Wipr 2 App Reviews

Seems at best a 50% ad-block. The many high reviews enticed me to buy this app, but after about two weeks of use, I find that many ads seep through. I primarily care about ad-blocking on news websites (e.g., Seattle Times, Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, etc.) and find Wipr 2 performing disappointingly here, with many ads still breaking through. If Wipr 2 were more effective, I'd would subscribe to the monthly or annual tip. But so far, I don't see the app providing what I expected.

Doesn’t seem to work. I was very hopeful that this software would provide some relief from the pop-up ads that were plaguing my web browsing experience. Even though the site says that the software has been installed properly and is working properly. I still have the same number. of pop-up ads that I’ve always had. Zero improvement

Sets a high bar. Not only does it work extremely well but it’s got a very “human” feel to it, like care was put into making sure you could set it up easily. I love the “set it and forget it” sort of makeup of the Wipr extension. I turned off Extra except for the site that makes you click Skip every few minutes, and it’s been working amazingly well.

Makes the internet usable. Biggest complement I can give to an app like this is that I don’t even think about it. I don’t see annoying ads everywhere or most of the spammy popups for stuff, and it doesn’t break any websites. The interface for using it is also really clean and the support pricing is really affordable compared to the competitors right now. Highly recommend!

Awesome Dev, Must-Have for Safari. The title says it all, but Wipr 2 truly is a must-have for browsing in Safari and making the web bearable—especially places like that big ol’ Video Site that starts with a “Y”. The dev has been thorough, prolific, and responsive for years—and she continues that with Wipr 2. I’d recommend not just buying the app, but also throwing in a few tips every once in a while. Thanks for making Safari awesome!

Great as Always. I’ve been using the original Wipr for probably as long as I’ve owned Apple products. It worked as well on the first day as it does now. A few weeks ago when I noticed a version 2 was being released. Preordered. Great thing is that one purchase works everywhere: Mac, iPad, phone. My older iPad is almost unusable without ad-blocking due to how careless websites are now. I primarily use Safari so I trust Wipr and now Wipr 2. Not seeing a difference but that’s good, it should completely disappear into the background unless I need to turn it off temporarily.

Use this app!. Wipr is a rare example of an app that has been meticulously and thoughtfully designed to make your life better. Not only does it remove annoyances, but Wipr itself works quietly in the background without being annoying itself. There are no settings to fuss with and no existential questions to consume your time; just a well designed app that does exactly what it should. The developer is real person with passion and personality and it’s a joy to support her work. We need more apps and developers like this!

Sleek, Simple, and Effective. Wipr 2’s sleek design is easy on the eyes and reflects its simple, but effective functionality. Upon download, one need only open the app, tap “activate,” and keep the app open in the background for updates. While it lacks customization, it achieves 100% effectiveness on the most popular ad block tests right from the start — a stand out “set it and forget it” option.

Perfect for my use case. I use safari in my phone for browsing the web, or reading news articles. It has given me the ability to click on articles from reddit and not get an ad salad every time.

Better than v1. So far v2 is way better than v1. To the point that made me sincerely surprised. Great job, thank you! The only downside is that is not compatible with any MacOs that is older than Sonoma. This does hurt me since there are two machines around me that run High Sierra and Monterey. No way to use it on them unfortunately. Aside from that the app is not only great but in fact exceeded my expectations. Kudos to devs!

Best bang for your buck. I hardly write app reviews and I really will never pay for an app. However this came across my suggested and I noticed an immediate change and I’m very impressed. You can browse through all of your typical sites and if anything tries to take you to another site, “wipr” immediately takes you out and takes you back to your original site. This is a blessing within an app, and the developer has been so generous to make the app very user friendly and simple. Posted throughout the app are help links and any other information the developer felt would be helpful to the users. Overall I’d give this app a 10/5 if I could but it gets a 5/5 due to the limit of star ratings. Very worth your one time payment

The best of the best in Safari adblocking.. Wipr 2 brings additional refinements in the app and enhances its blocking capability. I have gotten a better user experience & less ads with Wipr 2, plus the new user interface makes it easier to identify any potential issues. To use is simple, just open, activate, and browse away ad-free! While no blocker is perfect, Wipr 2 feels perfect and works on your Apple devices without a sweat!

