Better than the Pro version. Playback animation doesn’t open the fuel probe on playback like the “pro” version of this game. The developers also got the animations of horizontal stabilizers and flap/aileron coordination wrong on the f14 and f18! Being retired Navy myself this bothers me a lot. In addition it would be nice to see ordnance available, changing the weight and flight characteristics. Carriers do not change course during recovery ops!!! Another annoying thing. PLEASE ADD PITCH AND ROLL during rough weather!!!

Great also minor fix idea. Great game, have 2 ideas for a slight fix. The front gear on the F-16 likes to go under ground when you flare. And make landing lights on the runway brighter

What needs work. For me being a airplane enthusiast and a thirteen year old, I don’t know much about every little thing, but this game makes it easer. Now, to the point, I’m reading a book about Vietnam and it says the plane landing on the flight deck does not flare the aircraft, meaning you land on the flight deck with power. Since I have had this game for a long time I decided to test this. So I took my best plane for me to fly (the F-14) and trued it. The flaring part was spot on, but... the arresting wire only stops you at 250 and not about 300, which kind of confused me. I know this is not a Vietnam simulator but if that’s on purpose let me now or if not please fix it if you can. And if possible I recommend a F-100D or a F-105D, but any Vietnam plane will do! ( I’m really addicted to the Vietnam war for sure reason) and if you read all of this I just shan’t to say thank you for the beautiful yet wonderful game this is!

Relaxing game. The choices are good and the changing scenarios very good, and a relaxing games to play.

Little suggestions. I sometimes try to land on something other than a runway, mostly the road going to the bridge. On fix should be that you can land wherever as long as you don’t land too hard. Also I don’t know if you ever though of adding helicopters because of the Lightning 2B or the Harrier but I think that would be a good idea. You should also add the F-15 Strike Eagle. Lastly, could we have weapons on this. I know it’s a landing simulator but I would be so much better with active armament and damageable areas. Overall great game but could be much better with these suggestions

Complete garbage. Flight model is garbage. There isn’t even a flight model. This is something people buy for their 6 year old and rate it because it keeps the kid busy. Lousy money scheme.

Great Sim. Love the airplane selection, can we get a B52 or B17 on the next update!

Please add B-2 and Lockheed. Love the game and all the planes but I feel like it’s ready for some bigger and faster planes such as the Northrop B-2 and the Lockheed SR-71.

Add more planes. I would like to see this game get more updates. If this game got a update I would like to see the f15 or mig 15 or 19.

iPhone X update. Really looking forward to an iPhone X update. It’s pretty much unplayable with the black bar blocking your speed. Love the app otherwise

impossibel to take off in some situations. At the very start in some free flights, the plane parked at the side of carrier, there is no way for jets like F18 to take off without catapult. Even sometimes the jet exploded when I enter the game. It’s not worth $10, definitely not.

iPx support and a 10. I loved this game until I got my iPx (iPhone X) and it was very buggy so I didn’t play for a while but then I saw the new a-10 and was about to withstand the bugs just to fly it and a word of advice you should have put iPhone X support in the description as that is a game changer for most people But for the future I say I liked the old design for the airbases in the canyon map a lot better (the really really old ones from before carrier landings 2) they were better quality and made more sense.

We need a new aircraft’s. This game is the best and I hope you add a new aircrafts such as C-17 Globemaster III , F-15 EAGLE , B-2 SPIRIT , KC-10.

Please. I love this game very much but I have saw that’s this game need more support and need to fix ex. How a jet can’t reach 2000 kn impossible and pls add f-15 eagle , mirage 2000 , sab gripen , b51 , c 17 even more and more thanks a lot Hamad

iPhone 10xMax support. Love this game but, I recently got the iPhone 10x Max and the infamous notch covers up my airspeed! Any fix coming for this?

It’s ok but the older in game music was nicer. I love this game. It is a realistic simulator with nice graphics. Now straight to the point. The current in game music is not that good. I would really love it if you went back to the older in game music that was in the game in previous years.

No control. Love this game but just downloaded latest update, all excited to get the A-10! Now no matter what plane I have there are no controls on my screen! No throttle, nothing!

More Planes. This game used to have more free aircraft at one time. Offer free aircraft to make the game better for players.

Good game, but...... All in all it is a very great app. Some things I would like to see added though, are, -Gravity. If you pull up, you will lose speed. If you aim your nose down, you will gain speed. That’s not in the game yet, but I see it as a fundamental for a simulation -More variety. I know it’s a jet carrier simulator, but I would really like just a flight simulator. Some cargo planes, maybe smaller, single engine planes. That’s pretty much all I can think of at the moment. It is a great game, keep up the good work!

Best game ever!. I was chillin with the homie and he say how about dat? I was like what? Cash me outside chump skillet! Ever since then I was like a no party like the west coast party, the east coast part don’t stop. Just don’t make promises your body can’t cash, and you know what, I was inverted!

