App is useful but Drive data is off. I’ve been running tests on the AAA Drive data. I spent a week making sure that on all short trips I was extremely careful. I set my cruise to the exact speed limit, pull out very slowly and came to slow complete stops. Every one of these trips it gave a 3 out of 5 for speed. But if I did the same exact speed and even 5 over on a longer trip then I got excellent ratings. I just don’t think the GPS function can handle the short 1-4 mile trips that involve a lot of in town side streets. I also hate being told I brake to fast after having to stop at a yellow on a 50 mph road or someone pulls out in front of me. And for the haters that will say I’m just a bad driver, my score is actually in the mid 80’s almost 10 pts higher than average.

Loving It!. Had problems with the battery. It was 11pm and raining. Used my app to call for help. Took the technical assistance 20 minutes to get to where I was. In less than 30 I had a new battery with one of the best warranty out there and at a reasonable price. The battery had been giving my problems and needed replacement. In less than an hour my car was running and the battery was replaced. This at practically midnight. The App kept me updated as to how far was the technician and how much longer would I need to wait. Which is good for my safety since I would know it was AAA who was actually there. Also loving having easy access to my card and membership number for the discounts I get with it. Got 10% off on a $185 part at NAPA Auto Parts. Great! Love it!

Needs redesign. This app is crap. Don’t bother with it. Save your AAA card to your phone wallet and call when you need help. The Trip Tik is completely frustrating. First, finding it is difficult. Scrolling theough a bunch of ads for trips to take, I found it. Then, even though you may be signed in to the app, you must login again on the Trip Tik page. Why? And when I try to create a trip, if I want to go back a step, hitting close closes the whole thing and I have to start over on the home page for AAA. I can’t tell you how many times I have done this and since I hadn’t saved the trip, I am reentering information over and over. Even when I finally saved a number of trips, some disappeared for no reason. I like technology, but sometimes the tangible, printed versions of things are best. I really want to go back to the old printed flip book. It had everything and when driving, it was easy to use; much easier than the online digital version.

App generally ok, but timer is flawed. The app is generally ok. It provides a space to put your member card so you don’t have to carry it around, links to other services you can buy, and the roadside assistance link. Generally, the request for roadside assistance is easy to use - just a few clicks and help is supposedly on the way. The issue is that the “arrival time” timer isn’t really based on any actual information for your case. It’s an average of all of their service calls. My 20-min wait has turned into a 90-min wait, with phone support stating they don’t really know where the service techs are or when they’ll arrive or if they’re really on their way to me. First time user of this app and the roadside assistance service of AAA. Honestly, my next round I’ll continue using USAA. Their communication (app, text, and phone) are much more rooted in reality and don’t set up false expectations or hopes while you’re stranded on the side of the road. **Edit to update that we’ve now been on the side of the highway for two and a half hours, and the phone tech finally shared that A)They haven’t found a driver yet and B) they’re not sure they can because all of the orgs on their list aren’t affiliated to AAA anymore. So, yeah - the timer in the app is a gimmick. There wasn’t anyone on the way when it started counting down. I’ll give the app five stars for setting false expectations, thou!

AAAWESOME. AAA has been really good to me. This is the third consecutive year I have had triple A. I’ve had a car that has had issues here in the cold in Iowa. There has only been one issue with them that my car sat over night. It must have been some kind of miscommunication because the tow company here was under the impression that their driver was dispatched to me. Thankfully I got a ride home and my car sat overnight in a gas station parking lot. I still give them five stars because I didn’t press them during this communication error. I’m sure if I had called them back they would have made it right. I was tired from driving 15 hours from Georgia to Iowa and was only three minutes away from my destination so I called for another ride and dealt with it the next day and AAA took care of the problem. All in all I will always utilize AAA for as long as I drive. Thanks AAA.

Inaccurate. The app is alright other than the AAADrive Score. It’s so inaccurate and when I emailed about it I got told it was not. Like I can set my car to cruise at the speed limit and I still get pinged for speeding. I also use a hands free device and put my phone in a phone holder for the hold time and get hit for using my mobile when I’m not. I can literally have everything set up, like music and gps, before I even turn on my car and get hit for phone use. Like today on my short route from the store to my house I get a bad rating for mobile use when I didn’t even touch my phone. Fun fact, I have two other things that track me using my phone to help me find cheaper insurance and my Geico app that does not detect me speeding even when I am set at cruise control for the speed limit and they don’t ping me for phone usage since I don’t use my phone while driving. 😤 On top of that my phone goes automatically in Car Focus, a do not disturb mode, the moment my car turns on and it syncs with my cars Bluetooth so something is really mess up with the AAADrive Score part of this app and I don’t like nor agree with the answer I got in my email when three other apps that have the same access as AAADrive Score does not say I am speeding or using my mobile.

Improving but still some issues. The app and content are improving, especially with the addition of tour books. I cannot get the app Feedback to work on my iPhone with latest iOS. The Feedback takes one to a browser window, but then at the window I cannot get the button or whatever the icon is to work. I tried Safari and Chrome browser apps. Here’s what I wanted to give feedback on - the tour book for Puerto Rico seems to have a lot of sightseeing content missing for the city of San Juan. Like it seems to only be a page and things like Old San Juan are not listed. And I don’t seem to see a summery list of Gem attractions for the Caribbean tour book so one can easily see all the Gem attractions for place like Puerto Rico. And while I like the tour book format, I’d still like for tour book data to be made available in a map based search view, so I can search for a place or area and see all the tour book sights for a place like San Juan Puerto Rico. What I seemed to find was a search that gave me lots of Activities, which is great. But I’d also like On the map view, I can filter by Gas, Auto Repair, Dining, Shopping, AAA office locations, but not by tour book sights. And the map view is called “Near Me” and under “Discounts and Rewards.” There should be a “Map Views” under “Travel.” I’m in the Mid-Atlantic club area.

Good but needs some improvements. I like having the drive app to help save money but there’s been a few occasions that I get dinged hard for mobile distraction when I’m not using my phone at all. A few times if because my music connected. Once was from a hands free call (learned from that to never take any calls) and then I got a 67 because I parked in my garage and then answered my phone (after I parked). Also I’ve been knocked to the low 80s before but all my scores are at the top level and no events listed, so if it is going to knock any points I think it should be able to show you why. Overall it’s a good concept and works best on highways. Fatigue is temperamental also but does not take off enough to fuss over. AAA is good so far. I do think the app could be a little more user friendly so you don’t have to log in multiple times or online rather than the app to view your documents, but just some personal statements I feel towards it that should be worked on to enhance that app a bit.

Terrible Customer Service. First, I was very concerned about allowing the app to know my location at all times. Fine, I understand I guess people can move their car if they are in a dangerous spot waiting for assistance. I login and enter in my data after waiting on their phone line for over 30 minutes, THOUGH THE CALL ONLY SAID THERE IS 10 MINUTES OF THE WAITING. So good job triple a, you made me down load the app. Second, the estimated arrival time of help and the request detail is beyond terribly calculated. The app suggested that a technician should arrive by 45 minutes. I sat and waited. It was past 48 minutes I got a call saying that the technicians should be on there way in about 45 more minutes. At least be honest about the estimated time of arrival. Just say it will take 1:30 minutes. This is what happens when monopoly takes place. The top companies will not try at all to satisfy their customers because they have a long history or they are the only go to car assistance service. I am truly disappointed in this app and the company. Who knows when the technicians will arrive now. That last 45 minutes could turn into another 45 minutes.

Terrible Experience. To send a request did not go great, as the request went through on the third try, which should have been an indicator of the bad experience to come. As the request goes through, the eta says that the roadside assistance will come in 2 hours. This was fine, as it was known that it was a relatively busy day and we know that it is not easy to provide service for everyone right away. So, the waiting period starts to go over the eta and after an hour passes since the eta, we start to make phone calls to AAA’s representatives. None of the phone calls were productive whatsoever, especially since we were repeatedly put on hold, and my family member was left there for another two hours. He continued to wait, as the app said that they would be arriving soon, yet there were no improvements made. After no help, false hope, and waiting for five hours, my family member ultimately resorted to a different company. This experience was quite awful and stress inducing. I would not recommend, especially if you are looking for a company to depend on, as this company is not dependable in the slightest. My suggestion is to look for another company before you are stuck out there with no help and frustration.

Ms. Jessica Reid. AAA is the most amazing creation ever done in the service industry I was stranded 4 hrs away in another state and was at my wits end and I was told to apply for AAA I immediately jumped at it and almost instantly I was relieved. From the agents to the tow truck operator was so professional and pleasant. everybody in whichever industry should take a page out of your book, they’ll learn a thing or two about professionalism and customer service, infact if you were to look back I posted a review on your website and personally called the lady agent and expressed my absolute satisfaction. Remember the Kia soul that broke down in Philadelphia and it was towed to Bristol that was me, O and I couldn’t retrieve the vehicle until a week later and they kept it on their compound at no additional cost. Some other unscrupulously company would have killed me with storage fees. I have used AAA at least 3 times since then and as usual the service was outstanding.

