Why Capcom. This is a great game, and I have thoroughly enjoyed playing it. But having it now require an internet connection in order to play an offline game is absurd. Capcom is only hurting their paying audience by doing this. I will not be purchasing any future games from them until they revert this.

Too bad…. I would love to be able to say that this game is awesome but I have not been able to even download it on to my laptop. I have over 100 GB free on my MacBook but every time that I try to download this game it tells me that there’s not enough space to download which clearly isn’t true! This makes me sad because I’m a huge fan of the Resident Evil Franchise. Oh well.

Get rid of internet requirement. Unacceptable to require an internet connection to launch these games. I bought RE4, RE7, and RE8 for my Macbook and iPad specifically so I can play these games on the go. I wish I could return them all. I am very upset at this move Capcom.

needs internet and icloud drive. fails to launch if you don't have both, don't see why as its an offline game. Should probably tell you this so you don't waste your time downloading it.

Fan-Tucking-Fastic Job Capcom. Very good horror game that you can now play on the go, that’s really cool. RE Village has been out for over half a year on iPhone/iPad/Mac but this is still really impressive. I also like how Capcom isn’t just porting the game 1 for 1 and instead adding menu’s you can use with touch controls without having to use the virtual controllers, great quality of life improvement over RE Village. My only real complaints are that the auto iCloud syncing is a bit bugged, but the manual works just fine, and the lack of in depth graphical changes like in RE Village that let you choose what you want to be higher res or lower. It also doesn’t have an FPS limiter where I can set it to be 30, 60, 120, or variable like RE Village which I’d like to see added. Oh yeah and turn off the motion blur, its insane how disorienting it is. The game is very stable as well, barely if any frame drops in my few hours playing from 60 FPS and no crashes. One bug I did see was the same cutscene lip syncing problem that was prevalent in RE Village, specifically on iPhone, and Mia’s hair bugging out occasionally. All in all it’s great value for only $20, very impressive, very scary atmosphere, gonna play the whole thing 100%.

The worst！. This game gave me a terrible experience. I wasted a lot of time searching for items, and the gameplay is poor. The developers’ design approach seems to be focused on making the players as confused and frustrated as possible.

Shameful. I bought it on day 1 to support. Then after an update they now require an internet connection. I would never have bought it if I knew. Is this even legal? To change the requirement to play a game after you have purchased it ? Shame on both Apple and Capcom. This is anti consumer

I bought all of the resident evil games and now I need an internet connection.. One star for them all. This is terrible I’m on a non cellular iPad Pro max latest model I already have all the games on consoles and bought these to play on the go offline. I feel like I have been ripped off. I’ll never buy another I tell you that.

Auto save has bugs.. After you reach check points, the auto save icon still circles. If you go to settings, the whole game will freeze when you come back. Please check it. By the way, the whole game is amazing!

Amazing. I cannot believe that I am playing this on my phone. Looks amazing, controls (with a controller) perfect. No glitches or overheating. Very happy to support capcom on this quality port.

Looks Good But…. I love this game on console but my only issue is that it’s in French! If I could change that the game is 1000% just as good as it is on ps5 and etc. I wish I can import some of my console games to the apple os but I think apple doesn’t allow you to access it to your account!

Great graphics. Perfect! Even better than windows in the same config. More stable and better frame rate thanks to apple silicon.

Happy Yet…. I am honestly glad Resident Evil has made its way to iOS. I just wish I didnt have to always restore purchases when I boot it up. Its frustrating when I need to have an internet connection for that instead of having it just verified once. It kills me when I have to fly on a plane and I cant even relax with this. Please address it if possible Capcom.

