Long overdue!. An update to the original iMPC was desperately needed. Don’t expect to much more than a slimmed down version of the IPad rendition. It does in fact work and if you are familiar with the workflow, you’ll see that pretty much nothing has changed except the screen real estate. Perfect for grinding out some beats when you have spare time away from the lab. In my opinion much more than an impulse buy or something to just add to your collection of apps you never really use. This is essential for beatsmiths with Iphones Update: Nah B, Retronyms is playing us. Either Akai/Inmusic ain’t contracted improvements or they gave up. At this point it’s not nearly usable or desirable to use despite the high chart position

Massive improvement. The most powerful sampler on the go. Big improvements over the last version

Akai. The leader in the industry, wow. I am sincerely impressed with the use the use ability and compatibility. So easy to use and understand. Tons of extra content available. Satisfied customer, to say the least, a repeat customer.

Good can be great if??. Whom ever is responsible for this app than you people need to fix major bugs in it. Sometimes when u want to erase data during playback they won’t erase at times. The samples just cut out when trying to lay a sample across drums the sample is suppose to last 4 measures and it stops at 1 1/2.... good app if bugs weren’t ruining it Sent from my iPhone

Man!!. Why do I gotta buy the same sound packs twice on my audio copy..I have iPhone and iPad with both versions of impc2 on them and when I buy sounds it don’t unlock on both..I just paid for 5 sound packs cause the deal and it’s unlocked on my iPad but not iPhone

Great Improvement. I’ve been waiting for this to drop on the iPhone. Big improvement from the first one

Big upgrade for first version. I love it! Easy to use. I use as drum loop during our church services. Keeps everyone in time which makes me happy.

no support. Yet another of those appstore apps that has no people behind it that care. Bought the prerelease and installed audiocopy to get the included 4 sample packs that were in the content store the morning of the release. However they were not enabled to access and wanted to redirect to "buy" impc pro 2 again - wrote support, no answer... about an hour later Audiocopy gets an update with the note "added support for the impc pro 2 for iphone" and a bit later the first update to impc pro 2 for iphone also claiming added support for audiocopy - go back to the content store and what do you know all 4 packs that were there are now removed... wrote support again and again no answer. Not a great way to start an app launch and hoping not to regret this purchase. Fix this and I can rate it higher but for now it's a bit pathetic to mess this prerelease offer up right from the get go.

Product review. I gave the product 4of5 stars because the sound quality is just a bit under iMaschine. But, it makes up for that with the product offerings that are reasonably priced. IMaschine doesn’t offer many updates sound titles so edge goes to IMPC2. The amount of tracks vs IMaschine, edge again here. Overall a very big leap from the first one. Own this market and tweak the sound above or at IMaschine. Great product well worth buying. I really dig the ease of use.

I’m pretty happy.. So I had the original, the pro2 on my iPad which I never open. I downloaded this in hopes of it being stable and it having a quick learning curve as the track/ program or sequence or whatever baffled me and that’s the reason I put it on the back shelf. To my surprise and super relieved self this version clicked. I get it now and I’m stoked. This is much different than what I’ve been using in my iOS set of machines lately. IMPC Pro2 has a different movement and sound than my beloved GR16, Wave, Seek, ED, and the mighty set of Bram’s machines. This has easily fit nicely into my workflow and I’m happy about it. Of. Of course there are things that bug me about the iMPC but hey, this is iOS here and I’ll use whatever seem to 1st: Be extra fun to play with, and 2: Achieving good result. I’m accomplishing both on the pro2 for iPhone. Good stuff.

iTunes import. Now that iTunes is gone you can not import your own samples. There is a ton of bugs to work out in this app. Projects can’t be named and others. Keep your money until it’s fixed.

Crashes when trying to edit sounds from Audiopaste :-(. I went through sooo much work to figure out how to get my everyday recordings into iMPC as I’m not going to whip out the entire app just to record a sound, it’s inconvenient and drains your battery. So I finally get all my sounds into audiopaste, a horrible decision on inter-app partnership, but what do I know maybe that’s the only company doing that sort of thing. I can get the sounds loaded onto the pads but when I click “Edit sound” the app instantly crashes every time. This app is so close to being great I just hope it doesn’t end up abandoned like the last version.

