Horrible. I have never written a review before but I had to do it. We live in Rittenhouse square and we go out to dinner almost every night. This experience was the worst. We were seated at a bar facing the kitchen. When I asked to be moved I was told that there were no open tables. There were 3 tables of 2 behind us and nobody sat there the entire time. So we were left to watch the chef pick his nails while I was looking into the eye of two dead fish about a foot away from me. The waiters kept on cleaning off the counter where they placed the food and push the crumbs onto our table. The chefs keep on stacking bowls higher and higher in front of the counter in front of us. I ordered a shrimp cocktail and it was in a bowl of what looked and tasted like a bowl of warm milk. It was so bad. Our waiter with the long beard and deep voice who shared with us that he was also a DJ was great. We will never go back here again. They should be ashamed of themselves, especially when the reservation was set about 2 months before

We were impressed!. Last night was our first time dining at this establishment. We were greeted upon arrival and addressed (by name) when seated at our table. Marc introduced himself and gave us the overview of the restaurant. Then talked to us about their delish appetizers. We chose the crab cakes. They were delish and the sauce served with them, so good. Our next course, my husband and I ordered salads…my son, lobster Mac and cheese. Our main courses arrived and what a presentation. We had a combination of red snapper, steak and chicken cordon blue. We were not disappointed. Lastly, coffee and chocolate cake. The cake is huge, so we split between the three of us. It was a perfect choose. If you haven’t tried this place…go!! The ambiance is so pretty, it’s quiet, the food is delish. Ask for Marc….he sure has a calling for serving!! 🤍

Delicious food BUT NO STAFF WEARS A MASK. We were not sure whether we should stay when we went to check in for our reservation. Three people were at check-in which is indoors, and one person on the phone wore a mask, but the other 2 did not!! This was a very stressful start—we wore our KN95 masks. We ate outdoors. My husband’s vegan meal with white fish was awesome and so was my scallop meal. The chef, without a mask, came to see my husband to make sure his meal was great. Very nice. BUT, no masks for the staff is very bad with Omicron increasing. Although we would like to eat there again, we feel like we are putting ourselves in a risky situation especially since another restaurant on El Paseo just was in the newspaper because 20+ staff have COVID and were working before their diagnosis was made.

Blu Crete. Blu Crete is fast becoming our favorite BYO restaurant in Basking Ridge. You will immediately notice the staff and servers are friendly, efficient and polite. We appreciate the serene space; the tables are spaced out sufficiently so that you will enjoy your meal privately without feeling cramped. The menu has something for everyone. The food is excellent; high quality. On our most recent visit we started with the Caesar and Arugula salads which were fresh and carefully prepared. The other Appetizer worth mentioning are the Meatballs with whipped ricotta which my husband and I shared. The Short Rib main course is excellent; very tender and a generous portion. The pasta dishes while less complicated are also very fresh and generous. Every meal so far has been consistently great. The key words you will take away from this place are freshness and quality. This lovely restaurant is ideal if you are looking for quality cuisine; great service, cleanliness and value for the money. Highly recommend.

Improvements made. First of all, who are these people detailing the restaurant’s tilapia and their server ignoring them on what is supposed to be the Open Table app review?! This is not Yelp, folks. This latest update resolved my ire with the searching. We can FINALLY search for restaurants in San Francisco in its entirety. For a long while you had to specify a SF neighborhood when looking for an available restaurant i.e. 3 people at noon in the Mission, San Francisco, CA. Every other city, you were able to indicate and search by just the city name all except for SF. Looks like the capability has returned. But scrolling through the list of restaurants was and still remains to be both annoying af and difficult as where my finger lands to swipe up or down to move the page up or down, it’ll attempt to drag and drop that restaurant as a link to a message whether text or email. Why anyone ever thought that would be a good idea when everyone in the app is using a touch screen phone is beyond me. Can we get that fixed, please?

The Honeysuckle. Positive: great atmosphere and nice restaurant and bar area. Love the raw bar too! Negative: I was the only one sitting at the bar and barely got service from the bartender — I literally would’ve stayed much longer and ordered more if she would’ve just paid attention to me. I ordered the glass of champagne twice and it was warm both times — even after she “chilled” it; I ordered the duck— The Brussels sprouts were tasty but so tough it was hard to cut them, the grits were super yummy (a positive) , the duck was mediocre. I was disappointed overall as I really liked the ambiance. I think the bad service from the bartender was the kicker.. fake friendly when she was obviously annoyed with me asking her to chill the champagne, never filled my water, didn’t check on me and simply didn’t convey she cared.

Be careful how you use this app. They are sneaky. Its ok for reservations but the sneaky developers just added a toggle for you to ‘opt-in’ on receiving points. Then they make it difficult to redeem. Far cry from the original concept and the app developer actually treats you as the enemy rather than streamline and make it easier to use. They change terms and conditions often requiring to keep an eye on uses. Make sure you are awarded your points and keep your receipt. These folks make it very hard to collect points if the restaurant forgets to credit you. 2019 Update: this company makes it so difficult to redeem points, gift points that it makes you wonder why you even use the app. To the Developer: your Customer Service, responses, replies are very poor. Either use a call center and stop hiding behind email or watch members drop you.

Useless without way to update contact info. The app is useless if there’s no reliable way to update your contact info so restaurants can confirm your reservation. I missed my Valentine’s Day reservation (they called to confirm using an old phone number I cannot update in OpenTable) because the app failed to update my phone number after changing it on both my mobile and desktop versions of the app. Customer service said they’d manually update the phone number after our attempts to troubleshoot the issue failed. A few days later they let me know they deleted an old account OpenTable account of mine that I wasn’t using. They didn’t change my phone number and—not surprisingly—deleting the other account did nothing to fix the issue. I understand the wish to troubleshoot, but after resolvable attempts have been made, that’s not the customer’s job and if the app doesn’t work for reservations what’s the point?

Was Excited to Enjoy and Let Down. My wife and i are in Park City for a long weekend of skiing and snowboarding. Tonight was out last night here and we were out to celebrate. I have celiac so was excited that they had a massive menu I could enjoy. I also work and travel a ton to Japan so even more excited. We arrived 20 min early. Was going to enjoy a cocktail. We were rudely told we will not be able to sit you for 30 min. That’s fine so we walked around Main St. We came back down at 8:28. At 9:00 still have not sat down. We were placed at the bar so we were “out of the way”. 15-20 minutes later tables were open yet we were still parked. I was tired. My wife was tired. And truthfully did not feel welcome at this place. The food smelled fantastic yet the customer service was terrible. Should have know this would be the case when we arrived people coming up were like don’t even bother. These people are goofy and it’s not worth your time. A great night planned for a great dinner ended with so so pizza a few doors down. Move on people.

Amazing experience for all the senses. My boyfriend and I had a beautiful date night at Salt & Cellar. As we do not drink alcohol we so appreciated the beautiful mock tails, he ordered Into The Woods which was a green juice with shaved chocolate on the glass sitting on a bed of moss with mushrooms and a dry ice mist that is created with the server pours water into the moss bed activating aromatics and essential oils. I ordered a Moon (something?) which was watermelon and lavender and it was delicious!! Our server Matija was so sweet and accommodating, we took his recommendation for the appetizer and loved it and then enjoyed some vegetarian options. After dinner Matija so kindly gave us a tour of the amenities at the hotel and offered to take photos for us. It was truly a magical night to remember and we are so grateful to Matija for making it extra special for us! We will definitely be back to enjoy for of the vegetarian menu and experience different delicious mock tails! Thank you again.

Bombay Club wins again!. My husband and I enjoyed another excellent dinner at DC’s Bombay Club last night. Our waiter Hicham was incredible. We started with the crispy kale, which cannot be missed! Hicham recommended adding an order of samosa, which mixed fabulously with the kale. He then recommended the combination meals, one club thali and one samundari thali, which gave us the opportunity to sample seafood, lamb, chicken, and accompaniments in abundance. We couldn’t possibly choose a favorite, everything was delicious. My husband finished with an espresso, vodka, Godiva chocolate, mint martini—yes, as awesome as it sounds!! Icing on the cake for us was that, as my husband was slightly rushing me to finish my Chardonnay, Hicham noticed and brought him another glass of Pinot Noir to enjoy while I sipped. The relaxed, but excellent, ambiance, service and food/drinks make The Bombay Club our favorite restaurant to visit whenever we are in DC.

Food not consistent, had the worst experience here from one of the waitresses.. Waited 15 min for a waitress, took another 10 min to get water. After I told Emily I waited a long time, she did not apologize or acknowledge that. During the meal myself and the kids ran out of water and drinks a total of 3 times each waiting for the food of 45 minutes. When food arrived my girl asked for bbq sauce for chicken tenders and her broccoli was cold. My fries with my burger were cold. I asked for hot fries, 10 minutes later they bring me crinkle cut and told me steak fries are t available at the moment as to that’s what i ordered. Furthermore the server tried to give me a bill. I specifically told her i had a togo order when I first ordered for myself and my kids. No smiles, no acknowledgement, I had to ask her to remove dirty plates from the table. In the restaurant business it’s hands full in and out. Don’t grab a single plate from the table behind me w an extra hand and not help my table out that was full of dirty dishes. Was never offered bread, never offered desert, server never asked how everything was. Maybe in Lexington this concept has stayed alive but if you guys don’t take care of this customer service now in “restaurant city “ you might as well close the doors early. Once I thought this place was on point after just a few months they are going down hill.

Robert and the entire staff are lovely ~. Today was my mother’s birthday and we happened to stop by without making a reservation. The hostess was kind enough to find us two seats at the chef’s table which is exactly what we wanted and hoped for. The food was refined, delicious but unpretentious and we felt like we were at home in Seattle at our favorite restaurant, Canlis. Robert made our time here very special and he catered to our every whim. We appreciate how down to earth he was but was extremely sophisticated and kind. Life has been tough for the entire world, but for these few hours we spent dining at Coyote Cafe, we felt as if we were dining at the most exquisite restaurant on the planet and it was nothing but pure bliss. We thank you and love your team!

Outstanding!!!. My wife and I have lived in SE CT for twenty years and have somehow never visited Ford’s Black and Blue, until last night. We had reservations at 6:00 and arrived a few minutes early. We were seated immediately upon arriving. Our server was friendly and fast. In fact we were very surprised at how quickly our appetizer came after ordering. The calamari was piping hot and delicious. After some debate, my wife went with the baked cod and I chose the lobster risotto. We often split and share our plates, and then choose who picked the better dish. This dinner resulted in a very rare tie. Both dishes were incredible. We both cleaned our plates, which is also rare. The portions were so perfect, we decided to venture into dessert. We picked the chocolate crème brûlée and key lime cheesecake. Again, both were amazing. We left Fords Black and Blue completely satisfied and happy. Our first experience was so enjoyable we have already decided to add Fords Black and Blue to our date night list and visit more often. Do not pass up a chance to eat here. You will be glad you ate at Fords. I personally cannot wait to go back and try more from the menu.