Internet connection is required when starting the game. Thanks capcom and apple for making this game unplayable during a long flight where internet connectivity is often limited. Completely deystroy the only selling point these games have - ability to play on the move, on Mac, iPad, and iPhone. Congratulations on killing ios gaming before it even started. A for effort

Horrid graphics, NOT free. Let me first say: I sometimes can understand when a company or individual sets the price for an app to $0.00 not as a way to provide the app for free but to allow customers to get an actual feel for the app before putting down money. However, the way they do it for Resident Evil 7 is messed up. Listed as "Free" on the App Store, their website and in other places but it's NOT free. They let you play up to the first chapter then you HAVE TO pay. Secondly, the graphics on this game are so incredibly bad. Like, the resolution is surprisingly good (inanimate objects appear very clear) but the people in this game... they remind me of Chuck E Cheese's band -- signing on stage, their mouths moving in complete disconnection to any words being said. I gave this game 2 stars because it's actually VERY scary, at least for me. I don't play these kinds of games often and it had me shakin in my boots. I'd play the game if it wasn't free, but not before they fix those graphics. I can't stand watching a character with their mouth randomly moving up and down, teeth showing, no facial expressions, staring into the game's "camera", exclaiming things like "we've gotta get out of here!!!".

Terrible experience with DRM. This is a single player game. But after the update, it has to be online all the time. I don't get it. Sometimes when the connect is bad, the game is not playable at all (it keeps creating the pop-up and that's no way to solve it). Why capcom don't just improve the game optimization for iOS and don't do this silly thing? No one will buy it if the experience is getting worse and worse.

AMAZING graphics on my macbook air M1.. Thanks for this apple and capcom, one of my favorite games and it runs flawless.

Internet required for single player??. This review pains me. I patiently awaited the release of these three Resident Evil games, bought each of them at launch, and keep checking back for the release of Resident Evil 2. You just updated them to REQUIRE an internet connection for a SINGLE PLAYER game. This makes NO sense, and makes the games quite unplayable for the way I play them (away from WiFi). CHANGE THIS BACK to how it was before, or I not only will boycott RE2, but the rest of your games too. Ridiculous!!!

Refresh Purchase?. If i could return my his life would. I enjoy the game and its a good way to get through cardio or long flights and now i have to not only refesh my purchase every time i boot up the games (re7,4,and village) but it won't work if I'mnor connected to the internet. If we buy a game especially paying between $20-40 we should own it and not have refresh the purchase or wait for internet when its already on my phone. I hope capcom resolves this, it’s very annoying

Great Game for MAC !!. I love resident evil 7 bio hazard played All the resident evil games including village I like Village’s Storyline A bit better but Biohazard Has A Really great Story As Well.

iCloud and cross platform play. You can pick up on your iPhone and iPad while on the road and play where you left off from your Mac. This is a welcome surprise. The game runs great. Capcom, bring us more games to Mac please.

TERRIBLE! No Offline Play!. I’m so upset and disappointed that Capcom requires now internet connection to play. You pay $50 for a game that can’t even consider when traveling. I purchased all 3 of the Resident Evil games and now I WILL request a refund. This needs to stop!

Bring us more games like this!. I am absolutely blown away at the quality of this game running on Apple silicon. Now, if game studios could release AAA games like this on the same day as their PC/console counterparts, gaming on Mac could replace the need for consoles or a gaming PC. Bring us more.

REMOVE ONLINE REQUIREMENT!!!!. This game would be amazing if it didn’t require an internet connection to launch. I paid good money for it for my macbook pro and cant even play it on the road. Very dissapointing from Apple. Will not be buying games that need internet connection in the future.

Can’t even buy the game. Went to buy the game but the new internet check update prevents me because it looks for a purchase that you make through the game! I even deleted my save data and it still got caught in a loop. In trying to prevent piracy you instead prevented a legit purchase.

Couldn't Get Game To Work. After installation, the game wanted me to log in with my Apple ID, but it rejects the password (which is correct - I'm able to log into Apple on my browser). I don't have all day to install a game, so I uninstalled it. Too bad; I was looking forward to playing.

