Into the Breach Comments & Reviews 2026

Great turn based strategy/puzzle game with roguelike elements!. As with FTL, the first game by this developer, this is now the third platform I'll play this on incl Switch and PC. The mobile interface works well as the other platforms already had touch as an option. I love the gameplay even though it can be punishing but there are good difficulty adjustments. Really wish this would save progress between iPhone and iPad or even cross platform saves from the existing Steam version would be the cherry on top!

Superb Mobile Turn Base Game. This was my first foray into Netflix gaming content and I could not be more pleased. This game easy to play and yet is strategically complex. The variety of units and enemies make each battle a lesson in adapting tactics on the fly, especially as the mission demands become more challenging. I’ve played everything from FF tactics to Fire Emblem to XCom, and after decades, it’s a pleasure to find that this has something new to offer. The core upgrade feature is so fun bc it’s totally reversible, as it should be switching parts on mechs, and the use of “timelines” in battle & out of makes you invested in actually not trying to just go for perfection through repeated attempts/save file manipulation, but through sticking to saving the timeline & forgoing perfection for the best you can pull from yourself. Also this game makes it super easy to just drop what you’re doing and comeback to it later. Suffice it to say, I highly recommend. Well done, studio, and I hope Netflix continues to find strategy games & games in general of this quality, not just reskinned candy crush or whatever. Substantial games, like this one, last the test of time and bear revisiting over years.

An exceptional tactics game. This is a very special game. It’s crystal clear what the enemy is going to do each turn, and the results of your actions are also explained each time you click on something. The luck element is minimal. The player has many options to decide the difficulty, which adds a lot of depth to the game. There is also much variety from the different mech teams you can unlock by playing. Overall, Into the Breach is beautifully balanced because there are well over 100 hours of unique challenges to solve and the more difficult runs require creativity and tough choices, but it’s also a perfect turn-based game to play in short chunks as you wait for the bus.

Hard but good. This is an outstanding game made by outstanding developers but i question Netflix’s choice to include it in their platform as it is not friendly to casual players. It may look simple but it’s a very complex game that is not entirely intuitive. If you are a causal player or new to the genre, keep that in mind, be persistent and start on easy mode

Great game! but.... This game is great and surprised to find out it pis available with Netflix account. I could spend hours playing this game and it's of ease of being able to pick up where you left off at any moment is definitely a plus. Also, no micro transactions! The way a single player game is meant to be played! My one main complaint, and reason for writing this review, is that I AM UNABLE TO PLAY THIS GAME OFFLINE. I am on the plane with no internet access. I decided to kill some time by playing this game, thinking that there is no need for it to access the internet. After opening the app, it asks me to choose a profile (mine) but could not continue to the main menu because the internet is not available. Seriously? In this day in age when an authentication token could be persisted on the mobile for several days? Even I could open Netflix offline. Developers, please make this experience better. I have faith in you! You guys are great!

Incredible depth, perfect fit for phone. If someone had told me years ago that Into the Breach was a game where you distill the most interesting, brain teaser strategic turns late into the heart of a chapter in Fire Emblem and ensure all battles are only those epic turns, I would have purchased this game years ago. I missed it then but I’m loving it on my phone now. Controls feel good, the music reminds me of the beautiful tones from playing FTL so many years ago. I can’t believe I slept on this game, I’m going to pay attention to this dev more, big fan.

Add a campaign for the bugs. It’s awesome and fun but you really should make it so that we can play both sides. I mean you just drop us in to fighting these bugs I mean, we don’t even know what happen or when they came or why they came. So can we pls have some back story on the bugs. I would really appreciate that, or P.V.P, that’s all.

Fun game. I played through this game a while back and am just trying it out again. I am finding it just as fun as the first time around. This is a fun turn based game. There are several different mechs that can perform different actions and so the strategy is constantly evolving. Definitely has long term playability.

Reminds Me of Final Fantasy Tactics a Bit. The game’s rules are simple enough, so it isn’t tough to master, and the boards are all well thought out puzzles. The range of difficulty is huge, and there are other adds, as well. It doesn’t take exceptionally long to run through, but there is a giant variety of ways to play and a good bit of randomization, so I’ve run through dozens of times without getting bored. Even now that I’ve gotten almost all of the achievements, I still roll back to this game fairly often to do it again. Like FFT, It’s a turn-based strategy where each player/figure has its own specialties. Where a lot of those games get really bogged down in overcomplication and menu-juggling, this is clean and easy without a ton of prep work between boards. Just the right balance of simple and challenging that makes it worth getting. Well done.

Too frustrating. The game operates on a roguelike framework: you fight through a series of islands with a squad of mechs, and once your squad is destroyed or the grid collapses, it’s game over. Sure, you get to carry over one pilot to your next run—but beyond that, everything resets. There’s no way to revert to a previous turn, island, or campaign checkpoint. If you make a tactical blunder late in a long, hard-fought run, your only option is to start over from the beginning. This design choice fits the roguelike genre and encourages learning from failure, but it also discourages risk-taking and experimentation—especially when you’re deep into a campaign. The lack of mid-run save points or any kind of rewind feature (aside from the once-per-map reset turn) can be punishing. You’re walking a razor’s edge the entire time, which creates tension, yes, but also limits flexibility. For players who crave challenge and don’t mind permadeath mechanics, Into the Breach is a brilliant gem. But for those who value progress and detest losing hours of gameplay due to a single error, the experience can feel more punishing than rewarding.

Fantastic Strategy Game. Anyone looking for a stimulating strategy game for your phone would do well to download this game. The gameplay is intense without requiring you constant attention, which means you can pull it up during a break, play a round or two, then save your progress for later. Plus, the varying play styles you unlock throughout the game and shifting levels means you can play for hours without encountering the same situation twice. On top of that, the game has an amazing presentation with great music accompanied by stellar art style. If you have a Netflix subscription or are considering getting one, this is definitely worth the price of admission.

