App has lots of bugs. I downloaded this app after purchasing a 2022 GR86. When I first got the car, the app worked really well with connected services, and then one day my remote connect completely stopped working. If I tried turning on the car, the app would spin forever and give me an error. There is terrible support documentation for the connected services and often takes multiple calls to get working. I called in and was redirected a few times and finally was instructed to call in my car. After calling using the SOS button in the car, I tried getting them to disconnect and reconnect the car to my account multiple times, none of which worked. Brought my car into the dealership and they had no idea where to start to get this issue fixed. Said it would take multiple days in the shop just to reboot the computer and troubleshoot and I decided the convenience of the app was not worth the headache. Car behaves and drives perfectly fine, just no connected services.

Slow loading; Pricy. First thing first, I have the remote engine start feature etc. Which they charge you around 80 dollars a year, 80 dollars per year really doesn’t count as a thing but for something/some product that process like crap I’d pay 0 for it. Every time you try to lock/unlock or start your engine via phone app you’ll have to wait for the app to respond to your command that takes up minutes long… looking for my keys would be faster tbh… Edited: Also forgot to mention one more thing, although the app reminded me very quickly that I forgot to lock my vehicle, when you enter the Toyota app, it takes forever to refresh/update the vehicle status, it’s stuck from 10-20mins ago. So I’d have no idea if my car is successfully locked or no, not if I keep manually refreshing the page for over 5-10 minutes, I could’ve just got up and walk outside and lock the vehicle with my key fob myself instead of waiting for the app to respond. I can’t say this enough, the status literally won’t refresh, it takes forever and the message just pops up saying it’s taking longer than usual please try again later, lol imagine in this gap of time my vehicle is stolen because I forgot to lock it and your status won’t update?

Finicky remote start. This is a great idea but not executed well. My remote start usually fails because my wife doesn’t lock her car when she gets home. I’ve installed cheap remote starts on my other vehicles that work 99% of the time with a two-way remote that doesn’t require a subscription from almost a mile away. For the $8 per month, it should always work. You probably need to just combine the lock and remote start feature like every other remote start. It would also be nice if it ran longer. We live in Alaska and 10 minutes is not enough time. Maybe add a setting for 15 or 20 minutes? I’m also constantly getting “check your rear seat” notifications. We have two car seats in the middle row and the back row is folded down all the time. There should be a setting to zero the weight on the seats or add a car seat option. I bet most people that buy a Highlander have children so I’m guessing it’s a common annoyance.

All is good.. I purchased my Toyota RAV4 prime xse in march of this year. Though it is a 2021 that arrived on the same boats as the 2022 models, I wanted the adaptive headlights. there were rumors about it not being on the 22s even though it was stated on the spec sheets and window stickers. I was right to go with the 21, they were missing on the 22s. Anyway, I have avoided updating the app for many many weeks if not months because the old app worked beautifully for me. However, Toyota last week forced me to update if I wanted to keep using the app. Boy was I worried. Though the layout of the app changed and things aren’t as easy to locate, everything is there and the functionality continues to be great. What I have done was update the app only on the iPad iOS system first to make sure the functionality continues before updating it on my iPhone. Though Toyota still needs to fix the app layout in the ipad, data overlaps in the app etc. things get covered up but the functionality is still there. I will cautiously continue to update the app, when forced that is. My car and the app communicate flawlessly with no delay. Once my free time ends in march of 2023 I will become a paying member. I thought I would write a review that was positive. Reading all the recent negative reviews would make new Toyota buyers hesitant to use the app. It works great for me!

Makes your brand new super expensive vehicle feel like a cheap piece of tech.. Toyota makes my favorite vehicles, I had my first Tundra from 2010 to 2020 and recently got a 2022 Tundra, I’ve always loved toyota for their reliability and capabilities. But this app and the expectation to pay $15 a month to use the features of a 50k$ plus truck is absurd, especially when the app constantly signs you out and takes 30 seconds to load every time you open it. I drove a Ram power wagon for a year and their app was free and everything worked seamlessly and quickly. Not to mention the key had a quick start double tap to pre-heat or cool your truck, a feature that has been standard in most vehicles for the last 5 years is now blocked behind a pay wall. This app is garbage and Toyotas entry into a subscription model to use features you payed tens of thousands for is not going to help what is otherwise a reliable brand.

Why is it so bad?. I don’t know why this app is so bad. It takes forever to load. And everytime—every. Single. Time. I get into my car it pops up and interupts whatever I am doing and asks to communicate with me car. Why does that happen EVERYTIME??? It clearly tells me my car is unlocked. And I go to it and it is locked. In the freezing cold mornings I try to use the remote start and 9/10 times it says “sorry, it’s taking longer than usual to connect.” The car is in my driveway. I just learned that you can hit you lock button on the fob 3 times (holding it down on the 3rd try) and it will state the car. Why am I paying for an app???? Also, I don’t know who to complain to but apple play used to be so much better. Now when a text comes in—the car reads it but doesn’t mute the radio. So I can hear it. And then it’s already read so I can’t go back, turn the radio down and rehear it. The same thing happens when I compose a text. It doesn’t mute the radio so it picks up all this ambient noise. If anyone out there knows how to fix this I would be forever grateful. Thank you.

App does not work for me and nobody can tell me why. I got the app and I got a message that the doors were unlocked on my 2019 RAV4 hybrid. So I tried to lock the doors. I got a error message: Request could not be completed. Please contact your dealer for assistance (42). So I tried to start my car with the app and it started. The app shows my tire pressure, mileage, etc. but it will not lock/unlock the doors. So I went to the dealer and showed them that I can start the case but I cannot lock/unlock the doors. We pushed the button in the car for assistance. We were told that the app is connected to my car but there is a problem with the app and I was given a phone number to call. So I called that number yesterday. I was transferred 3 or 4 times and explained my situation to each person. Then I was told I needed to contact my dealer and the man offered to transfer my phone call to them. I’m glad this is a trial period because I will not be paying for an app that doesn’t work and nobody can tell me why or get it working for me.

An embarrassment for Toyota. This app is horrible and Toyota should be ashamed of it. The worst thing for us living in really cold climates is that sometimes it doesn’t start the car. It says that the car was started, but when you get there, the car is not running. When it’s 30 or 40 below, that’s not pleasant. Even if it did start, 10 minutes is often not enough. Let us select that time! Next, if I have a key on me, and an app, and I started the car from the app, why do you stop the car when I unlock it? You say it’s for security, but is your security so bad that someone could drive my car away without a key, if they can just open it? I can’t do that. To drive a car, the key needs to be inside. Don’t shut the engine if I unlock the car using a key or the app when I’m close to the car. The watch app is useless because the phone app has to be open as well. Why can’t I open and close windows? Why can’t I access the cameras? How about the gas mileage history? I could go all day. This app looks like you offered it is a project at a bad university, and then the worst team got this assignment. What are we paying for? The app is non-functional at this point. This app would be a 1-star app without dozens or possibly hundreds of reviews thanking “Ian” and “Mohammad” from Tyson’s Toyota for being awesome sellers!? What kind of scam are these two characters running? Why are you letting these reviews stand, while you deleted my previous 1-star review?

So Disappointed. I had the App, stayed disappointed & let my Remote Services expire. Decided to give it another shot & well, that was a literal week long fiasco to get operational again. Not to mention calls for assistance, communication barrier, forwarded higher up because no one can solve, week long wait so yeah...not pleased. Second time around & equally disappointed. Never stays working without having to start the sign in process all over, get verification codes, run downstairs to garage & scan VIN. Half the time, I don't even get the alerts as to vehicle (RAV) status. It might work, it might not on any given day. The amount this costs & sells itself as being able to do, compared to what I actually get is NOT worth it. Probably the most under-performing App I've ever had & I'm paying for that??? Don't advise I need to do "this or that." I repeat, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Works less this 2nd time around. I won't miss it when it expires.

Stop Advertising and Using my Location!. The new version of the app looks better but, as other reviewers have stated, some features are now harder to find than in the old version. The “announcement” that pops up on the screen every few days is very annoying. I have chosen to not share my driving data with insurance companies, so I don’t need the “announcement” about Insure Connect. No matter how many times Toyota asks, I will NEVER share my driving data with ANY insurance company, so just stop asking. Or, at a minimum, provide me a way to stop the “announcement” from appearing. Just like the previous version, this app will always use your location, even if the app is set to only use Location Services when I’m using the app. Every other app developer on the planet has found ways to not constantly track my location, so I don’t know why a company like Toyota can’t figure it out.

The latest update is awful. The previous version of the app was very useful and generally organized well. The latest update completely revised the interface and it is awful. Very difficult to use, links and words mushed together and generally unintuitive to use. The revised app places priority on unimportant and rarely used functionality like insurance policy's or scheduling a service visit. These are in your face but the important links like current vehicle location, tire pressure, sunroof and window status, mileage, remote start, door locking etc are very hard or even impossible to find. No excuse for this. I was planning on keeping and paying for the Toyota remote services subscription once my trial expired but not anymore. Toyota cut your losses and please go back to the previous version! Go back to the previous version! Go back to the previous version. Go back to the previous version. Go back to the previous version. I cant say it enough! And yes i left feedback through the app too! 8/1/23 update. The app is now fully functional again but wish it didn't have advertising in my face. Not only do i pay for the yearly service but the advertisement banner gets in the way of the app controls

What happened?. This app use to be great. I have a 2020 Prius so it didn’t unlock the doors; however, the app was useful for seeing fuel level, odometer reading, and TPMS data with a diagram indicating tire position. It sounds as if those features have been rolled into a paid subscription as the app photos in the App Store still show those as options. Since my car doesn’t really fit the subscription paradigm, those useful bits of information are no longer available in my case. All I have is an image of the car and options for service, roadside assistance, and the manual. I’m extremely disappointed. It’s bad enough that the qi charger in the car never really worked; the gps app and Alexa were always spotty and seem to be phased out; but now, this an app that was once useful, reduced to basically a still image and credit card advertisement. Please revert the fuel, odometer, and tire pressure sensor readings to the basic features and restore the usefulness of this app. Otherwise, I don’t really see a need for keeping it anymore.

C’mon, Toyota…. What a terrible, terrible app. Let’s start with the basics: to do anything, you’re paying $8 a month. Start your car? $8. See your car on a map? $8. Lock/unlock your doors? $8. Aaaaaand now we’ve reached the end of what this app can do. Literally useless. Did you forget to turn your AC on during the morning commute, remote start your car from the office expecting it to cool down, and then realize that you can’t actually adjust climate from the app? Ask me how I know. Did you tap the start button from your door (a 3 minute walk away) only to be at your car before the app actually manages to send a command? Ask me how I know. Did you open the app, have to acknowledge the “technical issue” with monitoring tire pressure from the app for 10,000th time, then wait 2 minutes for it to load your car details so you can actually do something? Ask me how I know. Did you notice your phone running so hot you thought it would catch fire, then notice the blue location-request icon in the corner and see the Toyota app running in the background 45 minutes after you left the car and walked away? Ask me how I know. This app is a piece of garbage. Ball it up, light it on fire, back over it with your RAV4 terrible. I really hope Toyota improves it, but I don’t have high hopes.

