Great app. Hi can you look into this issue with ios 12 I can’t edit none of the sounds you can’t adjust the volume or no other functions as soon as you touch the volume the app will crash thanks

One of The Best. This is a great app with some well crafted sounds. I use this app frequently because of the quality of the sounds. The adjustments available for tweaking audio are very good and they have a nice range. I would like to see just a little more flexibility for setting it up for performance. Assigning the mod wheel to various audio adjustment control knobs would be very nice. Another nice addition would be some way to creat a performance board where you select the various pieces of controls from each page of the app . Being able to save these with the presets would be the berries!

Dont get. This App is Straight garbage along with the irigkey piano with it.

iOS 9 midi issue destroys fantastic app. For the past several years, I have created music on the iPad with a variety of apps (GarageBand and SampleTank, mainly) using the camera connector kit to use a Yamaha USB midi cable to connect my keyboard to my iPad. The setup worked flawlessly until iOS 9. I understand there has been a change in the Core Midi interface of the OS, and I assume this is the culprit. My setup no longer works with either app. My husband's iPad is still running 8.4 - I downloaded GarageBand on that and low and behold, the cable works as intended. He needs his iPad for work, and I need mine for my work. I am a musician and a playwright, and my livelihood depends on these accesories working properly. Can someone please help me figure out how to make this work? Or Apple, will you please change core midi back?? Thank you.

Great for being FREE!. This app really thrives when partnered we the iRig keys or iRig keys pro. The voices aren't the highest quality but the settings and controls are easy to use. I love the fact that IK multimedia made it so you can use sample tank and iGrand piano from within GarageBand it takes garage band to a new level. The only thing I'm not a big fan of is the auto play tracks on the lowest key. Mostly because I play live a lot and if I accidentally hit the last key it's quite disturbing. But other than that I do love this software and would highly recommend this app as well as the iRigs pro they make a great team.

Garageband. I got this app so that I could use the sounds in Garageband but I can’t 😭

Perfect!. I'm a musician who has been looking for an app where I can record my music on the go. Garageband is amazing for that, I can even hook up my guitar and record! But what Garageband didn't have was good keyboard/synth effects. So I downloaded the free Sampletank app and was amazed at what they had to offer. I can record right in the mobile garageband with my irig keyboard. So I bought the full version along with the packs and now I'm limitless! I can do my Symphonic Metal songs and my Electro Industrial songs wherever I go! Love it!!!

best of the worst. amazing how no one has come out with world class piano and key sounds. first, I did pay $20 or whatever the max was to get all the sounds avail. Itunes won't let me review the paid sampletank as I got the freebie first. Whatever. -So many sounds are useless and take up space in this 1.1gb monster that could be MUCH better put to use focusing on 8 or 10 super high quality piano, elec piano, strings, ya know, the stuff people actually USE all the time. -last update Dec 2011??!? C'mon thats an eternity in this biz. Plz streamline this bloated app and give us some new functionality. -set your benchmark/bar at a mid-grade standalone midi module like a kurzweil micropiano and we will be rocking. thanks

Their pricing is a not transparent.. Paid for upgrading and saw that for same price almost I could get all the packages

the number 1 developer from the very bottom. buy this, if you want to make yourself suffer, give them the money, its all they qre asking for. substandard app, buggs, crashes, everything is there. money first! not the musician, change the tagline, have some honesty and dignity. money first!

Needs AUV3 support for DAWS like Logic Pro for iPad. This would be a great plugin as an AUV3 with support for Logic Pro for iPad!

great sounds but no master tune!. love the app and sounds but no ability to change the master tune or even detune one instrument kills me. cant harmonize with my instruments now. a toy until implemented

Nice, but missing out.. Audio Unit support is the standard I’m waiting for.

Needs AU support / ability to toggle different midi inputs. Works well as a standalone app, but unfortunately that’s not what I need it for. Even when using interapp audio, there is no way to stop SampleTank from responding to any midi inputs at all times. So there is no way to play it with just one midi controller, or on one channel of a controller. So unfortunately it’s useless to me.

You have to register your info to get the manual.. Lame.

Jump Start. Not where to start from scratch but a great jump start to get ideas going for your own music making... Though you can adjust basic parameters enough and then make more complex changes after exporting and make the sound completely unique and yours. Large sample bank too...

