Good for beginners. The iPad app is a little clunky and not intuitive. I cannot seem to rotate my model. Also I just prefer other sculpting programs. Personally it wasn’t a good for for me but someone else may get better use.

Great start. The app feels great. I think with a few more features it could be amazing. It’s an exciting start. Things I think it needs are: Layers-being able to put sculpted parts in layers would really help. Like eyeballs when sculpting a head. Masking-a masking tool would be very useful. Especially with the move tool. The pinch tool could use some deform with it. Pinching and pushing in or out at the same time. In general the speed/strength of the tools needs to be able to go much higher. I have to go so small on the scale factor to get any responsiveness that I can’t sculpt details. The carve tool could have a few shape options since it looks like it’s just using a sphere as the extrusion. A smooth stroke option would be nice. A transform tool would be needed if layers were implemented that allows the whole object to be moved without deforming it. I can’t wait to see where this app goes.

Great start. The app has a potential, especially with the Move toll coming soon. Without texturing, posing and ability to export transparent background PNGs, it's only a toy. However, it's a big toy: app and data take almost 8.5 GB of memory. I either had to remove everything else or the app itself. I removed the app. There must be a way to remove its data (templates, etc.) without removing the app (which is not so huge).

The app didn’t even download, I want a refund.. When I downloaded this app I was pretty excited to use it, and opened it right away. But when I tried to open it, it just brought me to my tablet’s files app. It told me there were no files found, and I would like my money back if I’m not going to actually get the app.

Best Sculpting feel yet on IOS. So far I love where this app is going. The controlled ability to rough out forms and slice geometry feels more like desktop digital sculpting than anything that I’ve used on IOS. Procreate was the reason that I bought an IPad Pro. This may be the app that justifies an upgrade to the 2018 iPad Pro for me. Im really looking forward to see Sculptura developed to it’s potential. I’m a professor of game art & industry veteran.

Can you make version similar to 123D sculpt?. I try use this app but it not good like I the old app you to have. So can you bring back that old app or make a newer version of that that? If you can bring that app back or make a similar app that will make me happy.

Way too laggy on iPad Pro 1st gen. So far, this app just doesn’t work smoothly on my iPad Pro 1st gen. That would only leave the current iPad Pro as a useable model for this app. The lag is almost always present and at times makes the app unusable. The app is also too slim on tools and is missing major things like a move tool. While the app looks nice and has great materials to work with, the app just isn’t ready or worth the $20 asking price.

Incredibly laggy. App is incredibly laggy, crashes very often. Sometimes when I try and undo things, is undos more than i want it to also. The app itself is pretty good for sculpting and 3d modeling, but the lag and crashing makes it almost unuseable.

Great App, a few future updates will make it the best.. I love this app. It’s super easy to use, and I can get a pretty decent level of detail out of my models. Like in previous reviewers, I do believe it could do with a few more base templates and a move tool. MY personal issue with it is the cutoff. I was sculpting a dragon and I wasn’t able to complete the entire body because there was a limit to the area in which I could sculpt. Other than that, I love it. 🙃

Works pretty well on 9.7 iPad with pencil. Bought on a whim and it was a great intro into a zbrush like software. It slows a bit when smoothing fast and its not a full 3d modeling program by any means. Best for single subjects like heads and not full bodies/compositions. It was pretty intuitive for a beginner as I’m someone who mainly draws and got this for fun. Would like to see some more features but it’s a solid app for 5$.

Fantastic App. Game changer if you’re into 3D modeling. I am making models that I couldn’t have dreamt of before on my IPad with or without the pencil in May 2020. A big shout out to the genius developers. You guys are crazy...crazy and I love you guys thankfully from the bottom of my IPad Pro 12 inch IPad. Stay strong and please keep developing. Genius!

Favorite Sculpting. This is by far my favorite sculpting app in the App Store choices, I own them all like Forger and Putty 3D. They are all great but this is my favorite. It’s reminiscent of Scupltris on PC. Very easy to use with all the necessary tools to properly sculpt. None to the creator of this app please consider adding pixel painting and you will have pure perfection gem of an app.

