SubaruConnect Comments & Reviews 2026
Need to allow more drivers. Primary driver is only one allowed to be on app. Can’t have second driver have their own remote capabilities. Need to fix this for app. Should be pretty straight forward since changing “authorized remote user” prompted me as “guest” driver but kicked off my partner who was listed as primary driver. And then she took back and kicked me off app. App is worthless unless only one driver of vehicle only.
Love this app. Love this app and the slick design. It has cool feature like remote commands and digital key which I'm super excited to use.
Missing critical functionality, poor performance. This app is almost useless. You must refresh multiple times to view your battery status. You can set a charging schedule based on time, but you can’t set a percentage threshold for charging, which is the industry standard. On top of all that, you have to pay a monthly subscription fee to use the app functionality. I left my subscription lapse, and I could not reconnect through the app without customer support. I was stuck in a circular problem with no solution in the app. And customer service had me use the SOS button to reconnect to the app??? Absolutely terrible design all around. Subaru and Toyota fumbled this so hard.
Needs Improvement. When it works, the app is nice and a valuable addition to the SOLTERRA ownership experience. It is not reliable. iPhone repeatedly asks to Allow Access for this App. The digital key is supposed to work for up to six phones. It only works on 1 of our 4 phones even after calling tech support. That one worked about 80% of the time, until my fell to zero %.
So many things missing….. I don’t usually bother with reviewing apps, but… App was updated a couple days ago and: * now reports expected drive time both with and without climate control — very nice. * no longer reports remaining time to full charge — boo and hiss! * still asking to allow remote connection every time There are other small things it should do but doesn’t: * identify the driver/profile on connect * allow multiple profiles I’d prefer to see the irritating little things fixed before any new and improved features (which I probably won’t use anyway). Right now, with the rough edges, it still feels like a beta release.
Please FIX mileage remaining. Currently the remaining mileage shown is with the climate controls OFF. Why you would choose to display CONTROLS OFF mileage instead of ON baffles me. What would be nice if you could display both BUT if your only option is to display one, then I would think the obvious default mileage remaining displayed would be with the climate controls ON.
Brand New…. Feels like it. Super excited to see Toyota and Subaru moving to EV and smart features. Generally speaking, the app is decent. However, like many other reviews. The BT authorization is awful; it always prompts every time you approach the car. And, not having App support for a second driver is bad. The second driver can get a digital key, pair with a fob, and profile in the car infotainment— just not the app?!?!
App isn’t very good.. Have not been able to remote start the car in about a week at this point. It’ll say sending request but then it’ll time out. The app just feels kinda clunky. It takes a long time for things to refresh/connect.
Can not afd second driver profile. The dealer refuses to help with the rough edges of this app. We are a two driver family and apparently the author of this app didn’t have a spouse. Rough edges don’t start to describe the app. it is so integrated with a car that a major portion of the cars disappears when you can set it up correctly. Several emails asking for help have all been ignored. The dealer won’t take our calls. We were the dealers first customer for a Solterra, so we expected rough edges. But, this is our third Subaru, and we have never expected bad treatment from them.
Requires access to your full contact list. Grossly dishonest to not allow your phone to connect to the car without giving up your entire contact list to Subaru. This wrecks Subarus reputation and blocks honest users that do not want to expose our friends private data to subaru marketing.
Remote Start is now a Subscription Service. One of the perks of this app what’s the very convenient remote start and locking feature. The key fob for the Subaru has terrible range and this app made up for that flaw. Since this latest update, the remote locking and start feature is now a subservience. I’m very disappointed with this.
Just awful. The app has very few functions, and doesn’t often work. This really needs to be fixed as I no longer have remote start capabilities, a big selling point here. Support offered by telephone only. I have an iPhone 14 and it’s up to date. My connection is fine, doesn’t work on data or WiFi.
Refresh screen over and over. Like others have stated, when trying to view the current battery percentage while charging, the screen needs to be refreshed multiple times, at least 4-6 times to show current battery charge. I haven’t really had any other issues, although that’s really all I use the app for. Sometimes to lock the car.
Work in Progress. Works most of the times but have yet been able to use it withough my key fob for operation of the vehicle. Living in Alaska, my primary reason for using it is to condition the cabin in the winter, for that it works great. I also like the notifications for leaving door unlocked or windows down.
