NordVPN: VPN Fast & Secure Comments & Reviews 2026
I gave a half review and it quit working. Thank God I got this half off because it only works half the time. -_- Edit: it completely stopped working after giving a bad review I’m so disappointed in this product. All those YouTubers are lying or haven’t actually tried this. Edit edit: I can just tell you here. I have to constantly reopen the app and refresh the connection manually on our phones, on the tablet the app constantly just closes/crashes on the computer it’s about the same as the phone. I can have full Wi-Fi bars in certain spots of the house on any device in my home and it won’t run anything until I use my mobile data. I can be watching a premiere livestream in the room with best Wi-Fi signal keeping up with chat and it will just stop and give the buffering symbol on what I’m watching until I go back to the app that will also have buffering symbol and either manually shut it off or force close the app. In the middle of the night mid video/podcast it shuts off and pauses until dawn. I hope someone doesn’t try to break into my house when this happens and I don’t get a notification because I know who will be to blame. I don’t want to leave a negative review I want this to work as I’ve seen it advertised many times. Please fix this product because I really want to like it and when it does work it’s great. Maybe add more countries as well the selection is depressing.
Complete useless in China. I bought this service to use while teaching in China. It has been completely useless since I got here. No customer support. No connection. I notice that when others complain, the manager of this review site dismissively points out that the person has not yet responded to the ticket, presumably asking for feedback. This response demonstrates an ignorance to what life is like living without a VPN in China. We can’t respond to any ticket that you send us because, without a VPN, we have no access to gmail. That is a banned site in China. We can’t tell you how lousy your service is because we need your service to access the ticket. Ugh. At one point I got a response from customer service to download various gooeys and try them using various connection points. None of the instructions could be carried out because the downloads weren’t accessible without VPN access. On top of that, the instructions were unintelligible. I don’t have a computer science degree. I’m busy trying to teach English in China. Do not use this service for device in China. Once they’ve taken your money, they will leave you to fend for yourself. My wife chose a different service and the support has been the difference between night and day. When there is China interference, they send her notification through their website, knowing that she has no email access at the time. They have diagnostic chat that will help work through the challenging climate that China presents. She has never been expected to download gooeys to work on her own through the program. Buyer beware.
Not one of the VPNs owned by Israel. As far as I know, NordVPN is not one of the VPNs owned by Israeli intelligence agencies, which is a big deal considering how Israel is the mother of all spyware and the single greatest contributor to our governments crackdown on our freedom, including freedom to access factual, unbiased, and uncensored information. It makes no sense whatsoever to use a VPN owned by a foreign intelligence agency that will spy on you and is dedicated to destroying you, your livelihood and your country. I mean that has to be the biggest scam and joke imaginable…signing up with a VPN company to protect you from malicious hackers and spyware because you care about your privacy and security, only for the company to be owned by the same corrupt genocidal billionaires who want digital IDs for all of us, and build AI designed to control and subjugate us. For anyone who thinks my review is inappropriate because I’m talking about politics, you’re wrong, because it’s impossible not to make the politics of AI and spyware a part of the conversation about your digital privacy and security as well as mine. And someone please correct me if I’m wrong about NordVPN not being owned by the terrorist state of Israel so I can ditch them and find a legitimate VPN provider that actually does what they’re supposed to do. Thanks.
What a waste of money. I paid for a one year subscription because everyone is talking about how good it is. I never paid that much for any VPN. I been using it for a while. It started good but then it gets worst and it gets laggy a lot. It doesn’t even warn the user if the VPN has been disconnected or even send notification. When you first download the app it says to turn on the notifications for alerts but I have never gotten any notification. The customer service is very disappointing. I can’t believe I’m paying this much and the customer service is bad. They have a very bad attitude that’s just the tip of the iceberg. They don’t want to help. Lazy and they want to end the chat quick so they can move on. They don’t understand what the customer is trying to say. This is unbelievable. People are paying this much for no reason. The developers should know better and teach the workers how to do customer service. Show the customer that it’s worth the money. They think just because they have a lot of customer this will not effect anything if the customer service is bad or the app. And it keeps your data on the app. If they don’t fix the app and get the customer service to learn how to talk to people. This app will lose a lot of customers. I’m very disappointed by everything in this app. Most importantly the customer service is worst then the app.
Indispensable ! From BroncoBilly. Nord is one of the top 2 VPNs available to the consumer. I examined both and decided to go with Nord. I am in the unfortunate position of getting my wifi from a public hotspot. You need login credentials, but there is no security add-ons like WPSK2, WPA, etc. probably half of the city knows the login, so it's useless. You can go on Nord's website for particulars (and I strongly advise you to do so) and read the FAQS which are extremely thorough (also advise this). The features that impress me most : the number of servers across the globe; they own and control all servers; you can access the server with the least load and the fastest with one click or pick your own; their no log policy; and a one click button that severs you from the net if anything unforeseen happens. But most of all, the feature that is most useful to me (and I don't know how they do this) is if your wifi signal drops off and bumps off your VPN connection, Nord still keeps you protected during the time you need to re-establish your protection. That's why Nord is indispensable to me. For the most part, I can leave my phone and iPad on continuously and Nord stays with it for hour after hour. Ive seen uninterrupted VPN connections for up to 11 hours, without loss of protection. I don't think they would recommend doing this on a public network, but it is what it is. I was so impressed with Nord that I purchased a 3 year contract right off the bat, but you can pay month to month if you wish. Sorry for the length of this tome. I hope you will give Nord a shot. There are many great features I haven't even touched on.
From a Fan who lives in i RAN. hi ; i want to thank u for your good services, but here in iran>khorasan razavi>mashhad , on our top notch adsl a.k.a SHATEL (Premium) we have no choice except your obfusticated servers and we cannot connect by any other way, but its different when you use MTN irancell 4G internet , with this kinda internet we can connect with diffrent protocols , but for me our ADSL internet is my top choice not for being healthy ofcourse but to be faster , i wished if you could help me to be able to connect with my nasty telephone ADSL , i know the exact healthy term for this situation is "that is all for the Best" but i think maybe , that would make it little diffrent . i hope ; your better at analysing this kinda stuff but be aware that in our country our telephone lines capacity is more than full , in fact we people cannot see , i mean here the E.M.F is so high but yet everything we see has lots of pixel noisy movement inside especially new buildings , towers , sewer channels system inside ground , i should note that we haven't got any proper grounding system for our electric power switchs thus our telephone lines are as nasty as it gets, i hope you make best deciscions regarding this odd kinda problem that we have. best wishes Goodbye and Goodluck
Can’t configure, go figure.. Remote content being loaded on device through vpn configurations. Just can’t get this thing right. Forgive me Nord if This is incorrect. My google account keeps showing sites in my history that I didn’t visit. Nothing that appears to be abnormal or illegal, however the difference in suggestions I’ve received (free advice) are various. Someone suggested that embedded links could be hidden within. I am not tech savvy. Nor do I understand how my google can be used with the two factor authentication and no sign of unauthorized devices on my security checks. Many of the sites I visit contain areas of altered false information. I do have documentation of a few. Of course the isp has no idea nor any liability for anything they do. The terms and conditions one claims appear to release all from being accountable for anything. The legal acts of anti trust violations through harmless cookies shared within the party going on in networks of near monopoly control through mergers snd acquisitions appear to be preparing to rule the world somehow. That’s great and all but how can this occur and how do I get my real internet of credibility back? I attempted to report a safety issue to the NHTSA yesterday, only to notice the email address was altered and rerouted my message. I’m in a bubble here and I wanna pop it. Any suggestions?
98% Satisfied but nothing major!. I love having the extra security as I have a lot of sensitive material on my desktop, iPads and phones. My son (who is a technology wiz kid) has been trying to get me to purchase a VPN service for a long time but I wanted to make sure I got the right one. The only issue I do have with the app is in order to access some accounts or other apps, I have to pause the VPN service. So I have opened my material and other accounts up to have it hacked while accessing other important and needed programs and information. I do work quickly so I can resume my security but the thought of having around the clock security was great but having to pause, even for 5 minutes, kind of worries me. Besides that hiccup And another mentioned below, I am satisfied with the app and I am happy I got the two-year subscription. Also, another hiccup is the fact that I have the fastest speed internet connected to my business internet account which has always worked amazingly quick. Now my internet speed has slowed down tremendously and I have stalls while using my computer for Zoom meetings or streaming apps which I never had before.
BUYER BEWARE No header, I am a 90 day tester. I paid for a year subscription bc I read reviews on this being one of the best vpn so I was willing to pay the enormously expensive price of $100 a year but I am already annoyed. The interface is not as user friendly. There is no kill switch. There definitely should be a signal header to show customers that the vpn is active bc all others that aren't even close to this price has a notification header that shows it to be active so I don't have to check while streaming. Going forward I now expect to lose my money but I have a website that I will post a worldwide review of the claims and finding after testing the effectiveness of this vpn for 90 days. Our office was recommended to try this vpn out and so far I am not seeing how this can charge so much without a kill switch or icon headers next to the connection to notify users that the software is doing its job. If updates are made or anything is found I will keep updating my review for potential customers to be aware all the while preparing the review that will go viral if this vpn service is not what is claimed to be. I have already taken all names of websites and their articles claiming this vpn is the best. Hopefully I don't have to prove them wrong but however I would have to make my money back outing Nordvpn if necessary. Update: I change my review to up two stars bc I did see the vpn notification icon up top. I want to give it four stars so far.
Horrible customer service, won’t work when we need it. My husband and I are digital nomads. We have had and used Nord for over 2 years, in several locations in India, South America, Turkey, and the US and minimal issues until about 2 months ago. It just stopped working for us. We are in Turkey, had been for over a month and had no problems and now NordVPN wouldn’t let us do anything while we are connected, no internet, no apps, nothing. My husband has been chatting with customer service for nearly as long as we’ve had the issue and has tried every possible solution they’ve given, and then some (he’s well versed in IT), and nothing. We still cannot connect to the internet at all, on any of our 3 devices when we are connected to NordVPN. As I mentioned, we are digital nomads and need a VPN to do work, pay our taxes, etc. My husband found a free app, PrivadoVPN, and finally we can use the internet and apps with a VPN! (He also got ProtonVPN to work.) I messaged Nord one last time about the problem and they gave me the same “solutions” they gave my husband, saying it’s the country we’re in that doesn’t allow VPNs. If that were the case, the other VPNs wouldn’t work. It’s Nord that’s the issue and after 2 months, we’ve had it. Nord is horrible. They do not stand by their product and will give you a run around when it stops working, it’s called gaslighting, and it’s exhausting. So, we are out the money we’ve paid Nord, because they won’t refund us, and now have a useless product.
Excellent VPN compared to others I’ve used. I love everything about this particular VPN service. The only reason why I gave it a four versus five is that I would like away to guarantee that when I turn on my VPN, that it goes into double VPN mode. This will ensure extra protection, via jumping between, two different servers versus just one. It may not sound like a lot, but it’s a significant upgrade to a single VPN server. I would recommend to Nordic, VPN, to have some type of double VPN, with skipping or jumping technology, i.e. the capability to jump to multiple VPNs, maybe within the same country maybe not, but with the capability of skipping and changing servers and IP addresses, in order to ensure much more extra security. Other than this, this is an outstanding VPN service in my opinion. Update: after giving this review, further thought, I worked manually using the double VPN servers and refreshing the server, I found out that it refreshed me to another completely different double VPN server- that’s great and totally unexpected. To some people, VPN may be an exaggeration, however in the realities of free press and journalism and quite frankly protection from persecution from whatever particular country, agencies, police, etc. etc. it’s a nice safety thing to have. Anyway, I’m changing my review to five stars because this application truly is, easy to use and works very well. I installed it on my wife’s phone and she really knows nothing about VPN and security in general. While I thought there might be a few hangups, it’s been over two months and she doesn’t even notice a difference. So for everybody out there that wants to get this for a significant other or parents, kids, etc. program works by itself without any hiccups. My hats off too NordVPN and it’s staff!
Really inconvenient to use and interfere with computer function. I bought this vpn service a while ago but didn’t star use it till a month later and figured out it wouldn’t work for Asia countries: the internet was super slow to an unusable extent I asked for a refund they give me a firm no telling me that it passed 30 days. They walked me through a whole long complicated process to fix the connecting problem with Asia websites and then the next month when I try to use me computer to connect to my university library it just wouldn’t work and the reason is all the weird settings they have me done with my computer to get NordVPN to work. I just cannot tolerate the hassle anymore and they won’t give you refund anyway. The plan is for 3 years so basically you paid for 3 yrs for 0 services. Beware before you pay it doesn’t work well it may disrupt with normal functioning of your computer. The support team replied, but be ware they never solve your problem, neither will they provide you a solution. It’s always take longer to “babysit” the vpn than really using it. As mentioned in lots lots of reviews I saw, mostly of the time you paid for 3 yrs of zero service. No one has the time to trouble shoot for 1 he every time they want to use VPN. I only use it a few times a month and already spend most of the time trouble shooting, need my money back but couldn’t get it back.
Recommend 100%. I recommend this to anybody that wants to be stable, this company is reliable and affordable and when I say affordable hands-down compared to AT&T Verizon, any other company that offers VPN specially when it comes to Saily if you travel the country or just want extra security try that out. I support this company because I’ve been using it for me 5 to 6 years when I first look into having a VPN haven’t been disappointed since and my VPN runs all day all night on my device with no harassment that sound like a sales person but I’m not I just know a good working company that saves a lot of money that is because the company is smart. If you offer a cheaper plan, you will make more money with consumers because they will come, and that means the company will make more money. Very smart other companies should be that smart because if you think about it if you have the cheapest price, you’ll have more people sign up for your service. And be able to make that profit margin you want but also remember you have to have good features to go with it to back up everything you say and this company does. OK I wanna make it too long so other words I highly recommend it 110,000% hands-down enjoy
Accessibility Issues But App Is Great For The Most Part. The Nord VPN APPLICATION is user friendly for the most part and all functions are made available to those with blindness or low vision. However, the tool bar at the bottom of the screen does not clearly identify which tab a person with blindness using a screen reader such as Apple's Voiceover is used for. In order for a blind person like myself to understand or identify which tab has been selected in the Nord VPN's toolbar, one must just explore the tool bar and it's assigned functionality. For example, if I wish to navigate to the settings tab located in the bottom right hand corner of the screen while using the application, my screen reading software, which is Apple Voiceover in this case, will announce the tab in the toolbar as tab 4 of 4. This is somewhat helpful. However, the app would be a little easier for a blind person to use if the application could work a little more seemlessly with Apple's screen reading software which is built into every Apple device. Also, when in the application, there are other functions that are identified as buttons while using a screen reader. The only way to identify these so-called buttons is to activate or tap them. All I'm really saying here is simply that Nord Vpn could afford to be a little more accessable. By addressing the needs of those who rely on screen readers, you will also be placing the Nord VPN APLICATION at the head of the pack because other providers which I will not name here are also lacking in this area. If you're a blind person using a screen reader, you will be able to navigate this application, but you will simply have to explore some things and familiarize yourself with the functions which the developer has not addressed as far as beeing accessible for blind or low vision users are concerned.
Recurring payment scam!. While the service worked well while I needed it. After believing I had stoped my membership, and based on that I (erroneously) assumed that it would stop my recurring payments. To my surprise those were not stopped! Immediately after I found out I had been charged I contacted the company as informed them that I had not been using the service and I had canceled my membership a couple weeks ago and requested a refund. Well, I was denied a refund at every level of customer support. Apparently I had missed a step in the cancelation process, and therefore there was no way to give me a refund. I believe they make their cancelation process and their stop recurring payment process purposely complicated so that they can get at least one more payment from their customers. I’m upset and disappointed but not surprised that a company would value profit over customer service. To add, I could have canceled my service and asked for a full refund within the first 30 days (as their terms allow for full refund for any reason within 30days) however I thought that would be unfair to the company as I had actually used their service with little to no issue. That being said, I will never recommend this company, and I will use a different vpn service in the future.
AutoConnect feature not working!. When ever my I-Phone is turned off, upon restart, AutoConnect does nothing to reset the NordVPN connection, even though I always keep the AutoConnect feature on. I always have to “manually” reconnect to the VPN. If I don’t do this, NordVPN remains non functional, and there is no notification that the VPN is not functioning. I now understand that NordVPN is not activated when a trusted Wi-Fi is also active. One could thus conclude that one doesn’t need a VPN if one has Wi-Fi. Yet, use of Wi-Fi results in the very consequences that a VPN is advertised to prevent. So the real question is, “should a user utilize a VPN only if “TRUSTED” Wi-Fi is not present?”. The NordVPN software ask’s if any Wi-Fi it detects is trusted, there is no indication that if the user answers in the affirmative, the VPM will not function, in the present of such a connection. When I saw the question, I wondered just what criteria I should consider before answering this query. The NordVPN “App” offered no help in this regard. If the reality is that a VPN is of no use if you have Wi-Fi, this should be made clear in the advertisements for the service or alternatively it should be stated that one can’t simultaneously use a VPN and Wi-Fi at the same time. In fact I wondered about this at the time I was considering getting a VPN. I couldn’t understand how the VPN could get between the Wi-Fi connection and the internet at large. But I didn’t push hard enough on this issue, my fault I fear.