Once your tires are rotated, the app is useless. Had my first service with tire rotation. About a week later, I get a low tire light. Pull up the app to see which one, and go to put some air in it. I don’t see the number changing so I put in more air, that’s when I notice a completely different tire is going up in pressure and I have gone a ways above the normal pressure. So then I go around inspecting all tires to see which one is truly the low one. That’s when I found a screw in a completely different tire, the one the app was telling me I overfilled. Had to get the tire replaced and all tires set back to factory specs. The service guys said they have no idea why the app is not connecting the tires to the right location and there is nothing they can do for it. Tried to send a comment through the Toyota website regarding this problem, only once I enter in all my information, the submit button doesn’t work. Just poor design and customer support all around.

PHEV charging report data are very wrong… plus…. I just started using this app with a 2022 RAV4 Prime XSE and am underwhelmed with the user experience for the battery charging history/scheduling/etc. Most disappointing is that the charge history info that is reported is just bad (erroneous) info. It reports incorrect start and end charge state percentages and many entries have bad time stamps. Some charge events seem missing and others are sortof duplicated. These may be due to bad handling of time stamp data in the software…. Point is, this is inexcusably buggy. Why would I be happy paying $8/month for the Remote Connect subscription service, just to be able to monitor bad info in a clunky interface? That said, the other features of the app seem to work ok (door locks, etc). So much of the app just leaves me feeling Toyota’s heart really isn’t into making this a great app at this time.

Working good so far. UPDATE*** I was at the movies, the credits started to roll, and I took my phone out to remote start, and it worked from inside the theater first try. I think the reason I’m having so much success with this app isn’t making sure The vehicle status is updated. Sometimes it says last updated and it was the last time you use the app or vehicle. Swiping down where it says vehicle status will refresh the status. I did that in the theater before trying to remote start. Like I said it worked right away. OP: I just purchased a brand new 2022 Corolla Cross, so far the app has worked for me. Twice it told me it failed to remote start the car and I tried it again right away and it worked the second time both times. A family member of mine has a 2020 Camry and has tried to use the app for years and has only had frustration, so I understand why the app is rated so low and I have my fingers crossed maybe it is on the upswing because of my early successful experiences using it. If I start to experience what my family member did and what the majority of the reviews on here have, I will adjust my review. also, since I got my car, the family member has had success with the app too. It is unacceptable for Toyota to produce an app like what this has been so far. It should be a great app and work every time. I hope this is the first of many positive reviews.

This app is a pain, and leaves us wanting so much more. The idea of the app is fine in theory, but there are so many issues that make it the biggest pain to use. First, it takes over a minute to load each time, and half the time it doesn’t load properly and you have to restart the process over again. Secondly, the lock and unlock buttons regularly don’t work, and will send alerts that my car is unlocked, then when I go into the app I’ll try to lock it and I’ll get a message saying “the car is already locked”. WHY, that just makes me worry for no reason! Also if you press certain buttons the app will completely freeze up and you are forced to once again close it and restart. Also the app will crash itself if you try to lock the dang car! Finally one of my biggest gripes is you HAVE to allow it access every single time you turn your car on, if you don’t, apple car play won’t connect, and you Bluetooth won’t pair properly. Overall, Toyota needs to overhaul this app because it is garbage.

Not Bad, but can use improvements. So far, it’s done what I’ve needed in an app for accessing my car. I am on the 1 year free trial, and I can access my car locks and get updates on my car’s current location and status. However, the app is quite buggy. My car status sometimes does not stay up to date and will tell me the car is not locked but that was from 10 minutes ago and did not update unless I specifically tell it to refresh. The worst bug is when the app flickers after being on in the background for awhile and I just have to restart the app every time. Sometimes it doesn’t take input from finger swipes or taps and will take a minute before I can even force quit the app. I hope new updates will be made to fix these bugs!

Disappointing -- Toyota can do much better. Just got a Grand Highlander and at first I was impressed. Nice app, can unlock my car from it and start the engine, etc. Within a few days problems began. The app bothers you to connect to the car every time you start the car. You think, do I have to? If I don't, can I still use CarPlay? Bluetooth? Can't tell. It failed 5-6 times to download the digital key. Does not instill confidence since it's *the car key* and has to work all the time. Once it's successful, to start the car, you need an internet connection and their remote connect service. So how does it work when signal's low or there's network trouble? It doesn't. So it's not worth much. The wifi trial bothers you *every time you open the app* to sign up. Annoyed by it, and want to cancel? The app just kicks you out to AT&T's website which only prompts you to sign up for an account. Most egregious, on 6-7 occasions now, the app has completely crashed in the worst way possible by entering a state where the screen flickers endlessly, and I have to *force reboot the phone* to recover. That's right -- I can't switch apps or force kill the app. And this is a modern iPhone 14 Pro. Embarrassing for Toyota. The app's obviously designed for upsell and not much else. How they release it with a straight face, I don't know.

IPad app does not display properly. Latest update to app causes an over enlarged image on iPad Pro. Prior versions scaled to fit larger screen on iPad just fine. Obviously not tested on large iPad screens. It was working fine until this latest update on 4/1/22. iPhone version no longer displays odometer reading. This feature worked in prior versions. 5/4/22 update. App updated today. Image on iPad Pro still does not scale properly making information at the top unreadable. Properly displays the following items: odometer, distance to empty, lock/unlock buttons, start button, vehicle status, health & alerts, service appointments, last known location shown on a map. If you could just fix the display issues on the iPad Pro next.

Really disappointed. I love my new Tundra and I hate, hate, hate this app. It took 40 minutes of customer support to get it working and connected. Once I got connected I came to understand that my new $65,000 truck has features that I paid for that will only work for a year until I’m forced to choose to give up or pay a yearly subscription fee. I can’t believe it! I resent this so much that I’m beginning to wish I hadn’t bought from Toyota. Also, the “big brother” aspects of this app are positively scary. So far I’m seeing this app is slow, buggy and incredibly invasive. I plan do revoke all permissions I gave and delete the app. The features like remote start aren’t that important or worth the hassle. Oh, and get this, the remote start works but shuts off as soon as you open the door. How stupid is that!? My salesman tells me it’s a security feature so that no one steals the truck after it’s started. Well my F150 and Lincoln Continental manage to solve this. You can’t open the door of the running vehicle without the key fob. Problem solved! I really enjoy my new truck but this app is a huge disappointment and has greatly reduced my new purchase experience.

SOoo FRUSTRATED by this app!. TODAY- the app decided to lose ALL my information on my vehicles and myself! I can’t get back into it, it says there’s a server error! It is -20* outside AND I CAN NOT REMOTE START MY VEHICLE! 🤬 Why have this if it doesn’t work? Why doesn’t Toyota put the remote start ON THE KEY FOB?! Then there’s no relying on satellites and updating computer software and servers! OMY TOYOTA!! Plus, can you please explain to me why my husband can’t be on the SAME app so when HE drives the VEHICLE HE can remote start it from his phone? It only allows for ONE person at a time!!! I bought this vehicle! It’s mine and if I want my husband AND myself to be able to remote start OUR vehicle then we should be able to!!! If I add him to the app as a guest then it kicks me off and I have to go through the ENTIRE process of linking my VIN to the app ALL OVER AGAIN!!! 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 Utterly RIDICULOUS!!!! This is by far my most favorite vehicle I’ve owned in my entire life- but this app IS STUPID!!!!!

User unfriendly. This version continues the trend of over complicating the user interface, hiding what should be the top-level summary under ads for secondary products and services, if the information is available at all. For instance, if I want to know if my car is done charging I should be able to simply run the app and see it. Right now the app says it is 80% charged. Currently the car is sitting in my driveway plugged in but it is obviously finished, with 3 LEDs lit on the dashboard and the charging port LED dark. The app is probably showing old information from earlier today but there is no indication of the last time the app contacted the mothership to sync info, and no way for the user to initiate a resync. In this case I can simply walk to the car and look but at work the parking lot is 3 blocks away. Since my car’s battery capacity is small I would like to be able to find out quickly and reliably what the current state of charging is so that I can move my car out of the charging slot to give someone else a few hours of charge. This app doesn’t let me do that. Finally, the app is huge, nearly 400MB for the app itself and with another 100MB of data.

It’s just not useful and it doesn’t work well. First, it can’t do all that much. It can lock/unlock doors and remote start. *If* I set a charging schedule in the car then it will allow me to turn that schedule off from the app but I can’t turn the schedule back on from the app or edit it so if I decide I want to change the charging schedule I need to go sit in the car, turn it on and use the dashboard menu to do it. Second, it’s really hit or miss as to whether it does the the few things it is able to do. Sometimes the app succeeds in locking the doors, other times it times out. How far away from the car I am doesn’t seem to matter. I haven’t tried the remote start yet but what I’d prefer is some way to control the climate prep from the app, which is not offered as a feature so yeah, I could turn the remote start on if it worked but unless I’d set the heat/cool the night before I’d still have to go out to the car to set the temp so what’s the point? I bought this car 3 months ago so I’m assuming the app comes as a trial period, I would certainly never pay extra money for this app though. It’s really not worth anything. Wish it worked better and had more useful features.

Good intentions, poor delivery. I love everything about my Camry. It pains me to see how drastic of a quality difference there is between Toyota’s cars and their mobile technology (and this is coming from someone who works in the field). The mobile app is great when it works, the unfortunate reality is that it never works. Usually takes 4-5 attempts for the auto start to actually connect and work, and at that point I’ve invested 5-10 minutes in attempting to start my car. The loading logic is very slow, every attempt can take anywhere from 30 seconds to a minute. Very cumbersome when you have to do 4-5 attempts to get a successful response. On top of that, this is a paid feature. While I don’t mind paying $8 a month for the convenience, it’s very frustrating to pay this and arguably have the app never work.

I like my car and don’t like the toyota app. This app is way overpriced in my opinion. Toyotas are delivered with incredibly weak transponders which limit your range to the point where you may as well just walk to the car and start it by hand. Rather than improve the key tech they offer a pay app. The app will start your car and allow you lock or unlock your doors (most toyotas do not have lock on exit as an option). The app will let you know that you forgot to roll up a window or lock the doors. Rather than offer a common “lock on exit” function most other cars have, toyota offers a pay app. How about offering upgrades to the car and transponders? I would gladly pay 80 bucks to have my doors lock automatically when I walk away, and to be able to remote start from more than 10 meters. My office window is about 20 meters from where I park and the transponder fails to work at that distance. It’s ridiculous that you pay such a premium to have a reliable vehicle, and the solution to the cut corners attitudes are pay apps. How about just selling cars that function as advertised? I already had the dealership force an ATT plan on me to get hotspot functionality from the entertainment system. I already have hotspot on my phone and I don’t need that in my car. I don’t want to need my phone to open and start my car. This app should be offered for free as a consolation for the ineptitude of the vehicle designers to deliver the functionality you expect as part of the deal.

