Great app!. Since the recent update, the letters are not rearranged according to the previous typed word. This really throws me off my time. Also could you please come out with a paid version of Word Warp so that I don’t have to see an ad every time I finish a game? I’ve been waiting for several years for you to ‘update’ this app so that I can pay for the app instead of making it free but bombarding you with ads. I was very disappointed that you did update the app but still didn’t have the option of paying for the app. Kathy Ruell

One huge new glitch. I have had this game on my iPods, iPads, and iPhones for over 10 years, and it has been one of my most-played games. Since I got my iPhone 12, however, there has been a glitch that has bumped the game from 5+ stars down to 3. I often play Word Warp when I wake up in the night, so I am lying down while playing. I play in Portrait mode. If, however, I tilt the phone, especially between rounds, the game board moves off the top of the screen so that all I can see is the three buttons for Warp, Last, and Got It, plus the End button. I tried just waiting to see if it would correct its self but apparently the timer is running, because after the set time has elapsed, it ends the game, as I have been unable to make any words. The alternative is to end the game. This has happened several times now. There is no setting to allow me to play only in portrait mode, which is disappointing. When this happens after one or two rounds, it is annoying, but when I have played 7 or 8 (or more) it is infuriating. Please fix, so I can get back to playing one of my favorite games!

You ruined it. I’ve been using this app for over a decade and have loved it until now. The latest release is awful - the interface is more klunky. The font is too large, and there are no settings options to reduce the font display size. And it now takes two or three touches to select a letter to be included in the word you’re creating - it’s like the label of the letter block is misaligned or too small or something. Also, the algorithm for how the selectable letters display after you enter a word is different - can’t put my finger on it, but whatever my “muscle memory” was used to is not working the same way anymore. An app I used to look forward to as a break between demands on my time is no longer fun. You ruined it.

Used to be a great game. Played Word Warp regularly for years until it was upgraded this week. First, it kept crashing. Plus, I can’t shrink the screen on the iPhone version anymore. Worst is the loss of touch sensitivity. You must be deliberate in tapping the letters or else they won’t be chosen, which really slows down the game because your word ends up having missing letters and you have to renter it more carefully. Also, the ads have become very annoying because there is one after every game and they are longer than it takes to play the game. You can’t close and reopen the game to clear the ad. It’s been a good run, but I deleted Word Warp. I’m looking for a new word game like Word Warp used to be - simple, clean interface without a lot of graphics, ads, music, in-app purchases, increasing levels, required multiplayer, or other annoyances. I’m willing to pay for a good game. I’ve been looking at best IOS word game reviews, and so far none grab me.

They’ve ruined a good game. I’ve played Word Warp every day for years. It’s an enjoyable, challenging, and mind-sharpening game. Over the last two days, it has changed dramatically. On the one time I’ve been able to get it to work, the interface had lost it’s simple class. The letters were suddenly very large and in a font that made them almost hard to read. On that one time, an ad ran before and after the game. An ad had previously never run before playing a game. But worst of all, I’ve only been able to get it to work that one time. Every other time the game has crashed when I’ve tried to play it. My phone’s iOS is current, and I’ve tried restarting the phone, but it still crashes every time. They’ve taken a game I thoroughly enjoyed playing, and destroyed it.

Trouble with game since updated. This was one of my favs but now I am having trouble with it since it was updated. The score sometimes gets stuck so it doesn’t add - it just stays on the same score after each round. I tried shutting it down and turning my phone off, but still having problems. Please fix this! Also, buttons are less sensitive so sometimes have to tap them a couple of times for it to register. Would like to see the app return to moving the letters into the order of the last guess rather than the letters being fixed until the next shuffle. This was a great game- with a few changes, it could be great again!

So sick of ads after each game session!. I couldn’t agree more with the reviewer who stated they are sick and tired of all the advertisements after 99.9% of each game. That said, I have enjoyed Word Warp for years....I am actually up to 48,000,000. However, again, there are times I am ready to quit playing because of all the ads. Even though, sometimes, you are offered the opportunity to “skip the ad”, it still takes 5 seconds of waiting to do so. I would recommend to Word Warp management, if you don’t want to discourage new (and less patient) players from remaining on this app, REMOVE THE ADS!!! Or at least consider only showing them every 10th game?!!! I have talked to several of my friends and family whom I recommended Word Warp.....and they have quit Word Warp simply due to all the advertising....and moved on to other games. I have to admit I have grown weary of the underwear ads that “enhance the male package!”

Why all the changes?. I agree with 5brick8 review. Have played this game for years. Why change it so much? I agree that I hate the change that the letters stay the same after each attempt. It is much more stimulating when the letters changed order each time. Isn’t that the point of these types of games? That change makes it more boring to me. I don’t care for the huge letters - it’s like when all caps scream at you. Please at least return to the letter list changing each attempt. I do not get the same enjoyment from this game as I have for years and find myself playing it less & less often.

Loud Ads When Playing On Mute. Really irritating to hear loud volume ads when playing on mute. Hey developers, there is a reason that some of your players choose “no sound” in settings. It is not good at all that when I finish a game I silence — and after EVERY game— a high volume ad jarring ad pops up. What’s worse is that I am forced to listen to the ad until an “X” pops up so I can choose to close it. What continues to get worse is some of the advertisers are sneaky in that a tiny “x” to close the ad is almost transparent to barely be seen while there is another very visible and large “X” that when you hit that , it takes you to the App Store. I realize you need ad revenue for those of us playing this game for free, but the set up is really disrespectful to your players. Of course, it is obvious that your app isn’t about the game and players, it really is a platform for advertisers. Please fix. Thanks.

What happened!?. I too used to love this game...could swear I had bought an no/little ad version, but that appears to be gone. Once I updated to a new phone, the old version wouldn’t work for months...then I discovered an updated version which...works, but, as others have said, there are WAY TOO MANY tedious, annoying, hard to get past ADS!!! Makes it a 50/50 on the enjoyment level. 😪 Update: was hoping something would change, but the incessant ads have taken 90% of the enjoyment out of this game. Now, if I play, I don’t play many rounds since it’s VERY tedious to have to close the app between almost every game/round. Not enough years of life to sit around waiting for ads...if I wanted another game by same developer, I’d look for it; but as things stand, that’s the LAST thing I’d do!

Number One Again!. Update: Thank you SO MUCH for quickly addressing the issues from your recent update! I am happily playing again! Original review: “I have been playing this game for years. It is fun and challenging. I set it so that there is no time limit, and I can put it down and pick it up and start where I left off. The advertisements are in between games and do not last long--not a distraction for me. I am grateful that you updated to the latest system--thank you!”

Latest Update Broke It!. I really enjoy this game and play it daily. Well, I did. Until the latest update broke it. Now it only crashes. Boo!! Review Update: Okay, so the latest update fixed the crashing, but can you get the sound setting to stay fixed? I have to mute the sound every time I open the app. In fact, can you just go back a few builds and then leave the app the heck alone? It was working fine until you decided to “improve” it. And I second what another person said about the letters reordering after a word is entered. The old way was fine; why was there a need to change that? Honestly, you know how everyone laughed when back in the late 70s the Coca-Cola company came out with New Coke and it was a disaster because no one was looking for New Coke? No one was looking for updates to this app either. Review Update Redux: Honestly, you guys should fire your app developer. Now, even though you fixed the earlier mistakes, you guys broke the round counter. I’ve been on round two for I don’t know how many games now. Seriously.

Disappointed. This game is great, really makes you think and stretch your brain to keep you sharp. I’ve had it for years but now the constant ads that no longer disappear within 10 to 20 seconds is becoming burdensome. I can’t enjoy the game anymore for trying to close out the constant ads after every game. I understand they want to sell other Apps, but this commercialism is making me too angry to continue playing the game. I am very disappointed in the commercialism that has ruined this game.

Latest update fixed the issues!. Updated review : the latest update fixed all the gripes that were part of my review when everything went to hell (see previous review below). Now things are back to the way it was before they messed with the original winning formula! Thanks for listening to your customers! Original review: I understand the need for ads since I've played only the free version of this game for over a decade. The gameplay and flow was very good prior to the latest major update. This latest update just messed up the flow and feel of the game. It's much less responsive to touch and the font is horrible. In prior versions, when spelling an incorrect word, the tiles would go back into the empty tile spaces in the order that the incorrect word was spelled. This was great. Now, when an incorrect word is submitted, the letters return to the same empty tile spaces that they originated from. This is horrible since it breaks the flow of thought and the visual and motor reflex. Please revert back to the prior look and feel and tile replacement characteristics. I can't play this game as it is.