THE best on the market… except…. I have been using NORD VPN for about a year now - the price is absolutely wonderful for a three year sub, with 5 devices that can be used at the same time. You can even use this on your WW-DRT router and protect everything to which it connects! Servers all around the world - and they are FAST! I barely see ANY lag when using the VPN. Some sites will not allow me to use it and still log in (T-Mobile, My Bank, etc.). However… The desktop version allows me to specify apps for which the VPN does not protect - called split tunneling. The app for iOS has NO such feature. When I contacted them to ask about it I got a terse response telling me that NordVPN does not use split tunneling at all. Obviously someone does not know there own product and needs to be retrained by management! If they would add the split tunneling option to the iOS app it would be a perfect 5 star rating. I have to disconnect the VPN so that I can check my email simply because the email servers at Spectrum (Charter) will not allow a connection through a VPN - at least not somewhere out of country (I have not tried anything here in the US). This is a real PITA - especially if I forget to disconnect first, then have to go BACK and try again, then reconnect again… and if under a severe time crunch it just holds me back.
Pretty good app, needs improvement. I downloaded this app about a Month ago after I realized that I’m being tracked a lot and that freaked me out. It does not work if you get banned on Omegle though which was a let down for me but it is still useful for other things like just changing your IP address which is good for when trolls try to read out your ip to freak you out. It definitely makes me feel safer and fits my needs. It is definitely not needed if you don’t care about being tracked or having your information encrypted. Overall this app is very easy to use and easy to change your location which you can just tap and it changes. It has hundreds of servers all over the world which is nice. I have one account and have it on my phone and my pc and they aren’t synced so you can connect to one server on my phone and another on my pc and have different ip’s on different devices. I recommend This app to paranoid people like me or people who are sick of letting people get ahold of their ip. One other reason I gave this 4 stars is because it is slow at times, most of the time it isn’t a issue but sometimes my browser wont load and I have to restart it. Not a huge issue as it is rare but I’m sure that they are working to make it faster. TLDR: recommend this app to people who talk online to strangers a lot and don’t want people finding your address or if you have extra money and want a vpn for whatever reason
APP TRIAL IS A SCAM. I trialed this app for a day and decided to cancel. You are instructed to login to NordVPN to cancel subscription. App Store doesn’t let you cancel the subscription when it hasn’t been activated (during trial). NordVPN login page takes to an insecure site on every browser so I was unable to login. This was in May, and we are now in November same issue. I believe this is a deliberate setup so you cannot cancel. On May 18 I emailed NordVPN support to inform them I want to cancel, and deleted app in App Store. NordVPN didn’t not reply. On May 31st App Store charged me NordVPN annual subscription fee and I did not receive any notification of this fee. I didn’t realize until November and raised a refund request to App Store to be informed by their robot this doesn’t qualify for a refund (presumably because eit was requested outside of 30 days). I contacted NordVPN support and provided to request a refund but got the runaround. They state I have to go to App Store for refund and insisted they replied to my email on May 18th (they did not). I left thinking that this was a scripted response to a scam setup designed to fleece trialists out of $91. They must be aware that the App Store policy is flawed and run by robots and they can get away with this fraud and App Store won’t penalize them. If you happen to trial this service make sure you request apple refund within 30 days of the fee being sneakily added to your account or you will be left in the same boat
Sad to report that NordVPN is unpredictable now. Nord worked great for a long time. But when my subscription ended last month Nord prevented my wifi from working and also prevented me from accessing my data with my phone. I had to randomly try turning it off. If the subscription is ending, then just end and stop trying to connect to the VPN that is no longer available. Despite this, because I needed a VPN and it had worked well in the past, I renewed for a month. Now there are too many times when I turn it on, and the VPN simply prevents me from accessing any websites or connecting to data and is completely useless and I have to turn it off to actually do anything. For example, if I put a search into Google, then my browser might just spin indefinitely and never move. As soon as I turn Nord off it works fine again. I am not sure the monthly price is justified based on the inconsistency. I am not as trusting of NordVPN after mostly having good experiences with it because it now feels too erratic. That being said, it works great when it's actually working and I do believe they can make tweaks to fix these problems. Just a little frustrating at the moment.
NordVPN are cyber scammers. Zero stars! All you get are apologies.. They’re NOT HONEST. NordVPN may be a cover to cyber crime their customers. I had 2 subscriptions and during that time I experienced so much cyber crime! I constantly caught it. At first I just wanted to change my email address and that grueling experience led to distrust of them no matter how much proof of ID and purchase I provided. I used them for years but I was so abrasively dogged the last couple of years, I reported it to the FBI and I caught license plates & their U.S. army veteran status. NordVPN are crooks and ALL YOU GET ARE APOLOGIES. NO PROGRESS. Apple Care certainly helped with the one subscription bought through the App Store. Nord still won’t remove me from their database. They keep your info. At first I wasn’t associating cyber crime and tracking me with this company but having been dogged by Mexicans so much as far as shooting a tracker in my shoulder which has painfully gone off by U.S. veterans including people who’s ethnicity is from south of border where Nord has their headquarters, considering California’s values are all about money, that my phone conversations are tapped, the fact I’m a low key law abiding citizen, with no criminal record whatsoever, I’m just a smart healthy athlete, I’d never trust anyone south of the border, this company, their ethnicity anywhere in the world & their lack of scruples, Californians, the military or law enforcement. The very people we pay our tax dollars to, no I wouldn’t trust this company.
Reír 1 of VON’s. The way this world is this day in age it has become paramount to secure your identity and web footprint. I struggled over 2 weeks trying to make the best informed decision when it came to having a VPN! After testing a few other top recommend companies, I found myself coming back to NordVPN! Sure the financial side kinda hurt but after having my identity stolen not once, but twice it became a necessity to secure my online footprint! I finally ended up with Nord and tried them out. I was very impressed with how many countries they have, and the level of security it provided! I’m not gonna go all out and say I sleep better at night, but i definitely feel less stressed and anxious when it comes to internet surfing! To all the staff at Nord…I thank you for your professionalism and making a app that is user friendly! Have definitely recommend this to my family and friends. I hope, should you’ve read this far, that you have become better informed by a active NordVPN user! Godbless our Country and may God continue to bless NordVPN with longevity and top security!!!!
Ozones76. Nord VPN is intuitive and user-friendly enough for even the most technically challenged computer users. Biggest downside is if network connectivity can’t be established, rather than simply timing out so devises can function without VPN for time being, it will continue searching and keeping offline until such time as I manually refresh connection attempts. This is most problematic when in the middle of emailing or downloading files for work and suddenly notice internet is disconnected which means messages have not been processing. Also a problem, and one I doubt is the neither responsible for or able to avoid, is popup ads on websites are no longer blocked. This started about a year ago or so when companies started to deploy various AI technologies online, and would have hoped VPN developers would have had time to do the same to combat this. But now sites either won’t let you in because they recognize VPN is being used, or you do get through and popups are then allowed. Again, might simply be new way of things because popups and push adds are such a huge part of internet revenue streams.
The Best VPN on the Market.. I know there’s a lot of people they will claim that they have the best VPN, and maybe they are some good VPN’s out there. I have checked more than a dozen of them. I compare the prices, speed, security and Customer service. If you want to get the best Service you need to do your research. I just did that. I do my research for anything I buy on line. It’s the thing you just have to do it. So you won’t complain. I received advertising email I believe, I thought the VPN is only for people who goes outside the USA, I was totally unaware of that VPN can actually work locally. And I jumped right into it after I did some reading about it and deep research how this really works. I believe decent amount of people is not educated enough about the role VPN play in their daily life, when they are using cell phones, iPods and other electronics to connect with the world. The security is foremost important aspect of connecting via the instruments and stay save in the very insecure world of Internet. I purchased NORD VPN because of the quality service and speeds. I believe my VPN is absolutely fabulous I have no problem connecting disconnecting change in VPN from place to place within United States or around the world. In final note, I strongly recommend Nord VPN FOR FEW IMPORTANT REASON: the price I mean you can’t be that no one can beat that price, speed and customer service. Thank you for your business and excellent service. I will continue to use it till the time comes that I won’t be happy anyone. But that most unlikely. Please keep up the great service. Thank You. CZESLAW KNOBBE
Was good, now crap.. It was good, but over time the service gets slower, fails to connect and if you reach customer service they will blame your device so there is no accountability. So it works 80% of the time, it if I were you start elsewhere, they are just a company that is too big wielding their marketing clout to get you to sign up with them. Also, they push updates that don’t run on software that apple t supports, which could force you to upgrade your OS to use the vpn which will probably break versions of other software that you do not want to update because your current app versions would not support the new OS. This happened to me, avoid NordVPN. You can probably do better. To top it off, they will respond to this post with a canned response that is slightly edited, to give the appearance of caring. Save yourself. Buy another vpn elsewhere and pay monthly especially because once you sign up for a one time “savings” they make it difficult to get your money back. I’d have to take them to small claims court, but I am short on time. Maybe in a month or so, because in New York it’s not legal to charge people for services not delivered, and once they try to shift the blame to me for not constantly upgrading my os to work with their “feature” upgrades, it becomes clear they break their own product. AVOID. Buy something else.
Poised to rule the VPN seas, but weird connection glitches give an uneven experience. The good: 1) No-log servers, confirmed by independent audit. This is the main reason I’m a customer. 2) Pretty fast compared to other VPN’s. 3) Good distribution of service. 5000+ VPN servers in 60+ countries. 4) Flexible connection options — you can chose from IKEv2, OpenVPN via either TCP or UDP, and their own NordLynx protocol. 5) Flexible payment options. They accept crypto and PayPal (once again) so you don’t have to give them your credit card info. The bad: 1) The nearly unforgivable, and this may cause me to choose another provider if it continues — on iOS, silently disconnecting from the VPN and staying on network even with connection type Automatic active. Should never happen. If you get disconnected from the VPN with Automatic on, it should block all network traffic until it can reconnect — or until you turn Automatic off or disable the VPN. Defeats the point of even using a VPN if you can’t be 100% sure you’re connected! 2) Most Nord VPN servers are fine, but sometimes it keeps connecting to a really slow one, forcing you into a minigame of reloading until you find an adequate one. 3) Occasional billing issues when extending service with a promo.
Honestly the best. I’ve tried express, pia, and other “free” vpn’s and they actually can’t compare. They’re not terrible but not the best. Honestly free VON’s are why I wish I never tried them because they basically sell your data for money right behind your back which is the OPPOSITE of why you use a VPN. You don’t know where your personal data is going. I did some research on Nord, and discovered they are pretty much the only one with un-hackable software and security. I know we like to be skeptical, but I honestly feel like NordVPN does care. I also have had zero issues with data connection other than me needing to manually go into the application, and refresh my IP connection to a different server and it just works! It’s not just about being a customer, it’s about giving the people what they want when it comes to giving access in hopes of “is my data actually safe?” running in the back of my head. Who truly knows?…But if it’s genuinely protecting my data from lunatics on the dark web who want nothing more than to take away your personal information, then I say it’s 110% worth it. I feel like from someone who doesn’t really know too much about VPN’s, I’ve come to learn that if it’s protecting you from WiFi and other unsecured networks, and giving you A-Grade data connection to servers across the globe, keeping you online with top grade encryption and keeping your data safe…then that is what truly matters.
Had a review written but apparently Nord doesn’t like poor reviews. Had just submitted a review through the link on the Nord app but because I rated them a 2 because there are issues with using map navigation when Nord is connected. However as I clicked the submit button it said “not connected” which has now dropped them to a 1 star rating. If you try to use map navigation when Nord is connected you would be very lucky to get that feature to work. If it does and you bounce off of another cell tower you navigation will suddenly stop. Had this happen twice on a 10 minute, 5 mile drive today. Had it happen yesterday for a 4 mile, 4 minute drive where the navigation wouldn’t even work. Had to use the phone settings to disconnect the Nord app as it wouldn’t even pause in the app itself. Changed the app settings to “on Wi-Fi only” and even set my personal Wi-Fi as a trusted network so hopefully it won’t lose the map navigation when I start out at my own home. In this last trip Nord connected to Denver, then reconnected to United Kingdom, and then to United Arab Emarites. Had to set the server connection to United States and fastest in US to hopefully stop the server bouncing as well. Don’t go with their recommended settings when it comes to server and auto connect or you will get screwed over when using map navigation apps.
Read this before making a decision. The reviews are a joke. This is a scam pressuring you to ‘buy’ without trying the app firsthand. I think the reviews criteria should be changed to allow reviews to take a critical examination of this flawed app which has a similar issue of another security software for Verizon Digital Sexure by Verizon. The software contains a flawed function which impedes your ability to go to the App Store or to view the video because it requires an uninterrupted cellular transmission. Without that functionality, you can be sure that your phone will have problems which in that case, Digital Secure will cause your phone to act strangely or even worse, to crash forcing you to do a clean install to revert it to factory settings which to me is quite frustrating. To makes matter worse why would a developer be allowed to force you to pay for the app without trying it out first? To me, it’s a rip off because the developer are stealing funds from me by forcing me to purchase the app or the service first before trying out the app because if the app is having serious problems, I have no choice but to remove it and to try out another vpn app that works. Also I will be focusing on a perspective lawsuit towards Apple for allowing fake reviews without the reviewers even trying out the app firstly before making a consistent statement that supports the app’s actual function rather than making baseless claims without actually trying out the app.
Great. The app has been great to me, I don’t know why the negative reviews. I don’t get it. Could it be my provider? Newer hardware? No idea. Everything has been great except quick connect or “fastest server” puts me in Texas and I’m on the east coast so I have to manually select the server or use Nord’s website to find the closest server using a server ID number. Cyber sec is welcome and appreciated. Much appreciated actually. But after testing it’s only missing a few device trackers. Apple specifically it doesn’t block apple support metrics. The only way I can break the app and me really trying is selecting a bunch of servers and having it connect, reconnect with those servers breaks the vpn connecting which requires you to go into iOS settings and delete the NordLynx or whatever protocol you chose and remove the profile completely. And re-load the app and select a different server and wait for the pop-up to re establish the vpn connection to Nord. And one other problem is you have to pause the connection or delete the vpn profile as I’ve said to update the app entirely. My review is based currently on the performance of the app. I don’t see how you wouldn’t have a server as close to you as this company tries to get. Compared to other companies it doesn’t get better than this without kissing a**. They are arguably better than most as getting the server close to you. Just little bugs here and there. But nothing super phone breaking or annoying. This is running on iPhone 11. And as like I said I have no idea if it’s hardware or provider why my experience for the most part. Has been pleasant. Thanks for reading if you made it this far.
Great Service. I find NordVPN a great service. I researched long and hard to see if there were any definite winners, and there were not. I think the biggest problem is potential conflicts of interest with the various reviewers. Still NordVPN seemed to come out at or near the top in most of the reviews, so with that I decided to give them a try. This is my first try at a VPN service, as such, so I am far from an expert in his area. I was looking for basically three things 1)ease of use, 2) security , and 3) speed. With NVPN I have been very pleased with all three, but there is a little room for improvement. This could easily be a stellar 5 Star service if they tweaked their client apps a bit. I have a 60 Mbps Internet service. My normal worst case is to drop to 20 Mbps. This sounds terrible, but it is not as bad as it sounds IMO. By switching to a different lightly loaded server, however, my speed only drops to around 55-58 Mbps which is basically imperceptible. Some of NVPN’s client apps make it easy to locate and select a nearby lightly loaded server and others don’t. It is important to seek out a good server if you are getting a real performance hit, so if NVPN would build this manual capability into their clients, through filtering etc, they would be exceptional and definitely 5 Star.
lost my password to login already after less than a month.. Lost my password to login already after less than a month. It has been compromised. It should not have lost the login password. ALso, there is no dedicated IP state connection to Tennessee, or North Carolina, or Virginia, or United States, hardly. For the cost, there should be more local states included in the VPN areas. The dedicated VPN Locations have less states included in the United States. I would not trust the password storage app, since it lost my login password, already. I doubt I trust their locker, since the password was compromised someone has access to anything I would have stored in the locker. I had the Apps only less than a month. So far it is not great. I need to log in to contact customer support. Without access I cannot. I hope to access my account. Hopefully, my email address was not also changed by whoever NordVPN allowed to access my account. On the IOS Apple version, there is not a KILL Switch. I paused the VPN and was able to surf without the VPN CONNECTED. I WANT A KILL Switch for mobile devices and I want it to work. Otherwise, I want a full refund since it is not working.