Zero stars. Why are the only 5 star reviews from Ian and Mohammed from some random Toyota dealership for setting up the app? It has nothing to do with the app itself. They are having every new customer add these reviews to artificially inflate the rating. How are my legitimate reviews constantly removing while these are allowed? Just create a simple app that actually does what customers want. Since you don’t know what that is, let me tell you. We just want to start our vehicles without spending 20 minutes fighting the app. We just want to be able to see the tire pressure, gas level, lock and unlock, mileage. We want to be able to have it run one remote start for more than 10 minutes. We want to be able to open the doors without the engine shutting off. Such ridiculous and unnecessary “safety features”. Please fire your entire development and QA team and hire some qualified professionals. I know 12 year olds who could create a better app than this…seriously.

Glitchy- left stranded. The digital key is glitchy & not 100% reliable. The idea is very convenient t to have your phone as the key- but I did get stranded about after one month of use. I have a 2024 Prius. Luckily I was home and grabbed the fob key, but I no longer trust it for long drives. Also what needs work is the look feature. When I park, exit, I hit the door lock button on the handle, but it never senses the digital key in my phone- so I have to open my phone, double check blue tooth is blue and not red on app, then open & close door and then the lock works. I even changed the sensory to be available at the max distance so that theoretically my phone could be in my purse- but it’s just glitchy and does t work well. I hope Toyota figures out how to improve it, whether on their side with the app or with communicating with iPhones. I was shocked that I’ll be expected to pay $80 a year for this service and that what I have now is just a one year free trial. I definitely wouldn’t pay extra for a glitchy key- but I’d be tempted if it worked well & was reliable.

2.0.2 fixed the Entune App suite. Updated review, the 2.0.2 update fixed the issues of the apps not connecting. It also auto connected when I launched the app after starting my Tacoma. Thanks to the dev team for applying the fixes within a few week(s) of the last update! Update for the developer who keeps telling everyone to submit feedback through the Toyota app. I tried to do that but I get the message: “Something went wrong. Oops, looks like something went wrong. Please try again in a few minutes.” Lol…how do you prefer that we tell you the app is broken? ——— Another unsatisfied customer confirming the 2.0.1 update breaks the Entune App suite. I cannot even access the setups. Pressing the App box presents a spinning circle and then crashes back to the main vehicle page. Was working fine prior to this last update.

App needs serious improvement.. I have always enjoyed Toyota’s products. But this app is borderline trash. The latest update straight up broke the feature to schedule appointments directly. That was one of the best functions provided. Plus it will randomly log me out of the app upon closing it without allowing for FACE ID to quickly log me back in. This is cumbersome when I am short on time and need to make sure I have locked my car after walking far away or I need to start it to cool off the inside and leather seats on a hot day. It pains to to include the subscription plan for remote start has also been crappy. First off the prices are a bit high up there for a simple remote start function when the software doesn’t even work half the time. It ruins my experience when I remote start the car during hot or cold days only to come to a car that didn’t turn on or it was on and then shuts off right when I unlock the door. It is very counter intuitive. Not to mention, three subscriptions instead of just one? It give the feeling that Toyota is shifting toward a heavy business oriented approach rather than the quality of service provided to the customers.

Truly Awful Actually. Let me start with this. It is absurd that I paid as much as I did for a Prius Prime Limited which is supposed to have the top technology and it doesn’t even do the bare minimum. Why can I not unlock my car through the app? Why don’t I have the sharing feature? What’s the point in buying the highest trim for the most mediocre technology I’ve ever seen from a 2022 car? I also cannot even set up a charge schedule through the app. I called and asked and they said “well you should be able to, just uninstall and reinstall the app” but despite having done that twice all I get is a graphic that reads “set the timer schedules in your vehicle” that I can’t click on at all and doesn’t engage. The only two things that supposedly work for my car is the remote start and climate control, and those only work once in a blue moon. Toyota got to the top 10 years ago and it seems they’ve decided they’re going to make zero progress in their interior technology since then. Glad my Rivian will start building within the year. Toyota has fallen far and seems to have no interest in pulling their chute.

I am so happy but …. I had a 2009 Prius with an “idiot” light to indicate that one of my 4 tires had low air pressure which meant that I didn’t know which tire required inflation. I saw that my 2021 Camry Hybrid LE (“LE” means Least Expensive and Least Equipped) had the ability to calibrate the TPMS so one of the very first things that I did upon receiving my car was to make sure that all of my tires were inflated to the correct PSI and that I set (calibrated) the TPMS. To do that was challenging since I had to remove the wheel covers to reach the tire valve stems. Getting the wheel covers back on was VERY challenging (I thought that I was playing “Whack-A-Mole”). Anyway, I discovered that I didn’t get to see the individual tire pressures and was back to the problem with the 2009 Prius AND I had to deal with taking wheel covers off and putting them back on! I even purchased a very expensive high end OBD2 reader by BlueDriver hoping that it could read the individual tire pressure but I discovered that even though the Camry knew it I couldn’t access it! But now the most recent version of the app lets me see each individual tire’s pressure! I hope that in the near future I can check remotely via the app if my doors are locked or unlocked!

Will not stay connected to car. I don’t know if my new car isn’t working properly or the app or what, but literally every time I get in my car I get a notification that I need to allow my phone to connect to the car. Every. Single. Time. Sometimes I’ll click allow & two minutes later it’ll ask me again. And once I hit allow, the Toyota app tries to open, but it just spins & spins. And then CarPlay won’t come up on my car. So I don’t have music or directions or anything. It is driving me insane. I will literally get out of my car to run into a grocery store for 5 minutes & come back out & it wants me to allow it & open the Toyota app again. Why can’t they just stay connected? Why do I have to allow it every single time? Is this normal? If so, that should absolutely change. I’d almost rather have my 2015 rav4 back with just the Bluetooth connectivity. It never dropped and was never an issue. Now I’m in the middle of driving somewhere using the directions on CarPlay & the whole thing just disconnects & wont come back up. And you have to click through multiple screens to get it to come back up - not safe while driving!

I want to love it…but don’t. I’ve had my 2023 Corolla Cross Hybrid XSE for four days now. The app is wildly slow to respond to the point that it’s practically useless. I’ll unlock it from the app as I’m walking out of my house but have to try again and then I just give up and unlock it since I have the key on me. Yesterday I was trying to load up my car and tried to use the app to unlock it…I literally went back inside for my keys because it was so slow. It notifies me in the grocery store or gym it’s unlocked or the door is open when all doors are closed and I locked it as I walked away…which makes me go back out to check and find it’s all locked up. I keep getting the notification to check my back seat which is completely empty. The only aspect I really like is the remote start since there isn’t a button on my key for it…so when and if that wants to work from that app that’s great. Other than that the tracker and health status are nice.

Could be useful but it is not. I have had this app for three weeks, the same length of time I have had my new Toyota. This could be a very useful app but it is not! First, the app is extremely difficult to navigate. It is not at all intuitive. I can’t find a damned thing on it even though I’ve seen pictures of the features. But I don’t know where those features reside in the app. I have been down deadends in the app and have been unable to find my way out. Second, there seems to be a problem with the interaction between the app “lock doors” feature and the key fob. I have locked the doors a couple of times using the app and when I try to unlock them with the button on the key fob, the doors at first do not unlock! This is a definite failure in the app. Finally, incessant notifications from the app are driving me crazy! I don’t mind notifications, but I get the same notification repeatedly. For example, I keep my car in the garage with the windows open. Immediately, the app generates a “windows open” notification. I clear it. About an hour later, the app generates another “windows open” notification. I clear it. An hour or two later, the process repeats and it keeps repeating! During the whole time, I have not even touched the car! This happens not just for windows but for other things like “doors unlocked” and others. In short, I expect more from Toyota than this app delivers. You can do better, Toyota—much better!

Very slow. The app is very slow to load up, and very slow to acknowledge your request. Sometimes the app will crash, give false information about your vehicle from being locked/unlocked last parking location etc. Realistically, the app should be smooth, fast, accurate, and consistent updates to the last vehicle update. More like 30/60 minute updates within the app, not last time used the app. When you open the app, it should have a recent update. Also, it should pair better with basic maintenance information, oil change, fluid change, filters change, dealership appointment settings, etc. The auto start function is a joke. You should be able to unlock the doors and open them while the feature is on. And to fully unlock the vehicle, the brake must be pressed and the ignition button pressed, obviously fob is near by. Chevy does it, along with a few other manufacturers. Please fix these issues Toyota.

Toyota app leaves much more to be desired, 1star. In my honest opinion this app can only get a 1 star because that is the lowest. My reason for this is based on 2 primary reasons. First, the whole idea of this app is bad because Toyota is trying to make recurring money off customers and features that other automakers just give their customers on their key remote (remote start). The fact that my Tacoma doesn’t have a remote start on the key fob, at $46k is, quite unacceptable as this was intentional to get you to subscribe and pay monthly to access that. I don’t want to buy features every single month - awful customer experience! Sure, there could be some advantages to be argued which leads me to my second reason for the 1 star review. Practical functionality: Toyota highlights the use of the app for via Apple Watch, which looks great. However, the watch functionality is virtually useless because it forces you to get your phone and unlock it and open the app and try the command from there. THIS RENDERS THE WHOLE SMART WATCH FUNCTIONALITY USELESS. I have tested this repeatedly and it seems that unless I have opened my app on my phone within only the previous couple of hours, the watch commands will not work. Again this is so frustrating and literally ruins the practical real world functionality of the this. I hope this gets ready my folks in development.

Doesn’t work and can’t uninstall. I wish I had come to read these reviews sooner. I’m having the same problem with the update, where I would tap on the “app suite” section in the app and nothing would happen. No connect button shows up, no way I get app to connect to the car so that I could stream music using the app suite. I thought maybe an uninstall/reinstall would help (I would have known better if I had read the reviews on the recent update), so I tried to uninstall. Now my phone is stuck in this Toyota app purgatory. The app pretends to uninstall, but when I reboot the phone, there it is, sort of. It’s not listed in the installed apps in settings, yet when I go to the App Store, it just has an “open” button, as if the app is already on my phone. I can’t open it, I can’t delete it. It is beyond useless. I’m can only hope that if/when an update happens, it will fix this disaster of an app.

