No longer crashes at Baramos battle. Many thanks to the staff for fixing the bugs from the last version! iOS10 iphone 6s no longer has any problems

15 levels in, all saves disappeared. And now the gam doesn’t save anymore. Waste of my time...

how to change the language. ? how to change the language how to change the language

Unplayable. The grinding needed to get through this game makes it unplayable. Over 20 hours of just grinding and I’m still getting smashed by one particular encounter. Don’t waste your time or money on this piece of crap

Fixed - works on iOS 10. SE appears to have fixed the bug that caused the game to crash during major story points, so as promised I am re-rating this excellent game as a 5.

Nice game. Tribute to the old one, great controls and gives you that childhood fun, but the games difficulty was extremely reduced due to auto save and quick save, it is also reduced by personality’s and by your party auto fighting mode, your casters will cast the perfect spells and will change what they do based on what happens before their turn in the round, and having the bag, where you can store 99 herbs so you can heal after every battle without the cost of mana, take the golden claw for example, extremely hard to get in the original, all spells fizzle in the basement of the pyramid and you fight every other step, like 50 fights from the claw to the exit, quick save and 99 herbs = insta win, back in the day you could only bring what your guys were carrying and no saving until you got back.... excellent remake, but needs an original mode ( would be cool if it had an original graphics mode that you can toggle on and off too)

Okay. Wow

Crashes towards the end. Absolutely love this game and I think this port runs fantastic through the majority of the game. I had no problems and no complaints with the ports DQ1 or DQ2 and this one was shaping up to be great as well. However, while grinding for levels before the final boss I have experienced many crashes that have really turned me off of completing the game. I’m going to do it because I’ve made it this far and I want to finish but it’s really upsetting that I have to make sure to quick save after every single encounter just in case one of those crashes does occur. Sadly I have to go with a 3 star for this even though this is one of my favorite RPGs.

Feels phoned in.. Maybe I’m missing something here, but this game just feels really lazy. I played through DQs 1 and 2 and loved them, even though there was some monotony. But in 3 right off the bat was disappointed- you just go to the party store and roll up some random characters? What’s the story in that? I’m skipping this one and moving on to # 4.

Must buy, excellent retro JRPG with iPad/iPhone comfort. Dragon Quest is classic role-playing series. DQ3 has the best evolved engine and the largest world of the first three Dragon Quests, and this is the latest "state of art" version of DQ3 — with all modern mobile touchscreen bells and whistles: NES → SNES → GBC → iOS. There is a reason this game survived so many platforms and still sales at high prices. It is classic of computer games. DQ3 is prequel to the first Dragon Quest, and DQ2 is sequel to it. That's another reason to buy DQ3, even if you aren't ready to buy the whole series. DQ3, also known as Dragon Warrior III, is well-crafted beginning of the epic story about Edric. Although this DQ3 is the latest and most updates release, you must be aware it's retro-game from the golden age of Japanese RPG (JRPG). JRGP fandom made pirate self-made English translations of this game, but today you can enjoy officially localized version. Even if you aren't deep into retro-gaming, this application is the less painful way to learn about role-playing heritage without installing old hardware or emulation software.

Cramps My Hand. These one handed video games are so uncomfortable to play. I’m not alone in this. Carpel tunnel syndrome anyone?

Crashes. Game crashes everytime I try and cast KASIZZLE

The roots of the iconic series you can take with you. I’ve never played this on an NES, but having played the OG Dragon Quest here on iOS, it was every bit worth the grab on sale. So you’re this knight of all trades, wants to be a hero after your father, set to battle yet another demon overlord—or rather, the first one ever. Play as a girl for some extra laughs no matter what you yourself identity as. You won’t regret it. If you’re a fan of Dragon Quest, it’s the same lotta grind for little money that will keep you battling for hours or just frustrate you to death. But it’s worth it for the variety of jobs your allies can take on. My only issue thus far is that the graphics look incredibly blocky on high-res displays. To that end, DQIII could use a touch-up from one of its earlier ports. But as I’ve said, it’s worth the pickup.

