This has helped already!. We have the worst hackers in our bldg. Because of it we can’t have WiFi or cable because we only have xfinity/Comcast and their routers are apparently quite easy to hack. So we depend on our devices for entertainment. But they get into those too...have been through 15 phones in 4 yrs! I just had gotten yet another one & this time got an “expensive” phone. Yet once again after a few weeks starting showing signs of hacking & could get good reception or even complete most calls. That all changed once I got Encrypt Me!!!! My signal has gotten better,no more dropped calls,no more battery running in the background for no reason, no more strange texts/emails/calls etc. After one day I’ve seen so much improvement I even canceled my service appt at the phone place this weekend. Rating this 5 stars and going to tell everyone about this app. You guys are lifesavers! Thank you for creating this app.

Not working properly on iPhone. When the app is installed on my iPhone it would not enable, said there was no internet. But I could connect with some web sites so I did have internet. And It also would only let me connect to a limited number of web sites. One example of a site I could not connect to was my Google contacts. All these problems went away when I deleted the app. Uninstalling and reinstalling did not fix any of these problems. I also had problems on my iPad. It worked better on the iPad, I could enable it for example. But a number of sites were blocked that you would never expect to be blocked.

Connection issues. Regularly have problems connecting to WiFi now that VPN is installed. IOS and apps update automatically so that’s not it. Phone does eventually connect, just takes a long time (several minutes, walk away and come back). So I leave the VPN off and only turn it on manually when I want to get on public WiFi. The rest of my family deleted the app because they aren’t patient. But I want the security sometimes so I just use it occasionally, and mostly stay on cellular.

Good VPN, but app feels abandoned. Works well enough but I haven’t seen a significant update in years. Needs some basic UX improvements like pinning favorite locales, showing average speeds, etc. It also doesn’t work for major streaming providers but that’s not their fault—would just be a huge plus if they did. I’ll probably switch VPN providers if they don’t add this.

I have to agree with the new critical reviews. Update: now the app crashes regularly and failed to detect network changes. It's completely useless, and support is unresponsive. They spent all their resources on rebranding instead of the service itself. I am now looking for alternatives. Original review: Something broke in the last few months, before that it was rock solid and seamless. Now it fails to detect network changes, regularly claims no internet (which requires killing the app), and sometimes won't connect at all if set to 'fastest available'. Having some of these issues on the mac too. I suspect it's something fundamental in how they detect network location and access, but so far support hasn't solved the problem. Oh, and this is on Verizon, so it's not just att. A once great app in decline. Hope they fix it, otherwise I'll be looking for a different vpn provider.

Great when it works?. Everything is great as long as you’re on a “trusted” network. If you’re not, it blocks EVERYTHING. Which is meant to protect you. The whole point of this app/service is so that you can connect to most anything and it’s supposed to secure and make safe that network. I have yet to find a network where this does that. It just auto blocks all connectivity and secures nothing. Forcing me to go onto cellular where I might not always have great service or “trust” the network and hope I don’t get hacked. Which is what was done pre this service. What’s the point of having encryption if it doesn’t allow you to do anything, for your own safety???

Transparent dev communication, 'opaque' network tunnel. Simple, clean, but complete interface, as well as synced settings and unified account in MacOS and iOS, sharable across unlimited user-controlled devices. Reasonable price points and plenty of monthly data. Most importantly (for a VPN service), communication from the devs to the users is clear, transparent, reasonably timely in case of update, and inspires trust.

Disconnects easily. This is a great app: easy to set up and easy to use. However, the fact that it disconnects every time my device goes to sleep (close the cover, let it time out and lock) is a major pain. I have to reinitiate it constantly when using it. Please change it so it automatically initiates when it is switched on. One change would make it a five star app.

Works most of the time. This VPN tool works most of the time, but it will frequently not connect when it is supposed to. Just before writing this review, I enabled WiFi on an untreated network and had to manually enable the VPN because it didn’t turn on automatically. I also find that you sometimes have to toggle it off and back on or traffic will be slow and sometimes even non-existent.

Still having probs allowing some apps & websites. Great otherwise.. Fast, easy to use! Could use a manual and I haven’t figured out how to allow some apps & websites. Once I do, I’ll give this app 5 stars because it’s a great VPN and encryptor, other than the aforementioned problem. I saw where other people here have said this app doesn’t work because of many different issues and there is only email support. There is a support phone line. I know because I had to get my account setup with the company before I could get it working. I just haven’t contacted them about my problem with allowing some apps & websites. Every now and then I’ve had to open the app and turn the encryption on again, but that’s only been three times in the 6 months I’ve had it. When that happens, it shuts down my internet connection and I appreciate that as this lets me know right away, and without a security worry, that there is a problem.

