Best remote. I absolutely love this app. I lose my little tv remote all the time. I go to my sons the kids lose the remote I can use it for his Roku , I go visit my sister I can use it there!!! Now I don’t have to spend time looking for these remotes, especially when your little 3 year old granddaughter wants to watch a show and the other kids have lost it-again I just grab my phone. I just love it, it has never let me down!!!!

Lots of Ads at the worst moments. The remote actually works remarkably well as long as your mobil device and the Roku that you want to control is connected to the same network. The issue I have with this digital remote is the advertisements that pop up at the worst possible time such as when you are pressing over on the D-Pad or selecting something which always causes me to click on the ad and completely throws me off. I wish there was a ad free version or a way to disable them. At the very least the ads could appear after you have made your selections or after a pause in button presses. I can assure the developers that I never have and I never will purchase anything from an ad that I see in a app especially one that randomly pops up tricking or forcing me to click on it. If there was a fix to this issue I would most likely change my star rating.

Needs a little improvement. The app is good, but a few problems I don’t like. The ads in this app are a lot, and I encounter atleast 3 every 4 minutes. They really annoy me, as at the last second they start and I miss the show. The bugs make me lag out the app. This happens recently, if it is just me or everyone else. This app is overall great! Would’ve been actually a five star if these get worked on. (You only have to lower number of ads for the advertisements one.) This app helps when I lose a remote or don’t have one. Very good!

A REMOTE APP WITH ADS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. Ads will interrupt your use of the remote at the most random an frustrating times. In the middle of typing a password to log into Netflix? Yup. It will literally stop you from being able to use your tv to advertise to you a stupid game that most anyone, at any age, would never ever even consider thinking about downloading to their device. Ads are acceptable in some situations. Never, EVER on a freaking remote app. Seriously - I’m controlling a tv, watching content that’s already showing me ads and commercials. Now on top of that my REMOTE CONTROL is shoving more of these ads down my eye holes? No thank you. App deleted. Don’t use it. Maybe consider moving back to Apple TV. They don’t put ads on their remote app.

WAY to many ADs for such slow response. Absolutely disappointing and lame. The amount of ads I gave to sit through to use this remote (that have absolutely NOTHING to do with the shows / our interests) before I can even select my program.. is insulting. Roku needs a better solution to making money off their customers time (anyone still gullible and has enough time on their hands to watch that amount of crap)... because they won’t be wasting mine anymore. Everyone else can be their sucker fish.

Ad galore. This app works as it’s described and works in a pinch if you can’t find your remote. However, if you don’t pay for the premium version the amount of ads you will get that you can’t click off of until time has elapsed is truly egregious. You could be in the middle of trying to pause something or fast forward and it will give you a 10 second ad out of nowhere with a hard to find close button. This of course isn’t the worse thing in the world however it is mildly infuriating and now holds almost no value as Roku has made its own completely free app.

TCL VS OTHERS. I purchased a high dollar tv at one of the big box retail stores, when I got it home it didn’t work and you had to be a rocket scientist to operate the remote. After several hours of confusion and not knowing what to do with it, I boxed it up and took it back to point of purchase. While there I bought the same size tv a TCL brand, which they tell me is a off brand. I had out the box and hung on the wall in minutes. It has the user friendliest remote I’ve ever encountered and with a 4K UHD set, every picture is crisp, clear and just a joy to watch. If I’m the market for a new tv I highly recommend the TCL brand. You will not be disappointed. RTJ.

Why this is the best. So one day you come home really tired and you were trying to watch some TV you have a Roku and you can’t find the remote and you’re freaking out that you’re gonna have to go buy a new one. This is when this app comes in handy, all you need to do is download the app and hook it up to your device so when you lose your controller you can always use your phone but remember to charge your phone or else it will not come in handy

Ads for a tv I already paid for. Okay so let me start off and say this is great for when you lose your remote, but keep in mind it will not let you turn your tv on with this app. Your tv must already be on. Also, the app remote doesn’t always connect to your tv. Be aware that you have ads on this app even though you paid for the tv! You’d think after spending $500 plus on a tv they would make the app without ads. The ads constantly pop up and it’s impossible to even use the app with the ads. And they last like 30 seconds at a time. So after you pay to remove the ads then you can finally use the app, as long as it connects.

You should really buy this app because like if you lost your remote or if it’s like a batteries or something this can work and it’s just an amazing app and I really love it and it actually makes cleaning fun for some reason but the only problem is if you press it like a one or two buttons or maybe even three like an ad pops up and then when you press like the skip button it just it’s just so little that like it just takes you to the download this app today and it’s so annoying but otherwise this is an amazing app and like you should download it.

grr. The fact that you cannot press buttons more than a few times before an ad place is flat out ridiculous. And it almost always seems like when you need to use the remote right then and there and add please and then you missed your opportunity to be able to use the remote. sometimes an ad will play and you won’t be able to exit out of it until it has fully ran through, or you have to fully exit out of the app and turn it back on to be able to actually use it. The fact that the ads on here are so much make it to where you can hardly use a remote. I am glad that this is not the actual Roku remote if you keep looking you’ll be able to find the Roku companies version of the app and it is 10 times better I promise.

