Nothing special , too expensive. I have downloaded the app as it was promising a lot. By scanning the plant you get the name of the plant and what’s the plant condition, but not specifically group. Patient of issues that can happen. My plans had abiotic and it might be from a few different things, so it doesn’t specify from what my plans got abiotic. After I click on consulting what to do about the plant it offers you plantbot to advise you for $9,99$ per advice. Things like advising how to help your plant recognizing plant, recognizing sort of the plant should be included in weekly price which is 7.99$. Absolutely disappointed and I have the reinstalled right away! Somet

Definitely FRAUD!! SCAM!!. Be aware and carefully with this Apps. So, I downloaded this Apps for 3 Days-free trial. The day I downloaded, I unsubscribed just to make sure I am not forgetting to do it if I don’t like it. And what happen is they took my money for weekly subscription. And I submitted a refund, and they said I should contact App Store. So when I try to submit refund from App Store, it doesn’t show transaction with them. And they charged me directly from their website. I know this is not much $6.99, but times 1,000 or 100,000. It’s a lot. So be aware!! Updated: They finally refund my money after I contact other support and being very noisy. So if you experience the same. Try to contact other section, do not choose refund section. Because it would asked you to go to apple support.

It literally saved me!!!. My plant was dying, and I didn’t know what to do, and no one around me knew either. I’ve searched on the Internet but only made the things worse for my poor Monstera 😭🌿 I almost killed it 😰 thanks God, this app allows you to consult a botanist. So I took the photos and sent them 🧑‍🌾 and the advice was super useful! My plant is alive thanks to Plantum! I’ve also adjusted my care following the recommendations and my plant is doing fine. I’ve been more mindful of growing my green pets ever since. Thank you one more time!! 🙏 🙏 🙏

Who has time??!!. I have tried to identify plants and to diagnose plant diseases or conditions/deficiencies, but to no avail. I will take the picture of my plant or of the plant in question, in the app, But the AI that is used in the identification and or diagnosis process, just spins a wheel, and then brings up a message that I can try later or wait a little longer. However, after going through that process several times through “wait a little longer,” no diagnosis identification is rendered. Who has the time? I needed the assistance that was touted in the app description, but, alas, the app is as diligent as this millennial generation. I would not advise wasting your time or your money in the purchase of this app.

Try PlantNet instead.. If you don’t want to pay $59 per year, then this app is practically useless. It’ll give you 1 free identification (1 total, not 1 per day), and then it’s done until you pay. Don’t even think about using the “free” trial, as they don’t respect the 3 day window, and they auto-bill instead of asking if you want to go through with the upgrade. I’d like some sort of in-between app, where the free version is actually useful, and then the pro version has expanded features, access, etc.. Those who need the full thing undoubtedly find this app great, as it seems well put together, and fairly seamless. It just offers nothing for the casual user. PlantNet and iNaturalist are much more friendly to casual users, and as of right now, don’t charge for plant identification or anything else.

Seems like a huge gamble.. I tried it out with my Vizsla. App thought she was a mushroom. I clicked that, no, she is actually a dog. It gave a list of common breeds, all that I can recognize easily without an app (seriously: poodle, French bulldog, husky level of common breeds), but none of which was a Vizsla. I thought I’d give one more chance by putting in a variety of photos, but after going to the trouble of uploading, it didn’t allow me to even see the results without agreeing to the trial period after which I need to go into Apple settings to cancel or be charged for an app that can’t even tell a dog from a fungi. No thank you. Probably should give a bit more risk free of a trial if they want me to bother with cancellation.

Bad quality. The first few plants you check they let you do it for free but after that before each picture they have you watch adds, very inconvenient if you are a huge plant person with many plants around your home. Not to mention the app doesn’t even get half of the plants correct or doesn’t have a answer to what your plant is. And lastly it claims to be able to tell you the disease that your plant may have but each time you go to try it, it instead takes you to a slide for you to post a disease your plant has and describe it yourself instead of actually telling you wants going on with it. I recommend plantnet, I’m recently new to that app but so far I’ve been happy with it

Not worth it. Started off great thinking I was getting tons of information from them but as the weeks went on you get less and less info and more ads about buying a subscription. Things that I was able to do in the beginning I cannot anymore because I get prompted to purchase a plan every time I try to do anything. Everybody has to make money but I shouldn’t be asked to buy something every time I open the app. It’s basically free for one or two weeks then features leave and that’s it unless you purchase something.

Pleasantly surprised. I placed my plants on a north-facing windowsill and for the longest time I couldn’t understand why they weren’t growing. But then I tried light meter and realized that my plants lacked sunlight in that spot. Since then I’ve moved them to a south-facing window, and voila - they grew taller! Now I think I need to move them to bigger pots because the pot meter told me that they’re not comfortable in their current containers. If you have any trouble growing your plants at home, I highly suggest this app and the light meter and pot meter especially since they have helped me a lot!

DON'T PAY FOR ANYTHING!!!!. It identified my plant and it said it was sick when it obviously wasn't, so it said if I wanted to know what my plant had I had to pay, it was only $10 yearly so I said ok it's cheap, then after I bought the app it said my plant was perfectly fine 🙃 So I grabbed a plant that I knew it was sick and it said it was sick but if I wanted to talk to an expert so they can tell me how to fix it and what it had was other $10 per session 🙃 are you kidding me? You can keep the app for free if you only want to identity your plant but don't pay for anything else if you think it's sick is easier to Google the name of your plant and ask why your plant has the leaves down or brown or the issue you're having, trust me is the best you can do

Useless. You can take 1 photo total before it FORCES you to sign up for a free trial, or simply pay. That’s absolute nonsense and ultimately makes the app entirely useless. Who in their right mind is paying $60 a year or $8 a month to identify pets and plants? Honestly if you’re that into plants, they have books and plenty other free databases you can use for identification. This is overpriced useless nonsense. Honestly, the only reason why I wanted to take a second photo was because the first time I tried with my cat it gave me breeds that were not accurate at all. I read the descriptions and each one had specific characteristics my cat did not have. For example, the first breed match must have blue eyes, my cats are clearly yellow in the photo. The second breed match had “space between the eyes the same width as the eyes,” the space between my cats eyes are further than this. So on and so forth, my point is this app is USELESS! Do not install!!

Not perfect. I was very exited at this app and subscribed without even free trial. I am new to plants, and I immediately started learning a lot of useful information about 8 plants I have. But when it said I had to water and fertilize some of them DAILY, I kind of refuse to follow those recommendations. But my biggest dissatisfaction was that I couldn’t not upload the photos of my beautiful plants to “my plants” page, even though the app identified them correctly. So, after spending a couple of frustrating hours on the app, I had cancelled it the day I subscribed. Just wasted $20!

LOVE THE APP but.... So I love this app so much, it really is great and I don’t have any complaints but one. And before i say that I will say that the only time you get adds is when you scan a plant if you don’t have premium it’s really great! But now for my complaint... when you go to add plants to your yard they chances it will be completely correct is maybe 40% they honestly don’t have a lot of normal plants on here, and by that i mean common plants. Like a SERRANO PEPPER. And common flowers and ect. Out of 8 plants i scanned 4 were incorrect and when i searched them up they didn’t even have that plant.

Helped me with watering. I’m almost never home because of a busy schedule, so I often forget to water my plants😓That’s why this app’s customizable reminders have made my life a lot easier. I’ve set them in a way that they pop up when I come home. Since then, my plants have stopped withering because now they have enough water. When my Zamioculcas suddenly developed brown spots, I used Plantum’s diagnose feature and discovered that it was suffering from overwatering. Turns out I shouldn’t have used as much water on it as on my other non-succulent plants. Thanks to Water calculator I finally figured out how much water my Zamioculcas really needs, and now it’s looking fine🤩I’m satisfied with the app, but I would like it to have a disease journal where I could add photos of my sick plant every day and see if the treatment I give it really works.

Awesome Plant Recommendations!. This app has been a real life saver for some of my plants!! And I mean that sincerely, I would have three less plants than I do right now if not for this app. Not only does it identify apps well, it also gives watering amount, pot size, light amount, and soil pH specific to each kind of plant. It can also be used to remind you to water your plant, re-pot, etc…. However, it isn’t able to identify ever single kind of plant. Out of the maybe 50 plants I have identified with the app, two or three weren’t in the app’s database.

