DragonVale - Breed Dragons Game Reviews

Great, but glitches outta be fixed. I'm going to preface this by saying that I've been playing this game for over fives years now. Recently, I've been finding it difficult to keep up with the amount of dragons that exist. I play during the events, but dozens of dragons keep getting added at a place that I can keep up with. I like that because it keeps the game interesting and allows long term players like me to not get bored by having every dragon and having no room for improvement. That's fine, but it's been growing exponentially which is absolutely ridiculous and impossible to keep up with. Another thing: the rift. I think it's pretty great that there's a new type of dragon and an entirely new "world" for them. However, the amount of food required to level up these dragons is difficult for an experienced player to keep up with, let alone a newbie. I pity the people who just started playing and unlock the rift at level 28 or whatever and are overwhelmed by the new content. That aside, I haven't been able to even open the game for a couple days now. Every time I try, the logo appears, and then I get immediately kicked out of the app. If you guys could address this problem, that would be fantastic.

Awesome game, need to get.. This game = Awesome! It got breeding, it has DRAGONS, it has everything! Once, I had one of my galactic dragons breed one of my other dragons and I randomly got a double rainbow dragon! It’s hilarious, but I like having it around. And I had this game once but I had to get a new I pad :U moving on, It has some cool stuff you might like. So if your a dragon fan and your ready for a total awesome adventure, I recommend this game. Because, It’s fun when you get to see surprises! Also, I have a Tip. If you get a egg but you have no idea what it is, try going to the market and looking at the pedestals. Seriously, I do this all the time. Surprises are fun though. Anyway, thanks for reading, sorry if it doesn’t make sense, I’d like stuff not to be super expensive all the time, and.. I’m not done. I could go on and on, but I’ll say one thing. A clue.. to a dragon. In the game. ‘Color changing wonders, horned beast. Beautiful and thought to be a legend in white drago..’ Figure out what dragon this is and I’ll sorta just reward you with a ‘good job!’ Alrighty I’m done here. 2020 - wear a mask, wash your hands, survive. Yes, survive. One more thing. The complaints about the rift are from people who have reasons. This probably changed. I wish I could speak to the world and tell it what we really need.

Definitely recommend!!. I’ve had this game for around 2 years now, and I love it! It’s so much better than the other dragon games. I’m on like level 48 and I’m pretty satisfied with what I have in my park, I have the kairos, the Gaia, Bahamut, and the other one (I forgot what it’s called). But this is like my all time favorite game and I’m like on it 24/7. The only thing that bothers me is I can’t seem to figure out how to get the enchanted breeding cave thing, it’s like the cave with the big purple gem on the top, cause on the “great nogard’s” park when I visit, it has it and when I search it up in the market under buildings I can’t seem to find it, unless u like dis-continued it but that made me kinda upset but hasn’t affected my thoughts on the game overall 🙂. My suggestion for the game would be some improvements in the rift. Yes it’s a very cool now and different realm, the only thing that bugs me is that each time u breed, the price of ethurium goes up, same with clearing the cloud things. It just bugs me. There also should be more ways to gain etherium, cause I only have around 1,000, and like I’m too broke to do anything besides breed like once or twice and even when I do get ethurium from my dragons, it’s a very little amount, and doesn’t even make a dent in how much I have. But that’s what I think of the game, but I still love it 😊 thanks!

This game is my childhood, but.... I have been playing this game off and on since 2012, and I adore the animations and main concepts. The only issue that has always frustrated me with this game is the need for in-app purchases to fully enjoy it. I have been able to make a fairly decent dragon park without paying any money...but that took me eight years. I guess you could say that this game taught me patience, making me wait for almost every single part of the gameplay, such as breeding dragons, hatching eggs, building habitats, removing trees and rocks, and basically every important part of the game. Yes I understand that breeding should take some time, but making someone wait for 26 hours just to get an egg, then spend like 6 hours hatching it?? The game offers the player to instantly finish whatever they are waiting for, if they pay with gems, a form of currency that is purposely made almost impossible to obtain without spending real money. I understand that the creators need to make money, which is why I suggest making the game cost money to download, and making waiting times significantly lower. I would totally be on board with that, for DragonVale is truly a good game. It is above the quality of other in-app purchase games in so many ways, so why not remove the in-app purchases? I would willingly give the makers my money because I appreciate their game, not because I want to hatch a single dragon egg without having to wait two days.

Love it!. Years and years ago, I had this on my iPad. It was a really fun game! A month ago, I got this on my phone. It’s still a really fun game! I like how you’ve added dragons and fun things like that. When I had this on my iPad though, I got to like level 50 or something before my iPad got lost. Since I had level 50, I had the rift. And can I just say, it was so incredibly fun to breed dragons that were the same, but different. I loved it so much that I wish it didn’t take a level 28 to get the rift. Maybe like a level 22 or something, because it takes a while to level up. You don’t have to do this, it’s just a suggestion. Thank you for reading this, I truly love this game! 😊 Update: My Summoning Circle has been saying that it’s “under maintenance” for the past day! I’m really sad because last time I checked there was a Jet dragon that would be able to summon in about a day, and that dragon is very near and dear to my heart, because I bought gems to buy that dragon last time I had this game. So please please PLEASE fix this! 😩 Update: Thank you for responding Deca! I didn’t know that it really was under maintenance, so thank you for saying so! Adding more isn’t always better. I’ve had many heartwarming feelings when it comes to this game. A feeling of nostalgia. This is DragonVale, the first EVER video game I ever played. I played it on an IPad 2 in 2012 when I was 4 years old. Now I’m 13 years old and I still have the exact same park. Recently since DECA has taken over DragonVale, lots of things have changed, and it’s a little overwhelming. And a lot of the rarity’s of the dragons have changed, because when you add a new rare dragon, it de-values all the other dragons. I remember the sun, moon, and rainbow dragons were so rare, but now in 2021 they're super easy to get. It’s a little annoying and sometimes I wish that I could go back into the 2016 version of this game, but atlas if only I had the powers of Kairos… But anyways if there is one message I could give the developers, it’s that please don’t add TOO much more to this game. Maybe a dragon or two but the DragonVale community is strong for a reason, and it’s because each dragon has value and a place in each players hearts — even though this is just a video game. And a new dragon doesn’t hold that nostalgic emotional value that we all want. Please preserve this game, not overwrite it. - BirdGuy (Please respond to this developers)

Love it, but it could be better.... I’ve been playing for a couple years now, and I love it. I do have a couple suggestions though. It would be really nice if there was a warning of when the runic breeding caves will be leaving. The spring shellebration just ended and I wasn’t able to collect the cumulus dragon that I had been planning on getting. This isn’t the first time this has happened to me, and it’s really irritating when this happens. If not a countdown then maybe when the game gives us the random dragons at the end of the event they could actually be ones on our wishlist instead? I’m just tired of being upset about missing out on a dragon that I basically had. Another suggestion is for the special chests. I think it would be better if we received a different decoration for each chest we open. I’ve had so many repeats it’s ridiculous lol. Honestly it feels like the game is directed towards people who pay to play only sometimes. It’s extremely hard in some events for the people who can’t afford to buy things with real money. One more thing, all but one of my friends on my list has disappeared. I can’t give them gems or treats because they’re simply gone; however, my friends are still able to give me gems and treats. It makes no sense at all that they can give me gifts, but I can’t because they’re invisible on my end. I’ve tried every last possible thing to fix this problem. I’ve even googled options. Nothing is working. Please look into this problem. It’s very frustrating, and it makes me not want to play. Overall this game is super fun! I hope you think about my suggestions and give it a go. I’m sure a lot more people would love it if you did.

Love this game but disappointed!!. I recently found this game and started to play it for a couple months religiously!!!! I had a variety of dragons and I was even at a pretty high level! I’ve grown to love the game I even spent money on this game because of how addictive it is! Haha but just about a week ago I LOST EVERYTHING! My app would not open so I deleted it and re-downloaded it and logged back in to find that everything was gone. I was livid. Even though I was so upset I hung in and restarted due to how much I just love this game and trust me I don’t have much games on my phone so it was surprising to me how much I still wanted to try and start over and continue. So now I’m back to square one and trying to hope that this doesn’t happen again I do truly enjoy the game so it really was a bummer. Every time I want to open the app I have to re-download it because it just won’t let me open it. It’s starting to get frustrating and I’m starting to get irritated because I want to play the game and then I have to re-download it every time for it to work!? Are you serious I don’t have the time for that and if this continues I will no longer play this game. I’ve been putting up with this for a while but it’s really starting to be annoying and honestly sad that y’all haven’t done anything about it I’ve seen lots of comments about this and nothing has been done. Hopefully this gets fixed and I can continue to play the game that I love.🐉💗

BEST GAME EVER. hi dragonvale my names felicity i’ve been playing the game since i was 10ish years old i'm now 18 and still find a lot of interest in the game it holds a special place in my heart and all my friends and family know my dragons are my priority everyday and it’s basically a sin if i forget to check on them. my goal is to collect all 847 dragons i’m 323 dragons into that goal, i would like to recommend being able to trade dragons with your friends on dragonvale there’s a lot of dragons my sister has that i want and a lot that i have that she wants, it would be cool if we could exchange a dragon for a dragon as you would gift a gem to someone but also with a limit as all your other things on the game. i would love for you to give a compliment to the team who puts all the details and characteristics into each and every dragon i'm never disappointed with what i see, i also love the difficulty of the game but i would advise changing the way you limit a lot of things, as a dedicated dragonvaler i would appreciate you taking my information into consideration. I love this game but…. I have played this game for a couple years now. I LOVE IT!! I can’t delete it because I just want it again! I have tried other games set up like this (like dragon city, hay day, merge dragons) but this one will always be #1. But, there are some things that I would like to change. I would really appreciate some new app log-in info (like when you’re waiting for the game to load) because I just keep reading the same thing over and over again. I want something interesting to read while waiting for DV to load. I would also like some other ways to get gems (without paying) because I feel like if I want something really good, I have to save up my gems. I’ve been saving them for a couple months and I only have 200 something gems. Either you could make more ways to get gems or increase the amount of gems you get from chests, gemstone islands, crystalline habitats, etc. Also, a way to chat in-game (with friends) would be nice. I don’t like having to go to a different app (such as Discord or Snapchat) to talk to people in-game. I also have another idea. This one might be a little hard to implement into the game (because of moderation). A world-wide chat room? So you can talk with people all around the world that play DragonVale. You don’t have to do the last one by the way. It’s just something that I thought of that would be nice. I also wish there was more content. Like I am on level 70 something, and still, every time I level up, I am always expecting you guys to show me something new. Even though I know there isn’t. I want my expectation to become reality. Because if you add more content for the higher level people, there would be a reason for us to open the app.

Easy park arranging. Hi backflip studios, I hope your reading this. Overall the game is great. Me and a lot of my frIends really enjoy it and play it just about every day. It’s awesome because it always has new updates and new dragons coming out. My only complaint is that I’ve had this game since I was pretty small and I didn’t organize my park good, now I’m level 45 and don’t have a lot of room to work with. I’m buying new islands to try to organize my park as I’ve re-downloaded the game. If you guys know what clash of clans is, there’s a way to organize your base. You click this button and you choose a base you want to edit and edit it. With DragonVale you cannot do this which makes the park very hard to rearrange. What I was thinking you guys at backflip studios could do which I think would be amazing along with my friends is that you make a rearrangement feature for your park. To try to visualize, maybe when you hit the park edit button there can be an option that says remove all objects or you could even do it by island. When you hit the remove all objects button, the dragons fly into the air and circle the island leaving you habitats and decorations along with paths organize-able. Please consider adding this into you next update as it would be a wonderful edition to the game. I generally love the game and thank you for making it.

Resetting and Tutorial. I would like to be able to reset my uhhh park? (Sorry I haven’t played in a bit) I love these types of games, mostly for the breeding part. But they get kinda boring after awhile. But after a bit I’d love to see all the dragons again! So I re-download the game, and for me I want a fresh start. But when I first get back into the game, all my old stuff is there. I know some people like that, but not me. So, I would like the ability to reset my game. Like the reset button could always be in your settings, or when you first re-download the game a pop up says, “do you want a fresh start?” And if you press yes, “Are you sure?” And if you have rare dragons “ARE YOU SURE??? You have rare dragons that will be deleted forever!” And if you still persist, the game will reset. and getting on to the next topic in my title, (it’s much shorter) after you persisted it would ask, “Do you want the tutorial?” Then if you said yes, you would have a normal tutorial. If you said no, then you would start of with an the state of your park(?) just like how it is after you finish the tutorial. Dragons and all. Then if the player is struggling, (with or without the tutorial) give them a nudge in the right direction. I really like this game and others like it, so this really is my only logical place to complain about the game. Thanks for reading!

LOVE THIS GAME❤️❤️❤️but.... First of all, I have had this game literally all my life (JK, I got it when it first came out). From my knowledge it’s the first dragon breeding game, so that’s big. Also the gameplay and animation style is unique. Another thing is that new dragons come out like every week or a big update like (for example) the rift update comes out like every 2 months, so there’s always something new to enjoy. Now let’s talk about the ‘but...’; it starts with the rift update. I love the fact that breeding is almost instant and the rift alignment stuff, but, there’s this this call Miasmic Ether and you have to clear it to unlock more of the rift. Sounds fair. BUT, it’s not. Let me explain, each time you clear the Miasmic Ether, you need more etherium (currency in the rift) to clear the rest. For example if I clear one cloud for 200 etherium, the next cloud I clear will cost me 225 etherium, and this value NEVER goes down! So by the time you clear ALL the Miasmic Ether, you will end up paying (for example not actually) 1,235,675 etherium. So basically it’s a hopeless grab for money💸. I like the feature that you have to pay more etherium to clear more Miasmic Ether but there should be a way for the value to go down, like,”Everyday the Miasmic Ether cost resets!” Or something. Also I just wanna say, Backflip Studios, if you’re reading this then please fix this problem...I’m done here. P.S. Backflip I have a ton of ideas for dragons so contact me...notice me senpai.

App no longer working after update. I had no issues with launching the app until the most recent update. I restarted my device after, and that didn’t help. Gave it a few days, but it’s still crashing immediately after tapping the app icon. (Edit) Some users may not know what their park id is, which seems to be the only way the developers can resolve this issue.I should know my park id, I’ve been playing the game since 2015. Part of what makes this so awful. This is my go-to game on the days were my brain is moving quicker than I can process. It helps redirect my focus, and relaxes me. Because I’ve been playing since 2015, I don’t want to lose the progress I’ve made. Not that I could restart, or do anything to solve this on my own, to my knowledge. The app crashes immediately after tapping the icon, it doesn’t even attempt to launch the loading screen. In previous yrs when this happen a simple delete, and redownload solved this issue for me. That hasn’t worked this time, and neither has restarting my ipad. I’d never leave a bad review on this app. To be awful, because I love it so much. But it gets frustrating always missing out during seasonal events because the app won’t launch for a prolonged period of time. It’s been at least a month since I’ve been able to play.

Love this game. I actually have had this game for a while and I finally decided to give it a review. I started the game in 2019, and I honestly love it. I love breeding the dragons and seeing what new dragons I could get. I also love designing the islands. Now, I know your probably wondering why I’m giving it four stars if I love it so much. Well, it’s because I recently had a problem with the game that really made me mad. Whenever I would try to open the game, it would just send me back to home screen. At first I was like, “ ok, maybe there’s just a problem with the phone “. So I shutdown my phone and restarted it. Nothing changed. I googled and tried every possible way I could fix the problem to get the game to work. But nothing worked. After about two weeks of the app not opening. I finally decided to just delete the game and re-downloaded it and start all over. I still have the park id to my old park, but I have no idea how to use it to get back my old park. But other than that, I would highly recommend this game. I don’t think I’ve heard this happen to anyone else, but I would highly recommend linking the game to an email or a google account of yours just in case anything does happen. Anyway, I hope you found this review helpful and I hope you enjoy the game if you decide to download it.

Longtime Fan, Hoping To See New Features. I first played DragonVale when it first came out, and have very fond memories of playing it in high school to pass the time between classes. I love many of the dragon designs and concepts added since, and I appreciate the team’s efforts to keep things interesting with seasonal events. The only thing I feel like other similar apps have an advantage over it is more mini games or something to the effect of a competitive element. It’s a really nice idle clicking game, but my favorite part is the track races which you only get limited free plays per day and the gameplay becomes repetitive and/or frustrating. I’m not sure from a development standpoint what kinds of constraints are in place in terms of size/memory usage, but it would be nice to have things to do when you’re waiting for all your timers to tick down. Even if it’s just something ya’ll keep in mind for a potential sequel game. I hate to bring up a “rival” app, but if you could invent gameplay that was more engaging than Dragon Mania Legends, that would rock! That game feels a little more “involved” but I really don’t like staring at that art style at all… the designs in DragonVale are far more pleasant, diverse, and endearing. Overall, DragonVale is always a classic in my books and I would love to see it continue to grow and evolve, even after all these years.

