I use in door to door work. Our area has a lot of foreign speaking residents. I use this app to be able to communicate clearly with those who do not speak English. I love the ability to put favorites together so I can learn a simple presentation.

Wonderful Learning Tool!. Thank you brothers and sisters for all the hard work on this app. It’s truly wonderful when using other languages in the ministry and when wanting to expand our knowledge. It’s teaches in very easy to understand way, and I truly love the new feature of being able to explore a picture to learn more words or phrases!

JW language. I love this app it lets you to choose the language you want to learn language but since I wanted to learn Marshallese to help another congregation I wasn’t able to study the Marshallese language

Helps me learn Portugues. I am 8 and this app helps me learn Portuguese because I am in a Portuguese congregation so it is such a blessing from Jehovah and thank you brothers and sisters for helping make this app ^-^ and I will continue using JW language

Be Content with Jehovah’s Provisions. This excellent app is fantastic for language learning. It’s versatility, consistent updating, and quality, (no problems with it’s structure in use), are superb!! Be willing to follow direction and use only our official aps. There’s no need to risk ‘contamination’ from other apps, designed to look like they can be trusted. Some are using copyrighted material from our organization. The crosswords, and other entertainments can be shared in real life. But let’s be content and loyal to Jesus and Jehovah, and avoid the pitfalls in unauthorized apps.

Truly a blessing.. Thank you brothers and sisters for making this lovely app for learning different languages. I know it takes a while for anyone to add many different languages to an app, especially when there are so many, but I cannot wait for any future updates. One that I would look forward to most is sign language, since I’m learning that at the moment. Once again thank you and, as my title says, this is truly a blessing from Jehovah. 😊🙏🏻

I love this so much!. I am super happy with this app! Pretty easy to use. I use this to learn basic Spanish phrases, in case I run into anyone who speaks Spanish. I have one request though. If they could have ASL on here that would be amazing! I’ve been wanting to learn sign language for the longest time and I have a friend who can “speak” ASL.

Great. I love this app while learning Swahili but now I’m trying to twi and there is not much out there. It would be nice to find twi on the jw Language app. Thank you for considering. You sister.

Include ASL. There are so much videos already. It is a matter of associating meaning. Ideas like explaining texto would not be too difficult. I would even be willing to assist in the process. The tools are there.

Japanese Kanji Turn off?. Hello, I am currently learning Japanese and I noticed that while using the app there is no way to view Japanese without the kanji. As a result I have to rely more on my listening skills and my reading skills don’t really get to improve because I can’t read kanji. Is there a way to maybe add a setting to only view Japanese in hiragana and katakana and take out the kanji? It would really help so that I could read the phrases. Thank you so much

I like the app but.... I like the app but you HAVE to download every thing to use it. Also you can really learn from it. I’m learning Portuguese and I can already read it!! But I also don’t like that if I don’t have WiFi, I can’t use it. If you download it, make sure you have WiFi to use it, or else it won’t work. Also, if your a Jehovah’s Witnesses, you can learn small sentences to preach. If your NOT a Jehovah’s Witnesses I invite you to be one!!! And please enjoy this app!!!!!!!!!!

love the app but some improvements please. hello! I use the Jw Language App to learn Korean but I was wondering if you could add something to ‘slow down’ the pronunciation of the language? I feel like the app goes way too fast when trying to learn new words or simple sentences, it’s hard to catch how-to pronounce or say anything when it goes too fast! please consider this! thank you :)

Kinyarwanda Language. I love the language app and have used it a lot. Now I am in the Kinyarwanda language class and just putting that out there😊. I should could use it right now. Thank you for all the help this app has been for me.

I Love this app. I love this app because I am one of Jehovah’s Witness that wants to learn a different language and I am 11. Years old and have been in the truth my whole life and yes I do learn Spanish at school but we don’t learn things about Jehovah so this really helps thank you brothers for this and thank you Jehovah

Wonderful Fun Learning app!!!. This is a wonderful app for kids who would like to know a diffrent language but do it in a fun and safe way. It has hundreds of languages to choose from! I love this and I am 11 and a girl and there is not alot of safe things in the world. and i am not really intrested in reading but there are reading things on hear and it is so fun and that help me love to read. So thank you brothers who created this app I know u did it with Jehovahs help!🤗😀

More languages, please.. When can we expect more languages, including dialects? My son (the one writing this review) wants to learn dialect that his grandparents speak, but he wants to learn it from the brothers. Please add more languages (especially Garifuna) !!! :)

This is one of my all time favorite apps.. I want to extend and tell you how much I appreciate this app and how much gratitude I have because it. As someone who was in a foreign language congregation it helped me tremendously. I still use it today for Chinese. Lately, I have been practicing Spanish on it too. Anytime I see a new language I get so excited. This app is better than so many other language apps. The display, the ease, and comfort of how it is made is beautiful. I truly appreciate all the time,effort,energy, and hard work you all have contributed. Keep up the amazing fine work and hope to see even more languages in the future.

