Peekaboo Barn Comments & Reviews 2026
I never leave reviews, but this app is great!. My 20 month old loves this app and he plays with it whenever he has the chance! He learns the names of the animals and the fact that kids say the names really grabs his attention. I bought all the peekaboo apps because this one was such a hit!
Fun for years. My 2yearold loves this game. He’s played with it since he was 9m old. At first he just loved seeing the animals. Eventually he would start to make the noises. And now he’s saying the animal names as they appear. Before each animal appears, The barn will “wiggle” and make the animal noise that’s coming up, and I know as he gets older he’ll start to associate that noise with the animal and call it out ahead of time. Tons of learning with this app, and entertaining. This is a nice peaceful app for parents as well :)
Fun and Easy. My 21 month old son loves this app. It's easy for him to play. He has never played with an app or game before and he figured this out after the second time playing. The sounds are fun. We enjoy it together. The child voice is a little creepy. I changed it back to the adult voice, much better. The price is about right too.
Great for younger kids. This is a great app for one year olds and my daughter still loves it at 17 months even though she can do more now. I really wanted to do no screen time til 2 years but then panicked about a plane ride and bought this and the other peekaboo apps. It has been so helpful for flights or events where I cant escape to run her up and down the hall or anything.
I can’t hear myself. I tried to record some languages, but I couldn’t hear myself speaking. It’s like my sound is off, but I have perfect volume so I would like it if you please fix this bug because I want to record languages but I cannot
Good, but.... My 11month old love this app but she also loves to push the main iPhone button which switches back to the main screen and she starts sending texts. Can you put a lock feature on for infants so that only the parents can edit the game?
Too Simple. This app is way too simple even for a two year old. We just started our two year old on apps so it doesn't take much to entertain her yet but this app manages to loose her interest within just a minute. It only does two things, opens two barn doors and shows an animal picture. Toddlers can't read so the words do nothing for them. I wouldn't bother with this game as it really isn't even a game.
Great App. I am an early intervention provider and a teacher of the blind and visually impaired. I have been using this app for years. The only thing is I don’t understand is what happened to it. It used to end with the barn going down and becoming night time and then the animals were sleeping. This does not happen anymore and I do not know how to get a hold of anybody to find out what is wrong.
Fun App For Toddler But Has Issues…. I was having fun using this app with my toddler at first, then we tried adding our own recordings. When I selected his voice recordings, it wouldn’t work, it only made the animal sound. I tried switching all of the options on and off, no luck. It seems to only work with the pre-recorded audio. Bummer, hopefully this can be fixed.
I kid you not...a great distraction app. As a pediatrician, I’m both focused on limiting screen time and getting through an appointment with a fully accessible exam. Honestly, I don’t think this is that far from a book, just with a little engaging minimal animation and sound. This has been my secret power for 15 & 18 m well checks along with distractions for kids up to 30 mos or so for ears/tummy exams when they’re really not having it.
HELP!! Please!!!!. I am having trouble with my app. It closes out on its own when I pull it up. This happens with all of my Peek-A-Boo apps. My students LOVE these and I would love to be using them again. Any suggestions?
Cute app but... This is a very cute app, but I wish the animals' names were being pronounced correctly. The child they have speaking may be cute, but I feel like it's doing the kids a disservice by not saying the names correctly. My 18 month old son does love the animal noises and opening the barn door. It's very cute and he is certainly entertained by it.
Great app with a few issues. This app would be 5 stars if it had a locking feature to actually keep in 15mo IN the app. I've seen this with Zoodles and Kid Mode in the past--parents have to type mm/dd to exit and it keeps those little fingers from pocket dialing or sending jumbled texts. As soon as my daughter realized how to talk to Siri, she's out in two seconds flat and browsing the Internet. Second issue is the baby talk. I know you can fix this in the settings, but it's just not as entertaining hearing an adult in a monotone voice.
My 11 month old LOVES this app. My daughter could play this all day long. We don’t let her, but she could. She’s sitting here right now, and she likes it so much she’s trying to pull my iPad away so she can play more.
Did it change?. I just opened the app for my toddler today after a long while it just cycled through the animals over and over. It used to cycle through once and then would go through a “good night” sequence. It was my daughters favorite— did it get removed??
Doesn’t work correctly anymore. When I first purchased the app it used to cycle through the animals and then say everybody and switch to night and then they were all sleeping and the game was over. It no longer does that, now the animals just repeat. Tried deleting and reinstalling and that didn’t work. Please fix.
Almost perfect. One huge issue.. This app is loved by my 15 month old. The only problem I see with it is the speech. Using kids voices is great, but why the baby talk speech impediment. (Example: rooster is pronounced 'wooster') I honestly won't let him use it much longer as I don't want him to have a speech issue. Fix this and I'll gladly buy any app you make!
Not for ages above 2!. There is no true interactivity or creativity to this app. It’s just one tap per page, then you see the animal and its name, hear a typical sound, and hear the name. No options (such as don’t show the name so the child has a chance to say it, or don’t show the spelling). No exploring and getting different results. It’s almost as passive as television. I would never have bought the app if the description had been clear or if it had included a sample video. I bought a peekaboo bundle as my first purchase to amuse a four year old, and I was so disappointed because it was a waste of money. I was fooled by the 4+ age rating, which I now guess is the youngest rating on the Apple store. I think any child over two would be instantly bored by this app. It’s not properly called a game, since the kid has nothing to do.
