I love this app!. Papago is the most reliable translation app I’ve used! It would be even better if, in addition to the translation, it offered the dictionary form of your conjugated words like it does on the website. :) For example, when you search ‘몰라요,’ it would be more convenient if the words ‘I don’t know’ and ‘모르다’ show up. ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 이용한 번역 앱들 가운데 바로 파파고가 제일 믿을 수 있는 앱입니다! 번역이 아주 좋은데 파파고 웹사이트에서처럼 단어를 검색할 때 사전 형식도 포함되면, 파파고 앱이 더 좋을 것 같습니다. :) 예를 들면 ‘몰라요’ 검색할 때 ‘I don’t know’하고 ‘모르다’고 단어들 같이 나타나면 더 편하게 될 것 같습니다.

A TREMENDOUS HELP. This app keeps getting better and better! I am very satisfied with how helpful it is. Recently they’ve added the romanization of the Korean words which is good if you’re a beginner but once you learn the alphabet it is unnecessary and I wouldn’t suggest relying on it. I can’t think of anything I would do to change it or something that would make it better. I would definitely recommend this to EVERYONE!!!

Excellent translations. I'm a Kpop Stan and I wasn't doing so well translating bubble messages with google translate, this app has been of great use to me and it's really good.

Best at Korean to English!!. I recently moved to Korea and PAPAGO has truly been an asset to my survival. Papago has been the most effective at translating English to Korean and vice versa. Other translators have been unable to effectively form sentences in their correct order. If you plan on visiting Korea, GET THIS APP. Along with all the other NAVER apps ^^

Good but need some changes. Don’t get me wrong, the app is amazing but it just needs some new improvements. Maybe there could be more languished options and a detect language option?

Best Korean Translation to English App. I’m a student learning Korean at the intermediate level. This app makes Google Translate look obsolete in terms of performance. The translations on this app are more accurate and it also suggests other likely translations. It’s also very viewer friendly and fun. 100% recommend if you’re studying Korean.

Incorrect translations. Google is better, it differenciates the differet meanings for saying hello in korean. For example when You say hello google says 안녀하새요, when you say hi it says 안녕, showing formal and informal, but when u put in hey, hi, or hello in here, they all say 안녕하새요. It also mixes both informal and formal words and doesnt tell u which is which, it gave me a formal form of bye then gave me a simple form of another. The translations are so wrong and im not even fluent, it adds so many unecessary words to the definition

Whoops!. At first I thought this app was a piece of crap. Then I realized I was trying to translate English into Japanese instead of the other way around. Easy to use, and accurate translations. 5 star

Wrong translations given too frequently. Trying to rely on this app for my job and have just become horribly disappointed in the fact that it is giving me incorrect translations and even different translations for the same word. Will be forced to look for a different app since this one has become untrustworthy for relaying important information for both party’s jobs

It doesn’t know what I’m saying. When I was saying something in another language Papago didn’t translate it right. It would say I said something totally different then what I said. Then I went to google and said the same thing and it translated exactly what I said in that language. And I find it funny how it said it was translated with google but worked totally different.

Great app!. I love this app. I find it way better than Google Translate, as it’s Korean/Japanese/Chinese translations are really true to form. It’s invaluable if you’re learning these languages or just want a quick word to look up. 고맙습니다 네이버는!

It used to be one of the best. I really liked this app because it was one of few that used the word in the right way but now almost all the words I enter are translated into Konglish . I don’t want to know how to say the English word with a Korean accent, I want the actual word.

Can finally support artists on Ridibooks. Thanks to this app I can finally support my favorite Korean artists on Ridibooks. It isn’t perfect but it does really well most of the time and even when the translations aren’t perfect they are still good enough for me to figure out what is being said. And it has no trouble translating text in bubbles in webtoons. I love this app so much!

