Disappointing all-around 😞. I was excited for a mobile Tony Hawk game but was let down from the start and it got worse the more I played. Buggy, bad graphics, bad physics, bad controls, and filled with micro-transactions. A sub-par experience that just wasn’t fun. Disappointed but surprised that the TH franchise could take such a nose dive on their first mobile release. That’s when I realized he had parted ways with his old AAA studio to this C-grade mobile studio, smh. I can’t believe Tony even allowed his name to be associated with this trashy game. Casey’s army from his YT channel is the only reason this game has a decent rating. All the 5-star reviews only mention Casey, not the game, lol. Mobile games can be close to console level these days but this looks like someone took a crappy mobile skate game from 5 years ago and put Tony Hawk skins on everything. Not worth the time. Tony please get a skilled studio and do something that is actually innovative.

Controls and map glitches make game miserable. The game would be fun, but the lack of control function makes it annoying to play. The most frustrating aspects are the ridiculously large turns that make it impossible to quickly shift direction and the fact that when you bump into anything you are immediately shot off into the other direction. If you are sandwiched between two objects such as a rail and a close wall, you simply bounce back and forth continuously. This eats up so many valuable seconds making it very frustrating to complete all achievements in the time limits. I see that this complaints have been consistent for over a year and no improvement has been achieved to the game play controls. If you want a fun mobile skating game, that actually works, download Skate Party. This game is a waste of time for now.

Lame. As much as I want to like this game, there is just so much wrong with it. When you hit something, you bounce back the other way. God forbid you are between two objects, you'll just ping pong back and forth. Make the guy fall. Simple. Also the directional control is garbage making steering horrible. There is no slow and turn so you have to stop first, turn your board, then go. It really lowers the quality of game play. Maybe Skate Jam 2.0 will be worth playing

Love the game but unable to load new level. Absolutely love this game, but believe there might be a glitch in the Southwest Level. I cannot load any of the individual tracks and the only level that I can play is the tournament. Not sure if I’m alone in this issue but would be great if it could be fixed for the next update.

This Is Such A horrible Game. The controls have been stolen from skate Party, the speed that your character go’s is really slow. After a while the music get old and annoying. When you get all these points and some how get stuck in between a ramp and a wall it makes you fall and lose all your points. The graphics are terrible. You can’t customize your character. Really hard to get a new board sometimes. My friends Rage on this game Because of how in control you have over your character. You’ll be going down the street go over a curb and the your whole body shifts flat. The tony hawk thing is terrible, might as well be playin subway surfers sure this game has potential but they haven’t done anything about it.

Needs work. Like many others mentioned, this game has potential. The controls are a bit difficult. There used to be a THPS2 for iOS years back and I loved it. For those who grew up playing THPS, holding down the Ollie button gave you extra speed. It’s strange not having that in this game. Getting into grinds also feels a bit off as well. Other than that additional changes I’d like to see is on the creative side. Update the app logo it looks very kooky. And I hope there’s additional graphics and companies. Would love to see some older birdhouse graphics. Bird man is a bust guy so make sure you continue to get input from those who skate so it’s authentic.

Fun but needs some improvements and maybe some explaining. Things like getting stuck in walls or bailing on at the top of a vert trick for no reason makes this game very frustrating at times. The trick controls being so close together causes problems landing tricks occasionally. Is there any way to do a wall grind? What is with the greyed out achievements? What is required to achieve the pro rating of a level? Otherwise the game does remind me of the great times I had playing THPS2 on PlayStation back in the day and I find myself wanting to play a lot.

Had to delete it. The controls were a bit of a mess to begin with (hard/impossible to do any of the corner grab moves), but this update completely destroyed my balance. I can’t control it and balance is lost within a matter of seconds. Plus, in order to play some levels you have to watch a video now? What’s up with that? Update: finally got enough fans for the 4th tournament. No other competitors but I somehow got both 4th and 5th place. Balance is still gone and I still couldn’t do all the tricks because it doesn’t recognize the 4 corners.

Broken cash grab that became fun and enjoyable. I began this game on day 1. It was god awful BUT now coming back to it now that Tony Hawks making main AAA games again this doesn’t seem as bad anymore and I’d like to think my “don’t support this game so Tony hawk and team will put care and effort into his next game” is why we got the best game of the year so far Tony Hawks Pro Skater remake. Below is my original review for nostalgia: The game is easily one of the worst tony hawk experiences and that’s saying a lot. Tony Hawk should’ve hired professionals and took this to console but instead it’s full of micro transactions and controls that are hit or miss. The levels aren’t designed for what the game is able to do and many times just feels frustratingly annoying since you will jump and immediately fall due to the games late reactions to commands. Don’t support this so that Tony Hawk & team will put care and effort into his next game.

GLITCHY. so so glitchy... I WANTED to give this app money. I still play it quite a bit...the basics are a good game...but, it’s endlessly frustrating when the play is completely derailed by glitches. falling for no reason, phasing through walls, weird physics. Tony Hawk himself is a rad dude...and, as a San Diegan, I inherently want to support...but, the glitches in this game are so bad/glaring. Honestly, if the free version was glitchy and there was a paid version that promised all glitches were fixed? I’d buy it. So disappointing...