Beautiful art and music. I have two children, 3 and 1, who both adore this game. The music is wonderful and the animation is both done. I like that the game is simple; not flashy or annoying at all.
Where are the other languages?. Bought this because it listed other world languages. My child has mandarin in school each day and she wanted apps to play sometimes. But they only list English and Spanish or record your own voice as options. How do you find the other language options I have no clue because the settings page is so short. I wish I didn’t buy the app package before I noticed this issue.
13 month old loves this. My 13 month old has never played on a tablet before, but COVID19 has me desperate for entertainment. This is a simple app with about a dozen animals, but my kid can easily and happily play it a few times through, buying me a precious ten minutes to get some work done. Definitely worth the purchase. I can’t imagine it would entertain a toddler much older than two, but for our purposes it’s exactly what I was looking for.
Best toddler vocab app. My son loves this app. I immediately had to buy the bundle. I love that he cannot be led to another "buy this" or "do that" screen with his crazy 18 month old stabbing at the screen. I love that it reinforces the lessons that we are already teaching him. The little girls voice is kind of annoying but he does not seem to mind. It is so simple that he does not get too frustrated with it. I have been looking for something like this for a long time.
Good distraction app horrible pronunciation of words. The app is really good and is perfect to distract my son for a few minutes. The reason I am giving it one star is because of the child they used a child voice with a lisp. Kids will begin to imitate the voices and will then, in turn, talk in a lisp as well. They need to redo the speech to have proper pronunciations of words. This is coming from a former teacher who dealt with children with speech problems.
Best app for infants and toddlers, with multilingual options!. This app has been my child’s favorite for months now. Today I noticed that there’s also an “options” menu when you first enter the app. This allows you to select different voices and languages, and even has the option to record your own language if the one you want is not available. This is such a wonderfully simple and beautifully designed app with such great educational options!
Parents can’t possibly have reviewed this app. Because if they had, parents would have asked for kids who can actually pronounce the words to say the animals’ names. That’s my one irritation, but what else is this app teaching them other than animal names? So when they say “seep” instead of “sheep,” I want to throttle someone. Just get a kid that can actually say the names to say them! Is that so hard?! You’re basically teaching them the wrong words.
No more sleep?. I truly love this app as it can be engaging even for a six year old. My problem now is the animals no longer sleep at the end. This was an important feature of the app as it helps children know when it is over instead of never ending. Please please please bring back the nighttime. Thanks. Btw I’m happy to rate higher when nightime is back
We can eat out again!!. Restaurant eating with 6 month twins is difficult! Now with this app my kids are occupied for at least 5 minutes giving me enough time to shove a sand
Voices are not good speech models. I'm not sure why people think its cute to use little lids voices to talk on these apps. The pronunciation of the animal names is either hard to discriminate because they are exaggerating the word (pig) or the child has a speech problem (seep for sheep or r distortions). As a speech therapist I feel that true apps are often used to teach vocabulary and every effort should be made to make sure the words are pronounced correctly. Using little kids is just a bad idea.
Interactive and fun for babies. My daughter started playing this game at 7 months, it's so intuitive! She only plays with screens a couple times a week, and at least this is interactive (versus passively watching a show). We do it together and have a great time.
My toddler loves it!. I know that there is much debate over screen time an toddlers, but I have to give my full endorsement of this app. It is wholesome, and age-appropriate for my 19 month old son. He absolutely loves it, and he had learned to say new words, such as "llama" due to this app. We sit down together to play and it is great bonding for us. The music at the beginning is very cute and my son dances to it every time :)
Pretty good, could use more animals. My 2 year old loves this game. The only issue is that it is about 2min of fun then it's done. Having the cycle take longer and more animals would be good. For those looking up parental controls iPhone offers guided access. This is great as I setup all our phones to triple click to unlock and lock guided access.
Simple fun toddler app. Love the app, all of my children have used this so I downloaded for my 2 year old. Works great but so incredibly frustrating that there is NO APP IMAGE. You would think it would be an easy fix uninstall app reinstall etc but it doesn’t fix the problem. Annoyed I paid $2 and don’t have a pic so we can find easily in our App Library. PLEASE UPDATE!
Great app. This is a great app, my 2 year old loves it. But it doesn’t seem to work during connected to my WiFi anymore. It did last week, but now not so much. No other app does this from your bundle. And now the app icon has turned to a “wireframe” version. Please let me know what I can do to resolve this.
My daughter loves this app.!. I recommend this app. I got this for my 1 year old and she loves it. I constantly put this on during our play hours. This app teaches her the name and sound of farm animals. Also teaches her how to go to the next slide.
What happened??? Please fix!. This is one of my kids’ most favorite apps, and it just stopped working. First the app icon disappeared, and then it started crashing before we could even push the play button. I have deleted and reinstalled a few different times, but nothing changed. I see that the last update was a long time ago, but I wanted to share some feedback just in case someone sees it. I hope we can get it fixed!
So charming. I didn't think this classic could get any better but it did. I rarely update my reviews but had to in this case. Hats off to the creators of Peekaboo Barn. My youngest might love it now more than any older siblings did and that is saying a lot!!