App doesn’t work and is not accurate.. I have tried using this app at least ten times today on different plants in my yard. All it does is spin and spin and then says an error occurred. This happens all the time with this app. When it does give a response it isn’t all that accurate. I have seen it call a cherry tree a peach tree. It has called my Yucca plant outside half a dozen different things. I have white cedar outside and half the time it gives me an identification it tells me it’s a red cedar etc. It seems to only work well on common, distinctive looking plants that most people can identify on their own.

Hideous customer service - took my $20. I purchased this app online and how do you spell an unbelievable amount of time trying to get it loaded up. It would not function on my phone. I reached out to Customer Service for help and they continued to tell me after having me wait for a week that I was doing it wrong and I needed to reload the app. They would not listen that it was not working. They would not listen that it was looping. They would not honor my request for my refund. Hideous experience. Complete waste of time. I’m a busy person and you run the risk of having your $20 vanish, being gaslighted by the raunchy “customer service” and having a LOT of time sucked out of your life with no results.

Eh needs work. I saw this app in a add and it looked very useful because we have a lot of plants and some of which are dying and we can not figure out why. So I decided to download it. After downloading it would not let me into the actual app unless I payed for a years worth of this app ($60). Yea ok Barbra, that ain’t happening, I deleted the app a minute later and went to the reviews to see if it was just a bug because I expected a little more from a app that had 4 stars. Nope that was no bug and I later learned that I had escaped a scam just in time for other people actually got tricked in to paying for it for a whole year. This is not a good app and it needs to give you a longer amount of time for a trial and not trick you into paying $60 dollars. I also have the question of this: the only reviews so far that I have seen are 1 star reviews so how does it have 4?

Best plant care app on the AppStore. I usually don’t write reviews but I want to share my opinion here to support this app as it helps me a lot. I have 6 plants in my apt in NY and I always had a problem with some of them like plants loosing leaves or get gray and feels like they are dying or struggling to grow. All this is solved with help of NatureID. Now I have all my plants in one place with suggestions and reminders and I can ask for advice of expert if needed. I really anyone busy who have plants to try this app.

Consistently the best plant identifier. I never write reviews but I really dig this app. I like being able to get all the info I can before buying to make sure the plant will be a suitable fit for the climate here. I’ve used this for a few years and they recently updated the app look, functionality, and accuracy, making it even better. I don’t usually like paying for apps but this one is worth the cost for me.

saved my plants!. I have several plants around my home that need watering one a week or so. It’s so easy to loose track of what you watered when and this app is exactly what I was looking for. It lets you upload a photo of your plant and automatically identifies it and tells you facts about it such as when to water and what temp to keep it at. I was keeping one of my plants in direct sunlight and it was dying but the identification let me know it’s best to keep it in cool, dry, darker areas and now my plant is growing again! It also has the option to send you reminders of when to water what plant. I could not be happier with this app and recommend it to anyone who’s looking for some app to remind them when to water their plant!

Love this app!. Have had the free version for about a month, and have had a great time with it and learned so much. Considering premium now but have 2 concerns. 1. Is there a way to get the app to synch between 2 devices? For example, I have an iPad and an iPhone and would love to have the info I put on one show up on the other. 2. I got a new iPhone today and NONE of “my plants” made it to the new phone in the data transfer. It kept my snap history but none of my plants or notes made it to the new phone and there were probably 75 of them. 😥 Is there a way to retrieve the data?

Was working great until I purchased subscription. I was using the free version of this app for months and enjoying it a lot. I liked it so much I wanted to upgrade to the paid version to support the app + its creators. First off, I noticed no major changes to subscribing for $20. Secondly, my app now crashes all the time, they took away the plant care reminders which were the only useful thing in this app. There used to be a way to snooze plant care reminders when the plant didn’t need them- now it just sends 30 push notifications a day. This app is a waste and I am downloading other plant care apps. Wish I didn’t waste my $$ in an attempt to support this useless app

Really enjoying this!. I enjoy plants (come from farming stock). I first got this app and subscribed when we got a kitten and it was “Help me quick! Are my potted plants ok for him to chew on !” There are so many unusual plants and I also wondered what all was growing in the Nature Area near our house. One suggestion: many of the plants I identify are common weeds or wild herbs. It would be nice to have categories for them. I appreciate all the work you’ve put in. I’m looking forward to finding more bugs that will stay still for me to snap their pic!

Love this app!. ♥️ ♥️♥️ This app is very helpful, it is very easy to use, also has a good amount of plant information, variety of different species. The app can track precipitation, when your plants need to be watered, how long you should wait to water them again, it also has a diagnosis system which can be helpful, but it does need to be tweaked a little there are a couple of kinks in it when it comes to identifying the plant species and family that they belong to. The app also keeps track of when plants are in danger of frost or excessively hot weather, even when there is wind conditions. It also can diagnose some of the plants problems when they become ill and it also can help determine if the plant is suffering from a type of infestation or if it’s diseased or when it’s a plant that you absolutely do not want in your garden. They can even tell you when you need to prepare your plants for the winter months and also what to add to your soil mixture to keep them with full nutrients for the coming months. Just get out those few bugs with misidentification and misinformation, but with that it also gives you different information of plants that look similar and may not be in the same family. This app is very useful and it helped me identify a canna lily that I had planted last year and somehow it grew and it started out so tiny and now it’s about 12 1/2 inches tall. exciting!

Identifier needs intense work. First off this app tried to charge me for an annual subscription and then charge me a fee weekly: I shut that down right away. I haven’t found this app to be as useful as I expected it to be. And the AI photo identifier system needs to better “trained” or however it’s technically said. I could take a crystal clear picture of a lady bug and it will think it’s something polar opposite. The diagnosis is hyper-sensitive but one symptom can be synonymous problems which is hard to really come to a conclusion without buying in more to the app for a personalized diagnosis.

Awesome app!. I am a new plant parent, and this app has been super helpful! When you first download the app, you receive an offer to purchase the yearly subscription at half price: only $10 a YEAR! It is more than worth the ten bucks. Although it doesn’t have every subspecies of a plant (It doesn’t recognize my raven zz, but it is a fairly new species discovered in 2018), it still has a huge variety. Even if it doesn’t scan your exact plant subspecies, it will find one close enough that the care requirements are the same. All in all, an Awesome app, and definitely worth the ten bucks!

Too expensive. Incorrect identifying. Signed up for free trial. I figured if it worked as well as it claimed, I'd pay the ridiculous $6.99 weekly subscription fee and use it on a bunch of plants for a few weeks. However, right off the top, The Nature ID App incorrectly identified two succulents-which I really needed info on! When I tried to contact the company the next day to cancel-I got no reply. Then I messaged again on the morning of the third day (last day to cancel)and they did reply and instructed me on how to cancel- but in the fine print I noticed it said "cancellation requests must be submitted 24hrs prior to renewal date to avoid being charged". So, I wasted my time and $7 for Absolutely nothing. Very disappointed.

Very helpful, especially for beginners. I’m a plant novice who is not particularly organized and bought multiple new plants. I’m sure I could figure out their needs in terms of watering, sunlight, fertilizing, etc, but when I have several plants, I’m more likely to get overwhelmed, mix up instructions, and forget. So this has been very helpful for keeping me organized and on schedule. Some things I think could be improved would be their information on succulents. Some don’t have instructions or have inaccurate instructions, according to some local horticulturalists in my area. Another thing I think could be improved are the reminders. If I don’t click the “completed” button, it automatically assumes that I have watered the plants and doesn’t remind me the next day. I’m super forgetful and would appreciate it if it kept reminding me until I marked it as completed.

Diagnosis doesn’t work. This app has been handy for identifying plants which is why I downloaded it, but when I tried to use it to diagnose my Orchid, it was completely useless. It didn’t recognize anything when my Orchid started withering, and I thought maybe there just wasn’t enough damage to recognize something wrong. Unfortunately the Orchid got progressively worse and the diagnostic button didn’t recognize anything at any stage. Now the Orchid is yellow, brown, and no longer flowering, (very obviously dying and prob beyond help) so I tried to diagnose one more time to see if the app would even recognize that. It did not, and continues to call the Orchid healthy. Maybe it works if you use the paid version.

Not as Expected. Though I could see the is app being useful for watering schedules and care for someone who needs the extra reminders. I downloaded in hopes it would better recognize what was wrong with one of my plants. It did not diagnose as it was advertised on it’s Facebook ad. Instead it gave me lots of info; which is nice but then I had to read through each one to try and figure it out. At the end of the day I still don’t know what is wrong with it. I just did the free 3 day trial so maybe other things open up when you purchase? It didn’t thrill me enough to make the purchase.

