You're not getting everything you could out of music.

That's unfortunate, because you've always loved music. You have albums you've listened to a hundred times over, and you play or sing a little yourself. You might even have put in hours of practice to become quite good at your chosen instrument.

The trouble is that you're not able to do what you always wanted to do, which is •understand• music as easily as you breathe.

• You want to be able to improvise with other musicians, riffing off one another all night long, coming out with newer and more innovative sounds as every hour goes by.

• When a friend of yours is singing, you want to be able to join in harmony easily and effortlessly, adding another layer into the song without having to figure out each note.

• You've often had songs in your head that you badly want to bring out into the real world, but you can't figure out how to play them on your instrument.

• Other musicians occasionally listen intently and ask if you heard the subtle little change that the artist just made, just then. You nod, but you can't hear it. You don't know what you should be hearing.

Interval training is what opens the door to all of those experiences. And our app, RelativePitch, is the best way to learn interval training, boost your musical talents, and increase your confidence.

How does it work? RelativePitch includes

• Training Mode – 13 lessons guide you from beginner to expert, teaching you all the intervals in the octave.

• Testing Mode – Check your progress by trying to get the highest score in testing mode. If you distinguish intervals correctly, you'll unlock new levels and new challenges in training.

• Custom Mode – If you're having trouble with one specific piece of training, set up a custom training and testing session to target your problem

• Interval training to teach you to distinguish ascending, descending and harmonic intervals across two and a half octaves

• Simple interface, fun to use app, and all the interval training you'll ever need to have an ear that catches the subtle and crucial sounds for a perfect song.

• A wide choice of high quality instruments, including Piano, Guitar, French Horn, Clarinet, Violin, and Male and Female Singing Voices.

Interval training will transform the way you hear, play, and enjoy music – even if you don't know anything about music theory. Our app is easy and enjoyable to use, and our customers have great things to say about it:

“This app is the greatest. After four days of dedicated use I have seen major improvements in my skills as music student.”

“For years, I've wanted to play my sax 'by ear.' Working with RelativePitch is bringing me closer and closer to that goal.”

“You can really learn something with this app. It's like having a music instructor with you, patiently teaching you intervals.”

“Amazing! Best app in the market!”

You're just one step away from getting so much more out of the music you love.

Highly recommended. I've played music for many years and wanted to get serious about ear training. I spent some time with this app and also with one other one (the Karajan ear training) and I really love this app. The reasons I love this app are: with one touch you can config the ways the interval notes are played: ascending and descending intervals as well as playing the two notes together (or a mix of all three). Also you can force it to stay in one octave/key instead of jumping to different octaves/keys (great when you're getting started). And if you get an answer wrong it gives you the option to hear the right answer *and* your wrong answer so you can hear exactly what you got wrong. I find this *very* helpful. Also, the piano samples are very nice (they sound real unlike other programs that sound more like a bad midi keyboard). This and Karajan both have great features (Karajan also trains you on chords, scales, etc, not just intervals) and I can see moving to Karajan perhaps as I get more advanced. But for where I am now (and where I'll be for a while), this app is perfect.

This is a selfpaced training friend!. Wow! In a couple of sessions, I feel that I can tell intervals and harmonies so much better. For less than the price of ONE lesson, you get training and can test yourself to find any weak areas for deeper training. It helps me in the studio when producing and arranging music OR vocals, and I have recognized sharps and flats better. No theory or previous training needed. Great for those that play by sheet music or from the heart. A+++

Hurts Good. Used the app for about two days now. At first my feelings were hurt, but after a total of maybe two hours randomly spread over the last few days I've gotten much better. I've even gotten perfect scores on some tests. The app is simple and does do too much beyond what it promises which is great for folk really want to train their ears. Money well spent.

Battery drain?. Great app! Just curious if anyone else sees background activity draining their battery. I have :) and have to manual force quit the program so it doesn't sit in the background. Battery usage shows it at the top of the list

Useful and fun. I practice at red lights and on walks. It's really relaxing. I turned off the vibration as it only buzzes you when you get answers wrong, and that was becoming really irritating.

Really great. Note that if you are in the main training mode, you have to get perfect scores (20/20) on some simple forms of the exercises in order to unlock more challenging ones. The person who says in their review that the app lacked the descending intervals just hadn't played with it enough yet. You can also go straight to "custom" mode and test whatever you want from the get-go.

Very good exercise. Nice app. I have no regrets so far about upgrading from Lite to full version. My only issue is the total absence of "descending " intervals. I hope they get added later!