App won’t open.. My daughter fell in love with this game after playing it on her cousins tablet. I tried to download it on both my phone and ipad, paid for it on both and the app will not open. I downloaded the free ‘lite’ version and it only has 3 animals and then is done, there’s an option to upgrade but it won’t allow me to. Thankfully it was only $2 but still, I waisted $4 paying for it on two devices and it doesn’t even work. It opens, says peek a boo and then shuts down and goes back to my phone/ipad Home Screen...
Teaches bad pronunciation. My son, a super farm enthusiast, loved this app when he was littler and he still does at times BUT the kids talking on there make him say words wrong. He’s 2, has the vocabulary of a 5 year old and his pronunciation normally is great. Right now he’s arguing with me saying the kids say “Apple bunt” at the end of the app when they say “all of them.” But I had to listen three times to know what they were actually saying. It is bad. So cute to keep them happy for a bit but unless you want your kid saying “roosta” forever, definitely limit this one.
Love This App!. My grandchildren and the children I care for as a nanny just are fascinated with watching and listening to the adorable animals. It is a great distraction at any situation you need little ones to stay occupied. I started introducing this at 6 months of age and found it can keep a child’s attention up to age 5.
The best interactive baby, toddler, preschool app.. My now 12-month-old granddaughter enjoys the animals, as did my grandsons about that age. It also enthralled a 2 year old who was tired of watching her 4 year old brother's preschool graduation ceremony! All ages were able to tap the barn to see the animals. None of the other 'Peekaboo' apps come close to the value of the 'Barn', because of its sweet ending.
Why doesn’t it end anymore??. I love this app but it used to only go for a few minutes, once it cycled through every animal it would have the animals go to sleep. What happened? Now it never ends, it just goes and goes. The goal of the game used to be to get to the sleeping, now there is no closure.
Loved it until it stopped working... now fixed!. Update: It is fixed! THANK YOU, PEEKABOO BARN! This is our favorite again! — Original review: My daughter came to adore this app! But after about two months it suddenly stopped working on both our iPad and my iPhone. It crashes immediately upon opening it. I have tried everything—reinstalling the app, updating iOS—and nothing works. I have tried contacting the developer through its website contact form, twice, but never got any response. Apple says there’s nothing they can do either. I just want Peekaboo Barn to work again—my daughter has various disabilities that make it hard to interact with many apps but she loves this one like no other! Help!
Love It! (Well, my son does, anyway). My eleven month old son loves this game. As I write this, he's cackling away, opening the barn doors and dancing. What impresses me most about this game, or whatever you want to call it, is the ease and intuitive nature of the interface. As I say, my son is eleven months old and has been able to figure this out more or less for himself. As a treat, once every couple of weeks, we're getting more of the titles in this series, but so far, Peekaboo Barn is the one to which he has had the strongest response. I credit it as much to his growing intelligence and inquisitive nature as I do to the developers behind this app in concocting something for even the youngest children. I thought it would be years before I'd be comfortable handing an iPad to my son (and to be frank, I don't like him staring at or playing with screens all day like I do) but when he's threatening to spill the dog's water all over the kitchen floor again, empty out the movie cabinet, or aggressively peruse our breakables, this makes a superb and immersive distraction. Highly recommended!
Love this app!. I have searched for the perfect baby/toddler app for my daughter who has cochlear implants and this one is perfect! I have been trying to find a peekaboo app that says the sound first then shows the animal. Not a lot of apps do this so I give this app 5 stars! It makes a great way for my daughter to practice her listening skills and I absolutely love how I can record my voice so she hears mommy’s voice when it’s time to say what the animal is!
Perfect. This app lets you choose different voices to identify the animals or you can make different recordings of your own voice. I made a recording identifying the animals and my child also recorded her voice once she learned the names. This app is great.
PLEASE fix problem. I've used peekaboo barn for years as part of therapy sessions and highly recommend it to families I work with. Recently it won't end. It just keeps repeating the animals and doesn't go to "goodnight". I deleted it and re-bought it in the package couple days ago and it does the same thing. PLEASE PLEASE HELP
Love but...... This is an awesome app for my 15 month old. It keeps her entertained for more than a couple of minutes. My one issue is the babies/ children speaking on this app. Although they are super cute, they are not speaking the words clearly and/ or pronouncing the words correctly. Rabbit should not sound like "wabbit" especially for a child learning to speak. As a second grade teacher who has had many students who need speech support, I think it is important that my daughter hears the correct language to begin with. Thank you!
We love this app. My only problem with this app is that I wish the animals were a little closer to realistic. Otherwise this is a favorite in our house! We bought it for my daughter when she was 9 months old and at 30 months, it's still a favorite. Her 7 month old brother loves it now too. Awesome way to teach cause and effect.
Awesome!. The genius of this app is in: -the simplicity of the visual presentation -the ability to “wait all day” for the novice/slow processing tempo user to tap to open the action -the purity of the sounds...no fast/frenetic music to distract This app is awesome!
Don’t bother. I downloaded this on my phone for my grandson and it won’t even open. It gets to the title page and disappears. I deleted from my phone and re-downloaded thinking maybe there was a problem with the download, but it still won’t open. I know it’s not my phone because when this app wouldn’t open, I downloaded a different app and it opened without any issues.

My 16 month old son loved this game!. He used to want to play it all the time, choose it over about 10 other games. He has moved on to Where's Gumbo now as his favourite but I have to say, Peekaboo Barn is fantastic. I love the girl's baby voice reading out the animal names - especially "piii-iiig" and "roooter" my son learnt to say a couple of animal names from this! It's a winner - well done!
