No longer opens (update 1.0.1). I updated this app to version 1.0.1 and it will not open anymore. I have restarted, reloaded, etc and no luck. It WAS a good app but since I can't even open it, that's obviously no longer the case. DONT UPDATE!

It does not work on iPhone 13. This app does not work with on iPhone 13

Background audio setting. This might be a great program, but they made me angry when they turned on "Background Audio" settings with no warning. It was stuck with a red banner across the top of my screen and I couldn't turn the program off, it was stuck on all the time. I finally had do a search on the internet to find out how. You shouldn't have to search on the internet to figure out how to turn something off. It should come off and maybe suggest it in a suggestion and tell you how to turn it off. I spent the money on the Microphone, and another $5 for this app. I hope it was worth it, they already made me very angry.

What did you do to the app?. I lost songs. The songs that are still there are now all identified as "Recovered 1" "Recovered 2" etc..., and they are all out of mixed up in terms of date (all now dated as June 30, 2017), so there's truly no way to tell what's what. My phone didn't crash, the app was working fine before, so why did my tracks need to be "Recovered". Also, I can't check input level until it is recording. Double also, I keep accidentally putting these markers all over everything, and I can't figure out how to delete them. This is exactly the reason why I don't update apps if I'm already happy with the way they work. Why!? Why did I disobey my own rule!? Don't fix what's not broken, you nerds. Quit trying to make this thing into something it's not. It's an excellent quality sound recorder with some very basic editing features, and that's all it is, and that's fine. Now there's a bunch of crap I don't need. I don't need video recording. I don't need whatever other garbage you've added. Go back to the previous version!

App Crashes when processing edits. I have an iPhone X with the latest version. I find when using Cut or Crop the app crashes. When I use effects the app crashes and I loose the recording. When I open the app again the file is there but there is no audio at all in the file anymore. Anyone else have this issue?

junk. despite paying..I still get pop-ups...cant export...those are what I can only remember at the moment..I hate this app...

Update = FATAL. WAS extremely useful for school.. many ppl including me r screwed. 'file management is HIDDEN and not accessible thru itunes file sharing. The app no longer starts? praying for an updateee Lots of ppl r screwedddddd

Terrible update. Great program until this update recorded pure static for 30 min. Beyond disappointed can't get the recording back.

Wow it only works in Background mode??. What's up with this app? I just paid $5 in the free app to get the exact features in the $5 one? I only bought the paid one after purchasing the in app add ons in the free app because IT WASN"T WORKING. THe only time you can hear passthrough is when the app is BACKGROUNDED!

UI does not support iPhone X. The app is nice, it has some good features for mixing audio. The UI is lacking and doesn’t fit the screen for iPhone X.

Not Happy! CRASHES!. Crashes ! Same thing over a year ago , after almost a year not being able to use this it started to work, I figured it was a one time thing...... Again it CRASHES!!! FIX THIS !!!!!!!!!!!!

Needs a little work. This app seems to be pretty good but after paying for and registering it I can't open any of the processors .It shows me being registered and all available apps loaded but they won't open. Other than that not bad.

Good (it is what it is). Does what it says it does!!! In settings turn off Auto Rec & Background Audio to Rid the red stripe of doom, also if you own other IK products you just keep using the the same registration. It makes it easy, email, user name & password. I think if you could import audio, iTunes songs or maybe bounce tracks from VocaLive & back again I would give 5 stars. But maybe IK can put that in the update. I don't think I would have missed that one considering that it's supposed to go with VocaLive. Maybe the two programs should be merged together they both have something the other needs. IK how about a job???

Accessibility problem. I am a blind user of the iPhone and use VoiceOver for operation of the device. However the controls in iRig Recorder are not labeled very clearly with VoiceOver. A fix for that would be fantastic. Thank you in advance.