This is about the dragon draw. Most of the aspects of this game are well done and are actually fun, however the new dragon draw feature is agitating and disheartening. After maybe about a month of waiting, missing draws for the dragons I vote for, and even if a dragon comes a long that I do want and I pour the minuscule amount that is given regularly and STILL loose, I started asking questions. I have asked support how to draw really work since they don’t really give a detailed explanation on how to draw works in the game, and they told me the more soul shards you use the better chance you have at winning dragon. This comes off as to me is it’s a pay to win aspect which is very disappointing for this game, I’ve played this game for a long time and I never saw any part of the game as a play to win the game which made it fun for me but with this dragon draw it basically seems like something really tempting is waved in your face but you may only have a chance at winning if you buy shards from the market. You can either wait for a long time and collect five soul shards at time, pour all the ones you have into a draw and still most likely loose, or waste tons of money buying soul shards and dumping them into a draw and still possibly loose. It’s basically punishing the player for even playing, very disappointing and disheartening.

My favourite game for 6 years. I’ve never written a review for any app before, but I’ve played this game for six years and DragonVale easily ranks my top status. First of all, the gameplay mechanic is simple enough — you buy basic dragons from the store and you breed them to create hybrids, and as you level up, you can unlock new dragons. However, Backflip keeps it interesting by adding new updates every week or two, such as new dragons or events in which you earn rewards. The dragons themselves are adorable and unique, and you can feed them treats to increase their levels. I think it would be really cool if in the future, there were an opportunity to interact more with your dragons, such as petting them or playing mini games with them? I definitely have favourite dragons and I would love to be able to build their “friendship” up, or something similar. Additionally, I love the dynamic of the gems — you can purchase additional ones if you need more, but purchasing gems isn’t necessary to the gameplay, as you can obtain them through normal gameplay fairly easily. You can watch ads to receive optional bonuses, but unlike other games, DragonVale doesn’t force them upon you. Backflip continually releases updates that make the gameplay more fun or interesting, and are good at addressing problems - such as balancing the issue of too many eggs to go in the nursery with the addition of a new legendary dragon who brings an extra slot to the nursery. All in all, this game truly deserves a five star rating, and I highly recommend it to anybody considering downloading!

Good, I guess. This is a really good game, and I play it almost every day, but I’m on level 72 and I feel like there’s nowhere left to go. I mean, I have all three legendary dragons, and I’ve unlocked everything. Now when I level up, the only thing that changes is I can build one more habitat. But that’s literally it. Did you guys program this thinking that no one would make it that far, and that’s why there’s nothing new? I mean, I can still participate in the holiday things, like the rift event and the Valentine’s Day event, but there’s no challenge to the game anymore. I really wish you’d make another legendary dragon, that’d be pretty fun. Also, I’m pretty sure the legendary vault dragon has a glitch. If I collect 1,000 abundant essence I can collect all the money, gems, food, and rift currency in my park. However if I collect 10,000 abundant essence and I go onto the legendary vault dragon’s profile, I can choose to “power him up”. I tried this, and it did NOTHING. When I did this I thought it would fill all my habitats to the max and collect the money but it didn’t. In fact, it didn’t even collect the money I DID have. It literally did NOTHING. I did this a second time, just to make sure I was correct in assuming it was malfunctioning and I got the same results as the first time. Please fix this, or at least add a warning to the game saying that powering the vault dragon up won’t do anything. Thanks, I guess.

Ignore those who say it's a money grab. Lots of people are saying that this game is a hopeless money grab. But it's not. It IS possible to get all the way through the game without spending a penny. I'm level 32 (took me a couple years to get that far. Buts it's worth it) and I haven't had to spend ONE CENT. Those who say it's a money grab simply aren't patient. It is possible to earn gems, it just doesn't happen overnight. Gems aren't rewarded to players too often and they are given in small portions, but that doesn't make them impossible to earn. You just have to save up your gems and only spend big portions on special occasions. Not everything takes 24 hours to happen. When clearing trees and rocks, only the biggest ones take 24 hours. When breeding dragons, it only takes 23+ hours when the game knows your gonna get a special egg. When incubating eggs it only takes 23+ hours when the egg is rare or legendary or a galaxy dragon egg. This is why if you own DragonVale, you should probably also get a different game to play while waiting for stuff to happen. The only things you pay for are forms of currency (coins, gems), XP, and dragon treats. And you don't HAVE to buy them! Coins are the one thing NO ONE IN THE WORLD will ever have to buy because you get coins from almost everything. XP, dragon treats, and gems are things people only buy when they aren't patient enough to earn it themselves. So if you think you can't wait a few hours every now and then, you might not wanna get this game unless your ok with spending all your money on things you can earn yourself for free.

What a bummer!!!. I can't even begin to say how bummed I am! I've been playing for over a year, reached a 40+ level, had hundreds of dragons, multiple islands, and WHAM! suddenly I log in and I'm back to level 1!! It's like I never logged in before. I just updated to the new iOS as I usually do but then this. How do I get my status back??? I have no desire to start all over again so this needs to be fixed. From the last reviews I read, it seems others are experiencing the same or worse scenarios. Please get this back where it should be. I loved this game and enjoyed comparing with my grandson who was thrilled his Grandma liked something he liked. I changed my rating to a 5 because you were able to reload my game back where it belonged and my grandson and I have been enjoying comparing our parks for a couple more years now. But suddenly I seem to be a persona non grata again. I updated the Jolly Jamborie and played just fine for about a week then suddenly every time I log in I get kicked out after a few seconds. This has been going on for about 7 weeks now and I'm to the point of total disgust. For the last week I can't even get the game to download to my iPad. It goes to about half then stops. What is really upsetting is I haven't even been able to get to the options page to send a request for help. So here I am having to do it in the App Store in a review! What is going on??

Great Game. This is a great game! I’ve had this for years and am still continuing to grow my park. It is a slow game, it will take a long time to reach level 100, but it is fun to play. The game requires daily checks, but if you miss a few days your park won’t be completely destroyed. Eventually you will get some pretty cool upgrades and it is just so fun to breed dragons! It is so exciting! They have seasonal stuff, so on Christmas, for example, the park will be Christmas themed and there will be snow and Santa’s everywhere. There will be seasonal “money” you get and with it you can buy cool seasonal dragons using the seasonal money instead of gems. Gems are hard to get, you can get them from chests and from the colosseum, and some dragons, and they are what you use to buy most dragons and habitats. You can get gems for real-life dollars, but I wouldn’t recommend it. Personally, I don’t like to buy stuff from the game with my money, feel like it’s just a waste. But that’s just me. Feel free to buy stuff. You get to feed dragons, breed them, collect money from them, and more. Some of them are so cute! There are really rare dragons that are tourist attractions kind of. Super cool. Overall it is a great game and i enjoy playing it so much!

Good game. But need more gems way to little gems I only have like 17 that not enough for anything like if I want to speed up incubation time it want’s me to use almost all the gem’s I tried so hard to collect in all it just takes way to long to get gem’s or earn them not being able to get gems is kinda frustrating I’ve tried doing the goals but in order for me to get 5 gems I have to get a galaxy dragon to get the gems but the galaxy dragons cost gems like how you supposed to complete the goals when you don’t have enough gems to try to complete the goals the only goals I seem to be able to complete are the one’s that just give you dragon cash and food I can’t do the goals for the gems the goals for the gems are just to hard to complete and it upsets me cause I like to get new goals and not be stuck on the same ones but over all the game is great just gems are a lack of recourse to get or earn I feel like if I want more gems then what I got I have to use my money to get more. I don’t mean to sound rude or anything it’s just that I don’t have a lot of money to be able the buy things like gems overall other than that I enjoy playing just wish it was easier to get games especially if you really don’t want to buy them I’m sorry but I feel like buying gems with real money is just not worth it. anyways I hope you like my review if there was an easier way to get gems I wouldn’t have wrote anything about the gem problem I am having a hard time with. Wonderful game, but…. Since reopening my park from 2013 and continuing on, I’ve come to feel that game is becoming too overwhelming. I don’t feel like it is reminiscent enough of the Dragonvale I enjoyed playing for years as a kid, but it has become more of a pay to play game which feels unfulfilling. There are events constantly going on; what used to be fun seasonal treats have become repetitive and boring. There are so many dragons being added constantly, and the designs of these dragons are getting to the point of being overwhelming to look at and unpleasing to the eye. The intricate designs are very impressive along with their animations, but Backflip did such a good job keeping the designs simple but cool looking and overall pleasing to look at, I wish that the design team would study the old designs rather than try to branch off and make Dragonvale look like a mythical RPG. I still love the game, and I understand that DECA will never be Backflip, but I do wish the game was more reminiscent of the old Dragonvale and not as repetitive, overwhelming and different. A sequel game was mentioned in another review, and I think that would be a wonderful idea if both the sequel and the original are able to be kept running. One last specific detail that I’ve had some strong feelings about. The music during the Summer 2021 event sounded more like the inside of an Old Navy commercial than Dragonvale; upbeat EDM music does not belong in a game like this. Please never disgrace this game like that again.

Races..... So don’t get me wrong I have been playing this game when it first came out from striving for one gem every week/month and ever since then everything is pretty cool from the designs to the new legendaries today (even the new “find all pieces of the dragon within the time limit and get enough magic to get it within the time limit” event thing going on currently) but one thing that has really bugged me and other friends of mine who play this game is the races. At first I know you could have a completely different element in the race and still get 1st place almost instantly through a landslide, now I understand the effort in bumping up the difficulty but they are now almost impossible to even match up with the top racer with correct elements. Out of all the times I’ve played it seems like I have about a 40% win rate due to the npc dragon getting a random speed boost and not even being able to catch up at all even while hitting 100% perfect each time. If they don’t have a speed boost however and you still get every hit perfect, you end up neck and neck while most likely still landing in 2nd place. It just seems unfair at this point and with that I have lost motivation to play that mini game to earn the puzzle pieces for the legendary dragon Gia (yes I understand from playing it so long I should have her but never had the luck to win pieces even when I was winning thus drove me towards different goals of getting other exclusive dragons and such) I hope you look at this and maybe tone the impossible difficulty down a bit.

Love it, but…. I absolutely love this game! I’ve been playing on and off for about 10+ years! I remember having my kids collect all my coins when they were toddlers. I’ve recently started playing again and there are so many new elements and clearly years worth of dragons that I have missed. Some events reintroduce dragons and that’s a nice element. Also with the co-op breeding cave some of the dragons I’ve missed over the years can now be bred without an event. With all that being said this game would be 5 stars if the cost of islands and habitats weren’t so ridiculously expensive. Even with the hundreds of dollars I’ve spent the costs of islands are still utterly out of reach. 12 billion for an island is a bit excessive in my opinion and the costs of gems and other treasures aren’t worth it because they don’t go very far. I plan to continue playing this game, but it gets frustrating when you have dragons sitting in the hibernation cave and nowhere to put them. The hibernation cave can now be expanded to house 400 dragons that are not in use. I think that says a lot about the ability to obtain islands and expand livable space for the dragons we breed. The newly introduced rift dragons are confusing to breed, most of the time I’m just winging it. I do love the different dragons and Different elements that have been added. I believe the dragon creativity and quality has not missed a beat. 4/5 stars for me.

It's fun but. This is one of my favorite games, don't get me wrong. I've been playing since 2012 but I had a different iTunes account so I just started again. I have good dragons for level 24 but the game tents, dragon track, and colosseum are all a bit too rigged. The first thing I noticed were the prizes offered to people are completely different in an unfair way. My boyfriend and I play this game everyday. During the game tents he probably gets offered to win a gold chest (without paying 5 gems) almost every other time he plays. I've never been offered it and have wasted over 25 gems since I got the game trying to win a golden chest. He normally gets normal good prizes that are no big deal but the yolkwing dragon during the time it's expired and it's impossible to breed atm. A little unfair. Maybe I would have liked to even been offered that chest and lost, but it's also just my favorite dragon. So about the races, my boyfriend and I (and ppl in the fb group I'm in about this game) never can win them mainly because example: 7 out of the 10 races are for dark type dragons and those are available at level 25, one level above mine. Making it literally impossible to beat the ai bots racing against you because to win you need the right elements. The colosseum I have to say I have the same complaint about, once you become a high enough level as well the dragon track and colosseum become a bit pointless.

Great dragon breeding game!. My favorite dragon breeding game! Dragonvale is the type of game that would stick with me for many years to come since it never feels boring especially when there are always new dragons/combinations to breed. I was skeptical of Dragonvale at first due to its old and cartoonish UI/design, but I gradually came to like it. One of my favorite things about Dragonvale is it’s more simplistic gameplay compared to other games out there. The events are fun for such a game and gems are obtainable pretty quickly through gem exchange which is a nice feature. Each day I wake up, I’m always excited to see what I breed or hatch which is what keeps my interest in Dragonvale. This game is perfect for me especially when I don’t usually have much time for games. The only issue I have is with the ads which can become annoying when you get the ones that are in 3 parts and require you to press “next.” It also changes the orientation of your screen so you would have to close the app and reopen it so that it fixes itself. But other than that, Dragonvale is a great yet simple game and I highly recommend it especially for people who don’t have much time.

Favorite Idle Game. I love almost everything about this game except for a few things. There are important buildings that help out a lot like allowing you to level up dragons extra levels and what not, but they cost a lot of gems which take a while to accumulate or you can spend a good bit of money. I wish when you did the races and you don’t open the one with the gems that their is still a way to get them. I think it should be an even amount of gems like 4-6 and if you pay 2-3 gems you should get it like in a day or week later like an investment. I think that would be awesome if they did that because the buildings and dragons that cost gems are hard to get. I don’t mind the dragons really because those are easy to obtain but I think you should make it easier to get the buildings. Especially for people who do invest their time into this game. There’s also sometimes a problem with ads that when they’re finished your in some super zoomed in stretched view of your park and you gotta restart the game to get it back to normal. I don’t mind the ads because there is hardly any but I don’t like having to restart game. Other than that great game and keep it up! Really hope you do my investment idea with the gems in chest ;)

I love this game. I’ve been playing this game for years, and I’m on a pretty high level. This game was especially fun when I was younger, when I first started playing, because I’ve never played anything like DragonVale before. My only issue is that there’s not much to do now. Besides when there’s events, I don’t really play a lot anymore. Not to mention, there are some other issues such as the miasmic ether. It’s to much, making players get so much of it to free up space in the rift, only to have to get more for the next time they want to do the same thing. Another thing is the race track. Now that I’m a higher level and have more dragons, I thought it’d be easier to get gold. But it’s harder. Not matter what I do, no matter how many dragons I try using, I can’t win a good 95% of the time. Basically, its gotten a lot harder since I’ve gotten more dragons and stuff. At first I thought it was nice, a challenge, but now I wanna give up trying at all. It’s no longer the player and their dragon who determines if they win. You just have to hope the other NPC dragons are bad if you want to get gold. Please fix this. Overall, it’s an amazing game, but it has some extremely noticeable flaws, and it’d be really appreciated if they were fixed.

dont let it get too overwhelming. Ive played since it was on kindlefire. its very special to me. would you be able to make a dragonvale 2 and add the newer dragons and elements there because i sometimes get swayed away from playing because theres too much to do when i open it. i just dont want to see it ruined because it becomes having too many dragons/elements and i feel that a second one would maybe be similar except you continue to add more dragons and elements there. and maybe accounts could carry over so you could vist your other world on dragonvale from dragonvale 2. maybe make it a thing where instead of adding more and more elements, each dragonvale could be like a different chapter where theres more content added but we can still access or view the original stuff somewhat separately. please dont overwhelm new players. and dont screw withe the original elements or add any for that fact unless its in a dragonvale 2 or something. also i am wondering why you bought dragonvale deka. did you buy it to get a solid income or do you actually care about the game. are your plans to make it more cash grabby or prevent a George Lucas. anyway im 18 now so my childhood is basically over, i just dont want to see a beautiful game from it guttered or written over in a bad light. if your goals are more to make money over keeping it a good game then please also still conisder the dragonvale 2 or more idea. sincerely, julian plyter

Amazing game.... But could use some improvements.. This is an absolutely wonderful game. I'm entirely addicted, but a few things could make it better. For one, in the special events, could you make the special dragons cost less roses/iceberries/fireflies/etc? A more reasonable amount, please, that doesn't require you pay actual money in order for it to be feasible. Habitats and decorations shouldn't be so expensive. 10,000,000 DragonCash for one (admittedly cool-looking) rainbow fountains? It's cool, but not that cool. And the Dream Habitat is entirely unreasonable. It only holds two dragons, and you have to pay OVER FIFTY MILLION?! It's just not worth it. Why add the ages of saving money (DragonCash or physical) to the already-frustrating process of getting that dragon in the first place? It makes no sense to me. Finally, I have one suggestion, not related to existing problems. Could it be possible, in a future update, for players to trade dragons? Say you have a BUNCH of Aurora Dragons, all hatchlings. They're lovely creatures, but you're running out of space and cash to build habitats. But, you don't have a Seasonal Dragon. Now, this other player has two Seasonals, but not a single one from the Rainbow element to their name. Wouldn't it be wonderful if you and that other player could swap dragons? They get an Aurora, you get a Seasonal. As long as everyone used common sense, and didn't trade a Level 4 Apocalypse for a Level 9 Plant, it would save lots of hassle as far as breeding, purchasing, and feeding goes. I think an update like this would only add to our gameplay experience.