Okay but wish graphics were better. It is fun but it would be better if it had more combat missions with missiles and Machine guns

*Things that could be fixed or added*. If anyone from Rortos happens to see this review, there’s some things that could be fixed or added to make this game better! I’ve always enjoyed playing this game for fun and if I get bored. Just a good way to pass time for plane enthusiasts like me. Even though it’s a cool game, it does have a couple minor things that could be looked at. One of those being the main runway on the Island Scenario. The lines on the runway look like they are for a smaller airstrip. The lights that show up at night are cool, but the lines don’t line up lol. Another thing that kinda bothers me a little is that the C-2 Greyhound doesn’t have shadows. I like to do aerobics with some planes but with there being no shadows, it’s hard to fly down on the deck. Another thing is the stutters when I fly through specific spots of the maps. I understand if it’s loading the areas but like I said I sometimes fly pretty low and when it stutters, it full sends me into the water or land. Those are some of the main things that could be looked at in my opinion. Something that I would really like to see is more aircraft. Ya I know the game is getting older and there’s newer and better sims but there should be at least three or maybe four more aircraft to fly. It’s also been 3 years since the F-104 was added. My top three planes that could be added are the SR-71 Blackbird, V-22 Osprey, and the C-17 Globemaster III. The SR-71 because you can zoom zoom around the map really fast, the Osprey because it’s got VTOL with the rotors, and the C-17 because flying big planes is fun lol. There could also be an update with reverse thrust if the C-17 got added and also put it on the C-130 since they can back up. Like I said if anyone from Rortos happens to read this review, these are a few things that could either be fixed or added to the game to make it a whole lot better!!!

Please add. Please add the SR-71 and F-15. Please fix the f-22 because it’s thrust to weight ratio is messed up. And please for the love of God allow weapons systems. But other than that I like the game. Multi player wouldn’t hurt either.

Great game, wish there were more planes. I’d really love this game even more if it had planes like the SR-71, B1 Lancer, U-2, XB-70, and other high-tech planes like those. Beautiful game though! I know it’s not a military plane, but the Concorde needs to be in this game.

Please Add Armament!. I’m satisfied with the number of aircraft available. I like that fuel tanks have been added as well. I think the same way you added the fuel tanks, you should add armaments. You know, bombs/missiles and the player has their choice of setup. Not really for use, but for show. I understand it’s a flight simulator and not a combat simulator. It would just be nice to look like it can participate in combat.

Trash game. Developers last update was over a year ago. The game is pointless and has basically no missions, you can’t use weapons or anything. It’s a waste of money

Good game. Like this game a lot but there needs to he more missions. And you need to add some more aircraft like the f-15, panavia tornado, some saab

Crashing. The app worked all for about 60 seconds before crashing. I tried deleting the app and reinstalling it with no luck. I even tried rebooting my brand new iPhone 12 Pro, and it’s still crashing. I just spent $10 on an app that doesn’t work.

Needs in app purchases removed. I bought the full version of the game thinking that all in app purchases from the free version would be available without buying them. Clearly however you chose do leave out the only thing that makes the game worth 10 dollars. The flight simulator purchase should be part of the game without having to spend money on it

F-15. This is my favorite game. But I want the F-15 Eagle. And in the world flight simulator its better if you add aircraft carrier for refueling when we use navy aircraft.

Issues. Good game, need more mountains, better graphics. And above all the rudder keeps getting stuck.... left or right don’t matter every now and again the rudder sticks and can’t fly. So can we please fix this??

Can the creators of this simulator please give us one or all of these planes in your next update: SR-71 Blackbird (please make it fast), B-52( it would be cool if it had a really cool feature), F/A-37 Talon (prototype), B-1 Spirit stealth bomber , and/or the B-2 bomber I would greatly appreciate if you wrote back. Problems and ideas over all amazing game. Love the app I love planes and have worked with all the planes in the full version I love it, it's so realistic the only problem is when I try fly the greyhound it crashes the game but when you fix that it will be amazing just add a couple more features and bam the other thing I would love to see is multiplayer dog fights where the people with the full version get better planes missiles and rockets and such and the people with free have the default plane that will get more people donating and getting the full version if you can get it to work with out crashing use ad-hoc/Bluetooth or wi-fi

Awesome. Very good game, love all the game types. Needs more campagain missions. The app is very unstable (iPod 4th Gen, iOS5.1) which results in crashes of the app. I suggest trees on the ground for a. more obstacles and b. more perspective ground. I also suggest a mission of evasion (artillery, aircraft weaponry, etc.). Overall, 4 stars

Good flight sim with enough challenge. One if the better flight simulators. With simple controls, enough to have fun with, but not an overwhelming GUI. I even upgraded to the full version to get extra aircraft. I play this more than any other game on my iPhone. Could do with more terrain options, landing on the aircraft carrier is always a fun challenge!

Would be better if no crashes. I call myself the biggest fan of this game. I've been playing for years but when the new greyhound came out, I try it and it crashes the game. I wold give this app more stars but first it needs a bug fix. Also some new obstacles and some new planes.

Awesome!. It's a great flying simulator, well done on an iOS device! Like: 1. Great graphics 2. Very well done 3. Fun to play 4. Option of other planes to fly other than the F/A 18 Hornet (which the app is named after) Dislike or needs improvement: 1. Crashes when I try to fly the C - 2A Greyhound on any game mode 2. Crashes are becoming more frequent (not me crashing ☺..... The game) It is worth buying if you like a challenge! It's SOOO cool when you finally land... 😃👍

Best flight simulator there is. I remember buying this game at the very beginning and have been very impressed with the way it has evolved. I really like this application and always will. I would be nice to see maybe a Sukhoi Su-30 or rotary wing aircraft. Maybe even aircraft like F-16 which just operates out of airfields. Thanks for an amazing app guys, I love it!