Awesome!. I saw someone mention this on a tech blog. I'd never heard of it before so I did a little research and loved what I saw. There are several things that caught my attention right away: 1. No subscription! A reasonable and flat fee. 2. Works across all my Apple devices for the single (did I mention reasonable?) price. 3. The developer was very personable in their blog. Seems like they care about what they create. Just installed this and it does everything that was promised. Turned off all the other blockers I had running and installed this. Safari has never run faster and every site I threw at it opened like it was already loaded in the background. It's that good! No ads and it even got rid of the nag screens that some websites use. Best app purchase I've made since the original 1Password. I've written maybe three reviews through the years but this developer delivered and deserves to be told what a good job they've done. Spread the word!

Works perfect. I used wipr the original and upgraded to the next version wipr 2. Both have worked flawlessly at stopping the ever increasing amount of pop ups and videos while maintaining website functionality. Well worth the money.

just as good as the first one if not better!!!. I’ve had this pre-ordered for the last couple of weeks. I was wondering if this app was ever going to get a major update. This should be everyone’s go to a blocking app for iPhones. It’s simple straight to the point. There’s no confusing settings, and it does what it says it’s going to do. The new major overhaul update is more aesthetically pleasing, and overall provides a better interface as to how the application works. I usually don’t spend time writing reviews or spending too much money, but this is five dollars. I knew I would not regret.

Still the best. Works and doesn’t require a subscription. What more can you ask? I’ve been using WIPR for years on desktop and mobile. In that time I’ve seem others go from something I purchased to a subscription model, require separate purchase for mac and iPhone, etc. so I am very pleased that the model is still single purchase and no subscription. That said, I get value so I’m happy to tip as well. I hope those tips go directly to the developer (e.g. Apple doesn’t get a cut of that…). Thanks for version 2 - it looks and works great.

Make sure you futz around until Wipr extra works.. Had trouble with slashdot but Wipr extra needs a half dozen extra steps to enable, then it works. There’s a troubleshooting section on the app with a test site. The faq has info on how to get extra working which takes a little bit to find. Without extra tons of stuff doesn’t work right or isn’t blocked.

Great ad blocker!. This ad blocker works flawlessly, is updated frequently, and keeps me ahead of all the privacy dangers and annoyances on the web. Amazingly, if ads were unobtrusive and didn’t track us, none of these ad blockers would be necessary. But as of now, they *are.*

1 min in and love it. I just got the app figuring it was worth a try since everything else seemed complicated and time consuming to setup. This app was up and running in minutes and already blocked most the ads I was seeing when reading free mangas. Awesome job and awesome app!

Broke ios18 Safari Reader mode. I have been using the reader mode since it came out recently with iOS 18 and really enjoy listening to webpages. Unfortunately since I have installed this app that option has disappeared on the webpage that I would use it on. Disappointing

Really good. Been using Wipr for many years now on all my iOS and MacOS devices. No ad blocker is perfect, and not all ads can be blocked, but Wipr is among the best. It’s been a great blocker of ads, trackers, etc. Its also been very stable and efficient. Wipr 2 is no different. Really glad I upgraded. EXCELLENT app, period.

This is the best ad blocker for Safari on Mac and iPhone!. Coming from someone that used to use Ad Gaurd Pro and this is simply better. Just download an app and you’re good to go no extra setups! Also the fact that there’s no limit so you can download it to all of your apple devices!

Phenomenal Adblocker. I genuinely have never had an adblocker that actually works really well, I had all the blockers you could try on IOS yet none of them would really work. They would either need a free trial, yearly plan, subscription or would genuinely never work. I to be honest didn’t even really check the reviews on this app and just straight downloaded it cause it was 5 stars 😅— yet this has been the best adblocker I have ever used and for 5 bucks it’s lowk worth it.

Best Adblocker Period. I’ve been through more than my fair share of blockers. At first I loved having a million options to sift through to make my blocking experience just how I want it but as I matured I came around to the beauty of simplicity. Wipr is just that. It is so simple, out of the way, and efficient. It’s everything you want and nothing you don’t. Not the mention the developer is great individual and very responsive. I can’t think of a single bad thing about this app. Get it now!

Keyboard is now working on iPad Pro. This is working seamlessly. The big plus is I was ready to smash my iPad Pro due to build in keyboard having a unresponsive mind of its own. I tried everything with nothing working. Upgraded to Wipr 2 and works like a charm. Maybe I had a keyboard tracker, who knows.