Don’t like the new version. After you warp, you can no longer view your last word. Don’t like the instant warp. Liked the old animations. Don’t like that, after you make a word, the remaining letters are warped. This makes it more difficult to, say, add “ing ” or “s” to a word. Changing the game just to make it more difficult is not appreciated. I suppose the larger numbers are supposed to make them easier to read. They don’t. On my iPhone 11, the game got stuck in a mode where there was only one six letter word. No other words. I could not find a menu item to cancel this. Restarting the game or the phone did not change it. I think it’s a bug. Used to love this game. Not happy anymore. I’ve installed another word game. But, there is nothing else like Word Warp. Too bad.

Game Stopped Counting Rounds etc.. 2nd UPDATE: Game stopped counting Rounds at 102. And in Dark Mode, Help text is same White font as entry field. And Support click goes to “Safari cannot find this page”. And, worst of all, to get your “fix” for avoiding the Clipboard connection, I had to Update. The newest versions play loud head-banging audio EVEN WITH THE MUTE BUTTON ON. Sorry but I have to drop all your stars now, and Uninstall the app. Bye bye. UPDATE: Developer responded by email with an Update one business day later that fixed the issue! Great! When I resume or boot the game from scratch, I see a Banner saying “WordWarp copied Clipboard from ”. That’s intrusive and uncalled for. Will you update with a patch that avoids that behavior? While you’re at when will you fix the other complaints I’m reading about the versions starting with 3.4.0? I won’t Update until you do.

Changes to App DO NOT WORK. I have played Word Warp for years. It is highly addictive. However, the recent changes made to the App have made it glitchy and almost unusable. At times, the letters will not appear even though you select them. If you are moving quickly, this will trip you up and the word that you are attempting to play will not be complete causing you to start over forming the word. In addition, the order of the letters no longer tracks the most recent word. Instead, the letter sort remains the same throughout the game. Anyone who has played this game for a while will be thrown off by this. These two problems combined make for a frustrating experience. Please fix this App!

Way too many ads.. This has been the most ridiculous amount of ads of any download I have ever done. It’s just not that great of a game to have to deal with that much extra stuff. After reading through some of the other reviews, it is obvious that the developers of this must have a single digit IQ. Not listening to that Many people about an issue is a problem. Fortunately, I do not have anything else by just developer download it, otherwise, I would delete it. I am also going to post this anywhere. I can find a link on social media. I got your reply. The link to contact you is dead. Anyway, the amount and duration of ads for your app is ridiculous. Look at how many comments about that are posted. I know of no others nearly this ridiculous. Next worst is less than half.

Great game. Tired of Ads.. I have loved this game for years. I bought the paid version to get rid of ads but that is a completely different game. Wish I could get an ad-free version of this app. The game is intuitive; updates have improved the app. Highly recommended. Update: they’ve just updated the game after not changing anything about the game in over 10 years!!! So now after typing a word, the letters go back to their original position instead of plugging back into the grid in the order you used them. So I’m constantly typing the wrong letters. They enlarged the letters and changed the font. There is NO WAY to change any of the new settings off. I’ve played this game for over 10 years. I want it to be the same. Very disappointing update.

2 stars because it used to be great. I wouldn’t review it or even keep it if I’d only used the latest version. This has been an app I’ve used daily for years but the latest version has me ready to delete it. I’ve really enjoyed it. I’ve put up with the endless ads with the recent versions, but now they’re longer and more insistent in their presentation. Added to that, it’s buggier than heck (never used to be) and slower to load. I’ve quit the app multiple times because I think it’s frozen, only to find out I just have to wait. I’ve been presented with screens where it says my score is zero and it only displays one word (the six letter word) to fill in. The pause function only works sometimes. I’ve gotten out of the app during play and gone back in only to find my score has been reset to zero. It has been turned into a piece of junk. Probably tracking me too. I can’t recommend it. If you’re an advertiser within this app, I would spend my money elsewhere.

Intrusive ads make a once-favorite game unplayable. I used to play this game for long stretches of time. It’s one of my favorite word games. I ended up deleting it when it went a couple years without an update. I recently discovered it had been updated more recently and was thrilled. My disappointment when I realized I would have to endure several seconds of loud ads (that pause my music!) between every. single. puzzle is hard to overstate. I suffered through maybe a half dozen puzzles before I got fed up and deleted the app again. I would be willing to pay a reasonable price for an ad-free version of this game. I am not willing to waste my time on what amounts to an intensive ad delivery service with puzzles in between.

Do NOT download this app!!!. In the name of all that is decent, run now. A month ago, they started running ads after EVERY Word Warp game instead of after every few. I don’t like it, but I can accept it. But over three weeks ago, they started running an ad that plays loud music every time it plays. Not welcome at times when you’re playing discreetly, obviously. Within a week, this ad started playing after EVERY single game, without exception. Their customer support strung me along, promising me that they would “take care of” this...at one point telling me that HAD taken care of it. They have not; it’s STILL running after every game, and they’ve stopped responding now. What I can’t believe is the sheer idiocy of thinking they can do this without offending players both loyal and new (not to mention the sheer idiocy of the advertiser imagining that this ad is doing their company any good). Please...boycott stupidity. DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS APP!!! UPDATE: I was told by technical support that they would be working to remove the offensive ad with the soundtrack, but that it would take “several weeks to do the programming.” (Why?) As it turns out, they lied. When I checked today, this same offensive ad was still playing after almost every game. But just now, I find that a brand new ad has been added — and it also has a soundtrack that plays loudly. This is beyond unacceptable. I repeat: DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS APP!!! And please, boycott every other product this lame company produces.

Not a huge fan of change. I have played Word Warp for years and LOVE it, finding it a great way to both relax and keep my mind engaged. But today when I went to play there was now a privacy disclaimer and terms of use that needed reading and agreeing to. I almost closed the thing and thought “there went another of my favorites”, but I didn’t, I agreed and proceeded. Well, I truly dislike the font and the game is so sluggish now and takes a noticeable pause to load a new frame. And there’s a freaking ad after every single game frame! Some of them are now video ads that you have no choice but to watch the entire 30 second ad. Seriously frustrated and disappointed, actually bordering on angry. I accept your right/need to insert ads; I don’t appreciate being held hostage to them. I’ll sleep on this but seriously I think you lost a rabid fan with this move. Really disappointed.

Never Gets Old. “This is the only game I can't stop playing. I've had this game since iPhone 3G, and though it's not perfect, I'll keep playing it as long as it's supported. There isn't a feeling more exhilarating than when you're about to run out of time and you still haven't found the six letter word, or more satisfying than when you discover it when in the final seconds. To keep your record streak going. Highly recommend this to word game lovers.” 5 Stars.... I just found this five star review I was contemplating writing a few years ago and then the phone broke and after replacing it I forgot about it. Fast forward a couple years I remembered how much I loved this simple yet addictive game and decided to download it again. Wish I hadn’t as the developer has decided to turn it into a never ending stream of advertisements unless you pay... Now the occasional ad is to be expected on a free game and I can’t begrudge them for ads, but it is literally in between every single round now. It was nowhere near that frequent a few years back and I mean not even close. This great time waster game has became a waste of time since you may now spend as much time watching ads as you do playing a round and that’s with the ability to skip the ad after a few seconds! And why pay to avoid the ads when the money obviously doesn’t go into improving the game. Very disappointed.

Goodbye Word Warp. I just deleted this app after many years of use. This used to be an enjoyable, addicting app, but the updates have made it extremely annoying. As others have mentioned, the ads now play after every game and some are really loooooooong. Understand they need to run ads but too many break the flow of the game. Also, you have to be very deliberate about touching the letters which really slows you down. At first I thought it was my phone but I only have this issue within Word Warp. Most annoying is that I never advanced to the next round. Even if I got every word within the allotted time! Did the play rules have change with the updates? Can’t find the answer and won’t stick around to find out. There are better games out there.

