Liked the old version better.. I've been a long time fan of Mac Format, but the new version seems to be too crowded per page. Also, adding a bookmark doesn't seem work. Small things, but enough to make it not enjoyable to read.

If u have a question they have an answer.. I was really surprised to see the vast amounts of information in each issue. I was thinking it would probably be like every other product specific magazine and just praise and glorify everything that Apple does but not so with this publication. If there is a problem issue with a Mac product this Mag will tell you and then tell you the best thing to do fix or go around the problem. Of course, on the other side of the spectrum, they do make issue of the things that are new and worth hearing about that make life a little easier to deal with. My subscription remains on my wish list to my family when it comes time to think of a Christmas, birthday, or Father's Day gift. Keep up the good work!!

Couldn’t figure out how to navigate the trial issue. All I ever saw was the front cover. By tapping on that, a screen comes up with instructions saying to click the front and back arrows to navigate—but there aren’t any when the issue is full screen—and swiping to turn does nothing. Good magazine, but a poorly implemented app, it seems.

Mag appears on newsstand....well before the iPad. I've seen the July issue on the newsstand for weeks now, iPad version is still showing June. This really needs to be fixed.

Great app. This is my first foray into Mac Magazines and it's beautiful, interactive, and informative. Subscription price is okay-- rather expensive but I'm an Apple news junkie so I pay for it. Great quality. Download and experience an app that has had thought out into it and executed with you in mind.

Awesome. I love this magazine, Very informative. keeps me up to date with the ever so fast changing technology.

Hard to Read. Since they removed the ability to change font size, it is all but impossible for me to read on my iPad Air 2. I really enjoyed it in the past in spite of the high price. I won't renew, and the print version here in the US is ridiculous. I don't have this problem reading other magazines I get from Zinio.

People complaining its not free.... Derrr, it's a Newstand Magazine subscription. Too many people expect everything to be free. Don't downrate an app because of your own ignorance.

Great mag. I've been reading this mag since the 90's and it's far and away been great. Useful articles and great writers.

Junk, not an app.. Walk away from this one. It's just a way to sell magazines. No info available without a subscription to one of this publisher's many mags. This "app" is a waste of time. Don't bother with it

Terrible App!. The new digital version is absolutely terrible (August 2012). Takes forever to download (even with a good internet connection). It's been going for 3 hours and is only 32% done!! No response from MacFormat either.

Terrible app. Future Plc makes terrible magazine app. It is almost impossible to get a subscription from them that will work on more than one device (iPhone and iPad). They seem to make you purchase the magazines more than once if you want to read it on your iPhone and iPad. You are better off subscribing to their pdf format...at least with that you can read on a PC and multiple devices.

Finally A Native App/Mag (not zoomed up PDF). I'm so glad we're moving past PDFs. Finally a native "magazine" that's an app. Suggestion: please add a bookmark feature!!!

Great info. This mag has awesome info, help, user forums, and the ability to ask questions directly.

Charged for free trial. I looked at this magazine a long time ago and got one issue liked it and deleted it because it was too expensive. Recently I got an offer from the company, from Mac format to get two free issues and then buy it it I liked it. This sounded like fun. I downloaded the two issues and discovered my credit card had been hit for the full amount of a subscription for the free trial was up. I will never be buying a magazine from this company again. Too bad, as I am an IT professional. This magazine would have been helpful.

Love it. What magazines on the iPad should be: pretty, interactive, intuitive. A joy to read.

Help!! help!!. Purchased a stand alone issue and it is not downloading! I tried all the things mentioned in the support area. Anyone else had this issue? If so how did you resolve it!! Please help!!

Screen Rotation. This App would get five stars if the screen flipped other then that it's awesome. I love the content you can't beat it. If you are not a Apple head this app is not for you..

The yardstick by which we should measure all iPad mags!. Perhaps a bit slow on the load, but it's worth waiting for – and hopefully load time will be fixed soon. Absolutely fabulous execution of content and interactive presentation. Not only does this mag inform, it does so with elegant style. Well-done, Bravo and Thanks!

Good magazine--not so good app.. This is a very good magazine, better than its American counterparts but the app is poor. Its main deficiency is not automatically notifying you of the new issue and usually you have to go to "help" and restore issues to get the new issue to download.

love the mag but app doesn't work right. mag is great but when I loaded in special preview of new iPad mag it will not lwt me go back to library or store to view other mags

MacFormat & Tap & Dig. Camera etc...... Your update is terrible. It is slow, it will not load and when it does load some bought mags have to be re-downloaded again which can take hours...Wish I had never updated! Please, please fix these problems Thank you, Jan Kennedy

Love the mag hate the app!!!. I simply love this mag, it's one of the best available but then there is the app. Unfortunately the app stands between the user and the mag! This app is slow with few features. Downloading is painfully slow and the subscription process, tracking and implementation are the worst. Customer service is not particularly helpful and all this for the most expensive mac mag I've found. Their mags are good everything else makes you feel like you're getting ripped off. To much work and patience required for such an expensive product. When this sub ends I'll go back to Zino for this mag, none of the problems there at least not in my experience. The app is just not very good and makes getting to the mag a painful experience.