Potential. To be honest, the first time I used this app was the first time I even tried 3D sculpting. At first I was so, so, so confused and kind of distraught about having spent 10 dollars on this app. I felt like I couldn’t make anything on this app. However, while it’s still harder to me than using actual clay, after a few hours of trying with the app I think I’ve finally gotten the hang of it (mostly). I think my main hurdles right now are that it’s hard to rotate in some of the directions for some reason, I keep having a hard time positioning new limbs and where they’re pointing in space (but maybe that’ll just come with practice), and detail work has been a tad bit hard. For the last problem, I feel like my experience would probably improve with the addition of layers and different tip effects for the sculpting tools like other people have said. One other thing that might be cool to see in this app for me is the ability to paint sculptures. For what it is right now, I think it’s a dang good tool especially for the price, and it will only get better with time.

Great entry into sculpting away from the desk. I’ve always wanted an easy to use sculpting app that I could load quickly and bust out an idea. The export and native sharing with cloud storage like Dropbox helps with continuing my work in other desktop applications as well. I can’t wait to see how this app grows!

Crash and buggy. Keeps crashing and screen keeps snapping larger. Not really designed for iPad 6. The Apple Pencil response is ok but sometimes nothing happens after adjusting size. Wish I could have tried it before I bought it. Was considering another app but this one saves in more formats which was appealing. Upset over that decision now.

I was so excited. I was really excited to try out this program. I read a lot of positive reviews and decided to make the purchase. Unfortunately, the app crashes after a single stroke. I’m hoping this is something that can be resolved in the future. But until then, I won’t be able to use it. From what I was able to see, it seems easy enough to navigate. It’s not too crowded or overwhelming.

Waste. I was excited to use this app, but it crashes upon launch. Sometimes I can use it for a bit but then it crashes after about five minutes, which deletes all your progress. It may work for others, but until I find an actual solution I’d say don’t risk it. I wasted ten dollars for a useless app.

Helpful customer support. I bought this app by accident & Apple refused to refund me. Sculptura customer service was willing to issue me my refund but Apple refused to allow this. This app did not work for me as I needed a 3D modeling app not a 3D sculpting app, but I am sure the app is great for 3D sculpting. Their customer support is fantastic, but unfortunately Apple’s customer support is absolutely garbage, unethical, & violates every possible consumer right.

The best sculpting app! It’s like z-brush on the go!. 👏Excellent app! The only things missing for 5 stars are import obj, more brushes(move tool). Looking forward for new updates 👍.

Suggestion. I was wanting to know if you could please do a step by step by step, full body for both female and male from head to toe anatomy? And just a few more tool. I do like this program.

Keep it up!. Wow guys great job so far, thank you sooo so much for the “Pull” tool! This is shaping up to be a super amazing app. Going to stay 5 stars for the absence of greed alone, I hate the insanely high monthly subscription junk that’s all over the market. 2 things I would love to see: 1.) the ability to insert other objects such as spheres or other projects and the ability to highlight and select them to work separate from the main sculpt. 2.) the ability to insert reference art in the work space to line up sculpts. Not sure if those are possible, Just what I miss about other modeling apps! Really enjoying it so far though, thank you guys so so so soooo much.

Great app. So far it’s great. Started with a sphere and made a demon head within thirty min first time i am using the app with tons of detail while i relax. The move tool requires converting the mesh which is annoying.

Losing progress, not worth $10 at all. I have had the app for only two days and have already lost two projects. The projects either become pixelated and force me to restart, or turn completely invisible and again, force me to restart. I am extremely disappointed with the performance of an application on the more expensive end of iPad apps, and if I could get a refund I would snatch it up in a second.

Crashes. Oh man... I got so far in my sculpt. But then I lost every IG in the open file while working. The whole thing just vanished. Every other function was working. Would even allow saves, even though my whole sculpt was gone... this is great over all... but I really hope you can fix that. I’m scared to use it now.

No Documentation…ANYWHERE. While the software seems responsive, for a complete noob it’s pretty useless without at least a little guidance. I have searched the Internet multiple times and asked on their Discord (without any response) about tutorials. NO tutorials apparently exist, just some fast videos showing people making things but not explaining the tools or how they are doing what they are doing. At least Nomad has a bunch of tutorials all over the internet.