Best ear trainer app. I tried a bunch the last few days. I tried the free version of this one and then bought the full version the next day. I really like the custom feature, so that I can choose to work on a few chosen intervals at a time. Ear training has always been my weakness, but there were no programs like this back in the 80s. I'm going back to music school this fall. With this the help of this program for the rest of the summer, I'm sure that I'll be able to test out and not have to suffer through Ear Training I again.

Very Good. This app is very good. I have updated my ear a lot with this app. Thanks

Good Interval training. The testing and progression to harder things is a compelling format. Piano sounds pretty good and can get loud enough to be heard well. Other sounds are computer sounding but piano is all you need anyway here. Would love to see the format on scale and chord trainers. Little pricey but compared to competition is very well done.

Great app. Very helpful for learning at your own pace.

Simple but very effective. This is a very simple app but is very well designed and will really help you develop your musical ear, from scratch. It helps you learn things one step at a time, but forces you to master each stage in the process before ramping up the difficulty. I found this to be an ideal approach, it seems like the correct structure for ear training. Dig through the help and settings as there are many useful options in the app (eg mixing different instruments).

Has improved my sense of pitch. I have been using this app for awhile and find that, in conjunction with a musical instrument that I am learning, that the two combined have improved my sense of pitch recognition. This app gradually adds notes. Also, it offers several difficulty levels. For example, at first, the intervals start on one note ( which you can choose) then in higher levels they start on different random notes and on a level higher still you can pick ascending or descending intervals.

Good tool. I like this app. It does a great job introducing intervals and then in turn testing them. The only thing I wish it did differently was have an option to start each interval on different starting pitches. Also to do interval from top to bottom note not always from bottom to top. This upgrade would make it just about perfect for anyone to ear train successfully. I will recommend this app to any of my music major friends.

Great App! Helped Greatly!. This app was worth every penny. It helped me get through two years of music studies, which I don't think I could have done without. For learning intervals I have not found a better choice. Things I wish the developer would add are (1) more answer choices on the tests to make it harder and more realistic, and (2) back to back intervals like short 3-4 note melodies. Adding melodies, harmonic progressions, and rhythms would make this the ultimate ear training tool. Please consider adding more to this already awesome program!

Lil pricy, but does what it promises. Feature wise it's hard to justify the price, but it works and I can afford it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Excellent learning tool. This app has everything that I needed to gradually build my skills. It is fun to use and the excellent text explanations of the intervals and how they differ from each other help build confidence with my ear skills. It is also set up in such a way that is not only easy to use but fun as well . I found myself looking forward to the next challenge and this helped to want to learn more. It is a well designed learning tool.

Just what you need. This is a very useful app. It gives you randomized interval quizzing that can spell the interval upwards, downwards, or as a diad. Just what I had wanted. You can also focus on certain pairs of intervals you might have trouble discerning.

Great!. This is an awesome program. I tried it cheaper app and it just moved too quickly. My ear is fairly tone deaf, so I need something with training wheels on it! This moves as quickly or as slowly as a person acquires. My favorite part is the vocal body audio training where I can just let the training mode run and I get to hear the voice tell me the intervals which helps with memory association.

Alright, but not worth the money. This app is well designed, but is limited in its exercises. Your money will be better spent on the app "Ear Trainer". It is a better bargain and has far more exercises and options.

Great tool!. This app is very versatile and has helped my interval recognition significantly.

This one is pretty good. Ear Training is a skill that takes time and practice. Sing until your brain gets lazy and can identify the interval without you singing. I’ve had this app for several years keep coming back to it.

Excellent training. This app is very helpful at not only explaining intervals, but also generating random testing for good practice sessions.

Not so fast.... The lessons, so far, have been pleasantly difficult and I feel like I am actually getting better ear training because of it. I really like being able to include and intermingle multiple instruments in the training and testing as this dramatically raises the bar in my opinion. Great job!

Great at what it's for, could use some UX improvements. I love how well the exercises and contents are crafted, very useful. A little dated in the looks department and a few too many pop up notifications, but aside from that an excellent app.

Eartraining. I use all of this companies apps and they really are great. I have spent a lot of time on just about every music app I can find but this one gets straight to the point and does the job.

Works Great. App works great. Looking forward to using it more

Very helpful app for drilling and learning intervals. I highly recommend this app if you want to learn or practice ear training in the area of interval identification. The piano sound is pleasant. It's an easy way to take ear training practice with you rather than being tied to a computer. There are multiple difficulty levels for each lesson. You begin with ascending intervals and as you unlock a difficulty level, you add descending and harmonic intervals. I like how much control I have with this app and can focus on specific areas where I need extra help and practice. The training mode is also a nice feature. This is one cool tool to improve musicianship.