This company is pretty terrible..synth is crippled. Very limited synth. The hardware products are good and innovative ..but many come with cheap proprietary chords ..that are not easy to replace...why do this to your people?..maybe to make more money I guess?..but not cool.. The customer service is probably the worst I can think of.. no phone ..they will respond with , what seems like a Robot that is no help, very hard and frustrating to get any help...the software is just a trap to hook you into the pricey ecosystem..it’s actually decent yes..but not worth it to deal with this company on any level..shame because it could be different and Ik could be awesome but , I don’t have much faith..rn *Use caution or just don’t use there products ,many other options *I will update if It gets better I have the Irig keys i/o , awesome but the support and proprietary cords it uses are a real joke for a professional...plus no good videos or text on how to assign functions .

More instruments. If only you can add instruments like a nice strings ensemble and a good pad it will be more fun to use

My Favorite App. I am a singer/songwriter and I have Garage Band, Session Band, Synth, FL Studio, Crud, Studio HD and Music Studio but Sample Tank is my go-to app when recording music. I love this app! The arpeggios are great and work well together with the other instruments (included) when layering a song. The sound quality is great too! I couldn't be happier with this app and would be severely limited without it! I can't see how you could go wrong. Go for the pro version, you won't be disappointed.

Useless Due to In App Purchase Bug. I really wanted to like this app. It worked fine at first and then I purchased an instrument pack and it crashes on opening all the time now. I can’t even use it anymore. Asked Apple for a refund. This company seems to disappoint every time I’m dumb enough to give them money. They just stole $30 from me. Avoid this app like the plague.

Why charge. Paid to upgrade to SampleTank from SampleTank free just to realise that SampleTank pro was only $5 more with over 400 sounds what’s up with this money pit scheme. I thought I was reaching out for a resolution. Lame insincere response why not you the review team escalate this to higher levels of expectations I honestly want my money back

Loving it so far. Still exploring this app but so far very happy with it. Very user-friendly and the samples are excellent - extremely happy now that it has been updated for the Ipad. Will update this review as I use more of the features. One very minor thing - I spent the 20 dollars for the full version upgrade expecting the icon would change to no longer have that annoying red free banner on it, but not so. Of course changing the icon is not the reason I got the upgrade, and the icon doesn't affect my rating or my enjoyment of the app itself, but hope this is something the developers can change nonetheless.

Good, but needs improvement. I am a keyboard player, and I frequently use SampleTank on an iPhone at gigs, controlled by a Korg microKey Air. The sounds are generally good—not great, but adequate for playing in a band context. (Poor selection of brass section sounds, and the synth leads are boring.) I may use a few sounds from the app within the same song, so I rely on Multis, and I adore the way the app lets you include up to 8 sounds at a time, mapped across the range of notes so flexibly. If you only use 8 or fewer sounds in a show (or in a set) you can set them all up with all sorts of details regarding level and effects amounts, etc, each assigned to a pad on the screen. But that’s where one of the biggest issues is: the response to the pads is really awful. I’ve used the app on several different devices and when you tap a pad to turn that sound on or off, it’s often a toss-up as to whether the tap will work. The touchscreen on iOS devices is really quite amazing, but the pads in this app feel like I’m tapping the screen on my Korg Krome workstation, which is staggeringly awful. Another big letdown is the lack of sampling. I mean, the name of the app is SampleTank, but you can’t add any of your own samples. One might think that at least a very basic ability to add a file from various sources like the iTunes library, mic, or another app and then trim it and assign it to pad in a Multi is not too much to ask. Overall, I do like the app for performing with bands, although I only use it for “secondary” sounds, like pads or organs. I hope IK continue developing and improving it, and add some simple sampling capabilities.

Very solid, and yet.... A lot of fun, but I find myself wondering why the app - unlike the software proper - doesn't allow one to import multisample instruments. To be fair, this is hardly unique among iPad synth apps, but given SampleTank's price, ambition, and pedigree, I suppose I expected something more. Sounds like a minor problem, I know, but the app's vaunted GB of sounds ain't what it's cracked up to be: the base instruments are iffy and, for my extra $10, I would have liked a "Tron" pack with stellar (as opposed to just OK) Mellotronish samples. If the glitchy, update-avoidant software slumlords who brought us cheap, MIDI-less teases like ManetronMarkII and the Mellotronics 3000 can capture that synth's analog goodness, I don't see why IK's higher end app can't do the same. Until this thing becomes either a little more customizable or a little sharper sounding, I can't imagine ponying up the $20 asking price.