From start to finish horrible service. Planned dinner to celebrate two birthdays and the evening was a true disappointment. Half our party waited at least 15 minutes to be seated after the reservation time because the host didn’t realize half the table was seated. Not sure why we weren’t seated anyway? Once seated, we waited for quite awhile before we had to ask a server if we had anyone taking care of our table. Drinks weren’t served until 45 minutes after being seated. We were almost done eating our appetizers when drinks arrived. Literally ordered a second round when the first were served because we anticipated the next delay. The food was okay and the drinks were so-so. We had to cancel our request for birthday desserts because we had to leave for a show and being there for 2 hours didn’t leave enough time to get dessert. The server also messed up our credit card payments (split evenly, nothing complicated). The entire dinner was a poor experience with basically no customer service or apology from staff.

Great food great views. As the title says food was great and views were amazing. Two reasons why not 5 stars? 1) We arrived about 10 min early for our reservations and were left standing awkwardly in the lobby waiting for a table- no bar seating available. We had an early seating and lots of tables were open. The hostess was borderline rude. Seated 4 other couples before us when we were there standing. I even asked politely if she forgot about us and she told us to wait while she seated people who came after us (at least one couple didn’t even have a reservation), and had a nice long chat with a customer in the bar! 2) the restaurant had more of a golf club vibe than we were expecting but that’s on us. Bar was a rowdy post golf round crowd and the ambience was a bit disappointing for such a great menu.

Performance beginning to degrade. I’ve been using OT for ages, always had awesome experiences but today it was a train wreck. I was trying to dine at the Galvez Bar and Grill in Galveston Texas, after an hour and too much trouble with the wait staff we decided to leave and go at a more reliable restaurant. I tried to use OpenTable to make a reservation and OpenTable said “want to modify your reservation”, I said “yes”. Opentable popped up with “Call the restaurant”. I was one hour into dining. “Hello” Did the app not connect I had already been checked in? The restaurant checked me in on the app. By now I had already told the restaurant I was leaving. I tried to book another restaurant Gaido’s in Galveston Texas but the Open Table reservation would not process. Got to the they said you don’t have a reservation. Tried to reserve again and OT insisted I call again. So I called again spoke to The Galvez they said they were cancelling. Still the OpenTable app would not let me cancel. After dining at Gaido’s the app does not show Galvez Bar and Grill since it is cancelled and Gaido’s never got logged. The tool was built to simplify, but now they have changed the way their data is managed and so they have broken the process. It was a good many years but I believe OT is about to lose a very loyal customer, not willing to go through OT hassles.

Useless when searching. As other reviewers pointed out, when you know exactly which restaurant you want to go and when, using the app is a no-brainer - book, dine, and get points. However, when searching for future dates, for example, when planning vacation travel, is AGGRAVATING. The app keeps resetting to 2 people today. I like using map view to search, and I’d zoom out to widen the area, click “redo search” - a whole bunch of options pop up, but when you click on them turns out they aren’t available at the selected time and it literally just brings up all the restaurants in that area regardless of time and date you are trying to search. Developers clearly know of this issue, as it even brings up a pop-up box asking if you want to update your search to the criteria you set previously - but even after you click “Yes”, it runs the search and again the results are populated with restaurants that do not have availability at times you are looking for. USELESS! Fix this please!

Not a bad app, but no communication with real people running it is bad bad bad. Since this is apparently the only way to offer feedback on the technical side of things, here we go. I like OpenTable, the app runs great in its function, however I work at a restaurant that uses this booking platform and there is a way for clients to capture MORE bookings. If the search was a filter option to at least search for a time frame of multiple hours, maybe even across multiple restaurants, guests would see WAY more booking options. Example: 7o’clock resos are almost impossible to snag at Spinasse, so most people think we have no open tables because they have to search by 30 minute increments at a time to maybe find a slot that is open. It is a waste of time for the guests and for clients on OpenTable who still spend a considerable amount of time taking phone reservations because of the platform issue.

Impeccable Service and Amazing Food. I dine at the Monarch Chophouse frequently and have never had a bad dining experience. The food is always on point. I dined with my family of 4 who were out of town guests from Texas where beef is king. The steaks here are second to none! It is the best food in all of Blackhawk! Carrie was our server and went above and beyond to accommodate our needs. Her timing and recommendations were spot on! Zak gave us excellent wine recommendations and was also also very attentive. Troy another server came to check on us and made us feel very welcomed. Their entire staff from management to the bussers are all very friendly and accommodating. I would highly recommend the Chophouse for anyone looking to have an amazing culinary experience with a very personal touch!

Fantastic Dining Experiences!!!!!!. We have had the extreme pleasure of dining at Birch and Bloom for both breakfast and dinner and have ALWAYS been treated to perfectly prepared amazingly delicious meals! Being creatures of habit for dinner you cannot beat the petite fillet and the Rockfish complimented with extra crispy French Fries! New entrees are on the way for August, courtesy of Chefs Christian, Danny, Greg and Eric, so do yourself a favor and enjoy a spectacular venue and even more terrific servers ( Karen, Brooke)and managers(Daniel, Kyle, Crystal and Thomas)! As for breakfast…we have NEVER had a better breakfast EVER! Guests of the Forum and local residents are REALLY missing out if they don’t take advantage of this morning gem all at exceptionally reasonable prices! The omelettes both spinach and B&B are enormous, succulent and prepared to perfection and you MUST substitute Chef Belinda’s world famous pancake for the toast…your taste buds will thank you! Chefs Belinda and Rosa are culinary artists, and servers Kim, Laquanda and Dominekos strive to make sure your dining experience to start your day is relaxing and enjoyable! And what’s even better is a brand new weekend brunch will be beginning July 29th!!! Don’t be intimidated by the remarkable Forum exterior because the staff inside are even more impressive and talented and personable! ENJOY!!!

Thank God this place opened in our neighborhood!. All I can say is WOW WOW WOW! We came here for the second time (first time yesterday) and still the same review! Fresh homemade food served as described, but even better! The past two days we have almost tried everything and took food home to go! Amazingly, delicious food and it’s going to be hard not to drive by and stop no matter what! I recommend the calamari, hummus, pizzas, the lamb (doesn’t matter burger or the entree). This place knows the proper cooking temps on the lamb and the “Mediterranean” is truly “Mediterranean” if you know what it should taste like! Also, the talent within the restaurant is professional, well-versed on the menu and the wine list. Customer service is definitely a 5+ along with the food! You have a diverse variety of food to choose from such as pasta, pizza, seafood and it’s all amazing! A must try and you will be hooked! Seriously, it is one of the best restaurants in the valley!

One of my most used apps - since 2005. UPDATE: I just realized an old review was up from years ago. I just erased it. Apparently, I was in a cranky mood - probably during a major app upgrade. Here’s the thing. It’s now 2019. I’ve been a loyal OpenTable user since 2005. The problems I had with the app, in the review I erased, were fixed years ago by OpenTable. And I have continued to be a happy user of the service. I just realized I owed it to the company to improve my review to match my satisfaction with this service. Following is an older, glowing review from who knows when. Everything I said in this original review goes double for the latest iteration of the app. Thank you OpenTable for years of great service. "I have been an OpenTable user for years. I depend on and use the service constantly. This latest iteration of the iPad app is terrific. Location service, reservation, and calendar coordination are working seamlessly for me and I love it." I don't remember when the first app appeared. It wasn't THAT long ago. In fact I have used the OpenTable platform on a laptop almost since its original launch, and was an OpenTable enthusiast as much as I am a restaurant and wine enthusiast.

We won’t go back. Nothing worse than tasteless poorly prepared Italian food. Not only was the pasta overcooked, but it was not strained, so the water it was cooked in diluted the tasteless bolognese sauce. The white bean soup was served cold and equally tasteless. After waiting a few minutes for the waitress to bring salt and pepper, I asked the manager who brought them. It was better, but now really cold. We needed something to help the food so I asked for bread. Again, after another lengthy wait, it came when we could not eat any more of the lousy pasta. Sourdough served with Italian food. Ouch! In summary, the only thing worse than the food was the service. Nice pleasant girl, but she was like a ghost. After simply asking for salt and pepper for already cooled soup, she sat a 4 top, served soda to another table, went back to the 4 top to take their order and then got lost in the back. We left 1/2 the soup and 3/4 of the pasta, but yet not a word or anything after not wanting to take the poor food home.

Great customer service and excellent restaurant listing. I’ve used other restaurant apps but having to prepay discounts or learning the restaurant were no longer taking the prepaid discount. Open table has excellent customer service. They are very clear speaking( what did you say and you’re name is what? Huh all simple names but a headache to understand you will get elsewhere)they also completely did have understanding that bc of this pandemic I haven’t been able to use app and had lost all my points which was an easy fix. Believe me the points lost and I love dining out and with open table and reviews it’s allowed me to find unknown hidden bargains and gems. I also love the fact this can be used in almost any place other than your home state or country. It allows to pre plan perhaps a hidden gem while visiting or even finding bargains but hands down this is an excellent app, accurate, and customer service care team that are helpful, you will not get a person that you know is sitting in India, Philippines or a robot and run rings. A live human who may be bilingual but who you can completely understand and helpful and not give you a headache after you get off.

I wish I knew about this app sooner!. I strongly urge everyone should try this app if you haven’t already! It should be a staple/utility app on everyone’s device! It’s such a basic concept when it comes to dining, surprised no one else like Yelp did it like OpenTable does sooner. Features a variety of customizations and filters to find the perfect spot for any special occasion, business meeting, casual coffee or breakfast, brunch or a night out in town, you name it! App’s catalogue holds a vast selection of locations/experiences. Each establishment has a profile page with all the information anyone might be looking for. You can reserve and add your guests and contact the management team directly from the app. It shows you price points, reviews, availability by the hour etc. Not sure if it’s this useful in other cities but in LA- an absolute essential app for everyone!

Good but WE NEED FILTERS Already!!!. I’ve been using OpenTable from day one. It’s frustrating that developers still haven’t made the ability to filter things better. Such as, the reviews of a single location you’re looking to dine in that’s part of a multiple location/chain restaurant… reviews for all their locations all show up under the one restaurant you’re looking to book at. If I’m dining in Boca Raton FL I dont care to see reviews from their Miami, NYC, etc. locations! There is no way to filter reviews to one city and there should be by now. Also, the “location” of the reviews are labeled as major cities such as West Palm Beach and Fort Lauderdale (for example) and yet the one I’m dining in is actually in the Boca Raton area. Not sure how we are supposed to know which restaurant the review is for when the restaurant Im looking to dine in is smack dab in the middle of these major cities!?! It’s a forced guessing game that no one is interested in playing. Lastly, there’s no way to filter out OpenTable’s restaurant recommendations. They recommend restaurants in Miami (an hour away from me) when barely ever dine in Miami. I maybe dined there once ever through the app. No bueno, OT! PLEASE FIX THESE FILTERS —it’s looooong overdue!!

