Needs improvement. I had three back-to-back flights yesterday with short connections and thought the app would be helpful. However, it did not show current flight status (ex: continuously said On Time for a delayed flight) and did not show current gate (which is needed when you only have a short time to get there, and the gate changed). It also did not provide information on the baggage claim carousel, which would have been helpful. The only aspect I thought was useful was being able to check in through the app and access my boarding passes. I travel a lot for my job and use several such apps. This one was a bit of a disappointment when compared to others.
Slow, clunky, and difficult to use. Hey Lufthansa. Want a hint? Fire your web and App developers and hire the team that did Delta’s digital experience With Delta, I quickly load the App, and if flying that day, up pops my barcode and off I go. I fly 80 to 90 flights a year. About 50% on Lufthansa and 40% on Delta. Every time I fly Delta, the digital experience is seamless. I book in the App. I change seats in the App. I get my ticket in the App. All with amazing speed and simplicity of use With Lufthansa I have completely stopped using the web site. The Web site is useless. So slow. So cumbersome. I have stopped. The only reason I use the App is to check on gate status or to be sure my miles posted. Otherwise. It just isn’t worth the pain of waiting The developers should try this simple test. Open the Delta App and Lufthansa App on the day of flight to get to your boarding pass, and count the steps. I have done it. Delta? No clicks post opening the App and 3.2 seconds if I have checked in already. 6.7 seconds and 2 clicks if I have to check in. How does Lufthansa compare? If I have checked in already then it is 6 clicks and 35 seconds. If I haven’t checked in than it is 14 clicks and 78 seconds. This is so bad in comparison that you have to ask- is this the first App this team at Lufthansa has developed? Lufthansa management - fire your developers. Start over. Hire the Delta developers and come up to speed. Your site and your App are just painful
Customer service. Customer service is a zero! No way to talk to a human, and no one gets back to you on reported problems in complicated reporting internet systems. I lost 2 pieces of luggage in Amsterdam. Reported in person at the time. After 2 weeks I got one piece of luggage. Can’t get any response about my second missing piece. I also had to spend the night on the floor at the Frankfurt airport without luggage, and no hotel was available due to cancellation of my flight and full hotels without agent support. All agents walked off the floor at leaving time, without attempting to inform their customers about what to do. There’s more, but just say an awful experience. Not the Lufthansa I used to love to fly. They lost me!
Rather poor app for a flagship carrier. Lufthansa’s app is unreliable and rather slow. Just checking in for a flight is quite painful. The workflow is clunky, and the process errors out frequently. I’m also not sure why I had to re-enter all my data for the return leg of a round trip. This includes my Miles & More number, which doesn’t even match common practice going back many years. To be fair, once you have gone through everything to add your flight, it’s decent. It shows the flight times and gates in a helpful way. It also alerts you to gate changes and checkin times.
Over 3 months waiting my refund. Worst airline company to book your ticket!!!These people they are on a different page and each employee say different things!!!Three times they didn’t let me board on the plane cause Coronavirus issues once cause I didn’t have Pcr test the second cause my Pcr test it was 32 hours and the third time cause I was positive of the virus !!!They have not refund my money over 3 months now and I keep calling them and they are telling me different things each one of their employees!!!I need an answer on my problem and my money back to my account!!If someone can help me cause nothing of that is my fault please I will appreciate it so much
DO NOT FLY WITH LUFTHANSA - please read. I want to warn future passengers and let you know to NOT FLY WITH LUFTHANSA. They’re canceling almost all flights. Connecting flights are being missed. And the only way to get a connecting flight rebooked is by waiting in line for 5-6 hours. Lufthansa has lost 1000’s of people’s including our’s. They’re not even compensating and reimbursing us. The customer support couldn’t care less and are refusing to do their jobs. Also, this app is horrible. The boarding passes aren’t updated on time, the flight cancellations aren’t updated on time. Nothing works the way it should! Please do yourselves a huge favor and pick any other airline. I really hope this doesn’t happen to any other family.
By far the worst airline app I have dealt with.. When compared to delta, united, American, Southwest Airlines. The Lufthansa is by far the worst. It is much slower (on iPhone 16) and way too complicated to navigate. Redeeming miles during booking is virtually impossible probably due to the nonsense where you have to have two accounts that essentially do not talk to each other. A Lufthansa account and a miles and more account. When you’re done selecting flights the app asks you to enter all your credentials like name phone number email and frequent flyer number EVEN THOUGH YOURE LOGGED INTO THE APP. It does not pre fill in these values. TSA pre check or global entry numbers are also virtually impossible to enter into this app. Overall a very frustrating experience like everything I have had with Lufthansa flight booking. There is only one exception. The flight attendants are professional and friendly.
Very disappointed. I thought Lufthansa was reliable and has customer treating well service but i was wrong . The agents at gate refused me to board my flight from Chicago to Istanbul transiting through Frankfort ,they were all female and seem new employees who doesn’t know the basic German visa requirements, i showed them my green card , an email from German consulate general in Chicago as well as the official website of German foreign affairs ministry all clearly indicating that i need transit visa with my passport unless i have either of several documents one of them is Valid US permanent residence card which i have and showed them . Unfortunately,those rude and ignorant ladies all agreed to deny me to board . I didn’t have a choice but to go to Turkish Airlines and pay a lot of money to catch the flight within few hours . Now i am begging my money from Lufthansa for the arrogance and ignorance of their employees . Bye bye Lufthansa . UPDATED:::Lufthansa fully refunded me after 2 months . They admitted their employee’s terrible mistake and i changed my mind and will keep flying with them .
Count on it. Lufthansa continues to provide excellent service before and during flight. From economy up one can count on the special treatment one looks forward to on their flights. Tickets are booked, check in swift, and flights on time. Luggage is carefully handled. Even on long hauls the kind crew is attentive to needs of all passengers. Even before the flight waiting in the security line, the crew was also waiting next to me, a crew member announced with a grin “We’re all your crew!” Nice
Wrong Validation druing the Check-in Process. Please make sure to remove the validation for the certain letters which do not belong to the English alphabet. I encountered this problem while I wanted to do a checkin. I live in Serbia and my last name, like for the most people here, ends in “ć”. When I type it, the validation prevents me from moving on. If I enter last name with “c” instead, I get the error message that I am not providing the adequate data. This makes the app useless for me, because I don’t have a laptop on me everytime I travel. Otherwise the app works well, so I will reduce only one mark as this is really important.
Flight delayed from BLR india, no communication from Lufthansa whatsoever. Lufthansa needs to improve by a large margin with regards to the communication The flight from India took off 2 hours late, we assumed the pilot would recover from the delays, sometimes they do catch up. Upon landing the gate at FRA, was B26 and my connecting flight to DEN was Z21, there was ample time for Lufthansa to assign a near by gate so the passengers could easily board than the endless running from one gate to other which was a mile away, (imagine families with kids and seniors). The worst part was none of the floor escalators were working - everything was under maintenance and why was there a need or another security check? All these delayed significantly. When I reached the gate after all the troubles, the flight was still there the staff told me the gate and system is closed and asked us to rebook(so easy did not care) she said the LH service is just down the corner …honestly it was a long walk again ..nothing close by and then stand in an endless queue and the staff sitting right in the entrance to the queue was so rude. After 45 min of wait, it was my turn and I was assigned a flight but waitlisted, thankfully made it and reached Denver just 2 hrs late from the original schedule. All these would have easily avoided if LH was better planned, it’s turning out to be a worst airline at least for me. I’ll have to reconsider using LH again.