Excellent. I have been in the market for a great VPN service for a while now. With how crazy this world has become I wanted to take the necessary steps to secure my internet connection. I recently purchased an Eero mesh system for my house and this came with the package I subscribed to. So far I am impressed, we will see how it goes!

Easy to use VPN client. I've been using Cloak for years on all my Apple devices including my desktop computer and my phone's. The application is rock solid and has never failed me in providing a good secure connection on all sorts of untrustworthy public networks. I recommend this application for anyone.

Glitches constantly. I am constantly having to reconnect or downright disconnect the VPN in order to get a useable internet connection. It will just totally freeze and be useless. Right now I’m going in an hour of fiddling with the app, log out, log in, delete VPN profile, reinstall VPN profile. Totally deleted the App and still I can’t get a connection. Don’t waste your time or money.

Truthsayer. I’m currently in Lausanne Switzerland and was trying to retrieve my mail. I keep getting error Messages that my e-mail account is not properly configured. I switched the server from fastest available to Europe. Still not working. On a lark I turned off the VPN and immediately I received new e-mails and my sent mail went through. I had this happen previously in Europe. Still a lot of bugs. I renewed my ‘subscription’ and learned a few months later that the system did not acknowledge the renewal. Following the help page I tried deleting the app and reinstalling. From the help page the system would not allow me to log in siting all sorts of error messages. Finally I went to the web site and was able to get into my account and update my password.

Buggy mess. Settings don’t seem to save. The VPN seems to force itself to stay on despite me toggling it off in the app and in the phone settings. The VPN would always come back on. I tried disabling auto protect, but the VPN would still come back on. I would tap the toggle to disconnect the VPN but then it would toggle itself back on, without me doing anything but watching my screen. Then when the VPN seemed to be off, my data/Wifi connections wouldn’t work. I deleted the app so I could finally get to the couple things online that the VPN was causing issues with but when I tried to log back in after reinstalling the app, I kept getting a connection error. This app has some serious issues that need to be worked out because it’s simply not reliable or even really usable right now.

What a tragedy. Had this service for years. Until about a year ago it completely went to trash. Now I can nearly NEVER get a con connection to even work. Not bad connection speed… cannot even get the vpn to connect in the first place. Just the red screen of trash telling me I have no connection. I have reinstalled the app, signed out and back in, and reinstalled the vpn profile so many times it’s ridiculous. Eero needs to sever ties with this garbage service.

Indispensable!. I've never felt safe on public wifi, therefore always needed an extra large phone plan to compensate for my data needs. Since using Cloak I feel very confident that I can finally drop to a smaller plan. Dead simple to use, with the only critique being automatic subscriptions can't be purchased in-app.

This is an updated review, after customer service fixed my problem. It never worked for me and I have tried to unsubscribe for months, but the links to unsubscribe never worked. When I posted a negative review, after being frustrated for months, they contacted me and stopped the service. So I am giving them 4 stars.

Brings any connection to a crawl. Testing with and without this vpn, it reduces connectivity to almost nothing. Windows 10 became like dial up…if you could wait long enough. iPad was actually useable, but noticeably slower (not even testing things like streaming or audio). I thought my iPhone was failing to connect completely- until I remembered I had this installed. Once disabled, it worked again. Definitely NOT recommended

What happened?. This PM/ Thank you for the quick fix with 4.4.2! Appreciate it! This AM: Latest update 4.4.1 will not trust my home network! Current network states “There is not enough information about this network.” On my other devices running version 4.4.0 works fine. I have tried uninstalling VPN and reinstalling VPN, deleting app and reinstalling, signing out and back in and still same issue. Come on guys you are losing me... unreliable.

Excellent Protection. I've been using Cloak for almost 2 years and I'm 100% satisfied. Because I travel frequently and often have to use public wifi, Cloak allows me to conduct business anywhere without fear of privacy or security loss. It is very easy to use on multiple devices too. Very highly recommended!

Easy to use. I am not tech savvy to say the least. I don’t even really understand the difference but I get a positive gut reaction when using this app. I deal with people hacked or cloned on my phone so much and this is a little bit of privacy which I desperately need. I would recommend it.