Results are ridiculous.. If I get to a traffic light and the light turns green, I am dinged because I use my accelerator to pull away from the light. If I drive along a road and see an accident in the middle of the road and ease around it, I get dinged for not being alert and adjusting my speed and drive direction irresponsibly. We have a mile long dead straight road near us along side corn fields. It has a 40 mph speed limit. If I drive behind a cop car at 48 mph I get dinged. I readily admit that this road is dangerous at night due to dear crossings. Then too everyone sticks to 40 mph when they see the cop at the top of the hill trying to make up their revenue shortfall for the month. My car has safety features that automatically shuts off all iPhone technology except for hands free telephone calls. And yes, you guessed it, I get dinged for using my phone for texting or answering emails, something that is near impossible to do, but AAADrive dings me for doing this even if I never do it. Bottom line, this is a very immature app that needs lots of work to record valid and sensible results.

Not the AAA of old, customer service is terrible!. I used to rely on AAA for my automotive needs. They were usually very responsive and customer service was always on point. Not anymore! I have the platinum service (the most expensive) and my car needed a tow out of my driveway to a repair shop 4 miles away. I arranged the tow via the app at 8am and by 3 pm I had used my insurance towing services bc AAA never showed up! Every estimate that a tow would arrive was wrong and then when I called, the calls repeatedly dropped! There wasn’t a follow up from them at all and when I complained about the crappy service, AAA response was to send me a letter telling me that they weren’t going to renew my membership. I called for the reason and was explicitly told that there wasn’t a reason! Again, this isn’t the AAA that my grandparents and parents used to have. Be weary if you need them bc customer service and responsive management is a thing of the past with them. I hope a decision maker reads this and makes some changes.

Stalk much?. The app uses location services to, among other things, tell you you’re driving by another Hampton Inn or Pearls Vision and you can get a discount there through AAA. It’s great if you’re driving around looking to randomly get hotel rooms or prescription glasses. So, then just turn location services to “Only while using the app” and problem solved, right??? Well, I’ve never seen an app so determined to track my every move every day. Every time I open the app I get this message that says I should turn on location services on to use the app, with a link to the phone settings saying to turn location services to always. Open the app, try to find a repair facility and get directions? Here’s your admonishment that the app won’t work unless you set location services to always. Wanna turn the notification off? Sorry, you can only ask to be reminded again later or go to settings. It’s annoying and really shows how desperate they are to gather sell data points on their membership. It’s unnecessary, I can use the app just fine with location services enabled while using the app only. I’m reconsidering deleting the app, which is the opposite of what they want. Im pretty sure using their services and discounts is a bigger revenue generator than membership dues

Was going to cancel membership but .... The worst part about calling in for AAA was the wait times on the phone. I have spent 20 minutes waiting to talk to a human, only to be transferred to a club in a different state with another 15 minute wait. Along comes the mobile App. Punch in the relevant information, then you are queued up for service. I seriously was going to cancel my membership, but this App saved it. If you are frustrated with the absolutely terrible voice recognition service, the long phone wait times, the illogical order they ask questions, which adds to the wait time and frustration, try the AAA app. You still have to wait sometimes hours for service, but the App is a step in the right direction.

This app is pure garbage in a moment of need. Here I am stranded trying to get roadside assistance and this app is worthless! Everything about it is a struggle even though it looks slick. This app seems to be more of a bombardment of sales attempts instead of a help summoning app. From the very start I cannot tell whether I am logged in or not. Then as I wander around trying ascertain that, I keep getting an error message when I try to summon roadside assistance and the app tries to load my member info unsuccessfully after multiple attempts. The navigation features or too limited for the phone app, I cannot access my member information button in order to verify my account info either. I am struggling way too much just to see my account information. The roadside assistance feature won’t launch even though I have full cell phone signal in the city. After having to call for roadside assistance instead of using the app, I then cannot check on the status of the roadside assistance being summoned. Update this app with user input AAA! and fix this garbage app so that it works when we need it while we are on stress overload with vehicle problems worrying about our car not about an app that won’t function! While we have car problems is not the time to try to ask to sell products. The last thing on my mind is your incessant offers for home security, insurance or travel!

Differences between phones. My husband & I use the AAA Drive app because the higher our score the bigger discount we get on our car insurance premium. However, it seems that my iPhone5S records a lower score for the same trip in the same car at the same time than my husband’s iPhone5S. The phones were right next to each other in the same position. On one trip, my phone started recording 2 minutes later than his phone. In addition, it does not seem right that I always get “dinged” on “steady driving” when I drive in Madison, even when my Prius ‘score’ is high regarding acceleration, stopping, cruising. Starting & stopping is what city driving is. It is necessary to stop for stop signs/lights & to start again when it’s my turn or the light changes. I’d like to know what the algorithm is to calculate the composite score. Is it multiplied by the number of miles? So longer trips = more steady driving weighs more than the shorter trips with lower steady driving scores?

Waiting for a tow truck. My truck broke down about 130 and left work because I was feeling ill driving down got about 5 miles from my house truck broke down believe it’s the alternator call AAA first time I had to use it probably last time it’s been four hours and I’m still sitting in a parking lot waiting for a tow truck called them on the phone they said the truck would be here in 13 minutes then somebody called me and asked me if I was still sitting in the parking lot I said yes and they hung up I called him back And they said they had no idea want to truck would come so personally I don’t see me or anybody I know ever using AAA At 6:10 AM somebody finally game and picked up my truck the driver that picked up the truck with her it’s a personal very nice gentleman but I will never ever use your service again please do not touch my accounts anymore to take money out to pay for this service don’t know that you realize that I get paid very big money for my hours of work and I only came home because I was sick because of the situation I was out for two days

Terrible for insurance. I have had this app and used it to report an accident I had at midnight. Not only did I have problems getting into the app - no matter how many times I entered it, it would not remember my password. Then, it took ages for me to get proof of insurance to come up. The app seems to be mostly for the roadside assistance and keeps defaulting back to that instead of the insurance part. I had to click on and wait for the documents repeatedly to no avail- which is not what an officer is wanting to hear. So much for having them at my fingertips - I now print out a hard copy for my glovebox. This is app asks you to file the claim online (through the app) but took literally DAYS for anyone to call me about the claim to tell me what needed to be done. They told me that I should’ve called instead of filing on the app because the app way take longer?! No idea how well this works for roadside assistance but I definitely wouldn’t get it for the insurance. Not to mention that the insurance has terrible customer service so don’t waste your money. I spent more time following up than my adjuster did working my case.

Two cancelled tows because of app. The app doesn’t always share important information with the AAA system. We were stuck in the middle of a busy road and the app didn’t communicate that it was a dangerous situation, despite inputting that info in the system. This resulted in multiple delays. After waiting for an hour and a half and speaking with three customer service reps, the cops had to tow us. It also didn’t share my fiancés phone number with the tow driver on a prior visit, despite requiring his number to open the ticket. This resulted in an 8 hour wait and the last the tow driver almost leaving because he couldn’t get ahold of us. All of the AAA reps we’ve spoken to have said that there’s an issue with the app not sharing information but it doesn’t sound like there are any plans to fix the issue. Instead, we’re stuck with a bill for third party towing and have wasted days of frustration trying to use a service that we’re paying for. Ridiculous.

Keys locked in car. So I came to south hill va for my class reunion and on Saturday evening some how my key did not register and locked in my car well called AAA to have someone come guess what no one ever came at all bc there is only one man here and I never got help I am still waiting for help bc I have to go back to NC but he sd he might not get to me until 4:30 we’ll I have to sleep I am so upset that AAA u guys have no one here to even unlock my car. Suppose I had a battery problem this is not good at all I am really ready to report to BBB bc this man is in va beach back and forth but not here in south hill this is ridiculous that I am still waiting from 6:45 to now at 12:30 and still waiting omg this is just crazy I am out of money and an entire trip. Reporting this to BBB. In addition my friends who won gifts now have to wait for the items to be sent to them. I mean 6:45pm to 5:30am for a job of 10 minutes. Nice guy but just help for me. I mean I lost time and money from my reunion. I am still upset could not enjoy my reunion bc I was told 9:45pm I can’t complain enough about this experience after all my years never had such a bad experience as this.

Very much a shock. Having been an AAA member for many years I have to say that the service has gone far downhill over the last couple of years. They used to be completely reliable. Great peace of mind with membership. Not anymore. I actually experienced a no show last year. They also declined to provide a tow because they said it had already been towed once for the accident. That was true, but it had been towed to a wrecking yard rather than a repair shop. It was an hour away from me and left me in a bind. Now I have received a notice of non renewal due to a disproportionate number of service calls. We had the plus membership. And yes, it was a rough year for car troubles. We did use all of our services. But we had no warning whatsoever that this would put us in jeopardy. To make matters even worse, it’s a lifetime ban which also applies to my son since he was on the membership. That’s a pretty harsh blow for loyal members like ourselves. I would have understood if they wanted to raise the cost of membership. But this is over the top.