Crashes when editing. This app could be great but it crashes when you try to edit a recording

The Earlier Version Was Better. IK Multimedia makes great products, but the iRig recorder has suffered its most recent update(s). I am a musician and I used the previous version(s) extensively to record ideas, practice, rehearsals and so on, both with the guitar interface and the iPhone’s internal mic. It was wonderful. All the controls were large enough, easy to tap and adjust, and the audio record and playback levels were clear and robust. Perfect for songwriters, as that great idea can disappear while dealing with fiddly controls. This current version, however, moved the controls into tiny buttons very difficult to tap accurately. The record level setting now takes several taps, and is very weak at best. Every recording requires boosting, which increases noise. I’ve tried to remain faithful for months, but my patience has worn thin and the app must go. An audio recorder should function just like a camera, with the ability to either choose to point and click, or delve into advanced settings. My suggestion is to rework the interface to that end; make one-click recording and advanced settings into separate, selectable options, and make the buttons larger and more intuitive. In the meantime I have chosen to save all my recordings, delete the app and switch to Wave Pad, which is somewhat easier to use. I hope this helps other musicians make an informed choice.

Irig ok needs work. The main thing this needs is the ability to upload/import file and other than FTP if I have files that I want to import to edit I should have that option and it should be simple. Also when I leave app I get a red bar across top of my phone this should only show if I'm still recording not if all I did was leave app. Also I bought this to use Irig mic with iPad not phone this needs to be made compatible with iPad as well and needs a landscape mode for both iPhone and iPad

IPad Air 3 with iRig 2. My device combo performs the record function okay; but I am am coming to the conclusion that I would be better served using GarageBand. I really like my iRig2.

Not as good as previous versions. Old version was better that's for sure This one not user-friendly. Cannot preview volume level until recording Transferring has to many steps involved now Records sound quality great! Just made it really annoying to operate

IK Multimedia is run by stupid people. There is no better way to say this. If you don't "register" this app with them, this app records at such a low level that it is practically inaudible. Nowhere in the app is there an indication that you must register to get decent gain. That leaves the unregistered paying customer with the impression that this app is garbage. The other problem is that instead of having the gain handled on input, you're artificially adding the gain after the fact. Seems like this app was designed by some new hotshot marketing MBA grad rather than an audio person! Just TERRIBLE! THERE IS NO OTHER APP I'VE USED IN THE APP STORE THAT RECORDS AT SUCH A TERRIBLE LEVEL! ***NONE*** EVEN THE $2 APPS DO BETTER WITH **NO PROCESSING**! This app is a SLAP IN THE FACE to PAYING customers. This is so disgusting and revolting I want to delete the app and demand my money back! SHAME ON YOU IK MULTIMEDIA!!!! PULL YOURSELVES OUT OF THE DIRT AND SHOW SOME RESPECT TO YOUR PAYING CUSTOMERS!!!! ONE STAR BUT ***ZERO*** IF I COULD!!!!

Only seconds. Developer turned this nice app into garbage... The recorder only works for a few seconds They stops recording. I’ve had this recording app for years, bought all the filter and sound mods to the app, and used it very successfully with my iPhone 4s and my wife’s 5s, and recently with my 6plus s. I even bought and used the iRig microphone all worked seamlessly until now. Problems include but are not limited to Stops recording when I cover the screen - or put most of my phone in a pocket with microphone still exposed. Can’t be used with iRig microphone I can no longer figure out how to adjust the line in inputs R&L channels And never could use Bluetooth for playback, I wrote I got the reply “sorry but we are working on it.”

Excellent w/ iRig Pro hardware. This is so close to something amazing. The biggest thing is who in their right mind would select stereo / 44.1 KHz as a default setting for recording? Also, why do I have to change it to Mono and 48KHz every time I launch the app? Moreover, if I swap to another app, it forgets my settings. Once you select these settings, they should stick... Otherwise, a huge time-saving app paired nicely with IK's hardware. WIFI transfer / IP address port 5555 is excellent - although buggy at times. Fix these annoyances and you've got a winner!

Want my money back. Playback is not user friendly, waveforms don't always appear, can't return to zero, some songs skip at the end and I can't get it to stop without closing the song, audio not in line with locator, I could go on. Exporting to soundcloud is cool but for a $5 app these bugs make it almost unusable and need to be fixed.