Late departure and connecting flight missed!!!. Our flight from Lyon took off with one hour late. Our arrival in Frankfurt was on the run way at 5 pm, 60 minutes late. We had to take a bus. The boarding of my next flight was closing at 5.15, I ran as much as I could and arrived at 5.24 and was told the boarding was closed. I went all over the airport to finally found the Lufthansa service center. Waited at least 20 minutes to be helped. Got a rebooking for the following day and a hotel night, dinner and breakfast. We waited one hour for the shuttle to the hotel. It was packed with young children, old people and handicapped people. No air. It took us about 30 minutes to finally reach the hotel. So overall, it took me about 3 hours between my missed connecting flight and to finally sit in the hotel room.
Best travel app ever?. I’ve used about every major airline app there is, and they are almost always just okay. But this app takes away ANY worry you might ever have for traveling. A clear overview of your entire journey, ridiculously fast emails when things change so you never miss an update, and just an amazing user interface; by far my favorite airline app. Makes me want to give Lufthansa more of my business just because they care so much about the app.
Not a good user experience. The design is appallingly bad. The links are too small to tap and not visually clear what is a link and what is not. Combined with the fact that the app is slow and links are often unresponsive I have trouble knowing what is a link and what is not. Navigating to different functional parts like flight status is high friction. Users should be able to simply tap the link from Mg Bookings but instead have to go to the Flight Status section Besides the look and feel, which I hate, and the poor functionality described above, the data is out of date. Simple things like “which gate should I go to for my flight” is incorrect! The app tells me gate A66 (in tiny virtually readable font) but at the airport it’s gate A83. Then the airport changes the gate to A82 but this is not reflected in the app either. And speaking of data, it would be nice to understand why there are delays. First my flight was canceled, then after rebooking I arrive at the airport to find out there is a delay… then another delay, but there is zero reason given. WHY!? I cancelled business meetings to rush to the airport for the new flight and then Lufthansa just delays me anyway! Terrible airline. Terrible app.
Purchasing baggage to “economy light”. Was a nightmare! I arrived in Germany via United and return was via partner Lufthansa on an international flight. Not use to having to checkin my carryon of 14kg. Your 8kg allowance should change! The suitcase itself is 3.5kg. Unless I put my stuff in a plastic bag. The purchasing of 23kg was impossible to do online. I chatted with a robot then try to add baggage only to learn that if you purchased ticket via a partner airline you can’t do it online. And of course at the gate it’s like double. I had to call in and waited over 1 hr for a live person to help me at international calling rates.
Slow, convoluted, buggy , intrusive. The app is a drastic improvement over the web site ( i could not even checkin on Lufthansa web site from my ipad), BUT the app is slow , it has counter intuitive user interface , it could not scan my new biometric passport (US) , it still display status of the flight that completed yesterday ( no way to delete it ) , while I have difficulty adding two consequitive flights . There is also excessive and completely unnecessary amount of security checks , this is just an airline , not a freaking bank. Overall idea of the app is excelent , but the interface is convoluted , counterintuitive and buggy. Just discovered that they want to collect my personal information just to submit this review , when submitting from within the application , i am going to submit through app store and give it a one star just for that ( instead of 3 i intended originally )
OK but could be better. The app gets the job done but there are problems with the boarding passes. First, every time the phone locks, the app goes back one screen and you have to click "Show Boarding Pass" again. Second when there are multiple legs on the trip you can swipe back and forth between them but if there are multiple passengers you have to click on the current passenger's name and then choose the other passenger's name from the choice list. That is inconvenient while getting scanned at the gate. And it is too easy to swipe to the wrong leg.
App has bugs and customer service nonexistent. Unable to add Miles & More service card to Apple Wallet even after logging out, deleting the app and reinstalling. I had no problem with Alaska Airline or Delta. Find both the website and the app hard to navigate, unable to find basic information, and the UX/UI designers could learn lessons from any of the companies with a digital footprint in the US. Therefore, I have called a customer service in the US. The rating I would put for that experience is below zero with a person multitasking on another end and therefore unable to hear them. Call #2 started the same way and blaming on a connection on my end. When they finally started to pay attention and started talking into the phone, the connection issue was resolved. Asked for an information that they had to search for, put me on hold, and then they hung up without getting back on the line. It is really a shame bc the flight service, flight attendants and flights are really good.
What the heck is going on with you guys. My wife and specifically chose Lufthansa based on our last flight to Germany that was so enjoyable. This time around it has been the complete opposite. Customer service was rude, dishonest, and even ended the chat mid conversation. I told him my son has an illness and we need to be together and he didn’t care at all. I ended up having to download the app myself after tried on the web to check in with multiple errors. Once the app was installed it kept telling me we couldn’t change seats, until kept picking some and finally it randomly worked. Then my wife got an email that our seats got changed again without us doing anything so we were no longer sitting together. Luckily I was able to change it again, maybe? It’ll probably screw us again. Not sure I ever want to fly with you guys again.

One of the best airlines in the world 🌎 I been flight with Lufthansa since 2012 and no regrets at all is since my son was born in 2017 he also has the pleasure to be part of the Lufthansa family with me and over 1 year ago I bring my husband from Morocco for the first time and he was more than happy to be with Lufthansa he got the best service ever and they made him feel comfortable on his first flight outside of his country for the first time and ones again he is flight Back round trip from us to Morocco and Morocco to USA Today , what a blessing this has been for us and I have directed other friends who travel to Egypt to flight with Lufthansa and they have done it now for 7 years straight ❤️❤️❤️ god bless you all from pilots and flight attendant and all the team on each airport and country that they go will see you next time next summer will beet again ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Quite a bit tedious…. Frequently logs out on its own - when I try to click on the icon and have to log back in again.. Seems I have to input the passport info manually every time I make a reservation even though it shows the info in my personal details… Why is it so difficult to add the United Airlines partnership mileage program to a Lufthansa reservation? It’s absolutely outrageous that seat reservation fees are not refundable even with fully refundable tickets 11 months in advance!! And once you purchase a seat reservation, you cannot change it on the app. You have to call them. Good luck…
App is Not Secure. I accidentally added someone else’s booking number under My Flights in the app, when I intended to only check the flight status. This cannot be corrected anywhere in the app to disassociate the booking from my account - once a booking has been added, it can’t be removed. It’s unclear how I can add someone else’s booking under My Flights and manage all flight details including upgrades, fees, and cancelling the flight - especially since my name does not match the name on the booking. After calling their support line asking for help, I was redirected to a technical support number that’s not open. This is not a secure app and there’s no support to assist with correcting these kinds of issues. If your email is ever hacked and you have a Lufthansa flight confirmation with your name, the hacker can enter your booking details and name into the app without issue and rack up charges on your card, or even disrupt or cancel your flight. This app should not be permitted on the App store as this is a huge breach.
Truly Subpar. The Lufthansa app is truly subpar. When comparing to other airlines like American Airlines, the I app experience is so disappointing. Navigating the app is not intuitive, but you can figure it out. The absolute worst part are all the bugs!!!! Loading flights seems pointless as they drop out of the app a few days later and you have to reload your flights. Then there’s the whole issue on looking at your account statements to track your status. You’re logged out every time, and when you log back in, it shows nothing. Honestly disappointing. I am assuming Lufthansa outsourced the development and maintenance of the app to a low cost center, which is fine but at least ensure that the quality of the app is upheld. Very disappointing from such a big airline.