Brilliant. I have tried a bit of developing in unity which allows me to appreciate how complex and detailed you have made this app. At first, I thought it would've been very basic and unrealistic, but after downloading and trying it, I found it to be very good.

GodlyPuppet. do not even waste your money, its stupid, hard and broken, every time i try to land on the carrier, no matter how slow or how long i hold brake, it just keepssliding till it falls off the edge, not too mention when i did landon the carrier, my jet randomly started sliding backwards, it didnt finish the level, it just kept going backwards till i fell off and got mission failed, so dont even bother

Awsome Game. This is an Awesome Game. Can you add an F-16, F1-11, C-17, V-22 Osprey, SR-71 Black Bird, Boeing CH-47 Chinook, Bell UH-1 Iroquois, Boeing B-17, Boeing B-52 Stratofortress, Bell P-39 Airacobra, A-26 Invader and F-100 Super Sabre, F4U Corsair, TBF Avenger, F7F Tigercat that would be Awesome. Can you also add slaloms to test your flying skills and how well you can fly that would be awesome thank you. Also can you also change the knots to KPH and Feet to Kilometres and miles to Kilometres.

Really realistic. It's one of the bast flight simulators I've played with great graphics but for 5 stars I would also recommend adding some come controls for the rudder and some more weather scenarios eg. Rain.

Best flight simulator but few suggestions. Great game but it needs a few more things for eg. -more maps as it is boring when there there is jut 2 - helicopters and more planes -make the aircraft carrier so u can contact it as we'll but have this so u can turn it on or off. - so you can fly with friends -have it so you can fuel up at airports and auto when you land on carrier( have it so its optional) -have it so you can be in charge of squadron These would make the game more fun. I hope you take this into consideration. Keep up the good work.

Nice game. I like the overall gameplay and graphics. Could I please suggest a few updates. Option to turn off music but leave on aircraft sounds etc. also an option to save current progress would be nice. Please add more missions soon.

F14 tomcat and other things. Dear developers, I have a couple things wrong with the tomcat, and other jets for the tomcat the visor that u look through should not be in a glass screen like the fa/18 in real life the screen is actually in the centre piece of the hood in the f/14 Tomcat, the other thing wrong with it is the rudders unlike other aircraft it takes a heck of a long time to turn using the rudders and when ur at the three quarter mile mark coming into a carrier there is no time to bank into position, so i would appreciate it if u could fix these little things for a more realistic feel. Game modes: The only fault with this game is the things u can do, sure there is missions but they don’t take long to do, so maybe a dogfight mode or something along those lines would be nice. Aircraft: The aircraft in this game is good I mean u have some rare ones but what would make this game even better is if u added things like bombers such as the b2 and the f111 and such, and maybe some more fighter aircraft and some reconnaissance aircraft too would be nice. Other then those things it is a fun game but with some more realistic cockpits and detail it would be better Flaring: The flair in this game is pretty good but could be more realistic as such it could come over the wings in those high g turns with maybe some shakes in the cockpit and some flair if in the barrelrolls too. View: Nothing much but to be able to turn and see my wings and tail in the cockpit would be wicked cool. Sincerely, a big fan of the game

Some enemies to fight with or something. This game has so much potential it's the bon-diggity. Definitely buy it

Great game. This is a great game, and though the controls are simplistic, what do you expect in a game made for a phone or tablet. My kids love it too... I recommend upgrading at least once just to get access to a greater variety of planes and missions.

Great!. Really good game a few bugs to work out but keep the updates coming more missions, insert a stall alarm, fuel usage, and greater distance traveled the higher the altitude would be more realistic. Cheers

Sometimes trying. I enjoy playing the game. Just when I think I have mastered the landing on a carrier, I crash and burn. But it is addictive and I enjoy it so much that it I have also installed it on my iPhone. Alan Ward NSW

Great game. Awesome game. Good graphics and all but the reason I gave a 4 star is because one of the stars is for the sound barrier. These Jet's fly more than the speed of sound. You can hear the plane breaking the sound barrier but you couldn't the barrier. It's be awesome of you could add the barrier effect :) overall, awesome game! Keep it up :D

AWESOME!!. This works perfectly fine on my iPad 3 and the gameplay is so realistic :D The only things I want you to work on is: -add more land marks like buildings, towns ect. -work on the graphics (not that they are bad) -add more types to planes to unlock -add more missions Other than those, it is perfectly fine and by far the most realistic jet simulator on the App Store. I recommend paying the $1.99 because it is totally worth it :D

Best Plane Simulator Gam I Have Played!. The title says it all. I have been looking for a perfect plane simulator game and this one is perfect. The game runs you through 6 excellently planned tutorials when you first buy the game. When you finish the tutorials you can fly in many different planes. There are two main worlds both with airports, a carrier and many more stuff. There is also a rectangle world where you fly through these rectangles. 6 Out Of 6 , 10 Out Of 10.

F16 Issue. There is a serious problem with F16 aircraft. Flaps doesn’t work. Nose gear suspension doesn’t work. Everytime I land the plane, the nose hits the ground. Please solve the issue.

Great update!. I really liked this game and after I updated I love it even more! Love the tomcat option and the numerous camera angles you can watch yourself landing on the carrier. Fun fun fun. Love it!

