Hauntingly beautiful game for adults. I absolutely adored Immortality, and playing it is an experience I won’t soon forget. It requires a lot of space on your device, so I had to download it on my iPhone instead of my iPad like I originally planned, which was unfortunate but that didn’t stop me from getting completely sucked in by the narrative(s). I’ve heard playing with a controller is better, but even if you don’t (like I didn’t), it shouldn’t take away from your experience. I don’t want to write too much more because part of what enchanted me so much was that I was not expecting things to happen while I was scrubbing the clips to discover the mysterious disappearance of Marissa. But if you don’t play with a controller, just keep your ears and eyes open. Not for the faint of heart (there’s some adult content) or people who want a game with more gameplay, you are basically watching clips and swiping on objects to match cut you to another clip. But there were parts that were so unexpected and quite terrifying that I never felt bored. I can’t recommend Immortality highly enough; just make sure your device has enough room for it. Oh, I didn’t have experience any bugs like some of the other reviews, and it really just takes a little getting used to the “controls” (how to swipe, pinch, etc. to make different things happen to the video clips).

Awful Interface. I couldn’t get past the really awful interface. And I started to watch a clip and it was SOOO boring.

Honest Feedback. I downloaded this game , unfortunately I couldn't get far as I read the warning , Blamphemy against the Catholic Faith , I'm not Catholic but I'm a Christian Please get rid of this game Also I scroll through the screenshots some of them really bothered me

Technically inaccurate. Hard to watch as someone who is a professional film editor. What was particularly hard to swallow is many of the shots appear shot on HD video cameras and the film look attempt is poorly implemented. Also there’s lots of zooms that technically are not possible on those old cameras, for instance they’ll zoom from crew to film action but in the old days you had to plan and measure zooms, they were very difficult to do on the fly and here obviously they have zoom on assist or they are shooting on a high end iphone. And the stuff that aupposedly might have been taped on high end beta doesn’t look authentic. Lastly as an editor playing this game mostly feels like another day in my career minus the pay. I will give it credit for trying to depict the abuse and sexism in the industry which is often not acknowledged even though its prevalent in modern times.

Bug. Can’t get past opening screen

😭. first it made me delete apps because i didn't have storage.Then it took like 10 minutes to download and once it was done it was just a black screen.I closed and opened the app and now it has to download again.it seems like a really cool game and i wanna play it but it's bugging for me

Amazing Game However Do Not Play on IOS. This game is so creative and innovative but on iOS the game has countless bugs and after so much hard work and investigating the ending cutscene will not show up. I would highly recommend you play this on PC or Console.

amazing. this is not an average game. so if you are looking for something normal this might not be for you. but if you want something innovative, smart, and devastatingly beautiful, try it out. it might not be for you, and if its not? there are plenty of other games out there to try

Unique Game with interesting play. This game encourages the player to sift through scenes from three movies, to uncover what really happened. It is unlike almost any other game, and worthy of a full day of play from an adult. (The content is truly 17+) I enjoyed the mystery involved, and I enjoyed uncovering the story behind the movie scripts. Good acting, interesting characters, unique gameplay - I really enjoyed it!

Marissa possessed with an immortal spirit. The game is about two immortal spirits that possess humans, including the protagonist and eventually you, the player. Lame that you need a Netflix subscription to play.

Cool idea but broken. I really like the idea of this game but it randomly stops responding to any of my inputs. I’ve tried restarting the game but it just does it again after playing for a few minutes.

WAY too much storage. I tried downloading this app, as I am really into mystery and crime games! The app loaded but in game it said it need 10 GB to load the files??!

Broken. I was really excited to play this but can’t get past the tutorial because of bugs. It looks like an incredible game but the actual software is just plain broken and isn’t even a little bit playable.

Interesting but glitchy. Although this is an interesting concept, it’s hard to enjoy it because the app is glitchy and often just stops responding to touch

A few bugs but great game. The gameplay and story are great. Be aware that there is some very explicit content. There has been occasional lagging for me, and I am not able to get any audio unless it’s connected to headphones.

Glitchy!!. I was really excited to download this. However, the glitches and crashing made it unplayable. Super sad because it looked really interesting.