A delight! Don't miss this.. High praise for this app which is perfect for young children and infants. Absolutely stunning and better than expected. An absolute delight. Thanks so much.
My son loves this app. Pronunciation of the words and the voice however needs to be changed. The child's voice may be cute but would prefer my son not to pick it up. Would give this a higher rating if not for that issue.
Too short. Great concept delivered well, but too short for the price.
Great toddler game. This is a very nice app. My 22 mths love seeing the animals and it has sounds to keep her entertained. It also encourage speech development. Good and educational distraction for toddler. I recommend it to mums of tots.
Entertaining. A great app. Simple but effective. Keeps my kids entertained and teaches them to match the sounds to the animals.
Daughter loves it. My 2 year old loves this app.
Change it back. Such a shame you changed it. Animals are unrealistic and my child has difficulty knowing what they are. Also the way the children pronounce the names of the animals is terrible. My child copies what they say and it is just incorrect. Had to stop him playing with it. Shame it was a great game.
Good. Great game but suddenly stopped working?
Great for 19 month old. Downloaded this for my 19 month old, he loves to hear and copy the animal sounds and copies the names of the animals, not too sure about the Xmas decorations wish there was an option not to show them
More than cause and effect. This is without a doubt our sons favourite app. We have gotten so much from this app in terms of a motivational tool for our son who has special needs. It has helped with discovering about animals, the concept of cause and effect waslearnt thanks to this app and so the list continues. This app also holds our sons attention longer than anything we have previously tried. It's simple, bright, cute, well designed and we love it!
Very cute!. Our fifteen month old toddler really enjoys this.
Love this app. This app has been fantastic for my bub since around 10-11 months. He seems bored with it now after a few months of playing it, but he might get interested again later. Great way of teaching bubs animal names. My bub loves the animals and the music at the start. Now moved onto Old Macdonald app by Duck Duck Moose.
Simple game that really gets their attention!. My 20-month old loves this game, it teaches co-ordination and controlled response, as well as the animals' figures, sounds and names. Really worth while and a good length with quirky ending that he loves :)
Fantastic. My 14 month old daughter loves all the peekaboo apps, they are fun, simple to use and creative, highly recommend them! The barn one is especially cute.
Nicely drawn app. My daughter loved it for a month or so but is bored now she's two. I like the quirky animals and the childs voice is cute. More original than many apps for this age group.
Great. This app is simple but great. 18 month old son loves it.
Very impressed!. Very happy with this app and so is my 9 month old who adores it. The sounds are great, animation is high quality and the speech very cute. The length of the program is just about right too as any longer the kids lose interest. Love the barn party and night scene. 'Shhh there seeping', classic! You won't regret buying this app for the price of a coffee. Keeps adults and kids entertained. Well done developers!
great first app. my son is 18 months old and he loves this app.
Favorite App of my 20 months old. She keeps asking for peekaboo barn from 10 or so other child applications on my iPhone. Would love to see a sequel ie with other animals
Fantastic app!. Fantastic app for the kids. My 2 year old and 4 year ol love it. Very easy for the kids to navigate through the app. Small price to pay to keep the kids quiet when they are really bored and restless. If I could .... I would give it 6 stars! Thanks for a great app!
Great for the littlies. My two year old loves this app! It is very age appropriate and also very cute!!
Fantastic app!. My daughter loves this app. She is 9 months and she quickly learnt when to touch the barn to open it up. This app is polished and of high quality. Worth every cent!
Why did you change it?. I have loved this app for about 9 months. I have been using it with my son since he was 6 mths old to learn the signs, names and sounds of farm animals. I have raved to everyone about it. But this recent change is awful. The animals are not really any longer identifiable as the animal they represent. With the weird eyes they look like some kind of bratz version of animals. The cat for example looks like some kind of alien. My kid has been playing with this app for 9 mths and when it changed he no longer seemed to be able to identify the animals. I don't intend to play it with him anymore because I think it will be confusing now. The books and flash cards and other things we use show clearer representations of animals. Thank you for the great app for the last few months. If you change it back I will continue to use it - but in this format I think it will be more harmful than helpful to his development.
More than just flash cards. My 2 year old loves this app. She lives that it's interactive, the great images and the kids' voices. I love that she's picked up new words. Really great, thanks.
Thumbs up. Wonderful... My 22 month old loves it. Great for speech development.
Buy this!. LOVE this app!! Or should I say my 13 month old loves it! I was amazed at how quickly he worked out what to do, and he's picked up on the animal sounds too. Love it! Thanks!
Ms. Great 1st app for babies, my son 1st played this app at approx 12months til just recently as he has moved into more complete apps now he is nearly 3years old. We loved the farm animal & their sounds and my son learnt very quickly to just tap the screen to open the peek a boo barn door. Love this app.
Wish there were more like this one. Fantastic attention grabber for my 2 year old niece and my 9 month old daughter loves the sounds and she points at the door too! Simple yet brilliant.
Brilliant!!. This app is brilliant! Both my children have loved it. My 16 month old giggles and copies sounds while learning. My 3 year old records his voice and delights in playing the app and hearing himself. It's so simple and also educational. 5 stars!
Awesome. Great game. Great that it also self-closes once complete to prevent over-absorption.
