Universalis Comments & Reviews 2026

Hymns. The site is most useful but the selection of hymns is poor. During seasons such as Lent and Advent the same hymns are used day after day. Some are long and use archaic language. Since I pray the Office of Readings and Morning Prayer one after the other - as I suppose other people also do - the same hymn is used for both hours. There is a very rich hymnody in the English language, both older and newer, so I believe that the choice of hymns should reflect that tradition. Thank you.

Including the option to use the New American Bible for the Liturgy Of The Hours is mandatory. The app has been awesomely created and in presentation it looks qualitatlively superior to all the other free apps I‘ve run into so far for the Liturgy Of The Hours. I live in the US and have recently started to lead a prayer group in my workplace, and here comes the big problem: fellows familiar with the Office and owners of physical breviaries or users of free apps follow the New American Bible translation. And of course I cannot force people to spend money in an app just because I as the leader just feel comfortable using the Universalis app and hence following a Bible translation that nobody else follows in my group... So I guess in the meantime I‘m gonna start using another app like iBreviary, which is great and uses the NAB translation but is not that flexible and rich as Universalis. That until hopefully the Universdalis developers incorporate the NAB option as it‘s the case for the Readings at Mass. I don‘t regret having spent 11 bucks for the app though; like I said, it‘s been a great tool but for the moment just for personal prayer here in the US, maybe not for group prayers with American fellows.

Liturgical Living Made Easier. My wife and I recently have decided to have our family homeschool and live liturgically. And this app makes everything unbelievably easier for me as the leader of the house. The saints of the day is really really interesting. Having all this integrated into our shared iCal is amazing for our family. Oh and Latin! 🥰 keep up the great work!

The Lay. We must do our part. We must pray and learn. As Bishop Sheen said, if lay people could just give 15-30 minutes of solid prayer. Jesus asked Peter for one hour. We can at least give 15 everyday. I found routine I like and I love learning of the early church writings. When I see people like Bishop Barron sending out post about the same Saints I just read. Means we are reading the same text together. Very cool.

Love the spiritual readings. I was introduced through Laudate to this app. It is a great part of my daily routine now. My favorite section is the spiritual readings because it has introduced me to the writings of Church Fathers and Christian teachings. I do recommend the app. If it has Spanish option that would be great for those family members that only want to read Catholic content in Spanish.

Fantastic Resource and Well Designed Interface. BRAVO. I am a Lector and am very familiar with the official Lectionary of the Catholic Church. Universalis always gets the Calendar, Readings, and Mass prayers correct. I use Universalis “Readings at Mass” and “About Today” every day for my personal study and devotion. In addition, when attending Mass at a church where there are no full Missalettes, I use the “Mass Today” and “Order of the Mass”: it is always right on the mark for the entire readings and prayers for the Mass! I also like the ability to quickly go to any day of the Liturgical year and see the Feast/Memorial of the Saint of that day. Universalis has already added the brand new Feast “Mary the Mother of the Church” for the Monday after Pentecost! Praying the Liturgy of the Hours is somewhat complex for the average lay-person. Universalis makes it simple. The translations are different than some Breviaries, so may not be as useful for group recitation if all do not have the App. But the essence of each prayer is the same. May not be 100 pct perfect, but the ability to pray the LOH anytime, anywhere on your mobile device is literally a God-send. NOTE: to get the correct readings and calendar for your Diocese - it is important to go to the settings and select the local liturgical calendar for your country / region. For instance, in the USA, 6 Diocese celebrate The Ascension on the Thursday; the remainder celebrate on the Sunday. The Universalis settings options get it right.

Great prayer app. This is an app that I use daily. I started off using Universalis for praying Morning and Evening prayer. But I quickly found out it has a lot more useful options such as all the other prayers of the Liturgy of the Hours including the option to combine the Office of Readings with Morning prayer, and the option to choose the two year or one year cycle for the Office of Readings. It also has several good Books to choose from for daily spiritual reading (reading a small excerpt each day) and Lectio Divina, the Angelus, and the Rosary.

God bless you, Universalis!! 😇. I had been using the Divine Office and now deciding their Hymns to be like a cookie cutter…same authors/music and other generic qualities that I’ve noticed over time. Now I’ve paid for Universalis, and never happier I be now!! It’s more than worth the price. These folks have gone the extra mile with ease of operation, as well as the marvelous user friendly options. The best part…I don’t need to activate the web to use this. Simply FANTASTIC!! I wish to thank ALL the folks who’ve made this app possible for all of us.💫 THANK YOU!!!

Excellent!. I use this app everyday to follow along at Holy Mass (Mass of St. Paul VI). The additional features, e.g. saints of the day, spiritual reading, and scriptural commentary, are wonderful to keep me attentive during mental prayer. While I do not regularly pray the Divine Office, it is a blessing to have it available within the same app. The layout of the entire app is beautiful and conducive to prayer. While there is little I can suggest to make this app even more useful, I would say that the widgets could use a facelift, and readings and prayers for the Mass in the Extraordinary Form (Mass of St. John XXIII) would be a much appreciated addition. All in all, I’m grateful I purchased this app over ten years ago!

The Best App for the Liturgy of the Hours. As someone who prays the Liturgy of the Hours daily, I can honestly say that Universalis is one of the most spiritually enriching and reliable apps I’ve ever used. It’s become a central part of my daily prayer life and I highly recommend it to anyone looking to deepen their relationship with God through the rhythm of the Church’s prayer. The “About Today” section is one of my favorite features. Each morning, I start by reading about the saint of the day or the feast being celebrated. These reflections immediately draw my mind toward God and set a reverent tone for the day. The app includes all the canonical hours—Office of Readings, Morning Prayer, Mid-Morning, Midday, Afternoon, Evening Prayer, and Night Prayer—and they are all expertly compiled. The layout is clear, the translations are faithful and beautiful, and everything flows in a way that encourages not just reading, but real prayer. There are also additional features I’ve only begun to explore. The app includes access to spiritual books, broken up into short daily readings, which I’m looking forward to diving into more. Another highlight for me is the Rosary, which I pray daily using Universalis. I love how the app incorporates Scripture between each Hail Mary, bringing the mysteries to life and helping me stay focused and contemplative throughout the decades. Universalis is more than just a liturgical calendar or prayer book—it’s a well-crafted tool for daily devotion that helps bring the liturgy, Scripture, and the saints into every part of your day. Whether you’re praying alone, in a group, or on the go, this app makes it easy to stay connected to the heartbeat of the Church.

Transformed my prayer life. I always wanted to engage morning and evening prayer using the catholic liturgical calendar and liturgy of the hours. I had some success, but felt there should be a better way. The Universalis app is almost too good to be true. First of all, the app is world-class and offers a beautiful, super intuitive user interface. Furthermore, it meets the challenge to create a Breviary that is accurate, comprehensive and provides customization for each person or group to make their own decisions within the structure of the Liturgy of the Hours. My time in prayer has exploded from perhaps 15 minutes per day (on most days) to about an hour a day because of this app…and I never miss a day. It has inspired me so much that I have goals for growing my time in prayer each day further. Thank you for this life-giving app!