Todd Cameron. Unlike so many others, you can tell the author uses apps all the time. Very locked in on what makes apps/ programs truly useful. A big part of that is not allowing advertisers to interfere in the enjoyment of using the software she created when it is used. This takes WISDOM, not intelligence. At times I think there are about as many technically motivated programmers in the world as there are fire ants. Unlike those programmers, who seem to be everywhere, programmers who develop software that truly is an excellent and non-annoying application are worth getting to know, they are rare. Any developer that tells you how fast he/ she can have your program done and trouble free in only a few short days or weeks - has a team of dozens of talented designers OR, likely is starting on a template framework being adapted to what the developer perceives the needs to be met for the client. Many developers think they can make even more money by including numerous ads for other software titles. That theory works as well as going knocking on doors during the championship game. They will be home, but want to talk to a salesman about as much as shaving their head with a butter knife while chewing on tinfoil. Knowing how to address a customers needs takes plenty of smarts. Knowing how and when to sell your software to them at the best possible time takes wisdom. Go with wisdom every time.

Take back your phone. Holy gee whiz this app is the best money I’ve spent on my phone. Had never heard of Wipr before stumbling across a Reddit endorsement. Preordered sight unseen and the rest is history. Finally I can browse the web and actually process the content instead of wasting attention on ads here, there and everywhere! Thank you!

Version 2 baby. After installing Wipr a few years ago, I finally stopped jumping from ad blocker to ad blocker. Set it and forget it. Wipr just works. And Wipr 2 is even better. For the amount of visual garbage this app successfully blocks, I think it’s worth paying for the updated version.

Not sure how this is different…. Wipr is one of the more effective content blockers on the App Store and it gets there without the user having to spend 20 minutes flipping various settings on and off to see what works, which is a real positive. The problem is I’m not sure how Wipr 2 is different from the original. I get that sometimes you want to do a complete rewrite, but this one doesn’t feel like it was necessary from the customer’s perspective and I’m a bit disappointed that there aren’t more apparent improvements to justify the price. A major feature the original was missing that this is also missing is the ability to not filter on certain sites. The functionality in Safari to turn off content blockers on a site isn’t reliable and randomly turns back on.

Happy customer. i’ve been searching a long time to find a app that works as good as this one. I stumbled upon this app by the recommendation of some friends and have been using it several months now and let me tell you that there is no better app out there kudos to the developer thank you.

The Ad Blocker That Simply Works. Wipr 2 has been a solid find. It just works, plain and simple. Knowing it's the product of a single developer is impressive, especially given how consistently it performs. Updates arrive regularly, keeping it ahead of the curve on blocking all the usual online annoyances. It's one of the few extensions I've used that effectively clears away ads across sites without fuss. Highly recommend for a no-hassle experience.

It works!. Since opening the Wipr app and manually refreshing the blocklist, it’s working as well if not better than Wipr 1. Yeah!!! Wipr app doesn’t seem to block all ads on first go around. Force-reloading (command + R) the webpage a few times seems to get it to block all ads. Be nice not having to do that. It appears to run as a background app.

Best Ad Blocker for the Money. Wipr 2 is great. It is simple to use. For the price, you get great value for what the developer promises: blocked ads. Speaking of the developer, they care about their product. That goes a long way! They continually update the block list and work to ensure Wipr 2 Extra handles the extra stubborn ads.

Wipr is the bist!. I’ve been using Wipr 1 since release and was so impressed at how well it worked I gave the max tip available. I have no idea how many years I’ve used Wipr 1 (it seems like three or four at least) that when I discovered there was a new version, I immediately purchased it if only to throw some more cash Kaylee’s way. I’ve only used Wipr 2 for one day but it seems to work as good as Wipr 1 (that is to say flawlessly) but I’ll use it a few more days and if it’s solid, I’ll send along the max tip again. Bottom line: Wipr 2 is just as simple to use as the first version and works just as well. 10/10 recommended!

Don’t waste time, use the best set and forget blocker. The developer is very active and approachable. I have used AdGuard, 1Blocker, NextDNS, Control D, and Brave extensively across platforms and operating systems. Wipr provides the most pleasant experience with the lowest impact to performance. You don’t need to constantly update filters and experience slow performance. I had used AdGuard for years but now I don’t see a reason to waste time ensuring filters are updated or experience slow speeds. Wipr 2 is the best set and forget option available.

Great product thank you for including blind users via strong voiceover support. I purchased the original WIPR years ago and discovered the newer version and decided to purchase once again. I did so because the product has always been reliable and I deeply appreciate the authors inclusion of voiceover support which means I could purchase without worry that I would have trouble using the product. Thank you for thoughtful and expert development.

