I love this game!!!. Even though it's free now it was definitly worth $0.99!!! My fav game!!!! ***update: 7 years later and I still think this is an amazing game. *** update: 15+ years later and I STILL remember this game. I appreciate Donut Games so much for being one of few devs that just sell the game and don’t add in-game purchases or ads. I will continue to play until I can no longer use my hands!

Addicting till this very day!. I miss this game and it’s so addicting and good for motor skills!

Listen people.... The challenges are SUPPOSE to be challenging, that's why you won't beat every level first try and you won't get three stars always. But that's what makes it fun is you have to push yourself to get the right timing and just the right amount of touch to make your rat jump at the desired height. Arcade mode is also very fun too if you want a little more relaxing gameplay. Even the bonus game is exciting!! I like how when you barely get to the next rail you grind on it and have to quickly tap yourself to safety! Graphics are great!!! And the rat is just cuute ;p People. This is worth a buck. The only thing missing is integration with facebook and openfeint and maybe powerups would make it interesting. Like Mario-style powerups. Definitely a 5 star game after that.

Love it!. This was one of the first games I downloaded when I got my iPod. It is a strategic game that is challenging but not overly difficult. Arcade style and challenges plus a bonus game. Honestly, it doesn't get much better than that when it is already free. Donut games does a great job. Thanks for all the updates. :)

Great, but the icon???????. This game needs the collector's icon and when DG gives rat on the run the icon, they should add more levels to go along with the update for the icon (at least 10 levels). If you are still reading this please go play outside because it is good for you or even do anything else except play on your itouch/iPhone. P.S. DG make some more games free just for me.

Great idea but too frustrating!. Like a few of the Donut Games I've played, this is a well-designed game, but my problem with it is that it's too freaking hard. I do enjoy a challenge, but DG just likes to put too many in there. Ei. you can't stop or change directions, you can't jump too close to the edge, and sometimes the direction you pick isn't the one he goes in. There's a point at which the frustration of the challenge really kills the enjoyment of the game, and that comes rather quickly. Sure you get the hang of it eventually, but I think it doesn't give you enough opportunity to.

I LOVE this!!:). I LOVE this game sooo much! It's so addicting and so amazinglyy fun! I hope they make a Rat on the Run 2 with new challenges and arcade plays! And rat on the scooter is soo addicting and fun also! I'm getting kinda tired of playing the same levels over and over again though so I hope they update It and make new levels!! Great when u get the hang of it.. I had trouble when I first started the game, but then became quickly addicted. I played this two hours straight on a flight from milwaukee to phl. Graphics are great. I was a little upset to find that the arcade portion only had five rounds. I have beaten it a few times, would love to extend my gameplay for further addiction.

GREAT example of a well-made iPhone game.. One of the things I hate about a number of iPhone games is the way they implement an on-screen "joystick" for controlling their game. I generally find this awkward, and to me, such games that are basically hacking on methods of playing their games designed for more traditional input methods just fall flat. Rather than relying on virtualizing "legacy" controls, "Rat On The Run" is an excellent example of a game that recognizes that an iPhone game needs to be designed and tailored to the iPhone's interface, and gives us a rather engaging and challenging side-scroller type of game that doesn't require a clumsy virtual joystick stuffed permanently on-screen. While I'm tickled pink that the game is free "for now", I can say I would have readily paid money for it, and will if a sequel comes.

Favorite game on my iPod!. This game is my absolute favorite on my iPod. After I completed all the levels, I went back and tried to get 3 stars for every level. I PLAY THIS GAME FOR HOURS EVERYYY DAYYYY!!!!!! I love it and Im now addicted to the arcade play =). And it's weird because I got on here to ask fire more levels and the update was on my ipod! I'm soo happy, and this game doesn't have even the slightest con. Get it... For sureeee =D

Addictin. My family says that I'm addicted I absolutly love this rat buying this game was money well spent iv had this game for 2 weeks and I have already completed it! It is sooooo much fun! But I do wish you would add more levels it is soo much fun but I hate that there is nothing left to complete iv already finished all the levels including all the spots on the high scores list! 5 stars for fun and laughs !. I find a rat on a scooter ( he's wearing a helmet for safety,of course ) who is leaping from platform to platform in his quest for cheese doodles highly amusing and challenging in the way that Doodle Jump is- leaving me with the same desire to try once more to get this poor, hungry rat his fill of doodles. The challenge game is more difficult than I would have thought - in part, because he only stops when he reaches an infrequent stop sign. This is a great pick up and play game and will leave you entertained with out the brain tasking difficulty of other platform games like Toki Tori or Castle of Magic, it is just a fun and funny game that is relaxing and stress free. Good for a few laughs, and who doesn't need that, especially for $.99 ?

