Going backward. My Meural is one of my favorite gadget. The app though needs work. The experience has been improving but stability has much room for improvement, between small lags to complete freeze, it requires “patience”. The one thing that is beyond me: since the last update, one can’t add art to a playlist anymore. What’s the point of the Meural if you can easily add art? Please bring back the feature.

Need membership information after purchase as package. Exciting technology. App works well. Some trouble with set up but fixed and working. Sample art very limited. Not worth purchasing without plans to by membership unless you want to just show your own. I ordered a membership as a package deal and got no information on it. No email. No way to locate membership info. No call back from customer support but was day after Christmas. I expect once I get my membership this review will go to 4.5.

Bring back the preview option. Before this update, the option of previewing an art collection was easily and readily available, will the latest update, that option is missing when clicking on the selection menu. I only see the options to favorite an art or add it to the playlist. Where is the preview option?

Added “Share” option from iPhone/iPad Share screen!. Looks like the latest update added the ability to share and upload a photo directly from your iPhone/iPad photo library instead of having to start from within the Meural app and try and find a photo you want to upload (which was difficult to do since there were no sort options)...thank you!!! Keep up the great work. Great product! The only thing missing from the new share/upload option is the ability to edit the picture to add filters etc to it after it is uploaded..you can crop but for some reason you are not able to edit for color etc from the edit option in the upload like you can when you upload directly from the app...can that be added? Thank you.

Great product with lots of options, buggy app. I love the frame itself and the idea of using either my own photos or the ones in the artwork gallery, but some things are not stable at all. Adding artwork from the app to a playlist immediately crashes the app every single time. My frame display went dark earlier today and I had to plug/unplug it several times before it would work again. I am not feeling confident so far.

Keeps Getting Worse. Over the years, since Netgear came along, both the app and the customer service have gotten worse. The app used to function smoothly. Now there is constant reloading and waiting when attempting to change artwork manually. And it log out at random times. I’ve already cancelled my membership and don’t recommend this product while Netgear is involved. The selection of art work also seems to be getting worse with less emphasis on the available history of art included in your membership and more focus on contemporary work that they can try to sell to you.

Love everything about Meural. As a photographer, I always look forward to uploading my work. Aside from creating a print, displaying photos of anything whether it’s family, landscapes, travel, creating playlists and recalling them for display on the wall is so much better than leaving them trapped in a file somewhere, or displaying them online.

Like the new app, but needs improvements. The new app lets you do more; however, the problem is that it has too many bugs. For example, if I upload a photo later I can't add it to a playlist. Another one is with the search, the keyboard just hides when trying to type and doesn't have a way to search only portrait or landscape orientation.

Bad App for loading own content. The canvas is a great concept and beautiful. Loading your own content from IOS is a clunky joke. If you pick “upload photo” it shows all you photos and no ability to specify an album. Although there is a field at the top to pick an album, it does not actually show you that album and insists of showing all your photos. Also if you Airdrop a photo to your iOS photos that photo will not appear in the upload media in the App. It only seems to want to upload photos actually taken on your phone or iPad. Sloppy developers

Great product; iOS App update awful. Love, love, love my Meural Canvas - amazing product! However, the iphone app new update is horrible - much more difficult to use, not at all intuitive like before, difficult to navigate (earlier version was MUCH easier), when trying to upload photos apparently no way to choose orientation to properly frame them ......Sorry but the previous version of the app was great - this new update is extremely frustrating!

Frame randomly on, misses sleep times. This may be firmware vs app issues, but Meural frame has gotten worse since roll-out. Schedule no longer works well, as frame turns on randomly on it’s own (even when schedule is turned off), and app reports “frame is sleeping” when viewed. When schedule is on, it transitions to the correct album as scheduled, but misses “sleep” times so remains on too long. Need to return hand gesture “sleep” to menu. Why should this only be an app controlled device? Wish list: add iHome connectivity

Priority is subscription. The app does not work for me to upload any of my own works, despite listing this functionality. I’ve tried numerous times to upload to no avail. I am able to control my Meural playlists and schedules, which is why I have two stars. The developer has gone out of their way to give users every opportunity to subscribe to their service or purchase other artists works. This experience leads me to believe Meural/Netgear are more concerned about subscription revenue and less concerned about the user experience for customers who already paid a pretty penny for the display device.