It works. The training voice is real and the inflections in the voice are random enough not to be boring. Training mode will play in the background. I liked it because it didn't require any interaction until you decide to test. Testing mode allows you to hear your mistake side by side to the correct answer. The lesson plan is well thought out. I liked that there was a free version so I could test it for a couple lessons. I'm so impressed I'm off to check out their other apps now!

A good start. This app has some things which I really liked. The progressive difficulty lessons, the practice mode, and the encouraging voice left me with no complaints. However, there are a few features that I would have liked to see for the $8.00 I payed for this app that I did not. I don’t have perfect pitch but do have good short term memory for pitches, so when I do the lesson for long enough I can remember what the notes sound like and then my ears don’t need to recognize the intervals but just what the notes are (I hope that makes sense), so I’d prefer if the app could have the option to randomize the tonic note so that it is not always a middle C. Also, I was expecting to receive training in compound intervals as well (intervals that are greater than an octave) and that was one of the main reasons that I actually downloaded this app. One smaller suggestion is to have a few more instrument options just to keep it more engaging (bonus if you can add an option to randomize the timbre for each interval that is played in a test or practice session). Just to reiterate, this app has a good model and some good starting features but if I had known it’s current limitations I would not have purchased it.

beautiful but crippled. An EXCELLENT, slick interface, with great usability. Only problem is that there is no way to lock the intervals to a key, which is the only way to relate training like this to FUNCTIONAL harmony, which is the only way to get any musical meaning out of training like this. I've know many, many people who have gone all crazy with this kind of interval identification, only to find it doesn't apply at all to any musical (harmonic) context. They can name any isolated interval on the spot and fast, buy they can't tear apart or reproduce a melody for their life. Sad. (Some people get by this, I've know a couple, but they were naturally very talented or "trained by feel" so deeply that they weren't affected by the disease of interval isolation. (Note that you CAN lock the intervals to a "root note," but that's very different from "key.") As I said, it's sad, because the design is lovely and is marvolously usable. But it's very overpriced for what it lacks. If had options for harmonic placement within keys (as "Do Re Mi" does with melody), it would become a killer. 'Til then, there are infinitely better ways to spend the time, energy and dollars. - KD Jones

In tune with my needs. I've long wanted to play my sax "by ear." I was very happy with the way the last verion of "RelativePitch" was helping me reach that goal, and version 1.4 is even better than the previous version. I like to either sing or play the notes before having the program announce the interval. With version 1.4, you can adjust the time between the notes in the interval, and also adjust the time between when the last note is played and the name of the interval is announced. The ability to adjust the timing makes it very easy to either sing along or play along with the notes. All-in-all, very good stuff.

Sets you up for Success. I had very low confidence in my abilities to learn to really hear notes and learn to do it well, this app starts you out in an easy mode creating a sense of success and confidence each step of the way. The links to additional steps to help you through rough patches are terrific. Can’t recommend this app highly enough.

I love this app!. I started out with the free "Lite" version and upgraded. It was well worth the money. The paid version adds many more levels of testing as well as the ability to change the root note. It's great to hear intervals all over the keyboard, ascending and descending as well as played together as a chord. That adds a lot of complexity and difficulty but it also seems to help me learn even faster. This is a great tool. I still wish the typeface on the info page was bigger.

meh. Kinda clunky interface--Insists on testing unison pitch which waters down the challenge/learning--Also caught it inaccurately marking a unison as an octave. Needs some polish that I doubt it'll ever get.

Too expensive. Not worth the cost

Worth it.. I hesitated at first on this app because it seemed a bit costly, but the skills that this app teaches would easily cost $40-$100 an hour if taught privately. You could take a college course but that's still a lot more time and money than this app. I think this is an outstanding value! I do agree with other reviewers that it would be good if it used other instruments besides the piano though, especially guitar. That's the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars. I would have given it 4 & 1/2 if that was an option. So far, I'm really, really pleased.

great, especially at sale price. I got this app at $4.99 which I believe to be an appropriate price for what's available. I like the difficulty levels within each interval test- they definitely help cement the knowledge. The developers did an excellent job creating a well organized, intuitive application. I think added features such as scale or mode identification would be pretty neat and I would definitely pay more if this were available. Overall this is an excellent app, I recommend it.

Elementary level only. Great app for those new to music and at the Elementary level. No worth the money if you are interested in gaining rapid pitch acuity in recognizing intervals. I use other apps that far outpace the educational benfits of this. And those apps were free.

Best $8 ever spent!. 50 plus years as a musician and I have always struggled with intervals I tried the free version and gladly purchased the paid one. Halfway through and I cannot put the app down. Get it if you are serious about improving your ears.