Great Potential buts Short. Graphics are good and concept is well thought out, however fellas iron our the bugs. On my iPhone I can't get past mission 1 as I can no longer adjust the throttle speed to clear the carrier, it is permanently stuck on idle. On my iPad half way through mission, the app keeps rebooting itself back to the start of the mission. I'd avoid spending money on this app until they sort out what appear to be some pretty significant bugs. Deleting and reloading just seems to set up the same and different bugs. Please fix this!

Great game but.... The game is great and quite realistic, however you need to buy so many planes and there is no option to add rudder controls. Rortos are very bad at satisfying customers, they make a new game make u pay for it, give you about 50% of the content then after a few months, they never update it again. Get Carrier landings pro it's way better. No in app purchases, rudder control is Available and let's hope that rortos satisfies customers by continuing to add content to games we paid good money for.

F18 Carrier Landing. Worth 5Stars could do with a mission with actual shooting or perhaps a mission with bombing some items , towns, ships, airstrips ,or may be 2 of the above , that would be very nice . ( perhaps a helicopter gun ship with all the trimmings )

Fantastic!. Fantastic game, definitely worth it. But just a few requests - Better crash effects and more maps!

Update bugs. The update has stuffed up the aircraft controls - everything is reversed and can't be reset. Eg tilting iPhone up should pull aircraft up, tilting iPhone down should put aircraft into a dive, and tilting iPhone left should allow aircraft to roll right but you can no longer set it this way. Crazy

Stats keep resetting. Awesome game, so much fun but my stats and achievements keep resetting, also it would be awesome if a dogfight mode is be included so u can play against other people and the AI

So worth it. I usually don't write much for reviews but his game is addictive. I love love love this game. It too much fun. The action replay with different video angles is great to watch. There's beauty in watching the landings. Only critique is that it would be good to have a fast forward button or a 15s replay because 30s is too long. And a 5s rewind button. I like that there's cross wind landings too but haven't worked out how to kick the nose around and land straight yet. If you like landing planes this is great. It's simple, only with enough controls for the job.

I Feel the Need for Speed. Awesome game. Play it everyday. I suggest ejection for when you are about to crash and maybe some different terrain/maps. Overall top stuff

Discipline the carrier. Great game, I really enjoy but find three frustrations. The carrier should communicate its current heading and relative wind, particularly for night landings where it becomes visible late. The carrier of tens alters course without warning during the approach. Not very realistic. The ILS view is not stabilized so it is of little value for replaying an approach. Overall though, great fun & one of the best $5 I have spent.

Wow.. This is the best flight simulator I have ever played. Only 2 things to add. 1. Dogfights & bombs. 2. B2 Stealth Bomber & other bombers.

Really fun. You should get this game it is really fun .but the crashing looks really bad so if you made that better it would be 100👍.

High Quality Simulation. This game offers realistic scenarios whilst incorporating realistic flight conditions and limitations. The lack of violence makes it suitable for all ages. Maybe more carrier designs could be included in future updates.

Since update the game crashes. Have had this game for 2 years and love it. I bought all the add ons but since the last update a week ago it won't open now. I've tried everything!

Wicked. Great app/game. Addictive, I keep getting in trouble for always playing it and flattening the ipad.. Would love to see some dogfighting or something though.. Good work..

Great simulator. I without a doubt feel this is one of the best jet/plane simulators on the app store, there is only 2 negative things about this game: There isn't a wide variety of jets to chose from, and secondly there is only 2 maps, I personally would like to see more jets and maps in the future. If there was all of these things I would give stern 5 Stat for this.

Review. This is a really quality game, you will have a lot of fun while playing it. The one thing I would like to see is an ejection mechanic you can use to bailout if you are about to crash, that would be soooo good. Great game worth buying!

Expensive / limited features. $15 for landing and taking off No fights , boring and repetitive ! Rubbish

Good game but….. The planes with the vertical engine are so slow to take off, you have to make sure you have heaps of height before you rotate the engine or it will stall and you'll crash. You should be able to rotate from any height and not crash. Suggestions: 1. Have a fuel burning effect, like smoke or heat coming from the engines. 2. Have different maps, (just ocean with aircraft carriers, desert, jungle ect) 3. Have more weather effects (severe wind, hail, snow) 4. Have the option for planes to have a fuel tank, where you have to fill up after flying for so long (make sure it is a player option though for those that don't want to fill up)

It's great but needs improvement. It's an great app with physics but you pay the money in the start and then you want us to pay more money to get another plane it's not fair. The physics are excellent and it's realistic but not to where a point you are worrying about cam the plane do this or am I going to crash. Overall it's great but the aircraft carriers need a little bit more thought as they pretty much turn 90 degrees really quickly and when your about to land and that happens its annoying but well done you have done a great job keep up the good work

Pros: - smooth, accurate physics - similar to FSim shuttle in AppStore - dynamic flight model - high quality sound - high resolution graphics and internal, external and HUD views. - good cloud and scenery textures. Cons: - missions need some complexity - no weapons systems modelled - unrealistic radar and targeting - no option to change weather effects Suggestions: - model weather - i.e. different clouds, storm, rain, etc - add missions - model weapon systems - add surface and sea targets - add failures - add accurate targeting and radar - background ATC - female voice for GPWS and stall warnings. Great job! Try their other games with naval ships, also superb.

Cool game. I like it a lot but I am confused a little about how it saves? Also I purchase the bigger game within the game but didn't notice a difference. It could be just me. Not sure.

