Perfect once you set it up (use online instructions instead of instructions on app). I couldn’t figure out how to setup the app and make my camera upload at first but I looked online and once it was setup it’s worked flawlessly. It’s pretty awesome

Painfully slow. If this worked as advertised it’d be amazing. However, it took over an hour to move 60 photos (RAW). Then it did not sync with my Google Drive nor did it add them to my Mac. I set it up correctly, it just doesn’t work fast enough or reliably enough. For now, I will use my dongle but I really hope they can figure out how to do this correctly.

Works for me.. Haven’t had any issues with the app. Would love to see some options to reduce file size after uploading my RAW images.

Miss my old app. I used to be able to select pictures. Now it’s far more finicky and I had to give up and let it transfer 450 pictures that had already transferred about 440 of them to the app already. Guess it is back to transferring to the card reader for my laptop. Wow the dinosaur is still good for something.

Duplicate photos. This app doesn’t allow you to choose the photos you want to upload so each time it will upload all your photos resulting in duplicate photos. Waste of time, energy, space and battery. Not happy with this at all!

Doesn’t even use my current canon ID. Looks like a mediocre app. I can’t even use my existing canon ID to log in. It seems to want to create a whole new ID and it thinks my address is already in use. That’s correct since I am already logged into my canon account on their website. Usually you migrate users over rather than start a whole new thing. I have managed to make a new account that is sort of connected to my old account. It only knows one of my cameras. There is no connection to any of my other registered products of theirs. Seems like an easy and smart thing to do for the developers so I feel like it is not just a skinned product of someone else.

Bring back the old app, Canon!. This is a nightmare! Why on earth would you not allow us to continue to choose specifically which photos we can transfer over? 1200 photos on my camera, only need about 100- no computer access at the moment- so sure, let me sit here for 8 hours while I wait for all 1200 to load! What an absolutely idiotic creation. I am SO disappointed and now having to look into other camera brands because this is such a colossal waste of time. Also delighted to find out that in wasting hours of my life I’ll never get back, I find out that they have a whopping 30 days before they get wiped off?! You want me to waste my time loading hundreds to even thousands of photos I don’t necessarily need, and then once I FINALLY get them up, they have an expiration date, so I get to do it all over again?!?! I’m sorry to whine to other users who are reading this, but I am FURIOUS about this change and I’m sure you all are, too. Get it together, Canon and actually LISTEN to your customers!

Barely connecting. Everyone I try to connect my camera it takes a really long time to do so and whenever it does connect and I pick my photos It takes like 10 mins just for one picture to transfer and most of the time it just says error and never send them after I waited for so long….

Wouldn’t recommend. Spent time getting this set up and got to the verification by email and I received an email in Chinese! Can’t find any way to change it or update it and now have no idea how to get my pictures where I need them. Very disappointed in this service!

Forced to buy a new camera. Wow. I’ve only had my WiFi camera for about 3 years now, and loved the web features to have them download for my computer. Now this unnecessary new service has cut off my camera when it’s only 1 model behind. What a waste now to have a WiFi camera that I can’t even upload my images anymore to canon gateway or even google drive. Disappointed. There was no reason to 1) create a new service that doesn’t work as smoothly and 2) cut off WiFi enabled cameras for them to be useless now.

Deserves 0 Stars. Have spent an hour trying to sign in and this app takes me in circles. I tried registering a new account with a new email and the app is still taking me in circles. Useless!

Horrible. Hopefully some of these issues will be resolved quickly. Can no longer share photo album links. Try deleting photos, can only do one at a time and you have to scroll through all your newer photos each time you delete one picture. So disappointed, loved the old platform. I bought my canon camera because I loved that I could wirelessly download the pictures directly onto the Canon site. With this horrible “upgrade” it has made that feature unusable.

Wish I could give 0 stars. There was absolutely no reason to force me to give up the old app for this new, very buggy app. I was trying to scroll down and select pictures to download, and I had scrolled down very very far and when I hit download, it said download failed. I had been scrolling for almost 10 minutes looking through pictures. Thanks, Canon

Horrible. Made my expensive camera useless!. I bought the camera because of the ability to transfer wirelessly. Canon decided to change their app to this app that DOES NOT WORK AT ALL and now my camera is useless -and they don’t even have a support contact! I’ve been strictly Canon for years, but I’m switching to Nikon because of this.