Unfortunately on the verge of deleting this app. This game used to be great when I first started playing it a few years ago. When the ads in between rounds started, I was fine with it because I know ads are necessary and everything we do via technology involves ads. The issue I’m having now (and have been for like two months now) is that in between rounds when the ads show, 90% of the time my screen ends up stuck on an ad that I can’t exit out of. I close the app and reopen it and the same 2-3 ads come up without a way to exit out of. I have already left a review about this not long ago, and all the creators said was to go onto their website and fill out a formal complaint. I did as they said, in hopes of them taking my complaint into consideration, but nothing has changed and it’s been weeks since I submitted my complaint onto their website. They have given me no choice but to leave this review for them and forewarn others before they download this app that you will be spending more time exiting out the game to get rid of the frozen ad than you will actually playing the rounds. This is my last time speaking out about this. If nothing is done about this within the next week or so, I’m deleting the app and also telling everyone I know to not download this ad-infested game.

I wish they'd make a button for word suggestions. Update: still no ad-free version available and I would gladly pay for it if there were. Frustrating. As so many have said, this app is addictive, but I am continually frustrated by the fact that weird words are accepted while perfectly ordinary words are rejected. I wish they'd allow us to suggest words that they would review and then add to the dictionary. That would be a good feature. Update: I paid for this app so I could avoid the ads, but when I updated my phone’s software, the Word Warp app wouldn’t work. I went to update it, and had to download a duplicate instead, so now I can’t run the ad-free version that I paid for, and that is still sitting on my home screen, but I can play the non-ad-free version which works perfectly on the more recent software, but is full of ads. This is bogus. I paid good money for this app, and expected it to be updated accordingly. There isn’t even an option to pay for it again. Only the free version is available now, which means tons of ads.

The Upgrade that wasn’t. This upgrade is awful—it’s more of a regression into ancient graphics and a game that didn’t need fixing with than an “upgrade” !!!!! This used to be my “go to” game but with loud ads, other ads with somewhat indiscreet graphics, and gambling ads targeting the elderly, I now seldom play. Also...”payd” as a legitimate word whose definition says it’s the past tense of “pay” ....!!!! Seriously!! (Should be “paid”.)Also other legitimate words are not accepted......what dictionary are you using or aren’t you using one and just “winging it”?????!! I thought I would give it another try and in the span of less than an hour I got the same game again. This so called upgrade has completely cheapened and ruined this game. Seems like someone else bought it and took it over and made it into something less than usable. Very sad and such a shame.

Oh Gosh Another “Improvement”???. Well I think this is the final straw; gotta find another game similar. Because, wow, they just keep trying to fix stuff that isn’t broken while ignoring the one thing EVERYone wants... less ADS! Last improvement, they turned the sound into these annoying little squeaks. Now this time they have made the letters that you choose from too large. They make my eyes cross! Maybe if they had someone who is more in tune with what interface components make for a better play experience AND more acceptable words, AND a more creative way of producing the game without the ads ‘ad-nauseum’. Til then I’ll be signing off. The fun is no longer worth the hassle.

Way to many adds. I have been playing this game for years ~ it is or has been my favorite go to game. I purchased a license to avoid the ads. When I got messages on my iPhone that the app would not work on new version of iOS I was concerned ~ can’t tell you how relived I was when the app was updated. But I feel betrayed now that I have to wade through ad after ad after ad what a waste it is with great sadness that I am now deleting this app from my phone I’ve tried to play regardless of the adds but just can’t take it anymore. Not only am I forced to sit through ads that are as long as it took me to solve the game (or longer) it is usually the same ad over and over again. If and when the developers get a clue and honor the agreement made by my purchasing an ad free version I’ll be the first one to reinstall

Roll back the update ASAP. Have to add my complete disappointment in the new update. Game feels completely different and not in a good way. It’s clunkier, less responsive, and a complete downgrade from what it was. What it was was simple, enjoyable, and timeless. If any updates are to occur it should have been to keep the timer up when you’ve completed the board and less repeats of boards. I’ll check back but if this version is to stay then I will have to delete after a decade of enjoying it. What a shame, hopefully the administrators take heed of all the negative feedback this update has been getting - it seems users are 100% in agreement since I didn’t see any positive reviews yet of this latest version.

Latest update screwed things up, will be deleting it now.. The new update changes the behavior of the letters. Before, after entering a choice, the letters would stay in the same order for the next one, making it easy to rattle off similar combinations. Now it resets and it’s necessary to rearrange the letters over and over slowing things down considerably. Also, it appears the the recognition of a tap isn’t as sensitive. The letter will change (color/intensity) as if it was tapped, but it doesn’t get selected requiring repeated taps to actually choose it. During fast play, this causes numerous false combinations. All in all, this game is no longer worth the effort. There are other options that used to be not as good but now are the preferred choice.

What Happened?. This isn’t the first time I’ve seen a developer update an app and actually made it worse than the original, but sheesh. More time is now needed each round. I’m wasting 20-30 seconds each round having to retype words that did not properly populate in the answer box because you press the letter you want and 1/3rd of the time the app doesn’t register it. This is a brand new issue directly related to the update. My suggestion: can it and go back to the original. It’s just that bad. While I’m glad they added some new words, it’s time to look at those words and ask yourself how often they are really used in conversation or writing? Then make further edits.

It’s become unplayable. I used to really enjoy this game. But ever since they changed it with the loud irritating ads playing after every single round I’ve been playing less and less to the point where it’s not even worth the aggravation anymore, and after years and years of having this game I am about ready to just delete it. If there was an option for a paid version without millions of ads I’d gladly buy it, but they don’t even give the option to pay to remove ads. Yeah, I’m done. Update: I’ve found two better replacements, Wordstock and Jumbline, both you pay a small price for, $1.99, but it’s the same type of game but with no ads. My response to your response: You’re not getting it; it doesn’t matter if we can dismiss the loud irritating ads after 5 or 10 seconds, it’s the fact that we have to deal with this after EVERY. SINGLE. ROUND. It’s not worth it. There’s other games out there. I’ve already downloaded two other games identical to yours that I paid a small fee for with no ads. If you add an option to pay to remove ads completely I may reinstall, but until then you will remain deleted.

THERE IS NO INTELLIGENT REASON for you to change the DEFINITIONS format. 🔥 I’ve been playing this game for several years solely because of the word definitions, derivations, definitions in various languages and photos. This feature in invaluable to people who choose to expand their education in linguistics. I can’t imagine any users complaining about the feature, so I’m assuming that it was the creators of this app who decided to no longer provide it this feature. Another feature that has changed is that users are forced to watch long ads. Before this change, users could simply opt out by stopping playing and then “reboot”. This was obviously a financial decision. Perhaps the admins weren’t satisfied by their income. Please return to the former status. Please. The updated version is suitable for Middle School kids. This change is insulting. If the update remains as is, I’ll delete it and write a review and post on several online sites. UPDATE: After receiving no response to my email, which is copied above, this review follows suit. I did find a better app which offers the definition style that you deleted.

Do NOT load this app!!!. You will waste half your time watching ads, some with long videos that you can’t get out of. There is an ad or two after EVERY game you play. Other than the ads, it is truly a great game!! Honest! Too bad they spoiled a great game with all the ads! ————————————————————— Update: there are still ads between each game but with the recent 3.4.0 version there is no way to easily silence the audio on the ads and they blare at full volume between games. This prevents you from playing the game when there are people around. In the settings tab on 3.4.0 there is a “Mute audio” box that I have checked about ten times now but when you hit the “back” button at the bottom of the settings screen, the “Mute Audio” box doesn’t stay checked (iPhone 10R) and the ads blare on. This is a bug in the 3.4.0 version that needs fixed. Another issue with the 3.4.0 version is the size of the letter in the white bubbles. They are HUGE in this version. Very little “white space” around the letter. It is annoying and very distracting. Developers; if you can’t fix these issues, please go back to the 3.3.4 version where these issues were tolerable. It seems that you make this game worse with every new version. It truly is a really great game if it wasn’t for all the ads, the blaring audio volume and the HUGE letters in the bubbles. Come on guys, you’re supposed to be developers, let’s get it right and make Word Warp the best game app ever!! Thanks

One of my favorites. I really love this game. It’s one of the three best word games I’ve found, and the other two are no longer available. It’s a good mental exercise, and having a dictionary attached allows me to learn definitions and the etymology of various words. Yes, it has an ad or two after each game but they are very short. A small price to pay for a free game, IMO. I would love to be able to tweak the word list a bit to eliminate some obsolete words and pick up the occasional common word that is missing, but overall I think the game is excellent. Changed my review.... I feel like they read my comment specifically, because they reverted to what I loved so much. The font is not exactly the same as before, but it is readable, which is the important thing. Haha The word tray is back to normal, no more oddly swapping letters around. The only critique I have now is an improvement to the sensitivity of the letter buttons, so players don’t have to struggle to hit one specific spot on the button. Love to Hate in 1 day. When this new company took over Word Warp they absolutely RUINED it! Used to be one of my 2 go-to games to play on my iPhone. Now I’m stuck in an endless loop of one-word games. And even if I solve it with a valid word, I don’t get credit if there is more than one solution but my word is not “the” word the game makers selected. How can you take a game that is working almost perfectly one minute and become a total fail the next. ARGHHHHHH! How frustrating!