Atrocious app. And then. After a year. They have the nerve to charge a monthly service fee for the garbage app that barely functions on its best day. So now, I can’t check the battery level of my car remotely from this app or otherwise without paying Subaru a monthly subscription fee? Absolutely the last Subaru I will ever touch. Good riddance.
Charging nightmares. I have traveled 1342 miles in my new Solterra and have charged it 8 or 10 times. Each time I was outside my area I had to find chargers and download an app for each one. At 1st my old IPhone had to be replaced to connect to the car and to all of the chargers! So I was out a thousand dollars right off the bat. When I got connected I found that most of the things I needed to use are fee based and the costs keep going up.
Do people really pay for this app?. It’s ok when it works…which is about 15% of the time. But there is no way I’ll use this app once the trial ends if it doesn’t improve.
It’s not 1950 Subaru. To design an app that only functions with one user…assuming a family car has one owner. Absurd. The “security work around” is for 2 people to share a sign on??? You do realize that’s the definition of Not Secure? Oh yeah, and all the other reviews complaints, those too.
Works 1/5 times at best. This app would be better if it worked never as I would never use it. The fact that it works one in five times is the most frustrating thing in the world. for a $45,000 car, I expect an app that works in 2024.
Remaining Charging Time Is Gone?. Was excited to see an app update available that changed the UI. Estimated range with both climate control on and off were added but remaining charging time is now gone? Seems like a poorly thought out decision as many EV owners use this to gauge how much down time they’ll have while charging.
Really basic and terrible app. It’s really embarrassing that a car company has developed and released such a terrible app. First of all it loads and operates like an old website, not a modern UI. The buttons and menus all react slowly if at all or just don’t work. As other reviewers indicated you need to constantly pull down and refresh to get any kind of updated data. The most important feature is the digital key, however this simply just doesn’t work a lot of the time, which is quite the issue if you are depending on it to open and start your car! Unlike Tesla it seems that you need to open the app first… however the app won’t open if phone service isn’t great which could potentially strand you. Then sometimes it just doesn’t work regardless. Really poor showing on the app.
Downgraded. They did an update about a week ago, I can’t see that anything changed for the better. Now it is worse. It used to display the odometer reading, not it just shows “mileage…mi”. They show test it before they release an update.
15% of the time it works 100% of the time!. Great when it works but it takes 2-4 refreshes to just get an updated battery charge status. And as of now, I can’t get the updated status at all! So yeah, not a great app.
Needs to update better. On a positive note: The app is useful for finding charging stations near you, remote start and locking your car remotely. On a negative note: Charging the car and checking percentage is poorly updated. Takes me 6-7 tries of refreshing the screen to get the correct percentage charged. Even while charging it at a station, this is the only time it will update faster. Still have to tap refresh a few times to get an accurate percentage.
Not bad, but could use some updates. Serves main function of scheduling climate control. It would be great if it had efficiency data. It would be great to see how driving changes efficiency in the app. The watch app would be great if it didn’t log out every two seconds! Taking away one star for that.
Disconnected by update requiring iOS 16.0. The last version wasn’t great, but it ran on iOS 15. The latest update requires iOS 16, which my device can’t run. That wouldn’t be so bad, except that the updater blocks the old app from running while telling me the new version requires iOS 16. None of the dozen or so charging apps I use require iOS 16. Some of them are backward compatible to iOS 12. I understand the extra costs associated with maintaining backward iOS compatibility, but developers who have successful apps do it to support their customer base. Apparently Subaru/Toyota is not that kind of developer and doesn’t care whether their Connected Services are useable. Time for me to disconnect.
Horrible. This app easily matches how horrible the software in the car is. Toyota needs to hire some high school kids to rewrite this (and the car UI) and turn it into a useful, usable app. There’s not enough room to document all the shortcomings as many others have said. Unfortunately the “profile system” is fundamentally broken so there’s also little room to put lipstick on that pig, and the car can’t perform the basic functions documented in the user guide, so there’s little hope for this app to improve.