One of the greatest strategy games of all time. From the makers of FTL, into the breach is one of the best strategy games ever made. It’s a turn based tactics game, with a twist that you know what your enemy is going to do before they do it, and you have to react. And it has controller support! (Although I would appreciate if the controller support badge was added to the App Store so my backbone app would stop complaining)

Kaiju Chess!. This is a really good game if you like roguelite tactics games. Unlike other random/luck based games, you can plan your moves out perfectly and not worry about your “95% to hit” moves whiffing more often than you think. Works great on my iPhone XS. I suspect the review saying it has an error on launch is due to it releasing earlier than expected. I had that error before too but it’s working now. You’d have to really like the genre to get a Netflix subscription just for this game, but if you have Netflix already I can recommend it pretty well

Perfectly designed game that is just as good on mobile. Often times the mobile port of pc games will introduce minor annoyances here and there watering down the experience. However, this is a different and in many cases the mobile experience compliments the bite size puzzle scenarios the game throws at you. 10/10 one of the best puzzle/strategy games ever made.

Great turn based game, needs some mobile updates. Fantastic game, but for a game on iOS it needs some updates like cloud saves and the ability to listen to your own audio while playing (I do think the soundtrack is very good, but for the amount of time I put into the game, I would like to listen to my own music and podcasts).

Potentially good game hobbled by corporate greed. The game itself is good but you can only play while online and signed into a Netflix account, which is nonsensical since this is entirely a single-player game with no online features or gameplay. I guess doing a deal with Netflix was more important to Subset than user friendliness for the people who actually play their game. Would be happy to pay for the game if the developers were simply charging for the game itself, but it’s absolutely not worth signing up for a Netflix subscription just for this. Blech!

Enjoyed Every Minute. From the beginning you are challenged to perform with everything on the table and no takes back , which means every second spent thinking about the next move is exhilarating. I reset so many timelines until i accepted the fact my leadership and decision making is what i need to focus on to keep everyone alive

Addictive..if you like a challenge and strategy!. This is a GREAT game! It’s not simple, it’s not fast paced,it doesn’t have tons of characters and mind blowing graphics. What it does have is an actual mental challenge, somewhat similar to what chess provides. If you like actually thinking, seeing the big picture, and earning hard fought victories…you’ll love it! You will lose more than you win, especially at first. As you learn the game it will become easier, but you can simply change one of many customizable settings for continued difficulty. Even at the easiest setting it is difficult. If you’re looking for some mindless way to keep your hands busy, it’s not this. If you like finding something that will make you think several turns ahead and feel a genuine sense of accomplishment after a win, this is a Very rare mobile game that can give you that.

Perfect game, but needs a few quality of life updates. Ever since it’s release on PC and Switch, Into the Breach has been one of my favorite games of all time. There’s an incredible amount of depth, strategy, and narrative packed into an 8x8 grid. Having played the PC/Switch versions for hundreds of hours, I was thrilled to see that this game was coming to mobile AND getting new content. I love this game, but I have a few notes for future updates. 1. For whatever reason, I can’t listen to outside music or podcasts while playing the game. Whatever I’m listening to stops as soon as I open the app. The music and sound design of the game are great, but sometimes I just want to listen to a podcast while slaying Vek, you know? Please, please address this in a future update. 2. There is some bug that reverses the choice I make for new content. Sometimes, I check the boxes for the new content, but I’m stuck with the classic missions and enemies. When the new content boxes are unchecked, new enemies, missions, and weapons appear. This specific issue seems very fixable in a patch. 3. I’ve noticed a bug where the grid-defense percentage fluctuates mid-match. I’ve mostly noticed this happening in “unfair mode” when the grid-defense starts at 0%. Again, something that seems fixable in a patch. Overall, I’m thrilled that this game is free for Netflix subscribers and finally available on mobile. If you address these issues, I will happily change my review to a solid five stars!

Very surprising. This is one of those diamond in the rough mobile games where’s there’s a high level of thought put into that’s able to accommodate multiple play styles. I usually don’t write a review but I was surprised by how much fun and time I was putting into the game, its able to tie in the game mechanics with the story nicely, especially how they tackle defeat where each time you die and restart your actually time traveling, which is a fun take. It’s also pretty cool letting you see how much people you save, makes you feel like a Jaeger pilot saving humanity. Overall pretty solid game that at first could seem challenging but then opens to a world of different strategies to tackle levels making each battle unique.

Really good game.. Into The Breach is a really cool game. It has tons of replay value; no two games are ever the same. I never feel overwhelmed by the AI either. It’s a nice balance in difficulty. The mechs and their abilities are good and fair. They are unique and mixing and matching them creates an interesting game. The later levels are head and seemed stacked against you sometimes, but you just have to think your way around the puzzle. The studio occasionally updates the game with new stuff which keeps it fresh. I hope they update with new mechs soon…I almost have all the medals on all the difficulties.

You requested for the review. I honored that request. This game is great! I had been playing this game for long time! When it becomes boring, I stopped playing and decide to play again. It feels fun then get bored. That is usual for repeated loop. I would recommend this game and I would encourage to extend more story, more robots, and everything else MORE! Maybe it is time to break the loop and do something epic! The final boss needs to come out and face us! After we defeated the final boss…. Something went so wrong and we go to different timeline. Try to keep it interesting and entertaining! Psst! I am game developer! This game seems easy to make. I can help with ideas and etc!

Much too hard for casual play. Even on the easiest difficulty setting there are too many enemies for casual play. I realize some people want a very hard game to challenge them, but for me I don't want to dedicate the time and concentration. I think there's a simple fix. If the Easy level were changed so that you don't lose reactor cores when you die it would be possible to gradually increase mech power until it's an enjoyable balance. The reason I didn't find it fun was that I kept losing all progress and replaying the same tiny amount of gameplay over and over again. Allowing the player to keep accumulating reactor cores instead of losing them every time you die would make it so that you aren't completely starting over.

Netflix Required. I love Into the Breach on Steam and Nintendo Switch. It is ridiculous to lock it down to a Netflix account, which I have no interest in. Players are almost guaranteed to lose their save file eventually, you can’t play it offline, and players won’t “own” this game as soon as Netflix removes it from their list. Get out of the Netflix money grab and just sell this game for us loyal players to own, Subset Games. You’ve sold out, and this is going to likely be the end of your greatness as a nearly perfect “independent” developer. You’re going to be just another developer scrambling for maximum money. Sad to see.

