It’s a good app could be better. I got this app because my own remote wasn’t working at first I’d give it 5 stars and for awhile it was doing great until recently it would take so long for the remote to connect to my tv and wouldn’t connect at all I know people would say well it’s probably your wifi but that’s not the issue In this situation my wifi is fine so I got kinda upset and found 6 more apps just like it and they all don’t work but now the remote will connect sometimes and half the time I have to delete it and re download it it’s just I’m amazed how it won’t connect like when I connect my Ps5 to my wifi is says I have a strong connection but still won’t connect

Worked twice and.... I got this because I mis place my control a lot but I used this control twice and then it made me pay for it to continue using it. When I paid for it, it worked once more and then it just stop. Can I get my refund for my 4 dollars since your app doesn’t actually work

Ehhhh. “Ehhhh” is my exact thought about this app. I have not bought the app, I just have the free version because you would think that it would still work properly. You guessed wrong, if you get an ad then you can’t use any button unless you close it out and reopen. When you reopen, it makes you select a tv. Now in my house I am the only one with a smart tv so why can’t it just automatically connect to my phone and bring me straight to the remote. My S/O bought the other version and said he still gets ads, it still freezes up after an ad, and paying for it just meant he received a remote that looks a little different. You are a multi million dollar company, do better. Overall, it gets the job done but you have to be patient while working with it.

It works but. It works but I had to watch 4 ads before finding a movie on prime to watch the ok button triggers a add you can press all other buttons no add select the ok button instant add good luck searching for anything in search bar on your tv each letter you hit ok on you have to watch a add once you watch one you can press it once or twice before it pops another Other than that the app is great I’d give 5 stars if I only had to watch one add each time I opened the app or used it would be better

Worth the money. I downloaded the app because I keep misplacing the original remote and I also wanted a keyboard for searching titles on various streaming services. Unfortunately, the keyboard only works with LG’s web browser. However, having a track pad makes it easier to use the on screen keyboard for streaming apps. This app uses your WiFi (make sure it’s the same network) to connect to your TV of choice. The one thing I don’t like about this app is it can take some time to connect to the tv. This gets really annoying especially when your phone locks & you have to reconnect again. That said, I ended up getting the pro version because I know a pack of AA batteries cost more than the app. It also unlocks the keyboard & track pad functions. I recommend it.

Good but has problems. Switching from a fire tv to an LG smart I knew would be a struggle as they were different OS’s. The TVs are different but learning that is easy. The remote apps on the other hand is frustrating to say the least. Why have a keyboard if it doesn’t work on anything? I spent $4 to get the keypad, and it doesn’t even work for anything. It connects but will not let me turn up the volume or navigate to any apps. When it does work, it is great. But those few glitches stop it from being a 5 star review

Works perfectly. Installed and tested on the free version and it worked fine. Purchased the upgrade and it seemed as if I was stuck on the screen with the the least functionality (the screen with home button, fast forward, rewind, and the four colored buttons). I then realized that at the bottom of that screen (kinda looks dark grey) works like a mouse pad and I could see a cursor moving on my tv screen. Each time I swiped to get back to the other screens, keypad and volume controls it wouldn’t work because I was swiping in this pad area. So I swiped at the top of the page just above the function keys and it worked perfect. Once you figure out that little glitch the remote is awesome. Hope this helps out others.

Best App If You Broke Your Remote Like I Did. This is one of the better tv remote apps. I don’t have premium so it gives me a lot of ads but, all tv remote apps have ads if you don’t get premium anyways. This app lets you actually switch the apps on your tv, go to settings, and adjust your volume; On other apps they make you get premium to do any of that! So, yes in my opinion this is the best tv remote app to get if you’re not planning on getting premium.

Worthless app. I bought this app because I lost my remote, ever since it has been horrible. Always takes forever to connect, then when I finally get it to connect and I get the show/movie I want and turn off my phone, it does the same thing. Also when I’m connected to my wifi same as my tv, it won’t connect at all sometimes, like there’s not even a tv around, worst of all, I just updated the app and my tv is completely wiped from the app, can’t find it anywhere. This app is horrible.

Review. I like the app when it works , but my biggest complaint is that on several devices the app does not respond if you pick it up again after 20 minutes or so to change a channel or volume. You have to toggle the WiFi off and on or restart the app and sometimes a few times over to get it to work right. It happens several times a day in my case, I still use it otherwise, mainly bc my pup chewed my tv remote

Surprising actually. Works great. Installed the app 5 min ago now my house is quiet n I’m relaxed. My kids lost my remote a week ago. I finally gave in a on the third app I installed I think I found exactly what I need. Simple and reacts to tv quick. Only gripe I do have is your tv needs to be connected to internet. Obviously I couldn’t connect the WiFi because you need a remote, once I put the Ethernet chord in my tv it fired up simple in no time ! Great app

Review. Overall the functionality of the app is pretty quality. I am annoyed that initially it is a free download but to actually use the remote you have to pay 5 dollars. Is it annoying to purchase an app that works? No! Just charge from the get go. Only real complaint is that the app freezes out pretty regularly so I have to restart or refresh purchase in the settings to get it to reconfigure. Otherwise app is solid. Dog ate our actual remote so this was the cheaper replacement.