Super annoying to have installed. The app works… okay ish. There are a few huge issues it has though: - App prompts for permission to connect to the car *constantly*. Like, if you are within 10’ of the car it will trigger a prompt - while using other apps - to allow permission to connect. It does this when you’re in the car, already connected via CarPlay or whatever. It does this while walking by the car. It does this while unloading the car. It does this while charging the car. It literally hijacks your phone anytime you are near it. It’s to the point that I might just uninstall it entirely because I get no benefit from it. - If app has permission to access location data, it will mark itself as a navigation app and stay running in the background (draining battery life). Even when you aren’t doing anything with it. It just… really, really wants to know where your phone is all the time, even if you are nowhere near your car. This is a HUGE red flag. - App doesn’t enable EV routing features in Apple Maps, which is super close to being a deal breaker - Digital Key doesn’t integrate with the iOS CarKey framework, so it relies on being able to pair via Bluetooth All in all - the app is a case study in how not to make an iOS app for electric vehicles. You’re better off not using it at all than using the small number of features it enables.
Works 10% of the time. When it works, you can remotely start your car! For a bit it took me 4 tries to do this - about 25% of the time. Recently, I’ve been just out of luck with this app. If it only was supposed to let me check the miles on my car, I would rate it a 4/5. It’s fine. I have to reload it frequently. But adding in the car start feature (that my remote on my Honda can do easily) it drops quite a bit. I hope that this gets better. I thought there was an update and it would be fine. Ha! Nope.
Battery Drainer. The app is always running in the background. App is not user friendly. Does not have the option to name the scheduler or enable scheduler based on location. App does neither integrate with Apple Maps, nor shows charging stations along route.
A bit glitchy, but nice when it works. I hope Subaru fixes these bugs. I have observed a few glitches that I’d like to report: 1. After remote starting the car, the Bluetooth disconnects with my phone and I have to manually reconnect it upon entering the car. 2. The remote climate control settings stopped working today. The options to select the climate features are gone and I get the following error message: “An unexpected error occurred, please try again.”
Bluetooh. This app is very buggy with my new Solterra. I've been trying to figure out what the problem might but but at least half the time the phone connect to bluetooth fine, but can't get Carplay to work. You always have to grant permission for the app to connnect to the car... very annoying!
Decent, but could be better. The app itself is very easy to use and I appreciate the security. I also appreciate the capability of the op on Apple Watch. However everytime you open the app to check vehicle status, you do have to re open and refresh the app multiple times to get the most accurate information. That being said it is still not a terrible app and I feel as some people are biased since this is a Toyota based system.
It works on a basic level. Ok-ish. It is nice to be able to check battery percentage. Annoying that you cannot have 2 drivers. The constant notifications are also annoying. It would be nice if it saved trip data and energy usage/mi.
Remote Charge Functions. Latest update fixed my remote clinate issue! I have a request though, any way to add a Start/Stip function to the Remote Charge section? Like basically if it's plugged in at home and you want to stop it from charging, just a handy feature to have..
This app is comically bad. What it does well: Remote lock/unlock Remote start What it does poorly: Pretty much everything else. My experience: It doesn’t keep vehicle information up to date; you’ll be refreshing a lot, and sometimes it works! It hasn’t tracked my mileage since before it hit 1,000 miles. Now, I just get an ellipses… It asks to connect to my car multimedia system every. Single. Day. Its alerts are inconsistent and strangely worded. This app is fine for extremely basic functions but falls short everywhere else. It’s a poorly designed app with abysmal execution and absolutely no indication that it will ever be fixed.
Worthless. Terrible app, terrible UI, digital key has an internal service error that will probably never be fixed, and more cards looking for you to subscribe to 1,000 services over being actually useful.
Need the previous version. The newest update on the app removed the ability to see how much time left there was to charge. Very inconvenient when charging at a charging station. Please bring that feature back!
OK… room for improvement. The app in its current state is sufficient at best. As one other reviewer put it, it becomes an endless battle of refreshing the status screen, then the Home Screen, then back to the status screen, then back to the Home Screen just to get this app to update the battery percentage on the main page. In the beginning, it would also show me the current odometer mileage… that worked till about 3500 miles… now it just shows three ellipses after the “Mileage” title. Not sure why, it has less than 5k miles on it, so no extra digit yet. The first year of Solterra Connect is free… unless substantial functionality improvements I probably won’t pay for this. The car is great, with some quirks, but I still enjoy it daily. The app however, hard pass as it stands in the current state.
Come a long way. Works better than it did day 1, they are listening to some of the complaints! Things I still wish to see are; -Being able to set charge limit via app -Support for remote connect on more than one profile -Widgets for home and Lock Screen -Apple Watch app, not having to have the app open on my phone to see status
Doesn’t support households. The app only allows one person, designated as primary driver, to add the SOLTERRA in My Garage. A spouse, who is also a driver, can’t add it and does not have access to the apps information about the car’s status, a serious gap for our household. MySubaru app for our hybrid is functional for both husband and wife but not this app. The app needs to be updated for households where both parties can add the car and check its status in the app.