Awful changes. The prior app was working great - as long as it was open on my phone I could use the connected apps on my Highlander. With this update I have to manually go into the Toyota app, scroll down to select the app suite, which brings me to another page where I click a “connect” button. This happens every time I drive and occasionally I have to sign in again despite selecting “keep me signed in”. UPDATE: STILL GARBAGE. They have fixed the issue of not having to go through steps and manually connect anytime I re-open the app. HOWEVER- the sound through the iHeart radio app doesn’t work. The first time the app is installed and opened it works. But each time after the sound is so quiet through my car it’s not even audible until >35 (which would normally be way too loud). I tested it out just now, I re-installed the app and the sound worked just fine with audio coming through the car. I then closed the app, turned off my car, then reopened the app and turned on my car - back to no sound unless my volume is almost maxed out on my car.

Recent update=decline in functionality. This app was getting by to begin with. The recent update has made it worse. It has now become slower with hit or miss functionality. It also bugs me that I keep getting a notification to buy Toyota genuine parts. It’s a new Toyota, why would I be needing parts? Why clutter the app with such “offers” ? Also, the status of the car is often not updated And even though I may have received a push notification with recent status, the app displays status from a while ago. It’s annoying to see that my car is unlocked, lock it with the app, receive a notification saying the car is already locked, then see the previous notification saying the car is locked. The app also doesn’t close by itself and runs in the background with the blue outline around the time in the top left corner of the screen. What is this app doing to warrant running in the background like this? Is it actively navigating? Is there a call in progress? One thing the app is NOT doing is updating the status of the car. I always have to manually shut down the app which is annoying. This could just be a functional and easy to use app of Toyota could get rid of the clutter.

What's the point now?. I’ve been a loyal Toyota owner for years, and the Toyota App used to be a valuable tool in managing my vehicle. However, I’m extremely disappointed with the recent decision to remove the connected app features. This change has rendered the app nearly useless for me. Previously, I could check tire pressure, and even locate my vehicle if I forgot where I parked. These features were incredibly convenient and made my ownership experience much more enjoyable. Now, with these functionalities gone, I find myself questioning the purpose of the app altogether. While the interface remains user-friendly and the basic information about my vehicle is still accessible, it pales in comparison to what it used to offer. The loss of these key features has left a significant gap in the usefulness of the Toyota App. It feels like a step backwards in terms of technological convenience. I sincerely hope that Toyota reconsiders this decision and brings back the connected app features. Until then, I find it hard to recommend this app to fellow Toyota owners who, like me, relied on its convenience in their day-to-day lives.

Pointless waste of time. Although the Toyota Entune app was not flawless, I was able to use it. However, I guess Toyota made some changes so the Entune app would no longer connect to my Prius, presumably to “encourage” people to switch over to their newer Toyota app after all the annoying little popup messages urging us to do so. Well I reluctantly downloaded this newer Toyota app and entered all of my info to create an account, but the app refused to allow me to add my 2016 Prius! I tried scanning the VIN number, scanning the barcode, and even typing in the VIN manually, but the app kept showing a message asking me to confirm that I had entered the VIN correctly. Finally I phoned Toyota Customer Support for help, only to be told that I would need to provide proof that I own the car!! I bought it new from a Toyota dealer in 2016 and have been getting it serviced at a Toyota dealership for all recommended periodic maintenance ever since, so they must have it in their records! I finally decided that whatever benefits might be offered by the app were not worth my going to any more trouble. I have deleted this app because I am DONE.

Tire pressure , now gas gauge, both gone since iOS 15.6. Was working OK until recent iPhone iOS update. Now all the get on the app is my VIN and the latest service info. Why is this app so hard to fix??? Hey! Here’s the latest: I just learned if you’re having issues with the Toyota App that comes with the purchase of a Prius, you MUST continue to subscribe to Safety Connect ($80+ a year!) after the first “complementary” year if you want features like tire pressure, fuel guage, mileage, etc to continue showing on your app! The App Store doesn’t tell you this; the books and pamphlets don’t tell you this; the dealership doesn’t tell you this; the service tech doesn’t tell you this. Even the app itself doesn’t tell you this when it fails to display what you expected to see. I only by happenstance found out by calling and talking for a while with a lady at the Toyota support line for multimedia services. I’m writing all this to help all you other Toyota owners that have been frustrated by this app. Now you know: the app is merely a way for a huge corporation like Toyota to make a few more bucks off an unsuspecting public. Is this the best way to promote brand loyalty?? Caveat emptor!

Too many errors. It doesn’t start the car 80% of the time. It takes too long to start the car when it does thank goodness I’ve only got a trial to try it out because I definitely will not be subscribing to that, don’t really need it. I just liked to play with it but got too frustrated. I can go out, start the car and come back in the house in a fraction of the time, but that’s not the point of having remote start is it? It couldn’t read the Vin number. I had to manually add it, and then it wiped everything out a couple days later, and had to add it again manually. It gives errors when trying to open it tells me that it’s taking a while and it will be opening shortly. Who’s got time for this? Thank goodness the car is more reliable than the app. Which definitely needs lots of work….

Barely useful. I just bought a 2023 RAV4 Hybrid and the dealer installed the Toyota app. I like that I can see how well I’m driving, mileage, gas level, etc. It’s not really important, I usually know it off the top of my head. But fun. Remote start is nifty and locking/unlocking is cool; but I likely won’t pay for it when the subscription ends. Not worth $8. Maybe $2/month. But the app leaves much to be desired. It always reminds me to pay for more crap that I don’t want. But it went away finally. Takes a while to load. Always sends me updates that my car is unlocked and windows are open; but when it’s parked in my garage. I wish it had an ignore feature. Like “ignore till I drive again”, or “ignore for X hours”. Might end up turning notifications off. Which defeats the purpose. But the most ANNOYING big is that always asks to “connect or ignore” when I get in my car. I even turned off Bluetooth and it asks. Just ask once and never again. But every time I get in my car? Toyota really needs to fix this. I’ve looked on forums and no solution has worked yet. I don’t understand why it’s so hard to fix it. Especially after what sounds like years of issues. Toyota - if you want us to pay for a subscription to an app, make it worth the cost. Or reduce the cost. The vehicles are top quality. App is not.

Waste of Time. The updated version of the app is a waste of time and space. The home screen that I have does not match the home screen in the tutorial or what is shown here on the App Store. The only thing I can see is my tire pressure is OK and my engine is OK-it also looks like I need to schedule maintenance and gives the impression of being overdue when that is not the case. There’s nothing anywhere in this app that shows me if my doors are locked, if the hatch is open, if the engine is running. I feel like these are all things that showed up in the previous version. I don’t look at it regularly because I really don’t have a need to, however tonight, my daughter accidentally locked the key in the car (how is that even possible??) I remember the dealer saying we could unlock it remotely using the app. Nope! There’s nothing even showing that the car is locked let alone an option to unlock. Aside from all that, I set up the app on my phone initially because I picked up the car from the dealer. My husband download it and tried to create an account. Nope. So then he tried to login using my credentials. Nope. Apparently you can only have it on one device so if your significant other wants to be involved, you’re out of luck.

$8 Monthly Subscription for remote start?. While I know subscription based services is all the rage with video games, movie streaming platforms, and music platforms, but for remote start on a vehicle? A pregnant woman could really use the remote start to warm up the car to drop her oldest child off at school without having to risk slipping on ice. The same can be said for the elderly when they leave their house to grab breakfast with a friend at their local diner. I know “back in my day you had to walk out and do it yourself”, but we are now past the days of walking up hill both ways in the snow. We have come so far with technology that it opens up so many doors. The dissatisfaction with this app (and Toyota) stems from my pregnant wife no longer being able to press a button to defrost the car without paying a globally known car manufacturer an $8.00 monthly subscription fee to do it from inside the house. Toyota, my request is that remote start alone be a free service for the sake of making life easier on its customers. Until then it looks like I will be “walking up hill both ways in the snow” to warm up the car for my pregnant wife.

Almost useless. This app is a mess. The sign in permissions are wack and all over the place. It wont let you keep it open in the back ground and still function. Sometimes it decides you need to resign in with passwords rather than your set Face ID. It’s really all over the place. Just use Face ID it’s not like you can steal the car with it. Face ID is secure enough for my whole wallet. Not to mention it’s slow. Any action is a press to hold. The majority or the information is quite useless. If you pay $8 a month you can lock and unlock your car and remote start it. But it honestly takes longer to pull your phone out figure out the sign in and then press and hold the button for 5 seconds than it does to just use the darn keys. 8$ to get anything some what useful land you can’t pay for that though Apple so pull out a card and enter it manually in the app. It’s pretty much junk Toyota.

THE APP IS POINTLESS. I locked my keys in the car and have been trying to navigate this app. the process should be simply yet I’ve been trying to get in my car for the last 2 hours. It’s freezing cold!! The app doesn’t even give me the option to unlock my car….i then found by using the 3D feature you can try to unlock but i paid for a subscription to be told that I am not subscribed and I’m assuming that’s why I can’t access the unlock car feature. Shouldn’t have customers paying out of pocket for something that DOESNT WORK. I am enraged and more than likely have to waste money hiring a lock smith…Do better Toyota I am not impressed. It’s no one’s fault that I locked my keys in the car but the process shouldn’t feel so impossible to the point that your customers are defeated with no solution to their issues. Very disappointing. Feeling very much inconvenienced this morning.

Trying the app again. When I initially bought the vehicle I tried the app and I hated it so I deleted it but then I decided I wanted to use Alexa in the car since I love it in my home. Every time I open Alexa I have to go to settings and select hands free turn on every time. I say Alexa and the vehicle doesn’t even recognize it. When I select the talk button it doesn’t recognize Alexa either. My vehicle is a 17 so I would understand some of the features not working but I believe this is basic. I love my truck and would love it more if this app was more user friendly and functional. I also hate that it said says the app has to be visible in order for this to be used. As long as it’s open it should be considered “visible”. I use the app so that I may listen to my XM stations that I am unable to access over 200 and something. I also wish when it played an XM station it’d at least show the artist and song like I had it turned to XM. I guess the latter is more of apart of a wish list.

Bad Customer Service. I upgraded my service and couldn’t finalise the upgrade. While I was paying (for a service I couldn't activate as the codes weren’t generating), I was given the run around and now they don’t answer my emails. Lost 10$ in the process. Don’t waste your time or your money.

Not good for places with Winter. This app takes 48 to 72 hours to connect - or so they say. I “re-activated” the app on Friday. Today is Wednesday. Not sure why it costs $10 CAD when it really should be part of the original purchase of the vehicle.

Insane. So, I paid $55000 for a brand new car. And this isn’t even included as standard? What was Toyota thinking

Don’t pay for this app. Toyota sucks for making you pay for this feature. I’ll never buy another Toyota again.