Hampered by camera issues.. It’s a pity the third-person/chase camera is wonky and doesn’t lock behind your aircraft by default (as in Ace Combat, HAWX or basically any arcade flying game ever). Otherwise it’s a great little time-waster with a couple nice maps and quite a few solid aircraft choices. But that lack of a decent chase camera sucks a lot of the fun out of it.

Some suggestions. Hello, I really love flying your simulator, but there are a few planes that you might consider adding - such as the S-3 Viking, the C-17 Globe Master, and the PBY Catalina. Please take this into consideration and keep up the great work!

Loads of fun!. Well made app with great graphics and realism. A little limited with number of flight tasks but still a fantastic start and very entertaining. Flights controls are rather minimal compared to full fledged flight sims, but still a very enjoyable app!

Needs more missions and planes. This is a top notch game. Once you get the hang of landing these 2 planes, it's not difficult. There needs to be missions that are a bit more challenging and of different types. A few other planes would would be great too. If this app was updated with these suggestions, this would be the best app out there. The controlls are good ( not to complicated) and the sensitivity using my I-pad is great. The graphics are great too. Thanks for a good apps. Let's make it better.

Greatest time sink!. I hate to admit how much I enjoy this simulator. I'm a busy guy with little time to waste, but this vicarious flight experience brings me back to my US NAVY days. Only thing I'd like to see ( probably available on Web) is a flight instruction manual advising ideal altitude, velocity, approach angle, throttle settings, flaps settings, at specific distance from touchdown to enable improvement by other than "trial & error" which, in the real world, is not the best way to learn. In any case, I'm already addicted. Thanks and keep it up!

AOA & fhrottle quadrant needs work. Naval Aviator input here - admittedly an A4 driver however the back of the boat and the meatballs not different. Like the concept. Improve the AOA Indexer display and relationship to the real approach that's what we fly by - green is on proper AOA (speed) power is rate of descent - Also throttle quadrant is way to small for the subtle adjustments you require EVENin the game. Suggest that it should almost take the entire left screen edge length. Might add vibration as you approach stall and clicks or something to indicate you're in AB. Gets better with each release focus on flight physics.

Wow! Love the new graphics.... Ok, I am surprised that some people don't like the update. I love it and looks great on my iPhone 5. Wish the AppStore will have more of these games. I'm in the Navy and work on a carrier flight deck. Only thing I will like to see added is when landing on the flight deck of the carrier to actually see the wire pull out; more realistic. I have all my buddies on my ship playing this game. Great game and I highly recommend this game to all!

Simulator Purchase?!. I used to love this game like many others and have given it 5 stars in the past. My favorite thing was the simulator but now even if i had it before the last update i need to buy it? That doesn't make sense to me. Also like many others I had carrier landings once and preferred this one because the graphics were better, the physics were more accurate and the setup was better. But now you make it so much like carrier landings that I can't see a difference half the time. I urge you to PLEASE REVERT TO THE PAST UPDATE! It made the game much better than it is now. I'm especially past that I have to buy the flight simulator now even though I had it before.

Awesome but still can improve. Recently they improved the cockpit, I sometimes even fly completely in the cockpit view as speed, location, altitude are the depicted easily especially on F35 it's amazing. Perhaps a new terrain and changing weather system old truly make this the new fighter app ... Overall I still give it a 5 because recently they improved that vertical flight on the F35 .... It's freaking awesome.

Was great; now it's not playable. Only possible to play with a single iPad orientation (app does not rotate with the iPad)... Developers added this upgrade without notice... Wrong orientation from my perspective but clearly the developers know best :( You can no longer keep score and attempt to achieve a high score because now the landing competition uses a running average of the last ten flights... No cumulative score. Again, developers knows best and made no mention in their upgrade notice :( Good game, was great...but the developers know best and have no concerns about offending their current users or degrading game play... We (the current paying user base) are always challenged by "upgrades" from this developer

Love it. There are some issues but they're livable. Sometimes the planes will jump when flying, and the control of the Harrier is super basic. One should be able to adjust the exhaust nozzles and be able to adjust them at any speed. Also when hovering i would like to be able to control the aircraft instead of just flying straight. I really like this app alot. More maps would be cool and perhaps some acrobatic missions would be cool. FOR THOSE WHO CANT LAND: Patience... When approaching point the nose down between 5-10 degrees, engage flaps and decrease your speed so that when you're just about to land on the runway you are flying under 200mph.

Great. On iPad 3 it's amazing. Best $ spent. You can change so much of the scenario and difficulty levels. It's the most realistic app on iTunes. Amazing. Full simulation mode is crazy. Set the scenario for night, fog, clouds and in the canyon... it's like blacking out the windows and flying only by instruments and only dim moonlight on the canyon walls. Upgrade Aug 2013 let's you fast forward you landing replay and upgrades to the look of the cockpit. And can view your landing from different angles. Recommendations: It took me awhile to figure out the radar, meaning the approach direction triangle as you get in a particular distance. As its vital, please include it in the tutorial. I bought the vertical flight jet but a tutorial on it would get me on track.

Simulation mode critique. Love the game! However, when in simulation mode and inverted, a roll to the left commands a turn to the left at roughly level flight (I.e. -1 G and zero VS) as observed by the pilot. It should command the opposite as in upright flight at 1 + G--the turn should be to the right as observed by the pilot (though the same direction of turn on the DG as in upright flight). The normal force is still in the same direction as upright, which is why the same roll command upright or not yields the same direction about the horizon. Very small gripe, just want to assist in making everyone's gaming experience as realistic as possible. Other than that, five stars!!!

