Selphy print driver. This works exactly as I expected it to. Other reviewers have complained that you can’t edit photos with it as they seem to be under the false assumption that this app is a photo editing tool. It is basically a printer driver and allows you to send photos from your phone/tablet wirelessly to your Selphy printer, much in the same way you would send a Word document to an office printer. It does allow you to print multiple images to a page in various layouts, but if you want to crop or do color correction that you must do in a photo editor.

Version 2.2.0 doesn’t display photos for selection. I just upgraded to the 2.2.0 version and my photo album does not display photos to select to print. I can access my Recents, but nothing shows up! If I can’t select photos, I can’t print anything. 🙄

Can’t use photo. Sometimes can use photo and sometimes cannot, very annoying! Don’t even know why this app exists, why can’t they just put this in the SELPHY app???

This App Doesn't Work. How do you sell a printer and the app do not work to print the photos!!!! This is insane. I have a Iphone XR, I went into the app to select photos and no photos is coming up for me to print. Fix this ASAP the printer is useless if you cant print. I have other photo printer and by far this is the worse app.

So many features lacking. It’s amazing how many features other Canon apps have that this is lacking. I LOVE the app for the Canon cameras - it’s the 2nd biggest reason I’ve stayed with Canon, just after the color. But the printer app is awful. You can’t send to it from other apps, including photos. You can’t scrub through photos without closing. You can’t zoom in to see a slightly closer image without zooming in to 1. The options for photo editing are pathetic- and split between two different areas, for some reason. I’ll keep using it, because I LOVE being able to print a photo 30 seconds after taking it, but this app needs some love.

Very soft prints compared to Canon Print app. Side by side comparison prints between this app and the Canon Print app, Selphy app for some reason is no where near as sharp print using the same settings and it has huge connection issues. Just use the Canon Print app.

Works when it wants to with my Selphy Square. This square is practically new. Barely ever used it a handful of times.

Trash. For the life of me, I cannot get more than one picture selected. It says “Cannot use this photo.” ??? Is it something I’m missing?

Such a stupid app. It won’t let me upload ANY PICTURE. Whether I took with my phone or I took with my Nikon and downloaded to my phone. I CANT PRINT ANYTHING! That’s the whole point of me spending $150 for the dang thing!

Works Great.. When It Works.. Works seamlessly when it is functioning, but it freezes often and you have to swipe out of the app to try again. You also have to use your “recents” album, because if you click any of the other albums in your camera roll, it shows a blank screen and the app freezes.

Awesome but ... Well it is awesome indeed for both the app and the printer. Yet it is a bit primary app that can easily developed into much better version full of useful features

July 2021 update removed 6photo templates. Up to the most recent update was able to print 6photo collages now it is 4 or 8. Please give back the option for 6

Easy to learn. Great results. :D. This app goes with a small printer. The app works great and is super easy to learn to use. The printer is sturdy and portable. Works greatly! I use it to print Polaroids! 10/10 would recommend. :D

No way to edit formats. There is no way to change which pictures you want where in the photo layout For example, if you want one specific one to be big and the others to be small, there is no way for you to arrange it... The app decides for you, and that is extremely frustrating and useless. The app also decides how your pictures are cropped and rotated. I just bought my SELPHY, particularly looking forward to being able to print photos on different sizes, stickers, etc. However, I am extremely disappointed in this app and will now not be buying the creative kit with the sticker options.

Update issues. Seems to be an issue with the Canon update and working with iOS 15.5. I kept getting an error message that the app couldn’t detect the device. I got out my older iPhone (that hasn’t updated the iOS) and could get the printer to work. Still some bugs. Please fix so I can use the printer with my current iPhone and updated iOS!

Doesn’t Connect. I have an iPad with IOS v14 and the app will not connect to the printer. This makes the printer completely useless. Canon needs to update the app to work with IOS 14.

Terrible software!. If were buying your product, please keep your apps up to date and fix bugs and issues!!!

Terrible. Used to work fine. Now is basically unusable as the app keeps freezing.

Doesn’t work with iPhone 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max. Cannot get the app to connect to the printer, keep saying connection failed, check if the printer is turned on (it is), or if the password has been changed (it has not). Tried on both 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max and getting the same error. Tried on a iPad Pro 2nd gen with iOS 14.2 and was able to connect with no problems. Canon, please update the app to work with iPhone 12!