Overall degrading operability. I’ve been using NordVPN for over 5 years on my phone and several PC’s. While the NordVPN PC software has been more or less flawless (a few hiccups here and there), the iOS app has been nose diving for months now. The biggest problem I’m battling with is reliable, consistent connectivity. I’ll be using my phone and if/when I remember to check the VPN it won’t be connected (even with auto connect enabled), or I’ll be logged out and need to go through the whole setup process again. Other times it will simply be stuck in a “trying to connect” state (this completely cuts off my connection and is instantly noticeable). This either happens all on its own, or the cycle happens when I attempt to switch servers. Often times I need to close the app and reboot the phone. Sometimes I need to uninstall and reinstall the app to bring everything back to normal. Frustrating to say the least. And before anyone thinks it’s my phone, I have two phones and it happens on both (rarely in tandem). I’ve been a loyal fan of NordVPN and have convinced others through the years to use their service. My loyalty is fading, at least with the mobile app. Again, the PC software has been fine, it’s the mobile side of things that are getting worse, not better. Please focus on quality control, Nord. Otherwise I’ll be looking for a new provider once my subscription is up for renewal.
Constant latency, app freezes, terrible. Update: Nord Support reached out to me and I appreciated that. The issues noted below seem to have resolved on their own. Not sure what was going on before but have had few issues over the past day or so. Upgrading to 3 stars, and if reliability remains in 30 days will upgrade to four. Initial experience precludes five stars in any case. I thought all the five stars would result in reliable service. It does not. Here’s what I got instead: Constant connection failures. App simply freezes Finds a server then stalls waiting for an IP address that won’t get assigned - and you can’t do anything until the app decides to give up. Constantly having to “find” new servers after the connected one stops working, and the app doesn’t inform you; you just get failures to find an address, or other apps don’t work; Sometimes I have to reboot the phone; Using the major web players out there, you will soon be in a cat and mouse game where they block servers, the app stalls while trying to find others, and all your connected smart devices stop responding. Nest? Will require you to sign back in. Alexa? No smart devices can be found. You Tube? Enjoy the blocked server message. They have yet to even respond to any support request. Not one. The reality? Privacy is promised by this app but your providers will be predatory in preventing you from having it and this app is woefully inadequate. My conclusion? Waste of money for an unreliable network. If you like watching a frozen app, this app is a must have.
Nord vpn is pretty good, but I would like to see more features. I paid for more vpn for more security on my desktop and the phone app was a welcome addition. On pc I have no problems that I have come across yet, but on mobile I have a few. My main gripe is that there doesn’t seem to be a way to whitelist/blacklist apps. This means that apps that I trust like my team member app through work and my bank app are still ran through the same server as all the other ones. This is only a problem because these apps require me to use 2 factor identification every time I log in while connected to nord, which sounds like a mild inconvenience. This is more of an issue with my work app however, as whoever designed the captcha for it forgot to make sure the whole thing was on the screen. I either have to skip until I get a captcha prompt that is only on the right side of the screen or I have to turn nord vpn off for the time I use the app. This inconvenience sounds minor but it doesn’t have to be this way, I assume whitelisting is possible on mobile just as it is on pc, and I would enjoy not having to turn my private network off every time I look at my schedule. Please get back to me with an explanation as to how this will be implemented or why it cannot.
leaves plenty to be desired. where to start? constantly insisting that payment method needs updating when it doesn't. took away or perhaps never had the ability to review logs, even for attempted tech support. uses the exact and i mean EXACT same bunch of ip addresses for just about all locations/ "specialty server". doesn't have the ability to cloak from other local ip addresses so you've always got this nice unnecessary proxy to you device up and running at all times. oh and the largest of all, which i had to collect the desktop version's logs to prove, but i guess the app likes to communicate with google a whole lot and while doing so, fingerprints you and loads what appears to be some preset config so that you're communicating with the exact same devices every time you connect. (meshnet disabled on all devices btw). also no tech support option in the app. would make this rant less public but even protonvpn, pia, etc offer that. oh and i disabled smart dns only to find that my nord app still like to make requests to that same dns server unless i set a custom one myself. over all look snd feel of the app is nice though. if possible, it would be nice to see that when you quick connect to a non-specialty server that the app clearly reflects that you are indeed connected to a P2P server, not whatever used to be the "standard" servers from a few years ago. i understand that they're essentially the same so no issues with it other than the lack of clarity. yup. btw my special configuration seems to have been made by an Archer fan (FX). i did get a chuckle out of that before realizing that i wasnt crazy in that im still somehow totally identifiable despite using a vpn to feign some anonymity. but thats a whole thing.
Great VPN that just started killing my connectivity. I’ve used Nord for several years, it’s on all my Macs and this iPhone. I’ve been running Nord for about 2 years on my iPhone with good service and zero issues, until yesterday morning…Got the phone off charge and no wifi connection to my router, all Macs are connected and the 3 other iPhones (without Nord) are connected fine. I’m pretty savvy when it comes to the desktop machines, and not so bad on the cell phones…I did everything you can try to make this work and was lost, no wifi, no internet, but at least I could make and receive calls. Begrudgingly I took it to the Apple store, explained what was going on in depth, the guy instantly removed Nord and my phone was back to me where it should be in about a minute. I reinstalled Nord later that evening and it shut me down again, same issues, had to take it right back off…I like Nord, I hope this gets updated/fixed so I can continue to use it on my iPhone in addition to all the desktops. I should have mentioned that this is an iPhone XR running the latest IOS version 14.8.
It never really worked. I had nord vpn for a year and it was always annoying to run as no website, app, connection or my watch would work properly with the vpn on. It was supposed to be on auto connect and cut the connection when it dropped, well that never happened and it also dropped about 25 times a day causing me to go into the app, try to select anything that was always frozen and would not work so I had to go into settings turn off auto connect then turn on auto connect then actually hit the button to connect because it will not on its own. I had to do this anytime I wanted to do anything with my phone or watch, the problem would go away with a complete erase and reinstall of their vpn profile but again who wants to do all of this every few days? My final reason for canceling: I woke up and couldn’t log in and the app said my password changed? I have never changed my password, well when I tried over 24 hours to get tech support and they would not help because they said I should have gotten 1 of the 30 password recovery email and I just did not see it in my folder? Really? Its not in any folder; inbox, sent, junk, trash or deleted and when I reply to them with this issue I get a generic response to do the same thing over and over and to be sure I have not been hacked because this is so weird and I seem to get no help from tech support, I canceled my subscription and deleted the app.
Have been with Nord for seven years. Quality of product in the value for the price point is unequivocally unmatched their direct competitors are years behind their vast rate of high speed servers as well as the other products they tie in such as NordPass in NordLocker providing some of the best encryption and no log policy really advocating for Internet privacy and high-end encryption. we are talking military grade encryption with minimal leaks and a no log policy that I find unrivaled with their competitors I will say this over and over if I could give them 10 stars I would definitely a five star product with a five star value. and they only keep getting better offering a wider array of options and products their closest competitors I would say are about 8 to 10 years behind them with them catching up would take a massive breach on Nords part which I highly doubt would ever happen. for the about $75 a year I spend subscribing to all their products yearly I know that my storage is safe my connection is safe and don’t have to worry about my ISP spying on me or turning my logs over to law-enforcement allowing me to rest assured that my connections are almost leak proof and my storage has military grading encryption knowing that most hackers of the caliber would take to penetrate their encryption levels are more likely hacking governments large banks etc. Not the storage files of a relatively small data company. Nord is hands-down the best product available at the most competitive price point there really isn’t a direct competitor the day there is I’ll be glad to edit this review
DON’T get if you like constant work. Update: The more I use this service the less I’m convinced Nord is actually a “real” service. I log into one area of the US and then go to one of my frequently used sites that requires a password. I go through the accepting “a new device” routine because the NordVPN is, in some ways, doing what it’s supposed to be doing. But then on confirming the “new device” which is actually the same device(s) I use every day, the log in says the device is IN A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT AREA THAN WHAT I’M SUPPOSED TO BE CONNECTED TO!!!!!!!!! For example, “supposedly” I’m connected in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA…..but the confirmation says it’s coming from California. This kind of thing is a massive loss of confidence on the part of the consumer and I would urge anyone reading this, if in the US, to ensure NordVPN is doing what exactly it says it’s doing and if you have doubts. I’m assuming this service actually works but I would recommend going with another provider. In order for this to work you must constantly reconnect the service in the app. I have to do this approximately 5 to 10 times (or more) a day. So many times throughout the day when I put my phone down for a while then pick it up my wi-fi service is out because the Nord is not connected or times out when it’s trying to connect itself to a server. This happens over and over and over again. Every time this happens I have to open the app and hit the “connect” button. While I enjoy the “thought” of this VPN, I would not recommend this particular service if you don’t like having to constantly reconnect the app.......like most of humanity in most situations. 👎
ZERO STARS - Terrible, crashes my laptop. NordVPN was rec’d to me and I am so sorry I tried it out. It took out my Internet connection on a new Mac laptop, making me think that I had been hacked, and it took multiple calls with Verizon and Apple to figure out that NordVPN was the culprit. I emailed them 2x today and no response at all. Their Live Chat button on their website does not work when you click it. Now it’s acting up again at night- same issues: not connecting to VPN servers no matter what country I try, repeatedly putting up pop up windows asking me to give Nord Lynx VPN for my login keychain password so that 3 windows in a row were up at one time, and none could be closed out when I hit any of the options - Allow, Deny, or Always Allow. I took a screen shot to email to them in a 3rd support email but then it completely knocked out my Internet connection again so I couldn’t even share that. When I rebooted, it immediately went to asking me for my keychain password again. I disabled “startup at login” and had to manually uninstall this horrid software. I’m not sure how a co can release a product like this and call it security. I’m calling AMEX to have this charge reversed and am switching to any other VPN service. I wasted most of my working hours today trying to just get online, only to be kicked off time and again. Use them at your own risk.
AutoConnect fails too often. On multiple occasions I find that I am not connected to a VPN server, even though my settings are set to “Always Connect.” The app notes state that the Kill Switch should sever my connections to servers, yet when I look at any IP checking website, I see my true IP showing. This isn’t the reliability I’d hoped for. UPDATE: the app seems to be getting less reliable. On each of my devices, at least once per week, I am either logged out or just not connected, and the Kill Switch does not prevent a webpage from opening. I have chatted with NordVPN support multiple times, and they always have a “solution” and tell me to contact them if the situation recurs. And it always does — even after uninstalling and re-installing the app multiple times. ANOTHER UPDATE: the Help Desk has me switching VPN protocols again. It doesn’t seem to help. ANOTHER UPDATE: several days have passed. After multiple emails back and forth, and following their advice to uninstall, reinstall, change protocols, change servers, etc., the problems remain. The app is just not working right. The Kill Switch is not preventing me from connecting to the internet with my true IP address showing. And Auto-Connect is doing nothing. UPDATE: upgraded to 3 stars as stability has returned for iPad, but not for iPhone
**UPDATED BELOW** (Previous: Would be 4-5 Stars — Terrible Customer Service Experience Recenty). iOS 15 for NordVPN doesn’t allow user to add a trusted wifi network under any of the protocols. I’ve had to email customer service 10 times back and forth. They knew iOS 15 was coming out. They refuse to give a timeline on an update for when the “Add Trusted Network” feature will be available for iOS 15. Customer Service has had me switch protocols from my preferred NordLynx (and the Recommended protocol according to NordVPN) to Open UDP, P2P, etc. Less secure. Unacceptable. Then when I ask for prorated refund if they can’t fix this issue, they remind me I accepted terms and conditions WHICH I OBVIOUSLY KNEW! Thought that was rude, uncalled for, and unprofessional — as is not being prepared for the iOS 15 update when it was announced ≈ 2-3mos prior to the release of the iOS 15 update. Unacceptable. Very disappointed in customer service and the lack of the ability to add my trusted network. UPDATED: I finally received a response and was granted 2 months for the inconvenience caused and am appreciative of the fact that I was granted the aforementioned extension due to the issues that occurred. Once I updated to iOS 15.1, the issue was resolved. I have updated to 5 stars due to the fact that I was compensated for the issue at hand [which was that I couldn’t add my home (“Trusted Wifi”) as a trusted network.] Thanks to the team, although it took much longer than I would expect as a paying customer, but I’m appreciative of the fact that they added 2 months to my subscription.
Logging in is a nightmare. This stupid app keeps randomly logging me out every now and then even though I’m not using all my allotted devices. There is no reason to be logged out randomly. This would be a minor nuisance if it weren’t for the fact that logging back in sometimes just doesn’t work. This has happened multiple times and each time seems to have a different error than the last time, sometimes I can figure it out and am able to sign in that day but not always. I use “sign in with google” and never had problems with it except on this app. This results in a device not having access for days or weeks at a time until it randomly decides to work again. Edit: I tried all the solutions the devs replied to this review with before I posted my initial review to begin with. Currently, the app logged me out again for no reason like the garbage app it is and in the country I happen to be in right now it refuses to log me back in. This is not the first time this has happened, last time the second I was left this country it logged in no problem and considering I’m going to be here for a while for work I’m basically screwed and forced to get another VPN subscription. Out of all the vpn subscriptions Nord was the only one that consistently presents logging in issues and is not transparent about why it logs you out randomly to begin with.
TURN OFF YOUR SUBSCRIPTION AS SOON AS YOU PURCHASE. Nord vpn is a solid product. The biggest down side is the way Nord VPN conducts business, I think the FTC should look into their practices. You’re going to find your self using the product a few times and then out of nowhere get billed $170 for a subscription you totally forgot about. Most companies tend to send you a follow up email that they are going to renew the subscription but oddly Nord doesn’t. I sent an email out to support the day after my card was billed to ask for a refund and that I no longer want the service. Angelina Chapa the customer support representative responded 4 days later telling me that I signed the terms of service already. I totally understand that but most businesses are also understanding about the situation and tend to usually help the customer out. I emailed them back explaining my situation and that it was a mistake and I did not know I was still under the contract. She responded 3 days later refusing to help and stating again that I signed the terms of service. What I concluded from this is that Nord VPN isn’t transparent with their customers and are looking for every way to pinch a penny out of their customers. I also noticed how difficult it was to cancel your subscription, there are so many ways to make it easy to upgrade but when it comes to canceling it feels like a loop hole. Watch out with Nord VPN when you purchase and just cancel your subscription as soon as you do :) Read what you sign, we all tend to skim/skip over and just use the product.
Garbage. By far one of the worst apps I have ever downloaded for my iPhone. The app never works and it never connects to a server ever. And when it does I have no idea because the widget says I’m not connected. It spontaneously says I’ll be connected to a vpn when I am actually not or vice versa and this is the SPECIFIC reason why I got this app. I need to be able to see my vpn status at a glance and then quickly disconnect or connect to a vpn server while I’m using different networks without having to dig around in the settings every time I need to hop off and back on a vpn. After days and days and days of hard to understand emails from a support tech at nordvpn that made me do all kinds of tweaks and changes to my settings and had me download a certificate on my phone it still does not work, and after I deleted the certificate they told me to download and I deleted the app from my phone and changed back all my settings my phone doesn’t work right now and barely connects to any kind of network even cellular! Thanks nordvpn! I wasted a two year subscription for this extremely garbage product that I can’t believe nordvpn is actually trying to sell and won’t refund me. Unfortunately I am switching back to Windscribe even tho they are based in Canada their service and apps have just always worked, or maybe I’ll look into expressvpn. Please do not ever choose nordvpn for your services.
BEWARE of their SCAM tactics!. yesterday wanted to subscribe to VPN services 1 yr plan with the, supposedly, "free 30 day refund". After entering my payment option I was charged for a 2 year plan with an additional service I don't care for "password protection". contacted customer support to cancel at least this ridiculous password protection was told I will have to cancel the whole "bundle", to expect a refund within few business days. They claimed it was cancelled. It was NOT! Was hoping I can start over again and make sure I check only the VPN subscription (see I thought it was a glitch, an oversight on my part). I read other victims reviews and saw one that said you need to go to their web site to cancel. I did, found that I am still "active". Their website would not allow you to cancel. You can only cancel auto renewal or "change/ edit your subscription" for more subscriptions Only Or cancel "auto renewals". So I'm locked into a 2 year plan that I did not subscribe for!!! I paid by my credit card, have to wait for my CC statement to dispute their fraudulent charges. Hope I don't have to spend more time going through a BBB complaint as well. Highway robbery! total SCAM!!!!! I those online app articles of top app reviews are fudged big time to get people to click for their online "free 30 day trial" SCAM. Once you click, they get your payment info, you are screwed. I wish I read customers reviews before I clicked. I used to trust those non ad expert reviews. Never again!! BEWARE!
