Great game one flaw. Great thinking logic game. Love it. Easy, yet challenging. My ONLY DISLIKE, is when you finish a game, a window pops up saying YOU WIN , with a smaller window to click on the words, NEW GAME. This window covers 3/4 of your completed game so you cant see your completed won game. PLEASE update and let us see our winning game screen...THEN I'd GIVE 5 stars.

Great until it wasn't. Ran great for many years, it's now suffering from being 3 iOS versions behind. Now I'm having sensitivity problems with my finger and especially with my apple pen, sudden crashes. It would be nice to have the square size fitted better to the screen.

Ads, really?. I paid for this game and you’re serving me ads? Motherf$&@s!!! You already screwed the game up and haven’t fixed the problems and now you’re serving ads. What a horrible group of people. Edit September 2020: Why is this app collecting info from the clipboard?

Faithful reproduction, but with a fatal flaw. This a faithful reproduction of the old Minesweeper that I used to play on early versions of Windows and, in terms of game play, works well. However, there is one problem with the game - the “Flag” button uses two shades of grey that are almost indistinguishable unless the light is right, and you are holding the device at the right angle - it is far too easy to blow up a game inadvertently by thinking you have tapped on the “Flag” button and not noticing that actually you didn’t. Why not two easily distinguishable colours, instead of two shades of grey. This loses the game two stars for me. And....ads, in a paid game? Really?

What fun!. Really takes me back. :-)

Annoying ads on a paid app. I bought this “pro” version because I hated the ads on the free versions, but this app has a pop up when you open it, as well as banner ads between games.

Repeating games. Why am I getting the same game over and over??

Steals your passwords. Every time you open the app it copies any pictures or text you have in your clipboard.

Needs a bigger Flag button!!. Everything is perfect except that the game needs a bigger flag button.

Awful. Game has clear errors. I have screen images where puzzle indicates certain # of mines but the displayed number does not match. In one game, shows a #2 square but only 1 mine was revealed. Other game showed 2 remaining mines but all numbered squares had matching mines. Purposely clicked on known mine to reveal if I made an error, but no other mines displayed except the one I selected. Not worth any $$ unless you are looking for a game of total randomness instead of logic.

Good app, but doesn’t keep score. I miss having my best times saved displayed and it jumping out and telling me I had a new best time. Why get rid of that?

Fun game. This is fun game to play when you are waiting for kids, or just to keep your mind sharp.

Fix the stats. Love the game but would love to see the stats data fixed. I play hard games and like to keep track of my stats. The hard games register as medium games. Everything else is great

Needs a Better “Flag” button on the top left corner. I lose a lot of games because I think I’ve hit the “flag” button, but it doesn’t register. The button should turn RED when a player chooses to flag a square/squares, and should turn black when the flag is removed.

Reads the clipboard. Why does this app read the clipboard? When I open it after copying a safari url a “MinesweeperClassic pasted from safari” message appears.

Almost perfect. I’ve had this App on my devices for years and I always come back to it. IMO, it’s the best minesweeper for iOS because it’s so down to earth and - in the best sense - simple. I will amend my review to five stars as soon as the developers manage to fix that pesky bug that sometimes delays the posting of a flag, especially and mostly on the right side of the largest playing field.

Solid. Great iteration of this classic game. Will change to 5 stars if they get a dark mode 🤞😬

Classic. Simple and entertaining brain exercise The only game that I play throughout many years.

Brain Candy (for those w/small to med sized brains). Easy to learn and for some to master. Inexpensive, low tech game. I love Minesweeper! When I need a little stress breaker, I play Minesweeper. When I need to cool down,I play Minesweeper. When I feel I just need to exercise my brain, I play Minesweeper. Competing with myself, I try to break my time record every time I play. Oh heck, I just like playing Minesweeper. Hope you will, too.

Adds in pro version. Opened the pro version of the MinesweeperClassic application and was surprised to be confronted with an add for something to do with snowboarding. This was a full screen add. I thought that the pro version would never have adds and was extremely disappointed by this!

