Good like the original, needs some improvements. First off, I’ve had fun playing this game so far, I have come across some issues though. By the way fixing these 2 issues will make the game far more enjoyable. 1. The Directional-pad needs improvement on quick movements, changing direction quickly is very difficult and not fluid like it is on the console versions. 2. With that issue in mind performing the hadouken is very difficult, next to impossible. Whenever I have tried to perform the hadouken “naturally”(pressing down-forward-attack button) I can’t because I have to press down first on the D-pad and then the left or right arrow (pending on what direction I want to be facing to hit the enemy with the hadouken) on the D-pad followed by the attack button. Problem is, when I try and press “just the down arrow on the D-pad” I get the left or right arrow on the D-pad to activate along with that which stops me from performing the hadouken naturally, I can’t do that, I have to preform this weird unreliable dance on the D-pad, for example, I have to press left-down-left-down-left-attack button and I “might” perform the hadouken. That example is even less reliable for some strange reason when using the “right” direction on the D-pad. Thank you Capcom for putting Megaman X on the I-Phone. Please fix these issues and I guarantee if you put Megaman X 2-3 on the I-Phone I will buy them in a heart beat. Also put Breath of Fire 1-3 on the I-Phone while your at it, LOVE those games.

DO NOT BUY, THIS IS A CASH GRAB. This is an absolutely TERRIBLE port. I’m a huge mega man fan and instantly bought this but it is complete garbage. The saving function doesn’t work, the screen is so small you can’t see enemies until they are basically hitting you, you can’t see spike pits and other mechanics because the view space is so small, there are a bunch of scene transitions that didn’t exist in the original game that make it feel super clunky. Not worth it at all. DO NOT buy this. Go get an emulator or hit up a local game store if you want to relive the past.

Not bad. Where’s the rest of the series?. This game is not a bad port by means but i feel like somehow even in normal difficulty they have to make this game easier. I’m guessing because of the touch controls. Maybe adding a controller support would be nice. Also, not too long ago Capcom just release the whole X Series on modern consoles and PC, I would love to see at least X2, X3, and X4 on smartphones too, considering Smartphones nowadays are a lot more powerful than they used to.

I need a little bit more content part 2. Here’s more content I want you guys to add 4. z buster part that you get when you skip the buster capsule in Flame mammoth stage and will show a red bullet that is stronger than the pink bullets from the capsule so that the bosses can be easier to defeat 5. The design in 2.5D like in megaman maverick hunter x 6. And the same dialog in megaman mavrick hunter x

Awesome. The game and extra modes are amazing the controls are on point and the old school bgm brings back childhood memories. Would like a snes direct port of the game that would be awesome wouldn't mind paying for it. Or the rest of the x series.

iPhone X support?. Are there plans to have iPhone X support? This game is just amazing. I’ve played and finished it many times since SNES era, and back when it was ported to iOS. I just remembered about this purchase I made years ago and re downloaded it on my new iPhone X and still looks and plays amazing, now even more with this OLED screen. I would love iPhone X support to make use of that extra screen space though.

Great port, now add support for a controller!. Please! I just downloaded this and the onscreen controls are okay for most of the game, but when fighting a difficult boss or jumping across moving platforms, I need to use a controller. Update to support external controllers and get rid of on-screen controls!

Amazing!. Amazing game! I have two things though. 1. When you press the down button it also presses left or right, making it so you have to press under the down button to do the hadoken. 2. Can you make a version with the original graphics? I like the graphics, but you would get better reviews if you used the SNES graphics I would also try making X2 to X8, I’ve had this game for a while and it hasn’t gotten the sequel.

Please add controller support. I bought this game thinking it was going to have controller support,I was going to ask for a refund but I really love Megaman x series so I thought I’d ask. This is awesome but a few problems. I love this game I am A huuuuuge mega man fan I call myself A mega fan I have one problem though Don’t think auto save is A good idea I have lost my data like a million times if you could fix it it would make my day also why just mega man x 1 when there’s a ton of them like mega man x 5 and 4 I would be so happy 😄 but otherwise it’s amazing

Fun. I'm playing this on an iPad Pro and it is a lot of fun. I can't compare it to the original NES game as I never played it, but this version is fun to kill some time with. The game is fixed in one direction which seems to be the wrong one for the iPad but it doesn't matter too much.