Really tired of refreshing. Other than having to refresh multiple multiple multiple times just to get the correct info you are looking for from the app, it works. But having to refresh 3-4x minimum when just trying to find out the battery level is beyond annoying at this point. Definitely not worth paying any money for this product
Not thought out. As others have stated, the app can only pair to one driver. In a family that has 2 drivers, the app is beyond frustrating. When you call into support, they say you need to share the one account—let’s go over why this does not work: 1. Notifications go berserk if only one of the drivers leave which make the notification more than useless 2. Setting profiles and keys to drivers confuses the crap out of the system. If you are drastically different sizes of your spouse, the larger one will have a bad time if the car pairs to the wrong person 3. The above makes the digital keys useless 4. Digital keys are useless The only thing that the app is capable of doing is providing a current charge status and that has been lagging and glitchy too. I hope Toyota does put in as much time into the Solterra app as the BZ4X or please have Subaru develop one that works for the customer.
Sometimes works, sometimes doesn’t. Pretty frustrating. Sometimes the app will work for a day, you can just walk up to you far and it recognizes that you have a key and voila. Today was not that day. Each time I would have to fiddle w the app and eventually it would unlock the car or let me start it. Don’t bother calling customer service - not helpful either
Love the car, hate the app. Bought a new 2023 Touring and love it, but the app is ridiculous. Took so long to connect a key with the dealer on pickup day. Plus, I’m trying to share a digital key with a family member and they do get the text, click the link, are redirected to the AppStore to download the app they already have, and nothing happens. No key ever loads, and the button to add car remains. I’m on an iPhone 14 IOS 17.4. I can have the other person login as me and see everything and my digital key, but that defeats the purpose of sharing 1 of 7 digital keys. Poor app functionality, and once my free year trial is up the service isn’t worth the $9 a month with capabilities that don’t work. Just want an app that works!
App got in the way of charging. I was trying to charge my car for the first time. I tried first at a ChargePoint location, but it never started charging. Then I tried a blink location. No luck. Each time, I’d download a new app, create an account, add my credit card, and then nothing would happen. I tried Electrify America because everyone said it was their favorite. That didn’t work, either. I started to think I was losing my mind. I ended up having to rent a car while the Subaru dealership investigated because I needed to get to an appointment Saturday morning. The dealership had no problem charging. So when I got my car back, I tried again at Electrify America. This time, it got hung up initializing for about a minute, then it flashed an alert that the car had stopped charging. Immediately after that, an update for the Solterra app appeared. Once I updated the Solterra app, the Electrify America charger worked. But the Solterra app still showed that I had only 30 percent charged. It was only when I logged out of the Solterra app and logged back in that the charging percentage finally synced. Just be aware that if you have trouble charging, the Solterra app may be getting in the way. That’s my hypothesis.
Make sure the Solterra is on the same network as your phone. I was having problems until I realized my phone and Solterra were on different networks (5ghz vs 2.4ghz). One star deduction for them removing the time to finish charging on the app.
Refresh Does Not Works. This app is very slow and buggy. The refresh options, which there are three that I know about, never actually refresh the car’s status while in the app. The only time I can get it to refresh is by opening the app, go to the charging page, hit refresh, close the app, and open it back up.
Update took features away. So the app was pretty barren to begin with. Just some really basic info and functions for the car. Saw there was an update and thought “finally, they are moving out of the EV dark ages to provide some decent functionality.” Nope. They took features away. I used to be able to actively see the charge percentage of the car. Now, I can only see the last updated are of charge. Refresh does not update. The most annoying part. The car also doesn’t show percentage of charge - just “miles” and “time” to full charge. The tech with this app and car is abysmal - and even worse with the update. Great car, terrible technology.
Useless. Had a free trial after purchasing the vehicle. The app was mildly helpful but eventually parts of it stopped working. When my trial expired, I renewed (for a fee) to see if fixes had been made. Renewing required reinstalling the link between the phone and vehicle apps which didn’t work. Multiple support staff were unable to get it linked. Barely worth it when it was free, definitely not worth it for a fee.

