Save $2 - use free version. The “PRO” version does nothing useful over the free version. I was looking for auto gain control for the iQ7 microphone, but it turns out it’s not available for the iQ7 on *either* version of Handy Recorder. It also doesn’t let you set the WAV sample rate, which would be helpful.

Can’t set the sample rate. Rode Rec was better. But has stopped working :/ The old version of the iXY mic was so much better . This new I’ve feels like junk. Very disappointed.

Don’t get it!!!. With the new update it doesn’t work anymore I even bought it! Don’t waste you money on this!!!

Everything you need !. This app blew my mind! I was able to do everything I regularly do on my phone! And it’s very intuitive. Thank you Zoom!

Can’t set the recording level??!. What’s like the very first thing you want to be able to do with a custom recording app? How about turn off auto gain and manually set the recording level. Can this do that? Well there’s a menu option “auto gain” but it just says unsupported function. Pitiful, absolutely pitiful.

5 stars of nothing.. The and apo does not fulfilled my expectations. No easy editing.

Good stuff. I enjoy the microphone for field recordings. How can I access my files that were recorded in the standard version from the PRO version? I just upgraded and would like to pull in all my existing files.

Wasted Two Bucks - Hope You Don’t. So I was trying to use some of the auto features and it said those weren’t available. So I found the pro version and it did literally nothing more for me. Those features are apparently tied to the microphones. I have trusted Zoom for many years and I love my H4n, but this kind of shady game is a quick way to shed customer loyalty in a hurry. I can’t even tell you how many other people have H4n’s or better because of my recommendations. Don’t waste your money on this, especially if you trust Zoom and want to keep trusting them. UPDATE: This is the most useless product I’ve encountered in a long time. Like the free version, this one seems only engineered to “encourage,” purchasing a microphone and seems more like an afterthought than a handy recorder. There isn’t even a way to get the files from the free version INTO this version or even have the Pro version even see the files from the free version. This is deeply marred my opinion of Zoom and I sincerely hope they either completely remove this dreadful pair of products from existence or improve them to the point they’re actually usable. Seriously. With all the technology at our disposal, and all the power of the iOS infrastructure, that they can’t even allow renaming the files is absurd. I agree with other reviews. Stop mimicking the hardware limitations. Makes something functional instead of just a gimmick to sell another bit of hardware.

Before I could export my recordings now I cannot. Dear Zoom software developers, I have the iPhone 12 Pro and now I can’t export my recordings to Files or WhatsApp, I have both the Handy Pro and the regular Handy Recorder and they’re both giving me export problems, we need a software update soon. I’ll change my review to 5 stars once it’s fixed!! Also, just like you have an un-do button, you also have a re-do button. I thought the pro version was going to be way better than the regular version but they’re almost identical, I’m disappointed Zoom audio.

Accessibility. I received the Xoom Iq6 x y stereo microphone for Christmas. I was really excited and plugged it into my iPhone 13 mini. As soon as I plugged it in VoiceOver stopped talking so I could not access the functions of the product independently. Also some buttons in the app itself are not labelled properly. Please fix this as I want to be able to use this independently. I am a musician and this will be a great tool once these bugs are ironed out.