Useless. I just downloaded the app to transfer some pictures I took yesterday. All I wanted to do was transfer just those images over to send to my sister, but no. I have to upload ALL my photos to access the 10 I want. You can’t select the photos you want, like you use to be able too, so now I have to upload over 2000 pictures to access the ones I want. Forget that. What’s the point of a WiFi camera when you’re not able to do with it what you want like the old app allowed. Upload what I want, when I wanted it and share how I deem fit. Whoever had the idea of getting rid of the old app for this one, apparently must never use an actual camera and just their phone, because that’s how this app is pretty much set up to run like

Handy but Rather Rudimentary. I must say this app is rather handy. It works quite well to upload from my camera (Powershot SX740hs) as fast as a camera can be expected to upload through Wi-Fi. However the thing that is aggravating, is that the app and the website are quite simple in design, with few options, and rather hard to move and maneuver photos from one place to another or change the location of which cloud storage folder you want them in. You can’t even use simple keyboard controls like shift + select! When trying to work with large amounts of photos, this is EXTREMELY annoying. It’s understandable that they won’t let you upload infinite amount of photos and videos forever, but I wish they would give you a little more long-term storage than 10 GB worth. All in all it’s pretty nice, and I would recommend it to compatible canon users.

recent update must be fixed. literally will not let me do a single thing. Looped to login with canon ID no matter what I press. Used to work fine but now can’t download important photos for Christmas

Update this app please….. It’s a great app but I honestly feel like it’s need an update…missing a lot of features like actually playing before downloading and not deleting the expired videos/photos.

When the app makes you regret using the camera you know it has failed. In retrospect I wish I had just pulled out my iPhone and taking pictures and videos, but I wanted to use my canon EOS are five for the best pictures and video quality and yet now I cannot even Upload or download them properly. This is by far the worst app I have used in the last 10 years. You can also tell by the lack of updates of this app how Canon really doesn’t care about its users.

Bring back the old one.. Loved my camera & the old app transferring all photos to my iPad easily. I have worked this new app for over an hour & am now giving up . I will find another way to transfer photos to my iPad. The transfer method is vital to my use of my Canon camera. Hate this & due to the over 2 week wait for transfer ability & now still cannot do it (my camera is becoming useless). I actually would give it 0 since I can’t use it

WHAT?!. I really thought this app was gonna work for my Canon but it doesn’t do not get this add it’s trash when I’m trying to Connect it to my Canon it kicks me out and I have to sign in again so do not get this app!

Terrible. So first, I like that it transfers directly to google drive. That’s where I put my photos anyways. But I have ZERO CONTROL over which photos ... I switched this on halfway through an upload and it only moved the photos from then on. I want to initiate a re-transfer but you have no controls over this. The resolution is cut in half, and you have no control over changing this. The photos all dump to one giant folder on Drive and, you guessed it, you have no control over this. The old app worked fine. I’m so upset with this new one.

Bring back the old app. After finally getting settled with the old canonconnect app, now HAVING to download this one only for it NOT work is highly frustrating. After I created an ID (which I didn’t even know I needed) it won’t even let me for longer than 10 seconds because it kicks me out? I don’t have an HDMI cord available and so I cannot connect my computer to my camera. So literally I won’t even be able to transfer/download any of my photos. Very frustrating!

So convenient. I switched from Sony and was so glad to see this app. Transferring files has been a pain point. It was easy to set up and the camera is uploading all pictures now. Crazy

Can’t log in. It will not let me log in. I upgraded to a wifi camera for the wifi capabilities and can’t even use them…

Won’t let you connect to Wi-Fi with camera have to go through PC. Won’t let you connect to Wi-Fi with camera have to go through PC. This makes this Camera and and software worthless. Can’t do a dam thing on the fly or out in the field. To me no allowing you to connect to Wi-Fi to view or send pictures is makes this camera almost worthless and they make you buy a special cable. It’s like there trying to keep from sharing your pictures. This what you should expect form a big greedy corporation that just wants to steal from its customers. No customer and service no help. No number to call. Not even a chat bot that can help.

Why Not Videos?. Why can we only transfer photos? And why can we not choose which specific photos to upload? Not too well imo.

Not working. I bought this camera so I could transfer photos over WiFi. The old app was fine. Now the app won’t find my camera for computer or iPhone. Now it’s useless

Awful. Beta version of a product very few people requested. This is not a gopro we aren’t looking for everything to be accesible by phone. I don’t have WiFi all the time and the ports in the camera are malfunctioning and now I have hundreds of inaccessible photos on my SDcard until I can track down a card reader cause this app doesn’t work! Make a driver that allows direct uploads to your computer with a preview mode so we can delete what is unnecessary without uploading everything.