Controller support please!. Mega Man X brings back many good and some frustrating memories from my childhood. Now that iOS supports controllers, this game would benefit a lot by using that. Either way love this game and thanks for bringing it to the mobile platform. Cheers

I have an idea. I am a big fan of all the megaman games but megaman X was overall a hundred percent my favorite series. So when I saw megaman X was getting added to iOS I was freakin out! When I bought the iOS version i saw the graphics were intensely good. I mean I do like 8-bit pixelated graphics but that for me doesn’t fit well for mobile. I easily like this better than the 8-bit megaman x. Also the ending is a little different in this one Do not read down if you don’t want to get spoiled X is standing on a cliff looking at the castle break down and fall into water as in the 8-bit version I can’t remember 100% of what happened but I think it just showed x dashing, now this may be wrong so don’t hate on me if it is but what I am trying to say is that the end is a little different. I like this ending better though. Here’s my idea Capcom please make a megaman x2 for mobile that starts close to the end of this one. Because the 8-bit megaman x series games all continue from what happens in the game before it so maybe you could make a slightly different megaman x2 just for mobile. Thanks for your consideration. Looks good but controls are awful.. The controls are absolute garbage. Being able to jump and shoot is next to impossible, especially while wall jumping. If you played this game on SNES then you know how important this is. Also the movement function doesn’t work like a bunch of other mobile games, where if you move your finger slightly off the edge of the move button you will continue to move. In this game if you move your finger one centimeter off the button you just flat out stop moving. Very disappointing I was so happy for a dose of nostalgia from a game I spent 100+ hours on as a kid.

Great Game. When I first got the game, I started playing on normal, cause you know. I ain't no filthy casual! Anyways, the game was fun. The dash so fun to use, and it gave me a way to speed through the game. Finding the secrets were really satisfying, and made me feel good. My only flaw with this game was the length. It took me a day to finish it on normal, along with all of the secrets, including the Hadouken (yes, it's in the game).

This update has compelled me to write a review. Guys. Are you kidding me? You just made the black bars a nice blue. You could’ve tried to put the game controls outside of the actual gaming screen. It’s not like you don’t have a ton of room now!? I get it, it’s an old game. I had zero expectations of you somehow making it wide screen. Give me the controls outside the screen on the next update. This was just silly.

Great game, could be better. I mean it’s mega man x so it’s gonna be good but what hold this game back is the touch controls. For as long as I’ve had this version I’ve never beat it because I’ve just not gotten use to those controls. If you added support for a Bluetooth controller or something then it would be even better. Touch screen directional pad needs some work.

Controller support needed more than ever. The touchscreen controls are hard to use because they are so far towards the middle of the screen. So many problems could be forgiven if MFi controller support was added so the problems with the touchscreen controls could be completely bypassed. I absolutely loved the touchscreen controls of this version of the game on the iPhone 4S’s but with larger phones the game has letterboxing on the left and right sides of the screen and it just stays that way the entire time.

About the port. These 1 star reviews are making me want to roast a reviewer and this is decent so you love it or hate it, it needs to be different like make make the game a port of Maverick Hunter X because Ghosts n’ Goblins: Gold Knights did the same thing but it was removed of the AppStore and I wish I could play that game. The auto charge doesn’t make you crippled because it is difficult to charge and jump at the same time. And this is a short review so here an advice to the haters: F‼️K OFF

Love it. Capcom, I love this game. It will bring people from the 80s-90s who are fans of MM X games nistolga (if that’s how you pronounce it). But why did you have to get rid of the Classic Mega Man mobile games. Also I would like if you’d made other MM X games like X2 or X3. But it’s good the way it is so far. Thank you Capcom for bringing us joy.

Just... Wow.. This was amazing! Capcom put this game into app form with a nearly seamless transition! It’s an updated form of the SNES game with options for difficulty levels, in game purchases, and more cool updates. All I need now is for x2 and X3 to move to mobile and I will have the original trilogy on my phone! Please, capcom, make the trilogy complete!