I have had this game for FOREVER!!!. I love Dragonvale! I have had this game since I was 12! I love all the new features too that came in with the updates too, just everything about the game really. The new dragons are kinda weird, but I’m glad they can always make new ones! It shows their creativity when they constantly create new dragons! That’s another thing I like about this game is the constant new content. Most old games have probably stopped updating by now, but Dragonvale isn’t one of them! I do remember putting in a complaint about pride flags because literally every witch had one, but I think they fixed the issue since there are less of them now. Thank you for that, by the way! I am not hating, since I have friends that are gay. I was just a little upset because of how crazy everything is right now and Dragonvale is my escape since it’s a game that doesn’t bend to peer pressure, y’know? I also realize that the rainbow flags might just be a part of the event right now since it’s near Valentine’s Day. Happy Valentine’s by the way!! Again, this game is my childhood and I am lucky I have never had a major issue with the game. Thank you for bringing so many good memories with this game! Love you guys for your hard work, and have a good Valentine’s!! 💜

Sadly Deleting After Eight Years. I got this game close to when it came out. My girlfriend's family showed me it so I could play with the kids. They were around level 30 when I first started with the mom at 50. Eventually they stopped playing and I kept up every day and eventually made it to level 125, all the islands, all the major decorations, but never all the dragons. I have always been missing anywhere from 3-5 and I've always gotten close. Recently since BackFlip has created more barriers to getting event dragons that can only be solved by paying money I am deciding to quit DragonVale. I really wanted to keep up but I feel like that 3-5 is becoming 10-14 and increasing after every event. The grind to keep up is becoming difficult and unrewarding. After this 2019 Easter event I was on the game five times a day collecting eggs and I still wasn't even close to getting all the event dragons. I am five dragons behind and I feel like I can never catch up. And this is after playing the game so long that finally I feel helpless. The Pokémon Go game gave me a similar feeling where they kept adding barriers to the game and alienated fans until the game died. I hope that doesn't happen for the other fans of this game, but unfortunately for me I will be retiring my park. Thank you BackFlip for the eight years and good luck improving your game.

Make a change. I have put blood, sweat, and tears into this game, yet have been met with disappointment and misery many times at Backflip Studio’s disposal. There are many inconsistencies that are deeply discouraging. To start, the costs of some habitats are simply disdaining. Here I am, meticulously saving up my gems like the hard little worker I am, just to have my hand forced to spend 125 on a single Chrystalline habitat. To get my ROI? 31 weeks it would take, and that is assuming, four 1 gem/ week dragons are in there. That is simply unacceptable. My other option? Sell my brand new Chrystalline dragon. That contradicts my very (and every other Valer’s) goal of attaining every unique dragon, so that is just not a choice. There are no reasons for a habitat to have the staggering price tag of 125 gems. I understand the intent behind inclining Valer’s to purchase gems, and that time is the main antagonist against us Wizards, but to be set back 31 weeks from attaining my gem goal is inexcusable. Dragonvale should reward those who are dedicated to the sport of dragon banging, rather than discouraging us from working hard. I will continue to put my head down and grind, but Backflip Studios must assess their incompetencies before the tipping point comes. It is sooner than they think. Us Valer’s have been far too disappointed for too long.

Favorite game until the new Rift. I've played this game every day for nearly a year now. It's been my favorite mobile game by far. I loved the Rift when it first came out. It was unique and the new dragons were really cool. However, the new Rift is confusing at best, and frustrating at worst. The currency is so hard to get, and you have to spend more than you're getting in order to progress. At least in older updates, you may have needed to spend a little money here and there to get everything you wanted out of it. Now it's like you can't get ANYTHING without having to spend actual money on it. I understand the developers have to make money, but this feels like they're trying to take advantage of their customers' loyalty by making progress impossible without spending money. And what's even more annoying is the fact that I can't even OPEN the game anymore. When the new Rift started, I basically opened the game to get my daily reward, collect my food and money, and then quit. Now the last couple days I can't even do that. So I'm a little annoyed that I had over 200 consecutive days playing this game, and now I'm back to 0 because of these bugs. Before this, I would've given this game 5 stars. If the developers can get things back on track, and make updates and events that aren't filled with bugs and confusing gameplay, I would give it 5 stars again.

App crashes and doesn't recover. I used to love this game and played it every day, even spending a little real money on gems. It’s neat and undeniably cute. Watching the little dragons fly around makes you smile and they’re fun to collect. I downloaded the app again to see if it might be fun to come back… I was… pretty underwhelmed at what had been developed in the past 2-3+ years I had been away. No new themes for islands and just… wasn’t that exciting or appealing in terms of new looking content? And a bunch more stuff and currency to pay for in the store. I’ve shelled out more than I’d care to admit on games in the past but they also had so much new content… I wanted to come back. It’s cute but it just felt like it hadn’t grown from where I left off and I just felt like… why? You guys had such a great start! The park is super cute, the islands the themes, the designing is all fun and cute! The rift is even kinda neat too (although kinda limited in development and use)- but what happened? How is there no new “land” or island themes? Just a bunch of new dragons? I mean kinda neat but it’s been years! I would think there would be a lot more. Hopefully it might still be coming but I’ll wait until there’s something to get excited about and then come back. And the gamble thing isn’t a draw. It doesn’t even make me want to spend money. One dragon? Yawn.

Wonderful Game That Made My Childhood Quite A Bit Better. This game is the definition of what a mobile game for children should be. There are no pop-up ads whatsoever, the visuals are stunning while remaining simplistic, and the concept is easy to understand and master. DragonVale sculpted my childhood, and I’m sure it continues to play an important role in other’s lives as well. I have no complaints about this excellent game. You’ll never run out of things to do in DragonVale, as DECA constantly updates the game with new dragons and events, and you can play the game as much or as little as you would like. As for the actual concept of the game, the mystery of the breeding caves sparks a sense of excitement every time you go to breed a new dragon, and the length of the wait times makes it so that you aren’t stuck checking in with the game every five minutes. Not only that, but the in-game currencies are not obnoxiously difficult to obtain—unlike some games, which lock most of their content behind a “free” gem paywall, the gem system in DragonVale is easy and fair to the player. The dragon species are original and well thought out, and the breeding mechanic allows players to actually obtain the rarer dragons. This game is quite addicting, yet it doesn’t need to have content that will make parents recoil in horror to make it good. There is a multitude of other things I could compliment—the decadent soundtrack, the little details put into every aspect of the game, the fascinating animations of both the dragons and their habitats—but for the sake of the reader, I shall end this review with the following statement: Backflip and DECA have done a great job with this game, and I sincerely hope that it continues to be excellent.

the first and best dragon breeding game. i first found this game about 10 years ago when i was probably 12. it was fun to see all the unique dragons and try to collect them in my dragon park. there were way less dragons back then and less features like the rift and etc but it was one of my favorite games. i don’t even think there were light/dark dragons back then. my excitement when i first randomly bred a rainbow dragon is something i recall fondly. so now, fast forward a decade, i was so glad to see dragonvale still in the app store. i started playing again and it’s been just over 3 months and i have more than 300 dragons. i’m old and big brained now so i looked up breeding guides and other tips and tricks. so, now i am fully equipped to collect every dragon. i’ve enjoyed the events, galaxy breeding, rift mystery eggs, tolzar’s watching ads for gems system, and other new features in the game since coming back. the new dragons and player designed dragons are all pretty cool in my opinion and i’m grateful for DECA games keeping the vale lively since the torch was passed from backflip studios. i enjoy playing dragonvale as much as i did as a young sprout and i think it’s really one of the best breeding/collecting games of all time. dragonvale has kept a simple and achievable system alive even into the era of pay to win. all in all it’s just a huge throwback for me to simpler times. thanks dragonvale! and happy 13th anniversary!

Almost Perfect. I have been playing this game since elementary school. I grew up playing it. I had the light and dark rift dragons when they were both light/dark. I got ovalith in the original event it was offered. I played it when the apocalypse dragon was introduced for the 2012 mayan thing. This game is addictive and has staying power. The dragons mostly look cool and the events are mostly fun. Mostly. They kinda got worse but the 2019 gardenia event looks fantastic. But there’s a few flaws I would like to address 1. Evolved dragons. No one likes them, they are a pain to get, and they stress everyone out. PLEASE quit using these. It just seems like a cash grab. The whole point is to breed dragons, not to evolve them. At least make it possible to get them in co-op if you don’t already have one. I need the corrupticorn! 2. Ghostly Dragons. This is just lazy. You literally reskinned old dragons and they are hard to breed as it’s impossible to tell if it’s gonna be ghostly or not. It also leaves the expectation that you will eventually have ghostly dragons for all the elemental and special ones, which I doubt you’ll do. 3. Races. They suddenly got really hard and even with all perfect you get second place. I get making it a little harder, but it shouldn’t be impossible if you have the right elements.

Abosolutly amazing game!!!. This game is awesome, I almost every part of it from the breeding to the mythic dragons to the habitats and look of the game. It really makes you feel like you accomplished something especially once you get mythic dragons like Tiamat. I do have one thing that could be improved or explained to me... so the racing system is mostly great and I love how it gives you a easier way to get kairos and Gaia but it’s doesn’t make a whole lot of sense. For example I’ll have a level 11 dragon ( all of mine are, for the little ball above their heads) and be racing against a level 1 dragon of the same variety. The level 1 dragon almost always gets a better start like the boost moved up for them, also you go the same speed unless there’s like 6 boosts in a row that you get perfect ( it isn’t actually that hard to get a perfect) and even then they usually win. I’m just saying that a level 11 dragon should go faster than a level one dragon, you should get rewarded for spending gold to feed them. Other than that one thing and maybe the rift substance, which I’ve seen that someone explained the flaw in, this game is amazing, it’s so calming and peaceful there’s no need to feel stressed about anything it’s just a game about breeding dragons and trying to expand your park.

Copy of dragon story?. Ok, to start off I’m just going to say this is a pretty good game. I had tried it before, and had some trouble with the intro, but a week or so ago I made a new island and started over. I like the jam-packed events and the variety of dragons. The cooperative breeding cave is also a pretty unique idea. Now let’s think of other dragon games. I have been playing dragon story for about 6 years now. I am almost at level 100, and have unlocked pretty much everything you can get. I have quite a few dragons, and I can see the similarity between some of the dragons in DS and DragonVale. In a lot of dragon games, actually. I mean, the colosseum looks very similar to the DS battle arena, and the whole rift thing seems to me, in a way, like the magic portal. I can see similarities to other games too. Another storm 8 game, pet shop story, has the visitors who just walk around too. They look very similar to there visitors, and about the same age variety too(older people, kids, teenagers). It’s even similar to the fri ckin My Little Pony app, where if you hold an object for 3 seconds, you go into edit mode. So honestly this game is pretty nice, good concept, well made, but it seems to me like there’s too much similarity. Otherwise I would recommend this game, but honestly DS is way, WAY better. So I would recommend doing your research before you get this game.

Fantastic Game 🤩🤩🤩 WOW!!!. Okay this is a fantastic game with amazing developer support. I got this game back in 2011 when it was brand new on the App Store. I have been playing it ever since then and continues to be my most favorite and most played app. Breeding for and hatching new dragons is always innovative and exciting. Additionally, do not listen to the comments complaining about the Rift prices. While it seems daunting at first, you can slowly build up a good rift that earns you a lot of the etherium quite fast. It is just a different world inside of DragonVale that earns at a rate much slower than standard gold coins. If you spend time hatching dragons in the rift and buying as many habitats as you can, you will start to earn etherium well. Additionally, I made it as far as I have and am currently Level 105 without spending any money until this year. I spent money only for personal enjoyment as they offered surprise dragon eggs to get good dragons you do not currently own. This is a free to play game done right which I have gotten more than my fair share of value from. I really enjoy all the events and they are back to back so you always have something new to work for. Really could not ask for more fun out of a single app in the App Store. Just wow!

Can not get into the game.. I have been playing this game since it came out. They require you to get all the islands, themes, 3 different kinds of dragons (regular, twin and rift version), pedestals, decorations, literally EVERYTHING they come out with. When you do so the game becomes so large that you can no longer open the game to play. The events come out way too often making it impossible to get the new dragons and whatever crazy idea they come up with as far as enhancements or versions. The amount of event currency you can earn and what you need to get the new dragons is no where near each other. They recommend once you do get everything they ask for that you turn everything off or hide it because the game is too large to be played on your cell phone. They came out with a low resolution mode and it does nothing to help this issue. Unless you’re looking to spend lots of $$$ and waste your time trying to breathe fire, this game is not for you. Their customer service is such a joke. Report an issue getting into the game and they ask for your ID number. If you can not get into your park, you can not provide them the ID number. A lot of people have quit playing this game of their own free will and there are thousands more who are completely locked out of our games that want to try to play and can’t. Don’t be another victim. Find a different game through a different company.

Better Than Dragon City (In My Opinion). I really like the graphics and the designs for each dragon. I feel like there should be a way for players up to level 10 to be able to breed gemstone and crystalline dragons as an alternative for some who can’t afford to get those kind of dragons. You guys should make elder versions for the Frostfire, Ironwood, Mirage, Shadow, Blue Fire, Malachite, Plasma, Current, Dodo, Sandstorm dragons, as well as elder forms for the Rift versions of the primary dragons as well. I also would want to see elder forms for some epic dragons like the Rainbow, Apocalypse, Sun, Moon, every Gemstone, and every Chrystalline dragon. Also, you guys should make dragons based off of the Snowflake Dragons but you should call them Autumnleaf Dragons, which they’re basically based off of types of deciduous trees like maples, oaks, ginkgos, ashes, birches, chestnuts, sweet gums, and beeches. The Autumnleaf Dragons should be an epic element and appear in events like Om Of Noms. You guys should make something similar to the rift, but with a prehistoric theme, like for instance, making dragons that resemble dinosaurs from paleoart from the 1930s-the 1960s. I also think that you guys should make a sequel to DragonVale too. The reasoning I like this game better than Dragon City is most of the dragons in this game are really good or cute, while a good deal of the Dragon City dragons have either bad or terrible designs for their dragons. P.S. I hope you guys take DragonVale 2 as a consideration. (And the prehistoric rift thingy too)

Dragon story is not better?. I have played this game and dragon story and all dragon story ever did was ask for my money. There were many things you could only get in the game if you spent a ton of money on gold. There were so many pop ups and I really didn’t want to spend my money on a game I didn’t really even enjoy. DragonVale is better in so many ways. You don’t actually need to spend money to progress, and it is a lot easier to get gems, the equivalent to dragon story gold. It is also extremely hard to progress in dragon story, so much so it gets frustrating. Not sure how people ever though dragon story was better? Many young kids also play dragon story, and I bet many of them have spend hundreds of their parents money on gold so they can progress. Dragon story is very obviously geared towards younger kids. The graphics are colorful and childish, and elements have colors like “green” and “red” instead of the fire or plant elements. The dragonvale lore is also much more compelling than that if dragon story. Dragon story feels like every other dragon game, begging for your money constantly just to progress, but dragon vale feels like someone actually put work into, and it wasn’t just a quick cash grab.

Going downhill. I’ve been playing the game for nearly 5 years, usually logging in 2-3 times daily. It was entertaining and during events I’d often pay $20-30 to buy extras and reward the developers for their work. It’s been nearly two years since I’ve been willing to pay real money toward this game. The changes Hasbro has made, particularly in the last 6 months or so, has begun driving tenured, dedicated players away. Events are nearly back-to-back, there are more limited time items at higher in-game costs, which they are using to try to increase out-of-pocket real money spent by players, and what players need to buy and do in order to “evolve” new dragons have become more complicated. The worst, in my opinion, is the developers and Hasbro do not provide responses to questions by players posted publicly, do not appear to take player feedback into consideration, and do not have a customer service presence on the game’s Facebook page. All of this has led to frustration and feeling the company and developers have lost sight of their customers. A year ago, I would have rated this game 5 stars. Now I had to decide between giving it 2 or 3 stars. If you’re a new player, there will be a lot of content you can’t get to or can’t buy without spending real money. The events will be frustrating for you too. Sorry, Backflip. My time with your game is nearing its end, and my checkbook will no longer open for you.

DragonVale Review. This app is amazing, no lie. It is a really fun app where you can buy, breed, and take care of your dragons. DragonVale is a free app, except for optional purchases. And the optional purchases don’t even cost that much. One thing that I do appreciate is that the game providers help you a lot! At the beginning when you first download the game, they basically tell what the game is about, how it works, etc. Then once you finish reading the prologue, they show you the ropes to it. They teach you where to buy certain items, how to get money and gems, and even really easy things like how to breed just In case you get confused. Then there are things like goals, which once you finish them, you can get prizes, like coins, gems, and level boosts. It is a really fun game and I highly recommend that you get it, ever since I had downloaded the app, I have had no concerns, or problems, or anything similar. Hopefully you have as much fun with the game as I have, and again I am here to remind you that it is the most amazing game ever. This is the best review I have given, since this app is such high quality, and I can guarantee that you will definitely enjoy DragonVale. That is all, goodbye!

