A favorite, but could we adjust the speed?. Love this game, but the AI’s turns go so fast that I don’t even catch what they are buying. Also, I sometimes hit the wrong bottom and spoil because I’m viewing the discard pile. It should not be possible to push nor end planting when the display is on your discard or the AI’s board.

Great play. It faithfully recreates the experience even down to simulating cards going into sleeves which is a nice touch for something that could have taken an easier way. It also takes all the adding and mana tracking away. The only downside is the game is over way too soon.

Better than this game deserves.. Aside from no asynchronous play, is this is a very well-made app. However, the game is not good. I wanted to like it, I gave it multiple chances, but alas. It has a 2 major flaws: spoiling feels really bad and sometimes you have to push because otherwise you do nothing on your turn. The other more serious flaw is that for all the cool effects and mechanics, but this is a race to the bottom. You might think the goal is to build up to get level three cards and the level 2 veils. It is not. The rewards aren’t worth it both on face and the time it takes to cycle through your deck. Synergies are difficult to build because you both need to manage the money and happen to have that exact card drawn when you do, then hope nobody bought it first. I’ve checked, and winning this game doesn’t depend upon on engine building; just slam victory points and exhaust the pool. The best way to play the game is to ignore most of its strategic avenues. Oh, and the game tier 1 and basic upgrades are hyper limited and starve you for resources. Imagine if dominion had only 6-7 silvers. You win this game by ignoring almost all growth.

Good game, worth the price.. Having played the physical game, this is a great translation. In addition to the pass and play I would like to see an asynchronous mode for multiplayer. I haven’t been able to get a multiplay game in yet and it’s frustrating.

Great game, but it crashes all the time. I absolutely love this game. I own a bunch of the actual cards, and was ecstatic to see the app. Only problem is that the game crashes constantly. I’m playing on an iPad Air, and it the crashes between turns a lot. Especially right before end game scoring. Nothing is more annoying than having to reload the game right at the end. I tried playing it on my phone, but the writing is too small for my old eyes. Would give it the full 5* treatment if the crashing issues were fixed. Oh, and I’d love to see more expansions!

Does not follow the rules. On nearly all accounts, this is a great adaptation and a great app. The biggest problem I have is it does not respect the rules for the planting phase. The rules do not state that you are required to push until you have 3 decay symbols, but this is what the app will do automatically without your input and there is no way to disable it. Most of the time, this is what you want to do, but not always. If you have some cards in your deck with multiple decay symbols and you already have two visible, the app will force you to spoil. Some cards in the Vale of the Wild, namely Wolf Rider and Beastbrother Hunter, give you mana or VP tokens the fewer cards you have in your field. If this is the first card in your field, it could be a good decision to stop immediately, even if you have no decay symbols present, but the app doesn’t give you that option. This happened in my last game and was very frustrating. These aren’t rare edge cases; some cards and strategies around them are much weaker in the app than they are in the real game.

Good. Avoided buying this game as collection was getting too big but having the app let me get this out of my system. Game is amazing however the difficulty level of the AI just seems to rig the push your luck of the opponents. Otherwise great game.

Where’s the help?. I’ve updated my 3-star rating based on zarro online help for odd questions to a 5. I figured out the issue on my own - or at least don’t think it’s as bad as I thought. And while support on this app is still really lacking (esp given the quality of what they wrote) the game is gorgeous, fun, and stable enough to deserve 5 stars compared to what else is out there. I just hope they finally get a blog, faq, or *SOMETHING* online for us w questions where the manual and tutorials fail

Great game with bugs that need fixing.. This game is a lot of fun when it works correctly. However, as I and my wife have been adding expansion packs, it seems more and more bugs are present in the game. Had to restart several times, and sometimes vale cards do not work properly. Would love to see an update with bugs fixed. If working properly, this is easily a five star game. Lots of fun!

Great Game!. This is a very good and accurate representation of the board game. It plays quickly and is fun.

Pretty Good. Best thing is the presentation and the price. 6 bucks for base game and 3 expansions. The A.I. on hard seems rigged. I’ve played this game a lot and it crushes me. Overall happy with the purchase.

