Why no price on download?. Who cares if the download doesn’t cost anything if you can’t use the app without in-app purchases? “Patch Editing” is the in-app purchase, making it seem like it can be demoed without editing patches. Maybe great, but misleading.

Among the kings. This, mi rack and Drambo are my top 3 Modular’s. This has a unique flair and great ui. I do have small nitpicks. I’m getting a lil wonkyness with doubles clicks and zooming. I like lock mode. This has a great feel in general.Audulus for life!

Essential for Exploration and Experimentation. It’s wayyyyy better than max/msp and costs a tiny fraction of the price. This app is truly a gift.

A Visual Approach to Sound Design. Audulus is a visual tool for creating and manipulating sound. With a large selection of fundamental nodes and an even larger set of library modules, Audulus provides a wide variety of building blocks to create almost any synth or audio effect you can imagine. An active user community provides user contributed patches and modules as well as helpful advice. Version 4 has added many new features such as a graphical canvas and DSP node programmable in Lua, a shader node, MIDI I/O and other enhancements. The app continues to improve with each update. Ten out of ten!

The Best Gets Even Better. Audulus is a complete audio toolkit with a visually based approach to sound creation and modification. Version 4 adds a host of new functionality including MIDI output, new controls and enhanced graphical elements such as the canvas and shader node. Using the included library modules or building from scratch, it's possible to create virtual synths, audio effects, sequencers and a host of other audio creations. A new audio DSP node allows for direct Lua manipulation of the audio buffer. Outstanding!

Amazing!. Simply an amazing piece of software! For those who want to tinker with audio at the lowest level you can do no better than this (especially for the price!). Plus no data collected. Many kudos to this developer for providing a professional software experience while repecting their user's privacy and data.

Amazing. I love this app

Quality but complex and intimidating. This is a great app with a lot of manual controls that enable users to produce tha sound they want and are looking for. My only issue is, great work on tha Shepards tone btw, my only issue is that if u already aren’t familiar with sound construction this app can be intimidating and complex and may appear a bit scattered. Not for noobies. But if ur already familiar with sound design, this is fantastic and I do recommend. Thank you for building an incredible workstation.

Next Generation Modular Audio. Audulus feels to me like the future of modular audio -- essential tools akin to best-in-class apps (max/msp, reaktor, etc.), fluid and powerful gui, seamless workflow across macOS and ipadOS, standalone or AUv3 plugin. Really is pro-level -- code my own DSP, design my own graphics, without all the extra the hassle that comes with the coding in C . And now 4.3 includes multi-core processing -- a huge performance boost. My dream audio app, beautiful and deep.

Why no CC in module?. Audulus was great in responding when I couldn’t figure out how to get midi out. Now I am trying to make synths for my windsynth controller and discovered that there is a CC out module (node) but no CC in. I need to assign CC #2 breath to filters and envelopes. The synth modules sound great and with CC in they would be extremely good.

Best app for synthesis or eurorack integration. This app is by far the best iPad app for hans-on learning of audio synthesis concepts, patching up your own digital modular patch, or integrating with actual hardware! Great community to interact with if you have any questions or want to share any ideas/creations.

It’s the synth app I’ve been pining for. I’ve been using Audulus for just a week and WOW. This really is what I’ve been wanting but didn’t know existed. I picked up the Moog Model 15 app years ago and loved learning how to patch the components in nonstandard ways. But I wanted more…more LFO’s…Step sequencers to control LFO rates to control waveforms, etc. I haven’t yet found the limitations with Audulus. At first I thought I’d mostly be playing around conceptually, but I’ve already incorporated some Toto synth sounds to record in Cubasis using aux3. It did take me a few hours to really get going in making my own creations. But there are ample video tutorials and active Discord conversations. Thanks everyone who posted patches! It’s not for everyone. But if the notion of designing your own synths seems appealing, give it a try.

Patches, where are all the user patches?. I have changed my rating. Support was very helpful. It would be five stars if not for the lack of documentation. I realize this is a lot to ask of a developer but an app like this needs more comprehensive documentation. It is obviously a catch-22. I want to love this app. It’s so pretty and sounds nice. My problem is there appears to be no way to bring user patches into the AUv3 version. I don’t see a link or button. The app opens the factory patches, but not the examples I downloaded from the forum and patchstorage. Maybe I am missing something. It should be obvious in the UI, but it is not. It’s said both iPad and Mac version are available for single purchase (if I understand this right). The desktop version never connects to restore purchases. Very frustrating. Help! I want to keep this app. If I can’t bring my patches into AUv3 in AUM, there is no reason to keep it. Not interested in the limited number of factory presets. I don’t want ask for a refund. But almost $20 bucks is nothing to scoff at. Please don’t make me ask for a refund.