Slow it down. I’ve played this game for many many years, and it’s changed a lot: mostly for the better, but there are some annoying changes. (TL;DR at the end) Back in the day, it was a very go-with-the-flow game that you checked on a couple times a day. Now, you have to pay it constant attention or you’ll miss all the new dragons. The fact that there’s always an event going on means that you can’t look away from it for even a day. I’m sure that’s intentional, but it makes the game too busy. I miss the time when events happened only a few times a year rather than being the normal state. The constant release of new dragons makes it nearly impossible to breed ones you don’t already have, especially if they’re only available for a week. The breeding odds also seem to be very unfavorable for these limited dragons. Throughout the whole winter event, I’ve only been able to breed 2 winter dragons successfully despite using level 20 dragons and upgraded breeding centers. I also didn’t manage to breed any of the 1 week dragons. I still enjoy the game, but it’s just too overwhelming. It used to be a relaxing game of patience; now you can’t blink without missing something. There needs to be more time between major events so players can catch up.

Great in almost every way. This game is so beautiful. The visuals are stunning the music is calming and everything just clicks. When you first start out your island is nothing but a farm and some small habitats. But you slowing build more and more, breeding more dragons and buying more habitats. You grow so much to the point you can buy another island then it starts all over on the second island. You start small then slowly grow that island to. The cycle goes on and it never gets boring. There’s so much in this game you just need to dig around whether it’s the crazy amount of dragons you can breed and buy to the crazy decorations and habitats it never gets boring. With the inclusion of events that happen often it never gets boring. Right when you think you did everything some new event or thing comes out and boom the games fresh again. Not to mention you can approach and play this game in any way. Whether your goal is to get as many epic dragons as there are and build a dragon empire or if you want to grow your islands slowing and make you beautiful with decorations and cool dragons, there’s so many ways to play. I do have some small suggestions though. I feel like starting off a new player with a galaxy dragon is a bad idea. Personally I like slowing building my first island but with the galaxy dragon it just farms coins for you and boom you already and a seconded island and a bunch of dragons. Not to mention that some items for example the relic of the epics cost way to much, 1775( I think that’s how much) is way to much and takes forever to get just so I can upgrade my epic dragons 5 more levels? Besides that I love this game. It’s addicting and calmly. 10/10

I love dragon vale... But really, island upgrades?? PLEASE READ!!. Dragon Vale is such an amazing game! It is very fun and exciting breeding and discovering many, many, many different types of dragons (and there is LOTS). It is also cool how there are lots of prizes to be won, lots of events to take part in and many races to win. It’s also very relaxing decorating the island as there are various aesthetic decorations. The only thing is habitat upgrades! I believe they shouldn’t be necessary for the game!! The reason is because once you get to an advanced level, the amount of dragons you can breed becomes bigger and bigger and eventually after buying many of the same habitats it tells you to wait for a few more other levels until you can buy another one or upgrade! Which for me costs about 500 diamonds and I believe it is extremely ridiculous! So the game has become boring since my hatchery is full with no space for dragons which means no breeding! I used to love this game LOTS trust me,,, it gets very addicting but lately it’s been very disappointing!!

I love the rift - the entire game. I’ve been playing DragonVale as far back as I can remember, so long that I’ve lost a lot of friends along the way that no longer play and therefore can’t trade gems with! Just so happens I love the rift and the instant gratification of hatching dragons. Every now and again I will make a purchase from the market - not because I need to but because it’s a way of saying thank you to Backflip studios. Thank you from Australia for making this game so engaging and for making it such a pleasure to check in everyday...just when I have every dragon, there’s a new dragon to breed and the chase is on again.

Crashes too much. Dragon Vale is by far my favourite game ever, including PC games. It's super addictive and very fun, such a great game! The only problem is, which I wouldn't give a 4 star for if it was just a couple times, I quite literally cannot access the game anymore. The crashes have gotten so bad that for several days I have been trying to recover it, but it just simply won't work. Most tech helps and devs will say that it's probably due to lack of storage, but I have 8GB storage free at the moment on a 62GB phone and it still won't open, just sends me back to my home screen every time. I've restarted my phone several times to no avail. If anyone knows how to fix this, please let me know!

Love DragonVale. Hi, I have been playing DragonVale for years and have been able to update every new game segment until lately. Om of Noms is here but I cannot update as the App Store won’t show the upgrade button anymore. Has anyone else had this problem? DragonVale people can you include an upgrade button within the game please as it is said that you have to delete DragonVale and reinstall to force the update on a forum. Surely this cannot be so. Also I love the rift and getting the dragons with added elements is a Clever idea, plus only being allowed to breed at 4 years old. Plus I love the moving eggs it gives you.

Good game, but expensive and time consuming. I do like the game, but I have a lot of issues with it. Pretty much everything you do, you have to wait hours upon hours to get it, or they make you pay ridiculous amounts of gems to get out of it. Compared to this, the ads aren’t even a problem worth it. With the eggs, they only allow you one space to incubate the egg so having to wait until the next day is tedious and doesn’t make me enjoy the game. Either allow multiple free incubation nests at the start of the game or lower the amount of time on the products. Same thing with the buildings. If you want things done at a reasonable rate, you HAVE to pay the game for gems, which is not worth my time or effort.

Great game, but keeps crashing. I love playing DragonVale, my brother and I been playing for years since we were young and we’ve had no issue transferring our parks as we move to new devices. However, in the past year or so, the performance has significantly deteriorated. The gameplay is very laggy and it makes it hard to navigate the game, but it was manageable. More recently however, it’s started crashing regularly, I play for 3 minutes and sometimes can’t even collect from all my habitats before the game crashes. It’s frustrating because I really enjoy playing, especially during events, but the constant crashing has made me lose motivation for a game that was very close to my heart.

Game not working. I’ve always loved this game, but today I’ve tried to log in but it refused me of access. Apparently I have no internet connection but I do I’ve checked, I’ve deleted the app and reinstalled and turn off the wifi and the device but still it refuses access can we please find a solution as I wish to continue, and also my daily gift award is very important to me so I would rather not want to lose that after the crash/bug. The OG of Dragon Breeding Games. Dragonvale was one of the very first games I got when I was little on my mums very first iPhone Wich was literally just called iPhone anyways I was around 5 or 6 at the time when I wanted to play games and just after watching how to train your dragon a year before I was really interested in dragons especially dragon games anyway I wanted to play this one game but u had to pay for it so I couldn’t actually get it so dragonvale was the next choice and I played it from that day forward with my mum and my dragon collection only grew from there I only had a small idea of the concept of the game as I was little but I still remember various moments. After year after year I constantly delete and download the game with months and years of not playing it but I have just gotten back to it now to see how it is. Dragon vale will always be the best dragon breeding game out and has tons of nostalgia for me as well I’m sure lots of u can relate

Needs more regular updates. I used to love this game but it gets very dull now. It needs to be updated much more often. And there needs to be exciting level rewards every level, yes even after level 35. More variety of decorations such as mountains, curved footpaths, lakes, castles and waterfalls. More different sized islands. The dragonarium as it is is very underwhelming - it needs to eventually evolve into an actual island that we can build upon once you’ve collected enough dragons. The dragon quests are boring - they need to be actual adventures or short stories that take the player out of their park and expand the lore of dragonvale, rather than mindless button clicking. Make the gemstone and galaxy islands customisable, adding the ability to build things on a section of it (for a cost of course, and once we’ve hit a certain level). Also, some of the earlier levels have too many features and overwhelm the player. Pace the level rewards better. Island themes don’t have to be purchasable so early on. This game gets a lot right, especially up to level 35, but could be so much better

Waiting to long. I love dragon vale as a game so much but since a while ago I had to start waiting at about 10 minutes for the game to load which I’m not entirely happy about :( I don’t know if it’s a wifi problem but it still does this when I’m connected to other wife connections and use of data! I’m starting to her tried of waiting 10 or sometimes 15 minutes for my game to load! This also happened to my last dragon vale :(

Hi, I have a couple of ideas. DragonVale is a great game although there are stuff that is just way too expensive in the game, and I think a lot of that stuff is a waste of money. I love the game and all but please, more islands. I think that maybe you should create something that doesn’t cost gems to give gems to your friends, and perhaps you should like make something that lets you give eggs to your friends. Also can you make limited time dragons stay for longer. Example: I wanted to get the Chromacorn dragon but it wasn’t there long enough for me to get it. And I think you should also make the speed up for breeding and incubating longer. That’s all Please consider these

New Owners let customers down. The new owners haven’t kept up the standard of events that are expected by long term players. No Valentines event at all. The New Travelling Faire is half the event it used to be. Re using artwork on eggs because they can’t come up with new ones, no daily event prizes, no Tolzars bonus, and half the rewards that used to be on offer to collect every day in an event. Yet still charging the same amount for new dragons which means people will have to pay cash to obtain them. What a let down and for anyone new looking to start this game, I wouldn’t bother now, it’s been a money grab for a while and looks to be getting worse under the new ownership deal.

Great game but may need some tweaking :). I’ve been playing DragonVale for like 6 years now on my new Apple ID and previously 3 years on my old Apple ID and I must say it is a fun game, love the different dragons you can get, how pretty you can make your park, not to mention how easy it is to get rare dragons these days with your cool themed “seasons” like for Halloween and Chrissy where you get like stars or candy corn and can buy dragons with them. I love this game. I would so love to give you 5 stars but I think I’d be able to if when you visit other peoples parks you could gift them something or have a guest book in each park for other visitors to leave a signature saying they were here and note space to say something nice about your park and then with that signature they can visit yours! I think that would be the coolest thing ever!! Plus have it changed so it doesn’t take us to The Great Nogard every single time or to old parks that clearly aren’t used anymore. I wish it were to be a little more interactive with other people around the world. I understand programming and stuff is confusing and may not be possible but I’d give 5 stars if at least we could have friends on there! They visit and think yours is cool and vice versa and you can add each other on there!!

Recent bugs. I've been playing this game for a while (admittedly I did take a break for 2 years because of school commitments) and I love all the new stuff that has appeared since I started playing again. However, after the latest update, everything freezes after about a minute of being in my park, and I have to exist the app completely and go in again in order for it to work again. This makes things very irritating as I can't get what I want done before the game freezes, which takes away some of the enjoyment of playing the game. Other than that, it's fantastic!

Regarding complaints on the rift. I will say it now, I have had this game for a large part of my life and of course still am a daily player. The thing I don’t understand is why everyone hats the rift? Like what’s the hurry to get to the end game you guys gonna die tomorrow or something? The rift is end game content made to drag the game on further and I have no problem with that. But why do people think the rift is ruining the game? Isn’t just because they are impatient it’s a bit unreasonable. The rift benefits us as we are able to instantly breed dragons and hatch eggs that are a limited time only of course it will take effort to unlock this sort of thing The developers don’t want to break the whole point of the game and make it easy to collect every single dragon So to all the rift haters out there just bear with it and eventually you will be pumping out limited time dragons like there is no tomorrow

In app purchases are so expensive. DragonVale is a fun game overall, but breeding the rare dragons are almost impossible! I wasted 35 gems on speeding up the breeding so I could get the moon dragon before it turned Morning. I also wanted high breeding dragons so they could change to their next form but the food I hardly earned disappeared in the blink of an eye, Make it easier to get food for the dragons. The gems cost too much money and take to long to get. DragonVale will be a lot better if they weren’t so hard to get and cost too much money. DragonVale is still a fun game and enjoy playing it, and I love all the little pop ups like the Crystalis Kaleidoscope and Kairos.

Please add a “collect all money” button. I remember when I was very young I was waiting for my mum at the barbershop and there was a dude playing this game, he was very far ahead, heaps of islands and cool dragons. Fast forward to today I have about 5 islands, maybe 6 limited time dragons, and loads of rare hard to breed dragons. The only issue I have is that there is no button to collect all the cash at once. Please please add this. The game is now 10+ years old and still amazing but I’m certain a lot of players will appreciate having a collect all button. I hope there is a bright, never ending future for Dragonvale!! Cheers

An Addition I’d Like To See. I’ve been playing this game for a while, although only level 22. A feature I have not yet seen is a island edit feature. This could be where you are able to pick up habitats and store them, while redesigning your island. This feature would make to where you’d have to place all habitats and building before exciting, with all unplaced decorations being sold. It could be implemented within a new building, costing around 500 gems. It would allow people to have more creativity while creating their personalised islands. Amazing game!

Newest update winter saga. I have been playing this game for about 3 years. The newest updates seems to have major programming flaws. None of the flag people give you ice berries. You can’t collect ice berries from coin collection like usual. There are heaps of dragons I don’t have and won’t be able to purchase with ice berries as their prices are ridiculously high in comparison to how many I can earn. The last two challenges ‘started’ I’m the app and I had to be delayed from doing anything until the offical start date 4 days later. I’m not what’s been happening the last 6 months with programming but I am extremely disappointed about a game I play almost every day.

Get your bugs fixed. The game isn’t letting me on. You tap it and it goes straight out. More bug fixes please. Also, there’s been a lack in progress for over lvl 40 :(. I love the game don’t don’t get me wrong. But this bug has really been bothering me. And now it’s deleted ALL my data. You guys are jerks, because that one little bug you never fixed, I lost everything. My brother had to fix my whole game. Please focus more on fixing these things

Rift used to be good. The rift used to be so good, if he getting at least some rare rift dragon every 2 days; one time it would be the thunderbird dragon the next it would be the kampos dragon. Here I felt like I was accomplishing something however now whenever I breed within the rift I get dragons that don’t even have a rift trait. I don’t know whether this has been deliberately incorporated within the game but if it has it is a ludicrous idea. It makes your loyal fans feel like they aren’t accomplishing anything at all. Also this game is getting quite boring. I know there are constantly events but it’s all the same; collect collect tickets or stardust and buy dragons. Those events have got very repetitive. I suggest add something new to the game (like how you added the rift) and maybe spice up the events. Thanks

One small problem but not enough to take it down a star. I’ve loved dragon vale ever since I downloaded it, you never really get stuck since you get infinite money eventually and breeding is free. The wide variety of dragons you can get makes it so much fun. Except that after the first time, you can’t get diamonds from Nogard because it says he saves his diamonds for new players. This really bugs me because it doesn’t take your diamonds when you gift them to others so it doesn’t make sense, and it wouldn’t be a huge problem to be able to get gems from him. Still really fun and easy to use though!

Test your patience or be prepared to pay a lot of money. I love this game and after few years I am still a daily player. I play twice a day, morning and evening to try to breed different dragons. However I require a lot of pàtience to breeze some of the harder ones and if they are limited, then very likely I will never get them as I refuse to pay up to 150 dollars for gems or whatever element I need (magic, eggs, etc) to get them. If there was a lot more value for money I would be more keen to spend few dollars now and then to get the harder to breed dragons.

You need copious amounts of money now. I have played this for well over 10 years now & I have seen that in 2018, the game has become a money grab. It’s to hard to get the extra dragons in the Events with out spending copious amounts of money. For example, in the current winter festival I’m lucky if I can reach 500 reward berries a day now because of all the the non areas of gaining rewards are removed. There are about 6 new dragons costing at least 12,500 berries each so by the end of the festival I’ll be lucky if I can buy 2. Don’t get me started on the stupid 10 decorations you have to collect to convert a lower dragon in to a rare collectable. There are 5 different decoration types in 10 different colours. About 2 weeks to go in the Event & I only have 1 of each at the moment, sad stuff ☹️ Of course if you want everything above and your wallet has endless money in it you can get everything you want but I’m not that rich. I will see what the start of 2019 brings but a lot of my friends are thinking of dropping Dragonvale after the winter festival ☹️☹️☹️

Glitches & bugs. DragonVale is a great game overall. I enjoy playing it, creating dragons, making my islands pretty etc. but these glitches are so whack they need to be fixed. First off, when I click on the app, it takes 10 years to even load and sometimes it doesn’t even load!! I use nbn, doesn’t work, I use my data, nothing. Secondly, just say I send my dragon to battle, they finish battling and I win coins, xp and gems, I have the choice to watch a video to double the amount, I do so, once the video is finished my literal game glitches so hard it’s like the whole game is stretched so then I have to close and then reopen the app!! Great game honestly, I’ve played this ever since I was a little girl and I’m 19 still playing haha, but the glitches NEED. TO. BE. FIXED.

Races. I love the game but my only complaint is that races have become nearly impossible to win first place in. The only way to come first is to have a special dragon with one of the types, eg: Sunscorch dragon, which is moon, dark and water. Even if you get perfect on every possible chance you still lose to the dragon at the top. I actually lost while using a Sunscorch dragon, that had a type advantage, against a Platinum dragon, which had no type advantage. I understand that the speed boost to the top dragon was probably put in place to make it so prizes were more hard earned, but it has made racing unfair and significantly less fun. The rest of the game is amazing though 💕

I have lost data. I love DragonVale immensely and have been playing the game since there was only a few elements, but recently with new updates I feel I have lost a lot of data, there are dragon eggs for dragons I no longer have, and I know for a fact I would of had to have the dragons before the eggs because I always hatch the first dragon in that type and keep the egg if I happen to breed it a second time, also, when I first came back to the game on my new device (game centre account linked) my galaxy warp was gone, had to wait until level 20 for it to come back (I was on level 19) and all my galaxy dragons were gonna except the one you start with. Now I hadn't spent money on this game at the time but I have recently, and if I lost anything I've paid for I would be very upset. So I'm not sure if this is a bug or what but I mostly would like to know why it just took out some of my dragons but left the eggs? I mean it's obvious you took them as it's been years since I played it last, I had no idea of the dragons I even had, only that voice saying somethings not quite right, something's missing.