Drops and Slowly Plods Along. I’m beginning to believe that NordVPN sets up first time users on a great speedy and stable server while in the introductory trial period and the moment the free user flips to being a paid customer...Alacazam! The carpet quickly gets yanked out from under us and we’re dumped into Slow Server and Dropping Disconnect Land. I mean... when I was using a trial membership, I remember connecting to a server that was located right here in my own home city of San Antonio. Not long after I remember purchasing into your agreement I noticed that San Antonio server was no longer available and for some reason I now always get put into Denver’s or Miami’s servers which are not fast, not stable and not convenient. I’ve got to go read the contract to see if I can cancel my membership long before the two-year subscription has been resolved. Also, whoever is the person that comments on every rating and/or issue...Please! Get a new script! You say the exact same thing to everyone’s problems. Once in a while when you suggest someone switch between protocols (tcp, etc.) I really really don’t feel confident that you know what it is you’re suggesting or why. No support person for an important system like a VPN should EVER say “it SEEMS to help some of our customers”...! I don’t want what SEEMS to work...I want to feel confident that you guys KNOW what the problems are and more importantly...what the actual fix is.
Not for me. Definitely not for me. My main phone is my main work horse. This app although states they help with data brokers problems they couldn't do anything other than tell me what i already knew. The VPN works good, but too good that it causes all my work apps, side hustle apps and even my own phone to slow down to the speed of a “tird in the wind”. I find myself having to pause it 10-20 times a day to be able to resume my work without crashing my whole empire. If you rarely use your phone for work stuff? Its ok for that but if your main phone is your workhorse? Don't bother. All u paying is $20 for a massive speed bump that will derail your whole company into a dead stop. You might as well just give that money to your kids and tell em to slap the phone off your hands every 10 minutes. I think this software could be great on a pc setup but i cannot recommend for iphone. I have mine setup to operate my whole business on quick response and easy handling to respond and solve any problem that needs to be assessed on time and keep my relationships with my clients on point. I found out i wasn't receiving some of my orders come through. I paused vpn n like magic they came in. So again not for me.
Spotty and Frustrating Performance. I first subscribed to NordVPN while using iOS14, and it worked beautifully, with barely any loss of speed on a fiber optic 5G internet connection. That performance became significantly degraded with the introduction of iOS15, and has not improved since the advent of that operating system. For me, the service has become slow, inconsistent and thoroughly frustrating, and I find the need to “test” various protocols once or twice a day just to keep using it. Sometimes, I become so frustrated that I simply disable it and forego the protection it offers. I live in Asia, and try to maintain a network connection in the US to access several subscribed streaming services but the connection while using Nord often becomes so slow as to be useless. Today, for example, I clocked a 335Mbps download speed without Nord, and less than 10% of that while connected through Nord. Changing locations in the US and changing protocols proved of no help. I have no idea if Nord works as advertised with Windows or other operating systems, but with iOS15 in all versions, and on an iPad, it’s an utter disappointment and I can no longer recommend it.

Excellent app. I’ve bought 3 year subscription from NORDVPN and so far I’m almost due for renewal and I will definitely be renewing my subscription. It is an excellent app, connection is near perfection. I’ve had one problem previously due to unable to login (apparently it was a problem with many users at the time) and they fixed the problem within 30 mins. Thank you NORDVPN for an excellent product and no to everyone, this is not some paid for review, it is a genuine review:)
Acceptable but needs improving.. I just signed up to NordVPN and am finding my experience fairly good overall. My laptop has not disconnected a lot and actually maintains solid connections. However, my iPhone 8 can not sustain a connection with a VPN server for more than 15 minutes straight. And that is very, very annoying. I just recently got the OpenVPN app suggested on your website and so far, my phone hasn’t lost its connection. My only issue is if you can resolve this connectivity problem with the NordVPN app; make it much more stabilized. I have checked my WiFi connectivity and it has come back with quite good connectivity. I have done methods suggested on your website and all seemed to fail (except the OpenVPN alternative). If you can fix the issue to ensure solid and sustained connections, the app is a guaranteed 5 star. Ironically, NordVPN is my preferred app compared to OpenVPN but I have to use OpenVPN given my current dilemma. Please look into this more. I also wish the App could provide some form of warning saying something like “ You have disconnected” so I can more aware that I’m not a VPN server. My iPhone doesn’t pop any notification and I only realise when I curiously peer to the top left of my phone, I find it not connected.
I was robbed by this company. They tricked me into thinking I had cancelled my auto-renewal subscription. Only to find out I wasn’t when they charge straight from my account more then $200. BE CAREFUL when using their website. Once you disable auto renewal, they will display a “quick and easy” option to enable it again. Literally on every single page on their website. I didn’t realised then, but I must have unintentionally clicked on that TRAP. They deny all my attempts to get a refund. They really don’t care about my situation. It’s their money now … better luck to me next time, I guess…
Absolute essential as part of your travel plan.. NordVPN is a travel tool that you can’t go without. It is fast and have plenty of servers as your connection option. In particularly if you are roaming around Europe and exploring the various interesting places. You can’t leave home without it. Yet, like other VPN services provider, there will always be challenges use VPN when you are in one of those naturally restrictive counties. However NordVPN will give you a good chance to get through.
Wish it would stay connected. I've just started using the service and I like it very much. Except for one thing. The service seems to disconnect (with and without the kill switch) from its servers until I start using an app that requires internet connectivity. Such as, if I'm already connected to the VPN, then I browse online for a bit, then I lock my phone (and leave it for a few minutes) when I come back the VPN has already disconnected and I have to try to start using the internet again for it to reconnect. This is starting to become frustrating. Instead of loosing connection it would be nice if it stays connected all the time. And if it did get disconnected for some reason, then it should auto reconnect. Sometimes (this is mainly when the kill switch is disabled) if the above situation (what I described in the above paragraph) happens, once I've lost connection to the VPN, it won't reconnect at all. Unless I go in the app and pick a server again. I would like to some improvements to the service such as some options in the settings that have an auto connect and auto reconnect if connection is lost.
Decent but not the best yet. This is a VPN with acceptable service. BUT, if you are living in China, I do recommend try something else like ExpressVPN(since it was created primarily for users in China). Because NordVPN is mainly designed for Cybersecurity and its functions can be limited by Chinese internet’s restrictions. For example, you can only connect to servers in the U.S. and the connections can break occasionally. However there are not so much else to complain, the customer service is really friendly and helpful, always replies on time.
Disappointed. You’d expect this app to run quietly in the background and provide appropriate protection I.e. without you needing to regularly check if VPN is still on, and/or it hasn’t logged you out inadvertently etc. Quite the opposite, you need to regularly open up the app to see if your still connected and/or still logged in, with no pre-warning e.g. push notification or similar that you may be using apps or browsing unprotected. I expect it wouldn’t be that hard to have a function where as soon as VPN drops out, or you’re inadvertently logged out, you’re notified immediately so you can address issue.
Good stable and fast connection but poor UI. Great app but what’s the use if a user can’t see meaningful info quickly and at the right places in the mobile app. The UI is very confusing: - main screen shows “manage” button on connection instead of “disconnect”. If I need to disconnect then I click manage and then go inside and disconnect it. - no way to see which place you connected from main screen. Just shows my country but not the city - for auto connect options , it asks for trusted wifi connection , but that disc one takes the VPN when on that wifi network. Why can’t I trust a wifi and also want to be connected on that wifi ?
Not for China. Nord is regarded as a bit of a joke by expats in China. Whilst the app might work fine outside of China it does not work here and you have to set up a manual VPN. PS, side note, the Windows app doesn’t work at all and the manual work around involves lots of frustration trying to connect every time and drops off straight away. So if you’re thinking of getting the iphone app and subscribing so you can connect multiple devices including a PC, think again. Update, since the latest update, having the Nord app on my PC kills any connectivity. AVOID EDIT June 2020 They rolled out a new version to much fanfare on their part... still doesn’t work in China. Help desk’s ‘solution’ = go back to old version and check back in a few weeks/months and see if the new version works 😂
People trying to log into my accounts. I thought this app was great. Yay, I can watch American Netflix now! However, that excitement was short lived by less then a day. Since buying and installing this app (not cheap at all since it isn’t secure) I’ve had people try to access my banking, my MyGov, Instagram, Facebook and everything else. None of this happened since I bought this app. Completely disappointed and angry, for the price you’re asking I would think it would be secure. Much different to the other reviews which makes me then wonder if those are fake. I’ll be trying my hardest to get a refund. Don’t bother with this app unless you want constant confirmation codes sent to your phone. That is, if you have those in place. Otherwise, you’re in a bit of strife. Goodluck
Absolutely Fantastic. NordVPN is hands-down the best VPN service I have ever used. It is fast, reliable and just great in every single way. It let’s me access content from other countries and allows me to browse safely with no traces left behind. I strongly recommend this service. Also, I was reading a few of the reviews here and I wanted to say this: Don’t expect any VPN service to protect you if you give your personal data to any websites while using a VPN. A VPN encrypts your connection and hides your IP address but it doesn’t prevent websites from gathering data on you if you intentionally GIVE them your data (email address, phone number, home address, etc.) Remember to not give any personal data to websites you don’t trust.
rubbish. i was very excited to download this vpn assuming it would be fast, trustworthy and actually working, but this app met NONE of my expectations, not even the bare minimum. i did some deep research on this vpn if it would work in my region, and it said it did from the official website. i payed real money for this app just for fake results. as soon as i finished my payment, i clicked on a location and almost immediately it disconnects my wifi. i was very confused so then i refresh the entire app and try again, same thing. the vpn wont load on and it’s frustrating. i cant do anything with it, its just like buying a chair with no legs. i really thought this is was a good vpn, but clearly its not, from the fact that it didnt even work for me. disappointing. never trusting another vpn that cons your money.
A yearly review. The app is good for iPhone but not great. Sometimes web pages load slowly or don’t load at all. A work around is to reset the protocol or pause the browser for a short time which defeats the purpose of having a VPN. Recently (possibly to do with IOS 18) the von certificate on the iOS is completely blocking DLL internet traffic rendering my phone unable to connect at all. The only way to fix this is to delete the app, reset the internet protocol on iOS, then reinstall the app. Overall, the app is ok but could be better.
Charged me more than they advertised. UPDATE: Been using this for a couple of months now. Really impressed. Works a lot better than other VPN’s I’ve used in the past. ORIGINAL REVIEW: The VPN seems to work fine. However, I’m in Australia and it said 1 year for $60 + GST so $65 in total. When I clicked purchase they charged me $92 + $10 GST. Appears, they quoted me original price in USD which makes no sense as I’m sure they are aware where I am seeing as I clicked on the subscription via apple Apps.
NordVPN is a game-changer for VPNs everywhere.. NordVPN is an absolute smash hit of an application: it’s got multiple neat features encouraging users to connect to whichever servers they want and there are no geographical limits to where you can go. Granted it DOES have issues (sometimes you need to restart the app or device, and sometimes the servers just crash unannounced), but these are negligible things because it does everything else so well. Just be careful which servers you choose, because you’ll overload your device’s connections. With that said, NordVPN swears by its terms of absolute privacy and non-disclosure of user data to authorities (and hopefully stays that way), and the servers more often than not work like an absolute charm. This is the key to the internet’s future. P.S. There’s been issues with my iPhone version of the app where it keeps logging me out at complete random, and all the troubleshooting I’ve tried looking for online doesn’t seem to give me a clear-cut solution to how I can fix this persistent log-out issue. Can you please fix this guys? It’s a real headache having to re log-in for the umpteenth time for an app that’s supposed to save you the trouble of connection issues period. I still love NordVPN; so I’m hoping this update to the review gives light on some of the issues other users have surely experienced as well as I. I don’t know if this problem if affecting computer users to the same degree; I may be wrong about that. Hope this helps.
Beware: Utility fine, CS poor, and billing a scam. I was content with the speed, ease of use and general utility of NordVPN however - and this is a HUGE but - the customer service is poor and their billing is at the very least incompetent, if not dishonest. I have been billed more than once for subscription extensions when my account had not been about to expire. On one occasion I received spam from Nord for weeks saying I needed to extend my account subscription. I did so for two years. A month or so later my subscription was auto renewed and the time was not added to my account. I (miraculously) had this amount refunded. A few months later, this happened again! Outside of the billing cycle! The subscription time was not added on, they wouldn’t refund the amount but eventually after extensive CS emails they granted the subscription time I had paid for. I just went to my account yesterday to check when it expired so I could change to another provider and saw I had been billed yet again for yet another year even though I still had a year to run. And once again they did not credit it to my subscription. I don’t know if this over billing is intentional or if their systems are just poor but I would strongly recommend against giving Nord a card number or authorisation to automatically bill you. I won’t be continuing with the service myself, it has left a very bad taste in my mouth.
Best VPN that every user must have. I am a long term user of NordVpn. NordVPN for mobile offers a seamless and user-friendly experience, making it easy to secure your online activities on the go. The app's intuitive interface allows for quick connections to a vast network of servers worldwide, ensuring fast and reliable performance. With robust security features, including military-grade encryption and a kill switch, users can browse confidently without compromising their privacy. Additionally, the app provides excellent customer support and a range of features like ad blocking and malware protection. Overall, NordVPN is a top choice for anyone looking to enhance their mobile security while enjoying unrestricted access to content. In an era when our privacy is compromised, I would strongly recommend the use of NordVpn.
Absolute worst experience.. Having used Nord for some time now, it has become unusable and a waste of time and money. Tech service are responsive, but no matter what is tried, the service remains sporadic; often times it will take five to ten minutes to connect or not connect at all on any of my five ios and mac devices. When it does connect it is guaranteed to lose connection within a short time and need to be paused and resumed. We will be seeking a refund if things don’t improve in Australia. “It’s not us, it’s them” attitude is not a solution, nor should a customer have to go through a laborious and repeating troubleshooting regimen. If it is an issue with an operating system or service provider, then Nord needs to fix the interfacing, not the platforms or consumer. Do a better job.
Frustrated. I signed up for Nord VPN and since I have had everything is been hard to use and slow. I have taken it off my phone because it was so painful to use, it would block everything and I couldn’t do basic things. I signed up for the whole package and I can’t figure out how to use most of the products so it was a waste of money getting the extras. And forget trying to get a refund they are very much no back luck and they send loads of stupid emails asking me use what I bought but no instructions on how to. I recommended it my mum who had it and I wish I hadn’t as she had identical problems. Despite been under 14 days and requests no refund was given. So overall pretty poor me I do not recommend.
Garbage VPN and service!. Absolutely garbage ! So I just wanted try this VPN out for gaming if it lowers any ping . Since I connected with VPN my internet got so slow and Ping went up 2x amount. I was like okay and tried to turn off auto subscription on website. I literally searched for cancel button for 1 hour , I couldn’t find it. I was alright with the money I spent for first months and thought it wouldn’t charge again or at least it would remind to about upcoming payments . No I received 0 emails about that I’m being charged for 3 months . It’s like a scum. I just found out that My credit card was charged by VPN and it’s been charging me for 3 months. I tried to talk someone for refund via help chat and the guy told me that he can’t refund the payment that happened literally 5 mins ago and it’s still pending. It’s just so stupid! Absolutely garbage!
Unreliable Nord VPN. I have been using Nord for sometime now. The only consistent aspect of Nord, is that it’s an unreliable VPN service! I have been trialling Proton VPN on my partners’ device for sometime monitoring the performance of both VPN services. Nord needs to be constantly checked to see if it is connected. Often it is not connected. On and off I have found that Nord will not connect leaving my device open and vulnerable. Both Proton and Nord are paid services. Nord should be providing a more reliable service than it currently offers. Nord is not a community service. It’s a paid service and needs to get its act together. Stop taking your paying clients for granted, because they will simply take their money else where to another, more reliable VPN provider.
Absolute rip off. Firstly I looked at what options I could subscribe to from this app and 1 month was available. I thought this was the safest way to try the app without locking in a lengthy subscription. After downloading and trying to subscribe the only pop up option was 1 year. After lots of searching on the web I found that the only way to get 1 month was to log onto the portal not through the app I just downloaded. CRAZY! Even once on their website trying to buy one month was only offered as a “SUBSCRIPTION”. Then trying to unsubscribe as there is no option for 1 month only, took a long time and I’m reasonably IT savvy. Anyone that is a novice has no chance. I downloaded Nord as there seems to a belief that it is the best VPN to watch Foxtel outside Australia. It did not work!! I tried Surfshark VPN first and it also failed, but as far as using and buying 1 month from them it was a far better experience. I don't recommend them!
DO NOT use in RESTRICTED COUNTRIES e.g., China. I bought this service as it said it would work in China and relied on this service for my 2 month trip. It did not work AT ALL. I tried following the app’s instructions but it kept telling me to retry connecting. As this vpn did not work I couldn’t access google to cancel my monthly subscription I signed up for. Hence one month into my trip, they charged me again. I emailed them asking for a refund but they had a “30day policy and assumed the customer knows their features enough to cancel or not.” Hence I was denied a refund. What about a customer like me who can’t even cancel because it’s RESTRICTED? I tried paying for other vpn services and cancel, but to no luck. They couldn’t even refund at least one month of my subscription. I had to go back to my own country to be able to cancel…otherwise they would’ve charged me again. I spent my holiday without access to any of my social media apps because of this. Very VERY frustrated.