Great app. Well executed, even if the UI is a little outdated

Great for Intervalic Training. The custom option is great for getting into specific areas including descending intervals and intervalic chords. The training is a nice option as well.

Lack of Content. There is not enough information on this app for the unreasonable price of it. As for intervals, they only have intervals up to an octave and no further. As for the learning experience, it is a little inaccurate being that you only have one anchor pitch for every test. Rather then having different notes in every interval, one specific note is always the base note. This makes everything very easy as you have one “do” the whole time. I personally wish I saved my money for an app that can do much more.

Is this app this updated?. I think it would be helpful if the notes that were played were shown after a question. I try to follow along with my piano when I’m unsure of the interval that was played but when I’m playing an interval with the root different than the one in the audio the sounds are very different (I know that different pitches produce different sounds but I should still be able to distinguish the interval even on a different root).

Try to daily use it for 5 min twice a day. I just started today to really use this app so far I really like it get back LW in a month

Very beneficial. Didn’t know what I needed to help train my ear, but found this app and found it to be very helpful.

Excellent ear training. I find this an extremely good app for learning to both recognize and sing intervals. The custom feature is a big help. I can work with it for 10 minute chunks throughout the day.

Easy to just open and use. I tried a few other ear training apps. I had to spend too much time clicking around to figure out how the app works. I don't want to do that. I want to train my ear. Relative Pitch is well designed and I was able to dig in right away. On top of that, there's a lot of help available if you need. Great ladder system for teaching too. Very effective, at least for the way I learn.

Effective and Convenient. This is a very effective snd convenient way to learn to identify intervals by ear. I use it when I am on hold on the phone, during tv commercials, while I am unwinding before bed… I really like the progress I am making.

Music man. I find this app to be a great tool. I generally listen to the interval then sing it and make my selection . I am a music educator and I intend to incorporate this app into my lesson plans.

Travels well!. It's great to be able to practice your intervals wherever you go.

Ok. Good for me and my kids.

Pitch training. Great fun good feature the repeat function

Good aural gymnastics!. I'm teaching myself piano & find this app very helpful for attuning my ear. If done regularly, it's certainly a very good training aid.

Really annoying upsells for a paid app. Keeps asking to buy more apps from the publisher as popups. Also the uses modal dialogs too much.

Excellent. A great help in learning intervals. I love music but have a terrible ear this helps a bit

Excellent. I "play" this rather than games now on my iPhone. It's extremely rewarding and enjoyable. It would get 5 stars if the UI was a little less clunky but otherwise it's fantastic!

Keeps me coming back. Fun to play & learn musical intervals at the same time. Good work:)

Al. Wish I had this when I was doing high level music back in school. Some people find intervals really hard, and it's a great way to learn about music. Easy to use and fun to get a perfect score ! Gets harder as the levels go higher. Nice one !!!

Amazing interval recognition!. Great app from beginning to advanced musicians like myself. Fantastic for sharpening my ear on the go. Highly reccomended.

Great little app for on the go musicians. I really love this app! I'm a young semi pro drummer training to be an all round musician. This app has helped me in leaps and bounds. More so because you can practice anywhere anytime with some headphones or just use the in built speaker. I end up doing an hour solid spread out over each day when I'm taking a break or waiting around. My musician friends are surprised now at rehearsals when I say 'i think that's out of tune' or 'that was the wrong note' or 'try playing the melody like this', it's giving me more confidence and certainty when comping and feeling where I am in a piece of music. For $6 this is a great deal. The samples used are good quality, they're not the standard tacky midi presets found in some other ear training iPhone apps. It's intuitive and easy to use. I bought the melody training app by the same people too, also great. I hope they bring something out to cover chord progressions soon as well. Try the free version to get an idea of how it works.

Excellent interval Trainer. Definitely a worthwhile purchase. My grades at music school (University) have improved significantly and I can now sight read comfortably. 5/5!!

Great app. Well worth the money. Am already seeing the benefits of getting the ideas for new music thanks in part to this app.

Really good. I'm getting a lot out of this app. Thanks!

Must-have to help musical development :D. Fantastic and simple app to help train aural skills (or just intervals :3)

Good musical development. Nice app

Very nice. This is arguably the best app in it's class. In particular the sound quality and presentation of the app is very good. Highly recommended.

Easy To Use. First I thought '$10??!' But I guess for what you get out of it it's worth it. My ear is getting better and better. Hope you'll add more challenges to it in future. Thanks! :)

My favourite ear training app. Very simple and useful. I adore it. Interface is not the prettiest but it is intuitive.