Solid game. Needs bug fixes. This game is everything I need out of a mobile tony hawk game. Some bugs, like if you perform a grab midair after a trick it limits you to rocket air and air walk and you only seem to be able to perform a Benihana by launching from the ground or from a grind. This makes it ironically and literally impossible to do the objective on tropics level 2 where it asks you to perform an impossible into a 360 Benihana. I can only do an impossible into a 360 rocket air no matter what I do. Realistically I can just move on and get over it but that one objective is really bugging me

Frustrating, then fun. But needs rebalancing. It’s so frustrating at first that I almost deleted. But I pressed on because I’m addicted to Tony Hawk games. Huge tip: set the controls so that the buttons are further apart! This changed everything for me. That being said, developers: PLEASE rebalance the requirements to opening new tournaments. I have completed 30/30 goals on three areas, and 28/30 on the fourth, and am still only 74% of the way to unlocking the tournament that will open up East Coast. The amount of points still needed is so high that I feel like it’ll take ages of repeating the same tournaments over and over again to ever see. I can’t even see how paying with actual cash could help given the options in the shop. Also, please look into bug fixing the Boardwalk level. The first half pipe to the right doesn’t work properly, and in the middle pools I keep crashing if I get too much air- just hitting something in the air. Please fix. 3 stars because when it shines, it shines. It’s still a Tony Hawk game, but it needs bug fixes and rebalancing.

The game doesn’t let me free skate in other levels.. Hi I love this game but when the update came out it is only letting me free skate in the first level of the region even though I beat that region. I like the game but if you could release a patch notes for this update it would be a good thing. I will hope that you can fix this also I saw when you try to gap a channel after you do it trying a combo makes the combo slow down your speed after a few tricks. It is bugging me and the idea that both of the issues are a thing is just annoying me. I hope you guys can fix this like next week cause I don’t wanna wait almost a whole month for the next update. I think I judged it too soon. When this game first launched I opened it up took one look at it and said no. However I came back to it a few weeks later and decided to restart and give a fair look at and I’m more than satisfied. I wanted this game to be good and in my opinion it is. Sure it’s not as good as the console games but it’s a mobile game of corse it can’t be the same as pro skater but it’s still a very good game especially because they keep updating it.

You can buy a used PS2 and Proskater 2 for LESS money and MUCH better gameplay!!!!. I can’t believe anyone would legitimately give this 5 stars let alone anything above 3. The gameplay is awkward and the controls don’t come easy. You’ll be going at a jump or rail and hit some invisible object that sends you off in some random direction if you don’t just fall down. Transfers from one quarter pipe to another is impossible and you crash, hard. The micro transactions are totally out of control as this is such a ridiculous cash grab that you can easily see you’re being ripped off. You need 3 different kinds of skateboards and you can buy a version of each at $20 AND $35?! Buying the three $35 boards for $105 could buy you a used ps2 and a couple full Tony Hawk games that are MUCH better, and still have enough $$ for some snacks and soda!! I really hope these games can get back on track because they used to be the best. Tony Hawk, I’m sorry man but you shouldn’t be proud of this fall from grace.

Don’t blame Tony, he probably never plays mobile. My goodness.. I really wish someone on Tony’s team took time to play this game before letting him put his name on it. Just spend some money on good engineers and designers and basic user testing before you do something like this. Terrible controls, embarrassing graphics, no flow. When you push skate there is a 1-2 second delay before you even move. I honestly don’t blame Tony.. but good god man, your a legend and this game looks like it was built in 2008 not 2018..

I miss old skateboarding games.... Remember when skateboarding games were quality? This game is garbage. So sad to see such a good franchise milked for every last dollar. Corporate greed strikes again. Controls are so unintuitive, gameplay is repetitive, graphics are the bare minimum, and there are too many micro transactions. UI is cluttered as heck, there is no feeling of improvisation in the tricks, it feels clunky and unsatisfying to land a trick, and it’s just so disappointing in so many ways. Can we please go back to making quality skateboarding games on real gaming platforms? The community has been through enough disappointment.

bad and very disappointing. this game is the worst game i’ve ever played and i’ve played so many bad games, this game isn’t very fun, bad controls, so many ads that they almost force you to get rid of them. it is a ripoff of skateparty because the same people worked on this game and what’s disappointing is that this is a tony hawk game and he was proud to even advertise this game and I love skateboarding games. some of the maps don’t even load correctly so it looks like it’s super foggy and makes it unplayable, this game can’t be fixed unless it was just reset and i’d love to make a game for tony hawk and id do it from scratch

Why I’m rating this as high as I am.. This game has so much potential and the things they can do with this game could be great, I’m also not impressed with the fact that the ripped the controls and basic functions from another game called skate party (plus the tutorial section is the first map you start with in skate party as well) But I’m willing to look past that because if these developers decide to update this game frequently with new content and fixes to bugs, and this is just something I’d like to see maybe tried in this game, I really enjoy the feel of the flick controls in the EA skate games, I’m not sure if EA owns that but what if we could have an option for controls, instead of buttons we could have the choice to use another stick that it could be used in a similar fashion in the EA skate games. And on the topic of controls they are not as terrible as the other reviews I’ve read. IF YOU’RE ON THE FENCE ON WETHER TO GET THIS GAME OR NOT I FO DEFINITELY ASK TO GIVE IT A GOOD TRY. I think that the controls are the main cause for people deleting or not downloading. They have a bit of a learning curve and once you can get over that it’s a fun game that is satisfying when landing tricks and linking up lines. Great game once it gets the bit of work it needs it’ll be even better and it’ll get that 5th star.