Frustrating. I wanted something that I could play my own samples on and the process you have to do to import your own sounds into impc is ridiculous. I opted instead for another app that (unfortunately) has a monthly subscription fee. But the ease with which you could import your own samples was what I really needed.

Impc pro itunes turntable not working. Overall solid program, but itunes wont respond with the turntable sampler. Still waiting for them to update for months. Hopefully it gets fixed soon.

Hands down my go to drums. The first iMPC was cool but I never made anything not dj Sounding with it. With iMPCpro2 i make music. I use it live from my iPad/iPhone when it’s a surprise loop sets and solo guitar to producing hood rat beats for my friends. Now with I phone u can literally have a studio in your pocket.

Finally an iPhone version!!. First of all I have always loved Akai in general. Their hardware has spawned some of the best genres we love today. Also in my opinion, Akai in collaboration with great producers, have amazing samples. I’m just a huge fan of the sounds that Akai has in their arsenal, along with the sound packs from partners. I love the new iPhone version of pro 2. The only complaint I have is I cannot seem to get any 3rd party FX to open in the app. There are also a few Inter app audio applications that show up but won’t register. Idk if it is bc it’s a feature that is newer and Akai has a few kinks to wrk on, or I’m just doing something wrong. Also saving some of my wrk has been a little tedious. However I’m sure with future updates these few problems will be addressed. Other than that I’m very satisfied with my purchase. Especially getting it half off!! I look forward to see what Akai does next.

Hottest out. This the best reliable company software made ever, the production work is outstanding and smooth. I would recommend to everyone.

A bug in the system. This app was A-1. By far the best. There has been an issue with the latest Apple update that causes it to not sync up with your iTunes account. For that I give it a 1 star. Other than that, this was my favorite app.. Updated : the bug seems to be fixed and I’m loving iMPC

Please update!. This is one of my favorite iPad music apps, but they need to add mappable transport control’s and the use of Au3 fX and audio plug-ins. That’s the only thing I find myself missing from the workflow.

Dumb old man friendly. I’ve downloaded and purchased quite a few “iDaw’s”?,…? and this one, for me anyways, was and still is the most user friendly and stupid~assistive/tolerant apps I’ve come across, I’m still learning shttuff daily and not even near bored with it. That’s a super plus because generally if I can’t figure it out quick enough or it makes me feel like I should go get my geritol and take a nap, I’m deleting it Quick like. This lil beauty kept and keeps my attention and the learning curve isn’t a 90* angle, never thought I would learn as much about “music production” and diggin it all the while,…..what??!,… oh,…..medication time ms. Ratchet? OK

Feeling turned quick. I was super excited to come across this. I gave it a few days before I found my self here. But the first day I was already upset with this the import section. The only reason I wasted as much time on this app as I did was trying to get my personal drum kits and samples into the program. A simple drop box function would fix this and make this program 5 stars. I don’t want to re-record a file I want the same Quality at the original file. Honestly I’m mad I wasted my money this is not for a real producer. I don’t want your sounds I want my own.

Pleaseeee Fix the sampler!!!!. When I’m trying to chop my samples in the grid it seems like the slightest movement up or down resets all my samples back to how they were before I started dragging them. I’ve been trying to sample this clip for like 30 minutes but every time I get a few cuts I want, they all reset. Please just make the audio wave bigger wider or something so this can’t happen! Or fix the bug itself!

Akai lovers get this app. Hello Akai makers, I have the both iMPC app and the iMPC pro 2 app and I love them both. I made lots of songs on the iMPC and I would like to take those songs and edited them on the IMPC pro 2 app. Is there a way you can make that happen?

