What I needed. Thanks. Great app. No fuss. Not all chords are in the library but since you can add your own chords it’s not a problem. I love this app. The lyrics part could be improved like flowing through the following tabs etc but I give it 5 stars because it’s good enough for me right now.

Tabs are easy. The tabs are easy to edit because you can go back, listen to them, and you don’t need a guitar.

Rare. It’s kind of rare in my experience to have something work so perfectly well as intended. No fuss, does what it says. Easy TABS right now that you can send to students, or work new voicings in a visual way, with the option to work with different tunings or different instruments, it’s very helpful.

Limited to 8 bars. App maxes out at 64 columns, which means 8 bars of 8th notes. You can't tab a whole song. Also, I don't see legato, bends, grace notes etc, but maybe I just missed them. Overall, too simplistic for most needs. Otherwise easy enough to use.

Kudos Guitar Tab Maker. This is the first app I’ve ever written a review for, but I felt it was well deserved. The app is very intuitive and easy to use. I can easily finish tabbing a song in one sitting. I use it mostly for learning new songs that I can’t find tabs for online. When I first installed it, I had some problems with the settings. I emailed the developer and he was happy to help out. If your looking for an app for tabbing songs, I couldn’t suggest any better app.

Only tablature app I have ever liked. This is the easiest tab program I have ever used. There is no nonsense about having a score along with it. Why does every other tab program try to get you to write out music notation with your tabs. It tabs, we don’t want all that crap. There is just one thing I would like with this app. Make it available on the desktop. I often want to tab out what I recorded but and would preferred to just my computer I am already sitting at recording with, then in my phone.

Better than I had expected! And I expected quite a bit.. So, first off, the tabs were really easy to figure out how to write what I wanted to. I was able to just tap where my fingers were and that was it, the symbols were there too. Made it all so easy. Then, the organization. I could title tabs! I can label what song is what tab. Then the ability to put tabs in different folders! It’s great! This could be great if you’re in a band, and need to organize your tabs. Have a folder for each album you make. It’s really fun to just write and make these tabs for songs. Overall one of my most used apps! Thx to the creator

Best tab writer I found -5 stars!. I love this app. Very easy to use and well written. As a newbie I’ve barely scratched the surface of its features. But well worth the money!

Works great. Only thing that could make this better is if u could see scales or hear the note you pick but even still great app and works great

Liking it!. I really like this and find it easy to use. My only complaint is that is you want to repeat a little cluster of notes or repetitious hammer on sequence or something, I have to rewrite it every time. It’d be nice with the magic tool to be able to select a sequence and basically copy and paste what you’ve already written. If that’s already a thing I can’t figure it out yet. Like the app!

Mahalo. Finally! A simple tab creator that has custom tunings. I play lap steel and use many tunings. Learning steel is still a one-on-one, watch me and repeat kind of process. The Hawaiians just show you what they do- and then you ‘chance ‘em’. They rarely write it out. It’s handed down person to person and in families. Hard to teach playing with ‘aloha’, you just have to listen. Kinda like learning old Appalachian fiddle tunes in different hollers. Works for me!

Should. Be called bug master. I was trying out the free version, it’s absolutely horrible made one tab but the second one would never save and the app would lock up. Why would you want to buy the premium? The free version is a joke

Like it. It’s a pretty easy way to tab out ideas quickly. Haven’t needed to use any advanced features yet. I like it though.

Encountered bug that ruined the entire app…. Currently the app has this bug that sends me into an infinite loading screen when trying to access tabs I have written. Makes the app useless unless you want to save a tab and never access it again. Even the clicking the “backup all tabs” button sends me into an infinite loading screen. Makes the app unusable.

Works fine. It’s pretty easy to use for basic tabs in a pinch. Really like the PDF export ability, and think the 3D touch wheel for adding slides, etc, is intuitive!

