App won’t configure connection after using Touch ID. I am connected to a connection and allowing the app to connect to it. App just won’t configure it. Norton has been very inconsistent in the updates, trying to fix issues lately. Not cool after paying a subscription.
I bought express VPN and have been using it happily with no noticeable loss of browsing speed. I just started the trial of Norton Wi-Fi privacy. I tested upload and download speeds using Net Analyzer app over Verizon LTE cellular data without VPN and with each VPN. I also tested over hotel Wi-Fi without VPN and with each VPN. Norton VPN upload and download speeds were comparable to no VPN for both cellular data and Wi-Fi. Express VPN upload and download speeds were 10 times slower than Norton over cellular data. Over hotel Wi-Fi with Express VPN, the download speed was comparable to Norton but upload speed was again 10 times slower. Conclusion: Norton Wi-Fi VPN is highly competitive in speed, NOT slow, and it is a trusted name in security. I have been using it constantly on for days with no problems at all. Now I have been using it a year constantly on iPhone and Windows 10. Works great almost all the time. Occasionally it won’t connect, but updating the app solves that. Only one problem: I can’t connect to my (Windows 10) home network printer unless I turn it off. Not sure if that happens with any VPN. Also, rarely it goes off and I find out too late that it did. So I learned to check the VPN symbol. I wish they had a lock to stop internet traffic as long as the app is open and unless the VPN connects, like SurfEasy vpn does. Overall I feel very confident in the security, just need to be careful to ensure it’s connected. Another year or more has gone by, and I have been using Norton Secure VPN most of the time on my iPhone, IPad, and Windows 10 systems. This week, I had it on all week on my iPad. This morning after checking my email and surfing with Safari, I noticed the VPN symbol was off. I checked settings and saw that “connect on demand” was set to ON. I checked the version in the App Store and saw that I am using the most current version. I checked my IP address and confirmed that I had been browsing online without VPN protection. This has been happening on iOS since I first started using the VPN. I trust Symantec/Norton as the best name in security, but without a network lock feature you need to be vigilant to confirm that it is actually engaged. Most important before walking into a public network that you have joined before. On Windows, it stays on reliably once turned on but it won’t auto-start when I restart the computer even thoughI have the current version and have it set to run on startup.
My phone is being held hostage by Norton VPN. There are some site that won’t work when it’s on and I know that. Problem is I can’t turn it off. It doesn’t respond to turn of vpn on its screen...go to settings...toggle turn off vpn...it comes back on !! It has a mind of it’s own. Only way to get out is to delete the app! Then just try and pull it back from the cloud and reinstall it...dare you... 15 minutes later and 30% power loss...you might be there. No choice but to give it a 2 because I know it works but it isn’t behaving properly.
My Apple iPad Secure VPN app has stopped working. I’m getting the following message: VPN Connection - An unexpected error occurred.
It works when it wants to; Sometimes I cannot turn it on; it has been frustrating. When it wants to work; then it’s fine, I expect Norton to be the best but I am still searching More recently, it has significantly improved so I have changed my rating to a 4 instead of a 3
With the most recent update from a few days ago, this app is working again. The only issue now is that the insecure network warning still jumps up even though I do have the vpn protection engaged. No big deal, just annoying sometimes.
This app is horrible. First, it’s says free for the the initial 30 days, but the app is not usable. You can’t navigate in it or not. In order to deactivate auto renew you are suppose to go to settings; but you don’t have access to that option. BEWARE AND STEER CLEAR. USE ANOTHER SERVICE!!!!!!!!!
I’ve been using this service for almost 2 years and have no complaints. I have it on my tablet, laptop and desktop.
Works really good haven’t had any problems Add blocker stops tracking of footprints 👣 have to turn it off for a couple of apps in order to use them.👍✅
I have been using this app for some time and all was well until you updated. Now nothing works at all. I log in and then get blank screen. I have uninstalled and reinstalled still no longer works on iPad Pro. Frustrating waste of money!
There is something wrong with this app I go to sign in and all I get is a blank page. When I sign in on the website it’s fine. Very annoying
Been using the app for 2 half years, now and then it has its glitches with updates it sorts itself out. Had problems when I brought an iPhone X Connecting to other secure wifi connections all good now.
Used to work well but now it’s hopeless. Won’t turn off when you hit the off button and you have to delete the app to get out of the VPN. Also, region selection is in unreliable and often even though you select the country you want it randomly selects some other country. They stuffed up a good product
I use VPN on my laptop and iPhone. No issues at all on my laptop - is stable and works as advertised. Unfortunately I can’t say the same for my iPhone. While stable I have problems selecting my preferred region when overseas. The program keeps reverting to auto-select and selects the country I’m in. Gets very frustrating trying to select my home country. When it does finally change, works well
Travelling through china. Connection was quick and easy
Still does not work properly. More trouble than it is worth.
Worked great for a month. Now has locked up. It’s happy to tell you you are not protected but you can’t turn it on.
Make system too slow need lots of improvement
The new VPN app took a couple of days to work on my iPad, now OK. Still not working on my iPhone.
I like what Norton products offer. This one keeps asking me to sign in or register. I have an account but it doesn’t acknowledge my account. I have uninstalled and reinstalled - still doesn’t work like it use to.
The connection is never reliable. First of all, it takes me at minimum 5-10 minutes to connect to the VPN, and over an hour at worst. Being in China, it is critical that I have access to my Gmail and other important services. Even something as simple as checking my emails can be a total hassle; something that should take 2 seconds takes an hour or longer... That being said, even when I do get lucky enough to connect, the VPN usually drops after just 10 minutes! I expected more out of a reputable company like this. And after all this awful service is said and done, they have the audacity to ask you to give them $30 a year once the free trail expires! Seriously?! I wouldn’t pay a dime for this app!
I can sometimes load on my iPad, but never on my phone as it states there are are ‘no seats available’. Even tried turning off on 1device to transfer to other, but that doesn’t work. Very disappointed.
The app leaves a lot to be desired. If I want to access something over the internet, if the phone indicates the VPN is on, it takes a long time to connect (maybe after the site times me out). Reminds me of the old dialup days. If the phone indicates LTE, I have to turn off the WiFi ( it is set to on, but Norton must be overriding it) so that the site will connect. For all of the reviews that say how great this, Im glad it is for them! How do I get my money back and get this off my phone?
Really expected app and hope it could working better in the land of China...
I have tried other VPNs and they were a pain to configure. The other VPNs become disconnected frequently. Norton VPN setup in seconds on both IOS and Android phones and tablets. The tech support is great if you need help. There is a long list of countries you can assign to your VPN. I tried several and they all work. For the price I would highly recommend this app.
I’m finding this VPN to be extremely annoying. It blocks websites I know are legitimate. I have to go into the app in order because I can’t control it in settings. I plan to uninstall it from everything it’s currently installed on.
I love the protection of the Norton VPN subscription! No problems so far. Wish I would have subscribed earlier. Great company. My company used them for several years for our devices.
When it’s working it seems to be working as advertised. I’ve had to uninstall and install it several times because suddenly I could not turn the VPN off and then another time I could not turn it on. I called tech-support and they suggested I uninstall and reinstall. The reason I tried to turn it off is, there are some websites that don’t allow VPN and won’t let you connect.
Worked good on my iPhone 8+. But after upgrading to a Xs it became unusable. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling. Tried turning it off at times but it would turn back on. $30 down the drain.