Irritating!!!!!. This is a fair recorder, but only just so. The reason I'm giving it only one star is zero stars isn't an option. My reason for considering this gizmo a kluge is I can't turn the G.D. Thing off! And with such a degree of silliness, one would expect the people behind this dreary concoction to cover it in their FAQ list, but no. Next I'll try turning the phone off and see if that does the trick. Idiots!

Awesome app. Please add fast forward/rewind buttons. I love the iRig Recorder app. Definitely the best recording app out there. As an opera singer I use it all the time to record lessons and rehearsals. This means I need to go back to the recording and listen back and forth a great deal. You made this really easy in the Song module of Amplitube. However in iRig Recorder it's not that easy. Beeing able to see the sound wave and have a geographical notion of the recording is great, but really nothing replaces a fast forward and rewind buttons. Since we're at it, I would request another function that is really rare but incredibly useful: rewind by a set number of seconds: 20 seconds, 10 seconds, 5 seconds. If the parameter were programmable that would be awesome. But it's also possible to just have a short rewind time set and just press three times. Also, there is no easy way to export a file from iRig Recorder to Amplitube in the iPhone. Therefore if you could implement some of the awesome functions in Amplitube in iRig Recorder, that would be great. In the meantime, a simple fast forward button and rewind button would be a great but simple enhancement.

Broken since March, unhelpful support.. I have lectures, voice lessons recorded with this app, the last iOS update didn't seat well with it and I can't access ANY of my files. This app keeps crashing (and it's not the first time it behaves this way after some update). I contacted support, but they were not helpful AT ALL, first they just give you the run around, very simple and dumb "fixes" and as you explain to them you've tried all they just don't know what else to say but to try everything over again. I gave up on them once I realized they had no idea how to solve my problem. YOU GUYS NEED TO ISSUE A NEW UPDATE ASAP!! I'm not deleting the files in the hopes that the next update will somehow let me access them then I can ditch this digital garbage. And yes I know you'll reply saying that you're sorry for my troubles and that I should contact support. I'd say work on an update, since it's my last hope to recover my files. I'm not alone tons of reviews here are clear indication that your app is broken, but it may also be an indication that you just don't care anymore!

Horrible hissing sounds once everything hooked up in Audiobus. When using with Audiobus it causes audio to be really bad. Have tried multiple guitar apps and once it's all hooked up in Audiobus the sound is awful. Trying to make short guitar videos with guitar through apps like tonestack and JamUp. Once I finish the chain with irig recorder, the audio suddenly gets soft and hissing

Good. Waiting for v2.0. Overall a good app. Does what it says, even gives you a little tutorial manual. Registration is a little hassle, and shouldn't be there cuz of the price of the app, but I had no problems. Would like to have ability to MMS my recordings. Maybe I missed it? Thanks.

Disappointed. I bought the app and tried to register it and filled out what they asked. The thing kept telling me that my email is already in use??

Where is the Audio?. No sound comes out when hooked into Audiobus. It records but, I can't hear it until playback! Huh? What's up?

Seems promising but.... I don't like the fact that I need to create a user account with them for some functions to work or to see the user manual. I already paid my $5!!! It should be completely functional without requiring a registration. Anyway, I just created a new account and consistently get a "Unable to authenticate user" message. Other than that It seems like a great alternative to iAudition (which, by the way, does not require jumping through hoops to get full functionality). I know it's a 1.0 version, so i will update review and rating when it works as it should and the registration bug is fixed.

Not working with Audiobus 2 or 3!!!. Does not show up in the audiobus list of compatible apps now... I need this!!!!!! Please fix

Very misleading, do not be fooled. Don’t be fooled. This app does NOT work with amplitube. You cannot use it with an irig interface and record processed amplitube sound to irig recorder. Te work around is to use GarageBand as the inter app router. This is quite a hassle. Irig recorder works with GarageBand and amplitube works with GarageBand. Irig recorder does not work with amplitube. This has been frustrating enough to make me fully regret the app purchase and now I regret buying the irig hd x interface. The hd 2 I already had does all the basic stuff. IK should make their software work together or at least not be dishonest and claim that it does.

