NIce recipe manager.. I had to switch to this app after Yummy Soup stopped updating. It is a good manager.

I do love this app BUT,. It is not user friendly. If you forget an ingredient and want it in order, you need to erase everything you wrote after, you can’t just slide it in. Also, when writing ingredients it would be helpful if it automatically goes to alphabetical list.

This app is one of the BEST.. I have tried quite a few and right now it is working for what I need. Does more then those other apps, easy to use, does what it says and no problems. Once I fully go through it all and there’s no problems, then I will give your app a FIVE STAR!

Excellent update!. An excellent app for the busy family! The iPad is an excellent device for organizing things in one place, and Serving Sizer makes this incredibly easy to do for the kitchen. Well thought out design, and feature rich. Great job! Also, the developer is very responsive to emails regarding questions/requests. Thanks for the update!

Good app. For most part, I'm happy with this app. I'm not giving it five stars as it often breaks my ingredients putting part of them in the "direction" column. This can be worked around but is more work than I wish to do if it moves a number of ingredients over. I, also, have been unsuccessful importing directly from a website....I have to copy and paste. I realize this sounds like a negative review but I really do like this application and would love it if these things could be corrected or someone could tell me what I'm doing incorrectly.

Worthless. I have yet to be successful importing anything into this apple by any of the methods available. Itdoesnot recognize imorts from any websites or from plain text pastes. Worthless.

Recipe Manager - Good App. I love this app overall. Would love more flexibility in entering amounts, easier entry of similar spices, faster email of recipes and saving of entries when changing to a new iPad. (I lost all of my entries when the app was backed up to the cloud but not my contents! I lost over one year work of recipes!!!)

IOS 17 problems. When I added IOS 17 to my ipad the Recipe Mgr app had problems. First, the app would crash if I tried to print a recipe. Second, when I created a new recipe I could add the first item but couldn’t with subsequent items. I love the app and hope the trouble will be resolved quickly. Thanks

LOVE the new update. Just wasn't efficient, time-wise, to manually enter recipes. Just finished trying out the new import from web feature on a few recipes I have been meaning to write down--FABULOUS. I love to cook and try new recipes and this will definitely fuel that fire. Thank you.

Made one and a half entries then removed. I tried to find a video of how to enter information and that should have been my clue. I finally entered one recipe and was almost finished with the second when I got kicked out of the program. When I went back in, none of the information was there for the second entry except for the title and categories. Waste of $5.

Recipe manager. I just got this today. I hope it proves to be a good app. So far I am having trouble importing recipes. We’ll see.

For me, worth the price.. On a good day I am not the best at adding fractions of this and cups of that. For that reason this app has been very useful. Scaling up a recipe for 6 to serve 45 people was quick and easy, Took the iPad to Sam's and was able to get everything I needed, very convenient. I also like all of the recipes that are available online and that are formatted to be used in this app. Good job, well recommend.

Great app. I’ve been using this app for years now. It’s a great app that easily allows you to convert recipes as long as it’s initially set up properly when you enter it in. I manually enter all mine so I’m not sure about the import option. Recently I started having an issue where the ingredients would over lap and I’d have to shut down the app and reopen. I also love being able to easily share my recipes thru email or print them.

Love this app. I have loved this app since I first purchased it 2-3 years ago. I experiment and create a lot of my own recipes and this app is excellent for keeping track of what I did, how well it worked and what to tweak for next time. I love the new update. a fresh new look and some additonal options.

I love this app!. If I could make any changes to it, if it could receive recipes from other users right into our recipe box that would be great!

So So. I have a couple of version of recipe software from different companies. This is the most difficult one to use. Ingredient side does not line up with the direction side. When using there ingredient section many ingredients are not in their list and, it is difficult to add them to the list. System is much to time consuming to add recipes so I don't recommend it.

Recipe Manager. I love this recipe box! I really like that I can get recipes from other sources and download them to the recipe manager.

Could be a little better. Using the app is difficult at times. The app will turn off while entering data and doesn’t have a back up if you accidentally delete a recipe you are working on.

Great app but...?. I've just started using this app and so far I'm loving it. I do have minor observation: I haven't seen an option for notes, i.e modifications made to recipes over the years. If this option is there can someone tell me where it is Updated review: is there a way to back-up the recipes to iCloud? I spend time adding recipes and if I have to restart my iPad for whatever reason, all of my recipes are gone.

Great app. I enjoy using this for all my recipes. If I just get someone to load them all for me. Ha ha. There were times when I was having trouble with serving amounts. I worked on a little bit and it’s much easier now.

Lost everything!. I used to love this app until tonight. I was adding a recipe, the app froze up, kicked me out, and deleted everything... Almost 2 thousand recipes. Ive rebooted several times and it's all gone. I've now lost family recipes of deceased family members I can never get back. Don't rely on the app like I did and keep your paper recipes as back up.