Move Tool features are finally patched in!. Prior to this update, it would take me 5x longer to make a decent looking model in this app using whatever sculpting workarounds I could muster, compared to what I could do in other desktop apps. Now that the Move Tool’s available, I’m able to crank out decent models as quickly as with similar desktop apps, minus the desktop/laptop+pen tablet clunkiness. The lack of any copy/paste and transform features is still a minus, but at least I’m able to make entire figures in a neutral T-pose and then export the figure (either as a whole or in pieces (Duplicate model, use Cut Tool)) to another modeling package for posing, welding, and finishing. The developer says the next feature coming down the pipeline is going to be Layers. If the transform tools are going to be integrated with it, that might provide me what I need to pose the model away from the generic T-poses.

It’s a great app. I really enjoy using this app. There are some problems but overall it works fantastically. I wish there was a way to rotate a model in the app as sometimes when importing a model it’s not oriented correctly so the camera controls don’t work correctly. The only other gripe I have with the app is that there is no real tutorial so it took trial and error to figure out what all the tools do. Besides those issues this app works amazingly. It’s smooth to work and it’s very easy to import and work on projects. Highly recommend it to anyone that wants to do this style of 3D modeling.

WOW best Sculpt stool I’ve found. I have them all, Putty, Forger, Shapr3D all of them. This one is the best. The quality of the file is amazing for 3D printing or taking to render. I live in this app as a professional.

Real great Just needs more updates. I bought this about a year ago, and the updates have come slow with few feature or performance improvments

Not what I expected,, at all :/. That video that’s there as an example...isn’t really true, the app is really buggy,, and moving it is rly rly slow,, makes it rly stressful. When turning around my iPad, it looks squished? Like the sculpture becomes squished?? Rly annoying, It doesn’t work fast at all, as I said, like when I’m softening stuff in the sculpture it kinda lags, a lot. When I move it to a different angle it kinda glitches AND lags sometimes... They also don’t have a wider variety of textures wich is kinda odd since it should be “better” than the Sculptura pocket? I didn’t think I would say this but I think that Sculptura POCKET is more better?? It just works faster, a lot faster actually... I’m honestly kinda disappointed since I really like sculpting apps and sculpting in general, I feel like the $10 is just,,???

Best use of an iPad Pro app so far. When the iPad Pro first came out, I was curious what kind of apps could take advantage of the beefy specs and stylus. Sculptura finally gets the most out this hardware with a really smooth and high res 3D sculpture experience. Something about the UI and the form factor of the tablet really blurs the line between sketching and sculpting in a way I haven’t experienced before. From now on, this is how I’m going to do 3D character sculpting!

Not as good as it seemed. Thought this might be simple of enough to use. Too simple really not much for tools and no way to learn how to use it. Trial and error interface! No tutorials whatsoever just some speed paints. Sorry I WASTED 10 bucks. Should have gone with nomad. Now I have to cough up $15 more instead of just $5 if I kept on scrolling.

Unfinished? Very buggy. I am very disappointed. I purchased this app expecting a finished product. Instead I wasted hours and even purchased a new iPad partially in hopes that it would work. I contacted the developer, and while they were very nice and seemed genuinely interested in resolving the issues, I still get a magenta screen of death every time I try to switch tools. I do not recommend this app. Perhaps it will be usable when the bugs are resolved.

Suggestions And Feeling. I’ve had 3D sculpting experiences in the past and I’m glad to have that feeling again! I’m relatively new too this app and I’m still learning but is there a way to paint your sculptures and details? Anyway for me it’s a 5 star because I love being able to Sculpt again! Definitely worth the money if you have experience in the past or just starting out. Bit of a learning curve though, best regards. Gavin,

So awesome this can be done on an iPad!. Easily the best sculpting experience I’ve tried on the iPad. Super performant, intuitive with the same shortcuts as other apps like procreate, and just enough tools to be dangerous

Very novel first attempt. However, for being so limited I feel the price the developer is asking is simply not worth the value of the app...had I known it would be so slowly to work in I would have just stuck with Zbrush for everything. It works well for what it is, but please don’t expect to make any real final work in this app it’s way to buggy and clunky to work in for that. I will update my review as the developer works on the app, but for now I’m simply not able to give it anything more than a two, mostly the price is what bothers me...shouldn’t cost anything to essentially beta test an app.