Excellent product. Good app!. I am thrilled and delighted with Meural. Every new version of the app (except the one where they inadvertently left off the preview option which has been replaced in the latest version) has significant improvements. And the customer relations and ‘help desk’ are prompt, personal and solve issues. I mostly upload my own photography and my family’s artwork and photography, although I have a brilliant art library ala Meural. I agree with “anothergirl”, Meural is amazing!

This app makes buying Meural Canvas a really bad idea.. This app would get four stars if it didn’t crash constantly when trying to upload photos. It’s a bit unintuitive as well. It’s just not well thought out. This app really needs to have access to your photo libraries albums such as your favorites. As it is you have to scroll through thousands of photos to upload what you want. By the time you find a photo you want to upload, CRASH!

It’s great, but it isn’t.. Not easy to delete photos once in library, hard to upload pics from anything other than mobile device, says “offline” a lot when it isn’t. Wish there was a way to play all pics uploaded and not just one playlist at a time - OR be able to play 1 playlist after another instead of same on continuously. Would be nice if pics show up in order or if there was an option to shuffle or not.

Would be great if it worked with iPhone Max. At the moment, everything in the app works with my new iPhone XS Max, EXCEPT (and this is a biggie) anything you select under Categories in the browse tab. Whatever you select, it just freezes the app and the only thing you can do is close the app, quit it, and restart. If you select anything there again, it will keep locking up the app. I’ve tried everything to see if I could get it to work: restart my iPhone, try over WiFi, try over cellular, etc.. On the bright side, I called Meural and spoke to a nice woman that took down the issue described. Hopefully a fix will be coming soon. Update: I tried the app on my iPhone X as well. It use to work, but now has the same problem as described above. It is obvious now that the problem most likely stems from the latest iOS software upgrade to version 12.

Very Glad I Purchased. Amazing product. Easy 5 star rating on canvas and Meural library. Minor suggestions for improvement would be to increase range of brightness adjustment slider so canvas can be adjusted slightly darker. Number one suggestion is to make an even larger canvas option that has higher resolution for larger screen (note that resolution of current screen is totally adequate for current screen size, no need for 4K with 27” screen).

Love the app and I love my canvas!. I love having the Meural Canvas in my home. This app lets me do lots of stuff competitor products don’t do like schedule art to show at certain times and show art playlists. There’s been a lot of improvements in the last year so it’s exciting to see my Canvas getting more enjoyable all the time.

App issue after issue. I could not upload photos for months. Now the canvas is off-line and I can’t get it back onto Wi-Fi. I have had issue after issue after issue in the past year. The first few years we owned this was fine but now it’s one issue after another. How do I get my Meural back online? I have followed all the procedures and nothing seems to work.

Great frame, crap app function. The frame and concept is nice, but it’s nearly impossible to upload a nice compilation of photographs. Sizing is challenging, time required to upload is a nightmare, you often have to upload the same image 5 or 6 times before it actually takes. I’ve had this for about 3 months and have only uploaded about 20 of the 150 photos I have earmarked to upload. Wouldn’t buy again. Nice if you just want one photo or piece of art. That’s not what I bought it for

Great product, horrible customer service. Love everything about this, but the customer service is atrocious. I spent 48 minutes on a live chat to get nowhere on a mistaken $80 charge for two collections there were included in my membership. Absurd, at the end of the 48 minutes, a ticket for this problem was created by the incredibly unprepared agent. I end the chat, open the ticket in my email to find that I needed to elaborate on what happened because all the agent wrote was: “ verify customers membership and want refund for the downloaded art” . Pretty unbelievable. I hope they refund me the $80 because besides that (though it’s not light - customer service is incredibly important), it’s a good product. UPDATE: after 3 weeks, they reimbursed me for the artwork so though slow, it was effective. UPDATE 2: My membership stopped working again though I pay for it monthly (and already paid for this month), and it won’t see that I have a membership and wants to charge me for everything. The Customer Support is incredibly not free and I have to pay for a bug they have. If you guys put out a product that you’re not 100% certain works all the time with no problems, you cannot make people pay for customer support. Unbelievable.

Latest update broke layout. After the latest update the app started to randomly have layout issues upon launch. The row of icons that are supposed to be on the bottom ended up on the middle of the screen and the texts remained on the bottom, and the app stops responding to touch. It only happens when you open the app for the first time of the day. Looks like loading fresh data on app launch caused an auto layout issue with broken constraints, please investigate and fix!