Compassion, Intention, Teaching. Although our Lectionary is a bit different, your reading has the intention of the Word that helps my understanding. You are teaching me in practice to proclaim with the Holy Spirit to our congregation, Saint Angela Merici, in Pacific Grove, California. The resources you provide are essential to a deeper probe into the poetry of the Word of God. Thank you for coming to my side in this glorious journey. I look forward to the compassion in your voice and professionalism in teaching and proclaiming. I pray for your peace and strength. Beverley Ann Schmidt

Much better than iBreviary. Unlike early editions from years ago, all the antiphons and prayers seem to be exactly according to the official breviary. This app has completely downloaded all the prayers and options, so you don’t need a regular Wi-Fi connection to pray the office. My only annoyance is that the drop-down menu to switch between hours (e.g. from vespers to compline) is in the same place as the iOS switch windows dropdown, which makes it easy to hit the wrong button. That’s rather annoying, but my only complaint.

Love Universalis. It is easy to use. I can quickly get to the daily Mass readings. I can choose which version. Also if the lecture is doing an alternate reDing I can easily switch. I also know ahead of time if there are alternative readings. Great for when I am a lecture. I have a notification for the 12:00 prayers. And it brings me right to my prayers. Also new that I came be reminded of my loved ones date of death and read something that I have written about them.

Superior app for the Mass readings in Liturgy of the Hours. This app is far superior to any others for both the readings of the Mass, and the Liturgy of the Hours. It is accessible whether or not one has access to the Internet. The new addition of the spiritual reading is very helpful. I also like the Lectio. I utilize nearly every section. Thank you for your continuous updates and improvements. I have been using this app for over six years.

A wonderful practice to add to your life. I got this app wanting to get all the guesswork taken out of the liturgy of the hours since I had never even heard of the practice before. It’s wonderful to start the day with scripture and songs and meditation. Bonus points of peacefulness when I pray it outside in the morning. I love that this is a flat rate and not a subscription. Totally worth it, it’s like buying a book.

This app continues to impress me every day. I started using Universalis a few years ago ago for Morning Prayer. I love the speakers’s tone and reading speed. Once iOS 14 allowed developers to use widgets, this app immediately creates beautiful widgets that are color-coded based on the liturgical calendar. Additionally, I just discovered that they have a CarPlay app for easy access to prayers in the car. This app and it’s developed deserve more credit!

What a joy to use. This has been a game changer for me in terms of opening up the Liturgy of the Hours to me as a lay person. I tried to learn how to do it with all the ribbons in a print version…but I just didn’t have enough brain space available to pull it off. Universalis has made it all easy so I can focus on the actual prayer. It’s such a relief. Also, I just paid once and I’m always up to date. I couldn’t be happier with my purchase.

SIMPLE YET THOROUGH SCRIPTURE THROUGHOUT EACH DAY. The app is beautiful in its simplicity, structure, adherence to the correct literary wordings, and thoroughness of readings and instructional stories. I start each day reading About Today, inspiring stories about the saints. I then read Readings at Mass, that are correct scripture readings for Mass each day of the year. Then I read the Office. In this way I gain knowledge and understanding of God’s desire for us to be obedient to His commandments, how He abhors wickedness and rewards righteousness with kindness and mercy. It helps me to focus each day on doing God’s will. Before falling asleep each day, I try to read the Compline, apologizing to God for any offense I may have committed, thanking Him for all the graces given during the day, and asking Him to keep me safe and near to Him forever.

Almost perfect. I love this app. It has almost everything I can think of to make it possible to follow Mass, to pray, to read.... The things I would love to have are: access to the continued readings when using the proper readings of the saint of the day or the optional readings for a common Mass (this is what is done where I go to Mass) also to have drop down menus to choose from a selection of proper readings instead of having to scroll through all the options (e.g. all the possible readings for Our Lady on Saturday) to get to the ones chosen by the priest, and to be able to select from votive Masses (e.g. votive of the Eucharist is said a lot on Thursdays where I go to Mass). I love reading about all those venerable English martyrs... great examples for us today. Thanks, Universalis!

Universalis. I really appreciate this app! I am able to read the Lectio Divina and the reading daily before mass. It helps me be prepared for the reading and I am more attentive to the homily. I really love the spiritual readings! They are timeless and beautiful. The office of the readings is very convenient even if I am unable to read them all in one day. This is helping me in my spiritual growth. It is convenient to access when waiting for appointments or when taking a pause at work to refocus.

Very nearly perfect. The two elements of the Catholic liturgy are the Mass and the Liturgy of the Hours (or Divine Office). This app gives you both in one package, serving as a joint missal and breviary. The order of the Mass and the prayers and readings for each day can be viewed separately, or can be viewed together to provide the whole of each daily Mass. These can be tailored to fit your local calendar. All the hours of the Liturgy of the Hours are provided as well, with all the elements in their proper places—no need to switch volumes and set ribbons! The hymns used in the Hours are drawn from an English repertoire, and personally I find them better than those used in the United States. In addition, there’s information about each day’s saints and the authors in the Office of Readings, resources for spiritual reading, and a guide for lectio divina, as well as the Angelus and Rosary. So why very nearly perfect, and not perfect? The print version of the Liturgy of the Hours is prefaced by a General Introduction, which provides an overview of the liturgy and guidelines for saying the Hours. In particular, there’s a chapter in the Introduction on the rites to be followed when saying the Hours communally. I think it would be an improvement if the General Introduction were included in the app, and if instructions on what to do in a communal setting were provided in the appropriate places, as they are provided in the order of the Mass. This version of the Liturgy of the Hours seems to be intended primarily for private use, but I think it would be useful to provide guidance for communal use as well. One could even take over those communal elements into private practice, were one aware of them. (For example, crossing oneself at the beginning of each hour and at the beginning of the Gospel canticles.) Still, I can’t recommend this app highly enough. It’s easily the best app of its kind.

Excellent Divine Office App. This app is very frequently updated. It has many extras including free books to read. I was able to use the Anglican Ordinariate calendar for North America! For a small monthly fee you have access to the spoken word by a human for all the hours. Also you can choose the Bible translation for the Mass. There are many other choices as well. Altogether this is an app which over delivers for the money.

Very helpful prayer app. I have been using Universalis for many years and I enjoy it more now than ever. I converted to Catholicism over 20 years ago and found Universalis on my journey into the Catholic Church when I was going through RCIA (now OCIA). I wanted to start praying the Liturgy of Hours and thankfully found Universalis which made praying the Hours so much easier and less intimidating. I love the Liturgy of the Hours and all the additional help, prayers, history, and insights provided by Universalis! Keep praying and many thanks!