App needs improvements.. How is it you make such great cars and this app is mediocre.
Feels incomplete. For one: the digital key has never worked and keeps on just refreshing. Still unable to unlock, lock or start with the digital key. Extremely slow to connect to the car and an updated status. The watch app cannot connect unless the phone app is running which defies the entire purpose of having it on the watch.
Too few features. The app as it has been shipped feels like a beta version to me. A few basic features I would expect are missing: seeing the stats for past trips, getting the kWh consumption when charging and the history, being able to actually remote start the car and not just start climate control Hoping to see these added in the future!
Manque quelques trucs. Pourrait être améliorée. Lorsqu’on utilise le réglage de la minuterie, la température est en farenheit. Les statistiques de consommation devraient être disponible sur l’application.
Update Glitch. Glitch with the new update. I could not lock my car through the app anymore. Thrash. Really starting to regret trading my Crosstrek for the Solterra.
Simply cannot refresh battery status!. When I pull up this app to simply check the battery percentage status, I expect to see the current status of the battery. This app does not do that. It shows me the status 10 mins ago. I always have to press the refresh symbol multiple times to see the real-time status. Could the app developer please get this simple function done right? I will definitely check back and leave 5 star once this is fixed 🙏🏼
Glitch with the app. I struggled for about a month to get this app to work. After almost a month of trying, Subaru finally resolved it. I enjoyed the features for about a week and then the app crashed and now I cannot even get it going again. Very disappointing!
Meh.. The app was better when I bought the car in December 2022 … it estimated the amount of time the battery needed to charge. The newest version doesn’t tell me. How will I know when it’s fully charged?! 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️
Horrible. Awful app. Glitchy. Poor connectivity. Unreliable feedback. How awful of Subaru to get rid of the command start on the key Fob which worked perfectly fine, and replace it with this awful unreliable app. Gone are the days of a reliable command start. Super disappointed.
This app isn’t great. There’s obviously a glitch and it doesn’t show how much your battery is charged which really is the whole point and the app is generally quite useless except if you want to lock or unlock or start the car. If I’m travelling and I want to know where my charge it at that’s pretty important. Even when it’s refreshed it still doesn’t work and is inaccurate. That’s not safe or convenient. Needs a fix. .
Good MVP. Solid MVP, hasn’t bugged out on me yet. If the car is connected to the phone, sometimes the app won’t load because it doesn’t have a data connection. Would love to see some of the same stats from the car under in the app (it’s cold in Canada and I don’t want to sit in the car looking at them). Would also like to see more under the ‘Advanced settings’ or ‘Charge management’. Of course, I also want to see the % state of charge and not only the guess-o-meter, but I know this is already in the works. Hoping to see some great iterations of this app.
Really slow. Really slow app, I am pretty disappointed by the app right now. Hope it will be updated soon.
Bad. In the 2 years I’ve had the app, I’ve been able to unlock the car using the app maybe twice. Possible the worst digital key out there.
Needs More Features. The app is getting better with each update. However, it needs more features that are an absolute must for EVs. A big one is the ability to change the maximum state of charge (charge limit) to whatever percentage we want in the app (ex. 80%, 90%, 100%). Also, you need to be able to do this while the car is charging (plugged in). Currently we have to unplug the car, turn it on and change it from the car’s multi media settings then turn the car off, and plug it back in. If I know I am going on a road trip tomorrow and want 100% overnight I should be able to change this right from the app without having to go out to my car and do the above. Also, it would be nice if remote climate/start could run longer than 20 minutes. Give us at least 30 mins.
Not well designed, errors. The Solterra Connect app allows only one "Primary Driver" meaning I can only use Apple Car Play but not connect directly to the vehicle as my wife connected first as the "Primary Driver". The only real use for the app to us is to check the remaining range and percent charged remotely but those numbers never coincide with what the car itself reports when you get in. Overall pretty worthless app that seems to be a way to push for service and promote long term billing.
Latest version has major issue!!. The latest version of this app (mid-July 2023) has a major problem - you can no longer see the current state of charging! Previous versions - while clunky - still allowed you to see the battery percentage while charging. This one does not. This is a really big flaw. Please, please fix this ASAP.
Stay away. Appreciate your Solterra without this connected services app. It's poorly integrated with Toyota services that this app is bringing down both the Toyota and Subaru brands. It generates only one error message and that is "Oops ... try again later. " Sucks to the max. This app single handedly made me regret switching to a novelty EV car. I should've trusted my instincts and not go for loyalty.