Love the app, miss updates and other expansions. iPad is my favorite implementation of MV. I really wish they’d bring the additional 3 expansions to digital.

Addictive gameplay but needs a little love.. The Good: First, the gameplay is incredible addictive and they did a great job on the graphics. The tutorial gives a good rundown of the rules. The Bad: 1. You can’t see your deck composition. The memory component is too much here for what cards you upgraded, etc. and this is a game where if you bust once or twice, you may as well quit and save yourself 20 minutes. 2. The discard screen blocks important information, like what’s available to purchase. 3. The back button is severely limited. Sometimes, even though it’s still your turn, you may not go back. 4. I often forget that it’s the planting phase and try to drag cards down. I suggest creating a stronger focus on the action at hand and getting rid of ditch the glow on purchasable cards. 5. Eats my battery like crazy. Honestly, I may have to get the Steam version because it’s going to kill my iPad. 6. It wasn’t immediately clear to me that I could only purchase 2 cards. Overall, great game but many of the above are surprising given that they should have been caught in testing.

Great Game, Online Multiplayer Needs Work. Fantastic game. Multiplayer is a weak spot... 1) There are few to no available multiplayer matches. Matching finding needs to be retooled. 2) Multiplayer kicks you off online games if you close the app or are idle for too long even with turn time set to off. You should be able to pick up and play an online game with a friend whenever you want... as it stands you have to keep the app open and play it until completion without doing anything else. Matches should be able to be played over days or weeks if needed and saved on a cloud server. 3) Friends list. Needs to happen to challenge friends directly to matches. 4) Multiplayer is buggy and will freeze, kick a player out or just not synch up between players. Has ruined many a game for my wife and I. Overall great game (I own the table top version as well). Online Multiplayer needs a lot more work to be viable. Thanks!

Love the game. I love the card game and now having a digital copy is great to play with friends during quarantine!

Board Game Owner Approval. I own the card game and most of the expansions. Bought this due to covid-19 social distancing. Checks all the boxes and has online play. [REVISED] Bought for online play. Missing a way to invite users to games. No notifications about turns. Disconnects when I switch apps. Creating a game timed out to quickly (should not time out). Ticket to ride is a great model of what is needed.

Good Game. Great game. Having a lot of fun with it. Four stars only because it will randomly close down. I’ve played probably twelve games and it’s happened twice. Saved my progress though and hopped right back in. AI so far has been a challenge which is always a perk. Highly recommend.

Game locked up. Now whenever I start the app, it asks if I want to load my saved game, when I say yes the app glitches and closes. Until this is solved I refuse to play the game, poor quality coding. I do like the board game though.

Fun iteration. Would be great if they updated for play on Apple TV as well as iPhone/ipad. Seems unfair to need a pc or Nintendo switch to play on your television but that’s just because I want my cake and to eat it too when I can’t play my physical copy

Good but…. The audio doesn’t work when I’m playing. I have all settings enabling it and still nothing. I want to hear it….

Very fun game. My friend has this in table top version and invariably demolishes me when we play. I downloaded this to improve my real life game. I like the game play, the art, and the animations. Even the sound effects are cute. Dawnsinger’s song makes me feel accomplished every time I buy her. The online option is fun, but I wish there were a ranking system for players. I don’t mind playing any skill level, but every match I play, my opponent quits, with the exception of my real life friends when we set up a match. I do appreciate that they stick an AI in the quitters place, but still annoying. Also, there are not often online games available, people just have not caught on to the fun. Thanks for a fun and reasonably priced ap. Update: recently I was having some glitches. I deleted the app and downloaded it again. I thought the expansions were lost and Imwas sad. Then I found a setting tab that said restore purchases and they are back. Seems to be working well. I still love this game. I play nearly every day. I only wish there were more people playing online.

Fun game. Love the expansions. Add more expansions and I will buy them. Online Multiplayer works but is a little unstable. If a player drops it gets taken over by AI. That’s good but when they come back they can’t re-join. It’s hard to finish a game without someone eventually dropping.