Fixed earlier bugs, now it’s great!. The developers reached out to me after I left a low review due to a glitch in a previous version of this game. I finally had a chance to check it out again, and it totally reminds me of Tony Hawk Pro skater that I played years ago! Loving this game! Well done, devs! And I’m glad you updated me that it got fixed or I’d have forgotten to look!

Total garbage!. I gave it an effort, I really did. I got through a few levels and got a feel for the game. The character in the game turns very wide, but the layout is cramped. It’s nearly impossible to turn around in half the places on the map. You start bouncing around and off of everything. I would go down pathway, tap the wall, and the character would bounce if of a few things uncontrollably and then I’m shooting back the way I came. Very hard to have control in the game. Your line of sight is all over the place and does nothing for your nerves. I’ve already deleted it because It’s just an all around bad game.

Great Hawk MOBILE Game. It’s FREE!. No it’s not a tony hawk console game, but for mobile, it’s incredible! It’s not skate 4 either if you pay attention. It’s got online tourneys and the gameplay is way more authentic. Career mode is way different too. You can tell Tony played a big part. A lot of these bad reviews are just Trolls

Casey Neistat Brought Me Here.. I grew up on the Pro Skater series! This game however is a part of the tasteless freemium gaming movement. This game is littered with awful ads for other games.. what? Press this button to watch an ad and get the free thing. Pay to progress. Yes there are exceptions of excellent freemium games. They are very rare and this isn’t one of them. The game itself is.. maybe a 4/10. I get it, it’s gotta be impossible to make a skating game feel good on mobile without tactile buttons and thumb sticks. This game feels bad right now (will most likely improve with updates), but will ultimately never feel great. Graphics are from the 90’s but I can dig it. Overall tho it feels soulless. Why? Why didn’t you rerelease a Tony Hawk Pro Skater game? 1 or 2 would’ve ran fine on mobile. I would’ve easily paid $5, $10, or $15 even. Dear Tony Hawk, this game is quantity over quality. Best of luck. I won’t be playing this cash grab. It’s a smart biz play to go freemium, I understand. But your brand needs that high-quality touch. Which might even end up making more money in the long run. Also, consider changing the thumbnail image to a retro-like graphic design from the 90’s. To better match the look of the game and to add some depth.

Needs work. The game makes me want to get the ol OG Xbox out and play the first Tony Hawk games. This app is fun to pick up for a few minutes here and there but the controls are very frustrating even though you can do a little customizing. Suggestions: Please add a retry screen before kicking me back to the main menu. Lots of objectives to complete in 1-2 minutes and it takes a dozen attempts to complete everything. If I’m working on a level, don’t have the menu default select the first level. Ads load super slow but I’ve been able to ex out fairly quick most of the time so that’s nice. Can you just offer a no ads version that is paid with a one time price? Maybe I missed it? Controls like for balancing manuals and grinds/slides/plants need to be a bit more forgiving since we are using phones. I’m surprised the betas didn’t correct these issues already. Potentially a really cool game. Actually is a really cool game but has the potential to be much better.

Liked game but no longer works. On a free phone game I can put up with quite a lot between glitches, shoddy controls, ridiculous physics with weird learning curves, being forced to sit through ads that don’t reward anything etc. And I continued playing this game because it had many levels and achievements to complete (even if it seems to be a poorly done copy and paste job from the Skate Party games.) Towards the end of the Baja levels I stopped receiving XP, cash or anything else as a reward which means I can no longer advance in level or unlock any new achievements to work toward. Even when things were “working,” each time you play one of the Baja levels you have to watch an ad (that rarely plays and then if it finally does, it plays two ads for your trouble.) Then you rack up a new personal high score and it offers you the same 100 XP it offered when you had a bad run (or you can attempt to double it by watching another ad that no longer functions at all.) I like skateboarding games enough that I’d be willing to grind towards the next level at that rate but at this point there’s no motivation. Please make updates!

Littered with micro transaction. Pretty awful game. I’d send you to the other game that this is a complete replica of but that would just continue to support the developers (same company). This game is absolutely bombarded with micro-transactions that make it nearly unbearable to play. The biggest tease for this is that you can’t even free skate until you’ve completed all objectives for certain levels. Unfortunately to complete those objectives you have to buy some special board to unlock two objectives on each level. Absolutely ridiculous. Just the fact that they had to hide the freeskate option behind a dumb micro-transaction paywall is very telling of how terrible this game is. Remove that aspect of the game and it would be OK to play. Not great, but not terrible.

I had to delete this game. Even before this most recent update, the game was a mess. As a long-time Tony Hawk fan, I was excited to see what could be done with his brand on mobile. Instead, I found a repetitive, glitchy, gimmicky, and frustration experience, with problems in just about every aspect of the game. Although I did have fun initially, it eventually led to a grind in an attempt to achieve self-set goals, and led to me playing it less and less. Even though this update touts the numerous improvements and fixes, I have found things to only be more frustrating. First off, the fact that it took four months for any information to come out regarding this game is frustrating to say the least. On top of that, many of the problems I see with this game have either not been addressed or compounded. The devs decided to double down on the already egregious pay-to-win elements (the boards that you can ONLY purchase with irl money are particularly insulting in my eyes) with this subscription service, all but guaranteeing that the only people at the top of the “new and improved” tournaments

Wont Unlock Map. Great game to play but trying to unlock stage/maps i cant even do that i do what the objective asks and i do it and wont achieve objective the last 2 before the free mode option there dark shaded and i do it it wont work i tried everything watched videos of people doing the same thing i am and unlocking those objectives and achieving them need help

It's nowhere close to Pro skater. With 3 hours of acculated playtime, this game is filled with glitches and horrible controls. Granted the controls are used with a touch system or phone tilt, the controls to flip trick, grind, and grab could have been designed better so they are not so close to each other. I found the game not registering my commands. Character will glitch through hard surfaces and ceilings. This game is very much unpolished and the micro transactions are expensive, so don't even bother with the skate decks.