Great for note taking.. The app has a simple interface and easy to learn workflow that is “just enough” for capturing the essence of a song with minimal effort. I use it every time I practice now. The playback is enough to get you going in the right direction.

The app deleted everything. Just as title says. I had the app on two devices for backup reasons. It deleted everything on BOTH devices! I had things from 2021 that I was saving to repurpose for newer songs. Almost three years of work GONE on both apps. Luckily, since it deleted everything on my iPad first, and I had a hunch it would just do that one day before hand, I had everything saved into a file on my phone in case same thing happens on that one too. And it did. I have no idea why this is happening now, and idk if it’s because of an update or just a glitch, but yeah. The app decided to delete three years of work randomly two times. Literally everything was on my phone on the actual app earlier today.

Responsive Developer. I got this app to write tabs in open tunings. I found that the "0" was not working in some of the tunings and messaged the developer who promptly fixed the problem. Now very usable. Hard to find apps that work in open tuning. Thank you Kyle

I JUST DELETED IT. I hadn’t used it in a year. So I went on and the stuff i had is gone. And when i hit New Tab button it goes directly to some video game thing on App Store…. It happened more than once. Also- I just discovered that Notability now has tab paper, so i rather use that app.

Easy to use. Wanted a quick way to tab out some chords. This app ended up being even easier, and quick to use, than I would’ve thought. Great job.

overall good but missing something. i like this tab maker, but i haven’t found a way to change the time between individual notes (only been able to change the speed of the entire song). i’ve only been using it for a few weeks so i could be missing something, but i really like this tab maker

Good. This is a pretty good app. It works well enough for making tabs, and I enjoy it. You can set it down to 4 string for bass, change the tunings, and much more.

Really intuitive. I was thinking about developing my own tab editing app, but this is way more intuitive than anything I would’ve designed. My only gripe is that it’s a bit difficult to navigate to where you want to edit once the tab gets too long (I write for fingerstyle, so it gets really messy). Maybe if you can make it so when we click on a measure in full screen mode, it auto-navigates to the corresponding measure in the editing screen? Again this is more of an issue with the size constraints of the phone rather than the app itself. From a fellow guitarist/developer, awesome work!

Guitar Tab Maker App. This is a great tool - the best one I’ve come across for my needs which is archiving tabs for ukulele and slack key guitar. I’ll never discard my hard copies but having everything on my ipad is alot easier than carrying binders. My wish list for this tool is to be able to sort the tab list ... don’t know if this feature is available because I wasn’t able to find it in the documentation. Otherwise this would be a five star rating.

Love this tab maker!. So glad I found this app! It took me a while to figure out how to edit; delete a row of tabs, create a new staff, etc. It would be great to have more directions somewhere in the app, but I did figure it out. Very intuitive and easy to use once you get it down.

Great app. I’ve only started using it, literally 5 mins ago, but already in very impressed! It’s simple and easy to use and the software works great!

Asked and answered. ***Updated *** You can write 8-string guitar tabs and save custom chords, and best of all now you can hear them because…. Audio is in! I like that you can toggle on the sound of the note as you input it to the tab. You can hear the tab playback now too. It’s basic but it works. I’d like to suggest different guitar tones such as distortion and the ability to have the tab effects that you input affect the sounds like mute string “*” and pick scratch “x” as well as bends “b” and so on.

7 & 8 string ??. The app is good . Does what it’s supposed to. But to have the option to be able to tab your 7 string or 8 string guitars would make this app even better. Even more people would use it.

Great app for writing tabs. I just got my phone stolen and thought that I had lost all my songs but I just redownloaded and they are all here! 5/5 stars

Don’t scroll past this one. It’s good.. I’ve used this for years. My 300+ tabs from fresh out of middle school to college are on here. It’s simple in controls and fast while still having options to create more advanced tabs. Great for beginners and experienced players alike.

Play Sound of Guitar Tab. Great app! Very useful and I don't find any problems while using this app, But is there any way I can play the tab and hear how the tab sounds?