Awful app. Somehow the new version is even more unusable than the previous version. Despite paying $10 a month for a remote starter now I have to do double the number of clicks just to start the car in the new UI, that’s if I’m lucky and the app decides to load at all.

Not as bad as the others say. Has all the basic functionalities we need - aside from needing to pay (which you can always discontinue during the summer months restart in the winter months), this app isn’t actually bad and with the newest update it has notifications on window status in case of break ins and all the other basic features. Not perfect but a good useful and generally reliable app with decently fast response for locking doors and remote start. It’s good to see these IoT features rolled out to make consumers’ lives easier. Biggest liability is that it’s not free but if it’s free it’d be a good app that every Toyota user can use.

Useful. Works great and very useful. It’s free for three years with a new car.

New update 👎🏼. The new update is not it! The tracking sucks and you can’t refresh it for real time tracking unless you close the app and reopen it. Please fix it!

Useless app. I tried a few times to use this app. I can’t get things to work. I think if u buy a car it should be free to use without problems. This app really sucks. The guy at the dealer told me it’s a great app. Hate the lies I get from the dealer. Not impressed

Unreliable. Car loses connection to the network and the buttons do not work all the time.

Couple of issues. Shouldn’t have to pay, as mentioned in another review it should’ve been included with the price of a new car. Also, after the update, I’m not getting notifications of when the car has been remote started, which means having to try and start it again because i don’t know if it has remote start or not.

En bon français c’est de la cr… de m….. Faut bin payer le gros prix et que Toyota joue sur sa réputation d’autrefois pour ne pas t’être en 2024 avec leur app. de M….

COMICALLY useless. Why even offer this in Canada?? All the app does is give you your vin number if you’re logged in. It does send these super exciting notices about all its new features. Features you get if you live anywhere OTHER THAN CANADA.

New update is worse. New update to start your vehicle, the bottom UI usually scrolls up before you can push it fully, therefore you need to push it again to start once it has moved up. The moving up UI honestly feels pointless, the layout was better before. Worse then previous update and that wasn’t great either. Also what’s the point of being able to start the car from Apple Watch, if you first have to go to your iPhone? The whole point said an Apple Watch is to be able to do it without reaching into your pocket and getting your phone. It makes the watch app completely useless. Honestly disappointing how bad this app is. 2 stars is generous

“Great” update. App craps out when looking at Trip Details & tips. Need to log back in and it craps out again, same place …. I sort of like this “feature” WHEN IT WORKS! How about a new “update” that WORKS.

Toyota App is improving. Major recent change to app is welcome. Why does the Tire pressure and other views show a different vehicle than what I have registered? Ie Tundra correctly shows on Home Screen but shows a mini van in the tire pressure and other views???? Strange and inconsistent. Like being able to see the status of the vehicle locked/unlocked as well as recall and service updates. Hoping for more improvements and bug fixes if I am going to pay to be connected.. otherwise it won’t be worth it.

Ripoff. Paid $58000 for a new Toyota and they want me to pay $10/month on top of that for an app with a couple useful features. You would be better off getting an airtag and installing your own remote start. Ripoff cash grab by toyota. If it was free (which it should be) I would give it 3 stars.

Unbelievable. Can’t believe they will make us pay for that slow app… and i went and buy a 37000$ car but that is not enough to give you a free app that dont even work properly..

Meh. Expected functionality. Should be standard w/ pitch. Agree with everyone. Just greedy & insult to buyers to charge $10/m for this when I’ve just paid $60K. Functionality is adequate but lock/unlock very slow. Getting after-market TPMS to work in app massive headache.

Subscriptions Based. Super frustrated that you pay a lot of money to get a car starter installed that will have the ability to start with the app (selling. Feature for the company) and then after a year they make you pay $10 a month to be able to use it. Total crap that you pay for a car starter made by Toyota instead of a third party just to have the phone starting feature and then they start charging you monthly for it. I’ve already paid for the product so it’s just a money grab from the company to then have to pay monthly to even use it. Toyota is scamming people because I asked about a subscription at the dealership and they told me they don’t do that, even after I clarified never have to? And they said yup, we don’t do subscriptions. Lies. It’s all just lies to get your money.

Liked the new update. New UI update resolved the app lagging issue, happy with that.

Better since update. At least for myself Ive noticed less errors when using to remote start my car since the update. As for other reviews saying it does not work in Canada it seems to work for me here. Wish we didn’t have to pay for the app and for it to have climate controls within the app.

Frustrating to use. The developers should have done a usability study on the design. Issues that I found after only a few days of use: - no formatting on the phone number when logging in. You have to try numerous formats to guess what the system wants. - charging state seems to not change while the app is running, you need to close the app and reopen it to see the change. - remote features like starting requires the vehicle to be locked first, which is fine, however when it is not locked - remote starting fails with the wrong error. - digital key has never worked for me, it just complains there is a key near by and there is not. - remote features disappear from the screen when you share to a user. I can’t believe a company this big has done such a poor job testing this app.

Idiotic. That I can’t have a different primary vehicle for my wife and I is idiotic. I don’t know why this is an issue.

Garbage. Absolutely garbage app no working digital key is garbage this app is not working….

Really terrible. They are still blocking features that should be free and included in the price of the truck. They’ll disable your fob remote start if you don’t agree to their full tracking. The app itself is by far the worst I’ve ever used, super slow, will often take minutes to start responding. UI is terrible. Toyota needs to get out of software because they just don’t get it.

Make it free. My Ford app is free and lets me start truck back to back. This one is $9.99 a month Canadian on a $80k truck!!! Plus it doesn’t even have climate control to adjust settings. So $10 a month to start it for ten mins? Make it free.

It works, but the experience could be better. The app seems to be fully functional, but continues to use location services continueously even after the app is closed.

Toyota app. It’s only remote key App has nothing we can’t start heater we can’t set temperature before we had to car so it’s worthless and they charge for it I don’t know for what Toyota is car king company and I never expect this kind of app form them Not satisfied

I read these reviews but…. Toyota doesn’t read them or care. There’s only a couple of lame responses to call them. LOL this was some junior executive’s idea, (obviously a relative), that got a half assed go ahead but no one knows what they’re doing and nobody’s in charge. Corporate fail from an otherwise able car company. 😞

Leap year app. Today on Leap day 2024 I have a new updated app. I preferred old one. This one not as friendly.

Locate your car ? Kidding?. Its being worst after each update. There is no way to refresh the car location on new version. Toyota app development team need to test the app before launching

The FIND feature is not working properly. After one year of successfully using the app, for finding , locking, remote start, the finding feature start not working properly.

Insult to 2021 owners. How can such a recent car not be able to integrate new app features. Toyota is ripping off good paying customers and penalizing those to take a chances on new release models. Shame on you.

Never works consistently. Worst car star app I’ve ever used.

Useless. I don’t use many apps but when I do, this one sucks the most! As with all of Toyota’s info/interactive it is in the dark ages. Doesn’t work half the time, and the fact I have to pay for this crap after my “free” trial period is ludicrous. Do they make good vehicles? I’m not sure. I don’t like 21.9 L/100 km’s fuel economy. I had better fuel economy (by far) in my 2004 chev crew cab 4x4. Sorry, wrong review!

Very poor performance- poor customer service too!. Received my brand new 2023 Toyota in October 2023. In the new year my dealer left urgent message to get 2 things checked. The APP is saying several things need immediate attention from my service dept. Now service dept says nothing wrong with car, it’s the app and they apologised for the confusion. After an hour on hold, the app tech spent 5 minutes with me, checked a few settings on my phone & car then basically said… APP is fine, it’s a car & dealer problem. Now the app is saying last place parked is in a different town I’ve never been to and the car’s mileage is 1km! Turns out that’s where a Toyota factory is located. It’s gone back to birth of the car! Now the app won’t sync at all with my car for navigation! Is it the car? Is it the APP? No one wants to help me. My dealership is still trying but I’m freaked by the warnings the app tells me about my car! Is it safe to drive? I sure as heck have no idea. Wish I’d never downloaded the APP.

Frustrating. This app seems like it could be so confident to have, but it’s not. Half the time the notifications come late indicating unlocked vehicle. It takes a long time to connect to start or unlock. Canadians only have the option to pay monthly while US customers get a discount for paying for an entire year. Disappointed that this app isn’t included when purchasing a new vehicle.

Not a great cold weather app. Living in northern Canada means several weeks of frigid temperatures below-40 C. We need to be able to run our vehicles regularly to keep them from freezing up. The latest update to the app where the remote start is disabled after 2 -10 minute cycles of remote starting without a passenger is inconvenient.

Stopped working. Toyota broke the app or the functionality with last update. Paying for service that doesn’t work any longer.

Horrible App. I am renting a Toyota Camry and, unlike most vehicles, you have to the Toyota app. The one app cost money and the second app won’t accept the 2023 VIN. It is an easy decision that I will not rent or buy a Toyota product again. Thanks for making future decision easier. Brutal.

Not reliable. The app worked for the first two months and then stopped working properly. I still get notifications but the app will not allow me to access the app, I get a “sorry for the inconvenience, but app isn’t working” message. I tried signing back in and I’m still unable to access the app. There’s no way I will be paying for this app once my free trial is over if I can’t reply on the app to work. I’m very disappointed because when it works, it’s a great app.

App logs me out. App keeps logging me out, have to log in every time to remote start my car which I already pay monthly for?

Ok app, but should be free or way cheaper. Remote start that comes with app is handy now that Toyota seems to intentionally provide a very short range remote start with key (less than 40 ft range of direct line). Barely used the location feature or locking feature, but guess it is useful for un forth-seen situations. Nevertheless, I will not pay CAD$10 a month for this.

Few Issues. No way I’d pay any money for this app. Has some neat features, but should be 100% included with the purchase of a new car. Why does it take so long to do anything? Definitely not worth using to actually lock/unlock car. Why can’t the Apple Watch app work independently of the phone app? Step 1: open Apple Watch app. “Please log into app on phone to use.” Huh? Step 2: pull out phone and open Toyota app. Step 3: use Apple Watch app. So dumb. You have to force close the app when you’re done using because it drains your battery so fast. Useless.

Very poor app. The only thing working with the app is lock/unlock doors.

I have no trouble!. Not sure why there are so many negative reviews. I had no trouble. Connected to my vehicle easily and app works great! Got a notification while I was in a store that I forgot to lock the car. Opened app and locked it. Perfect. ☺️👍🏻

Seems to interfere with CarPlay. I keep having intermittent issues connecting to to my car on CarPlay, then I deleted this app and now everything works fine. Additionally, all the remote features seem extremely sluggish and buggy. Would not pay to continue using after the free trial expires.

Much better after the update!. The latest update fixes the slow loading that had made the app frustrating to use. I’d like to see fuel economy and hybrid battery data visualizations added.