Area to Improve. Downloaded this like most others after breaking my original remote. After first downloading for free I found it quickly necessary to purchase the app because using your remote to change the channel from an advertisement, just to get another advertisement on your remote was quite annoying. The $2.00 purchase was definitely worth it. The digital remote works even better due to the fact that I now have a keyboard to type into rather than selecting characters individually. I have no issues with the remote at all, but the app would get an INSTANT FIVE STAR RATING [IF] every time you clicked a button your phone would give you haptic feedback. It’s very difficult to know what you’re pressing without getting a little vibration. Please Rokie developers, a haptic feedback option for control inputs would be highly appreciated. Thank you!

Garbage. Everything about this device and this app is pure trash. First of all the device is inexcusable slow and laggy, crashing and freezing often. At first I tried to use the remote that came with the device but it wouldn’t stay connected for more than 30 seconds. So I shelved it for a while, thinking the remote was the issue. Then recently I learned about the remote app, and I was stoked! Maybe I’ll actually get to use this thing. But I quickly realized all of the issues I was having were hardwired into the DNA of this piece of trash. Still slow, laggy, unresponsive, and prone to crashing. And the kicker? THIS APP HAS ADS. The audacity you people have to put ads on a remote control, and then ASK ME TO PAY TO REMOVE THEM is unbelievable. In conclusion, everything about Roku is a dumpster fire and whoever’s in charge should be exiled to the forbidden land. Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.

Roku remote control app 10 ✨s. I think it’s awesome to be able to download the Roku remote control on the phone at my house the remote control is always missing and is found in the most inconvenient places that takes anywhere from 5 to 15 minutes to locate the remote control and now I can just sit back and turn right to the movie I want to see without missing anything so 10 stars for the Roku remote control app on my cell phone get yours

Going back Comcast. Picture keep freezing up, picture stop goes back to home page, picture skips to another channel called AT& T complained once before picture got a little better but now disturbance is getting worse don’t want to pay Comcast price but I was satisfied with their service trying to learn AT&T will be willing to deal with it but with out the problem

Not consistent. It seems like if I stop using the remote for prolonged use, I can’t reconnect without having to turn the tv on to make it discoverable...which defeats the purpose of being able to turn it on and off with the app. I also paid the 1.99 to remove ads, but when I went to try the app on my ipad which syncs all apps (the app downloaded to my ipad when I downloaded it to my iphone); it asks for another 1.99 to remove ads and restoring my purchases didn’t work. Would appreciate these functions working because the remote is so tiny and often disappears when i’m laying in bed. When it does work, it’s great.

Works great…..except one minor and slightly Annoying thing. The Roku app remote works EXCELLENT, comes in very handy when I can’t find the remote, and/or when the remote is across the room and I’m feeling very lazy, but my phone is with in reach and I can Just open the Roku remote app , it works just like the normal remote EXCEPT ONE THING…. The ADS that pop up like when you’re using the App, I mean it’s not a HUGE deal, if I could give 4.5 stars I would cuz I don’t think just cuz 1 tiny inconvenience deserves 4/5…. So over all I give this app a 4.5/5, without the ads popping up, HANDS DOWN A 5/5

Come on.... I can not agree more that having your phone as your remote is remarkable. The problem is that every time I am doing something I get an ad. It would be better if you could skip it. Yet you can’t skip it. I sit there for 30 seconds waiting for it to end when I could already be watching my show. But don’t get me wrong, I lost my remote so this helped for 1 minute before I got an ad. I am wasting my time on this app when I could be on a different app with more features and no ads for free. Roku Remote is your best shot if you lost your remote. It even has private listening. (Not that I got the chance to see if you had it) Thanks for giving me 1 minute to use the remote.

Ads at the worst times. This app is useful because my actual, physical remote just vanished one day. However, anytime I’m in the middle of doing things a video ad will pop up. I eventually got so frustrated I was given a choice: never use my roku or buy the ad free version. After continuously messing up Bandersnatch trying to use this app with ads, I gave in and just paid the $2. The ads are seriously infuriating. But the app works well enough. So, 4/5. And please for the love of god just make banner ads instead of pop ups and videos.

It’s okay. I have an Apple TV as well, and the app for that is way better, despite being one screen. No ads, unlike this, and a message pops up on my phone when I need to type for search. Both apps are visually pleasing, and despite not liking this app, I do appreciate the channel screen and being able to go straight to another channel while being in another app. I wish the search function was as efficient as the Apple TV remote app, but I imagine it’s easier for apple since everybody with that app has an iPhone (I think). This app works fine enough if you lose your remote, but there is NO reason to use it otherwise. I use my apple remote app all the time, despite still having my remote handy. The ads on this app are ridiculous. I can barely do anything before one pops up, lasting 30 seconds to a a minute. If you want to use your phone as a remote because you think it’ll be faster, it won’t be. And honestly, if you lost your remote, just buy a new one. I get that you can pay $2 to get rid of the ads, but this shouldn’t be a problem in the first place. I already see ads on my Roku screen and I know they profit off of their products, so why do they feel the need to have ads in a remote app? It’s ludicrous!