Great update of translations!. Thanks for updates on the translation content , many of the translations errors have been fixed! :) One quibble! Chinese punctuation is displayed as halfwidth when it really should be full width. If you could fix that I would give the app full 5 stars. Thank you

Great app!. The best/most accurate translation app that I’ve used but I was wondering if there’s a way to get it to translate words into the Korean word instead of the English? I’m not sure how to explain it in the proper turn but take for example the word maroon. To my understanding, the word 자갈색 can mean maroon, brownish red, or russet but instead of giving me this word the app will just give me 마른 which is the cognate for maroon. Or if this isn’t an accurate example, here’s another. The word song is 노래 but instead of giving me that word the app might give me 송 which also sounds exactly like it looks instead of giving me the other translation. I’m bad at explaining especially since I’m not sure if my examples are accurate but I think my point came across. If there’s a way to stop getting cognates as translations then please let me know.

Doesn’t work. I don’t know if it’s just a temporary glitch for me, or it’s permanent, but whenever I click on the app, it force closes. I tried to re-download the app, as well as turning off my phone, but that didn’t work. It never did this before, so I find this ridiculous that it’s happening now, the time when I use it the most. Fix this right now!!

upgraded dictionary. can you please upgrade the dictionary on the app? im trying to learn korean and I use this app to tell me what certain things mean but often times it give strange, wrong or not enough translations. for example 일, this can mean work, day or the number 1 but when I type it in it only gives me the definition of “work” also same goes for the word 팔 which can mean either the number 8 or arm. a while ago I was on the app and it actually did give me more definitions for certain words like 일 and 팔 and I was really happy about that but for some reason that’s not there anymore and im wondering why. please upgrade the korean dictionary.

Overall pretty great. Ive been using this for a couple years now but the last couple months its completely stopped working. Doesnt matter which language or the length of the text, it doesnt translate anything. Not really sure whats going on, but I havent had any issue with it until then.

AmaZing app. I love this app ! It’s really amazing ! It helps me communicate with my korean friends who don’t speak English ! And the honorific addition was bomb ! But I wish the app could translate offline too , it would be amazing help !

Decline in Quality. When I first got this app, I was thrilled because the camera translations were so much smoother and made so much more sense than Google Translate’s. Unfortunately, the translations have been steadily declining in accuracy and quality over the last year or so, to the point where they don’t make any sense. I don’t know if they’re implementing a new AI tool or what, but its functionality is a shadow of what it was.

Super helpful. Very helpful app, it helped me work on my pronunciation because this app doesn’t sound like a robot saying words. Accurate translator too. Overall this app was a great experience and pretty accurate although sometimes it was wrong it was very helpful.

Really great. I really like this app and totally plan on continuing to use it in the future. In the future of the app development, I’d definitely like to see a real time translation and a way to turn change words to their “polite forms” for Japanese similar to the “honorifics” options in Korean.

Amazing. I go through app after app after app just to find the perfect app that meets my needs. The camera part works great. I can easily find translate something from my computer. Not sure if the translations are a hundred percent on the dot but otherwise it’s GREAT, I don’t have to pay to get camera translations

Most Useful Korean Translator!. I NEVER write review but I just had to commend this app for being so useful. It has a phrase book, honorific/casual switch, and has a vocal option to use if you want to say the phrase instead! I love this app, thank you Naver Papago!

Glitchy. I’ve had this app for a few months now and its worked well so far, but for the past week, it’s widgets have shown blank and the option to create a widget for papago does not appear on my phone?

Best app!. One of the best translating apps I've ever used. In comparison to other translators like Google that translate there a text literally, this app understand the general idea on the text and provides a more accurate representation/translation

The best for Chinese!. Many apps translate Korean or Japanese only and I can hardly find Chinese translator. But this app help a lot! Specially the camera option! Love it!! And the translations are great!

Love this app.. I love this app, but I wish they would add danish, since my friend is danish, he likes to try and teach me danish, but I learn better by exposure so he says danish words around me, but half the time I have no idea what he says so having that language on this app would be great!

Amazing, way better than google for Japanese. I’m trying to learn Japanese, and a lot of phrasing gets messed up in google. The photo text translator is amazingly accurate, and picks up on non standard fonts. Plus it will also show you the hiragana pronunciation for kanji. I only wish there were a way to import your results somehow into a database app like Jisho, since I’m attempting to grasp the nuances of the grammar and remember kanji

This is perfect. No need to update.. I love everything about this app and will continue to use it until my phone breaks down. I love everything about this app. From the fact that it is basically free and can use anything you want to translate. I usually see people restricting areas of an app until paid, which is the lost in frustrating thing. Normally I download an app that I need for one specific purpose. But when I see that option it costs BIG. When I use this app, I get what I need Easily and freely. I will continue to use apps from this creater.

