Highly annoying ads. I removed this app after one of the annoying ads woke my wife up. Every once in a while a loud annoying video commercial pops up over the game lasting 15 seconds. I removed it immediately and downloaded a much less intrusive app which works great

Good rendition but flawed execution. I downloaded this version of the game to my new iPhone to replace a favorite one that is no longer available. For the opening move it often uncovers only one tile and leaves no hint of where to start. Then at the end it gives a couple of tiles that require a guess for which one has the flag with no hint again. My old version never left the player guessing but always had a direction to move even if it was not obvious.

Restore purchase doesn’t work. I removed ads once and when I attempted to reinstall and restore purchase nothing happens and ads keep showing

Data mining - plain and simple. While the game is simple, the new age requirement proves this is not about entertainment but about mining data about the users. Why would anyone need to be over a certain age or risk getting locked out of the game? Because they can’t gather data about children and sell it for a profit? Shady stuff.

Tracking. I’ve had this on my iPad for a few years. According to the new Privacy info in iOS 14, this app is tracking its users. I can see collecting ANONYMOUS usage data to see how the app is being used, but I don’t see any reason why that needs to be tied to my identity, or why games should be trying to track people in the first place, so ... deleted. Which is too bad, it’s a cute little game, a good way to pass a few minutes when I’m sitting in a waiting room or whatever. If a future version is released which doesn’t tie any information to my identity, I’ll install it again.

Thoughts on minesweep. 1. Too many times do you have to make a guess (an either or guess move) to win a game after you have gone through all the moves to get to a win. Frustrating!!!! 2. It often takes too many times to be able to start a game successfully. I have gone maybe 15 minutes to be able to get to a good start of the game. This is very frustrating as you want to get playing and the bad starts go against your win percentage. 3. There are games which are impossible to win unless you make proper guesses. No matter how much you try to figure out a move to continue on, there is no proper move that can be made without a guess. An example of this is putting a bunch of mines together in a corner. 3. Your percentage of winning would go way up if you could eliminate 1, 2 and 3 above. I like the game when you can think through all the moves without the game deciding whether you win or lose.

Super Shady, Slow, Do Not Recommend. This app used to run smoothly, but ever since the update, the app has been pasting messages from my copy/past every couple of seconds. No way am I going to use this app after this. On a separate note, the app also got *super* slow after the update, to the point where it's unplayable. I average 95 seconds for the biggest board, and now it's too slow. There isn't even a point to using the app now because it's impossible to beat my lowest score with the added lag from the update. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this app in its current state. This review was written on Jan. 5, 2021

Second choice-better choice!. I downloaded another minesweeper app first and it had SO many ads that I had to look for a better app and this is what I got. It’s the same game. It’s just as easy to play. But it has a fraction of the ads!

Game lost screen. At first i didnt mind the ‘game lost’ screen. But if you do seriously play this game this unskippable game lost screen starts to get super *ucking annoying. Game lost scene takes 3 or almost 4 seconds and it adds up. Like a lot. I wouldn't start raging if i could just start new games instantly without waiting the “punishment time”. I can and tried to just download different minesweeper games but every other minesweeper has bad font and bad colors, its just supper uncomfortable for eyes, thats why im sticking to this one but still. This game lost scene makes me want to just *ucking smah my phone. I know i lost, why do i wait 4 punishment seconds? This isnt team fortress 2 or cs, but i still have to wait every time i loose. I love the font and colors but still, *UCK you to the developers. I dont have adds because i use mobile data and i just turn off internet access to this app specifically in the settings

Great way to pass the time. I downloaded this game because it reminded me of the old PC game from my childhood. Since I have an iPhone, I was glad to know that they had a version available in the iTunes Store. The app works without any issues, and it is a good time killer when you have some free time. Give it a shot for those slow days.

Major problems on iPhone 6 & 8 Plus. It seems ridiculous that I am able to make the squares twice as big on my iPhone 10 max than I can on my iPad mini 4. You’d think it would be the exact opposite. It makes playing the game on anything but a larger iPhone absolutely worthless. I love this game on my iPhone but have removed it from my iPad mini because the buttons are simply way to small to press accurately. The iPad mini should be the optimum sized device for this game as the larger iPads are too big and clumsy for this game. Currently, the larger iPhones are by far the best for playing this game but that would change if they incorporate the ability to make the squares larger on the iPads, especially the mini which would become the best machine for this game. Very disappointing game play on the iPad mini.