Stupthansa. I have choice I’d take another airline, I just as thinking theses are smart but really stupid, first of all you arrive to Munich coming from an EU Europe and you a connection flight and you have to check passport, if I was coming from USA I’ll understand, ok no problem after checking passport, you need to check passport again with another long line with stupid people from Lufthansa again forget about the connection flight at end they offer a piece of chocolate inside the flight and want you to give a 5 stars, you deserve 0 star, if I gave two just because a woman helped me inside the airport and she doesn’t work Lufthansa
It’s great to follow your travel plans real time.. The app worked fairly well. Other than my 17-year-old who was traveling abroad alone could not retrieve his boarding pass because the app would not allow his passport ID number to be used I believe because he’s under 18 years of age. The passport number is not like the adults, therefore would not allow him to get a boarding pass on the app. Had to go to the ticket agent in Torino, which was fantastic. And was able to get his boarding pass and get through security to get to his gate. Other than that, what I see is a great app, great airline ,great service.
Why is this so BAD?!!. This has to be the worst airline app on the planet. And I should note that I downloaded this yesterday and haven’t even tried to use it at an airport for check in. This review is based purely on trying to select a seat. - Trying to complete a seat upgrade purchase is an infinity loop of frustration that continues to prompt you to “enter all information” even though you’ve entered ever piece of information possible. - Oh did you book a Premium ticket but that section is full so you want to see seat availability in the main cabin? Good luck. That’s not an option. - Be prepared to get a warning that the app can’t find your reservation because your last name is different from what was used at booking....even when it’s literally the same spelling you booked with and what’s on the Lufthansa website itinerary. - Finally, WHYYYYY am I constantly being prompted to accept cookies within an app?!!! Dear gawd leave me alone.
Rudimentary and Innacurate. This is as much a review of how Lufthansa uses their app as how the app is. It is sparse and clean, with a sleek design, but it often shows inaccurate, misleading, or incomplete information. It is often out of date (for example, notifications like “Boarding starts at. [5 minutes ago]” while you’re still outside the plane and clearly not boarding) or shows different information than what can be seen on airport monitors. And, in contrast to other major carriers, it’s functionality is extremely limited. So… good start, but it really only annoys you with how incorrect it is. I don’t recommend it.
Wrong information. Lufthansa delayed our initial flight and therefore we missed our connection in Frankfurt. The app had the wrong gate listed and it showed that it would take 4 minutes of walking from our arrival gate to our departure gate. Needless to say it was not true. It was almost ½ hour. The flight attendant stated that there are 10 people in our situation and our connecting flight would wait since it was also Lufthansa. Then, the app alerted me that I missed the flight and have the option to reschedule. Of course that function took us to the chat bot which did not work and it indicated I need to talk to a person. The app option to chat to a live person failed. We ended up waiting in line at the service desk in Frankfurt for over an hour since Lufthansa eliminated all the live people and now you have to fumble with the chat bots which don’t work. Fantastic set-up Lufthansa l! and the app devs too.
Slow and annoyingly difficult to use. This app is so slow that it is nearly unusable. Add to that the ridiculous number of times data entry is required to go to the next step. If you are already logged into the app, why should you manually have to add booking reference numbers to see your bookings. That info should already be associated with your account. Similarly, if you are viewing a booking and click on check in, the app then prompts again for the booking reference again. Make absolutely no sense. Another bug i noticed was for notifications. A fill day after arriving at my destination, I received a notification that the gate had changed and the flight was boarding.
Redundancy is not a feature.. Contrary to what the developers of the Lufthansa app believe, redundancy is not a feature that users desire. Why did I need to enter and verify my passport information weeks ago just to do it again at check-in? Did it go out of date?… No! My original information is still stored in my TravelID. If you want me (and your other users) to have a smooth experience, stop making me run around and complete tasks that I have already saved in my account previously! Also, this is as far from a natively mobile experience as things get. This app is just a series of wrappers for the Lufthansa website. Delete this app and conduct your business in Safari! In the past, I’ve had the privilege of choosing Lufthansa to travel to Europe. From now on, I’ll be flying with Oneworld.
Best airline app I’ve tried. I’m not a regular LH traveller as I’m based in a medium haul city that is served by short haul planes, whereas the competition uses more comfortable planes. However I am Currently nearing the end of a trip that had many complications and changes due to COVID, an the app was always keeping me updated of changes, gate changes, luggage status, delays etc The boarding pass updates with new gate numbers etc Excellent app! If I could change one thing: make the check in process a bit faster - the load screen is long...
Terrible app and website/server!. Been trying to reset password for weeks without getting any email, and I have checked all inboxes including junk. Their us 24hr customer service number doesn’t work. Finally got a hold of someone after hours of struggeling. That person told me to fill out a form which require me to fill in my service Id number. I don’t know my Id number because I can’t access my account! The customer rep finally digged up my number and told me that someone would reach out via email manually with a reset link, that was 1 week ago and still no email or reset link! Extremely frustrating! I’m now trying again to reset password after typing in the email 34 times I get an email with a link which is supposed to be valid for 24hrs, when I klick the link 1min later it says expired. Ridiculous. Who can I contact? No signals are going thru for the us customer service number!
Lufthansa theft. Avoid Lufthansa and avoid this app. You can’t actual contact anyone to complain about their booking or service. Lufthansa removed my business seat and won’t refund. I am told to submit a complaint for the error on their website, but their is no form. I can only send an email to customer relations. No good since I am checking in now. They acknowledged their mistake but did nothing. They have my money but didn’t refund. Plus, I have spent hours on the phone complaining, and now have a huge international phone bill because their system auto hangs up after about 30 minutes. We all know they delay resolving the problem so the system will hang up and you have to call back and start over with a new person. I used to fly Lufthansa a lot. Never again. I will fly Air France before I fly this airline. No matter the cost. Horribly run company and the app is useless for getting assistance. Currently, $1200 in the hole. Now I will battle for weeks to get my money back and all I get is,”my apology.” If you can’t execute customer service, close the company and allow others to provide service. Where is Qatar or Etihad airlines when I need them? Recommendation to all, pay more in the beginning with a better airline and avoid spending more later with Lufthansa.
Downgrade, not upgrade. The only upgrade is the look, but you were so ambitious to provide all the possible bells and whistles that you forgot what the main use of the app is. The first time I used it, I almost missed my flight because the “Add booking / Check in” button and the result of the operation made me think I was checked in, when I fact all I had done was just save a booking. The most important functions used by frequent travelers like me are hard to find and not intuitive. You get a one star on user-friendliness and usefulness, dear Product Owner & Development Team. It shows that you don’t fly often. What you wanted, instead, was a fancy look. You succeeded, admittedly, because the look is sleek, but who cares about appearance if functionality is poor?! Fix it!
Can’t even register the app. Can’t write a review for the app itself because I can’t even register to set up the app. I’ve requested the link to reset my password seven times (even though I’ve never set up the app to begin with). The link never comes. Traveling internationally in two days. I’ll have to use their website/phone to do everything I would normally do with an app. Website repeatedly rejects our passports saying they’re invalid. Will have to print boarding passes and confirm flights by phone. I guess I’ll show up at each airport with my travel documents and do everything in person and hope for the best. Not turning out to be a relaxing vacation so far.