Identified my problem correctly. My ZZ plant looked sad and droopy after repotting and I didn’t know why. Then my friend recommended using plantum and its diagnosis. At first I didn’t believe it was possible for a mobile app to recognize a plant disease just by analyzing its photos, but turns out I was wrong! Plantum identified the problem with my plant right away and even proposed a list of possible solutions. It’s been weeks since I’ve started treating my zz plant and I can confirm that their advice works - my plant has never looked and felt better! I’ve also set up reminders in the app, which is quite helpful too.

Incomplete $9.99 Assessments. I purchased a sad little succulent plant from Lowe’s with the hope of reviving her. My usually green thumb was stuck since she wasn’t thriving after a month so I paid $9.99 for a consultation. The response was ‘I recommend repotting the plant in a different soil with a little sand added.’ What the heck? WHAT SOIL DO I USE? I responded back using the sent from address by replying . No response. I tried through the app. They wanted another $9.99. I don’t mind the consult fee if I can communicate in real time to the ‘consultant’. But it’s a one way feed. I feed them $10 and am fed a response solution that doesn’t allow questions based on the response. Yep, no, can’t do. Was wishing this would be a totally awesome app but it isn’t. I discontinued the subscription and want my money back.

Fantastic for the Basic Gardener; needs more for serious Gardeners. 1. Yes, I recommend this app. I moved into a new home with extensive and expensive landscaping and needed to KNOW What was planted and generally How to keep it alive… 2. But, I’m constantly going to google to find out when to prune or transplant these plants (a major step to keeping outdoor plants healthy and vivacious). That’s a big piece missing from this app for me. I’ve been manually entering plant names, bloom times, prune times, and transplant schedules into an independent calendar app. I know the general guidance in my zone but knowing exactly which plants to tackle when is helpful given how large my garden beds are.

Has not been too helpful for the price.. First be weary. If you do not exit the 3day free trial it has you set for the annual premium of 50+ dollars. I’m stuck with it for a year and 50 dollars drained. There goes my food budget for the week. Ramen and PB&js for me. Yikes. I digress.... Leaf snap, a free app, has been a bit more accurate than this one. Plant Photos I had uploaded shells out approximately 12 suggestions. Basically identifying the family but not the type. I already know it’s an oak, but is it a Laural or live? I know it’s a night shade, but there are several species. So which is the one that is in my hand? Get it. So my mistake for not closing out the subscription soon enough. Suggestion: go to an ad based revenue where local nurseries can have advertised specials they host through your app and based off user locations with push notifications.

Promising. Not a lot of succulents varieties are registered. A few common plants lack care info (like agapanthus or carnivorous plants). But most of all, after the free trial period you basically have to pay for almost everything : you can’t add any plant to your listing and you only have access to the top of the care page. Besides their gardening articles are not very complete and there’s only a few. So it’s great if you don’t buy any plants after the trial period and you just want care reminders. Sorry but I am sure there are other free options that are more convenient than this app…

Identifier was awful, free trial is so short!. I downloaded this app using the free trial to help a friend. When I got home, I wanted to play around with the app some more so I used the identifier to ID all the plants in my house. It got every single one wrong. I even took three different photos of the same plant and got three different answers every time. This is a really expensive app for wrong answers!! I already cancelled my free trial. And while I understand it’s on the user to understand the free trial, a three day period seems way too short. I’ve never used an app with anything shorter than a week free trial. Between the terrible results and the short trial, this just feels really scammy to me. Buyer beware.

Use Caution. Just a warning for new beginners (if this review ever sees the light of day). This is a wonderful app and delivers exactly as promised. However... it's one of the most expensive apps I've seen in any category once the one-week trial is over. The subscription is a whopping $6.99/ week. That's right. Per week. Make sure to cancel before the trial is up if you can't afford a big surprise in your bank account. You can find the option to cancel in your Apple Account subscription list if you have trouble finding it.

Not accurate…. I got this app thinking it would be pretty accurate. First, I am a landscaper so I pretty much knowledgable in plants and grass types. But, sometimes I need to identify other plants and live vegetation. I used this app just for that purpose. However, I can snap a shot of the same grass or plant 2-3 times and this app gives me 3 different types of names for the same picture taken of the same plant or grass area. This app is not accurate at all. I did the yearly subscription and feel for $40 a year is a waste of my money. Either update the app to be accurate or take it off the market!!

Nice App. I’ve had this app on my phone for about five months. I used it to identify the plants that were given to me as gifts. And I ignored all the suggestions on what to do with those plants. So far one philodendron has survived in spite of all I have done to ignore it. So this evening I decided to look it up again and see what I’m supposed to do. Thank you so much for your splendid instructions and timely suggestions before my plant finally throws in the towel. I’m feeling confident that I will bring it back to life!

No help when you need it. We were visiting my son and his peach tree was loaded with fruit but the tree looked sick. We paid the $20 for a consultation and put his email address on the requested report, since he was the one with the sick tree. Neither my son nor I ever got any kind of response to the question of what was wrong with the tree , so it was a total waste of $20. This app is heavily advertised as giving you cheap household solutions for sick plants , but as soon as you sign up you have to pay to even get plant identification, and it’s a more expensive app than others that do the same , and for your money you get zero treatment solutions for any problems. Then, when you do pay for help, they tell you it’s the weekend and they never respond to your question. Ever. So you get nothing. My son finally called the local agricultural university and sent them a photo and got the diagnosis — the tree was dying from an insect infestation and there was nothing that could help. Call your local A&M school and save yourself money and time .

Ideal for beginners. Hi, my experience with the app has been very positive so far. I’m a beginner in gardening, that’s why all the information on the Internet I read about it was really confusing and I didn’t understand how to apply it to my situation. But Plantum came at the right time, helping me figure out the right amount of water I need to use for each specific plant I have and schedule reminders for all of my daily care actions. I learned a lot from their articles, and the watering and sunlight tips helped me a lot. Light meter is by far the best feature i’ve seen in plant caring apps because it says whether my plants are getting too much or too little light in the spot i’ve put them in. I haven’t really explored their diagnose tool, but it’s nice to know that if I run into a problem with pests or diseases I know exactly where to go to for help.

Okay, but not good. This app did help me identify my plants and tell me the sickness that my plants had but if I tried to continue reading to learn more about my plant it tells me that I have to pay for a pro version which cost 35$ per year, its not bad but I don’t have 35$ just to learn more about my plant, it is unnecessary for everyone having to pay that much money just to learn more about my plant bucease the point of the app is to learn about my plant and the cons and pros about it, this app was helpful but not the best. I would recommend this app but also say that it mainly requires a pro version of it. 3 Stars I will still use it but not for long, if you agree with me please add more things that is not having to have the use of the pro version. Thank you.

Weird. Wanted to identify one plant and it showed a picture that looked like it could be the plant. When I click learn more it gave me a bunch of weird definitions for the name? Like ‘there is a river with this name’, ‘there is a prophet with this name’, ‘there is a village with this name’, ‘there is a character in winx club with this name’.. like who cares? I wanted to know about the plant not the name. Not sure why someone would pay for this app. When I searched for a plant identification app this one popped up and it seemed like it also included a care guide but it didn’t give me any such information. How do cat and dog breeds have anything to do with plants as well? Weird. Deleting the app. So glad I didn’t get swindled out of money like some other reviewers.

Doesn’t diagnose trees. Hello! I thought your app was quite clever, however the diagnosing was VERY unimpressive. The questions didn’t pertain to my tree at all - which is planted outdoors, in the ground, not misted… just a crabapple tree in our pasture. It asked what kind of pot, when did I mist it, how much sunlight- by a window or indirect light? I just answered over and over, “it’s a tree, in the ground, full sunlight”. I’m pretty sure it’s aphids, I said that word too - I was just wanting to confirm it - but the “auto” chat software kept asking potted plant questions. The LAST question was “do you see any bugs, active or inactive?” I would suggest the app should reply to the word aphid or bug with bug questions? Or possibly recognize bugs on a stem from the get go? My other helpful tip is to either prominently display NO TREES, (bc NATUREID indicates ALL of nature… not just house plants…) or quickly adapt your diagnosing software to have better detection for the word “tree”. It looked and felt like a HIGH QUALY app. I was impressed. So I chose to pay the $9.99 as a “test” for future inquiries- bc we have so many plants, flowers and trees on our property… I would have loved to use your app regularly. I figured a clear picture of possible aphids would be an easy test for the app to diagnose? Unfortunately I cannot say it was worth it - and I’m disappointed.