Keeps saying pin. Initially it loaded up fine. Than it it would stop working and tell me pin was wrong . I confirmed phone and tv we are on the same WiFi setting. That is not the issue. I also purchased one with keyboard. I had to reinstall it for app to reset its self. 5x. Right now it froze while it was in mid action. I sent email earlier;waiting for response

LG remote app. This remote is very good, but still fails in key areas. If I use this app and close out of it, I can’t come back to my remote if I want to change the channel or or turn the volume up for example. I have to delete this app from my iPhone’s background process, and then go back into it in order to have functionality. It’s so annoying. LG recently updated the app and yet, it’s the same business. Also, the home button control button is on a separate page from the most used control like volume and so I have to go back and forth on different pages to get the buttons I want. Thanks also super annoying. The magic remote set the bar to high LG. Please fix this app.

Stop With the Ads!. Since I paid money for this app I shouldn’t have to watch ads as well. I don’t see them on my smart phone but I do on my tablet. I guess I shouldn’t upgrade my phone anytime soon. The biggest problem with this app is that it loses connection every few minutes so if you want to pause your show or adjust the volume, you have to restart the app every time before doing so. I would still give it five stars if they would do away with the ads. I don’t mind paying more for an ad free version, but the ads need to go. Did I mention that the ads ruin this experience?

I didn’t want to pay for it once, but twice?. I’ve already purchased this app, yet it’s asking me to purchase it again. I’ve used it multiple times when we couldn’t find our remote, but when we did locate our remote I stopped using the app for a bit. I went to use it one day and it was asking me to purchase it. I’m not paying another $4 for something I already paid for, and it clearly states in my app purchases THAT I’VE PURCHASED IT! 🤷‍♀️

Stops Working. I purchased the pro version & it worked for a minute but now it won’t work. 99% of the time the app won’t open & when it does it will say it’s searching for the device. I’ve waited for more than 30 minutes trying to “search” for my device with my phone right by the the tv & it still won’t work. I thought maybe deleting the app & downloading it again will help but it doesn’t. The app will randomly start work when it wants. My significant other has the same app on his phone & his won’t even open. I am still trying to connect to my LG tv. I would not recommend this app or pay for the pro version, it’s not worth the money!

Very good app. I recommend it, it is one of the few app that is honestly very good I give it 5 stars because I think it is magnificent, it is very useful I feel very satisfied with what smartify offers 👏👏👌👌❤️❤️ there are many people who are never satisfied with anything are never satisfied, we should be grateful for making our lives easier

Contradictory. I got this app because my dog ate my remote. It was useful- when the TV was already on. It takes forever to load. When it does load and I use the remote how I please, then my phone off and back on, it has to load all over again! And when the TV is off, there is no way to turn it on because it won’t connect with the TV when it’s off! How is this app supposed to work when you still need the help of the remote to turn the tv on for you?! It’s so contradictory! The app works fine when I’m using it when the tv is on but only when it’s already on. Please fix this.

Purchasing Again before Subscription expires?!. At first the app worked just fine. But after about three months from purchasing the one year subscription it stopped working. ( I subscribed November 2022, it expires November 2023) It started playing ads again like during the free trial period. Now it’s asking me to subscribe again?! I paid for one full year to only get three months of it working. I will say when it did work I had no issues at all. It never crashed, froze, etc. it worked great. I’m always losing my remote so I was happy to find this app, now super disappointed to be cheated out of my whole subscription!!!

Could be better if..... At first I couldn’t get my iPhone to connect. I was connecting to the same router, but it turned out that it wasn’t the same broadcasting channel. My router broadcasts in 2 bands. That may be what the other people that couldn’t connect were experiencing. Haven’t tried connecting with the TV hard wired to the router. Once connected it works fine except..... I want to know how much Final Fantasy is paying these guys to throw their ad up in your face every 60 seconds. For the app to be useful, you must buy it. At least let us use it enough so we can decide whether we like it or not. I do know that I don’t want Final Fantasy.

Does the job. I’ve been using the app for about a year now ever since i broke my remote. It works fine but with minor issues. First there is no way to turn on the tv without having to do it manually from the tv button. Second if u minimize the app and go to another app on your phone and then go back to the remote app it loses its connection with the tv. You have to turn off the app and restart to get the connection back

ADs and Pro Edition.. This is an app meant for a TV you spent a couple hundred dollars for. There is absolutely NO REASON there should be ADs popping up when you press the home button to switch to Netflix NOR should there be a reason that I have to pay extra for features that come with the TV remote. No, this app isn’t necessary for me to have, so some could argue that this is what you should expect when you could easily just use your remote control. You’re not wrong but this is beyond stupid. This isnt a game, it’s a utility. Have some respect for the people who are using it.

