worked at first then didn't. after initial installation worked several times in the morning - then nothing in the evening - deleted the app and sign-in still looks for it !! 😂 Not worth the bother for me to trouble-shoot with such a blatant fail.

TDAmeritrade security is sub standard. This app is no exception.. You can enable two factor authentication all you want, but all an attacker has to do choose not to use it and instead answer some security questions. So if two factor authentication is optional for an attacker, why bother using it? This app continues this useless security theater by not popping up notifications when a request to log in is made. Do not only do attackers have the option to skip two factor authentication, even if they are stupid enough to try and use it then I won’t be notified that an attempt is being made. TDAmeritrade, why do you even bother spending money writing apps that have no purpose? I have written to the company more than once about this situation only to get back the standard “we take your concerns seriously” email. Either the team in charge of security is incompetent or they have no authority and are being overruled by the marketing department who have no expertise in this area.

TDAmeritrade needs to implement token based 2FA. TDAmeritrade is using SIM based 2FA which is vulnerable to SIM swaps which happen all the time. They need to allow token based authentication to prevent this. With SIM based 2FA you are at the mercy of the competence of the employees at your wireless carrier for your security!

Notifications stopped working ISO 15. I have been using this for about a month and a half. I use the Thinkorswim mobile app. Prior to upgrading to IOS 15 when I logged into Thinkorswim I would get a notification pop up from the Authenticator app that I could approve access. Since the upgrade the notifications have stopped. I now have to open the Authenticator app manually to approve the access. All the notification options are still on in the Authenticator app but no notifications are happening. Please fix this.

Works, but more options needed. Needs ability to add more than one user account and could benefit from more useful instructions and help on the screens. Keep working on it!

Concerned about infrequent updates. The app hasn’t been updated in 10 months, which is never a good sign as your other apps are updated frequently. I also suspect this form of second step authentication will be annoying. Every company has their own. No one wants 500 Authenticator apps on their phone. That being said, no one is forced to get this app and it’s not required to be a customer. I just hope the app developer sees this so they are aware that some people look at update frequency to see how much an institution cares about its product. Also, the more distance the last update is, the more likely the app isn’t really being supported and is likely on its way to obsolescence...without the warning. Please update more frequently. It sends a message to those of us who have been used iPhone apps since they came to fruition. A never updated app usually means the creators made enough money and moved to developing other apps. Wont happen here because you are a mammoth company. I do really like TD.

Simply quit working today.. For some reason between 4:30 and 6:30 am MST my app simply quit working and locked my phone out of TOS. Support was great but finally had to go back to text authentication. Anyone else have this problem?

Useless app. I would give it zero stars to end this rubbish app. Automatically disabled my device without any prompt or warning. I tried to log in & it says “device is not registered”. Had to make a phone call to authenticate myself again & then they will disable the problematic device. Then they will enable it again… only for the same thing to happen 2 days later… Paid for another phone call to rinse & repeat the same steps… finally told them to fuhgeddaboutit… I’m done with this authenticator app.

Crap. The most value a Product Owner, Product Director or Project Manager can add to a Product is to NOT build in a crappy feature. First Google Authenticator could have and should have been used. Second people need to have multi-factor authentication and it needs to be reliable - this app isn’t reliable and has caused me to not be able to log in at least 2 dozen times in 2 days. Worse, using a text to get a 2FA code fails.

What now?. Growing weary of having to reinstall this, to make it work. Fix it. Been years now.

2 thumbs up. This is good though only using it for an hour. It set right up for think-or-swim desktop standalone PROGRAM app. I will have to delete trusted device cookies (TD website only cookies) for browser before it’ll work there. And then it’ll initialize with full security and app functionality. Call-in customer service was very helpful.

Needs Apple Watch Support. Needs Apple Watch Support, and the push notifications need to be actionable (if they don’t already), so I can approve or deny without first having to open the app, like Microsoft Authenticator and many others. Graphics cleanup would be a nice touch well, make it fit in with your other main apps a bit better.