Sample Tank not responding to midi signals from triple play fishman on iPhone. Hi All My setup above worked well for years yesterday Apple sent and update and my setup does not work anymore on SAMPLE TANK ONLY but works on all other Ikmultimedia products on my phone ! I paid full price for all the built in samples I can’t find their product support line if any Are others have the same issues with SampleTank for iPhone ? Any help will be appreciated! The product is great but the support is HORRIBLE Thanks Wills

Ho Hum. This is the latest app. for my iPod. Needed a midi interface so I went with the iRig. Now I can control most of my music apps which is nice. But each of these apps have some level of frustration built in. Some have nice sounds but ineffective ways to record. Others let you build tracks but the sounds are lame. With Sample Tank I have a couple of issues...Sounds are quality but limited unless you want spend extra...it seems you can't build any song longer than 32 bars...some tracks don't feel very natural...and my biggest frustration is that I seem to run in to a polyphony issue, where on a third or fourth track notes will drop out. That's an issue I have not encountered in years. In short Sample Tank, like a lot of these other apps. just feels like a gimmicky toy. So far Garage Band for IOS seems as close to a real DAW as you can find for the iPod. Just a footnote...I love Sample Tank on my Computer...have used it for years and on many recordings...just wish this version was more like that.

Accidentally purchased and feel robbed.. I did not want this. I was so confused in the app I somehow found a purchased unlocked version and was trying to close the app and my fingerprint registered and purchased the app. I still uninstalled it. Can I please have my money back?

WAS great....... I have been using this app for years, but all of a sudden now, I can never get sound from the app, it crashes and does not work well with audiobus. I am extremely disappointed.

so frustrating. This app works great for a while and I came to depend on it. Then one day it just stopped working completely and now all I can do is get one or two sounds using my midi keyboard. The touchscreen interface doesn't work at all. Total waste of time and money.

Questionable quality. Crushes too often!. The app has a very good potential. I bought almost all upgrades spending over $100 and it has lots of instruments and loops. I like it, but there are two problems. First, it crashes too often, especially when you switch instruments. Second, I am not sure in the sound quality. By my ear it does not sounds as good as Garageband and some other music apps I own. So it is ok , but not very good. Need lots of improvement. The good thing is that it has now MIDI export, so I can import loops into Logic.

No. You can do better.. I don’t get it IK. Mix box is AWESOME. Syntronik, B3x ground breaking. SampleTank desktop used to be your premier product. Now you can’t even be bothered to make it AU? Borrow your design team and development team from these successful products. IAA is a no go for iOS production and live performance. I don’t care how good the Miroslav stuff is. This is 2023. I got burned once by a version of SampleTank that stopped working on the switch from windows 7 to 10. That’s why I tried CS on mobile. I’m not dropping $30 for IAA. I can keep using PureSynth or SAmplr. Update your app, guys. You can do better.

Umm... app is broken. Cool app. But only when it works. Its not working right now in this update. As soon as you touch any of the adjustment knobs, the app crashes. So its almost useless right now. I’m using iPad Pro 2.

Not waster your money, on the demo version.. Not waster your money, on the demo version, because when you buy the full version you will have to buy yours libraries again. This company does not listen to you, and the button to restore purchases does not work. they force you to have the two versions in yours ipad, each version 1.6 gb, 3.2 GB. Total. the app is good, but this business system is a steal.

Descent for seeing what its all about but not usefull. This is a demo that is actuall just that. It gives you a few sounds to play with and test the app but not enough to make the app overly usefull as an instrument unless you pay to expand it. Oddly this is something that alot of people have lost the ability to do...Ik you did it right! Other than being a proper demo it is a prity neet little app. The sound quality is good and Im sure the expansions make it quite a nice overall product. When an iPad or universal version comes out I will pick it up...but I have found little use for music apps on my phone personally and the double sized distorted screen wears on my eyes on my iPad. Hopefully Ik will make more avalible onscreen for us iPad users and not just make a large screen copy of the same interface with all the paging needed with an app like this.

Misleading false advertisment.. As others have said, you cannot upgrade the free version to the full version. Even though they clearly advertise that you can, it does NOT work that way, Because of that I am giving it two stars. I've contacted IK for a refund, and they've pointed me to apple support, If I receive my refund I'll buy the proper version and give it a glowing review, because the software really is very good, and deserves to get a good review. This however is not the proper version and deserves only two stars because it's misleading advertising. It's obvious that apple has made it impossible to give a real upgrade, and IK has done the next best thing, but they shouldn't have, and they shouldn't have advertised that you can. Just forget this and go buy the real full proper version because it's worth it.