Best remote for some time. Only flaw may be have to swipe left to get to home (middle screen) but definitely helped me out with dog eating remote power button of all buttons.. and to crunch numbers $$. And for little ones too I’m thankful. Ty Smartify: this had been the best since mid January. Apps Come out all of the time but I’d ratHer not since this app genuinely Works before I get my new remote.

Amazing but. Ok so its amazing and i love it but once when i came to open the app it Took so long it did not connect it was a taking a while and it still did not work only my husband phone works for Smartify but he always at work so my kids are just walking around and being bored with no Tv ok thanks for reading this I appreciate it Bye.

Complaint. It’s good, which is why I rated a 5 but this morning when I tried to go on the app and use it it just kept loading even though the internet was fully connected and running just fine and I was even in my room where the LG tv was, please help me I even reset my phone turned it on and off and even tried to delete the app and re-enstall it please help me

Could be great, just falls short. Downloaded this app after my two kids managed to make our old tv remote completely disappear from he face of the earth. Was hoping to not have to buy an expensive replace or a cheap universal one but found this smart app. The connectivity of it asked like a nice feature and for what it’s worth the first time I opened it seemed to work fine. Used it for an evening and got quickly tired of the ads so paid for the full app. Literally the next day it started giving me a ton of trouble, random crashing in the app, 15 mins to connect to the tv while it’s syncing on starts, and the most common error is it will “successfully connect” and not show any of the remote interfaces like it can’t load them. Tried updating and reinstalling with same results. Essentially now if i open the app, I can expect to have to restart that app 5-6 times during use. Another fun thing is if it’s connected, and you are watching something but just leave the app open and put your phone to sleep, when you need to use it and turn it back on it does just go back to working. Cycle sync icon for 2-3 mins and then crash. It’s basically now something I spent money on that will sit useless in a folder on my phone. I’m giving it two stars because I saw it working well at start and would love if it was consistent. Guess who’s just buying a universal from Walmart now?

Worked well to start, now intermittent. I was pretty impressed at first. Worked well on demand (long as you catch the right screen), ads were manageable. But now after a few months it’s intermittently inop on any screen. Except the one asking for a scrip of course. Could be a wifi issue, hard to tell. But if the subscription function works all the other screens/keypads should too.

It’s ok. Update from my previous review! I found in the app I needed to restore where I paid for the non commercials which was quick it works fine now and no commercials !!! 🙌 Worked alright after I paid for it but now a year later even though I paid for it there’s ads popping up which was the point of paying for it in the first place and I always have to completely restart the app on my iPhone if I go on another app.

Awesome app design. I really love the app design. Overall experience is awesome. Totally worth buying. The only thing I dislike is that the app is getting the list of all tv applications, even system and hidden ones. I’d really LOVE to see some kind of option to only show visible at TV’s home applications, or at least an option to manually hide unwanted apps.

Don’t buy this app they stealing money!!!. Everyone n anyone who’s looking for lg app on iPhones don’t bother with this app they stole money from me so either fix the problem with this app or my review stays the same !! I purchased this app and it was fine for one whole day the next day it’s just a blank it won’t work at all I tried everything by deleting it n reinstalling it it’s the same thing it won’t work so yes this app is a scammer !!!

THE BEST🏆. This is the best remote app available right now. It’s simple and easy to use. The buttons are large enough that I don’t need to put my glasses on just to change the channel. My regular tv remote died and the store bought replacement was horrible. I took a chance and tried a remote app and that was the best idea ever. I did try a few other apps and was at best unimpressed. This was the best decision.

The only one that works. I tried a few hundred of the apps and none of them worked until I found this one it works like a charm but you have to turn on the tv for it to work but you should have a button on the side or the bottom of your tv but it is super easy to set up and use so if you lost your remote use this app but it only works with smart tv so that is a down side but I have a smart tv

Needs Improvement. It’s so handy when you need it most and it decides to finally work without giving you problems. The ads are so annoying after each button you click though. Sometimes it won’t connect to the TV at all. All the other TVs in the house will pop up in the list besides the ONE TV your actually trying to use it for. The app is bipolar, it works when it wants to. Definitely needs lots of improvement

Awful!. I got the app because my smart magic remote stopped working. Thought I’d be able to access the TV this way. As soon as it turned on I push the button and all of a sudden it was a static screen. Googled the problem and saw this push the button and then it turned black. In between every single tap on the button I got an advertisement which I had to wait between 10 15 seconds before I could go on and use the remote. The advertising was the most annoying part of this and therefore I deleted the app from my phone. It’s the worst app ever. Never put advertisements in the middle of using a remote.