My go to AWESOME app!. Tried many ad-blockers over the year and majority of them worked well but there were some potholes. Came across Wip (1) a while back and used it faithfully. The app just worked and the Developer kept the app up to date. Know introduced Wipr 2 and the “hits” keep on coming - gr8 improvement over version one. Give it a spin, you’ll love it!

Best adblocker ever. Over the years and since before there were any browsers as capable as what we have today I have tried to block various online annoyances. Whether they were free or paid they all had many failings. Wipr and now Wipr 2 tops ‘em all. It requires almost no interaction from me and most of whatever annoyed me in the past is gone. After you get used to it for awhile try shutting it off, then use Safari without it. You’ll be amazed.

Just Great. I’ve tried several blocking solutions on various platforms, from ABP and uBO and HOSTS files on Windows to 1Blocker and Adguard Pro on iOS, and in my experience, Wipr (and now Wipr 2) has done a comparatively great job, while being super fast and simple. Once set up, on the test sites I’ve used it blocks as good as any other solution I’ve tried, and better than some of the supposedly more robust offerings. For dealing with ads in Safari and WebKit based apps, this is just fantastic, and I totally recommend it.

Simple. Elegant. Great.. This ad blocker is great at what it does and does it with simplicity and elegance. It’s perfect if you simply want to block ads and trackers without having to turn a bunch of knobs or be faced with a confusing interface. The app is just on. Instead of using its own allow list, it relies on Safari’s built in options to disable content blocking per website.

Perfect.. Incredible ad blocker for iOS. Dev is amazing. Price is incredible for how well it works, especially for a solo dev that absolutely rocks. I’ve convinced probably six friends and fam to snag this after showing them what my internet looks like using it. Could not recommend more.

Support for the Developer. Frankly, I haven’t noticed a difference yet (it’s been 2 days since launch), but I loved Wipr, and I wanted to support the developer. There are few indie devs making excellent apps that respect users’ privacy and attention with apps that feel born of their platform and are not inundated with ads, even when they’re paid for. I pre-purchased Wipr 2 to show my appreciation for the quality of the app (it’s invisibility is asset for what it’s trying to accomplish), its amazing developer, and its lack of subscription.

Great Sequel to Version 1. Like version 1, this is a lightweight but effective ad blocker that gives you the choice of only using the Apple content blocker API or advanced blocking (including video sites) using the Extra component. Constantly being improved by a responsive developer. I’ve been using v1 for years and didn’t hesitate to get this new version.

Excellent but still missing Auto-update. We have been an advocate and supporter of Wipr since the previous version. The latest version offers and improved user interface and user experience, while still maintaining a simple implementation process. When the application is up-to-date with the latest definitions, it performs very well against all of our testing to block various web, browsing, annoyances, cookies, and other elements. Unfortunately, when closed the application still does not automatically update behind the scenes for the user. The user must keep the application open for updates to transpire, which means the user must remember to update the application’s definitions. This auto-update failure is the only shortcoming that we observe. Otherwise, this is an excellent application and highly recommendable.

Exceptional!. A significant upgrade from the original Wipr, which was already outstanding. Using the mobile web no longer feels like fighting my way through hostile territory, and I appreciate that so much! It’s a tip of my hat to the developer when my little tip jar contribution goes through each month. This is just a wonderful app in every way.

So far, so good. Was growing frustrated lately as a different (and free) ad guard program simply wasn’t working anymore… did some looking around and so so glad I found Wipr 2. One very reasonable fee to run on all of my apple devices is a great deal! One of the worst experiences online is when I visit small, independent recipe sites that are just absolutely overfilled with weird ads that make them annoying and practically unusable. Well, now they are neat and clean and there aren’t a ton of flashing cubes of mind rot flipping around my field of view. Well done!

Great for the price!. Wipr 2 blocks basically all the same ads as Adguard Pro but with less complexity and it comes with the Mac version. It doesn’t allow for custom filters, but you can disable it per site. It’s frequently updated.

Referring to all friends and family. In short this has been the most shared app. I don’t know how long it’ll last, but I’m liking it so far. Most shared and I’ve had it for under 24 hours. So, let’s say I’ve already begun to rave about this. Open up a video in safari and click play. Straight to watching via browser 👍🏼

Doesn’t work as claimed. This product doesn’t appear to offer any improvement over the first one. It fails to deal with over-the-top advertising “ads served by Google”. Google advertising is pervasive and awfully intrusive. Wrote an informative report to the developer including an example of a Sky News website. Developer wasn’ t sufficiently interested to read the report, apparently, and blew me off - albeit politely. This app isn’t cheap but if it does its job then great. But it doesn’t offer better functionality over freeware apps or built in browser features. As long as the developer gets (her?) $$ that’s all that really matters it seems. I don’t think this developer deserves a financial reward for this app.