Great App! The Developers Listen!!!. Curios about LOTH, just starting, every once in a while (myself), or every day prayer… This app is a must if you use electronic format! I have the notifications set up in the background (just in case I make time to pray)… it works! The readings grab you, scriptures draw you in, and before you know it… you’re participating in the ongoing liturgy. I recommend you read through the ‘Help and Tips’ section under information. There are so many options to personalize the way you use this app… I may have missed something, but after reading all the comments, it appears the developers have worked through all the comments (requests and critiques) to meet the needs of the users. Great app! So thankful! Praise be to the Lord Jesus!

I love the “comprehensiveness” of Universalis. This is, hands down, my favorite app - all the way to the monthly e-mails I get letting me know of any updates and changes. Thank you to all who obviously work so hard to make this happen and that you make the readings so pleasant to listen to. Lately I’ve been praying the Liturgy of the Hours with Universalis rather than with the “American” version I’ve used for years and it’s SO beautiful! Thank you all again! (P.S. This is probably one of maybe three times I’ve ever given a five-star rating for any app ever!) May God bless you as you spread the light of Christ- Mary M

Keeps my focus on prayer. This app has changed my prayer life. I have at my fingertips the width and breadth of the Catholic Church’s liturgy, readings, Divine Office and more. It’s easy to use (once you understand how the menu works) and is filled with golden nuggets of surprises that enhance worship and knowledge - weekly podcast, readings from Church Fathers, the option to have prayers read aloud and more. I wholeheartedly recommend this app for those who what to deepen their relationship with Holy Scripture, the Church, and our Lord.

Good value, easy to use. I’ve used the Universalis app for about four years. For travel, it’s easier than carrying the breviary, but the best thing is that all the Liturgy of the Hours and readings for Mass are easy to access. I also appreciate “About Today,” with its sketches of the saints of the day. Heavy on British ones, but after all, I believe this app originated in the UK. I can also check the calendar to verify which week of the psalter we’re in when it’s my turn to plan our convent liturgies. Well worth the cost, roughly a dollar US per month. Update, two years later. Still like to his app for all the reasons cited above. Still a good value. Update Advent 2025: cost has increased over the years, but still a good value for all the reasons I’ve already mentioned.

I CAN’T BELIEVE ONE WOULD GIVE LESS 5. I can’t believe one would give it less that 5 stars. When I give reviews I make sure that I’m being very honest because I do not want to deceive others and prevent them from getting the true benefits of the product. I’ve used this for over 10 years and shared it with priests. We used it in Jerusalem, Corinth, etc where there’s no internet. The freebie version requires internet. This one, you pay once and you can use anytime. And share it with your spouse or family if you have family sharing cell phones. I recommend it to my prayer community. It’s awesome and useful.

Ease. Because my routine changes frequently, I like that there are audio options for most categories. I can maintain devotions no matter where I am which is wonderful not only spiritually but practically as I am often in locations beyond WiFi and cell phone signal. The audio has human readers. Mostly, though, I just read. There are long versions and short options for many categories. It has been simple to adjust the print size so that I can read and pray without my glasses. My young daughter loves singing Salve Regina at the end of playing the rosary. She loves praying the Angelus, too, partly because of this app. I think it’s because she can hear the voices of children praying with the adults in the audio versions. The app updates regularly and I have not experienced glitches within the app.

Glory be to Jesus Christ. I recommend Universalis for many reasons, but here are three: #1 is the user interface. This app doesn’t feel like an app, it feels like a Roman Missal/volume of the LOTR that you can customize. It has been beautifully made. #2 The in app reminders are great! You can have reminders set to notify you for daily recitation of the Angelus, Mass Reading, LOTR, and more. One of my favorite features is that every hour on the hour (from 6-6) I get a verse that come up on my phone. It really helps me to pray throughout my day. Also, the reminder tone is a old church bell! Love it! #3 The remembrance cards, and smartphone calendar integration. Remembrance cards allows you to put information in for someone who has died, helping you to remember their life and pray for them annually. Because the app has a liturgical calendar built-in that will sync with the calendar on your phone, you don’t even have to go to the app to see feasts and solemnities, and the remembrance cards will be on your regular schedule.

Great app with the liturgical resources of the Holy Church all collected in one app.. Years before Universalis was developed, it was very difficult to find all these resources. They existed, but needed to be searched for on the Internet, bookmarked, and constantly checked to see if they had changed or even had disappeared from the Internet. With the rise of smart phones and other devices like tablets, universal could now put that all together for us and is at this point confident assistant to the liturgical life of the Catholic Church. I would never be without it at this point. It has had its glitches, especially around the iOS 8 update, but that seems to have been solved and we’ve never had that problem since. I highly recommend this app.

Beautiful, easy-to-use app. Universalis is bar none the best app in which to pray the Liturgy of the Hours. It is beautifully customizable- font size, background color, and choice of language, or even a parallel language (a great way to learn your prayers in Latin, French, and others). The display is gorgeous; the interface is a graceful delight to use. I appreciate too the option of reading from the Jérusalem Bible. There are options also to have the prayers read aloud, and Compline ends the day with beautiful chant, if you wish. I

Universalis. I submit to you, what is the purpose of this short human life set before us? From the Balt. catechism and from the New Catechism: (Paraphrasing) “to know God, love God, and serve God with all your heart: for His Glory.” That is not reasonably possible without falling into the trap of worshiping and praying to the god of one’s own imagination unless one possesses genuine knowledge of The Word. Universalis, read to me every morning, permits me a path to knowing the true God of the universe, the mystery of the incarnation and His passion, while safeguarding me from idiosyncratic meanderings and terminal confusions.

Universalis provides a superior English breviary. Those who regret the American adoption of colloquial language in prayer will delight that there is now an inexpensive alternative online. Universalis provides a reverent usage of English for those who demand intelligence gent worship and prayer. All of this is provided not in a 4-volume bookset, but at a nominal cost. Universalis is an ongoing service that provides ongoing current information for subscribers. I, for one, am deeply grateful to our English brethren for this distinctive alternative!

My daily companion. Universalis has been my daily companion for years. There have been times when I have drifted away but it always is there - in patiently awaiting my rediscovery. It is a place of peace in a busy, chaotic and sometimes frightening day. With it I can quietly get close to God knowing that millions of other people around the world are offering the same prayers to Our Lord at the same time. It brings me peace and closeness to my Creator.

Highly useful. As a priest of 25 years, I’ve tried many apps to use, especially while traveling. This one, by far, is the best that I’ve discovered. I’ve been using this app for all my daily prayers, including the Divine Office, and find it inspiring and easy to use. I love all the options, the translations, and the extra information on the saints. It’s especially easy to use when I celebrate mass and don’t have access to an English Missal. I recommend it to all of my priest friends, and to the laity who ask me for direction on daily prayer.

Amazing app.. I love the Universalis app. It’s like having a breviary in your pocket! It’s very convenient as you can read the liturgy of the hours anywhere you are. It’s perfect for me because I am visually impaired, and as a result, it’s hard for me to read a traditional breviary, but I have no trouble reading with the Universalis app since I can adjust the font size. I would not be able to pray the liturgy of the hours without this app. I am so thankful that I downloaded this app. It’s worth every penny. It has helped my prayer life and faith life tremendously. Thank you to the developers, and may God bless you all.