Love this app!. This is my go to almost daily. So easy to use can paste recipes, share and edit too!

Great App. I've been using this app for several years and I am very happy with it. Early on I took the time to play with the app so I could have a good grasp of how I could make it work for me. I am giving the app 4 stars instead of 5 because I do wish that I was able to view my recipes on my iPhone. Even tho I plan meals and make a list before going to the store, I sometimes think of a recipe I would like to make while I'm at the store. But can't always remember all the ingredients. I always have my iPhone but do not carry my iPad around with me. To be able to view the r cite and adjust number of servings would be sufficient for the phone.

Ok app. It’s a good app but I lost the recipes I entered and they showed up later. This time I lost the and they haven’t showed back up.

Great idea, poor programming. Very disappointed in this app. After reading the reviews I thought I was purchasing a good app to store my recipes, but not the case. After trying to import about twenty recipes and only successful on three I will count my losses and look elsewhere. Not worth the price!

No stars. No place to mark no stars. I am changing this to 5 star.. Is it possible on the cloud to get my ingredients back? If so I will write a good review. Twice my ingredients disappeared for a few days. The steps were there. I was panicked but now are back and have not disappeared. I use this every night and I love it. Thank you

Recipe box. Have had app for a few days. Nice for inputting my recipes. Some ingredients are not in the system. Have no figured how to import recipes from on line. So So experience.

Still needs work. The app needs a simpler method to backup recipes. Adding recipes takes a lot of time. Twice my Recipe Manager Serving Sizer entrees have been wiped out. Once, when there was a electronic problem with my iPad. The 2nd time, I don’t know what happened. I like the app...hate its reliability.

Extremely useful app. I put recipes in as I use them, slowly replacing my box of recipe file cards. I like the copy feature for adding recipes from online sites. I love using the app while cooking. It’s easy to modify recipes and make notes while cooking. Certainly easy to find recipes, too. All around good app for anyone who likes to cook a variety of dishes from recipes.

Really difficult to use. A ton of steps to simply enter a recipe you already have,,, I want to convert my book of recipes to iPad,, this app would take hundred of hours to add your recipes

Useful but has become outdated. Great app for having recipes always available. Easy to share recipes, but not easy to import recipes from another user. Recommendations to developer: 1. Allow all storage to be in the cloud and automatically sync between devices aka photos. 2. Allow users to transfer a recipe via email or message and then be imported without typing into receiving device. 3. Make app available for iPhone. I frequently do not have my iPad with me but I am never without my phone. Updated 11 Feb 2021: This app has become increasingly out dated. The failure of the app to store data in iCloud and allow automatic interchange of data between platforms. The creator’s comment that they have another iPhone app and data can be copied manually just doesn't cut it. If you haven’t bought this app and invested years if time adding recipes, then don’t waste your time on this outdated and limited app. Look elswhere. 4 October 2022: When importing recipes, this app frequently puts several of the recipe items into the directions. If I had not been using and adding recipes to this app for over ten years, I would ditch it.

Most pleased. This is the best and I have looked everywhere.

This is not as advertised. Been trying to import from various websites and nothing works. App keeps quitting while trying to import from web. I’ve tried over 10 different web sites including the recommended internal to the app. Also, it is not user friendly when you copy and paste from elsewhere. Don’t believe the hype.

Terrible!. Worked when I first downloaded a few years ago , I loved it, but then recipes are all jumbled up and unreadable! I deleted and reinstalled. Lost all my recipes, and the sample recipe they give is all jumbled and in readable. Very disappointed. I loved this app at first.

iPhone supported app. I love using recipe manager, great app! One problem: I wanted the app for my iPhone since my phone is always with me. I was advised to use your Serving Sizer w/Recipe Manager for the iPhone. I added this a few years ago with your advise and imported all my recipes off my iPad. When I did this, my recipes were not in alphabetical order on serving sizer for my phone. It took me forever to put them in order so I could find my recipes. There is no search module, making this app pretty useless unless you take the time to put them in order. My iPad is where I add all my new recipes so it would be the “main” app which you also advised. Since I have not added any new recipes on my phone for a few years, I asked my husband to back up my iPad and then import my recipes into my phone so they would all be current. They imported fine, I think, but now they are all out of order again. I have 225 recipes. I am so disappointed that this app (serving sizer for iPhone) has not been updated. Can you please help me so that I don’t spend hours putting them back in order and to make sure that all the recipes did import?

Outstanding application. I have been using this app for sometime now. Are use it for two reasons: -to collect and store my favorite recipes -Very easy to use serving size changes But most importantly is the ease of use

Best one I’ve tried!. I have put all of my recipes into this database. I love the way I can “speak” the directions into my iPad and it is really accurate with the spelling and punctuation. Really reduces the chore of typing.