Sweet 'ol days!. This game reminds me so much of my dad and all the good funs we had together while he was teaching me how to play on his old desktop! It's only gotten better since then. I love it!

I hate the latest update. I've had this Minesweeper app for a very long time and have really loved it. The latest update added a pop-up "y game lost", which is super-annoying. Please take it away! Otherwise it's very good, plays smoothly, the new stat page is well thought out.

This mind sweeper is the best. If you know what mind sweeper is then this is the best. It’s add free with no disruption. It times you and at the end you get a surprise.

Unfortunate. This is totally unfortunate. I have to uninstall this app and find another one because the latest update requires internet connection and subscription to play the game. The app before this update was amazing. But not anymore now.

Eh. The ads wont stop and theres no actual music in game and you cant zoom out on bigger ones

Upgrade is corrupt. While playing the Intermediate level on iPhone and iPad, the game ‘blinks’ and squares near or adjacent to the one I am touching spontaneously change status. This occurs in more than half the games I have played since the new update and usually occurs multiple times in a game.

Luv the game but..... ...It can be annoying getting started. Blind luck on getting to a point where you can actually start. Many times it can take four to five tries which is needlessly frustrating.

Flag function changed. When in flag function, you used to be able to click on the square with the number to have all unmarked squares touching it go down, to help you count how many you had left. Now, it changes any flags you have labeled into question marks, and adds flags to all unmarked squares. Change the function back to the way it was, the new way is awful and inefficient.

Keep getting the same board over and over. This game was fine until a few days ago. I realized that I keep getting the same puzzle over and over again. Not every time, but eventually it comes back to that same one!

Is this a game of chance?. I got hooked on minesweeper over twenty years ago. The one bug then is still in the game today. Nobody has ever eliminated moves that are purely chance.

Reset stats button does not work. It doesn’t work Every time I go over the the “stats” tab and press “reset all stats”, it registers that I tapped it by changing the color of the text, but it actually doesn’t reset anything

New UI. This upgrade is kind of confusing. I love the game. There should have been some notification on first start after upgrade.

Buggy and unenjoyable. The games constantly freezing and making it impossible to keep playing, multiple times per game I can’t move the screen or click any buttons, but the game timer is still going on so that ruins my times. Also I’ve ran into times where the numbers and the bombs just don’t match up, it seems impossible. On top of that when you do set off a bomb you don’t even get a chance to see the solved game screen, it’s as if they are trying to hide their janky set up. Overall a super unpleasant app can’t wait to find a new one

Hi I just got home I forgot my mom. This game is pretty good, the amount of gray it has on the screen really tickles my pickle if you know what I mean. My only complaint is the fact that President Theodore Roosevelt would’ve not enjoyed it because it has WAY to much melon not enough water. The communist regime would enjoy it however because it has the numbers and the blocks and that really butters their toast.

Very buggy. This version of minesweeper has many bugs that cause me to lose even if I didn’t to anything wrong. It’s better to just download one of the countless of other minesweepers on the App Store.

Touchy Controls. While holding down for a flag sometimes it will instead register it as a selection and cause the game to think you are selecting a mine instead of laying a flag and thus failing the game. It’s happening so often that it’s difficult to play.

So cool but.... I’m 9 yrs old and this game is pretty fricken cool! cuz you get to change the mine number. All at life. But the only thing that bugs me is that I... well... I... um... aaaa!, whatever. The hell is even up with me!?!?! -Luke 4 Star

Numbers wrong. I know that aides and corners count. I just encountered a square that had 3 in it but was touching 4 mines would be 5 stars if they fixed that.

Totally old school fanatic so addicting. Great to know that this game exist. It is so addicting and exciting to play. Reminds me of my old school days. The app. Is easy and they provide easy choice and you can customize your blocks. Great work guys!!! Totally awesome..