Fine for a day or two. If your remote breaks, and you need a temporary replacement until you buy a new one, this app will do the bare minimum for you. It has its issues, but that’s to be expected when it’s free. - If the TV is off, you have to manually turn on your TV before the app will work. To be clear, it absolutely finds your tv when the tv is off, it just won’t let you control it. - Ads on a per click basis it seems like? Around every 5-10 clicks, you get an ad that you can skip after about 5 seconds - If you don’t keep the app open, and your phone unlocked, the app will have to search for your TV every time you open it up, then the buttons won’t work until you swipe to different buttons on the remote and swipe back. Like I said, it’s fine for a temporary remote, but they couldn’t pay me to use this as an actual remote for more than a couple days

Great app, a little too many ads. I use this everyday and would absolutely pay for it if it wasn’t a subscription. It’s 20 a year. The ads with the free version aren’t horrible but it gives you an ad like every 10 clicks within the app. For example if you click the channel or volume button 10 times you get an ad.

Works well. This app works well for my 60in LG tv. My kids are always losing the remote and without this app, my tv would be useless half the time. I do dislike the ads but, I know they do offer an upgraded “pay for” option which is good. If you have an LG smart tv and you lose the remote, I 10/10 would recommend this app.

I guess you get what you pay for. Our dog ate our remote, it was buy another for $50 or pay $3.99 for the app. However the app is not that responsive as it can be. I have to reopen the app a few times during a show or it will not respond when I want to change screens. If it was not so slow in responding I’d be much happier.

Awesome App.. Very user friendly... I tested this app with out pro version.. It’s way better than all other LG remote tv apps.. After 2 weeks of throughout testing.. I bought pro version with just 4$.. It’s good for me to get rid of adds nd the search option is very good in pro version.. If you need search option, it’s worth buying this pro version.. otherwise normal version is enough.. I personally felt it’s good for me, as my kid always throws my tv remote,,, and I use this app frequently...

Too many ads. I only recommend this if you lose your remote for a moment. I definitely wouldn’t rely on this app as your remote simply because of the ads. There a lot of ads & they are really long to the point where it’s just easier to refresh the app to get rid of it. You also can’t turn the tv on with this app. It will only connect if the tv is already on. This is just a decent back up. They also need to fix the rating. It’s definitely NOT 4.3 out of 5. Just look at all the other 1 star reviews. Majority of the 5 star reviews are from 2 to 3 years ago.

Not giving you guys more money. So loved this app at the beginning, not quite sure exactly what I paid when they offered the “full access” this was prior to the “pro” but anyway I made my purchase, ignored the constant glitching and having to relaunch the app anytime I put my phone down (really annoying but ok) so anyway I was fine for months then I just noticed that now since there is another “upgrade” my original purchase now comes with ads. And I mean 5-10 seconds of trying to use the frickin slow, glitching app almost to what I need to select and there it is the dam ad... honestly I made my purchase why is it that now that there is a “pro” I have to pay again or at least leave my version alone that there isn’t any pop ups or ads when I made my original purchase!

Kinda works, lots of ads, have to pay... Downloaded this app because our tv remote got packed into a box (and thrown in storage) when we were moving. It kinda works, but you have to swipe between the first 2 screens and use different buttons to play/pause (in free version, didn’t waste my money on paid because I can’t imagine it was better) the last screen was only able to be used if you paid. There are a CRAZY amount of ads. If you accidentally turned the tv up too loud you’re screwed cause you have to wait 30 secs for the ad that auto started out of nowhere to finish. I legiterally (legit/literally) deleted this app as soon as I was able to find my actual remote.

Do not buy!!. My wife has the free version on her phone and it will connect more often the the paid for version on my phone. I don’t know what’s more frustrating waiting for the commercials that are extra long on the free version, or trying to connect multiple times on the paid for one.

It's alright. It is alright, it works for my TV which is the main thing. but there is few problem. 1, there is a delay between inputs. Like 1-2 seconds before it works actually. And, sometimes my inputs don't work with a single press. 2, the ads. There are so many ads, I press two buttons to pause my video, and ad shows up everytime. 3, the back button doesn't even work for me. This made me so angry I walked half a quarter mile down the stairs to get the remote from my living room.

Good. I really do love how convenient it is and for the basic remote you don’t have to pay for a bit for the touching thingamajig remote you do you have to pay for it but besides that it’s completely free and easy to use I’ve had this app for several years, I think that I would have to do is like connect your TV to it, so yeah, I think that you should really download it

Minimal ads+Pin to connect+very reasonable pro version price=Perfect replacement for a lost remote. Downloaded this so I can have something I can use as a backup for a lost remote, this works a treat. As the title says the ads are very manageable and not at all annoying. I tried a few other remote apps and they were all badly thought out. They had me select a yes or no option on my tv before I could use it, how in the world I was supposed to do that without the original remote I don’t know. Finally, to upgrade all I need to do is fork over 4 measly bucks. In short, pretty good app so far and definitely one I’ll keep around just incase I lose my actual remote again.