Don't understand the bad reviews:(. This game is not easy. That's the only reason I can think of that people are giving stupid reviews. This game is well put together, and the game play is a little different than any other games I've played, but it's an interesting twist. It does take a bit of concentration to conquer the levels. This game definitely should have a much better rating.

Beat this!!!. This is a great app....fav on ipod....but its way way to easy. I already hav three stars on every level...beat that!!!! And i didnt even hav to play it for that long!!! Add more harder levels. Also u should be able to customize ratty like giv him clothes and hats etc...maybe u could even choose weather its a boy or girl....anyways those r my ideas!!

Greatest iPhone game I've played. It's so deep, I've 3 star:ed every lvl in the game now, probably spent 50 hours on it total. It's easy to pick up and play but if you wanna get 3 stars on some lvls you have to time everything, it's just so much fun and so deep, if you want to take it to that lvl Release a sequel with 150 challenge mode levels for ten bucks and I'll buy it.

Excellent!. Great job in making a unique platformer! While the main games could use some modifications to give you more control over the rat, the rat on a scooter game is worth paying for itself! Possibly my favorite endless gameplay game next to doodle jump. Donut games graphics appeal to me, and this game is no exception. Great presentation as well.

Nostalgic game. I used to play this on my moms iPhone 4 when I was around 6 and loved it. Now that I’m 16 I finally found this game again and it’s just as fun! $1.99 well spent to relive my childhood

Pretty fun toilet game. I give this game a 4 out of 5 stars on my going number 2 game scale. Only reason i gave it a 4 instead of a 5 is bc I frustrated when I die (other words, it's a 5). Helps pass the time as i pass other things :). Not too bad of levels, I think I spend more time on this instead of doing what was meant to be doing on the porcelain. Donut games have always made fun and enjoyable games. Hope this review helps.

Not as great as "Cows" and "Spikey" but good nonetheless!. I was lucky enough to get this for free, but it is definitely worth $.99. This game might not appeal to the hardcore x-Box/PS3 gamer, but for the casual gamer (like me), this is a great little time-killer when you are on the train/bus, or even during commercials while watching a basketball game or something. Intuitive and easy to learn, yet challenging enough at the same time. Donut Games makes great iPhone / iPod touch games! Thanks for making it available for free! I will definitely go back to the app store to check on new releases!

Don't Go By The Reviews.... I usually give a certain amount of weight to the user reviews, but this time the crowd has it wrong. There are (at the time of this writing) way more one star reviews than anything else, but maybe those reviewers think a one star review is good? In any case, this is a slick little, yet very simple game. Smooth and fun graphics and a simple UI that makes this game very addictive. And come on, the game is FREE (at least is was when I wrote this). Granted there's not a lot going on, just walking and jumping, but the graphics are great and the sounds fit the game very well. So I really don't know what all those one star reviewers are saying, this game is better than lots of more expensive games and will keep you playing. Perfect when you have a few minutes to kill. Oh and maybe the developers could show us a picture of the girl who whispers the opening, "Donut Games?"

Innovative Level Design!!!. This is an awesome game, perfect for casual gamers who want to kill 5-10 minutes waiting for the bus, a doctor's appointment, or pretty much anything else with short waits. As mentioned in the title, this game has some extremely innovative level design, with levels that are challenging, but not impossible. I would recommend this game to any of my friends! Move over fruit ninja and angry birds! Your reigns of terror are over!!!

it's fun (just one thing needs to change). what more can I say. Get it now! on the scooter thing when you are close to the top it doesn't let you jump that high it stops you when you hit the top, but only when you are on a high platform. I kept a five star rating since that isn't really part of the game

5th grade's opinion. I think Rat on the Run is a very exciting game and it keeps me on my toes! But I think there should be like a ratty store where you can upgrade Ratty, that's his name right? Anyway the store would have like clothes and you can BUY secret levels which include like a boss's level and, you can earn with your scores, super powers for the secret levels! My whole class agrees that there should be a boss's level! Also the whole grade thinks there should be some kind of level up Ratty! I hope you'll agree with these suggestions. Well done Donut Games. This game is a five star to me because it is addictive, smart, well-designed, entertaining and a must-have. This game will be the one game that you will play for the rest of your life. The Rat on a scooter is also a reason to get this game. It is fun and a major plus. Great game!. Love the game, unlike other reviewers, I found this very easy to control! The trick is timing, if you get the timing down on each level, it's a breeze. My only hang up is the "Up, up and away" level, I can't beat it. I get 2024 points, I need 2025 to get all three stars. I've played it over and over until I'm pretty sure I've done it as efficiently as possible, it must be a glitch in the game. Anyone else have that issue? Otherwise, I love it! It's fun to play.