Recent updates make game less playable. This used to offer simple, unobtrusive game play. Recent updates have made game play less enjoyable. First, they changed the flagging operation so that it would toggle all adjacent tiles. So, if your tap was a little off, you had to go back and reset a bunch of flags. Occasionally, it would erase tiles so that they appeared like cleared tiles. The latest updates adds a silly animation screen after each game. Then, after a tap, it pops up the settings panel which just gets in the way of starting a new game. Now, I am looking for a new minesweeper game whose authors know enough to focus on good game play without a compulsion to get all cutesy.

One star. You have ruined the app with 3.9.9.. Would give you zero stars if I could. I had a custom screen size, 11 buttons by 19, 40 mines, that exactly filled the screen so I didn’t have to use the distracting and time-killing sweep left right up down to see the field. You need small-medium-large button size option. You need to get rid of the infuriating nag to turn on notifications. ***** I DO NOT WANT NOTIFICATIONS FROM MY GAME APPS. ***** You have ruined the app. What were you thinking!??????????

Minesweeper App. Would like my game to be like it was before. If you win a game it takes the game page away so you can’t see how many seconds it took to finish the game. The whole point is to see how fast you can clear the field. My fav game but the new format makes it not fun to play it anymore

It’s ok but.... It doesn’t always give you a fair chance and can have your first tap be a bomb. Also, any mode past medium gets almost impossible for you to tap the right square

Great Game Play but Flawed. The gameplay is solid, you can zoom into and out of the puzzles, so far I’ve not had any problems with stats either! And for most of the puzzles I’ve not had problems, hence the 4 stars. There are only two outstanding issues with this game, the first is quite general: the beginning of a puzzle is a complete shot in the dark. Many have brought this up before, there isn’t enough information if, say, only one square is unveiled, to know where you can click, so you just have to be lucky for the next click. I’d say an easy way around this is to ensure that you can work through the whole puzzle opening from a corner, and ensuring there isn’t ever a mine in that corner. In this way we won’t lose games just because we didn’t click correctly, and this certainly won’t make the play easier considering how many untapped squares are left! The second issue is that sometimes the numbers are incorrect, I’ve had a case where I lost a puzzle bc I unveiled a square that was adjacent to a “1” square that already had a guaranteed mine next to it. Then when the mines were unveiled there were two around the square that said “1”! Had the square said “2” I obviously wouldn’t have so nonchalantly unveiled the other square! But thanks for creating the app, other than the above it’s great.

Awful Ad Management. Constantly popped up full screen ads between games and flashing ads on screen during games. The event that ended my use - a full screen blackjack ad that had no way to exit. I shut down the app & deleted it.

Poor running app. The upgrade is a disappointment, not an improvement, because: 1. The app often hangs up for 60 to 90 seconds, nothing can be done until the app reengages. 2. When you crash by hitting a mine, the closes instantly, so there’s no way to determine why you made an error.

Last update is terrible. I don’t know what improvements and bug fixes were supposedly included with the last update, but you really screwed up the app’s responsiveness. The touch sensitivity is all squirrelly and glitchy now, with the board moving all over the place at the slightest touch—I use it zoomed in because it’s hard to accurately tap squares on a big difficult board—which causes inadvertent taps to adjacent squares when trying to flag a mine square, and failure to clear squares when tapping. I don’t even want to play this game anymore because the screen is so wonky and aggravating. Hate it so much. Please fix this issue, or I’ll just go find a new minesweeper app from another developer. 😠

Bugs sometimes. Sometimes bugs and puts mines on places they can’t be accordibg to the numbers. Really annoying... Edit: im sorry to waste ur time I wast just starting the game and I think i just made a genuine mistake instead of a bug...

Addictive throwback. I searched for this classic in a moment of nostalgia, and tried a few versions. This one is the best. It is easier to see when a flag is thrown down behind your finger, and it is just more responsive overall. This little game is every bit as addictive as I remember. Good work, developers!

Plays like the original. Simple intuitive and just works well.

Used to be Better. This app used to be perfect. The visuals were better than the retro style of most minesweepers and it was super simple to open and play. Now the game is frequently asking you to purchase upgrades which I would be fine with on its own, but they added an unnecessary animation after ending the game that just wastes time. I would go back to this game if they removed that animation or at least gave on option to do so but as it stands, I’ll have to find another app.

So great.... ...to have this on my iPhone! Clean UI, easy to play, well worth $.99. So fun to get to play minesweeper again!