One of my favorite apps. This is one of my favorite apps. I love how it will divide recipes for me when I want to reduce my recipe for a small number of people. The app is easy to use. I can share my recipes w/ family members. And its dependable. I’ve never had a problem with it. I highly recommend this app!

Copy and paste?. I was looking google food receipt, for 4 hours over a few 100ths I copy but it want paste , does not recognize the way receipts are written, looks like you have to type them in yourself, which is a time consuming work. I am disappointed, the few receipts addresses they provide many also to not recognize the way receipts are written, Sending notice to recipes placer to change there way of writing receipts, is fruitless , a few answered me , sooty we can’t change it

Great App.. I use this app frequently and love it but I wish there was a way to back app in my cloud.

Almost Perfect. I LOVE the idea of this app. I've been looking for something just like it for my mac book air. My only issues are that typing and searching for ingredients is tedious. If only the process of inputting everything was easier. Maybe if this was available on my Mac or a pic version, that problem may resolve itself. Again, love the idea! Be able to print the recipes to share with friends is something it seems that no other app offers!

Doesn't work. I never pay for apps. However, I was looking for an app to organize all of the recipes that I have saved from websites. Currently, I have a ton of them bookmarked and it's hard to find what I'm looking for. I bought this app because it had good reviews and it was exactly what I was looking for. Unfortunately, out of the first 10 recipes I tried to import only 1 would work. It just keeps saying that the format is not supported. I finally gave up. Apparently I just threw $5 down the drain and I'm not happy about it!

Awesome recipe box. I have been using this app for many years on several devices. I absolutely think this is the best recipe app ever. I have tried very many others and this one by far is the best. Thank you for it.

Super App. This app does it all. You can import recipes or type them. It is better than a cookbook. It is easy to find, organize and print your recipes.

Problems please help. Love this app! I have noticed a problem recently that I cannot edit my recipe ingredients. The list of items only partially opens up not enough to function properly. I can type a new recipe or copy and paste but I do not relish the thought of re-entering all of my recipes. Please advise if there is something I am missing. Thank you for your time.

Why?. Why is it that because I use metric measurements it converts cup/ teaspoon/ tablespoon measurements to mls? We in the metric world use cup spoon measurements too!!! Frustrated.

Love it!. Just what I have been looking for! Being able to copy and paste recipes and accompanying photos from the web makes it very quick and easy to build up a searchable collection of virtual recipe cards.

Dont waste your money. Stupidly hard and complicated to use. The ingredient addition system is clunky and the conversions to metric dont work properly, everything ends up in mls which obviously doesnt work. Swing and a miss. I much prefer recipe box.

Serving size. Quite time consuming to enter in a recipe, a cumbersome app to use I found.

needs a few updates. has a great look and easy to use but would like a few changes made. when adding ingredients in tablespoons and teaspoons stop converting them to 14ml or 4 ml. I have no idea what they are when i use recipe especially if i have to use 1/2 or 1/4 amounts etc. I would also like to see a section where in ingredients you can choose if its diced, julienne, chopped etc. will give 5 stars if these are changed.

Wish list... Good app but can you add nutritional calculation feature??? PLEASE!

Not bad. It’s a pretty good app, but there are some shortcomings. Some improvements would be in order. PROS - All recipes are in one place and organized 😊 - I like to copy recipes from Facebook, but I just paste the whole thing under the Directions — too time consuming to pick quantities and ingredients from the left side of the screen. 😞 - You can access your recipes without Wifi😃 CONS - It’s very cumbersome and time consuming if you’re typing in a recipe from scratch, entering all the quantities and ingredients on the left side of the screen.☹️ - Once a recipe is in Recipe Manager, you can’t copy the text and paste it into another app (such as a text msg or Messenger) — used to be able to, but not any more ☹️. You can only Email it from Recipe Manager. - If you get a new IPad, the saved recipes don’t transfer across to the new device… so you have to somehow save your recipes (possibly email them to yourself) and start all over again☹️.

Ann789. Great app. Except in the case when you have to change or upgrade your iPad. All the measurements have to be reentered. Everything ends up lumped together on the right side of the page. So if you have a lot of recipes, it will take forever to reenter them into proper format.

Import and export. I like the way the recipes are displayed and it is fairly easy to add recipes. However there should be a share feature so that you can share the recipe with friends using recipe manger and they can easily import. Also there does not appear to be a back up feature. I don't want to lose my recipes.

Best recipe manager!. I have used this app since it first came out. I have to admit it was very limited at first, however the last update rocks! It is very easy to use and with the current update you can now import recipes from anywhere. Very simple, nothing complicated. Can change serving sizes on the go. I recommend this to all my friends!

