Awesome!. I have had this for 5 yrs! It is Great! I purchased mine with my TRAX 42 CIC....at Costco...

Ok but. I would give this product higher rating but the audio notifications are too much for me to handle. The sound is quite loud and there doesn't be an obvious way to turn off the audible notifications or turn down the audible notifications. For example I was driving with my hearing aids in, got a text message and the audible notification before the text message just about blew out my eardrums. This is especially dangerous when driving. They also pop up when using turn by turn navigation as well as news story's popping up on the phone. If they come out with a newer version where this functionality can be adjusted I would give this product more stars, as it is im considering retiring the product to Costco because of this.

App, or Smart Connect Device??. There literally hasn’t been one day during the three years I have had the “Smart Connect” that I haven’t had at least one issue, usually several issues. I don’t know if the App is responsible, or if the problems are with the Smart Connect device itself, but there are numerous and regular problems. 1) sometimes it locks into “Streaming Audio” mode, sucking the life out of the device battery and phone battery; 2) many times each day the device and the phone become disconnected, sometimes reconnecting spontaneously, other times requiring manual reconnection; 3) sometimes it will disconnect from one hearing instrument, even though that instrument is working just fine. This combination of App and device are not at all ready for prime time.

Does NOT stay connected. Does NOT stay connected when using iPhone, iPad or tv sound bar. For A cost of $300 this is ridiculous!!!

Good idea but..... When the Smart Connect is connected to my hearing aids, it works great. It's nice to be able to adjust the volume and tone and the direction. It's handy to be able to answer my phone without touching my phone. However, it loses connection way to often and way too easily. Then it can't find my hearing aids even though two minutes ago, they were connected. It's quite the process to get them reconnected. So much so that it barely worth two stars.

Nice convenience. I would really like to be able to make equalizer like adjustments (not just a base/treble slide) and be able to save the settings into an available program.

Terrible app. Probably should be one star but at least it works sometimes. There are so many problems with it I won’t waste my time enumerating them. Just beware.

Worst app on my phone. Won’t stay connected and won’t reconnect without restarting hearing aids and the app. This happens multiple times a day and I’m on my 4th necklace. If you are looking for an external Bluetooth connection app, run away from this one.

App review. App is incredibly temperamental. Specially frustrating when it says that I am in a phone call when I am not at which time I cannot change the programs. The directional function is cool but it doesn't really help much. I can't really hear any better or worse. It's the temperamental nature of this app that drives me crazy. I do not like it

Disappointed. Very disappointed in sound quality when using Bluetooth and when connected to phone calls. Will be returning to Costco unless I can find a way to improve sound quality. I expected these to sound similar to having a good quality earbud in for music but that is not the case

Great concept-poorly designed. Works well when it works. Too many bugs with beeps and quirks all day long. Too easily disconnected from phone/aids. Drives me crazy.

Great idea but. Far from functional. I played with this a year now. And whatever was set on only 2 channels by the audiologist is how it stays. My aides still whistle and backfeed to a howl. Rooms of Elle talking make it impossible to hear, oh, and sitting at the dinner table with guests, just forget being in the conversation, as chewing my food sound is overwhelming. No adjustment can b made.

Cuts off. Don’t waste your money. The first one failed, the replacement has failed. They asked for $100 to repair the design flaw. It cuts off after 2 minutes or so. As there is no indication that it has failed, one knows when the other party asks “are you are still there?” Equipment fails. How does the vender deal with it? These people are money from their failure. I’m stunned that Costco still deal with them.

Good, but could be better. The ability to control the hearing aids with my phone is awesome! I love that. Being able to change the directional focus is cool, but not super noticeable. Sometimes the directional setting changes on its own. You can’t control the volume of the phone sounds & you hear a lot more phone sounds than you do with just the plain phone. The dongle’s ability to pick up my voice is AMAZING! Even under my shirt & coat outside, I can be heard just fine. The streaming audio sound quality in the car is mediocre. The indicators that show hearing aid battery strength don’t seem to work at all.

Terrible. Terrible performance. If you want to stream music or movies be advised the sound quality is terrible, like an old transistor radio from the 60's. You will be disappointed When using streaming for gps on smart phone there appears to be a delay and directions come on mid sentence. Makes the navigation function worthless. Pretty much worthless for anything but phone calls, and the sound quality limits even this function . If I could give it a lower rating I would

iPhone compatibility. Looks like it hasn’t been upgraded in a long time. Doesn’t work well with my iPhone 7+. Worked much better with my 6+.