Well worth buying. This app delivers exactly what it promises - interval training. It doesn't cover all areas of aural training, but it covers interval training extremely well. I just use custom mode to train on particular intervals or on all intervals. The best feature here is that it tests you on the whole range, with different tonic notes, played in unison or ascending or descending. Great app.

Fantastic. 1st year B.Music student. (40yo). Best war training app out there. Highly recommended !!!

Expected much more for the price. Very basic app

Octaves and unison. Everything works well except for some octave and unison tones when played harmonically, please fix.

Elt. Very well done app!!!

On the bus. I have been sitting on the bus making the most of my time thus morning practising intervals. As a music producer I highly recommend this app for ALL singers and musicians. I love nothing more than working with a vocalist that can sing in tune and that comes from both vocal practise as well as ear training.

Great app!. Simple, easy to use and effective.

Excellent. Great app for ear training!

Loveit!. Great for tuning up those intervals

Easy to use. Showed me quickly how much practice I need!

Great app. Very logical and musical app. Should help you top your ear training class!

Fantastic tool for sharpening the ear. This app is fantastic. A must for anyone starting out in music or looking to sharpen their musical ear

Brilliant Brilliant Brilliant!. This is super easy to use and an excellent tool for lear interval recognition.

Fantastic app. This is the best app purchase I have made so far. It is simple to use, versitile in the training mode, good quality sound and able to be tailored to the individual's needs. A couple of suggestions:I would like to be able to select sounds other than piano and guitar and would love a similar learning approach for chords. Thanks for a really good product.

Pitch Training - Easy And Fun To Use. I have no music knowledge but wanted to learn. This app has been a great help. The differences between notes are given in simple, easy to understand terms. It has made learning fun. I look forward to beating my old scores.

Good ear training. I've found this app easy to use and a good way to practice hearing intervals. I have recommended this app to some of my students.

Music student. Very useful & valuable!

Great app. Works well, great app for people learning music.

Very helpful!. Perfect tool for ear training, and being able to distinguish Intervals, highly recommend

Brilliant. The way that levels progress and the requirements to unlock each level are brilliant - incredibly well designed app.

For Beginners only. Good solid app. If you have had any ear training at all don't get this one. This one has intervals only, no chords or scales.

Essential for all musicians. Whatever your level, you can always improve on your relative pitch! This app makes it fun and portable.

Helping me get grounded in ear training!. I found this app very helpful for where I am in ear training!

Best interval training app, period.. The best!

Great training.... Great tool for ear training. End of the line.

Ear Trainer. Very simple and effective.

Awesome. This app is well worth the money. Great for beginners to experts. Any skill level is fine for this. Thanks!!

Great app. Starts easy but gets hard fast very good app

It works!. Really simple but effective app. In only a couple of months, my ears have become a lot more accurate. Beware though, this isn't a magic fix, you really have to put the time into it, but i guarantee you'll see, or rather, hear results!

Great learning tool!. I wish I could give this app 6 stars! I was beginning to think I was incapable of learning intervals. But like everything in musicianship, it takes practice, and this app makes it easy (and dare I say, fun). I turn it on while doing chores or walking, saving precious practice time at the piano. I found it good in the beginning to focus on one interval at a time, learning to sing them back aloud. A great learning tool that I highly recommend.

Great app. Very easy to use and you can get better really fast. It helped me take my guitar playing to another level. Thanks for a great app.

Tellement intelligent !!. Pour une fois qu'il y une application qui sert vraiment aux musiciens !

Nice. Better than other similar apps I tried. Good stuff.

Awesome - will teach you all your basic intervals. This app will teach you all your basic intervals, no question. More complex relative pitch, like chords and harmonies are not included. I also which you could change the speed at which intervals are played. Overall, very good.

Well worth the money. I've been putting off getting a strong hold on intervals until I found this app... You don't need a piano or an instructor! www dot themusicofsilentpanic dot com !!!

Awesome!. This app is so helpful. Stable, works exactly as advertised, and very effective. I would LOVE to see the developer produce an app for chords and cadences.

Couldn't. Give 0 stars. I expected more from this app buy cheaper ones there the same but for 1$ -3$

perfect!. nothing left to say here really

Great app!. I’ve been using this app for a few years now and I still love it as much as I did when I first discovered it. It has helped me a lot with music training throughout the years.

Fantastic!!!. It's a fantastic app it's great even when you're already a good musician. It's a good practice. Now I can practice in the bus or the subway. You should do an app with chords next. It would be awesome.

One of those perfect apps for a smartphone. I use this all the time, while waiting for sometihing, watching a game, while my wife lectures me. Finally opening up my ears after decades of playing the guitar (which is actually kind of embarassing).