Near perfect game with only synchronous play. This game has got to be one of the cooler deck builders in the past few years. My friend and I *love* the deck building mechanic where you can craft semi-custom cards with a different top, middle, and bottom card section. Highly recommended! My only complaint against the game is a lack of asynchronous multiplayer: both my friend and I have to be sitting down and logged in at the same time to play. Deck builders make a perfect async multiplayer game in most cases, and I’m not sure why they don’t have the ability to do that here though. This would be a 5-star staple in my game collection if they add some way to play our turns throughout the day instead of synchronously. If the devs read these reviews: please add this kind of multiplayer ability! Otherwise, still an amazing game. Thanks for releasing this devs!

5-star game, bad networking. This needs a local multipeer connectivity-based Apple TV app. Sitting right next to my wife, playing, the networking layer is unstable enough to sometimes get us into an inescapable state where it’s nobody’s turn.

Terrific adaptation of a great game. Love it! So glad I purchased this. Translates the spectacular card game perfectly. I would recommend it to any fan of light-to-medium card games like Magic: The Gathering, Hearthstone, or similar games. I have two small complaints: 1. The writing is a bit small on my iPhone Pro Max. 2. On ONE level above Easy the AI tends to swoop in and score ten or fifteen points on its last round for the win a LOT. But maybe I just need to git gud.

No asynchronous multi. App seems to work well , but as soon as we bounce out of an online game with friends, the game is lost with no way to get it back Who wants to sit and play for 45 minutes straight just to finish the game? With asynch this would be 5 stars

Great App, but Limited.... One thing I love, it’s digital board games and considering the saved time in shuffling, love Deck-Builders. Beyond being a functional app, this one has great production values. The core game is enjoyable and you get the first expansion for free. Fact is, there’s very little I can complain about. But there are things... The single player is sparse, forcing you to face down AI opponents with selectable difficulty and this is terrific. Multiplayer is another ding as there are no Pass and Play options. This is a major feature missing for my purposes since the wife and I often play app games against one another during longer waits. Without this feature, this game will get significantly limited play. Which is such a shame.

App won’t open.... I downloaded the app last night and played a game of it. It’s fantastic! Now the app won’t open :( tried it on my iPad and it consistently crashes right towards the end of my game. Great game, horrible app.

Great game as long as you don’t want to play online multiplayer. This game is gorgeous. As long as you want to play just single player. If you switch to multiplayer online player it’s very frustrating. Often drops a player and doesn’t allow rejoining

Fun, good UI, faithful port, but battery killer. Having only played Mystic a few times, I bought the app on a lark, and I'm pleased. For six bucks, the game looks good, plays well (though I wish the opponent turns were a bit faster), and is perfect for my commute. Only complaint is the severe battery drain (even with the "battery saver" setting on).

Can’t wait for more expansions!. Absolutely love it. Great tutorials. Beautiful, clean detailed design. Elegant playing interface. Makes me want to buy the real card decks, but I know I would never have anyone to play with. Can’t wait for more expansion packs.❤️

Multiplayer is broken. I got this game specifically because the reviews said it had a robust multiplayer mode. That is not the case. Creating private games looks like it’ll work, but your friends can’t join. There’s no way to make a custom ID. It kicks you out of multiplayer games.

Not asynchronous/ doesn’t work with 1st gen iPad Air. The app is slick and I enjoy the interface but I have yet to complete more than a game or 2 when playing multiplayer online. I’m using a first generation iPad Air. All in all, not worth my money.

It’s okay, but…. I just find the help component of understanding the cards and strategy to be lacking. It would be helpful to have a little clarity on the game. Can be interesting, but really unable to completely figure out how to utilize cards appropriately.

Great game, good port, crashes all the time, buggy. I am super sad to give such a low rating as this is a good port of a great game, but (as others have mentioned) this game always crashes right at the end. Also, if you close the app there appears to be no way to recover your game progress (unless this is a bug we are experiencing)Please fix and easy 5 stars For devs- 5th gen iPad, Classic game, 4 players, 2 easy AI, 2 human players (blue and yellow). Game freezes when the game hits last turn (usually 19th turn) and then calculates score Edit- Game freezes in any pass and play game we play. We have not been able to complete a single game (after 15 or so attempts).... This is after the latest update so please be aware of this issue if you are playing pass and play on an iPad

Good!. Have the tabletop game as well. I play this so I can solo more easily (no setup or cleanup time). One or two little issues with specific cards, but a very good conversion to digital play nonetheless. Very happy.