Pretty helpful. I don’t have much of a green thumb, so I need a little extra help lol! I must have pretty common house plants because there were zero issues identifying my plants. Exact plants were identified in a few seconds. After reading reviews, the common issues must have been worked out because not only does it identify the exact plant, it doesn’t recognize my dog as a plant lol! So I’m assuming breed identification is not a feature anymore. I took a star away because I tried the yearly subscription ($9.99 one) and it literally changed nothing. I have no idea what you actually get with the subscription. Also, I didn’t find any information on how to identify any issues with the plants.

Hidden Fees Even With Premium Subscription. First off, this has been a great app to keep track of my plants progress and become acclimated to watering and fertilizing schedules. That being said, I could do this on my own and not pay the $10/mo because that’s really all you’re getting. Is a plant note taker. Most of the “plant care” advise can be found using a simple Google search. Also, I find that there are many plant species that are not included in the “identifier.” Leaving me with a “Your Plant” snap with no further information. Most frustrating of all, is the feature that allows you to communicate with a “plant bot” for EXPERT analysis of an issue. Although I have the premium subscription, it requires another $10 (PER SESSION) to begin a chat… with a bot… 🤯 This was the last straw for me. I will be saving my money and utilizing an app that doesn’t overcharge for what is actually offered and doesn’t try to gauge me when trying use the features that supposedly are included with a premium subscription. Waste of money and time.

READ THIS BEFORE YOU DOWNLOAD. Don’t download this app unless you plan on keeping it. Three days ago I agreed to the 3-day trial so that I could identify a plant that I didn’t realize in my backyard. Since then I’ve been trying to figure out how to cancel my subscription. This is the craziest thing ever; there is no option for cancellation in the app, and the subscription doesn’t show up in iOS settings or anything. I’ve emailed AIBY about my issue and they have yet to respond. So while the NatureID app is very informative and nicely designed, I can’t give it 5 stars.

Incorrectly identified my house plant species. Canceled subscription during trial stil charged. I am extremely disappointed with this ‘AI plant identifier app’ and am shocked by the numerous high reviews it has received. Upon downloading the app out of curiosity for identifying my house plants, I found it to be inaccurate in identifying my plant species, leading me to uninstall it within the short timeframe. Despite removing the app, I was still charged for it! The app is a scam, manipulating its download through paid benefits for the short time. I got tricked. The pricing structure is exorbitant and should have been enough of a red flag, with a weekly fee of $7 or a yearly subscription of $40, representing (a staggering 900% markup for short-term users). This pricing strategy is designed to take advantage of unsuspecting users like myself who are lured in by curiosity only to fall into a trap. They must be paying people off for the high-reviews. Do not trust!

Solid app as a plant noob. To start out I know nothing about plants but this has been immensely helpful in not only in keeping them alive but even seeing them grow and seeing actual progress. It’s pretty intuitive and the videos are informative and helpful. I think it has just a little room to grow before it’s quite everything I feel like I would need in an app. If there was a feature that allowed you to have progress pictures and update the plant profile pic would be great. I would be able to go back and see my plant progress overtime and maybe track the effect of any changes I try like plant location. Then maybe an bar or something to visually show how much water typically is applied to a plant on each watering would help know at a glance how much water I should be applying when my water reminder appears. Like I said a solid app and I can confirm it has definitely helped me with my plants. Worth giving a shot.

Dodgy. Predatory billing practises. Hides the payment button in the tutorial screens in the hope you’ll click through and pay without realising. Why would I pay $15 for a “free” 3 day trial? What a rip off. Edit: You respond to say, “our app does not trick users”. If that were true, you wouldn’t have needed to defend yourself by repeating that line for half the reviews here complaining about the same thing. If users are telling you they feel deceived and scammed and you refuse to accept this as valid, that says all we need to know about your values and priorities. If your customers are dissatisfied and you don’t care, you’re a scammer.

Headline advertising is deceptive. Any app where you have to provide your credit details in order to use it is not free by any stretch of the imagination. Headline should not say “Free app” it should say “Free trial on provision of credit information”. “Free app” is dishonest or at the very least careless with the truth. The app might be worth the money but with that level of lack of transparency up front I doubt it. As a result I didn’t even bother with the so called “Free trial”. After wasting my time to download I am now unlikely to even consider anything else by the same supplier.

Andrew. This App is excellent for anyone wanting to identify all sorts of Species of plants in their own gardens as well as Friends Gardens, Parks, Bush walking on the sand dunes infant anywhere. This App not only gives the user the 'Common' plant name eg: Mother in Laws Tongue, however It also give the user the 'Botanical' Name and and genus/ Species derivative. The only thing this app Lacks is the ability to tell the user what plant is a noxious weed and illegal to grow in certain states. The apps accuracy is approximately 90%. The user has to be aware to take a photograph under still wing conditions with nice accurate bright light with foliage showing as much foliage shape as possible. I studied landscape, architecture, and horticulture many years ago, and I believe that this is a must have App for anyone really.

Freezes. Signed up for free trial but was instantly billed for it at the start of free trial period? Not sure what’s up with that. Anyway, the actual app is designed well in terms of user interface and looks to have lots of great features but… it doesn’t work! Freezes the moment I try to ask it to identify a plant or diagnose a disease rendering it virtually useless. Hopefully this bug will be fixed soon.

Overcharged every week. Careful after canceling subscription they keep charging you. Trail was 3 days without charge , tried it , unsubscribed in the same day. Have been charged ever since. Even tho subscriptions ended 25 of may it keeps charging me. Have contacted the support they obviously don’t care. ……………….

Not happy, avoid this app. I have tried to use this app to identify numerous plants and not once has it given me an accurate answer. Not only is it inaccurate they automatically charged me for a 12 month subscription at the highest option $94. I had downloaded it to try and used it once and the next thing I know they have charged me for a 12 month subscription. Dear Scammers, in reference to your response - you haven’t addressed anyone’s comments about the app not working!!!! Other apps make it very obvious that you are reaching the end of a free prescription period. I haven’t come across one that can be downloaded without payment and within 24 hours you receive a $94 subscription fee. I didn’t even get a chance to try it before I was charged.

Enough with these subscription based bs apps. Come on Apple, how about you take a little more care for your loyal supporters? Downloading an app, only to find the “free trial” requires subscription? Really helpful and easy to use!. Love this app! So many beautiful plants i love the look of in the wild but don’t know the names. The plant scanner is very accurate and informative. I love that the app tells you whether the plant is toxic to animals or not. I have 2 indoor cats and not being informed a plant i have is toxic could be very harmful to them! Definitely recommend!!

Does not work. Got this app to find out what one specific species of shrub/plant was in my yard. Took multiple photos and ran it through this app. Not once was it right. Ended up having to get a horticulturalist out to actually identify the plant/species. Would highly recommend not bothering with this app. The horticulturalist was at my house for less then 20 minutes. Identified more than just the one I was worried about being a pest. And charged me less than the apps price for the yearly subscription. From my point of view I recommend everyone to completely disregard this app.

Wrong ID. Can’t seem to get the plant ID correct so can’t diagnose problems with them I paid subscription and first year forgot to use it so paid again and it’s the most useless app around. My bad for paying money but thought I was getting some info for my money but NO I’m not

Forced to purchase upon download. Upon downloading, I was immediately asked to purchase a subscription before I even received the chance to open the app and test it out. Thinking it was a double confirmation for downloading, I was immediately charged for a year with no options for weekly/monthly etc. Of course, now this has put me off even wanting to trial/use this.

Doesn’t identify plants correctly or diagnose easily. This app is nothing like they advertise. Multiple plants weren’t identified correctly, as I knew what they were and thought I’d test them out. Plants that are completely different come up as the result sometimes completely different from what it is in almost all aspects

Money Hungry.. The app won’t even let you read which plant you’ve identified before asking you to upgrade to the premium version and the moment you opt to maintain your free version you lose the plant you’ve just identified (not stored in your history either). I repeated this process 5 times before deleting the app. I understand getting what you pay for, but there are numerous other FREE apps that actually provide what this app claims to. Don’t bother.

Great for identification. Was great and identifying the plans but any diagnosis was returned with possibly abiotic. Really not helpful considering that there are several possible causes of this, most of which you’re able to figure out could be a potential problem on your own. Sunlight? Watering? Temperature? These are all the things you’ve already considered!