Still the best — now even better!. Wipr 1 has been far and away the best in class ad blocker for iOS for years — I’ve cycled through every other option and always come back to it. And Wipr 2? Well, it keeps everything awesome about Wipr 1 — reliability, simplicity, and ease of use — while adding some seriously awesome new perks and features. If you’re still reading, stop reading and start downloading!

A more humane internet experience. Navigating the internet is painful and downright hostile feeling at times, especially as someone with sensory issues. Being able to flick a switch and not be assaulted by cookie requests on every page or obnoxious bright and loud advertisements makes browsing a joy again.

All you need. Best alternative to ublock origin on Safari. Works very very well. Checked on GitHub add checker etc. 100% blocked. Only works in Safari. Auto updates it’s self Have tested many other blockers. Wipr 2 is Awesome.

Best Block App There Is!. I’ve been using blocking app for decades. Over time, they start to become bloated and full of stuff not relevant. Others, like Ad Block Pro, turns out to be Russian owned. Also started having problems with websites not loading correctly or breaking (being unable to login or comment for example) so I started on the long hunt for a new blocker. I discover Wipr 1 and it’s worked like a charm from day one. I never even know it’s running, it just quietly does its thing. Never causing issues and block those evil auto play videos. I even bought it again for my MacBook. Wipr 2 has new enhancements for blocking, and one purchase will allow you to install on iPhone AND you Mac! The best blocker just got better!

Just buy it. It’s that good.. The most seamless blocking experience I’ve had on iOS. Wipr 1 was excellent, this is even better when it comes to making sure YouTube and any major websites are useable.

A strongly recommended Privacy tool for Safari users. I am blown away by Wipr’s low fee and high quality. One purchase and all of your iOS/Macs can ditch nasty trackers and invasive ads. This app is truly lightweight, has virtually no affect on system resources and has a blocklist that is maintained every few days. Once this is paired with configured Safari settings it achieves a “you have strong protection against Web tracking.” On Coveryourtracks. Massive Kudos to Kaylee! If you’re seeking a truly great Safari experience, support an independent dev and get Wipr 2.

Fantastic upgrade to Wipr 1. Absolutely love the new additions in this version. The added coverage is fantastic for annoyances which are pervasive on the web. I’d say Wipr 2 doesn’t have the ‘snappy’ speed of Wipr 1 when browsing, but it’s still a great app. I’d say this is due to all the new rules that are loaded. Love that the developer has kept this fixed price. It’s what keeps me coming back.

Best Ad Blocker. Started ages ago with Wipr and with upgrades to phones now using Wipr 2, set and forget ad blocking, this app is one of the best value apps available and in my mind essential, also have Wipr 2 on my iMac

Fast ad blocker with great support. This ad blocker is very fast and does not impact Safari’s speed like some others do. It has overcome some issues related with YouTube since launch, and now is almost perfect. The most impressive thing is the support that the developer offers - She works with zeal to address any issues and improvements are incorporated quickly.

Excellent app. I’ve come to appreciate using Wipr and now Wipr2 over the years. It’s been an excellent product. I like how easy it is to use while not overly complicated. It gets the job done in Safari.

Disappointed. I have had problems making payments on two different websites. Contacted customer support and they suggested turning off the extension, no issues after that. The app also blocks pages of legit websites and I still get ads on YouTube. Uninstalled the app.

Block well on desktop but not on mobile. Wipe 2 is great on desktop but I still get ads on my Safari on mobile unfortunately.

Excellent. So far so good. Wipr 2 is simple, quiet, and offers comprehensive blocking. There’s no custom blocking, but I never end up using that functionality anyway. All that’s missing here is the ability to block social media buttons, which drive me nuts and which many other blockers can get rid of. For now it’s my preferred option for Safari.

Only marginally effective. Fails to block a lot of ads, and lacks the ability to block elements manually. I tried this briefly and went back to AdGuard, which simply does a better job (and is also free).

best ad blocker for mac. this app works perfectly and just as described. unlike other apps i have tried it doesn’t required you to wait a second or two to skip an ad on youtube and skips it without you even knowing it was ever there which i love. 10/10!!!!