Excellent Game!. An excellent rendition of the card crafting game I have grown to love. A friend of mine introduced me to Mystic Vale, and now it is one of my favorite games, and said friend and I play it whenever I visit. Easy to play, yet lots of depth. When can we expect to see more expansions?

Amazing art, but bad UI. Faithful adaptation of the card game with a sprinkle of sound effects and minor animation. Maybe it’s better on an iPad, but there isn’t enough space on an iphone screen to view all of the information.

Digital Beats Physical. Excellent representation of the game. Very handy that your score and bonuses are all kept track for you, makes an otherwise unruly game quite simple to keep track of. My only complaint is that when you have an opportunity to discard a card from your field, there’s no opportunity to browse your field to see if it is truly worthwhile.

Great game!. We love the physical game, and are very excited by the quality of the digital port to mobile. We thought there might be a couple issues, but it turns out we had misinterpreted the rules! Only one complaint. It’s a shame when a digital board game port doesn’t include asynchronous multiplayer. We want to be able to take a turn (say on a coffee break), then come back a couple hours later to the same game for the next turn. Otherwise, great game, and we’ve been recommending it to all our friends!

Relaxing and engaging. This game is such a pleasure to play. Although it may seem daunting at first, it’s easy to learn with plenty of depth. The AI seems to play at a great level and the graphics are gorgeous. I will be playing this for a long time and plan on buying all the expansions. I really hope they address the few issues listed below and release even more expansions. Pros: 1. Amazing art direction (would love to have an option to always have the cards animate instead of only when it’s hovered over) 2. Easy to learn, hard to master 3. Great AI (I always love a challenge and appreciate when devs take the time to program competent AI’s) 4. Unique deck building gameplay 5. First expansion included for free Cons: 1. Cannot lock camera onto middle overview position while scrolling through and buying cards (I really want to play with a zoomed out camera on my iPad to utilize the bigger screen space) 2. Crashes in extended gameplay sessions (~1.5 hours with 3rd gen iPad Air. Memory leak? Game does do autosaves though) 3. Cannot view deck composition (maybe intentional? You can see the discard pile and calculate. But if that’s the case, you might as well just let players see what’s left in the deck... I don’t particularly find digging through the discard pile to be fun) Even with these cons, this is definitely a recommended buy. I’m happy to have discovered it.

Amazing Digital Representation!. This is a great card game unlike any other. It’s sort of a deck-building game, but instead of building your deck with new cards, you’re enhancing the cards in your deck. It’s a card-building game and it’s lots of fun to play. The tutorial is well designed to help you understand quickly. It’s not complicated, but it’ll take you a couple of tries to get used to it. There is a physical version of the game, and this represents it well managing the scores and the rules very nicely. I highly recommend this game if you like deck-builders and are interested in trying something a little different.

Great game with a couple things to fix. I’ll start off by saying that this game is fantastic. It’s fun and adds a lot to the deckbuilding game archetype. I got the game for my iPad and love it; however, on my iPhone, the game crashes constantly, making it nearly unplayable. Furthermore, I bought the expansion pack on my iPad, but to use the collection, I need to rebuy it on my iPhone, which seems silly since it’s all under the same Game Center account. The game would be perfect if I could get my collection on both devices and it didn’t crash all the time on the iPhone. I look forward to future expansions on the game!

It’s good, but kind of annoying.. I would give this game 5 stars, but there is one thing that kind of annoys me, it’s the fact that the hard mode computer seems to ALWAYS have the perfect turn. It doesn’t make the game hard it just makes it annoying to play against.

Loved the app so much that I purchased the physical card game. This is the game I play the most on my iPhone. It is complex, you gotta think about how you open the game and what tactic you will emphasize : will you try to mitigate spoiled cards? Will you try to put as many cards on the field as possible? Or one of many other ways to strategize? Great game.

Addictive but hard on eyes. I just learned this game and then found it was available to play offline on my iPad. So happy. Loving it. My only complaint is there is so much to see that the numbers and icons are small and I do find myself squinting often.