Stats don't work. I paid the $0.99 to remove ads, which it did, but the unlock button to remove ads is still present and functional. Also, the stats for the Difficult setting aren't tracking properly. It lists my first losing streak, and the first game I won. But it never kept track of the games played, which still says zero. I've won Difficult 4 times now, but it still only lists the first win, and original losing streak. I'm a stats guy, I like to keep track of these types of pointless things, so that's very frustrating for me. I've emailed the support team, but haven't heard back, which is also frustrating. I know you're busy, but at least an automated email acknowledging my issue and a time frame for response would be cool.

Love it!. I've always loved this game, it's such a classic & super throwback, once I got the hang of it, it became addictive..so if you enjoy a classic game to pass the time, is definitely install this one...it's been working perfectly fine for me since the install

Fun!. I almost love this more then the original game lol. Keeps me entertained during my breaks at work.

Long time player. Played Minesweeper then Minesweeper classic then classic 2 for many years.. upgrading for a buck or whatever it was years ago has been way worth it. I have played 15k games at the hardest level since classic. Only win about 2%. One add popped up. Irritated by that. But maybe there won’t be anymore. Love this Game. My Advanced level win rate is up to 4%. I continue to learn little secrets about this game, even after nearly 20 years of play. 2022 update. Still playing after all these years. Using custom level. Made largest board and slowly worked up to 170 mines. Could not win at 170 mines. Tried for 6 months. Many hundreds of games. Came very close a few times but could not win. Dropped to 169 mines and won a game after 15 losses. I don’t want to think how many millions of games I have played. The upshot to playing a difficult custom game is that the Hard level is relatively easy.

Fundamentally broken. This game is all about logic and precision, one wrong move and you are done for. This certain variation of the game however is very buggy and will often show incorrect numbers representing the bombs around them. Virtually unplayable and totally rage inducing.

Basic Minesweeper, Insane Price. A pretty basic clone of Minesweeper. Nothing special and a pretty poor implementation of larger fields. What really nukes this review is the fact that it’s $22.99 to remove ads… A ludicrous amount for a mobile app. The game works as expected though so there’s that, it’s a shame about the greedy side.

Scam!. This app is a total scam! After downloading the free version and playing it, pop-up adds suddenly surface... when you click the X to close it, it’s a complete trick and asks if you’re sure you want to PURCHASE the game for $20 - but it LOOKS like a closure confirmation box, and subsequently tricks you. BAD FORM and nasty of these developers. There’s absolutely nothing special about this version of minesweeper. Don’t be tricked. Tried to complain and get a refund but couldn’t get anywhere.

Errors. The re errors in the game that the number don’t always follow there own rules ie number 1 indicated but the there are 3 mines surrounding it.

Perfect!. Exactly like the old windows game. Multi levels and pay a small fee to get rid of ads. Well worth it

A Minefield. Really this is a good game but has a couple of annoying features. It occasionally will malfunction so you find a losing mine where one should not be if the indicators are correct. Also, whilst acknowledging that adverts are the price you pay for a “free” game theirs can be overly long and frequent. Don’t let this discourage you, however, as it’s lots of fun and a challenge to win.

Scammy. The app tries to trick you into making purchases by having pop-ups where it’s too easy to accidentally click yes.

Turn off your wifi. This game is a great game. I spend hours on it. However there is a major flaw. IT CHARGES 23AUD TO GET RID OF ADS. COMPLETE SCAM AND RIP OFF. But there is a very simple solution to the problem: just disconnect your phone from wifi. There is a button in your control centre to do so.

Removing ads way too expensive. $22 AUD for minesweeper? Not even a particularly polished version? It’s almost like they’re trying to make money from accidental purchases. The game is solid but it’s common to sit through five or six rounds of ads before you’re able to get a game going properly

It frecuently glitches. The game is as fun as the original, but the only problem is that the game glitches and exits for no reason very frequently. When I open the app again, all progress of the game is lost.

Good App, But Some Programming Shortfalls. Stable app, however there are some scenarios where the numbers don't add up. Needs further work to clean up.

I didn’t realise how much I missed this!. I used to spend hours playing Minesweeper as a kid. It’s great to be able to do it again!