No way to edit, rotate or resize photos.. There are no edit options to do anything with the photos. You can’t lighten, increase color and most importantly you can zoom in/out or rotate the pics in the layouts.

Finally!. I have been downloading photos on my desktop and transferring to a SanDisk in order to insert in my Selphy for printing smaller photo sizes for my scrapbooking. This app works well enough so that I can print from my phone more quickly. Thank you!!

Awful. Support for browsing iOS photos is just awful. It shows a list of photo albums and offers no way to just browse the camera roll. It also doesn’t seem to support folders correctly. So you seem to have to add to a standard album in the photos app, then switch to this.

Overcoat options. Can we please have more overcoat options for the SELPHY square printer?

FIX THIS APP PLEASE. Please fix this app. I got the canon SELPHY as a gift and I feel terrible cause I can’t even use it cause the app is so glitchy and slow it’s impossible to use ! How frustrating. How can you even make a product so expensive and you can’t even use it cause of this app!

Amazing app with so many functions. The people not giving good reviews to this app haven’t learned the tricks. I have been teaching my friends how to use this app and have been troubleshooting their connectivity issues and we have figured out a way to make it work. We are having a blast using all of the different functions this app offers.

Horrible app. This app is always glitching somehow. It will constantly freeze up. It will take me more than one hour to try and print one photo. Zero stars!! Please fix it!!

Why do a need a separate app to do this?. I have a Selphy CP910, which has its own app. I have to install this app to fit more than one image on a print. Why can’t the CP910’s app do this itself? It’s inconvenient to have to use both.

NEEDS AND UPDATE. Works super slow every single time! Takes forever to select and edit 1 picture. It should be more efficient!

Does not work with iPhone 12 Pro - Canon please update this!. I was super excited to get this as a Christmas gift. I downloaded the app and followed instructions to connect the printer to my phone. Whenever I try to print it gives me an error about the connection. I tried so many times! So frustrating. I tried using my wife’s iPhone XR and sure enough, the printer connect perfectly and printed a great photo. Canon please update the app!!

Glitch. Everytime I try to use this app for my photos the pictures do not show when I select them, the screen stays blank as if I did not pick pictures to get collaged at all when I most certainly did.

How do you get this to work!. We can’t get it to connect to our wifi. We have deleted and reinstalled several times and nothing works! It only wants to connect to a neigh or wifi and will not give e us other choices. Any help?

Can’t even connect. Poorly designed app that can’t even connect to your phone during set up.

Pretty bad - connection wise. Trying for hours after getting my SELPHY printer, only ONCE was I able to actually connect to the printer and print a photo using this app. I eventually gave up and called it a night. The next day, I took a different approach. Using the app, I made my edits to the photos I wanted to print, and saved them to a separate folder. I then used software called CopyTrans to connect my iPhone to a PC and copied the photos onto the PC to an SD card. I then put the SD card into the SELPHY and was able to print the photos from the printer itself. While it involves a few extra steps, this method works every time for me. This app isn’t too bad for editing the photos - it’s pretty decent actually. Its high points are overshadowed by its poor ability to print directly from the app to the printer. Canon should really do better than selling a printer with sub-standard software support.

Add more frames and stamps. I recently bought the canon SELPHY Qx10 photo printer. I was so excited but then I downloaded the app and saw that there was a limited amount of frames and stamps to choose from and then felt disappointed. If you can add more frames and stamps that would be wonderful. I would be happy to pay a small amount of money for more stamps and frames.

Junk. Just bought the QX10. Cannot connect my 13 Pro Max to it. Fails with “allow network settings”. I’m not an idiot, I do IT for a living. Not impressed with this. It seems I’m not the only one. How is this so bad? If a device requires an app, make sure it actually freaking works!!! 😒

New update. Printer isn’t working after I did an update on my iPhone to iOS 15.5 . Please fix

Works great! Fun to print.. I have enjoyed using my SELPHY printer. I love the ability to just make my digital photos become a physical item to hold and cherish. One thing I would like to see in the app is the SUBTLE DATE print option. It is available on the printer itself with an sd card or usb device but not in the app. I hate using the orange font date format. The subtle is so much better. Would be 5 stars if they fix that add that one feature.