Totally Bloated. At first, I thought all the reviews and photos and “Yelp” like stuff was cool. But the reason I was using the app was to make a reservation, and that’s where things went south, at least compared to earlier versions of the app. Long story short, once you’re on the restaurant detail page, there is no clear way to make a reservation, or there are so many other options that it’s confusing. I ended up “saving”, thinking that would “save” my reservation, but when I showed up at the restaurant, all I got was a snarky gen-z hostess refusing to give me a table (even though there were a half dozen open tables in sight and only two reservations on her list). I’m not happy with Cane Rosso, but I also understand snarky teenage hostesses are all they can afford. I’m very unhappy with how bloated open table has become. Especially since I clicked on a link on Cane Rosso’s website and it took me right down this rabbit hole. It may have something to do with the fact I was on mobile and had to turn it sideways to get all the options. I know it can work, last week I followed the same procedure with Tupelo Honey and my reservation was seamless. Not the same experience with all restaurants, and that’s a problem, especially when you’re with your entire family, your starving, and the hostess could care less. In conclusion, this app needs better implementation across all restaurants and the need to simplify the restaurant detail page.

Not updated. In Hawaii on our 3rd day of vacation and it becomes clear that everyone here made their reservations for their entire stay before they came as we cannot get dinner anywhere the first 2 nights without waiting an hour and a half as a walk up. I begin to book restaurants for the remainder of the trip to ensure we are not eating with kids at 9pm and think. Have it handled when we arrive at Hard rock for our reservation at 7:45pm (earliest we could get but showed open) and are informed by hard rock they are only open Thursday thru Sunday for the restaurant and the retail store all week. Not sure what II made reservations for on open table who had not updated hours for them since Covid a year prior limited hours or why the Hard Rock site sent me to Open Table to make reservations when it was not an option. Frustrating.

Sparrow Menu. We love sparrow, and we go there as much as possible however, with all the new restaurants opening, we haven’t been there in a bit. We were really disappointed. Their menu was not updated online and most the stuff online we could not get we talk to the manager who informed us that the things that we wanted more features not things that were on the permanent menu. Of course that didn’t lineup with the online menu. We had the steak and the chicken and they were phenomenal but if you’re looking to eat there off the online menu, I wouldn’t suggest it. You need to go with an open mind. Once again, the staff was incredible even for a night that they were totally booked. I also know that it’s hard for white staff to pay attention to tables that do not consume alcohol because they don’t make as much tip but they treated us just the same. The best thing they have going for them is there chef who does everything very and authentic. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone I know.

OpenTable “Collect Dining Points” Toggle. I have been an OT member for many years. Until recently, there has never been an issue with my successfully collecting dining points at a participating restaurant. But over the last several reservations I’ve made, I noticed that I wasn’t collecting points. I did some digging, and I finally noticed that there is a setting under my profile for collecting points that had inexplicably been turned off. (Hopefully, this isn’t a strategy to minimize the number of points collected on OpenTable reservations.) It’s a fairly obscure process to find where the setting is located. In addition to this issue, I’ve been finding that reservations I’ve tried to make at restaurants both locally and when we’re out of town frequently seem to have no seating options at a time that we choose. However, when I call the restaurant directly, magically there ARE tables available during our desired timeslot. This whole experience lately has soured me on the app.

Horrible customer service, unethical charge to my CC. I’ve been an OpenTable user for years however today will be the last time I use their service. I made a reservation (which included a credit card charge for not showing up) that I then needed to cancel, however OpenTable told me the only way I could cancel the reservation was to call the restaurant. I tried for hours to call the restaurant but their phone number was disconnected and it never went through. I contacted OpenTable customer support and they refused to help me and told me they could not control cancellation of my reservation. They repeatedly told me to contact the restaurant yet agreed that the phone number was disconnected and that there was no other contact method available. The customer service agent was extremely unhelpful and just kept telling me to call the restaurant, which again, did not work. It’s extremely unethical to allow a reservation to be made through your platform with a credit card hold and then be completely unable to cancel it. I will never use OpenTable again.

Good App But Suspension Policy is an Issue. The OpenTable app works great and the concept of it is really great too. The major issue is the suspension policy they have. While missing reservations is not great for the restaurant, as someone who’s worked in the restaurant industry, it is typically easy to fill voided reservations for customers waiting to be seated. I’ve use open table many times previously and missed one reservation way back in June where I was over “my limit.” I don’t frequently miss these but apparently enough for this suspension. It’s now been 3 months and I’m still suspended. Surely restaurants are missing out on more business by OpenTable monopolizing reservations and suspending people from making them for months at a time than the restaurant missing a reservation and just backfilling it with their waitlist. I know many people who have the same issue and have to choose other restaurants that don’t use OpenTable so they can get their reservation. I just use Rese or book through Google because of this but it’s a big issue for the user and the restaurants.

What a mess.. I've had this app for about 5 minutes and I'm ready to delete it. I booked a table on my desktop and it asked me for my email address for the confirmation. Then it said to open an account to keep track of the reservation and have me the option of logging in with Google (which is different than my email address I used to send the confirmation). So I went to my account and sure enough the reservation isn't there. I try downloading the app and guess what? No option to log in with Google on the app. So I go back to the desktop to change the password because my Google password doesn't work on the "log in with open table" option. I get into the app, no reservations. I go to the email confirmation I received and click on change/view reservation and it of course takes me to my profile page for the account with no reservations. So I click on add to calendar and invite Google email to my own reservation. In the account I get a notification that I was invited, and then accept. Then I click on upcoming reservations and there are no reservations. And the alert icon is still red letting me know I was invited to my own reservation.

Good App, but Needs Improvement. I love the convenience of making reservations on this app, but I’ve given it 3 stars as it needs some improvements to go from good to great. OpenTable is great as most places use it, but if a competitor were to come up with a better user experience, I’d switch in a heartbeat. 1) Needs functionality to redeem points for dining coupons electronically. It’s 2018, why can’t I get a barcode that can be scanned at a restaurant? I tried to redeem points last weekend and it said to go to my desktop...some folks don’t even use a desktop outside of work. This is a huge miss. 2) Needs a better layout of local restaurants and navigation. I’ll search for local restaurants and after listing a few, it jumps to those 20 miles away. I’m in a huge metro suburb and I want to narrow in on a certain town and not get mixed results with places far away. I go out a lot and do a mix of city and suburbs but for folks not familiar with the area, it could be deceiving. For example, searching for something close by and you see an interesting place and don’t realize it’s further than you wanted until you click on the restaurant to explore.

Dated Experience, Weak Loyalty, Lame No Show a little too close here in the end Rules. I’ve been using OpenTable since the very early days. It’s always been super convenient and, like it or not, almost necessary in this day and age to get reservations with most restaurants. What I don’t like about it is that that platform has not changed for years, you can get logged out, relogging back in thru email never seeks to work, they’ve downgraded the loyalty program and made it harder to earn points or redeem them effectively, and I’ve had a couple of no-shows over the years that have basically put me in an inactive status on the platform. Given 100s of reservations I probably made, not showing up for one or two should not blacklist me from the platform. A LOT needs to change with this platform. It’s like they put it on autopilot and don’t pay attention.

Our Favorite Sit Down Restaurant. We are happy to live near Van Rensselaer's Restaurant. It is our go to for a wonderful meal and it doesn’t have to be for a special occasion. Their menu suits us perfectly - the mixed seafood grill is always so perfectly prepared. Last visit it was tuna, seared on both sides and warm in the middle that melted in the mouth, swordfish that was tender and juicy and so fresh tasting, and shrimp cooked just the way I like them. It's a hard decision to choose from their menu, as they prepare salmon and other fish in a number of ways so you can make a choice. Salads are satisfying and served in an appealing way. And then dessert. Oh, my. Once you’ve tried their toffee Kailua chocolate mousse cake it's impossible to order anything else, if you’re a chocolate lover. Don's favorite is the crime brûlée and their carrot cake is made on premises and is legendary. This will be the last weekend that they are open until spring so we are reserved. Thank you, VR’s, for some wonderful meals this season!

Redemption of points earned. We love making reservations through the app and earning points. It’s so easy to find and reserve time slots for our favorite, tried and try restaurants as well as new ones to try. However, redeeming your points and actually using them are quite a different story. After a very lengthy and difficult process of redeeming the points we earned through making reservations with Open Table, it turned out that the restaurant that we chose to use the redemption certificate didn’t have a clue as how to use the credit… and pretty much washed their hands of the responsibility of doing so.. stating that even the manager couldn’t figure it out. So, we left without using our certificate… which was disappointing. Needless to say… I have this wasted certificate that apparently I cannot redeem. It’s making me think twice about using this app due to this situation.

A must visit Winery that serves food.. As soon as you step in was welcomed with sample of wine. Presented with drink options and then was able to walk around and see what items they had for sale. Unfortunately we didn’t plan this part better and enjoyed the wine experience more. Next time. Off to our reservation we had quite a mix of food. Shrimp Rosotto which was amazing. Chicken sandwich that was listed as a favorite which was also good. The turkey burger though was of a softer consistency and not like a traditional patty. It was good, but not what we were expecting. They did exchange for a regular burger which turned out to be great. We decided after a couple more samples each to indulge in monthly membership and will definitely be returning. It’s amazing seeing all of the wines they offer from their own branding it’s pretty overwhelming actually. But now with a membership we can try them all.

Fair Review?. Overall? I am very happy I can reserve in advance and not have to worry about long wait times while on vacation. Good Job! However, the app to get you to “some” places are not accurate, and when I called the restaurant no one answered, which isn’t all of the OD App’s fault, but the horrible directions from their link to the restaurant in the app is an oversight that can be fixed. I did appreciate that when they contacted me in email to remind me it is courteous to cancel reservations (i.e., as I DID already try, due to no fault of my own or lack of effort) the context of their email left a tone that didn’t assume it was ALL the customer (my) mistake. The email left a kind of open, placing no exact fault on any one party as the email just went over the correct procedure to cancel for next time kind of thing. I found no negative remarks in my account as a result of this mix-up, which was how it should have went. This is why I am trying Open Table again, and still providing a good score of 4/5. Honestly 4.5; but that isn’t an option. Good App Overall. Fix these little quirks like, a direct link to the restaurant’s email account, so when someone cannot get through on phone, the company can go see what is up, and then can offer up the canceled seat in real time to another party on the waiting list; thus, leaving everyone covered, and common courtesies can be given between all parties.

Fancy Night Out-No Reservation. For a company that specializes in dinner reservations, it better work or what is the point? Right? I made a reservation for a restaurant on 2/16 for Saturday 6/9 just to be sure we could get into this nice place. 2 days before I got a confirmation reminding me about the reservation. Our party of 4 showed up, only to find a sign on the door that said the restaurant had closed on 5/27. All decked out we stumbled around town to find the only upscale place that would take us. Turns out there was a party of 12 in there who had the same experience. Imagine a party of 12 scrambling around to find a table in a small wine town? Easily Open Table should be on this, and send a note. The restaurant could as well, however if they’re closing/ closed who would do this. While I would normally not give any place just one star, this is the 2nd time I have had this happen with an Open Table reservation. The first time was on New Year’s Eve. There have been no communications from this app regarding this unfortunate experience. I would recommend that all restaurants who take Open Table reservations start working the front desk themselves and stop paying their fees. I would recommend all diners to trust the telephone more. You may be the next. Do not trust this app to be 100% reliable.