Very buggy!. I cannot finish watching the first clip. It stopped and responded to nothing. And I noticed there are duplicated icon on the UI, and the lower right buttons change randomly.

Disappointing. First of all, 12gb is insanely big for a mobile game. Second of all, the controls are so awkward even after you get used to them. The story is dry and it just isn’t good at pulling in the attention of the player.

Good looking content…terrible controls. After wrestling with the controls for about an hour, I deleted it. Game seemed to be a labor of love, but needs more robust testing. (Test drove the game on an iPad Pro 2022 with the latest iOS under the hood)

Unique and Fun (but seems VERY buggy). I have been playing the game about 5-6 hours and I think I beat it? But I’m not entirely sure because I don’t think the end completely “worked” correctly for me from a technical standpoint (when comparing my ending to videos of the ending online). Also came to find out there were things in the game that I missed because the controls were not working very well. I know that part of the games charm is that it looks buggy and “doesn’t work” at times, but I’m pretty sure I was playing the game as intended and was still having technical issues. I’ve heard that using a controller is way better…the swipe controls are terrible. Would have given 5 stars if not for the terrible swipe controls and tech issues.

An interesting take on FMV. Sam Barlow does once again giving an experience like never before! From a game that was originally produced for PC and Xbox now comes with a mobile port for most players to enjoy. Even though the controls may be finicky at times, it does not stop us from the engaging story and a wonderful performance of the lead actress. On a side note: While this app is listed with a storage capacity of around 200 MBs, it’s actually 13 GBs due to the needed files of the films. Just to give an attention for those who actually wanted to play.

Bug Report. Game’s great, just not on this platform. My first session of opening the game went great for an hour or two. I came back to it the next day, and now whenever I “zoom” to enter a new scene, all the UI disappears and I can’t scrub, rewind, or play. Only pause. Which means, if I pause a video, I can’t resume it or even exit, I just have to close the app.

Another hypotonic Barlow interactive experience. No one else does FMV interactive movies as well as these. Strange, atmospheric and addictive. UPDATE: The game seems to have completely stopped working. Keeps making me re-download the game data, sometimes the counter goes over 100%, sometimes it never finishes, the one time it did finish it just crashed out and when i restarted it told me i need to download the data again. Deleted / reinstalled, still not working.

Unlike anything. This game teaches you what it is, and how to play it. It’s unlike any other game. I can’t stop thinking about it! The performances are amazing—it’s a roller coaster. I was really happy to have gone into it without knowing anything about it. Also, this is such a singular experience that it’s good for gamers and non-gamers, cinephiles and non-cinephiles.

Wow. I only stumbled on this game because I’m on vacation and opened Netflix on my iPad. I didn’t know Netflix had games, I saw this and checked it out. I was very skeptical at first. . . Actually that skepticism never went away until it was over and I was screen capturing the credits to learn about the artist who created this piece. Is skeptical the word? Reluctant curiosity? Fear? I don’t know. This game is not for everybody but it is a very powerful piece. Not for the feint of heart.

Can’t play. This kinda stinks. I was looking forward to play it, and it took an insane amount of time to download. But I can’t even get past the tutorial. None of the videos play. I’ve read other reviews saying in a great game on other consoles and just doesn’t work for iOS. I just hope this gets fixed.

Great job. This is a unique experience that would be difficult to replicate. I appreciate the plot(s) and the ending. Or rather the sort of ending before the real ending. Good script, actors, and planing to make this come together. Some of the controls can be a little twitchy on the phone but that’s okay.

Incredible game hampered by showstopper bugs. This game is absolutely incredible. It is a masterpiece of storytelling and game design, with shocking twists, and an engrossing story. unfortunately it is just plain broken on iOS. I have compared this to the PC Version and can confirm many of the issues in the iOS version are not intentional and not present on PC. Sometimes when “scrolling” through a video the video will freeze but the audio will continue playing, both forwards and backwards. sometimes at the end of a clip the game will simply stop responding to touch inputs at all. Frequently the game will mistake pinch gestures for scroll gestures and vice versa. I *want* to rate this five stars (as I rated the PC version). It seems like the perfect game for the iPad form factor and touch controls should be naturally intuitive for input. Unfortunately it is just too marred by bugs to recommend until they’re fixed.