Had hope for this app.... But barely anything works. I can’t turn the model, I can’t use any of other tools at all other then adding/drawing, and even that is a hassle. Nothing is working and am incredibly disappointed. Was hoping for something to help with my 3D work and was met with an app that won’t work.

Amazing app but it has a major problem.... It’s very easy to use and I love it. I’ve already got used to the app but sometimes the app crashes and it removes a part of my sculpting process or can’t access it anymore.

Export issues. Refuses to export, I’ll choose format save to files and it just sits there never changing. No other apps open, tried restarting iPad nothing. Not even just exporting the base male bust provided. Obj stl or the usd none of them will work. Tried opening stl in another app (Shapr3D) instead of saving and it says it can’t because the file is damaged

This is what I was looking for!. I have tried other apps and struggled to get control. I always felt like I was fighting them to do what I wanted. I am still learning but within a few minutes I was roughing out my form faster than ever before. This is the app you were looking for too, I believe. Want to sculpt quickly and intuitively with a clean non cluttered interface? I am sure there are features that i will wish it had and ones that i haven’t found yet, however right off the start this is better than any other. The additive/ subtractive sculpting with a quick smoothing feature allows you work very fast. I am very impressed.

Wanted to try 3d sculpting and I like it. I like this app i just wish theres an easier way too navigate go up down left and right. Like a circle that u can move around that moves the angle ur sculpting on. Overall great app !

Deleted my work. When I was working on a sculpt and had to hit undo, the whole thing disappeared. I hit undo again and it was back. So I kept going on and tried undoing again and it disappeared. I made it reappear again and then exit to duplicate the sculpt I worked on Incase it disappeared forever, and when I clicked on either one it was plant. Why? Very fun and easy to use this app but why won’t it save anything?

So far, so good (I guess). Just started my first 3D art with this, and so far I like it a lot. It took a few hours to figure most of the tools out, and I am enjoying the app. There are a few changes though that I would like to point out and suggest - 1st and foremost is the document size. I wasn’t able to get halfway through my project without it say the file was too large; several times I had to resize, and I don’t know what it is doing to my project. 2nd, I feel like there should be a little bit more freedom with your art, such as easy access to color, and finer tools. Overall, I feel like I spent my money pretty well. This app was well-made and enjoyable, and it gave me a new experience for a change.

Terrible. I’ve messed with this program for well over 2 hours now and don’t understand it at all. And having no video tutorials makes it difficult to learn as well for those who can’t just read something and have it click like that. Would really like to get my money back as I really don’t think I’ll ever open this program again.

slow performance on gen3 ipads. I have the 3rd gen (2018) iPad Pro, and it struggles to keep up with this app. Must just be too old, but I wish there was a mode that allowed for low-poly rendering like difference in Evee and Cycles in Blender, so if I don’t need high-res rendering while sculpting, I could get more responsive sculpting/realness. App is pretty amazing though all in all!

Nice for a launch. I understand that this is a sculpting app but it needs to be a modeler too to be Pro. There are few default templates. Three of five are spheres of 3 sizes. A pinch/move tool would be great, there’s only so much you can do, so fast. The binding box is small, can’t sculpt a full person. The Pros are that the mirror can be turned on and off at anytime without affecting the sculpt. That’s really cool, blender3D can’t do that without a add-on (probably) but this is also a paid app, blender isn’t per say. Can’t wait to see what these awesome devs can do.

User friendly. I love this program. It’s fun to hop on and just sculpt with a few tools in the morning without having to do anything in depth. This can be viewed as a sculptures sketchbook without the sketching haha. The professional will think this to be too limited but the hobbyist will find this to be a great way to learn and kill time. Overall the hands on nature of this program make the experience really enjoyable and I couldn’t be happier.