App is behind the times!!! Only point A to B!!!. Note: Review is on the app not local AAA office. I thought the AAA app would have been a leader in automotive travel and trip planning. I couldn’t build a complete trip with multiple stops. It would only do point A to B trips. I went to local AAA office and “travel agent” said that the app would not do multiple stops. She was aware of many of the app weaknesses. Frustrated, I finally used Trip Advisor, Google Maps and my Calendar App to complete my trip planning on my iPhone. All of this should be on the AAA app and easy to use! The app should provide a full itinerary with every stop, dates, hotel reservations, site seeing stops etc. It should also tie into your calendar app and include hotel confirmations, reservations etc. I also think it should have a driving tour guide option on popular scenic or historical places that would blue tooth with your car and give informative information as you drive or when you stop, hike etc. Summary: The app is useless and I will definitely review to determine if there are any other benefits to AAA membership.

Not accurate. I think this app has a great concept and I’d really like too say how great this app is but that definitely isn’t the case my issue is that on the driving part where you can see your scores for each individual aspect is very inaccurate for example the mobile distraction I put my phone in do not disturb mode and disconnect from Bluetooth and put my phone in the center console of my car do not use my phone while I’m driving at all and I got a 46 on mobile distraction, how’s that even possible? I also am getting docked points for stopping at stoplights and stop signs as well as speed when I set cruise control at the exact speed limit. I have contacted customer service 3 times about the same issues and am told my scores are for self improvement only and that they have no effect on a discount. If that were the case what’s the point of even having the AAA app. I feel that this app could be great but customer service needs too listen to feedback and fix the issues people are having.

Our driver was exceptionally patient with us. Best customer service during a pandemic. Boy... if I say when it rains, it pours... that saying really means it. “When it rains, it pours!” Not only did my car need a tow from inside my enclosed community garage... the darn garage door didn’t want to open anymore. Needless to say, the driver & my vehicle in tow, was stuck inside the garage. This poor driver waited patiently while he waited for me to obtain the garage door release key from a locked room on the other end of the building, then obtain a large A-frame ladder from a separate room down the hall, then return with both items in hand to open the large heavy garage door with my spouse. Finally he was able to get out of the garage and take my vehicle literally down the same block to the repair shop. What an adventure. Thank you for all your help!!

Good peeps. Unfortunately, I’ve had to use the tows cuz I was screwed over on a car I bought (shocker, right?). The tow truck drivers were both very kind and helpful. Then, at the AAA shop (Thomas/36th St), both Scott and Keith were very kind and patient. They made sure I knew what I was paying for and gave me a discount for the awful start I’d had to the new year. They both patiently listened to my sobbing lunacy as I got the worst case scenario (car edition) handed to me. Keith lovingly explained why flex seal, duct tape and some new hoses were not only NOT as good as a new engine, but why it was dangerous. He told me that I didn’t have to make any decisions about the car right then, or even that day, and that I could take a day to figure things out and not have to worry about getting the car towed again right then, and it was safe. So I took his advice, and a nap, and another one, and then got my head together and got a game plan. I called them the next day (this morning), and Scott knew who I was by the sound of my voice and I could immediately hear the, “I’m so sorry you’re going through this” in his voice. Although they couldn’t fix the fact that I was out of a car AND $3800, they did help just by being decent and kind.

Worst App Service EVER!!!. If I could give no stars I would! I downloaded the app today because my truck stopped on the side of a an extremely busy street. I was told by the automatic messaging system “for faster service, download the app”. I downloaded the app at approximately 10 A.M. this morning. An hour later I called to check the status only to find out that my service request was mysteriously canceled. The customer service rep added my request back in but of course I fell further back. It’s now 3 P.M. and I am being told that they will be here at 3:40 P.M. My original time was 11:52. I expect better! Westland Car Care has continued to push the time back. I understand it’s bad weather but this is ridiculous! 6 hours in a car!!!!!!!! They told me 2 hours in the beginning; words cannot express my frustration. I work a great distance from home and I depend on AAA. I am going to recommend that no one uses this app to request service. It’s not dependable!!!!!!!! I have had AAA on and off for over 20 years and I have never encountered anything like this. Too bad my car wasn’t further down the street. The AAA provider in Ypsilanti is always fast. It’s past 3:40... no updates, no tow truck!

Not User Friendly. This app is not at all user friendly. My car recently broke down and I scheduled a tow truck through the app. I was unaware that my membership only included 5 mile tows and once I found that out I cancelled the tow. I upgraded my membership through the app so I could get my car towed a further distance. First off, I missed the little asterisk informing you that the benefits would not go in to effect for 3 days. I schedule my tow a day early and now AAA is refusing to pay the charges. I have been unable to locate the day I paid for the upgrade and wasn’t aware of the 3 day wait period. Not only did I pay for the membership upgrade but now I’m stuck with the towing bill. They’ve done nothing to help and will not prorate the charges for the year and provide a refund. I’ve never had to use my AAA before and will be cancelling my membership effect immediately. I’ve spoken with multiple people at AAA and they haven’t been helpful at all.

Frictionless experience. Signed up for AAA because I locked my keys in my car and the annual cost for the service is less than a locksmith trip. Downloaded app to request roadside assistance; the app is amazing and worked seamlessly. Only downside if the service was that it required me to wait 48 hours after account activation to request assistance. But once that activation window was up, I was able to make the request for roadside assistance with a couple of clicks, and immediately got a confirmation text that a truck was in their way. It took less than 30 seconds to make the request and the truck was at my driveway within 10 minutes with real time tracking updates available the entire time. Seriously the most user friendly, seamless app and experience I’ve had pretty much ever.

I love this app! (Mostly). I used this app for the first time today to place a road side assistance call. I’ve used it in the past for triptiks and random information and it’s just fine. 2 issues with the roadside assistance. It doesn’t FORCE you to clarify your location, so the tow truck was sent a few blocks away from me. Before the truck came I noticed the address discrepancy and called customer service via the app and corrected the mistake. Second, in the “where do you wish to be towed” it gives the option of using your contacts, but not SEARCHING your contacts. They’re also not in alphabetical order. :-/ I have over 1400 contacts. Had to look up the shop by opening address book, searching and copying it by hand. I’m sure these issues are easily correctable if AAA was aware of them. Ya can’t test everything in beta. :)

App Works Well, But My Issue Is With AAA Drive. The way this app grades your driving is ridiculous. I get dinged for “time of day” when I drive home from work at 4pm. It’ll say “Stay off your phone” and give me a 2/5 rating for mobile distraction when I haven’t even touched the phone. I don’t know if it’s accelerometer-based rather than noticing if your phone received a command, but I can only assume that the lovely Detroit roads are setting it off. If you drive for more than what seems like 20 minutes it dings you for “fatigue”. And don’t even get me started on the “Smooth Driving” category. It basically expects you to just run through all traffic lights and avoid stopping altogether. Works okay if you take the highway but it’s impossible to get good marks if you drive in the city. If I drive any smoother it’s because I’m going way below the limit and causing traffic and making everyone around me angry.

Poor. I have been a member since 2010 and have used the roadside service many times for the multiple drivers and vehicles on my plan. The last four have been horrible. Two were battery issues, both of which took over three hours. One was a flat tire and I sat stranded in the truck I was driving for three and a half hours. Today I had a Porsche on the road when a wheel speed sensor failed rendering the car immovable. The app would not function and I waited for twenty minutes for a human to answer, followed by a five hour wait for a flatbed wrecker to haul it four miles to the shop. AAA, like many soft and flabby businesses, has lost it’s way. I also use AAA hotel discount frequently but have found that most lodges will give you the same price if you ask for the “Manager’s Special” at the desk. So I really don’t need that old perk. The wrecker drivers tell me that most contract haulers will not work for AAA anymore because they pay very low and are slow to pay. I am shopping for a better roadside service provider but may just fire AAA and pay as I go. There is no more peace of mind with AAA.

Save Yourself. Don’t do it. Don’t waste your time. You will wait an hour for your service request just for your request be cancelled because it “cannot be completed”. I called to confirm that my tow truck was coming, and they gave me an estimated time. They kept pushing the time back, and neither the time on the app nor the location of the tow truck was ever updated. I felt comfortable driving my ‘85 Chevy long distances because I had AAA. I’ve never felt more stranded in my entire life after trying to get someone to help. I didn’t even break down in the middle of nowhere, it was literally in St. Paul at 6:30a on a Saturday morning. Thought I would get help fast because no one is out and about. After a 4 hour wait, I said screw it and drove 20mph until I made it to the mechanic. AAA, update your app, and don’t release it until you’ve worked out the bugs. It’s not fun sitting on the side of an interstate thinking you’re being helped when you’re not. I paid for your membership, it’s time you kept up your side of the agreement.

