Excellent game. These devs are really being generous making this game only $3. The game is extremely fun and has a profound amount of content that is earned at good steady rate which alleviates the boredom factor that a lot of devs don't take into account. Would recommend to everyone, especially if you miss the old arcade classics, but with a twist

Gamevice review. I play this with a gamevice and although sometimes the steering is frustrating I enjoy and recommend playing this games if you like racing games and good storylines.

Great game. I love this game because there is no in app purchases and premiums. Also, there is no ads and it does not require cell service to uses. The only thing this game needs is higher resolution and more detailed textures. This game needs new people to play so I can play multiplayer.

Good not great. If you are a fan of racing games you'll like this game but one major issue ruined the whole game for me the upgrades are messed up you upgrade your Speed Handling and Acceleration well if you upgrade handling to Max you gain more top speed the speed and acceleration options are useless handling is all you need I tested it in a challenging race on a hard difficulty and beat my opponent by 1 minute ahead by maxing out handling nothing else witch is neat but as racing game it takes the fun out of it and you can't really make your ride super fast or anything witch is fair but unfortunate the upgrade system doesn't work I love the gameplay and everything else however deserves editors choice but needs work

Amazing game. Yes. It does cost a few dollars. Consider, however, how hard it is to find a GOOD mobile game without in app purchases. One of my favorite parts to be honest! But the graphics and game play are super fun. If you like racing games, instead of getting one youll end up paying money in anyway, pull out the few bucks and enjoy!

What racing games should look up to. Just 100% this game today and played for about 7:30 hours in total, this game is absolutely amazing, and the mechanics are smooth, tricks are easy to execute without issue, water physics are fair, and the difficulty is right where it should be.

Wonderful, Limited. I enjoy this series, though I have zero interest in the “stunts for boost”, I can still play them as a racer. but in this edition you can’t work around the stunt ‘freestyle’ events like you could before. It’s a shame, because the courses look interesting. In this episode, you can’t race unless you dance.

My old Kindle. I can’t wait to get this game I found my old kindle and this game was on it it was one of my all time favorite games and I remember the time I got it me and my brother were sooo in love with it and I thank u for making the game I’m going to get it again and give it 5 stars plz respond I can’t tell u how much I love this game it too much that words can not explain plz respond thank for for making such an awesome game

Horrible. This game has the absolute worst handling. It almost impossible to not crash into walls. There is no option for touch screen steering just phone tilt. The graphics are cool that about it. This game misses the mark. I thought it would be more exciting too. Huge let down.

Classic gaming is back. Classic gaming is back... none of this “buy” your way up to a top level. Bought the game once, and thats it. No 99cent upgrades. No $5 double points nonsense.

Fun. This is a fun game, far from perfect, but not bad. I find I enjoy the game more when using my Steelseries Nimbus Bluetooth game controller. One complaint I have would be the inability to pass through some screens... I don’t want to waste time with the story, let me pass through the conversation, I just want to race.

Riptide GP Renegade. Great game! Fantastic graphics. However, there are two things I wish this game had. These are very minor because it is already a perfect game. A free roam option so you can spend time exploring the highly detailed courses. The developers spent a lot of time creating this world, it would be nice to see it without the pressure of racing. The second thing is a simple stunt practice course with no time limit or other riders so you could perfect jumps and tricks. I also enjoy playing the game without having to spend a lot more money on power ups like so many other games require you to do now.

Fun for some, not all scenarios. Riptide is an amazingly stunning performance of how terrible i am at eye/hand coordination. The graphics are beautiful, and it flows with a force similar to a Japanese tsunami. This game crushes all other racing games. 3 situations i would not play this game, 1) while heavily intoxicated 2) while sitting on water bed 3) while riding your girlfriend. Other than that, this is one epic step away from reality. Oh and maybe not while driving either.

Great game totally worth it.. Great game there are so many career races but when I got to one of the career where you have to stunt to win it won't let me do certain stunts that I have. And I don't repeat the same stunts over. For the people who don't like the controls you can change them in the settings.