Won’t run. I’m running an iPad Pro 256 gb os 15.6.1 with tons of memory and it won’t get past the start screen.

Fantasy Erotic Thriller. Could not get my mom to play it because the goal is unclear and the content warning put her off. I played it on my own and found it’s an erotic thriller with Neil-Gaiman-style fantasy elements. If you’re a fan of American Gods or Sandman like me, you’ll probably enjoy this as much as I did. Either way you’ll have to tolerate a fair amount of nudity and violence, along with the seemingly directionless way the game progresses.

Filler Review. I’m just putting this here to get rid of the top review which had like potentially serious spoilers that were literally visible on the download page.

Game keeps crashing. I’m guessing I’m near the end, and four times now the game has frozen and crashed to the home screen.

Game freezes. Game freezes on the film clip page, restarted, loaded all game and system updates, but still just locks up. Too bad, as it seemed like an interesting game

Unplayable. I just downloaded it and it doesn’t work at all. When I try to select a clip, it will just freeze and not play. Very disappointing as this is not a complicated game. I think Netflix should remove it and fix it before it’s allowed to be download.

Really? A shell app with 1.2G download?. the app ask me to leave the screen open and download the 1.2G data. Is this android app from 2010? Do you know how annoying that is?

Great interactive storytelling. As a detective game it’s a total fail. As an interactive story it’s as good as it gets. Pinch to zoom is really awkward to use compared to controls for Immortality on other platforms.

Can’t get passed the loading screen. I have ton of storage but it says I somehow am needing more? Won’t go past the loading screen super disappointed

Doesn’t work properly on IOS. Discovered hours in that it wasn’t working the way it was supposed to and I’d been missing key points in the story. This should have been tested and fixed. Maybe I’ll play on PC when I get over the disappointment and frustration, because I was looking forward to this game and it probably would have been a cool experience. Loved Her Story.

Can’t beat mind-bending and “free”. As other reviews have noted, this port has some annoying technical glitches — for me, I can’t get over how the main interface buttons float over the film reel, meaning that clips placed on the left side are incredibly hard to access without accidentally pushing one of the buttons. This is a flagship game for Netflix to have, and yet it really does seem to lack the polish and labor of love you’d expect for the caliber of title. That said, this is an innovative, lavish title well worth the $15 it costs on other platforms. It’s a no-brainer to at least try for free if you have Netflix already. I recommend going in with zero knowledge about the game’s plot and goals

Great. Excellent thought provoking game, i played it through to the end and loved the whole thing. If you like mysteries or cinema this is a must play.

Couldn’t even play. First of all, this game took over an hour to download and required me to delete multiples apps to make room in storage. After all of this waiting it finally finished downloading so I excitedly opened the game. The tutorial tells you to zoom 3x then swipe 3x - I could do that fine. Then it tells you to tap a video to play it. Didn’t work. I tried tapping dozens of different videos. I double tapped. I held down on the screen. I zoomed as far as I could then tried again. I restarted my phone twice. I restarted the game multiple times. Still could not play a single second of video in this game. Absolutely ridiculous. Thank you for wasting my time and making me extremely angry.

Great game, persevere with the interface. Amazing game, unfortunately the interface and instructions are very obtuse. I recommended perseverance as there’s nothing else like it.

Can’t get the app to work properly on my iPad.. Keeps telling me about the Image Grid but is greyed out so cannot select it. Which means I seem to be stuck on the same clip always. Can’t do anything else.

Huge download and confusing gameplay. It needs to download an additional 12gb before you can play the game, and honestly it made me feel so daft when trying to play it. The instructions make no sense if you don’t work in the film industry, and I found the controls and point of the game really clunky and hard to figure out. Had the potential to be really cool, and it’s clear a lot has gone into the game. It’s a shame I have no idea how to play the thing.

I don’t get why this would be fun. Played this for a while, then read a walkthrough to understand it. Now I know what it is meant to do and neither like it nor see why this would be fun. Bizarre premise. It’s probably one of those “love it or hate it” things. For me, waste of time.