We have a lot of Somali in our territory and there aren’t really any apps to learn it. I want to be able to speak with them. I know you’re all hard at work, thank you very much!!!

Love this. Would love to see numbers, months, days of that week added in Romanian. Also would love to see ASL but that might be a reach. This is building my vocabulary and I'm told by Romanian speakers the I'm learning great pronunciation (unlike other apps)💛

Learning out of love. I was feeling helpless & overwhelmed because of the war in Ukraine. Wanting so much to help my brothers & sisters & any refugees who may come to live in my area. Learning Ukrainian out of love has been made easy because of the love shown by those hard at work on this wonderful app! Thank you brothers! May Jehovah continue to bless this work.

Excellent. This is an excellent app that can be used to learn many languages. Every month or so I find new languages and it even helps you with language grammar.

Marthaji. I sincerely hope and pray that Gujarati will be added to the language options soon! We have thousands of people in the Chicago suburbs who speak Gujarati and some don’t know more than five words in English. We have a small pregroup and amazingly we have one brother who speaks this language! Very grateful but need help!

About Japanese. I would like it if you could add Japanese in Hiragana. Having it just in Kanji makes it harder to remember how to write in other dialects. It’s not necessary, but it would be a big help.

The app is perfect. I understand everyone wants to make the app better, but I’m going through so many of your comments and my goodness you forget this is a FREE app it’s something basic to interact with people of different languages in our territory so we don’t just show up to bug them hand leave because we can’t communicate. Mean while we get their info if interested and pass it along to someone who can actually speak the language and help them. If you want something more complex go to school or buy a program that fits your needs and desires. The brothers are trying as hard as they can with their time and resources to give us something special FOR FREE don’t take advantage of the society like that.

I am a 12 year old boy and this language app is good so that by the time I am 15 I will already learning a language and be (with Jehovah’s help) pretty good at speaking it to interested ones in the field ministry. I have not been able to decide between what language I should learn but this app limits how many languages you can learn by having I think there is about 12 or less/more languages I just love it. Stellar App - Japanese request. This is certainly a great learning resource primarily because of all the specialized vocabulary and how to talk about spiritual matter in another language. However it would mean the world to have furigana over the Japanese kanji or at least a toggle to visualize words in hiragana too. I know that as is we are in touch with how actual Japanese works but for learners it slows us down having to look up kanji combinations. Also many learning tools, even those aimed at native Japanese speakers, space words out a little bit to help students with their grammar and reading. That would be a significant improvement to the Japanese lessons as well. That said, I couldn’t thank you enough for all the time and effort put into this application. May Jehovah continue to bless you richly.

Excellent!. I'm helping some brothers to learn Spanish so they can serve where the need is greater and this app is very useful! As a language teacher all I can say is that this is an excellent tool to learn the essentials of a language. Thank you for your hard work brothers!

I love it. It’s a blessing form Jehovah, I love the app. I now master how to say baby in Spanish. My mom speaks creole so it helps me to. I love it, when I want to learn some stuff or play a game with Spanish like seeing what one is a coat what one is a magazine and what one is food. I recommend it if you want to make some comments or something. I NEVER KNEW THERE WAS MORE THAN 50 LANGUAGES! I KEEP SQUIRRELING TO FIND SPAINISH AND ITS AWSOME!

LOVE IT but. As a witness I personally use this app. I’m teaching my younger sister ASL and I thought the JW language would have it because I learned all the French I know on there. Sadly, the app didn’t have it, I wish the app had more languages like the website and JW library. Anyways, that you brothers and sister for configuring this app! 💕💞

I’m still learning to understand how it works but thanks to it I’ve learned a lot and I have been able to perfect my English and make a faster progress at learning my third language: Korean. I Love this. I am in love with this app since I wanted to learn Spanish for years. I would love for for American Sign Language to be added on as a learning language.

JW Language is an amazing app!. The only improvement I can think of is the ability to change the font size. Otherwise, I love this app!

Add ASL. It would be wonderful if there was a way to learn Sign Language to use in service and talking to others. I don't know if it would be better to add to the Language app or the Sign Language app. Either way it would be 🙌 amazing if it could be added as a language option.

Teaching and Expanding. I started working with the Language app when it first came out so that I could enhance my Russian studies to be able to speak with interested ones at the doors. Now I’m in an area where Spanish is a primary language. Once again I’ve turned to the language app to enhance my ministry skills. This app must be good but.... This app must be great to learn other languages in JW terms by other brothers compliment but it doesn't work on my phone :( . Help!. I am so grateful for this app as there are a lot of Spanish in my territory and it would be great to learn Spanish, but when I click on the play button to listen to the pronunciations, it wouldn't play! I've tried rebooting my iPad as I have sound issues on it, but games and other sounds work fine. If it's a bug in the app, it would be great if it could be updated. Thanks brothers and sisters 😊❤️

Great app, would you please consider some added features.. The flashcards would be good with a randomisation feature. Also for Chinese, the flashcards on the iPhone only show characters, no pinyin. And it would be great to either have the flashcards on different subjects combined in one place. Thank you so much for all the hard work. - Your brother Andreas

Missing important expressions. I wish the brothers would have expressions such as: I would like to invite you to our assembly/convention/memorial. Jesus gave us the command to make disciples. We must have faith in Jehovah when we pray. Our work is legal in this country. Also, currently there’s no word about Bethel. Hopefully, that will come soon.