Poor rating. Inconsistent, unreliable very little technical support.

Jmanfeld. Poor interface. Difficult to navigate.

Flips. I set this to auto and it flips to music of its own accord. Turn it on at start of day and sometime later it is disconnected and requires time to open the app. to see what the status is and reset all over again. The aids my be fine but the app needs fine tuning.

Terrible. Should be less than 1 star. Difficult to connect with both the Smart Connect device and the hearing aids.

Consumer. This would be a great app IF it would stay connected. It doesn't matter if my phone is in my pocket, it keeps losing the Bluetooth connection & I have to pair it time and time again. This needs to be fixed.

Not ready for PRIME TIME. I am reviewing the app with a Kirkman 7 aid and a TV transmitter Expect the TV transmitter and any apps such as WAYZ to drain the battery so that you must recharge twice a day. After a phone call it hangs on the phone. Sometimes I can return it to Auto by turning it off. Other times I simply have to wait. I am disappointed that the unit decides what mode to use. We were in a restaurant and I programed for a narrow hearing range ahead to listen to my wife. Smart Connect decided I should listen to the loud party behind me. I should be able to control my aids.

Less than 1 star. Why does this app have a Demo mode? Why would a regular used NEED to demo this app? This is poor programming by the owners. This app doesn’t connect to the Smart Remote, which doesn’t connect to the hearing aids, then it puts you in demo mode. WHY? Horrible work.

Great app for controlling hearing aids. Works great with you Reston hearing aids.

Too many issues. Squeals too much when using app, switches modes unnecessarily on its own, quits working too frequently and have to delete and reinstall to work. Etc, etc, etc. Very nice when it works right.

Stop the beep. Will drop connection all the time and the only way to connect is in Bluetooth app on phone. Also annoying beep drive me nuts every time my m phone does something For god sakes allow us to turn off the beep Not sure why it dies it so often why at all. Should only beep when a push a button on the neck piece

Recent Changes. App works well and adding mike pattern adjustment in standalone mode is a good addition. It would be great to see hearing aid battery status in standalone mode as the next improvement.

Needs Improvement. I wish I can adjust the volume between the left and right. Additionally, I wish the functions available in Automatic mode/program are available in the other modes/ program.

Good idea but———. Maybe the aids maybe the device maybe the app but the system doesn’t really work as advertised

Easy to use.. Once you remember to delete ALL of your programs it connects every time!

Not reliable. Given the technology that is available today it is disgusting that Rexton partners with this product. The product constantly gets stuck on streaming and it is nearly impossible to get back to another program.

Stupid and noisy compared to what it could be.. Could be GREAT. For example imagine hitting the MAIN CENTER button on the neck loop dongle and talking to Siri on an iPhone or Google speech on the Androids. But it doesn't. Imagine the hearing aids being QUIET while you are switching iPhone apps, getting a text, or turning the iPhone screen off. BUT THAT QUIET CAN'T BE HAD. Instead you'll suffer annoying beeps and tone sequences of no particular logic or usefulness. Imagine if like Alexa or Siri or google speech you very smart hearing aids could whisper in your ear which program you are on, or which sound level you are at- in your own language! BUT NO THATS ALSO NOT TO BE HAD. Imagine if you could select among the full suite of available programs. That would be good too. Instead only you hearing aid professional can preload the few programs into the hearing aid. No help from our amazing smartphones allowed. Is it stupidity or lack of energy and courage that makes these hearing aid apps, for sivanto's ones are NOT UNTYPICAL. Why is the industry foisting off these very dumb and barely functional apps on hearing aid users? Get into new age already! So primitive! The hearing aid are great. The smartphone connectivity is barebones. Very cheap Bluetooth headphones and speakers do as well. Or better.

Like...could use some work. I love the ability to use this app with my hearing aids. I feel that it could use some improvements. Overall I really enjoy the app!

Smart connect app,. This app is the most annoying app I have ever used, constant beeping and sound changes drive me crazy. Why it dose it I have no idea. Pleas make it stop.