Tremendous 3rd Party App. Having spent over $60 for physical replacements upon losing my LG remote twice, I was thrilled to find this tremendous app that, for $3.99, offers the same functionality, can be re downloaded at will, and leaves my girlfriend and I with on less remote to search for in the apartment. Application UI is responsive, network latency in my experience is sub-300ms between app and TV (though this will of course vary by user), and app updates are released regularly. Can't recommend highly enough for LG TV smart tv users.

So many ads 👺. Nice remote…but this app is riddled with ads. The app connects to my LG Smart TV well but sometimes after I press a button an ad pops up, and I have to wait a while for the ad to end so I can continue to use the remote. It becomes irritating 👺after a while and I can’t really browse as quick🏃🏾‍♀️💨as I want to. However, it’s not really that big of a problem for me but for others it might be. Just a heads up for ya 💃🏾🕴🏾Also, I refuse to pay $20 a year for the ✨premium✨ version of this app, since I’m using this as a backup remote. But, again, this is just my overall view of this app, the basic features work well though 🙂. It’ll have to do 🥲.

Very good but there’s one problem. Very good app but there’s only one problem. Everything works excellent, but when for some reason you exit the app and wanna use it again to change the channel, or turn off the tv, or whatever, it freezes and you need to press buttons randomly as it happens when you have a control that doesn’t work well and you punch it with the hand until works. They need to fix that.

Free version useless. Pointless to download free version. Flip through the three screens without actually using the app and it directs you to the store. Cannot go back to try it out. Why bother having a free version to try.

It works but get a new remote. Most features you have to pay for, it’s clunky with high latency, barely ever wants to connect. Just spend the $40 on a new remote and save the months on your lifespan

Add pop ups are sooooo annoying!. Every time I try and use the remote app an add pops up and forces me to wait to continue using the remote function. Super annoying. Just go out and buy a universal remote. Way less painful.

Doesn’t load. The app doesn’t always work having to go in and out of it up the 5 times before it will connect.

Rubbish. Downloaded the app and I cannot use the remote at all. Any button I press a pop up for premium comes up and I can’t use it. Waste of time.

Ads. Was great and quick and effortless but then I got ads every time i use a button and have to spend money to get good perks for a tv I paid 2000

Works great when it’s connected. The app seems to timeout after a while and becomes unresponsive to tapping on the buttons, unless you completely close the app (from multi task) and start it again. Apart from that, the control options and response of the TV when you use the app is good.

Garbage. I paid for the pro version and this app is the worst piece of garbage I’ve ever purchased. It freezes , loses connection every time you change screens on your mobile device. When it connects you have to scroll sideways to another screen to connect. Worst app ever

Needs fixing. The app works perfect with the full version until you lock your iPhone and then unlock to use app again.. You need to close the app and re open each time in order to get any response which is not very user friendly Please fix this issue or I will request my payment back

THE BEST REMOTE APP EVER!!!!. Hands down I recommend this app it connects instantly no trouble at all and it’s just like the magic remote! I’m so pleased with this app 100% LOVE IT!!!

Sometimes frustrating. Would be great if it did not take so long to switch between the tvs I have in the house as I have 3 lg tvs if I use app on one it takes me a few minutes if not more to disconnect to that tv and connect to another lg tvs remotes last about 6 months so I rely on this app to use my devices . The ads also are hard to close down as often the x is hidden

Paid and nothing even comes up on the screen!. I paid for this, as the TV I bought didn’t have a remote, and all I get is a completely black screen with the words “Discovered devices” at the top. No menu. Nothing! Some please contact me for a refund as this is appalling. I have the latest iOS so would have thought there’d at least be set up options! Not happy!

Works Great!. This app is great. It connects effortlessly and works really well. I ran out of batteries for my remote control and just downloaded this app and I could operate my TV right away. There is no complex setup process. Good job.

App control. I sometimes need to switch between first and second screen to unpause the tv when controlling Netflix. This is a bit clunky and not what I expect from this app

Horrific price scheme. I rarely leave reviews, but the smooth setup process of this app was quickly and COMPLETELY undermined by the display of an ad between every other interaction. The only way around this, it seems, is to spend around $30 PER YEAR. This is the nickel-and-dime micro-transaction fuelled dystopia I feared would come 20 years from now. This should be a one-off $8 purchase. Until that happens, download literally any other remote app.

Faulty. Faulty constantly freezes and becomes unusable regardless of whether it’s the free version or paid version - extremely disappointing

Do not bother. The set up is easy I’ll say that. However, unless you pay for premium you have pop up ads every time you go to use it and then gaming ads you have to sit through. Absolute waste. Don’t use

Lacks effective Keyboard. One cannot interact with a browser. So this app does not replace the wireless keyboard if one to use internet. A minor bug that can be fixed by the developers by introducing a dedicated keyboard. Then it will be worth the money. Otherwise LG remote is super in its own!!