Great app. It’s a great app. Simple and easy to understand and use. But I would like to know if there is a way to add symbols like pull offs, hammer ons, slides etc. If this app doesn’t have it, I think it would be a great addition.

VERY GOOD APP YES. very good and it works perfect for me and the creator even added a playback feature that u can hear what you put so technically now you can even make tabs when away from ur guitar which is so awesome and once I get a job I will prob get premium to support the app lol tho another great thing is you don't actually have to pay to use the things that u need on the app so yeah it is great

Having issues. Are we allowed to only tab one measure each file? I need to create several rows of tabs for each section for a full song, but can’t figure out how to do that

This app is what I’ve been looking for!. This app is truly amazing. I have been looking for something just like this for what feels like years. There are no ads, you just have to wait a few seconds. You can change the tuning to anything, it is simple to use, and it has a wonderful playback feature.

Add the number 0 to the tab list thing HAHAHA I figured it out. It has every number but zero, sometimes you need to use a string without a finger on it. I’m new to the app so maybe I just don’t know but other than that it seems solid. Never mind all good, just tap the letters.

Easy To Use (HELP BTW). App is great and easy to use and just straightforward. How can you put a “slide symbol” on and the “slap symbol”

Love this app. I am loving this app so far. A better UI may improve workability. Is there a way to save bpm for each tab individually in the playback? Every time I open the app, bpm is preset to 80.

Functional, intuitive.. This is quite the versatile app, I take it on the go, just to put something down before I forget it. Love the custom tuning function and the magic edit function, and how little time it takes to set up another page of tabs, but I was curious about when the app will have a function for dead notes, achieved with fret-hand muting.

Simply beautiful UI. It’s a breeze and now I’m a premium user. so easy to input your notes and frets and move pieces of your song around. Essential for music writing. My only suggestion is a dark/grey mode, or just have the user control the color schemes.

Tabs were deleted. I spent over an hour writing tabs for short parts of many songs and the next day all my tabs are gone and deleted, dont use this awful app

Perfect. This is honestly the perfect app for guitar tabs. It’s really easy to use, and has all the features you could need for writing tabs. I also love that it’s free!

All but one thing. Amazing capability in this app, but i'm struggling to figure out how to enter a custom tuning. no keyboard shows up to change it, it's sort of stuck. i play a standard C bass and could easily just type out the tuning, but the custom option doesn't seem to work

Fantastic tab making app. I'd give this 5 stars if there was a way to set it to always move onto the next note when you're writing riffs. It disrupts my flow to always move up to the arrow to move ahead. Otherwise I love the simplicity and ease of use having tried a variety of apps now. Great work Dev!

So far so good. I think it needs a way to transcribe the guitar tab notes into sheet music in case you want a piano friend to play a song you’ve written. Also, a little more space for the “lyrics” textbox. But it’s a good app so far, I’m able to just sit down with the guitar and write a song whenever I feel like I just made something cool and want to keep it. Good work 👍

Mostly great!. This I really useful! The only issue I have is that you can’t listen to your music in the app, but otherwise I love it!

The developer fixed the problem and even made the app look better. I am glad that someone made something like this for iOS. I had some issues but he fixed it in no time. Very responsive and helpful

Enjoying it so far, but.... I’m enjoying it, it’s really helping me but when I come to write a song in drop C, the first chord is 4 semitones higher than what it’s meant to be in reality. I hope you come around to fixing this as I believe this app will boost me in writing songs in the future.

What’s wrong. It started fine but now I can’t create any new tabs? What is happening

Awesome. This is just what I was looking for creating tabs for teaching and learning.

Awesome. I want to start the new year with a big shout out to the developer for this app. I use it exclusively now over all other apps and software (yes, even Guitar Pro which is just overkill) because of it’s sleek design and functionality. It is easy to use and navigate. You are up and running in minutes. Great instruction manual. Print outs are clear and defined. Every little improvement and tweak makes using it better and better. There is room for for improvement but I am confident this app will get there. Music Teachers, Guitar and Uke players……..buy this app!