Needs work. Needs ability to continue on a recording or a edited session. A lot of times I record verses then title then listen to them to add more later so it would be nice to have the ability to record on top of and continue on a session or project that was previously started.

Brilliant!!. This app is great, worth the money. Good for musicians like me recording demos.

No Sound. Records well, can download and then play recordings, but cannot play on iPhone. What is wrong?

Can't believe how well it works.. I bought the iRig Cast mic to use on my iPhone for portability over quality and I was really surprised when the audio tracks recorded with this app were as good and sometimes better than the audio that I recorded using my Tascam handheld unit. I still prefer the Tascam for the operational functionality but when it's not an option the iRig recorder is the way to go.

Unusable. When I plugged in my iRig Pro, this app not only recorded the audio at the wrong bit rate (resulting in choppy, noisy playback) but also crashed when I tried to upload anything via wi-fi or ftp. For an app with a price tag of $16, this is extremely poor. Requesting a refund.

Remove the ads!. I have just purchased the full version hoping to get rid of the ads. Why do I still get ads in the app?

Terrible app support. Nice recording quality, love the mic sensitivity control But the scrubbing bar in the app does not work at all. I emailed the developer about the issue. They replies it will be fixed in the next update coming out "soon". That's all fine and dandy but that was months ago now?!! Brutal guys.

Underwhelming. I bought the irig cast mic and thought this would go well with it. I think I was wrong. It appears that if you tape a concert, you can't divide tracks, only "crop" one single file which is insanity. You think this would have more features like cut, copy, split. I'm empty inside after buying this.

Fatally Flawed. I purchased and installed this app on my iPhone 4 and iPad 3gen, both with the latest o/s. i made test recordings which was straightforward. However, on both devices the app couldn't be stopped as after exiting there remained a red notice bar indicating it was still active. I deleted the app from both devices.

Remove the Ads too.. I like their hardware and this little app. they record beautiful sound. I really hate how they try to sell you the software. They made many other apps besides this one but each apps offers many software variants or in-app purchase just to confuse the buyers. if you are not being careful, you will end up paying more than you should. I paid their in-app upgrade to export wav only to find out there is a full version IRig Recorder at bundle price. I waste my $ paying the in-app purchase. It seems their software business is to confuse users and trying to earn your money when you don’t pay full attention. Money grabber.

Features Needed Now. 1 ) Universal app. 2) Ability to remotely control a second IOS device, i.e., with app installed on iPhone and iPad, can start / stop recording on second device, via Bluetooth or personal hotspot.

Bluetooth not supported. This is a great little app for recording sound. My only request for improvement would be that it supported Bluetooth head phones while recording. This would cut down on wires shuffling around.

Not working well. When the phone falls asleep or gets shut off or leaves the app the audio stops! Please fix! The old version didn't

Good App - but it has a big flaw. Good App. It does what they say it does, but it has a big flaw. You can turn it off only by disabling it in the recently used applications on my iPhone. Something like this as I was instructed to do by one of the IK guys: - double-click on the Home button of your mobile device to view the most recently used applications - Touch and hold the application icon until it begins to wiggle, then tap '-' (minus symbol) - click the Home button to stop the apps wiggling - click again the Home button to exit the view of the recently used applications. Well, I really think that this App should have a Turn Off button or something. I`m sure that this is going to be integrated soon enough, because...this is too big of a flaw. Good App though.

Works well with the IRig Pro Duo.. The volume works well with the hardware. Two improvements would be a pan setting for stereo two mic recordings and somehow get it to work in the background so it could be used with Facebook Live. The work around for FB Live is to not use this app and use the camera in the phone with the IRig but it comes out hard panned stereo like a psychedelic sixties record. If the app or the iRig could add panning I’d give it 5 stars.

Works great!!!. This app works great on my ipad (3?) & iPhone 5 Its resourse intense so you shouldvprobably forget it on older devices.