Easy 5 stars. Into the breach is one of my old favorites so I figured I’d try it out since it was free. Surprisingly, this mobile port is actually excellent. The controls are responsive and well implemented. I havent tried out the new stuff yet since I’m starting over with a new file, but what I’ve seen so far is as good as ever. This may well replace my switch as the way I interact with into tge breach.

Needs. Great game, this is the third platform that I’ve gotten this game on. I would give this 5 stars if you could listen to your own music/podcasts while playing. I’m guessing it has something to do with Netflix not letting g that happen, but idk that’s just a guess. There were a few crashes but I’m sure that’s something that they will work out. Fix the sound and I think it will be great, it’s about time they brought this to mobile.

Great game especially for mobile. It’s too bad you don’t have the option to buy it outright but it’s a really great game on mobile especially as so many mobile games are so terrible . That being said, it’s a very hard game and you’ll enjoy it more if you realize that taking some casualties is inevitable, this is a game about making tough choices. Sometimes the difficulty goes to the point of being illogical like having air strikes that just attack one spot of the map over and over again. So it can be very frustrating but I think the game is worth playing

The Greatest Strategy Game of All Time. Can’t overstate how many hours I’ve put into this one. It’s a testament to how elegantly this game is designed that even on a phone screen, it doesn’t feel compressed at all. Like others, I kinda wish it wasn’t tied up with Netflix, but whatever. Still a miracle to have it on the subway.

This game is amazing!!. I cannot emphasize how amazing the game is. With so many combinations of abilities and enemies, it always remains fun and fresh. I have so many hours on here and there is always more to do! I love to play this game on long flights or car rides, and the time goes by so fast. I seriously cannot recommend this game enough!

Review. Wow. This game is a breath of fresh air for mobile games. This makes most other mobile games pale in comparison in terms of quality, story, gameplay, music, etc. Also love the fact that there are no ads. The only suggestion I would give is to have a more in depth tutorial for the game, maybe I didn’t read the tips well enough but it took me quite a bit of time to understand the mechanics behind reactors and adding special abilities or power ups to certain mechs. I also was in the dark about unlocking different sets of mechs to start the game with. It was a pleasant surprise to discover these mechanics with a game that I already enjoyed. Well done!

Not a game for completionists. If you’re the kind of person who likes to get a perfect score on every level and complete every mission objective in the games you play, this game is not for you. I find the game to be extremely difficult, and can really only play it on easy mode. Normal mode is basically unplayable unless you’re ok with consistently failing mission objectives and losing more often than you win. There isn’t even a way to restart a level and try again, you only get the option to completely start the whole game over. From the other reviews, it’s clear that many people like this game, so I think it’s just that the game doesn’t match well with my particular style of game play.

Great port with not so great account. Amazing game made even better with the advanced edition content. Really hate the Netflix games addition, you are unable to start the game if you have no service/wifi since you can’t login to your stupid netflix games account. I would understand the login for the first time you start it, but every single time you start up the app you need to be in wifi which was very annoying for me when I was unable to do so for a week while traveling. Super hope this exclusivity is timed I would much rather pay $20 for a single purchase like FTL

Great for strategy fans!. I first played and fell in love with this game originally on my Switch. When I saw it was available on my iPad with a Netflix subscription I downloaded it immediately. I was weary about whether or not the controls would translate well and if it was an accurate port. Well to my surprise not only is it nearly identical to the console version but the game actually controls better with touch only controls! So much so that I now prefer to play it here rather than on my console. If you like turn based strategy games like Fire Emblem you will absolutely not be disappointed! The game is jam packed full of unlockable content via an achievements system and it’s incredibly addictive trying to get every single one. If you’re considering it enough to read the reviews then you owe it to yourself to try it out.

Amazing game, buggy port. Every strategy or tactics enthusiast should try this game on Mac or PC. It’s incredibly well-designed. This game is a roguelike with permadeath and procedurally generated maps. It’s fully single player with no pay to win or microtransactions. This game is perfect. All that being said, the port to mobile is extremely buggy. It’s sad to see such an incredible game riddled with errors, like the bug where nothing on-screen is responsive and I have to exit to my home screen and open the app again. Happens about 3x per battle.

Solid So Far. Into The Breach is an absolutely solid game and has been one of my favorites for a while now. Huge props to the devs for this gem. It’s actually been a source of inspiration for my own card game, so thanks again for such an enjoyable experience. It’s great to see it available for on iOS, too. I’ve always wanted that to happen, and now it’s here. Is it a little strange to see Netflix releasing mobile games? Yes, but so far so good regardless. Keep up the good work, everyone!

developers have become highly ignorant. Absolutely pathetic that the develops of Sunk so low to put this with Netflix. Netflix is already garbage the people who made this game of the people who made faster than light two of my most favorite games of all time I never in 1 million years would I thought the developers would’ve made such a highly ignorant decision i’m honestly left without words they could’ve made this game $10 easy it’s a masterpiece but now we got a sign into Netflix to play it I’ve lost all respect for the ignorant developers this is pathetic and embarrassing.

The Best strategy game ever. Period.. There is so much variety in what your mechs can do and how the veks (enemies) respond to your moves. I love how simple it is to play and yet forces you to often make tough choices in our to complete a mission. This is a well crafted and well executed strategy game of the highest order. The graphics are fantastically 8-bit, and the many characters you can choose from each have individual playstyles. For being rendered in a simple way, the music really pulls you in, making you feel like this is the last stand for Earth. The plot hook at the end is great too.

Perfect but could use some tweaking. This game is literally EVERYTHING I could’ve wanted in a game don’t get me wrong it’s a long game if you want to get a 100% run but I mean it’s worth it for me but there are some problems for instance there should be way more teams or achievements to get and the coin system I understand but there are some that are almost impossible to complete so you gotta know which ones to pick before you buy them but overall great game

Such a satisfying game.. Loved FTL as a kid though it was too hard for me to really get anywhere, This is still the case today but this game is different. It still challenges your brain but it lets you think things through VERY carefully and even test potential strategies safely knowing you have a once per turn do over button. If I could buy this game and own it on mobile I would, but unfortunately the nature of the deal made with netflix doesn’t make this technically possible. That being said it is a very good port of the game and fits mobile perfectly given its gameplay.