Good when it's working correctly. Find I have to re-pair my devices over & over. Right now app tells me I'm all connected but app not controlling devices or letting me hear phone or videos on phone! Frustrating and not intuitive.

Very bad!!!. 3 years using it and I can not stand another day. Many problems have given me and many times I have returned for change or arrangement.

Seriously frustrated. I bought this with my new hearing aids in January. So far I have returned the Bluetooth four times. And replaced each time. It keeps cutting out when you turn your head to the right or left. It also frequently drops the call or signal. And doesn't hold a charge. I'm really frustrated. My ancient Bluetooth Motorola 500. That's probably 15 years old. Is more reliable today then this Bluetooth. Although it does have a couple of good features. You can set it for different settings. Like being in a live performance, adjust the volume while you're on a call. One star is barely what I can get. My hearing aid dispenser at Costco. Has contacted tech support several times and they seem to be unaware of some of these issues. Yet when I look at reviews I see all the issues I'm been having. But after these reviews. I don't see any comments from tech-support to be issues. Or evidence they are trying to improve.

Hard to connect. Continues to be troublesome, a real failure.

Rexton Emerald, and ipad. Adjustments to volume / tone don’t stay, they revert back on their own.

Doesn’t work. Keeps locking up and force quitting when I touch the settings.

Screws up. Have had only 24 hrs. Has needed to reconnect several times, and has now dumped all of the different programs. The only one is transmitter and is only connected to one of my hearing aids.

Pretty good. Pretty good, a little finicky when working with a TV transmitter. It breaks the Bluetooth connection off a lot. It sure helps me to hear when watching Video though. Great value compared to most of the other brands.

New user. Very disappointed. It takes multiple attempts to connect and about half the time it doesn't connect at all.

Smart Connect. This app is great when it is working but unfortunately it keeps disconnecting from my hearing aids and I don't know it until my phone rings, it will also fade in and out during a call. When I am driving the disconnect is very bad because I cannot reconnect it to answer business calls until I am at my destination . Sometimes it takes two or three times to connect the app to my phone , once connected I have to use the repair feature to connect the app to my hearing aids . This app. needs a serious reconfiguration .

Adequate but a little tricky. I find the app useful. It’s a little finicky if you alternate between Bluetooth and stand alone, but once you figure it out by trial and error, it works fine. The app is well worth the free download once you get used to it.

Why?. This app looked good at the beginning, but after a couple of months of use it’s flaws were readily apparent. As a systems designer and programmer for the past 40 years, it is obvious that the developers of this app stopped early with their support. Or was it dictated by the hearing aid manufacturer? Hearing aids last a long time, just like computers, cars, and people. Stopping support after a few years speaks volumes. The hearing aids will last longer than this attempt at what could have been an outstanding app.

Useless. Can’t do a thing with the app because the smart connect is useless. I am now on my second one and the battery life has degraded to only two hours and I can’t get the battery replaced.

Hearing app. This app is very helpful I like to see them put individual volume control on the hearing aid app. thank you

Not So Great. There are some benefits to this app, maybe the biggest is hearing Google map directions directly in your ear and streaming music. The app itself looks great but skips for desired settings and no way to mute noises for typing, notifications etc without muting ringer entirely. For $2k not sure this is gonna be a keeper. Will ride out the full six month trial.

This app is worthless..... Even though my hearing aids, phone and Smart Connect device are all connected and working, when I open the app to make an adjustment, I get an error screen saying the hearing aids aren't connect. It has options for retry and demo. When I push retry, I get beeps in both ears, but still get the error message. It keeps me from using any of the app's functionality. What a complete piece of crap.

Works intermittently. This app is potentially excellent but there are too many error messages indicating that the device is not connected when in fact it often is. Bugs, updates whatever; I just ain't happy

Poor. If only it worked all the time

Streaming mode. I use it a lot every day for audiobooks There is definitely an issue in that after leaving streaming(turning off an audio book for example) it does not revert always to automatic mode , but stops in streaming mode and the hewing aid is then very muted This is very annoying as then need to go thru the whole demo mode scenario to switch streaming mode off so that I can get my hearing aid to work normally

Smart connect. A simple to use program, and offers convenience in adjusting volume in each of the listening modes. Now if my phone or tablet would connect with hearing aids without use of a transmitter on a lanyard... that would be super cool!