Lg Oled remote. The Smartify app works very well. My Magic Remote function has died in the tv, yet the app works. Great.

Life’s Good. Very reliable and resourceful app. I no longer need to look for my TVs remote controller. Only issue is that sometimes the response time isn’t working properly, I later found out you can adjust the touch screen sensitivity that will fix the above issue.

Usual Garbage. I think app developers should give a free trial on all apps before we have to pay and find out. The LG app which is the television Zi have it’s not worth even a mention this app finally connected to one of tv’s and it seem to work fine, however from the get go every time you press for a command a rather lengthy ad appears and you cannot do anything else during this time. The app worked ok but I haven’t had time to make sure I don’t waste my money, however, those ads convinced me real fast that not BABY YOUR NOT WORTH IT and deleted. Why does a remote control app need to know my actions even if it was during a trial period? So we can continue to get bombarded by useless information and useless annoying ads.

Never connects to my tv. App rarely connects to my TV, instead it tries to connect to my Google Nest carbon dioxide monitor.. When it does connect to my TV it is hard to use and not user friendly.

Fairly decent. App works as advertised, I’m quite happy except that when you switch apps or lock your device you must kill the app and restart it otherwise it will not work. Even just automatically reconnecting when the app is opened would make this app much better

Public display setting on webOS tv which is ruined my tv. Ruined all software on my LG TV , by curiosity I open installation setting a window on tv opened was called public display setting,after that setting menu has been gereyed out now remote Control is a blue turn on/off also all the App gone no home menu ( smart hub ) even their remote doesn’t pair anymore , I asked them for help they said is bug ! They are lazy to explain how to access to the public display setting on webOS tv again. My suggestion is do not download neither do not purchase it ! I would give them zero star!

4/5. The app itself is great, occasionally buttons are missed but not too often. Most ads aren’t too bad, but a few do get very annoying when a 30 sec game ad pops up while you are just trying to type something in a search bar.

Doesn’t work half the time. What does work well is the advertisements they pop up when clicking on one of the remote buttons. It’s great when you want to change the volume and first must wait 30 seconds for an ad to complete. Regardless of ads though, a majority of the time when your phone’s screen lock engages and you unlock to use the remote again, the remote doesn't work. An app reboot is required to start using it again. Not sure how Apple allowed this app to pass quality control.

Pro version is per Device. I purchased the Pro version and it was working fine but after I changed to new device, my Pro purchase not there anymore. I guess this Pro version is per Device, it does not link per your Apple ID.

Great. I think this app is super super great I give it a five star because it works perfectly just like a normal control away so if your controller doesn’t work or if you lost the controller and you can’t buy another one just use this app it’s perfect if you have an LG TV

Don’t fix something that’s not broken. At first this app was awesome, then they changed the whole UI and made the app completely worse. When i open it up it works then when i switch to another app, then i come back to this app it doesn’t work. It happens on my iPad as well. This app is completely useless. I forgot to mention, i paid for this app and now it’s broken, thank goodness Apple refunded me. Also decided better off just getting a remote, thanks for ruining something that was awesome.

Bought when lost remote. Who needs a remote anymore... when you know we have our phones almost attached to our bodies everywhere we go. Only thing to keep in mind is that it only works when TV is on, therefore you can’t turn on TV with app.

Scam - in app purchase is required. Zero functionality unless you purchase the pro version. Touching any part of the screen for any reason creates a pop up telling you to buy the pro version for increased functionality. Do t waste you time or money on any LG remote app. Their other app disconnects every time you leave the remote screen, so you can look for to repairing your device pretty much every time you want to use. All this brought to you by the company who was found guilty of using TV’s to spy on their customers.

Horrible. It keeps dropping my tv and I have to Delete and redownload it. Tv keeps constantly dropping the network but even when it’s online the app keeps dropping off my devices. Worked great at first and then after the update it didn’t. I checked software on my tv, my phone and everything is up to date

DOESNT WORK AT ALL. Trust me 9/10 times app is opened it doesn’t work. Nothing u can do to fix. Reinstalled, Wi-Fi, closed and opened.. I have no remote and use this. Literally if the remote works for u. You should go buy a lottery ticket immediately after. I’ve had the app for months and try to use it everyday. Maybe works one time once a week. Shout out to LG for putting one button on my TV. Super convenient. Pin to connect. After the last update it requires you to type a pin in to connect to tv which can get annoying quick ! I have to type it in multiple times a day . If I go to the store type it in , go outside type it in , go to work type it in, kids use there phones type it in ! It was better before when all you needed was to be on the same WiFi connection and that was it and I’m on the paid version.

Useless in free U: paid is buggy. Update: since the LG app has connection issues if you use lan I said screw it and gave this a try. Sure enough, the keyboard entry is worthless. It just dumps gibberish in. No wonder it's hidden in the paid section. At least add a trial period of you're going to pack so many ads with non functioning close buttons on an app that fails to reconnect after getting back from the spam pop up. Seriously, might be the best app ever, but if I can't even test it to see if it's buggy, I'm out.