App. Once I got the hang of using it, I really enjoy. Just wasn’t thrilled that I had to pay $6.99 for app, when all my friends who have the identical same app, paid nothing.

Recipe Organizer. Love it, finally found something that I can put all my saved recipe's into, and email them to friends and family.

Needs improving. I would really like to give this app a five star rating compared to other recipe apps, but they really need to fix how the ingredients are put in! Either just allow us to input each ourselves (which would be much faster!) and get rid of the list you have, or allow instructions for ingredients and allow size of can (etc)! Things come in various sizes. If I could enter how many, and what size ingredient..it would be the best!

The idea and layout is good but fix the bugs!. I have been using this app for years but I find that it’s bugging out too much now and I will most likely change recipe manager app.

Best recipe app!. This is the best recipe app in my opinion, well worth the few dollars. Can type in my own, can copy and paste , etc. and also take pictures of the recipe. It’s so organized I think the best thing though is I thought I lost everything when my old iPad crashed , it wouldn’t even turn on. When I bought a new iPad, turned iCloud on….everything in my recipe app transferred onto it ! Thrilled ! I’ve been using this since 2012!

Still early days but hopeful.. I am hoping this app will help me organize my recipes so that I can find the one I want when I want it. I am also trying to get rid of all of the loose papers, magazines and cook books that I only keep for one recipe. I found the first few recipes challenging to enter but that was my own fault, I never read instructions. Having said that, it only took me a few tries to make things work. The next test will be how easy it is to find the recipe that I want when I want it .....

Just okay. This app is just okay because it is time consuming to insert ingredients into the ingredients section. Each has to be typed by hand, no copying and pasting here. Yes, you can copy and paste them into the directions section, but if you want to put them where they belong, typing every single one is required. Even scrolling through their list of ingredients to input with a single tap usually requires creating a new ingredient to the list by adding descriptive words to the ingredient list by typing in words like, "diced, or ,"chopped". And this is required for every ingredient that has a description with it.

So cool. I was just telling my daughter about what kind of app she should be looking for as she cooks for a summer camp and presto there it was. This is so perfect as she can easily change her recipe size to meet the group size instantly.

Finally, Organization in My Kitchen. I have recipes all over my kitchen. This app allows me to keep them in one place.

Awesome. I love this app, only I wish I could have all my recipes on my phone also, would make it easier when I'm grocery shopping. Love it

In constant use. I have used this app since it first appeared. It was awkward to use at first but over time there have been many improvements. The copy and paste feature is a big bugaboo and pulling recipes over from internet sites can be a hit and miss proposition. But given those caveats I still find I use it constantly.

Best App Ever!. I was having a hard time organizing my recipes. I love this app! It makes everything so much easier. Not only to find the exact recipe I want but in order to make big recipes smaller. I come from a large family so most of the recipes I have are for 10+ people, now I can easily change the serving size without doing the math in my head! Recipe Manager with Serving Sizer for ipad. Not happy with this at all.. not good instructions. It says you can add your personal recipe cards, which is why i bought this. Why charge 4.99 for this when i got a better one for free?

Disappointed. I am seriously disappointed in this app. It takes forever to input information - there is no way to import recipes from websites, so everything must be hand typed. This problem is made worse since you can't add multiple ingredients at once. You must add one ingredient, then exit out of that part of the program, then renter it to add another ingredient. Doesn't sound so bad, but the extra time and annoyance adds up quickly. The "add" features don't always work, so I can't add categories. The search feature doesn't search properly. If I search "dessert" it doesn't pull up things in that category. The overall look is dated and unattractive. Given this was the most expensive and most rated recipe organizer, I expected much more. This was a total waste and creates more work than it saves.

Love it, could be better. I looked at several apps for my recipe collection & chose this one for ease of use & functionality. Love being able to email recipes directly from the app, in a smart & printer friendly format. Two suggestions: Add a shopping list feature like some of the other recipe apps have, and add the ability to import recipes directly from Facebook and Pinterest? Then I will gladly rate 5 stars!

Almost perfect!. This app is almost perfect! Most of my recipes come from the web and it is very easy to retrieve the pictures from other sites and to copy and paste in directions. Unfortunately you cannot copy and paste ingredients into the ingredient section...the ingredients have to be entered manually with their specific measurements if you want to be able to scale the serving size up or down. If you don't think you'll need this feature, just cut and paste the ingredients into the direction section and it will still look appropriate on the recipe card! I also wanted to create breaks in the ingredients list and after contacting customer service (which is awesome, they responded in less than 24 hours) they suggested I manually input an ingredient that looks like this -----sauce-----, or -----filling-----, and it will create a visual break in the list. It doesn't look as polished as the ingredient lists in magazines and online because of spacing etc, but it is functional. I guess if I cared about aesthetics that much I would just copy and paste ingredients in the direction space as I mentioned above. Finally, it would be awesome to see the imported picture in the actual recipe, not just the index and edit page. Aside from those considerations, I love the app's organization and scaling. It is very intuitive and user friendly, and it is easy to create new ingredients and edit recipes. I am very excited to finally have my recipes in one virtual place.