An excellent ministry. As clergy, one of our commitments is to pray the office. This application provides us with the text and audio, in English and in Latin (the Latin voice for some of the hours), such that I can close my eyes transport myself, along with the brethren praying all around the world, into a mystical union. It’s absolutely beautiful rendition with a clear voice that is peaceful, well paced and understandable. Note that the English version is a bit different than used in the USA, the Latin is provided which is purely consistent the world over. God’s Blessings!!!

Excellent! No, really!. This App is well worth it. A bargain! It’s fair to say that, discovering this app changed my life because it made accessible to me the Prayer of the Church, the Divine Office, the Liturgy of the Hours, Praying the Psalms, these Holy Poems and Canticles. I was never going to get the flipping around in a book, setting ribbons etc. I’m too distracted for that (ADHD!). I choose the dark format and page flipping, but you can have a white background and scrolling. Reciting these Holy Songs out loud makes me aware that all my sentiments, emotions, lamentations, grievances, works, joys and sorrows have a place in the life of prayer, and in the Church, as long as they are given context through the ancients who pleased God. They make accessible to me ALL of God’s emotions too, and help me understand Christ and the history of God’s relationship with man.

Love this app. Makes praying the Liturgy doable. This app makes praying the Liturgy of the Hours very easy. I am very pleased with this app. I’ve been using it for for a few years now. I have the 4 book set and also Christian prayer but I find myself using the app over the books (and I love books!). I like that I can easily copy verses that move me so I can sen them to my loved ones. I really like the ability to see the Readings for the Mass each day and also the anniversary cards are a great bonus feature.

The developers are very responsive. The app is always getting improvements and I really appreciate that. One more request: when the prayers are being read, have the Watch app open the now playing app so that the volume etc. can be controlled. Right now the Watch app opens Universalis to the scripture readings of the day which is not at all useful since you are praying the hours.

My first choice. Universalis is my first choice for praying the Liturgy of the Hours. It is maintained with excellence. I am grateful for being able to access the Carmelite Calendar, among others. I also love the Remembrance Cards the will bring up your deceased on the anniversary of their death to facilitate praying for them. It is rich with Spiritual reading and biographies of the saints. It is worth every penny for the audio.

Lexio. My wife and I begin many days with morning prayer and lexio divina. Through the Holy Spirit they guide our morning reflections which prompt our daily intentions. Grateful for the ease with which this app blends scripture and letters of the saints for our prayer life. We likely would not do the same with a book version of the liturgy of the hours. This technology is a bright spot in these troubling times. Pray for humanity. Pray for families everywhere.

Lectio Divina, Mass Readings, Compline…. This has been the best app I’ve ever used for my prayer life. I’ve tried Hallow, but this app is much better to my liking. I also use it for mass readings during the week because misalletes usually don’t contain the full reading during the week day. The only issue I have is that I tried canceling the Mass Readings app that is also distributed by Universalis. Unfortunately they won’t let me cancel the Mass Readings app without also cancelling the Mass Readings function on my Universalis app. Now I’m getting charged for both apps. Hopefully somebody form customer service can contact me to help me get this resolved.

Who would have thought…. Although definitely not the same as praying with the community it does the job in light of its portability. I’ve been using Universalis for a number of years. It’s been a great help in keeping me focused on taking a few moments during the day to stop and reflect. This app is especially helpful in that I can take it with me anywhere. There are those times where carrying a book around is impossible

Thank you. Universalis a wonderful app for today that we can carry with us where we go on our phone and pray the office during the day. It is both inspirational and educational.. Sometimes there is a problem though when I stop a reading and then try to continue it then goes back to the beginning of the office. I wish they could fix that glitch.. but I am very grateful for this app.

The Way. Time and time again our Church talks about the importance of prayer; about creating and nurturing our relationship with our Heavenly Father through prayer and works. This form of prayer, the Liturgy of Hours and Mass, leads us to Love, Faith and Hope. Universalis provides us with “The Way” to Jesus Christ, our Blessed Mother Mary and educates us with history of salvation. So happy to have and use this in my life.

Great addition to prayer life for laypersons. If you already have a prayer schedule and realized you can pray a bit more every day, this is a great addition. I set my alarm for 9 am, 12, 3, and 6 pm (the first and last prayer is upon waking and before bed) as a reminder and if I’m not busy, which is most of the time, I breeze through that hours prayer. I always wanted to memorize the Magnificat and after a few months, I did. The book form looks daunting compared to this medium but I’m getting one anyway as a backup now that I know the order of prayers. The audio portion each week is probably the best part of this app.

Fantastic Daily Prayer app. For anyone interested in praying the Catholic daily prayer in the “Liturgy of the Hours” format, this app is a fantastic way to do it. No longer do you need to learn the logistics of manipulating a breviary in order to pray the Hours properly, because this app lays them out with the daily propers and specifics in one readable format for each day. It’s a fantastic resource.

Daily prayer. I love the app. I can read the gospel reading of the day even though I can’t get to most week day masses because of work. The notification bell lets me know what prayer to pray at the right time. As a busy family man it helps me to put God at the front of my mind even when I’m busy.

Hymns and Canticle. Basically it’s very good. But the words of some of the English hymns are utterly archaic and florid , stemming I presume from the 17-18th century. Also, at the very hint of a feast, there’s a default to the morning prayer for Sunday of week 1, with its tediously repetitious canticle of the three young men in the fiery furnace. Please spare us this as often as possible. Thanks, Brendan Byrne, SJ (Australia).

Great value in many ways. One of the best apps I’ve come across: well designed, super easy to use and very comprehensive. Saves having the Brevery at hand or a missal in church. Great value at only one reasonable charge. Wouldn’t be without it.

My Lord is at my side. Universalis is a backup for my Weekly Missal, and is at my side at any time for access to review the Daily Readings and Gospel wherever I travel daily, on my iPhone.