You will never see your money... Lufthansa is a scammer company!!!! We used them for so many years and then it went down the hill. We never got our COVID cancelation money back( although they where the ones who canceled). For months and months we were checking and calling to get our credit or money back , never received it…!!! This time with war in Ukraine, the same …would not let us fly to any other closer country,since there is war , didn’t offer any choice to safe our ticket, just said ,” you have to cancel your ticket . Now again, no refund email and no info about money. In general we lost two tickets and not even for our own reasons !! Pretty unfair!!! Do not go with this airline , they will steal from you without any shame!!!
Rubbish. Impossible to download eJournals after check in. Spent nearly an hour trying to retrieve booking in order to download eJournals. Even that I was able to retrieve my booking details, the eJournal option is buried somewhere in a hidden menu and redirected me to an external website (which I already tried before downloading the app for this very same purpose hoping to get a different result). Basically the web cannot recognize my last name and or booking locator for this purpose (while otherwise it works for any other options). Silly that you have to enter your details twice and it won’t even recognize your booking. For Swiss this works perfectly.... Make it simple!
Doesn’t appear to like checking-in with a Green Card. Attempted to add my Passport, Green Card and Known Traveller Number via Manage Booking prior to check-in. Just threw a generic error and the only option was to abandon check in. The support chat bot just threw its hands in the air and told me to book in at the airport- after all the good seats have been taken obviously. Several attempts after check-in had opened (including scanning my Green Card - did that unblock the error?) it allowed me to upload my documents and check-in
App does not show same screens as shown. The App is completely different from what is shown here in screenshots. The App no longer has Filter option, which makes it time consuming to find a flight on Lufthansa flights only. There used to be an option to see seat availability when booking. That is no longer available either regardless of class fare. Why would I want to even go through the booking if I can’t see if seats are next to each other, near by or not? I don’t get why airlines do this in their Apps. Show available seats. It’s not that hard and should not be a secret.
good app but could be better to manage family. family functions: - being able to take care of family members checkin at once instead of having to do this individually for each person traveling - seat assignments — if i have to do this for each family member one by one, no guarantee we will get paid seats next to each other because let’s say i pay for seat selection for myself and then i have to do the same thing for my wife, what if the adjacent seat is taken by somebody else before I do the seat selection for my wife? — somehow miles&more cannot be easily added to profile. and so, have to go thrpugh the painful process of scanning boarding passes to get miles.
Worst travel app I've gotten. I physically cannot deal with this app, it is probably the worst app I've ever encountered, not just for travel, literally in general. When trying to log in I have to do it multiple times, when sending emails it takes around an hour to receive the email, when trying to log in it didn't give me a keyboard to type in responses to log in, so that made the log in process physically impossible. Get rid of that badge or whatever you have when it shows up on the loading screen, this app gives my entire family including me extreme frustrations and it's entirely unusable to me and I have a flight in 2 days. Work on it
Wonderful. We want to take a moment and thank you for the wonderful service and flight your company provided. We flew out of LAX to Madrid, then flew back from Milan, MAL to LAX. All connecting flights were in time; create choices of movies on business class. The head phones were broken but the crew attempted to accommodate me. The food was amazing as well. Bravo to the crew and the whole company. I honestly cannot wait to fly with Lufthansa again: My whole family felt the same.
Surprisingly poorly designed & ineffective. Given that as an airline Lufthansa is consistently well-run and has a high standard of quality with their operations & service, the functionality of this app comes as quite surprise. It is so problematic with the most basic tools, such as: a log-in process that is clear & quick, retaining booking information, providing accurate updates, allowing for quick/easy access to boarding docs, allowing for a simple, streamlined check-in process, and making sure passport docs are saved properly…& that is just the most obvious stuff. It would serve Lufthansa well to revamp this app, and perhaps study in detail the features and functionality of other airline apps.
Very satisfied customer but…... I have always had an amazing experience with Lufthansa and that’s why I keep coming back even for my leisure travel! My trip this time was from Joburg to Frankfurt arrived early hours of the morning at around 5am! It was a great flight… amazing crew! My only concern is the inflight entertainment is very cumbersome with the remote controller locked into the side of the seat and having to open and close to operate it! Of most disappointment was the treatment by the mobility assistance representative on arrival at Frankfurt. She ushered a group of us aggressively to the elevator to get a shuttle ( I requested a wheelchair because I am mobility challenged) and she said “ this is not Africa this is Germany you have to move fast”! I informed her that her remark was inappropriate and that she has no clue what disabilities we have that impair us from running to the elevator! Other members of the group ( non-African, mostly German) were in agreement with my statement! Another thing I noticed is that the little amenities bag has become sparse and lacking in the pampering items one needs on a long flight! I am a loyal Lufthansa flyer so I mention the aforementioned in good faith!
Didn’t work for me. Their app, like the rest of their IT infrastructure, is unreliable. To solve my most recent problem, a simple flight change, I tried the app which gave me some generic error. I then tried the website which also failed with a similar error. Then I tried their online chat and exchanged a few messages before it went completely dark. I waited for 20+ minutes and heard nothing halfway through the conversation. I then finally tried the phone and talked to a really good customer service person who was helpful but told me that the charge was $320 to change one leg of a flight. Just rebooking the same flight on Lufthansa’s website cost me a little over $200. I thought the days airlines trying to screw you on any change were over. Just a terrible experience overall with Lufthansa.
Worst airline app. The Lufthansa app is one of the worst airline apps I've used. It is slow, clunky, and incredibly frustrating. Basic tasks like checking in, accessing boarding passes, or managing bookings are needlessly complicated, with constant glitches and crashes. The user interface feels outdated and unintuitive, making navigation a chore. Notifications are either delayed or non-existent, so you can easily miss important updates. The worst part is the app's unreliability—I've been locked out of my account multiple times for no reason, and customer support through the app is unhelpful. It’s shocking that such a large airline has such a poorly designed and unreliable app.
Horrible experience. The app is only able to do the basic functions: but a ticket, show a ticket. When I needed to use this app to rebook a canceled flight it failed. Completely. Lufthansa phone support sends me to the chatbot, the chatbot sends me to Lufthansa support. The app shows alternative flights as available even when they are not available. No intelligible error handling. This could be a great tool to help travelers solve problems instead makes things worse. Lufthansa should ask United for help. The United app handles advanced rebooking notifications and allows selection of alternative flights properly.
Worst app. Lufthansa is lousy.. The Lufthansa app is the poorest performing app. None of my past nor upcoming flights show. No ability to checkin. I tried the app, the internet, and even the chat feature (a joke). Called Lufthansa and the representative could not assist me and directed me to call another number for assistance checking in. That number was for internet issues and was closed as it was Saturday. I called again and was told I would need to checkin in person. Mind you, this was all the result of Lufthansa canceling my connecting flight WHILE I WAS MID-AIR flying from Venice to Frankfurt. The connecting flight from Frankfurt to EWR was cancelled last minute due to a “staffing shortage.” They rebooked for the next day meaning my flights home from EWR to Colorado were impacted (separate ticket) so now I’m stuck paying an additional $603 to rebook my flight home from EWR to Colorado.