Fun game, but one unacceptable flaw in the mobile port. For whatever reason, whenever someone calls you, the game closes itself (even if you don’t pick up). This means that you have to continue from the main menu, which wouldn’t be a big deal if it just restarted the battle, but instead it brings you back to the beginning of your turn and automatically expends your one turn reset. Annoying, but it really gets bad if you’re unlucky enough to have already used your turn reset or get called twice, because then the game considers your run over and you have to start a new game.

Core game is brilliant. Netflix?. I'm only the second person to write a review - and the first was a one-star that couldn't get it to run on an iPad. So I wanted to quickly post a good review to avoid bombing (although I haven't been able to get sound working - I expect quick patching). My five-stars is based on the ORIGINAL game, which I've played over 100 hours on Switch. It's already a deep tactical game, with a great atmosphere, compelling game loop, a fun variety of units and enemies, and constantly interesting choices. If they've added more units, enemies, environments - and upgradeable captains - then I can't wait to dig into all the advanced content. If you're looking for thrilling experiences like XCOM, Mario Rabbids, or Fire Emblem... This is a worthy addition to your turn-based strategy collection!

Excellent. It is a fun, varied, good looking, and challenging strategy game. Been playing since I found it on steam years ago and the port to mobile is utterly seamless. I still find myself coming back every once in a while to complete more challenges or variations on victory conditions. For what this game is it does and exceedingly good job, different pilots, mechs, abilities, enemies, missions, and very very little fat. On top of that the world is cool and I never really get tired of starting over.

For Netflix Accounts Only. I love the developers, and have enjoyed both FTL and Into The Breach on PC. Leaving fans like me out in the cold because we don’t have/want a Netflix subscription is unkind and unnecessary. I would have happily bought this game a second time for the convenience of playing on my phone, but that’s not an option. Subscriptions were bad enough, but letting streamers lock games for the sake of exclusivity and revenue share is simply ridiculous. People want to buy a game; let them buy the game. This Netflix deal may benefit the developers (and Netflix) now, but it puts me off having anything to do with them in the future.

Progress does not sync between devices. I’m disappointed to find that progress between my iPad and iPhone is not shared. There does not appear to be any cloud-save functionality, which is a must for mobile games. I have been hoping for a long while that Into The Breach would come to iOS like FTL did. I am disappointed it is tied to a subscription service and I can’t purchase it outright. I held off playing this game on PC because I knew it would be a better experience on my tablet or phone, but I didn’t expect these shortcomings.

Top tier turn based strategy. I got this game years ago and spent countless hours 100% the game. Right as I thought I was nearing the end of its playability the devs came out with a new difficulty, a bunch of new enemies and pilots and a bunch of new teams. It’s plain to see the devs really care about this game. I was so excited when they made the phone app cause now I could take it on the go and play in my down time. The UI is simple and adapts well to a phone format. Easy to control and there’s nearly no misclicking trouble. No advertisements or micro transaction that plague most phone games these days. Honestly one of my favorite games of the genre and real easy to pick up and put down when you are on the move.

Can Your Mechs Save The World from Kaiju?. This turn based strategy rogue-like game manages to walk a tight rope of keeping elements streamlined and approachable while also having there be a lot of variety and depth. The game can be challenging but very satisfying when you have a good character or team build and manage successful maneuvers and combinations of attacks and abilities. And I am a fan of the pixel art and the little details they put into it like the subtle character portrait animations. I think it’s got a good premise and interesting world reminiscent of “Pacific Rim” meets “Edge of Tomorrow”. Though the story is concise, with no lengthy cutscenes they keep you in the action, and even with fairly sparse dialogue manage to give you a sense of the personality of the characters. There are dozens of unlockable mechs with different gameplay styles, several unlockable pilots with different attributes, and a bunch of weapons and tools you can swap out with the constraint that each mech can only assign two weapons or tools at a time. This game is definitely worth your while, though I will warn that the challenge on some runs can feel brutal.

Easily one of the best turn based rogulikes. Despite the success of FTL (the developers’ first breakout game), one of its major criticisms was that there was too much RNG (this is true). Into The Breach seems to be Subset Games’ direct answer to that with its chess-like gameplay that puts much more control into the player’s hands. Whereas in FTL you could lose because the same weapon missed five times in a row, your losses and mistakes in Into The Breach always feel they’re your fault, even if there’s still a bit of bad luck mixed in. Every turn of this game is like a new puzzle to solve, and you will often find yourself pulling off moves that save you from a seemingly impossible situation, creating a very fun core gameplay loop. The game is further elevated by beautiful pixel sprites and animations and a highly groovy and motivational and at times even emotional soundtrack by Ben Prunty. You can expect a ton of replay value out of this game especially since the release of the free Advanced Version update which adds more of everything to the game (still only 5 islands/levels total though). The controls are also rather intuitive on mobile so there should be very little difficulty in learning the game. IMO this is the best and most accessible turn based roguelike out there besides Balatro.

Thanks netflix. If it wasn’t for Netflix would never have considered playing this. It honestly took me a while to learn how to play. But now I am really enjoying every moment of it. This the only strategy game that I’ve actually liked. The only problem just for me personally I really have to put my 100% brain power and focus. I enjoy that but I notice I can’t really play it daily because I get annoyed and play to fast and aggressive.

Great balance of complexity and entertainment. The game has a chess-like complexity that requires you to think through and plan each move, but it’s incredibly fun to play. There’s just enough to keep the gameplay fresh and entertaining - new or more complex enemies, environmental barriers, and achievement levels - but it’s also enjoyable with commentary from the game’s characters. I come back to it again and again to unwind and to jumpstart my brain. If you really enjoy turn-based strategy games, I highly recommend.