Bring back Pachisi!!. Enjoy the remake, don’t mind the easier level, as I play for relaxation, but what made the original a standout was Pachisi! No one else had it! Rather have that than monster battles any day! Glad you kept all the music. Love those tunes. Do appreciate longer name ability. Would give you the full 5*’s if game had Pachisi!

Good remake but.... Quick save button is broken. Was working at first but now its not working

Rubis sword?. I would have given this game 5 stars easily if it were at the very least everything it was for gbc. But it’s not. The removal of the pachasi tracks was a real bummer first of all bc that means u can only receive one wreck whip weapon (destructoball) then to make the pain of that incredible loss worse defeating the end dragon offers only 2 wishes (a personality change or the revival of Ortega) instead of the final pachasi track or the secret dungeon where the rubis sword is acquired. I was so sad when I finally beat that dragon on my quest to achieve that sword only to find everything after Zoma was just a dream I could not obtain w/o a game boy :’( but other than that it was everything I remembered it would be. And on top of that my adventure was just as breathtaking as before leading up to that final battle disappointment. ****/***** 4/5 for you. Give me an update please for 5 stars and I’ll even pay an extra cost for bonus content if u charged for it. It would be so worth it!

Casting Kasizzle.... ...crashes the app / game. Please remedy. Thanks in advance!

Best classic rpg on mobile. This is my favorite classic rpg on mobile yet, remake or new, and I play a lot of them. The port to mobile was done perfectly. It runs like a dream, has a quick save, and an upfront price tag with no microtransactions or ads. The difficulty is low which is great because you can burn through it or really dig into the character development as the game was originally designed. Also this is just an awesome game. It’s tough to get used to the complexity but once you dig in you appreciate how well designed it is. The creators put a lot into this game and it shows. I just came off trying the free SEGA console rpg ports to mobile, and the difference is night and day. SEGA offers them free but you have to watch an ad just to save the game. What a collosal blunder. Whoever made that call doesn’t know that save-scumming is basically required for these old rpg titles. That made all those old classic SEGA rpgs utterly unplayable on mobile. The Dragon Quest series is ported just right. Well done. Money well spent.

Flawless. When this game came out on NES in America I was 12. It was the first RPG I ever played and I was hooked. It was revolutionary at the time, and the things that made it strong still hold to this day. Creating your party from scratch, strong story with connection to previous entries, challenging fights, mob grinding that doesn't feel too tedious, each city feeling unique, innovating aspects like a developing city that you co-found...the list goes on. Add on the bonus of updated graphics and music, and this is a must buy.

PERFECT FOR IOS. Let me just say, this game works SO well on iPhone. Unlike the other square Enix iOS games, they actually innovate and update their dragon quest line and that keeps these games working so well. The updated graphics, orchestral soundtrack, controls all work so well on this platform and whoever’s idea it was to have the game stretch downwards in full screen is a genius. This game or any of the iOS dragon quests for that matter are well worth your money

iPhone XS Max update please!. I love DQ3 so much, however, everything is so small on the new iPhone XS Max. Please optimize this for latest phones so that I can enjoy this amazing game.

Masterpiece!. This game is so great!! It’s easily the most hours I’ve ever put into a mobile game. It’s so immersive and engaging, and almost feels like a modern game even though it’s from the 80’s or 90’s. I can totally understand why it’s considered a classic, as I couldn’t put it down from the first 10 minutes. Love this game!! As an added bonus, if you play 1, 2 and 3 consecutively like I did (over the course of the last two weeks...), this game becomes so much better!! 10/10, highly recommended experience. Treat yourself.

Love the game but.... Love this game, the controls are decent but my game isn’t saving. I don’t know why. I save at the castle but when I come back to load the game it’s blank. I would really like this to be fixed.