Garbage App. I used to use Entune to connect my 2015 Highlander to iHeartRadio. Unfortunately, Entune was replaced by this bloated garbage. This App has tons of features that I couldn’t care less about. The only thing I need is to connect to iHeartRadio and that doesn’t work. Almost 1GB of storage for this bloated mess… Toyota should be ashamed. Changed review to 4/5: I uninstalled the app several months ago because it stopped connecting to my car Entune system. I recently purchased an Apple iPhone 13 so I decided to give the app another try. It seems to be working now and I am able to listen to iHeartRadio in my 2015 Highlander. Took off a star because the App is bloated and has many features that are useless.

App is absolute garbage. I’ve only had my 23 Tundra for a few weeks and this app has already proven itself to be utterly useless. Tried to set up my home and work locations in the app for drive connect. The app doesn’t even recognize my home address as a valid location (although the recently parked location lists my home address and when I type it in, my address comes up in the list. Then it gives me an error that the address is invalid) so I can’t even set up my home location. Also will not send saved locations to the vehicle. Toyota needs to fix this pile of garbage quickly. I’ve been waiting several days to hear back from their “brand support” as well on this issue. This is just one of the many issues this app has.

POSITIVELY THE WORSE APP on the App Store!. I bought my 2019 Camry XLE after seeing my buddy’s app for his RAV4. This was version 1.X and it worked flawlessly. It was easy to check everything. Then the geniuses at Toyota (I can’t call them developers because they are so inept) came out with Version 2 - nothing worked right. It obviously was never field tested. And from the continued poor reviews, nothing has gotten any better. I had just renewed my contract with Toyota. After seeing the comments and seeing the broken app, I requested, and got, my money refunded. I never looked back. Rather than complain about something that high school students could do far better, I just walked away. No amount of criticism over 3 years of poor reviews by others has caused any change to the app. The toll-free number is a joke. The people behind the app should have been fired over 3 years ago - but they are still there wrecking havoc with their ineptitude. After my refund, I felt much better and have never looked back. So what prompted me to write this? Astonishingly, Toyota still sends me notes to rejoin that decrepit app. If money talks, everyone should request a refund. Posting here does absolutely nothing. Save the wear and tear on your fingers.

So confusing. When I bought my 2022 Corolla, the sales person told me how amazing the Toyota app is. I was excited to be so connected to my new car coming from a 2008 vehicle. But the app is useless other than telling me my tire pressure. What about doors open? Windows open? Doors locked?? I have checked all the notifications and they’re all set for on but I didn’t get a notification when one of my doors didn’t shut all the way. It was left open all night. I sent a message to the sales person about this and her response was to take the tour of the app. That did nothing. Most of the info that is available is unnecessary for me and just takes up space. I’m very disappointed with this app and the fact that no one can tell me how to access the features that made it appealing in the beginning.

Maguire Toyota. I have a BEST experience and thoroughly honest review of my automobile purchase at this dealership. From my first phone call to the delivery of my new vehicle it was the best dealership experience that I have had in years. My sales person was Carly and she was dead spot on being on point from our first encounter and through the delivery of the vehicle. She showed me every operation within the vehicle before I drove off. And then told me to call her with any questions and anytime. I recommend her for salesperson of the year at the dealership. Also recommend you ask for Carly as your salesperson as you will not be dissatisfied.

Frustrating Frustrating Frustrating. I have been thinking about writing a review for two years. The time has come. For the amount of money that I paid for my car, I should be able to remote start easily and consistently. Nothing is easy with the app and nothing is consistent. It sometimes takes so many attempts to remote start the car I might as well put on my cold weather gear and go out and do it myself. I live in a part of the country that has extremely cold winters. Due to my frustration with remote starting, I will be considering a different brand of car when I purchase next year. I say this after owning multiple RAV4s for the past 10 years. Loyalty only goes so far when it is -35F and you cannot remote start a $42,000 vehicle because the app doesn’t function.

Same feedback as my Lexus. First I’m not going to pay $8 per month or $80 per year to remote start my car. I MIGHT consider it if the remote start was actually functional. When I start my car in cold/hot weather: 1. the remote start only stays on for 10 mins - not enough time to heat or cool the vehicle. 2. Only works when vehicle is locked (ok fine) but if I unlock the vehicle the remote start stops even if I’m not opening any doors - why?? 3. Remote start stops as soon as I open the door - why!? Let’s say I have kids and I have a **** load of crap I have to haul around and I want to remote start my car so my kids don’t freeze (that’s the only reason I would buy a cross-over in the first place. If I didn't have kids there is no way in **** that I would buy a cross-over). Im not ready to get my kids in the car yet, I’m simply opening the doors so I can load my kids, wife’s and dogs uncles boss’ junk in the car so I can be in my merry way - but wait if I open the car my remote start turns off! WHY!? Same question I asked Lexus - WHY??? I suppose it’s to save the environment from emissions - but sorry that excuse doesn’t fly with me. If you want to save the environment, then don’t offer a worthless remote start and stop building cars…

Latest update made everything stop working. Since the latest update I am unable to use any of the features for my car. The main purpose of this was to automatic start my car since the gr86 does not have an automatic start on the key fob. Now none of that works. Fix your app. Update: 2 weeks later and they have not even tried to fix the update that is making it so people cannot use the features of their cars. Went to a dealership and they said there is nothing they can do. Do NOT waste your time or money on this garbage because the developers obviously do not care. Update 2: they release an update to the app that still doesn’t fix the issues of people not being able to use remote features. Great job guys.

Needs a bug fix. With the latest iOS update and this latest Toyota app update something isn’t jiving. My app no longer shows the app suite. I called Toyota tech support two weeks ago and the nice gentlemen tried hard to help me but I ended the call without being helped. The issue had to be pushed to another team and I have yet to be updated on what’s going on. Not being able to use Alexa in my car is a pain. I have two young children and we utilize this feature to quickly find whatever kid music they want to hear and without it I’m an unhappy mama. Besides that I think the connect option needs to be on the welcome screen at the top so I don’t have to take the time to scroll and push buttons while I’m driving. Please fix these issues!

Mostly useless. Much like the majority of the technology on my 21 Tacoma, this app is only useful about 25% of the time. I have only gotten remote start to work twice in 1.5 years, I cannot schedule service through the app and service appointments that are scheduled do no show up on the app. The app also stopped notifying me that service is due, the truck is currently telling me that maintenance is required and the app is currently telling me everything is up to date. Since the service I have received at my local Toyota dealership has been the worst I have ever experienced anywhere, I don’t even have anywhere to attempt to get this terrible app or the terrible tech in the truck worked on. My next vehicle will not be Toyota.

Designed by someone that doesn’t use vehicles. Very limited functionality, few options, and not well organized. Surprising, given that Toyota is such an awesome company. They’ve clearly farmed this out. Additionally, while more controls over usage of a vehicle may work for consumers outside of the US, they’re not going to be popular here. Two reasons why you’d lock your vehicle with an app: I forgot and don’t want to / have time to walk back to the vehicle AND locking my key in the vehicle intentionally so as not having to carry it. Chevy let me do this and it was great. Toyota won’t allow it for vehicle safety. It’s on the same level as the remote start shutting off the engine when you open the door. Stop protecting me and let me use the vehicle that I paid for as I see fit.

Toyota App. Upon receiving my new 2023 Toyota Corolla XLE I am happy to say that I was pretty surprised to see this app rated so low. Feedback with constructive criticism is encouraged but we must keep in mind that Rome wasn’t built in a day. I for one, am grateful that Toyota is still prioritizing the quality of their vehicles instead of the app. I am eager to see how the app evolves as time goes on, but Rome wasn’t built in a day. Marketing is essential and cannot be avoided but I agree with a past comment that suggests placement not being in the way and how they chose to offer real solutions rather than simply criticize or just submit a low star rating. Thank you Toyota!

Missing Feature. With the last few revisions Toyota took away a navigation feature that I used all the time. The feature had a navigation map where you could search find and store up to 10 destinations then on the navigation app inside the vehicle you could see the saved destinations and get directions. I used it to plan out my trips it saved me time looking for each destination at the time I was ready to leave all I had to do was select from the already saved list. I also wish that more than one person had access to lock doors and start the car remotely. If you share with another person it takes away your access.

Very disappointed. This app has not worked well for me. Many times I go to start my car and the app won’t let me in. I have called and have had little help. I am told I need to dump the app and reload it. What good is it if I constantly have to reload the app. I don’t know if I will renew it or not. For me it has been pretty unreliable. Tried to use my app for four days. I kept receiving the message technical difficulties. I expect more from the Toyota company. Update Jul 18,2022: This has to be the worst app on record. I try to use the remote start it doesn’t work. Why can’t you fix this so we aren’t paying for nothing. This will be the last time I purchase it. I will get my own remote starter. Shameful.

Terrible app and Terrible Service. Be prepared and expect to: -Pay for a service that was once free (remote car start) -Have the app not work and/or an “outage” and not be able to use the service that you now pay on a monthly or yearly subscription. -call customer service, be transferred numerous times, and hours of your precious time trying to get answers -Be told that there are no plans for prorating or discounting the service you pay for that you aren’t receiving. -Be prepared to write a review and receive a generic reply message that I have received and will receive below this message stating the obvious. -Expect them to undermine your intelligence by thinking the generic reply messages and trained talks the customer service rep goes through will make you feel like they are taking care if the situation and here to help you. But at its core, we know they are now charging money for something they know will have issues, will not work, have no plans to give even penny back to the customer. -Stay vigilant my friends. Toyota has turned into a company that is leveraging technology to give you the illusion you are receiving more, but in the long run you receive less and pay dearly for it. Not just from an app side, but also a car tech in general.

SO VERY LIMITED. I travel, a lot, for 3-4 weeks at a time. I need to start my Toyota at least once a week to keep the battery charged. This app only allows TWO starts , regardless of run time, before a live body has to unlock, open and close the door, and relick the vehicle for remote start to be available again. The error message states “After two - ten minute remote starts, a door must be (see above)…. I understand this is for “safety (government?) reasons” however I tried two, three minute duration starts in one week and on the third try, I received the same 10 minute start error bu^**ht. Toyota, change the error message or add functionality of time for the safety issue. If I run the car for 10 minutes, then try and remote start three days later, is carbon monoxide going to be present at dangerous levels inside the vehicle? No. I spoke to a Toyota rep about the issue and she was somewhat flippant saying there’s no way around the “safety feature.” She slightly scoffed when I suggested to update the error message with correct info. Needless to say, I won’t be renewing this annual subscription. Thanks.