Not for me. I used the original app to cull through my photos after I come back from shooting. I downloaded the app but it required me to connect the camera to my computer for canon utility and create a new account. Just want a cull app. I deleted it and may have to find an alternative.

DONT. DO. IT.. If you just bought a camera, and it tells you to download this app, let me save you the trouble. When you inevitably call Canon To get help, they’re gonna tell you to download another app anyway (Canon Camera Connect), which is much easier. Canon, out this app out of its misery!

Don’t even deserve 1 Star. I just bought this $600 camera and can’t even upload to my phone, macbook or web(cloud). Why do y’all make it so difficult to do everything! This camera will be going back tomorrow, I PROMISE.

Can you add support for OneDrive as a service to store photos?. I love the idea of this app but I use OneDrive to host and store all my photos. Could you add OneDrive support ? That would be great!

Nothing…. It actually does nothing. Loss of time. Should have been paid to download… There is an app that works. It already does this and a whole lot more. It just recently started to work well. Has been out for years. So it might take some time.

Helpful service. This service is valuable to me because it’s the only way to wirelessly share or backup raw files. The one downside is that it’s slow. I often go on trips without a computer, and I’ve always wished I had a way to backup photos on the go. There are very few portable hard drives that work without a computer. Because of the speed I probably wouldn’t back up everything, but could at least backup best images. The auto transfer to google drive worked for me. Past software only sent JPGs which wasn’t helpful to me. Hopefully speed will improve, but this is an important step from Canon!

Waste of time. It took forever to set up. Then once I got it set up, it ran continuously in the background. It was draining my battery life. Even after I uninstalled it, it took 24 hours to stop running.

Worst app I’ve ever downloaded. It’s absolutely crap…. No other way to describe it! You can’t make an ID or use your EXISTING ID it’s mad weird. Waste of time to be honest. I would give it negative stars if I could to be honest

Camera isn’t even an option. My camera isn’t even an option but when I use the other app for viewing my photos it has my current camera.

Stuck in a perpetual loop of register/login. I can’t even get into the app to use it! But from reading the other reviews (which some are over 2 years old) it sounds hellish; how can this be this terrible for this long without any acknowledgement or updates from Canon?They need to bring back the old app and address these issues asap!

Can’t login. I know for a fact my login info with my email and password but yet it says it’s still might be wrong and I don’t want to make a whole nother account. I wish I could login to even use the app as I am in need of it. I love canon

Not user friendly. Counterintuitive and not user friendly at all. After fiddling with this app and my camera, my iPad, and my iPhone for a while, I gave up and simply pulled the flash card out of the camera, plugged it into my USB reader device, and got the photos onto my computer that way. Much faster although it shouldn’t have to be this way.

Get concept, horrible functionality. The concept of this app is amazing, but as far as it goes it’s just a concept. The reason for the one star review is because the app won’t even connect with the camera, the only thing that the app is meant for and it doesn’t do what it’s meant to do. Anyways yeah one star

Terrible. It is too bad there is not a number lower than one, canon deserves it. I cannot get their app on my iPad and I cannot get it on my desktop computer which runs on Windows. Google says they do not have the app. When I can get the photos transferred to another storage area or downloaded to my own hard drive I will never ever use canon again. Best advice, stay away from this app

I mean… it’s okay. I can view my pictures, sure. It’s inconvenient that once you open a file it doesn’t allow you to scroll, you have to keep clicking off the picture to view something else. Wish they would fix that.

Does a specific job.. This app definitely has room to improve however this app is meant to be a way to upload photos to a cloud where they can be accessed from anywhere. This app is NOT just to transfer photos from a camera to phone. If you are trying to just get the photos to your phone use camera connect.

Not in love with is.... I liked when I could select and send my images, not have to download my whole memory card. I also wish this was full screen on my iPad.

Why is this so hard?. I wanted to send my colleagues a 1 minute take from a project. First, I had to upload ALL images and videos on my camera because I’m not allowed to select which images I want upload. This took hours. Then I had to DOWNLOAD every single take because video playback isn’t supported in the app nor on the website and I couldn’t tell which was the take I wanted without rewatching the clips on the camera and trying to match the file names. What a joke.