:-D. I played this old school on the NES back in the day, I second the other reviewer that called this "flawless." Remakes can be iffy, but this has everything we love plus extra. The music hasn't changed either just been processed better, so the great Castle theme played and my blood pressure went way down. And being able to have it with me on the go is such a great thing that I have no words. SE you've always got a fan in me.

Fixed!. I love this game and the recent patch fixed the bug! I can now fight the boss I need defeat to progress.

Great game but crashes. Why has this not been fixed yet? Updated game fixed but I broke old I phone got new one do I have to restart the whole game again? Every character I have had every spell and class to Lv 30 and I still didn't beat game I won't restart whole game again wasted my money on the game if saved files don't transfer in the cloud :-(

A few things missing... but still wonderful.. I've played and beaten this game on three different platforms, so to have it on my iPhone/iPad is a thrill. That said, I hope future releases of this game include the Pachisi tracks. I really enjoyed this part of the original game, and was very disappointed to find they were omitted. Next - the Monster Medals and bonus dungeon. I was really disappointed to find that those were also omitted from this version. The only other thing I would have liked to see here are descriptions of the items. It has been years since I played the game so I didn't recall what some of the things were. It would have been really helpful to have that information in the ITEMS menu. The game is absolutely BEAUTIFUL. The music is fantastic. The gameplay is incredible. I still give this game five stars! One of the best ever.

Bug fixed :). Thankfully, an update was just released that fixed the back button being untappable on iPhone 6 devices. This is probably the best was to play the game, good job devs.

Amazing. One of the best JRPG's of all time. a little expensive considering how old the game is, but it's aged gracefully and is well worth the price. If you're a fan of the genre I highly recommend this game and have been having a great time playing it. I do have a small complaint though, they got rid of the monster animations :-( If modern phone's can handle the full DQVIII then they can easily handle the enemy animations, bring them back please!!!

Sorta leaves a bad taste. Game crashes during the Baramos boss battle even after "fix" very disappointed huge dq fan.

No iCloud saves. I own iPad & iPhone. Can’t move saves between them. Great game but can’t rank higher since they won’t support a basic function. Also landscape mode would be nice.

Deleted my save data. I just made it to the area where you need to use the wrecking ball and found my data was deleted. Please Square Enix fix this before it deletes a file where I am much later into the game

Much Better. I can get passed zoma. But still some crashes.

Great until crash after end boss. Had a great time with this game until the very end. Crashes every time I beat Zoma, during his death speech. Disappoint :(

crashed on final battle. Never been victim of a crash until I was at the very final battle, right when I won the battle it crashed on me! Happened just yesterday, on my iPad (2017 model) The app probably needs to be fixed soon. I ended up having to win the battle again, after almost deciding not to. (pretty tough long battle) and it didn't cash the second time. I was able to see the ending. Other than this crashing issue, it is a fantastic game.

Excellent Classic RPG. I thoroughly enjoyed this game. Highly recommend for anyone looking for old school RPG with a good touch interface and some quality of life enhancements. I played through it while my buddy played through on his GBColor, and there are some differences. In the gameboy version and SNES there is the Pachisi track which can give you awesome items, on this version that isn't here and powerful items are much more limited. Translation also differs a bit with enemy, town and spell names as well as dialogue. Also, no GBC ice dungeon with grand dragon as an additional super boss. GBC has more content but this version pleased me.

Where Is Pachisi?. Cute remake of the classic game, but why remove the pachisi boards? It’s a shame that they were cut for seemingly no reason.

Japanese. Pls introduce a Japanese translation

Old School. I love Dragon Quest III. It's one of my favorite Dragon Quest titles. I enjoy the updated graphics from the NES and the GBC versions. It holds up well. It's a rather lengthy game as well. Multiple classes.