Frequently have to delete and reinstall on iPad. Works consistently on iPhone and macOS (all current hardware and software at time of review Dec 2017) but often doesn’t work on iPad (previous model from 2016), requiring me to delete and reinstall. It’s happened 3x in the last approx 6 months. Error seems to be related to “auto-connect.” As long as it’s off, and I connect manually, then it seems to work fine.

Excellent VPN, easy to use. Cloak provides an excellent VPN service that is very easy to use, as Apple users would expect. When I have had issues they have responded to my emails very quickly. It's great to be able to use a coffee shop Wi-Fi in the full knowledge that my transmissions are encrypted and nobody can listen in. Cloak works automatically. It's great!

Excellent Protection. Cloak provides VPN protection to your data communications quickly and automatically when your device connects to any wifi or cellular network. If you prefer to designate certain networks as "trusted," and not use its VPN, it's easy to make that setting in the app. Your location designation is very easy to adjust. Finally, I'm impressed by how The Cloak team is constantly working to find - and implement - ways to make their app and services even better. I've used Cloak for several years and figured it was time to write a review of this great app and company.

Great App & Auto Lock in Fantastic. Unfortunately like all VPN’s the downgraded speed on hotel networks, even the expensive paid ones at 5 *’s, is to slow for video streaming so it ends up getting shut off. Additionally the auto lock over Wi-FI is also great but again speed drops to much on all VPN’s. Where I used this the most was living overseas and watching Netflix, etc. for four years and the recent upgrade to be able to use Windows as well as iOS makes this the best one out there.

Just needs one additional feature. This is a great app to have on my iPhone but it would be very helpful to have a PAUSE button. I’d rather pause for 5 or 10 minutes than turn it off completely and forget to turn it back on.

Trial was great, Bought it, Stopped working. I WANT MY MONEY BACK.. UPDATE 10/22 In the end: -I paid $99 -I have to manually turn it on and off, because the automatic connection feature is apparently the problem, but even so, -It doesn't really work, and -When your VPN stops working, nobody at this company will be able to tell you how to fix it. Original review: I used this for the free trial and it was great. As soon as I purchased it for $99 annually, it was riddled with connectivity issues. It was off for a whole day and I didn't notice, because if the VPN has issues it turns wifi off -- rendering my devices unusable. I want my money back!!!!!!!!! UPDATE 10/22: The company did not give me a refund because only Apple can do that, apparently. The service still only works half the time. I have to manually turn it on and off, because the tech guy (who gave me barely decipherable advice, as I am NOT a tech guy) said it was having issues with "automatically connecting."

Excellent with iPhone. I've been using it for almost a year and it has been working great with my iPhone and MacBook. No major issues. I don't really care abou a VPN with 100 countries i just want one that keeps my internet at same speed or better. This one doesn't cause issues. Highly recommend. Though wish its a little cheaper.

Used to be great. No longer. 👎. This used to be a service I recommended to everyone. Now it rarely works correctly. I have to constantly try to fiddle with it. It often crashes when trying to simply turn it off to get an internet connection. It's been this way for months. Each update that comes out makes me hopeful they fixed the issues. Each update I'm disappointed. Who cares what your new branding is if the service doesn't work? I'm discontinuing my subscription and looking for an alternative.

Super easy to use & great support!. I have tried about 7 different VPN services for Mac and iOS, some work great on Mac but not on iOS, and some the other way around. Now that there are so many varieties of Mac and iOS malware infections that do everything from wipe your device to take it over all together, it is essential to be protected on the road as well as at home. I like that you can simply trust or un-trust networks--any network--and cloak takes it from there without having remember to manually connect, this has become the best app on the market. Cloak warns you the moment you go to a fraudulent site or are on an untrusted network. Their “Over Cloak" adds yet another layer of security. It used to slow down my speeds a bit, but the new version has solved that problem. When I had an issue or simply did not understand something, their support was immediate and outstanding. I traveled to Europe and used Cloak, and felt really good to know I could still connect to my country of choice, or to the US if I wanted to watch HBO abroad. It worked behind the scenes, with a minimal amount of configuration. I highly recommend this application for all your devices, and cannot be happier with their support staff. I whole heartedly second the reviewer who said: “it just works."