Immortal Disappointing. I’ve deleted so much off my phone and it’s still tells me that it needs more space I am installed and deleted the app and re-download it and then it told me I still need more space on my phone so I couldn’t even get to play it Very disappointed

App freeze. Unable to get into the game as it froze on me at the start in the tutorial. I have the latest iPhone. Restarted phone a few times but still didn’t work. Deleted app for now but was keen to give it a go.

Can’t download it. I have 46GB available on my phone but not enough room to download the game. Don’t bother.

Update Fixed!. After the update it only requires 0.41GB and finally works! The game is quite interesting and enjoyable! I encourage anyone who tried to download at launch try now after the new update! (Even if the game has the occasionally slow to reaction to my button presses)

Unplayable. Unfortunately I am unable to play it! I can start a game and see the scene viewer, with something over 100 scenes available, and I am unable to click on any of them. I suspect I am not supposed to start with this many scenes; and obviously I should be able to watch them. Hopefully will get a fix soon!

I don’t get it. Everyone commenting about it “not working” cuz the files too big, it literally tells You it needs 12GB free space for the additional download…. But playing through, I really can’t comprehend the point of this game. I’ve played for a while, collected a lot of clips, not too sure what the point is, or what exactly I’m looking for. Not very clear.

Big game. This game needs a lot of room on your iPad, it was not a problem for me to download. Make sure you got enough space on your device before downloading Ce jeu prend beaucoup d’espace sur votre tablette, faites certain que vous avez suffisamment d’espace. No audio. I downloaded the massive supplementary data successfully. But there is no audible sound from the app!

Videos won’t play. Just downloaded but the videos don’t play. I hear a clunk sound, then nothing. Force quitting and restarting doesn’t help. Too bad, I was looking forward to playing this.

Cannot download. Although I have more than enough space, it keeps saying that I need to free some space in order to download. It seemed to be a good game but won’t be able to find out until they fix that problem.

Great game, couldn't finish. I'm sooo disappointed! I had so much fun with this game but I was at maybe 90% done and then, the game became unplayable. *Spoiler ahead* I got the credit scene rather early because I found most of the clips quickly before watching them all through. So I just kinda skipped it, not really understanding, and kept on watching the full clips in chronological order to find the hidden scenes. All was fine and fun and exciting, until I arrived at 2oE 75 (the dancing scene with Maria). I found the hidden scene and I just couldn't zoom or access the arrows/X anymore! Now, this bug is in every clips, which means I can't find more clues and I have to restart the game every time I need to exit a clip. This is incredibly frustrating since I didn't even get to see the full story of 2oE and I still have some hidden scenes to find, but I'm so close to the end. This makes the game totally unplayable. Please, fix the bug! I loved it, before this happen! I wan't to piece all the story together and finish the game. Note: My iPad has plenty memory space, I closed all my other apps, restarted my device and I have the latest updates to this day. Searching online is no help, I can't find others discussing this bug.

Crashes. Unlike the other reviewers, I was able to play through the game but at the cost of repeated crashes. The game hard crashed about 15 times throughout my play through.

Really interesting, but…. The game itself is actually really fun and interesting. But, I don’t understand why I have to delete basically all of my photos and apps on my phone just to play it.

Doesn’t work. I have over 10G space available but I don’t have enough space to run or download the game? Lol. No thanks.

Updated: Great Game. Now that the install bug is fixed, I’m updating my review to reflect the functioning product, which is a masterpiece of narrative game design. Nothing else quite like this exists, and I’m glad it does.

Disappointing!. Won’t play on my iPad Air, despite meeting iOS and space requirements on the device. Tells me I need to make 3Gig space to install/download the game but my iPad has 34GB of free space! If Immortality needs more space than that, it doesn’t bode well. Judging by the other reviews I’m not the only one who couldn’t get the game to work. Grade: F for FAIL. Too bad because it looked really intriguing!

Keeps freezing. I have an iPhone 14 pro max so it should play fine. Nope. Freezes after a vid ends and can’t get back. Do not bother with it on an iPhone. I’ll play it on my computer.