One of my all-time favorites!. Even though they are running an ad after each word set I find it good brain exercise. I have been playing for years and personally don’t tire of it. There are still words that are very challenging. This is an update added on to my original review. The app was just updated and I think they messed it up more than helped it. The two primary things that I noticed are different that I do not like are: 1) The touch response seems less sensitive. It is more difficult to get the touch to respond each time. 2) The letters stay constant in the position for which they are ordered at the beginning of each session. I liked when they would re-order depending on how each input occurred. It definitely hampers prompt wordplay which is part of what I really like about playing this game.I will still play the game but will also be looking for another anagram game although it is anticipated it will be hard to find one that I like as much as this one

Super Loud Ads even on Mute. I have been addicted to this game for many years, but now I can’t play. Every time I have two minutes, I take out my phone and play a round. I even like to get in a couple rounds before I fall asleep, but these ads after every round are loud and can’t be muted. The only way is to turn down the volume of the phone ( and risk missing an important call ) imaging having a minute at work and playing a round or standing in line at the checkout, all of a sudden blaring music — everyone jumps and I’m busted. Same thing at night! I paid to have no ads, and here I am playing my favorite game and being blasted with these obnoxious ads. I just don’t play any more. Can’t risk it.

Terrible Update. This has been my go-to game since my first iPhone, ages ago. I could forgive all the obnoxious, interrupting ads because if you turned off the WiFi, it solved that issue (I’m still irked that I paid for the ad-free app and got screwed on that count when they decided to take everyone’s money and put ads back in). I can’t forgive the new update though for a whole host of reasons: 1. The text change is terrible. The font is bigger, brighter and hard on the eyes. 2. The text change screwed up the placement. Nothing is centered or aligned properly. 3. They removed the ability to pause the game. (Oh look, they brought that back a day later after everyone complained) 4. The buttons used to be super sensitive and intuitive. You could type in words super fast. Not anymore. I sometimes have to tap a letter multiple times for it to register and just as many times for it to take the word. 5. The ads are even more obnoxious than they used to be, if that’s possible. The app looked and functioned just fine. Why go and break what wasn’t broken? This wasn’t an update, it was a downgrade.

It used to be a good app. Originally, I purchased the ad free version of this app only to later get an email saying the developer no longer supported an ad free version on iOS. Of course, no refund was offered and customers, who previously paid, were not grandfathered in. Ok, so you took my money and turned the ads back on. Now I get an update (version 3.4) that changes the format and playability of the game. I guess if I had never experienced the original version, I might be okay with the new version. However, it seems that the app developer keeps changing the game, at the user’s expense, to collect more ad revenues. I’ve been a big fan of Word Warp for years but will now be searching for something new that is not owned/developed by this app developer - Mobilityware. NOT RECOMMENDED!

NO LONGER PERFECT Perfect simple word game. UPDATE: after having played this game for years, now on my fifth phone, having it be the go-to any time I had a few minutes to burn, the latest version of the app has rendered it virtually unusable. It now constantly freezes and has crashed three times as of this update, and seems bloated with ads. I wish I could revert to an older version. I’m going to miss this game... ~~~~~~ I've been playing this game for years on two different iPhones. It's not complicated, but it's addictive and a great way to unwind your brain.

When this page says the app collects data, it’s not joking!. I enjoy this game. It’s simple and free, which is probably why the developers are so eager to use trackers to feed data to their ad sponsors. I was upset to realize that this app completely disregards the “do not allow tracking” switch in the iPhone settings. I notice weirdly written ads that are definitely based on my web search history. I turned on Apple Privacy Report and played the game for two minutes. In just TWO minutes, the app had contacted 65 trackers including Google’s tracking data. I’ve played the game for years, but I don’t feel ok continuing to play a word scramble game that grabs this much data from me.

Ads upon ads upon ads. This is one of my favorite games to play. I’m sorry, if I wanted commercials I would watch tv. I turn my ringer down to avoid that loud music that seems to be attached to every ad. Now the ads are getting longer. You would think they would want to make money from players who actually like playing this game and who are will to pay for no ads instead of getting paid by advertisers. All those stupid ads will not be seen if everyone stops playing! Go back to offering a paid version with no ads, but this time don’t mess it up when it updates. Or here’s a crazy thought... better yet, start limiting those ads. I swear I can go bake a cake and come back and one of those stupid ads will still be playing. The struggle is real I tell ya... the struggle is real!!

It Just Keeps Getting Worse. I’ve had this app for years, and the game itself is pretty engaging and a good time waster, but it just keeps getting worse with every update. First there was the adding of more and longer ads over time, followed by ads that take you out of the app to automatically redirect to a browser or the App Store without permission. Then, within the last year, I started noticing that the app messes with the volume settings, often muting my phone volume and ringer/alerts without me knowing or allowing that kind of access. Today’s update added a bunch of themes that no one really needed while completely ruining the app itself. Now all it will do is show the game screen, but I can’t actually play anymore. I tried the typical troubleshooting- closing the app, deleting the app and reinstalling it, etc.- and nothing worked, so I’m leaving this review and deleting the app for good.

Played for many years. As another has said, the touch response is terrible after this last update. I used to get all the words with 1 minute, now I can’t get them in 2. Also the way it is rearranging letters is extremely frustrating. This has been the only game I play on my phone for many years. I actually appreciated that it wasn’t changed for a long time. Muscle memory wants to tap where it was used to. I’d like to see a paid version to get rid of ads and the ability to sync between iOS devices.

The recent change has made it so much worse.. I’m writing this on September 6, 2020. The game just updated a few days ago. It has made it much worse. There is no pause so you have to stop the game completely . Then you have to login again and see again the Mobility Ware logo. The ads after each game. I’ve been playing it for so long even before the ads. They are annoying but you can live with them. When you write a word the letters go back randomly not like they did before. I would’ve hoped that an improvement would’ve made it better for example to keep the time it took you to solve the puzzle. I’m so disappointed I am playing it much less frequently. I’m giving it to stars because it seems to be good for your mind. Other than that one star would suffice.

Word Warp has been warped. There is something seriously wrong with the recent update of Word Warp. No scores, only one word to find in each game. What has happened???

What happened?. This was my favourite game. I whiled away hours playing it, but since the new update it is almost impossible to enjoy anymore. The letters are so hard to push making it impossible to complete a game in the set time. Please address this problem so I can once again enjoy it.

Used to be fun. The ads in the recent update now take longer than the rounds. Time to find another game.

Can only do one word!. Last update is awful. I only have the option to find one 6-letter word!!! No point playing anymore. I’m deleting it.

Hate the new format. I hate the new look & format. It is no where as good or user friendly as the original. I have played this game for many years, at least 9 and I am now thinking of deleting it. A shame as it used to be good

Challenging. With the limit on the total number of letters available, this game is a constant challenge given extra focus with the 2 minute time limit. It is always jogging the memory and even introducing now words.

Not so great. So far the only real complaint is the complete lack of a real vocabulary range . Some "words" don't even exist according to the very same dictionary you are connected to ( for example "sots" which comes up often in the results but has no definition when you tap it )... And it does not accept a lot of the words that I know are real words , but clearly aren't used inside the US very often. A bit disappointing if you are slightly intellectual and looking for a real challenge.

Great game and addictive too!. Real fun to play and can become addictive so beware. Some improvements are needed though to make this app better: 1. Increase the number of words available as at times some words tend to repeat and make sure this doesn't happen especially if u still haven lost. 2. An online and in-game highscore list will make replayability a definite if included.