Documentation and controls a mess. Ouch. I am principally interested in loading and displaying my own photography on the Canvas. The app and my. Meural site are confusing, limited in scope and wholly inadequate to the task of guiding a user thru the features. And I'm not a novice at deciphering interfaces and getting things done in digital realms. After trying to parse out what makes an album distinct from a playlist, after muddling unsuccessfully for long stretches how to get a jpg to actually arrive on the Canvas screen, after seeking in vain for instructions on how to load images from a SD card, I realized this was going to be a struggle. I called support for help with the SD card loads, and found out there is a cache of Kniwledge articles available, somewhere, somewhere hidden from the app and so-called documentation it seems, and that offered a solution. Which didn't work. Egad--WHO did Netgear employ to design and implement a user interface?

Bring the wonderful world of art into your home. This product arrived very quickly, in well designed packaging. The frame took only 15 minutes to setup. The app takes a little time to figure out, but really opens up a world of all kinds of art. It is very easy to make playlists of photos, paintings, and drawings. You can show anything from museum masters to your own personal photos.

Love the product - bad app.. The app needs some drip us fixing. It’s freezesall the time and doesn’t load well. I literally just came to write this after trying three times to upload something and constantly getting error messages. :( I hope they fix it. I really don’t want to go shopping for another product.

Flaws in the APP. Let me begin by mentioning that the Meural photo frame is an excellent piece of hardware. For me, the issues are with the Meural app. First off, the app will not upload any photos that are synched from a MacOS device. I keep a large library of photos on my Mac Mini and then synch selected albums to my iPad and iPhone. On both devices, these photos fail to upload to the Meural website. Photos that were taken or saved to either device upload as expected. The only way that synched photos can be uploaded for the frame is by using a browser. They work fine. Second flaw appears on the iPad only. On the iPad, the Meural app only displays in Portrait view. It will not rotate to Landscape regardless of the orientation of the iPad.

Love my Meural. I love my Meural and the display despite being 1080 is very good and I’m not ready to fork over the amount required to get a 4K or 8K frame. I wish the app had more features and send the settings to the frame faster and more reliably. I also wish the are would show all aspects better and all orientations better since it cuts off the art of the orientation doesn’t match

Bad app…So hard to use!. Haven’t improved that much after being gone for two years: I can’t easily demo nor delete my favorites! Some “favorites” I no longer wish to have. It pains me to delete them. After deleting one, Meural moves position so I always had to start from the beginningIt plays “recent”. No button for “me” where I could find out if I’m still a member, etc. Many free paintings from two years ago are no longer free for display

Worst App for a big company. You would think the idea of such a nice product and idea of the Meural and all the capabilities it possesses that the company who can have Wifi technology and Orbi routers and all the other electronics could make a non glitchy app that doesn’t freeze all the time and run into so many issues. Not a day goes by where I cannot access the full app, upload a photo, access an album. And to boot you buy the annual membership and they still find a way to charge you.

Neat concept. First, the devs of the app are the best and responsive. Mural is a cool concept but there’s always quirks with the app. I’m just glad they keep updating it otherwise my picture frame would become a brick. Currently I’m seeing an issue with cropping photos I’ve uploaded. I compose and save and the crop doesn’t take effect.

Kind of quirky. It’s a beautiful app but it lacks in some clear direction/explanation. There seems to be a big lag between submitting a command and the Canvas actually getting the artwork. What’s kind of more confusing, is that sometimes it’s only 3 seconds and then other times 25. Also when I try to send images from my phone to my custom galleries, not all of my images on my photo roll show up. Only some. Again, there’s no clear explanation for this. There is also no navigation between iPhone albums, so you have to search through your full collection of images.

Solid replacement for Electric Objects. Needed to replace my electric objects frame since they no longer support the software. Very happy with the quality and the frame is working well thus far. Only minor quibble is the fact I can't send a single (specific) picture to the frame. I'm often sending something back to the family while traveling and its extra work to create a playlist with only one photo. Manageable but an odd miss.

Latest update is fantastic. I love my meural already but the latest app update makes it much much better it is so much easier to add art to playlists now and I like the daily suggested playlists to look through. Much less cumbersome to use and very well designed. Meural is amazing!