Tows. I hear people say they don’t like AAA. I’ve never really had any bad experiences. The old saying you get what you pay for sometimes is true. With AAA, your not paying a lot for a really good service. Yes sometimes you have to wait, but that’s not their fault. You put yourself in the situation of needing a tow, and it’s because of some maintenance you haven’t done, or something you’ve neglected. I know because I’ve been there. I like AAA, because they really do there best mostly, and the drivers are hard workers that are doing their best. The only issue I’ve had, is a couple of the service people on the other line, not understanding the issue at hand? But overall I’ll continue getting AAA, every year because the service works and you get some really great discounts at shops and restaurants, especially Napa Auto Parts. Thank you AAA, for doing what you do.

Please fix it AAA. Original review(May 5, 2019): I have been trying to open this app so I can share it to my son (New Driver)to teach him how to access it aside from calling in case he needs help from AAA. I had used it twice before without any problem, it knows my location right away and response was quick but lately it keeps on searching a network then it will crash then it will bring me to a link to take an on-line survey. It has been more than a week that it is doing it. Come on, please fix it. UPDATE(May 6, 2019): I can log in now after what the developer suggested me to do,- uninstall the AAA app then reinstall it. I have to do the same thing on all my AAA app in my other phone and tablet. I salute the developer, though, for replying to me right away. And for that, I will update my one star rating for them to four stars. 👍🏼

So disappointed. To say I was disappointed with my experience with AAA would be an understatement. After hitting a pothole and having my tire blown out on May 10, I called AAA immediately after around 4:20 pm. I was parked in a residential driveway because I had no choice. The associate I spoke to on the phone said the tow truck would arrive at around 5:45 pm. An associate named Drew also assured me that AAA would cover my free Uber ride home since I had no one to pick me up. I thought it was a bit of a long wait, but I had no choice because It would be unsafe to drive home on it 30 minutes away. At around 6 pm, I still heard nothing back and began to become hopeless. I called Drew back but my call immediately went to voicemail. Since I had to feed my dog and I had to use the restroom, I had no choice but to drive home on my flat tire, which was not a great decision. I finally received a call back at around 7:20 pm from the man who would have towed my car. I told him that I had no choice but to go home. No one should have to go through what I went through, especially being a young driver. I will not be renewing my membership with AAA again.

Stranded and no help. So this just happened today. I got a flat tire on my way to work (on the 60 near the 605) on the freeway. I tried to make to my job but air was escaping to fast so I was forced to pull over on the LEFT shoulder of the freeway. I managed to get 4 of the 5 nuts off but just couldn’t get the 5th one off, it was too tight. I called AAA which they dispatched a mechanic to assist me, yet upon discovering that I was on the LEFT side of the freeway and not the RIGHT side he was unable to help. Leaving me stranded on the freeway. So after having a police officer stopping by to see what was the trouble I called AAA again which they dispatched a tow truck to tow my vehicle. I told them over and over again I don’t need a tow I just needed help removing that 5th nut. Yet as I was telling them this a random car pulled up to help me. To this point I’ve been stranded on the freeway for over an hour and a half!!!. The guy saw was wrong and pulled out his tools and very quickly helped me by removing that 5th nut. From that random stranger helping me to me finally leaving to head to work it all took 2-3 mins! So thank you random stranger and a very POOR performance on AAA. It shouldn’t matter where you break down or need help because we can’t control that. We can’t control where we break down it just happens…..just help the customer AAA.

DARK MODE and other issues. Recently switched my insurance to AAA after becoming a new member. Have yet to have a chance to use the services. I am exploring the app, but everything is so bright - there really needs to be a dark mode option in the settings to make the app experience better. Additionally, the Request to Limit the Use of Your Sensitive Personal Information section is buggy, both in the app and on the website. It seems difficult to get passed the email verification page. Intentional? I hope not, but makes one wonder. I’m hoping this isn’t indicative of the level of service provided. I was pleased with the sign up process and had questions answered to my satisfaction - but insurance companies are notoriously good at this part. What matters is how they show up when needed. Time will tell here and will report back for good or bad experiences. Thanks.

Hardly works; useful features aren't there; useless features abound. When I open the app, it's very good at wanting me to enable Location Services (no thank you, but of course there's no Dismiss, just Remind Me Later). When I'm actually in the app, it lists my name and my account number but says Membership Expired with a link to renew my subscription. When I follow the link, I have to enter my email address and password, although I'm already logged into the app. (And BTW, Touch ID would be a nice feature, but it's nowhere to be found.) When I signed in, the screen flashed about 20 times before talking me to a page that advised me that I'm on Auto Pay and I currently have no payments due; my subscription actually renewed five months ago. So why does the app think I'm excited? Who knows? Where do you see the details of your plan? Under Membership? Nope. Who knows? Do you know how many miles your plan covers? If not, you probably won't find out in the app. There are many features in the app, like Insurance, Add a Driver, etc. But since I don't use those, I can't comment on them. Honestly, I went to try them just now, but when I tapped the menu, the app crashed and closed. So there ya go. One star rating, because 0 doesn't seem to be an option.

When it doesn’t freeze up. I downloaded this app so we could plan a cross-country trip with stops approximately every 10 hours. I have not found another app which allows this except for this AAA app. I find this feature extremely important for our trip the only issue I have is their application likes to freeze. I don’t use this for my insurance discounts. I think you’re a complete fool if you let your insurance company track your driving habits because things happen on the road which you might have to speed up or slow down abruptly. I can’t imagine getting dinged on my insurance because the application thinks I am speeding or swerving or driving reckless. Farmers insurance wanted to track my driving and I also thought this was a ridiculous notion. Why does everybody think it’s a good idea to have a watchful eye over your driving habits. Dumb dumb dumb idea. I’m just saying, if you plan on using this to track your driving for insurance purposes I think you’re making a foolish decision. Who the hell wants their insurance agent riding around shotgun with them all the time!

Hmmm. This review is only for the AAAdrive portion. I don’t understand how this app really knows what’s going on in every situation. I have been getting perfect scores on almost everything except for the fatigue and time of day portions. I love how I get dinged for fatigue for driving a 15 minute drive to work and for time of day. People should not be in trouble for driving at 1030pm when just getting done with work or going to work. Everyone has different sleeping times of the day and should not be judged and get a reduced score for working the late night shifts. Just because one person might be tired to drive doesn’t mean everyone else is. Same goes for fatigue. I don’t see why I would have 3 out of 5 bars for a score for driving 15 min. I could see driving a long period of time but seriously if you can’t drive 15 min and get marked down for that maybe one should t be driving the . This app is totally unreliable and unrealistic. As soon as my premium is done I will be going to a different company. Never connects to the internet. Always says offline check internet connection. Don’t understand why this is the only app that has this issues when every other app I have works just fine. So stop telling me to check my internet connection and fix this stupid app

Horrible Service and Waste of Money. I feel cheated by this service. I got a flat tire coming home from work at 5:30. Open a ticket in the app. The estimated wait time is until 4:15am the next morning. I called in after 15 minutes to confirm the accuracy and the service offers to call you back instead of waiting on the line. Well, they don’t actually call you back. The estimated wait time was 10 minutes. After over an hour I called again and stayed on the line. After another 20 minutes of holding the very nice person on the phone checked with who the ticket was sent to. They said they didn’t offer the service needed; SO THEY DID NOTHING WITH THE TICKET! Had I not called in, literally nothing was going to happen. My wife had picked me up at this point and they wanted me to drive back out there at 10:30 to meet someone. Which would not work so I had to cancel the ticket. Re-opened the next morning and they said they were sending someone out. I have time to write this review because it’s been 2.5 hours and I’m still waiting. The current estimated time of 7:30 tonight after they promised me less than two hours. This is the absolute worst service I have received from any company. RUN, and I mean RUN! (Mostly because you won’t have a car to take you anywhere).

Stuck in Texas. I had my wallet stolen when I was visiting a friend in Austin and my rental car keys were inside the wallet. After speaking to the roadside assistance representative from the rental agency, I was told that I would need to have the car towed back to the airport where I rented the car. ( I didn’t buy the rental car insurance). I just received my AAA card the week before my trip and I remembered that I placed it in my suitcase. I called AAA and they sent a tow truck to take the car back to the airport so that I could get another vehicle. The tow truck driver was awesome. He was very helpful and empathetic to my situation. Once we left the car in the rental fleet yard, he drove me to the rental site. I am so grateful for AAA. I can’t say enough about everyone who helped me.