Not exactly Mario.... The idea of a rat eating cheese is quite ludicrous as mice are normally affiliated with cheese but oh well. Anyway the storyline is short simple and to the point; get as much cheese as you can so the rat does not die of starvation. However, it is the getting the cheese bit that is an incredibly enfuriating challenge when it does not have to be. The control system is botched in such a way where you no longer have control of the character unless he hits a stop sign, although an interesting idea, I do not think that it is really neccessary. There is no combat which is a shame. Even just a simple jump on top of the enemies head would be fine. The graphics are reasonable for a 2D platformer so I see no need in improving that. In conclusion, to improve your game for the benefit of all gamers who buy this when you start charging, you must improve the control system, giving better control of your character, perhaps by using gameboy style controls. Secondly perhaps add in a small amount of combat within the game. I.e. Jumping on top of the enemies head or even various weapons; the possibilities are endless. Played this one a lot in 2009 on my iPhone 2G.. Fun game, the first iPhone game I ever remembered buying. Just got to play it again for the first time in a decade after my first iPhone got stolen.

A Must Have. This game definetly deserves five stars and I would give it ten if I could! I can play this game for hours. When I first downloaded this app, I was expecting it to be really easy, but as I started playing it, I found out that it was pretty hard. The rat on a scooter mini game is so addicting! This is my favorite app by far. Anyone with an iTouch or iPhone HAS to get this. Even if you're still not sure, it's free so it won't hurt to try! I hope this review helped!

Would be better if..... This is a general comment on all of the Donut games. It would be very nice if all the levels weren't locked. Sometimes you get stuck on a level and since you can't move on the game essentially ends for you. I very much appreciate games where the levels are all open and if you get stuck you can move on and come back later.

Two problems with rat on a scooter. There are two problems with rat on a scooter. First, you can't jump higher than the top of the screen making some jumps impossible because you can't arc onto a high platform. And if you hold your finger down ratty does a kind of stupid hover in air / stick to the ceiling thing. Not cool. Second problem is very minor, one frame of the ratty animation has white jaggies on the left side. Noticeable if you look for it.

Amazing always. I just went to play it though and it keeps crashing. I've never had a problem with it before so I still give it five stars. Just hurry up with an update so I can play it again. Oh and u guys should get more levels for the challenge mode. I'm addicted I need more;)

you can listen to your own music!!. This is a really addictive game, and you CAN listen to your own music with it!!!! All you need are the earphones with the little device on the right cord and click pause then again when you want the music to start again!!!!!!!!!

Love it. This is fun - I got quite fond of Ratty quite quickly, and feel so sorry when I don't make him miss something painful. It's nice to have something that's fun and doesn't involve killing/fighting/shooting, etc. I'm not very good though, and it's a bit hard to work out what's required at times...

Rubbish. Donut Games apps are all pretty terrible, and all kinda feel like the same game after a few levels. Get it while it is free, and only if you don't have any other apps by this company. Rat on a scooter. You need to make the scooter game into a dedicated game... But with a couple of tweaks: gravity is set too high when you are up the top of the playing area meaning some jumps are impossible to make or frustratingly difficult. Double jump needs to work consistantly. Some of the longer jumps are just a touch too long in my opinion and finally although offering a challenge the random scooter speed is annoying and I think a slowly increasing acceleration or a boost button would be better. But I have to say i can't stop playing despite the niggles! :)

Rat on the run. It's really good. A bit like super mario bros except you can't get power ups and can't kill enemies.

Fun Addictive. This game is fun and addictive and FREE. Although it's not as good as some of the other donut games apps it's still great fun. The rat challenges are okay, I mainly like rat on a scooter in which my highscore is 32. Get it but don't expect an app that you'll never get bored of.

Fun game with a few quirks. I thought this game was a bit strange at first but found myself continually going back for more. Some of the levels are quite difficult to fully beat without exquisite timing, quite a challenge. The only real annoyance is a small performance bug where the game will (sometimes) go slow until you receive a push notification. I have no idea why this is. Still, it's a fun game and highly recommended!