Different painting or picture every day!. Got a Meural Canvas Leonora Black about a week ago. I will admit that it is a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for! Absolutely love it and it’s exactly what I have been looking for. I am able to put my favorite pics on it and they look marvelous, for $50 a year I get unlimited stock of professional paintings, and helping the art Community out. Not going into what it all does, for that’s too much, but check it out it’s well worth the dollars I have spent! I have put it on a painting easel & love that setup! Their customer service via the phone right now is very poor, but I believe they are working on that. They do answer emails quickly. Am I satisfied so far. 100% Would I recommend it? Yes 100% 😃

Amazing App. Art and photography live forever in this Meural showcasing your work and viewing many others from all artists past l, present and your future. I love the works displayed in a large frame installation; looking like a painting or portrait either horizontal or vertical. Ensure you connect it to your WiFi and then to the Meural database. Easy on the eyes and a variety of framed finishes. Either one is great. I enjoy portraying my photography. Looks amazing in my living room. Adds a professional and classy look!

App is one of the worst interfaces I’ve seen. Ok, first off the Canvas frame itself is gorgeous! (When you do get your pics to appear) This app is simply bad! It crashes no joke every time I used it so far. Almost unusable to upload your own pics. This is how it goes: Hit upload, gross your fingers... opens your photos, ok click one or more then hit to send to canvas then freezes. Have to close app and hope it went. Then after you check it freezes again. Close app and repeat. “WHAT the heck”!!! And with no instructions on how to use the memory card feature is a big head scratcher......! If you love beautiful pics displayed (when it works) and absolutely love a frustrating interface download and get the frame. Or my recommendation, Wait till they fix what seems to be only an hour of coding to correct.. To the developer; thank you for taking the time to post a follow up response for me to reach out to you. This seems to be a little more than an auto response for all that seem to have issues with your app. All I want to know is how to use the SD card function and when the app will be fixed instead of a possible up-sell to purchase a subscription...? So when will the app be fixed and where can I find a PDF on the SD card usage. Thank you.

Vastly improved app. After an unconscionably long time, the app has finally been completely redone, thank goodness. After more than a year of limping along with an virtually unusable iOS app (I finally got into the habit of uninstalling/reinstalling it before each and every use because otherwise it was in a perpetually frozen state), at long last it has been redone and the new version is much, much better. I’m once again able to control the screen from my phone, and the playlists are a pleasure since you can have many of them (it used to be you could have a max of eight), so I can organize content by themes, orientation, or whatever else I think will be useful, and then scroll through to see and choose individual images to display. I do completely love my Meural and the content (though I miss the original editorials we used to get), and can only hope that Netgear will do a better job of keeping the app functional as operating systems evolve. Still on the wishlist: improving the support interface on Netgear’s site. Heaven forbid we have to weather any future protracted app issues with no means to resolve them. The product itself along with the content deserves 5 stars; the still-fresh experience with poor support demotes my rating to four (but I’m hopeful for better performance going forward).

There’s got to be a better way. Beware if purchasing the frame used, or buying a return unit: Unless the previous owner properly removed their profile from the frame, it’s locked to them. The reset button should bring the frame completely back to factory settings, like so many higher value, easier to steal iot devices allow. Instead, after submitting a proof of purchase and the barcode from the back, I’m now waiting for the unit to be unlocked during a short return window.

People should come first - customer support and cancelation policy horrible!. I was so excited to get my Meural canvas II. As a lover of the arts, I was excited to be able to display my own art and browse their catalog. I was hoping for a great experience but instead received the worst customer service when I called the support line. I received a box that was clearly opened and when I contact them they offered no exchange and refused to offer a discount customary of buying used or open boxes items. The app is still a bit buggy and shut off once or twice in the middle of using it. The subscription can only be canceled by customer support which after spending over an hour on hold with no compensation to make up for their product not meeting expectations you can see why it would be better to be able to manage the subscription through Apple. Unfortunately, I have now started to look for other services. I think to build a successful product and brand requires respecting and listening to people who took the time buy your products. I didn’t feel heard or seen as a consumer and as such highly DO NOT RECOMMEND this product until it offers better customer support and enables subscriptions through trusted services with a cancellation option that does not require reaching out by phone on hold 1+ hours to cancel a subscription.

Unable to Upload. Everyone seems to be having the same problem. Cannot upload photos through the app in iPhone. Developer keeps responding to all with “give me your email and contact information”. I have done this in the past, spent hours having them tell me to reboot everything, was escalated, and ultimately didn’t work until they fixed the bug in the app. They do not update the app frequently enough and this is clearly a division of the company that is not supported/staffed adequately. Do yourself a favor and stay away from meural. When it works it is great, but for months of the year when the app needs to be updated and it is neglected by the manufacturer it is garbage. Without software that works the hardware is a paper weight. Awful app awful updates. And to preempt the response from the developer, please do not ask to contact me. You wasted hours of my time last time and it ultimately worked when you spent the time on the back end updating the app. Sooooo just fix the app.