Great game lots of ads. I’ve been enjoying word warp for years. A quick few rounds every day. Reliable, fast, good flow of playing games. Only recently interrupted by annoying ads that I have to pause and wait to get rid of them. Is there an ad free version?

Crashes after a game.. Love it but annoyed when it crashes and freezes.

Good. No bugs, dictionary support, good brain entertainment. Would like option for British English spelling. The advertising annoys me. I don’t mind silent adverts but it’s invasive and embarrassing to suddenly have a video advert blast into your world.

Really disappointing. Dear “Development” Team I’ve been playing this for years. It was bad enough when you introduced the ads but now the game is (by comparison) truly appalling! New font is poor, response time is slow, you can’t short cut to the next word until time limit is reached (if you haven’t got all the words) and the letters go back to original sort order slowing game even further. Will you address any of these or should I just delete game now? This is not an upgrade!

Broadening my vocabulary. Great game to keep your mind ticking over and learn some new words. I like the link to the dictionary.

Warning: Totally addictive. Spent hours on it. Love its simplicity. Some of the words are a bit obscured. It's funny some of the "rude" words have been omitted, which seems unneccessary. Great how it links to a dictionary so you can look up word meaning. Good at training word recognition, but don't expect to really learn the meaning of the words because it's out of context. The ads are a bit annoying, but you get used to it. Haven't worked out what the "Last" button really does because it sometimes undid the last word, but sometimes the last letter. The options/preference list is great as you can turn off the sound/animation.

My Favourite! Update for iOS11 please!!. Have used this app stay sane for seven years at least now. I’m heartbroken that it won’t work on iOS 11. Please update!!

So addictive. I really like this application, even though it's addictive! The ads aren't too annoying, just click through them. Very fun, great for your brain too. All the words are mainstream and not too difficult, you kick yourself when you realise it was right there in front of you.

Ads have destroyed this. Concept is good. Always found it entertaining. Too bad that you spend more time navigating ads than playing. Oh well, another app for the trash ☹️

The game now works after updating to current iOS. However, gameplay is not as smooth as previous versions of game. Now whenever you enter a word, the deck just returns to the same order as when the round opens. It used to hold the order of the letters of the word just entered to make it easier to repeat for plurals and derivative words. I hope you fix this soon. Previous review: I’ve enjoyed this game for many years. Unfortunately it is crashing on my phone since it updated yesterday. I’m currently using iOS 13.6.1 on an iPhone Xs. Hopefully this can be fixed quickly....

Ad free return please!. I paid for the Ad free version many years ago only to have the paid version not upgraded to iOS11 and therefore useless. Contacted support on several occasions and fibbed off with vague statements as to “being developed”. Months later and still waiting. Ads are excruciating! To add to above: latest version is appalling. I will be deleting this game as I no longer enjoy it. Constant ads and the operating system now changed for the worse.

Used to love it ... now horrible. I was soooo addicted to this game. But the latest update has ruined it. The typeface is ugly and when I enter a word it puts the letters back in the previous order, where it used to leave them in the order you just used (which helped when typing in shorter versions of the word). Now hate it. So sad ☹️

Don’t bother!. I have been playing this app for years, however the new update has ruined this game. Many years ago, I paid for the full version with no ads, however the developers don’t seem to care about their loyal players as I now have ads after every game again. The new font is not appealing and the reaction speed in the game lags. It worked fine before, so why destroy it?!

Add heavy. I really enjoy this app and would be happy to pay for it to get rid of the adds. I have deleted the app purely because of the adds that just keep bombarding you.

Hate the recent update. I used to love this app but the new update has made it no where near as good. The score doesn’t appear anymore. It is permanently stuck on 0 which is annoying if you think you are getting a high score and there’s no record of how well you’re doing. And the letters go back to the same order each time now. It was much better before.

Word warp. A great game which is easy to learn and can be played for a few minutes or for as long as you like. Some of the words are sometimes a bit obscure but that becomes a challenge in itself. If you like anagrams and word games, this is a top download.

My Best Pastime Ever!!. Of all the Word games apps in iPhone, I only play Word Warp! At home, in the train station, on a flight to anywhere in the world, on my holidays, this game can be played with or without WiFi...even, offline! You can play it at your own pace!!

Feedback on update. I am not sure why you changed the font on your latest update. Looks shocking and ‘cheap copy’ rather than the professional image previously.

Simple, enjoyable and addictive.. I play this every day on the train. It's a great challenge to squeeze the last few words out as the clock ticks down. And the dictionary links afterwards settle the "that's not a word" argument. I've set the clock a little slower as I'm not a fan of unnecessary stress. Shame it's only US dictionary but that seems to be the way of the world these days.

Great game terrible ads. I understand the need for banner ads and such so the author can get rewarded for his hard work. I occasionally click on them to support, but this particular implementation ruins the game for me. I can't play this game because on the train I have no wifi and it complains it can't connect to the server and exits. It's a shame, when I have played this game it's been really entertaining...

What have you done!. Have loved playing this game for many years but the recent update and the changes made has ruined the enjoyment for me. From the letter display, where the ads occur and the way the game info is indicated have all made it clunky and awkward.....no longer enjoyable. Looks like I’ll have to look for a different game.

Totally addictive. Very well implemented and very tricky game - you kick yourself for missing simple words that become obvious only after the time runs out. Only downside - it uses American spelling which makes it non- intuitive for the rest of us.

one of my top 10 apps. I find this app relaxing, mentally stimulating, educational, and enjoyable. The puzzles are quick and never repeated, even after the hundreds I've played. the best thing about this app is it takes me away, into a zen-like zone.

Lost my score with update. I’ve been playing this game over the years and had a score of over 7 million. With the update, it’s completely wiped it - now it’s on zero. I tried to contact the developer but have had no response.

The ads are killing this app.. It’s a good game but every time you complete a game, there are two ads that lock the app for 30 seconds. It’s very frustrating.

Game was good before updates. Quite a few glitches in scoring and in the continue button.

Free version?. Kids love it but its not free like they thought. Had to remove it from their phones as it costs each time it shows ads and connects to server. yeah you can skip ads but your charged for connection, kids love the game cannot afford to play though.

Best Game. Hands up best game ever created. It is simple but complex and at the end of every 2 minutes when you see the word list you "know" you knew every word but just could not get them out. So on the odd occasion when you get all words before the time expires you feel even better. MJK

Update Please?. Love it. Simple yet at times testing. However at the moment I keep getting an error message saying that the developer needs to update the app to IOS 11. Has this happened yet? If not when? I like this game a lot.

Mentally stimulating. Mentally stimulating, totally engaging, fun and addictive word game. A little too easy but well balanced in that there are many six letter words (need to use all the letters to make one word to have the option of getting to the next round) that are challenging to find. Great game if you are competitive against others and/or against yourself. One of my favourites, and I'm fussy. It's hard to find word scramble games both look good and where the target word is 9 letters long. Bad points are that some of the target words are quite particular and very obscure and therefore, you probably need to read the dictionary to get a really high score. Finding the pause feature was very hard.

Word Warp. Dislike the new formate, the way the letters are presented. And the way the letters go back to their original spots ie not dropping into where the word would be on the grid like the old formate.

PLEASE REMOVE ADS. I’d happily pay to remove the ads. It’s nearly enough to make you delete the game!!!

Fun, but.... It's a fun app that I've been playing now for many years, but there's just one thing that bothers me. The ads. They used to only come up like every 3 or 4 games, but now they come up after every game. That irks me because the only thing that changed was going from a 32bit game to 64bit. That's all. No updated features. If you can handle ads, then I say go ahead and download it because you won't be disappointed.

Don’t like the updated version at all.. I Used to really like the game but do not like the update that was done last week.

I’m done with this game.. I’ve played this game literally for years. The most recent update went from a couple of seconds to start to 45 seconds before anything happened. Bought a new iPhone, sped up loading, but now the ads play at max volume even with the volume switch off and Sound set to Off in the game. Pity, the game used to be fun.