Slow, no attention to user flow... but it works. I have been using this app for years on a variety of iOS devices and networks thinking they would address some basics... but they just don’t. Constantly logs you out even after selecting keep me logged in. Takes 7 to 15 seconds to login and then drops you to a useless navigation page even if you have existing bookings, a boarding pass and even when the flight is imminent. “Save this info for later” checkbox is just ignored. Have to enter passport info every time regardless of the selection... even when referring to the SAME booking. No predictable persistence. There is zero logic to recognize you already have a flight booked. No logic to recognize the reason you are likely in the app is to engage with the flight that is currently boarding. So you tap “my bookings” and wait another 7-15 seconds to show that “yes. there is a booking from here to there.”, but no times or flight numbers, so you tap the booking and FINALLY get to some relevant information for your upcoming flight. 30-40 seconds of delay EVERY TIME you want to check that booking. Pro tip.. Screenshot that page and just use images, but Lufthansa should be embarrassed expecting their app users to do this. This lack of understanding what people might be using the app for is consistent throughout all usability. It persists very little information in the app so it is constantly making very slow requests back to the server for information that is not so volatile. (Like booked flights) In the end... it has all the abilities and that is great, but it is slow with odd user flows. Not made for the traveler. They could learn a ton from reviewing some other apps like their StarAlliance parter United. United is not the best app, but gets you to relevant information faster than the Lufthansa solution.
Could be better. The entire Lufthansa system could use a do-over. On the plus side, my tickets for a family of four showed up in the app and could be scanned at the gate, security, and customs. On the down side, entering passport information is a complete fail; I was only successful on the website ON MY PHONE. Very frustrating all around. The info I put in for my flight to Europe was not copied to my return flights and it all had to be entered again. Also, my Miles account never showed my flight information, I could only see the flights logged in at Lufthansa.

One of the better airline apps.. Easy to use and does what it says it does. You can find boarding passes easily. Definitely one of the easiest airline apps I’ve used, and I have used a few.
Ok but missing location PRN. Great app but does not support flights to Pristina (PRN). I always fly Lufthansa and have to make my bookings online as mobile app does not offer PRN as a location.

Malpensa. Today, Lufthansa lost 400 pieces of baggage. Planes left Frankfurt with no bags on and they didn’t tell anyone. Now you cannot speak to them, or find out where your bags are. What a monumental stuff up ! Need I say more.
Lufthansa app. App provides the typical requirements for a frequent flyer type app. Intuitive layout hence easy to navigate.
Woeful. Too easy to make mistakes that you can't recover from. In the chat function the icon to end the chat is just above the entry field and if you accidentally touch it, it logs you straight out. There is no function to save the chat dialogue as there is with other airlines. The operators can't see the previous chat info so you have to start from the beginning. The operators can't or won't see the chatbot dialogue so you have to start from the beginning. When checking in if you miss the field about adding another person, which shouldn't be there anyway, it should be automatic, you are told that another person has to check in but it won't display them. You have to do this via the web page.

Useless. The app doesn’t retain bookings made through the app. After the recent update I can’t even make a booking when logged in, but they spend time and effort describing the ‘benefits’ of creating a profile — which are what other than collecting personal data?? Did I say useless?

Fields are reversed!. When selecting multi stop flight, the flights displayed are in reverse order! (Flight 1 cities are in flight 2 and vice versa!)
Boarding pass in apple wallet. One small thing with your boarding pass in the Apple wallet is that some of the most important information (gate, group and seat) font is so small you can’t read it at all. The cabin crew on board also mentioned it to me saying so many people can’t read it - maybe worth a redesign?
Top app. Excellent app plenty of detail and everything you need to know and access about your flight
Inconsistent. The app knows about my upcoming travel and shows it to me using auto login to Lufthansa site. But if I want to change anything, it requires me to enter booking number manually (the one it just showed me on "upcoming" page)

Barely ever works. This app barely ever lets you log in. So much for German reputation.
Easy boarding although flight overbooked. Due to announcements of an overbooked aircraft there was a mad rush to board and those queuing orderly where pushed aside whist those at the rear of the queue jumped forward. Some boarding passes of these people did not allow admittance due to them trying to jump their boarding slot. We eventually got on board, but the incident was of some concern

Bugs. If you can’t be bothered to update your software then don’t even have an app! It took me 7 attempts to log in, once you have logged in; system error - You session has expired, please log in again in order to proceed! I must admit, this is by far one of worse airlines app!
Dear. Really a stand out how friendly the staff is at the Bremer airport. From check in to customs and airline staff are all very friendly and accomodating. This is not happening at airports around the world to this degree anymore. We have had a very pleasant experience. Thank you 😃

Worst ever airline + app. You should always have expected your flight would be changed. You can't rely on the app information. You must call the call center to ensure the app data is updated, correct, and final.
Amazing App. It is one of the easiest and helpful application ever used for me.
Very good but could but faster. Notified me immediately when I was rebooked because of delays—which was great, but was surprisingly slow for check in (loading time is long between steps).
Liars. Lufthansa management doesnt care about people. If your flights gets cancelled last minute due to their top management inability to address their employees demands - you will regret choosing to fly with them, as they will not be there for you and you will be stuck. More than that - they dont respond for months and months when you request refund.
Require account. It requires creating an account before being able to check in for a flight. This is unacceptable (it didn’t before) Looks like a GDPR violation.

Please help me if anyone knows where to escalate this below issue to their higher authority Muhsina fathima Booking ID 2LNTIF 25th april Lufthansa LH-4405) Dear Sir ], I am writing to formally file a complaint regarding the unacceptable treatment I received during my recent flight with Lufthansa on April 25th, 2024, from Calgary to Dubai via Frankfurt. My booking reference is 2LNTIF Upon arrival at the airport at 1 pm, I encountered several issues that significantly impacted my travel experience, particularly as I was traveling with my one-month-old baby. Firstly, upon presenting my passport and documents, I was informed by the staff that I needed to show a return ticket. Despite promptly booking one online and providing the details, I was made to wait for 45 minutes with no assistance, only to be told that there was an issue entering details from Frankfurt due to a mistake from Dubai’s side. This delay caused unnecessary stress and inconvenience. Furthermore, I was assured by the staff member that my bassinet seat had been allocated and that I simply needed to collect my boarding pass. However, upon boarding the flight, I was directed to a regular seat in the middle of a row, despite explicitly requesting a bassinet facility seat due to my health issues post-delivery. The cabin crew member I approached regarding this matter displayed a lack of empathy and failed to assist me adequately. Despite my desperate situation, with my baby crying and feeling overwhelmed, the crew member simply apologized and did not make any effort to rectify the situation. This experience was not only distressing but also unacceptable, as it compromised the safety and comfort of both myself and my infant. As a paying customer, I expected better treatment and assistance from the airline staff. Therefore, I kindly request a thorough investigation into this matter and appropriate action to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future. Additionally, I would appreciate compensation for the inconvenience and distress caused during this ordeal. I look forward to your prompt response and resolution of these issues. Lufthansa is an amazing airline. This was my first time to travel on Lufthansa, and it was an amazing journey!