How do you cancel subscription??. I’ve been looking how to cancel my subscription after testing this app out and I couldn’t find out how and all of a sudden $96 was taken out my account. Is there a way this can be refunded? I think I’m still on the 3 day trial period? Was a great app - just don’t need it myself - thanks. Michael

Shaddy scam app to get people to sign up unkowingly to a pricey subscription. First of all, this app doesn’t really give a very accurate reading, you’re probably better off searching on Google. I wasn’t going to write a review but I wanted to warn potential users that the app automatically pops up with subscription options (which are big colorful buttons) it appears as those are the only things to click to move forward, but clicking these will charge you for a subscription (even though the second one touches on a free trial). At the very bottom it says in super small font “continue using free trial”, click that or you’ll be charged.

Requests to subscribe immediately haha. Can’t use unless you subscribe to $10 weekly or $60 per annum. Can delay your payment by 3 days (so called free trial). I don’t want to bother searching how to cancel my subscription before it charges me $10. I just want some free to use app, but this one tries to pretend to be free while it’s not.

Waste of money... It’s diagnosis is broad. Identifying actual plant is good but that’s not why I got it. It was more effective cutting of an affected plant piece and driving 5 mins to a nursery where they diagnosed it and sold me the stuff I need to fix it - which worked a treat. There are loads of free plant identifiers apps that do the job just the same or better. So I think this app is very poor since as I said I just wanted to know how to fix my plant. It does offer you expert consultation at$15 a pop though which is also a waste of $$ gotto a nursery it’s free!

Very limited. Has a very limited selection of plants, and doesn’t allow searching or addition of new plant species, especially variegated types. Has gotten better at giving advice on care, but once again is limited to about three very common causes of problems.

Be careful about accidentally subbing and getting charged. Was excited to give the photo detection a try one Sunday so I downloaded the app and went through the regular app agreements and click click. To my dismay, I was charged with a $15 sub that was never intended. I admit I was going through it quickly but I am usually quite cautious however I suspect this could be by design. Whatever it is, it wasn’t a very good experience on my end and I hope it doesn’t happen to others. If it does though apple has a really easy “request a refund for apps” process so google that. Auto download after trial without approval. This app automatically downloaded without gaining my explicit approval. I only found out when reviewing my credit card expenses. I also can’t find out how to ensure it doesn’t automatically renew after 12-months. Developers, could you please let me know how to cancel my subscription to prevent automatic renewal but allow me to use for 12-months that I have paid for?

Not good. I paid for a years subscription and 1 month later they tried to charge me again. So not only did they try to recharge me, my years subscription expired after 1 month so there is something very wrong with their subscription process.

Don’t get sucked into paying $81. Terrible experience. Deceptive UX design which essentially tricks you into an instant ONE YEAR subscription for $81, when you think you’re signing up for a few days’ trial. Their video ads claim to let you photograph a plant’s leaves and AI will give you a “diagnosis” of what’s wrong with your plant, yet all it actually does is photograph your plant and then give you a bunch of photos of diseased leaves to choose from yourself. Steer clear.

BEWARE! Free trial is a SCAM!. Signed up for a free trial today and cancelled it after I used it one time, maybe had it an hour max. Taking this issue further with Apple as I checked my account and I had been charged for a year!! Requested refund only to be told this: Unfortunately, developers cannot issue refunds as this process is controlled by iTunes.

Good concept. Feel the idea is good, although lacks species. Wasn’t able to find either of my plants.

No longer stores photos in the plant gallery. I’ve noticed that recently the app no long keeps records of the photos you take of plants you add into your ‘My Plants’ folder, whereas it never used to be a problem. It’s been doing this for months. I’m disappointed because I used to enjoy looking back on the photos I took when I first got my plants and comparing them down the track, but now all the photos are gone. Please fix the bug potentially causing this, otherwise bring this feature back! Other than that, I love using this app.

Not an ad supported free app like it claims. They falsely claim to be an ad supported free app. That could be an Apple Store thing. Like most streaming networks, you need to subscribe to get your 3 free days but then get charged per week. It’s fairly up front but if you have an Apple account you need to be careful when you download this app.

Got charged in less than 24hrs of downloading the app. If I could give a zero star I would I downloaded this app and it did state 3 days free trial before you get charge a yearly fee, I cancelled my subscription the same day of downloading it, yet I got charged in the first day of trial for a whole year. This is misleading and not acceptable, I already called apple and requested a refund let’s see if I get my money back

Revues. I love this app and it is really good and it seems to have been better than it has to be the same thing as the other one or the other one

Billing issues. I’m just writing this review after all of the comments about billing issues, to everyone who has written saying you’ve been charged without your knowledge and it’s a scam app, when you sign up for your free trial it automatically tells you that it will “automatically renew on XX date for XX amount” it is up to YOU to cancel prior to that, you are able to cancel immediately and you will not loose your free trial if your worried about forgetting. Also for anyone billing has caused an issue for you can log in to apple and receive a refund for the purchase. I don’t usually write this sort of stuff but I don’t believe it’s fair this app creator is being called a scam when they have literally done nothing wrong it’s just boomers not understanding technology.

Doesn’t work well for the southern hemisphere. I think the app doesn’t consider the difference between northern and southern hemispheres. I live in Australia and it’s fall here now but the app, despite the location being enabled, suggests it’s the growing period and offers to water some plants every 3 days.

Subscription Catch. I don’t like the automatic subscription that occurred after I trialed it. I believe there should be a notification alerting the customer that their subscription would become current prior to the cut off date. I went in to unsubscribe one day too late. I think it is a fine app, but after trying it out to see what it did I decided that it wasn’t for me. I believe that this automatic sign up is intentionally preying on the assumption that potential customers will forget to unsubscribe in time after they have trialed it. I think this isn’t right. I would like a refund. I feel like I have been somewhat taken advantage of by the manner in which you are getting subscription. The fact that I felt I didn’t get a chance to truly sign up makes me feel quite adverse to the APP. There is a better way to do business. One that is transparent, upfront and confident enough it its product that you don’t have to trick people to get customers.

Not worth the money. I found this to be a waste of money. It’s only correctly identified plants in my garden about half the time. This is despite trying a number of photos of leaves, entire plant, flowers, buds etc. It’s a frustrating experience and I feel not worth the money.

I have MWH Lawns I mow Lawns and I’ve always been asked what kind of plant is this now I have this app it is so much easier to take a photo and it immediately shows me what the plant is I don’t have to guess I don’t have to say to the customer sorry I don’t know I just show the customer the outcome of taking the photo this app is the best app I’ve ever come across from MWH

Sailor Jim. I have tried to cancel this purchase unsuccessfully. I found the app could not even recognise simple plants like a couple of orchards which I tried it out on as well as another plant. I only downloaded it yesterday and tried to cancel it the same day. I have also received two invoices for the same app? How come.

Location not supported. I recently purchased yearly subscription and to my disappointment it doesn’t provide plant care guidance based on my location as I am based out of Sydney. After struggling a bit with that I tried looking for an option that lets me set my location and then give me watering instructions based on the weather in Sydney but the App doesn’t have a feature to set a location. It would be great to have this added to the App.

Not worth it and not accurate. I was hoping this app would be a great gardening aide but it’s not. When you use the diagnose on any plant it always returns the same three possibilities and none relating to the plant I scanned. Also the watering schedule seems to over water my plants. I used the pot size measuring tool and it had me watering the indoor plants every 3 days! The fertilising schedule it created would kill my plants! It’s good for identifying your plants but that’s about it!

Misleading and inaccurate. AVOID!!!! Scammy billing practices - free trial button is very confusing and I was charged $20. I have had my request for refund declined so will be taking this further. AVOID THIS APP! It misidentifies frequently, is a complete mess to use, and the way they only make the free trial accessible with a yearly subscription is really dodgy. I thought I was getting a trial by subscribing for a week.

50 50. Half the time the app gets it completely wrong. The other half its useful. You have to do your own research to confirm identification. Its cheap so i still use it.

Not accurate. I have had another plant identifier app that was more accurate. I tried to identify a tree and I took 5 photos of the leaves in different places and it told me 5 different trees. None appear correct. Disappointing for the price.

Billing scam. Don't trust. They catch you with a free trial then you can't get out. Even if you purchase subscription (unknowingly) and you cancel - you don't have access to the app even if you paid for the period. Doesn't appear under Apple subscriptions so deregistering is a mission. Seriously?

Amazing. So helpful to keep my plants happy and healthy. I’m not much the gardener type and tend to kill plants but this app has helped me to properly care and actually come to love plants!

Another app which doesn’t show you it costs until you download. In the App Store it says GET. Install to find it has an $80+ subscription model or a free trial which auto places you into that sub at the end. Not great. I’ve had this app for a couple months and it’s not worth the money. Since having it, I’ve thrown out two plants. The app itself has many annoyances in scheduling/re scheduling waterings etc. The only good thing is that it keeps your plants top of mind.