Insane amount of ads. Someone figured out that the Roku remotes were flimsy and they made this app to help people, however, the creators of this app are greedy and money hungry. This app has an add every single time you use it. I mean every single time. Multiple 5 seconds required until you can exit the ads. These also hit you in a row. I wish the creators were better people and didn’t put so so many ads to make money off people. I appreciate the rest just the ads are actually crazy like more than any other app I’ve ever had, almost as many ads as one of those movie bootleg websites.

Get this app if you can’t find your remote. This app is absolutely awesome! I have no complaints at all and I lose my remote ALL THE TIME and if I lose it and I can’t find it I go directly to this. It’s super easy to setup the only thing you have to do is connect it to your device! That’s it! After that you’re good to go! It works amazingly and it’s not delayed either! If you can’t find your remote then go straight to this app it works just as well! I have no complaints what so ever!

The BEST app on my phone lol. I have a Teen and 2 toddlers, and until recently, the regular Roku remote was always missing. That’s the reason I downloaded this app. Upgrading to Premium was hands down the best decision ever. Being able to change apps, even when not in the room or from across the house has come in handy soooo many times. The fact that you can also change devices super quickly is also a huge plus. 🙏🏽🎉 I am forever grateful for this app, and have used it more than Social Media in the year that I have had it.

I refuse to buy add free twice!. The app works fine as long as you are connected to the same WiFi as TV. The reason for my 1 star reviews is because the “restore purchase” option doesn’t work for me. I bought this app on my old phone, and when I moved to this one the adds came back. When I try and restore my purchase nothing happens. I click the button and it might as well not be there because even though it shows I’m clicking it it doesn’t do anything. It’s extremely frustrating. I’ve emailed them about this issue and received no response. I just have to deal with the adds because I’m not paying for something again I’ve already paid for. Very frustrating.

Works but Questionable. Yes when you get down to it, it works as it should. It doesn’t bug out. The buttons work properly. It has all the functionality of a remote. It’s the advertisements that are the problem. Now ad’s on their own are annoying, but not necessarily an issue. My problem is the advertisements impede the functionality of the remote. Randomly two 5 second adds will play, taking up the entire screen, rendering the app entirely useless until you close out of them. Yes, upgrading to remove them is far lower in cost then replacing the remote. However, it’s very sneaky to design the app in a way the renders it completely useless for random intervals unless you upgrade.

Love. App is great, basic functions needed are free, my only issue is I literally have a video of my phone being connected to the tv, and the app is not turning any buttons. I doubt it has anything to do with the actual developer but they should make it so your ai can’t override their ai. I want to buy the app but I’m not cause I don’t want to pay for something that’s not gonna work when another system cheats over it,

Buy the app or deal with ads every time you watch Netflix. This app offers a paid version for an imitation of the actual Roku app. If you need to replace your remote, skip this app and download the official Roku app where they off you the same features for free. Rokie advertises itself as a free remote control for Roku TVs, when in reality they show you 2-3 ads for every 10 button clicks. I could not load a Netflix show without watching 6 ads. The app offers you an option to pay away the ads, however they practically force you to make the purchase in order to actually use the app. If the app stated that it would have blocking ads, it wouldn’t be as bad, but the app advertises itself as “free” when it blocks your phone screen with an ad as your are pressing the control buttons, effectively forcing you to visit the ad. All to prey on people looking for a remote control replacement when a free, more feature full, and more user friendly app is available and officially supported by Roku (the Roku app).

Do Not Download This App. I will say, when this app is working correctly it is a blessing. But 90% of the time I try connecting to my TV, which is on the same WiFi as my tv, it will disconnect from my television . It acts like my tv is turned off, but was connected seconds before. It usually takes 5-10 minutes to recognize the tv again. Also the lag is TERRIBLE. Absolutely atrocious. I honestly hate this app, but I have LED lights and using my remote changes the color of my lights. This app has a lot of work to do and I DO NOT think it deserves the rating it has. Also, i’ve read multiple comments complaining about the same issues where the creators of this app will comment like its the users fault. Claiming they should check their wifi and IP address, when in reality they just need to fix the issue instead of blaming their consumers. Unless you’re absolutely desperate I would not waste your time downloading this app.