This App gives me a feeling of security!. I’m a first time user of the AAA app. Last Friday while on the interstate our truck overheated and so did the transmission, blowing fluid out of the dipstick tube, so I called AAA for assistance. While on the phone they walked me through installation of the app. While I was on the phone the truck cooled down and my husband was able to put transmission fluid back in the truck. I was able to cancel my call for assistance easily using this app. Yesterday I went out to go to work and my car cranked but would not turn over. Today I used the app to schedule my car to be towed to our mechanic. They kept in touch with me through the whole process with text messages and a map on the app that showed me where the tow truck was at at all times and it’s ETA. These are wonderful features! I keep thinking about what if I was alone and stranded on a dark road? I would know that help was on its way because the app also has the ability to locate me, and if I’m remembering correctly it asked if I’m in a safe location and gives me an option to call 911. SECURITY :-)

Vacation Tragedy Averted!. A young female deer came out on interstate and was struck by my daughter ‘s vehicle! It took some time for my family to review where to take the damaged car! Once finding a place to assess whether the 2017 equinox by Chevrolet could be saved or totaled. Problem was the air bags were deployed and the front of the equinox was completely torn up and the radiator was leaking fluid all over the ground and steam filled the SUV which frightened the occupants! After waiting 5 hours on the interstate, the tow truck operator from Atherton Body Shop in Council Bluffs came to the rescue and was able to bring our family together again at the body shop. His family; wife, mother and two children were able to bring my two daughter’s and their significant others to the car rental center in Bellevue, Nebraska. We were so appreciative for this family, who went above and beyond to save us and put us back on the road to our family reunion in Colorado. Triple A (AAA) were catalysts that brought the best outcome after such a unfortunate circumstance! With the rental vehicle, our family was able to continue our journey rather then have the reunion cancelled and everyone having to return home! We are eternally grateful!

AAA took 6 days at a cost of $500 (travel insurance denied claim) to change travel plans!. Remember when AAA used to be customer friendly. When you could walk into any AAA and get relatively quick one on one travel advise/book travel at a discount/count on them to help you when travel plans changed. Well no longer: most travel agents work from home and if you ask them unless you ask them a simple question like “what’s the time”. They will force you into a snail email exchange where they will ignore you then pass you off to another travel agents. I was passed from one travel agent to another 3 travel agents in all. By the time the third one made my travel changes which was 6 days later I was forced to pay over $500 in travel fees. My original flight cost $600! When I called the airline which would have cost $150 to make the changes they said I had to go thru my travel agent! I would learn later that if I had simply canceled my flight I could have made a claim for the AAA travel insurance I had paid for. Not a single one of the 3 agents explained that to me!

Not helpful in an emergency. I have the app and it’s has my account info loaded. My car battery died in an inconvienant place (they never die in a convienant place right?). I opened the app and there’s four buttons on the top, home, roadside, near me and more. All buttons worked but the roadside. Button was unresponsive. Closing and reopening the app didn’t work. The button wasn’t an actual button. More like a picture. There’s also a button on the bottom of the app of two cars crashing. That also has four buttons, 911, message my contact, request roadside and call Lyft. Guess which button also didn’t work? I’ll assume you guess request roadside. When I went to the AAA website, clicked help, I got a page does not exist response hahaha. What’s the point of the app for roadside service if it doesn’t call for roadside assistance? I mainly got AAA for vacation help and I’ve never had their vacation planners do anything. I’m probably going to cancel this service.

Worst insurance app ever. I have been with 3 carriers for insurance in 5 years and AAA by far has the worst customer service regarding claims of all 3. Your information never automatically updates in the app like Geico or State Farm and you will always have to write down or remember everything with your claim like it's 1982 because AAA claims will tell you everything is a different department. So good luck if you need your claims agent you will most likely get a different 1-800 rep on the east coast that is no help. I tried calling 4 times into claims and they don't even know where they had my car towed. I am in communication with the auto shop to attempt to get them into contact with AAA to begin the work/claim process. Its already been 7 days after my claim and AAA has done nothing. Most likely switching carriers again due to this experience and complete lack of customer service. And worst app ever in comparison to Geico or virtually any other carrier. Nothing is updated in claim info or your roadside section. App does not track or update roadside/claims when all others do.

Great idea, poorly executed. The AAA Drive part of the app is a great idea. I like to save money on my insurance. The AAA Drive part of the app is poorly executed though. Metrics for distracted driving does not make sense. How does one earn a score of 100? The phone is face down in the center console of the car, the phone has do not disturb turned on, the radio is off... and I score a 91 out of 100? Not cool. Smooth driving is mostly dependent on how you have your phone secured. If it is hanging and swings about, expect a low score. I find flat works best, but it’s not perfect. I scored a 60 in a parking lot and I was going slow and not accelerating or stopping hard. The map showed that I was accelerating hard and slamming on the brake. Really? Phone was in my jacket pocket. The funny thing was that distraction metric was 99 on that test drive. I received a phone call in a parking lot. I answered and pulled into a parking spot. I got dinged hard for that handsfree call while parked. Might I make a suggestion to the dev team and just use the do not disturb as an over riding metric. Also, have an OBDII BT option to get the correct metrics from the car’s system. This app doesn’t have a way to detect if one fully stops at a stop sign either. Create a way to note on the map where it shows sudden braking why that happened.

Don’t be without Triple AAA!. Our family has been members of AAA for as long as I can remember! It’s a great organization that provides fabulous service especially in times of stress and problems when you’ve been in a car wreck or do you need assistance on the road. They were great for us in 2012 when our children graduated from college and I was rear ended on I 85 on my way from Greenville South Carolina to Atlanta Georgia! A AAA member was at my car (it was a hit and run) Even more helpful than I can possibly tell you for making sure that I was all right to making sure that our car was drivable back to the suburbs of Atlanta but we live in. As I said don’t be without AAA if you want easy traveling safety in the knowledge that people are there for you when you need them.

Excellent Roadside Assistance. My sister and I were returning home from a cross country trip when my car broke down just outside of Santa Rosa, NM. Triple A sent us Anthony from Ortega’s Wrecker and Auto Service. Anthony arrived in less than 30 minutes. He was kind, friendly and very compassionate about our circumstances. He went above and beyond what we were expecting. I would wholeheartedly recommend Anthony and Ortega’s Wrecking Service to anyone who finds themselves in the situation we were in. Additionally, the owners and mechanics that we dealt with at Ortega’s were honest and knowledgeable and demonstrated real integrity. Thank you AAA for sending us Anthony and choosing Ortega’s Wrecking for our service call.

Literally never works anymore. This app was extremely buggy for quite some time. It would have trouble connecting, it would say my membership was expired even while reflecting changes recently made on it, and would disconnect or log me out regularly. As of a couple weeks ago when I needed it, the app will not allow me to login at all. I just get a message that it can’t connect. I ended up calling for the jump start I needed. While I waited for the driver, I checked if I could log in to the website and I could without problem. That’s why I’m blaming the app and not the general website for the errors. I will say the website also showed my membership being expired while reflecting recent changes, so that one may be on them. In any case, the app has been literally useless for me, so there is no point in downloading or using it until something changes.

On vacation and battery dies in front of hotel! Really??. Thanks to quick thinking of an app to get my car started instead of waiting for someone to answer the call! I actually did make the call waited for an agent, heard about the app (which I already have), tapped battery issue and presto my text was answered as I still waited for an agent. I hung up and received a text that my message was sent and a truck was on its way to help me. The text gave me an estimated time of arrival, I received a call and few minutes later he was here recharging my car battery! I love AAA!! Great job, great app, great workers! Mercedes

Outstanding customer service and towing mechanic and company. I received towing service today and I live in Southwest Florida we are hurricane in hit hard. The towing service that partnered with AAA is Alpine towing out of Miami. The towing mechanic was Lamar who was the fastest most efficient towing mechanic I have ever witnessed! I had a flat tire and the battery will not respond and he had to deal with a couple of issues and he was resourceful she was under pressure to address many other towing calls and he was excellent and I am taking the time to acknowledge him personally and the AAA customer service team and Alpine towing out of Miami to help AAA in southwest Florida after such a devastating natural disaster.

Nice, but over sensitive!. Drivers score card feature is a joke. I work 7a-6p regularly, and drive for a living. This app is constantly utilizing my gps 25/7 (yes pun intended) even when I’m not driving. I wont be touching my phone while driving, and it claims I am. I drive the speed limit, it tells me I’m speeding. Time of day is bad, and hits me hard. Fatigue is always flagged. Smooth driving is hit hard as the app pretty much wants you to drive at the minimum speed limit with no cars around you…this is impossible when you’re on the freeway. I don’t recommend this app for professional drivers or those who utilize full coverage and are going for “safe driver’s discounts”… Having gps ALWAYS ON also kills my battery and I need to utilize my phone regularly between stops, and have to panic about battery life and data usage thanks to this. In the two weeks that I utilized the app, over 2gb of data used alone! No thanks. Fix the sensitivity of rapid accelerations, medium/hard breaks, and “phone usage”…and lets not forget time of day and fatigue…maybe i’ll go back to using the app…especially if gps monitoring gets adjusted as well.