Loosing connection. After awhile the sound goes in and out. And sounds like the sound is coming out of a big pipe “hollow”

Works great!. No issues and does exactly what it's supposed to do with hearing aids. I love that I have control with the app, especially the direction of sound. Great technology!

Apple Watch app needed please. I am enjoying this app I would like to have an apple watch extension please the only complaint I have is that the app disconnects too often

Works well. I have been using this system for a couple of years now. I am very pleased with the controls. I use a microphone transmitter when wife and I go out which allows for discreet conversation. What could be improved would be stability of bluetooth connection, allow connection without fob on lanyard and have aids auto connect to phone.

Bad ap. This is a bad app. It doesn't hold the settings. Locks up in demo mode. Bad.

New user. Very poor App for IPhone , takes multiple retry so to connect

Doesn't even rate a Meh. Only got it to work once. Since then all I ever get is it can't find the ear pieces even though the other smart connexx app controls them just fine. Just useless.

Terrible. Almost worthless. Rarely connects and when it does, it frequent loses the connection. I can only use it as a smart remote (i.e., no Bluetooth).

Don't like this app at all!. I hate this app. How poorly put together. Works sometimes other times not so good. Constantly have to re-pair, hearing aid beeps for no reason. Even though I'm listening to TV in my ears app says not connected. App is HARD to move around in! Why is there no main menu?? This app may be the reason I return these hearing aides! Always get message that App is not compatible to hearing aides! Why???

Smart connect review. Horrible

Needs work. This app seems very glitchy. I'm not sure if it's the app or the smart connect but you have to repeat the same steps several time to get a response.

Arrghhhh. 3rd review, because first two wiped out because someone had the same name but this was not clear until I had typed everything :( Far from perfect, connects and disconnects, battery monitor not accurate and should tell you approx how much time is left but does not, needs major upgrade

Smart Connect. I had my smart command for about 5 months and during this time I had problem connecting with my hearing aid at one time it wouldn't the battery wouldn't charge and the ends of neck loop broke. Cheap plastic and should be rubber.

Drains iPhone battery.. Nice having verification of volume and modes for hearing aids. Checking battery status on aids and SmartConnect is useful, too. Response to inputs is more dependable than earlier. Still seems to require re-pairing each time app starts. I would like to run it routinely, but it Really depletes phone battery, so I rarely start this app.

Barely functional. In the five days I've had this app, I've noted the following: 1. No security for pairing the device to the iPhone 2. Streaming would be nice if the quality of sound I'm getting was good. Music sounds terrible. 3. App keeps reporting it can't find the HAs until I take the batteries out of both HAs. Not user friendly!

Awful. Works half the time at best. Won't save settings.

Smart Connect. Frequently have trouble connecting. Can't figure out how to consistently "turn it off" when I want to activate the speaker. Great concept. Needs improvement.

They do not care!. This is a app that could be a life changing tool. Some of the issues are most of the time it does not detect the hearing aids on the phone. I have to manually turn it on to use my hearing aids for the phone call. It will not transition to the Bluetooth in my car and back to the phone. That would be a nice option. I bought the Apple phone because I was told it worked better than my Samsung Galaxy 9+, reality is it worked better with android. Really disappointed with the developers, look at the last time they updated the app. Robert

Inconsistent performance. The Smart Connect keeps losing contact with the aids. It is very difficult to reestablish a connection. The iPhone battery drains much more quickly using Bluetooth for this. It has great promise, but very unreliable performance. The TV transmitter was terrific, but one of the two I purchased didn't work. After three weeks, I still have trouble using it with my iPhone in part because of the connectivity issues. This would be a great device if it provided consistent performance.

Smart Connexx unreliable. Bought at Costco in May 2015, quit by mid-June. Replacing, but it takes a lot of complaints at Wilmington nc. Mgrs don't follow-up, have to be repetive to get response. Costco tough on seniors.

Inconsistent. Consistent trouble connecting to my iPhone. Constantly re-syncing connection to earpieces.