Disappointed. I just downloaded the new version and I’m disappointed to say the least. The app has frozen and no amount of tinkering seems to fix it. I click on Continue and it exits the screen. I’m sure if I deleted it it would resume but I’d likely lose everything. The way the app works now is less efficient. The letters are now jumbled after making an entry. This means you have to go searching for your letters to enter a new word. Too bad it used to be a fun game. 😏

Ruined. In the last little while you updated this app, and totally ruined it! It no longer keeps my scores, it no longer lets me do the words other than the six letter word and it has to be silenced between each game! Right now I rate it zero for no fun at all!

Changes!. I don’t know what changes you made recently, but they have ruined the game. The game no longer works properly! The font is horrible to work with!!! I can’t even talk about all the HORRIBLE ads anymore. What a shame. It was and could be such a lovely game to play. But now it causes more stress than benefit. You know, some of us, I am sure, would have been willing to pay a reasonable fee in order to have an ad free word game to enjoy. It really is too bad and I regret no longer being able to play it.

Word warp. Great game to keep my brain sharp but too many ads. Also the choice of some words is strange. Some words accepted in crossword clues are not accepted ie tented and others are ie duh, ooh, aha which more sound effects than words. I agree totally. That said , it is a favourite game for me. Also I tried Homescapes, didn’t like it, deleted but it popped up and I can’t get rid of it to play Word Warp.

Forced Update. Loved the game until the last forced update. Now the sound won’t stay off and the ads are longer. How can I get an ad-free version? I still can’t turn off the sound on some ads. I can’t play in public.

The score is not changing. Thank you for your attention to the glitches. Now the score is not changing at all. Seems to be stuck. And I find the new font and size of the letters very difficult to work with. I appreciate that you are trying to improve the game.

Worst update EVER. What happened??!! No game update for a year or more. Finally an update and it just completely ruined the game. You have to tap a letter several times to get it to work. The letters don’t arrange properly after playing a word. I just don’t get it.

Touch sensitivity of the letter tray is bad. Touch sensitivity of letter tray used to be good. Now it is bad. Can’t play as fast as I used to. Also, would gladly purchase an ad free version of the game if it was available.

The last update helps. The very last update has addressed several of the problems created in the previous update. Especially on the iPhone. BUT the iPad version is still really buggy - the freezes and glitches are so annoying that (for the seconded time) I am deleting this app. I play it to relax, not to feel like throwing the iPad across the room in frustration.

I used to play this all the time and purchased an ad free version - now it doesn’t play ads in the middle of a game but it takes forever to go to the next round because the ads play between rounds. The update has ruined this game. Used to LOVE this. Played every day. And now not only is the new design hideous, but there seems to be something off with the sensitivity because it takes several taps to select a letter. Pleeeeeeease fix this, I want my game back.

Too many changes make for lowered quality. This app was my time filler, playing 5 minutes here or there. I am now considering removing it after playing 5 or so years. Right now, I only have one 6 letter word to fill. Sometimes my finger taps are unresponsive. It’s a mess. And it’s taking too long for fixes.

Too many ads. I have been playing this game since it came out and have always loved it. However there are so many ads at this point that it has ruined the game. I really like the interface and the variety of words but it’s become so unpleasant (not to mention that the ads have audio that you can’t turn off. Mobility Ware has messed this up!. A crushing number of advertisements!! At least one after every round and it’s often impossible to get out of the ad without closing the application and opening it again. If you can ever get through the ads, it’s a good game

Good game but too many ads. The earlier versions did have ads. Then suddenly after an update there were ads, very noisy ads whose sound can be turned off. Now there is often more than one ad between each game. Slows down the playing time and interrupts the flow. The noisy ads make it impossible to play in public spaces. Not what I originally signed up for. An ad free version would be very appreciated.

How to stop ads, crashes.... Turn off cellular for the app and disable WiFi while using the app. No more crashes or ads (at least for me). Version 3.4.3 - I haven’t been able to figure out what the “Minor bug fixes” are as I haven’t seen any changes/improvements. Version 3.4.2 - Better. Letter behavior went back to the way it was. Sensitivity when touching the letters seems better but still iffy, especially for the leftmost letter. Wouldn’t be so annoying if touched letter didn’t give feedback by highlighting when touched and then NOTHING HAPPENS! Font is back to what it used to be, I think. Power usage still seems excessive. Round still doesn’t update on first round after app launch. Scoring updates but it’s bizarre! Score in the game doesn’t match score in Game Center. Also, just played a round in which I should’ve gotten 1030 points according to your rules. Actually got 4550 points in the game and 5670 points in Game Center! Like I said - BIZARRE! BTW, since you updated the format, all of the “Previews” on the App Store page are wrong!

Advertising Tactics Are Warped. What upgrades? This is 2023 and it seems to still have problems from earlier comments. We enjoy your app, if it lets us play. It seems to be obsessed or possibly possessed with commercials. If it does let us play a game, we then have to endure a series of game demo ads that are inescapable. Even ads for games that we downloaded in the hope that they would go away. We would gladly subscribe to an ad-free version. More so-called updates are needed. I’d rate the app at four plus stars, but the annoying advertising tactic gets a minimum star rating.

It was a pretty good app.. I can live with the ads knowing that maybe one out of ten times I will get consecutive games. HOWEVER, I CANNOT live with Shopify ad. There is no close button. There is no way to continue your game unless you close the game and reopen it. Then of course the game you just played does not count towards your level. But even if you close it and reopen it, there is no guarantee that you won’t get the Shopify ad when it reopens. What I don’t understand is how the mental eunuchs of Shopify think that refusing me the option of closing the ad is going to make me interested. Text Twist is by far a better game

Very Disappointed!. I had this app on my phone for years and loved it. When I got a new phone I lost it. Just downloaded it again when I realized it was still around, and I am going to have to delete it :( There is a loud, obnoxious add that repeats after every single round. I have had some apps that went a little overboard with ads before, but this is a whole new level. I was so happy about getting it back on my phone, but I simply cannot support an app that is this ridiculous with ads and has no way to stop them. The sad thing is the game itself is great, it’s just been made intolerable to play due to this issue.

Fun. Some features on upgrade not an improvement. This is an addictive game. I’ve improved my abilities in this and it translates to improved scores in Boggle and Scrabble. Two features “upgraded” that I’d like returned. 1- the tiles are harder to read now especially playing on a phone. 2- it used to be when you attempted a word the letters in your deck would be arranged in the order you chose them. Now they always go back to the original order. This makes it more difficult for those of us who are visual.

Seriously needs a paid version. This game is great! Specially for building vocabulary. The only downside is the ads after each game. While I understand that ads are needed, it makes it a bit worrisome to hand to a child to play. Would be great if there was a paid version or a charge for removing the ads. It’s the only reason I gave it a 4 star instead of 5.

Great game, too many ads. I have played this for years and I would gladly pay a few bucks to get an ad free experience. I mostly play it for relaxation, almost every night to get ready to sleep, for example. The ads are annoying and some are quite loud so I have to turn off sound on my phone.

Challenging and relaxing. This is much different than the other word search games out there. Very streamlined. Not too fancy. Easy to use yet challenging and get to look up word definitions. I really like the warp function and of course the last function. I sure wish they’d bring back word warp extreme. Was even better! Please bring it back!!

Terrible Development Team. I just can’t believe you would put so much development effort into making this app worse. As others have already said, there are issues with touch sensitivity, word resets, game crashes and more that simply weren’t there before, and no one has bothered to fix them since they’ve shown up. Even in its current poor ui state I’d pay for an ad-free version. But there’s no way I’m dealing with an ad every single round - and yes, I’m aware that I can close them “after a few seconds”. It’s still unplayable. Shame on you for destroying such an excellent app.

Don’t like the update!!. I have two “games” on my phone: Sudoku and Word Warp. My go-to is almost always Word Warp but I am so aggravated and disappointed with this latest update. As someone else noted, the letter tiles stay constant - until you click WARP - not a good play dynamic. Next thing is the touch sensitivity has suffered, and lastly, I think, the letters are too large - but maybe I’ll get used to that. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE the game but, since the update, the flow of the game is not as smooth and seamless. I’m just sayin...

Update not working well. This has been one of my go-to word games for a very long time and I loved. I tolerate the ads between rounds but now the game makes no sense. The goal used to be find as many words as possible from 6 letters. Now I only have the option to make one 6 letter word, period, end of round. That is boring.