Rift traits = irritating. Overall, this is a fantastic game. Everything that’s in it is absolutely awesome - except the rift traits. I know that they’re pretty much impossible to avoid if breeding in the rift, but that’s not the complaint. The complaint is how they end up looking. On some dragons, like the Scorn or Dream dragon, it’s not too noticeable. But on dragons like the Berry and Candescent dragon, it just looks awful. I know there’s not much space to put the effects, but I like to be able to see the dragon. And this can go for the actual rift dragons, sort of. It looks good, but I just think having outlines on the wings and other rifty parts will look just a bit better. (Plus dragons from the rift use way to much food but that’s not really what I’m complaint about) Other than that, awesome game!

Rate 5 star because there is no 10 stars. I am a big gamer and have played so many games but DragonVale is definitely one of the best I have played. It is really fun to play and can bring you a lot of joy with breeding and decorating your island. Also this game does not really require $$$ to play well unlike many other games these days. Everyday I just log on a few times to collect resources and then log off, it doesn’t take a lot of time but can really bring me a sense of peace and joy. I don’t like to comment much but I feel I owe the developers a 5 stars comment for this awesome game they have developed and maintained all over the years.

Dragonvale expensive now. My son was an original player who started 7years ago. He gave up as it required more and more money to be spent to achieve any of the new dragons in the events. I took over and have continued his islands plus started my own. He was right. The last few events have being impossible to get new dragon. Breeding is getting harder (have the odds been reduced) It is meant to be a breeding game and I haven’t been able to breed the right dragons for months. All my new dragons came as rewards (chromacorn, embossed) would of been more fun too have better odds for breeding. Plus get rid of the daily 1000 limit during events, like it use to be to give people a better chance to obtain dragons. I use to happily spend money to get extra stuff, now I resent spending money as it is now needed to just achieve the ordinary. I get angry and disappointed when I play events now rather then excited with anticipation as in the old days. Losing interest fast.

Great casual game to play. I’ve loved this game since it first came out, and recently picked it back up in 2020 when I found out my new boyfriend played it. The sole issue I have with the game is that you can’t gift eggs to friends. I think there should be a tier system in place, maybe where you can only gift dragons where the person already has one of the type. Eg; can gift an aurora dragon if your friend already has a rainbow-type dragon. Alternatively, a level-based system where epic dragons cannot be traded until, say, the recipient is level 50. I love this game, the dragon designs are a mix of adorable, beautiful, and cool, and I really appreciate none of the dragons are pay-to-get like most games nowadays. The only request I have is that the devs fix an issue in the current valentines update. They have added the ability to donate dragons you breed in exchange for roses, however in the rift they have replaced the ability to release dragons in exchange for etherium. I don’t see why both can’t be an option, as they have not removed any options from the regular hatchery. Thankyou so much to the devs for so regularly updating and adding to the game, its a pleasure to play <3

Themes and islands. I love DragonVale and I’ve been playing it on and off for years. However a while ago I got a few island themes and put them on the first island I could. When my park expanded I didn’t really like how it ended up looking, so I tried to switch the themes around but I couldn’t. This is really the only problem I have with DragonVale (other than never being able to get anything other than silver on the race track😩). If possible do you think that islands could be moved like they are in the rift, or maybe as one of the Wishes you get after logging in for a 100 days. Thanks a heap for this great game!!!

Idk. This game is AWESOME!! But there are a few things that need improvements. First, I think some dragons should cost a tiny bit more less of gems. Just saying. Second, I think that you should REALLY fix the bug that just says: “Oops! Looks like a wizards spell went wonky! Please reload while we try to fix this.” It is so annoying! When I do reload, it just says it again! Let me tell you the story. So, I was just going into my world, and I was letting it load. Then, after a few seconds, it just says that a spell went wonky and blah blah blah. So, I had to delete the game and reinstall it, and it worked! But then after a few days, it said it AGAIN. So I just deleted it and left it like that because I knew I would lose all my progress. But yesterday, I downloaded it again because I didn’t mind losing progress. Then I entered my date of birth, and I found out it kept my progress! But then today it told me that a spell went wonky, I let it reload, wonky, and now I am MAD. Please fix this because I am stressed.

LOVE this game, suggestion for improvements. I’ve been playing dragonvale since it first came out and the fact that I’m still playing it now goes to show how good it actually is. I never get bored of it. HOWEVER, I really hope DECA sees this review because there are a few things I think could be improved and make gameplay so much better. 1. I really feel that for the size of the islands and habitats, we should be able to cram more items on an island together such as decorations, sometimes I have the tiniest decoration but I can’t put it next to the habitat or other decoration that I want because the square on the floor goes red indicating that there is no room. I think that’s unessessary. Also I REALLY feel we should be able to place objects over tiles!! It would make things look so much better!!! 2. Friend requests. I think is someone adds you, you shouldn’t have to find their ID and add them back in order to be friends. It’s a waste of time and would be much easier to just be able to ‘accept’ requests rather then adding the person back. 3. Personal names. I think it would be much better for everyone to be able to chose their own individual name rather than having eg. ‘Dragonvale#111’ it would give players originality and also we would be able to tell the difference between our friends on our friend list. Possibly having our own customisable avatar too would be pretty cool. Those are just some minor things. Overall great game, highly recommend.

Good Game, Bad Loading Times. This is a pretty good game and the only reason I didn’t rate it 5 stars is because the loading times are so long! Sometimes I can’t even be bothered playing the game because of the loading times. Also it’s a bit hard to play if you have no friends to give you gems. Maybe I should play another game on another device just to give my game gems. I don’t think I will, but that is an idea. Good game apart from that though.

A fun game but it comes with some glitches 😬. I have been playing this awesome game for numerous years, however, I have recently noticed some annoying glitches. A few times it has told me a spell went wrong in the park so I had to wait a few hours for it to get under control again. And now it glitches straight out of the app as soon as I press on it. I have searched it up and I am still not sure what to do. It has been a few days since I have been able to get on. I love this game but be prepared to wait a while for these glitches to either sort themselves out or you go insane trying to figure it out. Have fun! 🐲💖🧐😡😞🥳🤪😐

Love this Game a Lot. I love playing this game a lot, I love discovering the dragons and breeding them. (Why do they take such a long time-) I love the designs and everything. But I have a small issue, still giving 5 stars. It’s when I race with other AI dragons, I kind of kind it ridiculous. When I race with a dragon that has its elements that you’re supposed to race for or when I’m not supposed to such as the epics and galaxies. The very top always goes slightly faster or has an extra boost and because of this I always end up second or third. Idk if it’s a glitch or it’s suppose to that, even tho I always get perfect boosts. It’s honestly ticking me off. It’s not fair But I’m sorry for giving this complaint, but like I said I love this game and keep up the good work Thanks for making this game ^^

The “Rift” has ruined the game. I’ve been a daily player for over four years, but the game has become less and less rewarding over that time. I’ve persisted with the new rift expansion for a few months, but the interminably slow progression is just not fun. And now, after yet another seasonal event that was impossible to complete without spending real money, I really can’t see any reasons to continue playing (I have spent money on this game in the past, I don’t expect games to be handed out for free, but I also don’t expect to have to keep pumping money into a game in order to progress, either). It’s a shame, as this game was a lot of fun a few years ago, not to mention it used to sit at the fairer end of the free-to-play spectrum. This game’s decline is really one of the best examples of how F2P is incapable of producing satisfying games in the long term. Even good games cannot overcome a bad system.

Use to be good, now disappointing. This use to be one of the best games. Unfortunately the last couple of updates (the latest in particular) feel like a complete money grab. This game use to reward you on events, now you either need to spend your gems (which are hard to collect) or spend money to get event items, because it is impossible to collect the pieces for the new dragons. Backflip have disappointed and completely missed the mark with the changes of late!! The only reason you get 2 stars is because previously when I have have technical glitches with the game, your support center staff have been amazing, let’s hope you haven’t stuffed that up as well!!!

Dragon vale. For the creator- Hi I love dragon vale! I play it every day and night, I just have one request, to be able to gift friends (except noagard) eggs. Many times have I bred a dragon my friends have wanted, it usually happens often, about twice. As a good friend I am suggesting it to you! No hate if you think it would be a bad idea because of ect , just a thought. Another idea is to be able to co-leader people, rank them in some sort of way, like have people have different abilities to edit your park. One more idea is that you can pay, some sort of in game cash to make your own dragon, of course there would be some sort of restrictions so people don’t make their dragon op. Maybe like if your dragon has dark, it can’t be part of the rift? Idk just a thought. For people thinking about getting this great game- I recommend any lovers of dragons and mythical creatures like me, to get this game. It is very fun being able to make your own dragons breed your dragon with friends and all that stuff, like customising your island. Download this game. It will give you no regrets. What so ever. You don’t have to have friends to play, it is still as fun by yourself. I play this game at the start of the day, then at the end. Dragon vale asks for your birthday, so if you delete the app, it will save it for you! I deleted the app about 2 years ago and I have only started playing again in January 2020.

Love this game! keeps crashing with ads tho. I absolutely love this game, have been playing since i was a kid and it still works the same. The only thing is recently, when i wanted to get a breeding hint i’d watch the “vision” (an ad) but the ad would get almost to the end and the app would close, i go back in but the thing i watched the ad for is never given to me, it’s been happening more lately and haven’t been able to watch an ad without the game crashing. Hope to see this resolved soon :)

Great game, but could be improved. I love this game and have played it for years! However, it could be improved a lot. For example, editing the layout of islands and moving habitats is time consuming and painful. It would be easier to have an “edit layout” function, where you could edit your park in one go. It’s also very time consuming to press icons as they move up and down like they’re “resetting” or something. I know it takes time to redesign the UI of this game, but I think it would make the overall experience smoother and more enjoyable. Overall, this game is very enjoyable :)

Too hard to get dragons. I’ve been playing the game for many years and the one thing I’ve noticed more recently is it is nearly impossible to get the new dragons. You can spend a whole event just trying to get one dragon. Now when your as far through the game as I am and have been playing as long as I have this is one thing that’s going to turn me away from playing. I’m pretty patient but I’d like to be able to breed more than one new dragon each event. After the most recent event I can confirm that with over 400 tries to breed 1 dragon that some dragons just can’t be breed.

DragonVale. I have been playing for years and absolutely love this game. The dragons and islands and habitats are fantastic and can get them all without spending money or having to have friends playing also. The rift is a great idea as I have been able to advance quickly by contributing to the airship and breed more dragons. I did find it expensive growing the rift dragons until I realised I could use the rift ether instead of coins. The special events are especially great for building your park. Thanks for a great game and hope it continues forever.

Long time player. I have played this game from almost the beginning. I really enjoy it and I play it at least once a day. The only complaint I have is how you add friends. It was great when you could enter them through the game centre. Unfortunately all of the people I have add through this way have dropped off and I need to add new friends. I don’t want to add strangers to my Facebook, I don’t want them seeing my private life. I find this a big invasion of privacy. I feel that this could be dangerous for kids and young people playing this game.

Ads cause game to restart. I am a veteran player of Dragonvale since 2011 and love love love this game, but things have gotten worse since management moved from Backflip Studios to Deca. The problem is ads - before there were ads gameplay was much smoother. Now they either don’t play so you can’t earn that bonus gem/currency, or when returning to the park screen after they play the scale is severely distorted meaning the game must be closed and reloaded. Deca says this is a known issue, and I have offered to pay a one time ad removal fee, but there is no sign they are fixing it. The ad engine also still plays misleading Scapes ads that have been banned in the UK. Collecting dragons themselves is quite addictive and you can have a full game experience without buying in-app purchases, as I have done for many years. There is a rolling calendar of events and epic or limited dragons to breed, almost too many, as well as decorations and increasingly expensive islands, but it is a very effective game and keeps you hooked.

I love this game but…..a little feedback for the team. I absolutely love this game. I have been playing for years. There have been some changes to ads within the game, I am ok with that, I get heaps of fun from the game so do not begrudge a few ads. However today I got an an ad for pills for sexual dysfunction, with a comment close to just pop this pill, and let me tell you boys it more like a bang than a pop! I am an adult no biggie but I am wondering how an ad like that gets on a game with the suggested age range of 4+. Is there a vetting process for the ads? If not maybe there should be!!

I love it!. I know there are newer games out there, but for some reason I’ve always gravitated back to dragonvale. I don’t always enjoy all the changes (limited racing, etc.) but overall very enjoyable. There is a sort of levelling or rather, purchasing curve for islands as you reach the higher levels though. I’m max level and been playing for years and still struggle to purchase new islands… Also, I wish there was a clearer sort of pity system with breeding because I’m sorta unlucky 😭

Loading..... I love the game as in when I get into the game I will not stop playing it but the only problem for me is 1 it takes forever to load onto the game and 2 it is really hard to get gems and there for you can’t buy a lot of dragons from the market which means you won’t have any of the really cool dragons which are on this great game, I have told all of my friends about this game and all of them have loved it I hope my review helps and if you end up not getting this app don’t make my review stop you from getting it because it really is the best game ever

Classic Game. music gone?. I’ve played this game since I got my first IPod. The game was simple but engaging. I stopped for a while (4-5years) and then was on and off for another year or so. But I’ve recently downloaded again cause I’m in lockdown and I’m bored. The music that I so fondly remember doesn’t play while I’m just sitting in my park. That’s for me what made this game. The music that played whilst you looked at the mystical creatures you owned. Superb soundtrack and I’m just sad that the music doesn’t play anymore.

Cant get threw tutorial my game is glitched. Every time I try to delete the app it doesn’t work I can’t even delete the data so I really would like to play this game but I am unable to because every time I load in it wants me to buy the breeding structure for $3000 I don’t have 3000 so it wants me to watch a video but when I try to do that it won’t let me so I’m stuck and I can’t play the game

Shady Review. I’d rate this game five out of five stars cause it’s a game that I can play without being bombarded by ads and difficult to press buttons without clicking on more ads or purchases this is directed towards the other dragon game and you know what that game is.

Quantum not Quantuming. I breed a quantum dragon in the rift and when I got it to level 7 it’s face was covered in hair, it had four ears, and it’s bottom jaw was completely white can you guys fix it for me. Thx

12 years of work. I have been playing this game for over 12 years now, since I was a little kid. For everyone saying dragons are too expensive, you can breed literally all of them (or use a wish) depending on time of year. This is a slow paced game of collecting and breeding and it’s very rewarding. I love this game and I will never stop playing it.

Epic Mystery Eggs are Dumb, please fix.. I’m sick of saving up enough electrum for mystery eggs just to get stupid duplicates. It takes about 4-5 days to collect all 14k electrum, and the amount of electrum needed increases each time. I’m level 75. I have a fair few epic dragons already, and it is so frustrating! Could you please fix this so you can’t get duplicates? (And while your at it, maybe can I have a refund for the 41,000 electrum I’ve spent in the last two-ish weeks just getting freaking duplicates? :half joking:) thanks! Besides this, it’s a pretty ok game. Not, like, award winning, but I’ve had it for around eight years now and it’s fun. A little confused since they changed a ton of egg designs and now guess the egg is a little harder, but it’s not a real problem.

Glitch?. I haven’t been able to log onto the game for a month or two because the loading screen is still on the flower festival I want my 100 day wish too so please fix it! Btw great graphics my top 5 favourite games!

Races. Can you fix the dragon races. I can get all perfect but another dragon is literally always 8 ft infront of me

Player since 2011. I’ve been playing DragonVale for years and I love it. But the changes that have been made these past few years have been truly disappointing. Dragonraces seem to be rigged, it takes a ton of food to level up dragons, it costs far too much to grow so little dragonfood. The Rift thing was just a bad idea altogether; it makes the game load slower for nothing, and it’s too expensive to be fun, plus, it’s not original, it’s just copying the regular dragons and habitats. There needs to be more dragons created. I’ve levelled up so much, and still, I can’t buy more treat farms. The developers were doing so great until these cash-grab updates started rolling out. It’s one of the funnest games on the App Store, and it would be a shame if people gave up on it. I’ve had it for so long, I would be genuinely sad to have to let it go.

Please change this. I’ve been playing this game since I was a kid. And I wanted to delete the parks I made when I was younger cause I want to restart the whole game so I can experience it all again but you have to email the customer support and tell them why you want to delete the park which I think I silly. So please change it to where we can delete parks without needing to email customer support lol it’s foolish.