Has potential. Just kidding. This game was clearly ripped from another skating game. Also seems like Tony Hawk himself had no part in this project. I mean, this is a mess. It’s the average “mobile game”. Bugs. Ads. Forced unskippable ads. Bad controls. Touch controls. Just an awful app. Just skip it if you actually enjoy skating games or Tony Hawks legacy. Go play TouchGrind 2 because even the free version of that app has more content and less ads than this app.

Include playback videos to see your skating session!. Love the game, would just like to see an option to watch your skate played back. Also would be awesome if you could expand on the soundtrack. I like the stuff that is already included but it would be cool to see some throwbacks like Rage or some hip-hop in there too! Thanks!

Good thing this is free.. This is downright the worst iteration of a Tony Hawk game I’ve ever experienced. I’d rather play THPS5 and it took a lot for me to even type that out. Tricks aren’t the same from the older games, the inputs don’t work half the time, the camera is way too far forward and doesn’t follow the character correctly, laughable royalty-free level music, etc. What a waste of the franchise. Played once and will never touch it again. If anyone reading this review wants to play a real Tony Hawk game, play the old ones or download THUG PRO for PC and Mac. I’m in disbelief at how bad this experience was for me.

Fun overall! Just needs some fine tuning!. Great mobile option for THPS. Hoping they’ll be able to fine tune controls. Can be a bit touchy at times and less responsive at others. Parks and levels are interesting and fun. Have enjoyed the game for sure. Hoping to see regular updates and improvements.

Not there yet. Few things are as exciting as an opportunity to taste that same feeling of excitement when I played tony hawks pro skater. So naturally I was excited to play this game. There are many things to love mainly the nostalgia. However there needs to be an easy way to get rid of adds and pay to play is no bueno. Better boards mean better scores. Disappointed with those aspects. I never thought of tony hawk as a sell out but maybe everyone else was righty the whole time because this seems like the most sell out money grab game he could have made. Also the most importantly the controls feel laggy and smushy and I can’t slide my thumb up to trigger tricks?! This seems so obvious. Work needs to be done. Graphics are also below what I’d expect no days. However I could forgive the graphics if the mechanics were sound.

I really want to like it but... So the game is fine but the main layout is cluttered. There’s just so much to look at it, that it is overwhelming, and that’s not even why I don’t like the game. My biggest issue with the game is the controls and the physics. If you’re not sure what I mean, download it and experience it for yourself. I can deal with the trick, Ollie, and grind buttons not always working, but the killing point for me is that when you hit a wall, you bounce right off. It might not seem like a big deal, but put a rail on your other side and you can’t escape. Even that wouldn’t be such a huge deal if that maps didn’t have a time limit, but if you spend 10 seconds trying to turn around or escape for a tight spot, you may as well start the level over right there. All the micro transactions are super annoying too. I honestly am downloading touch grind 2 right now to see if it’s any good. I used to have touch grind 1 back in the day, and this Tony hawk game reminded me that I liked it. I’ll guarantee that at least the buttons will work, unlike this app.

I want to rate higher but........... This game has the potential to be really good, because who doesn’t love a tony hawk game? But the controls are awful, certain tricks don’t even work. I go into the tricklist and try to do a hard flip or 360 flip but it doesn’t work. I drag over to the indicated part, diagonally but it just does a shuv it. My opposite diagonals, the little red lines do the same trick, when they’re supposed to do different ones. This game has great potential but is held back by poor controls.

Old School Tony Hawk. This game definitely brings back memories of the early Tony Hawk games. This is one of the better skateboarding games I’ve seen in the App Store. I love the music too. Now there are some downsides. I hate that the bailing mechanics are not consistent. I would bail on the dumbest things. Also I find myself falling through the world especially when I’m near a wall. Then all of a sudden the screen fades and I’ve responded someplace else. Which that spawn animation kills my time especially if I hit a buggy area. I will say the thing I hate the most is the speed of the character, even though I’ve increased my stats. Also I hate that the player doesn’t automatically kickoff when you respawn. Hopefully these things get changed. Besides all the weird bugs and mechanics I really enjoy the game.

Glitchy. If I try and play free skate it selects a different level every time. Also, whenever you jump too high, the character automatically bails in mid air like their is an invisible platform. Also the objective in Chinatown (perform a 1080 point grab) I’ve done this several times with different grabs with the right board and still have not completed the task. Overall, good game but needs some work on the glitches and mechanics which I understand is a huge undertaking.