Above average but not great food. Service was great.. We sat at bar first for drinks. Nice selection of drinks for resort. I was very pleased with wines/ wine list. Bartenders seemed very knowledgeable. One could have been a little friendlier. So I read a review about the chef and staff snd food. We tried the shareable bread. It was good not great. I was excepting a very rustic complex bread. We had dinner and I ask about their bread. We tried the sour dough with grains. ***** five stars. Very fresh and rustic and light. Yummmmmmy. Our waitress was very knowledgeable and friendly and made our experience pleasant. I tried a few red wines. Very pleased. My wife had some cocktails that she was happy with. I tried the Neopolaltin pizza. 7.3. Good flavor margarita pizza. Crust was flat. Nice and light crust. Pizza had slightly to much sauce. But I like the sauce. The cheese was very Goood but sparse. It tasted very good. Just not great. My wife had plan pasta with basil and garlic and oil. It was very good. Yet lack some oil or butter. But that was my wife’s faults. LoL. I had the ceviche. Very citric and at one point fishey. I did enjoy it. But the citric over powered the ceviche. I definitely recommend this place. We will be back for the service, location and food and complimentary valet. We plan to go back to try there signature dishes.

Open Table and Apple Update issues. So I used to love using OpenTable because of the points that you can earn for certificates. However, for the last 2 to 3 times when iPhone updates have occurred, my settings have change. The button that asks if I want to earn points has become “untoggled” each time. I do not sit on my app and look at every single setting and particularly for this one. It should be defaulted to earning points and then if you don’t wish to earn points, you can opt out. I reached out before because I noticed after a few dining reservations that I did not earn any points I was told today that I had exceeded the number of courtesies allowed on the lifetime of my account!!! Since when do courtesies expire or have limits attached especially when it’s of no wrong doing by the user? Not happy about this and do not have a problem going to the majority of the restaurants that we frequent on the regular, without using OpenTable if this is going to be case with them.

Mostly good. It's a useful service that I've used for years but there are a couple of annoying things about the app: 1) first of all, because you're on mobile, the app defaults you to "book a table near me now" mode and it's a little hard to navigate out of that. Most of the time I'm using the app, it's because I'm on the go or in a meeting - not because I need a table right then. It's annoying to constantly figure out how to book a table for a future date, in a distant neighborhood. It takes way too many clicks to do this. App designers: there's more than one mobile use case; more than one user journey. 2) rebooking a table doesn't seem to work. I tried at various times of the day and kept getting error messages, or no error just no success. I ended up having to call the restaurant directly which to me, defeats a lot of the purpose of OpenTable. Also, as others have noted, using rewards is a pain. This is the fault of the company, not the app, so it doesn't figure into my app rating, but I would advise against giving an Open Table gift certificate as a gift to anyone. There are way too many limitations, rules, and annoying steps to redeem.

True Food Kitchen. It’s been maybe three weeks since we evacuated for Ida. Upon returning to Nola yesterday evening we were of course hungry from a days traveling and decided to order from our go to the true food kitchen. Besides their dishes being just plain good the service is also above board as if you have real and or serious food allergies the staff will go out of their way and pleasantly I might add to ensure that you don’t get anything you shouldn’t. The staff are never put off by that so if you like me have actual and not pretend n fashionable food allergies you might call the kitchen and they’ll go all out for you! Having been here working since May (4 plus months) True Food Kitchen is a perfect go to for lunch or more so dinner when you’ve just walked in the door and not really wanting to whip up something on your own. I’ve tried a few different delivery services yet have found ordering directly from the kitchens website is best and again you can always call it in..

It’s getting annoying. I like the concept of this app and fully support the idea. It gets as difficult as calling the restaurant, though, since I have to have many of these apps and I can remember who is on which app. But I digress, because that is not the direct problem of these programmers. What IS a direct issue is that it appears my account keeps getting deleted. I had an account, it even had points on it, but I didn’t use it a ton, because it is expensive to go out to eat and there aren’t a lot of restaurants near me that use this app. I went on a few months ago and tried to sign on, but the app prompted me to create an account. Okay, annoying and I lost my points, but okay. Then about a month ago, same thing. At that point I had 300 points. Now, they’re all gone and I have a new account when I had a reservation on the previous account. I actually had to call the restaurant, because despite the fact that my credentials were the same none of my points or previous reservations were there. Thankfully, the reservation is still booked at the restaurant, but it’s getting to the point it isn’t worth it to me. If I have to call the restaurant anyway, why use the app??

Easy breezy to use with one big flaw. Great app, use it all the time. But, one thing that has to be fixed is the restaurant search feature, which doesn't seem to care how far a restaurant is from your location if there is no restaurant with that name locally. Example: Searched for a restaurant and selected my city. The results give me first a restaurant that’s 400 miles away in another country followed by restaurants in my country that I guess were more farther away by distance. Okay, so no restaurant with that name locally, so just tell me! How about saying there are no restaurants with that name locally, followed by similar cuisine restaurant suggestions? Or even better, be able to select criteria that most closely fit that restaurant profile? That would be a lot more useful than accidentally reserving a restaurant 400 miles away in another country!

Location improvements needed. This app is great for booking reservations, but searching for new restaurants in specific areas is always so frustrating. In Chicago, there are distinct neighborhoods, all with an abundance of delicious restaurants to try, but on open table you wouldn’t know this based on how their search function operates. I’ve noticed if you search and select a specific neighborhood, example: “Lincoln Park”, the restaurants shown are not in the Lincoln park area at all, and even show their location as “west loop” or “river north”, so it’s not that the restaurant has put the wrong neighborhood, it’s the APP that is showing sponsored restaurants in far neighborhoods, over restaurants in the neighborhood I’m specifically looking in. This is incredibly frustrating because if I’m trying to find a new place to try in my neighborhood, but open table insists on showing restaurants across the city, even when I’ve tried to search in my neighborhood, then I will not see open table as a reliable source to suggest new restaurants.

Points expire and no customer service. I’ve had this app for 10 years and had used it whenever I made a reservation. The big problem with this app and the reason I’m deleting it, is that your points expire. That would be a big deal if they hadn’t let them expire in. Year where there was a pandemic. In my opinion, they took advantage of the situation and cleared their liability in a yess as r where no one could make reservations. I think this company does bad business and there are plenty of other means of making a reservation. Previously I wrote this a few years ago too when it happened: I’ve been using the app for several years now and should have over 2000 points but despite being able to see all my reservation history, the points are suddenly down to 200. I emailed the app about it but my email went unanswered. The app is useless if the points expire. I’m sure they’re making fees from the reservation, but then they limit how long you get your points? That’s crap...and so is the app.

Spins and spins and shows open reservation that is canceled. This app is useless. It used to be good. I booked a reservation and invited people and it notified them of the invites but then it didn't bother to notify any of them that I canceled the reservation. It also didn't push any notifications to me and didn't text. It sent an email. Who wants an email when PUSH and TEXT are turned on. When I canceled it did the same thing. My cancelation confirmation was NOT texted or pushed to my phone, the app just sent an email. Who wants email when a text is so convenient? N O B O D Y! Additionally, on the Home screen of this now totally useless app, it shows the reservation as still being open and confirmed, then it blinks and flips to reservation canceled and it just keeps spinning and switching between open and canceled. I logged out and shut it down. Same issue. I check all settings and everything is as it should be. I checked for an app update. There is none. I waited a day and tried again. Same issues. App is useless and I am tired of playing a guessing game. If I want a reservation I will book through the restaurants from now on. This app is unreliable and it's more work than it's worth. I had to contact everyone on my guest list to notify them our reservation is canceled. Terrible!

Janie. We had an excellent meal at Hogan’s on Mothering Sunday. We booked last minute through the Open Table app. Will definitely use the app again and have already booked to go again to Hogan’s at the end of May.

Great food - poor service. The food was tasty, spicy and delicious. The service felt confused, impersonal and inconsistent. The atmosphere was also disappointing. The view is great... but overall, average - if you like to eat over priced Indian with loud drunk people, it might be for you

Missing key function. Once you book at a restaurant, there’s no ability to update the reservation if numbers change - you have to call - seems like a pretty significant oversight

Easy to use. Open Table is simple, all your details are online, including past restaurants booked. All you have to do is choose a restaurant, add the date, no of people and time ....... takes the hassle out of choosing a restaurant.

Terrible online and via the app. I’ve down loaded this app and unable to book a table through this app or on line. Online the booking times go no further , on the app I booked a time and it came up with a blank page that had a cancel button on the top left corner. Impossible to use !!

Amazing food and service. In New York on a family vacation from Australia. We wanted a quiet little Italian restaurant with homemade pasta. The service and food was exceptional..... Thank you

Great website but hard to find restaurants you know the exact spelling even with dashes. Dashes on top of letters are an issue

App never works. I’ve tried several times to use the app to make a booking, but there is always a server problem or a password problem. I’ve only ever been able to book through open table by deleting the app and booking as a guest online. Lots of work to do before I’ll try and install it again.

Just too easy when booking a dinner reservation. This is the fastest and easiest way to Mae a dinner reservation. It’s become the only way I book a dinner out

Convenient. Easy to use, especially as so many places still require booking post COVID. Every booking has worked and you can often make specific requests for positions or inform that I will be bringing SED in training.

Service was meh!. I have always love the wine store/ European but today wasn’t the day. They waitress was rude, and ehh, I think wiping her noise while speaking and watching her eat behind the bar was just a step too far. She also forgot items we ordered and just seemed like she didn’t want to serve us or be there. We had to ask for our drinks after food arrived, ask about the dish missing, ask for dessert after sitting there for some time. Unfortunately the service let the whole team down as there was other staff that where delightful and I know she was the difference between average and a great experience. The food was good over all. However, it use to be better, when ordering cheese you once had a selection of bread and biscuits, some quince paste and maybe some walnuts, it set you apart but today just bead cheese and dried grapes, it’s not the standard I expected, having had better in the past.

Inconvenient scheduling. Doesn’t allow you to book back to back reservations within two hours of each other so you can’t say have drinks at one place before moving to the next . Also doesn’t allow you to book more than five people at our chosen venue I had to call the restaurant . Pointless app for groups and no flexibility.

A wide variety of choices. Open table have covered every restaurant booking option one could ever think of. You can see the style of food, location, distance, menus and most important if there is a free time for your reservation.

Lockdown. Not very happy to get a message saying we didn’t turn up for a booking when we are all in lockdown

Love Open Table. Too easy - just the way I like it Hassle free and easy to use Highly recommend this app

Works great but .... App is great, awesome interface and functionality but made my first booking and the restaurant dis not check it on their end, so had to settle for an unpleasant spot as a walk in. ☹️

App has a malfunction in restaurant search. Made a RSV, no booking was sent to the restaurant. Turned out i booked the same name of restaurant in USA. But this restaurant is still showing under Brisbane , even now. Opentable ruined the special dinner night. No wonder people use DIMMI, deleted the app. Opentable admitted the malfunction and mistake, but no further action. Very disappointed to open table staff how to manage the issue and their unprofessionalism. Dont use this app

Make dining reservations super easy!!. Hi having access to Open table and all the information included on all of the listed restaurants makes the viewing and booking reservations a treat. Thanks

Breakfast. We live across from the lodge in Fraser Road, So perhaps you could call us locals! This is not our first time dining.. it’s actually our 4th.. the meals took longer than normal.. and not all our breakfasts came at the same time, our over the rainbow milkshake was missing a straw which I had to chase up as no one was available to ask, the sunny coast toast description said tomatoes however there was only half a tomato, the ration of avocado to goats cheese in this dish was significantly noticeable, the kids pancake was delivered incorrectly (plain) but soon rectified, full viewing of the chef preparing meals showed the chef lady’s facial expressions to be somewhat other than happy… this experience won’t effect us in dining in the future however our previous experiences have been far better than this.