Terribly dangerous!!. I used this app for the first time after my tire blew out on the highway. When scheduling the tow request I noticed I was asked to confirm my location on a map. Seemed straightforward so I confirmed the location. 15 mins later I noticed my tow service was cancelled. Why? Because he went to the wrong address. What? I went back and checked and noticed that the pin the map used was about 50 feet from where I was. No big deal except I was up on the highway and the map address was down the hill on the street. And amazingly I couldn’t drag the pin on the map to the correct location. Nor could I input it in the text box. It only would allow me to enter a street address. How crazy is that? So here I am on the roadside 30 mins later and still not tow truck. I’ve been a triple A member for 16 years. Time to think about a new roadside service company!

Love my AAA. I’ve had AAA almost 10 years !! Some years I never needed them but others I have. Fast tows drivers are always super friendly and come to your rescue timely. Battery needed a jump a few times came very fast also few years back I locked keys in trunk lock smith was friendly and had a great sense of humor !! It’s a great membership to have. Things happen in life and it’s a great cushion to have when you’re in a pickle with a broke down vehicle, dead battery or keys locked in car !! I love my AAA renew my membership every December!!! Thank you for 10 years of great service!!

No Real Response on App to Roadside Request. I need AAA at my home to do a battery test and potential replacement. I downloaded the most recent version of the app, and submitted my roadside request at 3:38 pm. The notification popped up to tell me that assistance was expected at ... 3:38 pm. That should have been my first clue that something was wrong. Twenty minutes later, another notification popped up: my request had failed, and did I want to call AAA? Thank God I wasn't in an actual emergency, wasting 20 minutes with a request that went nowhere. When I called AAA, the voice menu kept reminding me that I could always use the mobile app if I didn't want to wait on the phone. As it is right now, the app is only good for holding my card info (which is on my card) and trying to peddle goods and discounts to me that I don't need when I want roadside service. By the time I need AAA again, maybe this ridiculous app will work properly to get me actual assistance.

Made things easier. Just by inputting my information was great when I had to get my new battery. I saved so much by having this insurance. Using it one time pays for itself. The guy was courteous. But I had to go out of my way and pay cash for the battery. It was the only real inconvenience that it would not let me just pay for the battery before it got there and I didn’t know that he had no debit card machine. I had to make unnecessary purchases because of no ATM close by. When I got ahold of the agent I didn’t have to give them my card. I think that the app needs worked on. Because I’m deaf and if I was in a loud place I wouldn’t be able to hear. I knew what the issue was. And wouldn’t mind being reimbursed if all I needed was just a jump.

Roadside service. I had called to get my car towed after it wouldn’t start. I had tried jumping it and it still wouldn’t turn over. The AAA worker arrived and I explained that it may be the alternator or starter that is the problem. We popped the hood and instantly he saw that the battery was loose. He tightened the bolts, waited a couple a minutes with his diagnosis tool and then asked me to try and start my car. I turned the key and I was thrilled when it started! He then showed me with his tool that everything else seems to be in great working order. No towing needed and a quick fix! The worker was very kind and knowledgeable in his field. Thank you for your help!

Frustrating experience and poor interface. I don’t even know why I pay for this service if I can’t get assistance in a timely manner. This app doesn’t do anything except reroute you to the AAA website. It doesn’t allow you to contact the service provider or track where they are The user interface is just terrible. I scheduled a tire repair when I had a flat. The ETA changed to an hour later than the initial ETA and since I was close to my home, I decided to drive home instead (less than a mile). I was unable to change my repair address. After being on the phone for half an hour, a call center employee canceled my appointment and scheduled a new one more than two hours away. Two hours later the repair vehicle is nowhere to be seen and I’m listening to an automated voice while waiting for a human to answer. My entire afternoon is lost

I’ve used the app for service several times now. And haven’t been disappointed once. When I think about how many times I’ve used the app, it seems like a lot, but I have had AAA for many many years and the app for over a decade. The only time I freaked was at a remote location where I had a hard time getting a signal - I got a request in but when the signal would lag, I couldn’t tell the status. We were so far out, it took over an hour for the tow truck to arrive. Everything turned out fine. As for the location services issue others have had, I’ve never had the problem with this app, but with another app & would suggest restarting the phone after a change like that. Thank You AAA

App would not allow login. This is the worst. I tried for 10 mins. You open app go to login and the cursor does not go to User ID then u touch and start entering user ID no next or auto move to password and u cannot get cursor onto password no matter what you do. That’s it you are stuck. I tried closing app and opening many times. I know how these bugs work so I tried going to many screens and when I tried to look up member profile it forced to login and luckily that screen had reset or didn’t have the bug now. So I immediately entered password and then moved to user is password would not show the usual dots but still I tried and somehow it logged in. If you are a developer or a QA person you should know a user would not have go through so much trouble just to login. Then another feedback I requested road side assistance and it says waiting but no backward navigation I have to close the app to get back any other screen. Seriously !!

Phillip K Reed. Because I forgot that their was a fraudulent charge on my debit card , AAA did not get paid. Then I gat an email about owing you money. When they explained “ because of not paying not paying on time I lost the 438. + dollars!!!!! “ I said, I do not have that kind of money.” Because it costs me nearly around , 1400$ a month just to pay her monthly medical and she does not get any money from social security, Why” she did not qualify because of being 1/4 of a year short of qualifying. She does not have use the right side of her body, Right side does not work😂 she does a little amount from me!

The +More button does not work - now resolved. The app loads and shows basic insurance information such as policy numbers etc. However when you touch the More button at top right and access the drop down list none of the buttons work. No way to get to the banking tab so I can access my credit card information. This needs to be fixed Upon posting this review a AAA, Margaret, an application associate immediately got back to me via email. With a few short email exchanges problem has been resolved and all is working. She was extremely helpful. That’s for the immediate response. Great customer service

Battery Replace. It was hard to navigate to the battery replacement section, but someone called me to double check for a replacement battery. I placed the comment my battery underneath the battery issue category, hey, they should have working links. The service is a 10/10, person came early, replaced battery in record time, and filled up my tires with air. The app needs some more improvement, but I’d rather have a 5/5 service with a 4/5 app followed by a phone call. They app has not replaced their quality service. I would give a 4.5, but never a 4 star.

Disaster. AAA left my girlfriend stranded in the south side of chicago for 8 hours at night time, she had to limp her car to a police station and sleep in the waiting room. She originally called for a tow at 5pm, they said between 5-7:15. at 7:30 she calls them and they never wrote out a ticket for dispatch, and said they’d have the next available person pick up. 4 hours later she was still sitting in a police station. Great company to use if you want to be forgotten about and led on for an entire evening and night! Potentially the worst blunder I’ve ever seen, and the blithering idiots who work for this company offer zero compensation for any of this. Her and I, along with everybody we know after we told this story, are cancelling our AAA memberships as we found out just how useless of a company it is last night. If I could rate less than one star I would.

AAA Insurance App needs work. The AAA membership is great, but when handling insurance policy related tasks this app could do much better. It opens up a web view and requires me to sign in every time which makes it such a hassle just to make a payment or pull up my records. Let alone the interface isn’t proportional and struggles with load times. Devs, could we please get this fully integrated into the app rather than opening a web view or at least make the experience better? I really like having AAA, but it’s starting to be an issue for me. Compared to other insurance companies, their apps are substantially better and user friendly making policy management so much easier. Awesome membership, but the app needs some more work. Hope this review gets seen, thanks.

Frustrating. I’ve always been frustrated when utilizing the app because it’s just slow and buggy (it’s mainly used for hotel research). I use it because I like to see the diamond ratings, the integrated trip advisor ratings, as well as the good housekeeping filter (I absolutely abhor a dirty room). Well, well…since the last update, I can’t even filter for the good housekeeping hotels because there doesn’t appear to be an filtering ability in this new app version! So frustrating. I refuse to scroll through (and of course, read) about undesirable hotels (e.g. sold out, low ratings, cost, etc). Oh, and did I mention having to enter my AAA number, too, when starting the hotel search to see the AAA rates inside the AAA app? Makes. Me. Crazy. Developers: PLEASE incorporate the filter feature again!

Not dependable anymore. Have AAA since 2017, used it frequently in the past and the service was outstanding. No more! Needed a service to get keys out of my trunk, called at 6pm, near midnight still waiting, in this time span AAA confirmed someone was coming. First 1 hour and 57 minutes from 6:09, no show. Next confirmation 10:36 pm, no show. Again in the meantime was on the phone with them at least 5 times and all confirmed driver coming. Disgusted by almost midnight I called and they canceled my call without telling me. The dispatch said he doesn't have anyone in my area until the next day!!!! So, if no one was in the area why say there was? I pay for this service 24/7 service and they brushed me off like I didn't exist and they could care less. Such a great service turned into every other business out there that doesn't care about their customers anymore. Researching new providers for this service. THIS IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE.