This game is worth $0.99 cents at most.. I downloaded Castlevania Symphony of the Night from Konami a much more complex PlayStation game for $2.99 and it plays beautifully. I downloaded this megaman x game from snes and it literally feels like something that was rushed and cheaply made. I’d like to kindly request a full refund so that I can update my review due to the terrible de-service and overpriced game with “in-app purchases”. Thank you.

Surprising good in-terms of control, but needs an update.. I was very skeptical about playing this game without a physical controller (the option of which should be added 🙂). However, I was able to control X pretty well without 1. The problem is that the display is very choppy. I am not sure if this is a problem with compatibility with the OS, as it looks like the last update was for iOS 11 & I am on iOS 13. Please fix this issue?

Not what I thought I was buying. Expecting to be able to play retro games on my iPad Pro was too much to ask of this simple title. I clearly saw great rework on the game, but simple functions like, flip screen, when my iPad is clearly using a magnetic stand that is applied to the opposite side than the games screen is fixed, forces me to either play upside down, or close the app entirely. Touch screen is great when app games were first coming on the horizon in app stores, but I think it should be considered to be essential to review the games playability based on touch screen complications vs Bluetooth game controllers that are now being made to look vital for people who want to game on iPads without the hassle of using the touch screen for these titles. Potential, but the head was cut off. But hey the chicken is still good right...?

Legit fun game but unfriendly controls. I contacted app support to get an update that allows for my external controller to work with the game. The screen controls are not user friendly. When the update is available that allows me to use my external controller I’ll be able to really enjoy this game.

Why only touch screen…. I grew up playing Megaman as a kid. I love the series. I grabbed this looking for that nostalgic feeling. But as far as I can see this is a waisted purchase for me only because it’s not controller compatible. I mean seriously a muscle twitch series such as Megaman on a touch screen instead of an actual controller… it’s a massive issue.

It’s kinda playable. Pros: it contains the game and it is able to be played to the end of game. Cons: the frame rate is bad. Looks super choppy. Not formatted for iOS 13 which means you have to use touch screen controls. The buttons are designed for a mobile experience which means auto-shooting and auto-charging. Overall: This game has aged terribly. This would be an amazing experience on the iPhone 3 or iPhone 4, but it is a laughable experience on The iPhone XS Max. However, they (Capcom) would have to rebuild the entire game from the ground up to make it comparable to the SNES version you remember which means it is not gonna happen.

What I think of the game. This is a mostly solid port. First off, the touchscreen controls are OK since I’ve gotten used to them, but people haven’t really been liking them (I think). Some people say the new sprites aren’t good, but I personally like them. It’s kinda like bridging the SNES and the PSP versions together. Also, why are the stages not affected like in the original? Flame Mammoth’s stage doesn’t freeze, so they put the Heart Tank in a different location, and in Sting Chameleon’s stage they filled that one section with water so you could get to the Heart Tank. But otherwise, I like the Achievement and Shop features, so beginners can get an easier start with the shop while veterans can use the Achievements to test their skills. The difficulty levels can let noobs get an easier time or pros can try to beat it on hard. I also love the second soundtrack you can get in the shop. It’s nice how they replaced the original pictures with Maverick Hunter X art, and a little introduction with the words from that game’s opening. Overall, it’s not perfect, but it’s solid.

Love the game but need 2 major updates. I remember having this game as a kid and I loved it. I was thrilled when it came out on iOS. But I am wishing and hoping for 2 updates that would make this game awesome. 1) it need to allow the use of a gaming controller. Not a fan of the on screen controls. 2) make it compatible with Apple TV. If this would happen it would be a 5 star game.

From snes to iOS. Since this is not the original game it can never have a perfect score. Capcom please take off the automatic wall grab that X does this makes the mechanics more difficult. Also beating a boss alters other stages afterwards. This version does not allow it. Capcom fix this too please. I doubt the secret Hadouken is in this version. Overall this game is cool jst difficult to play at some points

No Controller Support. I really enjoy game, and how smooth it runs on phone. I purchased a Gamevice controller thinking I could use it with this game, but it does not. I do not understand why controller support is not enabled, and why Chrono Trigger, Fortnite, and Minecraft work but not Megaman X which would be so simple and yet not there. 3 out of 5 but would be 5 out 5 with controller support.