Fantastic. Highly recommended! This is such an incredible table top game and the electronic verse is very well done. Thank you!

Very fun!. Update- I realized I was using an amulet that forces me to push every turn. When I first played this game I liked it so much I bought all expansions. But there seems to be a bug where several times per game when it gets to my turn the on-deck card automatically pushes and causes me to often automatically spoil. This is very frustrating when it happens late in a close game. Not sure if I’m missing something or if it’s a bug in one of the expansions

Outstanding digital version of my favorite game. I own everything for the physical Mystic Vale game...all the promos, of the expansions, the game mat, etc. It is my favorite game. I get so immersed in it when playing. This is a great digital version of the game. Having already known how to play MV, I just picked up and started playing without a learning curve. I hope you release content for some of the other expansions. I would love to see Leaders introduced. I am actually playing the digital version as practice to hone my skills when playing with friends with my physical copy. Thank You!

Good port of a great tabletop game. I have always loved the physical version of this game so I was really pleased to find that they did such a good job porting it to digital. Great value for the price and I look forward to seeing some of the expansions in the future.

Great Game. This is a fantastic take on a deck builder and will be well worth a purchase when the developer fixes it so it’s no crashing out so regularly. 1v1 AI is about as stable as it gets but 3 AI crashes every second round.

Unclear!. Even by going through the tutorial twice, I still don’t know how to play. Too complicated. The GUI could have been better too.

Exceeded expectations. Really impressed with this. The physical game always looked great, thrilled to see the devs made the UI on par with it. This dazzles. The card animations were a bonus surprise. The touch controls are really responsive, certainly one of the better implementations I've come across for tabletop ports. Looking forward to seeing more expansions in time.

Poor UX. First online play with friends is simply impossible. You need to leave the lobby open, attempt to spell it wrote worth a keyboard that doesn't overlay properly and then when you do get connected the server errors out and disastrous the game. Simply unfathomable this passed game center testing. In game layout is poor a much better approach could be taken epithelial the screen realestate. Very unhappy I can't play with my friends, very disappointed.

Version 4.0.0 ruin of the game. My wife and I have long loved the original physical version of the Mystic Vale game, and have been enjoying this iPad version for the last year, including earlier today. We’ve shared our positive reviews of the digital version of this game widely, and have encouraged many to purchase it as well. However, when we settled in this evening to play a game before bed, we had to deal with the latest updates for version 4.0.0, and found the new UI so unplayable that we abandoned the game. We’re unlikely to go back to it until these unbearable problems are fixed. The primary issue is the forced zoom of the row whenever you click on the vale or enhancement cards(e.g. to slide the row back-and-forth and see what’s available). Neither of us ever use the row zoom feature, and being forced to row zoom makes it impossible to see the whole row, let alone the whole field, making it very difficult to easily take in the current state of the game and strategize for your next move. Secondarily, the shading added to the “active“ card is both pointless and distracting. Knowing which card you touched last has no effect in the game and doesn’t serve any purpose other than to make the card harder to read. Why this “feature“ was added as a mystery to us, but it really needs to go away. If these problems are fixed either by reverting them or by providing an option to turn these “features” off, I’ll happily bump my review back up to the five star rating that this game otherwise deserves. In the meantime, we‘ll just use the physical game, or play something else. If these problems remain unfixed, I cannot see us trusting Nomad Games in the future not to arbitrarily mess up a good thing.

No pass and play?. Was hoping to be able to play offline pass and play like star realms and ascension. Seems good otherwise. Fingers crossed for an update.

Amazing!. Was not familiar with this game but I love board/card games and grabbed this one. Not only is it incredibly fun, has a great nature theme, really interesting and multi-layered card strategies, but its beautiful to look at and amazingly polished. Fantastic job! There really is nothing negative I could say, but If I could make a suggestion (mainly because I play offline) would be a games played win/loss tracker. Really thats just more icing on an already very delicious cake! Edit: few more observations. Theres a card ( cant remember the name) but it lets you activate it if you were to spoil...but It always ends up spoiling anyway! Card glitch? Also, im always playing as Lightbringers. It would be interesting somehow if each side had some kind of strength/ weakness and therfore a reason to pick other sides? Still an awesome game, bought the expansion, great stuff!

