Open up the world-famous Peekaboo Barn, perfect for toddlers.
Inside the little bouncing barn, friendly farm animals are waiting to pop out and surprise your little one. Try and guess who they are; tap the doors to find out! More animals, animations, and sounds than ever.
Work with your child to learn the names of animals and hear the sounds they make. Younger children will love opening the barn doors to find a new animal animation, as they learn about cause and effect and become familiar with animal names and sounds. Older children will enjoy guessing animals by sound, then seeing the animal names, which helps develop early literacy skills.
Multiple Language Features:
We started with a child's voice in English. It's her real voice, which some kids really enjoy, but she does say "wabbit" and "wooster." If this is a concern for you, you can switch to any of 12 adult voices; our adult narrators say everything clearly and perfectly, just like the teachers they are. You can try many languages from around the world—or record your own language, or grandma's voice. There are tons of ways to explore the language of Peekaboo Barn!
Press the Language button on the Options screen to try them out.
—Choose from the built-in narrators: child's voice in young English; adult's voice in American English or Spanish.
—World languages also included: Mandarin, Cantonese, Hindi, Japanese, Swedish, Dutch, Italian, German, French, and UK English.
—Record your own voice: We added this feature so parents, children, and visiting relatives and friends can capture their own voices and star in Peekaboo Barn. Now you can record the animal names in your native language--or grandma's voice, or grandpa's--and, if you're recording a new language, you can save the appropriate written version too, and both will show up the next time you play. (Please note, we can only support the writing systems that are supported by your device.)

minor bug fixes
We’ve loved this app for years. It’s the only thing my kids are allowed to do on my phone. Very educational! Since I updated to the iPhone X, I haven’t been able to exit the app without restarting my phone! Frustrating!
The app is really good and is perfect to distract my son for a few minutes. The reason I am giving it one star is because of the child they used a child voice with a lisp. Kids will begin to imitate the voices and will then, in turn, talk in a lisp as well. They need to redo the speech to have proper pronunciations of words. This is coming from a former teacher who dealt with children with speech problems.
My daughter could play this all day long. We don’t let her, but she could. She’s sitting here right now, and she likes it so much she’s trying to pull my iPad away so she can play more.
There is no true interactivity or creativity to this app. It’s just one tap per page, then you see the animal and its name, hear a typical sound, and hear the name. No options (such as don’t show the name so the child has a chance to say it, or don’t show the spelling). No exploring and getting different results. It’s almost as passive as television. I would never have bought the app if the description had been clear or if it had included a sample video. I bought a peekaboo bundle as my first purchase to amuse a four year old, and I was so disappointed because it was a waste of money. I was fooled by the 4+ age rating, which I now guess is the youngest rating on the Apple store. I think any child over two would be instantly bored by this app. It’s not properly called a game, since the kid has nothing to do.
I’m not sure if the creator of this app knows how useful this app is in speech therapy. I use this with my preschoolers and my students with autism LOVE this app. I use it as a reinforcer! Thanks for helping me get through my sessions!
Because if they had, parents would have asked for kids who can actually pronounce the words to say the animals’ names. That’s my one irritation, but what else is this app teaching them other than animal names? So when they say “seep” instead of “sheep,” I want to throttle someone. Just get a kid that can actually say the names to say them! Is that so hard?! You’re basically teaching them the wrong words.
I'm not sure why people think its cute to use little lids voices to talk on these apps. The pronunciation of the animal names is either hard to discriminate because they are exaggerating the word (pig) or the child has a speech problem (seep for sheep or r distortions). As a speech therapist I feel that true apps are often used to teach vocabulary and every effort should be made to make sure the words are pronounced correctly. Using little kids is just a bad idea.
My three kids have all loved this app at age 18 mo to 3 years old. It's very simple for them to understand and it's a fun and interactive way to practice animal sounds with them! We love peekaboo barn!
I can't imagine this holding interest for long. You touch the screen and barn doors open showing an animal. That's it.