Probably the best sculpting app on iOS. I've been a professional 3D modeler and digital artist for years, and this is a Great app. it's not perfect (yet) but huge potential. Here are a few pros and cons. PROs Great simple intuitive UI Good tool set Two finger undo is a huge plus! The cut tool is excellent Great forum and user engagement Nice selection of shaders Responsive developers stable, no crashes on my 10.5 iPad Pro CONs No masking (huge letdown as other apps offer this) No multiple objects No primitives Price is a bit high compared to other apps No layers (yet) No Sub-D levels Finally. I think with time, if the developers keep updating this, it will be a very competitive sculpting app on any platform. The ease of use and great UI make it simple to learn but it also offers a robust sculpting environment for 'on the go' modeling. Definitely worth the price.

Almost Perfect. This app is the best I've downloaded from the App store. I have Zbrush and this is far easier to use. A couple things that would improve it would be; a "continous freehand pull" feature, and a "layer feature" similar to the way photoshop would work. So I could add and blend a layer but have the ability to hide and/or suppress the layer. Overall worth the money.

Elegant, powerful, fun, fast!. Sculptura is wonderful! It runs flawlessly on my 2017 iPad Pro. Such an elegant and responsive interface, so easy to learn and fun to use. And, also, thanks for the very reasonable price!

Very Limited for a premium priced app. I am a zBrush user and was looking for something portable for sculpting quick ideas. I find this app super limited in its tools and has almost zero tool customisation options apart from size and strength. It feels clunky to use at this point. Hoping for future improvements.

Bad game. Really bad, I bought this game for 15$ but it is really glitchy and hard to use, it might be good for people who want to scalp for hours but I don’t. Non of the tools work very well and I think it is not a good app!

Can’t import its own exported .obj files. Round trip of an .obj failed. Trying to import any other .obj or .stl files also failed. These were small models of low complexity. The only feedback is a wiggle. I just wasted $15 on a broken app. If you can import your own exported files then why bother to claim that you can. .obj support was the only reason I bought this app. Using IPad Pro 1st Gen.

Needs the abilities to import obj files. This is really intuitive and easy to learn, however it doesn’t have all the tools I need. If it allowed to import obj files and the ability to have separate objects, it would be perfect.

Brilliant.. This is a fabulous app .

Complete Waste of Money. I initially believed it was working so badly as my IPad Pro is now 5 years old. I asked Apple for a refund then installed Nomad Sulpt, which though a little more expensive, is amazing, and bares no comparison to this which is glitchy and very amateur.

Great 3D sculpting app. If your looking for a zbrush lite app on iOS look no further!

Terrible. I downloaded this app after reading a positive review in an online article. My iPad is relatively new and still I can’t get this app to work as it constantly freezes and crashes. Very disappointing

A feature that would be very helpful. Would be to be able to save parts as components so we can make multiple parts of a sculpture for printing. The ability to click and drag unconnected parts. Just opens up a whole lot more options for 3d printing Also there’s no way to actually size what your making in any real way... when I exported the thing it came up as 1mtr long and the file size was massive! It’s fun but it’s ultimately a toy more then a useful program

Awesome. I’ve been waiting soooo long for a straightforward sculpting app to come to iPad...finally it’s here. Very effective and stable on my iPad. Some great features! No messing around, just start sculpting...which is what I was waiting for. Can’t wait to see this program evolve!

Very impressed!. I had never heard of Sculptura and just happened to find it while doing a search for sculpting apps. I was a bit hesitant to buy it but am really glad that I did. I love how smooth and clean the sculpting is. Am very impressed with being able to cut away sections, add rods of clay for building structures, etc. This actually reminds of a stripped down version of 3D Coat (which is high praise from me). It’s a clean UI with easy to use tools. I don’t know that it’s as advanced enough for a professional power sculptor but I think it has a ton of potential. My only critique right now is that I wish it had a tool for masking off portions of the clay so that I can focus on specific areas. But so far I really like it a lot. Nice job! 👍👍

Kind of annoying. Kind of annoying- can’t import 3D objects properly, some buttons don’t work or aren’t there

Terrible. Used it for 5 minutes, half of that time used to wait for lagging to stop

Potential. This one offers the most satisfying sculpting experience out of all the apps available. It's kind of like Procreate for 3D with a well thought out interface. Has a lot of missing functionality for power users but looks like the developer is very active so I'm optimistic.