If Your Goal is to be with God in Heaven. Was introduced to the Universalis App by a Dominican priest in 2015. It has become central to my daily prayer life; helping me to better know and love God the Father, the Son & Holy Spirit. Sounds hyperbolic but I genuinely believe Universalis has to be saving souls. It could be the most important purchase of your life. Peter M - Melbourne, Australia

Universalis. Absolute honour and privilege to have Universalis beside me through every day and night. The value goes way beyond the small price tag. If there was a lifetime subscription option I want it. The readers present the readings exceedingly well especially when one considers the volume of material over the course of each year. I recommend Universalis to all my friends and exhort them to it. Having Universalis audio is I my view the ultimate help to increasing the quality of my life through the prayer of faith. It has changed my life beyond what I ever imagined the Divine Office could do. I pray God will allow me to enjoy Universalis audio until my last hour. It is the indispensable tool for every believer in Christendom. I urge you to subscribe without delay. Your life will change for the better from the outset. Thankyou sincerely to those who make this app available and for making it so user friendly. JohnPaul

A good thing. I use Universalis as a substitute for the breviary it has a number of benefits It’s always accurate It has the extra readings in the morning prayer It a good substitute if a book is missing during a public celebration I requested some time ago that it should include the week that we are in: eg week 24 as that makes it easy to work out what psalm week we are in Be good to see that Cheers F

Start your day enlivened by the word of God. This app is quickly becoming a necessity for those in the Catholic Church who follow daily prayer of the church For those who find it difficult to navigate their way around the daily office it is a Godsend Right before you all in one place is the text flowing without need for several ribbons turning back and forth This is the same for mass with the east choice of the Saint or the Ferris or other solemnity available in one touch of a button This app is highly recommended for clergy religious and laity alike!

Comprehensive and easy to use. This is an excellent resource. It has comprehensive content, including the scripture readings for each day’s Mass, information about the saints whose feast day falls on each day, prayers in common use, the daily spiritual readings in the Divine Office (or ‘Hours’), together with the full Divine Office for each ‘hour’ of each day. It is well laid-out and easy to navigate. And it has a beautiful look and feel, making it a pleasure to use. Finally, it is excellent value for money. Highly recommended.

Review. It has everything I need and much much more. I really appreciate the commentaries on the readings. Who is writing them? Well done and that you for this app.

Love of the rosary 💘. Dear Universalis, many thanks for this wonderful app. I have found complete solace and protection through listening to the rosary + angelus, + reading the Bible scripture. There are numerous times when I’ve felt terrified + alone from the psychiatric illness I have been plagued with for some time. Thank you for all of the wonderful Catholic prayers, to Our Lady, and all the Angels + Saints. Praise God! Immanuel!!!! (God is in control)

Gratitude in Rural NSW, Australia. Because we live outside a rural town in the fertile NW Plains, I need to travel a fair amount for various reasons. Just to know I’ve got access to the daily readings on my phone is incredibly re-assuring, not to mention I can dip in to the Office. A special thanks too for the reflections on the Word. They are wonderful. May the Lord continue to bless you. Sincerely Nora Carrigan

Very helpful. Universalis is helpful. It provides The Office, which used to be book markers and moving these, now is all set up in an orderly manner which helps in making it the great prayer it is. Hence 5 stars

Laudate and Universalis apps. I had the free Laudate App for many years before I purchased the Universalis App. I now use both on a daily basis. I was a Marist Brother Junior for 4 years and used to say the Little Office of Mary. Many years ago I purchased the the short vision of the Devine office and well as the Little office of the Blessed Virgin Mary . Using the Apps have made things easier. Bob

Absolutely Awesome. This is my most used app. I can Find no fault in it and there is no need for improvement. This is number 1 for my spiritual journey as a Christian, as a person and as a Catholic.

Absolutely Essential for Catholics. Universali was recommended by my RCIA group and I’ve been using it for years. Its content is massive and informative. You get all the essential content such as daily missals and prayers. The app is also regularly updated so the content is always up-to-date. If I have to make a suggestion, I would say that the UI could use some redesign and polish .

Please check the Gospel reading. The Gospel reading today for 11 June 2024 is Matthew 10:7-13 however your app shows Matthew 5:13-16. Could you please check and correct that you have the correct readings for each day of the year?

Be lost without Universalis!. I’m a deacon and I use this app every day, it is vital for my own faith journey and I can’t recommend it highly enough!! Tony

critic. good apps for our pray and devotion. However, audio has to be subscribed monthly with quite high fee. How can the elderly and those with special needs - low vision and blind using this apps. I was wondering if this apps is “Catholic” or just any other ‘business money” apps.

As a Lector, this is the best GIFT. Definitely worth it. I can now practice readings in advance and check a lot more aside from the readings. I also opted for the add on of voice over to help me understand how to enunciate words. Please continue to develop this and spread this. A lot of people must use this!!!

My constant companion.. Every day on my way to work I use the app for my Morning Prayer. I also often use it for Evening Prayer on my way home. And when I travel and don’t have my hard copy of the Breviary with me, I turn to Universalis. It is a wonderful grace to be united in the Liturgy of the Hours, Lectio and the readings for the Mass of the day with so many other fellow seekers around the world. Ora pro me.

Great source for mass. Easy to use. Easy to source and you can always carry God’s word with you on your phone. Well done.

Universalis. Universalis has made praying the Office accessible. Previously I couldn’t work out the book. I also read the mass readings every day along with the commentaries. So many options for prayer right at my fingertips - Truly a blessing for busy Christians in modern times!

Extremely helpful. The ordinary printed Breviary is expensive. It needs to be carried around with you always. It means turning many pages and much searching at times. Whereas the digital Breviary can be downloaded onto your iPhone. It is set to always change when necessary. You can go forwards or backwards with ease. You can set it to the various different dioceses and countries. You can also set the most readable font size. There are so many possibilities…..and all for a reasonable small price.

The absolutely best app!. I’ve been using Universalis for years. I love it and it keeps getting better. I use it every day. In recent years my husband has developed dementia. The spoken version adds a whole new dimension for us. We now pray spoken morning prayer together and he uses it to pray the Rosary most days. I couldn’t be without it.

Pray with ease. The standard electronic version of the Divine Office. Easy to use app and when you contact the creators, they reply to you!

Always with me. Not being able to spell somethings are difficult to do my reading has improved but am very slow however I now have the spoken word is on my phone is with me all the time have totally lost hearing in left ear and right is very poor however my hearing aid has Bluetooth and by wearing a device around my neck it picks up beautifully and is clear as crystal I pray seven times a day now and receive Amen readings so blessed to have Universalis thank you may God bless you all

Top Tier App. This app really surprised me in how great it was. It’s so snappy and fast to navigate around and the best thing is that it’s so easily customizable in so many different ways. There is no better liturgy of the hours app that I’ve used

Great Prayer Resource. This is a fantastic resource for those who pray the Divine Office. Everything is easily set out without having to flip and search. It also has readings for Masses as well as many other resources to assist with prayer. Invaluable and so much cheaper than buying missals.

Universalis. This web site a wonderful resource with a great depth of interest information and inspiring texts. It is easy to use.

Right praise. I have found Universalis a wonderful help in giving God right praise. It gives me a great structure on which to build my prayer life. It unites me with so many around the world praying to God. Thank you Universalis

The Best in the Game. It just works and works well. Well worth the money. This is one of the few examples of an app that actually serves humanity not just trying to make a buck. Highly recommend!

Wonderful App. This is a wonderful app that I use everyday. Easy to navigate, reliable and accurate. 👍

Essential. This is a great app. The developers are always looking at adding things. I’ve tried similar apps but this one, hands down is the best. I use this app at least twice a day, as do all of my friends and family. This has become essential to my day and my ministries. This is up there with the most used apps I own and use. Thank you, thank you.