Difficult. This is how the settings really are, Easy=Normal Normal=Hard and Hard=You Must Not Have A Life. I have GP2 also. While that one had a less developed feel and was too easy, I enjoy it much more.

Amazing through and through. I’m a real person too, if you like this type of game. The only thing I would add to this game is an option to control the throttle, for instance, throttle button bottom right, directly left place the brake button, bottom left a left arrow and a right arrow side by side or even better a equally sized steering wheel and the ability to change the size of both the throttle buttons and steering buttons vertically and horizontally and the ability to slide them wherever you want in screen.

Good game however, I still like the GP and GP2 more. To be honest, I am a little disappointed. I am the huge fan of Riptide GP and Riptide GP2. I don’t like the tilt controls on Riptide GP Renegade; it felt so different and much harder to adapt. Maybe it is because I got used to the tilt controls for GP and GP2.

THIS IS AWESOME!!. I originally bought this game after my brother showed me Riptide GP2 and, let me say, Riptide GP2 is amazing, This is WAY better. The graphics are amazing and don't drain your battery and the physics are amazing as well!

Fun game! Ad said 99 cents, store charged me $2.99.. Great extension of Riptide. But when an ad says 99 cents, you expect to pay that. I bought it anyway, but why bother with a special and then not give it to the customer? You guys just get out of Advertising school?

Splendid game, and not easy AT ALL. I freaking love this game. Better graphics, super strong AI... it's a good challenge even if you set the game difficulty at Easy. To beat the AI later in game, you really need to remember all the lanes, all the shortcuts and improve your riding skills multiple times. And surprisingly you need to statically hit the break from time to time. I think it's the only racing game where break actually matters. Nice design!!!

It’s good, but it’s not good enough to be two.*. It’s really good game until you get to a certain point where it gets too hard then you won’t be able to do anything you won’t be able to get money you won’t be able to get any of the other vehicles you won’t be able to do anything

Excellent water physics and great online racing. This is one of the best racing games I've played. My first racing game was Pole Position (guess that gives away my age) but I've enjoyed numerous racing games including Gran Turismo and many F1 games over the years. This game has excellent water physics, which means you get bumped around a lot by waves, just like you do on a jet ski in real life. You really have to think quick and make constant micro-adjustments to 'land' on the water correctly, on both the big jumps and also on the small micro-jumps in choppy water--to get the best times. Online play is fantastic! Some keys to success include: - on jumps, always get your jet pointed in the right direction before landing, - use most, but not all, shortcuts (some are actually slower), - know when to use tricks (and when not!) - know the best trick for each jump (tip: don't do a big trick that'll give you more boost than your boost meter can hold; that just wastes time), - save your boost to use at the optimal time (many folks use it right away, which isn't always the best way to use it) - when behind, draft others for extra speed, - play online, watch the fastest drivers, then do what they do!

A great game from start - esthetics, game fluidity and physics are spot on.. Great game, installed it based on the great reviews and a recommendation from an online blog. Hate playing games where someone else with a credit card gets ahead. This levels the playing field and I believe is well worth the price. I’m always on the lookout for new apps, not big on racing games ... more strategy then anything. But it’s simple and complex enough that just about anyone would enjoy it. Graphics are refined but not overbearing or so intricate that they render odd or drain your device resources .... gameplay fluidity and physics feel great. I’m particular about that as I’m a fan of flight and simulator games. Decided to install today and found my self playing until my “low battery” notification made me realize how long I’d been on. Im not a big gamer, but this truly is a classic arcade style game I want to keep around.

Quite Possibly the Best Racer. What makes Riptide the best? — NO F2P OR IN-APP PURCHASES! Yay!!! — Easy to pick up and play — Controller support — Great graphics — Great physics — Good upgrade system I can’t stress enough how important it is to me that this game is NOT Free-to-Play. I understand how difficult it is to have a profitable and successful game on the App Store without resorting to a F2P model with in-app purchases, and I am glad Vector Unit has not done this with this game. Quality games on the App Store are severely lacking, especially games with controller support. Vector Unit, if you keep producing games like this, I will keep buying them. I wish these devs made an arcade car racer. I would be all over that! To Apple: Please stop allowing in-app purchases for games! YES SERIOUSLY! It’s predatory and you’re part of the problem.