The new update ruined this game. I’ve played this game for a countless hours and occasionally the glitch would get in the way but overall the game was fun with going from line to line , but after this new update with the “improved” balance system it’s just made it completely unplayable. I’d much rather listen to the same Interpol song and have a fun experience grinding but still watching the few adds instead of playing a completely broken game. Hope the devs try and fix it ! If they fix the balance system and make the adds not break the game I’ll forsure update the review and recommend it to friends , but until then imma just wait and hope

Updated: Even worse! -1 ⭐️ Horrible economy + bugs = 👎. Impossible to play without paying. This is a joke. The economy model should be focused on retention. I played 3 times and ran out of money even though I wan 2 round. You pay 1500 coins to win 800 Way to go! In addition a lot of bugs with control and the world itself. Update #1: Controls simply don't work time to time. You press jump multiple times and nothing happens. Horrible physics adds confusion, when you fall down underground and see green textures, game resets you in a spot we you started. Bugs bugs bugs bugs. And no updates addressing them. Simply not enough QA on the game. It’s a shame that they advertised the game like that and didn’t test it well enough. I’m not even going to go into the quality of the Ads that are shown by third party. Couldn’t you guys pick a better provider for the ADs???

A good tony hawk game after a long time. Grew up playing Tony hawk pro skater and was super excited when they announced this title. Been playing the game for the past couple of days and can say that its a really fun and well made game. Game modes are enjoyable and controls are intuitive. Levels are challenging and have kept me engaged. Surprised to see such an in depth and well thought out career mode for a free app. Good job!

A ton of micro-transactions and sound doesn’t work. Gameplay is decent, but there’s an inordinate number of micro-transactions for a game that doesn’t work that well. I run into at least one or two glitches every time I play it, none gamebreaking but definitely immersion-breaking. I’ve fallen through the map more times than I have fingers. Also I’ve never been able to get any sounds to work. Music, SFX, nothing. I’ve done literally everything possible to find a fix, but no dice. For a Tony Hawk game a a great soundtrack is a must; taunting me with great song titles I recognize that pop up during loading screens is just cruel. Sort yourselves out, and I hope Tony chooses someone else to work with in the future.

Great Game! Glad A Tony Hawk Game Is Back. I am impressed with the new Tony Hawk game, glad it came out on iOS and hope more is added to the game. Only little problem I have with it though are the glitches, obviously it is a new game and this is common but I am stating from my experience. Game was great and is recommending to anyone interested in a skating game on mobile. Also, the soundtrack is very short and should be expanded with more songs like in the old Tony Hawk games.

Trick to manual. I was finally able to progress thanks to tip from the developers. Enjoying this more now, especially after the several updates. Still, this is could be better. It just feels outdated right out of the box, like a 90s game. Current phones are capable of better graphics and physics. Soundtrack could better and less repetitive. Menu can be a little confusing (I will don’t get why one of the objective in the crusty area is till grayed out)

👎 I really wanted to like this 🙁. I was a huge THPS fan but the controls and the game itself is just awful. It's no better than any of the other iphone skate games. You'll play 30minutes and give up because the controls are frustrating. The game might be okay (at best) if they were fixed. Having to press forward to move forward is really annoying and half the time the controller doesn't even register user inputs. Touch screen Joystick controls never work well. You need wifi or a data connection to play and there is frankly way too much loading.

So close..!! But so far from playable.... I was so excited to learn about this game. I’ve been playing THPS 1 & 2 on Nintendo 64 since Christmas and am itching for more Tony Hawk. I don’t mind the micro transactions and pay to play mechanics so much. However, it’s the garbage controls and lack of player responsiveness that killed it for me. I can rock out a massive combo in the classics, but can barely land a single trick in this game. It doesn’t help that the jump button is in the very bottom corner of the screen, which on an iPhone XS Max is nearly impossible to push without snapping my thumb in half or dropping my device. Not sure if Tony and the team will bother to fix these issues or if they’ll just scoop the steamy pile and toss it into the gutter with all his other failures... Bring back the classic feel! The retro play style! The responsive oldies! Do it for your fans, Tony..!

Great but a few bugs. Always loved the Tony Hawk titles and this one is still great! A few bugs in terms of bailing for jumping too high and I haven’t gotten any screws the last three times I’ve leveled up. But still enjoying it for now! Wish the reward were more lucrative for winning best combos or high scores. You should at least be able to win your money back plus something, now you actually lose money even if you get 1st place.

Controls make this game unplayable. How does this game have 4.5 stars? The only possible answer is the developer is cheating somehow. This is by far the worst skating game I’ve ever tried to play. The controls are so bad, it just makes you want to throw your phone at the wall. This game has no redeeming qualities whatsoever. The menus are a mess and difficult to navigate. The graphics look like a PS1. There’s only a handful of tricks, and many of the most basic tricks are missing. The controls are incredibly unresponsive and difficult to use. Tons of in app purchases. The music seems cool when you first open it up, but you’ll grow to hate it because you get booted back to the main menu after EVERY run, even when you try to restart, and you have to wait for the level to reload every single freaking time. It’s really a shame Tony allowed his name to be marred by this trash.

Possibly Has Potential?. It’s a mobile game so there’s not a high expectation but the game is littered with bugs, poor controls, and the worst part of mobile gaming returns (micro transactions). The game has an old-school THPS feeling to it, they did well there! Levels seem to be split into about four parts each with their own variation of goals, so there’s plenty of content. Playlist is made of some decent up and coming artists in classic THPS games fashion. The skating itself could use work there’s no way to keep pushing off to build up speed, buttons and thumb-stick can be unresponsive causing bail after bail. If you grind some of the ramps or jump something just wrong it will just fall through the map into grayness. Turning is wide and if you get caught between obstacles you will be in bounce off purgatory. Grinding meter flips quicker than the thumb-stick can correct and the momentum of a combo doesn’t carry over so if you just keep jumping to do grabs or flips between grinds the meter resets center and you don’t have to worry about balance anyway. When you lean back down a ramp or pipe on a grind you still fall, instead of going back down. Quick fix list Push off button or forward on stick to keep building speed. Slightly tighter steering. Wall grinds and the ability to jump up and kick off the wall. Fix the grind meter. Maybe a quick reset drop button to get out of bounce purgatory. Minor bug fixes within maps. Graphics: 2/5 Controls: 1/5 Music: 3/5 Gameplay: 2/5

Much could be improved upon, but still fun. Touch controls are tough to get the hang of and are still hard to use after playing it for a while. Also, in playing the “High Score” or “Best Combo” events, why do you lose money or coins even when you win? You pay 1500 to play one, only get 1000 if you win (-500). Doesn’t make sense. You pay 15 coins to play another, only get 10 back if you win (-5). Pretty simple error that needs to be fixed.