Dysfunctional. Though the features show some promise, the app needs a bunch of work to be of use. Can never seem to have it stay working with my hearing aids. Have to remove batteries or turn on and off my Smart Connect or do both to get them to work. Sometimes that doesn't even work. Also the volume is deafening when my phone rings; my audiologist and manufacturer says that I am the only one to ever have this problem. I doubt it. Hope they get it fixed soon or I may be forced to return my aids and pursue another manufacturer. Edited 7/29/18: The Smart Connect has been almost useless the 2+years I’ve owned the hearing aides & SC. The latest is that no one can hear me speaking and I have to transfer the call back to iPhone or speakers—a big inconvenience when trying to multitask. I have reset the SC and no difference. The must be quite a few similar problems other users are having because I have to wait LONG periods to get an appointment with my Costco audiologist. My advice: hearing aides are okay but connectivity to IPhone and Smart Connect is rated below one-star. Wish I had returned them just after buying and I would likely not be dealing with headaches for so long.

Works great!. The app is great! I love the control you have using this while able to keep the actual remote hidden under jacket or shirt. It would be phenomenal to make this available for the Apple Watch. 👍

All right when it works. Have to reconnect 3 or 4 times a day, does not remember blue tooth connections and auto connect. Bad connection if you place your phone to far away like in your pocket.....

Sad performance. I have had this for 2 weeks. During that time I have been able to connect one phone call and to not answer any phone calls through the device and software. Makes the total product not worth the price and definitely not worth the trouble. As I said, sad performance!

Good for some things, not for others. I've been using this app with my Rexton Trak 42 hearing aids for a couple of weeks. I've found for the most part that when I'm out in the world I leave tghe mic/necklace at home and don't use the app, as the volume controls on the aids themselves are adequate for adjusting in most common situations. Many of the features of the app simply do not function at all: volume slide, bass/treble slide, battery level indicators, to name three. What does work for me is streaming radio and podcasts. The device will stream the music on my iPhone as well, but the quality of the sound is distressingly poor (I'm particular about that). As far as the phone function goes, I have answered a few calls via the remote when I was wearing the necklace, but truthfully it just seems easier to answer the phone the old-fashioned way of putting it up to my ear. Making the connections between the aids and the mic and the app is sometimes tricky but often not. In the long run, what the industry needs is a GOOD Bluetooth connection directly from the aids to an app that WORKS and with speakers that are much higher quality. May take a while.

Love it!. Excellent hands-free use. Now I don't need to scramble around to find my phone when it rings. I just push the button and stream directly to my hearing aids! It's so light I don't even know I'm wearing it! Thank you!!!!

Needs improvement. I just got my Rexton HAs so I might need more time for a more accurate review. For the moment, it seems that the pairing is working pretty well when it comes to streaming. Yet, this app seems to miss some basic and important features. 1) I wish it had a reset option (the older Rexton remote had a "home" button that would reset program and volume); 2) when I access the app, it shows that the program is set to automatic, even if I had previously set it to something else with the manual controls on the HA. Again, the older remote was displaying the program and volume as set in the HA. Now i do not know what happens if, for example, I use the app to increase the volume... Would that add to the previous manual volume increase? I hope these issues will get addressed soon.

Great features, when it works. I have programs for Automatic, Noisy, streaming audio, and streaming music. I leave the app on Automatic mot of the time, but every time I use my iPhone, even to just read or send email, I get the climbing tones, and the app switches from Automatic to streaming. Then it decides to switch back, and if I start typing again, it switches to streaming again. Drives me crazy. Almost every morning I have to reconnect the Bluetooth and sometimes I have to re-pair the "dongle" to the hearing aids. Pain in the rear end. Love the features, and the control over the microphone pattern. Wish it is was possible to control the volume in each ear separately.

So-so. I've used smart connect for abt 8 months. The connection thru my iPhone works reasonably well. Other functionality not so well. Three stars out of 10.

Important but clunky. Confusing and slow to connect and reconnect. Needs a lot of work. Reviewer who said audiologist said he was the only person with problems, was lying. I've had it not connect then reconnect repeatedly. A really poor and expensive piece of technology.

Bluetooth interface. Works great with are Rexton hearing aids. Especially like it when driving and a call comes in. Just push the button to pick up. Also nice for listening to tunes or videos and not annoying others.

Blocks negative reviews. Terrible

Update. The first app was better. Lots of Bluetooth problems and the beeping is driving me crazy.