Excellent, fun game. I just love this game. Reminds me so much of the flight sims I used to play on SNES all the way to playstation, and I mean that as an absolute compliment. From the graphics, to the music, to the controls, there is little I can find fault in this game, it is just so much fun. The latest update, which I did not expect is also wonderfully executed. Nothing was taken away, it has simply been made better all around, and i love that you added new features, which most other companies would have charged for, thank you! I also really enjoy Air Navy Fighters and look forward to more games. The game engine is just so perfect for this platform. This is surely one of my top five games in iOS.

Awesome graphics, very realistic!. Love this game. The graphics are amazing. I love that the game is not your typical shoot-em-up slugfest, but is instead built around the sheer pleasure of flight. Great for parents looking for a game that will appeal to kids without being violent. The only annoyance is the inane radio instructions, which are repetitious and annoying, but you can switch those off in the options. Would also be nice if the written instructions were grammatically correct.

Gets better with every update. Would still love to see more realistic landings. Give a landing analysis with tips and a pass / fail - The graphics are great id like More realistic missions- and I think the physics and landings needs a bit more work ... Show Damage on plane , wheels , wings , nose, tail ( landing too steep of angles ) , etc. with hard & bad landings... With that bring said in confident there will be updates that include some if these and for that I support this app and its makers. Purchase in app planes !

Stupid fixed wing wanna beeees. Well. I rate the game 5 stars. All of you self professed pilots that pick the game apart for its functionality amaze me. What do expect. Your playing a Flight SIM game on your iPhone/iPad. If you want more realistic there are lots of options for your PC. Better yet, move to Eglin AFB, FL. I heard they have a great Flight SIM at the new Lockheed F-35 training center. I like the new HUD. It's a nice feature. I also have my pilots license BTW, although its ROTARY, the same BASIC principals of flight apply. It boils down to this. The game is a great time passer when you got a few minutes to spare while your dropping a deuce. So chill all you nit picking fixes wingers. It is what it is. A cool game.

Great improvements but.... I love this game even before v5 but with the new pan around cockpit feature you would think if you push left it would look that way? Nope, it's inverted. This should be a very simple fix and it's the only thing I was looking forward to when I was reading the patch updates. The graphics are well improved and the radio chatter adds some life to the flights. Cockpits look 5x better but with the backasswards viewing it is somewhat of a pain to look around considering that almost every if not all touch screen games look left when you swipe left. The game itself still gets 5 stars even with my one gripe. It's fun and does as intended (You land planes, if you are like me when playing the Ace Combat series and enjoyed RTB just so you could land on the carrier durning certain missions, you'll love this game.)

Absolutely awesome. I would write a long review but I can't put the game down long enough to write one! Addicting and fun. Well worth the money - has become my favorite game on my iPhone and iPad - though it's easier to fly on iPad. I do wish there was a bit more instruction on settings like sensitivity and difference between simulation and the other setting but game play is a blast. Landing has always been my favorite part of flight sims and this nails it. Not stupidly easy like some sims. I do wish the plane had better brakes on the ground - it's really pushing it on some runways and the plane exploding if it rolls off is a bit extreme but all in all love love love this game. Nice work folks!

Amazing Game. This game just keeps getting better and better. The graphics are awesome and the way the game plays is even better. For example, when landing on the high altitude landing strips, it takes longer to stop because of the thinner air--and the game is true to that. Everything has been considered. I also like how, in the cockpit view of the F14, the plane moves just slightly different from the cockpit cage. It's a subtle thing but adds so much to the experience. You will not regret your purchase.

Bring back the old features!. I loved this game and would have given it 5 stars until the most recent update when they basically made it just like Carrier Landings (another Rortos game). I have Carrier Landings and preferred this one because I think the slow speed flight model was better, the sight picture and speed on approach was more accurate, and I used the "LSO view" after every landing to learn improve my Landings--now those are missing. Please bring back these features so I can give you 5 stars again!

Good, but needs some fine tuning. As a hardcore simulator enthusiast, I bought this app with the hopes that it would act as a mobile simulator. I'm not disappointed, but there are a few things that could use improvement. It's good to know that there's a normal and simulator mode. So if you're not like me, the controls are simplified. Here are a few things to improve in the simulator mode: •no auto rudder. Instead, give us buttons to do so. •check to see that ailerons and elevators are moving according to the change in attitude. The F-14 elevators, for example, turn the wrong way. •improve the F-14 landing gear animation. The ones for the greyhound and hornet are beautiful, but the tomcat's animation is bland. •at slower speeds, make a smoother transition in the angle of attack. Because unless you are right above the stall speed, it feels like you're flying at cruising speed. •smoother transition to stalling •change the altitude measurements. Altitude is not measure at how far you are from the ground, but how far you are from sea level. •when you're flying upside down, turning left and right is switched. If you lower the right wing while upside down, you will turn to the right and not the left like it is now. But other than these minor details, it's a beautiful app. The detail on the aircraft is good, the weather visuals are nice, and the ability to land is nice. Also a good physics engine build in for crashes, which is also a plus.