Not available to walk-ins. You can only leave a review, if you make a reservation through the site. I joined today as l was assaulted by the owner of Baritalia, Surfers Paradise/Broadbeach, so l wanted to leave a review. Not able to, because l was a walk-in and didn’t book through the site. Should be able to leave genuine reviews! This man is being investigated by the Police.

Terrible. As an EA I book restaurants all the time. I always enter my email address to receive the confirmation of the booking. When booking a restaurant through Open Table it doesn’t take any notice of the first and last name you enter in the fields required. It seems to take an old name I first used with my email address. Therefore every time I make a booking the first & last name are wrong, I then have to contact the restaurant to correct the name of the booking. It’s quite frustrating that the app/website takes no notice of the fields I have enetered. I have given this feedback & complained to open table but they said every email address is registered with a name. I don’t know what the point of having a name field in a booking is for when it totally ignores this. I wouldn’t recommend open table, I only book through it if I have no other choice.

Changes reservation times. I will never use this unreliable app again. For the second time it changed my reservation, there is no 17:30 to be selected on the app, however somehow it will change my 7:30 selection to 17:30. Two date nights had to be cancelled last minute due to this, embarrassing. Stick to other avenues, I’d stay away from this app.

Too many glitches. When putting in birthday you have to select 9 for it to come up with 8. Couldnt find my favourite restaurant in the saved section, then when I clicked save on that restaurant in the booking section, it didn't appear in the saved section.

App has issues. Booking system is fine. App itself is a great idea. However when you sign up after booking you have never allocated yourself or been allocated a password. Attempted reset password which didn’t email any of my inboxes. Emailed help desk who couldn’t help at all. So now I have an account that has no password that I cannot access.

Restaurants closed. Booked a restaurant/bar on the app for New Years Eve for 9 pm thinking we could welcome in 2023 with a cocktail. Received a text from Open Table asking me to confirm the booking which I did. Arrived to find the place was closed until 13th January. By then it was getting fairly late for dinner. We were disheartened but looked on the app to see another restaurant nearby had a 9.30 time slot. Rang to check and they told me that had already closed. I’m not sure how this could happen. Very disappointing.

Great app!. This is a really good app for seeing what’s available around you! We stumbled across some lovely places to eat which we usually wouldn’t tried thanks to open table! Its really handy if you decided you wanted to eat out at short notice you can see what’s around, especially now post lockdown the majority of places is booking only!

Buggy app. This app is always a pain to use, interface is clunky and never gets better. Also malfunctions. I was trying to add my review photos, but progress got stuck on 3 of 6 photos. I tapped the progress to see if I could retry, but the status just disappeared and there was no way to view, continue, or restart the progress, nor edit my review to add the missing photos (disabled).

Quick and efficient. Saves me time and energy

Average. Firstly app couldn’t connect to the server, then gave the spinning wheel of death which meant I had to cancel out of the transaction, then wouldn’t accept my initial credit card which meant I had to go through entire booking again with different card. Frustrating experience considering I was trying to book an expensive restaurant.

Cannot live without it!. Honestly a god send. I no longer have to trawl to internet to find what restaurant is available at a certain time/date

Changing my booking. The app allows you to modify your booking but never seems to change the actual booking in the end. No feedback or options to complete the update just “done” and nothing changes? Very annoying when the place you’re booking your night with won’t answer their phone because they’re relying on this technology to do it for them.

Selective with review posting. I dined at a Melbourne restaurant and the service was poor and the food ok. I wrote this in a review but OpenTable didn’t post it. Seems there only after 4 and 5 star reviews and not reality. And so this app uses people’s experience and reviews but they’re fake as they exclude reviews that are glowing.

Always pleasing. we have enjoyed many meals at Tinamba Hotel, the ambiance is delightful, the meals always beautiful, great presentation, always a pleasure to return. Connie Cunningham

Glitches. Good app but lately lots of glitches that could be fixed. Won’t cancel a booking I made, flickers back and forth between booking/cancelled booking on the home page. It also doesn’t remember the specific time I’m looking at for reservations and resets after I’ve clicked on a restaurant, which is annoying when I’m trying to find a place on a specific day.

Quick and easy to book!. I’ve booked a number of restaurants through Open Table. It’s quick and easy and saves a phone call. The places I’ve booked with have always had our table ready so can recommend this service.

Fratilli Fresh. On arrival the booking system said for 4 when our reservation email said for 2....this might have been a bad omen. They wanted our order in a timely manner but it fell apart from there. Our mains arrived, before our appetisers & and way before our wine. There was chaos while they tried to sort it out. Sending our mains back was a mistake we should have stayed with disorderly arrival if food. Food was ok but not up to what it had been on prior visits. Hope it was just a bad night, but we won’t be back in a rush - they just didn’t care. Food not good either!!

Really bad UX. Not sure why everyone likes this app so much. Firstly, you can’t use it if you block cookies. And secondly, it wouldn’t work if i was trying to use Facebook to login. It’s very clunky to use and not as seamless as Dimmi. I think I can forgive the minor errors if they allowed me to make my booking without having to download the app because they want me to unblock cookies.

Great booking system. Any restaurant wanting to complete today needs to be on open table app

Great time saver. I’ve used open table for all my Resturant bookings before going on our USA trip a month ahead, it’s great when you know you have a packed time table on any trip, confirmation is quick and you can get reminders and updates, it’s fantastic for when you don’t want to miss out on popular dining spots or when your doing multiple cities in a short time frame

Very pleased. Love using OpenTable. Makes bookings easy and I don’t have to stress about trying to call a busy restaurant. Wish all everywhere used it!

Very Easy way.. This system is user friendly & makes it easy to make a booking for dinner.

Toorak Hotel. Initially only a 1700hrs reservation showing. Tried ringing direct on a number of occasions with no answer. Once credit card details placed in open table, found many time slots. Not sure what this is about? We do enjoy going there for dinner quite a lot. Good service & food.

Easy way to book Sydney restaurants. I enjoy using this app as it saves me time by allowing me to look and book local restaurants quickly.

Sensational. This is our second visit in 12 months - not bad for Brisbane folk. So good we have just booked again - good enough to go twice in two weeks. Food is amazing and the service is sensational. Claire our waitress had a thorough understanding and played a big part in our wonderful evening.

Pepper berry. What a fabulous restaurant we have eaten her 3 nights in a row and the food has been wonderful! Very happy to recommend staying at the Hilton Darwin just for the lovely staff and the incredible food.

Easy to use. Super easy site to use to make a booking

Booking heaven. So easy to use, so easy to choose a place based on time

One of several options in Australia. Good app and I have used extensively in the US where it seems to have much greater market penetration. Was always super convenient when exploring and booking dining options, especially when I was away on conference etc. Doesn’t seem to have penetrated Australian market as well but still worthwhile having on your phone and having an account as an option, and your account will also work in those other countries where it does cover more of the market, so handy if you travel eg to US (post COVID😃) if that ever happens again

Carmel & Darryl Pitman. We have enjoyed quite a number of lunches & Dinners with family & friends since the Banyan Restaurant opened, we frequently visit the club & all the staff are wonderful friendly & very considerate people, the restaurant menu is of excellent quality, I think I have tried the whole menu, so would love to see the rack of Lamb return, & love the new pork chop, love to try more new dishes. We would recommend this club to anyone. 😃👍🏻👍🏻

Ruined Christmas Day. Wish I could leave zero stars for this app. Booked a table for 5 at Urchin Bar. Open Table isn’t synced to the fact the restaurant is closed, instead sending me email reminders of my wonderful upcoming booking. What a glitch, this app is irresponsible and left us all without food on the most important day of the year. Will be notifying the restaurant to remove their patronage from this app.

Brunch at Earls. The Sunday brunch was very good. The service was excellent The staff took the cup

Sent confirmation for wrong date.. Sent confirmation for wrong date.

Good app but verification is garbage. Verification codes send indicate errors always. Fix it please

Cool application. I’m liking this one

Efficient and User friendly!. Thank you!

A bug: inability to add reservation to calendar. This app is great to search out restaurants and quickly make reservations. I noticed there is a bug. When you make a reservation, the option to add it to your calendar doesn’t work. When you check the calendar settings under the privacy settings, you don’t see “OpenTable” listed. I’m currently on iOS 17.1

Confused. For some reason won’t show my reservation unless I open my reservation through my confirmation email and when it shows it’s glitchy and won’t let me tap it plus the “you currently have no reservations” message with overlap the reservation

Points expire during covid. Very disappointed that open table is continuing with their policy of removing your points with 12 months of inactivity given that during covid it has been physically impossible to dine in for much of the last year. All around bad form to treat your users this way.

Cancellation fees. Not happy with the new cancellation fee policy. We’ve been reliable, no no-shows so far, this should be credited somehow

Great. Super app with rewards

Dave. Wouldn’t let me complete verification

Médiocre au niveau du goût et de la présentation. ….

Fantastic. Use this app all of the time, easy to use, get points to spend on dinners!

WTH. when I try to find a good sushi restaurant in my area (New Westminster) there are no results in my area even though I know there are many sushi restaurants around here! On top of that, it shows restaurants in Vancouver, Richmond and beyond. How the hell am I supposed to get ratings in my area?

Cannot find server. Hmmm, can’t imagine what kind of bugs you had before that needed fixing but you appear to have one heck of a big one right now where your app can’t find its server on either iPhone XR or iPad gen6. Kind of pointless

Restaurant had no record of reservation. I arrived at the restaurant on time and was informed that they had no record of my reservation. I had received a text from Open Table to confirm and was confirmed. Luckily they had a table. Now I can’t be confident that a reservation was made. In future I’ll call the restaurant directly to confirm.

Excellentvapp. Easy to use and mostly reliable

So inconvenient. Much redundancy, extra work. Not worth the effort

Love this app!. Super easy to use it and great experience booking restaurants!

Good service but weird searches. I use the product sometimes and would use it more if it only showed restaurants near the search point. For example while looking for a restaurant in downtown Toronto it recommended restaurants in Hamilton (1 /2 hours away) near the top of the list.

Not user friendly. Very difficult to see how to use the app. Takes too long to figure out how to make a reservation.

Excellent food. Excellent food and even better service. Got some great advice on the menu and wine pairing from our server

Didn’t receive my rewards. I only write this one, because I worked hard and stayed at a lot of restaurants cash in my rewards, and they never were delivered. I inquired about them several times with no response.

Great App!!...Use it often!!.... Has always worked great for me!...

Awesome—-in every way!. Our party of 4 dined here Sunday Aug. 27’23. The varied menu suited all palettes, and the generous servings were excellent. Our server, Michael, had a thorough knowledge of every item offered, and served us with the most courteous and well-paced speed and attention. His smile and manners were combined with a sense of humour, making the dining experience quite enjoyable. One member of our party preferred that his selection be a bit hotter, and Michael immediately replaced it with a completely fresh serving. Quite the combination of ambiance, great food and attentive service! We will definitely return——often!