Great but a few issues. I used to love playing this game and thought I’d redownload it for old times sake. It’s turns out, a lot of things have changed. Starting off with a good feature, there is almost always an event going on. It makes the game a lot more entertaining and allows those of us who don’t want to pay money for gems to get some of the more expensive items in less time. However, there are a couple things that I noticed that I hoped you might consider bringing back. 1. Racing It’s almost impossible to win a race anymore as the npcs always get an extra boost at the beginning, putting you in 3rd or 4th to start. 2nd is the most you can get USUALLY. Also, I noticed that there are no longer trophies for the races which I don’t quite understand. They were really fun to collect and the designs were always really cool. PLEASE bring them back. 2. Rift I really like the idea of the rift, but it’s not very entertaining. All you can really do is feed dragons in outrageous amount of food so that they can breed (which costs ether) and get rid of smoke. As far as I know, you know, there are no decorations, quests, or minigames that the rift supports. It makes me not want to even bother with it as I’m not working towards anything. Maybe add some sort of quest where you have to…save something because the rift contains evil that may seep into the main park? Just a random generic idea to get the cogs turning. Thank you SO much if you read all of this, I really appreciate it. I know that this is a lot to ask but I just want you to consider it.

Too busy and annoying now. I redownloaded after 10 years to relive it. I was surprised that my dragons and money were still saved. I was excited to see all the dragons I had had, but gave up after about the 50th tutorial pop up I was forced to click through. This game is just annoying now.

“Interaction available” bubbles. I’m not enjoying these new bubbles (no idea what I’m meant to call them) on buildings with uses/abilities (empty breeding caves, the race track, Bahamut/Tiamat, etc). They just feel in the way and unnecessary to me, honestly, as a long-time player. If these bubbles were a one time thing for new players when they buy/unlock new buildings then they’d be helpful to show that the building has a purpose, but the bubbles don’t have any reason after that.

Great but crashes on Apple. I love this game, it's been a lot of fun to play since I got into it. However, I'm finding it very frequently crashes on me whenever I load ads for gems or speed ups, sometimes if I interact with the ad at all, other times the moment I click the "watch an ad" button it just crashes, and when I load it back up and hit the button it just crashes again repeatedly. Again, love the game, just dislike the crashing. Thank you!

Use to be the best game ever. I’ve been playing DragonVale for years and I loved that I did not have to spend money to enjoy this game to the fullest, though I did buy the tree since I wanted to contribute something to the creators as a thank you. No longer. The new challenges are designed for people who think it’s OK to waste real money on virtual things. Instead of creating new dragons, they turned old ones into Rift Dragons, and if that was not enough, now they are turning them into Ghost dragons. I can no longer keep up with the ridiculous demands and this game is becoming a major waste of time. Also, I spent over 400 gems (I’ve been slowly collecting them for years) on a chance to win some decorations I need to transform my dragons into new dragons in the latest winter challenge. Not only do I lose the dragon I have, but I’m beginning to think the game has been rigged so that it is impossible to collect the required decorations. Spending the last 100 gems I did not get a single new decoration only duplicates. (FYI I earn about 5 gems/day). Unless the creators do something to make this game playable for hard-working people without thousands of dollars to waste on virtual items, I’m going to classify this game into the Scam category and move on to something less frustrating.

Honestly not loving the update. Not sure if there were any other new features added, but the new, availability icons? in the update I find slightly bothersome and wished there was an option to turn them off, like I get some of them like Ts'aishen's chest as like a reminder, but for the treat farms and caves and quests it seems redundant and mildly annoying. Otherwise this is and has been my favourite game for many many years and cheers to the dev team you guys are great.

New rift zone.... not a fan. Groan. Played this game for 6 years and loved it. Now they've added a new "rift zone" which is similar to extended worlds that previous games like Smurfs and Clash of Clans started to do. Changes to those games got them deleted. Dragonvale may soon follow....

Best game. Honestly this game will never get old

No forced ads, no garbage, just a great game. This game is great. I played it when I was a kid and I still keep up on my island to this day. It has never had ads (unless you want a free gem every day, or bonus resources) and you don’t need to pay anything to progress. It’s a very entertaining game but also just great for shutting my brain off. Only gripe, as many have said, are the prices. 12,000 gems (well over $400 CAD) for a pack of 8 dragons (albeit super cool dragons) is insanity. Again, no loss of stars here because it’s NEVER required that you pay real money to progress. Otherwise, great job DECA team. You guys have done awesome since the moment you took over this game. Keep it up!

It took my money. I went to go buy the $0.99 coins TWICE and it didn’t give me the money for either times… it’s whatever but kinda mad, I want tho coins :(

DragonVale. I am trying to reinstall this game because an update message would not let me get into the game and now it will not install very frustrating.

Love it, but I want to protect my account from others... I used to play on an iPad and now my brother owns it. He has autism so he doesn’t happen to understand but he DESTROYED my park, there’s a few things that remain and I’ve tried countless times to prevent him from accessing that specific park! My one park I now have is thriving, but my other park that I loved with all of my heart is in shambles. It would be lovely if there was a way to delete the park from a certain device. Everything else is perfect!

Love it! But too expensive. I love this game so much, I’ve been playing for almost the last 10 years. This would be a 5 star game in my books if the gem prices weren’t so ridiculously overpriced. $260 + tax worth of gems for ONE ISLAND in a digital game. That is insane to me and many others. That’s why people have stopped playing. The developers need to up the gem value for the price you pay in order for it to be worth it. I’m surprised some people would actually pay this amount. Not the DragonVale I grew up with.

Love the game, not a fan of recent update. I absolutely love this game. Started playing years ago and recently rediscovered it, but I really don’t like the newest update (literally released today) that I just installed with the icons that now appears over idle farms and red exclamation icons that appear over buildings when an action is available. Just visual clutter that is very unpleasant aesthetically.

I'm not sure about this update... 😑. I have been a big fan for many years, I really do love dv, or I did... This is why I feel the need to tell you this update, while very creative, also doesn't sit right with me. The game now takes far too long to load and things are so expensive in the rift; be it levelling up your dragon, breeding your dragon, moving dragons around or clearing clouds. Everything comes back around to forcing you to spend the new fake currency which is very slowly re-acquired and the amount of food required to level up your dragon is truly disturbing. This really feels like a cash grab update and I don't feel it's worth it. It has made my game slower, less fun and has made me lose respect for the devs. I'm really disappointed guys. 😔

Thank you Deca games. I can’t believe how good this game is. It’s my go-to game on a bad day. The enhancement glitch has been fixed, and I very much appreciate that! I hope this game continues to develop and grow. It would be nice to be able to interact more with the dragons, and to give them more emotion. I know it’s a lot to ask, but it would be amazing. Small problem. Love this game love everything about it been playing it since it’s released but there is a problem at a certain point once your park gets big enough (and mine is very very big) that it becomes way too much of a chore to spend 2 hours a day harvesting the fruits of your labour. Truth is I still have the game and I’ll never delete it but I haven’t actually played it in like a year and a half and even then I was only able to play for a few days before I started feeling overwhelmed by its demanding nature. I can only imagine how insanely huge my park would be if I had kept at it the whole time.

:). Love it, the dragon designs are especially cute and well thought. The only suggestion is that you should make the appearance of the juvenile and adult stages of a dragon differ more from each other in design. Otherwise, Thank you for giving me a game worthy to play!

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE. Please make this game better it has so much potential. 1. Why is everything so expensive. Can’t actually buy anything with gems cause everything costs way too much. And to buy gems from the store is also crazy expensive for no reason. 2. The buildings (basically just colosseum) is great for rewards but it’s too big and takes up too much space. Needs revising and spatial awareness. 3. Include multiplayer games or something. There’s gotta be something you can include and make so it’s actually fun to play with friends. More quests or battles or something. You’ve gotta have some ideas it’s been the same thing for so long. 4. The enhancements altar is annoying and takes up space please just get rid of it. 5. Doubling down on adding mini games or multiplayer games something other than races because the races are also just getting annoying it’s the exact same thing every time and it’s so boring. In Summary; the game has a lot more potential. And potential without action is still nothing. Fix the bugs, make it more fun, cause one you get a decent amount of dragons and upgrade them all there’s nothing left to do. Please make it better. I believe in you, Game Devs <3

Bugs for panlong dragons.. Great game. Play it everyday. But I have 4 panlomg dragons in a water habitat and none of my 4 paomg dragons makes any coins whatsoever and I miss getting 900 coins each minute. Please fix. It only happens with those 4 dragons too.

love this game. but there's a big problem.. I honestly have so much fun playing this game. the events keep me invested in it and i actually can afford most of the things in it. The dragons aren't outrageously priced and i've never had to spend any of my irl money to make it fun. Just for that, I'd give it 5 stars. But, (and this is a BIG but), the game has gotten kind of buggy. It no longer loads quickly (i spend more than 15 minutes with the game open on screen without it loading) and it gets very tiresome very fast. I know it's not a problem with my internet because every other app is working fine. and even after those 15 minutes, occasionally it just closes the game and kind of gives up. Also, after watching an ad the screen can sometimes become stretched and doesn't fit my IPad the way it's supposed to. I've spent a lot of time growing my little archipelago, and Dragonvale brings me joy. But if this continues, i might have to give up on my favorite game. Please fix!

I love it but.... I love the game it’s amazing but there’s just a few things I really get annoyed at, first it’s so hard to level up I always get duplicate dragons and for the “but”..the updates are amazing but for me it just seems harder and harder to get the rare dragons like I understand it isn’t easy to get good dragons but like I’m mostly getting fire and plant dragons, and also the npc “The great nogard “ just makes me feel sad and let’s me down kinda like not with words like his park every new update gets released he gets all the dragons on the spot and when I visit his park I feel like I would never be able to get good stuff like he have five sun dragons and 4 mom dragons and a lot more legendary dragons, me and my sister just started playing last year and and we just feel sad when a new update comes out and I’m not blaming the update i love em all just the great nogard makes us feel bad he’s like bragging kinda i don’t know how to explain it, and maybe tone down the diamonds for the dragons like I get if there a lot of diamonds but like it’s to much for my opinion T~T that’s it for now bye!!!

Great, but needs basic work done. I’ve been playing Dragnvale since 5th grade (2012). I recently redownloaded to relive some old memories, and the game has seriously taken a fall. This may be a new issue, as I’ve only been playing for a couple months now, and a few friends of mine are also experiencing loading issues. Since the new update, 4.30.2, my game is stuck on the 4.30.1 loading screen almost always, and it takes the game at LEAST 10 minutes to boot up. I think there has been an error with the new update, and the patch notes IN THE APP STORE are identical for both 4.30.1 and 4.30.2, which I believe is the reason for slow loading times. I have reported this issue 3 times now, and have been told “clear your history, delete the app, turn off your phone”. Which does NOT work. This is a coding issue, not a personal one. I wish DragonVale would take some blame rather than blaming players for crashing issues. Please fix this! I love this game, and have spent a lot of money and time on it. AMAZING GAME!!. I love this game so much!! I’ve played since I had my kindle fire but then I lost my account because it was so old. So I restarted on a whole new park and I’m so far along!! Everything about this game is just amazing but I’ve been having one small problem with watching ads to get more rewards..when I put my dragons in the Colosseum I always get the best out of it and I tell myself what could hurt by watching a short ad to get a little more, right? So I’ll tap on it and watch the ad and it’s all fine until the ad is over and it brings me back to the game, it gives me my XP and my extra gems but the game is stretched out!! It’s all small and squished and the graphics are terrible! I can still move around my park and do things but the screen is all stretched out and weird looking do o usually have to restart my game to get it to go back to normal. Please fix this!!! I need my XP I forgot to add that sometimes the dragons glitch when they “breathe fire”. Basically the mouths shut on the dragon but the “flame” still comes out of its head. It doesn’t affect anything but it happens a lot with kairos and it’s kinda annoying

1,2,3. So I’ve been playing DragonVale for a while now. I just passed 100 days a few weeks ago and I don’t have very many complaints about the game. There are however a few things that bother me. 1- making friends. I do not have a Facebook that I use. My friends do not have a Facebook that they use. It is a little unfair for us because the only way to have friends in dragonvale is through Facebook. It should be as easy as searching for their park name and boom there it is. But sadly this isn’t the case. 2- celebration organization. Whenever new decorations come out they make it really easy to buy one of them. Then you have to scroll and scroll and scroll until you find all of the others because there isn’t a section for just the celebration decorations. It would make it so much easier to be able to get them all if they had a “ featured “ section or something 3- thankfully there are a lot of themes that run in the game like The Om of Noms and Roar of the Rift and all of the others but when there isn’t one of these going on I find the game to be not as fun. I get a little board with it. If there were more little mini games and stuff even when the theme isn’t going on it might be a little more fun. That’s really all I have to say. I enjoy the rift even though I don’t expand it very much (I really don’t need to). I really enjoy breeding all of my dragons and organizing my park but I REALLY would like to be able to visit more parks and make more friends. Thanks !!,

Great game, desperately needs edit mode. I have been playing this game for a few years now. It is by far my favorite app to play but it has one major issue in my opinion. Especially as players level up something they are going to struggle with is island organization and management. DragonVale lacks so heavily on the user ease of moving around items and having space to reorganize or redecorate. With games that have so many items on screen at one time, the user needs to be able to use an edit mode in my opinion. A mode that whipes the users world clean and places all habitats, buildings, decorations. In a “closet” if you will. The user can then drag and drop everything they own and move around items with ease. Clash of clans does this well and I think it is necessary for players of high levels. Reorganizing is nearly impossible for players who do not have a completely blank island at use for storing items while they move things around. I’ve been hoping for this for years and have seen no progress on it. DragonVale Reddit groups all complain about this as well.

Best Game Ever, But I have an Idea. I love DragonVale!!! I’m at level 33 and I’ve had this game for ages. It’ll be a LONG time before I get rid of this game, but I do have an idea. As a rare, and I mean RARE, occasion, players should be given the chance to buy gems using dragon cash. Now, I understand that this is how Backflip Studios gets the money to pay for things, but hear me out. My first reason is that this is a child friendly game, and not many kids are able to just buy gem packs. I know I wouldn’t be able to! Secondly, only primary elemental dragons are worth dragon cash. This is annoying, because the cheapest dragons that aren’t worth dragon cash are 25 gems, which leads me to the next problem. Earning gems is really hard, and usually includes trying to breed dragons that will get you gems when you complete the goal of getting that dragon. Those dragons tend to be the more expensive ones that are hard to breed. Therefore, I think that on a rare occasion, players should be able to buy gems for dragon cash for a limited amount of time.

@~@🐉🐲great😱. When I read reviews, I normally just look at all the critical ones. But now I’m here to give an overview. I’m a girl who loves dragons. I’m very critical of a cartoon dragon, but geez-these are awesome! Has very creative setup. I first played when I was 8-9, then lost it somehow. Downloaded it recently and still as awesome as ever. (Added more dragons) Can be time-consuming when you first get it and everything takes a while, but it’s definitely worth it. At one point I did have a small glitch for a few days, and there are tons of reviews on glitches. I wouldn’t count on it happening to you, but just be prepared and don’t get too attached to this game. Its not always an easy game to deal with, but very rewarding. 🙂 A cool bonus is the very intricate background stories they give you on each dragon and ways they sort info. 👍 Thank y’all Oh, and just FYI, people say it’s a money grabber but if you work hard and are patient, it works out. (But don’t do stupid things like “dragon draw”. A complete waste of time. Sorry)

Awesome must try.. No one has to spend money. If you do you’re addicted to competing with other players. I love the game yes I spend some money, but not tons. They need some money from all player to keep the game going . So I’ll spend some every now and then. With that said I love the game and their challenges. The events are not made to be played with the thought that “ I must get every dragon in the event now” it to be play with the under standing that it’s a challenge and you work hard for the ones you can get before it ends. If you even get one you Accomplished something . All the dragons in the event will return next year. And you might be able to breed them before that. This is a very fun and awesome event. And a very fun ,well played out game . Enjoy it stop trying to keep up with the people who buy the way through. And please stop whining. I would like to thank backflip for continuous events that are challenging , not boring , creative and cute. I love your game. Please continue to surprise us with your events and new dragons. DECA you guys really need to chill. I love this game dearly. I have played it since it first came out and I would recommend it to anyone. But the point of this review is to get DECA to change a few things that just are starting to ruin the quality of the game. Some are big and some are small but I feel the game is not going in a good direction. First off, the feeding takes wayyyyy too long. Every time I get a new dragon I feed it to lvl 15 and it takes almost a full 30 seconds. You guys need to make it faster. Not as fast as it used to be but I know you can speed it up. Second is that there are too much events in this game now. As a player I don’t get time to enjoy the game outside of the events and it’s hindering the proper development of my park. This worried me for two reasons: that you guys are gonna run out of decent content within a year or two and that the game is taking a more heavy pay-to-win route with the purchasing of event currency. I feel that if the game continues going in this direction you guys are going to lose a lot of long time players of the game (Reddit is not happy, DECA). Please help yourselves and make smarter changes.