X2 and x3. I’ve always been a huge fan of megaman ever since I played the original megaman game on the NES and I’ve played every incantation and remastered megaman and megaman x games. They have megaman 1-6 on on phones so I think it would be cool if they could port megaman x2 and x3 on phones also especially since x3 is my favorite of all the x series.

X on a phone !!!. First let me start off by saying capcom ported this game nicely unto a mobile device. X controls the same as he did in the Ames version (mostly), and the music is unchanged from the original. However I still do have gripes with not necessarily the game itself bu the limitations of the devise itself. Megaman is not well suited for a touchscreen game and as such I found myself having a hard time climbing ladders and unintentionally getting hurt. Also I've noticed that there is a transition screen in the stages which made backtracking impossible. And finally the background is sometimes missing certain elements like viles ship in spark mandrills stage. Overall, however, this is one of the best ports that I've played on the Mobile platform and I cannot wait for x2

Amazing. So great to play this again on iphone X after all these years. Had no problems with the controls. Im not sure if it was made easier or i just wasnt good at playing it when i was younger but i was able to beat the game this time. Please make X2 and X3!

This game is, perfect 5 Star!. I don’t see the problem, with the controls, every single aspect of this port is epic. I own the original for SNES, love this version. Worth every penny, if you love mega man push the buy button. Unless you are a novice mega man x player.

How to fix something not broken.. Its an okay game but its not an improvement of the original. Graphically, it tries to improve sprites that didn’t need improving but the lack of cohesive scrolling from place to place in level that the old game has is kinda sad. Also the screen size real estate doesn’t give you much room. A standard emulation of that game on iOS would’ve been fine. This seems like an attempt to fix something not broken. I’m guessing its to counter iOS limitations but it seems so meh.

Some have called this a port, it is at best a nod.. The best thing about this version is the music. You immediately hear familiar sounds but the visuals are not as familiar. The screen size and the proportion of X to the level is off. I could be wrong but I remember the camera scrolling more smoothly with X on other versions. In this version you move X from the left edge to the right edge and then a new segment again. It looks abrupt and weird. The proportions of the controls should be adjustable but in this game they are not. The controls are too opaque and large. There are some control placement presets available to select from. The controls would benefit from more customization options. For sale in the in game store are all the enhancements you can normally collect in the game. In the game store they are sold separately or in a bundle of all. Mastered BGM is also sold. I intend to earn the enhancements through gameplay and listen to the music through gameplay. I do not intend to put any more money into this game. I am a bit disappointed with it. I am however impressed with the lack of data collection. That was a selling point to me. More companies should just sell you the product without collecting your information. Capcom did that part right.

Amazing game. The game is so classic but brings hd which is cool it’s also not too hard but just right difficulty in normal and the boost oh Megaman is it good and fast, good for the flame mammoth level to. The only thing I have to get use to which is fine but I was expecting the slide but overall it is a great game for me and great for passing time with the easy chill penguin level. Capcom good Job :)

Pretty good but No Auto Save ??. So far I love the games graphics and everything but for some reason I can’t figure out a way to save I’ve completed the first few levels and when I got on it later it completely started me from the beginning. This is the 2nd time this has happened. FIX IT PLEASE!!!!

Awesome. This game is literally everything I could want for an “I have like 100 hours on my hands how do I use them” kind of game, just I play it even when I do have something to do. I could probably go on a lot longer about how amazing this whole game is but then the review would be really really long. The only suggestion I would make for this game is that if you get all the achievements you get like a special achievement or some kind of trophy on the achievements screen or something

Satisfying enough. Despite some drawbacks, this game delivers some great nostalgia for anyone familiar with it, although a bit less satisfying than the original, its mostly enjoyable for a couple bucks. A few drawbacks: - music doesn’t play without headphones :( - controls less than ideal. Charging xbuster is automatic, which is more annoying that you might think. Dash/dodge and jump can be painful, especially at first. The Face is arguably the hardest enemy with these controls - no stage effects (when you beat a boss it doesn’t break a related stage) for some reason - a little glitchy and slow at times. Mech suit doesn’t always show up