Auv3 Connection error. When attempting connect to the app “Magic Switch” by Baby Audio I receive an error connection message. PLZ HLP

chuck. hey i like the app but it would be so cool if we could link the impc pro 2 on ipad n iphone together n mpc live i show be able to send the beat on my phone to my ipad or mpc life is like the iphone have i cloud Account so I use that account for my iPhone and iPad so so anytime I make it beatson my iPhone Automatically is on my iPad

They don’t want you using you using your own samples. This app is awesome except, like other users have noted, it doesn’t have the *standard* ability to connect to your Dropbox or AudioShare libraries. You have to do everything through their “AudioCopy” app which is basically their store for samples. There are a few steps and you can import your own samples, but you have to open a *different app*, then import your sample into that app, then go back to iMPC and import your sample from their secondary app.... basically cutting you off from your own library, because you aren’t going to want to repeat this process every time you want to grab one of your samples. Just let us connect to our own libraries as expected. Let your great software speak for itself and make sales, don’t put up this in-app-purchase roadblock where we have to re purchase sounds to have any ease of use. It’s a great software, but if you like using your own sounds, look elsewhere for now.

Key group. Great app however it doesn’t have a key group without either having to create an entire program for 1 instrument to utilize it through pads or you can only use audio units... Will give a 5 star and would even consider advertising this app...

MPC Beats. Have you guys ever thought about making this into MPC Beats free version and add iap to it? Would make a lot of sense especially with how powerful IPads are becoming.

Must have. As part of my musical noodling, with the iPadOS version, the MACOS v, and an MPC ONE to round them out. Unfortunately it’s buggy. Right now there’s an issue on iPhone where adding a track makes the orientation flip so that there’s no way to choose from a drum program, audio unit, or live recording. It defaults to program. Usually pretty good at fixing such bugs.

Worthless. Just purchased and can’t connect. Can’t connect to audiocopy (their proprietary service where I, in theory, own dozens of packs that are apparently useless until they fix their app). And since they have this app completely locked down so you can’t upload your own sounds, this app is completely useless. What a sham - in the name of greed and incompetence

heres some improvements ideas. 1. allow to drag time in timeline 2.fixed monitor recording only hearing sound from the left earpiece 3.make the wave form screen more wider when recording a sample 4. maybe 60 sec recording? overall this app is 10x way better than the original impc app but i hope some good updates come along PEACE✌️

Not bad!. I would love to have the files sync with iCloud so that I can import them into Logic Pro.

Please add 3D Touch velocity. I love this, but there are actually two things I want. First off, you could add support for 3D Touch velocity, since this is an iPhone-specific port. That would bring the feel and functionality of the real MPC pads that we know and love, and provide a great level of human feel. Also then we could do the cool thing with beat repeat where you crescendo with pad pressure. Also, and I’ve asked for this before, there is pad layers. That is literally the only difference from the Mac/pc version. Having the ability to multi sample a drum, and have pressure or randomization chose one of four samples instead of just the one is THE BEST. PLEEEASE DO THIS!!! Love you guys

Mac hipster. Easy to use and sample everything with..Akai really stepped it up with this product.I feel like Charles Hamilton and now I got all the white women asking me to make a song about them okey dokey will do it right now..

Love it. I love it because I was still using the iMPC for iPhone then I seen this and this a lot better I’m just trying figure things out but overall I love it

Needs updates. Still very buggy. Crashes randomly at random times. Also crashes trying to load samples from audio copy. Used to be able to drop folders into the app but not anymore. Shame this app is not very much a focus.

Retronyms is a joke. This app along with a string of others made by Retronyms is a fly-by-night money making scheme…If you look at all of their apps, they have huge hype and then they never develop them… They make the initial money and then go on looking for greener pastures Don’t waste your money on it. I guess bad developers kind of define the good developers…Role model this company if you’re trying to be a loser.

Thankful that updates are still being made. Love the app The update solves some major issues but lost the ability of 16 level tuning sounds. Awesome app worth the pocket change 🙏🙌✌️

I like. Works great fro what it is making beats on the go instead of being stuck on the gram and I just save a project file and can open on the mpc x later and finish up👍🏽 only thing I would like to see is to be able to use the Splice app without hopping between apps and have to save to device then transfer to audio paste and then finally able to load up on the pads it gets annoying but like I said works great for what it is which is a phone app.

MPC for me!. Love the ability to make great music with this app I can dump it all into my MPC daw and use my mpk mini with it I’m crazy with it Akai needs to feature me on their platforms! I’ll show em how it’s done! Super dope app! Kudos!!!!