Confused on app. Please do guys twice in the past month the first time I had to wait like four hours for you guys and so you guys cut me a credit but this time I waited like a half hour for the guy to open my car it was great I did not use the app yet I'm still learning the app because you guys always ask to sign in soon as you use it and they're in a crisis and you don't want to think about signing and so I've just been using the phone number I find that's easier right now but every time I have to sign in and everything and I forget my password and Ada didn't have it saved on my phone but yeah for sure I'm gonna start using the app I'm sure it's going to be updated and easier to use from now on

By far, worst app on my phone.. I was told that to get a discount on my auto insurance, I needed to install this app on my phone and all the drivers in my household. I was told it was no big dead. Before this app, I only charged my phone at night. Now I barely make it to 4pm. This thing is always tracking. Constantly telling me that I’m by a sprint store or I’m near a 1-800 flowers. How can I be near them, they are internet based? The tracking app is extremely inconsistent. It tells me I have distracted driving even when I don’t use my phone. I wrote a comment and was told “Thank you for contacting Member Relations. I can assist you with AAA Drive. The distraction score is a proxy for the level of distraction that you tend to experience while driving. It could be severe movement of the phone, talking on the phone, texting, touching your phone and also using your Bluetooth. “. So AAA doesn’t let you use your phone (even hands free) while you are driving. No navigation, no music. If someone calls or texts you-ding goes your score. I can go on and on about all the shortcomings of this app, but I doubt AAA cares. I’m all for consciously being aware of my driving habits, but most of the negatives are not accurate. I wish there was a way to see the debug logs to see what this thing is doing.

Worked like a charm. I had the first opportunity to actually use the AAA app to summon roadside services tonight. I already had my number in so it was all set to go. It had my location on the GPS and didn't need any additional information. It summoned the tow truck immediately and gave me a time estimate of 45 minutes. Two minutes later that time estimate was updated to 20 minutes. Ten minutes later the truck was there, loaded my car and took it to the mechanic. I've never had such efficient service from AAA over the phone in the nearly 40 years I've been a member. I'm totally impressed and am making sure the whole family has the app.

Roadside app freezes up. I had requested for roadside assistance in the morning for one of my cars. The app was excellent to get timely help. Unfortunately one of my other cars needed to be towed on the same day in the evening . When I tried to request roadside assistance, the app was reverting back to my request I had made that morning. I just couldn’t clear the earlier request from its memory to put in a new request. I then tried to call in for a telephone rep and was put on hold for 15-20 mins. While I was holding on, the automated message kept telling me to use the app for faster help. It was a frustrating experience because it was a cold night and I was stuck at a traffic light plus having to deal with the “buggy” app and waiting for someone to come on the phone. I hope that AAA fixes this bug ASAP.

Frustrating. As a AAA member I use this app for everything to do with travel. There are some glitches that can get frustrating but for the most part it is easy to use and very helpful. I love the “lowest gas price” feature. I’d like it if you were able to book flights without going through a submenu. Edit: This app has become horrible. It used to be at least a little user friendly but now they want you to re-enter all your info EVERY time you use the app for anything. Signs me out every day then never remembers my AAA member number or the info needed to book reservations. Last flights I booked, my airline ticket read Alaska airlines when I showed up to the airport with just enough time to make my flight I was told the ticket was actually American Airlines and I missed my flight because it was clear across the airport! I just deleted after trying to log in with all my same info that works online and the app wouldn’t sign me in.

THANK YOU. Aaa came to our rescue for our failed Grand Canyon trip! We broke down 18 miles outside the Grand Canyon so their park services could help and the next closest repair and towing shop” doesn’t work with aaa” so Laurie spent ten minutes finding us someone to come to our rescue and it was the perfect set up! The driver that came and got us also got us a discounted rate on a hotel room to boot! And THEN we found out the engine blew and had to get it towed to flagstaff Hyundai dealership ...so aaa got us set up for that too! I am unbelievably grateful for their kind customer service because I am still in tears a thousand miles from home with a blown engine but they are so sweet in helping us get home

I’m trying to upgrade my membership. Every time I try to upgrade my membership the app just takes me in circles and I get nothing done. The app keeps forgetting my membership number and every time I add it and get a email confirmation saying so it just completely forgets the number and it takes me back to square one. I’ve never had to use the service on the app but I’m glad I haven’t because of the menus behave this way you would be stuck waiting on some help that was never called. EDIT customer support emailed me quickly after the review was posted and helped me with the issue. Triple a is a great service and has great customer service to help with and problems that you may have

Do not get this app. Despite reading the very bad reviews I downloaded it anyway. After taking several minutes to “configure my experience” (and not finding the internet connection 6 feet from me), I first attempted to sign up, not thinking about the existing website sign in data - which I didn’t have handy anyway. My mistake. Via the app I requested my login name - which I had gotten right it turns out - but then of course I had to request a password reset. No problem. Except it didn’t seem to like what I wanted the new password to be. Apparently you can’t use symbols (at least not $) but it didn’t say that anywhere. Finally get that resolved, and it says it will send me a confirmation email, which, 20 minutes later I still don’t have. I just wanted to renew my membership. Also, having to load in my membership number 3 times was a pain. The app has a “scan card” feature, but yeah it doesn’t work either since there’s no way to actually click on it.

Start from scratch. This app used to be pretty good. I used it all the time to show the map of gas stations and prices. Ever since an “update” I can’t even log in. I get stuck in this loop of being asked to agree to the terms, when I agree it tells me to download the other AAA app. I figured they were getting rid of this one and transferring people to their newer app. I tried that and that one is even worse! My husband tried downloading the apps with the same results. These apps are completely useless! They error out before you can get anywhere. What a waste! I tried to use the contact form to inquire about my issues and more than two weeks later when I got a reply was told that issues with the app should be directed to my local AAA office. Why?! Since when does the AAA office in town have an IT guy ?! Useless! Both these apps are being deleted.

AAA Roadside Assistance. AAA Roadside Assistance is great to have but I’m disappointed that right as soon as you put in a request for help, you are told the wait is nearly 2 hours and your request may not even be “assigned” to a service tech for another 30-60 minutes. The app is great in giving you a countdown to the estimated time of arrival of your tech and shows where the tech and you are on a map… but I’ve been in two situations now when the nearly 2-hr ETA came and went while the tech’s location on the map went from closer to farther and didn’t seem to have me really on his radar. Waiting past 2 hours on 2 separate occasions for a battery jump start or replacement has been really, really painful. I wish there was more legitimate timing through the app and better communications overall.

Useless app from a respected brand. I’ve been a AAA member for half of my life and this is the first time I’ve really needed to plan a road trip. After paying my membership for almost 20 years you would think I could at least have the ability to drag and change my route like I can do with every other mapping software out there. No. Trip Tiks wouldn’t load properly in Safari so I tried Chrome. Both apps are supposedly supported for this site. It kept logging me out and canceling my destination entry. When I finally got it to map it took me through the busiest parts of New York City and would not allow me to drag the route to the highway is that I wanted to take. I gave up and tried the AAA app, which in turn force me to download the Auto Club app which only brings me back to the same useless web pages I was on before. Absolutely no purpose for either app if it’s just going to send me back to the dysfunctional site. If I hadn’t been a member for 20 years and hadn’t heard everyone in the generation above me lauding how amazing and necessary AAA is, I would just think it was some crappy startup venture, not an established company with a decades-long presence. As for my road trip? Well, at least if I run out of gas I have someone to call.

Rating decreasing over time. Once I downloaded the app, I opened it up, and loved what I saw. Great piece of work, stored my card ID, has all sorts of service features, and is decently responsive. But the story doesn’t stop there. I downloaded the app on the side of the road, so I could get roadside assistance. I started a request, and 2 hour wait. Very easy and intuitive to start a request. Easy to follow up call. On the line with the representative, figure out a way to speed up the request. But nope, the app doesn’t reflect it. Get assigned to a tow truck driver, app has all the bells and whistles to show this, but doesn’t Tow truck driver is on his way, app is supposed to track him, but doesn’t. I am now sitting here, learning how many of these great looking features do not work. And there are more than a few. Oh and added bonus. While figuring out if a tow truck driver could be here faster, the AAA rep let’s slip that their systems supporting app are both slow and take a while to update, and it’s much easier and faster for them to do things phone. Overall, very disappointed. This is for the most part a good looking app, and has potential. But the fact it’s so slow, not well supported by it’s company, and the nature of the service is kind of emergent means that I’M not too impressed

Vehicle towing. I called aaa on Saturday to have my husband Chevy van picked up from my house as the HOA will not allow any work on Vehicles of any kind in your driveway. I was forced to call aaa to have my husbands van towed to my mechanic ‘s house. I was told by the person who answered the phone that you are only allotted 1 vehicle tow of the same car per year. I have had aaa for the longest time and am a plus plan member. I was very disappointed in that response. All the money you have collected from me for many years and I get that answer. I am not happy over this matter and am thinking or changing my member ship to another company. I have only had maybe 3 -4 vehicle’s towed in all these years. The tow truck driver was very kind extremely courteous and even offered me a bottle of water. His name was Clarence. So if this is true I will be shopping around for another tow company to serve my needs from this point forward. Thank you Michele .