Does nothing. This app does not really do anything. It does not block YouTube ads (even with the latest update). What its does is just make the screen black while the ad is still running in. The background with a spinning wheel. After that you are hit with a still ad and again you have to hit the Skip Ad button. I would like a $6.99 refund until this is fixed then I will repurchase once this is fixed.

Great for set-and-forget users. This is a very easy and simple way to cater to majority of the users who just want to block out the “noise” you get on a lot of the websites. If a website doesn’t load as expected and you suspect it’s due to the extension, you can report it through the “Share” function. Also, just disable the extension for that particular site/page on Safari so that it can work as expected. I think it’s worth the one-time cost. If you like to tinker with the filters..etc this ain’t it but there are a couple of other extensions that offer that option.

Doesn’t work as advertised. I paid $6.99 for the app on the premise that I don’t have to watch ads on YouTube. This app failed to do so, waste of money. Wish I could get a refund but can’t.

Not worth upgrading from version 1 Wipr. Wipr 1 worked well for me. Saw the developer rolled out version 2. Was hesitant to try out at first. Recently when I go to YouTube on Safari, video won’t start right away (it was before) - now it went black for 10 seconds before video starts. Or I would need to refresh the page manually for the video to play right away. Then what’s the point of this app if video won’t play right away? So I figured I would give this version 2 a try - same issue, same black screen wait time. Very disappointed honestly. Hope the developer looked into this and fix it. Right now would not recommend at all.

Still seeing ads. I paid money for this app and I still see ads on the weather app and others apps! Waste of money…

Slows down browsing. I noticed the app introduces some latency when navigating websites. I tested with and without Wipr and browsing was always faster without it.

Frequent Updates. Developer is very active and will frequently update to improve app’s ability with all websites.

The best blocker for Safari. Wipr is a small independent content blocker that out punches the best on the Apple ecosystem. Rocky; Wipr is Rocky. Adriannnnnn!

PERFECT. Blocks everything… and I mean EVERYTHING

Almost Perfect. Works great! Some cookie popups aren’t properly blocked (such as Audeze’s website) but disabling the plugin, accepting cookies and turning it back on works. YouTube seems to identify Wipr Extra very easily, but disabling Extra bypasses the detection. It’ll show a black screen for a bit instead of an ad, but it’s far more tolerable than seeing ads. Good work Kaylee!

Good adblocker. Works very well with Safari. Application is updated regularly. Worth the small investment.

Absolute Necessity. I don’t know how anyone can look at anything in Safari without Wipr. Wipr 1 was great, Wipr 2 is even better. The best ad-blocker for Apple PERIOD. I’d honestly say outside Ublock-Origin on Chrome (which no longer is supported) Wipr has been the best working ad-blocker out of ALL that I have tested and used over the years. It is also the most user-friendly. Install and forget type setup, which IMO is the Apple ethos. Unlike several other apps for Apple Wipr also seems to use far less system resources. Which on newer devices a person probably would not notice but on my iPhone 11 using Wipr there is no noticeable difference but other ad-blockers noticeably slow down the phone. This developer deserves every penny and then some. Over the years, before Wipr 2 even was made, this dev has had a great reputation and never once any stories about user-data being collected or sold. Which in 2025 is almost Jesus level compassion.

Broke ios18 Safari Reader mode. I have been using the reader mode since it came out recently with iOS 18 and really enjoy listening to webpages. Unfortunately since I have installed this app that option has disappeared on the webpage that I would use it on. Disappointing

Wrong privacy statement. The app collects data about users regularly making unnecessary web requests. No option to disable tracking. UPDATE: My review is about users data collection without appropriate disclosure or an option to opt-out, not only about what you mean under misleading "personal data" collection. Currently, your app collects user data and shares it with third parties, including at least your server provider. If you don't want to offer an opt-out option, please update your App Privacy statement via App Store Connect.

Doesn’t seem to work. I was very hopeful that this software would provide some relief from the pop-up ads that were plaguing my web browsing experience. Even though the site says that the software has been installed properly and is working properly. I still have the same number. of pop-up ads that I’ve always had. Zero improvement

Most effective out there!. I’ve tried many of the adblockers out there. Including AdGuard, 1Blocker, uBlock Origin, and more. Wipr 2 is the ONLY one to block 100% of all the ads in 4 separate tests. Plus, it’s very efficient on resources and probably the simplest to set up. Yea you have to pay for this app. But it’s a NO BRAINER.