Pretty good. It did not let me four star it but there shouldn’t be adds otherwise it AMAZING it works great and I like how it doesn’t cost money I really needed this app because my remote started to quit working we tried every thing so my mom was like try downloading something I looked it up and read the reviews downloaded it and started I liked it and it asked me to rate it in everything so I did and boom here I am now on the couch rating it well back to Harry Potter bye

Great. This is great because it helps work the tv if you can’t find the remote or if your remote is Broken one thing I don’t like is the adds every time I’m typing things a add just pops up even if it’s a add on the tv but there are many more things about this app the premium is a little cheap it usually works on my brother tv because his remote broke after someone bent the top of it I hop it gets some updates soon so they can take the adds off so me and my sister won’t get mad all the time that is the only reason I put a four at rate I really hope that everybody gets this app if they lost there remote or broke it it would be a good app I looked and looked for apps until I found it I was so happy thanks again Roku I love this app just pls take the adds off it’a remote pls thanks a lot a just love the app tho I just want you guys to know what I’m trying to say to the people that one day uses this app and love it

Beating a dead horse. This app works fine. Functionally it is what I needed out of a remote app. The only reason I needed this app was I have found myself with two Roku TVs and 0 remotes. TVs I paid several hundred dollars for, so you’d think Roku would have gotten their money out of me? Right? Wrong. I go to use this app and as soon as I press a function, an ad plays, preventing me from use of the remote until a 4 minute clash of clans ad stops playing. Infuriated I looked into turning the ads off, and I find I have to give Roku MORE MONEY, for the already expensive TVs I have. Hear me out Roku, I will NEVER give your company another penny! This is complete asinine, a monopoly over my home television experience. You all should be ashamed, and to all reading this, if at all possible return your Roku TV, and do not support this money hungry greedy company with no care for their consumers.

Scam!. My child downloaded this upon losing her Roku remote. She subscribed with intent to cancel. She deleted the app thinking that would cancel it. Well I have been paying for a couple weeks now. App was deleted. No usage on app. So I cancelled subscription when in noticed in the 3rd week. I requested a refund starting the app had no usage and my daughter accidentally subscribed and thought deleting the app would clear the subscription. Apple denied my refund. Please explain to me why I’m not eligible for a refund. It was an error. I didn’t use the app and they request a refund. The app was only used for 1 day through the free rush and deleted from my phone. I feel I’m eligible for a refund. A child cannot authorize a subscription. If you refund me, I’ll change this to a 5 Star Review for amazing customer support!!

DO NOT SUBSCRIBE TO ANYTHING!. I don’t even remember subscribing to this app. In fact I don’t even have it anymore and haven’t for MONTHS and it been charging my card EVERY week! I had no idea until this morning, I just so happened to check my subscriptions and see all the transactions! I would have never know and this app would have been charging my card for who knows how long! It said I purchased a dollar plan for every week but they have taken $5 out of my account at lest 12 times this year! HOW DOES THAT WORK?? If a plan is a dollar a week how do you need up charging five dollars? i HAD NO CLUE! Like I said! I had the app for a week to use on my aunts Tv while I stayed at her house. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS APP! This is why you check your subscriptions! I WANT MY MONEY BACK!

Great when it works, but that isn’t very often. I got this and paid to remove the ads to control the three rokus in our home. Recently though, it’s stopped detecting any of the TVs at all and just stays stuck trying to “discover devices”. All the Rokus are on the same wifi and they are online and work with their included remotes, so the issue is definitely the app, which at this point was just a waste of money. This used to be a more intermittent problem, only happening maybe once or twice a week and usually was easily fixed by hard closing the app. I haven’t been able to get it to detect any of the rokus for at least three days now though, and it’s causing me more frustration than it is a convenience anymore.

Great app but no ads please. This app was very useful and versatile when it came to changing channels or switching over to other Roku devices with a single button. I like this app but the only thing that kept me from giving it five stars was the ads popping up every few clicks I made. I understand it’s for business purposes for the ads but however I am not looking to find anything new or to be sold on certain things...I just wish to be able to access and use my roku devices when I please.

Device rename feature??. I love this app, it’s so smooth (I actually can’t recall it ever skipping or glitching or anything like that) and convenient... I paid for no ads and I have 0 regrets since doing so. However, I think it would be fantastic to have the ability to rename the different Roku devices connected to the same WiFi network as my phone... For instance, there are 3 different Roku Expresses at my home and it’s a mildly inconvenient guessing game until I land on the Express I’m looking for - sort of just trial and error. I’ve tried searching this app for such a feature but haven’t been able to locate it anywhere, so if there’s one thing I could improve about Rokie, I’d implement an option to rename the different devices connected to the WiFi network that one is aiming to connect to from his/her phone

Love It!. Some ppl have to change their settings/location in the iPhone App Store prior to downloading this app, as it is not available in the USA (or at least it wasn’t ~10 months ago). Any such mods are totally worth the minor inconvenience bc this app is GREAT! We have two TCL Roku televisions in our house and both are set up on this app. They show up separately via device ID in the app and I can actually control them both/separately from anywhere in my house 🤗 Thanks developers!!

Restoring purchases. Okay so the remote is awesome. But I’m not going allow you to keep making money off me. I originally purchased on my old phone. Got a new one, restored all my apps, and yours wouldn’t restore my purchase. Oh well. I paid for it again because of how awesome it works. But I open it today and literally ad after ad it’s almost unusable. And again, your ‘Restore Purchase’ button still does not work. Your not getting another $1.99 from me. I wonder how many others you’ve done this too. Seems like a scam to me. Don’t let the app milk you for money. For 9.99 you can replace your Roku remote and not have your phone in your hand all the time.