Missed flight. Missing flights is part of flying, I realize that but to have a Lufthansa plane land 40 minutes late and then have someone not take us to the gate when we have 40min to make it was ridiculous. My father is a senior and needed special help. Luckily, Chun was there, and was marvellous in helping us book a flight the next day. Lufthansa’s staff is wonderful for the most part but the organizational skills need tremendous work. you could’ve saved a lot of money and travellers stress with just some better communication. Scam!. Worse experience with purchasing through this app! I purchased a two-way ticket from the app. One way was not refundable, but the return flight was refundable. For some safety reasons, I had to cancel my flight. Then I got nothing returned. Representative told me that a combination of non-refundable and refundable flight will be non-refundable! That is the Lufthansa rule mentioned on our website! However not on the app! So, basically you are purchasing your ticket spending a few thousand bucks on a app that does not show up many hidden rules! I ended up loosing $4000 and I think this is enough to hate Lufthansa and specifically their App forever!
Absolute disappointment. Impossible to get e-boarding passes if you are booked with another Star Alliance company, but you have the shared code with Lufthansa. It goes a few steps and then it refers to a technical issue in the app. The chat function is totally useless.

Problems with check in. This app will not allow you to check in if you booked ( e.g. through Expedia) with only your first and last name. It needs to include any middle names you have on your passport or won’t let you in.
Glitchy and horrid to navigate.. App is not good. Glitchy. When you select something and then want to go back it take you to a completely different page and then the option you originally selected disappears.
Every thing about it is very bad. I will never use this airline they are very bad from the app to the people at the airport. Does the airplanes to the way how they treat customer everything is bad about them. I will not recommend them for anybody.

The seating in business could be softer. The seating arrangement was a bit better going to FR with Air Canada.
Germans being discriminatory as usual. Nasty German Lufthansa employee thought I was American, kept making nasty comments and made me check my bag claiming it was too large. I was singled out and treated differently because Lufthansa hates Americans, and I’m not even American. Stay away from this awful discriminatory company!
Shockingly bad. Beyond frustrating. Try checking flight status or access boarding passes… should be easy, but an endless loop of frustration.

The calendar is bugged pls fix. The calendar in app clearly has issues when I select a date it saves as a previous date. Then I had to actually select a day before to save the proper date … pls fix

A truly self service App. Traveling internationally from Munich to India, I was able to put in my passport and visa information and voila I got my boarding pass. I wasn’t checking any baggage so I was able to avoid all lines and go straight to security. Absolutely loved the process!
Always up to date just a little slow to load. I love that the app keeps my data when I tell it to keep it. I don’t have to reload information that I need for every flight. The app is also great at pulling in all my LH bookings no matter how they were booked. None of my other airline apps manage that. Only thing that could be improved is the speed at which the app goes from one page to the next.
Remains the worst of the worst flying App. I was hoping that with the new Lufthansa account everything would get better, but it just got worse. Not only does the App not safe the data of me and my husband and makes me enter them over and over again. The App does also discriminate against women. I booked the flights on my name, with my account. But my husband is named as the primary traveler with my email and phone data. And there is nothing I can do to change it. Looks like I have no choice but still have to go to the counter for check in. Very disappointing.
Horrible experience. The app is only able to do the basic functions: but a ticket, show a ticket. When I needed to use this app to rebook a canceled flight it failed. Completely. Lufthansa phone support sends me to the chatbot, the chatbot sends me to Lufthansa support. The app shows alternative flights as available even when they are not available. No intelligible error handling. This could be a great tool to help travelers solve problems instead makes things worse. Lufthansa should ask United for help. The United app handles advanced rebooking notifications and allows selection of alternative flights properly.
Balky, cumbersome, incomplete. Doesn’t allow easy access/switching between multiple trips. Doesn’t allow easy checkin/seat changes from trips. Bad flight information updates and gate assignments/changes. Doesn’t allow rebooking for delayed/canceled flights. Glitches in producing passes on multiple passenger records. Bad organization of options on home screen making it more cumbersome to do the most common tasks. Web support only during limited east coast business hours M-F
Lufthansa numerous delays and added stress. While the Lufthansa app has been very timely in sending us flight updates, the flights themselves have been delayed non stop causing so many inconveniences and unnecessary stress. This was very unexpected as Lufthansa is said to have a good reputation but after today’s experience I can safely say it is very similar to Air France which based on popular opinion is really one of the most unreliable airlines. For future travels I will try to avoid booking on Lufthansa. That being said, thank you for the timely messages !
Most recent update, can’t get past the login screen. I’m in the middle of my transatlantic trip, in fact I am returning in less than to days, and the app won’t move past the login screen no matter how many times I log in, or whether I do with my Lufthansa number or email. I have a password manager and so forgetting the login info is not the issue here. Incredibly frustrating as I need to check in for my flight tomorrow. I uninstalled the app and reinstalled it hoping it would take care of the issue, but alas, not so. What on Earth is going on???
Visa entries and Known Traveler Information capture not working. The app does work well for booking and flight status information in general, but once you start capturing all your detailed information, including Passport data, Visa information, Known Traveller ID, etc. it’s buggy as it could be. It asks for all data and shows on the form screen that everything was entered correctly, and as soon as you hit Save, you get error messages. Very painful when you go through the process with a family of four (4) twice only to find out the software simply does not work. UGH!
It’s not your error. It’s ours.. For a two years or so I’m greeted with above error message when I try to check-in. I don’t have the most typical documentation, but it’s not exactly unheard of either. First they forget all data that I put in my prior attempts, make look up the info and then it fails again. They can’t even remember my trusted traveler number. At this point I’m so annoyed that I’m debating flying different airlines only because I can NEVER check-in myself with the app. And at the counter they told me to just put in the data incorrectly so it works. Seriously.
So simple and easy!. From flying with many commercial airlines, Lufthansa has been the best. It’s almost as though there is someone next to you walking step by step through your travels. It brings much comfort when I fly with Lufthansa. Lots of time and effort has gone into this and I appreciate it very much! -An American traveler
Not great. Worst airline app I have seen. Allows seat selection then resets it after a few hours, If I can’t select seats then why not say so at the start? Then on return flight after I input all my info(which they had from outward flight) then says they can’t check in online, no reason. The address was a trick question, don’t type it it won’t work…. You need to input a few letters and select from drop-down. Keeps resetting my phone number to Canada. Not great…
JD. Very frustrating app. Frequently crashes or freezes up. Says I have 4 boarding passes for each of 2 flights, but displays only 1 for one flight. On Home Page, can’t scroll down to get to Feedback - just resets immediately to top of list. When I select something in list, just goes back to Home page. Says I don’t have connectivity to Internet, but I do, and when I try again, it works. I have used many other airline apps with great success. This is the first time I am flying Lufthansa and using their app and so far it’s not going too well.
Absolutely the worst app I have ever used!. This app never works! Just goes round and round in circles when you enter your login information. To add, this has been going on for at least couple of years since I’ve started using it. Nobody seems to care or wants to fix it. So sad for a pretty good airline to have an awful app and not care to make it work! It doesn’t stop here because when you go on desktop/laptop computer it still has issues. Also, they make it very confusing to choose if one would use Lufthansa or Miles&More app!
Confusing. Useless for checking in, but it does waste a lot of your time trying to reset a password. I always have to end up checking in at the airport in person. What’s the purpose of an app? Yep used to be good prior to the pandemic. Now I get the messages in German difficult to find the English translations. And they require scanning of Covid vaccination documents. I can’t find the place where to scan it the directions are in German. I will start beginning to fly United or another carrier. Very disappointing. sorry but the app is making me choose a different airline carrier. What a loss of a poorly designed app.