Major Crash issue, someone help??. Hi, ive been using sampletank for months now. Ive invested alot of money into it you guys have awesome libraries that help me creatively take the next step and i couldn't be more thankful! Recently i updated my Iphone 7. And after the newest update, Sampletank automatically crashes whenever i try and adjust the “attack and release & inst volume & pan etc” knobs. Ive tried uninstalling it, changing instrument packs. Restarting my phone etc... and no solution. Ive sent 3 emails to your support team and its been a little over a week since i sent them and still have no reply. Please, i expect to buy new things on sampletank very very soon. But i just cant until i know that this solution can be fixed!

Bait n switch Rip off. You should consider that everybody is working on an IpadAir2 ..... My IPad suddenly took it upon itself to update itself with no approval from me and now the version you updated for newer IPads does not work for me..I am missing purchased instruments and volume is non existent and keyboards do not change from maxi to mini... I paid good money for this formally great app and should be able to continue to use it despite your improvements otherwise you have stolen my money You should make good by at least having the older version still available ....Please place that up on your website and notify us lowly older iPad users so we who have no funds for a newer iPad should not be prevented from using your app.

Good sounds, but would be better with audio unit extension. This software and sound pack came with an irig keyboard I bought. I like a lot of the string and piano sounds. They’re clear and accurate. However, the experience has some problems. There’s a clunky recorder function in the upper right corner that never works quite right, and only highlights the fact that there isn’t audio units support to record more comfortably in a different DAW. Hopefully, this will be in a future update Also, I don’t like the “nickel and dime” in app purchase model. It’s not offensive with nag screens, but I just want to play the instruments I have, not look at things I don’t want or need

Wow just Amazing. I have a Yamaha S70xs and now I'm going to sell it. This App have excellent piano sample, I think the best for the price. I like the piano sound more than my S70. Just you need iRig interface and a midi controller or a stage piano. I'm going to buy a Yamaha P95. This App and a P95 best duo ever. Really I never expect this for a App but it blow my mind. Important: you have to pay $30 for full App-1GB of sample!!! Super Like!!!!

Please update for os6. I did not have any issues until this morning when playing a gig. I cannot open and have various sounds not available to my keyboard setup.. Please fix.. Until now, no major problems.. Not 100% intuitive. Sounds are nice in the registered and free version. Still not convinced to spend the big money for the entire program.

Dont Upgrade this Version ! really over priced for new sounds!. Warning if you buy " sound upgrade packs " on this free version IKMultimedia aka SampleTank doesnt let you use them on the paid version , but instead charges you all over for the same exact sound packs REALLY LAME !! and caused me to lose respect for these app makers Big Time ! Pathetic !!! these guys Really want your money !! And this app uses over 1gb of memory on my ipod ! That IS Insane memory useage , the highest of any app ive ever had !! you should be able to delete all the sample sounds or sonething so it doesnt use so much memory. i paid 5$ for one of the " sound packs " and now i dont think it was worth it . i think this really needs a programable arppegiator as well . it sounds cool but its lack of control , memory usage , and way way overpriced updates dont make it worth it to me. If you were a smart company you'd lower the prices by far , then in the long run you would make more money via having more customers , but as it is i doubt youll get many sales on this app.

Will we ever get a AUV3 version?. I love this app and have been a big fan of all the plugins throughput the years. I wish we could finally get a AUV3 version so we can integrate it with our workflow! This app has some of the most premium sounds and it gets set on the digital shelf. Please update this app and release the animals in Sampletank! Thank you!

Keep working on it.... I want to give 5 stars but can't. I'm enjoying this app and not sorry I bought all the instruments but it's got it's problems. If I try to switch instruments with one of the 4 preset buttons while holding down a key, that note gets stuck on. Only fix I've found is to close the app and reopen it. I want to use it on stage but can't risk that happening. Also the volume on the oboe sample doesn't work right. Starts out very low until I switch to another instrument and then back again.

Don't waste your money!. This app sounds like it offers the world, but it's little more than a kids toy. It will cost you a fortune with in app purchases and take up a lot of that precious iPad memory space. It's difficult to navigate and hard to manipulate the samples. Please take my advice, there are far better apps that contain better quality samples, that allow you more manipulation and general control, for far less a cost. Don't be fooled by the paid version either, it will end up costing the same as starting with the free version. Try any other sample based app and you'll get better results than with this one. Don't let yourself be ripped off because they won't offer helpful customer support!