Requires online to play…. So… a single player story game now requires online. Good luck getting on a flight to play, a waiting room, grandmas house. Whatever. It just will not let you pass the title screen. Ridiculous

It Freezes a lot. Love the game, however it freezes a lot. Mainly when it is loading. If i change settings or I die it just stays loading. Hope it is fixed soon.

Freezes during videotapes. I purchased the game and keep encountering a bug where the game freezes everytime I try to exit a VHS to continue the game. The game is phenominal, however it will just progress any further. :(

Internet connection required for start up. Why is an Internet connection required for start up every time you launch the app? Please change it back. Don’t punish honest customers.

Capcom rdm. The game was perfectly playable for months offline and the capcom decides to add rdm to a game that totally playable offline, really dum and stupid decision, I live in a island were power outages are daily and can last for weeks, now because of this update I can’t even play the game in such a ocasion because of the new rdm implementation, really bad decision and really ati-consumer move.

Great game. Story is nice, resident evil games always fun. Just note that on steam this same game is usually around 10 bucks, while on App Store for Mac the price is 20 bucks not including dlc

On the go resident evil. I’ll admit that I was skeptical about this, how would this even work? Is my phone going to feel like a volcano? Well yes, it does when I play re7 and sometimes the game lags a bit from the areas that have to be loaded in, which I don't know how that works considering I have re7 on performance and it's on the lowest resolution. But it's resident evil, ON THE GO! I have to expect some technical and performance issues because I'm playing it on my phone. Even with all the negativity I said, it is such a shame that I can't have all my DLCs from Xbox transferred over here because I would love to play some Jack’s 55th birthday right now. In general, the game plays well considering the expected performance issues and it's a miracle how the people at Capcom and others ported this to Apple. Quite a feat.

good game but. now with this new update you have to have an internet connection to play and its not working with icloud diver for some reason but other then that amazing game a play i use a macbook air m2 and it runs Great with decent graphics and no overheating I would give it 5 stars if they would fix the iCloud Drive and that you wouldn't need an Internet connection to play

This is amazing!!. Runs mostly at 60fps on iPhone 15 pro max this is mind blowing!! Loving the game and loving the fact that i can play this on the go anywhere anytime🤯 Just finished the game i cant believe how smooth the game was running and the graphics everything was perfect!!

No iCloud Drive Data Found. There were two questions about replacing previous data on other devices, which I selected yes since I only have an iPhone and there was no previous data. The next screen says, “No iCloud Drive Data Found. If you continue to play in this state, your progress may not be properly recorded. Continue playing regardless?” Then there are options to select yes or close the app. I deleted the app twice; and, after downloading the 10GB, the same message comes up immediately. I have iCloud and plenty of free space. Didn’t have an issue with RE4 or Village. Don’t know how to precede. Any advice would be appreciated. Will change review when this is fixed. Thanks.

9.5/10 Mac Port with Better HDR Support. This game runs incredibly well. If you're in the mood for an action adventure-type game with some horror and stealth elements, this one is a modern classic. Runs surprisingly well on all  Silicon macs, and I much prefer playing this version over the ones on a Windows PC. HDR support and color management in MacOS is significantly better than on Windows, and that carries over into this game. The colors, dark and light areas of a given scene, and peak brightness shine through brilliantly on the MacBook Pro's HDR display. There are some frustrating points that I understand. There is DRM present in this game and that kind of makes it annoying to play offline (I couldn't play once when I was on a road trip because there was no internet but I'm not sure if this was just a one time fluke)

Thank you Capcom!!. I have played Resident Evil Village, Resident Evil 4 remake and now Resident Evil 7: Biohazard. I enjoy playing all three games on my MacBook. I can’t wait till Resident Evil 2 remake is released as I will nearly have all the Resident Evil games with the RE engine. Thank you so much Capcom for allowing the opportunity to play these games on Apple devices. I do wish however that Resident Evil 3 remake is added as well. That will fully compete my collection!