Great game. This is a great game. I enjoy it but my four year old daughter loves it more. I hear her laughing as she plays it. She does a pretty good impression of Ratty too.

I am not the developer. All those people saying that the person who made this game are writing all the positive reviews are wrong. ON the contrary, The negative reviews are all written by people who are competition to this game. It is hard not to like this game, especially with it being free. I would pay $10 for this game.

AMAZING. This app should be six stars!!!! It's amazing all you have to do is guide him through the mazes I got it when it was free and cannot put it down I've gone through all twentyfive levels twice and hopefully some more!! Defiently get this all(;

if u think it's good.... You must have some terrible apps if u think this is good get doodle jump or even those papi jump apps they're pretty cool and so is potty racers even though they have weird names And I don't like this game but some people do: glow jump. They're also this geometry wars or something like that I am gonna get after I write this Ive seen it and it's SO KEWL and even girls like these games I know cause I'm no boy :P almost all jump games are good so look up jump and THEN you'll get a great game kthxbai

Great game, especially for free. I know some people have troubles with the controls, but I didn't find any major problems at all. Definitely worth being free, and I think they could have charged money for it. It's a cute and fun game, and everybody should get it.

Visually-amazing and addictive. My second-favorite of the Donut Games collection (behind Urban Ninja), this game has several play modes to devour your free time. Even when finishing a level, I inevitably want to retry immediately and go for a better score. I'd love to see an iPad-native version, as the iPhone-natural size is too small for my eyes.

Rat on the run is havin' fun!. This game is very addicting! My only down side is to get a little more levels... but other than that, its great! Rat on the run. I really liked this game but I think when u do the challenges it should give u more chances to try instead of just if u have more than 50 percent then u get hit again u die. But I will rate this game all 5 stars.

Great... Just one problem.. I can't really say anything bad about the game itself- it's fun, addicting, challenging..... The list of pluses could go on. My one gripe that keeps it from getting 5 stars is that you can't listen to your iPod music while playing! This goes for all of the Donut Games! Helllo! Give us an option!

really fun game. I past the whole level and I wish there were more! I have reset it 10 times it's so fun. Make another game of rat on the run. My friend told me about it and it's so addicting. I don't like the rat on a skateboard. I'm so bad at it. I hope u like it!

Awesome game!!!. This rat on the run game is amazing. I love it, except for they could have added a few more sections to play on and different rat on the run series, that would be cool too. I tell everyone of my friends to get this app and play it as long as they can it is very intertaining. Love it!!

Simply Rad. When I first downloaded this I didn't think too much of it. But after revisiting it, it has quickly become one of my favorite apps. I loved the new levels, please keep 'em coming!

All time game! :). I'm not gonna say "ya it's a great game", because it's better than that it's my all time favorite game! This is now the ONLY app I play any more! And I love that u can upgrade it for more levels and I'm waiting for more! P.S this has been such a great game I even got my dad hooked on it and he plays it at work:)

. Cute, addictive and fun. Reminds me of games from the late 90's. I wouldn't have tried if it wasn't free but it's entertaining enough to pay for with 3 different types of games-arcade,scooter and 15 level challenge (I am stuck at level 5 x's 2 days now).

Funny and addicting. I pwn at this game!!! I have 34 on the scooter, own the top 2 scores in arcade and have 3 stars on all the challenges. The reason I'm so good is because i play it so much because it's so awesome and addicting!!!! Buy this game!!!! It's free on holidays so get it then if u can bear the wait ( impossible ) Get it!!!!:)

Why rat on run is so addicting. Rat on run is addicting because you won't stop until you beat a level. Like what just happened to me. I kept on loseing a level and I got so mad and I wouldn't quit until I beat that level.

Dusty's comments. Is anyone sad for the mouse? The little squeek when it meets it's demise, sad. I'm also mad at the developers! I keep crashin' the darn scooter! I have always wanted a scooter and the one they created for the mouse is REALLY CUTE!! When it crashes, I feel a twinge of sickness. Either that says something about the developers latent hate for the scooter industry or for rats, we will never know...or do we already know? Hmmmmmm. Oh, I am thankful it was free.

Very nice game. To whoever is upset about the controls: if you were able to control the mouse it would be stupid easy the fact that you really can't makes it a fun challenge. On another note i love how they include rat on a scooter for it's price this is an awesome game and everyone should have it :)

Awesome. For a free game it's great. Controls are pretty basic which makes it easy to play but I guess that bothers some. Good graphics and decent sounds. I don't understand the complaints about this game. Worth trying while it's free.