Subaru, You’re Better Than This. The app is great for basic function, but it requires refreshing 8-9 times before the battery charge status updates and other parts of the app. C’mon Subaru, put a little money into your tech.
Typical crap car company app.. I guess if you only have one person who uses the car and you don’t mind constantly pushing buttons to try and make the app and the car get along but in the real world, this app is absolute garbage.
all I need. works great for my vehicle needs
Terrible. The percentage of battery remaining and miles to charge never match the car’s dashboard. What’s the point? We are a one car couple. Only my husband can personalize the app. Useless.
More features?. Nice UI update on the recent version. Still missing: Can you please add simple things like a charging graph, history of charging, current kWh speed, total cycles, max charge? Would be really helpful…
App rarely works right. Takes forever to connect. Fails 9 times out of 10 and to top it off they have the audacity to charge for this nonsense to work. Mega fail Subaru. Be better.
Mediocre at best. Updating range estimates during charging takes several refreshes. Awkward U/I. No updates since at least Nov. 23
Love this app. Love this app and the slick design. It has cool feature like remote commands and digital key which I'm super excited to use.
Was good. Now isn’t.. This most recent update fully tanked the ability to lock and unlock remotely. That’s a major issue for “connected” vehicles
Over Priced App. The Digital key will not work. Because this is not a Subaru app there is no come back . It’s owned by Toyota . So they do not care. I like my car and been a good supporter of the car but Subaru are not a supporter of the app.
Awful. Truly an awful app. Barely functional, and of course you have to pay for every little feature. Works almost as bad as the software in the SOLTERRA itself. You’ll be lucky if you can get your device to connect AND function at the same time.
I wish I’d bought a Volkswagen instead.. The app is hopeless and the Toyota info system is awful. The entire “connect” concept is atrociously misguided and a constant annoyance. Why must this car have a profile? It’s me, the same idiot who drove the car the last time and will drive it the next time. Same idiot who didn’t buy a Volkswagen instead. It has really soured my opinion of an otherwise fine car.
Worst car app I’ve ever used. I also have a Tesla, so this is largely in comparison to that experience. Tesla app is great. Somehow, Subaru managed to make an app that actually subtracts from the already terrible Solterra experience. Everything the Tesla app does well, the Subaru app does poorly.
Getting worse. App is very laggy with recent IOS updates. 25 apps have had multiple updates since IOS updates, this one zero. Thanks Subaru/Toyota the Solterra frustration continues. Latest Update who creates an app that makes it impossible to delete notifications? That is pathetic developer laziness
Did the update, wish I hadn’t!. The initial app worked fine, and then after updating today, the status menu is in an endless loop of showing it’s loading! Very disappointed!
Appallingly bad app. The Solterra is built by Toyota and so, apparently, is this app. And Toyota is either really bad at apps and connectivity, or they don’t care about the Solterra or Subaru customers. Bad design, poor interface, spotty connectivity.
Worst Auto App ever.. I’m unsure how this app is so terrible considering I used to have the Subaru mobile app for my crosstrek and it worked great. If you plan on using the app for remote start often, get another car!!!!
Perfect Companion. Love the app, made it seamless to set up my navigation.
Need the previous version. The newest update on the app removed the ability to see how much time left there was to charge. Very inconvenient when charging at a charging station. Please bring that feature back!
Absolute Garbage. It literally doesn't work. It's the worst vehicle connect app I've ever used. I use the ford app for work and it just works like it should. This app is infuriating. Completely broken.
Working well until it just stopped.. Just like the title said. But it just closed me out on November 3-4. I can’t get back into to the app. Hmmm??!
Bluetooh. This app is very buggy with my new Solterra. I've been trying to figure out what the problem might but but at least half the time the phone connect to bluetooth fine, but can't get Carplay to work. You always have to grant permission for the app to connnect to the car... very annoying!
Do people really pay for this app?. It’s ok when it works…which is about 15% of the time. But there is no way I’ll use this app once the trial ends if it doesn’t improve.
Worthless. Terrible app, terrible UI, digital key has an internal service error that will probably never be fixed, and more cards looking for you to subscribe to 1,000 services over being actually useful.
Loved it. Easy and works well.