The worst airline. Literally the worst airline company I’ve ever had the displeasure of dealing with in my entire life. Gate change and delay after delay after delay. Couldn't pick my seats on the 6 flights I had with them in a single trip. I would rather ride a spiked bat with no shorts on 4000 miles before trusting this monstrosity of an airline to get me to my destination ever again. Their customer service workers are like Ken Dolls from the Barbie movie except instead of their job being beach they just can’t be bothered with a single simple function.
Worst airline app. I am a frequent traveler and a great admirer of Lufthansa . But who designed this terrible app ? You have to register to use it , no provision for access otherwise ( a case of we have ways of making you register! ) no provisions made for guests like all other major airlines . Once you are in what a nightmare ..bombarded by information in poorly laid out formats . The website is no better . Difficulty in making a reservation is the main reason I cannot fly with Lufthansa
Partially useful App. While Lufthansa in general is a great airline to fly with, their app doesn’t add much service. Want to select a seat for your flight? Only available during check-in (as guest). Want to check in on your mobile phone or tablet for your flight? Only getting error messages even after multiple tries. Online check-in worked finally with a browser on a PC though. Other than that, it gives the usual information that a typical airline app has.
What’s the point of the app?. Nothing on the app works. You can’t see the seat map as it errors out. You have seats on the boarding pass, but not in the app. Upgrades? Nope... nothing to see here. Amenities... your guess is as good as anyone’s as they aren’t visible. You can log in 3 different ways, but none of them are the email address you used to create the account. Just horrible! If this is how they treat their customers (you don’t need information), this will be my last Lufthansa flight, and I’m 1k in United, their partner airline. Lufthansa is not worth the hassle of not knowing anything about the flight.
Thank you. We loved traveling to Greece . We will travel Lufthansa every time we fly . All the employs from San Diego to Athens Greece were amazing . My husband needed wheelchair assistance . The attendant was waiting for us. Our trip was enjoyable and stress free. I will highly recommend Lufthansa to all my friends and relatives . Thank you so much. We left San Diego August 29 th arriving in Athens August 31st. Perfect trip.
Glitzy. I have uploaded my travel documents three times and it still kept asking me to upload, never mind that I already have stored everything on the app! So frustrating! I finally went on my MacBook Pro and redid everything— that’s how I got my boarding pass. I am now waiting for my boarding but decided to check my boarding pass. It’s nowhere to be found! Good thing I had it emailed to me! Traveling is stressful enough! I don’t need unnecessary added stress! Good thing I use Lufthansa very infrequently!
Pamela Bazzell. I paid for business class and the seat was broken, and would not lay out so I could sleep! I told a flight attendant and three of them came over but could not fix it! They could not move me bc the flight was full! No more available business class seats! Now they have lost my luggage!!! I came from Dallas to Tel Aviv and I have NO luggage!!!
Lufthansa customer service. I used to fly so many times with Lufthansa and i was always impressed and pleased about their service. Lately (past 3 years) they become from worse to worse. Unfortunately this is will be my last flight with them because of the customer service they have. I called twice in regards of my upcoming trip and every time the customer service rep was treated me like i should apologize for calling them, at least this is how i feel. Too it used to be a respectful company but not anymore!
Best travel companion on LH flights. Before I installed this app, I had a habit of printing out everything (all info) for my flight. Since I have istalled the app - I don’t remember if I ever lost the track of any details. It saved me from a lot of trouble few times. It is always spot on for gate info, easy to navigate, has all what I need for my travels. Download boarding passes before you lose connectivity though!
Utter piece of crap. You cannot create an account due to an unknown error. You can create an account online and login there. But even with those credentials you cannot login with the app due to “The combination of the entered login and password is wrong.” No it’s not. Further clouding this whole setup is that you can create an account on Lufthansa directly or you can create an account via Miles and More. In fact, when I first went to Lufthansa it redirected me to Miles and More but then on the second attempt it did not redirect. Pretty obvious that no one on the dev team performs any serious amount of testing.
The worst way to book Lufthansa. You’re better off using a third party, this app was developed either by (1) Interns or (2) A good firm on a shoestring budget [I do this kind of stuff for a living and this is atrocious]. I’ve spent 2 hours trying to book a flight and every single time it errors out at some point in the process. Randomly asks me for captcha (you’re moving too fast ... duh, because I’ve done the entire process 6 times now!) and randomly log you out (“You’ve been inactive for 20 minutes” ... Um, no, I haven’t been) This makes me wonder if Lufthansa actually wants me as a customer still...
Horrible airlines. I don’t usually write a review, but lufthansa airlines absolutely garbage , horrible service I lost my flight connection, because LH421 was sitting in the airport for 2 hours , now they made my flight to the final destination about 28 hours so tired no sleep at all, Update: on my way back Lufthansa cancelled my flight 3time i had to buy another ticket with different airline with my own money, absolutely bad experience and horrible customer service i did request a refund they ignore me and they hang up the phone on me . THE TICKET THAT I BOUGH TO GET BACK WAS EXPENSIVE. DONT RECOMMEND THIS AIRLINES GROUP
App has been so bad for so long now I want to quit this airline. I am a 1K member and travel quite frequently. I have started trying to avoid the Lufthansa flights where I can because the process of traveling, or trying to check in, or managing reservations has been maddening between the app and the website. They are never in sync. And more than half of a dozen times, when I try to check in the app or website crashes. And what’s awful about that is it’s typically after Ive gone into a bunch of screens and have entered a bunch of information
App is buggy. Have been delayed 3 times at CPH to FRA. I trying to figure out rights of passengers and contact an agent there is no place on app to do so easily. The app provided on meal voucher of 6USD or 45DKK to one passenger but not all on the flight. The app will not allow me to check my inbox without giving a review so therefore here is my review on the app. Perhaps appdev should look at obtaining organic feedbacks instead of forcing some one how is delayed and stuck in an airport. They may get better and actual feed back that would better the app experience for all.
Stupid design. The app complicates everything. I remember when it took seconds to check in on international flights. Now, it takes an hour and still is full of errors. Traveling between the US and Germany is especially frustrating. It doesn’t handle dual citizenship. It doesn’t remember passport and known traveler numbers. I am a UA Million miler and have no interest in using Miles&More. Who ever designed it needs a different job. Once checked in, the notifications work which is the better part of the app.
Flight canceled.. Our flight was canceled and we were notified via the app. We tried calling the hotline but the line was busy. When we used the app chat services, they were able to quickly reroute our flight free of charge. Thanks to our representative Bailey for the great customer service. This app saved pur holiday. John
Check process in Zurich. The checking process in Zurich is so unorganized. First, there was no large signage indicating where to check in for Lufthansa. After walking all over the area and asking people who worked in the airport, where to go, we finally found someone who could help. This now meant walking a very long distance to another area of the airport (section 1). We then couldn’t find what to do before we realized the checkin was under the Swiss Air banner. In small letters, it displayed Lufthansa. The signage for those who don’t speak German is horrible.
Baggage not updating or listed clearly. I would give it 5 stars if it wasn’t for the fact it doesn’t show the status of baggage like it says. Or it’s not easy to find. It may not be the app, maybe the Lufthansa system not updating. I got message they received my baggage after I did a self drop. That was all. Never another update. I had a connecting flight and was worried since no update.