App crashes in iOS 12. No edits possible. This is appalling. Ever since being upgraded to iOS 12, the app crashes whenever I try to transpose or change other parameters. Using the hardware buttons on a midi keyboard does not provide access to all parameters. IK should provide a patch or an upgrade soon. Also, some of the purchases have to be downloaded over and over every time I open the app. Please fix this fast IK as I have had to stop using it since August

Great app. Fantastic in all ways and now with audiobus support, even better! Ability to set pitch bend values is needed, especially when using the synths. Otherwise 5 stars...

Voice - Can't play via midi KB. Hi, it's great app. However, there's minor issue that I've been encountering. I can't access/ play voices that are loaded in part B,C & D on iPad Air. But I can play only (loaded in)Part A via midi controller. Surprisingly, I used to play/access all parts on iPad 2 via controller. Please fix this minor issue. Also plz add new rhythm styles packs. Thanks.

beware: Not valid as a qualifying product for discount in the IK Multimedia bundles. Very disappointed, My understanding was that purchasing the upgrade from the free version to full Sampletank would give me a product with all the benefits of the full priced App, but after paying for the "full upgrade" it still has the "free" stamp on the icon and more importantly it is not valid as a qualifying product for discount in the IK Multimedia bundles, this is very bad business practice as I wanted to buy a particular bundle (but I would be buying the same product twice). I see this as discrimination against those who locked into this free version by making in-app purchases. I bought the full product when I could afford to but I feel as if I am being treated like a cheapskate, I will be making no more IK Multimedia purchases unless they change the way they do business.

CRASH APP NO.1...AVOID. This is appalling on my XS MAX iOS 12.1. Opens okay, load a sound then crashes...ALWAYS!!! Come on guys I paid for your other libraries that won’t run on this now. Too scared to buy Pro, as I have on my Mac, as will it be useless too???

Great Deal, Good Sounds & Features - but beware of Upgrade. ** Warning - if you later purchase the SampleTank upgrade as an "in-app" purchase, then sync with your computer which has the free version, you may lose your upgrade ** Having said that, I'm impressed with SampleTank but was expecting the sound quality to be better... A good app for capturing ideas and experimenting with :-)

Crashes. It won't even open, it just crashes. I have an ipad retina and I've never had any problems like this.

Great !. Works great now that I have a few things ironed out, I also needed to purchase a midi bridge ap for my e drums to work properly with this ap, the only thing I can think of that would make this ap more solid would be for some metal drums like they have for guitar

Cant Download. I cqn't give a review of the app because it won't download. I've never had this problem before. It times out before it is barely half way through the download. It takes hours.

Could be better.. When the program opens and stays open it's a pretty decent app. Haven't had the app for more than 24 hours and it won't open majority of the time. Almost thinking spending 90dollars on the iRig Keys was a waste. Fix this please!!!!

What happened to in app purchases?. I paid to have extra instrument songs…but somewhere along the line they seem to have reverted back to my free version.

Crashing. Since updating to iOS recently, crashes every time I try it modify a volume or any dial on iPad Pro?! Please fix it. I see feedback from years ago with the same problem. Just spent 69$ for complete pack and crashes every time you touch to change a parameter on an iPad. Very disappointed. Customer service says it is waiting for Apple to change iOS possibly?! Not likely.

Mostly good. FOR GOODNESS SAKE! stop asking me to register my app then telling me I am already registered. Constantly having to, or prompted to, redownload purchases. error prompts telling me that certain instruments are locked even though paid for. Often get distortion when used with iPhone and iTouch.

Bitter Sweet. BITTER – Crashes regularly!!! After a few times of using it, it just doesn't open for me. I've had to reinstall it a few times. I've tried a lot of apps never had one that was this glitchy!!! You think for the money of the full app this type problem just wouldn't exist! Why would I trust upgrading to the full version!! Glad I didn't waste 20 bucks!!! I couldn't trust it in a live setting, which is what I would be needing it for!!! SWEET – Great sounds, exactly what I need, easy to use, nice interface! It's a pretty Amazing app from that perspective, all in all!!! If I was going to pay $20 for the full version though, I would expect some more sound tweaking though and the ability to add my own sounds!!! It would get 5 Stars if it didn't crash!!! I was only going to give it one star, but the only reason I'm giving it 2 was how amazing it is on the sweet side!!! v

Please optimize for iPhone 5!!!. Awesome app, but optimize the screen size for iPhone/iPod Touch 5G so we get more space with the keyboard.