So good for my plants. My plants have never looked better and the extra information and little articles are interesting too

INCORRECT RECOGNITION/MISLEADING COSTS. There is no free tier to this app, which is very misleading. Also, it told me that my St. Paulia/ African Violet, is a Wax Begonia!! They couldn’t be more different. This looked so promising that I’m very disappointed.

Waste of money. I paid $50 for 1 year subscription. It says plant is sick and gives same diagnosis for every plant and does not give the treatment plan. It says contact expert for which I have to pay more money. So what is the $50 for???? Just to tell me my plant is sick???

Enable to diagnose problem. The app just provides a list of possible problems with a plant. It was not able to identify a specific problem like over watering.

Money Grabber. I have a couple plants that had a little issues over winter, so I downloaded this to figure out how to fix the issues and bring them back to life. I got the subscription (free trial and then 8.99 a week. I took pictures for my cactus and my orchid and it only said yellowing leaves for both of them, not really how to care for them or really telling me what’s wrong like in the ad. BUT you can ask an expert for another 24.99 on top of what you pay for subscription… not worth it at all.

Unhappy client. I am very unhappy with this app. First I took two pictures of two different plants, one a hosta and the other unknown but the app incorrectly identified the hosta as a Canna Lily and the second one said it was a thorny vine native to somewhere in Europe. Well I live on Vancouver Island, BC Canada so I don’t think that one is correct either. But further while I was trying to figure out how to use the app I clicked on what I thought was a free trial and it responded by thanking me for my purchase. I don’t even know how much I was charged and there is no place I can find to cancel this app. Very disappointing. Advise other users to be very careful. I do not consider this an honourable app.

Al plant identifier. This app is absolutely amazing, it gives full descriptions as to what it needs to look and stay healthy. I just with it was able to create or include weather it’s best in tropical areas the exact soil conditions and what seasons certain types of plants will need more water or less water especially for outdoor plants in order for the plants to thrive

Fraudulent charges. I am not signed up for any type of auto renew and I have never purchased this subscription to begin with. The company without my permission charged me over 40$ for some type of service.

Marked my Dalmatian as a great dane. App was unable to identify a Dalmatian and incorrectly categorized my German Shepherd as a small white dog that I never heard of.

Bogus App full of lies. Its not free, not even close to free, and they require a credit card or access to your apple pay in order to test it for a pointless brief duration of time. Ignore, delete and use built in plant ID function of YOUR iPHONE CAMERA! Not worth the time to even download.

Not good. Every time I checked it gave me a different plant all of which were wrong.

App is not actually free and isn’t accurate. To get more then one plant diagnosis you have to purchase a subscription to the app and it isn’t even accurate. One of my plants has a contagious fungal infection and I scanned it to see the accuracy and it said it was not contagious so make sure you take it’s diagnosis’s with a grain of salt

No option to cancel subscription. There is no option in the app to cancel the subscription, once we purchase it while we enroll into the app for the first time

Keeps telling me images are too small. I can’t get it to identify a flower of which I have taken 23 photos of - all at different angles = keeps telling me “this photo is too small” and will not proceed. Seriously!!!!! Another app did it immediately!!!!! Disappointing

Don’t bother. Going to delete this app. The add I saw made it look like it shows you how to care for your plants after submitting pictures. Which is true but then you get a pop up that it’s 12.99 to consult the experts about your plant. So I get as far as getting a picture and IDing it but no care suggestions without payment per plant… and this is after the paying the subscription.

Lousy identifier (for me). Just installed this app’s free trial to ID a plant. Tried three times, wrong all three times. Cancelling right now.

Hit or miss. Il n’a pas bien identifié mes plants d’agrumes, clémentine et pamplemousse ont été classés comme lime, et mon plant de cantaloup a été pris pour un concombre… et mon plant de melon d’eau pour une grande capucine. Je ne sais pas à quel point on peut lui faire confiance.

Publicité trompeuse. C’est pas gratuit!

Didn’t work. Didn’t properly identify plants or disease. Kept assigning the wrong identification and saying the plants were healthy when they had an infestation. I tried it in multiple kinds of plants. Wrong every time.

Pay or cannot use. They don’t even give you a couple days or # of tries before you need to sub or pay monthly.

App Gougers! In get rich mode. All of them at 2024 into “get rich” mentality. Fine to pay for an app, bit FOREVER? Claim for a “free” app, but to try it they all want credit card info first. Not a lifetime fee, WEEKLY, monthly, and forever. Let’s buy a BOOK instead, read & have gardening books forever in our expanding plant fun. One time fee, same info.

Scam. This is absolutely scam app, basically only tell you what kind of plan is , but if you want more information you need pay more , unbelievable. It was not like what they advertised. Don’t waste your money!

Same diagnosis for all plants. I’ve used this app close to two years. The first few months I used it pretty frequently until I realized that all the diagnosis are always the same. Which I guess could be true but it doesn’t give any additional info on how to get your plant healthy (unless you pay extra for a “specialist”). At this point I only use this app for identifying plants. Once my paid subscription has ended I won’t be renewing.

Waste of time and money!!!. I think it’s a waste of money I really only download and payed for it to get ideas of what to put into my plants to make them happier, healthier all around. But apparently all you get is a diagnosis, you do not get the help and information to help your plant without paying more money for each time. Also you can take the same picture of the same plant at the same angle basically using the same picture or image and get a different result with this app. That to me is just fake. If you enjoy it and like paying the money for it then that’s you but I will not. It’s a waste of time and money

Incorrect identification. I took 5 pictures of my Astilbe. Close, far, different views, every time it is identified as Swedish Ivy. And each time it tells me the plant is healthy. It’s turning brown & has spider webs. So I moved on to another troubled plant, that is getting woody, leggy, dropping its leaves. Identification was correct, but it said, “congratulations, your plant is healthy!” An obviously dying plant?!! It has other false identifications as well. I’m sorry I paid for this app. I don’t recommend it to anyone. The update didn’t help your app. I’d like a refund.

Refund. I would like to get a refund, I did not want to sign up for the 1 year subscription for $60. Maybe the weekly one for $8 but that’s the worst thing ever to have it automatically sing you up for a $60 subscription when the safest bet for customers is the no auto renew. Please let the customers choose.

DO NOT DOWNLOAD. I downloaded this for a one time use today because a coworker asked me what kind of plant was in our office. Unsure of the answer, I decided to see what I could do to figure it out for her. So here I am, down $59, out my bank account in the hole, and will most likely be charged an overdraft fee all because they claimed it was a 3 day free trial and I was charged for a year long subscription. I had the app for no more than 30 minutes and cancelled my subscription through the Apple settings and then deleted the app. Come to find out I had already been charged and after speaking with Apple support, it doesn’t look like they’ll be refunding me. YALL COULD HAVE AT LEAST CHARGED FOR A 7 DAY TRIAL INSTEAD OF A YEAR. BUNCH OF CON-ARTISTS.

Good for quick identification but not for much more. Price is absolutely outrageous.. Waaaaay too expensive. It’s a very good app in regards to quick, spontaneous, recognition of plants and trees, but the price isn’t worth it. It misidentified a lemon queen helianthus variant as a soybean, 3 other things and didn’t suggest sunflowers at all. If Jeff bezos or the local retired ORDA executive wanted to identify flowers on their nature walks (they fo that too believe it or not) than it’s the app for them. Otherwise 6.99 a week is far too much to pay for this.

Weird. Wanted to identify one plant and it showed a picture that looked like it could be the plant. When I click learn more it gave me a bunch of weird definitions for the name? Like ‘there is a river with this name’, ‘there is a prophet with this name’, ‘there is a village with this name’, ‘there is a character in winx club with this name’.. like who cares? I wanted to know about the plant not the name. Not sure why someone would pay for this app. When I searched for a plant identification app this one popped up and it seemed like it also included a care guide but it didn’t give me any such information. How do cat and dog breeds have anything to do with plants as well? Weird. Deleting the app. So glad I didn’t get swindled out of money like some other reviewers.

worked well for me!!. i have violets that looked halfdead and i couldnt fix it. used diagnose and it told me the problem straigjt away. it also gave me a ton of advice. i honestly didnt believe the plants could be saved any more but they came back to life in like a week. i then tried their water calculator to figure out how much water these violets need and it gave me a schedule. i even set a reminder for it in the app because i get so busy that i forget to water them. for now it works well and my plants look reallly good! now i recommend this app to all my friends who also have problems with plants.