Lazy iPhone X update. So yes the games isn’t quite what it was on snes but that doesn’t mean it’s bad, controls work well enough. My problem is with the recent iPhone X update. I get using boarders instead of stretching or extending the actual game screen but why can’t I now move the controls over into the boarders? Now I still have the buttons covering the game screen and I have to stretch out my thumbs further to reach them. Being able to move the dpad and buttons off into the space that isn’t being used for anything else would make a huge difference. I will add stars to my review once that happens

Amazing port, well adapted to mobile!. I loved the SNES Verison and thought this port was fantastic. Would love to see the whole series done by the orginal team. The newer iOS remakes are rough and don't control as well. The controls for this game are tight and the assist tools make playing it delight!

Absolutely Amazing!!!!. This is the greatest game ever! I have all the original games, plus Mega Man Zero, and I’ve played them all for a long time. When I got this game on my IPad, I was amazed with the updated graphics. I think it would be great if you did this to the rest of the series! 5 Stars!

Really Great just one small thing.. The controls are great but can you have an update where you can manually hold down the weapon instead of doing it automatically. That's why I had a hard time with the boss. Other than that hope this continues. Until 7 you can leave out 7. :)

I love his game but.... I was so excited to see this game on iPhone. It brings back so many memories of my child hood BUT the only reason I don’t give this a 5 star is because of the controls. There is so much blue screen on each side that u could put the controls to the sides. The controls basically make it impossible to see where I’m at or the bosses of each level are at. Gets omg the way. And maybe it’s me but it doesn’t seem to have good control response.

Its not compatible with Steelseries Nimbus+. I bought this game because i wanted to play it on my new “steelseries nimbus+ controller”. But is not compatible at all! I wonder if capcom will ever update it for iphone xr or new ipad air 2019. I love the game but it is annoying that capcom knows exactly this game came out for snes and always used controller to play it. If you please update the app for the controller system compatibility it will be another story! Thanks for nothing capcom! 😒

Rock on! 🌟🔥. I bought this game when it first came out and I still play it, Megaman is my favorite gaming series and this game is still a blast to play never had any issues within the game or controller wise game works great with touch screen. This is still a great classic, mixed up a bit between SNES and PSP versions. I like the colorful graphics, gameplay and sound track still rocks! I recommend this game highly especially is Megaman fans. The game doesn’t disappoint and it’s a solid version of MMX. Now capcom it’s been a longtime please make X 2&3 or release a X collection that would be amazing. 😎 or better yet bring the legend/Dash series to mobile 😉. Rock on!

Great game missing one thing…. The game looks amazing. But there’s one thing this game is desperately in need of to feel like it was worth the $5 I paid for it and that’s controller support. Why does capcom do this with most of their games. I don’t mind paying but come on these games need controller support because the screen controls just don’t cut it. Help us out capcom!!!! We need controller support ASAP!!!!! Otherwise this game won’t get played as much and that’s just a waste of money for a game that should be free.

Two player. There should be an update on this game for two player mode and I don’t like one player mode I like to play two player mode so can there please be an update for this for two player mode

Keihrfgr. Game way to easy rather just play the original because it's too ezy even on hard mode

It's good but. I really like this game I've beaten it on all modes and gotten all the power ups 3 time one for each but I did have a problem with wide screen it's just zoomed in and like a lot of others have said that's just lazy plus each new area has a pause like megaman classic and that's not the style of megaman x. I recomend this game bumpy not for your first expirenses play the original first then play this this game is wort all the money but don't bye in app perches items if you do then you are obviously not skilled enough to play this game

Honest review. The controls are great, but I think this iOS remake would do a lot better if you released an update that allows you to play the original game if you don't like the new graphics. Most people like to play the game as close to the original as possible. I think making an update with the ability to switch from the new graphics to the classic graphics would be a good investment on Capcoms part.