Hot garbage. Bought this printer for east printing from a phone or computer and after hours and hours of troubleshooting the only way it works is saving photos to an sd card and printing from that. I expected better from canon. What an absolute disappointment.

Consistently does not work. When I can get this app to actually work is wonderful. However, every time I use it, I need to delete and reinstall the app because it won’t recognize my photos and says cannot use this photo. It doesn’t provide an option to troubleshoot that problem either. Really annoying.

Garbage. Trying to use this app for the SELPHY printer I purchased: Epic fail…an embarrassment really. Unable to connect through the app and can’t get past the connection setting to do anything.

Could be better.. I like the app, but since their are no editing capabilities, I’m not able to use the printer to it’s full abilities. Hopefully they will add some editing functions then I could raise my review.

Can’t resize photo. Useless when the app can’t resize, zoom in or out inside the layout. It crops the pictures itself. You can’t adjust anything. Returning it.

Freezes way too often. The app freezes after printing one picture. I keep having to restart the printer every time I want to print something.

Great Printer good value. My daughter recently graduated with a doctorate in OT so I have enjoyed using this printer to print many of the great photos. However, I gave only four stars becauseI soon realized after adding more photos to my photo library on my iPhone X that the selfie app was not adding these and so I deleted the app and will reload it in hope that it will now have the new photos included. But surely this is something that should be fixed unless there’s a way but I couldn’t see it.

Can’t connect to iPhone 12. This app won’t connect to my iPhone 12 pro max. I can connect to my iPad, but it doesn’t always find my photos. I have to manually click each photo that I want it to access. Sometimes it won’t find the photos at all. Extremely frustrating. Returning the printer.

WILL NOT WORK WITH IPHONE XR!!!!. I have been trying to connect this printer for the past week. It keeps saying I need to have the printer turned on (which it is) and that I need to reset the password if it’s not connected to WiFi (which it isn’t). There’s a grammatically incorrect sentence that keeps popping up that says, “Remove the WiFi network when the printer was registered via WiFi settings.” WHAT DOES THAT EVEN MEAN?!?!? PLEASE FIX THIS APP SO I CAN USE MY PRINTER OR HELP ME UNDERSTAND WHAT IM DOING WRONG!!

Infuriating. This app is making me want to slam my head through a wall. Half the time it won’t let me view my photo library. When it actually lets me… it freezes and I can’t select anything. When I try to make a layout, NO PICTURES WILL SHOW UP. What on earth?? I’ve had to uninstall/reinstall just to make it a step further in the process every time. Takes me 2 hours to manage to get one photo to print (if I’m even that lucky). Atrocious app.

Will not connect to iPhone 12 Pro...PLEASE UPDATE THE APP!. Thank God I looked to the reviews for answers because I could not, for the life of me, get this app to connect to my Canon Square! It tells me “Make sure the printer is turned on”...it is. Then it says to “Get rid of the previous wireless connection if the password has changed”...it’s never been connected even once so there was never an opportunity to even create a password! (I even checked the manual to see if there was a preset password - there isn’t)🙄🙄🙄😡 PLEASE update this app ASAP!! Cannot use my new printer until you do.

Doesn’t Work. If you scroll down even once to select a picture it won’t load on the editing screen. It also will say “an error has occurred” if you try to print it when it’s not loading on the editing screen.

Good but needs more work and more options. Would be great if photos can be drag around and resize and adjusted as well as being able to add some notes (letters, fonts, colours and or drawing too). How about passport photos sizes and cropping? Maybe even invitations options too as well as cards. While a calendar input will also be a great option as well. This will suit an all around app for printing that anyone can keep and give away.

Slow loading photo library on iPhone 13. Very slow speed. Cannot even roll down and browse photos. Pls fix the problem asap.

Unhappy with change. Was a great app until recently updated an can no longer print photos as square size. App automatically changes them to rectangles. So frustrating! Change it back please

Bring back the FIT button please. While I love that you can now easily resize/ trim the photos can you please please please bring back the fit button that just made the image the size it needed to be for the paper. Still keep the Trim option but a quick snap to would be great for those of us that don’t want to fiddle around to much with it all.. Thank you!

