First trip to NY. This was one of the best apps that I've used so far and makes my Top 10 iPad apps list. Being a first time visitor to NY this app helped me to decide which sights to see, plot my trip on a map that's available offline and even see which metro to use to get to the sights. I'll be purchasing the other City2Go apps too as I visit these cities!

Great travel aid!. We have used Ulmon for several years now, from Patagonia to the North Atlantic and multiple North American places. We have found it very useful in particular in areas lacking Internet or cellular reception we needed good maps (ie.: Patagonia).

It's Just OK. This is a huge download, which prompted me to get it. I was curious about the content. Well, it's just a collection of Wikipedia material. Perhaps the nicest feature is the subway maps but there are other ways to get this, too. I've used my iPad in other cities without a program such as New York 2Go and survived. However, I have AAA membership and use a lot of their online content. And many cities have tourism web sites which offer PDF maps and guides which you can download and read on iBooks. So if this is the only travel information you'll access on your iPad for your next trip to the Big Apple, then it's a good start. It hits all the popular places and the info is extensive, assuming you trust Wikipedia. The user interface is pleasant and very easy to use.

Could be better. I purchased this app before a day trip to NYC. It has good basic info about the major sites to see, but oh what they could do with that "Nearby" feature. For example it would have been really nice to get a list of restaurants close by when looking for a place to eat. Nice app, but there's a lot more they could do with this concept.

Very Helpful App. Just used this app during my first visit to NYC, Loved the wiki entries about landmarks, and the offline subway and city maps. Well worth the 99 cents.

Personal Assistant. Simply put this app acts as a personal assistant for you. Reviews; locations; points of interest; things to do or see; and of course Street Topography. Don't remember if I paid for this app; but absolutely I wouldn't hesitate to do so!

Scam. Read the fine print.. This app is sneaky. You see something you want to do, buy tickets, then they say you will receive them within 48 hours. Which is far too late for the event you were going to go to. Then they will not issue a refund.

Ulmon NY. Great program for tourists to get around NYC. Used the map exclusively, jumped to the subway map to find how to get to a desired place. Used dropped pins of different colors to mark visited and unvisited sites.

Good, easy. It's got what you need with some background and history. Still cheaper than buying a map!

Best travel app😄. Helped planning our trip to NYC so much! I was able to see how far attractions were to our hotel & transportation & etc! I tried many others but this one had the right visuals with the map to mark planning our trip virtually that was flawless! Highly recommend this app!!!

Best offline maps app.. This app. Is a must have. Offline maps, GPS, articles, hundred of places to go. You can even pin point the maps to create your own trip. Excellent.

The BEST!. Love this app! Just came from London where we've been using this app. I was using my iPhone but w/o roaming. App was using GPS I guess since we've been able to use it as our guide saving a lot of time and not getting lost or going the opposite direction.

Great app. Always in use when I visit NYC , accurate informative and no data plan required .. Combined with the gps means I head off in the wrong direction very seldom now.

Very useful. I went last year with my wife, and I downloaded the app. It was our first time in NYC. We didn't have internet so what I did was when I had wifi at the hotel, i looked for the interesting places to visit and saved them. So when we were outside of the hotel we could got everywhere. Very useful.

Great App. Though there's a lot room for database improvement, this app is just great for pinning POIs and navigating them offline. We heavily rely on it every time we travel abroad.

Horrible restaurant coverage. The restaurants listed on the map are laughable. Maybe has .05% of the restaurants that there are. And I'm not saying it misses little places only. For example, 46th street between eight and ninth is called restaurant row. How many restaurants are listed in the app? Zero. No thanks. Based on the coverage of ny, a city I know, I would never trust this company's apps for somewhere else.

IDEAL. I live in New York City. This app work OFFLINE! I never use google map and apple map, because they need wi-fi connection inside subway car. Map's detail is same for this app! Ideal!!!

Good app, room to improve. One improvement would be more zoom support on the subway map, I want to zoom in more. Flicking on the map is kinda jerky, doesn't work as well as the google maps app with iOS. Only used app for a few hrs as of now.

Must have!. We recently made our first trip to NYC. Stayed on Staten Island, and visited Manhattan. We had our 4 young daughters along as well. You need easily accessible info if you have any hope of getting the most out of your visit. This app is a lifesaver for anyone’s first time visit, but it’ll be just as helpful and important on our next visit. Well done!

Easy to use. This app is very easy to use. I like how you can drop a pin on things and make a list of places you want to visit.

Fave "out of country" app. Ulmon has been great. We've used it in New York, Paris, Rome & Istanbul. I love that it can be used offline when we don't have access to wifi or data outside our home country. Until you've been without those 2 things, do you realize how key it is to have an app that doesn't require it.