Worst app ever. You can't record sample

Not a toy, this is the real deal. I use this app on iPad Pro with a MIDI controller keyboard and the IK Multimedia's iRig MIDI 2 interface/bridge. With the recent update making Multis up to 8 instruments at a time, I do a lot of layering of sounds (by assigning two or more instruments to the same MIDI channel) and use multi channels (with keyboard splits on the controller) in live performances sounding like a symphony orchestra or brass band combo at will. And the samples are really amazing. Very convincing instruments. And what I really like is that you can use the same instrument of choice twice in a Multi with different settings (volume, EQ, effects) for each. So why only 3 stars rating? 1. With a recent update (could've been the iOS update, or app, not sure) I lost all my saved Multis and had to reprogram the settings (layers, volume and effects for each, channels, etc). That makes the app unreliable when going out on a gig. 2. Available effects differ per instrument. Why not allow more control through MIDI? Particularly for the obvious commonly used effects such as delay, phaser, portamento, etc. 3. Delay tempo should be independently adjustable, not dependent on song tempo. Some super effects can be produced by layering sounds with different delay tempos. 4. MIDI CCs should be standardized for all instruments across the app, not based on the visual setup on screen. I don't want to second guess which controller I'm changing when playing live. I look at those as areas for development, and look forward to seeing them in future updates. Good work IK Multimedia

iOS 6 Trouble. I loved this app until iOS6! Now it crashes during startup! I can't wait till its fixed so I can stop carrying my heavy keyboard to gigs! Other than the iOS 6 trouble, this app is worth the full purchase if you are a keyboardist Pro or not! I use it for keyboard bass!

Preset problems with iPad 3. Great app but came across a problem with presets where the tone is altered for a saved patch and is only corrected when the patch button for the sound is tapped. Not sure if this is new to iPad 3 but it needs to be resolved to leverage presets in a live situation. Don't want to have to hit a preset then hit the sound patch button to make sure the proper sound is produced.

Timing off. The only reason I got this app was to use with my ipad and when trying to use this app through the inter app function, the timing is always off. And yes, my tempo and signatures are matched. It,s just off enough to sound horrible. Please fix this and I will give the rating it really deserves which is 5 stars.

Another joke freebie that persuades me to not buy. I'll bet the real version is much better, but I can't tell by playing with this piece of garbage. They have to give people something they can enjoy or else it just wastes time and leaves you annoyed.

Solid app. Some of the best instrument samples I've found on iPad. Also It's not over-complicated to use. These guys just charge way too much for what it is. 5 stars if you add audio paste and pull your heads outta your butts on pricing.

Oh...well.. I thought I would give this a try in the hopes that it would be really good. Unfortunately it isn't, at least not for me. I use Beatmaker 2 on a regular basis and while the sounds that come with that app aren't the greatest, it's overall functionality far surpasses Sampletank (and functionality is what is important). Sorry but this is massively overpriced.

Nag, nag, nag!. The sounds are not bad. That said, the look of the app is tacky with it's red and black theme. But worst of all, the pop up advertisements that require user interaction are annoying, disruptive to musical inspiration or the work flow, and rather rude. After paying for so many of the in-app purchase options, and spending so much on IK Multimedia hardware, one expects to not be hounded. Why don't you grab me by the ankles and shake the money out of my pockets? BAD FORM!

Fun to mess around with. If all you need out of an app like this is to have some musical fun and get some good ideas for full blown songs, then you won't be disappointed.

Sampletank. I have had this app for a while now & I love it, however there seems to be a problem when I try to load three instruments into it, it starts fluttering or jumping and gets really distorted, so I use only drums & synth. Other than this I enjoy fooling around with it, I will contact IK Media for help Thanks Bill in Missouri

Needs a major update. This app disappoints on many levels. I found the UI lacking in terms of navigating and the editing functions almost nonexistent. One can't import samples nor does it support the general pasteboard or Sonoma. There is no piano role and only four tracks available. Really, for the money to upgrade or add instrument packs, look elsewhere. Music Studio (an app I do not own) appears to offer much more and will be lighter on the wallet. Or, better yet, wait for the next version of GarageBand which I'll bet will include woodwinds and brass.