Best electronic breviary on the market. Universalis is getting better and better with every update, and it's worth more than the asking price. I have taken out an annual subscription for features I don’t even use, just so I can support the developers. The basic app’s multi-language support, multi-calendar support, copyrighted translations, and its highly personalized lives of the saints (especially the English martyrs) are stand outs.

Feature request. Simply, this is an awesome app to pray the Liturgy of the Hours. I have a couple of feature requests for future updates: the app icon itself needs a dark mode appearance; in the Hours dropdown menu, the hours are a mix of their Latin or English titles ie. Morning Prayer (Lauds) but Vespers (Evening Prayer); perhaps these can be standardised. Thank you for this app!

My prayer got interrupted by a notification asking for a review!!!. I loved using this app… until I started reciting Morning Prayer and then got interrupted by a “Rate us” notification! If you must ask for reviews, at least design a landing page

Universalis App is truly universal. This is a wonderful App for anyone wanting to have Prayer of the Church, Mass texts and basic Catholic prayers available for every day and for all parts of the Anglophone world - plus more. It also offers - for a subscription fee - a spoken version. Size of text can be easily increased or decreased Extra features are gradually being added. It is a brilliant App

Outstanding Resource. I have been using this App for years and it is a delight to use. It cuts down on having to carry a large breviary around. It makes the Office easy for those unfamiliar with what can often be a complicated ritual. I highly recommend it.

Excellent addition to my prayer life. I’ve used this app for years. I can set it to my diocese in Australia and access the daily mass readings, do my spiritual reading, ready about that days saints feast days and even the liturgy of the hours. If you pay extra, you can get it all read to you. I do this so I can listen on my daily walks or commute. I love this app.

Appreciate accent marks option. This is a very impressive app. Something I recently became aware of is the option to show the accent marks that appear in the Singing Version of the Grail psalms. It means the psalms can be the same as they appear in the Divine Office, which Is a great help for me in singing them.

Helpful and reverent. I love it! Great content, easy to use and beautifully presented. The familiar breviary and Missal layout is wonderful. Exactly what I was looking for. Thank you!

Universalis. I do enjoy this app so much and I use it everyday and have done for the last ten years. Keep up the good work. Monica

Good but do t like what has been done to the Office. Not their fault but take Psalm 109 for example :who gives who the right to censor the word of God? “Their heads shall be shattered far and wide” That’s one example Not all the psalms are complete.

Invaluable app for beginners or experts. An absolutely fantastic app when it comes to cultivating a routine in prayer life (which is probably the most important factor of even starting to have a deep prayer life). Invaluable, I wish it was recommended more to laity. It is eminently more suitable for this than the actual books of the liturgy of the hours for the normal person because it can be done anywhere at any time, without the need to flip back and forth either.

Daily peace. Couldn’t start and end my day without it. Absolute must for anyone seeking peace every day of the year

Excellent value for daily dedicated prayer routine thank you. Excellent value, thank you to the developers, for my daily dedicated prayer routine. Excellent for Catholics and any person looking to develop a good valued prayer life and spiritual life, routine around their busy daily work life or just on my day off at home. I was in the seminary for a while. I find I am still able to continue with a regular prayer routine around my day. Having the hours simultaneously on the audio tracks is an excellent tool for me. The audio tracks are so excellent, as I am able to regularly listen to the tracks playing on my way to work. Or even quick quiet moments on my work breaks. Very Helpful for Relaxing and calming down in a short meditational moment, on my morning commute to work. Reflecting the last psalm phrases or even re- listen to those words, in those often moments that I’m tempted to become annoyed or frustrated with challenges like traffic jams, lights and railway crossing hold ups. I find I can use these moments to ponder or even re listen to, and see it as a moment for prayer and focus on the lord, time to practice my patience, and trust in Jesus, as I am going about my daily challenges. I can even listen to the angelus or rosaries or mass readings of the day. Has changed my life and I’m more focused on the Lord and Mary’s requests for regular prayers, from her appearances at Medjugorje.

Wonderful resource!. So easy to use and complete. It makes the whole experience portable and the new inclusions where some of the psalms are chanted are very beautiful to listen to.

One disappointment. I love using Universalis , however I really cannot use the exclusive language which occurs at times in the final prayers of intercession. Please include sisters with brothers, and daughters with sons.

Universalis 10yr + Impression. I have been using this app for a long time, following a recommendation of the then local Vicar General, and have found it very accessible, easy to use, informative and interesting. I have not used its podcasts much but have found them interesting too when I listened. Apart from replacing a Missal at Mass, I have found it a ‘horizon-expanding’ adjunct to faith MPB, Australia

Universalis. With my Liturgy of the Hours prayer book this Universalis is a helpful guide to me when there are special feast days and just to follow along with the book. I don’t know what I would do without it.

Great Bible App. This app has all the bells and whistles, literally. All the daily readings you need, all the saint days, Catholic Art resources, audio if you want it. Awesome! Highly recommended!

Lovely apps with a few small quirks. This app is an indispensable part of my routine as a Priest. The only fault I can find is that within the order of Mass not all the rubrics are there. I also dislike being charged more to have audio when I’ve already paid a lot just to have full use of the application. I find it odd that there is not the option to choose Fransiscan as an option for religious order.

Best App Ever. It's been several years now that I have this app. It's amazing. This is my favourite of all apps I have. It even has the reflection verses for each Rosary bead, and even some books included you can schedule to read little bits at regular intervals along with the Divine Office. I also use this as a planner for liturgical music at Mass. i can't recommend this enough.

Best app. Easy to use and very comprehensive

Great app!!. I use it all the time. All that's missing would be the responsorial psalm for the mass and the antiphon for each of the prayer psalms in the divine office and it would be set.

Very Incomplete albeit Helpful. For Canadians it is helpful but incomplete: various Eucharistic prayers variants IV and V are missing and our readings based on the NSRV-CE also missing. Considering the price of this app this is barely acceptable.

4 out of 5. Hope this version fixes the 'go to' star on the bottom of the calander. If you accidentally hit a month on the right side of the calendar the star on the bottom is supposed to bring you back to today's date, but it hasn't worked in the last few versions (it used to work) other than that its great although I don't know which bible version they are using at Mass because the wording is not the same and sometimes completely different. New American orJerusalem, must be another.

Thanks be to God for this app. It's the reason I wanted an iPhone. No, not kidding. The finest Divine Office, ibreviary app there is, not reliant on an Internet connection and fully searchable - go to any day of any year any time. Not biased to one country's calendar; select your country for more specific readings.

App won't update on iPad. Great app! It is used daily but the latest update March 15, 2016...won't update...the updating process for this app only, stalls after showing a complete download icon (blue circle around pause button). Please fix

Thank you. This app is just what I needed. A voice that is clear and pleasant to listen to.