Why??. Why would ANYONE use this when there is a FREE Roku remote without annoying and intrusive ads?? I mistakenly downloaded this app when our Roku remote got a wine bath, and just needed something to get us by until a replacement arrived. I get the capitalism, but then there should be something extra offered that people find worth the money. Instead, this offers LESS than a free app from the Roku manufacturer! 😂 I couldn’t even watch, pause or search for one thing without waiting for an ad to finish spamming me. Stupid. Pass n this and get the official Roku app. Once I just wanted to turn off the TV, and had to wait for a 45 second ad to finish. Epic fail. There’s not even a voice command feature, which the FREE Roku app offers. Bye!

Worked for a day and now it rarely recognizes my tv. I lost my Roki remote so I was really hoping I could use this so I don’t have to replace the ridiculously expensive remote. When I open the app it shows my device and that it’s connecting and then it disappears and I just see a blank screen with a loading symbol at the top right of my screen. The tv and phone are connected to the same WiFi, so I can’t seem to tighten out the issue and when I tried looking up how to fix this on the Roku support page all the suggestions are involving the app which doesn't work. I’ve tried on multiple devices and have the same issue. It worked for a day or so no issues and now suddenly I’ll be in the middle of watching something and the app no longer works so I can’t pause or play the next episode on Netflix and the worst part is I can’t even select the input to go to my cable.

Love this app. This app is so good like I can control my TV from the back of my house to the front of my house and my TV is in the back of my house and like the front of my house is like all the way in front yeah and so I need to I need to like expire expire nothing about this because this is the best app I’ve ever been on in my whole life like I have like a Candy Maker like all of that and I am 18 and I really really like this app because like it’s like you have a remote but you don’t say with my mom she lost her remote.

Productive but annoying sometimes. Well the thing is there are ads Idk why this is in this app because the o my reason people are using this app is because they can’t find their remote or they are feeling a little lazy and we want to watch or Netflix without a freakin ad poping up and having to watch it for 30 seconds we want to watch are show so please improve this I know that’s how they make money but maybe not in this one 😊love this app tho!

Barely better than a real remote. I got the app as a replacement for the remote because, hey I can type on my phone! This would make searching so much easier. At least that’s what I thought… The app doesn’t quite work like that. It does give a keyboard feature but when you try to use it it doesn’t actually interface with the TV... so you still have to type by pressing left right up down select left right up down if you want a basic search. It’s harder to lose the app then the remote which is about the only bonus. I hope they improve it, otherwise I wouldn’t recommend anybody invest real money in this.

Problems.. The app is really good but there is a problem that i would like to talk about. So when i open the app and i try to like connect to my tv sometimes my tv doesn’t connect or show up for me to connect to it, and another problem is that when i click on my tv or something like that it show me something for premium and when i click the x it takes me back to where you can connect to the tvs and it’s a really big problem especially bcs i don’t need premium. But if yall could gix this problem the would be really good and amazing!

I kind of wish they were no ads the other one shot add had an ad before you even started to use it yours is the so I give you five star rating I would’ve give you three if you were with if you’re working with the other workers but you’re not so I’ll give you five you are lucky if you can reply back please do I always like reading things I don’t know why and I want to see your sponsors so respond or else I’ll give you a five star I will not give you a five star I will give you our one star rating but if you can’t I understand

Simoyah review. I love the remote controller for off my phone to the TV is so cool but the apps on it wouldn’t work. I read a three star because you know it’s not like you know it doesn’t work or anything. It just doesn’t work perfectly but for anything else like for me like turning it up or turning it down or you know pausing it and if I can’t find where I’m remote controller I always hop onto this like right now. I don’t have my remote controller My BrotherMy Brother keep losing it and you know every time we find it he loses it so you know this is why I downloaded the remote control but it doesn’t work often. It doesn’t work amazingly and I love it.

Roku Why &Why not:I. I have had a few Roku devices over the last few years . Originally I found the products reliable and user friendly and when I had issues customer service was a phone call and a five minute fix. Now days it seems things have changed, for example: if you have need for technical support, you will not find a phone number for tech-support, in fact, you will end up on the website with a technical chat advisor and before they connect you with someone that can”help” you with your technical issues you will have to provide payment information. I believe that Roku has gotten a bit greedy and buyers need to be where purchasing their television sets might limit your freedom of choice when it comes to streaming outside of your Roku subscription, which the way things are going, they’re almost pressuring you to have to use your new TV. The price for their large flat screens TV is awesome, but the catch is if you have an issue, you’re going to have to pay in order to figure it out, unless you happen to be savvy enough on your own

App is Garbage. It should be free, the ads are way too long, they could just be a ad bar that doesn’t interrupt the use. I don’t know why anyone would even pay Roku to advertise on this? It’s done in a way that only aggravates the consumer and not persuade them at all, persuasion seems to be lost entirely on modern ad execs. On top of all this the app disconnects from the receiver and has to reconnect all the time. Even when it’s connected you sometimes have to hit a button 5 times to get it to work. If you want me to purchase something make the free version worth the space on my phone first.