Fun and short classic. This game is a classic. If you’re a huge fan of the traditional JRPG traditional formula this game will be right up your alley. There may be certain parts where you’ll need a guide because of how vague the game can be at certain points so take upon yourself to speak to every NPC (and take screenshots or write down the hints that NPC provide). Job class system in the game keeps a freeform feel to creating your team however you want. The personality system can be sort of confusing as it affects stat gains so that’s something you may also have to look up. Difficulty wise the game is hard early on, eases up, and then gets harder towards the end again. Game is pretty grind heavy and encounter rates can be annoying. Orchestrated soundtrack makes the experience amazing. I have a good about 20+ hours into this game and for the price I would consider this purchase worth it. My only recommendation if you want the best experience is at least looking up a guide on the classes and personality so you can fully understand the system (it doesn’t get explained in game). From there you can create a team to your liking.

Hate the childish translation. This was one of my favorite NES games. The gameplay is fine and the graphical update I can tolerate though I find unnecessary. What consistently bothered me was the silly translations of spells, items, and monster names. I wanted to relive the NES game not see everything replaced with very dumb sounding new names. Plus I had to constantly consult guides to see what was what. Most people wouldn't care about this, especially if you've never played the original. The game itself is fine, plays well, and an utter classic.

Okay...but. I love the whole DQ series and this is the first game that I have experienced that’s it crashes ALL THE TIME. It’s very annoying. Can’t really play as it always freezing. My iOS software is up to date so it’s not that. Very frustrated.

Worth the buy. I was skeptical about spending so much on a game. But the port was super well done and the game is a classic turn based RPG.

Classic RPG. Great old school RPG, the mobile version is pretty easy compared to a lot of JRPGs but the gameplay is still fun. Also the Hero from Dragon Quest 3 will appear as a playable character in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

Lost Save File. Squaresoft was my favorite companies back in my SNES days. Opened the game tonight and the game loaded me about two hours behind in my play. With $10 game like this from a great company I would have expected better,no excellence. This type of game also doesn't motivate you to grind all those levels over again. Cmon Square! You used to be my go-to, my homey. Crono Trigger changed my life. A masterpiece. This was my first Dragon Quest too! Maybe you guys are active on here and you can help a brother out. Promise to buy another Square title of you do.

Save data erased?!. Everything was great up until I find myself grinding outside of alltrades abbey, switch over to chrome to check something and switch back to the game and lo and behold it’s on the title screen and my save data is gone. Two different saves. Gone. Love the game but don’t think I’ll be going back to it and just the possibility of this bug occurring again makes me wary to purchase any of the other dragon quest titles.

Cant get past guards. At baharata cave there are two guards were supposed to ask you if you'd like to join them. if you say no the battle ensues. however they never ask me this question so I just end up stuck there not being able to do anything and not being able to get past them!

The best game of all time on IOS. Since it was released in the US as Dragon Warrior III it has been my favorite not only in the series but favorite game period. It just works. Everything is perfectly balanced and it never gets tedious like DQII did. The ability to cast Zoom and travel to ANY previous town makes it flow so much better. The game is also huge in scope and the world is memorable and varied. It is the Citizen Kane of RPGs and everything just fits together like a glove. To make it better. This is the superior SNES version with bonus dungeon and extra class. The tedious pachissi game is axed but all of the prizes are there still via a mini medal quest. You NEED to own this game.

Major issue. The only I had was that I could not save my game onto Game Center and transfer the data to another phone when I upgrade my phones. RIP to all that grind.

Good, but lacking. If this were a mirror copy of the Game Boy version, I’d give it 5 stars. But it’s missing pachisi, which was my favorite thing about the game. So I give it 3 stars.

It could've been better.. I don't know whether this is better than the retranslated version for the snes. Why?. Well here's the comparison. The translated version had the pachisi track and monsters can actually move (attack). However this has much better English, graphics and music. It would be better if you add the pachisi tracks and make monsters move while attacking or casting a spell. But still though a great game. Good luck for the rest of the dragon quest series.