Save data disappeared. This is a fun bite sized tactical strategy/puzzle game. I give the developers a lot of credit because there’s a lot of variation to the units and their abilities yet each battle seemingly has a perfect solution, you just need to figure it out. Unfortunately, after a week of play all my progress/saved data just disappeared. The save files are stored in the cloud, not your device. This also means you can’t play the game if you’re offline. This is not a game that should require an internet connection so these issues seem to be the result of poor development decisions and it hurts the customer.

Mr James Reid. What can I say hours of fun it like playing chess having to think moves ahead great little sound track, game makes you feel smart and then pulls your pants down.I need to tell all my friends.

Too small on iPhone 12. While it’s a really faithful conversion to mobile and plays well, everything is too small on my iPhone 12. Need an option to zoom in to see what’s going on. At the moment it’s too frustrating to play

So far love the game. Too bad Netflix will pull it down like katana zero Only thing troubling me is how important decisions are when choosing levels and making decisions which is just a skill issue Bit of rng so don’t bother trying to lose 0 civilians for your sanity (just a personal experience) I’d recommend playing easy than going to the hardest difficulty with all options on Thanks for the free experience, it’s a great game but make it like btd6 with a Netflix version and a paid version if netflix let you

A lot of fun. Simple mechanics layer up into a dynamic chess-like puzzle, with mechs. Great concept.

Dead Set Classic. Incredibly deep and rewarding puzzle solving, one of my all time favourites. Well worth a go (shame it's locked behind a Netflix subscription for mobile)

Perfect mobile port of the best turn based strategy game ever made.. It has stood the test of time, and is perfectly at home on iOS. Puts the rest of the App Store to shame- free with your Netflix login but worth it at any price on any platform. A tight, dramatic, disaster management kaiju smashing chess match with almost perfect information where civilian casualties, pilot safety and mission objectives compete with each other and your ability to triage each turn and maybe get it all done… or engage the time breach and try again when it all goes wrong.

Great game. Awesome game and audio issues have been fixed :)

Best game ever. 100% achievements on epicgame then steam and now back from beginning on IOS. This game is too good!

No I don’t want to sign in with Netflix. No thanks, this is getting dumb. Just want to play a game not sign in to another website.

One of the great video games. iOS the perfect way to play. Great tactical puzzler with ~30 minute runs, but for me the RPG aspect is really strong and engaging.

No sound on not 1 but 2 iPads, requires Netflix account?. I’m ok ‘activating’ the game once with Netflix but it looks like I’m going to need to be an indefinite subscriber to access the game. That’s madness. The lack of sound is the clincher tho. I love FTL, eager to try this but it literally has no sound, it’s currently unplayable.

One of my favorite casual games.. Love Into the Breach, so happy it's on IOS now. Very replayable game with a lot of different playstyles and strategies possible. Well adapted for mobile, UI functions well and I encountered no bugs in 30+ games. My only note would be that players who haven't played on other platforms might not realise how XP distributes on non-mech kills without the visual cue, or that chooisng a new pilot loses the current ones XP/lvl.

Looks Simplistic but has Lots of Great Tactical Ideas. I really enjoyed getting this game free with a Netflix subscription too — fantastic freebie with a lot of enjoyment packed in. Love the way you can send a time traveller to your next timeline, and the Hard mode being actually hard and interesting.

Challenging and addictive. The game is fun from the beginning but difficult to beat until you start using all the information available to strategize your next move. It's like chess but with aliens and explosions.

Awesome Game. Awesome game, currently trying to 100% it for the second time. Never encountered a bug, never crashed. Fun gameplay with a lot of variety. Well designed for playing on a mobile device. Fun game :)

One of the best games. This is one of my favourite all time games. The replay ability of it is excellent. Concept and game play is super fun. Can't believe it's finally on Mo ile. You must try It out.

don't use while travelling. will randomly decide you no longer have access to the game. terrible way to release the game on ios. please free this wonderful game from the clutches of netflix.

Excellent game. Easy to play, hard to master. Heaps of replay value with all the different weapons and mechs.

Can’t Launch. Instantly crashes at login screen.

Perfect Game. Amazing strategy game that lends itself perfectly to a mobile game. Super fun, nothing gimmicky or cheap, just a great game that will keep you entertained for hours!

Well done Netflix. Superb game and adaptation to mobile.

Another beautiful iPad translation. One of the best games on iPad. I’d appreciate a single-purchase option one day but that’s minor and the game probably wouldn’t even exist without Netflix. Great controls, just as fun as on PC. Easy on battery and performance too. Great game to play while watching or doing something else! And great game design.

Starship Troopers Wish Fulfillment. After their first game, FTL, I didn’t think they could catch lightning in a bottle twice. Well, what the heck do I know. Played it to death on Steam, so why not a bit of Mobile with my Netflix acc. Someone at corporate makes a good decision now and then, eh… Anyway, here’s to the next one, folks.

Frozen Titans Broken. Can’t purchase the Frozen Titans

Deep strategy game with plenty of style and replayability. I love this game. The core gameplay is very fun and rewarding. The graphics, characters, and locations are charming. The variety of enemies, mechs, and objectives keeps the game fresh and there is a difficulty level for everyone. The game also controls perfectly with touch input. Best mobile game I’ve played, I keep coming back.

Fantastic Game. No toxic business models if you already have Netflix. I don’t normally play mobile games because I typically don’t enjoy the business models. I have played into the breach on steam before and enjoyed it a bunch. Then I discovered that this is available with a Netflix subscription. I have since played Into the Breach way longer than I did on PC. It’s still the only mobile game I play. Adds great value to the subscription, stoked with that! UI works great on a 13 mini. Was able to play it with music in the background. Worth noting: seems like audio doesn’t work when not connected to any external speakers. I normally play with AirPods anyway, so it didn’t bother me. But might be an issue for you.

Love it. Best ever

Amazing game. Had it for months now and still love it, 10 out of 10 game love the strategy can’t wait to see what else they do with this game

I’m happy!. Thanks Netflix! Brilliant move, wonderful game. Great job my favourite version of the game

Goat. 🥺🥹

Strategy Masterpiece. Beautifully balanced game by the makers of FTL. Rules are simple to learn but tremendous complexity of outcome emerges from the different combinations of abilities, enemies and environments. Wide variety of weapon types, pilots, squads and achievements make for great replayability. I’m currently replaying with each squad on the highest difficulty level. Most attempts I fail but there’s just enough randomness in the weapon upgrades and pilots that are presented on each attempt to allow me to squeak through but only if I get the strategy just right.