Good job. This is a great app you can make music on the go its just the drum kit bass needs louder bass and you need good internet connection to email but all in all this app is awesome

Fix this app. I have it installed. I have used it. Now it won't update as iTunes now thinks it is not compatible with my iPad 2. It worked fine before. What did you do to ruin the compatibility? That is a pretty brainless error.

Okay. This app is pretty good. The sounds are high quality, and they work well. The app is kind of hard to use, though, and whenever I choose 'export', it just says that my export is complete, and when I try to find it, it's nowhere. Please fix the export button, and add an import one. Also, now the app is crashing! Please fix this!

Tuning?. This app does not allow me to change the tuning of the instruments. Some of us don't want to be forced into the world standard of A=440hz. Please update this so that we can adjust it to whatever we want.

Nagware. Even though I paid 30 bucks for all the sounds, I still get at least two ads when I open the product. Yuck. Additionally, they want all sorts of information before they unlock the sounds I purchased. This will not work with MIDI continuous controllers the way any reasonable person would expect it to. Mediocre product as it is. Insecure developer. Looks to me like more management than actual workers who produce things.

good, except one thing. You really need an option to turn of the riffs or pattern.I love the sounds when I connect this app to my piano, but when I hit the lower keys, the riffs start playing. It gets really annoying because, you cant play the bottom keys of your piano.

Error. When I try to restore previous purchases, it locks up. Not even sure if I had previous purchases, but there is no way of finding out without clicking the restore purchases button. I am disappointed in not only Ik's shoddy programming, but their unhelpful website as well. Also I would like ALL core midi controllers supported(like Akai's Synthstation). Step it up, IK

Disappointed app. The app works great for about a month or so. And when I purchased the full sound bank, it cannot fun for more than 10 minutes and just crash... It became a really big problem when you are playing live gig and the sound disappeared in the middle of solo... This happened to both my ipad 2 and 3... I bought this app so I can stop carrying my heavy keyboard, but I guess the heavy is much more stable and trustworthy thank this. At this point, I just want my money back... So disappointed...

Creeps. Why does a company feel a need to pop up their ads after both a hardware and a software purchase? Because they are creeps. I follow the websites, FB and twitter feeds of nearly all of my app vendors. Except these guys - because they are noisy, intrusive creeps. Creeps with pop ups for IAPs. You had your chance.

Producer writer. One of the best apps ever to be introduced to music. I just have one issue. It won't let me use it anymore on the master mind for tabletop retronyms. Can you fix this issue

Issues. No 3/4. Ads even after upgrade. Upgrading in the app keeps an annoying free sticker on the app icon. Can't manually edit midi data. Difficult to export recordings. No 6/8 either. There's some talk about a future update. We'll see.

Older version no working. My version no longer works! The product and upgrades I paid for no longer function with this upgrade! Not a good move to release a new version not keep the older version available. The solution is to buy a new iPad? I don't think so!

Good app, could be better. Sounds are great, and performance is pretty good, too. Latest update kept crashing on my iPhone until I deleted it and reinstalled it. Not having audio copy and paste yet is still inexcusable.

Sound Quality. I purchased the iRig Midi interface and downloaded Sampletank free, very excited for the intruments. I plugged the iPad into my mixer/amp. It took a while to set the volume to prevent clipping and distortion. The sound quality is horrible. To be sure, I switched over to Garage Band with the exact same set up. Garage Band sounds gorgeous. I really wanted to buy the piano pack. After hearing this, there is no way.

Misleading. Update text says: Now compatible with every audio dock. Does't work on Synth Station, which is a dock.

Sorely missing audio copy support.. Has OK sounds, but nothing like current romplers on the PC (kontakt, nexus) I thought I might be able to use this as a sound module for Beatmaker 2, but SampleTank does not support audio copy. Please add this!

Screen icon. I like the quality of the sample sounds. One caveat: Note that if you plan to purchase in app, you will still end up with the "FREE" slathered across the screen icon afterwards without recourse from IK. Better to purchase the full app directly after trying this one. The feature set after paying is exactly the same.

Bravo!. I used to love writing in MIDI and MOD and this let's me play around again using good-sounding instruments. Plus, what they give you will give you lots of fun and when you've done it all there's even more to come.