Update Bug ? Maybe ?. Not sure with the New iOS the App is faulty, but I noticed when using the turntable to sample from iTunes, the app shuts off making you lose all of your current progress. 5 star app prior to this, but the app is now useless if you’re trying to sample from iTunes. I’m almost certain it has to do with the apple update because the app was fine prior to that. I do know a few years ago the IMPC app became buggy when there was an iOS update. It took months before they fixed it. Hope that’s not the case again. Highly disappointed with this bug.

Crashing. Whenever you chop a sample the app crashes. I’m patient because I know there was a new iOS update and you all have to update your app to match the new iOS for the iPhones.

Wack,.... I have a iPad . It’s not as good as the iPad version and now I have to wait until I can afford to buy it. Super upset . Really wish I knew there are two versions ...

Glitch problem solved maybe. So I found out how to interapp add your instrument from other apps u have to select microphone unit then switch to inner app 84 phase then it works I have been with Akai since the beginning so I have played with the beat machine a lot and learned a bunch of twerks

Difficult to use but good!. The learning curve is not so easy on this app... i wish Retronyms could eliminate all the bugs from the iPhone version cause sometimes the glitches are distracting and frustrating. Nonetheless is a cool app for sampling and programing drums!!

I was playing smash when i got the notification of availability. Couple glitches while playing long samples but other than that kept me distracted from my switch for a while without even me noticing so giving props for that

Great app - Terrible file support - Not universal. You are have to go thru their ‘store’ and load via a very awkward interface. You should be able to access your libraries automatically within the program and wherever you decide to keep them, like iMaschine or any number of other audio apps. This isn’t rocket science, it’s lazy programming. You also, in effect, have to buy this TWICE if you want to use it full featured on iPad.

Forced to use 2nd app to import music, but app fails to work when connecting.. Was super excited to use this app but you are forced to use a different app to load samples and files. No big deal other than the fact that the app is never able to connect to the AudioCopy app. It just says failed to connect. Sooo the app is completely useless at least in my opinion. MPC is made for sampling audio, but not when you can’t add any samples. Of course you have to buy the app first to realize it doesn’t actually work.

Fun but laggy/buggy. App is too slow on iPhone. Sampler seems like a lot of fun but the lag makes it difficult to tell if my samples are too sloppy or not. Like I said, a lot of fun, just not very intuitive for someone trying a sampler for the first time.

Great little app!. Wanted to use this for mobile work but it is just a gimmick. So clunky and buggy. The workflow is a joke and I am an experienced mpc user. If you want something to play around with it is ok but good luck trying to use the packs they sell. Update: joke is on me or rather i am the joke. after i got the workflow down a bit this thing is awesome for the price. Is it an mpc live? Well no but it is usable and is a fraction of the cost. Just wrote some great music with it after learning the sound assignment system.

Just not for me. I really wanted to like this, and wanted it to be better than the old iMPC. I’ve worked with Korg Gadget, and just wanted an extension to this with more intuitive sampling looping and beat making. I don’t want to use any of the included packs just sample my own stuff. I was continually deleting slice points etc and just generally lost in the interface, just couldn’t get my head around what to do how to build up kits etc. The real time effects seem good, but I just can’t be bothered getting my material in to the program to use them. Unfortunately deleted on day one.

What happened to the Spotify support???. The reason I bought this was for its ability to chop samples from Spotify.. Not only is this ability extremely limited (it selects a random 30 seconds form a song you pick, and for some reason you can only access a few of your randomly selected playlists) but now when I go into my Spotify to select songs none of them actually show up or work!! Please fix this as this is why I bought the app! Also when I was able to chop samples out there is no way to auto fade the ends of the samples. So they either clip extremely, or I have to manually go and fade out each tiny little sample I assign to all 64 pads... This is really not what I expected from this app. Very disappointed.. Please rectify all this and I will change my rating..

App crashes constantly. How do I get a refund? Running on iPhone 8 Plus .

Continuously closes. This app continues to force close after loading samples from my iTunes library. Extremely disappointed. Buyer beware.

Cool app... Pretty functional little app this. Could improve the inter app connection for outside fix apps....