Turns off music. Like heaps of people I like to listen to music while I play. Big nope. Turn your music off & only audio you can use is game music & effects. Fail. On that alone.

Best turn based game. I’m a fan of FF tactics, worms, and other turn based games. This by far wins the crown. The music, art, gameplay all work together and I guess what I’m trying to say is make it available without Netflix subscriptions and keep up the great work ❤️

Game. Great game!

Requires Netflix subscription. I’ve heard this is one of the best games ever. Too bad it requires a Netflix subscription to play. Ugh.

Review. I love the plot of the game and the controls and gameplay. The soundtrack is also really amazing. It’s primarily a strategy game, so lots of thinking about your next move on how to kill the enemy. Honestly, this game surprised, from the photos of the game on the App Store I didn’t think I would like it too much. In my experience, pixelated turn based games are not very fun, but this one really is. And it’s convinced me to give similar games a try.

One of the best strategy games you could ever play. As a strategy game lover (civ 6, slay the spire, shadow tactics, etc), I can confidently say this is among one of my favorite game. I didn’t put as many time on this game as I played civ6 but this is definitely a game I would play when I am commuting to my work or classes. I actually bought this game on steam before I even know my Netflix subscription has access to this game lol All I want to say is If you have Netflix, do try it out, and perhaps buy the game on your own because I think the dev team deserve it <3

One of the best strategy games ever made. This game is near-perfect in every way. Elegant, concise, and challenging. It loses one star due to it being limited under Netflix, preventing everyone who have been clamouring to play it on iOS and iPadOS, but have decided to stop wasting their money on the subscription service.

Like a board game. This game is very fun so far. It plays off of the pacific rim movies but is not the same and plays like a board game.

Great port!. A surprisingly comfortable and usable touch controls for a great game!

Awesome. I played a lot of FTL and this game is amazing too. Great intuitive controls on mobile

Fun strategy game. I have been thoroughly enjoying playing this fun game. It’s actually challenging and has a continuous play through system going for it. It is worth trying out

Good Fun … Very Challenging Strategy Game. 🔥🔥🔥‼️

Compelling “just one more turn!” tactical masterpiece.. Excellent turn-based strategy, where the traditional approach of making decisions based on probabilities before acting is flipped on its head. Here, you know exactly what the enemy is going to do as its next action and you get to plan your turn accordingly. This is mirrored in the randomization / “rogue-lite” of each playthrough being different, with the theme of time traveling mechs from the future fighting gigantic kaiju (think Godzilla etc.). An all time great. I keep coming back to this game, again and again, over the years. It’s that good.

It’ll Piss You Off. This game is exasperating. It’ll test your patience. You will say to yourself “f*€k, I have to start over completely. This it not a journey I signed up for.” Then you’ll beat your first island. This game is exhilarating. You are the master of your own destiny. Play this game to take your life back.

Jeu très intéressant. Demande un temps d’appropriation, mais ensuite, on est dans un jeu de stratégie assumé.

Game won’t even open.. iPhone 11 Pro Max. Big N flashes to let me know who has my money then the game crashes. Thanks.

The game surprised me. I didn’t think the game would be good so I tried it and it is one of the best games I have played

Cool game so far. No adds, no micro transactions that I have noticed so far

Great port!. Bought this game on steam initially but the mobile port is so good I pretty much only play that version. Even if this was 2-5 dollars on the app store it would be worth

Great game!. What a wonderful time

Best micro tactics game. Title says it all. This is one of my all time favorite games and worth your time. Give it a shot and it won’t disappoint.

A Turn Based Triumph!. Easy to learn, difficult to master!

Netflix paywall. Love the game, willing to buy it again on iPad like FTL eve I own it on PC already. But behind Netflix paywall? No thanks! #cancelnetflix

I didn’t notice any flaws yet. Overall it’s a fun strategy rogue like, I recommend it

Can’t Get Enough. quite literally the best to ever do it

Perfect. Simply one of the greatest games of all time

goodness gracious. Tis beautiful milord 🥹

Great strategy game. Relax, think, take your time and replayability

Amazing game! Terrible model. This game is incredible, and perfect for a mobile game. But tying it exclusively behind a Netflix subscription is just an absolute travesty

Hours of fun. Great puzzle game!

Lots of fun. Wasn’t expecting much on a free game but this was surprisingly complex. 2 thumbs up 🙂

Makes me feel like a tactical genius. Really good game. There’s no feeling quite like masterminding a devious turn where nothing gets damaged despite there being 30 bugs on the board. And will you guys shut up about not having Netflix? It says Netflix game what do you expect?

Top top game, the only one I still play on my phone. I love this game so much. I played it endlessly for a long time and picked it back up- and purchased it for steamdeck, too! Buy it, buy it now.

Sux. What only Netflix nerds can try this - 4get it ty - -

Unable to play on the plane. This was a real tick-off. Found a game that I really enjoyed and figured I could kill some time on the flight… nope! Netflix passcode needed, while I had it, it didn’t submit without internet. What an absolute slap in the face.

Amazing as much on the go then at home. This game is just fantastic. The more you rage at it, the more you want to improve and see things differently. Great game

MASTERPIECE!. L’un de mes jeux préférés de tous les temps. 10/10

Its perfect. An unforgiving strategy game.

Nice game. This is a nice game. Would like to have a version in the which i can restart and not rogue like

Solid game. Such a fun strategy game. Love the game mechanics, music, and animation styles

Garbage. Netflix account required. Don’t waste your time on this.

A pure gem. First: Humm, a netflix app... Second: Looks old school Third: Very very few text and you can skip training Fourth: Ultra radical gameplay and you lose you character when it dies Five: 10,20,30 tries at "unfair" mode and i still want to try and try again. Congratulation on a very impressive game, well done. Dr.J Update 2024: I still enjoy the game from time to time, haven't finished everything at unfair level.