Keeps freezing up. The free version worked great and then I couldn’t change remote options. So I paid for pro. It worked for a week maybe and now having the same issues. I’d really like for this app to work like it did when it was free and the first 6 months I had it. Frustrating.

Convenient but buggy. It would be an awesome app if it worked all the time... We are constantly losing our remote, but this is great because our phone is already with us. However, if I go to another app, i cannot come back and be able to control the tv because it won’t show up, so I have to completely shut it down and bring the app back up. A lot of the time that doesn’t even work.

Ridiculous. You have to pay for basic functions like forward, rewind, and play. I can understand to pay for more advanced functions like the touchpad and apps buttons but, come on that’s just greedy. Especially when I have to watch an ad every time I try to turn up the volume and if I go to another app I have to force closed this app and reopen, reconnect, watch an ad just to adjust the volume or change the channel.

Another stupid app to pay. You literally have to pay to use the entire app. Why didn’t the app ask me to pay before downloading? It’s like your getting 0% of the features until you pay the goofy subscription which gives you 100% of the features. This app is a waste of my time. The company behind this app is stupid. Why pay in the app if you could just pay before downloading.

It works if you have the patience. This remote is slow to respond when you open it. It has 3 different screens. Some work and some don’t. You have to swipe back and forth to get it to work. After 1 year they put ads in, , so you have to repurchase the app again. No thanks! Having a 3 year old cry to watch “Shaun the Sheep” and having to wait to go through ads to change what we are watching is super frustrating!

Worth paying for full app. I’m a new mom and bought the full version of this for my Lg tv because I don’t always have access to the remotes while I’m busy or have my hands full. The functionality is great, never lags, and is overall a great app.

Better than nothing but there must be something better. Loses connection and I have to force quit app, re launch it, then control my TV. This happens about 25% of the time I try to use it. Could be TVs fault maybe, but if so app should try to detect and reconnect by itself. Haven’t had time to try any others yet. Other than that, works pretty well. Wish it had a keyboard for inputting into the TV’s apps like YouTube/Netflix, although I have no idea if the LG TV API supports that.

Smart Remote, No Show. This app was working good until I decided to pay for the Pro option. Big mistake! Now when opening app the remote does not come as it doesn’t connect to my LG smart tv. It was working fine when it had ads on it. I’m very disappointed.

Works perfectly!. Dunno why people are saying they have to pay to connect. Just close the screen that shows the premium options. Works like a charm! There are 3 different remotes you can use, just swipe the screen to the left.

No power. This app doesn’t power on my LG tv so the rest of the app is worthless without it being able to power on the TV. The pairing doesn’t remain stable between power cycles of the TV. The other reason for 1 star is the full screen ads that came up within the first 5 minutes of using the app. Another reason for 1 star is the deception of the $3.99 pro in-app purchase is actually a yearly subscription for $20. No TV remote app is worth $20 per year unless this app can cook for me which it cannot.

Overbearing ads. I understand free content need to have ads but the ads in this are ridiculous. I can’t even use the remote properly because of them, they are about 30 seconds long with no skip after a period of time and they pop up about every 60 seconds. By the time I finally select a movie or show I can’t even skip the intro credits because another ad pops up and usually takes longer to watch the ad instead of the intro.

Best remote app. I highly recommend this remote no doubt but only one issue if I exit out the app it won’t work to the tv unless I refresh the app other than that this app really work 😎

Purchased Pro Not Worth it. First off. The ads are bonkers when trying to use the free version. So well played on forcing me to buy the pro after my remote died. But this isnt a viable alternative to a remote. You can’t use it unless the tv is on, which renders it useless as a remote. Also the keys are all to often unresponsive if you want to use your phone for anything else and switch back to the remote. Overall it’s just not good. Awaiting a new remote in the mail. This was a waste of $4.17.

Pretty darn good but not perfect. The only thing stopping the five stars is the in app commercials that stop me from using the TV. I also wish the inputs vs the tv actions was a little faster/instantaneous but I don’t know how realistic that is. All in all, it is exactly what I need when my kids lose the remote for the 100th time.

Had to find my real remote.. I spent money on this app and I’m irritated. I’ve had it for a couple of months now, it was working about 75% of the time when I first downloaded it. Now, it NEVER works. I had to search my house high and low to find my lost remote. It doesn’t have a back, there’s gum stuck between some of the numbers (kids are great), and one of the springs is janky. It’s still more reliable than this app. Do yourself a favor and don’t download this crap. Seriously.

Ads manageable. This app seems to be the only one with manageable ads. EXCEPT for the Credit Karma ad! It is thee most pesty ad that is hard to close! Other than that. It’s the best remote app I’ve had so far. Please do something about the credit Karma ad! If it wasn’t there, I would have given 5 stars

Works well. Holds connection with tv. I wanted an app that can “remember” my tv so I can change the volume. Nothing fancier than that. The manufacturer’s native app requires that you go through the “search-and-add” tv function EVERY TIME YOU OPEN THE APP. This one simply is ready to go when you open it. 5 stars.