Hmm...love it BUT!. I really like this game but when I want to a certain stunt it doesn't want to do it. I assure you I'm doing them at the right time and moving my fingers. The sensitivity for controls need to be higher for stunt related actions. Overall good game though. Definitely worth buying!

Local multiplayer fail. Purchased this game for family to play on projector using Apple TV. I have 3 devices controlling the Apple TV just fine but the game only recognizes one remote. Great! we can each watch each other play one at a time. Fail. Gorgeous game is useless nobody else can control. Excellent water physics, only one player. Update: while it is a menu option the developers don’t support split screen multiplayer on iOS. Lame when iPhone can function as a controller...

I like this. I like this because it has a throttle. It gives you power of how fast you are going and how you turn corners

Great Family game. This has been a very entertaining game for me, My wife and our 9 year old. We got our first Apple TV game controllers this summer and this game is great for them. It’s been difficult to find a good follow up multi player to this one.

Come on, Guys.. To the people complaining about the tilt device controls, You can change it to touchscreen in settings > Controls. Try harder guys, It’s not that hard to find it.

Speed!. For an iPhone game, this is pretty diesel folks. Great physics. And most importantly, fun. Definitely worth it. Just make sure your phone fits the specs.

Lots of money nothing to buy. I’m playing this game continuously”I’ve won all stages and bought every hydro bike there is. There’s no bikes to buy no energy or improvements to make. My dollar signs keep rising with nothing to spend it on. I played riptide2 and it was the same thing that makes this game boring it hasn’t had an upgrade in 2 years. Upgrade this game before making riptide 3

Great game but dead servers.. I love this game but I bought it because I was excited to check out the online multiplayer because I thought it would be awesome but to my dismay I can’t find a single server with one single player......:( maybe consider making the game FREE TO DOWNLOAD but allow us to buy vehicles and gear and cash within the game and it would allow people to play it before they purchase anything and in return bring more new players to your awesome game and bringing the online multiplayer servers back online and alive again.

Wave Race 64 & Fatal Inertia have a baby. This is the perfect mix of two of my favorite games and it’s mobile!!! I dreamed of this stuff as a kid. Sooo fun! Love this game!

Awesome and Beautiful! Highly recommended. If you're at all interested in racing games set in futuristic or industrial environments using tilt-to-steer, GET THIS GAME. You won't regret it. It compares VERY positively to classics like "AG Drive" - graphics and soundtrack are at excellent, and "Riptide GP: Renegade" involves a long and varied "career" mode with many many different tracks and environments that leave other games in the dust. Or at least, it would if there were any dust: unlike many other race games, it's based around water environments. Tearing up the track takes on a whole new flavour with the addition of waves and weather effects (which are beautifully rendered) as you zoom around on glorified (and highly customisable) jetskis. You can get power boosts by performing stunts as you race, for extra fun. In short: HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! A stunner of a game.

PERFECT. I usually don’t write reviews but I feel compelled. This game is a perfect example of how it should be done! From the amazing graphics and sound tracks to the fluid and smooth game physics. One low and completely worth it price for the entire, unlocked & ad-free game then no IAP’s at all making the online games fair and free of pay to win players that plague all the other games these days. This game is easy to play and amazingly fun. Somehow they’ve managed to produce a console style game in every sense on a portable os and device platform. If they ever build a video game hall of fame like they do for sports or music then this game would certainly be inducted. As a older gentleman from the earliest days of the video game genre (pong, pacman, centipede, and so on...), I can tell you that renegade belongs in that list of timeless groundbreaking classics and is a MUST PLAY for ANY player regardless of age, sex or race. If you buy only one video game for your device then do yourself a favour and make sure its Renegade!