Get this app!!!. This is the best translator app I have ever used by far. There is access to so many things without having to pay and I have yet to have gotten any ads. Not only is the translating free is also incredibly good and accurate. It has been so helpful to me!!!

This app doesn’t translate well anymore.. Since the last 2 updates, the app has become unreliable and doesn’t translate words correctly anymore. It inserts words that aren’t there ... Basically gibberish. You can get three or more different translations for the same word or sentence. This app used to be reliable and the translations were spot on, not so much anymore...What happened to the app I used to love? Please go back to the way it was before these last few updates.I don’t want to have to find another more reliable app to use to converse with my Korean friends.

Bug? Feature?. I use this app probably daily since it’s release since I work with multiple language speakers and need to check things often. Since a few updates ago, the Image Translation function seems to have a bug. Every time I open it, it resets to “Detect Language” even if I already had one selected. Maybe it’s an intentional feature, but if so it’s just annoying and time-consuming to select the language every single time. Having it reset to Detect Language also means it takes more and more time to analyze an image, much more time than it would if my selected language for typing were automatically selected for images like before. Please either A) change the settings to allow me to have it default to Detect Language or my selected languages; or, B) Have it default to whatever language is selected again like it was before. I’d give the app 5 stars if this feature weren’t creating a big hassle for me in literally a daily basis.

Image translation bug. This feature used to work fine before but recently stopped working. I can’t pull up pictures from my photo library to translate anymore. It still works if I take a picture on the app, but not if I try to translate a picture I have saved. Also, the detect language on the image translation has been buggy.

WHAT HAPPENED?!!!. I’m a bit annoyed lately with the app because it doesn’t translate well anymore. I have been using papago for two years to converse with my korean friend. I’m still learning korean so I can tweak a few words that are probably incorrect in translation but lately the app has been inserting words and names that aren’t even being used in the sentence. It would be translating nouns like older sister to a weird name. Instead of translating it 언니 as sister it would say Suji Joo. What da heck? It would be talking about watching a movie when I’m not even mentioning movies.

App won’t open. I have been using this app everyday for months now, but suddenly the app wouldn’t open at all and crashes everytime I attempt to open it. I tried updating, uninstalling and installing again, and it still will not work. However when it does work, it’s a very helpful app.

Best translator ever!🥹😀😃. Usually all the other translators fail on me but popago doesn’t it auto corrected my phrase, gives you some suggestions and is made so well.

Best app for Korean translations. From my experiences, I think Papago is slightly better than Google Translate at providing accurate translations of the Korean language in particular.

Great even in Nontraditional Settings. I have a family member that lives abroad who recently suffered a significant fall and required medical intervention. During my time in the hospital Papago was incredibly useful to get comprehensive updates from the medical staff and communicate with them in a quick and efficient way. In fact a number of staff members asked what this app was because it did such a great job translating complicated medical topics and jargon. The medical staff were life savers, but Papago was almost as critical because it helped bypass a lot of miscommunication due to the language barrier.

It works great as a translator but the audio translator needs some work. I think that as a text translator, this app excels is this sense. However, the audio translator can be very annoying to use because it will often translate one sentence or even phrase at a time, rather than waiting for you, or an entire audio clip, to finish completely. Despite this it does translate audio clips very well, I just wish it was better at understanding when I am done speaking.

Needs romanization for Korean. It’s a good app but could please add the romanization for Korean? I’m hard of hearing and I need to see the words as it it actually being said. Going off of my hearing doesn’t help. I need to see how actually pronounce the Hangul. ☺️☺️

Translation savior!. I used this app several times during my trip to South Korea (for translating Korean to English, and vice versa). The image translations was so helpful for reading signs and menus. The text/audio translate was a savior for the more complicated sentences. Highly recommend downloading when traveling to Korea!

Great. I wanted to read Korean novels, but didn’t have the skills to do so. Google translate did the job poorly with nonsensical translations. Evolly was better, but still had issues with sentence structure and names. Then, I came across Papago, which could translate sentences fluidly and make it easier to read page by page. I haven’t tried Japanese, but it would be fantastic on a future trip to Japan.