Surprisingly easy!. Wish there were more chord shortcuts but I’ve never had a tab app this instantly good.

Awesome Tool. This apps has been great for transcribing my Zoom video lessons, and for starting to write my own music. The feature that allows me to switch between fret numbers and notes is helping me learn the fretboard too.

Where is the palm mute?. This app is great, but there is no way to write palm mutes

Awesome App. This is exactly what I needed! Super user friendly, clean, no extra junk. Something that would be helpful for someone at my level though, would be a place to put a note about which fret the capo is on, rather than editing the tuning.

Absolutely (almost) perfect!. I love this app! not much i would change, i just wish there was a way to copy and paste. There may be a way but i have yet to find it. Still, love this app so much. Would highly recommend it to anyone trying to write your tabs. Great work!

Other Notations?. I might be missing something but I can't seem to figure out how to write in pull offs, hammer ons vibratos, etc. Simply typing for example "p" for a pull off should not be its own bar, it should be combined (ex: |15p14| not | 15 | p | 14 |). Nice app otherwise the configuration settings are useful.

Way too basic for most guitar players.. I marked the first two notes successfully and then I wanted to mark them as a slide. No obvious way to do it and no help. I’m back with an update. You have to do a long press to get all the advanced annotations. I’ll keep trying it and update this later.

Finally. A simple to use, capable Tab Maker with no Bloat. Great Job

Simple & Easy to use. If you’re looking to just make guitar tabs, this is a quick and easy way to do. Nothing too fancy, but definitely worth the free download.

What do we do in here!?!. I just tried this and I don’t even know what to know. And the first thing that popped up is ADS!!! And I was trying to make a song too and I couldn’t know what to do with it.

Ads make it bad. If it can’t load a video ad, you can’t create a new tab. Not my fault your ads don’t work. I have a strong signal but can’t create a tab if they can’t load a stupid ad. Why bother with the app at all then?

Ads. The app is pretty great except it keeps saying its unable to load the ads and that I have to buy the premium version.

I love this app. I absolutly love this app, i can write my own cool riffs for free and its super easy. I would highly recommend this app to anyone who plays guitar

all my tabs are gone. i opened the app and all 93 of the tabs i've saved are gone, at least the app is easy to use

Limited. Nomenclature for hammer on/off, slides,strum direction, etc. not explained. Easy to use.

Very Useful Tool. I started back playing guitar after 25 years. The Tabs app has help me get back to playing. It’s easy to get a lick or few off YouTube and jot down in tabs. I wish it had a few more annotation symbols like for a bend up to 1/2 step. Or the ability to place text in the staff. All said this is a great app for basic guitar playing.

Not even half way developed.. White text on a white background. Can’t see or read anything (not even the extremely small settings menu). Can’t figure out how to add slides or hammer-ons either. I want to love this app, but it’s just not done yet.

Fix. this app looks really good and is really easy to use but when i ran out of room for the song i was making i thought the plus button would add more space for a song but it deleted my whole song

Its barely functional but fine. Lots of magic interactions that are unintutive, no way to batch export, can't even rename a tab while its in use. Organizing stuff is annoying. Unclear how to save things. Not worth the 5 dollars

Fun app. A bit clunky at first but really cool.

Ugly exports. The PDF and RTF exports put an ugly ——— between each string This thing was a good deal but good hell those exports are ugly

How do you bend strings?. I’ve tried so much and just can’t figure out how to bend the strings. Other then that, it’s an amazing app!

Could use some help... Idea is great, but being locked down here is severe.

👀. Amazing App!! If you would like to step this app up, A really nice quality to add would be a feature to play the tabs (including BPM), even if it were by a basic synth, just to hear what it sounds like!!