Needs More Polish. This not a bad game at all, it’s just got a few things that deter some people. First thing is that the hit detection is a bit lousy (like I skated through a truck freely) and when it does work it’s harsh man! I was bouncing off walls and dying for no reason from certain jumps. I’m eager to see this product evolve in the hope its more creative and enjoyable than THPS5. One thing I will say that’s slightly important is that the starting speed that the first board has is painful. Like really painful. Trying to do certain objectives until you properly strategise where to be because you board is so slow is painful. I failed collecting hawk multiple times because my board was so painfully slow! A few upgrades had indeed changed that but your default speed shouldn’t have to be upgraded to comfortably move around. Just a tip from history. Otherwise an interesting product.

Unfortunate. I have been a have fan of the Tony Hawk franchise since the first release. As a developer, I understand how much effort goes into these things and would like to see this fixed. While I could go into more depth, here are the cliff notes: Pros - Soundtrack Challenges - poor control response - not all objects grindable. And not way to determine which are which - poor graphics much more visible on iPad - close camera makes it hard to determine if you have enough air to complete the move - holding jump will seemingly release at random without jumping (lose charge) - couldn’t find how to rotate in air - tutorial allowed me to pass without actually having completed the required move Overall this feels like a beta for THPS1. I’ll uninstall as to not ruin my childhood memories, and maybe check to see if this is playable in 6 months.

Just like Pro Skater for your phone.. Was surprised how much this reminded me of Pro skater. The soundtrack is awesome, with a learning curve that rewards skill without mindless button mashing, will be playing this one for a while.

Pretty good game so far!. Very good game, could have a few things changed like the camera angles, graphics, and add more tricks! I'm pleased to see more tricks like 360 flips and varial flips as well!! Another thing is when you do a 180 it looks stiff when you land and automatically changes into correct position which is a bit annoying and looks unrealistic. It would be good to see a larger range of boards, shoes, ect. The last issue is that when you try to do a line that should look like it will work you always fall for no reason. Can't wait to see future updates and to see this game develop and have new features! P.S. I make your own skatepark and characters feature would be awesome too!!

Broken. Managed to play the tutorial and nothing further. The game wants you to visit the “skate shop” thereafter - however the menu is broken so you are unable to select and what it wishes and progress. Call me when it’s fixed...

Controls are terrible. In order to move you have to swipe up. Instead of just holding the ollie like the originals. Tapping the ollie does a tiny ollie, you have to hold down to get enough height. The character can’t even do a pop shuv-it without crashing as the build up ollie doesn't get the height required. Holding the directional pad doesn't change the trick. Left and right both does a kickflip. Bumping into a wall has a lag with a turn(eg left trigger reversing so you have to turn right to turn left but then it randomly clicks back and right is right again.) Lots more problems as well. Needs a lot of updates before its worth while.

Cool game, but broken with Nimbus+ controller. I love this game and just bought a Steelseries Nimbus+ controller, however the buttons don’t work. I can steer with the controller, but the A, B, X and Y buttons don’t trigger any action from the player... :(

Don’t trip over the haters. I wanted to share that after seeing some of the comments in the reviews, I was pretty sceptical. But knowing that none of the haters has tried and finished anything better, I wanted to persevere with the game. To the development team, I know this is version 1 and there is still more stuff to come. Don’t let negative comments get you guys down, haters gonna hate. I was particularly curious how many reviews said negative things without advice or suggestions on how to improve. Some people just want to be part of the problem rather than part of the solution. Dissapointed. I have been playing tony hawk games for the last 15 years and by far this is the worst one I have played. This is not even close to any of the previous games, the mechanics are downright bizarre; since when did moon gravity come into affect? The buttons and controls were horrible, I could barely use them, they were in an obscure place and just hard to use. Coming from using a controller, it's not hard to adapt, but using that scheme was just terrible. Level design was great and could be a great game, but because of the way it is and has been developed I won't be playing. :(

Yes and No. Honestly I didn’t expect much from this game. -Tutorial doesn’t cover everything, but you can check the moves in the menu. -Control are hard to get used to imo, but you can change the layout to by custom moving the buttons around. Once set up at the PlayStation button assignment muscle memory helped. -I feel like you have to have the nostalgia of playing the old ones to help push you to give the game a chance./You have to be good at video games in general to succeed at the career mode. Once you make a proper push and get everything figured out it is actually alright. I’ve put 6 hours so far in the game and I intend on seeing how far I can make it in the career. Good timesuck.

