Good but could be great. As an SLP working with preschool through fifth grade students, I use this app on a daily basis. I love that I've been able to create many custom categories and have been able to share these with colleagues. There are a few things I would love to see in this app to make it really great. #1 ability to go back to a previous picture, sometimes my students tap the picture too quickly and there is NO way to go back. #2 ability to turn off verbal reinforcement in game mode, I have a few kids who repeat everything and it's hard to get them to stop repeating 'super' or 'you did it', plus it gets a bit annoying. #3 this app seems to freeze quite a bit, often we will need to tap an icon 8-10 times before we can select the category. #4 a way to keep data on items named or identified correctly. That's my wish list for this app!

Pretty good app for babies and toddlers. 👍. This app is so good. Last year, it helps Suri to use flashcards like this. So I’ll like this one because it help babies and young kids learn with flashcards. Thank you AlligatorApps for sending this app.

Difficult to Customize. I want to create a customized list using the existing cards, but I can’t figure it out! I tried making a copy of the list, but I got stuck in a loop telling me to name it, but not allowing me to. I am frustrated!

Love this app. Wow! I love this app. Not only can you add your own photos and record your voice, you can add them to an existing category. Example I took a picture of my sons high chair and added it to the house category. I even added his favorite food Mac and cheese under food. My 1 year old son LOVES this app

Greatness!. My 11 month old loves her flash cards at home and now we can play with even better cards on the go. There are so many different categories that she never gets board. We love this app!!

Great, but needs some improvement. In got this app for my 2 year old and it has really helped him with saying more words! There are just a few bugs/improvements that could be made. 1) When editing a previously made customized flash card, the recording will disappear and have to be re recorded. (For example if you change the thumbnail picture then the recording will not be there even though it still plays back on the editing screen) 2) After making or editing custom flash cards the sound goes way down when you go back into the flash cards. If you exit the app and go back in the sound goes back to normal. 3) It would be nice if you could go back to the last flash card.

Great App!. This is an idea app for infants and toddlers to increase their vocabulary. Even more, working with autistic high schoolers, I believe they will greatly benefit.

Nice pictures. Love the app. Just have 3 suggestions. I wish there was an option to take the words off completely. Also, I wish there was a option to make it harder to change the pictures at will. Other apps have a two finger swipe across the page to change it to make it more difficult. Right now the slightest touch changes the picture which brings me to my 3rd suggestion which is to be able to go back to a picture that already passed. I do love the app and hope these features are improved in a future upgrade.

Great app with lots of customization options!. I like the different options the app allows for customization, such as speed, font size, color etc.

Good Quality. It's good quality cards but there is too many categories. For example the cat category gives flashcards with every breed of cat. Dog is the same. My toddler doesn't need to know animals in that much detail! Settings are minimal.

Annoying solicitations are worse than free version.. I was tired of my daughter pressing one of the pay categories so I bought the full version. Within minutes of its being installed, we were being pan-handled. Said no. Closed the app. Opened it later and pan-handled for a *different* app. Disgusting.

Versatile. Great vocabulary! Some pictures are not clear, like overhead view of kayak, skinny view of fishing rod. Scale of pictures when multiples are shown is weird: matches are larger than a tent... Overall, very good app.

Waste of money. I was looking for flash cards for my two year old. The vehicles show a segway and a limosine. The cats list bengal cat and sphinx. I don't care about the words, but the pictures are of things my son doesn't see in daily life. So they are not meaningful words to learn to speak.

First 1000 words. Great app; however the settings icon is not present for me to use all the features. Have emailed the developer. Hope they reply soon. Pictures are more diverse than previous edition.

Love this!. One of the best parts of this app is that it allows you to add your voice to pictures. How better fir your kids to learn but from you voice. Also you can add family members and their names along with pets or just about anything else you want to take a picture of and add to the list. So far no issues with the programing.