What’s with this app. I reserved a table for 6pm and I got a response saying my table is ready at 5pm! Epic fail

Wow. The restaurant reneged on my reservation but OpenTable laid the blame on me. So much for customer service.

Terrible! They are charging transaction fees. For reservations that are not completed. I’ve tried to book a restaurant five times and after getting multiple error messages like: “ Hmm.. we are having trouble some trouble communicating with our servers. Try again later” I realize that I have five charges on my card, and no reservation at all. Customer support was useless. They told me to solve it with my bank.

Difficult to navigate. Keeps showing the same restaurants. Difficult to navigate on a mobile device.

Smurph. Grand app and segway for reservations. So easy to use. Restaurants always aware your coming!!!

Fantastic app. So easy to make reservations, edit them or cancel them.

Excellent Resource. Love using the app to research and book restaurants. The only issue I have is leaving a special request. Many times it does not register directly with the restaurant itself.

Easy. Easy

Convenience for the ‘Foodies’. I have used this app for years and it’s always well run. Never any issue upon arrival and easy to use.

Good app. Sometimes does not reserve easily. But generally the app works very well.

Great service. Love this reservation app. Makes it so easy to dine at my local fav restaurants

So Convenient. Easy and simple and better then calling

Easy to use. I enjoy this App, always works.

Enjoyable. Very satisfied with the ambience and food choices

Wow. Facile d’utilisation!

Reservations. I’ve made several reservations through this app and I have not received any points at all. Please advise why this is. I won’t use this app any more then.

Only ap to use when traveling. I use this ap to find great restaurants while in different cities.

Another App. Would be nicer if it populated PayPal as an option

Love it. Great app

Staff. We were very unhappy with the staff and the attitude. They sat us right by the kitchen and we asked if we could have alternative setting, as there was multiple tables empty and the hostess replied that she would find us a better table. After we also told the waiter that we were moving to a table not directly by the kitchen for my girlfriends birthday, he replied that the tables I pointed out would be full soon. About 10 minutes later after I witnessed the waiter talk to the hostess the hostess told us there were no more tables available. We left at that point and I will tell you I have never been so mistreated in my life. If this is your business model, good luck keeping your business you will never see us there again.

Precisely what I wanted. I you’re someone who loves dining and just can’t live without it, this review is for you. The moment I found OpenTable a week ago (pretty short time), I fell in love with it. It is able to give you recommendations beyond what you see everyday on the streets. Personally, I live in a boring area of Toronto where food is pretty sparse. However, OpenTable is able to help me find those one or two absolute gems in my area for me to feast in and host guests. Which, perfectly fitted my mood for the day and precisely what I desperately needed and wanted. Thank you OpenTable for doing such a good job and succeeding in what you do.

Rewards sucks. Need like 20 restaurants under the belt to get anything. I’ve used this app for 3 years now and still no rewards lol what’s the point

The Merchant Tavern 291 Water St. St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, NL, Canada A1C 1B9. Wouldn’t recommend this restaurant. Lots of hype on travel websites but not great. Very noisy and very slow service with no explanation why we waited over 45 minutes between starter removal and main arrival. Waitress never smiled and cold to us. Mussels in extremely salty and greasy broth.

Bug with add to calendar.. Great app; but the add to calendar feature doesn’t work in iOS17. The OpenTable app doesn’t appear in settings>privacy>calendar

Easy Reservation Booking. This is the best way to book a reservation and you can book at any time in the day.

Wonderful Wedding Anniversary moment at Merchants. My wife and I are visiting Nashville again and decided to have dinner at Merchants on Broadway. The staff was wonderful as they always are, and kept apologizing for how long it was taking. We honestly hadn’t noticed and didn’t think it was taking long at all, we were just enjoying watching the people walking outside up and down Broadway. The manager talked to us on several occasions (and brought one of favorite items, the spiced sweet pickles) and then surprised us after dinner with a wonderful Happy Anniversary card signed by the staff. We will remember how gracious everyone was to us on our 27th anniversary. We highly recommend stopping in and visiting this Nashville landmark. Thank you to everyone at Merchants!

New App does the most.... ...and that’s not a good thing. I can’t even scroll down to view restaurants without being interrupted by the app asking me something about saving “it” (whatever “it” is— restaurant) in messages? Then the restaurant listing detaches from the list and moves around causing me to stop what I’m doing and restart my scroll OR I have to be extra careful about my finger placement in the scroll. Stick the the basics and make the app smart, instead of forcing needless features on users. I absolutely have started calling restaurants so as not to have to deal with OpenTable’s app (sad bc I was an avid app user). The inconvenience and annoyance is not enough for me to want to go back into the app.

Great way to make and track dinner plans. The new interface took a little getting used to but the app still works great. It is easy to search restaurants and times. One feature I would like to see added: search the next availability for a specific time. This would help with really popular places that always seem to be booked. ---- Update: this is still my go-to when I want to make a res. It used to be easier to send a notice of the reservation to others from within the app, but now they want you to link other party members which presumes they have the app themselves. Now I just wait until I get the confirmation email and forward that. I used a $100 reward a couple years ago and need to claim another.

Not impressed this time. We have eaten many times at this restaurant and have always been satisfied, but not this time. When we arrived, the plates at our table for appetizers were dirty and while we pointed it out to our hostess and our server neither person apologized. In addition, the sever (Isidoro) was not very attentive. When we were being seated, the hostess asked if we were celebrating anything and we indicated that we were celebrating our daughter’s birthday. This was not conveyed to our server. He could have at least wished her a happy birthday or brought her a complimentary dessert as we have received in the past. While the food was very good the service was below average. Very disappointed!

A hidden gem!. Don’t be fooled by the location. This is a wonderful Italian restaurant. I was in Bristow for a week, wondering where I could get a decent meal. Open Table made me aware of Tortino Mare. The location is a strip mall - the food is WORTH THE TRIP! The dining room is pleasant. The menu offers good choices. I started with the fennel and beet salad. Beautifully presented, with olive oil, walnuts and cheese. While I was tempted by the swordfish special, I went with the lamb chops. Delicious! The balsamic glaze made me lick my fingers! Even the gelato dessert revealed an attention to detail. And, a special shout out to my server, Javier, who was well-aquatinted with the preparation of the food, and knew how to make a guest feel welcomed. While I don’t come to Northern Virginia often, this place is definitely on my “must return to” list!

Horrible service, even for easy-going guests. We are easy-going guests. We are millennials. We don’t have a ton of money to spend. We tip 20% to everyone, even the person who just hands us a pre-made muffin. We can forgive, smile, and honestly chuckle at what many people today can’t stand for five seconds without taking to Nextdoor or Yelp to complain about. We have never left a negative review. We try to understand. But this dining experience was a disappointment on so many levels. We should have heeded the recent warnings by others but we hung on to the positive experience we had there (maybe by chance, who knows) last year. From nearly 30 minutes at our table without service and never knowing our waiter’s name, to then receiving a check for $35, giving our card and then receiving a charge for $75 without apology... yeah. Do not recommend, even if you are an “easy-going guest.”

Accruing points should not be optional.. I very much like using Open Table & periodically check to see if there are any additional restaurants in the area that are affiliated with OT. It’s very convenient & quick to use. More restaurants should use it. However, I haven’t used the app in a while until I went on vacation & wanted to make a reservation. I was in a hurry & did not take notice to the option to earn points, and of course missed earning points. It makes me mad that I missed the opportunity to earn points for that reservation. This makes no sense to me whatsoever. Why wouldn’t I want to earn points? Of course I want points! And if it’s optional, then it should be turned on by default. If someone doesn’t want points for some reason, let them be the ones that have to opt out.

Pleasant application with inclusive design for blind users. I would like to share my first time experience with this application. Not only does this application offer a lot of interesting and easy to use services, but also it has been designed fully inclusively with people with other abilities in mind. I am legally blind, using screen readers to interact with digital world. Screen readers allow blind people to receive audio representation of the digital content. This application is more than 90% usable and fully accessible with voiceover, the screen reader on my iPhone. Additionally, as a first time user, I found everything intuitively designed in a very pleasant way. Kudos to OpenTable, kudos to its designers.

Ain’t No Better Than Rory’s. If you’re looking for delicious food, huge selection of beer and liquor, fun (lots of that), friendly wait staff and a clean bathroom, you found it. No need to go anyplace else. We met James behind the bar about 2 weeks ago. Even when we told him one of us is Italian and of of us is Jewish, he just couldn’t have been friendlier and we laughed, drank and ate for the entire time we were there. Went back last night and it was packed with everyone having a great time. I had pork schnitzel (I’m Jewish) and it was soooooo delicious. That’s my dish 4ever. Thanks James. See you before 6. Ready for some good laughs, food and beer. Skip the other places. THIS IS THE ONLY PLACE. 🍺🥃🍸🍷and 🏈

Not as good as previous visits. Had wonderful experiences in earlier visits..however, this time was a bit disappointing. Ordered a drink, straight, took 15 minutes to arrive. Entree (pasta) was served lukewarm and unlike the customer who had the same dish, I was not offered table side fresh grated cheese and his dish was steaming. Ordered blueberry pie to go. Opened the box and found a quarter of a slice. Asked our waiter for an appropriate portion, he took it back only to return and tell us the employee who boxed it had given us the last piece of the pie and that was all that was left. Replaced it with a piece of key line pie but did not the small piece of blueberry pie as he promised. Again..disappointed and surprised based on previous visits. Server was nice and apologetic but overall this was not a great experience.

Worst service. Made reservations for 5 - our 3 year old fell asleep quietly as we started ordering after our drinks arrived. We asked for an extra chair and they told us kids can’t sleep - and essentially they were kicking us out because we were not going to wake up our child and have him cry. We have been to most 4-5 star restaurants in manhattan with our kids and have experienced such insensible rudeness. I am a well know physician in manhattan and we accommodate and we pride ourselves on service to our customers or patients - I have never experienced in any restaurant such rudeness and insensibility - by the way this is my first bad review I have ever written a restaurant

Fast & easy booking, with diff restaurant recommendations. Using open table has been very useful in booking & finding restaurants! I use it every time I will be dining out & need to book, or if I’m looking for a restaurant near by they have many different recommendations WITH photos! It’s not like yelp where you have to login to see photos or read reviews. With open table they’re viewable to anyone. Open table reduces your wait time due to having a reservation, but sometimes it’s hard to reserve through the restaurants webpage and/or by calling. Very convenient, I recommend it to my friends & family. They’re also very fast at responding to inquires.

Slowly squeezing the Value Out of this Service. I’ve used this app for many, many years. It was always excellent for two things. First, no matter where in the country you were, the app identified great restaurants. Second the rewards program was icing on the cake. You accumulate points by reserving meals through the Open Table app. Initially, those points could be used to acquire $20, $50 coupons at participating Open Table Restaurants. The rewards program morphed over time. Now points generally have far less buying power. For better restaurants, the discount can be half of what it used to be. More aggravating is that redeeming your points is like pulling teeth from a snail. I’m looking for competing services.