Satisfied when it connects. I’ve been quite happy with this performing as it should. The only issue I’ve had so far is for small periods of time it has difficulty connecting to my tv, however I will say those periods of time have become less and less frequent as time goes on. Great job 👍🏻

Won’t stop trying to connect to separate device. I have about 5 seconds when I open the app to actually use the remote before the discovery page comes up, no where to close it, always offering our streaming box. Even tried to select it but then it just wants to install another app. I know I’m not stupid. I also k ow there should be a way to cancel device discovery so I can use the remote app I’m paying for.

Awesome. It’s amazing because it helped us a lot because we didn’t have our remote because it broke, so I appreciate that they made this app to help us control what we wanted to watch on the TV. If we didn’t have this we wouldn’t been able to watch TV

Locking screen means needing to relaunch. This app works great but if my phone locks or if I switch apps and then come back to Smartify I need to close and relaunch the app in order for any of the controls to work. Super annoying and will probably just get a real replacement remote soon.

Paid for ad-free full app, now they want a subscription. I started using this app around 4-5 years ago. I thought it was great but the ads were horrid. I bought the full version.. Now I get a pop up everytime I connect to the tv because you want me to pay for a subscription? Is this some kind of a joke? I can buy a $15 TV remote.. why would I pay you a subscription fee? All these app developers need to give their head a shake.

Ads. This remote works good and has a good reaction time. What I do not like is the amount of ads that play everything 5-6 clicks of the “select button”. The ads are usually skippable after a certain time frame but they are too constant. Every show I click on the app plays an ad.

LGs big “I don’t care” to their consumer. This app plays ads after every few clicks. I can’t think of a bigger way for them to say I don’t care about my customer than by having the customer purchase an expensive TV and then say here is an easy to use app as a back up remote but we’re gonna make you watch a Videos and ads to use it on top of the ads you are already seeing on your screen. Dear LG, think about your consumer.

Ok but occasionally freezes. Does a good job most of the time. App will occasionally freeze/get bugged on the 2nd page remote that requires you to buy up of you click literally anything on that page. At which point you must delete the app and re-install to be able to once again toggle through the 3 remove page options. When it works, it works.

Great remote app but…. I love this remote. It’s convenient and works better than the one that came with the tv. However, I paid to have this app ad free and I still get ads that are exceptionally annoying because they pause the use of the remote until you’ve watched the whole ad.

Good app, but…. Overall good app, but there is no Scroll function (or I didn’t find it), to scroll down/up in web i need to switch between remote “types” from 3 (touchpad) and 2 “standard remote” and use arrows to scroll the page. And it can turn off TV, but can’t turn it on, i don't think it’s app fault, seems it’s just can’t to turned off tv to start manipulate it. Touchpad not so smooth like on Magic remote, but anyway it’s working and can help! Very useful to use search, by typing in phone instead of clicking on letters using tv remote.

Mike. Ok acquired this ap a couple days ago. Has issues when going back and forth when using phone, tends to lock up and have to turn Ap and tv on and off for remote to work again, not a deal breaker, all this done “remotely”. Deal breaker, this am my 12 yr has misplaced remote, wow thank goodness for my newly acquired ap, wrong this ap will not work when tv is off, had to get up and either find remote or walk to tv to turn it on manually. Constant needing to restart the app. Whenever the app is running and the phone goes dark and you wake the phone up to use the app it needs to reconnect which is fine but where it fails is it shows that it connects and does not control the tv. You have to close the app then restart the app to connect again then controls the tv

Doesn’t work. I installed the app, connected my device, swiped right twice to see the different menus, and now whenever I touch the screen or any of the features it prompts me to upgrade to “expand the capabilities of this application”. I cannot swipe left back to the other menus (same prompt), I tried force closing the app (loads the same menu on the right). I’m certainly not going to upgrade to increase the functionality when it doesn’t function to begin with. Seems scammy.

The remote app that saved my life!. I lost my stupid remote, so I downloaded three different apps. This is the only one that worked. One app vibrated every time I touched it but did not control anything on my TV. The other app I needed my remote in order to install it, which makes zero sense. But then there’s this magic app! Lol. Worked perfectly but could only use once. It found all of my devices without a problem and worked really well yesterday. Today, I can’t use it unless I pay for it. Closing the upgrade screen and picking a device brings the same screen up. $3/day or $20/yr when I can buy a replacement for less than that? Hard pass.

Pretty good remote but needs an important feature. This works as intended, I bought the pro version and love it but it’s missing an important feature. I can’t add more than one TV. Also there are no widgets associated with the app so you can’t add it to your widgets tab or your Home Screen. If these features were added this would be a 5 star app.