Just beautiful. I don't write a lot of reviews, but I pretty much read exclusively on my iPads now. This newest Mac format is just beautiful. By far the best magazine app I have seen and I have about ten various mag subscriptions so I have a lot to compare to. Great work. Should be the model for all to follow.

Possibilities, but annoying.. Some of the content in this magazine is useful. However, be aware that it doesn't deal well with non renewal. It will keep showing up with new content (at a price) and is a pain to ignore. Suggest you avoid unless you plan to subscribe long term.

App crashes immediately when opening. The last update makes the app to crash and I haven't been able to make it work. I did uninstall and installed it again and keeps crashing.

Disappointed. 1. Its not free. 2. Why would pay the actual price, they are saving paper, delivery, ext, ext, now cut the price and half and might just consider buying it.

Major flaws. I love the Mac format magazine but the app has major flaws. For example tapping the screen doesn't bring up the navigation options. I DO NOT BUY ANY MAGAZINES UNTIL THEY FIX THIS. seriously, if you do, you will be disappointed.

No discount as advertised!. I see on the app that they are offering for a "Limited Time All Issues Are Half-Priced To Celebrate The Queens Diamond Jubilee"... But when you go to purchase, prices are the same! I like the magazine, and would like to take advantage of this offer but can't because it doesn't give the discounted rate! (Regular price for the individual or subscription rate is outrageously high for a digital magazine!)

Slow on an iPad 3. This app is frustratingly slow when opening the magazine, turning a page, scrolling or selecting a website.

Great mag, but pricey across the pond.... I'd like working bookmarks also, and this is my favorite current Mac magazine (not that many left). (I won't get started about a certain other online Mac mag with the infamous auto-start videos... ahem!) But with MacFormat, the subscriptions (digital or print) are more than I can justify spending that much money, so I skim over issues at a local bookstore, and only if there are enough good/usable topics to warrant the price. And the price for digital subscriptions is almost as formidable as print prices...!

Free app, good mag, bad subscribe prices.. The app is supposed to be free people. That's how newsstand usually works. What is stupid is the subscribe prices. I understand the print version costs a lot to ship to the USA but digital download get real.... Great mag though.

No way to close out magazines with navigation buttons.... I'll second the occurrence of missing navigation buttons. It wasn't a problem when I first got the app, but then it just happened out of nowhere. Tapping the screen will no longer bring up the navigation buttons required to close out the magazine and go back to the library. The only way to fix is to uninstall and reinstall and redownload all magazines.

I love this magazine!. This magazine is packed with useful Mac reviews and other cool and interesting articles. A must have for the Mac Addict, and I want to know your graphic designers/creative director, because the cover designs are always eye-popping.

Great Magazine!. I've read this magazine in print for years and I'm very happy to have it on the iPad. However, the app only contains low resolution scans of the magazine pages. Hopefully, they will update it when the iPad 3 arrives.

DISABLED. My iphone is disabled and it has to be connected to itunes

But it says "free". This is a brand new app and I thought it was the equivalent of a free magazine about Apple products but the download just gave me the opportunity to Subscribe to the magazine! I am disappointed.

Help! I'm stuck in the magazine!. I downloaded because I love the magazine, but like everyone else- I'm stuck in the iPad issue! I can't get out or access the other issues. Major bugs!

Incredibly Expensive. I can't think of another magazine subscription (print or electronic) that's as high as $65 per year. That's WAY too much!! Especially for a digital subscription that isn't any more than a scanned copy of the normal print version. If all you're going to do is duplicate the existing print version through another channel, lower the price and get some sales volume. You're missing out at these prices.

Bad magazine, bad app. Really regret paying for this. Magazine is light on content and they always show you Scroogle products shots. How bloody annoying! And the app is a mess to use, and you can't highlight or bookmark! I hate this UK magazine, a total POS.

Unable to get free digital edition of paper magazine Offer. Bought The Ultimate OSX Yosemite Handbook also offering a "free digital edition". Input the URL address & took mento the APP but no free download available even though it's supposed to be valid through 16th May 2016. Very disappointed.

Great Mag BUT. This is a great mag but the recent FREE New iPad edition has an exit issue. Once you've started reading the mag you can't get back to you other issues. Small problem.

But for the English. I stumbled across Mac Format quite by accident on the magazine rack at my grocers. I purchased their guide to my newly acquired Apple iPad Air 2. I downloaded the proffered digital copy. I can only find fault on one point. For a publication with a global market and outlook the slant is markedly English (British). The publication should be focused on the technology and be nationality neutral.

Press Releases. Mac Format read like a series of press releases with very little information about improving the user's experiences with new products, apps and services.

Best Mac Mag. This really utilizes the medium that it sits on. It is not just a digital version of the printed one, it was designed separately as an interactive piece. I love that I can now enjoy this in the states because I can no longer get the printed one (all the Brick and mortar bookstores are gone). This pub has the best content bar none. I always want to read every word.

Attention to detail. Awesome Layout and attention to detail! Always spot on with the info! Always enjoy digging through the info monthly!