Seemed promising. I bought this app to create models I would then export to Procreate to paint. Unfortunately, Procreate can’t open the .obj file because it’s missing UVs so the file is not supported. I’m pretty disappointed as I have no purpose for it now. Could this feature potentially be part of an upgrade?

Not compatible. This worked great on my last iPad but eventually my projects got to big and I needed a more advanced device. Bought an iPad Pro but this app can’t seem to run it properly. So it’s kind of useless now. To bad.

Very disappointed. Quite disappointed with this application, can’t seem to find an edit tool, or an undo tool, can’t even find help.

Best of its kind. Absolutely the best 3D sculpting app I’ve found for iOS. Hope to see more file types supported in the future, but obj is good.

Cool to do base meshes. Still misses a lot of tools to get to a final sculpt fast. Also it doesn’t uses the space smartly on ipad pro... but you can do base meshes on the go and finish it later in another software.

Incredibly Disappointing for Price. The lack of tools, slow undo and tool responsiveness as well as the fact that UVs are missing from exported models do not make it worth its price

Love it but missing tool. Would be perfect for me if there was a flat falloff style. Also, as time goes it starts to lag

?. Is there a certain place to get different models or templets ? I can’t get any to import

Crashes a lot. Too many crashes

This needs uv texture painting. There’s no good option to paint textures on the iPad. If you could add this feature it would be a much better app.

Opening projects. The app itself and its features are fantastic, especially compared to other modeling apps. (Maybe the best I’ve had!) The app has frequently crashed though, and that’s been a big issue, because some of my work won’t save recent changes, and when I try to open the project I was working on, it won’t open. I want to use this app all the time, but this is a huge issue, especially for a 10.00 app. Please fix this!

File size insanity. Loaded one of the blank bust files and found that after playing around for 10 min my file size bloat to 4.8gb. Very disappointed

Please fix. I love this app but there is no support and this app seems to get worse. I love using it but I can no longer export my files

Deletes project randomly. Seems fun but it’s super buggy to the point of unusability :(

Keeps freezing on me. Once I start using the app, I can’t switch to another tool.

Great start! However.... Needs leveling up and down on subdivision surfaces. Managing high polygons all at once is not ideal. Needs multiple objects. I know it is just iPad but at least 3 to start with. Needs import images for quick reference. Hope this app improves over time. Could be a game changer for me.

Suggestion. I like this app I'm able to sculpt pretty easily. Although I do wish there was a way to paint these sculptures

No updates?. I’ve had this for year and while it’s ok it leaves much to be desired. There’s no southpaw mode. It saves on your iCloud to save space but then you lose fingernails. I would like to see this get some updates in the future

🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨. It’s been crashing last two or three updates it crashes immediately ipad 6

This is total garbage.. I can’t do anything with this. $9.99. really. Please refund my money. There is no instructions on what the tools do. There is a very limited supply of tools. PLEASE REFUND ME.

Glitches?. I loved the app at first! But I lost all my progress as my sculpt turned into a bunch of red pixels, disappointing to say the least, but if it doesn’t do this it would be incredible!

deletes your projects. want to work over 5 hours on a project only for it to disappear? you're in the right place. please refund me for this terrible app.

Not working. Cannot even create a file! On an iPad Pro, just bought the app, does nothing. Please fix or offer refund, thanks. I thought it would work but I cannot even create a project!

Screen freezing. Every time I use the app and sculpt with my pen, the screen freezes and I have to get out of it and it undos my progress.

Rotate tool?. I can’t seem to rotate the model???

Great app. I really like this program but it is hard to find info about it. Tutorials and guides basically don’t exist.

Where is the pen pressure?. From the videos posted it would seem like there is pen pressure but soon as I use it there is none. Is that on purpose? Its bugged as well. I’m waiting for a response otherwise I’ll be contacting my CC company in the coming days since the program is not as it was made to be.