Says “tap this message to resolve the issue” but the button does nothing. Not recognizing my home network. There’s a big message the says “tap this message to resolve the issue,” but that does absolutely nothing. Can’t even tell if it’s registering a press of some kind. Just nothing. Vendor site has zero documentation on this, there’s no way to figure out even what the button is supposed to do. It did in the middle of this nonsense ask me to rate the app. So, here’s your rating. At least that button worked.

Good, Simple VPN Security App for Multiple Devices. A relatively trouble free and easy to use VPN security app for Mac and iPhone. Helps eliminate some concerns with home WiFi router security and public WiFi access on multiple devices. A few online services and websites block VPN access (e.g., Netflix and TD Bank), but I imagine other VPN services/apps would also have the same problems.

Unusable. I got this VPN as part of my Eero subscription and have decided to spend my money on another VPN service. When it is on, the connection is so slow that even the simplest of online tasks takes forever. In some cases, apps would just hang while trying to retrieve data. It is definitely the VPN because, when I deleted app, the problem stopped. I say deleted, which brings me to my next problem: If you toggle the VPN off, it just turns itself back on. Every time. Looking back through a couple of years of reviews shows that it has been doing this for a long time and it still hasn’t been fixed. Do yourself a favor and go with Express VPN. I never had problems when using their app on either Mac or iOS. I’m certainly using them again.

Still Needs Work. I love that it detects that I’ve connected to a new, potentially untrusted WiFi (like a hotel, coffee shop, or airport), and can automatically secure the connection. Other VPN’s I’ve used required that I manually secure my connection. Over time, the app eventually stops working. The behavior will exhibit as: it won’t auto-connect, or it will connect but the connection will have 100% packet loss, or it won’t connect at all (manually or automatic), or it won’t allow you to designate a new WiFi connection as trusted. Basically it becomes unusable. The resolution as of 4.2.1 is to reinstall the VPN Profile via an in-app action, which saves you from having to remove and reinstall the entire app, which was the old fix. This is awesome because it shows the developer is aware of issues and actually working to improve. Unfortunately as of the last few weeks, the service has become basically unusable. I have to reinstall the VPN Profile almost everyday, and when it does work, the connection speeds are so slow that I have to sacrifice security over productivity and just disconnect so I can get things done. I really want love this app, but it’s in dire need of horsepower and stability. I’ll give it a go again on their next update.

ending my subscription. Edit 2 After a decade with this company, I’m ending my subscription as it no long works when it is needed. It has been months since it has protected me on an untrusted network. I’ve tried rebooting. I’ve tried deleting the VPN profile and reinstalling it. I’ve tried the two together. Nothing works. Why am I paying for something that no longer has use. For a while I’ve thought I’d look at other VPNs as there are many with a kill switch ( overcloak ). When I had found one I’d switch but I’m just out. I’m sad. This was once a solid, leading edge company. OP Certificate Expired! Worst possible time and no explanation as to how to fix Edit 1 The developer say log out and back in again. First, where on your website is this documented? More importantly, how can one do this when one is on an untrusted network without exposing ones data???? There is a simple tech fix. Contact me if you need support on that.

Long-time satisfied Cloak user. Been using Cloak for extended time. Like that it's available for Mac/iPad/iPhone. Have used Transporter occasionally when I wanted to sidestep geography or just find the fastest/closest server while traveling. But main thing I like about Cloak is the transparency of management -- what good is a VPN that you can't trust -- security/privacy is the whole point of a VPN in the first place.

Easy enough to make it practical. ...AND affordability priced. Turn it on using the app or the Settings switch and you’re good. I’ve used the Mini plan, 5 GB/month for $3, for several years and never come close to using it up except while on extended trips. I just turn it on when doing sensitive things... banking, purchases, etc. on unsecured public networks. Try the free two week test and see if you don’t find it to be just what you’ve been looking for. Sure, there are free VPN options, but there’s usually a reason something is available 'free'...

Love zfgbhyfd ffbhbhjyfe fcxvhjyddwd. I’d tell you the title of this review but it’s encrypted. But I do love your software. It makes using vpn a cinch. I can connect automatically when I need to and disconnect when I’m in trusted networks. What more do you need? And the price is right. The only thing else to do is to encrypt all the data I send over the net. But that’s just advrfdhhyfddbhybbd. Right?

Brilliantly Easy. One of the larger issues with folks picking up and using a VPN service is ease of use → in comes Encrypt me with flawless execution. It's so simple yet so helpful → I installed it on my children ipads and wifes iphone. Why not → the net is becoming a very Snoop-ish place. More privacy is not a nice to have its ovr right → or at least it used to be.