1Gb download for magazine!!. Quite enjoy the magazine so thought I would get on newstand but discovered why took so long to download as it takes 1Gb of space!! Presumably due to all the video content. Should have stuck to Zinio

Latest app version is useless. Content is fine but version 6.0.6 now compresses all content into the area the size of an iPad mini in the centre of the screen. Which looks ridiculous on an iPad Pro. Not to mention being very difficult to read. Which means there’s no point in keeping a subscription any more.

Can't view library. Since last update and purchase of Facebook mag, I can not view my library of downloaded issues. Extremely annoying!

Great!. Really good app. Compare to the other newsstand app, the pages load really fast and the text are crisp on the iPad which is excellent considering some of the other apps have blurry text :)

Great Mag. Great mag on ipad

Simple and efficient. An easy and elegant way to buy, read and store a favourite magazine. Especially like the restore previous purchases, even when you unsubcribe permanently or for a time.

Good. It's a great magazine. The only thing that it is lacking is a book mark function so that you don't have to start over every time you go back into the mag.

Simply the Best!. I bought the Aug 2012 issue as a trial, and I cannot recall when was the last time I spent $2 and got so much pleasure, value, and style. The interactive design of the magazine is world-class. The whole experience feels so elegant and refined. And, I learned quite a few new things that never crossed my mind before! Highly recommended. I am definitely subscribing.

Crashes. Every time I try to read a magazine I download, it crashes, 2 weeks now.......

Print. It would be a good idea that you can adjust the size of the print at least have three option to make easy to see and read. I enjoy the magazine I brought the hard copy from the paper shop. But it getting bit on the dear side $22.00 Australian dollars. This might be good option.

Crashes during download since last update. I have been trying to download the latest version since the last update and it crashes and aborts before it is finished. Using an ipad mini.

Nice magazine but ....... it takes forever to download on my hi speed Internet wifi connection. I've had to delete app and start again twice now. I won't be renewing my subscription.

A must read / own / keep. This is by far the best magazine for Mac users novice and veteran alike. Excellent product and software reviews (for OSX and iOS) great tips and tutorials. The interactive app delivers a perfect magazine experience. I've been a subscriber for over a year and can't bring myself to delete even one edition.

Poor download speed. Download speed is terrible and often fails. Magazine content is good. But they need to fix the download problem which has been going on for several months.

MacFormat. I have been a Mac user since the original 1984 model. I have read/subscribed to many Mac magazines over the years. But there is no doubt that the print version of this magazine is the finest Mac magazine out there. Any Mac user will appreciate the many helpful tips/articles/reviews. nice and beautiful. MacFormat from UK on iPad has a different way to read about Mac ... the format of the mags and the subjects ... A nice reading for a Quebecois beside MacLife (sister mag) and MacWorld. Keep the difference !!!

Can't hate it more. It's waste of money. Don't buy it. I bought the November one, and it's talking about the rumor of release of iPhone 5 on oct 15. Come on.

Voucher code not working. After I downloaded the app from an email I received from you all I tried to use the voucher code provided. After 3 attempts I deleted the app and reinstalled it thinking that would allow it to work, once again it didn't so I deleted the app off my phone. When you all have something that you want printed make sure that it works before its release. I would have loved to be a subscriber but now I am just a statistic of people who have deleted the app.

Objective Review. I like MacFormat and its iCreate counterpart. In print form this magazine cost is very high for U.S. Subscriber as it originates from U.K. I waited until the app sub was reasonable and then subscribed. I recently renewed. I used to buy individual issues with the app again,because print issues run about $15.00 . Subscription price with app is a bargain! Both magazines offer great info and supplement my MacWorld sub(also via iTunes). Digital copies are better than hard print. They are easy to refer to at any time within several clicks from my library. Beats pouring through a stack of back issues. I will definitely renew as long as digital subscription price remains reasonable. Oh, on a hardware note I am using a 3rd gen iPad 8.1 and have no issues viewing,downloading or archiving issues. O

Great magazine but too expensive. It's my favorite Mac magazine to read but it's simply too expensive. With a brother in the struggling publishing industry I understand all of the problems. I know how much work it takes to produce an electronic version of a magazine. I am completely aware that for the most part the physical production of a book or magazine isn't as large as what people think. In number of pages and amount of content MacFormat has no equal. However, I simply can't justify that much money each month for a magazine that will still only take an hour or two to digest. Per issue it is 6.99 and per year it is 65.99 for a savings of $18. However, if you wait one month and purchase the back issue for $5.99 then the yearly savings is down to $12. It's subscription savings is simply not compelling enough. Instead I will be a 2 or 3 times a year purchaser for the issues that appeal. In the meantime I will continue with the other Mac magazines that are lighter on content but are also a fraction of the price.

Brilliant. Without doubt the cleverest 'MacMag' out there. Great info, links that actually work and I love the interaction - sad, but I sit for hours scrubbing the virtual wipe board! For once, I even prefer this magazine to a hard copy. Only slight downside, it sometimes has a glitch downloading, but deleting and starting over again fixes it - oh yes, great customer service too and shy not - they're British!