Best game of 2023 too!. This is hands down my new favourite game on iPhone 13 Pro Max, and possibly my favourite game of all time. The graphics are unreal, the “feel” of riding/driving is perfect, the stunt combinations make “sense” to perform, it’s smooth, graphically pleasant and doesn’t heat up your phone like others. Super fun, the speed of levelling up doesn’t get exponentially worse over time like every other game on the App Store right now. Doesn’t limit game play. Perfection!

So far has been fantastic. Wonderful racing game - and I'm curious/excited about the multiplayer support on a split screen via external game controllers. Occasionally pulling off tricks off jumps is a bit weird but that's a small complaint compared to the rest of the game

Action, audio, graphics and even, yes, AppleTV. This game is at its top for its graphics, audio, and good control. Easy to play and learn. One can just play it without thinking or can really get into the career building and upping your skill set and machine. The biggest surprise was how well it plays on the AppleTV. It has totally displaced a couple of other good games that I play with a friend on the AppleTV every week.

Great but... encountered a progression blocker. Viper's second side quest cannot be completed using the touch controls. We are losing too much speed on tight turns because of the touch controls, this is especially a problem in the level with the fires on water (forest). I was able to get 3 stars in all other challenges tough. After 8 hours of attempts, I decided to put 50 bucks on the table and challenged my friends to do it, none of them were able to beat the damn level... even after lowering the difficulty to Rookie! Was anyone able to beat viper's side quest and unlock his police vehicule?

Absolutely awesome. It's really fun and the controls are nice and smooth after you play two matches or so and the graphics are mind blowing for a iOS game definitely worth it

Good...but controls need fixing. The game is pretty good. It's fun, but it only gets 3 stars as there are issues with the controls. Sometimes when you're pushing left or right, your guy keeps going straight and the control doesn't respond to the player trying to turn his character left or right. This needs fixing.

Best iOS racing game I've played.. Really satisfying racing -controls feel precise, the jet ski always does what you expect it to. Great sense of speed, and going off of huge jumps and doing absurd tricks in midair is a blast each time. Great progression system - win races to improve your skills, upgrade your jet ski, and unlock new races and jet skis. NO MICROTRANSACTIONS. Seriously, it's worth buying just to support the business model. Graphics look great,and it runs fine on my iPad Air 2. Highly, highly recommended, most fun I've had with a mobile game in a very long time. Would've felt like dropping $10 on this was money well spent, so $2.99 is a steal.

Floppy-fish steering!. Super-fun game idea. Question: Why does every racing game need to have the floppy-fish steering? They can't make a challenging race game without giving you terrible equipment? Come onnnnnnnnnn

Fantastic game until it cheats. The game is the best of the series so far. Story mode is pointless but some people like a scripted story. The HUGE problem is the boss levels. If you have your best jetski maxxed out the game still cheats on boss levels. They get boosts you can't get, they recover faster then any racer in the game. This is kind of expected HOWEVER when you get to Krex, there are BOMBS that keep you from winning. Seriously, all through the game it is playable and winnable with retries depending on your skill. But the final boss is NOT a race, it's a pointless exercise is cheating. This is a race game. Last boss it stops being a race game and it becomes something STUPID.

Best of the series but.... If you know this series, expect the same tight controls and excellent gameplay. This is the best looking of the bunch; you won't believe some of the tracks. No iaps (excellent). What shocks me the most is the size of this file (it's only 102mb). The graphics would make it seem like it's a 1 gig game. My only complaint (and it's a big one for me) is that it drains my battery extremely fast and I've never felt my phone get so hot (iPhone 6). I hope the devs read this and make an attempt to remedy it. If it didn't do what I mentioned, this would easily be a five-star game.

Great, but.... The game is amazing so far, great graphics and a pretty decent single player. Only problem I'm having is on some tracks where there is a lot of trees, you see a ton of pop-ins. I'm using an iPhone 6s with iOS 9.3.4 running the graphic settings at ultra (That was the recommended setting for my phone). This game just came out so it's not a big deal but just something that can be fixed in the near future. Other than the pop-ins, no lag whatsoever.