Bring back ‘fit whole photo in’ feature. You previously were able to have the option to fit your photos into the layout instead of cropping the image; not in this version; eg 2 square prints in N-Up, please add this feature back

Needs to add a few things. Hello! I’ve had an amazing experience with the printer and I definitely recommend this, but I would like to have fonts for the date and also if it’s possible to get the date or text on the bit of white space. Thank you! - Happy costumer :)

Laggy can’t browse photos. Photo browser just lags as you scroll it’s impossible to use…

Does not work with iOS14. Could not connect SELPHY QX10 to this app no matter how hard I tried using my iPhone 12 and iPad both running with ios4. Only worked when I used an older iPad not yet upgraded to ios14

Square photos. Please can you add to N-up layout a 6-up so we can print 2x2 inch photos.

Layout adjustment. Images are unable to be adjusted once in a layout so if the layout crops the photo half we through someone’s head etc. you can’t adjust it to have the part of the image you’d like displayed.

That is great but need. The app works great. But for iPad it needs horizontal display support. Please bring support for iPad.

Can’t connect with IOS 14 and up. The QX-10 SELPHY printer is not compatible with IOS 15 and from my reading hasn’t been with at least since IOS 14. If you’re lucky and disable data and all privacy protocols, It will take you all the way to print preparation ….Before dropping the connection and not printing. Canon and Apple should have addressed this issue at least 1 year ago. Still nothing on it on their sites and community forums

This is a pretty good app.. I’ve been using this software for a couple of days now. I found it worked with no issues. As somebody else pointed out I wished it had a more different options to try. Other then that I highly recommend this app.

Pure trash. This app just… does not work. How am I supposed to print my pictures when the entire app freezes as soon as I open my photo album to make a selection.

Limited. There is no way to scale/adjust your logos for print layout. Very limited.

Overlaps printout. I took a photo on my iphone and printed kn the selphy app and it overlaps and does not resize the print to actual photo. When I used the bordered printing, it prints the whole picture but the border is like 1/3 of the picture.. Useless for photo printing on the iPhone

Bonne idée mais impossible d’aller au bout d’une action. J’étais très heureuse de découvrir cette application, malheureusement je ne peux pas l’utiliser pleinement. Après une impression l’application ne fonctionne plus. Quand je sélectionne des photos au bout de la 4ème ou 5ème l’application se bloque sur un logo de téléchargement. La correction de ce problème serait grandement apprécié vu le prix de l’imprimante, c’est dommage de ne pas pouvoir l’exploiter à fond.

Just ok. I’d like more options. Outside of 8 up would be nice to customize the grid to 12 or 16 up

SELPHY photo layout. Will not let me change the layout for printing goes to smart phone which I do not have ,this has just started to happen what is wrong

Impossible to open app. Just load the last version but I have just a white screen ... it’s the first time that I used it and it’s a very bad 1st impression ...

Great. I use this for my scrapbook and so far it has been amazing. I have the cannon SELPHY 1500 and I have had no issues. Prints great, layouts are easy to use. And if I print a photo too big or too small… I just reprint it with this pint sized printer.

Can’t print same photo. In the N-up layout. This is the only thing we use this printer for.

Stopped connecting to printer. Update: installed the app update on 8/26 and nothing has changed. My QX10 is still an expensive paperweight. It would sure be great if Canon would make this work on current IOS hardware. Before I upgraded to a 12 pro, this worked great and everything was good in the world. But it fails to connect to the printer now, telling me I need to enable local network access, which is already enabled. And to get that far I had to disable cellular access. (Why, I don’t know but it wouldn’t recognize the QR setup code otherwise…) This is very strange. Please fix this and release an update soon. Not being able to print makes the printer a rather expensive paperweight.

ID photo. Please allow the passport ID size 2x2in 2 up!!

TERRIBLE. Does not open photos and leaves you with blank page on newest iPhone and OS..

Canon Conundrum. I own a Canon Selphy & a Canon Pixma TS9521C. The interface for these with either IOS, Windows or Android is clumsy at best. It never seems to find the images through AirPrint like most other printers I’ve owned can. I would love the edit and preview features to work on the Selphy app so I don’t waste pictures that are improperly cropped. I love the speed and print quality of the Canon Selphy but the user interface has a looong way to go! I’m removing the app to reinstall a second time!