Not bad. I like the nostalgia I brought. I do wish the progress could be somehow be saved in the Hard Drive vs. ICloud.

Game won’t get past first launch.. Have the game installed on an external drive through the App Store. The game won’t connect to iCloud Drive and also won’t refresh the purchase history. The only option from there is to close the game. I have deleted the game and reinstalled it with no difference in results.

Texture Issues with Samsung Ultrawide 32:9 49". When textures are lighten up an error appears like a reticule that affect drammatically the quality of the overall graphics. The game is fluid but this issue is preventing me from buying it. Inside the villa where no sunlight is available eveyrthing looks fien. it is a pity. Please, fix it and I will buy it imemdiately. My rig is a MacBook Pro 16 M1

Shame!. So they crippled the app so it no longer works offline? Only to punish the people that bought the game, while the pirates they were trying to punish are able to continue playing the game offline? Shame on them!

Five stars!. There was only one part of the game I thought couve have been better as far as QC goes. Over all Teriifying! I avoided playing this title for along time for lack of want to play a run and hide game as i thought it was based on the trailer, but ut us RE through and through. It goes back to the tone of the first 2 games in the franchise as far as not an action arcade game but a survival hoprror games GREAT JOB DEVS! Runs wide open on M3 max flawlessly! best re experience yet. I have not played village yet.

Internet Required to Start Up the App Every Single Time!. What a hostile and pointless change to a great game. Why do I need to go online to check app purchase history every single time I start the game? This isn't an online only game.

Runs flawless- they’ve done it again except….. Runs flawlessly and is a true joy to play. Would be well worth the $20….. if you didn’t demand constant internet connection to play a single player horror game. Makes a true mobile port feel like a cheap gimmick. Can’t play it while traveling anymore, can’t play it in dead zones anymore, can’t play it if the WiFi cuts out. This was my go to game series while traveling, but I’ll have to find another. You guys really dropped the ball on this one, big time. I’m honestly embarrassed to have recommended this game series to as many people as I did. Didn’t anybody learn anything from Xbox’s blunder with the Xbox one announcement? NOBODY wants single player games to require an internet connection, and that goes triple for mobile gaming. It’s in the name. “Mobile.” Makes Capcom feel like a whole different company. Where they felt to me before like the company that would push to make ports and experiences to bring joy to their consumers, now they just feel like another generic big corp making things as anti-consumer as possible for the extra dollar. Feels like I don’t even own this game, since Capcom won’t even trust us to play games we paid for. It leaves me feeling slimy that I recommended them to anybody. Went from one of your biggest fans, to someone who won’t be buying another Capcom game anytime in the future. Do better or get out.

‘Failed to refresh purchase history’. I can’t even start this game up on my Mac mini with M2 Pro. I get to the point where it asks me to refresh my purchase history. Every time i choose yes, it just gives me the error ‘Failed to refresh purchase history’ If i choose no, the game quits out on me. I love Resident Evil but i wish I could even start this game!

Impeccable port!!!. Stunning graphics, high resolution (900p), high frame rate, almost instant loading of levels. Completed it entirely using touch controls. Very comfortably. Thanks for such a superb experience!

28$ for a mobile game is crazy.. It’s the same price as the pc version and obviously pc is better mobile should be maximum 10$ because of the lack of graphics on mobile give people a reason to chose mobile what’s the point of even getting it on mobile when on pc you can get it for the same price.

Initial bad impressions but they disappeared. I really think the re8 port is what this should’ve been especially since it’s an easier game to run, and when i downloaded the game and connected my controller, there were big input issues, after a day or two I tried again and no longer have that problem, this games is a perfect port, and anyone playing should use the performance option

Wonderful Game!. this might be one of the best games i have ever played, the horror is taken to the max in this game and you will definetly jump atleast 10 times during the main campaign and thats not even mentioning the dlc's. 10/10 good job capcom on the port of this game!