RPG classic. The final and best instalment of the 'Erdrick' trilogy. This game was the mechanical end result of its two predecessors, which act now as neat but flawed prototypes in JRPG history. This game tossed out the paddling pool and marked the true beginning of this classic franchise. A must-buy.

Fantastic, however???. Loving the game, can't recommend it enough, however the game keeps crashing in cave next to Jipang when boss battle is initiated. Please fix asap. Playing on iPhone 6s.

Amazing fun except.... As other reviews of this version have said: the game crashes when starting the Jipang cave boss fight. Cannot progress until fixed :(

Awesome. Why is it that such an old game seems to beat all modern games hands diwn in terms of enjoyability?

A true classic. If you are like me and remember sleepless night on the NES/GBC back in the day, you wont regret it, its just like the old times ! Please square dont take too much time to release the other DQs, i love this series and really hope to get 1-8 on my phone, just like we have all the old FFs :)

Wow what a game!. Great game this reminds me of my childhood. This is definitely the best dragon quest of the first three. Sometimes the game just freeze (happened just a few times) but still 5 stars to me. Good job !!

Awesome game!. Game Is great! A lot of fun only issue I have they changed the personality names of the GBC so I have no idea what each one means. Overall though I'm happy with the game. To the person above change your character tactic to follow orders then you can select your characters moves. Picking your character class is a lot of fun.

Got it :). This should be good. Gonna try it after the first two. :)

Terrific Port. Not my favorite DQ game, per se, but s great port and an excellent iOS game.

So disappointed. First off I've been looking forward to this one out of the whole Dragon Quest series. Sadly after playing for about 10 minutes I'm a tad underwhelmed. Gone are the enemy animations from the SNES remake which this is seemingly based. I honestly don't understand why these could be squeezed into a small chip on a decade old game cartridge and not on a smartphone where other games can reach up to 1 gig in space. And finishing off this you cannot even control your party. Yup that's right you aren't given the option to choose who does what of your party members. Why this was done I do not know. Needless to say I won't be playing it as much as I thought I would. At least they seemed to have gotten the other ones right.

Broken on iPad Air 2. Crashes from various different combinations of actions. SE is unable to help. Crashes at Orochi 1 battle, crashes when selling garter, crashes when transferring hardwood headwear to another character's slot, crashes when trying to sell hardwood headwear. iOS 9 and 10 this happens. SE says to reinstall but it doesn't work. Tried multiple different ways only to have same crashes. Some sort of incompatibility with the latest hardware and OS. Support is poor. If you have an older device it may still work as it worked fine on my older iPad 2.

Latest update damaged gameplay. I have loved this game since I got it. I’ve played through it three times. The latest update has made it so that “back” button no longer works on my iPhone 5S. This means that I’m stuck in shop menus, and I’m not able to get out and back to playing. Effectively, the game is no longer playable. PLEASE FIX THIS SO I CAN KEEP PLAYING!

Maintenance. Latest update fixed gameplay.

No cloud save?. So my data disappears when I delete the app or need to switch devices? Seriously?!

Love the game, hate the crashes. Nostalgia factor is huge, I love the series all together. Edit Nov 5 2016 Crashes patched. Currently no gameplay issues. 5 stars

AWESOME. Bug in this game: if the Mage casts a spell against the enemy and that enemy has already been defeated, the spell will not work. It doesn't automatically get cast on the next enemy. This was the original behaviour of NES version, but should be fixed on the remakes. please FIX this Please release Dragon Quest VII 3DS in North America!! Quit forgetting about us!! And I love this game! Bought all of them so far.