Surprisingly powerful. Really fun app doods I use it everyday 💚

No sharing of drum packs between iPhone and iPad??. Aside from the fact this app has to be bought TWICE if you want it on iPad and iPhone, but Retronyms has somehow thought it was a good idea to prevent me from using the sound packs I have paid for and used on my iPhone, on my iPad. The software is the same, audiobus is the same, but somehow, the drum kits are saved per device?? Absolutely ridiculous. You really expect people to pay twice for everything?

Latency. Not useable hit a pad and it reacts 2 seconds later

Keeps crashing. Cute but it keeps crashing. Sad that I had to pay for this but still can only use Garage Band.

Great fun. I love the way this makes the mpc a bit more quick to move around on and more visual. Great teaching tool. Though no ability to paste a sound to a pad is pretty bogus.

The best Daw ever.. This program allows me to do whatever is I can think of. Extremely fun and easy to use. It has reignited my love for music production.

Fix or update. Cool app but I find a lil bit of latency when hitting pads

Fix up. I downloaded the app a couple weeks ago and it’s been a challenge. The good; the app looks great, handy tutorials and for someone who is just getting started it’s visually appealing and user friendly. The bad; I can not sample from iTunes (on iphone) AND when I get samples from Spotify I’m forced to use some random 30 secs from the song. I’m able to make it work, but’s annoying.

Can’t load or find free sound packs. Disappointed that this process wasn’t easier. Can’t find free packs for downloading early.

IMPC pro 2 has the juice. I don’t review many apps these days……THIS IS HANDS DOWN DOPE🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥the ease of operation and sampling omg!!!……yo soundpack sickness, crazy editing capabilities ……catch the wave AKAI

Too many Glitches. I purchased this app and within a few hours it crashes and the pad does not play any sounds anymore. I have garage band and imaschine 2 and don’t have glitches like this. $8.99 for what for an app that I cannot even use, are serious?

Needs Updates. Crashes when I try to sample from iTunes library!!!!!

Please refund. This is good app. But i want refund thank you

Update please. The file system is STILL COMPLETE TRASH!!! AudioCopy is useless. Why is this still not compatible with audio share? Several years later it is still impossible to get your sounds into this app!!!

Sampler Bug. Sampler has a bug in that won’t allow recording to start at the zero mark. Record won’t even play just stays sick at zero.

Pretty Awesome Tool. I like it

IMPC. Great ideas, with major flaws. When I try to use the turntable feature and select iTunes it keeps blacking out and then sends me to the project page. Contacted the company on IG and not a single reply. It had potential that’s for sure. iPhone X.

App Crashing. Everytime i go to sample a new sound the app crashes

Blue wire. The only thing that I find lacking is the lack of Bluetooth midi connect ability. Maybe there can be an update to the app where it will except Bluetooth midi. GarageBand uses midi Korg uses midi so why not MPC pro.? Thanks for listening.

Produced by Ezillacapone. I love this software tool. So great very user friendly. I make beats parked in my car when I’m on the go. It’s a must have tool.

Best creative drum pad app ever no phony issues lol. My only review is where is AKAI impc 3 ?

Loving this app!. MPC on the fly! Sample, cut and chop over beats straight from my phone or pad. Crazy! A couple of adapters and my ability is endless. Anywhere anytime......

Crash. After I chop the sample and hit done it crash haven’t had a chance to use it yet

Not happy with product. This software is loaded with bugs. Very unstable which makes it extremely hard to get a work flow going. The design and concept was brilliant, but akai didn’t deliver with this. I wish I could get my $9 back

Good for quick production, kinda buggy. Does the job for making beats and music quickly, has some decent mixing capabilities and some great sound packs but it also will just skip over notes during playback sometimes.

Impc2. The app is EVERYTHING it says it is and a life saver for my career as a artist and producing

Used to be good. Idk why but now you have to hold down to for a sound to play when you could just hit it once and the whole loop would play. They’ve def screwed this up

No cloud support. No iCloud integration to import your own samples, you have to jump through hoops and go through their additional app (AudioCopy) to import your own samples instead of importing the samples natively

Rook Media. I am happily married to my aunt busy thousand XL since the year 1999🎹🎧🎤

Step it up ❗️. Can’t set sample length past a minute ,also can’t import other instrumental to lay vocals over❗️BeatMaker 2 is killin Akai when it comes to IOS production and that is the facts . It’s not compatible with Dropbox A lot of other music apps that I use !! I expected more from Akai 👎

Can’t use after updating.. I updated and now I cannot use the software. I made lots of beats that I can’t even access as a result.