Great app especially for a first time visitor. We would have never found a lot of what we wanted to see if not for this app. We were able to keep track of where we were and see how far away our next interest point was. It was super informative and so glad we found it before our visit so we could plan our route out. Great app!

Exceptional.. Don't need a wifi CONNECTION to know where you are. Only need to have wifi ON. GREAT. The only maps I use for traveling-- and I just got back from several Chinese cities where I used exclusively Ulmon maps.

Sketchy. Pretty sure these reviews are fake. App is operating through a browser and asks you to download a super huge file onto your phone...? Nah. Instant uninstall and wiped my phone's files clean just in case.

Best App for traveling !!. I used this app to pin places, restaurants, museums, etc it works EXCELLENT !!! I love this App.....I would like more if it has a subway directions integrated to it... we had to use another app for the subway.

Better off asking strangers for directions. More of a educational collection of tourist attractions with history lessons. I don't need that. I need a GPS based app to direct me to locations I choose. This thing couldn't even find my hotel with the complete address. Don't you think hotels would be part of the app database? Not impressed

Very Useful. I have used this app overseas and within the USA. I have been able to organize my site seeing to make the best use of my time. Never having to back track and insuring I don’t miss a thing. Whether sites, food, history, leasure, parks...its very useful. Love the availability for offline use and being able to save my sites. Definitely recommend!

Does not work......app does not load to run. I got this app to use going into the city. It attempts to open, then 3 seconds later closes and goes back to the icon on my itouch! Wish it would work for the money I paid. Anyone else have this problem?

NYC in your hands. Good, detailed reference/tourist guide to NYC. Particularly interesting to iPod Touch owners since all of the content is available offline. I'm still a fan of the location services (i.e. "nearby" category).

Very useful tool. I go to NYC, Washington D.C., and Boston frequently. I always have my Ulmon maps on my iPad. The best companion.

Surprised. Me and my family were visiting new york and we havent planned our itinerary so i started looking for an app which list places to visit and has built in offline maps. This app was all we need to navigate through new york as well as the train stations. Highly recommended.

This app was a great help. Visited NYC and used this map, especially the map and subway functions. Both were easy to use and were very helpful. Whilst the subway is easy to use it does help to know what line you are on and what stop you need to get out on. The map was helpful especially the search function which can zero in on the street that you are looking for. I used this with an ipod touch meaning I didn't need to have internet access. I got so much out of this app, such a big help.

Great app. Excellent, invaluable. Best available, as it can be used offline. The included Metro map makes planning transport around New York so easy. Tip: download to your iPhone and iPad, and take it everywhere.

Fantastic. Absolutely invaluable app to have when visiting NY. Being able to view a very detailed map of the city and subway system which is interactive with your phone GPS without being on line and also able to search an offline database of sites and attractions. Don't go to NY without it!

Would be a great app.... If it didn't close when you try to search for things! This only started occurring after the last update.

Extremely useful and functional. The map is easy to pin locations to and it is simple to move and rearrange your lists. Articles provide insight into locations you may not have considered and make it easy to pin all the places the article mentions. Very pleased and looking forward to using the offline function to maximize traveling.

Very useful. Great for city maps. Would be good if the MTA Subway map would overlay on your current position.

Forget Tom Tom. For visiting NY you cannot go past this app. We have been using it for 3 days. Gets you there. Gives you all the information you need.

Ulmon New York app. It is the best !!! For a person who loves New York it is fantastic to see where my next visit will take me ;-)

Great all in one. Offline is great as an international without data roaming, it has both street maps & subway maps , it has a great search facility which includes all the major attractions & many restaurants / bars & will show you which subways are closest to your choice

Would recommend. Handy especially underground if you haven't learnt the lines. Haven't had any crashes or the like and it's easy to save and find places. Sometimes things won't appear if you don't zoom in at a certain amount but a minor issue when you can search and restrict it to local.

Interesting but not great. Ok travel app, offline maps are really good, but lack needed landmarks (especially subway stations!). The sheer amount of information on points of interest are not bad, but it is lifted pretty much straight from wikipeadia. Good for a pre-departure overview, not sure how useful it will be during travel.

Great Travel App. This is a great app for travelling - I used it for a trip to NYC. I found it particularly handy to save tourist attractions I wanted to visit & be able to see the location on the map. The subway map was helpful too.

Can't wait to use this in New York. I wish I had this app when I was in New York City this past August. There is so much information here, albeit using material from Wikipedia, that I can't imagine the need to lug around a guidebook on my next visit to the Big Apple. Roll on 2014!