Awesome game. Love it, this is the equivalent to the America version dragon warrior:) plz add landscape mode tho

FANTASTIC WORK. GREAT VERSION.. (I have loved this game for years so I may be biased. PLEASE SQUAREENIX BRING OUT DRAGON QUEST 9 with all the MULTIPLAYER GOODNESS!!) DQIII Cons -no controller support. -no cloud saves transfer Pros -Excellent Old school console RPG gameplay. -Fantastic pixel graphics. -New translation. -Wonderful remixed music based on the symphony suit albums. -controls work very well. Buy it. This is THE Dragon Quest to own.

Best iPhone game I've ever downloaded. This game is amazing. Controls are great, game itself is enthralling and I can't get enough of it. If this dev comes out with a dragon warrior monsters app like this I'll download it in a heartbeat.

Great game but. I absolutely love this game however I came across 2 bugs throughout playing the game on the ios recent update. one was when I wanted to sell the oricon to the blacksmith the game would crash as well as the final boss with Zoma after the dialogue the game instantly crashes please update so I can beat it finally thank you!

Disappointing.... I love the series but the game boy color version is leaps and bounds better, this one omits the monster medals, class's changing and pachisi which were what made this game unique and great.... and who knows how much more is left out :(

Lots of fun. All the fun of the original. The controls take a little getting used too. Some of the names have changed from the original. Other than those few minor complaints it is a great game.

Like a lot. I always loved the dragon warrior/ dragon quest series. What I don't like about this port is the taking away of the pacshi track. Then with all the items being renamed, I couldn't figure out what was what. But the graphics are great and no crashes yet.

Downloaded immediately when I saw it. Cause it's awesome ! All I'm missing now is dragon quest 7 and I'll be a super happy guy :) thanks squareenix!

ADD THE PACHISI BOARD!!!. I was so disappointed when I saw it wasn't there!! Please add it! It's such a fun part of the game! It's essential!!

App Crashes at Xenlon. Cannot battle Xenlon due to the app crashing as soon as the battle screen opens. Need support please. Otherwise, I love this game! :-)

Dragon Quest 3. Enjoyed it, until about 3/4 ways through the game. Can't progress any further as game crashes when fighting a mid-Boss (Orochi). Tried several times, even reloaded and replayed the game, to no avail. At least played it a bit; DQ2 crashed on my first battle. Sad, but tech support is useless and unwilling to help so far.

The greatest of the original trilogy!. This is the greatest of the original Dragon Quest trilogy. You can create a party from scratch (like Dragon Quest IX) and you embark on a journey to save the world from Baramos... But will that be enough?! The graphics are great and do is the music, with an overworld theme that just makes you want to keep exploring! Buy it!

Noticed something odd. Just want to say that for some reason all the town names and spell names in this version are all wrong.

Decent port besides bugs.. Great port, have been enjoying so far. Unable to progress any further due to a bug with a boss fight. Orochi causes the app to crash on iOS 10

Come on guys. I've always loved all these titles since day 1 and I'll always continue to play them but you guys need to update this game, app crashes everytime I try to fight zoma, my level 44 Mage refuses to learn hocus pocus, and my level 56 hero still has 2 spells to learn that he should of already learned. These are ridiculous glitches that can easily be fixed.

Just like I remember. This was my first dragon quest game. I had it on the gameboy color when it was known as dragon warrior 3. Everything is running smooth, I haven't experienced any sort of bugs yet. Highly recommended this game if your into role playing games.

Favorite Game. Unlike most of the other games in the series, you can create your own party members. This gives the game a more customizable feel and adds to the replay value. It definitely feels more personal than the titles that provide your characters. This is truly a must-have for fans of old school RPGs.

This is a great game. This is an amazing game and I love it, however it keeps crashing, I don't know why it just started all of a sudden, I'm trying to fight orochi but it is impossible

Great game!. I wrote a few days ago about some text scrolling bugs, but I haven't seen any more so maybe it was just a fluke. I was hoping there would be monster medals like in the Game Boy release, but losing that side quest doesn't hurt that much. This is a true classic JRPG!