Has Potential.... Being an avid THPS player I looked forward to this , however I find the controls somewhat lacking and a little way to sensitive played with the settings a bit to try make it more enjoyable but it’s still not perfect , I do like that there are many levels / Variations and haven’t experienced any major issues while playing except for a few random spots that seem to trigger a reset in character position as if I bailed a trick but not groundbreaking , Music seems decent as well , I hope to see the devs support and continue to improve the game cause It’s certainly nice to see a Tony Hawk game on mobile after being away from the classic games from the PS2 days.

Would have been fun but got too hard. Had a ton of fun with this game until I beat the first set of levels, and it was way to difficult to pass the competition round to get to the third set of levels. Frustrating and annoying. For the first set of levels I’d have given it 4 or 5 stars, but what’s the point of a game you can’t finish?

Bring back tony hawk 2!!. Back in 2013-2014 you could download tony hawk pro skater 2 and the controls were flawless. The controls Were like playing the game all over again on my ps2. The controls for this game were terrible and confusing. The skater should always be moving at a steady pace and he’s crouching. You shouldn’t need to hold a push button forward. Fix the controls and it wouldn’t be so bad

Seems rushed and confusing. Can’t understand the tutorial. Been trying to fill my “hawk meter” for a week. Controls are unresponsive and gameplay is like being a pin ball. I’m giving it another week. Stop making us spend more money.

More you progress, better the game is. This game have truly potential. You can feel the old thps combo madness if you progress and upgrade your skills. The level are surprisingly big. Now need fix some glitch with controls. Sometimes i don’t understand what the skater do... fix the ping pong effect when we are stuck between two non skatable objets. Fix the manual/nose manual level of execution is too random and hard to do. Overall i enjoy alot this game and i see many good things but need little more work to accomplish the game to full potential. Free skate mode? Full game in one price? More features like thps2? Ok enough talk. Good game overall. Keep on the good work!

Better Options. Although I appreciate the return of the Tony Hawk franchise in any form, I don’t think this game hits the mark at all. Frankly, this game looks and feels like a cookie cutter mobile skateboarding game and lacks the depth and good controls of both free and paid alternatives. True Skate or Skater are both better options.

I’m a fan. It’s a great game for anyone who grew up on skate games cause it’s got the same feel and nostalgia. I’m a big fan of the tournaments but I wish there was an easier way to learn how to get better at certain tricks like maybe adding a free roam option.

Clunky. Controls are not snappy like they were on past tony hawk games, when you finally get a trick to work it can be fun, but it is so finicky that it makes this game more of a drag than a fun experience. Also the graphics could use a major step up.

Best memories. Just like the tony hawk game I played on the ps2 when I was younger. What a great memory and I love that I can now play this nostalgic game in an app! Everything as I remember it, down to the music titles on the screen.

Buggy, Trick to Manual. There are several times I launch off jumps where my guy won't do a trick, camera moves to a weird viewpoint and he crashes. I've tried every trick I can think of to a manual and it still won't give me the achievement. From rail slides to jumps to manual and nothing works. Unless I'm missing something, it's not working. I was just getting into the game when I experienced all of this and it's making me reconsider playing it.

Hawk on the Move!. The app was better than I expected, but there are still some problems. Most of the time my manuals don’t happen after moving up then down or vice versa. Grabs are a little hard to perform, but are possible. Everything else is a-okay!

Could be better. I liked the game at the start then it becomes impossible in some levels. One lvl asks for a 360flip to tail slide but it’s impossible to do the 360 flip can do other tricks into the tailslide. Then somethings are grindsble but on a different lvl the same type of obstacle is not Has a good old tiny hawk game feel but just needs some good fixes and tweaks

Can’t Do A 360 Kickflip. One of the challenges is do a 360 kick flip tail slide. It’s not possible, because the controls do not allow for a 360 kick flip. I’ve been playing the game for a week and completed 80% of all challenges and still have not landed a 360 kick flip. It’s really frustrating. Outside of that I did enjoy playing, but this game does not hold up to the thps standard.

This game MUST be from 1995 - v bad controls. LOL! I read reviews for this game and expected more. This does not measure up to 2019 standards for gaming by any means. Graphics are sub par, controls are terribly difficult due to a lack of speed variations for your skater, and the tricks wiz by so fast you can’t enjoy them. If this game were released on Sega Genesis it’s be awesome, but c’mon... give us a better/updated skating game, Tony!

Completely ripped off skateparty. Dude every model some parks tricks control design basically the whole game is ripping off skate party 1-3 I know because the newest one (the one you stole the most) was 2yrs and this is 1yr so guys you should actually work from your own not steal another game completely. The things that are different is the animation speed (same animation from skate party), some parks, you added a Tony hawk character (2 tho) and the menu etc... Just stop dude your not fooling anyone

The game is broken. Upon playing the game it seems fine for the first 10 minutes, then you realize everything is locked and nothing updates. It’s not even a game, just a platform to scam off advertisements. I’ll change my rating once they disdain from being ignorant, also challenges requesting specific lines (in case heelflip to noseslide) no matter how many times you do it, you’ll never get it.

Eh. Bad, bad controls. Not even the precise touch screen of any iOS device can save this game. It’s just bad on all platforms of mobile phones. Fix the controls and this game would be in people’s phones and tablets probably for years to come. But til then, sorry dev, had to delete it, for now.

Some issues. 1st issue, the balance meters are really hard to do in this game 2nd issue, can you move the tricks down to the original position? 3rd issue, bonelesses arent as big as they should be 4th issue, how do u manual?