Crashes upon export. I was told that this app would handle STL file exports for 3D printing and so far the app crashes every time I try to export my Rujin Solider sculpt. Please fix this.

Losing work. Wayyyy too easy to lose work, I’ve made 5 models so far and lost all of them. They get pixelated and corrupted.

Great app. This is an amazing tool, easy to integrate into workflow. Please keep developing it.

I want my money back. I don’t like the app

This app is a joke!. I wasn’t expecting zbrush on iPad or anything but this app is just a complete joke. You would be better off sculpting in MS paint. The selection of brushes and tools are so limiting I can’t even really use this for playing with ideas while lounging around. I am extremely disappointed!

It’s not ready. There are too many basic features missing.

Barebones but nice. beginner here but it’s pretty simple

Does Not Work. I have an iPad Pro 2018 edition and I can’t even open a template. Spent $10 on an app I can not use.

Crashes and lacks basic features. For example an easy to rotate axis? No. Ah, maybe some sort of auto safe option! No. Hmm, what about a way to scale in xyz. HA, no It’s alright honestly, I’m making nice things but the lack of basic features and stability irritates me. I see it as lazy.

Meh. Great potential, but almost no documentation. Developer mostly treats this as a personal project and doesn’t appear to support users in any way.

There will be a day when this app kills zbrush. But it is not this day.. Summary: Brilliant concept that doesn’t have the problems of other 3d sculpting software, but also doesn’t have the features. For context I’m a professional environment artist at a video game studio, so I use zbrush regularly and have experience with multiple 3d modeling and sculpting programs. Also, to give it the benefit of the doubt, some of the complaints I have could be my lack of experience with this particular program and there might be ways to do them. Also I have a first generation iPad Pro. 1. Features - 2.5 out of 5 stars The core system of this app is phenomenal. I love the way sculpting feels, and how much freedom it gives you. I don't need to think about subdivisions, or dynameshing or anything like that. Its just me and the clay. However, the main think that keeps this app from being my go-to for sculpting on an iPad is the lack of basic features. I give them some extra credit for not just trying to copy zbrush brush because that program is a mix of both trash and brilliance, but its just not there yet, especially when you compare it to Forger. There are some unique/cool things like the slice brush (ITS AMAZING) but its not enough to offset what is missing. Needed features: - Brush Falloff - Invert option on the brush (the flatten brush especially needs this, let me decide if it pulls the clay towards me or pushes it down, or both) - More range in the size/speed options (while we’re at it, can we just use “strength” like every other program ever, instead of “speed”). - Some sort of layering or subtool system where you can add objects, merge them, etc. - More Brushes (specifically dam standard and planar) 2. Performance - 4 out of 5 stars Here I’m actually pretty impressed. The tech they use performs much better than other sculpting programs on the iPad. I def understand the struggle. Zbrush can easily chug down a dedicated gaming pc, so getting something like that to run on an iPad has to be a huge challenge. Overall I’d say they nailed it. I dont expect it to be lightning fast, and most of the time its faster and more responsive than I expect. Bravo. The only reason it gets 4 out of 5 stars is the whole scale and object down to increase the performance. That isn’t very intuitive or practical. 3. UI - 3 out of 5 stars Sculptura feels like a native iPad app. I can open it alongside something like Procreate and not feel like I’m getting a totally different experience. The UI and UX are simple and good. There are some things that hold them back, specifically confusing names, ambiguous symbols, but overall they manage to get rid of all the confusing bull s*** that is zbrush‘s UI. Comparatively, Forger feels like someone tried to port zbrush, or more accurately Sculptris, to an iPad... Its functional, but the UI and UX don’t feel intuitive. 3. Vs. the Competition If you insist on trying to sculpt game ready assets on an iPad, right now Forger is your only option imo. They have the tools you need/expect, its just clunky and slow. I don’t I can recommend Sculptura at this point. Its more expensive than and has half the features. If you just want something to mess around in, you’ll have a lot more fun on Sculptura. The clay feels great, you don't have to think about the usual hassles of sculpting in 3d, and the UI is pretty decently. Honestly it would a steal at $10 if they added in the features I listed. I I’m crossing my fingers that with some updates that add in missing features, sculpting for games on an iPad could actually become a reality. I hope the project gets enough funding to continue adding in features and polishing up the UI/UX to make it a viable option for professionals. Given a few more iterations after that I don't see why I would ever need to open zbrush.