Too many ads. Get rid of all the ads. I paid for the version without ads. Then you ‘updated’, and I lost the ad-free version. There is an ad after every game. Please give me the ad-free version that I paid for awhile ago. Update: this is the standard response. Don’t you get revenue from the people who pay for the ad-free version? Clearly people don’t like the change that you have made. You have so many complaints and 1-star reviews. Does this not show you need to go back to what the people want?

Something AWESOME is now not so great. I have played this game for years and was very upset that it wouldn’t play with iOS 11. So much so that I did not update my iPad because I love this game. Yesterday I saw the updated version and was so happy but this game is not the same. It looks the same and plays the same but the incessant and ridiculously LONG ads are crazy, they are NOT a part of the previous version AND my years worth of game center stats did NOT sync into the update so I am basically starting all over if I choose to play this new version on my phone. Too many ads, and doesn’t sync. Please fix this so we can all continue enjoying this app as we have for so many years.

THEY RUINED IT!!. I just updated my iOS and therefore had to update Word Warp. The new version is a travesty. As others have noted, ads pop up literally after almost every game. This interrupts concentration and flow and is downright abusive. I have never seen a game exploit its players this badly. I delete the ads without even looking at them, deliberately, and will continue to do so until Word Warp decides to be more intelligent and humane about this. It would be one thing if the ads popped up every 10 games or so. But not this. I would also pay for the game rather than have to suffer through these stupid ads.

Used to be Really Good, But Turned Into Junk. Liked this so much that I got the paid version years ago. Since then they dropped the paid version and reverted to ads. Bad enough, but recently the ads cannot be shut down even after waiting through their blaring, childish blast of sound. The only way to shut the ads off is the force the app to close then reopen the app, letting more ads play again, until they finally quit. Often it takes several forced closes before I can get the next set of letters. Looking for a better word game, sad, especially after having paid for ad free. Compare the above to my prior review below. It's a challenging and entertaining way to pass time, and a bit addicting as well, but really good at exercising those synaptic memories and channels. Only con is failure to include many modern American English words and conversely to use too many archaic words never used.

Noisy ads have made this unacceptable. I’ve played this game for a long time. Tolerated original ads, then more frequent ones, then ads with sound tracks that could be turned down or off. But noisy ads that are inflicted on people around me have pushed me to delete this game. Too bad. I love it but I’m done. I wrote the above review a couple years ago. They fixed the mute button and I downloaded the app again. Now the mute button doesn’t work - again. I don’t want to hear the ads or the game noises. With this last update, the look of the board is different. The letters are much larger and that is distracting, probably the desired effect. So I’ve deleted the game again.

Loved it for years. This has been my favorite solo go to word game for years but they have just updated the app and now it stops working every single time. I have deleted it and re-downloaded it twice with the same outcome. They had a good thing, not sure why they had to change it.

Addictive, with a huge problem. I love this app, play it many times daily. But honestly, please be warned: the edition with ads in it does not care one tiny bit that you have the sound turned OFF on your mobile device. THIS APP DOES NOT RESPECT THAT YOU WANT SILENCE!! Out of nowhere, you will get loud clanging slot machine ads and other ads that come screaming out of your phone! So don’t use this app in a classroom, no matter how boring — EVER! You will be so busted! Got a sleeping baby or toddler? Forget about it! They will jolt awake crying from the totally annoying loud ads, even with the sound muted on your phone. To the makers of this app: seriously, people! You have a great word unscrambling app that you have managed to screw up. Please get a clue and respect silence when people mute their phones. Honestly.

Word warp. I want the sound off on the game and on all of the ads so I can play anywhere without disturbing others, such as a Doctors office waiting room, or in the exam room while wiating on the doctor or while my husband is watching sports ....I’m bored to tears so instead I will play word warp. He will be upset if the ads were playing every 2-4 minutes!!!! Please return the option of Being able to disable/turn off the sound ALL of the time, not between each new set of letters. Please help me play continually with no sound. I would rate the old game and settings a 5......now I could only rate it a minus 5. Thank you.

Upgrade made things awful. This has been my favorite game for over a decade. I try not to upgrade because it usually makes things worse, but I was forced to with an operating system update. Sure enough, my favorite game is ruined. The game no longer recognizes when I touch a letter, so it’s no fun trying to create words when every other letter doesn’t register. And “visual improvements”? It was better the old way. Lastly, the ads that used to pop up were often static; now every single one is a timed video. Why don’t you want us to play and enjoy this game?

What?. I honestly don’t understand the complaints. This game is awesome and trying to achieve new high scores is so addictive. As far as some complaints go, this game seems to be linked to an English language dictionary and you can click on words at the end of each round to learn words you might not be familiar with. If you’re not great at spelling or have a narrow vocabulary then this game might be frustrating.

Too many ads. I would gladly pay for no ads. I used to love this game but as others have stated there are too many ads. After every single game I play an ad pops up. I’m quitting until this is fixed. It’s really overkill. Some ads stay on and you can’t dismiss them until the time counts down. Now running 2 ads and have to click 3 times to close them. If you don’t tap on the exact small spot it takes you to the store. They must be making loads of advertising money. I think they would make more if they offered the no ad option. Waste of my time.

Turn the app’s data off to avoid ads. The game is great, but wow the ads are horrible. Turn the app’s data off in the phone’s settings and only play when you’re not on wifi and you can just click through without getting your ears blown out or watching some candy crush knockoff.

My favorite game. If you enjoy making words, this will be your favorite game… The only reason I didn’t give it five stars, is because recently the ads don’t always give you the option to mute the sound. This can be very embarrassing if you are playing the game on your phone or in a public place. I truly wish this could be resolved. Otherwise, I love, love, love this game! I just wish I could play it in public!

Don’t like the new update. With the 3.4.1 update, the fun of building words has been taken away. I downloaded this program to build words upon words using the same letters, just rearranging them. With the new version you only get one shot. That has taken the joy away from what I enjoy as playing WordWarp. I will be one of those persons looking for another puzzle. I had WordWrap for at least six years and was very pleased. Now I am avoiding it because the many choices to build words have been taken away.

Totally ruined this game. It was a great game, but apparently new developers acquired the game and completely ruined it. Some of the “updates” changed the fonts and the touch sensitivity, but more importantly changed the order in which the letters repopulate once a word is selected. This change throws the whole intuitive feeling of the game and makes it confusing at best. Sad, because this game was actually a good mental exercise...

Miss the old typeface. I have been playing this game for years though have had less time lately. I just opened it for the first time in a bit and have to say I do not like the new typeface. It sits awkwardly in its alignment in the boxes and is more harsh on your eyes. I also definitely echo the sentiments of others in that the ads are longer and more frequent than they used to be. I think I spend more time watching ads than I do on actual play time.

Why the changes?. Agree with other poster about letters staying fixed. Slows down the flow and is distracting. But the biggest bummer is now there are series of games with only one word. Game after game. How can you get past these easily without having to either play or manually skip each one? I much prefer longer word lists and bring able to figure out the answers alphabetically. I am considering deleting entirely if this doesn’t change. Would’ve rated it a 5 before these changes. Very frustrating :(

Advertisers Beware. I just want advertisers to know that I will NEVER purchase or even investigate your products. When I purchased this app years ago it was ad free. Then the developer did a bait and switch and did away with purchased apps, replacing them with the current version. I enjoy the game and will wait a few seconds to close an ad, but for those of you who run ads of 30 seconds or more, be aware that I close the app immediately. If I open it and the same 30-second ad appears, I close the app again. I repeat this until a quick 5-second ad appears then continue the game.

Ads ruin this game - runs iPhone hot. I used to love this game, but loud ads now playing after every single game, and you have to wait to click out of them is more than just an annoyance. This company completely ruined this game. I would have paid a buck or two to remove the ads, like other apps, but I don’t see this offer anywhere to pay to remove ads. My phone gets so hot now running this app with the loud ads, I’m not sure why, but it’s very odd and clearly taxing on my iPhone. Unfortunately, this app is now unusable and I’ll be removing it from my phone to search for something similar without ads. It’s unfortunate, I had really liked this game.

Word Warp. I don’t like the new updated version. The letters are way too large and hard on the eyes. It’s all askew. Plus, it never w makes a little weird sound when you move the letters. It’s very annoying. I have “mute” off, but that annoying bleep sound won’t turn off. I wish you had left it alone. It would be great if you could put back the original letters; the new ones are too distracting.