Make it MORE challenging!. Hey Rortos, amazing app! After the last update the flight engine is off, when you bank at slower speeds you gain altitude...you should lose altitude AND airspeed. A few suggestions for next update: fix the flight engine, add ILS, rudder, and separate arresting hook controls to practice touch and go's on the carrier, and make the night settings MUCH darker. We should not be able to see the carrier or runways as clearly as daytime when it's night time. Also, can you add visibility controls to the overcast/fog controls? It would be nice to be able to further decrease visibility for bad weather. It also seems that when you set clouds and fog during the night setting they don't do anything...fix that too please. Great app!!!

Good sim but lacking. This is a good sim and fun to play. That said I only gave it 3 stars because it needs rudder peddles to control the yaw more effectively. Also it lacks an ILS system that would be even more beneficial to navigating landings. Until you fly over your target landing zone, you have no idea of what heading you need to land. Chasing a glide-slope needle would also add to the land challenge as we'll. Not just this flt sim, but all flt sims need a fuel gage. You can't fly at full throat land expect to stay in the air for ever. Fuel consumption should be based on fuel flow. The faster you fly more fuel you burn the less time you have. Lastly speed on most any sim lacks reality as dose this one. When you fly 150 kts at 200 feet the ground rushes by fast.. At 1000 kts at 200 feet the ground is a blur and it takes but seconds to travel 10 miles. If flying speed and g force are related the faster you fly the more g's you pull in a turn and risk blacking out. Same goes for pushing over, you would "red out". Enough said. It is what it is and that is a game and in its current ver. Worth the small price to pay to play. Semper Fi.

Great Game W/ A Funny Glitch. So I absolutely love this game with the new scenic area. However I found a very funny glitch. If you play free flight in the canyon scenery and play the re-fuel challenge after refueling try finding the carrier to land on and about 50% of the time the carrier is in a funny place one time it crashed into land and the next it was flying in the sky. I thought about publishing the screenshot image on FB. you may want to fix it otherwise it is pretty humorous. Other than that its a great game.

Not bad. Wow. A lot of complaining in these reviews, but I've had the game for a long time and this game is CONSISTENTLY updated with huge upgrades. The tomcat was a welcome surprise, so great job there. And overall, its really fun! Some points of improvement: - simulation mode is A LOT better than the other, but the controls are kind of sloppy. Especially with the new radar. It's super hard to read, and judge your position relative to the carrier. Situational awareness could be really improved if we could pan the camera in the cockpit. - Give us an HSI, or some kind of heading indicator. - an ILS. It's an iPad, I got it, not a 60 dollar sim. Nothing too crazy but some course line guidance would be awesome especially when there's fog or at night where your just shooting an approach to a green box on your HUD with no idea of where/how the carrier is oriented. - the menu controls. Pretty bad. Visually very nice though! Also it would be nice to know what wire you trapped without having to go back into the menu. That's all I have right now. Great game though. For the cost, its a great buy!

Awesome Sim, Give me more please!. Fantastic game and best sim I have found. Thoroughly enjoyable. Can set sim on easiest settings and just enjoy a nice flight on a beautiful clear day or kick it up a few notches and feel the anxiety of having to land on an aircraft carrier in a thunderstorm with heavy wind at night. Would love to see more maps, the ability to change landing site in flight and still end the game, other air traffic, and more aircraft to fly like the F-15, F-16, A-10, F-117. Yeah I know they're USAF and wouldn't be able to land on the carrier but who cares! I would pay for that in a heartbeat!

Great Starter flight game. After downloading the free version I purchased the game because it is fun and a good value. I am glad because I have had to delete and reinstall several times! Still has bugs? After playing a while landing on the bridge and road (not part of the challenge) a few more options would spice up the play. The graphics are decent, and you do not get weapons or an enemy. Overall I am looking forward to the developers next gen!

Nice. I have been playing this game ever since it came out, and I just want to say, congradulations! The amount of detail put into the cockpit view, like a working artificial horizon, or how there are 2 seats in the prowler is very nice. Also, I like how this isn't like other "flight simulators" it is hard to land, and takes practice. It's not a game that some COD addict can play, it requires finesse. It will take around 3 passes over the landing zone, before you can really land properly. Also, the graphics are good, and the 2 new planes are awesome! Keep it up!

The "D". Great game - love to see the osprey added as a purchase plane ..... If you really want to get wild how about adding a few more islands a distance away and giving us a high altitude aircraft like the SR - 71 to do recon with or the F - 117 and give us a bomb run mission or two. Love the flight platform love the game just continue to satisfy my need to give you money by giving me more planes. This game has so much room to grow I really hope the creators keep it coming and grow this platform. Perhaps allow us to design our own personal air base and make it multiplayer were we can spy on or raid other players on the game network attack there base or position our aircraft carriers around other bases. Very Good Game. This game is very good, it shouldn't be call a game, this simulator gives me great respect for us navy carrier pilots I see why they have to practice landing on aircraft carriers, it's takes a lot of concentration and skill to do that, I like flying and landing the most I haven't tried the refueling, but I haven't been flying lately and kind of rustily. But I truly love this app, I wish that you could have more landing strips to land on or your could create your own, that would be more fun, and the graphics could include building and moving vehicle that would be more realistic. And the carrier could further out to sea than close to the coast, but over all I love this app.