Battle Crashes. Haven't had any problems and i thoroughly enjoy this game however when I try to fight Orochi it crashes. Not like this is an optional part of the game, it's integral to the storyline and i can't possibly beat the game without getting past this boss. Fix it, Lord.

Worth it.. One of the best in the series

One of the best!. Dw7, Dq6 and Dq3! Can you say best job class systems in the world! We just need DQX to be complete come on Square-Enix Americans are missing out on all the fun!

DQIII. Thank You SE for finally making this awesome beautiful game on IOS!! this game brings back so many good memories... You just made me the happiest man alive!! Best RPG In the world!!!!!!

Game Crashes. The game crashes at the boss Orochi making it unplayable. You walk up to Orochi, it starts to bring up the battle screen and crashes shutting the game off instantly.

Awaited so long time!. Finally the final installment of the Erdick series came to us. I have played a bit and created my own character. The goddess told me that my true soul is a thug after listening to my answers to her questions. But it's OK. I'll go on with my soul.

The greatest Classic Dragon Quest!. If you love classic RPGs, you really can't get much better than this!

Relive the legend of Erdrick!. Glad I get to experience this classic JRPG all over again on my phone. Dragon Warrior 3 was one of my favorite games for the Game Boy Color growing up.

Come on Square. When is this going to get fixed? Completely ruins the game when it crashes during boss fights. Or when you're trying to transfer and equip items

Can't fight Zoma. Went through the entire game and loved all of it. Was just as, if not more, fun than when I played it 20 years ago. My only complaint is I am at the very last boss and the app is crashing. Right after his speech it goes into battle mode for a split second and then crashes. Kind of frustrating hopefully it gets fixed but I had zero problems up until then.

Almost perfect!. Only thing that could make this perfect is if they release 5 and 6 ASAP

Best English version of DQIII!. Best version we have in English. The graphics are on par with the Super Famicom version, and they are formatted perfectly for any iOS screen; the music is phenomenally gorgeous from the symphonic suite CDs. And the game itself is amazing, no matter which version you play, but this version is the best. Wonderful.

Great game! Just missing cloud sync.... Lovely app, runs smooth and is lots of fun. Would be nice if saves synced via iCloud so I could resume on iPad sometimes. Plays really well, fits well as a mobile game.

App crashes upon launch. Keeps crashing every time I try to open it.

Unable to download. Just purchased this game last night. Transaction went through and I do have available space on my phone. Why am I constantly "unable to download the app at this time"

One of the best out there!. Dragon quest 3 is now one of my favorite dragon quest games. I can't wait for number 5 :)

Crashes at Boss Fights and Selling Items. Any time I attempt a boss, the game crashes. This makes the game not playable other than just leveling. Hopefully this gets fixed, otherwise I would not recommend buying

Besides the prologue music missing.... It is the best port of this game. Unless you prefer home consoles.

September update broke game. Do not buy until they fix the update. September update broke game. Do not buy until they fix the update

Game doesn't work. The game crashes when I try to fight a boss, so I can't play the game. Don't buy the game until some update fixes the issue.

100% Agree. I 100% agree with True Guardians review! This game is phenomenal and having it on iOS as college finals are wrapping for winter break couldn't be any more ideal. all that is Missing now is for Dragon Quest Monsters To make its way to iOS. THAT game is better than any current iOS monster collecting game!