With advertising comes bugs. The current version has lost its marbles. A point with two adjacent mines is resolved with only one adjacent. On completion of the entire board, two mines supposedly remain. No doubt these things are not hard to fix but it would be more attractive if having it work were more important than the advertising now flickering over the screen. It was formerly a trivial game worth nothing. Now it has "progressed" to worthless.

Perfect minesweeper!. Love it. It's just as it should be. It would be nice if I could turn off question marks, or if it would remember game level/custom choices. But those are minor.

Latest version has issues. The latest updated version has issues. Unable to fit to iPhone 7 screen and touch response is not good. I’m not enjoying after updates and looking for alternative

Simple. Fun, not overly complicated, keeps good statistics. Has an unfortunate tendency of completely erasing progress - sometimes even entire games - if the app restarts, but that’s pretty rare.

Bugs. Game starting to fail, multiple cells light up as bomb when clicking one cell, plus other bugs appearing

Glitchy and dumb game.. Sometimes the numbers can be totally incorrect and wrong. Once, I saw an isolated “one” all on it’s own even there were no bombs next to it. The squares next to the number had nothing.

Lying tiles.. I’ve come across a few games that have an extra bomb and some tiles saying they only have 1 mine next to them when they actually have 2 or more.

Undo function. I’m a paid subscriber because I enjoy minesweeper. I think there is two functionalities greatly needed: 1. Undo. After investing 15min clearing mines and then making a mistake like not having flag activated before tapping the mine tile or just a general mistake - it would be nice to “continue” or undo so you can continue instead of just showing try again from Scratch or new game. 2. Ability to view mistake. How can we learn and become better if it shows you tapped a mine for 1/2 a second and then shows the action screen. I’d like to be able to see the mistake I did so I can learn and get better. For example I tapped the space and it was a mine but I was certain it wasn’t when I tapped it. Id like to be able to see the pattern and the number and learn the mistake I made. For this I’ve removed a star. Would happily pay for undo/continue or see board credits as in-app purchase.

Doesn’t add up.. Sums are not always correct.

Meh. Game ends and a new screen pops up to start a game.. I find this more annoying then ads when trying to play on hard mode as you need to cycle through quickly until you’ve opened a board up enough to play especially on hard mode. Also a Forced zoom in when choosing blocks, I don’t need to zoom in at the beginning of a board every time. These two factors were the biggest downfall. Deleted app in < 3 minute

This game actually doesn't work. It its full of lies, and is not the real mine sweeper. Also while sometimes (late at night) the constant porn add are nice, they are not nice when I am near my wife, and young impressionable son. The ads don't stop. I click on the X and it just takes me to a website and steals my information. my card has been charged at least 300 dollars and i only put my info in once for a 10 dollar purchase. This game is awful!!!!

Not too bad, but not that great.... Sometimes there would be two mines next to a one tile. Also, it would be great to have the restart button more accessible.

Stealing my information. With iOS 14 out now, I see this app constantly copying information from my clipboard. I do not see how a minesweeper game needs to be doing that. I am deleting and giving 1 star review.

Not the real mine sweeper. Either this game is on crack or I never knew how to play mine sweeper, the accuracy of where the mines are next to a numbered square is off which seems to be consistent for so many other players.

Flag button. The flag button needs to be bigger I often just miss it and mess up a game by dying

Pornographic adds. I was playing the game when graphic hard core pornographic images started to appear on my screen. I believe they were coming from one of the many adds in the game. The game is rated 4+ so I picture this being a major problem for a lot of people.

Made me pay 12 dollars upon opening. It forced me to pay 12 dollars when I opened the app, only allowed me to play once before FORCING me to pay 12 bucks in this free app, I HATE this, this is a scam! Do not play! and if you do, DON’T PRESS THE X

Learning with Daniel. Really good game

Do not try to install this app, I was forced to buy it. It is a free game but it only worked for me for the first time, I could not exit then I was forced to click the X . I want my money back.

Miss click. I find it is really easily to accidentally hit a square instead of the button to change flags on and off. But it is otherwise a really well made game.

Flagging issue. There is something wrong with the flagging for this latest update.

Scarred. Mostly fine but I got a p*rn ad and now I’m scarred. I must have accidentally clicked cause suddenly full video view on things I shouldn’t have to see, the video then floats over another ad for a solid ten seconds before disappearing into oblivion.