Great gameplay, but…. The gameplay in this version is the best out of all the versions I’ve tried in the App Store. However, ever since the iOS 14 update, I’ve discovered that the app reads whatever I have copied into the clipboard. Why does a classic game need to snoop on what I copy/paste? Also, I had to disable background app refresh for this game. Why does a classic, single-player game need to access the network? It doesn’t even support syncing high scores with iCloud, so it should never need access to the network or the contents of the system clipboard. I would give this game more stars if Maple Media was transparent about why they are collecting user data that this game doesn’t even need.

Needs a restart button. Fun game. Works really well, but it really needs a restart button for when you accidentally hit something with your hand. So frustrating to have to start a completely new game.

MinesweeperClassic. Game does not remember scores very well and claims 0 games played after playing often. Also starts out in beginner version rather than the settings that were last used.

A classic.... I have been playing MinesweeperClassic forever. This game is and always will be a classic game. Some things don’t need to be changed!

Fun & good functionality but loses spot. When I'm in the middle of a game and switch to a different app on my iPhone, unless I come back to the game within the hour or so, the game always blows up as soon as I get back to the game window. It can't seem to remember my spot even though I left the app open. Irritating.

Still not as good as a year ago. It’s been nearly a year since this game was handed to a new developer and ruined. Appreciate that the developer has been responsive to feedback, but still in all that time, hasn’t been able to fix the basics— -new stats page still doesn’t work. Expert games play are counted in intermediate but expert games won are counted in expert -average time does not calculate correctly (currently looks like an average of my top three scores since the update) -flag button in the top right is still too hard to press -border around game often shows up incorrectly (have to open settings or switch to landscape to fix) -ads still occasionally appear on startup and are present in settings page ~~ Added ads to a PAID AD-FREE game. Still surprises me how this developer can find another way to ruin a classic PS Landscape mode doesn’t work now; as far as I can tell the update did not improve anything but added ads and removed functionality. Unbelievable and yet believable

Ads in the Paid Version???. Gameplay is great but I’m pretty pi$$ed I paid for no ads and got an ad today. I don’t care if y’all came out with a new app. I paid for no ads!

Clipboard sniffing, really?. Loved this app, played it for years. Sure, some bugs when it came to high score but the trade off was worth it. But iOS 14 lets you know when an app accesses your clipboard. This app does on launch every time. Why? What if I had a password in there? Uninstalling as a result, which is a shame.

Love this Game. Would be nice if there were a "help" page in the app for how to play the game. I had to go out and search the internet.

Disappointed. Really disappointed in the “flag” button. When you’re trying to go fast, I frequently end up not activating the flag button and inadvertently blowing up. Very frustrating. Has to be a better interface. Game was much better with a mouse!

Bring back landscape. Please bring back the ability to rotate my screen and play in landscape. I find it uncomfortable to play the game now. The ability was fixed and then is stopped working again.

Great classic game except the lag.. Love the game! I used to play it so much back when computers had floppy disk drives! Only thing is that it should be played in landscape and it also lags a bit which can get really frustrating. Otherwise, a great app!

Good, but please add landscape!. Game is true to original and very stable. Is what they say it is, I play it all the time and it is one of my most played games. I would rate 4 stars if landscape mode was available. Especially for expert mode! This is basic function of an iPhone, not good enough to have left it out of the app! I would rate this 5 stars if there was an improvement to the touch accuracy. It is frustrating to lose the game when you mean to tap one square only to have the app decide that you touched a different one...

Great but..... I’ve played this app for a while now and absolutely loved it but this update has disabled landscape mode which makes playing on difficult mode very, I mean very frustrating.... it also doesn’t trade my completions of the difficult level which is just annoying because I’ve completed it at least 5 times.

Worth every penny. You may have read the past comments and thought "oh no, there's bugs." As of this version, I'm playing on a iPad Pro, The author has fixed all those pesky bugs bringing you this classic game for your enjoyment. It's almost like I booted up windows. It's great!

Boxes are too small for big fingers. I would have given this app five stars if there was a way to make the boxes larger. It is very difficult to just hit one of the very small boxes, which then causes an error.

Love this game!. I play this regularly! It is very addictive! When I play this and win I think "that is it and I will not play again" and there I am a few days later I am playing again!

Where is the landscape?. So far the changes look good, but there is one problem. I /need/ landscape rotation. < that is the only thing I don't like about this version.

Needs colours back. While new update nice for minesweeper pro, losing different colours for each number is a huge step back.