Can't sign in.. I was really excited when Canon announced this service, but when I downloaded the app, I can't sign in. I'm using my Canon ID, but it says my email or password are wrong. That's impossible, because I can sign into the Canon website fine with the same email/password. The same thing happens when I try to sign in on my computer. Please fix this problem so I can get to use this! I was really hopeful about it!

Horrible… can’t even sign in. The log in process is laborious at best. It seems there is a NEED for a computer to use this app. Why? If I wanted to use this on a computer, I’d have downloaded it to a computer. Without connecting to a pc, it seems to impossible to create an account.

No video. Why does this not allow videos to upload? I’m not one to write reviews but I’m truly so frustrated trying to get a video off of my G7X this is ridiculous.

Refuses to connect to my EOS RP.. All I get on my camera is ‘Waiting to connect’ even though the iPad claims to be connected to the camera’s network. It is time that Canon realise that they do not have the in-house expertise to design apps and they should contract out the work to someone who has. The 1 star rating is overgenerous.

Great app. Very good app to transfer photos from your canon camera. I don’t know if it happens on other camera but my camera will drain a lot of battery.

Please update for ipad too. I understand where canon is moving to. But, please update app for ipad too at least. It is still look ugly to x2 view from iphone app. Otherwise, happy with it compare other camera manufacturer doesnt do this feature.

What a terrible app. Installed it on the iPhone. Create login ID. Then try to log in. A screen pops up telling me to set it up on my PC (which I don’t have) then tells me o register my camera 6D2, which I do. Then it circles around and asks me to log in, read PC setup screen and camera reg. Deleted it. Will continue to use copy direct from SD card to Mac. Even the Canon Connect app isn’t working any more. Canon may make some nice cameras but its apps are terrible.

I don’t have a PC. I have a Canon 6D. I have a cloud Google photos account. I don’t have a PC. This app is therefore useless to me.

Not mobile friendly.. I don’t have a computer, the point of downloading an app is I’m meant to be able to register and connect to my camera on my phone WITHOUT A COMPUTER. Now I have to buy a computer just to access my own photography. 😡😡😡😡😡

Useless. This is the most useless app ever. The previous app camera connect was working just fine. The registration for this app logged me out from downloading images from my own f* camera after I’ve already done the registration months ago. Might as well smash this camera against the wall and buy something else with more user friendly app.

Violation of Sign In with Apple. I was pleased to see Sign In with Apple. I was displeased to see this happen in a web view, outside of the app. I was VERY DISPLEASED to see a form asking for my name and email after passing through the Sign In with Apple. This is a blatant circumvention of the entire point of Sign In with Apple (or any other external service for that matter); and most likely a violation of their terms that will be reported as such.

Canon software: not the sharpest!. Well it probably does the job but when I select the pictures I want to download and press send, I get an error message "you can't select any more" I was not trying, just wanted to send. Please fix this and do some more testing please before releasing software.

Selecting Pictures Not Optional Anymore. I was disappointed to see that what was once a useful app, was no more. Since CANON iMAGE GATEWAY was changed to image.canon, unlike its predecessor, you can no longer easily select the photo of your choice to send into your smartphone. When I click on the app on my camera, it automatically syncs all photos into my smartphone without permission. This loses its convenience in having to transfer the necessary photos to your phone. Therefore, if the developers are reading this, I want to kindly ask them to change back to their previous settings that provides users easy access to options while using their camera. If it doesn’t come back to what it was before, well unfortunately the app would have to be rendered useless then.

What happened??? I use to use this all the time.. Now it’s asking me to download a PC extension when I’ve never done that before and always done it on my phone, which is the whole point of this app… what happened?? This was the only way I could download my photos if I was away from home onto my phone or iPad without an adapter….. wth.

So frustrated. What once was a smooth, wireless image transition for my EOS M50 has now taken me 2 hrs of unsuccessful attempts all to have to connect my camera to my computer just to get one image to my smartphone…why can’t I just continue to use CameraConnect?

Poor app for what it does. Poor app for what you can do. Setup and added my t8i twice , it uploaded the photos to cloud just fine but every time I start up the app on my iPhone it keeps asking to set up a new device Unable to use and will delete it

EOS Rebel T100 not on the list. I would like to add EPS Rebel T100 with this app but this app doesn’t support my camera

Useless. The previous app Image Gateway was perfect . When I try to connect the camera it tell me to SET THE CORRECT DATE AND TIME an I can’t go further then that. I can’t connect my camera with the cloud. Please Canon fix it.