Too many ads. Too many frequent 30s ads with a $20+ cost to stop them. No way.

Meh. Classic mine sweeper. Won’t remember my name for fastest time completion which will get to be annoying.

Lying Numbers. The game will give you false numbers around certain mines. At first I thought it was a glitch but it’s happened in every single game I’ve played. You can’t actually win a game

Too many ads. Waste of time. Too many ads. Ads show two at a time and make you wait too long to X out.

Not like the original. Remember that the original had a unique way of playing. If you clicked both mouse buttons, the left one held down, and the right one as well, the surrounding blocks that didn’t have bombs would reveal themselves automatically. You should add this function by allowing us to do so by double clicking on a one revealed tile.

I paid to remove ads. Still getting them!. Paid for the in app purchase to remove ads but am still getting them every few minutes. Probably should get my money back...

Classic is Right!. I love the fact it looks the exact same as it did when it first came out!

Dave Humphreys. The only thing I don’t like is that when I try to zoom out it makes me zoom in. It would be cool if the app kept my scores against global scores.

MINESWEEPER. Love it. Nice clean interface and able to adjust settings to my liking.

Good game, ads bypass silent mode. Fun to play, but several times playing in bed after my wife has gone to sleep (with silent mode on) a blaring casino ad comes up. It scares the crap out of me and wakes up my wife. I don’t know if that’s the developer or those who are putting the ads together, but it’s happening as a result of downloading this game. If it wasn’t for that, this would be at least a 4 star review.

Flags problem.. After the last update the flags are not working as they should

False bombs. Get rid of the false or invisible bombs, it ruins an otherwise good game.

Good but needs fixes and refinement. It does what it means to do and any fast player can probably get along with it. Having said that, I’m disappointed that the game defaults to a medium difficulty board but tracks my high score under difficult stats. I would like it to default to the difficult board but it won’t. Also, when randomly hunting for bombs I find that the game demands finger-accuracy. I would prefer trading accuracy for speed, say if I’m 80% closest to one cell and not the others. Also, the flag switch could be made faster. Finally, how about diagonal scroll?

Good, but a few horrible issues. This is a nice remake of classical minesweeper. A few months ago, pornography images used to pop up. It seems to have been fixed. Now, really bad R&B music blares during gameplay, even though I have my phone on silent mode. If the game can circumvent silent mode, I wonder what else it is doing behind the scenes. Uninstalled!

Nice but not built for iphone. It was Nice to play the original game. But once you try higher lvl. Then you have to drag the screen to be able to have access to all the mines. That is supper annoying and destroy the fun of trying to have a good time to resolve it. If they change that then I will change my score.

New update. I love this game, but the new update sucks: flagging issues and the adds for the Minesweeper 2 wont allow me to play the original game with no wifi. Pretty dumb.

Dont trust the numbers, or the game. Twice I almost finished the game for it to give me inaccurate numbers completely ruining the whole run. No getting deleted cant handle that mockery. Edit. Game is spyware too, got a apple notification thing saying payment failed. And I've seen many reviews saying this game steals your notes.

Unplayable. The game has repeatedly given me false numbers I will flag two beyond any doubt mine (a 1 in contact with only the flagged space) then hit the spaces around a two connecting both only to hit a 3rd mine around the 2

Porn Ads. Love this app - it’s a good version for free. HOWEVER porn videos frequently pop up and take over the screen while you’re playing, which is extremely unfortunate if you’re playing while on public transit..

Great. A simple game to pass time. Easy to learn but requires your attention to be successful. I’ve been playing for over twenty years; you always come back to it at some point. Tip: Imagine the mines are REAL! lol

Buggy mess. I have a few problems with this 1. I frequently get bugs that loose me the game through no fault of my own 2. Often there is no way to progress without a blind guess this can be 30+ minutes in on the bigger maps

Verify my birth date!?. A two year old can play this, no valid reason for that operation in order to even begin the game, kick rocks.

Bug wrong mine numbers. Lol just encountered a bug in the game. It displayed as 1 when there's actually two mines. So of course it triggered the other mine when I was playing it. I'd have thought the algorithms for these classic games would be flawless.