Better. Still drops over time. Hand to reinstall, too. 20 to 50 minutes tends to drop & have to reestablish new connection. frustrating. Please fix this! It’s unstable on all of my devices! Have had to also uninstall and reinstall. “Update settings” just dropped me out. Had cloak for many years, btw. Sometimes great, some updates not so much. But this is consistent issue with this version of encryptme. I’ve stuck with the evolution, but...

It’s a great concept, but.... I love the concept behind this app, but it’s too unstable. I get frequent hangs where my wi-fi just stops working. In the past I would simply open the app and toggle the VPN off and then on again. But lately even that doesn’t work. I had to delete the app to get reliable internet connections on 4 different iOS devices. Too bad. I can not recommend this app.

Terrible since switch from cloak. This was the most usable VPN but it’s been nothing but problems since the switch from cloak (the former app). I’ve had to delete and reinstall twice. On a business trip it even interfered with my wireless. Until I deleted it I had difficulty using my phone for basic things like maps and messaging. The app has also logged me out at inopportune times, so I’ll be in a place where I need vpn and suddenly don’t have it. Part of the problem may be iOS updates. If this is the best VPN and it’s too burdensome for a power user to deal with, that means that VPN is too complicated for normal users. As someone who works on privacy and security issues this is a bummer.

Easy to use. I have this service included on my Eero Plus subscription and I think it provides great value. I’ve always wondered the security on public WiFi and have always thought twice in using one. Now I don’t have to worry as I have my own VPN service with me every time I connect.

I like have having un/trusted networks. I got this through the Eero Plus program, and like it much better than my previous VPN, VPN Unlimited. The app lets you distinguish between trusted and untrusted networks (even cellular), so it doesn’t slow things down when you’re on a trusted network. I also prefer getting my VPN service though a US (rather than Ukrainian) company. Some apps get confused when I move from one network to another with VPN enabled, but a quick toggle off and back on in the app fixes it.

For some strange I mean strange reason.. For some strange I mean strange reason. Every single time I go to send a text message the vpn shuts of & then text goes through then the vpn turns back on. That is concerning to say the least. Oh well I just wished they would pay my phone bill if they are going to manipulate my phone settings & intercept my text messages. On a good note. That must mean the vpn does actually work. Yep just major security issues with this vpn. What can be done. Why is my vpn disengaging when I send a text message. There should be answers here fellas ? Good protection for public networks. This does a fine job of keeping your interchanges safe when you're using a public network, like the ones you'll encounter in an airport, a hotel, or a coffee shop. The ability to present an IP address from some useful geographic area will often (but not always) allow you to make use of services which you've legitimately paid for, but to which access is limited by content distribution agreements. I never use it when I'm in my own home; I use it constantly when I travel.

Works great. The software is very easy to use, and it does what they say it will. I don’t need it all the time, so I like using the pass. I did the 7 day pass for testing and it was great. I will use it when I am on vacation. But I also wanted to let you know it is a little slower on some networks, but it’s better then being hacked.

Does exactly what it promises. Heard about this app on the cortex podcast and installed it on all my devices ready for a long trip overseas. So simple and reliable, no complaints at all - so nice to feel secure when connected to hotel or cafe wifi. Also appreciated the documentation and policy info on the website for those (like me) who are details people.

Extremely useful in public wifi places. This app found a great way to protect you before you even start exchanging data from any other app before the wifi connection is protected. Made me use public wifi again! Works on all your Apple devices for the same subscription. Good deal. Also allows you to get foreign content if the connection to the rest of the world wasn't so crappy from Oz.

Logs Traffic and DNS Leak Reveals Location & Sites Visited. Just be warned that encrypt.me logs ALL your traffic and website visits for 16 days. Being based in the USA they are obligated to hand data over to authorities. Also, your location and ISP, and websites visited are not hidden when I using this service. Do a simple DNS Leak test and see for your self. I would advise against using encrypt.me in places like China where your life depends on privacy. I raised the issue with encrypt.me and they replied “we're not really about hiding your location, as much as making public networks secure. We're a security as a service provider, meaning our focus is making untrusted public networks safe for use.” If you are like me who is not doing anything illegal but values both security and privacy then encrypt.me is not the VPN for you.

Expired certificate when I go to use, even after reinstalling. Doesn’t work. Go to use it after paying $$$ and the certificate they issue is expired. Great security management! Not!