Problems with last update. Everything worked perfectly until the last update. Now there is a noticeably slow response when you hit a mine. Just enough to irritate you everytime you play.

It turns off flags on it's own. Easy works good but other levels will select when you flag and you lose

Landscape Mode Needed. Please. Other than that it's what you expect.

No rotation!. I keep hoping that game scale will not be limited; it would be nice to be able to make a small or medium game fill the screen on an iPad. Now with the latest update, game rotation has been disabled. It is a simple game, I see no reason to limit scale and rotation.

No colours. There seems to be a bug with this new update as the colours for each number are gone. Basically unplayable for me now.

Still a great game, but.... ...but I’m still seeing issues with stats and high scores either not completely resetting and some killer fast completions not getting updated into the fast times.

Close to the Original. This game is great; as close as you can get to playing on a windows machine. Just please give us the option to turn off question marks! It might be neat to be able to compare your high scores against all other owners of the app too.

THE Minesweeper app for any Minesweeper fan. Trust me, you won't be getting a better Minesweeper experience on any other app than this one right here. Minesweeper does not need fancy graphics and special features. It's a simple game, and this is a simple app: it plays Minesweeper. This app looks just like the Minesweeper on the PC, and plays just like it.

Annoying popups. Keeps bugging me for a review after every match. Well, here it is.

Why mess with perfection?. This app was a PERFECT replication of my old school minesweeper, and I loved it for that. But this new update has changed the lovable UI, made the game run slower, added annoying pop-up to mock you for losing, AND erased my High Scores that I've had for years! Boo on you for ruining the great app!

Very good. Needs landscape mode, especially for expert level. Other than that, perfect game. I have always loved this game and the fact that I can play it anytime, anywhere is so amazing!!

New Developer listened and fixed the bugs. Props to dev for getting a fixed version out so quick. My major complaints with this refreshed version have been addressed, I can actually play the game again without being frustrated by the UI. I still feel the older version was better before maple media took over, this one still feels a little bit sluggish comparatively. But it's playable again.

Nearly perfect. Undoubtedly the best minesweeper app on iTunes. My only suggestions are: 3BV calculator, an option to remove the '?', and maybe an online community to upload scores to. Definitely a must-buy.

Problem with quick setting Flags. Touching and holding a square often does absolutely nothing (instead of placing a flag there as it's supposed to). Sometimes it works, very often it doesn't. And when it doesn't work it thinks you want to select a mine and costs you the game. For a number of reasons I like this variation better than the competition Minesweeper Free/Gold, but the Free/Gold app does a MUCH better job of placing flags -- it feels solid, secure, and no accidental selection of mines when you intended to just put a flag there. Hopefully Minesweeper Classic will study the other app and fix the problem here for otherwise this is a GREAT game. P.S. Yes, I know, you can turn flags on. But that's an extra step. And then you have to remember to turn flags off. And next time remember to turn flags back on, etc. etc. etc.

Good but not cigar. I am glad you guys are updating the app. But you remove the best feature! Before when you won and game with the best time it was asking for you name. That made it so much fun to compete with other and I played for hours sometimes to just beat some ones name in my phone! Just like old arcade games. Also, can fix zoom it's not uniform and keeps resetting after every game.

Makes my iPhone feel like home. The controls on this game work great. The game is exactly as I remember it on the computer. However, some of the puzzles have had noticeable mistakes. For example, the marker will say that there is two mines nearby, but I get blown up because there was actually three instead. But, there are so many board combinations in Minesweeper that I'm willing to easily overlook this. However, this and the lack of a landscape mode for expert keeps it from 5 stars.

Can't beat the original!. I love this app because it's pretty much exactly the same as the computer version of Minesweeper--it just works, and the developer didn't add the unnecessary (and only semi-functional) frills that lots of other Minesweeper apps have.

Best App Ever. Seriously, I've downloaded probably over 100 different apps over the years, but this my favorite. Simple, plain, and fun just like the old Windows version. I'm addicted to this game, and I play it multiple times a day on expert.

Great game until your last update. The Flag button no longer works making it impossible to play. Deleting and getting a different version.