Broke my Solterra. My Solterra has been at the dealership for more than a month while they try to figure out what is draining the 12v battery. I told them it was the app on the first day I took it in, but they didn’t believe me. Over a month later and they are having me delete the app and my account. Hmm.
Battery Drainer. The app is always running in the background. App is not user friendly. Does not have the option to name the scheduler or enable scheduler based on location. App does neither integrate with Apple Maps, nor shows charging stations along route. App is useless without a subscription.
New update. App isn’t updated charging correctly now please fix . Nothing will refresh not sure if car is charging or not why did you force a bad update.
No better. Out side of charge and miles nothing have improved. They same issued I’ve spoke off are still present; especially the crappy Bluetooth permissions.
Works great so far. Has worked great for me so far. Please add Siri and Alexa support!
Downgraded. They did an update about a week ago, I can’t see that anything changed for the better. Now it is worse. It used to display the odometer reading, not it just shows “mileage…mi”. They show test it before they release an update.
Owner. I have a Prius Prime which has the Toyota Version of this app. Yet although they are the same app the Toyota version has much more useful features and a Dark mode. Just make it the same to Toyota.
Second driver cannot see car status. This just doesn’t work for two drivers in a household. My spouse cannot add the car to his app to monitor status. Please update ASAP.
Terrible font. I hate the look of the new update. The font is small and features seem harder to find on the app!
Last update broke it. Haven’t been able to see my car’s charge since Nov 8, 2024. Remote start doesn’t work either. Useless app
Works 1/5 times at best. This app would be better if it worked never as I would never use it. The fact that it works one in five times is the most frustrating thing in the world. for a $45,000 car, I expect an app that works in 2024.
Doesn’t work. Charging status does not work, you cannot set a charging percentage limit which is literally industry standard. Need refresh multiple times to even give you accurate information.
Bad before the update. Worse now.. This app wasn’t very good before. But they’ve completely broken it now. It doesn’t update the charge, can barely lock or unlock it. The clunky design and navigation are definitely worse now. Why is this so bad? I mean it’s unusable it’s so bad!
Worthless. Unpaid version is worthless and paid subscription is very limited and expensive as much as I like the car Subaru and Toyota should be ashamed of themselves for putting a very expensive product that is not up to today’s standards.
Constantly get 400 errors when trying to set home address. Constantly getting 400 errors when trying to set home address. Have spent hours with support- no help whatsoever
Update is much worse. Who knew that they could make the app even worse. Where are all the features that were there before? Where are the timers/a\scheduled starts now?
Can not afd second driver profile. The dealer refuses to help with the rough edges of this app. We are a two driver family and apparently the author of this app didn’t have a spouse. Rough edges don’t start to describe the app. it is so integrated with a car that a major portion of the cars disappears when you can set it up correctly. Several emails asking for help have all been ignored. The dealer won’t take our calls. We were the dealers first customer for a Solterra, so we expected rough edges. But, this is our third Subaru, and we have never expected bad treatment from them.
New version a step back. The new version allows automations on IOS devices. But it does not allow drivers to stay signed in for more than 72 hours, limiting its utility and dependability.
Requires access to your full contact list. Grossly dishonest to not allow your phone to connect to the car without giving up your entire contact list to Subaru. This wrecks Subarus reputation and blocks honest users that do not want to expose our friends private data to subaru marketing.
It’s not 1950 Subaru. To design an app that only functions with one user…assuming a family car has one owner. Absurd. The “security work around” is for 2 people to share a sign on??? You do realize that’s the definition of Not Secure? Oh yeah, and all the other reviews complaints, those too.
Disappointing. I just got this car about a week ago and still haven’t been able to use the app. Even tho I’m registered the app tells me I’m not.
Can’t load status. The new update makes the status impossible to load. It won’t update my battery percentage so I have no idea where I am for charging without checking the car itself.
TOTAL GARBAGE and BLACK HOLE FOR FRUSTRATING WASTE OF TIME. THIS GARBAGE MAKES IT DIFFICULT TO EVEN MANAGE THE CHARGING OF MY SOLTERRA VEHICLE. Given the terrible difficulty this app presents for managing the charging of my Solterra vehicle. I will not be purchasing another Subaru vehicle again, even though I have happily driven Subaru gas powered vehicles for many years.
App isn’t very good.. Have not been able to remote start the car in about a week at this point. It’ll say sending request but then it’ll time out. The app just feels kinda clunky. It takes a long time for things to refresh/connect.