Pacific Rin’s true successor. This is one of the best games Netflix ever made; second only to Oxenfree

Really not a fan of subscription based games.. This is a really fun game on pc, a solid 4/5 in my opinion. That said I’d rather just buy it than subscribe. Update, won’t launch on my iPhone but works fine on my iPad with public beta 16

Top Tactical RPG Puzzle with Great Vibes. Fantastic game with deep gameplay, engaging time-war storyline, characters, mechs, kaiju, weapons systems… it’s got it all. Fast puzzle solving on every turn, often riveting. Highly recommend this game.

Honestly just a really good game. This is a really good game, Ive been playing it for a while now. The music is great, it gets you to think strategically and the art style is super high quality. Plus, if you get bored of the main game, which is tough because there’s a lot of options for your team composition, there are additional options for more abilities and harder enemies to keep the game fresh.

Doesn’t work. Can’t login. I double checked all my info: username, password. I get an error code 3***. Looks like Netflix dropped the ball again. I would suggest skipped this dumb Netflix version and purchasing it through steam on desktop.

Sooo good!. OMG so good been waiting for this one to hit. As good as I hoped for!

Excellent game!. What an amazing game this is! Perfect for mobile devices and for people who appreciate tactics, logic and problem solving! Very engaging and you don’t have to spend too much time in one session since it is turn based. I’ve found it very satisfying. You should definitely try it, especially if you have Netflix already.

Awesome Game. Great game, very obviously crafted by a caring team. Awesome way to kill a long flight.

Excellent turn based strategy game. The mechanics are all well done, the missions are challenging but fair, and the upgrade system is well done

Shame it’s locked to Netflix. Been waiting forever for this port, and it’s absolutely phenomenal! But I don’t maintain a Netflix sub when I’m out of things to watch and I’d love to not lose access to this absolute gem of a game. Please, let me just buy it.

The wait is over. Easy 5 star! This game was great on pc and was just screaming to be played on mobile devices. Now let’s see if Netflix can make some more good choices with what games they bring to the service. My fingers are crossed for frostpunk.

Strategy perfection. One of the best turn based strategy games of all time, bar none. Easy to learn but hard to master. Rouge like format will keep you coming back for the variance you get in each run.

Great game all around just one thing. Make sure to get a version ready for when Netflix takes it off so that you have a shorter time transitioning from the Netflix version to the paid premium version. Cause I’ll buy it in a heartbeat

Please fix the bugs!. Incredible game brought down by the frequent bugs where you randomly can’t do anything. You can’t select a mech to make them move or attack. Quitting the app and restarting it usually fixes the issue for a little while but then it starts again. Please fix it!

Great with one issue. and so is the other game by the Subset Games FTL, Netflix added their account screen whatever idc the original game is still great. My only problem is it pauses my audio every time i play, yeah i get it the game has music, but let me listen to my own if I want, if this gets fixed I’d give it 5 stars easily

One of the best strategy games. This is one of the very best strategy games on iOS. A must play for fans of Fire Emblem and XCOM. The sound is fantastic too. Thanks Netflix! One request: please add iCloud sync between phone and iPad (even better if the file is compatible with Steam).

Amazing. Netflix Thank you so much for making this possible. Amazing game with perfectly ported interface. Shout out to subset games for making this tactical masterpiece. What took you guys so long to get to iOS? This is like the perfect mobile touch screen game.

Update deleted my save. I love Into the Breach and was beyond excited to have it on mobile. I don’t believe this issue is Subset’s fault but rather the fact that Netflix won’t allow you to back up saves to iCloud. After putting hours into the iOS version I updated the game only to be prompted to pick my Netflix profile upon booting the game and finding that my save had been erased. I’ll be going back to the Switch version.

Best tactics game ever. Loved the PC version. The mobile port is excellent. One weird quirk that took me forever to figure out: the game has no sound if your phone is on silent mode. I don’t know of any other app that works this way. Why do I have to turn on my ringtone in order to play with sound?

Dangerously addictive. Everything in this game just make sense - every game mechanic works to complement each other. I’m playing on an IPhone SE and some times I have a hard time selecting my units but it’s not a big dead. I have 80+ hours on the switch versions

Puzzle, strategy or both?. Both, and outstanding in both respects! I have this game on my PC and the mobile version is just as brilliant! The story we glimpse is excellent and unique and the concept of time travelers is a cool framing for the game’s tale.

Favorite Game. This is the quality of games we should be able to play on mobile. I’ve played it since it originally launched, and it’s my favorite. I wish they would do expansions, but they’re probably working on their next big hit

Fantastic turn-based strategy!. Only a couple of hours in, but I think this has such a fun and addicting gameplay loop. Even if you don’t typically enjoy turn based gameplay, if you like strategy games you should give this a try.

One of my fav games of all time. In 2019 my good friends and I had a podcast ranking our favorite games of the year, featuring games from the years 2013 to 2020. This game, Into The Breach, was the number one game on the list. If you love quality, this game is it. I personally know K’zaak’spleeth

Great game. Great gameplay, glad it’s finally mobile. The only thing that would make it better would be if it could be purchased outright without having to go through Netflix.

Wow. This game is really great, it can feel like you’re stuck but I switched to easy when I lost too many runs on normal without even making it to the boss on the first island. There’s a lot of strategy involved and just trust me, you’ll have a blast

Great game, horrible publisher.. The game itself is amazing, and the developers who made it deserve the credit for it. However, I absolutely disagree with monthly subscription based monetization. Consumers already have things expensive enough as it is, and Netflix has been a good example recently on how corporate profits take priority over the consumer. I would happily play and buy this game if it was published on iOS by the developers themselves and nothing went to netflix.

Fun game. I played through this game a while back and am just trying it out again. I am finding it just as fun as the first time around. This is a fun turn based game. There are several different mechs that can perform different actions and so the strategy is constantly evolving. Definitely has long term playability.

Well made tactical game. Into the breach is a very satisfying game to play in that you have a lot of control with your actions in game. If you think outside the box, you will be rewarded. It’s a game that lets you decide how to play and becomes more fun the more you learn about the game.