Fantastic. Bought this 4 my one yr old it's the only app he can use himself he was transfixed 4 2 minutes 1st time using it. Giggled the whole time.
Peekaboo Gone. My toddler loved this but now it just doesn't open.........all gone
Best app for babies. I originally bought this for my 2 yr old, he got a little bored of it after a few months. However my 1 year old had really taken to it!! He looks so cute tapping on the barn door to see the animals. So many friends and family have watched in amazement at his proficiency with the game/technology (I do admit it is a little strange to see a baby tapping away at a screen). The child's voice is very cute. I don't think I've ever heard a rabbit make that particular noise, but nonetheless a cute and engaging app for babies.

My Child Loves It!. My 14 month old daughter loves this app! She can't get enough of it. What would be cool is if there were more animals... and that there was the option to loop (in other words never ending) instead of it ending at night time. I have to restart the app frequently for her. Other than that, it is spectacular!
Best kids app!! A+++. Love this app. My kids have all loved this app. I just wish the cat still meowed when the door opened.
Great app, when it doesn't freeze!. My daughter (now 3) loved this app and now she tries to play it for her little brother. I would rate it 5 stars but it keeps freezing on my ipad (iOS6) please fix it!
Beautiful, simple game. My 2 year old loves this game. He has motor delays, and it’s just perfect for him to play independently.
A good start. Both my boys (aged 1 and 2) like this game. It is cute. It doesn't hold their attention for very long though, as it is very repetitive and there is no variation in the animals (other than the order they appear). My suggestions for the game is: -Add more animals with updates -have a couple different animations and audio samples for each animal. My 2 year old gets frustrated by the cute voice because it 'mispronounces' words. It is very cute to hear him correcting the game consantly ("not Roosta - Rooster!") but he ultimately gets frustrated and randomly selecting from a couple different audio wouldn't hurt. -be able to open the barn door by swiping sideways (like photos) as well as tapping. The sideways swipe was my 2 yr old's first instinct and he tried it many times, and it could work well in addition to how it works now. Mostly minor stuff - the bottom line is that you'll get a couple mins max of entertainment out of this one. That may or may not be worth it for you.
Love it. Out 14 month old loves this app--keeps her happy!
Not worth the money for any child over 1. perhaps a 8 month old with good dexterity might enjoy the game
Awesome. My son, now 2, has been playing this since he was 10 months old and just loves it. It has gone from a simple distraction that was simple enough for him to work himself to a learning toy. I'll be getting the other versions too.
Don't like the new splash screen. I'll start by saying, my daughter loves all the peekaboo apps and at the tender age of 18 months, was recognizing and naming the animals. These apps are great! My only complaint - the new splash screen. Adding 3 seconds and an unfamiliar screen during start-up has thrown my daughter. She thinks she has the wrong app and shuts it down. I know it sounds silly, but is this new screen and startup routine really necessary???
Updated: Great stuff. UPDATE: THe app developers are great and listened to their customers. A++ Prounciation issue was fixed + more animals! Best it works on iphone & ipad!! Thank you guys keep up the good work. ----------old review-------- Needs more work, I agree with most of reviewers: 1) pronounciation needs to be fixed, so children pick up the right sounds. 2) this game is short lived. Need twice the animals.
Needs more... Cute, but the entertainment value runs out quickly (like the first 5 minutes). It needs something more - maybe a guessing game, or something else that would help to keep a child interested. As it is now, once you have seen all of the animals nothing else happens to keep your interest.
Great app, there are other voices available. My kid loves the sounds it makes and has been practicing to replicate the animal noises. Some users pointed out how they were disappointed that it’s a child’s voice that pronounced the animals, but there is an option to change it. It’s located in the options menu, under languages. Funny how some parents are trying to teach their kids names, but they themselves don’t know how to look around the app for the options. The fruit doesn’t fall too far from the tree.
Love this app!. I downloaded the Lite version when the little one was fussy and I wanted to distract him while travelling. After a few days, I bought the full app. It's been six months, they've added three more animals. He still gets excited to play it and is still very interested. He now even says 'duck' and 'cat' when he plays. He's been playing it since he's been 4 months old. It's that easy to use. Highly recommend :)
Great app, only wish more user control at end. My 2 year old loves the layout and style of this game, it has cute graphics and very easy to use. The only thing is at the end of the game there is a scene where the animals are sleeping. He smiles at them and wants to see them longer, but it is not user controlled and goes by really quickly and he gets very frustrated at this. Wish the end was user controlled. Another thing is I thought there was a barn party at the end. Maybe a few balloons or something?
Great game!. My 1 year old likes this game. It keeps his attention for a little while. A few suggestions: 1. More animals - more variety means more time be interested in playing with the game 2. Don't allow the barn door to be closed until after the animal name sound file is played in full. Quite often the screen is touched before the full name of the animal is played. All in all it's a great game!
My 8 month son loves this app. Since I showed it to him it intrigued him. He knows now to click on the barn so the animal appears. Only that sometimes he does it too fast and the name of the animal doesn't come out. Love the x-mas theme!
Fixed. Thanks. My son loves this app on the iPad and iPhone.
Fantastic in it's simplicity. My 2 & 3 year olds love it and play it over and over until the battery runs out. Best part - "piiiiiiiiiiig!" Would love updates to add more animals or an editor for my kids to record their own voices for the animal names.