I hate this game. This game is so horrible. Even worse than TONY HAWK 5. First of all the maps are just ripped from skate jam. Second of all it’s just skate jam reskinned. Overall just horrible. And especially how you can’t play Tony Hawk when it’s a Tony Hawk game. They just make you pay 10 DOLLARS just for no ads and tony and all maps. Terrible Game Play. This game is fun enough but too many glitches. How many times I’ve use funds built up by game play and not purchasing that are squandered because of glitches and not adding points when earned from tricks... doesn’t seem right. When your current score is 20k and you pull a 340k combo and it doesn’t add that too your score, doesn’t seem fair and somewhat scam like. Stick to SkateParty

Fun but easy. It is fun and easy to control and I like that there is not a lot of ads However the tricks seem too easy and the graphics aren't as good as other games but if you are looking to start playing won't hawk this a game to play and then play pro skater or underground

Good game just fix a problem. Make easier to balance the skateboard when grinding. When i grind the sensitivity is too high, so it make me fall side by side. When falling no points at all.

Best Tony Hawk Game. This is the best tony hawk game ever made.i feel like this game has the best music and controls.i hope that add past characters from past tony hawk games.I wish u could run around.I hope they add more maps and a free roam mode.

Was hoping for the n64 glory days. I went into this with high expectations , I was hoping this was basically a port of the n64 version of THPS with onscreen controls . Boy let me tell you I was way wrong . This game has potential if they would just stick with the basics and port it over from the n64 .

Huge fan growing up now disappointed. I didn’t have great expectations for this game. After playing it for a month it’s fun, but it’s also very frustrating. The controls are very sensitive and unlike the original games very much. I’m a little disappointed that Tony hawk could put his name on this game.

It could be better Tony Hawk. I love it but it could be better like adding a practice place with no time limit so you can practice better and I do not like the maps I think you should make them have more plat forms and have a school, forest and a neighborhood to skate in I think theses ideas will make the game more interesting and fun to play

Southwest lvl. I got to the southwest lvl. But where you would hit the play button, it has a movie icon inside the play button and nothing happens. I’ve tried everything and can’t play the southwest lvl???? What’s going on?

Has potential. Controls are not that intuitive and not enough button to use the skater naturally vs worrying about what part of the screen I’m touching. The whole screen should be of use vs trying to mimick a controller from a console.

Fun game but.... Some objectives near impossible. Expected to get 40k on a grind but no rails are long enough even when at 10x and in hawk mode. Only objective not completed but don’t have enough credits to move to next area.

Touch grind is so much better. I wanted to like this game but I can’t. Touch grind which came out years ago has better graphics and much better controls. I get that they are very different games but this game doesn’t seem very well thought out,

Rocking Review. This is one of the most epic skate apps ever! Thanks to Casey Neistat’s video I heard about Tony Hawk’s Skate Jam. And thank you Tony for making another Spectacular Epic Fire Breathing skate game/or being a part of it, and thanks to the creators. The world is in need of some major entertainment and Tony Hawk’s Skate Jam is MAJOR!!!

Great Game.. It’s still new so give them time to patch a few things. All in all it’s the best skateboarding app on the marketplace without a doubt.

Great game. I love the game but for whatever reason it won’t let me play the third region even though I have completed the first two

PLS FIX BUG ON REMOTE. Fun game controls are a little challenging without remote but now that I have the remote only the left analog is working please fix this bug so both sides of the remote can work to do tricks not just analog thanks!

Amazing. I love this game to bits, the only thing I would love is an infinite time mode where you can just do tricks without a time limit and try to get your score really high. Kind of like skate 3

Crumby controls- disappointed. Levels look well designed the fact that the controls are so wonky will leave you frustrated! I deleted this game - then thought maybe I was being too hard on it so I installed again- But after the ridiculously crumby controls started getting me upset I deleted again Don’t waste your time- this is not like a pro skater game

Don’t download. I didn’t expect much being that Tony Hawk games have had a horrible track record, but when the controls are so terrible that you would rather play touch grind from way back when they still made iPod’s....that’s saying something. I’ll give it a chance if they redo it but this game is terrible.

Like the original. Brings me back to playing the original for N64. Wish the controls were a bit more fluid but overall its playable and fun

Take back your franchise, Tony.. Tony, this game is in serious need of a console controller. I and many millions of other people fell in love with your games on consoles. Reducing this experience to a cellphone tap experience is mind-numbingly bad. The console experience is where this series belongs. Even a redo of Tony Hawk 4 would get tons of preorders just from the announcement.

Complete objectives and don’t get the new level?. I’m 30/30 on both West Coast and Baja but it won’t let me play Southwest, even though it’s unlocked. It won’t tell me why, nothing happens when I click the play button. The game is pretty fun, but this issue is irritating.

Disappointed. I loved loved loved the original tony hawk games for PS, N64 and Dreamcast. The graphics on this look like the original which is a bit disappointing being that Apple continues to increase capacity of their phones and should be able to put out higher quality graphics. There’s a lot of flickering there’s a lot of weird collision detection issues. But the worst part is the controls nothing works and just a really awkward un fun experience.

It’s good. I like it it’s good and it’s the only skate want to get my mom allows me to get it it’s really good oh and developers can you add a make your own skin we could like make your own skin

Skateboard Party but way more glitches. I remember when this was called skateboard party possibly even make the Lillys skateboard party the scenes are exactly the same and all of the obstacles and everything exactly the same. What is changed is the addition of the Tony Hawk character and apparently the addition of a ton of glitches that make the game not as fun to play as skateboard party. I like the incentive system but this game is super glitchy.