Mr. Poorly designed implemented App. The connect device will not stay paired with my iPhone 6. I have use the connect device for six months I've only been able to answer the phone with it once. The connect App. does account for 75% of my battery usage each day, I think I would be better off with two tin cans and a long string. It would be cheap and more reliable and that's no saying much.

Not so good. I would say that this app is average to low. It is not that user friendly and has a lot of glitches. Maybe my unit is defective or something but I found it hard to use and response is not always as expected. At this very moment it keeps beeping as if reaching the low volume level but no matter what I do it keeps on beeping. It may stop for a while but it goes back and the app does not provided any indication of what is going on or anything. A lot of improvement is still needed.

User John I. It works, but it pretty clunky. There's a lot of extra beeps and clicks that are not necessary. The page layout needs to be readdressed to be more user-friendly. The hearing aids drop out from time to time. The medallion runs out of power from time to time. Battery level indicators are useless. Medallion locks me out from time to time and won't take inputs.

4 stars. I'm giving this app 4 stars, I have experienced beeping and don't know why and it has cut out on me. If those issues were fixed I would give it 5 stars!

PLEASE FIX THIS APP. Just got smart connect yesterday with my devices and it's terrible. Too many problems to list. It's driving me crazy with the sound levels in/out, constant beeping, etc. I'll give the rest of the week until my follow up with the tech but if this is how it behaves it's going back. I guess that means devices go back too since I want devices I can control from my iphone.

Works, but has glitches. The basic functionality for this device is all there - changing programs, volume, and microphone field. However, there are several things wrong with it that should be easily fixed: 1). If you go out of range of the Bluetooth device (your phone), the Smart Connect often does not reconnect to the phone. You have to manually reconnect in the Bluetooth menu. 2). Every sound/tone/click on your phone puts the device in streaming mode. So if you get a text, email, tweet, etc., off into streaming mode it goes. 3). Every time the device goes into streaming mode, the hearing aids give you a 4-tone notice. And then a one-tone notice when they drop out of streaming. So, suggestion: Please don't put it into streaming mode for alert sounds. Other H/As I've owned (Starkey, for one), gives you control over this. Secondly, I don't think the 4-tone notice is required when going into streaming - you're going to hear the stream right away anyway, which is sufficient notice. One more suggestion: the nice button that lets you answer the phone should also be used to wake up Siri.

Poor App. Rexton should be ashamed of this poor app. Sometimes it connects with my Aids , sometimes not. It is very inconsistent. When it does connect, everything else works poorly. When I complete a call I have to press the device twice: once to end the call, and another time to get back to my hearing aids. When I read texts, Facebook and other apps, it beeps and turns hearing aids off. The device beeps constantly for no reason. It is a terrible software program that needs a lot of improvement. But Rexton knows this because of all the bad reviews and the complaints from hearing centers. And still Rexton allows this horrible app to continue. How sad.

Good , need improvement. Great to have with my hearing aids. Bluetooth sync need improvement need to hold Smart Connect device close to hearing aid to make connection otherwise won't connect. If batteries show percentage (%) remains be great.

Since this is the ‘only’ app that connects to my hearing aides, I find that to be a BIG Problem! 2018-10-04 YOU STILL HAVE NOT FIXED THIS PROGRAM This application is critically necessary for those of us who use the linked hearing aides along with the TV transmitter! THIS application is a Disaster on a Good Day! Volume control is NON-Existant! REDESIGN the Whole Thing . . . THEN and ONLY put it back on the market . . . UDATE: 2017-05-24 Still NO Change in product capability on my end, and . . . I have NEVER been more disappointed in a product in my life . . . sent emails to Co. . . . and '...they will get back to me...' 2017-08-14 STILL NO CHANGE ❗️ Product still Not workin correctly . . . 2018-08-26 . . . This Product is Still a ‘thought process’ jokingly believing it is a ‘viable’, ‘functioning’, ‘commerical’ “product” . . . again, just a ‘dream state’. . .

Works great on my iPhone 5s. Did not work on my windows phone

Smart Connect. I have had my hearing aids for 4 going on 5 years. ($7500.00) later and 4 or 5 Smart Connect devices I am exploring other options. I’m deaf without the HA and I really need the device for phone calls. Last time it was under warranty and the company still charged me. Anyone have any other devices they would recommend??