Sample player only. 700 meg down load for 12 sounds you have no control over any Parameters like filter or envelopes it is a hard sell with the "free" app I took 5 minutes to know that I wanted nothing to do with this it has. Already been deleted.

Crackling sound. I want to enjoy this app so badly and use it through audio bus to my beatmaker 2 app, but it keeps crackling. This crackling sound is akin to what I used to experience in my windows music apps when I was trying to play too many vst's or effects and didn't have enough memory. I am working with an iPad mini. I also changed the latency setting to low instead of very low thinking that would help, but it didn't. Please fix this issue because you have some great sounds I actually would love to use.

Best sampler for iOS. Not only is this cool on my iPad but it seems very stable. They have had a lot of practice on sample tank and on the iPad it is my goth sampler app period. Nothing else comes close to the sheer size of the samples included. Love it love it love it!

Static. Ever since I got todays upgrade, the amount of high end static has gone from minimal to distracting, with each note hit. Ive adjusted EQs and switched between instruments, and its still pretty bad. Please fix, as Ive grown accustomed to using this app quite a bit.

Nlog midi synth. Great product. Good sounds. With my iPhone it makes my Midi WX5 wireless. I emailed the service department and heard back from them, with a solution, in one day. If you want to use your IPhone for midi, get this product.

Way too many bugs. The sounds and features are great, but it all means CRAP if the freaking apps features aren't working properly. The recording feature with built in grooves is way too faulty. During recording I'll press a groove to play and it doesn't even register that I hit the freaking key. I have the latest iPad also. WARNING: DO NOT BUY!!! Recording feature and others do not work the way they are supposed to. And the sounds are great as long as you don't turn the volume up too much, then they start to sound a bit distorted.

Wasted money. I just needed a few simple sounds to use with my guitar synthesizer. They offer a package that is supposed to include all instrument sounds. It doesn't. So far, I've purchased three libraries. I've spent $60 to get a few decent sounds. They include so much junk/loops/fluff.

Yuck. It crashes on my iPad 2 with the latest version of everything, so the voices I paid for are worthless. Even when it’s not crashing, it pops up dialog boxes selling me stuff when I’m trying to play music, which makes me want to smash my iPad.

Good sound, ok in general. Initially I had some problem with this app crashing, but now it is stable. I bought the full bank of sound and it still says Free. The way they implemented polyphony is not good, it just plays the last n notes even if are not changing.

Ads and spam galore. The paid version, and this one, will flood you with POPUP ADS while playing, interrupting everything until you click click em away. This is typical IK Multimedia and is also present in their other paid products. The sound quality is on par with IK Multimedias other products, mediocre at best, but usable as a sketch pad when in a pinch. Overpriced IAPs as in all their other products. So do yourself a favour and look at other existing alternatives before spending all that money on this 4 track mini recorder rompler.

Agrees with critical review. The packs are insanely overpriced, and the fact you cannot transfer them to the PAID version is even worse! Good app, for 3 stars but that's it. They really set up so they can make those BIG dollars off of you!!

Mr. I love the like the app. I'll give the 5 star as soon i have a way to split keys. And as soon i my igrand piano purchase avalible on the sampletank. Is the same developer so i think you guys can do it.

Sad face. I like what's going on with this app and look forward to using it when and update comes out to fix the compatibility between sample tank and the Alesis Dock for iPad . At first I thought it was a faulty cable but after research it turns out the two don't play well together. Until then I will wait patiently and will give five star once working properly.

Update ruined it!!. I used to use this application every day with my midi controller. After the update, I can't even install it on my iPad fourth generation. I have already purchased the instruments for this app. Now I can't use the app or the instruments. I demand my money back!!!

Turn off riffs!!. I have purchased all the expansion packs. I am totally embarrassed when those stupid patterns/riffs start going off during a performance. I am playing with other people/instruments and there needs to be a way to completely disable these stupid things!

Get this app. Fun, fairly straight forward smooth and very useful as an extra go to for great natural sounds. Although the metal guitar leaves a lot to be desired, lets just leave it at that. All In all I would say give it a day in court ...lol but really try it out!

More tracks. Please let us use more than 4 tracks, 4 are nothing we need 8 or 12, please make this happen as I don't believe you will... Thank you

Unhappy. I am unhappy with this app. There has not been an update since forever. It is still crashing. And if I redownload it, I am worried all of my music creations will be deleted. I also do not want to risk it losing my music and still have it crashing. I would be very happy if this was updated soon.