Great control but.... Love the UI and the capabilities. Having a keyboard makes searching for things a thousand times easier and you can change by channel without using the control portion BUT the 30 second ads are a bit much. I’m okay for ads on something that’s free, but the 30 seconds is a bit much especially when you’re in the middle of trying to use the control to switch channels. This is a clear push to get you to buy the premium version and I don’t like that. Which is the only reason I’m giving this a 3 star rating as opposed to 5.

Roku. I love this that can help me a lot when I can’t find or don’t have my remote and then I can just go to what app that is on my tv and don’t have to go looking for it also I like how you don’t have to manual put in your tv when you can just connect your tv to your phone and who ever made this is a Genius and idk about y’all but this helps me out a lot. Brilliant until last ios15.2 update. This app was brilliant. Worked for free every time. And didn’t have ads playing. BUT since the latest iOS update, it now has ads playing ALL the time so you’re waiting for ads to play before you can change a channel, which is ridiculous and defeats the use of it as an actual remote control. It also often needs the t box to be reset to pick up the wifi signal if I haven’t watched tv for a couple of days. It never used to do this either. The app is under $5 to buy, which is awesome but I’m concerned to buy it when the free version is playing up more than ever. Please fix.

YAY!!!. For some reason my Roku remote suddenly stopped working, and I wanted to watch tv, cause I had nothing better to do on Friday in quarantine. I went to the App Store and searched “Roku”. This app was the first one to pop up, I got it, luckily it was free! I connected it to my tv and it IMMEDIATELY WORKED! Now I don’t have to worry about my remote not working, if I could give this app 10 stars I would! Highly recommended!

So. Many. Ads.. decent app but every single time you click a button it feels like an ad appears. for certain things like clicking a screen that had gone dark on a video and accidentally clicking play , or opening netflix and the suggested show beginning to play after the screen sits idle , the ads on the remote are ESPECIALLY bothersome because there’s a random program playing and you literally can’t pause it for thirty seconds. other than that it’s relatively decent , the keyboard function is almost laughable but i’m not one to nitpick over minutia.

Literally just a never ending ad space. Outrageously frustrating to use. Nice user interface, but.... Understanding that revenue has to be made, I sympathize with the ads...to a degree. I’m just going to buy out of them. These are rather invasive! The design of this remote is nice mimicking the actual Roku remote design. It is pleasantly simple. Like another user stated, haptic feedback would be amazing!!! Further, on my screen, there seems to be an immense amount of wasted space when using this remote. Could the size of the remote not be enlarged a bit?

Ok. I've used this for a while now and I didn't want to upgrade to a premium since the only upside to it was no ads. No extra features seemed to be available, paying $1.99 a month was just to not have to have a 30 second ad every 3 clicks. But I needed it so I kept using it, I just discovered ROKU app though and it's the same exact thing and so far no ads. Even if there are I havnt seen any which is a huge improvement from ROKIE. So I mean if ROKIE had a better service that wasnt filled with so many ads, I definitely wouldn't have looked for a replacement.

Inappropriate. I love when I can’t find my remote I can just pull it up and control my tv, but I am constantly bothered by the ads that pop up. It is not the ads themselves that bother me, but rather ones that are very obscene. Such as the ad for the Choices, it shows characters getting hot and steamy which makes me and my family extremely uncomfortable when trying to watch a movie together. Please understand. Not bad but. This app is great are you stew for another time it works perfectly takes a little bit of time to load And connect though. However, the ads or a bit much to my liking (I prefer no ads😂) so not sponsor anybody or anything there is a designated Roku app that has a remote future as well as many others. I prefer to use that because there is no ads or anything but besides that fact this worked great for me.

Functionally it works, BUT. This remote’s basic functions work well enough to get by. Coming from a long time Apple TV user, this remote could take some notes from their app. First of all the keyboard option does not actually work when attempting to search. So then you’re left painstakingly navigating through the letters only to have a 30 second ad pop up!! It’s incredibly frustrating. Get the keyboard feature to work and I’d be more willing to deal with adds.

Annoying commercials. I would give this 5stars if it weren’t for the commercials. A week ago I couldn’t find my remote so I downloaded the app to my phone. I had used it on my tablet a few years ago but liked the concierge of the physical remote so deleted it. I didn’t have a problem with the simplicity of the app then but now, these annoying ads pop up and I have to wait to select play after I select which show/movie I want to watch. Assuming it’s because it’s free. Maybe give users an option without the ads?

Stupid pop ups. The app works fine except the pop up adds. It’s frustrating. You try and fast forward and boom. An add that you can’t close. Congrats. You just fast forwarded they the entire episode. Like all of these type of adds, they hide the X so you can’t close it. If you do happen to have perfection vision and find the X then congrats. But you better also have perfect hand eye coordination because if you’re off by a hair then boom. You just clicked on an add that is going to open 3 more pages of crap that no one will ever want.