Love It!. I teach English to little kids and they love this app. The photos are nice and clear and they don't even realize they are learning.

Good App. Very good app. Would like button to repeat recorded word when student is stuck on a particular word. Maybe on next update?

Great App, but a few things need to be fixed. The picture of the Phone Booth was spelled "Phone Both", but luckily, you can go in and manually fix it. Also, Hiking Trail was spelled "Hiking FIX", like they intended to fix the flashcard, but then forgot before they launched the app. But, you can fix that, too. I really like the option that you can delete some categories or slides! Overall, a great app for a great price!!

Wonderful. I love the freedom this app gives you! Just made a very large family app with their photos and names getting my little one ready for a big family wedding. This is by far best app I have bought for my 20 mth old. I love it, and my daughter LOVES IT too!!!

One of my favorites. I love that I can add my own vocabulary words and customize the app. My students like that I can take their picture and put it in a special folder just for them. Great app. Thanks!

misleading screenshots. For some reason I thought I was multilingual, which is what I expected after looking at some screenshots. Otherwise, interesting app.

Best Flashcard App. Learning with real pictures is best, despite the plethora of companies that would have you believe otherwise, and this app delivers.

Must have!!. Anyone who lives or works with young children can benefit from this app. My toddler loves it, especially the cards we made ourselves of family members and places we visit. He is able to choose categories and flip through cards independently and learned at least a dozen new words today. I will also use this with the older autistic and downs syndrome children I teach to learn names of classmates and staff and create a visual schedule. No problems with crashing or disappearing buttons on iPhone4.

Top of the class. I recently read it takes 1,000 hours of "Lap-time Reading" to prepare your child for school. These cards take the stress out of teaching and allow your child to learn at his/her own pace. Excellent customization options fit all needs!

Very good work on this app.. In my opinion superior to several similar apps of this variety, this app has a very broad library, from primer words to complex and compound words, a wonderful voice that says the preloaded vocabulary, and a simple, intuitive interface to create your own flashcards! If you use flashcards to help generate speech, you should get this app!

Mom. Love this app. Just wish that game part could give option for less than 4 choices. It's a little too many for my special needs child, but I love it anyway.

Soviet Shuttle?. This app works well with my special needs daughter. I did notice under the "Shuttle" image that it is a Soviet space shuttle (notice the CCCP on the wing). I assume they wanted a U.S. shuttle image and e-mailed their support team to let them know. I plan to edit with the U.S. image.

Love this!. Great app for building vocabulary. Easy to use. Daughter loves it too. Makes learning fun! And even better that you can add and edit. This way we can add specific places to go and her favorite toys and games.

Pretty good app. Images and customization options are great! But image viewing design needs some work. Expect to swipe left / right to view images backward / forward and tap to repeat word. Instead, all you can do is tap image to move forward. No repeat; no back etc. Frustrating for little ones.

Very good app. I love this flashcard app. The pictures are wonderful and I love that there are different ways of using the app. both my own kids and those I work with love it.

Awesome. Your flash cards are awesome. My daughter is 4 years old is Down syndrome and Autistic non verbal. When she taps on each flash card she approximates every flash card. These and ALL the other cards has taught her a lot. All of your apps are awesome they are teaching my daughter a lot. I couldn't thank you enough for all you awesome apps.

Great app but sound goes out. My son loves this app. It's just frustrating when the sound doesn't work. Please fix this issue.

Perfect. Love it! My 17 month old wants to go through her customized family flashcards every day. Not only can she see her loved ones and pets and learn extended family's names, but she can hear their voices since they helped me create the cards. As for all the cards in here that aren't familiar, just star the ones you want to keep and then you can just go through your favorites. I think this aspect makes this an app that works well for many cultures - where children would be familiar with various types of fruits and vegetables.