Very well done. Absolutely awesome to have this classic from the snes revived for the iPad/phone. The separate game save slots replaced the passwords, there is now an easy, normal, hard, mode to entertain all ages. I'd recommend easy for 8yo and under. A few new features like auto x buster charge is a very good feature. Please bring the rest of the mega man x series to iOS please please please

Commendable port of an old classic. Very playable, at first i was turned off by the sectioms being broken up and the fewer animations in the sprites and as one othet reviewer said.. i'm sure the iphone is more powerful than a super nintendo, so why do this to a classic? but that aside, honestly it still feels like the same game, all the music is intact and the graphics are clean. I got my $5 worth.

Letting megaman fans down. Laggy, zoomed screen with controls unnecessarily placed. Not optimized. Improve it or remove it. Try playing the IOS game venture kid for an example of what great controls should feel like in a megaman game.

:). It's strange that the levels are in parts and some of the cool features are missing but I love the original soundtrack (better then the psp remake) I had no problems with this game and it was alot of fun. I would buy X2 and x3 in a second if it ever gets released.

Butchered a classic. As the title of this review suggests, they have ruined what was a great game. The controls are the worst I've come across, the unique graphics are replaced with a bland cartoon style and the gameplay, namely the stupid screen scrolling, is the icing on what is a pretty poor waste of money. If you are a fan of the original franchise, don't bother.

Poor Implementation. All of the original smoothness of this game has been broken down into what feels like a poor flash clone of the original. Nobody wants a remake like this.

Alright. It’s an alright version of megaman x and way better than what classic megaman got on mobile but it’s not as good as the snes or psp versions so I wouldn’t buy it

Good, nostalgic fun.. I loved megaman x as a kid and this game is still fantastic. Whilst it has been dumbed down a bit, it still looks great and runs fantastic. Definetely worth 5 bucks even though i beat it in about an hour. Hanging for x2 and x3 now.

Stupid update. After the new update, my previous game saved had been deleted, have acquired all weapons, healths, subtank, but all gone now. Capcom you should think about this before submitting new update! Have deleted this game!

Cool game. This game is great and lots of fun. The controls are really good and very easy to play with too and there are plenty of settings to get the right setup you like to play. I recommend this game if you like Megaman or side scrolling action and platform games. Thanks Capcom, keep up the good work and keep releasing more iPhone/iOS games.

Not bad. Please update for iPhone 5... Or if your not going to do that at least stretch the picture to full screen so it is actually playable... You cannot charge people money to play a game is not even playable properly

Fix the probs. You just need to fix the frame rate and other things that may be wrong with the title. And you should add dlc to add more bosses and weapons and x2 and x3 to make the game worth the purchase so that this makes even more money

What the?. What type of level progression game, like this one, doesn't have an auto save feature. Beat 3/4 of the game; went back to finish it and none of it had saved. So annoying.

Overpriced, under-developed. This was one of my favourite games on the SNES, but this release is nothing in comparison. Sprites with as few frames as possible, fragmented level segments, and all of the cool moments from the original like the huge jet in the intro stage have been butchered. Plus X can see like an inch in front of him thanks to the zoomed-in screen, which can be altered but is still bad. Why was this watered-down port even necessary? Can an iPhone not handle an SNES game? And the ability to buy every power-up for money? Really, Capcom? Really?

Good till past intro. At first the game seems great till after the intro stage. After that like most old time fans I went for the dash first and found it almost impossible to wall dash or dash jump where it used to be so easy. All in all if you want a basic scroller it is for you. If you want to relive the old X then go back to your snes and you will be happier.

Problem?. I played the game start to end and I have to say, what's the problem? Sure the game has its flaws, but it is definitely not a 1 star game. I for one enjoyed the graphics, achievements, difficulty settings, auto charge and rapid fire. However, there were things I didn't enjoy, such as Mega Man's framerate and the fact that you have to pay to access the arranged soundtrack. I hope in further updates they will improve the framerate issue. Overall I thought it was great and I hope they do this for X2 and 3. 4 stars.

Worse than original. The camera doesn’t scroll very far, and instead cuts to black for a moment, and then to the next scene. Why couldn’t you guys do what you did for megaman mobile? Just make the an almost exact port of the game.