Excellent VPN with user friendly features. The VPN is easy to run and it is user friendly with great features that you don’t get with other apps. The Dedicated IP address is also a good feature with can be purchased for an additional fee. Overall can’t see myself not having the service. New improved version has advanced threat protection which gives added privacy and security. Highly recommended!
Edit: “NOT” Scammy. I used a link on YouTubers channel to get a discount. The price was $80 then when I paid they took $138 out of my account. No worries, I went on to download the app and it wants me to pay again another $140 lol I can’t get it to activate with my first payment. I’ve sent emails to custom support, but they don’t exist. They take and never give. 0/10. I’d like my hard earnt money back thanks. Edit: I made a mistake and misspelled my email address when signing up. The problem has been fixed after days of back and forth through email. My apologies NordVPN. Here’s your flowers.
Ripped off 3 year hidden AUTO Payment. I wrote to them saying I did not want to continue with there app due to connectivity issue and being logged out every few days and they still took a three year auto payment I wrote to them and asked to cancel. They only said contact Apple. Make sure you switch off there hidden auto payment even if you only half way along in your contract. Ripped off fist time and the second by there hidden auto payment. This app is not worth it and I strongly suggest to trial other apps before making a purchase and if you get this app disable there hidden auto payment. They don’t seam to care about the end user or ongoing faults with the app..... 👎
One of the better VPN services available. Update on my original review. First original review shown below this one. >>> Update>>> one of the best VPNs out there now. On my iPhone first. Now after using it for a while... Have installed on my Mac too. ;) ------------------------- After a few glitchy first version, this iteration is quite stable and provides access to some of the better VPN servers with encryption and IP masking. I did start my account up online when I set up and was originally using their servers through different VPN applications with my Nord access profile. So my account was already to go and not initiated through the ap, so when installing the iOS version I didn't have the login issues others mention in their comments. A little more tweeting here and there perhaps but overall it's now my preferred thin client for use with my phone and iPad. I have also used the Mac NordVPN version for a while now. The Mac version when it became available didn't seem to suffer the teething problems the iOS version saw with early releases. Happy with both now the iOS version has been rebirthed. Don't spot the occasional tweeting guys, but all up nice job,, finally ;-) Cheers guys.
Why does this App cause my iPhone to stop working???. The device I use most frequently is my iPhone but whenever I install it on my phone the phone stops connecting to the internet. The people at Apple knew instantly it was the VPN and got the phone working as soon as the VPN was uninstalled. I tried to reinstall and same problem. I have asked NordVPN to help but nothing! I asked a friend who also has an iPhone and NordVPN and he told me he had to uninstall the App from his iPhone. Why not warn purchasers or fix the problem? Also my iPad is now constantly throwing up the warning that the App is incompatible with my device. The error message repeats constantly often preventing me from opening my browser.
Patchy at best. Been using Nord for awhile. Has never been perfect but become worse the last few months. On iPhone, MBP and MBA logs out for no reason every 2 days or so even when supposed to stay signed in, won’t auto connect or shows it’s connected but takes ages to work - sometimes for over a minute. Often it stays frozen and have to quit the app (which doesn’t always work) or disconnect the internet. Going into settings on iPhone and turning off the the VPN is overridden multiple times before it works. Tech support state they know the issue and are working on it. Recent update didn’t fix it. Tech support now email only so takes days to get an answer. If issues keep happening won’t be using Nord again.
Beware. Nord purports to be a great VPN provider which it is but isn’t a good company. I bought year subscription last year for one year. They automatically too money from my account without authorisation or notification for the next year. I contacted customer support within minutes of being billed for the subsequent year requesting a termination of service and a refund. I haven’t had reason to use the VPN and with COVID hardship have had to cut back on extra costs. Customer service on live chat told me too bad you paid, now the money is ours. First time I’ve had that experience with a seemingly reputable app. They seem to want to pocket your money and don’t care about ethical trading practices. Choose another provider.
Most painful purchase i have ever made. Sorting reviews by “most recent” tells a WHOLE story in itself on nordvpn. Nordvpn. Get nordvpn. Youtubers telling you it’s the best thing ever. You need it. Safety. Security. Is this an actual joke???? The amount of functionality that has been broken across almost every app on my phone is MENTAL! and the worst part is i always forget i have a vpn so it’s the last thing i attempt to fix. I turn my phone off. Close all apps. Update them. Still broken. Oh but wait let me try and disable the VPN for an hour, and BAM! it works! “oh but josh you idiot you probably are having issues with those apps as they may be apps local to your country” here’s the worst part… apparently the VPN i’m using is 50km away from WHERE MY HOUSE IS 😂 imagine the issues if i actually did choose to use a VPN server further away. I have to disable the app at least 3 times a day just to do basic functions on other apps. How is no one else reporting on this?!?! I’m running an iphone 15 pro, and always ensure i’m running latest software (not beta) so what in the world is the point in using this app that breaks everything else on your phone????
Great! But a number of issues. I really like this VPN app. It’s easy to use and love the widget, it gives me an easy visual reminder to make sure I’m connected. A number of issues I have though: 1. Very frequently it doesn’t connect to a server (at least multiple times a day) and just attempts to connect indefinitely. If you try to connect via the widget and it hangs, it will hang indefinitely and the only way to stop it is to close the app manually and reopen and cancel the connection attempt. A few ways to solve this: - have a time out and try to connect to a different server after the timeout. - have a cancel button on the connection screen so you can manually try to stop the connection. Also when it hangs, it’s impossible to “downrate” the server connection as bad. Only servers you successfully connect to can be rated as bad. So should either allow users to notify when connections hang (or you should be tracking this yourself). Fix the hangs and it could get 5.
Not too good to be true!. You hear all the sponsorships and think it’s only made to sound important because they’re trying to sell it to you, but this is really helpful and will speed up your connection as well as keep you safe and secure. I use Nord on my laptop and on my phone because it speeds up my connection and I know that nobody knows my real location. The only issue I have is sometimes you’ll be asked to verify you’re not a robot because of the amount of traffic, and some sites don’t work with a VPN (non that matter). Other than that, I have not encountered an issue and the amount of devices with the amount of time for the price is actually great value, so would recommend 100%
Doesn’t work. I’m currently in China for a vacation and before going I knew I needed a vpn to access blocked sites. I searched and was told that NordVPN is the best to use in China so I installed it and paid 1 month subscription. I was able to connect for a few days in China but then it started to unable to connect. I deleted the app, reinstalled and signed in again and it worked. So every time it was unable to connect I did what I did earlier but after a few times it didn’t work anymore. I’ve tried everything and the vpn just won’t connect! It doesn’t matter whether I was using my data or connected to wifi it just won’t connect. Not only that when it was connected it really slowed my connection down. So now I have a vpn that wont work. It was a waste of money.
Keeps disconnecting - no solution. Nord VPN keeps disconnecting both on iOS and Windows. It’s very annoying to be a paying customer and needing to constantly refresh the connection. Despite all the attempts with following troubleshooting instructions from Nord VPN’s customer service and website, there’s no solution in sight. I was a loyal customer since 2018 but have now decided to move on to a more reliable VPN service, due to the deteriorating quality of Nord VPN’s product.
Disappointing Performance and Reliability Issues. NordVPN, once known for its reliability, seems to have fallen short of expectations recently. I've experienced frequent logouts on both my Windows computer and iOS devices, which is frustrating and disrupts my workflow. Connecting on Windows takes an unusually long time, adding to the inconvenience. Despite having excellent home internet, I consistently encounter slow connection speeds on most servers, which undermines the purpose of using a VPN. While NordVPN used to be a trustworthy choice, these recurring issues have tarnished its reputation. It's disappointing to see a decline in performance from what was once a reliable service provider.
OMG!!!!. Not a word of a lie I’ve been wanting to get a VPN for years, never thought I needed one though and didn’t want to pay. But being blocked and restricted on so many sites for no reason and having security issues non stop I was like ok. Then I see the subscription cost!!!!! $129 clams OMG no chance I was like stuff it then I seen the 7 day free trial. I downloaded from App Store set it up picked a country jumped on the net and every single problem I’d been having stopped instantly! And the $129 dollar subscription fee now is fully understood! For such amazing brilliance, to solve issues with internet that fast I’d pay double that Sub fee! I am sitting here smiling cause I’m literally excited and it has opened up a whole new world. People do not understand what they are missing being restricted in countries due to unnecessary policies and licensing jargon! Thank you for this app you now have a customer for life.
It works but only for some websites. (edit) working for sport subscription again… sometimes sites like Kayo and Optus recognise the VPN and block access. Must recognise individual servers? Switching servers a few times seems to help. So I’m modifying my comment and bumping up a star… let’s just say it can be frustrating. (One thing Nord can’t fix and isn’t responsible for is the deathly slow Internet speed in Australia… ) Unfortunately the reason most overseas travellers get a vpn is in order to keep watching their subscription services, which just happen to block Nord VPN on many occasions… particularly sport subscriptions. Otherwise… it works well
Disconnects like no tomorrow. Been using it during my trip while accessing public wifi. Has been an absolute nightmare with its frequent disconnects every few minutes. It may stay connected, for hours even to its credit. Sometimes, however, it would prevent me from accessing wifi altogether when public wifi requires you to be in the region. That’s fine, just allow me to stop the VPN with a simple click please? Or a pause that actually pauses and doesn’t infinitely try to kick in again? The current state means a lengthy process of going to settings to stop it from turning on when accessing wifi, and then turning it back on again after when there’s a more static wifi. That’s a lot of effort when you’re travelling and accessing multiple different wifis through the day.
Too expensive. I’m only a minor so I do not have the money to pay for this yet I would love a VPN for protection and to watch shows on Netflix available in different countries. I understand that they need the money but lowering the prices will bring them so many more people purchasing their subscriptions that having a lower price could be beneficial to them. This is very expensive but I expect that it would be great quality for its price, but maybe bring it down to about $20 every few months and that will surely bring in more buyers (it will trick their minds into thinking it is A LOT cheaper than it actually is but it also gives people the opportunity to be able to pay the full amount that they need) this is just some friendly advice. I hope you listen to this
A must have app for all internet users. Nord provides a trust worthy environment for all to enjoy safer browsing. The app is easy to use and the Nord team provides recommendations and helpful examples for correct use to protect privacy and secure access to sites. You can work over the internet sharing details to the people you want and not to those who seek to find out more details than you would like them to know. Highly recommended as a VPN service provider.
Why Are People Getting My Personal Phone Number?. I thought that this app was really fabulous and I stay connected though it to different countries every week and I thought that nobody could get at me as long as I used your VPN to keep my information safe. BUT, as of yesterday when I was connected to the UK, someone sent me a text from there to my private mobile phone number. It said I’d won 4,000,000 pounds supposedly from Coca-Cola and although sent from the UK it rerouted through an Australian number (Where I live). I changed the VPN location right away to Romania. Then today, I get 3 calls from Romania (Which thankfully I missed), again rerouting through Australia and supposedly coming from here, but when Googled it came up as Money Gram Romania and apparently other people have also been spammed from there. I don’t use my iPhone on the internet so the only place my personal phone number could have come from was on my iPad, which has been using your VPN for months now. I change the location often around the world. The only place my number is on my iPad is in the Settings under the Apple Store. My personal email address that I use only for business is now being flooded with spam and again that was in my Settings. Your VPN is supposed to keep my information safe, right? It’s not. I’ve now had to get internet on my iPhone and hope that can block my Settings through the VPN, but I think it’s way too late and my information has been sold.
Patchy at best - auto connect doesn’t!. The VPN service itself seems fine. But on iOS on my iPhone XR, it just NEVER works. It goes through phases. Auto connect should mean that whenever it’s not connected, it connects, right? But it rarely ever does! Occasionally it will go through a phase where it connects, then it will get in a loop where it keeps trying and failing (breaking the internet, forcing me to turn off autocorrect and back on again) but then it will go through phases (weeks) where it just never connects! Every time I check, it’s unprotected and I have to manually connect, which it has no problem doing. It’s driving me bonkers, and I’ve paid for 3 years up front (DO NOT DO THIS, THE SO CALLED SAVINGS ARE NOT WORTH IT IF SOMETHING GOES WRONG) and when I complained, they’re like oh your cooling off period is finished, too bad. So I’m stuck with this garbage whether I use it or not. I’ve tried all of the support suggestions, nothing works. So basically I have a manual VPN rather than an auto connecting one. So I have to remember to turn it on, or I’m at risk. Pointless!
Not worth the trouble. Purchased 3 year subscription- initially everything was fine but after sometime I was not able to watch anything in Hotstar India, tried contacting the customer service, they were very helpful in assisting me to try various options but none of them resulted in the solution. In the end they sort of gave up and stated “we are having issues with hotstar and we are trying to solve this problem but there is no ETA”.
Absolute rubbish!. Not much to say here. Really disappointed with the VPN which wasn’t good enough to provide smooth streaming experience. Tried competitors VPN and it had no issue with same streaming service. The speeds are average, the user support is.. how do I say it.. bad! I’ve been trying to get a refund, but as a first step - troubleshooting. I thought I’ll give it a go. 2 hours later and 4 different supports reps later I’ve been told I won’t be able to get a refund cause I’m a day or two over the 30day money back guarantee… Had one of the first three reps told me that, I would’ve given up 10mins into the troubleshooting as it covers basic steps that I’ve done myself as my own troubleshooting. I would stay clear from NordVPN, save yourself some time, nerves and money - look elsewhere! 👻
NordLynx has blown my mind!!!. I have been using this service for around two years now and the one thing I always wasn’t to happy with was speed, sure it was alright and to the average person probably perfectly fine but I wanted to get similar speeds to what I could not being connected to a VPN, NordLynx has only just come out as of writing this but in just a few minutes of testing speeds I was amazed at how well it’s performing. I’m glade to see them looking to innovate and improve performance if you haven’t already tried Nord VPN I think you should give it a look👀
Driving me nuts…. Unreliable at best… When it works, it seems fine, however with something like 50% of the sites I try to connect with on my iPad, I get a message telling me I’m not able to connect to the internet. This is something unique to this app (it didn’t occur with my previous vpn). Turning off the vpn, immediately corrects the problem. If this was protecting me from malicious sites, that’d be fine, however this issue occurs randomly, with sites I regularly visit, with new sites and with sites belong to mainstream providers. It occurs on my home wifi, on mobile data access, and on my work wifi. Fully updated iPad, fully updated software. I’d strongly suggest not paying for long-term access, until you’ve tried it for yourself on your own device.
Just doesn’t connect. I am currently in China, and I downloaded NordVPN and bought a subscription a few days prior of going there. I’ve done loads of research beforehand to know whether to use it or not - since I used to always use ExpressVPN. However, the price for this VPN seemed to be so much cheaper, so I decided to check it out. It worked perfectly while I was back in another country - until I got to China. At first it was working, but for some reason, my phone wasn’t connecting to any wifi’s or hotspots whatsoever, so the only way I could use it was if I was using my data, and since I was overseas, it was very expensive. I also had this downloaded on my laptop, which it connected ONCE. Afterwards it just wouldn’t connect. Now that I’m trying it a few days later, I’m using my data and I can’t even connect at all. It claims to be connected, yet it doesn’t show that I’m connected on the toolbar thing on top and I am unable to access any blocked apps. I’m using another VPN now on my phone, except that one was very very slow.
Average at best. This app has had the same constant problems for 3 years, the reviews are still the same, nord will STILL log you out randomly, STILL WONT connect to anything automatically or even when you manually select it (you have to close the app and re-open it a few times to get it going) and once you’re logged on and connected it will STILL struggle to find an IP address leaving you disconnected STILL. Buy this if you want to be frustrated at certain times of the day or if you enjoy watching one third of a video because it refuses to load the rest due to connection problems. At the minimum, stop the random disconnection issues, or logout problems.
Excellent service. Update to original review. The latest update to the iOS app now includes support for obfuscated servers and alternate VPN protocols. This app now meets all my needs. I would recommend to all as the best VPN service available. ******************************************* No Obfuscated Servers I have been a fan of Nord for quite some time, mostly using the service when I travel internationally. I have recently had requirements to travel to countries with content/VPN restrictions, and was unable to use Nord at all on my iOS devices as there is no option for obfuscated servers available. The work around provided by customer support failed as well. In the end, I was forced to use another provider for protection on my phone and iPad. It would be good if this feature could be introduced to the iOS app, as there are other providers that offer “stealth mode”, or similar, available on the App Store, but I would prefer to not be using multiple providers across multiple devices.

Seamless connectivity. Love the fact that I can securely connect in public locations.
USE ANOTHER VPN!!!. They charged me 2 weeks before renewal date and now unable to get my money back.
not recommended. Not working in China, don waste money
You guys are aweful. It is sooo complicated to create an account and link desired devices to that account
Automatic renewal. Since you download it,it'll renew automaticly,so comfortable.
Great. Good
Excellent App. Great app that provides reliable internet security by VPN. All you have to do is, choose your server and your connected. Keep up the great work!