Much improved — now I recommend it. As a Korean learner I wasn’t happy with the earlier versions because the app lacked the background grammar the former Naver had. Now it does and it is a huge improvement when studying!

Suddenly the photos won’t import. I’ve used this app for years. It’s only gotten better and better. Today, when I tried to import a photo, it popped up photo/album, but nothing happened when I pressed them. I checked the settings and my iPad has access to the photos. Please fix this soon. Thanks!

Great app to use. I have been learning both Chinese (simplified) and korean for about 2 months now and I have been really enjoying it! In real life i have not been to be the person that loves to try and learn new things but... this app has caught my eye. I recommend everyone uses this app to learn new languages, even though there are a few languages to choose from. my feedback to the app makers is to add more languages. :)

Great Tool!. I’ve been learning Korean for almost a year now, and there has not been another translation tool better than Naver’s Papago. It breaks up the words and gives you individual definitions, and can also show the Naver Dictionary definition with examples. I have found that Papago also is able to translate more Korean slang than other translation services like Google Translate. Amazing tool, recommend it to any Korean learners!

I think it’s hacked... I used to go to this translator as my go to because I am learning 3 languages and it offers many languages to translate into but recently I’ve been noticing something weird. When I translate simple words it gives me wack results. Yesterday I searched up the meaning for « si » in French which means if, but the translator gave me « if so please explain why ________________________________________________________________________________________________”then I searched up the meaning for a sentence about a house and it gave me “ at home last Saturday, I had the opportunity to talk to my wife and daughter about their experiences with aids and hiv.” UM? I believe it’s been hacked.

Always changes to Korean. I’m just looking for Japanese/English, and it took forever to get the typed from/to to not default to Korean (despite my never selecting that as something I’d like to translate). It also took forever to get the picture option to not default to Korean. However, the “study” camera option won’t even let me change it to J/E nor E/J. If I change “from” to J, it changes “to” to K. If I then change “to” to E, it changes “from” to K. And the endless cycle continues. I couldn’t get it to work no matter how many times I tried. I looked in the settings if there was some pre-set default preference or something, but didn’t see anything that’d let me select my preferred language, so not sure why it does this. Incredibly frustrating though.

Solid.. Free, accurate and helps me with my studies. Glad there’s no ADs or in app purchases.

Problem with Chinese Translation. If you're translating Chinese text then that's fine. But if you're translating a voice input, just indicate the Chinese language precisely, it's Mandarin only that it translates, so indicate that. "Chinese" doesn't automatically equal Mandarin. Get your language right!

Doesn’t translate well. I am currently learning Japanese and every time I am saying a word in Japanese it is telling me I’m saying something different but on Google translate it is telling me that I am saying it correctly.

French to Korean. Hi I really like this app cuz my daughter goes to french school and I don’t speak french. Every single time when I get new letter from school,( of course everything written in french) I use this app. But , when I use french to Korean, the meaning is no make sense at all. That’s why I use french to English. Among my friends, some friends doesn’t speak English very well but kids go to french school. I would like to suggest that Korean function needs more updates. Love it. The app is really good, the translation is very accurate and there’s a lot of helpful features like how to ask for help or talk on the phone.

Good but app but need more languages. The translations are very accurate and I quite like the app however there is a very limited amount of languages to choose from. Hopefully in future updates there can be more languages added like Arabic for example.

Widget app not working. The widget app stopped working after the update 1.9.19 version, also image translation is difficult to use as the buttons get in the way of the translated text

Accurate !. I really like the accurate translations. I wish there was a setting for informal speech though. To get an informal sentence the sentence has to be written informally in English. Except for that I love it !!!

good but needs some work. i really like this app because it’s A LOT better than google translate but i think they should make it more like the website where it shows the multiple meanings of one word like 일 and example sentences.

Great bilingual dictionary / translator. It’s honestly way better than normal translator apps. It’s easy to use, looks good, and it knows its stuff. PLUS ITS FREE!

Great Japanese translation tool. Just compared it with a few other paid translator tools and its Japanese translation is concise and idiomatic! And it is free!