I don’t rate apps. As the title says, I don’t rate apps…ever. This however is everything is promises to be. No annoying ads, no trackers. I can even read Apple News without scrolling past all the junk ads they put in there. I also purchased filtr as well. Worth every penny! Keep up the great work and thanks for a great app.

Fantastic. There’s absolutely nothing about this app that you don’t immediately fall in love with. From the absolutely beautiful UI to the simplest use instructions in the history of mankind. Knocked out out of the ballpark, or whatever your metaphor of choice for doing the best of the best is.

Seems at best a 50% ad-block. The many high reviews enticed me to buy this app, but after about two weeks of use, I find that many ads seep through. I primarily care about ad-blocking on news websites (e.g., Seattle Times, Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, etc.) and find Wipr 2 performing disappointingly here, with many ads still breaking through. If Wipr 2 were more effective, I'd would subscribe to the monthly or annual tip. But so far, I don't see the app providing what I expected.

Referring to all friends and family. In short this has been the most shared app. I don’t know how long it’ll last, but I’m liking it so far. Most shared and I’ve had it for under 24 hours. So, let’s say I’ve already begun to rave about this. Open up a video in safari and click play. Straight to watching via browser 👍🏼

Great for the price!. Wipr 2 blocks basically all the same ads as Adguard Pro but with less complexity and it comes with the Mac version. It doesn’t allow for custom filters, but you can disable it per site. It’s frequently updated.

Blocks everything. Have used maybe 100 so called "ad blockers" over the years and most do almost nothing IMO. Custom DNS settings are great when they work. Was skeptical but after reading other reviews, decided to give Wipr 2 a go. So far shuts down everything. Popups, banners, redirects, every single thing. Yay!

Wipr Gets The Job Done!. I've been using Wipr since it first came out. It was good at the beginning and continues to get better as time goes on. Today I added Filtr and it takes Wipr to a new level by protecting all of my apps from ads and other nonsense. My thanks to the developer for a fantastic app that is efficient and easy to use. Review from a longtime user on iPhone & iPad Pro.. From my experience, it is pretty much as “set and forget” as you could hope for on an Apple device. I have noticeably less ads while using Safari + Wipr. That being said, I don’t actually know what is really different between Wipr 1 and Wipr 2. Either way, I have been happy with its performance :))))

Best AdBlocker for Safari. Wipr just works! I found Wipr after removing chromium based browsers from my devices due to privacy concerns. I really struggled to find a decent utility that actually took privacy seriously. Since then, I’ve purchased both Wipr and Wipr 2. For the comments about “jUsT uSe OrIgIn, ItS FrEe”, Wipr is just a one time payment and it supports all devices and you support a dope developer.

Best Ad Blocker on the App Store. I think every single apple device should have wipr on it, it’s so essential to my quality of life these days, it’s one of the few apps I’d happily pay a subscription for, but the creator is awesome enough to make it a one time purchase. 200% worth it

Keyboard is now working on iPad Pro. This is working seamlessly. The big plus is I was ready to smash my iPad Pro due to build in keyboard having a unresponsive mind of its own. I tried everything with nothing working. Upgraded to Wipr 2 and works like a charm. Maybe I had a keyboard tracker, who knows.

Does exactly what is says it will do 100%. Wipr2 is worth it. I've tried free/paid apps like block-bear, block1, brave, adguard. too many to list. I've downloaded cookie / pop up preventer apps. I was tired of having to use three apps. Wipr2 does it all in one easy app. Safari is so much easier to navigate. The developer is honest about what this app does. Which is making the browsing experience as free. Some sights are catching on and if you turn off the Wipr2 extra prompt..they work. Not worried! The developer keeps it updated and simple. Release day!!. Just downloaded as soon as it hit midnight and installed it on both Mac and iPhone. So far it’s working smoothly and there are no issues! Will update after using it for a bit longer but a great first impression! Clean UI too!

It works!. Since opening the Wipr app and manually refreshing the blocklist, it’s working as well if not better than Wipr 1. Yeah!!! Wipr app doesn’t seem to block all ads on first go around. Force-reloading (command + R) the webpage a few times seems to get it to block all ads. Be nice not having to do that. It appears to run as a background app.

1 min in and love it. I just got the app figuring it was worth a try since everything else seemed complicated and time consuming to setup. This app was up and running in minutes and already blocked most the ads I was seeing when reading free mangas. Awesome job and awesome app!