Slow & Unsafe. A few years ago Nord was unmatched in speed and service. In the past 12-20 months both aspects have gone downhill. The throttling of internet speed is so bad that I can’t use some apps with it because it cripples internet speeds so badly. The app constantly logs me out or disconnects despite having auto-connect enabled, leaving me completely unprotected and unaware. I’m a nerd and tried switching settings and it doesn’t make a difference to switch between, NordLynx, UDP, etc. They’re all rubbish. Not to mention that a few years ago you never had to even think about that stuff, it used to be a fast and reliable set-it-and-forget-it service. Now it’s slow, unreliable (thus unsafe). I’m definitely looking forward to trying a better provider when my term is up. P.S: No need for a developer response, I’ve already lost faith in the brand and product, and have no interest in anymore useless troubleshooting tips.
Best VPN app for iPhone. Really please with it. Open it and forget it!
Ads. Why am I getting ads and pop ups for something I’ve paid for, absolutely ridiculous
Complete garbage. Works as long as I don’t open a browser (as long as I’m not using the internet). I thought the whole reason to get a VPN was so I could surf anonymously, well if that’s the case Nord is a complete waste of money
Doesnt work in china. When i looked it up online, it said it was supposed to work for china, but after paying 19$ it doesnt even work in china so i really don’t recommend it. Not worth the money, i want a refund!
Keeps disconnecting. Unstable connection and it constantly disappears from settings
Support. I have tried numerous times to get a response to what they say the fee is and the amount that they charged which is considerably higher and have heard absolutely nothing from them. I would not recommend this solution
Perfect. Works perfectly.
waste of money. does not work in china. did not even connect me to a server once and everytime i tried to connect, it was just disconnecting me from my wifi.
Never update. If it works before an update never ever update. Because it never works proper again until a few updates after
Where is my money???. I used this for a day and it said that I could get a full refund if I cancelled but when I cancelled a day later I still have no money and it won’t let me cancel until next year, so I just paid 80 bucks for something I will never use.
Ça ne marche pas. Je me suis procuré VPN north pour avoir accès à la télé canadienne au Mexique et ça ne fonctionne pas. Je suis très déçu.
Not working. The vpn unable to connect from egypt, so what the point 🤨
Unreliable. It misses server from a lot of countries. Even ones it provide don’t work most of the time. Navigating through app is a headache. Switching between servers takes too long. You could find much cheaper vpn than this one. Also, they will set you on auto renew even if you buy it for a month. Try iTop VPN.
JUNK, COMPLETE SCAM. They claim they can resolve these issues? They’ve been trying for years, just read numerous reviews. The only positive ones their probably writing themselves. Completely useless, impairs the entire operation of multiple devices across multiple platforms. Most basic functions like receiving emails are blocked with VPN active. Customer service, like the app useless. Also it leaks, you’re unprotected. Customer service has given me the run-around for years. Then, I had this app independently assessed, it shouldn’t even get one star.
Very bad connection. In China it’s impossible to get connection by using nord vpn. Hardly getting connection from any servers. Don’t use it. Waste my money and can’t get it back.
Great app but…. It’s awesome until you see the disgusting prices on the subscriptions it’s 135$ CAD a year which is a lot just for a VPN. You guys really should make a free VPN mode, for the people who don’t have that money but need a decent connection.
Try to cancel. Try to
Sometimes CRASHES. Good app but it sometimes crashes or breaks the link with the VPN.. It is hard to see this on main screen, you either have to check the App or the Widget.. HOW can there be a feature to see if the VPN link is active ?? Not just a transitory icon on top of screen when link is being made… I have tried using NordLynx (and AutoReconnect) and other types in settings, NordLynx breaks the link less but still does. Auto Reconnect will only reconnect when you go back to the app. All that time you are exposed until you realize the connection is broken. I can see the app rushing to reconnect when I go back to it. Why is this so hard to fix !?! Stable VPN is basic function.
Scam. Downloaded this app when I went to China. Did not work once.
Definitely Not Free.. The cost is $134.99 per year, no free trial. Why in the world when I searched for free VPNs did this come up??
Junk mail. i have been receiving a high number of junk mail recently 40 by day is there something you can do ???
Terrible. Overall your product failed to meet your customer experience and expectations. The issue took too long to resolve, agents are not very knowledgeable in requesting information at first time for all the required details to resolve on time. Every time your communication were done via chat responses, were handled by different agents, felt more like there was no human connection in the responses, all BOT canned responses. The product connectivity failed, constantly losing connection. No tech support available for immediate to resolve. Total waste of time and money. I would not recommend to anyone, try to avoid buying and save yourself your money and time.
Very difficult to cancel. As of this writing I still have not been able to understand how to cancel the trial subscription. Instead of being directed to multiple pages of text and explanations, it should be a simple one button and done process. Be wary everyone.
Not work on iPhone. After last update vpn doesn’t work on iPhone. Fix that please
Buyer Beware. All over the Internet, Nord claims to offer a VPN network to access foreign programming with platforms, such as HBO Max and Netflix. HBO max will not allow you to subscribe without an American credit card and address so unless you have one of those.. the VPN will not work for you, although technically not at the fault of the VPN.. its not as easy as the internet claims to be and I lost nearly $100 trying to stream a single show. Lesson learned the hard way.
Poor customer service and app. I purchased a 1 year subscription for this app. After approximately 1 month and accruing 407 hours 50 minutes vpn connection time, The app says I do not have an account. After multiple emails back and forth providing all requested documentation including proof of purchase, Nord VPN will still not allow me to be connected. Requested refund from Apple.
I want it to be actually free. Not because I can’t afford it, or not because I’m some younger teen, it’s because it kinda unlikely for a person to instantly like it because theirs a discount for 2 of those 6-12 Months and not 1 Month free, even though this REVEIW I’m saying about it is Dumb, Un ethical, Elogical, And Stupid by most who reads it, doesn’t mean it can count as a REVEIW and only be called a Rant
Bad marketing tactics. Forces you to create account with out an option to check the subscription plan details.
Not worth it at all.. Connections drop all the time & slows the wifi speed down significantly - even with the “best servers”. A complete waste in my opinion.
Where’d the widget go?. Looks like the iPhone widget option was removed with this update.
Hmm?. NordVPN is good, really good. I use it for my school wifi, and it works perfectly. Also, as Meshnet (a free feature), I often use it at home, but I would like a dedicated button to turn it off. I need to tap the three dots and then turn it off, which is two taps, too. I got it during the holiday/December, so I got a deal for 50 bucks for a year. And having a VPN helps me know I'm safe online. And don't forget to watch Netflix in different countries. The best thing is any VPN.
Be careful of the default subscription period. From within the app they default you down a 1 year subscription path to get started using the app. You can go other periods but it’s harder to do that unless you know to go to your iTunes subscriptions page and cancelling the default 1 year period first. Other than that it works fine and is easy to use.
Absolutely terrible. In the past it was great but after turning off auto renew and STILL GETTING CHARGED it seems every 5 minutes the app wants to assign a new IP address proceeds to have an aneurysm refuses to connect so I can’t do anything, the quickest time it took to reconnect was 10 minutes, I’m not paying to wait 10 minutes to surf the web, I do not recommend this app it’s become trash
Bro they really want us to pay almost 67$ on this app to get money. Bro this app is so bad that you need pay like really they called number one app for VPN well that's cap u money u pay it bad app it just want make spend money on app which need to pay every mouth worthless
Predatory ‘Free Trial’. When I subscribe to free trials I immediately turn auto-renew off so I don’t later forget and get charged. This app is the first I’ve ever used that revoked the free trial when I turned off the subscription renewal, and also didn’t provide any options to restore purchases or refresh your subscription in the app itself. It also hides the terms of the subscription behind links, which I’m very certain is against App Store policies. I wouldn’t trust a VPN that has that little commitment to transparency.
Don’t buy it. Been using it for about 2 months and can’t connect to any server for 2 weeks. Send message to customer support but no response.
Nord on iphone. For some reason the VPN will not disconnect on my iphone since the latest update. Works great on PC.
Completely useless. My friend recommended NordVPN, so I bought 27 months without free trial and now it’s not working at all!! I tried to connect my VPN to US multiple cities to make it work but it did not work. I mainly want to use this VPN so 1) I can see news as Canadians can’t see news anymore on social media. 2) I want IG to promote my content further than just around my city. However, even I switched on VPN (it said connected) , turned off precise location on IG and Facebook, but IG and Facebook can still detect my exact location just like the VPN’s IPs are completely non existent. I just want my money back !!!!!! It’s completely trash to me and wasted my money as it’s no use at all and I just paid almost US100 for nothing. Ridiculous
Logs out at every update. Nord signs me out every time the app gets updated (updates are on auto). I’ve been caught off guard a few times already. Super disappointed that it’s taking so long to fix something as simple this. It cannot be that Nord expects us to turn off auto updates or to check the connection every X hours - that is not practical. For example, perhaps the app can email or notify users that they are logged out every time an update takes place and the app logs you out. It’s 2024 and that’s still not implemented. Due to their price hike, lack of transparency on their website* and customer service, I am now looking for another VPN provider. *They release offers without clear disclaimers on the currency until you get to the final page. They will then gaslight you when you point out how deceptive this practice is. Not only do they hide the price behind USD, they also do not include Offer T&C on offer pages. Expected more transparency from Nord.
Hate it.. No free trial whatsoever, came here from a site to watch movies for free and this app was all that popped up. I wouldn’t trust a vpn app that is supposed to prevent pop ups but comes up as a pop up.
None parity features amount various platforms.. macOS/iOS version of NordVPN does not have feature parity like split tunnelling when compared to androidOS. Other issues include the kill switch does not always work in macOS which defeats the purpose. Login credentials disappear form all platforms and this is random as after some updates it repopulated and after other updates or does not. It won’t inform you either that you have to re-login. When waking from sleep under macOS it will show that it’s connected but it’s not as webpages provide a “not connected” error, this means the kill switch might be working but the connection shows it’s active. Sometimes for some reason after a while even though it shows it’s connected the error will crop up again same thing happens in androidOS. I have asked for a refund after waiting patiently for features to be added that was promised and bugs to be resolved but it’s the same issue after 2+ years of being hopeful. I am waiting on NordVPN customer service to get back to me, if not I recommend to stay away from this company.
Adsterra is the most preferred ad network for those looking for an alternative to AdSense. Adsterra is the ideal choice for new sites with low daily traffic. In order to advertise on the site in Adsterra, like other ad networks, a certain traffic limit, domain age, etc. is required. There are no strict rules. Sign up!
Doesn’t stay logged in. I like the service, but the app itself needs an update with a bug fix. Since you can only connect 6 devices on the regular plan, I wouldn’t recommend it for a family. The price is not the best, but not the worst either. Although, after paying for the monthly subscription for a few months, they offered me a great deal ($49) on an annual subscription and I jumped at the chance. The app is nice and it’s easy to use. The only problem I have with it though is it frequently logs me out when I pause the connection. I typically use an overseas connection so I sometimes need to pause it when I have to do something that requires an American IP address. And the app often logs me out entirely instead of just pausing. So then I have to log in again and then use iPhone settings and my PIN to “allow VPN.” Even though it only takes a few extra seconds, it’s kind of annoying and certainly unnecessary if they would just fix whatever bug is causing it to happen. If they would just fix that one issue, I’d give it 5 stars.
My feelings about Nord VPN. Hi; this is my personal review of Nord VPN AVC’s, as the proprietor of a fairly busy PC custom build / reapair shop. I’ve been with Nord approximately 4-6mo now and am satisfied with the services thus far with a few discrepancies. They are (what I’ve found) not immediate threats or 0-days though they need some tuning. - Very important; I setup 2FA using my iPhone 15 Pro’s FR Passkey which worked out great but there was a catch - when my fiancée installed Nord on her 14 Pro, she had no access to my acct. due to the MFA which required her to use “The Passkey (Physical) or one of the Codes (I knew nothing about) I Had (didn’t)” the aforementioned to gain access to the account. What finally worked was to 86 the MFA altogether which has me Very uncomfortable as well as insecure. There’s Got to be a better way to share account usage with family which retains the MFA level of security, given the fact that I’m currently the victim of a 15 Month Cyber-Stalk I now have the FBI IC3, CISA, and a few other powerful sources or king with me on to try and catch or stop the redundant, usually daily attacks which is where Nord plays a role also. I must say that Since installing Nord Via ASUS it’s calmed down a lot.
Changed the product. It used to be that Nord was cheaper than ExpressVPN and could still select from a wide list of servers. After they billed me this past cycle, they changed the program so you can only select by city - no longer can you access all the servers in a particular city depending on scenario, now they give you one per city. So the number of available US servers went from 15-20 per city, for about 12 cities (over 100 total options…) to just the roughly twelve cities (12 options). Despite still having 10+ months left in my annual subscription, they refused to refund because I wasn’t a new customer - despite them changing the product in a way that makes Nord totally useless. Then they dared to lecture me on being respectful to them when they’ve defrauded their client base by reducing their product’s capability - and bumping the price by $40! Now they’re the same price as ExpressVPN - but Express is faster, easier to use, gives more options, can be installed direct on to routers, and doesn’t suffer the lag times and blockages that Nord’s limited servers do. Avoid Nord at all costs - go with ExpressVPN.
I would suggest no...don’t use it. I’ve got 2 years left on my paid subscription but it’s just too irritating to continue. I’ll take the loss. It used to work well. Then, a number of upgrades ago it went to hell. I keep upgrading hoping it will revert back to good. But it ain’t happening. Read the other comments. It’s not just me. One should not have to deal with customer service to have an app work. That means your app’s got issues. This one clearly has an issue with WiFi....and they know it. Go ahead and contact customer service...you’ll see. If you can’t connect shut off WiFi. Voila! Your on VPN. Now turn your WiFi back on. Voila! Your VPN disappears. Or maybe not. Sometimes this trick is what you have to do to reconnect. Who needs this BS? When you pick up your phone to access your email or the web or the App Store you don’t want to have to fiddle around for a few minutes to connect. The concept of a VPN is great. The execution of the service, at least in this case, just isn’t worth the hassle. When it works it’s great. When it doesn’t you’ll want to commit harikari. So ask yourself....do you feel lucky punk? Well....Do You????
Peace of Mind. I’m not a paranoid person, but I also don’t want to get burned for being naive. I did a lot of studying before choosing a VPN, and NordVPN has been giving me peace of mind, especially when I’m utilizing free WiFi at a cafe or hardware store. People ask me, “You have unlimited data! Why do you even connect to those routers?” Typically, it’s because I need to utilize some feature they’ve built into their system (to get you more connected with them in another way). There are certain sites or apps that this will slow down. Its not a glitch. It’s actually revealing as to what those apps really do when it comes to tracking your location or monitoring public use. Sometimes, it does slow down because of some communication issue somewhere in data path, but I either just keep going until it speeds up again, or I disconnect from my WiFi and reconnect. Then, it goes back to normal.
NICEEEEEEEEEE !!!. Only one thing keeping the app from a five star rating. After a certain amount of time it disconnects from the server. I often forget it’s not connected when I first open my device. That’s my only complaint. Of course I’m just a basic user who surfs the net. If I had an interest in using whatever options offered I may feel differently. One thing that is really great for me is I feel comfortable using this app whereas with other apps, not just vpn apps, I feel sorta uncomfortable in is this app gonna mess me up to the point of it’s more work than the convenience is worth. Now that I think about it, I had read all over the net that with a vpn I’d be able to watch my mlb team even though I’m in a blackout zone. Well I’ve not checked into what else it would require to get around the blackout zone. Will get around to that soon. I now have confidence that I can do financial transactions w/o much fear of losing what little I have in the bank etc.
Garbage App - Go Somewhere Else. I really thought this was a mature solution given all the years with this product name out there as a VPN solution. Ever since I installed this on several IOS devices ON DIFFERENT networks, my Internet sessions hang A LOT at random times. This app also consistently decides to kill my wireless connection at random times (all network symbols disappear) and I either have to attempt a network reconnect, manually shutdown NordVPN, or reboot my device). It a whack-a-mole app whenever surfing the network. If you want this kind of an experience, go for it. I do not recommend this app and will not be renewing when my subscription is up. This experience is beyond frustrating. Also, I tried changing PROTOCOLS as mentioned in other reviews but that doesn’t solve the root core problem and just adds to the frustrating experience. RESPONSE: The developer response is another indication that this app is complete trash. Given all the comments, they still do not know of any problems with this app? Do they not have staff or quality assurance teams encountering these random connection issues? THIS IS NOT A PROBLEM ON MY END! Disabling the app from multiple devices and networks restores my connectivity experience.