Relative pitch EarTraining. Excellent

very nice. excellent! it got everything you need to learn intervals

Good Fun. Very good and fun. That's why it works!

Great for ear training. Great app. The last reviewer didn't know how to use the app. You are not limited to the same root note and it also gives options for ascending, descending and together. Just wanted to clarify that.

Great Ear Training App. The difficulty is nicely scaled for actually learning relative, instead of randomly guessing. My only complaint is that when selecting an answer there's no visual feedback (ie, answer becomes highlighted) and the app responds upon screen touch, not release (like the iPhone keyboard is). Intermediate users who are trying to work quickly through the early levels to unlock later ones will find the occasional finger slip quite frustrating as there's a perfect score is (rightly) needed to unlock some difficulty settings. Fix this, and you've got a five star app.

Good job. Does more than iexpected. Can't wait to see how far I can get. Thanks.

Awesome ear tool. I have a lot of trouble playing by ear and hearing clearly so this app gives me the ability to train my ear on a constant basis. Especially when at work or waiting around somewhere when I don't have guitar or keyboard on hand. I like not knowing what the roots are I can't think about it I am forced to only listen. Great tool.

Works great!. I recommend it.

Awesome app. Great

Great for learning. This app is great for someone who is just learning or a pro who is refreshing their skills.

Worst $8.79 I spent. If you have no ear training experience at all and have never listened to a single pitch in your life this is for you. All the training is based on the same root note so your ear just gets used to that same root note. They should be varying the intervals with different notes and testing you forwards and backwards. Very disappointing.

It works!. Awesome app! If you actually practice you will see results pretty quickly! I love it, I feel so musical now :D

Some bugs. This app gives really good practice, but there is an error where octave and unison sound exactly the same. Also, could be a little more engaging.

Very useful. Great app! Makes understanding of music fun! Many thanks to its creator(s)

Drummer. Lots of fun! My gf loved it. Get ahead on your musical knowledge

good app. very customizable. good progression of skills. for the money, it would be nice if the tool recognized things you did wrong ie identifying what ranges or intervals you screw up on, and focused on those ranges or intervals.

Great app. I've only been using this for a couple of days and I can already tell that my ear is getting better. :) it's great for riding home on the bus for an hour because I can just sit down, listen to the lessons and by the end of the ride have better understanding. This really helps!

Just what I really needed!. This is too good even for seasoned musicians to pass on. Like having another competent musician at your side who never grows tires of helping you learn the basics. I really love this, best app I ever bought For music.

Good little app. The app is an interval tester and, as such, does what it sets out to do. Although ear training is more than what is available here (rhythms, chords, cadences, scales, etc), the app is well designed and if the developer expands the material to include more musical skills, I'd wouldn't hesitate to buy them after seeing the build quality of this one.

Great App!. I love this app. It really challenges you and makes your ear much stronger. You really must unlock all of the difficulty levels. That way it challenges you again with either playing the intervals together or lower to higher or higher to lower. Well worth the price if you want to have Relative Pitch.

Excellent!. A great app that will surely improve your ability to hear every interval, through a thorough and well-thought step-by-step process. I also have used Triad Tutor from the same people and I highly recommend both!

Great app for musical pros & beginners!. Whether you are a pro looking to stay fresh or a beginner searching for some guidance, this application will serve its purpose. I highly recommend this app; however, I do suggest purchasing the full version for full effectiveness.

Finaly! Best app in this category.. I've spent few weeks in searching for an application like this. And now I'm finally satisfied: it has everything I need to train my intervals recognition skills. The only thing I'd like to see improved is UI, but that's minor issue in such great application :-) Recommend to everyone!

Not a toy!. This is one of the only apps I have ever purchased that really helped me in the real world. I passed a first semester ear training class college level. This app played a big part in it. Being a life time musician ear training is a must and this app really works. Of course you have to use it for it to work. I just wish it could do chords.

Excellent!. You really actually learn something with this app. It's like having a music instructor with you, patiently teaching you intervals. I'm new to learning music theory and I'm very excited about what this app is teaching me!

I was pleasantly surprised. I read the reviews of this app, saw the ratings, but was still hesitant to buy it because of the price. I focus mainly on alto sax, but know clarinet and guitar as well. I have been wanting to write out my favorite music, but it was tiresome and took a long time. This app really helped me to improve my musical abilities and is worth well over 20 dollars.

Awesome app. Easiest way to train your ear that I've come across. Challenging, rewarding, and fun. Great way to improve as a musician or just develop an understanding of pitch. Can't wait to finish this review and get back to ear training.