LOVE IT!!!!. I have slowly but surely been adding all my recipes to this app! I love it. You can double or half the recipe easily. You can create a shopping list. Probably the best thing I like about it is you can instantly email a recipe straight from your device. Easy peasy. The only con is sometimes you have to enter the ingredients a few times. There's a few bugs there. Well worth the money. No more binder with recipes sticking out everywhere.

Great app. Love the app. I am sure I will use it a lot. Easy enough to learn. The only thing so far I find that I don't care for is that when ingredients are to taste, you always end up with a zero in front of ingredient. An addition that would make this an awesome app would be being able to see the nutritional values, calories and such for recipes, including own recipes. I have been searching for such an app but so far no luck. Otherwise, great app!

Review. Like the app so far. Have just started using it. Would like a provision in the measurements for ' can' as a lot of my recipes use a can of pineapple or a can of Milnot or a can of Chili Beans. Gets frustrating trying to figure out ounce to a particular can when use of the word can would suffice. Hope you will make this an iPhone app also and have it talk to the iPad. Always have my phone with me but not necessarily my pad if I should need to share a recipe with someone else or get to the grocery store and need to check for an ingredient

Nice app but does not sync with iCloud. Great graphics and easy to manually enter recipes. We have multiple devices and the recipe data does not sync with iCloud. Need the recipe data to sync on all of our devices to help with shopping list etc. App (supposedly) backs up to iCloud in case of data loss and we will test that before we spend a lot of time entering our old family recipes. Will rate it higher when the developers add the sync feature.

Good App to organize your recipes. I really like this application. It is very easy to use. So easy to add you own items to the already hundreds of ingredients. I have been looking for something like this for a while. What I particularly like is the fact that you can copy and paste.....otherwise this would be too time consuming for me. The only draw back for me is the measurements. I need 2 cans of tomato sauce, however, I could not add this. I could put in 32 oz, but then it came back as 1 quart. I prefer 2 cans of 16 oz tomato sauce in a recipe. I just created it as a new ingredient since I could not get it show the measurements I prefer. It is very easy to add a new ingredient, so this was not much of an issue. If you are looking for a place to store your recipes, I do recommend this app.

No more cookbook clutter!. A little time consuming at first but the more I used this app the easier it was to use. I love being able to store my recipes on my iPad and cooking in the kitchen has become easier with no more messy finger prints on my recipe cards. Passing my recipes along to my friends is also a breeze. Love this app and would recommend the purchase however I do wish you could import recipes...maybe an upgrade will be made in the future

Great app. This is a wonderful and easy way to manage your recipes and to take them with you when you want to fix something at someone else's house. It took a couple of recipe entries before I realized what I was supposed to do to enter a recipe efficiently but generally it is user friendly. The search function doesn't work as well as I would like - I enter a category term that I know I have entered but I frequently don't get accurate results.

Caterers Dream. As a part caterer and confectioner, this app is a dream. One of my recipes that I use often can stay scaled at ten servings, or I can scale it up to 200 serving. This not only saves me time doing the math, but it saves me time setting up my list for my purveyors. This is the best recipe management app I have found, so I don't even bother to look any more. As none of them compare. This app is worth ten times the price that they are asking for it. Thank You, Mama Lupi

Sam. I have now been using for 3 weeks. Greatest app ever for this use. I'm inputting my piles of notes into beautifully organized recipes. I have had two small stumbles when I could not figure out how to do something. Each time I sent a question to their contact us email and received an answer within 12 hours that was easy to follow. I travel to a second home and this makes my grocery shopping easy . I don't have to sort thru what I might want from the scratch paper notes that are in too many piles. Thank you

Love it!. I looked at several apps and pondered which one to purchase for several months. After rereading the reviews I decided to invest in this app. I'm so pleased with my decision. It is user friendly and within minutes I had my first recipe entered. I'm so thankful that all my favorite recipes will be a touch away, no more flipping through cookbooks or recipe boxes. I love the recipe sizer. This comes in so handy now that there are only two of us home. I wish my recipes were accessible across devices. I wouldn't have to worry about forgetting an ingredient when grocery shopping.

Fantastic!. I am constantly testing and tweaking recipes for use in my business and this app replaced pages and pages of scribbled notes and revised measurements. I can easily categorize and rate my recipes as well so I know which ones to revisit (or toss in the circular filing cabinet). I also love the conversions between metric and US standard as well as tailoring my recipes to larger or smaller quantities. This app is definitely an easy to navigate and useful tool for both serious or casual cooks.