Plant Geek(love). I love this app! In my daily job as a nurseryman, this app is invaluable. Reminds me of water needs based on plant, one of THE most crucial and often most difficult tasks to do correctly. Among the other valuable aspects of this app is the knowledge base about how when and where the plant came from and thrives in which conditions the best. Highly recommend to beginner as well as expert gardeners.

In accurate plant care info and identification. It often does not identify plants correctly. There are also a lot of common types that are not listed. The worse though is that a lot of the guidelines that they tell you to keep the plants happy (humidity levels, soil needs, fertilizing, light needs etc. are wrong and have actually harmed my plants because I was following them. It is however a really great app for being able to track when you did fertilizing watering repotting etc. for each plant and set reminders

Annoying. Tried to use a picture I had, and it told me the image was too small. What?? Put it through a different plant ID app and it worked. Don’t allow camera roll access if you are going to have such restrictions. I’m probably using a pic from my camera roll because I’m not near the plant anymore. So if the image is “too small” whats my recourse? Moreover, the shameless promo for your premium is too much. After one use an ad for it comes up and takes up the whole screen. Then in the app it’s all over as well. We get it. Premium is an option. You don’t need to shove it down people’s throats continuously.

DO NOT WATSE YOUR MONEY. WASTE OF MONEY- app does not properly identify ANYTHING. Apparently all my different species are ALL THE SAME, some of my plants died when the app told me they were fine. I don’t understand how a Christmas cactus plant is the same as a lily and the same as lavender, I have many many different plants and this app says they’re all the same. I got the app bc some of these plants where passed down and they really meant a lot and they died. App is inaccurate and a total waste of my money. I stopped using it once I realized that the app identified all my plants as the same species. Honestly do not spend your money on this app. It’s technology is just not there.

Love this app, but one request!. I adore this app, i love the watering reminders and all the suggestions on how to take care of specific plants, but i have ONE REQUEST- Mammillopsis senilis (a type of cactus) isn’t on the “add to my plants” or on the search bar. I’d love to see it on there, if you could look into adding it, that would be great! Thanks so much

Do not purchase subscription or download. This is an awful app that requires me to reboot it 5 times before it actually works. When i mean works, it operates for about 5 seconds before freezing up and having to be rebooted. So the operating experience is awful. Now here comes the really AWFUL PART, they charge you 7$ A WEEK to use the worst operating app of all time, and when you contact them to cancel your subscription they dont cancel it, so you end up having to go to apple to solve your issue, and youve already lost 70$ like me at that point for an absolutely atrocious app.

You have to be really careful with this application. I wanted to know what one single plant was. I downloaded this app after reading the reviews. I thought I’ll just be really careful. I’m glad I was. First I hit the take a picture it offered a free trial. I didn’t push the little button over thinking i wouldn’t have to pay and there would be no chance of me getting charged. Next page it took me to was wanting me to pay for a full year. I exited out of the app really quick after that. Pay attention because it will get you if you don’t.

Not a happy camper with plantum. This plant identifier does not do all it suggests after you secure yearly subscription. Yesterday I brought my plant in so that it wouldn’t die from cold exposure. Some of the leaves were torn and chewed and had some fungus on the base. I took quite a few pics and it gave me the wrong plant id several times. Waited til this morning and it identified my plant correctly, but it prompted me to ask experts how to treat it for additional $9.99/consultation. It was to my understanding that after securing a subscription, it gives you that info automatically if your plant is sick. Not happy about this.

Paid $60 for something I used 5/6 times. I was unaware that I would be charged so much money , it doesn’t seem like a lot but I have been tight on money since you know(the pandemic and all) I saw someone else had this problem, and I tagged along emailing support as well to see what could be done, but no message back. Turns out they want you to pay. I don’t understand how this app has so many great reviews when it fails to mention you can’t scan or identify plants without paying for a subscription. When you click the identify or scan button, it shows you some stock house photo instead of the real plants in front of you and only gives you one option - to save that stock photo as “your plant”. Perhaps I’m not using it correctly, but after playing around for quite a while, I’m disappointed.

No. So I’ve been trying to figure out what kind of dog I have. Seen this app and gave it a try. My dog went from being a Musa, a Suillus Luteus, Platycerium Bifurcatum, etc (those are plants/fungi btw), to a chihuahua, a French bulldog, a pug, a poodle, an Irish wolfhound, etc. So, you take a picture under the dog setting, it gives you a plant. Then you click on not a plant and it wants you to choose whether it’s a cat or dog (it should know, right?) and then it gives you a hundred different breeds wanting you to learn what it may/could be. This app could have potential, but it’s far from it. If you’re trying to figure out what’s poison ivy/oak, stay away from this app and use google.

Broken app. I’ve had the app for about 2 weeks and then suddenly it logged me out. When I tried to log back in it took my information and then crashed. I’ve tried to open it several times but it just keeps crashing. It also mislabeled poisonous plants as safe, gave me two different plants when I took a picture of the same plant twice, and has limited slots available for saving plants to your file unless you pay to have more. My google home assistant does everything this app is supposed to do without the crashing so I don’t think I’ll be keeping the app.

Helpful and knowledgeable. This a great app for identifying plants and knowing how to properly care for all those beautiful indoor and outdoor plants. Plants are not cheap and unfortunately I've killed more than my fair share because of stupid things like forgetting to water them. As busy as people are these days it's wonderful to be notified when your plant might be thirsty and in need of a drink!

Frustrated. I was excited, at first when I started the free 3 day trial. But, on the second day,disillusioned, I attempted to cancel and could not locate the cancel area/tab. So I sent a message to “contact us.” I asked to cancel, but got no response! On the day after my 24 hour time limit-to cancel, I easily found the cancel tab. I may have to deal with this through my Bank!

Excellent IDs. This is the first app I’ve found that was able to accurately identify all of my plants, minus the hybrid ones. But it got a close match. The IDs along with reminders and ability to track repotting and health with pictures made the Premium worthwhile. I brought home one plant that seemed in dire shape and actually tried out the Consultation feature, which was surprisingly detailed and helpful.

Satisfied. I’ve been looking and trying different apps for my plants. Sometimes it gives me the wrong plant name and diagnosis. This one popped up on my Instagram page. Checked it out. Read the reviews. Downloaded it. Scanned my plants, gave me the correct name and problem. I’m loving the reminders. I also purchased it at half off. Thank goodness this one popped up. I removed the other apps that I had downloaded.

Useless subscription. I paid the $40. When I take a photo of what’s wrong, it tells me either I need more or less of sun,more or less water, improve soil, or have some pest. It doesn’t tell me what to do to improve. So I measured all my pots and it wants me to overwater. I had water all over my floor. This is for my house plants I already kept healthy for years and know how to water based on just feeling the soil with my finger. Please improve to app to reflect the commercial. It’s false advertising. It does have “ask the experts” so you can pay $12 per question

Misleading FREE app. It is NOT FREE! It sounds like it is at first until you hit continue, again and again (you have no choice) and finally, it asks you to subscribe. You have absolutely no choice of, not now, or a way to X out of it. I tried doing several things to trick it into another page but all in vain. That’s ok. I’ll stick to my other free apps. Sure, they ask you to subscribe to get “better” information but at least they give you the basics which is all I really need. I don’t like companies that try to trick you or mislead you. Wastes time!!

This is better then anyone could expect!. I cannot believe how incredible this app is. It is everything I used to wish in an app when I used to landscape . All of its wonderfulness for free! But, I am going to buy the premium version when I get paid, to show my appreciation and because I know it is already worth the cost. Thank you.

Not effective. I had a tomato plant that had bike in leaves. I tried 10 times to take a picture to identify it as a a tomato plant, and it kept identifying it as different plant, some not even close. Finally when I showed a tomato in the shot. It identified it as a tomatillo , I tried several more times with tomato in the shot and it never gave me correct plant. I Also tried it on another plant that I know and if identified it wrong as well. And if gives Several Options as being wrong and it gave no natural Alternatives as other app do. I’m trying not to use pesticides. Very unhappy with this product.

Love/hate this app. I would love to give this app 5 stars, it does just about everything I need from identification down to how to care and feed for the plants around my house. BUT... I just upgraded my phone and the app forgot all of the things I had added to and done in the My Plants section. This is not just about total data loss, the app remembered all of the things I've taken photos of over the last few months, it just forgot all of the reminders I had set AND ALL OF MY JOURNAL ENTRIES!