Audulus 4 is fantastic!. Audulus 4 is the stuff of dreams if, like me, you like to tinker and customize and are in love with sound. I've been able to design synths and effects to suit my interests. It has been great both for creating sounds I never thought I'd be able to make -- but also for understanding how sound "works".

Still one of the best apps ever made for music production. In the almost decade since firstly hearing about this app. I knew it was ahead of it’s time. Even back in 2015/2016 I was always amazed at how quickly forum questions get answered. You may even luck out and get a reply from one of the actual authors of this amazing software. That is unrivaled support. Show me another app where the creators themselves are actively taking part in discussion posts. I dare you to show me one app. For anybody who is ever complaining about the need for sideloading, simply making a backup of your device will virtually ensure your ability to download a previous version. I have 3 and 4 running on the same apple device no problems. I did run into issues with my license working for 3 but it was because it was purchased on someone else’s Apple ID. I digress with my pedal board not operational, it’s insane to me how treated a guitar will sound using just this one app. Absolutely one of my favorite ways to manufacture: REVERB. I am only ever using 1% of the capacity this app will furnish and the room it puts me in is large enough to stay lost for hours at a time. Thank you very much for making this app.

intriguing, still studying before making my first experiment. 5 Stars now! Very wild and deep experience! I just added a couple of new nodes to one of the templates to add an LFO change to one of the controls. Wow. So nodes can nest within modules that can nest within other modules. This is going to be a lot of fun. No crashes, and live patching without pops and glitches on a 2018 macbook. Good job! Earlier: Upgraded my rating to 4 after trying out each of the supplied music templates on iOS.... intriguing, am now reading the documentation about the nodes...
 And preparing for Mac OSX upgrade.... Update: The upgrade to OSX 13.1 went ok. 
Original title: Forced upgrades to OSX and iOS. Very inconvenient

This software looks really great. It forced me to do an upgrade of the iOS on my iPad, ok, no big deal, did that, now I have a bunch of new stuff to get used, hope I chose an iOS that isnt horribly buggy.... But forcing me to upgrade my Mac OX from 12.3.1, where everything is working just fine, and I know I have other software that is not compatible of an OSX upgrade, this is really no bueno of Audulus. Really not looking forward to losing other software, and all the other instability that I will likely find in the ecosystem of apps I use on my Mac, whose usage is much more series, and less tolerant of breaking things. Please in the future dont force your users to be on the bleeding edge of OS upgrades. Your software looks really great, but it is hard to imagine you could not have made your app continue to work on a prior OS like most other major software continues to do...... This whole issue of software forced OS upgrades, and the ripple instabilities and problems, is exacly why some people are devoted to hardware based music production, such as on Akai MPC's and such. A studio can stay working for years and years, with all the workflow the artists have learned, and none of the periodic "sorry the studio is down, we did an OS upgrade and now we cant read the NTFS backup volumes until we find a new software driver." ...... I will update my review after I go through this painful upgrade, it looks like you do enough cool stuff compared to my other variety of modular synth softwares, to make the pain worth it.

Great Support from Developer. They have video tutorials, a Discord, and a website. The app is complex but there’s enough first class support to get started. They will help you with projects you want to do.

Absolute CPU eater!. Tried demo on Gen 1 iPad Pro, most of the demo patches stutter like crazy with 80% or higher cpu usage. You will need an m1/2 to run this unfortunately. So a current Gen iPad Pro. Unfortunate.

The Future of Music. Luckily this has been in develpment for many years, now into version 4. As the feature set evolves, I find it leads to the appreciation of those tools. This is a good time to get in and watch it all unfold.

Excellence. If you’re into modular synths and especially DSP audio programming like in Max MSP, Reaktor or Pure Data, Audulus is an absolute 100% must have. Completely unrivalled on iOS. Bonus, it also does GSGL style Shaders and procedural LUA script graphics.

Keeps freezing. On iPad Pro. Latest OS 16.5.1(c). As soon as I add a node or module, it freezes. Can’t even zoom in or out. The cpu usage is at something low, like 9%, so that’s not the problem. I wish I could get my 40$ back as it is completely unusable.