Was a favorite app.... This used to be one of my go to apps but just like other apps has turned into a pile of poo. Adding so many annoying and useless ads that yes are loud. I’m pretty sure I paid money a long time ago to not have ads and now I have to take more time to bark up a tree to fix it? No, delete! I get it that companies need to make money but I’ve already fished out money to you. If someone likes an app and the company puts the customer first? Guess what, that person is likely going to go there first for other apps. But not with ‘the jamb more adds at them strategy’. Not good business.

Wow!. (EDIT: So after deleting and reinstalling 3 different times I got the app to finally work right. Don’t know why the letters are so hard to click now, but I can live with it. Thanks for responding, reminded me to update this.) I thought bow masters was the worst update to a game but then Word Warp said stand back. You took a simple, clean, fun game that was a go to for many and made it trash. Score just freezes at a point, letters return in crazy ways, hate themes, key accomplishments are gone. Just Wow!

Not Worth the Ad Interruptions. I completely agree with the previous review. I love this game. I purchased the previous version to avoid the ads. Then when it was finally updated, only the free version with ads is available. Come on. The assumption must be that they make more on ads than to charge for the game. Not to mention those who did purchase the game are tossed aside. Now there are at least one and often two ads between rounds. Good game but not worth the interruptions. Ps. I’ve now deleted the game. The ads are now videos that won’t let you “x” past them for 5-6 seconds. Too much. So sorry, but good bye.

Word Warp. I actually really enjoy playing this game. I don’t like the very recent changes to the game. The letters are harder to read(I.e. too skinny and too big) and they changed some games to guess just the 6 letter word. When I have gotten the word sometimes it awards 0 points. Very confusing, I wish they would change it back. I think the old version is much better, but I would suggest that you give a bonus for getting all of the words correct.

Dead to Me. I used to play this game every day. It was the game I played more than any other and I bought the premium version when it was offered. Now the only version that works on the latest iOS software is the ad-supported version. I was annoyed but I can handle a few ads. No. This game now plays an ad after every single round. Every round. This is not acceptable. First they discard the version I actually paid for and now the game has become unplayable. I actually waited to upgrade my iOS because I knew I would lose this app and didn’t want to. Now I’m just angry at what it’s become. You’ve lost a really loyal customer.

Liars and theives. UPDATE: they have not started running ads DURING the game! That makes this timed game unusable. You can’t get on a roll as you lose any momentum you gained when interrupted. Makes it impossible to improve your skill. REALLY BAD! I used to like this app. It was a good thing to do while waiting in line. BUT, the ads got out of control so I paid for the “no ad” upgrade. However, they didn’t upgrade the paid for app for the new Apple iPhone operating system. They did for the free one with all the adds. I sent 2 emails but they refused to respond to me.

Liked the old interface better. I was quite adept at this game and then they changed the interface. When you complete a word, the tiles don’t go back the way they use to. Because I’ve played this fir so long, my fingers were just used to how the tiles would return after pressing Got It. It also seems the tiles aren’t as sensitive as they used to be and I have to take more time to press them harder. I guess I’ll get used to it but don’t understand why they changed it.

Great Game, Horrible Ads. One of the best word games out there—always challenging, addictive BUT: 1) It’s beyond annoying to be forced to watch an ad after every set (and the ads are ridiculously repetitive—why show the same ad hundreds of times when it’s clearly of no interest to the target?). I would happily pay $10 for a completely ad-free version of this game. 2) They need to more rapidly update, expand their word list. Lots of common, non-slang words are left out.

Continually going downhill. I've played this game got years. Happily paid for it when that was an option. Then they ignored their paying customers and changed to only an ad-supported version. Now they've inexplicably changed the look of the game (new fonts, different sizes) out of the blue and changed functionality. I like to alphabetize the letters when I get stuck, to help work through possible words, but now the letters go back to some random order instead of staying in the order of your last guess. Now it's just annoying to play, plus ads between every round.

Can’t Pause Timer. I like this game very much however I’m disappointed with this update. The new look is not appealing but I guess I’ll get used to it. What I cannot get used to is that I can no longer pause the game by touching the countdown timer. I play while I’m waiting for appointments or picking up my kids at school and can’t always finish each game, so I would pause and return to it. I also don’t like that the letters don’t shuffle on their own after spelling a word and that I have to manually shuffle. I can live with that I suppose, but not without pausing the timer. If that can’t be fixed, I guess I’ll delete the app.

You’ve ruined it. The update today should have been optional. Moving the letters around after each answer might be enjoyable for some, but I find it just annoying. I understand you needing advertising, but continually forcing us to watch the entire ad now is awful. It takes 2-3x longer to run the ad than it takes to play the round itself. All for an item that I would never dream of purchasing. Please bring back what you had. I would also add that I’ve noticed the keys are less responsive as well when trying to answer. There is a bad lag resulting in incorrect responses that I’ve never experienced before.

What’d You Do?!?!?. I’ve played this game off & on for years, so I don’t know how you managed to do it, but the game is not functioning properly on all aspects. From typing not working to scoring malfunctioning to the same game repeating itself to the word board disappearing! I mean, seriously, what’d you do?!? 🤯 You’ve done two recent updates after not doing any in forever. I always live by if it’s not broken don’t fix it. Bcuz now you broke something that was working & fun to play. 😣 Btw, if you’re going to update anything after all the years, for the Love Of God give us some new game face choices!!’ The old ones are just sad! 😔

Used to be great. Really disappointed in the changes when they updated for the new OS. I originally paid for the app but the upgrade was free. I loved the game so I did the update. Big mistake. The game is the same, but there are ads after each game. More than one! I keep my phone in silent mode, so the noise is not a problem for me (a complaint of another reviewer), but the ads are enough to make me switch to Word Scramble because it has no ads!

Boo for update. I used to love this game. I was totally addicted. It is a simple word scramble game in a neat format. Then, the creators gave us the first update in 35 months, designed to "optimize the gaming experience." As for as I can tell, the only update is more advertisements. Before the update, I could play and receive one advertisement about every 10 minutes. Now, there is an ad after completing each round of play. There is no discernible increase to the Word Warp dictionary or "word pool." There is no updated graphic content or sound effects. Just more ads; a LOT more ads. Boo!

Touch keypad frustrating. I’ve played this game for years. A recent change makes the keypad very frustrating as you have to press each letter on the key pad carefully too connect. Also the font size change seems too large. I’m willing to pay a nominal sum upfront to eliminate the frustrating ads. I had done this years ago but that had been eliminated shortly thereafter and I some how lost that perk. I know this is how you make money and I understand that.

Ruined!. I understand the need for ads in free games. Unfortunately, the developers opted to allow ads between EVERY level. I can even understand this, to a point. However, many of the ads here are absolutely grating and obtrusive due to very loud music, loud voices and other loud gaming sounds. Mute the sounds you say? I already have the sounds turned off in the game. Worse, the controls to finally move past the ad are often hidden or non existent. To the developers - thank you for the years of enjoyment. But I’m done with this. You took something that is understandable and reasonable, and made it unbearable and unpleasant.

Today’s update broke the app. So I updated today and as soon as I hit play to continue my game, an ad pops up and will not let me close it. Restarted app and the same thing happens. Already didn’t like the constant ads. Now the ad model at the start of a game locks you out of playing at all. No longer impressed by the “development” of this once wonderful game. Take the ads away. I paid for the game originally without all the ads. You should have an ad-free paid version. It’s not like you update the app regularly with new features - just more intrusive ads. Think I’ll kiss this app goodbye. Such a shame.

Two ads after each round.. I used to love playing this game. Previously they would run an ad after a few rounds, which wasn’t too annoying but I paid a one time fee to get rid of them. After the latest iPhone update, the app refused to open. Instead of updating the original app, the developer abandoned it and made customers download a new version of Word Warp. This version makes you watch not one, but TWO ads after EACH round. Greedy and dishonest to force customers who paid to get rid of ads to download a new version of the game with even more ads than before.

Paid for and was deleted. I live this game, play it more than anything. I paid for the version so I would not get the pop ups. After I paid apple said it was no longer supported. Funny thing is the other version with adds still runs on apple but the paid for version does not! I still love the game just not the way apple did me wrong. I paid for the game and it was no longer supported as well. Still played it through the ads but now it is slower and won’t recognize when I push letters and lags. Really disappointing