Getting fed up with the changes. I’ve been playing this game since about a year after it was released and I had been loving until about the last year of updates. The events are so short and one right after the other giving the players no time to relax and get other dragons that are not part of events. Instead of a week to get your prizes once the event ends you have 24 hours and no time to waste. Everything in the events cost way to much and it’s impossible to get the amount of event currency you need to buy even one dragon. For example, it’s about eleven days into the most current event and I only have a 2,000 treats and only getting about 500 out of the 1000 allowed in a day (Which the limit itself is unnecessary). It’s just going down hill as the only way to get anything in events now is to spend money, which I refuse to do. From the newest update the thing I hate the most is how once your dragons are done breeding it takes you automatically to the nursery. Stop. Get rid of it. It’s just a pain and does not help anything. So please game developers; read the reviews and make the changes because your game is becoming less and less enjoyable.

Awesome Game!. This game is awesome! There’s collecting, decorating, cute dragons, rare dragons, and much more! I would say this game is perfect, but it’s not. Many things take a LONG TIME. Racing, breeding, hatching. Sometimes I’m like “FINALLY! It’s taken eight hours, and my dragons are done breeding!” And then I’m like, “Oh wait! That’s right! Another eight hours of waiting for my egg to hatch!” Sometimes that time is wasted, because I know what dragon is hatching (because of the colors and patterns on the egg) and I already have it! Also, WAY too many things cost gems, I have millions of coins, and only 250 gems. And EVERYTHING costs gems. Well, ok, I might be exaggerating, but still! And I get the things that cost gems are meant to be “rare” but that’s a lot of rare stuff! Also sometimes the events last so long! An event that was CLEARLY meant for Valentine’s Day, is still going on! And it’s March 3rd. And I don’t really like the Event, I like seeing my dragons colors. In conclusion DEFINITELY buy the game, but there are a few things the developers should fix.

decent game. I’ve had this game in high school (7 years ago) and forgot all about it and surprisingly still had all my stuff when I logged in which is pretty cool. It’s a fun game trying to breed dragons but here’s a few things that I don’t particularly like..the incubation & quest times are so long - I’m often finished/caught up with all my dragons and quests within 10 mins of playing because of the amount hours everything takes to complete. There eventually is a limit on how many habitats you can have, and I’ve reached that limit and have to use 25 diamonds to get 1 more habitat, and red diamonds don’t come by very often either to have enough pay 25 diamonds per habitat at a certain point. For some reason my breeding caves do not breed gemstone dragons lol I wasted the whole month of August trying to breed the peridot dragon (both were lvl 17) and nothing and so this far into the month of September and I’ve yet to get a sapphire dragon :( don’t know why it’s so easy for everyone else. Overall decent game if you’re patient enough. Lol

Great game, what happened to events??. So I love this game. First got it back on my iPod touch nearly six to seven years ago. I was hooked! Then my iPod broke, got a new device, and started over again. It was even more fun, I grew so attached to my dragons and park. I recommend this to everybody looking for a new game to try! I have a couple complaints, unfortunately. What happened to backflip studios? They did such an awesome job with the game! One, (with Hasbro) events are back to back, making it somewhat annoying. Two, the price increase on Miasmic rift clouds and rift habitats. This really gets on my nerves. When I breed a dragon in the rift, often I have no space and I don’t have enough currency to purchase new habitats. Plus, rift-bred dragons are expensive to feed. Three, the islands are too expensive and take too long to be summoned! Only increase the island price by like a million dragoncash, and it should be ready to summon the next day. Love this game, but it no longer works :(. Been idly playing this game for about two years now, give or take. I enjoy it, but in recent months, I haven't even been able to open it. I have the latest IOS updates and even upgraded to a newer phone during that time and the game still won't load. It loads about halfway and then stops. No error, no connection issues, no reason for it. I've tried everything under the sun to fix this, but it simply reaches the halfway point and never makes it past that. I've even tried to let it load for a FEW HOURS, and it still never made it past that point. I have no idea what's going on but I am sad that all that work I put into my park is now wasted because the game never loads. I haven't been able to play in months, I just want to play it in my free time again. I'm not sure if it's IOS that's causing this or an unreported error with certain Apple accounts, but it's been going on for too long. That's my only complaint right now, otherwise I'd gladly give it the 5 stars it deserves, but I am quite literally unable to play. Any help would be appreciated. . . no troubleshoots have fixed it. Update: It's been over a year since I posted this review. Tried the game again, and it STILL doesn't work.

Fav Game. Have been playing Dragonvale since I was young and still am not bored of it. There’s something about collecting all the new event dragons that keeps drawing me in, especially since the artists designing everything are so talented. I’ve recently maxed out my levels which took many years to do, but contrary to some other reviews I actually prefer the slower pace. I think the reason I’ve been able to play this long is because it does take a while to see a lot of progress and build up your currencies, but I would be bored if it was too easy to do so. I think a really cool idea that the creators can add is a sort of “island floor plan” where it gives ideas of how to decorate your islands. I found that one of my favorite parts of the game is making my islands really cute and decorated but sometimes get overwhelmed with how many options I have and wish there were some images for inspo. Overall an amazing and underrated game!

Typical Pay to Play. I played this game when it came out and from the start it was never an interactive game, your options were to wait around to eventually be able to build your park or pay to make it quicker, unfortunately I was pretty young and early on actually spent money to “play” this game. I’ve deleted and redownloaded it multiple time and each time the game seems worse than the last time I played. Recently I downloaded the game because I was missing the park and wanted something to do in quarantine, the first thing I noticed was a bunch of new features and forced pop ups that dragged me around various menus. As I kept going through the spring event features I noticed how they really want to make you pay for everything there is a spring currency you can buy to make sure you get the limited items before they go, there’s rift currency which plays into an extremely tedious new part of the park to unlock, and much like remembered there are still no features that make it so you can play the game for any more than a few seconds before waiting a day or paying money. I’ve always loved the concept of building my own park in DragonVale but it’s not worth the wait and for entertainment your money is better spent buying a game you can actually play.

Love it! With a great response team. I can’t say DragonVale has been glitch free over the years, but, most of them have been relatively minor. I can say that all of them are resolved very quickly, and in most cases with apology gifts to boot. I love DragonVale. I've been playing since the game launched, with only one hiatus due to a loss of a loved one. I do like the rift, it takes a good strategy, but there are perks to it. I admit some of it is frustrating though . The extreme increase in dragon treats needed to level is just ridiculous considering how costly it is to plant food. The extremely low success rate to breed the new rift breeds is very frustrating too. Please consider removing or raising habitat limits. There's a self imposed limit space-wise anyways. Also, PLEASE find a new way to add friends since game center app was removed by apple. I do not do social media, so I'd really appreciate being able to use an in game network to add friends, or at least be able to type in their ID to send a friend request. Thanks!!

Love it but.... I really love this game and have played it for years now, but it seems as though the company is starting to get a little greedy. During special events we used to get daily prizes and games to earn stars/eggs/presents (whatever we happen to be earning during that event) but we don’t get those things anymore. It’s nearly impossible to collect all the daily “points”. The prizes that you can purchase with your collected “points” have gone up in price and so many new things added that even when I start the event already having half or more of the items there is no way possible, unless you spend real money, to even get anywhere close to collecting everything. There is also no group prize anymore where the community collects their extra points together to earn a prize. In order to collect all the stars so far in this event I have had to spend every single etherium I had saved up. I started a few days ago with over 110,000, trying to save up for new habitats, and I now have none. I had to use it ALL to hatch eggs to earn points. Which of course means I won’t be able to collect all the points today since I have none left and have a long breed or two going. I wish it were less - BUY BUY BUY - now and more - FUN FUN FUN - like it used to be.

DragonVale. I personally like this game. The game is like a story. Every dragon has its own little description and background. The names of wizards or witches can sometimes appear more than once and it makes the experience all the better. I started this game when it first came out and I’m still loving it. I love the constant updates because it means that the app always has something new. I just wish that gems weren’t so hard to get. I’ve most likely spent over hundred dollars on gems but you lose gems so quickly in the game that you spend a lot and gain little. It takes so long to just reach hundred gems but you can lose all of them in less than a hour. I wish it could be easier to gain gems and cost of using gems were less. I love the game anyway but it’s costly. P.s. I think DragonVale should have a special when it’s made into a story or history special. I think that it would be amazing because I find myself wondering what the story behind DragonVale is and its history (even if it just a game).

THIS APP IS A GREEDY MONEY GRAB DO NOT GET IT. Hey it's been awhile but I want to point out that this app is a greedy grab for money. You have to buy pretty much everything. And it's stupid. If you get an egg, it takes up to 24 hours to hatch. If you breed dragons, they take up to 24 hours to finish doing their thing. If you pay to remove a big stone or tree, it takes up to 24 hours. And if you want any of these things to speed up you have to pay real money for it. It's impossible to earn gems, it's really hard to get enough treats to feed ALL your dragons unless you wait 24 hours for the treats, and if you have your dragon go into the colosseum to take part in an event, you don't get to see it or anything. You have to wait 24 hours, and you don't even see the competition taking place. It's such a hopeless money grab. I have been tricked into almost buying something many times. Thankfully I managed to back out of it quickly. I've heard people say that this app randomly charges your account $15. A scam. It's misusing your credit card information. That's scary. So please be careful and do not buy this. PREVIOUS REVIEW Okay, I loved this game. But you can't tell the in-app purchases from the items that are purchased with fake coins! I almost bought things with real money on several occasions because it was impossible to tell the difference. Such a let down, honestly.

Nostalgic game. I was introduced to this game by my older brother. He had an iPod touch and I remember always asking him to play because he had a bunch of dragons. I vaguely remember everything but I do remember that there was the rainbow dragons and I think time dragon of some sort. I remembered the name and decided to get the game again because I did get it before but didn't play it a lot. I do have a one thing to say about the game, although it's near perfect. 1) Is it possible to create something so the players can interact with the dragons?! > I join the game and collect, farm, and breed everything but that's all I do. What if there was a function where like how it's the race but it's like a 'tap to fly' to reach the goal. Pushing on the line is fun and exciting when I get the boost but I wish I could do more. Of course same rules apply to this new function just a new idea. I even have to ask that if the developers can create like a battle function if that doesn't exist already. I really want to play this game all day if I could!

HOW TO GET ETHERIUM!!!. To everyone complaining about how hard it is to get Etherium and how expensive everything is in the Rift: You’re doing it wrong!! Stop everything you’re doing: stop clearing Ether and stop breeding dragons above 200 Etherium in cost! Buy habitats instead, the more habitats you have the more Etherium you get, which allows for even more habitats! Then upgrade the habitats. It’s exponential! I have 9 Regal habitats (highest ones with a max of 200 Etherium each) and 7 Refined (second highest with 135 Etherium each), which fill up every about 2 hours, and I haven’t paid a single dime in real money. By now I discovered the buildings and have been easily breeding dragons too, worth several thousand Etherium a day, but I didn’t start with that, I started with the habitats. Now about the exorbitant costs to feed the Rift dragons... that’s a whole different story. There’s no exponential growth to be had in this case. And it’s annoying that they didn’t use to cost that much before the upgrade. Oh well. But other than this, I love the game. It’s not easy, but it’s still possible to play without paying money, if you focus on growth first.

Amazing game, but a few minor things.... I want to start this out by saying I’ve had the game for 6 years. That may bias me a bit, but it’ll also mean I know what I’m talking about a little more. This game has a very unique atmosphere about it, and it appears that it’s the first dragon-breeding game to ever come out on the App Store, so that earns it quite a bit of respect. The animations are really cute and the holiday/bi-monthly events that take place make people keep coming back for more. Breeding dragons is fun and it feels so rewarding when you finally get that rare/epic dragon you’ve been hoping for. However, one thing that has always been true about this game is that it’s got a very long loading time. That is, the game’ll take about 5-10 minutes just to get itself booted up at the start. From then on, it’s pretty smooth sailing except for the occasional crash (which’ll happen with any app from time to time) All in all though, Dragonvale is a very fun game with unique dragons, unique ideas, and definitely worth a download!

DECA needs major help. To begin, I love this game. Or used to, because now I can’t even access the app anymore. The app immediately ejects me when I click into it and it has had loading problems for a few weeks now. The loading time had been up to a couple minutes just to access the app and it had also told me something went wrong and reset the loading a couple times as well. Even though it was the event Winter Wonderland the app’s loading screen had been showing me the previous event, Whitbee’s Candy Bash. I’m extremely disappointed in the people/person working on this game, they clearly do not know how to detect bugs. I will change the review score after fixing this bug, but I want to let the developer know that they will lose a lot of players if they don’t fix it soon. I deleted the app and restored my progress and that seemed to fix the problem. Temporarily. Now, I have the never ending loading screen again and all DECA has to offer is “we have been notified of this problem.” Yeah right, they haven’t fixed it for months. I’m sorry, but if this continues on I’m going to have to delete the app but not restore my progress. You will lose a lot of people over this, please fix ASAP. Also, I think this might be an iPad problem because it never occurs on my phone, nor my friends’ and families’ phones. And no, it’s not my iPad’s fault.

DragonVale is simply amazing. DragonVale has always been an amazing game because it doesn't force you down a path where you can't choose but gives you the basics and just throws you into the game. It doesn't force you to watch ads to progress and just asks if you would like to watch an ad for a simple coin or gem boost. Most apps like to throw ads in your face after every thing you do but DragonVale stays away from that and just has it in the background for you to do if you would like. Finally, I love DragonVale because it includes tons of features like leveling up your dragons for higher success of your dragons or having the rift included into the game to give it a fresh twist. But I often see people complain and I can understand, the rift starts off as confusing but as you progress through it it becomes easier to understand how it works and what to do with it. DragonVale has definitely progressed since I've first started playing it and I love it.

Log on issue (requires internet connection) now into day 9. Up and running again, thank you! Have missed out on 11 days of all the candy & limited dragons etcetera. Hopefully DECA will give us a NICE TREAT as we have definitely had our fill of TRICKS!! I have now changed my Star rating to 5🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 from 1🌟 as promised. Please trial all new updates etcetera rigorously in the future as to end/minimize further issues. Below is the first review: Yes I’ve contacted DECA (10 Oct 2023), see below for response. Please be a bit more forthcoming with the information on how you are ’looking into this issue’ on a regular basis. There is so much we (the players) are missing out on the longer it takes to fix! I started playing in 2011 & absolutely love it so please get ALL the issues fixed so I can give the game a 5 star review. DECAs response: ‘We want to assure you that we're already looking into this issue and we are doing our best to resolve the matter as fast as possible, so you can return to your park, worry free!’

1 of the few valid mobile games even in recent times. As the title states, this is one of the few mobile games that continuously has great updates and in game features even for modern time standards. It’s also perfect for older people like myself who has to prioritize real life over all else since it takes about an hour to 2 overall to game daily. Basically stress free and I should’ve paid attention to it over most other free games that give me grief. In early 2024, I’m really happy that a few of the epic element habitats have added extra primary elements. It’s great that the current players and I don’t have to collect from so many habitats that has only an under 250k limit to collect. And we all didn’t have to wait for so long to buy extra medium to huge sized islands! If y’all are returning players or planning to come back, buy those epic grade habitats so y’all don’t have to buy the small DC capacity ones! It’s preferable to play this on tablet (ex. iPad Pro) over phone due to gaining free offerwall gems fast! Also great for multitasking, reading while managing the park!

Pay to Play/Cash Grab. I’ve been playing DragonVale for almost 2 years, if not longer. One of my friends got me into the game. He has been playing for almost 6 years and wanted someone else to enjoy it with him. Up until the recent events, we used to compete to see who could get the newest dragon the fastest, or who could get the most event currency. Now he is thinking about quitting. I have never spent actual money on this game. That was never the point. I played because it was free and fun, and relatively easy to breed dragons or obtain from events. These last few months, there has been a significant shift in the game dynamics to make us try and pay actual money to obtain all of the dragons. I refuse. This isn’t the DragonVale I started with, and if this keeps going this path, I will not keep playing. I do appreciate some of the changes though, and I don’t want the developers to think that I want to play the same ole DragonVale day after day. With that being said, things have to be made easier and more user friendly. The evolving is a great idea in theory. What’s not a great idea is allowing us to get 16 tendrils of white before we get our 1 tendril of red needed to evolve. Do you see the issue with that?

Slow down a little please. I adore this game so much. I’ve been playing it on and off since I was a child. I’m an adult now and still have my old parks. I play it a lot and I love it so much. However, please have breaks in between events. Slow down a little. Please. Let the game just be for a bit. The joy of getting the extremely rare dragons is so diminished when the events cycle through constantly. Having a few months in the year where events occur is so much fun, but having an event literally one after the other after the other where your park can’t just be your park for a bit is a bit much. Don’t get me wrong, I love this game. I just miss the slow pace. The joy of getting a dragon you missed the last time you had an event. Of seeing a new dragon being added here and there, not 20 new dragons popping up constantly. Please slow it down a little. The nostalgia is what keeps this community thriving and playing the game. Not all the new stuff and constant events. (Though some new things and new dragons are appreciated here and there.) Let us play without events for a bit. Let us catch up, figure out what’s new, and just enjoy the game as it is. Perhaps you could adjust some stuff with the rift or do a rift related event later on instead of adding so much to the main world. There’s so much you could adjust with the rift that would make the rift more fun to play with. Just, think about it all. Take your time. Don’t rush the game, let it be.