“Warning” This isn’t even a Roku company. This isn’t a Roku company this is really sketchy. It probably works but did they even get permission? And how do you know this app isn’t doing some sketchy things behind the scenes? Very sketchy app and that is why I didn’t give them a dime. Just something to consider before you invest time or for some reason money into. From the reviews I’ve seen it’s infested with ads and crashes so it clearly isn’t a smooth, trustworthy app.

Beware. The remote itself works great! Like most free apps it has ads which get aggravating after a while. You can purchase a $1.99 app to remove them, however if upgrade your phone or have to replace it that upgrade does not transfer. I emailed the company three days ago and have received no response. I called the Roku company and this company is in NO way affiliated with them which makes their imaging that looks like trademark Roku kinda misleading. I have made this purchase on 4 phone...twice now! If you have to get this app as we did just don’t buy the upgrade and be aware that this is not a Roku company and you will not be treated with the same respect if you have issues.

Cool, but doesn’t allow you to type QWERTY. Very helpful for people who loose remotes. I downloaded this app as a possible solution for when I am searching shows on the TV. It takes a long time to type out names of shows or people I am looking to watch. I downloaded this expecting to type into the search bar. However there seems to be a software bug that does not allows the applications keyboard to communicate with the TVs search bar. Overall not bad product. Just needs some software updates in the future.

When you can’t find the remote. I have a puppy who likes to play with items on tables. So what do you do when said puppy hides the Roku remote… you punt and figure out an option. I found the remote app, figuring it wouldn’t work but on occasion, I was wrong! This is a great app! I use it on all the tv’s that have a Roku attached. Don’t hesitate click the GET button

Just one problem. The Rokie app is a very good idea, though I do have a single problem with it! Most of the time, it doesn’t connect, and even when it does, it either takes forever, or pops up fast, the app remote does work. Except the TV doesn’t really reply. (Also, I would really recommend to stop putting so many ads on it. It takes about five minutes just to get on Netflix!)

Multi Roku Tv’s. I have 4 Roku tv’s in my home. I wish I could rename each one and it stays on the list. The numbers etc doesn’t help. I also hate waiting for it to upload so I can use it. This is an everyday problem because I love using this but it has to keep looking for each tv and I should be able to label which tv and have a permanent list in my app with delete option

But when I go to skip the intro or something it gives me an ad and I can skip it for like 10 seconds and by then I miss the chance to skip it. I understand the need for ads when you’re producing a free app. The ads are extremely annoying and you have to sit through one just to change the channel. maybe display an ad in rectangle format at the bottom of the screen, while you can still use the remote. that way you get your revenue and people aren’t dissatisfied. The best. Well, I can’t get the real Roku app on my phone because my mom said it as her daughter cause I am a girl but getting this app changed my life like for real you should when I’m putting in this online this app changed my life. It’s not as confusing as the other ones the other ones confused me because I’m like nine years old using the speaker to say this I’m very smart.

I mostly love it. It works well and I mostly love it! The only frustration is the adverts don’t have an option to close them out. They’ll stick around on the screen for at least a minute. I have to close the app out and reload it to regain use of the controller. I’m not sure if the app has control over that. But it’s frustrating for the advert to continuously try and send me to the App Store and be unable to be closed out.

Convenient yet aggravating. I love how convenient it is to have the remote on my phone since I can’t connect the actual remote to the tv however, you have SICK, and I mean mentally ill to put Ads on a remote app. You have like 5-6 clicks before you come across not ONE but TWO ads that last 4-5 seconds each until an exit button is displayed to return to the remote. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING APP!!!!. My little puppy ate 3 of our remotes already, and we can’t afford another one. Especially with the virus, I haven’t left my house in over 50+ days. When I came across this app on the App Store, it was truly mind bending. I couldn’t believe my eyes. Once I installed it, I could now control our TVs! This app has genuinely helped me, and showed me that technology goes farther than we think.

Ads on a remote app is absolutely ridiculous.. Sure, the remote works well enough and is convenient. But this app is loaded with pop-up ads. Good Remote. Works for what it’s supposed to do. Ads can be annoying but I get it, they’re necessary. I am most likely about to start using a different remote app because this one has stopped working, when it pops up the name of my Roku and I connect it it gives me the remote as if it connected, but then doesn’t actually do anything on my screen. This problem is still happening no matter how many times I reopen the app! Works just fine if it actually works though.

Bad review pt1. This app doesn’t allow you to connect unless you are on the same internet as your phone, which brings us to the fact that if you don’t have and remote to connect to the internet on your Roku how can you possibly connect your phone to the Roku. I need some help. So a day ago I lost my roku remote, then i had to be stuck to an app. When I tried another one of these they didn’t have a volume button, it calms me when the TV is on when i sleep. Because i’m terrified of the dark a lot. And then it annoyed me the tv, all night long. So I tried this one t and then when i tried the volume thingy is didn’t work. Rokie needs some fixes.