Too expensive for yearly pass - no windows support. Needs to be alot cheaper than $130 for a year. Many good alternatives out there for $50 a year. Windows support needed please before i consider

Not quite as good as it use to be. Up till recently this app has worked well enough most of the time but it’s constantly forcing me to restart my phone or remove the app (which I don’t want to have to do as I have a yearly membership!) Please fix these issues I’ve been using the product for a few years but recently it’s proving to be a problem 😕

Best of the lot. I have been using encrypt me for a number of years now. Public wifi’s have always been a challenge, especially and shopping centres and airports. It could be coincidental or only my imagination, but recently it appears that the experimental mode has may actually have made these public wifi locations a problem of the past.

Looking good so far. I have previously used cloak before and as a service it's great. The app used to be quite buggy in previous versions but the new version is looking very good.

Variableinternet using this VPN. At least half of the time I can not access internet when VPN is turned on . It seems to work Ok in Australia the few times I have used it. However when overseas it continually lets me down it’s worse on the phone than on the iPad and I just end up turning it off and only try to use it if I need to do some banking . Generally most frustrating !!

Trial doesn't work.. It doesn't five you the thirty day trial. Looked promising, doesn't deliver.

One star for IOS. A fantastic VPN for a desktop Mac that I have been using for years but it is useless for IOS devices and every new update gets no better. It is buggy and will not work with wifi on an iPhone or iPad and barely works consistently with cellular networks. Buy it for Mac but not for phone or tablet use.

Okay but largely abandoned app, atrocious support. The app is okay when it works, but when it doesn't the support team is incredibly frustrating to deal with. They never provide solutions that solve the issue, and most of the time when you ping an existing thread they respond like it's the first time you've contacted them. I've lost count of how many times their support rep has asked me a question about something that is clearly stated in the email they're responding to. An okay app when it works, but you're on your own when it messes up. Also, it’s basically abandoned at this point, with many common features of other VPNs missing and no meaningful updates for years now.

Not great. I have been testing several iPhone proxy apps and this one did not make the cut. Spotty inconsistent speeds and worst of all it intermittently drops out without reason or warning. Unless you don't happen to notice, you are using an unprotected connection.

Cheaper is not better. I've tried cheaper solutions but Cloak is easy and dependable. I love that it just activates when I'm on a new network instead of me having to actively think about it.

Really Great. I've been using Cloak for a couple of years now and it's so good. Love that it can switch on automatically on untrusted networks. Set it and forget it. Works well for transporting to the USA for YouTube and stuff too. The only time I had a problem with it switching on by mistake on trusted networks they gave me a free upgrade to an unlimited plan for several months, and it was due to Apple's bug not theirs. Can't ask for better service than that. These guys rock!

Highly recommended. This app is easy to set up and use. The support is awesome, too. If you have any questions, they get back to you with an answer very quickly. We only need vpn a couple of times a year for a week or so at a time, so the price structure meets our needs, too.

Certificate Expired. Kept getting a Certificate Expired error after installing and had to use a different VPN on my phone for my trip.

Simple and functional.. After weighing the options of both free and paid VPN providers for Mac OS, I went with Cloak. I've been very happy with their service and really smooth OS integration on the iMac, but I couldn't have predicted how dead simple the iOS app would be. Basically just a toggle switch, with options to auto-secure the types of networks you specify. Perfect.

Can’t live without it. Invaluable when in coffee shops and travelling to stay secure.

Doesn’t work for Shaw FreeRange. Was hoping to use the Shaw FreeRange app but doesn’t work outside of Canada.

Indefinitely blocks any connection. Wi-Fi connects and is active, but when Encrypt.me tries to connect and can’t (which is often lately), it attempts to connect forever, but never does. Consequently all of your data is blocked. If you have it set to automatically connect, you can sit blissfully unaware that nobody can reach you (other than by maybe a phone call). This problem has always been there, but is much worse now.

Not what I had hoped. Had great expectations but sadly it let me down. Been trying for the last 30 minutes to get it to work. Works for a minute or two then shuts off. Quite a hassle to stop streaming (or should I say lose my stream) recliner the VPN and then start the stream again. I only hope canceling my subscription won’t be as challenging.

not sure about this service. Since installing, iPhone SE 2020 seems to have trouble locking on to work-fi. It pushes me back on data randomly. Also, listening experience to streaming audio became all glitchy & stacatto. It's like going backwards in time to those days when signals were weak & seamless internet was a hope for the future. Now it's just worse because we're supposed to be ther, but in reality sure don't seem to be.