Summerthings 2. I’m rating this a 5 so I don’t lower the overall rating of the game. I have loved this game as long as I can remember from when I was just a kid and got my iPod touch. It’s my favorite game and I can’t ever see myself stopping. But I am very disappointed today when I opened DragonVale and the summerthings school island had disappeared along with my choice of dragon from the event calender. I played everyday to earn my choice of wish and without and warning or timer it was just gone. I was looking at it just earlier yesterday and had decided to wait another day to think over this complicated decision since there are so many cool zodiac dragons and all of the others. But sadly I woke up this morning devastated. Do you think it would be possible for the next event to have a timer before the event island disappears? Or maybe if you earn your choice of dragon for the last day of the event it gets sent to your gift inventory? Thank you for making an amazing game, some suggestions from a life long fan

Great game that is forever fun.. I’ve read many reviews on this game that complain that you have to spend money to enjoy it, or that everything takes too long (which I did believe at first), and that’s not the truth at all! I play this game every single day and there’s always something new to enjoy. Dragons may cost a lot of gems to buy straight from the store, but if you know your breeding strategies, there is no need to even visit the store. I’ve not spent a single penny on this game and I’ve reached level 32 in the span of a month and a half. To enjoy this game, you need patience, because yes, breeding and building takes awhile. But if you leave it for a few hours and do something else, the time goes by so quickly. There are many things to do: racing, rolling dice in the mystic hall, rearranging your island (which I do every other day practically lol), breeding cool dragons, etc. DragonVale hasn’t gotten old yet and I don’t suspect that it will! I highly recommend this game to anyone who appreciates good quality graphics, exciting events, and the chance to build your own world.

Even though it was a tiny bit boring at first, now it is my number one favorite app. I love getting new dragons and islands and around every corner, I say “I didn’t know that this game could do that!” I love how you can name your dragons things to go with how they look and act. The only problem I have is that the “Great” Nogard has a lot less than me in everything except for gems. This is the best game you can get on a mobile device. A question I have about the game is, why is DragonVale better than DragonVale World? It was made beforehand. Finally, about two years ago, I was into the level 60s, when BAM! I was back with a brand new park at level one. I was ready to quit the game forever, but I decided to give it one more go. I am so thankful I did and now I have things in the game that I wouldn’t have ever thought would be in it. If you read that entire thing you are tough. Pat yourself on the back. Also, for you people who had everything deleted, back it up onto whatever you can. I back it up onto Game Center AND google in case there is a glitch.

DragonVale. I have played this game for over five years. A couple of times I have had literally every dragon. This game is fun, inexplicably addictive, and very engaging. BUT. In the past I could spend a bit of money here and there, kept up with everything just fine. Now there are insatiable demands to put money into this game by the developers, or you simply cannot hope to get the dragons you want. I don’t know how new folks don’t quit and give up. With literally hundreds of dragons now, special events virtually non-stop, and limited edition dragons available for such short times that you HAVE to spend money to get them, this game has become a serious downer. I used to be able to cycle through friends and only give gems to folks every couple of days because so many were playing. Only four are left...get it together, Backflip. You are ruining a game many of us have played for 5+years and made it so difficult for new players I have folks on my list that quit by level 14. Small amounts of money here or there are one thing. Charging non-stop “acquisition rent” causes the game to lose its appeal and playability. So disappointed with the direction this game has taken. Wouldn’t recommend to new players and can barely recommend those who have played for years.

Nostalgic. So when I was really young, I’ve had this game on my old ipod to play with my sister. It’s a special memory for us, so I decided to pick back up the game on my phone. It was very nostalgic to play again, but seeing it now, I have more comments about it. I love how you can get different dragons during the time of year, day, etc…, but what I don’t like is the amount of time dedicated to this game. Once you get pass the beginning, everything seems to slow down tremendously. I work part time, and I usually get bored playing in between shifts because you can only do so much. Once you breed a dragon, you are locked in, and cannot do much else besides waiting which gets repetitive. When I try for a dragon and don’t get the one I want, I waste up to a whole day of just one breeding session. I really love this game, and I’m determined to finish it one day, but it’s something that I might drop because of the amount of time dedicated to it along with the long hours of waiting for little things. LOVE IT ! ❤️. I’ve been playing this game for almost 8 years and have never gotten bored. 🤯 I usually ditch games after a few weeks or months but this one really stuck with me, there are soo many dragons and all of them are just so cute ! It’s really not hard to progress and I haven’t purchased anything since I first installed it which is amazing ! You don’t need money to go forward and everything is pretty balanced, there are events regularly so you can’t get bored and I love the music (really into this summer mood) ! If I had to add or change something it would be with the whole “friends” part, I wish we could see a bunch of players and add them instead of having to get friends and family to play (mine are too lame for this amazing game😔). I understand why it’s not this way but it would be nice if we could have a few friends (besides the default wizard) to send our diamonds to and help out ☺️. Anyways, this game is really fun and amazing, there’s really nothing negative I can find or have ever come across so a big thank you to everyone who works on it, keep going ! 🤩

I Love This Game but Some Problems. I have been playing dragonvale from the start, and when I got a new phone, i still downloaded the game even if that meant starting over in the game. I am probably better than most of these commenters, not to brag but I am level 45 and have 69 epic dragons. This game is one of my favorites, but recently it has been acting up and clicking out of the app sometimes and also it says a wizard cast a spell on my park at least once before I am able to get in my park. Can you please fix this? Thanks, and when is the winter update coming out? I am looking for some new dragons :) Ok, so adding on to these problems I am also filing a complaint too, sorry. At least half of the times I log in it tells me to check out some rift dragon and I can’t click out of it, so I have to go to rift then to market are check out whatever new rift dragon I haven’t gotten, even though I just wanted to check up on my park. It is very annoying and can you please make this happen MUCH less or let you be able to tap out? Thanks for making a great game!

Highly recommended. 🐉. I love this game. It’s probably the first of the dragon breeding simulation games, and is by far the best. The progress is perfectly paced and the game play is engaging. It is possible to spend money on the game, but not required whatsoever. However, this is a long term game. You cannot beat it in a month. It will take years. I consider this a good thing, as it means you will get content for a very long time. For casual people, I warn you, it will take a REALLY long time. I reached level 100 in about a year, but I play it a lot. A LOT. Also, Backflip adds new content all the time, so it’s kind of impossible to really “beat the game.” I know this bugs some people, myself included. You can 100% it, but in two months they’ll just add more stuff. All in all, an incredibly fun game experience that I suggest you try if you like long term thinking games. P.S. To all you people whining that the Rift is too hard and slow without money, I have all rift exclusives but three, tons of rift touched, and have cleared most of the etherium. All without spending a DIME.

Awesome w/ a few exceptions. I love Dragonvale; I played at its release, quit for about two years, and am back now. I like their addition of new dragons every so often, and they have done well with it for the past few months. However, I recently unlocked Tai’shen or whatever the coin-collecting Mythic dragon’s name is, and I am highly displeased. So much work and patience for a dragon to give me 5% of my total coin capacity. Really weak and deflating once unlocked; makes the effort and patience unrewarding. And lastly, the latest Whitbee Halloween event is and was HORRID. Worst imaginable event. Way too difficult, confusing, and impossible to obtain even close to everything unless you want to spend an ungodly amount of gems (not just hundreds, thousands). Way too many new dragons and the having to sacrifice your already-owned dragons and earned candy to evolve them into the new dragons, or to use your candy to transform other dragons into ghost forms. Stupid, awful, wearing event. Please don’t make the same mistake for Thanksgiving or Christmas! Please Backflip, I love this game, as do so many others. Don’t get greedy; you have my loyalty... for now. Don’t ruin your game.

Fun, but there are issues. Hi, I have been playing dragon vale for 7 years now and I have been able to obtain many rare dragons. This game is about time and getting all the dragons. Although this game is very creative I have a couple of issues with the game! 1st of all gems are way to hard to get. That's a simple one but I wouldn't be mad if you kept it the same. 2- it took so much time to get gem dragons, but when I got them they only create 1 gem 1week or 1 gem a month. Saying this I think that lowering the time limit you have to wait would be nice. 3. Galaxy islands cost way to much. I have so much money in game and can't buy a 3rd island. 4. I respect the price of a main island (cause they are islands) but once you buy it, I don't think you should have to wait a day to use it. Finally 5. The perch of kairos doesn't speed everything up. It doesn't speed up the colosseum, It doesn't speed up islands. ( pretty sure ) so that's something I really don't like. Don't get me wrong I love the game so much! I even try to encourage my friends to play it. If your just reading this review because you want to see if it's good, it's great! Anyway those are my thoughts.

Constant crashing ):. I’ve played this game on and off for years, since I was a kid. It’s always been good fun, until this last recent reinstall. At this point I hadn’t played this game for years, and was surprised at the constant events cycling through the game. With this surprise also came the frustration. I believe the constant presence of events is what’s contributing to my main problem with the game: constant crashing and impossible loading times. Sometimes I wait almost 10 minutes at a time for the game to lol, only to play for maybe 5 minutes to have it crash and go back to the loading screen for another 10 minutes or so. This has led me to not even want to try and open the game. It’s impossible to even check on my dragons; I don’t get enough time before crashing to collect all the coins from my habitats, nonetheless enough time to select for breeding to expand my collection. I live in the middle of the city, and always have a strong signal/internet/data connection. I’m very disappointed to be deleting this game once again, but not having it due to lack of interest. I would love to come back to this game as soon as this bug gets fixed.

GET THIS GAME!!!. This is literally my favorite game right now!! The dragons are so cute and i love them!! ❤️❤️ Anyways you get to have as many islands as your heart can cram in, and you can have as many dragons as you want!! If that’s not enough, there is fun seasonal events that bring you seasonal dragons!! I’m posting this around thanksgiving and right now the thanksgiving Om of Noms event is going on, such cute dragons, haven’t got one yet because i don’t have enough spices (little cookie shaped things that help you earn prizes) to get the Harvest Dragon but i was talking and being weird just talking to the dragons on my phone and i promised the dragon i would get him as soon as i could. So yea, luv this game 5 stars from me!!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️😂😂😂😅😅😅 Whew!! That was a lot to let out!😅😅 Btw if your still reading, the only bad thing i have found out of the time i have been playing is that sometimes it’s hard not to spend REAL money to make progress, i know from personal experience. Me: “I NEED TO BUY THESE GEMS!! THE BREEDING/HATCHING/ANYTHING IS TAKING FOREVER!! GOTTA SPEED IT UP WITH GEMMZZZZ!!” Yea i get carried away, i think i have spent $30 on this game, I’m very mindless at times....😬😬

Long-time player. I have been playing Dragonvale since ~a month after it was released and watching the app grow and update has been a real joy. The park invites you to be creative by giving you many options for decorations, the only complaint there is that you cannot rotate the items, which can be a bit frustrating. I feel it would also aid gameplay if we could move entire islands. All of my islands are fully decorated and I don’t want to have to start over just because I want my fire island to be in the middle now. One last feature I would love to see added is seasonal decorative trees. I decorated my seasonal island in spring when everything was lush and green and the oak trees fit in nicely, but they look terrible and out of place now that fall has arrived (perhaps some nice, large pine trees too for cold islands as well). If you are considering downloading this game, I say do it! The variety of dragons is endless and once the rift and other advanced gameplay opens up, the joys of the game only grow.

Good game, one issue.. First off, this is a good game. I find myself checking in about every 4-5 hours to claim new prizes and complete tasks. There are beautiful dragons to collect, I can really tell the designs have gone up in quality since 2017. I love the frequent events as they gives me constant opportunities to get limited time dragons, and I don’t mind the wait times for breeding dragons and hatching eggs. I’ve seen a lot of people complaining about how the wait times are a “cash grab”, but the longest wait time is maybe 48 hours. If you can’t wait a few days for something in a meaningless game you have serious issues. It’s not a pay to play, everything in the game can be accomplished with patience and a MAX of 5 bucks. The only issue I have with the game is the racing at the dragon track. No matter what dragon I choose or how perfectly I tap, I am ALWAYS in 2nd place to an NPC. It’s very frustrating to constantly lose for no reason other than the developers want you to. There is no way to buy a win, or any way to pay for better chances. The sole reason you’re always 2nd place is because the developers want you to be. Because of the sickening sadism of the developers, I revoked 2 stars.

Best Neverending Creativity Game. I have been playing DragonVale for several years now. I have watched the game grow from it's pretty basic format to the never ending chase to get all of the dragon breeds. There used to be only about half as many dragons as there are now and I'm determined to get them all. I'm an organized and structured person, and one of my favorite features is being able to customize the islands how you please and having the ability to decorate with themes, decorations and paths around your dragons. That being said this is targeted at DECA. (Can you guys PLEASE create new paths and island themes for each and every dragon breed?? My OCD is killing me) Otherwise this game is amazing and challenging. It's not meant for you to get the breed you're looking for on the first try. And that's why I love it so much. It makes me want to come back and try again over and over until I get the desired results. It will take some serious commitment and effort to get yourself started, but once you get there you'll never regret it.

Love It So Much But A Few Things.... Ok I love the game and idea of DragonVale. For example and one reason I like it is there are a variety of dragons, buildings, decorations, habitats, and island themes/islands to choose from. But, a few things I don’t like are that a lot of things cost thousands of gems and you can pay up to $100!!!!!! That’s a ridiculous amount of money to be spending on an app!! Some solutions might be to have a trade center where you could trade any of your currency or items for a certain amount of gems. Also, some things take waaaaaayyyyyy too long to be done. But, I gave the app a five star review because there are also different events that go on in DragonVale. You can buy lots of cool things and dragons with whatever currency goes with that event. Also the contribution center which really has a boost for XP. Also I like the way you can go on quests and races for prize and pieces to unlock legendary dragons. That’s what’s really cool to me, how you can do different things to get pieces for legendary and mythical dragons. Thanks!!

More dream dragons. We first got this game for my nephew who loves dragons but was a little to young to read. So naturally we had to read him any notification and all the dragon info. Later he grew bored so naturally we had to take it over since it's so addictive. Ok where is the dream island theme? That's all I really want. Also more dream dragons, more scary looking dragons. Now let's have fewer dragons that look like chickens or dragons that were designed by an 8 year old girl. Looking at you "love" dragon. 2 more things. 1 more snow covered trees, make sure one of them has no leaves. 2 give us the option to turn off the blue glow on twin eggs. Also to anybody looking to download this game and is worried about in app purchases don't be. You really don't have to spend anything on this game more than 95% of our park is free to play. The other 5% is me wanting to send the developers money. I know this game is free but I want them to continue updating it so buy things from time to time. If you don't want to that's fine you can literally get everything in this game with enough patience.

Great game!. Overall this game is great! Something that’s better about this game than other breeding games is that it doesn’t pressure you to spend money to get progress. Whenever I played other breeding games, it would get to a certain point where things that are required to make process cost way to much for how much currency you get. This game doesn’t do that and allows players to make progress. It also gives players a large amount of chances to get the special currency (in this game it’s “gems”) which can be used for upgrades and such, which are not necessarily needed to make process. One chance it gives to make an extra gem is whenever you get an achievement (for example, breeding a specific type of dragon for the first time), you can share it on Facebook (used to be both Facebook and Twitter) which gives you extra gem. However, I don’t know if this is happening to anyone else, but whenever I try to post something on Facebook, it will say “posted” but the game will proceed to crash and not give me a gem. I’ve been sorta annoyed by this, but other than that I love this game.

Pleaseeee consider my review 🥲. I love DragonVale so much I’ve been playing since probably 2012! I get super overwhelmed with all the dragons in my park sometimes, but slowly cleaning up my islands and making them ascetically pleasing. I really hope that there can eventually be an update with a list of ALL my owned dragons with their names, levels, traits(plant fire etc..), and if I own an egg pedestal beside each one. A list that can be organized by either traits or rank would be perfect.. I’m trying to breed every dragon twice so I’ve resorted to listing out all the ones I’ve already gotten over the years via pencil and paper to keep track. That’s allotta years and allotta dragon's later. I only plan on keeping all the egg pedestals and my favorite/best dragons in the end. I’m so thankful this game isn’t always specifically about micro transactions, and that the events make it more possible to acquire things without necessarily purchasing anything. Though I have purchased my fare share of gems haha.

What’s happened to the style?. I’ve been playing this game for ages and it’s very close to my heart. It’s relaxing as long as you have some patience and it has consistently kept my attention. I think the general look of the game is really great and the designs of the dragons are wonderful. At least they were. I don’t know if it’s a result of new people or just a slowly changing style but all of the recently added dragons have butchered the style of the game. It’s like the designers don’t know what they’re doing. They’re all far too small, have bad resolution, look completely incompatible with the rest of the game and are overly detailed. The og style of the game was charming! The og designers clearly understood how to make unique and recognizable “characters” without going super overboard with cluttered designs and crazy effects. They all had complimentary colors, nice shapes, expressive eyes, etc. It just looks bad now. I actively avoid trying to get these new dragons. I hope in the future the dragons’ designs have a more simple and consistent style.