Really really really good app. It doesn't just test you, it trains you. As you progress it unlocks more intervals, and let's you train the intervals that you already learned at more difficult levels. If you use it everyday you'll hear the difference when you listen to music. Really good app.

The Best. This app. is the greatest. After four days of dedicated use I have seen major improvements in my skills as music student.

It works. Stick with it. Made it to level 10 scoring 20/20 on first difficulty level. I haven't used the app for more than a few days. It works much better than websites that teach the same ability. Based on the results so far

Best out there. This is by far the best ear training program ever made. It is even better than programs designed for computers that I've tried in the past. Please keep updating... Maybe a melodic dictaion mode or more than one sequential interval....different instrument timbers. Thanks, great app!

Good. Some little bugs, but works generally well. Very customizable. However, the many customizations you can make are a pain to sort out. Want to repeat a sound? It's that little repeat symbol at the bottom. Want to turn off 16th notes? Up top. Click it and it slightly dims. Want to turn off vibration? Go to the iPhone settings menus. Random. But like once you've got it figured out it's good.

Good app, but really overpriced. I've only used the app for a few days, and I've already gotten as much out of it as I can. If they add new lessons or more levels of difficulty in future versions, maybe the app will earn its current price. But as it stands, I'd say it's only worth it for those with a weak ear and/or no musical training whatsoever. Otherwise, you'll outgrow the app very quickly.

Excellent program, confusing interface. I'm really learning a lot about my strengths and weaknesses when it comes to ear training. Hopefully, I'm improving. Great program, great functionality, mediocre interface.

Fantastic app!. I've been avoiding learning my intervals since high school. This little app is changing that! High quality sounds, great interface, it's downright enjoyable! I don't know what the other interval training apps are like but after using this one for a couple days I don't even care!

Awesome et app. This is great. I'm a music grad working in the entertainment ind. And love this app. Rarely do I have time to keep up my ear training skills and this app is perfect for that. The samples sound great the lessons are slow and really hammer in the intervals before going on. 5 stars!

Excellent relative pitch trainer.. Best trainer by far for relative pitch. You can set the trainer to repeat the intervals you specify over and over. After just four days of using it in my car I can actually identify P5, P4, M3, and m3 intervals. I had pretty much given up on attaining relative pitch. It would be nice to see a perfect pitch trainer with the same functionality. Thank you so much for making this app.

My ear just gets better and better. I play bass and this app has trained my ear and made it easier for me to hear the different bass notes in songs.

Excellent App!. I've tried a few of these interval trainers and this one is by far the best. I like the option of following their lesson or easily customizing your own. It is portable, easy to use and an effective trainer...5 stars for sure!

Excellent app For Musical Ear Training!. This app has been really helpful training my ears to identify major, minor & octave intervals. Using the app has helped me strengthen my ability to play any song by ear which is my primary goal. It has a lot of test to help you master your weak areas, Overall it's a great app!

Worth a dollar. The app is definitely worth a dollar you spent. It helps you master all the intervals within an octave and has the best ability to customize your training.

Very nice to have, easy to use. This app basically plays notes at different intervals in the training mode and tests you on them in the testing mode. I play violin and piano so learning relative pitch is a must do. Great app but for all it does I think it should be brought Down in price to 5 bucks instead of 8. Then I will give it 5 stars.

Great, Fantastic, but there's a bug.... OK, nicely designed app, great for music dumbos like me... but there's a bug in test mode occurring with a periodicity of ~5-6 test notes that causes no notes to be played. So you have to guess that interval, and it becomes really hard to get a 20/20 score! I'm sure this will be fixed in the future, but for now, makes the app less than perfect.

It works !!. Even in my 60s, I now know the way to ear training when & where I can find a little time. I had given up on "hearing" it until my son-in-law, the film score composer showed me this and IT WORKS. Makes learning fun.

Love it, worth the money. This app rocks. However the buttons can be confusing. For instance, does the greyed out anchor mean it is enabled or disabled? Despite those minor issues, i think this app is well done and will really help you learn.

Very user friendly. Guides the user no matter what the current level and there is always something for everyone to learn and practice on.

Good idea and solid execution. The user experience is quite good. I would only make one suggestion. There is probably a better solution than a pop up when an incorrect answer is given to a test question. The HIG indicates they're not the best choice for this type of use and I agree.

Awesome!!!!!!. Good price. MUCH cheaper than any aural theory class.... Or a tutor if you already are paying for a class. It's easy to use and effective immediately. Of course we'd love all apps to be free but if you want to learn this and learn it quick, well worth the couple of bucks!!!

You Will Learn Intervals With This App. I was struggling with interval tests in my music theory class. After training and testing with this app., I know I will be doing much better now because I can really hear the differences between the intervals.