Was once faithful to the Magisterium but no longer. In today’s commentary on the Gospel, I came across this little gem: “To fail to appreciate the other great religions of the world is an act not of homage to the Christian God but of failure to appreciate the divine omniscience and omnipotence.” There is only one true religion in the world and all others are in opposition to it. If we allow them even one foothold in the battle that Christ has called us to engage in, then we have lost the entire war and will be responsible for the loss of countless millions of souls. I for one have decided that Universalis no longer teaches orthodoxy and will therefore go elsewhere for my Divine Office.

Thanks. Thanks

Excellent. A lot of content, worth every penny. No crashed, text sizing and position sensing work well.

Does what it says and does it well.... However..... $33 is insane for this app! I think this is one of the most expensive app on iTunes.

Wonderful application ... presentation needs work. This application is great, and really I would give it 5 stars if not for the terrible implementation of the page-turning animation. Please, your application needs to look like it belongs on an iPad. Look at the animations in Calendar and iBooks. It actually looks like you are turning a page there, and not some pseudo-3D hinge effect. That said, the application makes praying the Liturgy of the Hours very simple. No need to fumble with a breviary, the liturgical calendar is at your fingertips, as is a great amount of information concerning the saints. Likewise, the new English translation of the order of Mass is very helpful. Overall, a good app ... just fix that page turning and it would be beautiful.

My AM GO To. Thanks for all daytime options, lectio, the hours, the weekly “look ahead” but especially the Mass Readings with commentaries by Hugh Wansbrough OSB. I find myself saying “never thought of this before” after a read of the HW commentary. Paul H Canada

Almost perfect. I have tried several missal apps and finally the translation is word for word even the psalms in this app but it really depends where you live. I live in the Caribbean. However, the negative is that the font size is way too small and there is no ability to change the size.

Need Psalms added. This is a great application. I would give it 5 stars if the Psalms for the daily Readings at Mass were added. That way the application would be completely self contained.

Great app to keep up with daily readings.. Like the app, and I haven't used it much since I get daily emails. But one thing I find annoying is the inability to open the settings page with any sort of ease and not being able to scroll between pages, because the page flip just doesn't cut it, feels too unnatural.

Beautiful app. What a blessing this app is. So good, try it.

Useful and needed. I have used Universalis services for a number of years on different formats and I am glad that the company has made them available for the iPhone/iTouch platform. This is a program for those who need it and we will gratefully pay what is demanded. Just for the record, the printed format expands through a set of five books, $40 each in most editorials. You calculate. I have used it for the past two weeks and I am not disappointed. I had no crashes even though I found browsing through long text a bit slow. Today I downloaded a new update that seems to address this and other minor glitches that are typical of v. 1.00. I haven't tested yet. I respect the individuals who wrote some of the negative (no technical) reviews, but not their opinions. Because they write from the ignorance of someone who does not know what this program does for those of us who need it. There's no place in iTunes' reviews for such misleading rigidity. Kudos for Universalis. I look forward for future updates and revisions.

Beautiful addition to my prayer life. Changing a widget doesn’t always make an app better. A selection of widgets in this case is preferable.

Amazing during the pandemic. Thank you for making this app. It is so helpful as I try to pray and live a liturgical life during these times when churches are still closed here in Ontario, Canada. God bless you.

Superb app .... In every respect. But it doesn’t look like the new feature regarding the Today screen showing the Saint of the day works.

Love this App. I use it frequently and really appreciate it- simple and intuitive- no bugs or issues- a blessing and a help! Thank you very much!

Needs Work. A useful app for the few who need it but it crashes when you pinch to change the text size. It is necessary to have the pinch, rotate and scroll all working to allow the user to change the text size on the small screen to make it readable. I look forward to a update to get these things working.

Great update. Thank you for adding the spiritual reading section. Regrettably, I often do not have time or the focus to give the second reading the attention it deserves. But having it available separately will help. This is a wonderful app that has enriched my prayer life. God bless.

Prayer Time -. The lit screen is much easier to read than the print in my Liturgy of the Hours book, and I can take it anywhere with me, especially when I travel.

Many Thanks. Thank you for this wonderful app. It is so very easy to use. Truly appreciate you for providing easy mobile access to the Divine Office, Daily and Sunday Mass readings and the many prayers . Was very helpful during my Cancer treatments, now my husband and I use it every time. Joan and Earl Pitre, Third Order OCDS.

Please add liturgical year.. Love you app and options available. Although tempted, I do not open the app during Mass. For Sundays, I have perused the readings at home, but I have trouble in some churches where the books are arranged by liturgical year. Could you add that information (eg, 25th Sunday in ordinary time, year B)?

Daily help. This is so helpful. Whether traveling, rushed mornings or simply feeling inept, this tool makes the daily hours too easy to not do. And the images for the rosary are so beautiful I even open them to contemplate during group rosaries. Thank you for this positive use of technology!

Fully featured app. A couple key differentiators make this my favorite app. Most of all the included spiritual readings, and brief review of the day. I also appreciate how today’s mass is outlined, making it easy to follow for daily mass. This is a wonderful app.

Very good. Provides a great way to pray the Liturgy of the Hours. Mass readings and prayers also available. Some of the prayers are from the British rather than American version. No need to be connected to wifi.

Just Beautiful. This may very well be the most wonderful and beautiful app ever made for the prayer life of believers. I never knew I needed this app until I got it. I downloaded the free trial and purchased it within the hour of using it. Thank you Universalis.

What a Blessing. My husband & I absolutely love to have these readings each morning. It is quite educational for me, a new convert to the Catholic Church. We have hours of enlightening discussions which is founded in the word of God. It’s Intricacy of Providence weaving countless threads into a eternal tapestry of glory. Thank you for these grace filled moments from God. Love the App.

Love Universalis. I have used Universalis for many years, and love it. The format is very easy to use. The extra features (e.g. the books included, the optional meditations, and more) are helpful. I also really like the occasional emails I get with updates and news and such. I love it!

Praying with another. This site has voice option so one may have a person to pray Morning and Evening Prayer with them. It helps one stay focused on the readings and psalms. Highly recommend it for Lay Dominicans who pray the Office daily.

The best thing on my phone. Universalis is so beautiful and innovative. I have an affinity for it and its creator like nothing else on my phone. It brings me closer to God each day. I wish I could pay much more for it.

Thanksgiving. This is what I read as soon as I wake up early in the morning to start my day and before I sleep. This makes me closer to God. I thank God for this Universalis which I learn a lot and still learning.

Universal. I have grown more and more over the years with this app. As my spiritual appetite has increased I have discovered more of what Universalis offers and is able to feed me to draw closer to the Holy Ghost, Jesus and God the Father. Soli Deo Gloria.

My review. Universalis, Pray As You Go, Sacred Space and Living Space, and Discerning Hearts have kept me in line; on line. Universalis, yesterday I learned from ‘you’ that it was St. Benedict’s feast. In me pocket was his medal! Serendipitously, I was afforded Mass. I especially appreciate the style of the narrative. I often pray this site to calm and assure myself. I have to, sometimes. - Patrick RN

Extreme Excellence. I cannot imagine a 100% of the priesthood (owning a smart phone) not having this app. I also could not imagine the laity not using it as well. It has become an integral part of my continuing catholic education. Ten stars. JMJ+

My favorite Divine Office App. I love this one over the other ones because it does not require connection to the internet. I also like the friendly setup.