Really Good AAA Game. This game looks ands runs great on my base M1 MacBook Air! No stuttering or glitching at all! I recommend playing this game. If we want more AAA games on Apple devices we need to show game developers that people will actually play and support the games that they port over.

Worth it. Reminded of everything I liked about resident evil village, it’s a fun game and looks beautiful for the iPad Pro m2, but I don’t like and do like the graphic setting choices, it’s similar to resident evil village, but dumbed down quite a bit in choices, still better than mirage, death stranding and re4 for sure, with its graphic choices. It’s not on sale unfortunately though, it said it was going to be.

Get rid of the must be connected to internet!!. You guys need to get rid of the needing to be connected to the internet to play a offline game. There is no need for this and is just plain rude. The game is good, looks goo and plays well. No need to have to be connected to internet!!!

Unnecessary Data Collection. Resident Evil VIII and Resident Evil 4 both show NO DATA COLLECTED. Suddenly with Resident Evil VII Capcom is choosing to collect the following data (as displayed on the store page): Purchases, Identifiers, Location, Usage Data. I purchased both REVIII and RE4 and had a blast. I’m not, however, paying you for RE VII if it’s used to harvest user data. This is a single player game…there is no need for data collection.

Great game and very scary!!. Performance on my M4 iPad Pro run great! Thank you Capcom for porting this to the Mac, iPad and iPhone! Can’t wait until RE2 get release on Apple silicon, hopefully we will get RE2 this year. Thanks again Capcom…. Way to go!!

Scary but AAA great game!. I was hesitant about buying this game at first because it look so scary, but I don't regret buying it at all. The game look gorgeous and run super smooth with maxed setting on my Mac Studio M2 Ultra. For those people saying this game is not worth the asking price and that it's a 7 years old game, just remember that it cost Capcom to port RE7 to the Apple platform. For just one time purchase you get universal purchase for Mac, iPad and iPhone on Apple silicon. If we want more AAA titles on Apple platform from developers, we need to show them that we are interested and will support them for porting their AAA titles over. Thank you Capcom for porting RE7, I owned RE4, RE7, RE8 those are fantastic titles... I'm really excited for the release of RE2. Hopefully RE2 will get release sometime this year. Would be nice if Capcom can port Street Fighter. Thank you again Capcom, keep them coming!!!!

icloud saves are bad. So, I beat the game under 4 hours getting all the Mr. Everywheres to have the circular saw and scroll of defence for madhouse. Beat mad house so I could have unlimited ammo. Turned on icloud so I could have those saves on my iphone as well. Somehow icloud uploaded a way earlier save file. I figured no big deal, I got the achievements. Started a new game and all the unlocked items are now gone. On top of that when I start the game on my ipad I get prompted to log in to my apple account and the game freezes. As cool as it is you can play this game on mobile devices. Save your money.

There is a weird bug. There is a weird bug when you start the game. I managed to replicate it. When you start first the game, and you get off the car after the intro; if you go to settings then graphics and tried going back either using a controller or a keyboard, the game freezes and refuses to go back unless you force quit the game. I'm playing on the highest end 16 inch M3 Max so there is defintely no issue with requirements. Also if you tried changing the refresh rate from varible to 120 it refuses to save that setting for some reason until you turn off VSYNC then it locks to 120. I'm giving 5 stars becasue I know the game runs well from what I've seen online and also to support Mac game developers. Please fix the issue though. Cheers!

New update why?. Every freaking time neads you to sign in with apple id. What is the point of this? this is a OFFLINE game I SHOULD BE ABLE TO play it OFFLINE. Wasted money and no refunds.

Lazy port. This game is fun, but this port is just lazy. Why do the menus have to be TINY on my screen? Why does the game tell me not to turn off my PC when I’m playing on an iPhone? Super lazy of Capcom not to optimize properly for the iPhone.