French. French version it’s possible for you????

An excellent Dominion replacement. Full disclosure: we own every set of Dominion expansions ever produced and most of the promo cards as well. That being said, it’s nice to have an on-the-go competitive CCG, and now that we’ve discovered Mystic Vale, this one might be it. I confess, it’s hard to imagine how this “card modification” mechanic translates out into cardboard, but I’m thinking we might have to also buy it just to see. Impressive that the AI can easily beat me at medium difficulty without cheating (at least not visibly) and based on the excellent game mechanics, I’m about to buy all the expansions after getting done writing this review. I like how they’ve exchanged the (critical) card trashing mechanic in Dominion with the card modification one, and I like the “push your luck” Blackjack mechanic to risk drawing extra cards. Until the current owners of the Dominion CCG intellectual property figure out how to re-introduce it into the mobile space, anyone looking for that kind of fix can look here.

Fantastic!. This game is great in person, and great in this app! Thank you!

Keeps crashing mid game.. If it didn’t crash every single time, it would be a 5 star.

Great game!. This is an interesting and fun game, and the app looks awesome and it plays perfectly. No complaints.

Cool concept!. Never played the board game but I love the concept. The art is gorgeous and the music sets just the right mood. All around well-polished game. Keep up the good work

Awesome game. Remember that the game automatically draws for you. You just pick which card to buy. But this is a very fun game.

Restore purchase button ? Please fix. Where is the restore purchase button? Good game but i reinstalled the game and fear to tap the purchase buttons again as i may be charged twice for the in app purchase

Great Game but Touchy. Amazing game for the cost, but there are moments where the server boots me for no reason.

Love this app. I love the board game and highly recommend the app. Please make all the expansions!!

Crashes incessantly. Running an iPad Air 2 with 8GB memory remaining. Crashes about every second turn. Since this device can run graphically heavy shooters like PUBG, I have to deduce that the app is the issue

My Favorite Game!. I was delighted to stumble across my favorite deck building card game for the iPad. Does not disappoint.

Great translation from cardboard to digital. This is a good game app. Very well done. Looking forward to more expansions.

Update on 03-05-2020. This update changed the UI for the worst. The UI now zooms in when you look across cards, meaning you can no longer see and select cards from a single static view. This is a hassle that slows down play. You now also have to click twice on vales to buy them (once to select, once to purchase). The developer at least removed in the 03-13-2020 update the highlighting that had been added on 03-05-2020.

Crash, crash, crash. On my iPhone 6 it crashed 9 times before I got through the first game. Great game, unplayable with all the crashes.

Glitchy. It’s spoiling constantly without me doing anything

Unstable on iPad Air. After several updates still can not complete a full game without it crashing on an iPad Air.

FANTASTIC, with some room for improvement. First of all, I love this board game - it’s beautiful and engaging and changes enough from game to game to keep it fresh and make you adapt your strategy. (There is an element of luck and every once in a while it seems like every turn doesn’t go your way, but mostly the luck keeps it interesting.) And I love this digital adaptation of the game - it’s great to play with friends (with or without additional AI players, which are quite good) or alone. All of the above is still true, and being able to play digitally makes games a lot faster (no shuffling), they also keep track of your ‘magic’ (I forgot what the vale symbols are really called) each turn and track everyone’s VP through the game. Now when my husband and I play MV, we typically go to our tablets instead of pulling out the board game. There are some small things I’d like to see improvements in: 1. Undoing - a. sometimes I tap to move into planting when I meant to push, and this can’t be undone, but it should be able to be (obviously not the other direction though) b. you can only undo the one most recent purchase during planting, but I think you should be able to undo any/all planting moves while you’re still in the planting phase 2. Discarding - when you get to discard (ie with Deadwood Harvester, etc), you can’t see what’s available to draw, how many cards are in your deck, etc. The discard pop-up should be able to be moved or/and minimized so you can see the rest of the game before you make your decision. 3. AI last turn strategy - overall the AI’s are great, although even on difficult they sometimes make suspect moves (like taking if a fertile soil instead of a seedling in the early game or putting a dreadcoil cobra on a blank card instead of one with a lifebringer seed or a seedling), they’re still very competitive. The thing that bothers me is that they have no final turn strategy - whether you can tell from the VP remaining and the number of VP in everyone’s field for the round, or because their turn will claim all of the remaining VP, or an earlier player has triggered the final round, the AI will not buy cards to maximize VP but will continue to buy cards according to an ongoing game strategy (ie buying a lifebringer seed instead of a hawk). 4. Multiplayer time-out - there should be a way to pause a multiplayer game. 5. Multiplayer Colors/Tribes - in multiplayer, players or the room host should be able to select their color. (Fortunately they’re always assigned in the same order, so you can control the order you enter the room, as long as people are happy with blue and red.) Anyway, my “room for improvement” wishlist would make the game even better, but I still love it (and play it too much) as it is.