It’s ok. It’s no basic Zbrush, or Procreate.. Lacks finesse: gesture shortcuts, more/better brush options/control. Undo’s are also a bit slow. Feel like I’m smoothing a lot due to bad/only clay buildup brush

Not what I was looking for, especially for ten dollars. Is there a way to get my money back or am I just screwed? There was a sculpting app on the earlier version of the iPad that let me reposition add ons, this app just overly complicates a few things that bothers me.

SCAM OR BIG GLITCH. whenever I try to open a file it just restarts my ipad either this is one large scam or just a glitch FIX PLEASE

Keeps crashing. App crashes every time I open it. I have plenty of space on my iPad but the app seems buggy. Just wasted $10.

Regret buying. Tools provides poor control over your sculpt. I don’t expect it to feel like Zbrush but I am struggling to sculpt simple things because of poor control. I don’t have this issue with Forger. Very disappointed.

Would like a refund!. App does not perform well what so ever! Waste of 10 bucks

Great app…until. I rotated the camera and became stuck inside my model. 3 hours of sculpting gone.

Great App!. Fun and intuitive.

Good balance of features and ease of use.. I love this app! I have forger, and like it too, but MUCH prefer at least starting my sculpt in Sculptura. If you’re not use to voxel sculpting it takes a bit to get the hang of, but after that you have a lot of creative freedom. Sculptura pros: 1- Voxel based sculpting means way more freedom to explore. No base mesh tearing or polygon sculpting limitations. Makes sculpting an organic process much more like clay. 2- Simple UI and toolset that feels like it’s designed around being a tablet app first vs a wanna be desktop app replacement. 3- Very resource efficient. I can sculpt for hours on my iPad with this app. 4- Exports to some very usable formats including USD and OBJ. 5- Tools perform fairly well esp at default res/cloud size. Move tool has great performance and doesn’t mess up you sculpt with artifacts. Tube and sphere tools are supper fast for building up forms. Much faster than dragging out and brush layering methods. 6- Matcaps. These really help show the form and help find problem areas. Rotation on matcaps is esp helpful too. Cons: 1- Can’t have more than one object. This makes sculpting a scene harder and more tricky. Like clothes on a character etc. if objects are close they merge (which isn’t always a bad thing) since it’s voxel based. 2- No hide or mask function. This means you can’t do some things like pulling out features from a mask like teeth, or move a part close to another with a large brush without moving them both. 3- Smooth tools need to scale better with res/size. The defaults at default point cloud/grid size are way too aggressive. I use them at between 1-10% mostly. 4- Up resing can mess with you details. Can be worked around, but is unfortunate. Over all a great app once you get the hang of it. You can get VERY far in sculptura alone, but if you start in sculptura and finish little details in forger you’ve got the most power sculpt wise per dollar on any platform.

Keeps crashing. Can't keep the app running long enough to learn it.

Progress Gone.. Just worked for 4 hours on a project. Closed the app. All progress completely reverted to an earlier version. I’ll never use this again.

Tools are great. Please keep improving it.

Good, too glitchy. Way too many glitches.

Simple yet thrilling. As the app continues to evolve, what remains the same is the smooth responsive sculpting. Exporting to an obj file is a breeze and soon importing will be also.

Good. The update fixed the problem I was having. The app is good so far.

Horrendous Storage Filler. Good sculpting app, awful at storage optimization. I worked on two projects and the undo history on my second project filled my iPad with 32 GIGABYTES OF DOCUMENTS AND DATA. Fix this, and the app will be usable. As of now DO NOT BUY.

Nice!. This app is actually really good! It’s all that I expected it to be. Met all my expectations and I love it to bits!

Not great. It’s really hard to use.