The counts are off around the bombs.. Ok, the kewl thing about the iphone is that you can snap a picture of the screen. I have a run of 10 games in a row, showing the placement of ones to be off around bombs. I was wondering if anyone else was experiencing this problem or is there a problem with the program, I have downloaded. I love this game, the original was more accurate with thought. But, the entire effort is one of luck first and deduction. I am rather frustrated, is there something wrong with the program? And, if you want pictures where and how do I send them to you!!!

What happened?!?. Update: It's cool, everyone. Don't worry, the colors are back. Carry on! What happened to all the different colors of the numbers? I used to be able to quickly recognize each number by what color it was, and now it takes a little longer to distinguish between them.

Needs work. This game is a game that needs to be played fast and if I have to play it on my ipone which dosent allow me to play as quick as I can on my computer, that fine because I'll just compare scores with ipone scores, but whatever can be done to make playing faster should be done. The landscape suggestion is an obvious one, another could be a botton you could keep pressed to make any choice on the playing feild be like a double click on mouse. Also it's real anoying when you pan to the edge of the feild and the feild moves so that just the edge matched the edge of the screen, every time that happens you loose a second, and you have to figure out where you are again, and it's frustrating to work on the edge of the screen. Great game otherwise.

Favorite iPhone app. This Minesweeper was made exactly how anyone could hope! I've had this game for years now, it wasn't updated for a very long time but it just was and now it's perfect again.

Love it!. I love this game!! Soo addicting! And guys-there is a flag button on the top right of the screen. Push it, and instead of clearing a space, you put down flags with just a touch (instead of touch and hold). Once I start my game, I change to flag mode and I'm off!!

Used to be a great game!. Miss the fastest time for each difficulty level, why did it change to an average time? Used to like trying to beat my fastest time, but will be deleting game after finishing this review.

One of my all time favorite games ever!!!. This is the classic original minesweeper that we all used to play on windows, now on the iPhone/iPod Touch. Everything works good save for one glitch and one request. First the request: landscape mode PLEASE!!! Now onto the glitch and why I give this app only 4 stars. When I scroll to the top of the mine field and tap on a square to clear it, the screen will jolt down blocking the view from the top row. This only happens along the top of the mine field and it happens quite frequently if the the screen isn't "settled". But in minesweeper we're all interested in fastest times. So please developer(s) fix this issue and landscape mode. Other than that, this game is the bomb.

Good bit a little buggy. Plays a little better than the old version. It can sometimes be tough to switch tap modes without very carefully positioning my finger. The big problem is a bug with the stats. The game keeps overwriting my high score with a worse time, and some other per-difficulty-level stats seem to actually be tallied across all levels, not per-level. I wish I could take a screen shot after a victory without the "new game" dialog box blocking most of the tiles.

Terrible update. Pretty much as everyone else has said, the update removes the colors for the numbers and they are all black now. Hopefully this is fixed soon, but right now it's terrible.

When everything is running correctly, break something. * Lost landscape mode. * Big ugly You Lost Pop-up hides where you made your mistake. * Difficult game results appear in the Easy Stats How do you spell "Half-Baked"? Minesweeper Classic! You don't even credit the developer or the company in the app! Update: I remain flabbergasted the developer assumed yelling "You Lose!" in a zoom animated middle of the screen with obnoxious emoticon box, while hiding the error that caused the loss. Wouldn't you want to encourage the 'loser' to play the game again? Wouldn't you want the 'loser' to see their error? Don't you respect the customer anymore that yelling "You Lose! in the faces? You could make it even more egregious by programming Siri to Shout it out. Update: why do I need to ZOOM on my iPad? Because you added more animation! Why not add more puzzles and leave the interface alone?

One bug. Can't write my name when I get a lower score in intermediate mode: it asks for it, but the screen is dead until I hit the OK button. And it would be great if identifying a mine didn't take so long. Maybe half the time would make it quicker to go through the minefield.

Fantastic game!. Looks just like the classic version for windows. I could not ask for a better game, the only thing to add would be landscape mode for more difficult levels. Also, 10 second highscore on Easy mode ;) Don't think twice about buying this app.

Simple but great. This is an exact version of the classic game. There is nothing different and no forced changes, which is good. The touch screen and controls work great. I love having the custom and advanced modes. No complaints at all, totaly worth 99 cents.