Watch app does not function. This has been an on and off again problem - the phone app generally works fine - I get notifications when I forget to lock my doors and I can remote start for climate control when it is hot or cold. I can see where the car was last parked. And I can see my driving patterns, if too harsh with stops, turns, and starts. The watch app is functionally useless. It constantly asks me to log in to my phone to do anything. Once I open my phone app, the watch app will work. But I don’t need the watch app if I have to open my phone to activate it. I’m already in the phone. One update a year or so ago fixed it ever so briefly. If I am logged into my watch, I should automatically be logged into the app. Or allow me to log in on my watch, which is a much worse option.

Worst app ever. The old version of Entune was not the greatest but at least it worked. After forced to install this app it just got worse then with the update it got even worse basically a useless app taking up space on my phone. Unable to connect to my app suite so now unable to use my apps iHeart, weather, fuel finder, some navigational features etc. Read the reviews and responses from the developers especially where they asked to reply via the app feedback well guess what, that doesn’t work either. Keeps saying to try again in a few minutes. How Toyota could let this horrible of an app make it to the point release without proper testing and debugging is unreal. Would give it a negative 5 stars if that was an option. Also makes one really angry about unusable functions and 0 support.

Remote Connect Won’t Restart My Car. I’d give this app zero stars if I could. I continually have issues with the remote start not working. It starts my car, I get back in (before the 10 minutes is up) so the car automatically shuts off. I manually start it, go to my next stop, shut off my car, get out of my car, try to restart my car with the remote start app and it won’t restart even after waiting a few minutes to try. It shows my car is running when in fact it’s not. I close down the app, reopen it and try to restart but still won’t restart. I try many many more times with no success. This happens a LOT. This has happened every year I’ve purchased. Waste off money! Worth the bad rating of this app you’d think they’d fix it and make it functional.

Bloated and meh. We bought a 2022 (new) Toyota Highlander, and we were eager to use the app. Shortened version -> The app is a big letdown. Similar to what others have said, the app is slow to load, slow to connect to our vehicle, and the features don’t always work. For example, it’s 50/50 if remote start works through the app on the first attempt. Other areas are just not well thought out. For example - why doesn’t our car/app have the smarts to know when we’ve parked it at home in our garage? I don’t want an alert every night that our doors are unlocked when parked in our garage. Toyota - you can do so much better. Tesla is light-years ahead of you in this regard. Take a page from their book and build a great app, please!

Toyota App not at all what it says it is.. Very disappointed with how Toyota manages its digital services. I have the Entune app which now does not work but says the Toyota app does everything Entune did “and more” which is a joke. The Toyota app basically does nothing useful except tells you stuff you already know. The Maps on the car is basically useless unless you hook your phone up using a cable so with google maps already on your phone the maps feature on the car is really just a cumbersome thing. The car itself says no maps app is currently installed if you press the maps button but there is no useful information anywhere online or in the manual explaining how to use Maps or where and how to download a usable app to the car. I love Toyota vehicles but they really need to get in the game on these features that everyone expects to work seamlessly.

Useless app. When I first downloaded this app I could see the tire pressure on my 2021 RAV 4 tires then I believe my free trial ended and an update later I didn’t have that option anymore. Thanks to the terrible idea and execution from both Toyota and this app I’ve had two instance that have let me to drive my tires on low pressure until I got home with a flat or in the case of the second where after explaining to Toyota dealership that the car had not read that I was driving on low pressure that all it took was a nail to cut the tire open and go flat in less than 5 min costing me $300 for a new tire. I honestly don’t understand why something that should have been part of $35,000 car not be on the dashboard of the vehicle and attached to an app that’s doesn’t prove it’s worth unless you pay for it.

Horrible. I received an update at the end of February 2024 and the app had this slide bar to expand me view which keeps sliding preventing my car from staying! I have to slide it back and then press the start button while operating it doesn’t move. The second issue is ever since the app updated audio won’t play in my car. It would start and then stop. If I hit play it would skip to the next track. If I turned the radio off it would play for 20 seconds and repeat. When I removed the app the radio worked without issue. If I plugged my phone into the car no audio could be heard. The audio player would stop and not resume. What did Toyota break with this update? This odd not worth the $10 a month they’re charging!

Disappointed. This app has so many issues I don’t even know where to start. 2 stars because it works sometimes. For my RAV4 Prime the app shows the charge percentage but estimated range is intermittently not shown, and percentage is not displayed in the vehicle, makes it difficult to see the charging status. Remote start/lock/unlock etc. work half of the time and are very slow when it works. No way to stop charging or setting schedule in the app. The MPG charts are extremely buggy and the data is wrong (e.g. I drove mostly in EV mode and app shows zero total EV distance). The new UI is sluggish, swiping/scrolling feel unnatural and different to the OS and other apps. My device has 120Hz refresh rate and the app feels like 15fps. I want a fast, efficient app more than a good looking UI. Please consider rolling back to the previous version and launch this update again when it is properly tested & validated. More than half of the bottom tab bar options are either useless to me or rarely used yet they occupy some of the most important parts of the screen. My Toyota vehicle is well built and easy to use. But this app is almost the opposite of that.

Obsolete app. My previous vehicle was a 2021 Ford EcoSport with Sync 3. I absolutely regret buying a Toyota because it’s technologically obsolete, or at the very least severely outdated. The only reason I went with a RAV4 was because of the cargo space & it was a bigger vehicle than my Toyota. I should have gone with an Ford Escape or Bronco. The primary reason for my one star is due to the app have zero functionality. I can’t remote start, lock, or unlock the vehicle with the Toyota app (I could with the Ford Sync app). I can’t unlock/lock my car with out the fob (unlike my Ford). I can’t remote start my RAV4. I can’t monitor my oil life, gas level, or tire pressure. My Ford Sync would log when it was driven & let me know how well the person was doing (speeding, breaking hard, accelerating too fast, etc). It would track my maintenance records & give me a schedule of when I needed to perform specific things. I could see what warranties & extended packages I have. I could even track my car’s location. All of this, not available on the Toyota app. I also can’t download any apps to the car & when I click on the map button on my radio (on the car) it says none available & to download one via the Toyota site but there’s nothing to download. The app is pretty pointless.

Poor execution. Most of the features are poorly executed. I can’t find recent trip MPG. If it’s there, it’s buried somewhere impossible to find. Recent trip history won’t show up until the next day. The remote climate connect simply DOES NOT WORK. It just spins trying to connect and then times out. It’s never provided accurate car info. It will say the doors are all locked when they are not. And alerts come about 3 hours after the car is unlocked. Its really disappointing that Toyota continues to be so poor at their user interfaces. Entune was a disaster. And this is on par with Entune. And they want us to actually pay for this experience??? When it does work, it’s cool. But it is more frustrating than useful. Really takes away from the enjoyment of a new car.

Horrible. The remote starter has been around since the eighties. Usually technology improves our lives. Toyotas decision to make eight bucks a month by making remote start a subscription based service only available through the app is a regression. I’ve come to accept this, but the app is so glitchy. I never know if it’s actually going to work. I’d give the app 3 stars if my key fob was the primary remote starter and the app was primarily for info (doors locked, vehicle location, etc.). The app has started hiding the notifications I want to see like locked doors and clearly displays ones I don’t like an add to purchase more services. No matter how many times I hit the “x” showing I’m not interested, it comes back! I’d gladly pay 10 years if subscription upfront to have a functional key fob and never use the app again!

When it works, it’s subpar. The app takes forever to load and update. I will pull down to refresh and that doesn't always work. This morning I open the app, put on both my shoes tied them and then looked at the app. It was still not fully loaded or refreshed. Expecting more from technology. I’ve had my car since June 2023 and remote start refuses to let my phone connect after the car is started. How annoying. This app consistently gets a two star overall review, that says something of the developers, and Toyota should actually be paying attention to. I got the car and the newest addition for the latest technology, and yet the phone app is the oldest technology.

Doesn’t Show Total Miles Anymore. Updated app no longer displays total miles on the odometer and this is just when I needed it. 2021 Sequoia is temporarily stored out of town and I’m trying to figure out if I need factory maintenance on it before a big trip. I can’t find this info that was previously displayed prominently. Please put total miles back into the app. I see trip A and B odometers, but not the total miles that I need. Otherwise, I like the app. Some complaints that I read about here are actually by design, such as engine cutoff after remote start when a door is opened. It’s obviously for security reasons. Keep up the good work and keep improving the app.

Toyota app does NOT connect to services. When Toyota replaced Entune with Toyota app, they forgot to include the entune features. I sent email explaining this, they replied with replace entune with Toyota, scroll down and hit “connect” but there is no option. Any ideas on how to get my streaming apps to work? Edit: The app is now updated to include limited access, but stocks, sports, and others are not there. Also, it originally was automatically connected, the you had to open the phone app every time you got in the car. NOW you have to launch the app on your phone , click on a link, then click “connect” in order for the limited services (Live x Live, iHeart, Alexa, and destination search) to function. EXTREMELY disappointed. Seriously considering not making another Toyota purchase UPDATE: developer responses in App Store say to leave feedback in the App, but that doesn’t work either. When will you provide the services that we’re part of the vehicle I purchased? Update: Toyota has discontinued this app, it does not work. Nor do the many features that were present with Entune. Toyota website DOES say to use this app. This will be my last Toyota.

Toyota. It it very apparent to me that 99% of these companies really don't care what we think they only use us to increase their bottom line and that's profits, I am so disappointed with Toyota at this point that I've made the decision to stop buying Toyota vehicles. TRD Big break kit is a product that is free designed for Toyota Tundra’s in particular well for some reason Toyota decided that it was important to inform owners of this kit that they were t manufacturing break pads for the TRD kit anymore which means I haven't been able to drive my truck for literally 5 months now because I don't have brakes now I have to save up money or sell my truck because this issue but the sad part is Toyota just won't come out and say hey we don't make the brake pad for the trd big break kit anymore instead they just string us along as if they care which they don't!

Don’t buy subscriptions. If tou buy subscription after every toyota update you have to pay 200 dollar for car update … nobody telling you how many times you need update car upgrade m what one year … this programdose not work property its very slow …after this situation i decide never buy toyota … this is scum ! Update … when toyota call center told me that car software have to be updated and i went to Toyota dealer they asked me 200 … and checked in car that cars software was newest after I found in forums that i can just restart electric system of car whit switching of my battery … I made it in 2 min … this app working jot perfectly bit if you will have any issues don’t go to dealer or don’t call to toyota they will lie to toy for making more money

Excellent security, or flaw?. A few months ago it was simply annoying and a little embarrassing. When I tried to have Siri start your car and the app required you to sign in again, because it was only once a month or so. That even felt somewhat too frequent for a re authentication. But lately it has been every other day or sometimes two or three times a day to require a login to use the app to communicate with my Prius. Some things don’t even work such as the heated seats or heated steering wheel don’t come on when I start the vehicle in the morning. The app also does not give me the same message of “maintenance required soon” that the dash does. The dealer I took it to Said that’s odd. Overall, the app has great potential if the developers would actually use it in daily life to people that really use it in life.