great game, latest update hangs. now the app hangs whenever i try to use wafarer portal (the one that moves advancements from one card to another)

Great game, but.... Asynchronous multiplayer would make it much, much better.

Another stacked deck game. Tried of lazy programmers using a stacked deck as a means of setting difficulty levels

Good game, but.... Really enjoy playing the game, but I can’t get through once without it crashing. Crashes several times per game. Tried un/reinstalling, hard rebooting (iPad mini 2), still crashes multiple times per game. Frustrating.

Please add Pass and Play. The app looks slick, but needs pass and play. All the mobile devices in my house use the same iOS account. So, it is impossible to play with my wife.

My favorite game for iOS. Add more expansions. Love this game

Brilliant strategic fun!. I love how this game rewards deep thinking about deck-building strategy and tactics. It’s kind of like Magic: The Gathering, but non-violent and eco-conscious: instead of playing as sorcerers attacking each other, you play as clans of druids healing a cursed land. It’s also very different from Magic: The Gathering. Mystic Vale is competitive solitaire. You and your opponents draw from common decks of cards and you compete to get the most points, but otherwise you’re doing your own thing. Also, everyone starts each game with identical decks. It’s not about owning the best cards. You build your deck up during the game, then start fresh next time. Part of the fun is adding cool cards (e.g., Peacekeeper Druid, Moon Wolf) to your deck and combining them to enhance your deck’s power. Part of the fun is doing that strategically: it’s about which cards you combine and how your deck functions as a whole, not just about taking the best cards you can afford this turn. Then there’s an extra layer of depth about the tactical decision each turn of how much to push more cards into your “field” (i.e., hand). If all goes well, you get more mana to spend this turn. If you push too much “decay” into your hand, you “spoil” and lose your turn. Here’s where it pays to keep close track of what’s in your deck and your discard pile so as to calculate the risk and reward of pushing. I read a review that said the app doesn’t follow the rules about decay and its opposite, “growth.” At first I thought so too, but then I realized that I was just confused by how the app displayed the counts of decay and growth. Once I learned to understand those displays that do some of the card-counting work for you, and to keep proper track of the amount of decay in my deck, I became expert at calculating the odds of pushing and took my game to the next level. The AI opponents have hard and easy levels, and you can learn a lot by watching the AI play at a hard level. You just have to change a setting in the app so that the current player’s hand is displayed at all times. Except for being sometimes confusing (those counts of decay and growth, and the timing of points scored by certain cards), the app is very well-done, with beautiful artwork, enjoyable music, and smooth gameplay. Mystic Vale is one of my favorite games ever!

Great implementation, needs pass-n-play. One of my wife's favorite games. The iOS version is great. The only thing missing is pass-and-play multiplayer. Other than that, it's right next to Star Realms as my go-to time-killer game. 2019-07-25 They added pass-n-play, now they have to make it work. The clan names are jumbled and duplicated, and the end-game scoring hangs. 2019-08-28 Pass-n-play end game scoring still hangs.

Great game. Can’t wait to play the real version

Well Done. I love this card game and this is a great app implementation!

Great port of a great game. Would I rather play at a table with the real game, Yes. However this is a great port of a great game. Also a great deal.

Please wait! Mystic Vale game comments loading...