It's not called megaman for no reason. I loved this game especially because you have to gain the power ups and you have to become more stronger through out the game and the game shows you how to play through the first minutes with ease and I liked the controls as well so 5 stars.

Make it cleaner. If you are going to make a Mega Man X2 using this graphic style, make it at the very least cleaner. That aside, fun game.

Worst port. By far, the worst port I have ever played (even the GB port of this game is better lol). Low res graphics, choppy/laggy animations, no videos, compressed music/sounds, bad controls and levels sepereted by different screens. Even the first game in the 90s is better... Get it on snes or psp and keep youre money for a coffee. Destroying a game like this should not even be legal.

A Classic Butchered.. When I saw Megaman X was on sale for iOS I really wished I would have looked at some gameplay videos online before jumping the gun, but I assumed that since it was MegaMan it would instantly be as awesome as the original. I was wrong. Although the screenshots make the game look like its been updated with new graphics, it doesn't make up for the fact that it controls terribly and plays very choppy, even on the newest iDevice. There are so many cons that you just can't find a good point that makes up for the bad points. - Choppy, unfluid gameplay with awful animations - Game doesn't make use of the entire iPad screen so you get a nice thick black border around the game. - Control positions and sizes cannot be adjusted, making iPad gameplay much too uncomfortable - Very lazy use of the text during dialogue, what happened to the font used in Megaman X on SNES? What's even worse is that the side scrolling is constantly broken up into "pages" and not one fluid level like the original. This game is a serious step back from the classic and I would advise anyone against purchasing it, even if it is only for 99 cents. Where are all these 5 star ratings coming from? This re-creation is downright awful.

Amazing!!. This game gets a lot of crap but it actually does the original justice. It runs smooth and the controls are surprisingly good for iPhone. All the stages are present and there’s even challenges to keep the game fresh. The almost cartoony art style may not be for everyone but I feel that it fits well with the game. This game adds in screen transitions that were absent in the SNES version. Whoever chose to put them in made a terrible idea. To add insult to injury the transitions are just a blank black screen. The classic Megaman at least had better transitions...and that was in the late 80’s. There are in-app purchases though, which allow you to get all the armour and weapons before you even start the game. I get that some people just want to experience the game without much difficulty but this takes away from the feeling the original gave you. The original gave you the sense of growth as you gained more weapons and armour, and that feeling becomes absent when buying the micro-transactions. Other than those 2-3 issues this game is pretty good and I think it is worth your money and time. If you’re a Megaman fan and want to have the blue bomber in your pocket or just someone wanting to try it out then I think you’ll enjoy.

Worth the price, but a butchered port sadly. As a hardcore MMX fan, owning the game for the SNES and also the Super Famicom, this game falls short, but we are lucky to even have this available to us. The touch controls are terrible, but its all we have so you will just have to get used to them. I noticed that sometimes you will hit the "jump" button, the button will light up but X won't jump, which killed me a few times while playing through the game.. That to me, is a pretty big flaw, how could they f#<¥ that up? The graphics, in my opinion don't look as nice as the original.. I dunno, they look unpolished, but its doable. First world problems. One thing that was another huge flaw is that beating a particular level will cause another level to be affected (eg. Penguins stage is supposed to freeze Mammoths stage over), however you will not see that in this port. Wtf right?? That was kind of a big deal, if they could do that in the 90's then why not in this generation? One more negative to add is that the enemies are much easier to kill, even on harder difficulty levels, which takes away from the challenge, but with these touch pad controls, maybe its necessary. Also, gamers of this generation don't seem to be as "hardcore", as games back in the day were typically much more difficult and didn't hold your hand with annoying and long tutorials. So there are some problems.. Its not as good as the original MMX, but hey, its still MegaMan X and its one of the best games out there, even today. Its fun, its fast passed and action packed. It has cool bosses, interesting level designs, hidden secrets, upgrades and has one of the most incredible soundtracks of any game. Buy it, play it, and enjoy the ride. If you don't you are missing out.