Won’t stay connected. I don’t know how this has so many good reviews. Seems a little odd to me. I have it installed on my iOS device and my Mac and it will not stay connected at all on either of them. It keeps shutting off he wi-fi on my devices every few minutes. Not a smooth experience at all. Won’t be giving Cloak anymore of my money.

Automatic and Fast. Encrypt.me is very simple to set up and has a very clean, sleek gui that is easy to navigate. I appreciate that each setting has a brief explanation at the Setting point. I have experienced no speed hits when the VPN is active. It automatically secures me when I am away from the “trusted networks” I have approved so even though I check occasionally, it is “set it and forget it.” For me, this is a must-have security tool on my iDevices.

Works ok, but way too expensive. I find this app work fine. I just can’t justify the high price they are asking for it. Once my trial ends, I will delete the app

Great VPN service. This is an excellent service, and getting better all the time. Speeds are great, at least using CA and US servers, which I use a lot. The U.K. Connection is great too. I don't often use the rest so I don't know. I would like an notification if the vpn disconnects but I find that as long as I am using my device it does not disconnect often if at all, especially in the months recently. I have talked to the creators and find them trustworthy. You need to be able to trust your vpn provider. Read their website and I think you will agree, they know how to provide, fast, reliable vpn service.

Beware!. They log all your connections, and lie to you about the necessity of doing so.

Dead simple security app. I travel a lot for work, and having a VPN solution that auto connects when I’m on a trusted network is essential for peace of mind. Hotel WiFi, networks at other companies, anything.

Fast performance - great VPN option. Easy setup, turned it on when I got to work, connected quickly, and most importantly - (other than the vpn glyph), I could not tell it was running. No discernible impact on battery or performance.

Works for me. I see reports from my eero and Safari that hundreds of trackers are blocked, and where I live there are a lot of networks that show up in Settings. I feel much better now that I have my own VPN.

App is abandoned. Once a great VPN, the app is slowly dying. It’s not being maintained after many changes of ownership and causes more and more problems with establishing connections in different situations. I used to pay for it and now get access through an Eero subscription, but it’s really not worth it.

Hard to use. It’s difficult to use this app and contact of your company is proving almost impossible plus going online was impossible as even Costco would not pull up so each time I needed the internet I had to turn off what was supposed to allow my safety online and I’ve had a stalker for 16 plus years

Blown away.. I am an advanced user - I manage an it staff for a living. I was mentally prepared to spend a solid 5 minutes manually putting in vpn settings. Pleasantly surprised with the setup process. This app seems to just do its thing and keep my data secure.

No new version in 3 months. Was really enjoying this software but had to remove it. Even when I put my work guest network as a trusted network I had multiple connection issues. Not sure but it looks like this software was never updated for iOS 12. Maybe a new version is coming.

Completely worthless app. This app can work well (when it does). It usually doesn’t though and there in lies the problem. This my second vacation to Europe and it just won’t connect , deleting and reinstalling sometimes helps but that doesn’t work most of the time. What s time waster this app is. I hate paying money and then have to connect to an open WiFi. Do yourself a favor remove this app from your phone and never use it again. It is garbage

From 5 to Off my iPhone. I first started using Cloak this past summer. Easy to use and easy to remember and the name made sense. Then they changed the name, iOS 11 came out and connecting to WiFi was near impossible - I finally had to recently just remove it from my iPhone 6+. I do use it on my iMac when needed and at the gym on my iPad Pro 10.5. It does work fine on them and I rate it 4-5 for those devices.

Does exactly what it says. Two thumbs up, does like it says and keeps your data secure through any connection you decide to use.

Pretty good. I am on the family plan. Unlike some other VPN apps, I find it auto connects very reliably. I was surprised to see it on one time and didn’t know I was in public WiFi. 3 stars off for their logging and privacy policy though. I’m not doing anything I shouldn’t on the Internet, but I still would prefer my activity not be logged for and indefinite amount of time. (2 weeks ish)

so far so good. Works fine. Solid. Occasionally getting it to start a VPN connection requires a couple if tries, but not often. Seems good after trying it for 5 days so I went with the year subscription.

Love it. Should have kept the Cloak name, though.. Read their entire website. They go a long way to provide detail around the way they’ve developed their product, what it does and what it doesn’t. I’m really happy with the ease of use of this app. Generally, it just works.