The Best MPC ever!. Using 3rd party audio units as a plug in works perfect🤩 👍🏽. Please Akai don’t leave this App hanging out there collecting dust 💨.

MPC = My Playlist Canceled. Good luck making an original piece of music with this app. Without being able to use your own sounds/samples. This app becomes just another money grabbing toy.

Warning Do Not Purchase!. Read carefully before purchasing this app. It is not intuitive and in no way replaces sequencers both in the box or hardware. Garage band is free and will give you better results and will be far more intuitive. If you do purchase it will be too small for iPhone use.

Minor stuff but otherwise mad awesome. I love the new beat maker MPC pro too it’s awesome there are just a few minor things but just to start with is that ableton link freezes the app.

DO NOT PURCHASE!. No Support at all. It’s pure junk on iPhone. Works on iPad but you have to pay additional money for iPhone app that doesn’t work.

AMAZING. THIS THING IS AMAZING! This is everything I hoped it would be and SO much more. This is a beautiful app!

Composition on the run!. Great tool for laying down ideas on the run. When ever inspiration hits the app delivers....beats ...chords with interapp synths...song constructing...Loving it!

Pro. Has all the features of impc pro 2, but somehow it fits in my phone.

Something wrong. Wats wrong with the app it uninstalled by it self now I can’t install it back

Can u hook this version up to a mpd218. Not sure if u can hook this version up to a MIDI controller

Great app a lot to work with. Ithink this app is good almost to good

Awesome app when not crashing. Great Digital MPC when the iTunes playlist syncs up without crash

Scam with the AudioCopy!!!!. Scam with the AudioCopy!!!! Reading the help menu it states that you can download additional iMPC PRO Packs content from AudioCopy and there would be no change???? Did exactly what they said and guess what?!!! I was charged and now I cannot get a refund even though I didn’t download the sounds yet!!!!! Apple store says no refund!!!!!! Not cool!!!!

Fix the crash issue. It always crashes 👎

Don’t download on iOS 13. Can not sample from iTunes functions crashes app every time.

Overall great app. Really dig this version compared to the original. I’m wondering if the iPhone version is different from the iPad version.

disappointed. it’s a let down that you can only download sample packs from audio copy and none from readdle documents. this is very limiting I hope you fix this and please make the pads available in a full screen mode.

Kinda crazy!. I can’t believe I have a mpc in my phone?!?! The future is here.. great job guys.. only thing keeping from getting 5 stars is.. 1. Full level mode for iPhone version.. 2. An option to expand the pads to full screen with transport/track/sequence controls. 👍💪🙌

App is buggy. I purchased this app to create music. However, upon opening the app, I realize NONE of the beat pads work upon opening a new project or even a demo project. I hit “New sound” under the Tweak tab and it crashes the app. I can’t place any new sounds to the pads because it crashes the app. I can’t even hear the sounds on demo projects because nothing plays or reacts. What’s up with this app?? I’m on iPhone 7 and have the phone updated to current iOS as well.

Nice concept but..... The app crashes after sampling from iTunes... 🥺

Love this app!. This is the next best thing if you can’t afford a standalone unit.

Excellent music production app!. I love this app. Just got into music production as a new hobby and came across iMPC Pro 2 and instantly new I was going to purchase it. “No ragrets.” Get this now!

Mui Bien Sehr Gut 非常好 Very Good बहुत अच्छा Très Bien Очень хорошо. PLUS - It doesn’t download over the older version. Past work is still saved.

App crashing. Something is wrong with the app, everytime I try and import a new sound it crashes please fix it

Audio too low. Great interface , But very low on headphones & Bluetooth speaker Barely Audible. Hope there will be an update to fix this.

Misleading. Can’t load samples from my playlist in iTunes. I know there’s rights to songs but at least let me sample what I want without the runaround. I have to buy the songs first? That’s a waste of time and money. But overall it looks and feels dope.

IMPC pro review. I’m new to mpc but I’m dedicated to learning as much as I can after getting the app!