Ok but not great. This app is good, but will not let you add words like box, can or other descriptions to the ingredients list. It only adds the name such as Cake Mix. If you want to have the words Yellow Cake Mix or White Cake Mix, you have to add it to the list. When I wanted to add 1 stick of melted butter, all it had was butter. Also, you cannot add words like 20 oz to the ingredients. You have to add the entire entry (20oz can crushed pineapple) to the master list. Also, if you want the pretty designed cards, you have to pay extra. I will be looking for another app that doesn't require work.

Almost great. Perfect for entering and using your own recipes. You don't get bogged down searching through hundreds of recipes you will never use. Easy to enter ingredients and directions. Conversion feature is very useful. Great UI for viewing recipes while you are cooking. REALLY NEEDS a way to organize and search recipe cards. That and a shopping list feature would make it a 5 star app for sure.

Great app. It does take a lot of work initially to get all recipes in but then you have them wherever you go and whatever kitchen you land in! Easy to use, lots of nice features, can email recipe from app. Wish you could directly input recipes with another person with the same app but if you can, I haven't figured out how yet. Overall, great app to save your recipes!

Decent App, not user friendly. Has a good organization platform. Needs more options in entering ingredients such as the ability to write in unconventional measurements like a can, a bag, a package, a pinch, a box, and others. Also, a range in serving sizes ex. 4-6 servings or a range in ingredients ex. 2-3 cloves of garlic. Would be better if overall there was more freedom in entering ingredients. Likely going to try other apps, this one just takes to much time.

Good app, can only get better. I bought this app for my grandmothers iPad after I discovered one of her recipe cards was missing! I didn't want that to be ale to happen again, and should she ever figure out how to use her iPad, she'll be able to read her recipes since you can increase the font size As a previous reviewer said it would be nice to have unconventional measurements such as a pinch, box, dash Also, i immediately recommended this app to my mom and it would be cool to be able to share apps among iPads so that we don't have to each type the recipe in individually. Also, be able to input the recipe on the computer and then Input it to the iPad... It takes. Lot of time to input just one recipe

Nice but needs some help. This app is nice but incomplete and needs some tweaking. The ability to change servings and measurements (US to Metric) on the fly is why I selected it. However with the so called smart scaling feature for sizing I expected more from the measurement conversion. Instead what you get is 1 1/2 cups converted to 354ml where you may prefer to see 350ml. One display problem I encountered was that the list of ingredients could not always seen as the width was to small. Say you had an ingredient "1 1/2 cups bananas, very ripe, mashed" all you would see was "1 1/2 cups bananas, ver..." with no way to expand or otherwise see the full ingredient unless you go into the recipe view mode. The search function is very flexible in that you can enter anything to search on. If however you want to select from per-defined categories then you must search thru a long list of categories and their individual items. It would be great to see this organized in a more elegant manner. A glaring omission is a shopping list and even meal planner so let's hope to see that soon. Lastly importing is weak. If you have a recipe that you have cut from the Internet you have to enter the ingredients manuals and really can only cut and paste the directions. As I said this app is ok, for .99 or 1.99 it would be better priced. If it grows up then perhaps the 3.99 price would be more justified.

Love it but needs changes. I love that I can have a place for easy access to my recipes without having to access the Internet, but would love to have more options for serving size. Not all recipes say "number" of servings - like "one loaf" or "9x13 pan". Also sometimes ingredients are a range. Like on bread recipes it says 2-3 cups flour. Look forward to the update. Also, Cannot do recipe search by category. even though I had some salad recipes, it said "no matches" when I tried to do look up by category. And, yes, I did have the category listed.

A Must Have For The Kitchen. This app is now an integral part of my kitchen and I recommend it for anyone who cooks—in other words, everyone. No more index cards flopping around and getting dirty. I especially like the serving sizer—it does all the calculations for you in an instant. It is a stable app that keeps improving. I've had zero crashes. Love the new designer cards. And you can view your recipes in an extra large size and can quickly find your recipes from categories.

Not a good choice--download Paprika instead. Unfortunately I did not do enough homework before downloading this recipe manager. After using the cumbersome cut and paste method of this app to import a couple recipes, I decided to do some more investigation into recipe management applications. I have since downloaded Paprika and absolutely love it. Paprika allows for easy import of recipes off of the internet. I have a lot of recipes already on my computer in either Word, Pages, or PDF format. I was able to easily cut and paste those recipes with the Paprika app. Paprika allowed me to cut and paste the entire list of ingredients (vs one by one in this app). Paprika automatically recalculates the ingredients when resizing the recipe and it has a built-in timer (it pulls the times out of the recipe). The Recipe Manager App would be fine for someone who is converting all hand written recipes into a digital format. However, I found it incredibly cumbersome since 98% of my stuff is already in the computer.