Giselle. This game rocks but its not going to be a good buy if you give up easily its amazingily hard when you roll around the 7 level but thats just my opinion though very addicting also frustrating I've beat it about 30 times make new levels

I am in love with it. I would have everyone get it if I was the president. It is fun and addicting. It is alot of fun to try and beat all 30 levels. Once you beat them, then you can redo all of the levels. I think they should have a commercial for this app.

Amazing game. One of the best iPhone games I have played. I love the normal version of the game everyone seems to like the scooter one more but the real game is the best. The sounds in the game make the game even better. Only problem is the long long load when opening the app.

Yay!. I was on the prowl looking for free apps and got rat on the run. I really liked it, even though it was pretty simple it had three games in one and I still have it even after finishing the main levels and trying to improve my score. It is really a good deal, three great games FOR FREE!!

I had lots of fun. I'm actually really surprised on how so many people HATE on this game. The point of the game is not to beat the challenges but to get to highest score! If you're SMART you'll beat the highest scores! That's what makes this game challenging! If you liked this game check out ParaCuTie it's by donut games as well.

Great game!. I have to say for such a simple game this has to be one of the best games on the iPod touch!:) but I think they should have more updates and I also think they should make a second rat on the run!

I LOVE IT!. If I could give this more than five stars, I definatley would! This is better then Traffic Rush, better than Cows in Space, better than any app that donut games has ever published! It has exiting levels, and it also has a little sample of Rat On a Scooter. A favorite, indeed!

Unbeliveably entertaining. You have to try this one, it's chucked full of levels that are challenging and extra games. The overall design of the game is well done and the movement is fast. The background scenes are beliveable. It's a good game, and it's good enough that I'll look for other Donut Games. Great job.

Awesome stuff. You're definitely not wasting any money on it. If there was some different backgrounds or harder levels it would be better, but seriously, it's probably one of the best apps out there for the price

Neat control scheme. Most platformers give you complete freedom for walking, but just one kind of jump. This one is different: less control over walking (which is continuous) and more control over jumping (hold for height). It's a unique control scheme that works surpringly well--but feels very different from a conventional platformer.

Pretty good. It was fun. I'm glad it was free becuase it is really short. If they made it longer, like maybe 50 challenge levels, then it might be worth paying for. The bonus game is pretty fun. I don't know why, but when the rat falls off the platforms, it makes me laugh. Overall, a good short game. Not worth paying for though.

Awesomee!. This game is so addicting!! Time just flies by while playing it, its kind of scary to think about how much time i spend playing this game. But get IT!! You will never regret your decision to get it, I sure didn't.

Fun lil app. Not sure why so many neg reviews, it's a fun little app. Not incredibly challenging but not too easy on the higher levels either. Level play is short, so it's a great app for killing a little time. Five stars from a guy who rarely reviews apps.

BEST GAME EVER!!!. Donut games is the the best company for app games! Their work is genius, no crashing, great graphics, awesome games, I could go on all day. I have been looking for a good mario type game, but this is GREAT! Better than a psp. Plus RATS!!! I have a sweet little rat named tinkerbelle, and I love her! But rats are lactose intollerant, so don't give them cheese. They don't even like of anyway. :)

Wow!!!. This game is awsome, it has three games. One with 25 leavles one with 8 levels, and one that goes on forever! This is all fffffffrrrrrrrreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee which is awsome to get somthing so addicting and long for free. BEST APP EVER. This app looked fun in the pictures so I got it. I HATED it at first then I got use to it and I loved it and it can keep u playing for awhile but after u beat all the levels u can't do anything about it but I just reset them and play them again! :)

Got everything free. This is such a great game, but I don't think it should be money. Wait till a sale or something. I have been following donut games and they r awesome! They used to have all their games free and I got all the good ones. But u SHOULD get that lawn mowing one. It's soo fun

This is game is awesome it's really fun and pretty addicting, my favorite is rat on scooter it seems like not very interesting but once you start, stopping is only possible when your iPhone/iPad uncharged!!!!!! Really cool, even better on the iPad, it's a bigger screen awesome my face game on here so far!!!

what a great game. This game is one of my favorite apps. It was free and fun. The challenges are fun and last you a while and after that your score can only inprove on the rat on the scooter. Personally the arcade mode isn't that great but the rest of the game covers it up. all in all a great app.