AAA is literally a life saver. My boyfriend and I were on our way out of town when my car broke down on the side of the highway! I used the AAA app and they sent - not one but TWO AAA drivers to assist us. I had the 100 mile tow with my plan. We’re able to get towed 80 miles back home! The care and assistance was remarkable! I literally could have cried! If you’re debating on whether to get AAA or use regular roadside assistance with your insurance, please use AAA! My insurance was going to reimburse us for a tow but AAA was included! I didn’t have to pay a penny when the driver arrived! I’m telling all of my family and friends! AAA you’ve earned yourself a loyal customer!

Fast response and ease of use is amazing. I was very skeptical downloading this app and trying to get the service provider as I’ve heard horror stories of people using the app and waiting hours for someone to show up vs calling and having someone right there in minutes. Well this app pinpoints location easily and is very responsive for whatever service call you need. Even can give you the up to the moment location of the provider being dispatched and any delays communicated immediately. Just remember to check and make sure the phone number on the service ticket is your number so they can call you if need be.

Roadside Service(battery service). Wife’s car battery died with car in the garage. Tried to use the app to obtain roadside service. After going thru the steps to identify the type of car and submitting my request, it took about ten minutes to get the app to respond and ask me to confirm my location, showing me a map where it showed my location to be, which was incorrect. It showed my location to be a couple of blocks from my actual location. I live in a new housing development. The app would not allow me to enter a corrected address, nor would it allow me to highlight my actual location on the map, although the app showed the street layout of the new development. The app should allow a person to enter an address even if it doesn’t match the app’s internal address load, and the app needs to be revised to allow moving the location pin/dot on the map to show the actual location.

AAA phone app. I’ve had triple A towing for many years and have only used them twice! Both times we were in hectic situations with one being an accident and the other a vehicle breakdown! They were both on freeways at busy times and quite stressful! The worst one was in another state and traffic was so noisy that I could barely hear the dispatcher but we used the app and she figured out where we were and sent the appropriate flat bed truck to rescue us! The driver of the tow truck was more than helpful and safely got us to a nearby motel where we could address the breakdown! Using the app simplified a difficult situation and I have nothing but praise for the services provided! Sincerely Richard Russel Sr.

Driver excellence. My car decided to die today and I needed a tow. Used my membership to call for assistance fully expecting to have a rather long wait ( it was raining so I figured there would be lots of need for tow trucks today). Long story short my driver Sunny called me within 15 minutes of my request and was at my location in 30 minutes. It was certainly my lucky day, he was quick, efficient and most of all polite and helpful beyond my expectations. He most certainly made a stressful situation much easier to handle and I would have given him 10 stars if they were available.

The Greatest Tech. Robbie who came to help me with a car that wouldn’t start, diagnosed the problem immediately. Since it was an issue that AAA didn’t handle (aux battery), he waited with me !!!!!! until I found a dealership that would do the installation that day. And HE STOOD IN THE RAIN WHILE I SAT IN MY CAR TRYING DIFFERENT DEALERSHIPS until I found one that could fix car that same day. GREATEST CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP: AIRPARK DODGE CHRYSLER JEEP, 7801 E Frank Lloyd Wright BLVD, SCOTTSDALE. What a great impression he makes on AAA customers. He knows EVERYTHING about cars . Is so pleasant and upbeat. Greatest experience I’ve ever had in the 30+ years I have had AAA. Be smart and get this service. Would someone please let Robbie know!

Not the same as it used to be.. You once could count on AAA to be there within an hour if you needed a tow. This time, yes, they always ask if you are safe, which I always have been (bc I know they’ll be there within an hour, or close to it, right?). They took from Friday until Monday to show up. They kept promising that, this time, they had someone on the way, which they didn’t. I was on the phone for hours, making at least a dozen calls or more, to inform them that the tow truck you promised never showed up, & to request another tow truck. Not one single person cared when I told them what I was going through, just trying to get a tow. I will give them another chance though, just bc I’ve been with them for years (which sure didn’t help me this time) & bc they’ve been so great in the past. Hopefully it was a fluke, but one person in “the biz” told me, “it’s just not the same anymore….”

Exceptional customer service. I’ve had my membership for a short time (less than 2 months) when my engine got filled with fluid. It was stressful, to say the least! Jorge Diaz from station 9117 (truck C) was great to work with. He was eager to help, had wonderful demeanor and was very helpful and professional. I needed my car picked up at a specific time and asked for him to let me know when he was in the way. He communicated throughout the day to let me know his ETA which made it much easier for me to coordinate with my work schedule. He had a great attitude and made a stressful situation more bearable.

Great. I was stuck in a bad situation where my car battery dropped down to a point where I couldn’t open the trunk or start ignition. The car was in standby for maybe 20 minutes and that’s why this happened. I was super fortunate enough to actually download the app prior to my situation. I was able to go through the app and get help.. I was updated as if I called in. The AAA rapper came to help me was phenomenal. He gave me a diagnostic about the battery and give me options. He actually had batteries at hand. I chose to go to a AAA service center so they can do a full check up. We just got this car. Super happy that my family has AAA.

Convenient App!!. I love the convenience of this app. Whether it’s to manage and pay your AAA assistance or insurance. Which I have both. But be warned!!! If your signed up for auto pay and you decide to pay early, even by a week or a single day, they will double charge you. Twice Ive had to call in and get the charges refunded. They’re computer system doesn’t seem to be able to identify when it’s been paid. So they charge you again. It’s frustrating. Because I’ve had to start and stop my auto pay now to pay early some months. Which is why I’ve not given it a 5 star rating. Because what if you don’t have that extra money in your account and need it for other bills? Having to wait the 5-7 days for the refund can really hurt some people. Please fix this issue. Then you’ll be 5 stars in my book! Thx

Really bad at tracking smooth driving.. No matter how slow I accelerate or brake, it’s almost impossible to get above 60 while driving. I have no idea how to get this score up. If you travel around the city or densely populated zones there are so many stop and go’s that the app just assumes I’m driving haphazardly. I never touch my phone while driving and I still can’t get a perfect score on mobile distraction. What is the point of this app’s discount when you can’t even get it because of its poor tracking? There honestly needs to be better patches to give more leeway on small bumps and acceleration. The only time I’ve seen above 90 is when I’m on a plane on a runway which makes 0 sense. Maybe since larger vehicles have absorbs shocks better than smaller cars it doesn’t feel anything? The app scores honestly frustrate me as I’ve tried a ton of methods to improve to the point that it seems like a waste of time.

Road Service. AAA has always been the best. If you own a vehicle you need a reliable road service. It pays for itself if you use it. Even years you don’t use it, it gives peace of mind. If you are with family or friends whose vehicle breaks down, you can use your card. I have had to do just that when with a friend on our way out of state. We didn’t have to involve anyone else and we’re back on the road and on our way quickly. If you have several people cars in your family and multiple vehicles they can be added to the account at a discounted price.

Works, but needs improvement. I was not able to enter my location of my home when my car did not start. But I was able to position the map curser and my neighbor’s address across the street came up. So I used that. Then when it asked me where I wanted my car towed I looked at my contacts. They came up in no order, not even alphabetical. I did not want to scroll thru 600 contacts to find my mechanic. I was able to enter the address for my mechanic and that worked then. When the final entry was sent in I like how this worked. They called me and I explained exactly where I was located. And then I could follow the tow truck on the way and saw exactly when it would arrive. AAA took good care of me.

A++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++. I can’t say enough good things about my experiences with AAA since subscribing again after many years. From quickly getting me resubscribed and getting service to me while I was stranded, to installing a new battery (x2- no charge for 2nd due to warranty) and jumpstarting the new batteries, everything was fast, efficient, great price, fantastic communication and the guys were the best! It is such a pleasure, in these times of terrible service, to experience such fantastic customer service especially when dealing with car problems. I can’t thank you enough!

A Plus. I signed on with AAA knowing that eventually I would need some help and boy was I right. Two days after signing up I needed to have my car towed in AAA was there. The driver they sent to tow my car was very courteous and excellent service. The next time not even a week later my car stalled out and I called AAA once again. Not only had my car stalled out but on the way walking to the store I inadvertently locked my keys in my car. The roadside assistant That came out was very courteous as well and he treated you treated me very well. I signed on because a lot of my friends are with AAA and they’ve had some pretty good experiences I never expected my experience to be as good as it has and I will be with AAA for many years.

Card in Apple Wallet shows wrong expiration date. My membership is paid through 2023 and the app and website confirms that. And I called the AAA line and they also confirmed I am paid through 2023. And on my iPhone, when click on “View cards” the card also shows 2023. But if I then click on “Add to Apple Wallet” the card that it downloads to the wallets says “Valid Thru 2022” instead of the correct “2023.” So I can’t use that card when someone wants to know if I have an active membership. When I called AAA they said they’d have someone from their tech services call back about the issue. That was two weeks - no one has called back, and the app still hasn’t be fixed (I downloaded the latest version today).