Comments. I love this app and use it twice daily. I wish you didn’t double number some of the psalms. We never learn the numbers because of the double numbers. Give us the choice of American numbering or English numbering.

Perfect! So helpful and convenient. This has been so helpful to allow me to fit the Divine Liturgy into my busy schedule. Always there, always on the right page. Helps me keep my life in tune with the calendar of saints.

Indispensable. Universalis has been a daily part of my prayer life for a long time now. It is indispensable. Having the Divine Office and many other resources in one app on my iPad is well worth the small subscription cost. Reading Compline before bed helps me get a good night’s sleep, too.

Simple And Effective. Easy way to pray the Liturgy of the Hours throughout the day, as well as learning more about the saint feast days. I like the easy navigation interface, and that you can create a iPhone widget for your Home Screen.

It’s what I read every day…. This gives me the variety of reading the Lord’s words…thank you. I utilize all that is offered. I start my devotions with the Office of Readings, and go throughout the day reading the Liturgy of hours. I love that the rosary is here as well. Thank you for enhancing my closeness with the Lord.

I use it daily. I like that Universalis can be permanently downloaded and not streamed. I also use it on Apple car play while I am driving and have started listening to the podcast. It continues to improve and I use it daily.

Best Liturgy of the Hours App. Wonderful Liturgy of the Hours app with customizable features and easy access for all users. I start and end my day with this beautiful app. Truly an amazing experience for everyone.

Best prayer app.. This is one of my favorite prayer apps. Because now that it’s the season of Lent, I can put this app to good use. Not just during Lent but during Holy Week and Good Friday and during the Easter season and other liturgical seasons. Ordinary time and Advent and Christmas.

Easy to use!. I love this app. It is a bit more portable then my hard copy set of books and no more page flipping means it is a bit easier to stay in the proper mindset while praying.

A Great Blessing. Thank you for Universalis. It has been a great help in my walk with The Lord. What a great time savings to have so much wonderful content so well organized and even narrated for when one cannot sit down, all at the ready. The smartphone and internet are redeemed, at least in part.

Prayerful and useful. I have found this helpful in praying along with the church and preparing for Mass. Moreover, as one who travels a lot, I am able to travel light with Universalis (and not having to carry several volumes of books).

I’m a 2-year daily user. Modernist commentary is offensive to conservative and traditionalist Catholic sensibilities. Otherwise would offer 3 stars. To get 4 stars it would need the option of RSV-CE Bible translation. 5+ stars would be earned if it included the Latin readings and calendar.

Prayers. These are among the very best of prayers currently being heard. I use them every day and sometimes all through the night. They give structure to your days if you live creatively. They also prevent lapses into prayerlessness.

Solid. Great resource for guiding daily prayers- Especially for those who forget their breviary and who always have their cellphone. I love the audio player for daily commutes when I can’t read.

Wonderful Resource. I had been trying to find an app supporting the Liturgy of the Hours and this one is perfect. Not only does it provide the material but it is flexible as far as presentation and usability. My best app purchase.

Almost perfect. I really like the app and all that it offers. You. An adjust it in many ways to fit your taste and schedule. The main issue I have with it is the commentaries at the end of the readings. They are most definitely NOT Traditional. In fact, they’re modernist…… and in a world that needs the Traditional One, True Faith, that is a shame.

Fantastic!. I love this app and I use it every day and recommend it to all my friends!! It is a great help to peopke who have hearing issues bc the Mass readings can b followed while being proclaimed in church!!

Perfect liturgy companion. Love this as a choir director who likes to follow along with the priest during Mass - but also to pray the hours of course. The addition of music is great. One request would be a simple prayers section like the Salve Regina, Tantuum Ergo etc. where we could reference the texts for certain liturgies or ceremonies.

First Prayer Each Day. Beginning my day with Universalis, I feel connected with the universal Church, and there’s no better way to start the day.

Love this app. I love this app. I have learned so much doing the office of readings, and I am learning to appreciate the palms more. As my pray life improves, I feel closer to God. I’m working to place my trust in the Lord completely; my peace is through The Father, Son , Holy Spirit, and our mother Mary

Essential part of the practice of my faith. As a Catholic, and more specifically as a lector, I find Universalis to be an essential part of my daily practice of the faith. From the About Today section through the Litany of the Hours to the daily readings at Mass, Universalis is the basis of my prayer life.

Universalis. My go to app for mass readings as well as many other things. Nice reading explanations accompany the readings. This app has depth that I don’t reach. Having the liturgy of the hours etc is very nice.

In my pocket whereever I go. I use prayer of the church every day, and it’s so handy having the Mass readings in my pocket wherever I am. It was a lifesaver when I went to Mass eight times in different Italian churches in 2019.

Great to have everything in one place. Very well layed out Wonderful to have all the prayers and texts in one place Don’t have to have 7 books to find them

More books please, both free and paid!. This is the only app purchase i have ever been totally satisfied with. It truly has everything.

PERFECT LOTH App!. Been using this app for about a year now and it is absolutely worth the money. I own the one volume and four volume sets, and constantly find myself drawn back to this app. The latest update, which combines the Office of Readings with another office, makes this the PERFECT app for LOTH. Keep improving!

Perfectly designed. This is the most useful app I have found as an aid to praying the Liturgy of the Hours. Easy to use, with a wide variety of options.

Awesome.. Fantastic reading options include ability to change don't sizes, typeface, brightness, and even switch to night mode. Navigation is easy and intuitive. I had to drop this to four stars because it’s sorely missing the NAB texts that we use in the US, making it hard to pray with others that use the physical books or other apps.

A treasure!. I’ve been using this app for years—such a fabulous resource for developing a pattern of daily prayer. I also really appreciate the reflections on the readings and info about saints. Highly recommend!

The best practice when Mass is not available. I really enjoy Lectio Divina late at night when Holy Mass is not accessible. I can pray using my cellphone and meditate on the Gospel reading of the day. It is really convenient.

Excellent resource for Mass and Liturgy of the Hours. I appreciate the access to Mass texts in various languages and the breviary. The app can look forward or backward to any date to check scripture readings of the day. The app makes the missal and breviary portable.

Such a great app!. In addition to the Liturgy of the Hours with its many options for saints, feasts, optional prayers etc., just a great prayer companion and source of information. So many extras - don’t go a day without using several times. Easy to navigate, beautiful artwork, excellent source for daily prayer.

Open Sans. I love this app. It’s so easy to pray the Liturgy of the Hours and read the daily Mass readings. Please add Open Sans to the font selections. Thanks. Also, I would love to see the option for the new, Ecumenical Grail Psalter (inclusive language).