Love the language support!!. I love how they went about the language support- I was able to record the words and names for animals that I want my little clients to know, in the language they speak. It's a very simple game, but it's perfect for keeping little ones busy while waiting for the doctor/ in line, and it supports fine motor control without being to difficult! Gonna check out other apps by this developer for sure!
Fabulous. Love this app! My son started playing this at 8 months old, and it continues to be his favourite five months later. He's obsessed. Worth every dollar!! My go-to when he's fussy.
Amazing. My 14 month old niece LOVES this app!! Hours and hours of entertainment. Was well worth the upgrade (more for my own sanity than her entertainment!) My only upgrade suggestion would be the addition of French! She is being taught both languages and this upgrade would be fantastic for her.
Options Broken. Bought this to use other languages. Seems like the app is broken since no matter if I follow the instructions, the options will not come up and I cannot change the language or record my own audio, etc. Very dissapointed, save your money.
Voice needs to change. Great app minus the horrible pronunciations of the animal names. They should consider at least having a child that can say the animals names correctly... not call it a wabbit.
Brilliant. My 14 month old girl loves this app. She always finds my phone and brings it to me so that I will start the app for her. After I press start she shakes with excitment and pokes the screen until the barn door opens. She then stares at the images for 3 to 10 seconds and touches the screen for more. The person who developed this app is in tune with their inner child. Please write more apps. My mother who didn't even email before, finally saw the beauty of tech when she saw how thrilled her granddaugther was with peekaboo barn. Now mom wants an iphone.
Good app 1 negative. I wish when they say the animal it was an adult saying it, instead of a baby. I bought this app for my child to learn how to say words/animals and I find when the baby says it you cannot always understand each syllable.
Mrs. Great app! We've had it since my daughter was 14 months and its grown with her. She still enjoys it as a 2 year old. The seasonal updates are cute!
Not really worth the money. My toddler likes it but there should be more animals , for the price
Not worth it. My 2yr old sin grew tired of this app very very quickly. There is not much to it but clicking on a barn and trying to figure out what animal is inside by the sound. When you click on the barn you see the animal and a child tells you the animal. A few words the child pronounces the words very poorly. All in all, I wasn't impressed at all. Safe your money!
Love this!!!. Amazing app! Does all the typical animals, has the ability to change the voice, I think the little kid is the cutest and is the most helpful to smaller kids, as they pronounce them the same. Is great as a "slow down" or quiet time game. Would love to rate 4.5 stars as I really wish that it was an all in one app so I could have the other two animal apps (wild and forest) and barn in one place and have like a menu to select which one to go into. I would also love if there was a "peekaboo ocean" and "peekaboo dinosaurs" because then we could cover all the bases of what littles are usually into! Over all AMAZING app!! I recommend it to every one!
disappointed. I’m a Speech-Language Pathologist and I work with preschool aged children (between the ages of birth to school-entry). I bought this app to use with the children on my caseload. I wanted to use it as a listening activity (e.g. listen to the animal sound and figure out what animal it is) then have the child I am working with name the animal before opening the barn door. I am very disappointed with the voices that are naming the animals. The number of sound errors made in the pronunciations provide a poor model for the children on my caseload whom I want to provide clear word models to. With the app as it is, I will not be using it in my therapy. I had hoped this would be a great app that I could recommend to my colleagues, but unfortunately I will not be able to do that.
Junk. Doesn't load... Crashes every time I start the app. Complete waste of money.

Really cute. This is really cute app for my two year old. He actually makes requests for it, which I allow in a pinch. It's no frills, no music, cute narrative voice, really was what I was looking for. I don't think it's five stars because it's a little limited, it goes through the animals, they go to sleep, and that's it. I would like it more if there were more animals.. The mix of Rooster and Chicken, sheep and goat was nice, although advance for my tot.
Record your own voice!. Great app for learning! Only problem I have is: how names of animals are able to be cut off if screen is tapped early.. It definitely should say it straight through and then turn on the option to click. Otherwise, children won't hear the full pronunciation. Small problem but SHOULD be fixed!
Great on airplanes!. This app was a lifesaver on the plane! The illustrations are really great, and for some reason my daughter laughs every time she sees the sheep, which cracks up my husband and 6 year old. After a few rounds, I managed to get her to play the Spanish version- we don't have those down quite yet, but I love that the game is bilingual! Anyway, two thumbs up!
Best there is. I have been looking for an app as good as this for six months. But I still haven't found it. My bb boy still loves it and has started shouting out the names of the animals before they appear. A toddler can't press the "wrong" button. It's not manic. It ends instead of going on forever and ever. And it ends with everybody going to sleep :)
Neat Art - Neat App. The difference between the free version and the full version is about 10 additional animals and two other scenes with all the animals together. You can either go through the sequence of animals like a story or you can endlessly loop the animals. It's a simple well designed piece of software. I like it. The animation and style of the animals are like a kid version of a Charley Harper painting. Neat art - neat app.
More than just pacification.... My son just loves this. And I think the whole thing is just adorable. He's learned how to say Donkey, Sheep, Rooster and Horse, and all of their sounds. That's something I'd been trying to do with books with very little success. (My son is 22 months old). I highly recommend this app to anyone brave enough to hand their kid their iPhone.