Since my son-in-law installed a Roku TV in my room, I hardly leave my bedroom. I can watch some of the really old shows and new ones with my grands. Absolutely no need for expensive cable contracts. I like it. My dad got it forbid and me and my sister love it I never had one I’m always stuck in my moms and dads room , and mostly in the living to room I sleep in there but since he got it I have loved it my mom and dad have a Rockie tv in there and I my living room in the Living room also has one So I just wanted thank you for giving this out and I really want to be on tv one day that is my dream to be on Disney channel thank you

Ads Will Drive You Nuts & Can’t Restore Purchases. This was a great alternative until the official Roku app got an overhaul. The only downside of the app was the ads which was basically a forced purchase since the ads would take about 10-20 seconds of your time between gestures on your phone. I made the purchase on my old phone, but I’m unable to restore my purchases on the new phone due to the non-functional “restore purchases” button. No response from the customer support either. As of today, the Roku app is definitely superior with many additional great functions. Do yourself a favor and avoid a maddening series of ads thrown at your face and get the official Roku app for FREE.

Great App If You Don’t Have The Remote. Right, to make a long story short, I lost my remote and I could never find it. Being too lazy to buy a new one, my friend showed me this app. I am happy he did, I love this app, it’s weird at first but truest you’ll get used to it. My only complaint is the latency with your button presses. This isn’t a huge deal though since you are just watching tv. Great app.

My Absolute Best and Reliable App. I’ve tried several remotes to get the best results for controlling my TV. This app is without a doubt the most accurate and user friendly app for controlling my 58” Hisense Roku television. Download and setup was automatic. And the ease of use made it a breeze. I highly recommend this app for anyone looking for a great remote experience.

Ads are ABSOLUTELY, #%@$&#% RIDICULOUS!!!!. I will lose my mind if I use this Ap another time. I really don’t mind an ad here and there, but on this Ap, it totally interferes with the functionality of the Ap. Every time I hit a button - could be play, pause, rewind, forward - I get two very loud and noisy ad for some random game Ap or whatever, I couldn’t really say, because I’m busy trying to find a way to X out of it - finally X out, and forgot what I was trying to do. It’s just Super Annoying, and there are other Roku Aps that don’t do that. In fact, I don’t think I’ve ever used ANY AP - EVER that popped up ads EVERY TIME you touch a key. And I, too have never left a review - ever, but this one deserved my time and effort.

Really convenient but one issue. I really love this app and its really convenient in times where you can’t find your remote or you break your remote but there’s just one issue. It has adds. And a normal remote doesn’t have an add every time u press a button. And it’s really annoying. So developers, idk if adds are optional or if they give u sponsor money but, I would really appreciate if you would get rid of the adds ;)

Great app. Works great for our roku. I lost my remote, so I was grateful for this app! I have used on iPhone 8+ and 6+, and my daughter has it on her galaxy phone as well. The ads aren’t unreasonable (the frequency of ads or the length until you can skip) at all, and for only $2 some people might find removing them worthwhile, but I don’t get ads even every time I use the app to navigate to a new show, so I’m just dealing with the free version for now. But no complaints!

Premium, Pro, A MESS. Around a year or two ago I downloaded this app since my Roku didn’t have a remote. It was wonderful, no ads and all features were available. The app has been off my phone for a couple months so when I get it again a subscription is thrown in my face. It’s frustrating since I can’t use it how I used to and it just became inconvenient like all the other subscription based apps. And $19 a year for some extra buttons seems too much!

Sneaky. I wouldn’t use this version of the roku remote. They sneak in the ads to where you accidentally click them consistently. Twice ive accidentally purchased the $2.99 a week trial because they have it set up in such a way that it is very easy to accidentally click the wrong thing or even if you click the exit or close button most of the time it will still reroute you to their purchase options and if you are going too fast you WILL be paying for something by accident. The other roku remote options do not do this. Use anyone of those.

I could do with a little less ads. I could do without some of the ads like I try to click one button and then an ad like I want to try to watch tv not watch some stupid ad of a game I am never going to consider to play it can get out of hand to like when my grandmas is trying to use this app and then the first thing that she touches there is an ad so sometimes I wish it would take away some of the ads that it has

No headphone integration?. My manual, the advertising and the app claims that I can listen to my TV audio through the app. But the headphone button never appears for me! I was really excited to use the feature. What gives? Also the ads are terrible as everyone here says. The worst part is that they appear in the middle of when I’m trying to navigate their interface! So I get launched out to an add mid stream! I paid $800 for this tv and the main Roku remote is subpar. I should be able to reprogram the hardware quick buttons.

Love it, but constant ads are disruptive. I love the remote and it’s quite useful. My grandma broke my actual remote so I use this app daily and it does the job, I just hate the constant 30 second ads that disrupt my tv viewing entertainment experience and occasionally my remote disconnects from my tv and connects to my parents’ Roku tv in the other room. I still recommend this app

Convenient. Nice to have this option, as kids keep misplacing the original remote. Also the app doesn’t need to be pointed right at the TV, as does the remote. It would be even better if there were an option to use phone keyboard for entering passwords (as the app just replicates the onerous setup of the actual remote).