Limited offline languages. I was hopeful to be able to use this app off-line for Spanish. You can only download Japanese Chinese or Korean for use off-line.

Papago is good but.... Papago has been my first choice of translation for that it was the easiest way but sometimes, there are complete wrong translations and weird words coming up that are not relevant to what I searched up. There might be some bugs but “It’s A Great app!

Best korean translator. By far the best korean translator. It consistently recognizes cultural nuances in korean language so that it can even translate slang, sarcasm, metaphors or even common typos accurately when given enough context.

its okay.... so, im studying japanese and i use this app to translate some of my genki workbook. but, today i found that a lot of the words were not translated correctly like for example, i was doing a page with a question and i had to write it in japanese. but papago told me it was asking 'whats the test.' which i dont think is correct, but overall a pretty good app, just some words need to be fixed :).

couldn’t use. Currently in Japan right now and every time I tried to scan an image for translation I can’t select japan to English. It keeps changing it to Korean. My app it’s updated as well not sure why it’s doing that. Just use google translate

Review. It good for translating but some time it’s not accurate and doesn’t make sense but it’s understandable in some part it has both positive and negative side to it but app is pretty solid.

Malformed App. This App I tried to paste and link like duo lingo and it didn’t work, when I pasted it on my Safari it said that the app turned it into a malformed link I hope that my phone still works correctly and this app does not have any virus on it. I really am disappointed in this app and I hope you take in consideration my review and fix it.

Don’t translate what I write. I wrote on English then translate it to Korean and it doesn’t say what i write, It get translate but not what i write . That’s why I going to delete this. I need it because I am a BTS Army and i need it for weverse to post it in Korean language so the guys can understand, but never mind. Thanks anyways.

AmaZing app. I love this app ! It’s really amazing ! It helps me communicate with my korean friends who don’t speak English ! And the honorific addition was bomb ! But I wish the app could translate offline too , it would be amazing help !

Bring back the previous version!. Omg what have you done? We use these for school and quick conversations. How do you expect us to select multiple texts in a conversation when we’re trying to translate a whole page. It’s just wonky. New update not needed. We needed more accurate translation

This app is horrible at making accurate translations. It doesn’t consider the context of the inputted words as a whole and resorts to outputting a literal translation which often results in something that makes little sense. You’re better off using Chat-GPT.

Cannot translate picture that are too large anymore. As of October 4th 2022, after an update, I can’t translate pictures that are too large. Previously I was able to simply zoom out.

Arabia language. It’s a great app but unfortunately Arabic language is not included which is a shame That’s why I am rating it 2 stars It’s should be included and I hope it will be soon thank you

Excellent translations. I'm a Kpop Stan and I wasn't doing so well translating bubble messages with google translate, this app has been of great use to me and it's really good.

Good but need some changes. Don’t get me wrong, the app is amazing but it just needs some new improvements. Maybe there could be more languished options and a detect language option?

Better than Google Translate. I like that the translation is more accurate than Google Translate, especially in Korean. Even my Korean friends can see the difference.

Edu Translation only for Korean?. The Edu tab only works for translating into or to Korean from the other supporting languages. Any attempt to make it Japanese to English or vice versa introduces Korean as a source or as the output. I can’t find a way to fix this and I made an account to use the app. Seems like a bug but no one is talking about it in the reviews.

Add More Languages. This is seriously the best translator app I’ve ever used, but it needs more languages. I would love it if Filipino could at least be added.

Can’t pop up/ translate within an app. The app is good. The problem is that it can’t pop up or rather translate within an app to make translation easier

“smart” AI gives the wrong answer. I barely speak any Korean but I speak enough to know that when I try to look up a word to check spelling it fully gives me the wrong word. Papago is no longer trustworthy.

Best translator in the world. I never write reviews, but this app is the best translator I have ever used. I definitely recommend downloading it

because of Minho and Key. Minkey are fighting/flirting on instagram and promoting papago at the same time so i decided to download by curiosity 😅 I hope this app will help me in the future

It lets you choose the words. So you can do eny word or sentence it's so nice and helpful I now fluent Korean now😁 and it is the best one I have tried I love is so much it's better the drops one more