Seems like a huge gamble.. I tried it out with my Vizsla. App thought she was a mushroom. I clicked that, no, she is actually a dog. It gave a list of common breeds, all that I can recognize easily without an app (seriously: poodle, French bulldog, husky level of common breeds), but none of which was a Vizsla. I thought I’d give one more chance by putting in a variety of photos, but after going to the trouble of uploading, it didn’t allow me to even see the results without agreeing to the trial period after which I need to go into Apple settings to cancel or be charged for an app that can’t even tell a dog from a fungi. No thank you. Probably should give a bit more risk free of a trial if they want me to bother with cancellation.

Disappointed. I have learned pretty quickly that there is a reason this app doesn’t have a free trial. It is decent at identifying plants but is super generic when it comes to identifying what is making a plant unhealthy. I have had it identify a few plants as unhealthy and every time it just says the problem is “abiotic” and provides a list of possibilities.

More info abt plants pls (propagation info esp.). I wish you would give more information about the plant and how to care for the plant. I would love to know if they are annuals/perennials? Do they bloom more than once? also can you propagate them / how to do it (would be awesome!!!). The identify feature is incredible but I ALWAYS have to then google more information about the plant. Would be so cool if it was already on the app or if you provided links. ◡̈ otherwise I love this app and the ID feature makes it totally worth it.

Not worth $60.. This app isn’t worth $60 in my opinion. Once you take the photo other user’s images appear with a brief description of the flower or plant. If you want additional info the app re-directs you to internet sites like wikepedia, for example. I believe this is lazy on their part as they should have all the info on the app. Not worth the $60 and not subscribing.

Couldn’t identify many of my plants. I got this hoping to make sure the plants I had were carried for the right way. I tried snapping some of my plants for it to identify for me to get exact care instructions and they couldn’t identify some of my simplest plants such as strawberry plants and hollyhocks. The ones that it did identify When troubleshooting them gave a wide variety of options, it could be and no real cures like it shows in the video such as add Coke or add turmeric, etc. I was very disappointed and I paid for a subscription and it is pretty much useless

Misrepresentation of free-misc in app charges not provided/ identified. I was so excited when I purchased this app for a year. Then came invalid charges, to date they are unable to advise what the service or goods are for inapp charges. Example- purchased one year, then another charge following right afterwards for premium. Then , 6.99 twice monthly for no additional use or device/ product. $90 later I still don’t know what they are for (Apple did remove up to 60 days). So, beware- this is not a free app, and additional charges on top of yearly subscription.

Do Not Agee To the “Free” Subscription but if you did. I gave it Five Stars just so you can see but we only wanted to use it once. It automatically subscribed you to the ANNUAL payment for $50. So to save the majority of that mistake, go to settings on your iPhone. Search Subscriptions. And change your subscription to Weekly for $7.99. THEN cancel. This will mean they will refund you $42. Major sure to CANCEL in red immediately and you won’t be stuck with a yearly subscription. Do not cancel the yearly subscription first. Sign up for weekly, get the return. THEN cancel weekly so you are only charged for a week instead of a year subscription. Easiest solution to the problem.

Clickbait they just want the money. So I want to give a short yet honest review about this app. To be honest it isn’t great and I don’t recommend. I already spend about $100 on flowers every year. I am not going to add $120 just so an app could tell me how to fix my plant. I can get someone to do that for 50 bucks. To add on, it’s click bait. It says “we will tell you the steps to take care of your plants” oh really why am I here doing that myself. I have to pick out which disease I see? All negative comments a side, it identifies the plant well not gonna lie. Overall, I don’t highly recommend this app.

It works!. I wasn’t sure how accurate this would be, but I am very pleased. I snapped a bunch of photos of plants that I knew what they were. I had a plant in my garden that I thought was a pepper, but wasn’t sure if it was a weed. This app confirmed it is NOT weed, but a pepper. This app is more than an identifier. It guides you on plant care, diseases eating your plant, etc. I’m impressed.

Dissatisfied. I downloaded this app almost a year ago. The reminders are helpful, but I noticed that if I miss a day (ADHD, I don’t always get to it with reminders) then the list of plant care tasks disappear for that day. They don’t transfer to the next day, so you just have to guess based on last watering. I also am very displeased with their plant ID. Most of my newer or unique plants are never ID-ed correctly or even close to what it is. I’ve even tried inputting the common name as well as the scientific classification & on many of my plants it doesn’t recognize the plant. After about a year of trying I’m calling it a wash & deleting.

Helpful. Very helpful for the garden, naming names of unknown plants and such. Only complaint is that some of the features don’t specify you have to pay for it until you click on it, so you get excited to use it but then realize you would have to pay. Not a big deal at all just annoying sometimes. Overall a great app!

Lot of ads. So, this app works well. I ran around my house like a mad man taking pictures of all my plants. Two things though. There are a lot of pop ups to buy stuff. This is pretty annoying alone but this just adds to it. All the white x’s are on a white background and there small so it’s very hard to see them and press them. Otherwise though it works. Could not recognize common house cactus. This app is a fraud. I showed it a common household cactus – the dog tail cactus M. – and it couldn't identify it. I then gave it the Latin name for this cactus, and it said it didn't have any information on it. Useless. Unfortunately, I subscribe for a year because of all the other relatively positive reviews. I think what people are doing thinking they have one plant and not the correct id. The punitive AI behind this app is either not really a good model or the claim to AI is false. Unfortunately, I paid for a year because I didn't want to pay seven dollars a month. I will be contacting the developer to see if I can unsubscribe without paying for a year.

Terrible. I do bonsai and wanted to see what was growing in the pot of a new tree. I scanned it and thought the result was weird… I scanned some of my trees (that I know the species of) and the results were definitely wrong. Thinking maybe it could’ve just been the certain leaf, I scanned a few more on the same tree. I got multiple different answers that I know are wrong on several trees and several of their leaves. My black bamboo isn’t a southern salwood, my ficus isn’t a llex rotunda, and my oak is lacking the poison it told me it would have… definitely not accurate enough to charge money for…

You have to pay for an expert on top of the subscription!!!. I had a very sick plantAnd I am new to taking care of plants.I downloaded the app to identify and diagnose what was causing my plant to wilt.I paid for the subscription expecting that it would identify a specific problem that cause for my plant to be sick but it identified multiple problems without a solution causing me to pay an extra $10 on top of the subscription I pay for annually For an expert to tell me nothing to help my plant survive. Also, I had to wait 2 to 3 days to hear back from the expert. I am not completely satisfied with this app.

Terrible at IDing plants. I got this to identify plants and it has never once given me a remotely correct identification. Even very unique looking plants like my maranta, my wandering Jew it gives plants that don’t even slightly resemble the plant I scanned. I have a red secret alocasia and scanned it to see what it says and it has on every attempt from every angle identified it as “heartleafed philodendron”… this isn’t even the same color as a philodendron let alone shape… whateva not worth using to ID plants ig. And constantly plagues you to pay an exorbitant price for some more features

Not accurate…. Not an accurate app for plant care. I’ve done better looking things up on the internet. I like the ease of the app overall, but needs some help with plant identification. I don’t have Pro, so I can’t speak to the diagnosis aspect. “Could be…” is not sufficient. When I looked to the light meter for proper plant resting place, the optimal range did not equal what I found elsewhere. It’s too broad, and for some plants, is way off. So I wouldn’t use that as final word. Good concept, double-check other resources before using as prime source of information.

Liked it, but it won’t tell me how to fix my plant.. I downloaded this because my plant has had some problems. When it starts to grow the leaves shrivel up. And so I wanted to figure out what to do about this. But this app seems to think my plant is a tomato. It’s definitely not a tomato. And it wouldn’t tell me what to do in order to help my plant grow. While it would tell me what was wrong it wouldn’t tell me how to fix it.

Needs work -. I tried the app to identify a possible disease in a prickly pear. The app incorrectly identified the plant as a saguaro, multiple pictures and distances used, not all cacti in the ground are saguaro (irony is their logo is a cactus). I figured I’d get expert help so I paid the extra 10 dollars for expert help to diagnose; the expert help apparently is specific for potted house plants as it was questioning on distance from window, misting schedule, type of pot, etc. if it thought my plant was a large saguaro why would it be questioning the type of pot it is in? My experience, the app needs work.

So much potential.. I swear, I have one gripe with this app. Just one. PLEASE give me the ability to group certain plants together. Folders or something. For one or two plants, this app is amazing. But I have tons of plants and it gets overwhelming fast. It’s difficult to find certain plants in the list format. I would love a folder function that would allow me to sort my plants by room, and then list any companions they have in their pot.