Needed to reinstall but now perfect. After the last update I had an issue where only a few phrases would play. I updated to the latest operating system and completely reinstalled. It now works fine. Love the flash cards and the way you can loop the phrases. well done! A beautiful tool for the ministry!

Fix for error. For those who speak English experiencing an error where the languages do not display, go to settings>language>ipad language>English I had mine set to Australian English and it would not work. Hope this helps some of you!

Brother. I had a problem when I first downloaded the app, the problem that I found was the language the phone is set to, I had mine set to English(Australia) and the app didn't work, I had to set the language of the phone to English English, then it worked. You can do this by Step 1. Open settings Step 2. Open general Step 3. Open language and region Step 4. Open iphone language Step 5. Tap English English. Finished It's a great app!!!

Works on my iPad but not I phone.. My wife has same iPhone 5s as mine and it loads on her phone but not mine. Exact same model. It also loads on both iPad3 and iPad Air. But not on my iPhone. It downloads but you can't select anything. It just freezes. We are running all devices on iOS8. It is great when it works. Please fix.

Can't see the primary language?. I had the same problem but it solves with being the primary language of your mobile or tablet in English, not even English(Australia) Hope you enjoy this amazing apps too!!! Step:settings->general->language ®ion->iPad language and select English (if you are using iPad)

Excellent tool for language learning. Intrinsic tool for learning languages with an excellent layout and design that makes it so simple to use. Not to mention there are audio samples and linear translations for easy reference. Thank you very much.

Can't use it for some reason. I've tried the suggestions about changing language to English, I still can't get it to load the foreign language. Any other suggestions?

Has a bug :(. Looks awesome and seems to operate fine on some friends devices. But for me I can't choose the primary language. In fact where the languages are on the right side I have the lines but not one language appears. I know it will be sorted I'm running iOS 7.1. Will try an update then see what happens. But still looks great of what I have seen!,

Great but one problem. Thank you so much brothers for this AMAZINGLY tool. But when I open the app it doesn't let me pick a primary language which is step 1 so really I can't do anything on the app please can this problem be fixed asap thank you

Issues. Just downloaded this morning. Not sure if it's my phone or the app but it opens and when I click to choose my primary language, it doesn't display languages and I'm unable to go back :-/

No language choices.. Thanks so much for this app, I've been learning tagalog on and off for a while now and it's been difficult with other language apps and websites. This is such a great idea, I just can't choose a language.

App not working on iPhone 6. Dear Brothers Unfortunately this app isn't working on an iPhone 6. It gets locked after choosing your primary language. No options to move forward. Hope you can update soon. So appreciate your hard work!

This is how to get it to work!!!. Hi everyone who is having troubles with the selection of language. I just read Monique M from Australia (i am too!) and that suggestion worked. You need to change the iPhone or iPad language to English only not English UK or Australia etc. go to settings, language and region, and reset the iPhone or iPad language to straight English. Great app.. Great app. So useful. Easy to use. Can only download one language at a time which is ok but would be better to select all the ones you want at same time. FYI: App crashes on my iPad mini since it had material in the Low German 'grammar' section added; but works fine otherwise, & on my iPhone there are no problems. Even after Dec. 13, 2019 when I did the update, the app crashes still when trying to access the items in the grammar section. 😕

So practical and enjoyable to use. The newer updates add an incredibly practical aspect to an already amazing app. Really helps in learning useful phrases for the ministry (in Japanese in my case)!

Sound problems. I'm also having sound problems. I've deleted and reinstalled the app but it still can't get the sound to work. Anyone else having these problems? I hope we get an update soon.

Great app!. This is a great app for learning to preach in another language. We would be lost without it. Would it be possible to suggest that an option be added that would allow the user to hide the phonetic equivalent that displays under the words and phrases in the target language? Thanks for all your hard work on this app!

Mots incomplets. Merci pour l’application. Bien fait. Je l’utilise pour apprendre l’espagnol. Dernièrement j’ai remarqué dans la section « grammaire » qu’il y a certains mots qui sont incomplets. Par exemple : « il y a quatre livres sur l’étagère » se traduit par « hay cuatr libros en e estante ». Je ne sais pas si c’est à cause que j’utilise un iPad.

update for macbook compatability. App works great. however, it should be updated to be compatible with Macbooks. It should also include a few other languages. such as hebrew, yiddish, or aramaic. Since they are holy/litturgical languages

DOES NOT WORK ON IPHONE 12 PRO MAX. This app was great when it worked. It does not work on my i phone 12 or ipad pro. My kids were regular users of this app and its been months that it doesn’t work. When taking a test on anything it starts acting up and answering on its own. Please update