Easy to use. Good speed.. Great easy to use vpn for phone and pc. My only complaint is that when you select fastest available relay that it does not show you what city it is using.

Night and day. It was like night and day the moment I turned the VPN on- but then it only took the hacker 4 days to shut wifi down and turn my VPN off - I found my remote was still on - turned that off and all is well again!

Buggy. Can’t turn off Encryption. I really enjoy the service on my laptop. However, I continually have issues with trusted networks on iOS. The app always forces encryption. I believe this is causing connection issues as I always need to turn off WiFi.

Prevents my phone from using cellular data. Works great when on Wi-Fi, but prevents cellular data from working at all. I have to completely uninstall the VPN capability from my iPhone’s settings to get data to work again (AT&T). I will start using the VPN again if and when this gets fixed.

No Complaints!. Very easy to use. I like the auto-encrypt function for unknown WiFi networks. The speed is pretty good, too. There is some loss in speed, but not as much as other VPNs I have used.

Former user now having difficulty. This vpn worked well for me a couple of years ago when I was traveling in Europe. I signed on again today, and it kept crashing every time I followed the prompt to update. Hopefully this glitch will be quickly fixed.

Not so good anymore. This used to be a trouble free VPN. Since the latest update it struggles to connect to unsecured WiFi and I often have to reinstall the profile. I will switch to another service when my subscription expires in the next few months if this doesn’t get fixed. I’m getting constant connection failures because the VPN can’t seem to recognize that I’m connected to a WiFi network.

Slow and Buggy. Download speed cut to half and upload speed cut 5 fold when using in best connection mode. Tech support said to use closest site for maximum speed. Implementing this suggestion led to even slower speeds and frequent failures to Cunene the along with freezes/loss of internet connection to device. App hasn’t been updated in a year.

Cloak Review. I like this app but sometimes it a bit glitchy. Also when you have your phone on wifi and the screen is locked, the app disconnects. This is not good especially when update are being performed in the background, or backups are occurring.

It’s okay.. I get this via a subscription through eero. As a matter of fact, it is the primary reason I get the eero plus subscription. It is okay. It works. Google frequently doesn’t like me searching through it. At least it isn’t a cheesy one stealing all my data. I think.

Good until it's not. Majority of the time the app will connect quickly and reliably for me. But for several app versions now, there is a chronic issue where it has trouble connecting right around the monthly day my credit card gets charged. When it happens, the app gets stuck in a loop where it connects and disconnects repeatedly for hours.

Great!. Really easy and user friendly. Keep your data away from hackers and advertisers. I think this is a must have, especially if you travel or use public WiFi.

FIVE STARS. As a private detective currently involved in fieldwork: I can attest to the fact that my IPA is completely hidden. Enabling Cloak has made my life simpler and SAFER. The word “VPN” iPhone status bar. After the last two iOS updates the word “VPN” does not display on status bar when EncryptMe is active and connected. Please fix. Other than that 5 stars for the app!

Great VPN. I like that this VPN allows me to choose automatically secure! I highly recommend getting the family plan so that you can use it with everyone in your family.

Frustrating. Doesn’t respond to manual overrides to turn off encryption nor does turning off auto join or trusting a network always work. Can’t see how much data is left in your plan. Often have to log in again and again on the same device.

I like the mini plan. The smallest plan works for me most months but I have the option to ad more data if I need to. The speed is good too. Never had an issue so I give it 5 stars.

Best VPN I've tried. I've been using Cloak on my Mac and iOS devices for a year now when I travel or use a coffee shop's wifi. In this day and age is as essential as a password manager or Touch ID. Cloak is the most usable, best performing VPN I've used. I recommend it to everyone I know.

Works great on desktop, buggy on mobile. I’m experiencing the same thing everyone else is. It’ll work fine for a while then not be able to connect. Usually just rebooting my phone works but I’d have to do it multiple times a day so I find myself just disconnecting from WiFi. If you’re looking for a VPN primarily for mobile, look elsewhere.

Doesn’t recognize trusted networks. Encrypt me seems to do its job, but often doesn’t recognize my home network even though I have entered it as a trusted network. Says that a network is found but can’t determine the name.

Needs update. Very good VPN, which I’ve used years ago but have used others more recently. Now that I have the subscription again, I’m hoping that they’ll keep it up-to-date as I don’t see an update for a year. Please update this version as soon as possible.