Ummmm. It was really good but it like really needs like restaurant listings and like hotel listings and venue listings for when you are looking for a place to hold a wedding if it had that stuff it'll be perfect

Cabs and sightseeing.. Really useful when bookmark the sights to see. No data required and you can keep a check on where your taxi is going.

NYC. Have just downloaded the app and love all the info included. Can't wIt to use it.

Easy mover. This is a great easy to use App. No more maps that you can't get re folded. No matter where you are this works. I can tell you it also helps cab drivers who don't know the address you want. I will not travel without one of these maps. Keep making them for more cities Guys.

No subway stations. Kinda ridiculous for a NYC map app to not have Subway stations on the map. Very disappointed and not useful at all.

Amazing app - the very best. After downloading nearly 40 apps for my trip to NYC - there was only one that I used everyday for the entire 2 weeks and it was this one. Not only did it give you a first class offline map but it also shows you which direction you're facing and which way you need to go to get to your destination. The only improvement that I would recommend is to have a metro station 'overlay' on the map that you could switch on and off rather than the separate metro map - as the symbols for bus and subways were very similar it was sometimes a bit difficult to work out the nearest subway. That would then replace the function 'show nearest subway' which only opened the subway may which isn't always that helpful. With some more key restaurant / bar additions (like Grays papaya / ess a bagel / eds lobster bar etc) it has the potential to be the only app required for the best trip to NYC.

Great Ap. Friendly user.

Saves time from getting lost. I use these apps for travel, and while getting lost is fun some times, the time is never plentiful enough to wander aimlessly for long. These apps let me know where I am and how to get to where I am going. Really well done.

So Helpful!. I was able to star every place in New York City and could easily find my way around the city (to star a place you just search up the name and it is on your map) This app is exactly what I was looking for!!

Haven't been to NYC yet.... Haven't been to NYC yet, but this app seems to provide pretty much all the info you will need for a trip to the big apple. The real test will be when I actually make the journey to NYC in the near future.

Ulmon New York guide. I love its simplicity. I also like that I can tag places and it remembers them! The new google map is way less functional. I will start using more Ulmon city guides, it's very good.

Great offline city and MTA maps. Really helped navigate our trip to NYC

Vacation planning made easier. NYC can be overwhelming enough... Here's an app to make planning, and navigating, easier. Very helpful to be able to map out areas of interest, and create multiple itineraries. I only wish the included MTA (subway) map was integrated into the app's map function instead of opening as a separate window. Solid app, though. Well done!

Fabulous guide. Just returned from NYC and used this app extensively on my iPad. It was fabulous. More than just a great map, it’s a terrific guide to sights. We were easily able to organize our sightseeing trips using just the map and guides in this application. As we left NYC, we used the subway guide to get from mid-town to Laguardia (BTW, way faster than a cab). Will use this again on our next visit to the Big Apple.

Easy to Use. Love this app. I put in all of my favorite places to visit and so when I’m in a certain area, I just reference the map and see all of my options.

Loved this App. Recently used this app for our first visit to New York and loved it. Very easy to use while walking the streets since it does not need wireless or Internet access. Only shortcoming is that it does not have enough info on the best places to eat or updated reviews for restaurants. Still would recommend strongly this application to anyone traveling to New York.

Amazing. I'm going to New York soon and I just got this app and decided to look around it to see if its any good. And yes, it was very good. You don't need wifi to view anything, and you can easily look for things in New York. For example, shopping centres or a subway map, and food. You can see all this without wifi! Truly amazing. I will be looking forward to using this app a lot when I go to New York.

Love this app! Great resource.. Can't wait to take my trip to NYC and use this. It's the perfect planner. I love seeing all the stops at a glance on the map and the articles are really insightful. Loving it.

I still needed a map. I was expecting some relation between the information on the Application and an easy way to locate the attraction, but it was not there. Is it too difficult to hyperlink the address so you can click on it at go directly to a map application? State what subway station is close by? Buses .. etc. The information is well presented, it makes you want to go there.. and then .. how do we go? I have an Iphone that does EVERYTHING but this application limits itself to the functions of a paper book.

Very informative and easy. I love the note feature so I can keep track of which day I'm supposed to be at which theatre. Love this app but could do without ads. I would pay for the app. The extra download of the articles is great - I discovered more great things to do in NYC.

waste of money. 1. It's a huge download. 2. I was in the city, typed an address into the search field and the app couldn't find it. 3. No "You are here" locator. All in all: useless.

Great trip planning. Found this app very helpful planning put daily activity in the city. I could mark places we wanted to see and go by color code. This made daily planning very easy!