Needs improvements. Since about a week ago, give or take, my iPad no longer connects when I wake it from sleep. Used to be I could leave my iPad asleep for 2-3 days, and then wake it up, and the VPN was connected and working before I could try to open any app up. It was great. Now I have to constantly open the app, wait a few seconds for it to load up... hit ‘cancel’ because it’s just showing a spinning circle... and then hit quick connect. Pretty annoying. As for my phone, it’s pointless to even try to leave it turned on. Once you wake your phone, you can’t do anything that requires data for like 15-20 seconds. Pick up your phone, and then stare at it, and use your watch to wait 15-20 seconds. Longer than you think. Having to endure that dozens of times a day makes it completely pointless to even use. I also have the app downloaded on one of my streaming boxes for the TV, and it works great for that, thankfully. Would rate this 5-stars if it worked as flawlessly on my phone, or like it used to work on my iPad.
Loved it until I found out some major issues. One of Nord’s infrastructure providers, PacketHub, S.A., also headquartered in Panama, has a privacy and data collection policy that is almost completely opposite to Nord’s. I realize that auditing companies have found that Nord is in compliance with what it states to the public. However, we must remember that those are only a snapshot and have nothing to do with their downstream service providers like PacketHub. In case anyone is interested, it’s really easy to look up, pack a hub says that it will collect basically any and all information that flows through its equipment and store it for as wants to. That is hardly anything like a a no-log policy. And if they are the downstream infrastructure provider for Nord, that means all of our data is being store— not by Nord—but by PacketHub. There are some privacy websites that do bring this up as a point, but I’m surprised that mainstream journalism doesn’t cover this more because it is clearly a massive conflict. I stupidly paid for two years in advance, but I did purchase a separate VPN subscription because I just don’t trust them until they can explain why their service providers have NSA-style collection policies.
Not great for a day to day VPN.. I have been using this for maybe 6 months now on my Mac and iPhone. From day one I’ve had frustrations on both platforms and they haven’t been fixed or made better at all. iPhone problems 1) email app (I’ve tried 3 different apps) will stop working and deleting app, restarting phone won’t work. Only way to get email sometimes is to killVPN connection. 2) worst problem, when you turn your phone on from a black screen and you’re connected to WiFi you can’t use the internet until you turn the WiFi connection on your phone off/on a few times and help your phone “realize” you’re on WiFi not LTE. My computer has had similar issues with the app from the iTunes Store as well as the VPN site. Most of the time I have to turn off the VPN completely just to get the internet to work. 🤦🏻♂️At this point it’s only useful for specific times when I don’t mind messing with it. Hard to understand how such basic user issues have not been met or addressed for 6 months I’ve used it.
I’m a moron. Don’t be a moron like me. I left Nord for Surfshark. It was a HUGE mistake. There is no customer service. And when the unexpected happened no help was available. Resulting in the helping of the person who stole one of my phones to have more time to breach it. Couldn’t remote wipe due to VPN. And no way to manage multiple devices. And the best part, they went so out of their way to confuse and road block any way for me to contact anyone. I assume there was no one there. So DO NOT TRUST THEM TO PROTECT YOUR WORLD. Nord will be there. I could contact them and they would respond. Surfshark I had to write to them in a bug report as their chat system wouldn’t allow me to chat cause apparently I’m not me. Only I am if not trying to chat with them. Doing extra. I’d rather just not be responded to than treated like I’m stupid with a teenaged level move. GET NORD. ITS THE TRUTH. I’m sorry and hope Nord will forgive my ignorance and utter lack of clarity. I’m a moron.
Do not trust it. I thought it was strange that I had to commit to a three year contract without ever trying the product. After almost 18 months I can say I have experience sudden speed drops. Dropped vpn connectivity Basically problem after problem. I tried to use Miami as my vpn host but this quickly seemed to have been discovered by everyone. One of the other sites appear to be as fast. Their support is terrible they are very good at telling you you need to do this or that but done of them help and I have used other VPNs with no difficulty. Don’t believe their speed reports. Save your self a lot of grief. Use something else. After posting this review NordVPN contacted me and asked me to supply them with my ticket number. So they can research my claim. Which one? I have contacted them numerous times. They give you one thing to try then when you reply and tell them it didn’t work nothing. Their is no live assistance everything is over email. I am using their system on four different streaming devices. Two tablets. Two phones, and two computers. Obviously not at the same time - at most only three at a time. Terrible customer service
Why?. Why is NordVPN consistently making itself a nuisance when it comes to my connection. Am I supposed to babysit my VPN 24/7 to make sure it’s behaving appropriately while I’m “browsing care-free”? It worked fine when I first signed up now I find myself trying to get the thing to work more often than I’m actually browsing anything. This also comes off nearly a month where opening the app would just make it crash on the loadup screen 80% of the time. Edit: look I get it you’re trying the whole troubleshooting thing, fantastic, I applaud you. Those are all things I’ve googled and tried already. And it becomes inherently obvious since I manually update my apps when the problems begin. The updates need some quality control. It’d be one thing if my phone was obscenely old or something but it’s not. And things were running fine until the slew of bad updates. Even right this minute things are seemingly fine with it, but the issues have been rampant in the last few updates and I’m usually just counting the minutes til I see that I have no connection or one of my apps takes an eternity to load up and I have to go reset it, and get randomly signed out of NordVPN and have to go through all that again as I do on a sometimes weekly, sometimes daily basis.
Buyer beware - nord is a scam. Read the terms and conditions before purchasing a subscription. It says that their service is only guaranteed to work for 1 month. After that, if it stops working you won’t get your money back. My Nord stopped working after 2 months of use, and after going through troubleshooting with their service reps, they said “sorry, we can’t get it to work and we can’t refund you.” Even though i lost a lot of money and have to purchase a new VPN, the silver lining is that you can learn from my mistake. Don’t be a sucker like me and get scammed by Nord. Go for a VPN service that guarantees your purchase will work. EDIT: tell you what the issue is… again? We already talked about it ad nauseam. Hours atleast. Your conclusion was “sorry there’s nothing we can do to get it to work and we can’t issue you a refund.” You guys have a brilliant scam going. I must admit, the thought that after paying for a full year subscription it would only work for a month never even crossed my mind. And then to keep your customers money while not delivering the product is the cherry on top. You had a chance to make good on the sale and instead decided to stick with the scam and honestly, I gotta respect that. I respect the commitment to the scam.
Worst customer Support STAY AWAY !. They have put Bots to deal with customer issues, and the bots are useless. I was told the connection will be given after 3 days because payment is in pending status- my reply was - do you go to hotel and order food, get the order after three days because payment made with credit card was in pending status? They have No answer to this , because bots don’t eat :) and don’t know that Any credit card payment in the world goes to pending status and then gets posted after few days. With Nord VPN payment pending procedure, imagine a word with service put on hold because the credit card payment is in pending status . Dum B BOT! Update : the so called agents are so useless that they ended up canceling my two accounts which caused disruption to business. Totally useless customer support. They have bots or agents who don’t understand what is asked , it’s such a pain to deal with these companies who market themselves as great experience but in reality are worst because they by no means have humans to look into the problem or whoever looks into does not understand English maybe and instead of fixing the problem cancel the account.
Junk Fees. I purchased the service as I was going to be traveling out of the country for a couple of weeks and needed to be able to connect to websites in the United States. When you sign up for the service auto renewal is the default option. I had forgotten to turn off auto renewal, but then noticed a pending charge on the last date of my subscription. I cancelled the auto renewal immediately. I reached out to the company to request a refund, but they refused. They simply pointed me to their terms of service. When I think of the government trying to attack companies who issue junk fees, this situation climbs to the top of my mind. Auto renewal should not be the default option. You should be able to be refunded at least a partial payment if you are not going to be using the service. I’m never gonna use this service again. As an aside ever since I installed this VPN, I constantly am asked to verify that I’m a human being when I try to connect to Google. I wonder if it’s something about the VPN that forces me to constantly have to select particular pictures. It’s really annoying that anytime I want to search for anything, I have to complete that task. I’m thankful I deleted it.
NordVPN. I just downloaded this app to try it out. I didn’t realized that it blocks ads. So I need to pause it during the time that I’m playing games so that I can get extra lives & boosters from certain games. Most of the games I play both on my phone & iPad uses ads to get certain things. Plus my streaming apps are not working since I got this app. I haven’t checked all of my streaming apps but the one that’s connected to my cable service isn’t working right. Sorry but I had to cancel & delete the app because it was causing me issues with how it was interfering with my streaming apps and internet connection. I don’t know who I would have to contact about getting a refund for the unused service. Now that I don’t have the app on my devices I noticed that everything is working properly like it was before I got the app. Yes I needed the protection but not the problems that I was dealing with. It did check my other streaming apps and they weren’t working properly. Well I won’t be able to get my money refunded because the subscription was bought through iTunes & this app doesn’t give a refund either. What a waste of money. Highly disappointed.😔
Nord VPN is decent, with room to improve. I switched from Express VPN to Nord about 6 months ago, when Express was acquired by a shady management firm. Nord was top-rated by tech sites I trust, so I gave them a try. The app is ok, but not perfect. It has a nasty habit of showing you as “connected” when it is still working to establish or re-establish connection; this is frustrating: Express VPN was always my “canary in the coal mine,” alerting me to network issues as soon as connectivity began to degrade. It is also vexatious that Nord shows “connected” while it is still negotiating the assignment of an IP address; sometimes I’ll later return to the app and discover that this process had stalled, and that troubleshooting of the network connection or the app is needed. Throughput is generally satisfactory; I don’t require blistering speeds for my purposes, and Nord almost never slows me down. Stability is excellent: the app has never crashed on me. Generally a good app, and I am essentially happy with it.
“Customer service” is anything but. I switched to Nord VPN last year from another VPN service. I was much happier with it for a while, but then I started being unable to watch geographically restricted things I subscribe to via Apple TV’s software while traveling abroad. I wrote Nord VPN’s customer support to try to get tech support and I spent a number of days answering questions for which I had already provided the answers in my initial query and re-explaining things the staff didn’t correctly understand from my query and my subsequent emails. After several days of this frustrating experience, someone suddenly replied that Nord VPN no longer worked with Apple TV’s software and that was that. He did not apologize for his colleagues wasting my time for several days, nor explain why what he said hadn’t been someone’s immediate response to my initial query, nor apologize that the service was no longer capable of delivering one of the main reasons I subscribed to it. What I took away from this experience was that Nord VPN is great if you have no problems, but if you run into any issues, don’t expect competent customer support.
Worst of all... especially for 3 year subscribers. Warning!! Foreigners in China I request you to read the reviews before subscribing. You will see a pattern , immediately after they receive the money you will be barred from connecting…. Especially people who are thinking long time subscription. The moment you subscribe to the service the service will be gone.... yes no more service. All you will be left with are their textbook emails and their so called technical team & years and years of complaining. Out of thousands of servers as they clam... you will be left with one stupid server in Singapore, which will connect for a month out of a year. Rest of the year you will be replying stupid questions to technical team without any outcome. Apple & Google should also take some notice, they are using these platforms to ripoff people by Not providing people with the services as mentioned in their app description. These app hosting platforms should read the public reviews and black list these NordVPN kind of apps. These apps are using apple store to cheat people. Apple must take some action against such apps.
When it works, it’s a great service. I’ve been using NordVPN for almost a week. The VPN provides great, fast internet connection that has almost no impact on latency or speed of any kind, from web-browsing to streaming to even playing video games. I love that one account allows me to use it for 6 devices, so I have one for my iPhone, one for my laptop and one for my PC. Again, no latency issues or speed impacts when I play Modern Warfare or some of my mobile games. So why 3*? That’s where I become annoyed with the inconsistency of the VPN connection. So it works great when it works, but for whatever reason when the connection to their servers suddenly stop, the whole crashes. From time to time on MW, I can see it rubbernecked and I’ll start teleporting several feet from my position. On my iPhone suddenly I get drops in connection, and my whole WiFi stops working. I have to turn off then turn on my WiFi on the phone to get it working again. I also noticed that if you stop using your iPhone and leave it on idle, when you wake it up/use it again, the VPN shuts off and has to turn back on again. It’s very inconsistent when VPN stays on.
lost my password to login already after less than a month..
Disappointed. Unless you are a computer junky you will be disappointed in this program’s capabilities because there is no what, how, or why about this program supplied with it the I have found!! The program was installed by my “computer guru” with the admonition that it was easy to use. Although I am passed 80 years old, I’m not without computer experience. I helped develop the first elementary school programs for students to learn how to use a computer for writing, researching, etc. However, more advanced programs (such as blocking hackers and safeguarding your information needs a lot more support than appears available with these advanced protection programs. Also, I realize it is cheaper for the developer to but everything you need to know online, having a manual you can read without distraction and ponder at your heart’s content until you grasp the concepts certainly still has merit! If such a document is available for use with Apple computers and your program, please advise me of such ASAP!
NordVPN does exactly what its advertized. The internet connection- used is ATT wireless- and many times takes many minutes to get the APP up and accessable. Which is why 1 star less. But once up and running I love it. Update: My ATT netwok still throttles my access at the 3 days before my payments are due- results- the site fails to load after 5” -10” of working to get in. If I am unable to pay on time they ring up a credit ding on my credit rating for missing a payment. And can buy me back n at a higher rate due to the drop in credit rating. if I have to use a phone call to pay my bill on time they make me wait on hold 10-20” drawing down my battery before processing, and they ding me an extra finance charge of $5.00 a month. NOW When I use NVPN - my initial access is not reduced to ineffective I can pay my bill before ATT dings me. And it takes 5” rather than 20-40” with interruption in the miidle of my day. This APP protects our credit rating and our time.
Consistent at being inconsistent. If there’s one thing this app is good at, it’s being consistently inconsistent. I have to continuously monitor server connection as it drops quite frequently while I am browsing or checking the news. I’m currently overseas so it’d be great if the app would work on its own without the need for a babysitter. A few of my apps cannot work unless it shows me to be stateside, which adds to the frustration of using this VPN. Update: I’ve taken the developer suggestion of switching to TCP and it’s still randomly dropping me. It has also uninstalled its certificate on its own, twice. Another issue I have is the inability to force it to only use servers from a particular country, I’ve tried methods of both auto connection and manually forcing it to my country of choice, only to find it has connected or tried to connect to two other countries at some period of use. At this rate I’m looking forward to getting back home and deleting this app from my devices. It seems good, when it wants to work correctly, it’s just having the patience for it to arrive at that point in time.
Great app, besides one major bug. The VPN performs great, my internet service still always feel as fast as it should be. However, there is something that ruins the user experience for me and if not fixed soon, I will have to cancel my membership with NordVPN after something like 3 years. It seems like every couple of days I am being signed out of NordVPN. On my phone, iPad, Windows 10 on my PC… it is brutally annoying when I’m simply getting on the internet, but have no internet accesss due to the VPN trying to connect but not logged in. So Instead of it just letting me bypass the application, it could and seemingly would load for eternity. You then have to go to the app on whatever device you are trying to use it with, go to NordVPN so it can tell you it proudly logged you out, sign in, allow it to function through your settings, wait, and then start using it again. It’s very annoying and now I find myself turning it off completely more often than I used to. Developers need to fix whatever is causing this
Frequent Logouts & Servers Go Missing.. Mostly good service, but I can’t stand by its ability to be consistent. Frequently logged out without notice or prompt weekly, if not every few days or so (seems to be a widespread problem based on searching for solutions). When this happens, the VPN icon shows on iOS, however no actual protection is there so you’ll have to open the app somewhat regularly to check if it’s actually working or if you’re required to login again. Servers i use regularly will disappear completely every couple weeks. Sometimes deleting and reinstalling will bring them back, but this makes no sense. I get hangs where things won’t load on sites or apps, when checking the Nord app i’m met with a spinning icon with the words “assigning IP address” and it never actually will, so I have to manually disconnect and retry until it works after a few tries. When its connected and stable its great, but I’m definitely rethinking if the trouble is worth it at this point. Take the time to compare other options before committing to this service at least.
Do NOT BUY IT!. I bought Nord for my Mac Pro. It worked fine the first day. For whatever reason the second day I got to spend four hours on chat with their tech specialist downloading other files so that I could actually work on the Mac. It worked for about two days and then certain website start dropping off you couldn't get them. Then the second week it started cycling on and off we couldn't connect to any servers. The real problem is you have to have a VPN to contact their service tech so I have an app and a continual loop of emails. He finally gave me a way to talk to the technician the technician is all of about 10. How the technician will do for you is have you flip switches on and off uninstall and reinstall the program I've now been on with them for another hour and a half. Still nothing works and I don't want to refund my money because I've been working with them for almost 3 weeks now, which means that I've gone over the 30 day moneyback portion of their agreement. I've told them that they can keep their one-month that worked I'm willing to pay for that and they could refund the remainder. But they are insistent that I should stay with them and continue to waste my time or just let them keep the $100 I paid for a service that doesn't work.