Organized. The categories are very well organized. From the day before check-in (terminal, counter numbers…), boarding, to baggage claim, every step is clearly displayed with details. There are no confusing choices like some other airlines.
What a tragically sad application!. This is a tragically bad application, considering Lufthansa is supposed to be a good airline. Slow, convoluted and timing out sessions on MY PHONE "to protect me" but my Miles and More acct stays logged in (so, you can still get to data, just with even more clicks and NO LOGGING IN AGAIN). Why the timeout in the first place? Baggage information is hidden like someone's life depended on that, good luck finding out what your actual checked baggage allowance is. Help menu is a JOKE! And the mile long form one had to fill out for any request is literally insultingly long to prevent people from actually asking for help.
Get ready for frustration. Lufthansa is very disappointing with this application. Delta or Southwest are much more user friendly. Show my trips right away. Why should you dig into the app to find it. Same thing for the check in. To top it off, there are several ways to check in, one of them ask for your confirmation. Come on, this is the app you’re logged in. The system should know that. And after checking, you have to do an extra step to get the boarding pass. Lufthansa, you can do better than that.
Terrible error codes. Please hire a copywriter and ux designer to write your error messaging, it’s nonsensical. I have to try everything I can think of because all you say I. The error text is you couldn’t complete the step when really it’s something like I already have an account or I need a different number, or the number hasn’t propagated in your system
Worse than using a web browser. The app seems to be mainly an interface to the Lufthansa website. But it is worse because a regular web browser would at least remember my login, whereas by using this app, it asks me to login every time I habe not used it for a few days. Also, I cannot even seem to use it to look up past bookings. Terrible user experience. Update after reply from LH: Logging in with m&m. Also had to login for both the regular and the MM areas separately even though I use the same credentials in both. Tried again just now. This time I didn't have to re-login. But it happened several times in the past three weeks. Showed that I have two notifications, but tapping the menu item did nothing. Did then force quit the app. Now the notifications appear. If there was a choice to remember the login I sure would have checked it. But don't remember seeing one.
Freedom flights. The Lufthansa App allows the user to book/ look up a trip, upgrade seats, connect with Miles & More & there’s a upload a playlist version too. There should be Reminder Tips that Lufthansa Staff is there to assist you. Use minimum devices & gadgets at Airports & during travel. Avoid use of internet. Rely on Staff & Paper tickets too. Take Travel Tips as you have to fly across Countries & perhaps, Continents too.
The app and website deserve zero star !. This is such a shame for big air company to have so terrible app and website. You never know when and how ‘something went wrong’. This message you are going to receive constantly even though you make the simplest operation (like booking or editing your profile and btw no matter you put into profile app is going to use old data ). Simply forget about using your miles you always will get an error. Meanwhile Austrian airline’s website is nice and reliable.
pathetic webview version forcing you to give out personal data. The update worsened things. At first start it asks if i want to manage personal data or do it later. Selecting first option the app brings you to the initial screen with 2 options instead of 3: login or register. Regardless if i terminate at this point app or not, I NEVER can get back 3rd option that allows me to bypass registration. So if i click Register, appears again pitiful webview screen where exactly HALF of the screen is blocked by Accept/Manage "data stealing" dialog(cookie crap). By clicking "Manage data stealing" button the app hangs totally. Termination helps as well as deleting forever.
Unable to Check Flight Status. Update: I tried checking the ETA of some flights today. It is working now. Thanks. Whenever I go to check an ETA or ATA, I get a message to check my internet connection. But my connection seems to be good for everything but this. Need to fix a few bugs...
Luggage. The airline employees are excellent! The comfort of the plane is good. I started my travel without checked baggage for ease of travel. In the end the airline picked me out to check my bag. Two previous experiences with Luftansa my bags were checked and both delayed at my inconvenience by hours. This is not the service I paid for, extremely disappointed again. Third rate app by a third rate airline. This is the most basic rudimentary airline app that’s out there. Makes me believe that it some common app that multiple airlines share with white labeling. Every task is a long set of steps and has no consideration for the family traveling etc. every person has to go through it sequentially. Customer service is curt and useless, with audacity to blame it back on user error. They need to learn from some of the US airlines on how to make it user friendly but it ain’t the culture of the organization.
How can airline apps be this bad in 2022. Downloaded the app for an upcoming trip as I wanted to add details to my calendar. Most other airline apps have a function to do this but evidently not this one. While looking at my booking it said a schedule change occurred and I need to acknowledge it but provided no direction to how to do this. I tried the support button but it directed me to a page that no longer exists. I then tried calling and the initial voice message says to use the app for all things booking as there is a long wait time…
Mess up. I booked a flight San Francisco to Madrid via Munich business class. Got phone while out of town stating flight sfo to Munich was cancelled and over the phone I got the reroute. I had to fly to Frankfurt short turn around made even shorter by the confusion over wheel chairs. I’m. 80 and had been told it was a long way to change terminals. Finally got to the gate as they were boarding. I had a 6 hour 20 minute layover in Munich and was booked into economy. I made numerous phone calls to Lufthansa to no avail. So my 16 hour flight turned into nearly 24 hours. I checked the the original flight was not cancelled Thanks Lufthansa
The app is going from terrible to worse. I recommend Lufthansa to fire the entire team creating this app and hire real programmers. On iPhone it is impossible to add frequent traveler card number of miles and more during check in. Selection window opens either completely off screen or is just cut in half so you can not select miles and more. 😱😱🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤭 Why is this not done automatically anyway? I am logged in using miles and more account. Every time I must reenter my IDs/Passports/Visas. Why is this not done automatically from prefilled data in settings? 😱 When you checkin two travelers on a same flight but with different booking codes you can pass the checkin process for both but the travel documents are available only for one. 🤦♂️ Come on Lufthansa you can certainly do waaaaay better…
Kinks around corners. Useful app, gives weird error messages when signed out, for example “could not find your booking”. Takes a while to realize there was another small print about being signed out. If booking search is pre-conditioned by being signed in, don’t search at all and prompt the user to log in first.
Lufthansa group and mobile app. I must say, everything about the Lufthansa group is a great experience. Their attention to the little things. They ask about my wife when I visit the lounge. They reach out to me to ensure my experience is good. The app is easy to use. Although when flying Swiss booked through Lufthansa ( my normal international route is Munich to Boston then return Boston to Zurich ). The app does not update on my Lufthansa mobile app easily baggage tag information. I understand the competitive nature of this industry and as a result less quality food and beverage offers. But, the Lufthansa lounges are still top notch.
Most user unfriendly of all!. Of all airline apps, and I use several, this is the most non-intuitive of them all! It does not give your receipts handily even when signed in. Frankly, it matched my recent unpleasant experience where Lufthansa couldn’t find all my baggage receipts I paid online ahead of time them forced me to pay 2 1/2 times more at the counter. The counter agents in Miami were more interested in chatting among themselves than helping me anyway. They were also woefully uninformed on Germany’s COVID policy that had been revised 5weejs previously. Just avoid the hassles and go through another airline if you can!
Worst airline in the world. I flew Lufthansa for years. I travel about 3-4 times a year internationally for vacations and business trips. Never once the flight was on time. I understand the air traffic and all the rules and regulations that they have to follow. I understand because other airlines do have delays and cancellations but the other airlines are much better being puntual. They give poor excuses and kick passengers off from the airplanes because of the poor weather conditions. Never gives out warnings. It is the worst airline.