Turn based chess. So chess is turn based, duh. This game practices chess skills of move and attack with the back story and turn based strategy that keeps an interesting game going. The difficulty level is about making sacrifices for getting ahead

Strategy! Strategy! Strategy!. Every move counts! Forces you to think ahead and plan! This game is a refreshing break from the everyday games you are seeing at the app store. Thank you guys for such a great and well thought game. Reminds me of old battle-tech games of the 90s!

Go figure. I wouldn’t have guessed that the true purpose of a multibillion dollar streaming juggernaut was to enable me playing this game on my phone but there you go. The most value added to my subscription since great British bake-off.

Amazing tactics game. Played it on switch and even on the phone it’s still really good. You really have to carefully think out every move and use your brain. Very rewarding game that won’t try to take your money.

For every minute of fun, you get two minutes of frustration.. The most annoying aspect of this game is being unable to restart a round. I would probably enjoy this game if it had that option. I am giving it 2 stars instead of 1 because, when the game does not randomly punish you with ridiculous or unbeatable mechanics, it can be fun.

Awesome. Easy to resume games, great for just a 10 min break or for longer. Learning curve is a bit high, could use some instructions as to how to prioritize actions but haven’t found something this awesome in years.

Love this game!. This game really makes you think. Sometimes tough calls have to be made for victory. It’s a lot of fun, and you can also come and go as needed. It’s perfect if you have a busy schedule.

Amazing Game - Fix Network Requirement. This is a great game and I would play lots of money for it given the chance. But it’s free with Netflix so that’s fine too - but I can’t play it on a plane! So, so disappointing. FTL is my current go to and I wanted to sink my teeth into this one over a long flight. Alas, it won’t open even if I was logged in before. Please fix this. It is ridiculous. Or let me pay for the port separately.

Must play!. Everyone should play at least once into the breach to appreciate its genius design of gameplay mechanics and see all of the content it has to offer.

Great game but Netflix?. This is a great strategy game. Among my favorites. The learning curve is gentle with different difficulties and mechs unlocked. The variety of mechs, difficulties, achievements, and extended content can give hundreds of hours of exciting gameplay. No ads, no microtransactions, no waiting for play tokens, but stuck behind a Netflix paywall…

Best roguelike/puzzle game. Thank you so much for bringing this to mobile. Now, I can play this on the go! The controls on mobile are very intuitive and reliable, no bugs or crashes yet. I you like the game on PC or planning to try it, no reason to think twice!

Tactical war done right. This game is amazing short but impactful tactical missions with clear objectives and reasonable rewards. Definitely not easy but each mission is a like a puzzle and each mech is cool and there are many different options for different play styles.

Best game ever!. Difficult strategy game with simple rules and interesting skills. I have been playing this game in Switch for years, and I downloaded it again on my iPhone because I wanted to play it wherever I go.

Very Hard to play. I have to agree with others that the game is unfair in easy mode. Netflix login popping up in the middle of the game is gotta be fixed. Once logged in and playing my game should not be interrupted with log in please. Perhaps make the game a little easier, it’s no fun to play loosing most the time. People will just stop playing and cancel their required Netflix account….

Cool game to play on the train. Was looking at this game for a little while on the Switch. When I saw it was listed on Netflix it was a no brainier to download it. Short battles make for a great way to kill a few minutes on the train to work.

Fun game but can’t play without Netflix. I keep wanting to recommend this game to my friends but they don’t have active Netflix subscriptions. It would be awesome if we could buy the game instead of requiring an active Netflix subscription to play.

Incredibly refined and challenging strategy puzzler. Chess like strategy with Mechs and Kaiju..an absolutely brilliant game and amazing pickup for Netflix to support. Whoever at the big N was behind this decision knows what they are doing. Definitely has me paying attention to their moves in this space now.

Absolutely amazing game. Hard to think of a better game, and it works incredibly well for mobile. Very easy to knock out a mission or two when there’s spare time (or maybe spend a couple hours…….)

Amazing for passing time. I found this game a few days ago and ever since then it’s the only thing I play I love that it’s offline and very well done there are so many options and possibilities to play and different mechs to try

Long time fan. I unlocked every original squad on PC, and am looking forward to tackling the new content there! I’m also looking forward to rebuilding my save file on mobile… wish me luck with the Secret Squad!

My first ever review. I’m going to be honest I never write reviews but this game was just that good. Amazing single player, no adds, and if done correctly you don’t need WiFi (by that I mean having the app open before going offline ). Absolutely fantastic game.

Fun game but…. It’s fun strategy in a sort of Pacific Rim world -better description of units abilities while in the middle of a match -Needs a better tutorial on how upgrades work -stop muting sound from other apps. I like to listen to my own music when playing games and it just muted it every time even with sound turned down in the app

Great game ruined by its difficulty. I have played this game now for about a year. It is a fantastic game! Beautifully playable on a mobile phone. Totally engrossing. A strategy gamers delight. But…. Having played between 500 and 800 games I have won 60% at the easy level, 2% at the normal level, and 0% at the hard level. The easy level is about right in terms of difficulty. A hard introduction, but manageable with perseverance. The normal is too big a jump in difficulty. I have only won once (4 islands) in some 200 games. I have never even beaten a single island at the hard level! My two cents. Still love it.

Always online. This was a fantastic indie game and an instant cult classic in the same vein as FTL and Slay the Spire. It was just screaming to be ported to mobile. And it was… but a bitter sweet sorrow I’m afraid. NETFLIX bought the mobile publishing rights and to play you have to have a sub with them and always be online to play; a game mind you that has no multi player in any capacity whatsoever. A sad story for a great single player game that would have been awesome on the mobile platform.

Smooth and Provides Great Challenge on First Boss Level. Into the Breach works smoothly and provides a great level of challenge at the high difficulty level. Just completed the first island boss after a few repeated rounds and have enjoyed the learning through time travel approach of one campaign.

One of the best strategy games. I have revisited this game time and time again over the years! It never disappoints and all of the updates and difficulties always give me a reason to come back and play again. A fantastic, unique game!

Satisfied my craving for fun on the go. Recently saw that this was playable on the Netflix app and had to download it, I have it on my PC at home and this really makes it easy for when I’m on the go and away from home.