Can’t login to my account on iPhone. Created my account using their web site on my MacBook and used Google login. Worked great. Was able to make a reservation and all was well. Downloaded this app. The sign in does not present an option to sign in using Google login. Strange - why would you allow Google login on your web site but not your iOS app? But wait - it gets worse! I then attempted to open their web site on my iPhone. Guess what? There’s no option to login using Google login. What?!?! Because I created my account on my MacBook using Google login and then made reservations I can’t access any of that on my iPhone? Here’s a test case you guys missed! Worse yet, I chose to “contact support.” They provide a nice text box to type your question and provide a “paper airplane prompt” (send button icon) leading me to think the question would be sent to support! NOPE! It’s sent to a bot that will search in vain for an answer that’s not there. I’m hoping they read customer reviews and look into it.

Harder to use than desktop. I’ve been using Open Table on my laptop since the early 00’s and switched to the app about two years ago. They have a pretty big base of restaurants to choose from and I’ve discovered a lot of long-standing favorites as a result of exploring. My biggest complaint about the app is that the map search feature regularly resets itself when you try to zoom in too closely on a neighborhood. The overall navigation is a little difficult, compared to the desktop version, (which I sometimes pull up on my phone if I need to find something fast). It’s also not possible to redeem rewards on the app, which is frustrating. Their rewards system has changed to a less desirable redemption process as well, but I guess that is unrelated to the app itself.

Exceptional?. My wife and I received a gift certificate as a thank you for our job as educators. We were very excited to try a new restaurant especially one as highly lauded as Erling Jensen. Our server and food were excellent. However, we felt very out of place as the chef visited every single table that surrounded us yet never stopped by our table.... there were only six tables seated. We are hard working dedicated professionals who work just as hard as those seated around us. Again, the food and wait staff were excellent but the obvious exclusion makes any possible return very unlikely. If a person walks into such an establishment they should be afforded the same level of service as everyone one else. What should have been a very romantic and meaningful experience was reduced to an excellent yet uncomfortable meal.

James Gee, Maitre D, at Al Biernat’s, Oak Lawn Restaurant, Dallas. When I want fine dining and a friendly atmosphere, I always think of Al Biernat’s Restaurant on Oak Lawn! Now they have added a terrific new colleague, James Gee, whom is truly a great match for their wonderful team! James is always so attentive and he makes you feel like family when you walk in. I particularly like the way James gives extra special attention, by taking the time to post social media photos of himself with his guests in front of Al Biernat’s signage. James always tries to be so helpful and thoughtful in every way; and, from here forward, it will be a pleasure to call him when I need special dining arrangements, etc. Thank you James, and thank you Al Biernat’s, for being on my “favorite list” of maitre d’s and top restaurants in Dallas!

Very convenient - rewards are frustrating. This service is very nice to use and a lot easier than calling places for reservations. Love using it! So far we have had no problems with the service. It appears the page to redeem your rewards is useless though... if you are going to have it only available on your website and through a specific link in an email, this page should be removed from the app. I also noticed that my dining rewards couldn’t be used on my reservations UNLESS I booked from the link that was sent to my email about my rewards. This is wrong. If I have rewards available, when I book a place it should show up. This is the second thing with your rewards that has become a tad frustrating. Now I have 2 reservations that I could have used my rewards at, but now I can’t because I didn’t use the special link…..

Merely Meh for actual help. I’m now joining the ranks of those who see this app flagging and less focused on the user experience, something that should reveal why such an app should be more useful and valuable in the first place, instead of less valuable and less relevant to user needs. And plus, a pet peeve is any app that offers rewards and then removes them with no notification, alleging inactivity. That’s funny, because I have confirmation numbers which validate activity. So here’s the thing OP. You have competitors and many of them are proving to be more genuine, viable and user friendly because they focus on what users actually want—-like a more nuanced search. So, if you cannot upgrade your app in those critical ways, then why should we choose you? You’re lost, OP, and you are losing us.

T54. The wait is finally over! Massimo and Antoinnette’s attention to detail are obvious the moment you walk through the door. Bright decor and the aroma of homemade Italian Cuisine is pleasantly inviting! We ordered several appetizers from the menu beginning with the Burrata, Sticky Ribs, Shrimp Cocktail, Calamari and my favorite, the Grilled Octopus! For our next course, we ordered a variety of different entrees including Filet Mignon, Faroe Island Salmon and Rigatoni Bolognese which is Grandma’s Recipe! Everything was cooked to perfection and the staff is incredible! We have already made reservations to return to tackle the already famous T54 Burger! Do yourself a favor and order the Espresso Martini, Trust me, you won’t be disappointed! Bon appétit !!!

Not well-suited to users with voiceover. Well the app works with voiceover, there are certain very annoying aspects that work very poorly. Particularly, when booking a table if you have to change the date and time with voiceover you have to swipe each time and then move your finger away from the field and swipe again to change the date there’s no way to move quickly through the dates the way you can with a standard Apple date picker. If you turn off voiceover you can feel haptic feedback as you rotate through the dates and times but this is not available to users with voiceover and it’s very clunky requiring a swipe move off the field and another swipe so this is very poor and in adequate otherwise the app works well

Open Table App is Worthless. I live in Boston. I only mention this because it is a dense restaurant/dining scene. When I enter Chestnut Hill (an urban/suburban neighborhood immediately outside the city), the OpenTable app offers restaurant suggestions from 12 miles away in the suburbs (Burlington, MA) and 5 miles away in downtown Boston. To break that down into smaller, digestible bites,… If the app cannot deliver restaurant suggestions in a neighborhood (Chestnut Hill, MA in this case) then the app should not offer the option of the Chestnut Hill neighborhood. It’s a waste of users’ time. As I understand things, OT could have owned the restaurant/dining/reservation space, but were greedy. When they overcharged restaurants, the restaurants moved on to other apps. A shame when you consider the market share they could’ve had, the money they could’ve made, and the user experience (we as users) could’ve had.

Reservation O easy way !. This is the easiest way to make a reservation, for people who don’t make reservations all the time. When you use open table you find all kinds of different restaurants you didn’t even know existed in the area that you want to go eat or live in. I would recommend this app to anyone from a professional person who always has business lunches dinners to a person who needs a place To impress his date. Open table is the way to go I recommend it to everyone. And when friends ask him for a nice place to go eat I always tell them to to get the OpenTable app and you’ll be able to find any restaurant you want to eat it.

Used to be good. Been here a couple time. Came all the way from Yakima to celebrate our anniversary. Usually... the service is exceptional. This evening not so much. After the waitress akwardly greeted us. We ordered and the food came out. Seemed good at first. Then my wife discovered her salmon was cold. We let the (awkward) waitress know and she assured the food would be ready quick. I urged my wife to enjoy my warm plate of food and we finished it and honestly taste great. After waiting for about 20 minutes the waitress came back and assured us the food was only a few minutes longer. I am now waiting on the second mediocre drink I ordered. For longer than an upset customer should. Let’s see if the recognize the short comings... very under appreciated, underwhelmed customer.

Invitees Broken. The contact support option sent me to a generic OT support website. I made a good faith attempt so use the chat tool since you cannot submit a ticket. The chat tool was a bot, so I’m left with leaving ye olde app review. The current version of the app where you invite people to your reservation via calendar invite, that piece is broken. Quick steps; make a reservation, tap the calendar add in the top right, attempt to add invitees, it asks for permission, accept, add invitees, nothing comes up in search, tap plus button to add them instead, contacts do appear here but you cannot add them either. I don’t like to write these in App Store reviews but without a reporting option, this is their acceptable method I guess. Tried other apps since and invitees works fine.

Awesome until it isn’t. We dine out frequently and I use OpenTable all the time across the city. In a foodie city like Dallas it’s a must-have. Today I searched for one of our want-to-go’s and for some reason was populated with a restaurant in Connecticut with the same exact name. I wasn’t paying attention to the exact address and booked a reservation, which naturally I was then unable to make as I don’t have the ability to teleport. Not only did we then obviously have to scramble for a backup option last minute when we got there, OpenTable wouldn’t let me modify my existing reservation or actually book anything in my city until my current res expired. What a cherry on top of a series of extremely annoying events. Thanks guys. Not sure why this wasn’t one of the first considerations in development.

Choo Choo Crafted Cocktails. Positives: Fun and novel experience! Excellent and friendly service. Lots of creative and complex cocktails to choose from. Must order off the bar cocktail menu. No beer or wine in the train car, but three are 2 other bars to choose from. Definitely a place to go when you have friends or family come to town. Tasty bourbon chocolate truffles brought with your check. Yum. Negatives: Parking is rough. Not much availability in their lot, nor next door at their sister bar Sip. Places nearby have tow signs. So during peak times Uber there, don’t subject yourself to the hassle. No food served at the Platform 18, not even a tiny bar snack. 😢. (Menu available in other areas of GP)

Used to be great. Now complete failure. Somthing has gone wrong at opentable. “Servers down” constantly. Will not open app. Going to website also a waste. Asks for phone number instead of login email or older method. Never had a record of which phone I used to use. Created new account(s) without request. Failed to associate my name with my opentable account. Thought I was in San Franscisco and sent warning email that someone else was loging into my account. Booked a reservation but confirming email said I should open an account!! WHAT?? And still, app says servers are down (for days?). Yet can access the website using a browser, but still wont connect to my account.

Points are a scam. I almost never write reviews, but OT deserves this one. It used to be useful for reservations, but points are a total scam. I started using OT in its early early days and back then 2,500 pts could be redeemed for $20 and 5,000 for $50. At some point I got to 2,500 and decided to keep earning to get to 5,000 so I can get the higher reward. Some time later... they dropped the reward for 5k pts to $25 gift cards.. I was at 4.7k pts recently and now I check and find I have 3.9 because they decided to also add a 3-yr expiration to points as well. It’s literally impossible to earn a reward unless you eat at their crappy promoted 1k pts restaurants (not sure if even those exist anymore). Well done, OT, keep running your scam. I’m switching to Resy and Seated. Oh and by the way ratings in the app are totally useless, everything is a 5-star according to them.

Not very impressed with UI. Problems: 1) I mostly wanted to search by map, and it was very hard to find how to do that (the little icon is not great; using the word “map” would be better), 2) I was taken into OpenTable by some restaurant web site, but they did not have availability for that restaurant at the time I wanted, so I broadened my search. Took me a couple minutes to realize that the search results were for my home neighborhood, not the area (Hawaii, a thousand miles away) where the original restaurant I was trying to book is located. That’s an embarrassingly bad UI for such an old and supposedly mature service, I’d think. Combined with not making it easy to find the map view, one can waste a lot of time. Pretty sure I’ve run into this more than once over the years, the majority of times I have ever used the app.

Nice ambiance marginal food. We ate outside last night, perfect evening and great company, wish I could say the same about the food and server. Our server was very friendly, but just goofy. The couple we were with are gluten free, so the discussion started with what appetizers they could eat. We agreed on several things and when she brought them she didn’t bring the flatbread we had talked about. Her comment was we are out tonight, would have been nice to know. Two of us had the tacos, my wife had the gnocchi and lastly was the pork chop. Tacos were lousy, lacked flavor, though the corn was really good. Gnocchi was edible though the chicken was strange and the pork chop was ok. All of the food could have used more spice, even some salt as overall it was bland. They need to raise their game as we all said we won’t be going back.