Great except for two things.... 1) make it playable in landscape view...it would make much more sense anyway b/c you could see more of the board at once while zoomed in closer 2) have an option to be able to take off the question mark, and an option to set how much time it takes to hold down a square to flag it. I feel like I have to hold my finger on the squares too long Other than that it's a great game. Definitely worth the dollar. 5 star rating after those updates

Mine placement isn't as random as it should be.. I like this app but I have found the mine to not be truly randomly placed on the board as one would expect from a minesweeper game. A bomb is always placed in the upper right hand corner unless that corner is selected first. I go so far as to place a flag on that square as my first move in all my games and I am always correct in placing a flag there. I wish it was actually random placement, but oh well.

Ruined....again.. Not sure he history but the functionality update......is terrible. Right now the bomb flag is a pain, the screen no longer rotates......so can't rotate horizontal....and get the whole board in. Also the face pop up blocks the screen when a game is over; this prevents me from saving unique configs, like 7s, 8s, or specific screw ups that I'd like to save. I use it a problem solving mind exercise so saving is important....... Dudes and Dudettes...... screwed it up. 6/13......somewhat improved......but still have stupid smiley face, and I get a sense......that I'm replaying the same games.....

iOS 6. Was the best minesweeper app until the iOS 6 upgrade - or at least that's what's I'm attributing it to. Now it gets stuck - doesn't let you click squares for some reason - which makes it jut annoying and unplayable. Please fix it.

Good game just want it to work properly. Now the freezing problem was fixed, but instead every time I start up the app it goes back to a game I started a long time ago. I can't save a game because it just goes back to the same previous game instead. This is frustrating because I like this game but there have been many problems that deter me from wanting to continue playing. Also it has a very slow response when I tap the squares.

What a classic!!. I have always loved this game. It is perfect for when you have to waste a few minutes here and there...Short but good. I am so glad I can now carry it with me all the time.

Response slow. This is the best game I have had, but since the last update the response is slow. My completion times have increased an average of 23% on the expert one, which is a real bummer. You have to wait too much after you move the screen for settling. Fix this and it will be great again!

Latest update, less user functionality. Latest update does not enable a 'landscape' view (rotate) so playing the expert game is a hassle. It does provide stats, which the earlier version did not. However, with the inability to rotate, game is not useable for me. If not fixed soon, will remove from my devices Update: developer just stepped up and contacted me, informing about their plans to fix the landscape view. I appreciate that and look forward to the update and resumption of clearing minefields

Pretty good…. I just upgraded from the free version to get the extra sizes. However, I wish it was an in-app purchase so I could keep my high scores. Also, when I play on Expert, I can't play without zooming in, which is very inconvenient at the start of the game. It's a good app, but it needs to be updated a bit.

Update crashes!. Due to it's history, I'll give this app 5 stars. But this recent update crashes the app as soon as it opens! And it looks from other reviews that it's be a disappointment even if it did load successfully. Please fix!

Great game. Lots of fun

Fun way to pass the time and makes you think. Great game. No complaints at all. It's a fun way to pass the time (and relax) ... and the game forces you to be at least a little bit analytical. Also, a good way to improve your aim on the iPhone touch screen! All I ask is that a level be created between Intermediate and Expert. Call it Advanced. Same size field as Expert but with maybe 80 mines instead of 99. (Sure, I can create a Custom field, but can't track "highest score")

Good game. The game has always been a good way to test your ability to solve problems and use your intelligence to win. My only issue is the size of the squares are far too small and my fingers will accidentally hit the wrong key far too often. In prior versions you could enlarge the squares so I would like to see this problem fixed.

Works lousy on iPhone 4S. Unresponsive touch, it seldom responds to a tap, sometimes you have to tap five or more times before it recognizes tap which is frustrating in a game that's all tapping. The screen doesn't resize automatically or well even done manually. On anything above beginner you have to scroll and swipe to access the entire field, otherwise the tiles are too small to address and the maddingly unresponsive touchscreen renders the game unfit for use.

Thanks for fixing minesweeper. Update: the issue was resolved. My panties are no longer in a bunch. Now the all the numbers and black it is much harder to play. But not that I would know since it crashes every time I try to open it, an issue I never had before.