Quit working. I liked the app, but now I open it and it is frozen. I have tried resetting my iPad but the problem remains. Wasted my money.

Love it but.... I love this. It keeps my favorite recipes handy and I can double or triple as needed. However I recently upgraded my iPad and didn't realize that my recipes weren't in my cloud. I've looked all over the software and there is no backup/sync that I could find. I'd love to be able to use this on my phone as well as I don't always have my pad with me and transfer recipes across the board.

Love it. I love having all my favorite recipes at my fingertips. The only improvements that would be nice is a feature so the sleep mode doesn't darken the screen. And being able to include additional ingredient and direction sections when a recipe is listed in parts like a cake, frosting and filling. It would be nice to be able to add a heading in the ingredient section.

Customize & organize your recipes. Family dinner is a goal in our home, but sometimes a hurdle. This app gives me a clean slate to get our favorite meals organized in one place. If we are having company, the serving sizer option does a quick calculation to adjust the ingredients. Great idea for the iPad platform!

Love this!. This app is just what I needed to organize all my recipes and add new ones from the Internet. The app is very intuitive and didn't take me long to feel comfortable with. Data entry is super easy with the measurement and ingredient lists. Since I'm new to this sort of thing I had some questions, which their tech support answered promptly and clearly. I highly recommend this app and will seriously consider other apps by this company.

Great App!. This is a good app but it has some problems. I have used it since it was first available and haven't had problems until now. The data base disappeared. I had a back up and was able to save most of my recipes but none of the pictures were backed up. So, I have the recipes-lots of them-but no pictures. This needs to be addressed so I can continue to highly recommend this app!

Worth It!. I am always skeptical about good ratings. Many are paid raves by people who never saw the app. I have the app and love it. I just put a recipe into the app in a couple of minutes. The tedious entry of instructions are done using the dictation in the iPad. It is even encouraged me to use dictation to type this review I also like the way everything is organized and how easily you can enter the ingredients. Everything is real world. The app will scale recipes and this is especially good for people who live in a household with only one or two people. This eliminates a lot of waste and the constant need to have leftovers for a week.

Problem uploading photo after iOS 8 upgrade. I have been using this app for quite some time. Since the iOS upgrade, some activities, such as adding ingredients into a recipe are hesitating. Other activities are just getting stuck and never completing, such as loading pictures. Hope there will be a fix soon.

So far so good!. I've just created my first recipe and so far so good. I would like to mention... I would love for the ability to have more than 1 picture of the recipe. I also would like the picture to show on the recipe card...currently it only shows on the edit card. I image as I use the program to cook with I'll be on the recipe card section instead of the edit card... So pictures to follow along with would be a wonderful addition!

Love this app. Great way to organize all your recipes. Easy to create a recipe, just talk it in or cut and paste. Takes a bit to get the ingredients in, thou. You can cheat the system by listing ingredients in the description. I'd give it 5 stars if they can figure out how make that work or an import option Also would like to see an export option so I can easily share with family.

Chef in Training. I love all the features like printing and how easy it is to use. The icon makes the app really easy for me to find, since I have so many. I really like having all the categories to choose from and how easy it is to customize the list.

Waste of time & money!. If you have three days to enter a recipe because you CANNOT just type in ingredients, then this is the App for you! I tried to enter, for example, "4 14.5 ounce cans of stewed tomatoes". I can enter stewed tomatoes, but no way to enter four 14.5 ounce cans. Also there's no way to enter directions in the list of ingredients; for example, two tablespoons of olive oil, divided. I thought this would be a useful app to divide and/or increase a recipe, but not if it takes me longer to enter the recipe than it does to shop for it. If I could give it a NEGATIVE 1, I would!

What can I do?. I love this app. However, since the last software update, it won't let me add a picture from my camera roll. It acts like it will, then just says 'saving picture' and freezes that way. I liked the option to use an existing picture, or take a new one. Any suggestions?

Love this recipe app!!. I tried another app that was also one that had to be purchased. It was useless so I decided to try Recipe Manager. So glad I did! It is easy to use, you can dictate the instructions and it is so easy to change the serving size and ingredients. Buy it - you won't be sorry.

Great! but needs help.... I really like the UI on this app and I love the ability to change serving sizes. That alone is worth the cost of this app (I cook for a shelter and the sizing allows me to upscale any recipe for a large crowd!). This got four stars because it lacks some very basic necessities like the following: - Shopping list (Don't tell me I can email it and print it. I want it interactive check-box style like all the other recipe apps) - Pictures - Font control (even basics like bold, italic and underline) - Ability to add several recipes to a meal, then add all to shopping list. - And as long as I'm at it, a tab to follow where I am in a recipe (what line in the directions) would be great. Thank you and keep up the good work!!!