Failures of the cell phone to send music to the Prius. Last week when I was driving my 2018 Prius I tried to tune in a radio station via this application. The volume was so low on the music that I had to turn up the car to Maxximum, and all I could hear was a whisper of the music. I remove the app, and then had a very difficult to Time, trying to find out that the app is not called EntuneWhen you search for it. They download in some improvements two weeks ago which of course stopped it from working. Just like the navigation on this 2018 Prius, the software isn’t worth the bits it’s written in. My salesman told me when I bought this car that I could upgrade the radio so I could get my Apple phones software to correctly with Apple CarPlay. He neglected to mention it would be $2000. Next time I’ll get it all in writing.

Change Toyota APP back to Original. PLEASE bring back the FIRST version to the Toyota APP. It worked soooo SMOOTHLY and there was ABSOLUTELY NOTHING wrong with it. Why make things more difficult to understand????? Many times the whole world makes things more difficult than they have to be???? WHY??? Many people do not get that. At least think about making things less painful for ALL of YOUR CUSTOMERS. It would make many of your customers lots happier. Thank you! REMEMBER LESS CONFUSION and FRUSTRATION makes CUSTOMERS VERY HAPPY! LESS sometimes can be LOTS BETTER! That’s all I have to say! Have a great day! 👍👍😃

The app simply does not work. I am unable to reconcile how a company that makes such good vehicles can have such a poorly executed application. I am not sure how the QA their releases, but the outcomes are deplorable. The app cannot connect to the vehicle, so the functions of the application are dead in the water. This should be simple, there are plenty of auto manufactures that have figured this out, so I am just baffled. Toyota’s quality is typically unprecedented. Yet here we are with this app. The manufacturing principals that have made Toyota what they are today are obviously not being followed by this division of the company. Or, this has been outsourced to a third party. If it is the latter, Toyota should cut bait and take this development effort on themselves. If this is a Toyota development effort, then there needs to be some personnel changes to meet the quality standards that has made this company great.

Junk. The basic points: Your car should auto lock when you leave it. This app just emails you and tells you your car is unlocked. Then it takes at least 60 seconds for app to load, the command doesn’t work a few times, then it works. I leased a base model Chevy that locked when the fob walked away. Never had to deal with a poorly built app. Nav. Garbage. The maps are not intuitive if you’re used to google or Apple. They lag. You miss turns. Toyota is a car company. Stick to cars. Just give me a display with CarPlay, keep the crap software. Invasive- collects all kinds of data (wifi use, driving reports, locations, etc) and shares it with a bunch of vendors for the first year you have the vehicle. The “services” are “free”. They just sell all your info to insurance companies and who knows who else. Then after a year, you get to pay for it! The wifi service/hot spot is not even as good as my mobile service. What a joke. The entire app could just be a functional key fob with remote start & auto lock. Services like accident detection, navigation, etc all cost $80/year. Don’t get them. I pay the $8 for remote start, thats why it gets 1 star. Otherwise I’d give it zero if I could.

Bummed. I am having trouble with using remote start because of the entune app suite that is now supposed to be a part of the Toyota app. I’m not able to update the entune suite. I always get an application download error. Please try again later message. I have uninstalled reinstall disconnected from Bluetooth. I really love the remote connect feature when I was able to once use it. I am saddened that I will have to cancel my subscription because I’m not able to reap the full benefits of the features. I have a 2021 Toyota Highlander that I purchased May 2021 and it’s November 2022 and I’ve had this issue for six months now. I have spent numerous hours, trying to research a solution in a fix, even gone to the Toyota dealership, and they have not been able to help me. Please help!!!

Work in Progress. I generally like this app, but I don’t really use it that much. It’s handy for reminding me to lock my car when I’ve left it unlocked, then allowing me to remotely lock it. Scheduling maintenance is easy with it. Remotely starting the vehicle is handy, especially when it’s very cold outside. However, I’m paying a fee to do some of these things, and when I went to use the app to remotely start my vehicle this morning, the app wasted about a minute of my time serving me up an advertisement for renting Toyotas! Normally when you pay a fee for apps, it is so you do not receive advertisements. After all, what is email for? If you want to turn me off to paying for convenience, keep feeding me unwanted ads.

Could be better. 1)The appointments do not show up in the app as they are supposed to. For example- my car had a tire replaced today- nothing about it in the app. 2) The alert for my “low tire pressure” hasn’t reset. The tire has been on the car for about 8 hours now. 3)Here’s my biggest complaint. The remote start almost NEVER works. I can be right beside it- nothing. I can be in my house- nothing. I can be a block away- nothing. I’d say it fails 8 out of 10 times. As of now, I am not paying for the subscription. Next year, I will have to if I want this option. That’s another thorn in my side! I paid over $52,000 for a car that I have to pay to access remote start!!!!!! RIDICULOUS.

Works for security, say goodbye to privacy. Lock/unlock work fine, and it is safe and I suppose neat that the app tells you if your car is left unlocked. Remote start works fine. However, this app is a nightmare for your privacy. Starting with the service agreement, you are signing away so much of your privacy. They put these walls between you and your ability to expunge their use of your personal data. They constantly try to cajole you into using their awful driving habit tracking “feature” where they look at your driving habits to ostensibly save you money on insurance. People have been saving money on insurance for years without needing to tell everybody how they’re driving. That’s a crock of you know what. I have always loved Toyotas products, but this is a fiasco. Also, bring back the V8, four-cylinder turbos are ridiculous.

What is going on!?. It is time for me to renew and I am not going to. I have a brand new car that comes with all this and I refuse 8/month just to start my car in the hot/cold when I have to try it over and over 50 times before it FINALLY actually starts up. I could just walk out there and do it in that amount of time. Not worth the cost when it rarely works. And why turn off when a door opens? In Ford, it turns off only if you put a foot on the brake. Freezing cold and loading my child and it turns off. So he freezes until I can rush around and restart it. Really? No thanks. I will just walk out and start it so it stays running. $960/yr to be lazy. I will pass. Especially when it turns off the instant the first child is loaded but not if you walk out and physically start it.

Price app. $80 a year is a lot, app doesn’t work like it used to before all of the updates. If windows left down it only tell you about the front 2 not the rest like it used to. App freezes constantly and won’t connect. Before signing in you get a warning that there’s issues with the app. There’s a 5 min delay sometimes longer before the app notifies you that your car is unlocked or front windows left open or if someone opens your door. By the time you get a notification it might be to late especially if someone breaks into your car. App and features need to be updated, for the app to even be worth the $80 a year for just one feature.

Does Toyota even read the feedback?. The more time goes on the worse this app has become. I’ve seen others express their frustration and problems such as making you sign in every day or other day to the app. When I try and summons the iPhone to start my car it lags and says there’s a problem. It needs to sign in. I just did that yesterday!!! Why does it always sign out?! The keep me signed in option is a a waste of time. Wanna start up your car? It will say, sorry this operation cannot be performed right now. 5 seconds later my car starts? Total waste of money for the subscription. If this app was as reliable as Toyota, this app would have 5 starts. I bet the so called developers don’t even drive a Toyota or use this app. Who’s doing the R&D for this? Boy am I glad I’m able to see offers and deals for service or refinance my car. Junk of an app.

Good But Can Get Better. It’s nice to have a couple of remote abilities using the app. I like that it shows you where you last parked, current miles till empty, VIN, & odometer reading. All useful information when calling my insurance company. The layout and presentation of the vehicle is nice. +1 for light and dark theme. You get a 4 star because I can tell this app wasn’t just thrown together. Now, you need these features to bring it to a 5 star level app. 1. Add a link/email we’re we can send suggestions for enhancements or bugs. 2. Add the mpg trip information to the drive pulse area of the app. ** must have ** 3. Maintenance area where you can input the date of the last oil change or other maintenance info (wiper blades, car wash, whatever) 4. Place to input when the date the gas tank was filled & price. I don’t expect you to do all the **nice to have** enhancements but I’d be using it like a madman if you did. People would want to buy a Toyota just so they could use your app. Cheers! 🥂

Went from 1 star to 5. OP: This app gets worse with every update. The app suite will not open and that’s after you find it. The weather channel feature doesn’t work without the app suite and the app suite won’t open. I have deleted the app and reinstalled it and nothing works. Edit 5/22. I have changed my rating from 1 star to 5 (for now) because……..the app is connecting automatically to my vehicle and I don’t have to fiddle with it prior to driving. Plus, the app suite is now functioning and I can use the features with ease. Thank you developers, now please leave it alone.

Terrible for needing to be a necessity. I’m sorry I don’t like writing bad reviews but for this app to be such a necessity that I can’t even see my tire pressure on my RAV4 other then by view this app is unacceptable. This app SHOULD be a 5-star app due to the developers putting their best and entire effort into making this app do everything g possible. Also I know this next comment isn’t an app problem but it’s kind of ridiculous that I can’t even use my screen that has a “map” button and it doesn’t have a map preprogrammed into the many computers that it takes to run the car. An excuse to say that you can’t is just that an excuse. We have super computers in our pockets. You can figure out how we can download maps automatically now a days.

Can’t login or contact. In a previous review (No iHeart Radio) you asked me to use the feedback form from within the app, but as I said in this review I can’t log in. Therefore I can’t give feedback from within the app feedback page. App won’t connect to iHeart radio anymore. Before upgrade it worked most of the time but not reliably. Today I tried to login but was advised that my mobile number was already in use so my login was denied. So I tried to login with my Apple ID but when I submitted my email address I got the same reply, my email address was already in use so my login was denied I tried using your web page support link but your support page opened to “Invalid page”. I can’t even contact you or leave a review of the app. Very disappointing!

My Toyota Entune 2019 is no longer supported in the App. Can Toyota not just leave things alone? My 2019 has the Entire system that is a bit of a throwback anyway and the Toyota app helped it be more functional with Alexa, iHeart, Live to Live and a few other apps that would connect to the system with the app running. First, everytime I open the app I have to log in again and not I get a message on my phone that the Toyota app does not support the apps anymore and if I want to use them run them on my phone. They are no longer managed on the Entune screen. This leaves those apps on the Entune scree in the car, orphaned and asking that the app be launched and the screen locks on the car. First this is a moving vehicle and should not require that much frustration. Can you back up a few versions.

Great minus Constantly signing in every other use. This app is convent and very handy especially with Siri commands. But I’m constantly being logged out requiring me to log back in something Siri obviously can’t do for me and here is the biggest inconvenience of this app. I mean if I was t hand free enough to open the app or long press on it for the stop option. Why do you think I’m hands free to log in the app over and over and over again despite selecting Keep me logged in this wonderful app will require me to log back in not even 3 hours later. Totally messing up the flow of my day. Toyota you can certainly do better. This much security in not needed at all