One of the best RPG's of all time. I don't write many reviews, but I can't help myself here. The true makings of a classic game provide tons of replay value, and impact people in multiple generations with that title, while spawning endless titles afterwards. Three particular titles come to mind from the late 80's/early 90's that were all on the original Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). Those titles are The Legend of Zelda 1, Final Fantasy 1 (FF1), and Dragon Quest/Warrior 3 (DQ3). All three games have combined for about 50 new titles after these legendary releases. Both FF1 and DQ3 were games that you would beat, and then wonder, "Cool, can I do it with another party?" You would then devote another week or so to running the gauntlet again with the new party, kill Chaos (FF1) or Zoma (DQ3), and then maybe take a 6 month or one year break from the game, but it would still be on your mind, "Hey, I have to beat this game again, but with another party." This would go on for the next 20 years for me, but with longer breaks. I bought these games for $65-70 USD in the 90's with my allowance money, downloaded the free ROM's in the 2000's, and spent a fraction of that 90's money again in the 2010's to continue playing those two games on the iPhone. DQ3 is such a fun game, because not only can you customize and substitute in your party, you can also vary your path in where you go. For example: Want to challenge yourself early and get the Golden Claw, and delay going north to the town of Kanave, you can do that. So much variation is in this game, that you will never get tired of it. I also love the nostalgia of reliving Alefgard in DQ1 as the dark world in DQ3. You did some amazing work on DQ3 Enix (would become Square Enix years later). Everyone always slams DQ2 so hardly too. Was that game really so bad, or was DQ3 just one of those games that changed the standards of RPG's forever? I tend to think the later.

Good game with a slight translation issue. There are some weird translation errors in this game that make you read things a few times over. There are also some small spelling errors and such like "defence" and such. Good game though, great nostalgia in this one.

WHY?!?!?. No pachisi game boards? No monster metals? How hard would it have been to put those things in? And no enemy animation? As an owner of the original Dragon Warrior III I can appreciate this version for what it is. But to remove the content I'm referring to is like like taking one step forward and three steps back. I shouldn't be able to play a more advanced game on my Gameboy Color.

It's about time. The last time dq1-3 came to the US was on GameboyColor. This is a port of that but with some obvious upgrades, especially audio. Must-have!

Perfection. I love it. The GBC version had some cool features, but I love the updated score/graphics. Addicted to nostalgia once more!

Finally!. The masterpiece comes stateside to our phones at last! I absolutely loved this game as a kid and still love it to this day. I can't wait to play through this gem again!

Excellent game. Loving every second and every aspect of this game.

I've been waiting for this!!. All the good memories of dq3 came flooding back. Game plays well, nice and smooth. Monster and spell animations light up the screen. All the standard dragon quest awesomeness. No landscape mode, but meh..

App crashes since last Ver Update. This is an awesome, old school, 8-bit game, worthy of tons of hours of play. The problem with that is right now the game is hella buggy since the recent Ver update adding language support. App crashes at the boss Orochi in Jipang, effectively ending sequence and ending the game itself. You cannot get to mid-late game unless you kill this critical boss that drops a story item. Extremely frustrating!!! In addition, game crashes when selling certain items to certain stores. I sold old gear and got multiple crashes. It was fixable with bypassing the store to another but this is ridiculous and time consuming. This is not what should happen in casual play. Until SE patches these issues, STAY AWAY from this game and save yourself the 10$. Sent email to support but 24 hours have passed and no response. Highly dissapointed.

No second bonus dungeon. Does anyone know what the third wish from divingeon is after you beat him within 15 turns is?! I can beat him in 17 but 15 is stretching it!

Another DQ game made unplayable.. DQ 2 was made unplayable due to an update. Now DQ3 is very unstable after updates and new O S. I get crashes often when using inventory or magic. There appears to be no interest in dealing with consumer complaints regarding these games, and tech help only checks to see if the games start rather then playing them to try to replicate the errors. So, it is time for the developer or the store to step up. This game when it is working is a very good update of the original Dragon Warrior 3.

Landscape view please?. Its Dragon Quest. Reviewing this is like reviewing, say, Half Life 2. Its good, its amazing, its a part of gaming history. Just posting this here to request a landscape view for the game. I use an iPad case, and it holds the iPad sideways. I can take it out to play Dragon Quest III, but after a while it makes my wrist all sore to hold the iPad unless I'm in a car or something where I can partially hold it in my lap. So yes, landscape mode please?