Disappointing. We are VERY VERY loyal patrons of this restaurant till today when at a last minute notice 5 members of our family unexpectedly came by to join us for brunch, not knowing that we had a reservation here but the hostesses would not let them eat with us or even split up in smaller tables, they said they would have to wait at least an hour so my 3 grandchildren left the restaurant in tears. While we were dining the booth next to us and table next to us were empty the entire time as well many other tables. The hostess/manager apologized for not letting our family join us and said she would give us free dessert, but she never did come thru on that so I guess she wasn’t that sorry. This will probably be our last time to eat there on a Sunday for sure. We should have just walked out and let cafe 501 have the table back for some other patron that walks in off the street at a last minute notice after church to have brunch with their family.

Disappointed. We have been coming to this location for quite some time. Things were rally off this time. The staff didn’t seem to have it together, service was slow, tables weren’t getting cleaned right away. When we sat at the bar prior to our reservation, the main bartender was rude to the 2 other gentleman behind the bar. No one seemed to work together. Typically even during busy times we are in and out. From the time we sat at our table and left it was almost 2 hours. We were sat in the worst possible seat in a high traffic area to the staff constantly walking by. We will not be visiting this location again. The lady manger (didn’t catch her name) was less than pleasant. Learn how to speak to customers. If you would have had a different approach, it wouldn’t have made things much better. We will drive the extra distance to either Schaumburg or oak brook on the future.

Truely Exceptional Service. We have a child with allergies. It is often very difficult to find good options. We know that he can eat hamburger at Legal and it is usually our goto spot. We had never been to the Framingham location but the attention and service level was absolutely outstanding from the hostesses who sat us but especially our server Camilla. She was really great. I mean with two kids 2 and 5, we were messy and a bit unruly but she made us feel welcome and everything things was okay, no problem. We will definitely come back to this specific location in the future. I don’t write reviews that often but level of service was so noticeable that I’m doing this as I pay the bill.

Searching and Sorting Issues. As a New Yorker, I've found Open Table to be reliable for booking and discovering restaurants in most areas of the city. I am grateful for it, truly! Two problems: Starting a search for a particular locale doesn’t work well. Today I searched for restaurants near Lincoln Center NYC and suggestions popped up from Nebraska to near me, in NYC but far from Lincoln Center. This has been going on for as long as I’ve been a member, 2008 in fact. Additionally over the years, I've saved a long list “Favorites” that are listed alphabetically. The trouble is, they can’t be sorted or searched by cuisine, neighborhood, date of attendance, or price. And I can’t delete those that have gone out of business. Not helpful then really!

Chef Timothy Johnson BBKing’s. My husband and I were celebrating our 36th anniversary and we would like to give a special shout out to Chef Timothy Johnson and his entire crew in the kitchen! The food was OUTSTANDING!! Everything came out on time and picture perfect, not to mention everything was delicious! From the ribs, to the roasted chicken to the Cajun chicken pasta everything was Delicious! Our server was amazing as well! The atmosphere was very laid back with a down home vibe. Needless to say we had an awesome time while enjoying great food, entertainment and good company. Again a special thanks to Chef Timothy Johnson for making sure we were well taken care of! We recommend BBKing for any special occasion!

Reservation times. Not exactly sure how to get this app to work. It starts by asking me how many people and what time I would like to eat and then it presents me supposedly with a list of all the area restaurants who have open reservations for that time. then what happens as I pick a restaurant and then it seems to give me more times to select, And then, when I pick one of those times which is the same time, I already told it it tells me there’s no reservations open at that time. So, I already told the app what time I wanted if I can’t have a seating reservation at that particular time I select, then I don’t want to see that restaurant. Could be there is a setting that I am not hearing correctly or correctly, but I think I understand how it works but it’s not doing what I wanted it to do.

The best dining reservation app. I've used OpenTable multiple times on multiple locations. I have never had a problem with the restaurant saying that I did not have a reservation, and I have never had a problem with the application being able to find correct dates and times. This is probably the best application for restaurant explorers or foodies that is on the App Store. If you love to dine and have it be no stress this is a must-have app! Update: I recently bought an Apple Watch (Series 3) and the Open table app keeps saying I have to log in on my phone. I have logged out, then logged in, delete the app off the watch and the phone the reinstalled... still the watch app doesn’t work. A quick Google search shows this is a problem for a lot of people. I can not give this app 5 stars again until this is fixed.

Removed the “add to calendar” option. This baffles me. Going out to a restaurant, there are a few things that are important - which restaurant, the address, the day, and the time. In the past, there was a button to hit that would put all of this information in my calendar. I wouldn’t even call it a feature, as it’s the most obvious thing in the world. Think of it like assuming that a calculator app has a plus sign button. If it lacks that plus sign button, you know the developer made a serious error. Guess what, the OpenTable people have decided that everyone can copy all that data in by hand. All the people complaining here and on Twitter are just ignored. Nice improvement there, guys.

“Unable to communicate with servers”. I am a long term app user. But over the last 3 weeks, I have been frustrated with the app’s slowness, inability to connect with servers and the never ending blue wheel. Why use Open Table when you end up having to call the restaurant ( one frequently reserved by OT in the past) by phone? More recently has resulted in loss of NYE seating due to the same connectivity issues. The only restaurants that are presented quickly are the ones who don’t book via OT and you have to call those places anyway. There was a new update a week ago. On my A. 12 Pro Max, that update was unsuccessful.

Changing locations in search. For the most part, the app is great except if you travel a lot, trying to get it to look for restaurants in a particular location that you are not currently in is extremely frustrating and difficult to make work. For example, at the moment, you’re in city XYZ but tomorrow going to city ABC and you want to search and book a restaurant in ABC for tomorrow is not a user friendly proposition. The same applies if your in a large city, NY, for example, but looking for a restaurant in a suburb or outlying city, very frustrating. It seems to default to current location which is only good if that’s where you’re trying to find a restaurant, otherwise a frustrating experience.

Great but poor support. I have used Open Table for years very successfully for business and personal dinners of all sizes, places and locations. So what’s the problem? Trying to change email addresses has been impossible. The on-line process sends endless repeated questions in a never ending loop. Found a real person chat (not the AI chat you start with) who said he would help me but he suddenly dropped off with comment “I will send an email and tell you that it’s fixed.” Email never came and the email did not change. Soon my old email will stop working and I will be unable to contact OpenTable or their many restaurants. There’s no apparent phone number and a simple quick conversation would solve this instead of endlessly sending the same questions over and over by their sad AI chatbot.

Ok but harder to advise others now. Another example of a poorly managed "upgrade " / modification to a popular app. It used to be so easy to send a message to your guests with the info. There was a little arrow clearly visible and presto. Now you need to "add guests" and it appears you can only do it as a text, not an email....what if you don't have their mobile number, which often occurs with a business associate. Also once the message arrives, whether a text or something else, it should have an Outlook/ other calendar option so you/ they don't have to manually add the info to their calendar. These should be easy and obvious things but seem to have been overlooked.

Creative and delicious with an open sexy bar.. I went last night after Pilates at G:50 down the street. Didn’t know their bar opens right up across the front, over looking Robertson. Great summer vibe. The restaurant is beautiful and everything I have eaten their every time has been exceptionally creative and delicious. To name a few items: their raw oysters and brine, lobster toast, Vietnamese inspired salad with avocado, korean inspired skirt steak, spicy tuna on crispy rice. I am eyeing their lobster pasta! At brunch they had an egg scramble in a bowl with black beans. I forget the name but it was delicious, healthy and a good portion. Different from others which I love. Covid safe with tons of patio seating and ventilation. I hope they do well and stick around. It is a nice addition to Robertson!

Always fabulous. My favorite restaurant in all of Houston. She opened her first restaurant in the 1970’s on Sunset Blvd. Mom and I would have lunch there when I was in college. It was a small tea room - fancy for college for sure. She served spiced iced tea - it was delicious. Fast forward and Ouisie’s opened in River Oaks. Our boys were young and learned to order from the menu and pay the bill at the new spot. We are regulars. The food, atmosphere and great affordable wine list never disappoint. I’m planning a girl’s dinner tomorrow and Ouisie’s was our unanimous choice. Many memories have been created here. Just making the Open Table reservation for tomorrow made me smile. I am having the seafood crepes tomorrow!

Read this review. My friends and wanted to go eat a STK restaurant. I went online to find reservation details, and had to download the open table app. I created an account and found the restaurant via the app. After a while I was able to make a reservation at 7:30pm, and got my confirmation. When we got to the restaurant it was closed! (Another victim of the Covid crisis) This place hadn’t been open for months, but Open table was still taking reservations. While outside the restaurant, trying to figure out what had happened with the app, I noticed something strange. Somehow the app booked me a reservation in Mexico, at a restaurant with the same name! In Mexico!! I gave permission to the app to use my location, and we were nowhere near Mexico, but it made us reservation at a restaurant over 3000 miles away. Even if I had a F-15 fueled and ready to go, I couldn’t possibly make in time. The app totally failed, if you own a restaurant there are much more effective ways to do online reservations!

Disappointed Anniversary. We have been dining here since they moved from Canopy restaurant in town to Firefly on the beach. The food was ok. Our Wedge salad was lacking in bacon and tomatoes which use to be plentiful. Our main course was good. Several familiar items from before Hurricane Michael were not on the menu although the service is still excellent. We have dine here on several special occasions over the years and Canopy’s before that and were always treated with a dessert with our occasion written in chocolate on the dessert. Tonight was our 38th Anniversary. All We receive was a “ Happy Anniversary” from our waitress. I did not I feel like I had a fine dining experience tonight like I use to in years past. Very disappointed on our anniversary.

app does not redeem points. App is good for quickly and easily finding reservations but useless for redeeming points. Customers are directed to go to the open table website. Once that is done, after clicking the redeem button that is supposed to send an email with link to redeem, nothing happens. Points are just added back to the account. It has nothing to do with password or cookies. I tried a different fresh computer with the same results. I also spent over a half hour on the phone with a customer service rep who could not remedy the problem. Administration has created a system that has devalued points from when I first started using the app many years ago even if they could be redeemed. Can it be they owe more points to diners than they want to distribute? SCAM? FRAUD? Yelp and google search offer more options.

Get me a Reservation w/Ease!!!. This is the third time I’ve used OpenTable to get a reservation within the last month now that we’ve gotten through so-called the holiday season and gosh I don’t think I’m ever going to get a reservation another way. This has been fantastic; it’s easy it’s quick all verified by text and email and again blow and go is the bottom line we’re all wanting to save precious time whether professionally or personally time is so important and of course not having aggravation in the process so I have kudos to a great product and will highly recommend this to friends and family, as well as any colleague or client if the opportunity rises

What Customer Service. I recently had a restaurant owner mark my reservation as unclaimed - a no call no show. My account was then locked. I contacted CS and submitted my credit card receipt (as they requested) from the evening’s meal and I never heard from Open Table again. They never unlocked my account - which had several 1000 dining points - and stopped responding to my emails. While I’m complaining, I also don’t like that I have to go to a desk top computer to redeem my points rather than use the app. I suppose it does serve the purpose for which I suspect it was designed - discourage point redemption - I find it a cheap tactic for a company that tends to promote higher end dining.