Great for younger kids. This is a great app for one year olds and my daughter still loves it at 17 months even though she can do more now. I really wanted to do no screen time til 2 years but then panicked about a plane ride and bought this and the other peekaboo apps. It has been so helpful for flights or events where I cant escape to run her up and down the hall or anything.
one of the better toddler games. We have a lot of kids apps and this is one of the better ones! The animal sounds are good, the kid is cute, and the graphics are good. I would love to have it in French as well! I like how the animals are "rotated" through the program (so you don't always have the dog first, then the cat, then the horse, etc.).
Only 10 Animals? Poor Value. We love the idea of this, and it's done very cute and entertained our daughter for a while so I gave it 3 stars for potential. But ONLY 10 animals for $1.99? You don't list how many animals are included in the full version so I'm warning everyone that will undoubtedly want to know. A future version with at LEAST 25 animals for $1.99 will be more fair, especially considering the quality and play duration other children's iPhone games offer for FREE.
Love it. This app is great for my kids, ages 2 and 3. They love playing it and it can keep them occupied while we are out to dinner for 20 mins at least. They will go through all the animals again and again and love to get to the part where they sleep. Wound love to see more animals. Very cute app.
Wow! Awesome!. I got the trail version first and my 11 month old baby girl was delighted!!! I just had to buy the full version. She's 1 now, and still loves this game. It's amazing to see her little self touching the screen and her eyes lighting up and her laughing at the animals sounds. It keeps her happy and entertained within the room or on the go.
Great app for babies - buys me a few minutes!. This app is great for a baby under 2. My 11 month old loves it, and it buys me a few minutes of time when I need it. There are options for several different voices; I did not care for the toddler's mispronounced words, either (like another reviewer below), so I switched it to an adult's voice.
Suggestions for peekaboo zoo. My 1 year old loves your app but I would like to see some new features. More animals, even though the girl sounds cute a person with better annunciation would help her learning the correct pronunciation of the works and other languages like French.
Absolutely wonderful!. My daughter loves this application! She chooses this over other applications, and loves going through the barn over and over, whether it's in Looped or Regular mode. I have one request/suggestion: make the Settings button smaller and in the corner somewhere. My daughter usually pushes that button instead of the Play button (because she can't read), and she DOESN'T need to go to Settings.
Wonderful App. This app is my one year old's absolute favorite! It is so simple she can play it on her own, building her confidence, and she loves the surprise when she open the barn. Recently she has been repeating the animal names and sounds as well. Thanks for a great product, there are very few which really know how to capture a young toddler's attention.
Every Mom & Nanny should have!. Every child in my life loves to play this app! I've been a nanny for over 10 years and this is one of the few apps that I can count on for consistent entertainment. I use it as an add on to activities, like when the horse is in the barn I have my little one find something brown in the room or find another horse in the playroom. Kids love it!
Must have!. Not a day goes by that my 21 mos old doesn't grab my phone to play this. He's learned how to open the app and turn on the sound, all by himself!! He's learned all the animals. I just got the safari version, I hope he likes that one just as much, can't wait to surprise him with it tomorrow :)
Great!. My 1 year old LOVES this game! Works great for airport travel so I don't have to carry so much stuff now! Love that it has kid voice and the sounds are great! I like that the sequence is not too long, but wish there were a few more animals or another sequence with farmer and animals working on the farm. Overall, really great for the young ones! More apps please!
A great app!. My son has been playing this since he was a few months. I use it to distract him in the car or whereever we are when he gets a little snarky. He loves it. It was awesome to see how my son used this to go from gross motor skills by tapping his whole hand on the screen, to using a finger to tap when appropriate. Thank you Night & Day Studios.
Great for my 13 month old!. The only reasons this does not get 5 stars, are the limited number of animals, and the voices of the kids, while cute, do not pronounce some of the names properly (donkey sounds like doggy, for example). Maybe I should be grateful for this flaw, because I have turned the voices off and I read the names of the animals to my daughter.
Why?. I would rate this five stars for the entertainment it provides. Over and over my toddler plays with this app. The problem I have with it is the choice of a barely intelligible child's voice to name the animals. I am pretty sure my child thinks the way to say "donkey" is "ducky" and "rooster" is "woosta" for examples. We are supposed to teach them with clear examples of speech. Fun, absolutely, but not a great teaching tool.
Marvelous. My 19 month old absolutely loves this game. All he has to do is poke at the barn door and a new animal shows up. It's simple, yet so interactive and entertaining. The barn shakes and inside you can hear an animal. It is fun for my son to guess what it is before he opens up the doors. Well worthi it and the best app we could find for our little guy.
Peakaboo Barn rocks!. Our 11 month old son loves to press the barn and make it open. He squeals with glee at the noises and names of the animals. The english voices are better than the spanish ones, but overall we give it a big thumbs up!! Excellent for pacifying a baby...keep an eye the phone doesn't go to the mouth!
Use your options. Great app! I use it in my 2-3year old special education group all the time! And if you want better articulation use the option link (double tap the button on the intro page), and chose the adult voice. The woman's voice is very clear and has great articulation. I agree, the child's voice is not a good role model (wooster/rooster, evewybody/everybody).
18 Month Old LOVES this. I've downloaded many applications for my daughter who is now 18 months old. This one is her absolute favorite. This application is both fun and educational. My only wish is that they would add more animals. I can't recommend this application more highly for the parents of a toddler.