Pictures look great on wall. I’ve have a Meural for about 2 years. We like ours so much that we decided to buy my mom and in-laws the newest slightly smaller version for Xmas this year. They like them as well. The app is not the most user friendly of apps however. I think a great feature to add would be the ability to share created playlists between family members. This would allow me to create a playlist and share it with my mom and in-laws for them to easily send to their canvases. Would Meural consider creating this feature for users?

New features for great product. We’ve had the frame for over a year. The new easy to use app now let us turn it on and off and adjust brightness with voice control via Alexa which is convenient. Set up took us non-technology types a bit of time but if we can manage- anyone can! Easy to pick new art and make playlists. Would love to be able to voice control playlists as a next update wish. Beautiful art you can’t tire of and now easier to control.

Utterly unusable. I’ve owned a canvas since 2019 and while the hardware is incredible, it becomes nearly impossible to enjoy due to its reliance upon one of the worst apps that has ever existed. If you are in the market for something like this, I would not consider this product until the developers decide to invest in the app that is necessary for it to function properly. They have not made any positives steps in that direction in the three years that I’ve been a customer, so there’s no reason to think they ever will.

Beautiful but glitchy. The Meural is stunning and the quality of the paintings/photos/drawings is incredible as is the selection for which to choose (with membership of course). However, the app crashes every time I try to click the orientation button as well as marginal instructions as to how to use the SD card slot. Still unable to display photos from the SD card. Would still buy again.

Broken app. As others have stated, this app does not allow for easy browsing and adding my own images. Moving between iOS Photos albums does nothing and won’t refresh new photos. I had to resort to adding images to frame through the website - which is still a very clunky process. The hardware itself is pretty good - the display is fantastic but the rest of the fit and finish is just ok. Lots of cheap plastic and ill fitting parts but in the end, you typically don’t get all that close to the 27” model so it’s something I can overlook.

Hardware is Great Software is useless. I like the Meural itself. The app constantly doesn’t work. For example, deleting an album in the app… it tries to delete it and then the app closes. Loses connection to the Meural constantly. Takes a long time to sync. They also started charging for certain art even if you are already subscribed. What’s the point of a subscription if you have to pay more? I would buy more, but the app stops me and ruins the experience.

Crashy crashy crash crash. This app has crashed 30+ times in the past 15mins I’ve tried to get my Meural pics updated. My Meural has been off for a few months due to home repairs, got it back up this morning, opened app to see the new interface. The new version looks amazing, but it freezes and crashes EVERY attempt to change photo, browse through libraries, upload newly linked album, etc. This wonderful pricey piece of tech is essentially useless on my wall because I cannot manage it. Developers, please figure this out 😤

Not an “all or nothing” 5-star review... it’s great!. For years I’ve thought about purchasing cheap TVs and mounting them vertical to find that movie house vibe of new posters based on today’s featured movie. Every movie spot deserves at least one for ambience. First night we had it, watching Netflix’s Dark, I tossed the promo poster on Meural to feel the vibe. Watch a movie with 3-4 Meural showing art house posters and playlists for the movie itself? Rich man’s dream, but now you’re talkin’. All seriousness, Meural removes the issue of “can I be happy with that image there and let it influence my day.” Now each wall has unlimited inspiration.

Best Canvas Available. From works of art to my works of art, this is by far the best solution for displaying images. It is large enough that you can be across the room and still see the images very very well. The option of uploading my own pictures is excellent and the image quality is by far the best I’ve seen. I will say the upload can be a bit slow if you have a lot of pictures. However the display keeps people in the room focused on the picture frame for a long time. Glad I made the purchase.

Meural Canvas doesn’t work.. Brand new, out of the box, only worked for about 1 day. Now I can’t get it to come on. I unplugged it, turned it on, the Meural symbol and “Meural” shows illuminated for about 2 seconds then it goes off. I’ve gone into the app, selected the playlist, and it says “now showing” but there’s nothing on the screen. Great idea, terrible execution. Also found out that my work had bought a couple and experienced this same thing with at least one. Figure it out, gang. No good.