Terrible. In porting this unbelievably classic game to ios, it was rendered unplayable. Partially at fault are the horrible controls which cry out for the precision of buttons. But that isn't the only problem. The levels have been sliced into pieces. Key artwork is missing making characters appear seemingly out of nowhere. The frame of view has been changed. Don't buy this game from the App Store. Find it on another system and play it there! As an addendum, the above review was originally 2 stars. But now I see that they have added in-app purchases that let you pay money to make the game easier. What a disgusting affront to one of the greatest games of all time. The review is now 1 star. And I wish that I could go lower.

Brings back memories. Needs an update though. Great game and love that it’s on my iPhone. Only thing that would make this game perfect and 5 stars is if they updated it and put the controls on the outside of the playing screen. If the joystick and jump, blaster buttons were on the outside of the playing screen so your thumbs aren’t on the screen you see as you play it would make the game perfect.

This game is crap. The game is awful. Mega Man X was one of my favourite games growing up and this game is just crappy knock off of it. Controls are bad, charged shots are difficult, and stages are chopped up into small mini sections instead on one fluent stage like the original game. Avoid at all cost!

A great classic game with frustrating control. I bought this game a few years ago because it’s nostalgic. The game content is still enjoyable but the developer needs to consider supporting mfi controller. Using touchscreen to control X is a nightmare as the thumb likely miss the up/down or left/right and ruins the movement.

great port but missing one thing.. now with IOS you can connect your xbox or playstation controller up via bluetooth natively. no jail breaking or anything the phone recognizes the device and your on your way. yet this game has no controller support. gta SA supports controller chrono trigger, and FF7 both support controller. STAR WARS KNIGHTS OF THE OLD REPUBLIC supports controller? why in the hell does KOTOR have controller support yet mega man x does not....... please please please push an updating supporting ios 13 and controllers

Not for me. I’ve played Mega Man X for the Super NES & the GameCube, though this is essentially the exact same game it feels entirely different. I’ve found playing this version very annoying. This may just be a personal gripe of mine. If this is your first time experiencing this game you may enjoy it, but with my years of muscle memory dedicated to this game (very sad I know). I simply cannot enjoy this port over to the iPhone.

Needs Bluetooth Connectivity. I bought this game thinking I could use my Bluetooth controller to play...megaman is already hard and it's only harder on touch screen. This game is meant to be played using a game controller. Please add Bluetooth support! Wish I could get a full refund.

Huge Disappointment. Megaman X has a special place in my heart , I’ve played the SNES game countless times , it was one of my first . This feels more like a bootleg than an official product , it’s slow, clunky , and you have pointless and awful achievements showing up every few seconds . The game is segmented into rooms you have to walk out of like an old PC sides scroll RPG.

Angry. I got so far in the game and I went to the main menu because I wanted to play again later, when I came back I had to start all over again. I’m a fan of MMX from the beginning.... And this port is terrible. Obviously there are severe constraints on controls which are the result of the hardware and not the software, but why does the game have to run at like five frames per second? After a minute or two of dumbed down gameplay, you want to stab out your own eyes. Awful awful port. Running it on this hardware in an emulator looks much better.

Touch Screen Controls need work. This was a nostalgia purchase for me. The touch screen controls are lacking though. I deleted the app because I was losing due to simple commands not registering on the controls.

Terrible port save your money. Loading screens every few feet? These were not in the SNES version and playing the real game on iOS emulated has no loading screens either... Controls covering part of the screen when there is all this unused space on a large iPhone is inexcusable. The options set to full screen don’t even use most of the screen space of an iPhone XS Max. ☹️

Fix rotation game play upside down. For some reason this game dose not have auto rotation detection. So the game plays upside down witch is frustrating when playing on the iPad. So I would have to turn my iPad or iPhone the other way around in order to play it the right way. And no it’s not my iPad or iPhone that has it locked on auto rotation. It’s the game it self.

Not designed for iPhone.. First things first the game does not fit the full screen of your phone. I am not using a plus model btw. Also every time I turn the all op I loose all of my past data. I've been playing the same first level over and over. Not impressed and not easy to use.

A for Amazing 🔫🤖X. This game is the perfect example of a good iOS adaptation. You know how Disney reboots some of their cartoons in live action but they’re not any good? Well this is like one of those, but it’s actually good. Also Sigma looks like Buzz lightyear XD