Love This App!. My grandchildren and the children I care for as a nanny just are fascinated with watching and listening to the adorable animals. It is a great distraction at any situation you need little ones to stay occupied. I started introducing this at 6 months of age and found it can keep a child’s attention up to age 5.
15mo old loves it!. I, like many others, tried the Lite version first but ended up buying the whole pkg! My 15mo son loves playing this game and will only get better at it. He's ever started trying to say the names of the animals! Takes a little practice and examples from mom to get started but they catch on quickly. Defintely worth paying for!
Cute, but broken. So, my 22 month old likes the app, but I have some problems with it: It is very short - only 10 animals; how about a volume control (or work with the volume rocker)?, missing a method to return to the menu without exiting with the home button. Settings change randomly if you enter the setting page. Crashes, even caused me to have to reset the iPhone. Shocking for such a simple app. Very poor quality. I know this is a children's app, but that does not excuse basic QA and app conventions. Not worth $2.
One of our favorites. My daughter loves this app! Even though the children pronounce the animal names incorrectly, my daughter (3) just thinks it's funny and copies them. IE "piiiiig" instead of just "pig". We laugh about it, and she only does it when she's using the app. You can also choose to have the audio completely turned off, OR spoken by an adult (with correct pronunciation) OR in Spanish adult/child More animals would be nice!
My Daughter Loves it!. My Daughter loves this app! She begs to play it and every time she plays it she just laughs and says all the animals! My only complaint is you cant be touching any where else on the screen or it wont shut or open the doors! But She has loved this app since she was about 13 months Old! Well worth the money!
Great for toddlers. We used the 'lite' version of this application at first but my son loved it so much we went ahead and got the full one. He is two and a half. Any time he sees the phone he asks for "cow" and is eagerly learning the names of the other animals. It keeps him happy while I do housework or we're driving. Definitely worth the two dollars.
Love this app.. My 16 month old son LOVED the lite version, so I had to get the full version. It requires only one hand and kept him distracted long enough for me to get all his fingernails trimmed. That's usually a major battle, especially when he's tired (which he always is by the time I get to it). This time it was not painful at all, thanks to Peekaboo Barn!
Great for pre talkers. This was the first app we downloaded for my son at about 12 months- and he still loves it at 18 months! I like that he only has to tap the screen- anywhere, not touch a specific spot, to make things work. I also love the cute kid voices! They used to make him giggle- but I think he's used to them now;). Great app!
My 17 month old can play the iPhone!. He really can. He now repeats the animal names and can identify a couple of them by sight. The only problem occurs when he tries to touch the barn door while another fingeris still on the screen, of course it won't register his tapping finger. But what the freak my baby is playing iPhone games!!
Peekaboo Barn Keeps my Six Month Old Occupied and Happy!. Peekaboo Barn is great! My six month old has learned how to play this game and even knows how to press play so that she can play it over again. She especially likes how I make the animal sounds after the sounds are played in the application. 8-) This game is worth the money, pick it up!
20 month old LOVES this app!. My boy loves this app. He has even begun saying some of the names like he hears in the toddler voice. Usually we loop it to keep the action going. Great way to distract a young one for a good 10 minutes. And the graphics are super cute. I wish the Spanish voice was a younger person, it sounds a little too academic.
From baby to Seniors!. This application is great. First used it with my 20 month old granddaughter and she loves it. Wants to play every time I see her and is great at tapping the screen. Just tried it with my 5 month old granddaughter and she watched the screen while I tapped it. My Mom who is 90 and having memory problems also enjoyed it. I can't wait for them to add more animals.
Fabulous. My son is 14 mos and LOVES this. He calls it ap boo (too cute!) and gets so excited everytime he plays it. It is my favorite tot ap that I've found and I just bought peekaboo wild. I hope it's as cute! This is a simple and perfect ap for children to use and learn about a few common animals. The childs voice brings it down to kid level. Definitely worth the money.
Excellent.. Elegant, well developed application for very young children. I look forward to additional animals being added. The farm we had as a child had turkeys, pigeons, crows, turtles, buzzards, geese, deer, coyotes, racoons opposums, armadillos, etc. In addition to those animals already included in the game. Great look and design. The creators' parents should be very proud!
Needs new child's voice. My 20 month old loves this app, but the toddler mispronounces the names, which is not good. My daughter is in speech therapy and this kills her therapists. I understand that you can switch it to the adult voice, but my daughter loves the kids voice. A great app which has gotten her to say animal sounds, but the child's voice has got to be changed. Please change it!!!
Must buy!. My daughter, who is two, LOVES this app. She has learned the names and sounds of all of the animals!! She has been able to locate it on my iPhone from day one. Due to this app, I have purchased all of the apps by this company. (This is still her favorite!!) More animals would be great.. but the repetition is perfect for learning. Thank you!
The Best game for babies and toddlers!. Bought this when my daugter was six months old. It always made her giggle. Now, six months later she sits quietly and navigates the entire sequence of farm animals. Amazing to see her learn and grow (cause and effect and farm animals and sounds) playing Peekaboo Barn! Still my favorite pick out of about 12 I've downloaded for her!
I can't change a diaper without it. This app has seriously changed my life for the better. It was always a battle with my 10 month old to change is diaper or put on pants without him rolling over. I put on Pecaboo barn, lie him on his back, and I can do anything to him. He loves the app and I can change his diaper without the fight. This app is the greatest thing since sliced bread. Enjoy.