Good app but no landscape mode support in iPadOS. Good enough app but has no support for landscape mode in iPadOS which makes this useless if you use your iPad with a case and stand in landscape orientation. Please add this functionality. Management of existing playlists and files on the canvas could use better design and functionality, including ability to select multiple items to action.

App Crashes with every other button press. Please fix this, running iOS14.2. Would be a shame to return this expensive digital frame because the app crashes with every other button press.

Getting better!. App now allows for more seamless browsing of gallery content and syncing to the canvas. Need to add: - Browsing/filtering gallery by orientation. - More granularity of brightness controls and light sensitivity.

Great product, HORRIBLE App. I love my Meural. I love showing off our photos on our two Meural frames. However, this app absolutely is the worst app I have ever used. It takes the joy out of posting new photos. If you think I am being critical, spend the money on the frame and then spend 30 minutes with this nightmare of an app.

Awesome to have browse. Awesome to get browse directly in the app. It keeps getting better and better so fast. Looking forward to more features!

App crashes. I have to only use the website now because the app always freezes on my 11 pro max.

Troubleshooting madness. The FAQ don’t address the issues I’ve had connecting my canvas to my WiFi, blames an incorrect password, which is incorrect. I should just contact the company but I’ve been too busy to deal with this and it’s been a couple months. In trying to sign off, the app claims that every obscure nickname has been taken. A pain.

Love my Canvas, the Meural app.... not so much. My Canvas is one of my favorite things. Fresh art on demand, my photos and art on my wall whenever I desire . 100% awesome. The app however, at least on my iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone 11 Pro, isn’t great. No matter my internet connection, images load extremely slowly. I can’t make or even access playlists anymore, just a blank screen - this used to work, but even after reinstalling the app, nothing. It’s not intuitive and everything seems to lag. The desktop or website work much better.

A one of my favorite devices. In all of my technological “gadgets” few are as dazzling and pleasant to behold as my mural. I firmly believe that the yearly subscription is a must-have. The app, now having updated the albums -> playlists, has been refining and improving itself throughout my experience with it. Please .. iOS App needs to be updated !! How much longer?. Reordering ability is Gone!! Bring it back. Please update the app. Screen flickers when App on iOS is open. Please update the app. Make it easy to see which images are on the canvas vs the cloud using the iOS app. Please update the app. How can I move images that are on the canvas (not the cloud) to another canvas ?? Would gladly pay a fair price for more cloud storage if I need it. Please address it. Please 🙏🏻 I spent so much $$$ for the canvas and it needs a better iPhone app. I’m begging the team to address the current issues.

Bait and switch. The hardware is nice. App and software is a bit buggy. The whole membership thing is a joke. I got it free for a year to try out. I won’t be renewing. I might reconsider if there was an option to turn off all the up selling going on. I’m not paying $15 for a jpg to put on my wall on top of the $70 a year membership. Very annoying to say the least.

Meural is Amazing. We bought Meural over a competitor due to higher number of app downloads and features. I really love it so far. We love having new art daily.

Meh.. Look. I REALLY like the frame. Seeing my photos or artwork is really great. But it is really hard to get photos to crop correctly or make them show up without cropping with this app. There is also a bit of a lag and the interface with the display is a bit glitchy so you don’t always see what you’re going to get for a couple of seconds and then it doesn’t always work. So. You know. Meh.

Like being in a museum. I love being able to sit and look at the paintings of my favorite artists without leaving my own home. I can take all the time I need without worrying I am in someone's way or taking too much time. This was a major purchase but so worth it.

Privacy settings. I’m curious as to why the app was changed to require access to all photos to allow uploads. A previous version allowed access to just selected photos.

Art disappears from the playlist. They can remove the free art that you download as a member if in the future the art is not free anymore, i have many playlists that have missing arts because they have removed them without telling me and once you go to download them again they want you to pay for it.

Suggestions. Still too hard to add photos to an album from app, it should be able to tell me that the file is not in proper format and allow to skip instead of getting failure to load and nothing works properly

Seems like a few updates would make a big difference. Why do I have to sign in every time I open the app? Why can’t I preview and edit a picture to see how it will look, then enlarge or move the borders?

One of the best gifts ever!!!. My husband nailed it. Love browsing the paintings and artists and genres and adding to my playlists. It’s so neat to have ever changing art on the wall. I’m disappointed that I can find any Picasso’s?? And I wish the frame/screen was bigger. If they ever make a bigger one, I’ll definitely buy it.