God's Bass. I find this program very helpful in training my ear to recognize the relative difference between notes which would allow me to know when to use the appropriate note, chord, appegio, or mode during a song. I would absolutely recommend this app as a training aid. Thanks PFinesse

Terrific App. Some interval tests seem impossible at first but with repetition you can overcome them with ease, but your skill will degrade if you aren't consistent so practice a little every day and never get frustrated - just hammer away at it and it will translate to your music playing

Excellent ET app. I wish I had this when I was in music school. Would like to see intervals going down. Also chord progressions. Still Great as it is. Could be even better. Keep up the good work.

I like it. I use it in my kids' ESL classes to link pitch discrmination with concept discrmination in semantic vagueness (such as "like" versus "want"). I'm also training my own ear since I've never played an instrument and I feel myself listening to music differently. It makes me want to learn piano.

Excellent trainer. Really awesome app. While the price made me worry, I found that it is completely worth it. The lessons are extremely helpful in identifying how the different intervals sound. It also has a training mode that I can leave on when I'm doing other things. If you're looking for great interval training, this is the app.

Every music student needs this. Ear training is my worst subject in college buts it's a need cause I play guitar and sing and piano it helps you traing the right intervals and it's worth the 6 bucks it beats sitting at a piano doing it yourself and you can train every note on the piano loooovvee it

Kapow!. This app is amazing. It includes all the basics like harmonic and melodic up/ down inteval recognition and you can pick which assortment of pitches you want to be tested on. But its the pleasant piano sounds , fun level unlock process, encouraging voice over and well paced lesson progression that really pushes it over the top. I went to music school and I make music for a living so I was looking for a well designed app that could sharpen my transcription and pen and paper composition skills. With each usage I can hear more personality revealed from each interval. My suggestions would be to introduce varying levels of actual melodic transcription using some combination of a keyboard and music staff. Great work!

Goos product. This is exactly what I was looking for to continue my musical education. It's been very challenging and I know it will be a great learning tool for me. I hope they continue to add new features/challenges and more detailed lessons. I'm looking foreword to more good things to come.

Decent. I would like to see some more features for the cost especially for the changes to have the notes be different instead of always the same

Great app !. Well designed, and a pleasure to use. I like best how the app used voice prompts to tell you the interval being played. This app could be better if they made the advanced mode more guided and saved your test scores to drill you more on the intervals you scored poorly on. I hope the developers make a chord trainer next!

EXCEPTIONAL!. Great for beginners-grade school kids! Loads of fun & very educational. Super for developing neural pathways! :) I wish it would actually "end" without playing another tone, & would be great if training gave concrete verbal, or visual examples-perhaps relating to a piano keyboard to explain key sequences on some of the more complex dynamics. Great program-well worth the $! I hope they release upgrade soon to address the two aforementioned issues, as these will be of benefit to a broad cross section of users. Enjoy!

I always thought of something like this... I even made a bunch of 5-second tracks of middle c and one other note, play them on shuffle on my iPod, and try to guess each note. But thanks to this app, I could train my ears in a more organized fashion AND in various octaves! Thanks for this great app!

Good but priced high. I imagine there will be a cheaper version of this from somebody else in the future as it not a terribly complex program and doesn't do that much. To make it more worth while I would introduce inversions and more theory in the text would be nice. Being able to recognize a p5 up is a lot different than recognizing a p4 down. Examples of the pitch changes from well known melodies can help demonstrate the principals also.

Buggy but good. Play options in custom mode don't work properly. Also, tempo speeds up erratically when you select to re-play an interval after an error. I like the program a great deal but the problem with the custom mode play options really hurts it's usefulness.

Best Ear Traing tool out there. I've looked. I have downloaded probably 60 ear training tools. This is by far my favorite. I have had it a couple months and I'm happy to say I have mastered my intervals. I'll play an interval on here then go to my instrument and find it! Thanks so much guys for proving I have an ear!! I also got the two other apps from this seller. They are money as well!!

Great app. I've struggled with ear training for thirty years. After a month of using this app most days I can identify intervals correctly 80% of the time. I'm sure in a few more months I'll be nearly perfect. Because it's a game, it's not as boring or as frustrating as traditional ear training.

OK, should be better. You dont learn intervals well just by passive listening, especially when hearing just once without repetition and then hearing another interval group with different notes (again only once), as is the case for instance involving the major 3rds with the minor 3rds. The "anchor on" option is absurdly easy and close to useless. These intervals should be repeated and slower so you can sing to them- thats how you learn intervals. If this were designed to actively practice with vocalising, including range options, then this would get 5 stars.