Love it, but annoyed with support. I love this app. The kids can't move on to the next card until the recording is done saying the word, big deal for me as my kids would just tap through. I like how things are categorized. If you want basic animals, you can find them in the first words section. And then you can expand with dog and cat breeds. The ONLY problem I have with this app is that I cannot get the microphone to work with it to make customized cards. The app has permission in my privacy settings, so I'm stumped. I contacted their help email and have not heard back and it's been about a week.

Good for toddler. I am using this for my 2yr old grandchild to tell me the name of the object on the flash card instead of the words on the card. I was able to delete what words she wasn't ready for. I hope this helps someone!

Love it!. My toddler son LOVES this app so much! We had a lot of fun taking pictures around the house and making them into flash cards. I also like how you can change the settings to play games. I would recommend.

Has potential, but big bug. We had fun with this app, switching between learning mode and game mode via the settings button. The second time I opened the app, the settings button was gone. Now we are stuck in game mode and my 18 month old needs to learn the words before he can play. Bu fix, please?

Awesome!. I just purchased this app and began perusing it and it is one of the most awesome apps I have found. I cannot wait to begin using it in my classroom! My students will love it and not even realize how much they are learning because it's technology and they'll do anything as long as it involves technology. The cost was so little compared to the amount of time it would take me to make this many flash cards and it is all so organized great for my Type A personality. lol Thank you so much!

Microphone doesn't work!. Love the idea of customizing cards but the microphone won't work on my iPhone 5, it has access to the microphone but I can't get it to do anything when I click record. Very disappointed!

Initially loved it, but now not so much!. Loved the idea that I could make flash cards and share them with my co worker and vice versa. Initially it worked great but now when we try to share, it just puts us back to the home screen. Have tried to contact support several times with no response. It's too bad because it was such a great idea and time saver, not to mention quality product. Hope they figure it out soon! After lots of frustration I finally figured out that you can't title your categories with symbols or the program won't share via e-mail or Dropbox. After revising the category names it was easy to share my customized flashcards and I'm very pleased with the app!

Now if you could do one for American sign language!!. I love the detailed pictures, how you can personalize settings to your voice, loop options, variety of these flash cards are GGGGGGreat! keep up the good work, I just wish I had seen this full app before purchasing the one only for Emotions because they're in this app as well. Tis does take a lot of memory/MBites but it's worth it. I have bee using my iPad 2 touch with my toddler since she was 6 months now she's 18 months and works the iPad better than me!!

Awesome App! Room for minor improvements. This app is wonderful! I love that the flashcards are categorized into basic categories, making it that much easier to use. I wish that there was a "back" button to go back in case of an accidental tap on the screen, or if the child/student was incorrect the first time. The fact that you cannot go back is my only caveat with this app. Otherwise I love it! wonderful app for first words!

Love it. I bought the old version last year, then when I got a new iPod I bought it again. This updated and expanded version is awesome! My toddler son loves it and I really like huge the variety of categories.

Support uncontactable. I was very excited about this app for my child with special needs. When I tried to make a custom word list it would not allow me to access photos on my device despite giving the app permissions to do so. I have already paid for the app so this is a big disappointment. When I tried to email support it bounces back as an unknown email address.

Favorite App. My 18 month old loves this app! Great for learning first words with nice pictures :) It's easy for him to operate and I like that it is customizable. We added an album of family pictures for him to flip through too.

Aphasia. My husband is a stroke victim and has severe speech problems (aphasia). This is one of the best apps we have used. Just so many items to 'show and tell'! He is learning by sight (sound off) & sound. Thank You!

Made by someone without children. Not good. Difficulty of words differs a lot, without a way to select. E.g., you get Doll, and then Building Blocks. Kids will be either bored or frustrated, half the time each.

Microphone won't work. I would love to customize my own flash cards but the microphone won't work. It did once and now it won't. It has access to my microphone but won't record anything. Pretty much a waste of 1.99 and my time.

Not so great. It has an extensive vocabulary list - with many words that are just to complex or obscure for pre-k and kindergarten sight words.