Customer support Rocks!. They answered all my Questions and helped with my moving and connecting to the new network!! Greatly improved customer support!!!

Primitive for the price!. Buggy, crashy, and unintuitive. - album selection on your device for uploading doesn’t work so you’re left scrolling through thousands of photos to find the one you want. - the menu item on the right (4 arrows in a circle), I assume it’s to modify setting or something, just crashes the app every single time. - not clear how I’d add a second Meural to this for a second set of photos, probably not going to spend that kind of money hoping it might work. Just seems like an app thrown together to sell you artwork rather than a robust platform for artists to display their own work. So far I am disappointed, and given the timeframe it’s had to mature, I don’t see that changing any time soon.

Really amazing collection of art. The almost Herculean task of acquiring the rights to display all the art in Meurals collection is hard to comprehend but undeniably impressive. I really enjoy the ability to change out the artwork on my wall whenever I want to. This truly is a golden age!

Having some issues. I seem to have issues uploading images. It says that it is uploading but when done, nothing happens and it doesn’t upload. When I try to edit images it just resets after a couple of minutes of editing the picture. Please help!

Good product terrible app. This is by far the most buggiest app I’ve ever used. It constantly hangs, or doesn’t work entirely. It’s a shame because I like the physical product but I dread everytime I have to use this awful app. It makes me not want to use the whole thing or buy any art anymore since the app experience is literally torture.

Very good app with some feedback. The canvas is just amazing to look at! U don’t feel like looking at a screen but to a real canvas, specially from far away, superior quality The app is great and very responsive and hassle free to connect with very good list of options, However please change the photo layout in the upload screen, it’s only sorted by date and its a great hassle if you have a big selection of pictures, please sorted like the native photo app or at least add options of sorting layouts Also an option to control multiple canvases would be great to have! Thank you for this canvas

Please add zoom and crop to fit. Stretch to fit the screen distorts the image. Please add an option to zoom to fit and crop out the part of the image that doesn’t fit. This is the best compromise between blank bars on the sides and stretching the image. Thanks!

Great customer service by email!. Very helpful and quick response! We love our Meural so much that we purchased one for our Mom for Christmas! What a great gift!!

Completely Useless. Crashes on upload. I purchased the frame so the could link an album or upload photos. Once it starts the app crashes every time. It only doesn’t crash if I deny it access to my photos, which defeats the purpose. Do not buy a Meural if you want it to show you pics. It is an expensive useless device!!!

Mixed. I like the concept, find the hardware tough to make respond to gestures, and the app seems counterintuitive to use. Pictures get loaded but don’t show up on the playlist at times for various reasons. Why the app doesn’t notify you of a problem, instead of just letting the picture sit in limbo is hard to understand.

Playlists. Very disappointed in the playlist feature. You can only add to playlist after upload, and when editing a photo it does not show its current playlist - extra steps and guessing game.

Abysmal. Fundamental aspects of this app just don't work. Basic things like connecting to your meural don't work. When browsing through playlists there is no obvious way to add them to your library (pretty expected functionality, right?). Very underwhelmed by something that is supposed to be a bit of a luxury item. Feels like a mess of a Kickstarter circa 2012.

Uploading problems. After finally figuring out how to upload photos about six months ago, now I cannot get any recent photos to upload. All photos are taken with my iPhone, this is all I ever use. As far as I am concerned this needs so much work to be done I don’t think I will ever “like” it enough to recommend to anyone else!

App freezes all the time. Unusable. It was a bit glitchy, but working ok on 9/5(Saturday). Since 9/6(Sunday), every time trying to open a playlist, pictures, or story, app freezes. Very disappointing. Update 9/9: updated the SW on the canvas. It might be a coincidence, but the app started working again.

Support is TERRIBLE. Yikes, the support through Netgear for this product is awful. I’ve had my Meural for over a year, my membership is expiring and I want to renew it but their site reports an error when I enter any credit card number. Their phone support is manned by folks who don’t speak English well and don’t even understand what the problem is. Email support is equally as terrible. No one seems to want to help me continue my account with them.

Motion sensor cannot be disabled. Why is the owner unable to turn off the motion sensors like many other smart frame manufacturers allow? The sensors really lower the overall value of the display as their readings are haphazard and random, at best. You walk by, maybe 5 ft away, and it picks up the motion and changes the images. Annoying

iOS Photo Integration Needs Work. Please add the ability to sort by albums rather than having the entire camera roll only. Scrolling through thousands of photos is not a great user experience.