Best for family recipes. This app is great for storing family recipes and has convenient methods for adapting portion size. This feature is useful only if you manually enter the proportions of the recipe. I have been using it primarily for copying recipes online with a simple cut and paste. This doesn't make the recipe adaptable, but it is a quick and easy way to save a recipe that was a hit from your favorite magazine or website.

So Easy!. Love, love, love this app! I expected it would be a big chore to type in all my recipes. I was wrong! It's a very simple, intuitive method for entering ingredients and amounts. I've also found that I can copy an entire recipe from the internet and paste into the Directions field, then enter the ingredients separately. I love all the cute recipe card designs, being able to easily share recipes with friends, and the list goes on. Excellent app!

Nice App. I looked at several before purchasing, and picked this one. It works well, it will be handy to use while cooking. You can enlarge the text, print recipes, email, add photos to your recipe. I am slowing adding all my favorite recipes, I wish there was an easier way to add the ingredients. I have been adding the ingredients to the text portion and bypassing using the ingredient option in this app for it it's very time consuming. Other than the option to add ingredients everything else about this app is terrific. I did ask if there was an easier way to add ingredients and they did say they are working on improvements. If this option worked easier I would rate this app with 5 stars. I would highly recommend this app, if you have the latest I pad you can use voice recognition to add your recipes.

Great App. Took a while to load all my recipes, but once set up it is a pleasure to use. The app support is fast, friendly and very helpful with any queries. The only improvement I can think of is that I'd like to be able to separate ingredients for bases and fillings etc within the same recipe but overall a great app that I would definitely recommend!

Excellent for bakers. I'm a baker, and I am always adjusting my formulas for the number of people I'm baking for. This makes it so easy to multiply out the formula! The interface takes a little getting used to, but once you get it, entering a new formula is fairly easy. And once you start building your library, you'll find yourself using it more than that binder you've been creating over the years. Highly recommended for industrial kitchens.

Fantastic App! Great Customer Service!. I have been using this app for a while. It's so convenient and easy to email recipes to people. The conversion capability is such a time saver. With the glitches that accompanied this latest iOS update, my email to the developers of this app addressing my concerns was answered promptly. It was not a generic response either and covered all my issues. I would be lost without this app. By the way, this latest update resolved everything. 👍

Easy, functional, and fast. This app was easy to use—intuitive in most respects; very functional to simply input only the required information; produced usable results in a matter of minutes. Future features that would be useful (I didn't have much time to thoroughly study it): - Resizable columns - A better way to transfer a recipe other than email - More template choices - A more elegant and less "bare bone" indexing on the front-end - More import options - A photo option However, this was one app that was worth every penny for the task it was purchased to serve for this occasion. I didn't need 100,001 recipes and appreciated the sharp developer's focus.

Nice but has some issues. The biggest issue I have noticed so far is that this app will not allow for a fraction of a tablespoon. If you try to input 1 1/2 Tbs, it will show as 1 Tbs + 1 1/2 tsp. this may be the same for other measurements, but I just started using it. Also, it would be nice if this app allowed you to include additional information about each ingredient such as: Flour... Sifted Brown sugar... Or raw sugar Carrot.. Peeled and grated Egg... Room temperature Pepper... To taste And, it would be nice to have an alternative to serving size such as "1 Cup" which is common practice when preparing sauces and condiments in batches. Otherwise, I like the look of the recipe cards... Very clear. I also like the ability to categorize, resize recipes (aside from conversion handling issue), take a photo of the completed dish, add ingredients, and paste directions.

Love this program. I have so many recipes including family recipes handed down thru the family. Sometimes it takes me a while to locate a certain recipe. Not any more! I love this program...now I have all my favorite recipes in one place and the iPad is great to use with no wasted paper, i can share or print in a second also....thank you thank you thank you!

Love it!. It was a big project at first, but when I realized how easy it was to create new designer recipe cards from my old 4x6 paper recipe cards, I couldn't stop. This app gives me the ability to update recipes, while I'm cooking, add pictures, and send my recipes to family and friends. The easy to read recipe cards, with the ability to change print size, mean less errors, while cooking. I absolutely love this app and would recommend it to anyone!

Just what I was looking for...!!!. I have lots of family recipes on index cards and I took my time to enter them into this program!! I usually do NOT enter the ingredients in the left column, unless I an entering a recipe that I need converted to larger or smaller portions. I usually just type, or copy/paste the whole recipe from the internet in the right side area for the Directions. I have already suggested to the developers that it would be nice to be able to put several pics for each recipe since many recipes have step by step pics. And, lastly... I'd LOVE to see iCloud syncing between devices. Currently, you have to upload the database file to iTunes.