Will Give More Stars. This is obviously beta software that has been released too early. Please do more testing. - slow to load images - cannot connect to services - cannot download images Many things don’t work right now.

If you run a media platform, burn your Canon. For a app from a brand like Canon, I would expect a few more brain cells thrown into into the app

Not very useful. To upload photos from the camera, I need to sync them to the iPhone/iPad photo gallery via USB first, then this App can upload the photos to image.canon. Canon should allow this App to connect the camera directly via USB and upload the photos without requiring going through the iOS photo gallery.

Need iPad version. Works OK, but why a little iPhone sized screen on an iPad in landscape mode even when clicking on photo. Useless.

Does not work. App is frustrating. Will not fonnect to camera except for brief seconds then requires relogin. Thats when it works mostly it does not.

EOS 6D.. Would not except camera, auto or manual at all. But pull pictures from my gallery instead without permission. WiFi connection complete failure, camera working very good as well WiFi. App a waste.

Typical Canon Software. A confusing, overly complicated mess, and I’m not a newbie. It also appears to be the case that a prerequisite for using the software is ownership of the $6500 EOS 1D Mark III. And no iPad version!

TERRIBLE!!!. This app would not connect to my camera, wouldn’t recognize my ID…too much trouble! Some things don’t need fixing, Canon!

This app is more is more trouble than it’s worth. I suggest you pick up your SD card and walk it over to your device. This app won’t help you.

Horrible UX, horrible UI, very slow, very unintuitive. Canon, get your act together! This app shouldn’t be allowed on the App Store! Yes, it’s THAT BAD.

Just don’t. I’ve tried two apps, the online downloads to upload my pictures and I’ve wasted my time. I’ve spent money on a camera so that I can’t even upload my pictures.

Canon app. This is a horrible app for canon, I would let me connect to internet also keeps having me reconnect and re register . Horrible very difficult to use.

Crappy app. I wanted to use this with my new camera, but it doesn’t even have my model (even though they included the QR code for the app with it). Jeepers. Disappointing.

Would be awesome… if it worked reliably. I love the idea behind this. Having all the photos from my EOS R10 auto-uploaded and shared to my Google Drive sounds like it would make my workflows a lot easier. The problem is it just doesn’t work reliably enough to be useful. In the several weeks since I’ve had it set up, I’ve taken over 500 photos, and only 3 have successfully uploaded. There seem to be a couple issues that cause this. First, it only starts uploading when the camera is in range if your home wifi AND turned on. It can’t connect when the power switch is off like the Canon Camera Connect app can. So if you’re shooting anywhere away from home, you’ll have to manually power on the camera and open the auto-upload settings in order to make sure the “automatic” upload feature is actually doing anything. And that’s where the second problem comes in: probably 2 out of every 3 photos it attempts to auto-upload will fail for no apparent reason, and when this happens it’ll just stop the auto-upload process entirely until after a power cycle. So unless you’re okay with turning on your camera again every time you get home from a shoot and letting it run down the battery while you carefully monitor its slow progress and turn it off and on again every 5 minutes or so, this probably won’t work for you. I’d recommend using Canon’s other app, Camera Connect, instead. It’s a bit more of a manual process (but then so is this), and requires a connected smartphone, but it works much more reliably and doesn’t require you to be in range of your home wifi. Plus, if you really want your photos auto-uploaded to a cloud storage account of some sort, there’s other apps available that can do that from your phone’s camera roll after you’ve pulled the photos off your camera.

Useless. My camera came with a QR code to download this app, but my camera isn’t listed when I try to set it up.

No bueno. Not even working or connecting, just another fail app that’s not ready to publish

Doesn’t work. Tried dozens of times and won’t scan the QR code. Endless error/login loop.

Worst App Ever!. It will not let me sign in with my existing Canon account. It continues to take me through the same setup process and never actually logs in.

Add iCloud Drive support!. Please add iCloud Drive support!

Bring Back Old App. This new app is useless and hard to use. It won’t connect, the app is difficult to maneuver, and it made me sign in repeatedly.

Can't find my camera model. I signed in and looking for the Canon EOS 2000D but I can't find it. I would appreciate it if you can add all the models from canon.

Help me please. I can’t register my camera to the app. I don’t see my camera option under the listing what do I do?