Tiny detail from 5 emphatic stars. The 3-D rendering, the simulation, the feel and wonderfully detailed environment are extraordinary. But my enjoyment is thwarted by the long distances and excessive time to the objectives. This is fine on the first mission attempt or so but in trying to succeed in the final, difficult task, usually landing, the needless wait to the last critical task is a boring waste of time that would be better spent playing this extraordinary game. An option in addition to "Restart" to resume at the same 30 second mark from which the replay was just recorded would make these games gems.

Must be fixed for full potential. Great game though I agree with darkh2os on all points. He did missed one crucial addition. You've got to have zoom and seat adjust in cockpit. Up, down, left, right, and most importantly, zoom in and out with pinch. If you add this feature along with ILS for advanced controls this will be by far the best carrier landing flight sim out there, maybe better then most PC or Mac OS's. It'll be impressive if you can roll out an update, soon. Thanks for putting this out there (and caring enough to maintain it)!

Update Issue. I have had this game installed for over 3 months now and absolutely love it. I just installed the new update today and noticed a few minor glitches. One to mention is the f-14 controls will no longer allow me to open and close the wings. Please fix. One option i would like to see for a little more realistic fill would be to keep the heads up display acting as the ground radar altimeter and the analog altimeter converted to an mean sea level altimeter which would be useful for mountainous flying.

Absolutely Amazing!. This game was already fun and entertaining, but now, after the improvements, it's simply phenomenal. They've drastically improved the graphics in all parts of the game. Water, ground and aircraft textures are all much, much better. I love the realistic shadows as well as the 3D cockpits. They've taken a game that was already fantastic and made it even better. Simply the best mobile flight simulator you can get.

great game.. This game is awsome I completed all the levels. The game is not that hard you just have to practice until you can pass the levels. I like the free landings and the mission training. Helped me alot with pass the levels and get better at them. Only one question do you guys have another game like this one or is their any way you can get helicopters or different kinds of planes or unlock more levels because I didn't give $1.99 for six levels and only one kind of plane.

Addicting. I have never had a problem with the game crashing. Every update is noticeable from lights, scenery, and cockpit. Looking forward to having a yaw option, voice command with tower for adjust lights and taxiing options, ground crew marshaling, different types of approaches and malfunctions such as catching the arresting cable at airports and pilot wave off lights. Overall, the game is addicting. Definitely need more challenges and challengers. :)

New game. You should make a new game with either bombers and bombing runs or you could do parachuting out of plane I some way like creating an eject button on the fighter jets and you also might want to do something with bouts and other things linked to the air craft carriers like maybe even a hover craft you also should add more helicopters to the helicopter game like many an osprey or cobra and others like that

More planes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. The best plane simulator in the App Store. But it could do more. This app has a lot of potential. It needs more planes and more maps. Maybe commercial planes would be cool. Or even helicopters. I don't know if it is worth $2. But if it had more content then it would be worth it. And I don't know where to go for app support, when you click the app support button it redirects you to a website that only shows you the products they have, it doesn't let you report your problem. I wish I had not bought it just because of the lack of updates.

F-18 Carrier Landing. This game is really fun and addicting, the only thing I don't like about it is that there isn't many planes to pick from. The game would be so much more fun if you could fly an Osprey, F-35, F-22 etc. Adding planes with VTOL capabilities would be awesome. Helicopters would also add a lot to the game (Pave Hawk, Hind, Chinook, Pave Low) and finally if there was some more scenery (buildings/boats/roads) or a bigger map the game would be more interesting. Over all it's great and really fun!

Great app, but it needs more.. To start off, I just have to say, I love this app, I spend most of my time on it when I can. I love how the Carrier has the "bobbing" action you'd expect and how the wind can make a simple landing tougher than an outgunned sortie. That being said, I do think it needs some more added to it to make it better. For starters, some new aircraft. US Naval: S-3 Viking E-2 Hawkeye (with AWACS) F-5e Tiger Russian: (First off, I wanted to say I liked the Mig-29, but we need newer planes.) Su-35d Flanker Mig-15 Fishbed Su-33d And above all, a Russian based carrier that has the "ramp" for launches. And something I think a lot of people can agree on, we need to have a multiplayer capability. Sure, it's fun to fly solo, but it's better to fly with a team or show off your moves. Great Now (almost) Better. I like the new update. The graphics are great, the controls are cooler looking, the new plane is the best. Can't wait until Air Navy Fighters gets the update. But! It lags (especially in cockpit mode), refuel is hard to complete (but a fun challenge), so I suggest making it slightly more easier. The Tom Cat lost the wing control. And I would like the create-your-own-scerano thing thats in Air Navy Fighters added. These needed to be (re)added and fixed. And for the next update with a plane i suggest the A-10 Thunderbolt. It has a top speed of 450 mph, turbo fan engines (like found on a jet), a vulcan cannon (I think), usually loaded with two missiles and six bombs and is primally used as a tank killer. My favorite plane so I'd appreciate if it was added. Thx! = )

My best game. Needs info on how to score better landings. Make T/O's more difficult with cross wind. Terrific game with real challenges. I love it Would like to know how to get better scores on landing each aircraft. I know third wire landings on carrier score best. I don't like the boxcar plane - how about a more challenging load aircraft on rough terrain. I know this is about carrier landings, but boxcar starts way out and is so slow. I usually just crash it and hope for better plane. The others are great. Also I never get great scores on landing F-22 and the Harrier. What do I need to do to get better scores on vertical T/O and landing planes both at airports and on carriers? This is much a training (?) app for us wanna-be's as it is a game.