It's just to cute! I would love to show this to my little cousin!
Pronunciation of the words and the voice however needs to be changed. The child's voice may be cute but would prefer my son not to pick it up. Would give this a higher rating if not for that issue.
1 change - to make the voiceover understandable and it would be 5 stars! Such a fun, simple app for small children to play if they love animals. Great pictures and well worth the money. The only issue is the voiceover is by a baby who is hard to understand and doesn't pronouce the names of animals properly! Frustrating as we are trying to teach those animal names to our children. Please replace the voiceover! Besides that my kids love it!
Great concept delivered well, but too short for the price.
Such a shame you changed it. Animals are unrealistic and my child has difficulty knowing what they are. Also the way the children pronounce the names of the animals is terrible. My child copies what they say and it is just incorrect. Had to stop him playing with it. Shame it was a great game.
My 14 month old daughter loves all the peekaboo apps, they are fun, simple to use and creative, highly recommend them! The barn one is especially cute.
Our fifteen month old toddler really enjoys this.
A great app. Simple but effective. Keeps my kids entertained and teaches them to match the sounds to the animals.
I have loved this app for about 9 months. I have been using it with my son since he was 6 mths old to learn the signs, names and sounds of farm animals. I have raved to everyone about it. But this recent change is awful. The animals are not really any longer identifiable as the animal they represent. With the weird eyes they look like some kind of bratz version of animals. The cat for example looks like some kind of alien. My kid has been playing with this app for 9 mths and when it changed he no longer seemed to be able to identify the animals. I don't intend to play it with him anymore because I think it will be confusing now. The books and flash cards and other things we use show clearer representations of animals. Thank you for the great app for the last few months. If you change it back I will continue to use it - but in this format I think it will be more harmful than helpful to his development.
My daughter loves this app. She is 9 months and she quickly learnt when to touch the barn to open it up. This app is polished and of high quality. Worth every cent!
My two year old loves this app! It is very age appropriate and also very cute!!
I hate what you have done to peekaboo barn! What is with those weird eyes?! You've turned the animals into animal "bratz"! I want the original version back!!!
This app is great for babies and now it comes in so many different languages. I'm raising a bilingual baby (not Spanish) and it's hard to find apps that use italian as well as English. I hope all the other night&day apps will soon come in italian as well. Love this app!!
Completely useless crap. Try som QA for pete's sake. Do not give your money to these idiots.
Great game for little ones. My son is 18mo and he really likes all of the peekaboo games, especially barn and fridge. I don't like the peekaboo barn graphics as much as the old ones from the previous version because I feel they are less recognizable as the animals.
Love the app for my grandkids. I like the child's voice but I don't use it because it is baby talk. The words are not pronounced correctly. Please give us a child's voice with correct pronunciation.
My 18 month old loves this app, he know just what to do and loves seeing the animals. We name each animal and practice their sounds. It's great!!
Downloaded this for my 18 month old niece. My friend's 3 year old and 9 month old also love it! My niece keeps tapping (forget tapping just once), but it completes each stage before going on, no matter how much she taps, so it's no problem. I also love that you can select a child or adult speech pattern, and in several languages.
My son loves this app. He gets so excited every time I turn it on. I love that it's helping to teach him animal sounds also
It was fun the first time but when it comes to the options I follow the instructions and it still doesn't open! Fix this glitch so I can change the language!
My 14 month old grandson really enjoys this app. This is one of the first apps he will play with on his own. I'm not sure how long he will play with it since it's pretty basic but, so far, he's enjoyed it for 2 months. It keeps his attention. It's definitely one that I would recommend.
My son started to tab the screen when he was 4 months old not really knowing what he was doing but the app reacted to it and he enjoyed it so much. Now he is 12 months old and controls the iPhone with this app himself and it's his most favourite game!
My 16 month old loves this app, would love some additional animals though and maybe some different music
My 11 month old daughter can't get enough of this app, worth every penny. Would love to see more titles, maybe a zoo or something? Thanks