Seriously impressive. This is one well built, intuitive device. I have been impressed at every turn.

Great product, app crashes. Love the product, plus the app for the most part is great, nice art and good info, educational and informative. However, every time I try to search for an artist the app crashes, hence the 1 star docked.

Great App. Wow this app is a great experience to use, I wish some things were a bit more refined. One thing I would like to see in upcoming versions is the ability to have a filter that removes all nudity and explicit content from displaying for commercial use.

Terrible app. Doesn’t sync half of the time. Can’t control what’s on the screen half of the time also.

Frame is Beautiful. This app is terrible.. The app has been granted access to all of my photos and albums, but will only see 5 of them. Worse, the 5 albums it does see appear to not have any pictures in them. Luckily the app installs on an M1 Mac and works much better there. There is also a website that partly works. The app says it will see changes to the linked albums automatically, but it does not. Through some combination of the website and tha app on my Mac it works with manual input. If you can bet past the app issues, the fake is absolutely amazing and my wife and I no longer argue over which of our photos gets printed to put on our wall!

Another update, another fail. I have 3 frames, I’ve spent loads of money with Netgear. I can’t upload my own photos anymore with the “update” no one asked for, and I can’t even make new playlists for the few photos I have already loaded. COME ON already.

Meural Demands 100% Access to Photos. In a recent app change, the folks at Meural have made a ridiculous privacy grab for access to 100% of the photos in your phone. For me - who wants to select (and thereby grant access to Meural) a few photos from my album for display in our living room Meural - this is a deal breaker. Granting Meural (aka Netgear) 100% access to 100% of my photos when I will display <1% of them on my wall is complete nonsense. Sadly, unless Meural changes their policy, I will be stuck in time in 2023 on my Meural wall. Guys and gals at Meural who are reading this - honestly, would YOU grant 100% access to your 100% of your photos for a third party digital photo display service?? Yeah, I thought so.

Doesn’t Upload Photos Anymore. Every photo upload attempt on both my spouse and my phone fails now. The app also freezes on almost every use for the past two months. Trying to find Meural support on the Netgear site is literally impossible. None of the support links in the app work. Please fix. This is unexceptionable for such a pricey device

10% success rate of image upload. If I’m lucky I’m able to upload my own images. Uploading fails most of time in the app and fails silently most of the time from the iOS share widget. Even when it does upload it’s hard to tell what the behavior will be. Some Live Photo’s have turn into looping gifs, which was neat until I found that they were not cropable on the canvas.

Fantastic. In a word.......fantastic. Sometimes forget it’s a digital rendition. The data base of art is extensive. My best purchase of the year. Waiting for a larger format. Highly recommended.

Love it. Our adult children upload new photos of their families regularily and so we get these surprise photos. We love it.

Can’t upload on iPhone. Everything on this app works except uploading a photo from my iPhone camera roll. Just the most important part really. Super frustrating. It’s only worked once and I have to use the website.

Flaky software.. Almost always have to reboot my phone each time I try to change a photo. Also, one of our frames has been displaying the outline of the on screen menu within a year after we bought it (like burn in).

Can’t upload, app is broken. Latest version of the app straight up doesn’t work to upload photos to a playlist. The app hangs and takes up all the RAM on the phone and the phone gets hot and locks up when trying to show you the list of playlists or when uploading a photo. And if you get lucky it’ll say “item added successfully” but won’t actually show up on the playlist.

App says to contact support, but support can’t help!. Be very careful if you’re buying a second hand Meural. If the previous owner didn’t remove it from their account, and you can’t reach them, you just bought an expensive paperweight! The app says support can help you resolve accounts, but the support reps can’t actually help you! They just tell you it’ll be escalated to be resolved within 24-48 hours and you never hear back from them again. If you call back, another 24-48 hours.

Frame wasn’t working. Frame wouldn’t connect to app even though I was on the wifi. I uninstalled and reinstalled app and it worked again

New Update glitchy. I Absolutely love this frame ! It’s gorgeous and I do love the app easy to navigate. But current update glitches . Pictures do not update to canvas. I can’t seem to find support easily. Which has brought me to Review. Pictures won’t load to albums and if you post directly to canvas app crashes . Mueral Please Fix ! I Love My Canvas and use everyday ❤️ Thank you Would be nice as well if support was a tab instead of a 30 minute search that results in nothing found . Canvas is worthless unless app works :(