My go to AWESOME app!. Tried many ad-blockers over the year and majority of them worked well but there were some potholes. Came across Wip (1) a while back and used it faithfully. The app just worked and the Developer kept the app up to date. Know introduced Wipr 2 and the “hits” keep on coming - gr8 improvement over version one. Give it a spin, you’ll love it!

Amazing. I don’t usually write reviews but I have had this app for 10 minutes and it has already made my life better. I was having so much trouble with websites freezing and crashing on my iPad and it was really frustrating. Love this app. It does exactly what I want, everything just for a SINGLE purchase which I love. But what I love even more is supporting an independent developer that isn’t trying to wring its customers of money. And for that, I almost wish it was a subscription because I would have loved to support the developer even more.

Not nearly as good as Ublock Origin. I keep hearing how good this is on social forums, but it it failed on a couple of important things. One site I frequent has redirects to help pay for the site. Those redirects are potentially malicious, and I have to turn off javascript when using wipr. No other adblocker I tried failed this badly. I also prefer to have the option to ad filter lists for those odd things wipr doesn’t prevent, but there are no options. This adblocker is best for people who don’t want to make any changes to the basic blocker.

Works perfect. I used wipr the original and upgraded to the next version wipr 2. Both have worked flawlessly at stopping the ever increasing amount of pop ups and videos while maintaining website functionality. Well worth the money.

Make sure you futz around until Wipr extra works.. Had trouble with slashdot but Wipr extra needs a half dozen extra steps to enable, then it works. There’s a troubleshooting section on the app with a test site. The faq has info on how to get extra working which takes a little bit to find. Without extra tons of stuff doesn’t work right or isn’t blocked.

Great Sequel to Version 1. Like version 1, this is a lightweight but effective ad blocker that gives you the choice of only using the Apple content blocker API or advanced blocking (including video sites) using the Extra component. Constantly being improved by a responsive developer. I’ve been using v1 for years and didn’t hesitate to get this new version.

Works Like a Charm. After reading other reviews I decided to give this app a shot. My web browsing experience is significantly much more pleasurable without ads and disjointed webpages due to them. I’m able to read articles and visit sites without being hassled by pop ups that hide the close button.

Great Ad blocker overall. Love this ad blocker. The only reason I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because, on my MacBook, this ad blocker (when activated) would occasionally make my address bar disappear. I had to go into settings and restore it. Doesn’t happen all the time, but I thought my computer was hacked or something 😅

Best Ad Blocker for the Money. Wipr 2 is great. It is simple to use. For the price, you get great value for what the developer promises: blocked ads. Incredible Developer. It just works, and the developer is constantly updating the app with fixes for websites who try to get around the web blocking. It’s pretty amazing to find an app that works this well and gets consistent updates from a committed developer for this affordable of a price.

Version 2 baby. After installing Wipr a few years ago, I finally stopped jumping from ad blocker to ad blocker. Set it and forget it. Wipr just works. And Wipr 2 is even better. For the amount of visual garbage this app successfully blocks, I think it’s worth paying for the updated version.

The Big Enchalada. This is a supreme extension for safari that everyone should have by default. It works so so good at blocking ads and trackers plus the bagillion of other things listed. Great ad blocker!. This ad blocker works flawlessly, is updated frequently, and keeps me ahead of all the privacy dangers and annoyances on the web. Amazingly, if ads were unobtrusive and didn’t track us, none of these ad blockers would be necessary. But as of now, they *are.*

Have to manually enable each time. Found that I need to manually turn the content blocker on each session I have with a page. Impression was that it just worked on its own on every page...but it does work! Although the extra never seems to work (via the message on the test page) even though it is enabled for Safari.

Totally worth it!. In 2024 Ive been having issues with Malware coming from ads on several wikis. But thanks to the original wipr and now this version. I have NO problems with those stupid ads causing a lot of problems and saves me from getting stressed out! (Wish I could give out 10 stars btw). Overall, best ad blocker in the world in my view!

Never written a review before. I’m 23, I don’t write reviews but this is the single best Ad Blocker I have ever used in my entire life. Really good. Been using Wipr for many years now on all my iOS and MacOS devices. No ad blocker is perfect, and not all ads can be blocked, but Wipr is among the best. It’s been a great blocker of ads, trackers, etc. Its also been very stable and efficient. Wipr 2 is no different. Really glad I upgraded. EXCELLENT app, period.

Blake. I started having problems with AddBlock on Fox News and over heating my Mac. It would get to the point that the website would be mostly unusable. I installed Wipr 2 and it runs flawlessly and seems much less taxing to the system. So far I am very pleased.