What they don’t tell you. Edit: After having dealt with six customer service reps (which I think were just chatbots) I decided to not follow up as the Nord VPN developer response to this review suggested. Instead I went to the bank and had them dispute the charges. I don’t like doing that since I prefer to work with the company and take care of it without getting a third party involved. Sadly with the lack of customer support I was left with no other option. Seriously avoid Nord VPN. This was a time consuming and irritating experience. Original Post: First websites will block you. I had this happen on a gaming wiki and through an app because the IP address Nord VPN gave me had been flagged. With the VPN off I was able to access those sites. And I LOVE how one of Nord VPN’s selling point is all about streaming services, especially being able to watch those in different countries. Well the reality is those services have caught on and will prevent you from watching, even in America, if you’re not on the correct Nord VPN servers. Oh and as for customer support, it’s more worthless than broken glass in coffee. I was charged for a second month and when I explained this to them instead of working with me to refund the money I was told to just eat the loss.
Updated for 8.6.1 - Version 8.5.0 Breaks VPN. Update for 8.6.1 - This update fixed all issues I noted below! Thank you all so much for your quick work and assistance! Original - The latest update seems to have broken the VPN. I am continuously dropping connections and having server requests time out on the web. Webpages also are not loading completely and I often have to refresh the pages 2-3 times before the next section loads, only to then have to do it again after scrolling down a little ways. Apps are also constantly showing connection issues and freezing up, forcing me to force close them and try again. These problems were never an issue before this last update. Please help. Also, I’ve noticed recently that every time I unlock my iPhone I see “VPN” in the top right corner like the phone is reconnecting to the VPN. This could be an iOS thing that was introduced recently in the last iOS update. I’m not really sure.
Not too sure….. I paid & subscribed to NordVPN Premium Plan for 2 years on July 29, 2022 and it went down hill from there. I sent 3 emails trying to get help &/or get someone, a real person, to contact me to help me with setup & explain the lack of an active subscription. I never got a response on those 3 emails until after August 8th. That neither endeared them nor strengthened my trust in this company’s Customer Service. I tried each day to set up the VPN, but each time got a response on one page that I did not have an “active subscription.” However on my profile page it said that my subscription would expire on July 29, 2024! It was not until August 9th that I reached a human via live chat that took the time to listen & help me with the issues, took the time to explain their processes, steps I needed to take, etc. I was so thankful! Now it is August 11th & this morning when I checked in on my NordVPN Systems, I found the same statement of “You don’t have an active subscription” 😡😡! This company doesn’t seem to function very well! I am going to look for another Company that is more reliable & has true “Customer Service” available because they are loosing my trust as a reliable Internet Security Company! JKP
Not working | Update to 4 stars. Tried using the VPN after reading the reviews and watching the ads, but sadly it didn't work at all. Nord wasn't able to connect to any server at all. It just kept searching for an IP address but never got it. I tried couple of the solutions that i was able to find online but nothing worked. My recommendation is get a VPN that have a trial of 7 days at least before purchasing. This feels like a scam since Nord only gives 30 money back guarantee days through the website, but not through the App Store. which feels like they are trying to go around the App Store rules, so they can receive all the money payed instead of providing the most they can to their customers. Which does not seem that they care about. ----------------------------------------------- Update I didn't contact the support but suddenly after one day, i tried using the app and it started working just as advertised (etc. expand the library in certain streaming platform). It is possible to encounter issue in the beginning and they suddenly resolve themselves. I appreciate the response from Nord and that shows they care. But sadly still the issue of not having a trail period is there. But as Nord representative have mentioned if you encountered any issues, you can be refunded through Apple. The speed of the connection is as expected from a VPN, it is slow depending on which server you are connecting through. That is totally normal in any VPN.
Be careful with this scam. A month ago i got nordvpn and it actually was working well until one day, for some reason the two mfa security option was activated on my account without my permission, i didnt do it since i only have google authenticator and there was no nordvpn account in there so i thought the account was hacked, to my surprise when i contact support they tell me they can’t reset my account if i dont give them an apple pay number that doesnt exists anymore (I removed my cards from apple pay) and even if it did i wouldnt feel confortable giving away, basically i lost access to the vpn and they charged me a full year for a product i only used for a month, asked for refund and got no luck with that, and now im asking just to have that account cancelled and had no luck either, looks to me more like a scam than a legit company since i’ve just been getting this obtuse responses for a week now. I’m texting them from my personal email linked to the same account but they still say they cant confirm its me… got a point where i dont know if i should cancel the credit card i used to pay now and just forget about it but all the trouble they are giving me its just ridiculous.
So far so good!. I “intentionally” waited to sign up for a VPN because of some stupid block put into place here in my state. No, I would never even consider visiting certain sites of that nature, but COME ON, IT’S 2024! Why are people still offended by “bedroom action” to this day? Shielding individuals of all ages from s*x does not work at all, does not work ever! It just causes more harm and more problems! Hence I subscribed to NordVPN effective mid-March just as a protest for this s*x fear that just won’t go away! Now the good part, I set my profile when surfing here in Texas, I always set it to Seattle. It does what it should, no impact to my internet speed whatsoever and I feel even more confident knowing no surprises (trackers, hackers, etc.) will come my way! The international settings are really nice, too; I tried Toronto on Saturday night to test the CBC website! Who would have thought I would be watching “Hockey Night in Canada” all the way down in Texas? 😀
NORD. I have used NORD VPN for years and I have been happy with the results, speeds are excellent, tech help, helps. I like that they have tons of help files for everything from problems to setting up your router with open VPN, I think it is worth it to use setup an ASUS router they don’t need a lot of stuff done, install Merlin, but take your time you can still make a paper weight out of the router, I have found that Nord has the best prices, lots of servers up and running, the app works well, my game speeds and always extremely fast, I don’t have buffering issues very often, but it’s a limitation on the TV, it’s not capable from what I’ve been told,I only use WiFi for a couple of hours a week, I use Amazon’s USB with ethernet cable and I have a wired network, I am looking into an 8 port router but waiting for the prices to come down some. I’m not employed, affiliated or paid for my review. I have had a very good experience, speed is over my advertised range by almost 1 1/2 times. What more could you want DGD
NEVER AGAIN NORDVPN! CREATED CHAOS FOR ME AFTER AN 'UPDATE' months ago.. After paying for many years of Nordvpn it suddenly stopped working. EVERYTHING online became a nightmare. Hours and hours working with online NORDVPN fixed nothing. Finally they told me "wait for the app to fix itself". MONTHS LATER NOTHING IS 'FIXED'! I stupidly paid for an annual subscription. MONEY WASTED. Now I have a free (limited version) Proton VPN and everything works 100% of the time. I WILL NEVER USE ANY 'NORD' product again. The app installed on my phone like a ghost -- a pale inert icon -- the tech incarnation of a paperweight. Hours and hours online with tech help. Finally the online tech helper said "wait for the app to fix itself". Really!!!!!? Now, finally, the app is updated and I try to connect to a VPN. But it doesn't work! No connections! No protection! After I committed to a 3-year prepaid subscription I am forced to pay for and install a competing app, ExpressVPN? What kind of business are you running? You're so popular that an individual user, like me, means nothing? (1) I paid in advance. (2) Hours of chatting online with your tech support gives NO SOLUTIONS TO THE FACT THAT YOUR VPN STOPPED PROTECTING MY DATA. (3) Deeply disappointed. (4) I only hope that ExpressVPN does a better job than NordVPN.
I said it’s not working (iran)for the 100 time. This vpn DONT WORKS in IRAN ! Are you understanding what I need?! How possible the free vpn application work on the my iPhone, but your application don’t work for me to use internet from a month ego’s! I’m known that you didn’t get shown any of my reviews same as before! And do nothing and not just a little changing in the application for help tu us! Shame on you and your app and moreover shame on me for the time past and money pay for your useless application and sorry to be sinking your help in this case I hate of you because you shamed me in my relationship and my friends and my family!! Everyone joked about the fact I telling them about how much your pisuri app iS good and I was trying to get the people to go in the NordVPN and nowe they lugging me for that words , I think i was doing a bad job and I really sorry for inviting them to your useless and weakness fully app!! You want only getting money from people and after that you don’t work for make sure they are happy or not For last version; Don’t work in iran in the same time working free and don’t famous vpn but the big NORD doesn’t work in iran and don’t want do anything
What a mess. I’ve been asking for 2 features for 6 years now and no one gives a dam. App drops connections all the time and will not warm with a msg that connection is dropped. 2. When trying to reconnect it only tries for 15 seconds or so and then gives up, there should be a block internet setting where no access unless it reconnects or someone reconnects but still didn’t include it. It’s like they don’t care about privacy! Always connect is on but still drops connection and stop retrying after a few seconds ruins the whole app. Smh many unfixed issues, connection droops, many times app frozen wount connect and many many times wount reconnect after turning phone on or reconnecting from a constant connection drop. Update: still nothing fixed!!! App drops connections all the time and that’s if u can actually connect. Takes 10-30 min to connect sometimes. App stops trying after 30sec. 90% of the time you click buttons on app and nothing even happens. Issues after issues each week it gets worse and worse! If you are connected to one sever for over 5min it stops working. Can’t get anytning done till you switch servers and that’s takes like 15-30min because the app is so bad! I’ve had enough. Moved to a better vpn!
Needs better resolution. I regret not knowing which server in US I am connected to and where it is located. I miss that feature which is present in other VPN services. I like the wide choice of NordVPN servers around the world. I wish NordVPN gave some explanation and guidance, upon activation, of the three types of VPN they offer. It was a shot in the dark on which was best when I had to make my selection. I suppose it is nice that they offer more than one type, to be fair. I had not seen those options with my former service. I do notice that with Nord as well as my former service, that most sites I visit can still track back to my physical location. All it’s really doing is giving me a pseudo IP address. Google Chrome sniffs through the VPN to the physical location, or close to it; at least to my Internet Provider’s gateway. I do like being able to shop in Asia or Latin America at lower price levels.
Can’t maintain a connection. This seemed like a great idea and product and I believe at the heart of the matter it is but at least half the time when I start using my browser, nord is not connected even though I always have app running or disconnects in middle of session and I have to reconnect and keep trying different servers. Which is why I have kill switch turned on because otherwise you would be surfing and not know you no longer have protection of vpn. I have iPhone se. if you are using out of country server you will simply not get into lots of websites . And I can only speak to iPhone on this issue, your iPhone will sometimes report your location to sites even if you are on vpn. You may be able to turn something off in your settings to not allow that but I have not really tried. I bought NordVPN just to use it when I was using credit card or financial sites and for my kids to have on their phones for “weirdo” security and as long as you make sure it’s live before you start surfing I think you’d be good.
Nord VPN is perfect, use it always !! Highly Recommend !.!.!!. It doesn’t seem to slow me down at home or Mobile. I see the web differently now. It’s like a protective suit of armor or cloaking device that allows me to surf the web without fear of being watched or logged as to where I go and what I do on the web. I like being able to choose the county I appear to be in. I have not notice a delay in downloading movies using .torrent files. The dedicated IP address option is helpful when logging in to site where my ip needs to be whitelisted before being granted access. I like that Nord doesn’t keep logs of customers traffic. They are based outside of the US so it’s going to be near impossible for Nord to be forced by the US government or law enforcement to hand over logs of customers web traffic that do not exist anyway because Nord does not keep logs of who goes where or when. I’ve been using Nord for about 1 year now and plan to keep using not always.
Scammy pricing and auto renewal. Company will auto-renew a 1 year plan weeks early at a cost 66% higher than what you would pay if you just bought a 1 year plan on their website. Brought this up in a customer service chat after being surprised by the early billing and higher cost charge on my cc. I was offered a discount and (twice) told that they value their recurring customers. Their pricing and billing practices definitely do not reflect such a statement! If you choose nord, DON’T LET THEM AUTO-RENEW, you will pay more. Response to Developer: Did you know that, on average, a person agrees to more TOS text than they have waking hours to read in any given year? Hiding such an unfavorable practice in your TOS rather than being upfront about it broke my trust as a customer. I relied on your brand name and trusted that you don't employ tactics to take advantage by charging your auto-renew customers so much more. It was technically a mistake on my part for not digging through your TOS to find this pricing policy of yours, but I refuse to do any more business with a company that chooses to obscure something such as a 66% price hike upon renewal, not to mention this is grossly overpaying for a VPN service. Please stop this shady practice Nord.
Not a tech wiz but Nord VPN helps me feel safe and is easy enough for me.. I have 2 cellular devices. After both were stolen I lost the log in for NordVPN (Authenticator app problem or something), and so I have “Norton 360” on my other device. In comparison, NordVPN’s app is much easier to navigate, every article I've read favors Nord as well with Norton falling closely behind. I think I’m able to run 2 VPNs on Nord at once now, I don’t know much about it. I pay a subscription for both. Norton 360 has a very confusing app. Half the time my VPN isn’t even on, the device with Norton. I keep NordVPN on auto. And it’s steadily does it thing WiFi or not. Now I hope these ads I read aren’t sponsored and I’m just paying for scams but it makes me feel safe and sometimes that’s just enough. -An American who just wants their right to privacy, safety, avoid hackers, and use my devices securely without affecting speed.
Best VPN I have evaluated!. IMO, best VPN available. Quickly switch between vpn locations or between vpn and regular coonections. No issues accessing geo-locked content, Netflix/Youtube/Hulu/Disney+/BBC iPlayer/PrimeVideo etc. Other VPNs I have used are detected as VPN connections and rejected by some services, Nord has always worked. All available nodes have responded and provided full access with no speed decreases. Now a loyal user, I use the two year signups, which is unusual, as I am confident in Nord being around and stable for years to come. Also, please be aware that the reviews displayed as example reviews in the Apple app store include multiple spam accounts using a standard template to claim suposed multiple military personnel complaining about overseas access to US nodes. I noticed that there are at least two that use IDENTICAL text, but one forgot to update the name of NordVPN and it still says xxVPN, a different app. This would seem to indicate its spam from another VPN provider trying to sully the NordVPN app.
Absolute Crap. I purchased a three year subscription 4 months ago. Up until a week ago, it was at least working, slow but working. Now it’s just stopped working completely. I have it installed on 5 Apple devices (2 iPhones, 2 Macs, and an iPad) and it just keeps kicking me out. It’s constantly dropping connection, will sign out if I pause connection, then it will take over an hour to let me login, IF IT LETS ME LOGIN. (Note: I’ve currently been trying to log in for the last two hours) Plus if it signs out of one device, it signs out in all of them. It repeatedly fails. Would also like to note that I bought this because I was moving out of the US, but the country I live is a country listed as one of the countries you can run a vpn through. Also Nord, don’t tell me to contact customer service or whatever other troubleshooting you’ve listed on all the other comments that are saying the same thing, I can’t even access the website because I can’t log in. I’ve deleted and reinstalled the app, and still nothing. If this many people are saying the same thing, especially over the last couple weeks, maybe look at your last two updates and figure out what went wrong.
Nothing but trouble. After downloading the application, I got connected, but could do nothing else because neither the account or the heart icon appeared. I promptly wrote to customer support which replied slowly, providing canned responses indicating that they had not even read my emails. Even worse, most of my email reply messages were blocked, stating that the server was unable to relay messages. I tried every remedy I could find online, including delete that mail account. When I tried that, and restored the account, I found all the email in the outbox had disappeared completely . Suspecting that the Nord application might be the culprit, I tried to disconnect it in settings, but it immediately came back on spontaneously. Finally, I went to the application and successfully disconnected it on my my IPhone . I then went to the Outbox and tried to send an email I had written after the account had been restored, but the server had rejected it sending it to the Outbox. Success ! I have had no problem with the phone’s email since. Because I had the same problem with my IPad, I was about to disconnect when I was asked to write a review. This is it. I will now try to disconnect on my IPad . And demand a refund.
Deceptive billing practices. Be very careful about auto-renewal payments, as NordVPN is really deceptive about when they will actually take payment from you - guess what, it’s before your subscription expires, and they try to hide when, exactly! What they are doing is clearly a money grab. On their website, it one place it says that you will be charged after your subscription ends. In another place, it says it they will charge you “up to” 14 days before your subscription ends. Don’t say when, but just “up to”. They claim this is for convenience of ensuring no interrupted service, but how can there be an interruption if the customer is signed up for auto renewal? In the email warning you if the upcoming auto-renewal payment, they say that your subscription is expiring and since you are on autorenewal you will be charged in 30 days. They then make it very clear and direct that your subscription expires on a given date (44 days out for me). Why be so clear about my subscription expiration date, but don’t clearly state what date I will be charged? Obviously trying to hide the fact, without technically lying.
This has not changed anything for me 😡. I originally purchased this because I was promised several features and whatnot. I made a decision that I was going to buy the 3-year subscription. BIG waste of $300. Buying any VPN is nearly useless. I tried to cancel and refund a LONG time ago before my 30 days and it would take me in circles not allowing me to get a refund. I even talked to someone. They told me what to select and to no avail, no refund. It’s been a while (I still have 2 years until my “protection” runs out). But I saw the app on my phone and thought I’d look at it for old times sake. Your IP is NOT protected, nor is anything you do. I made SURE I was connected and configured etc., but I was still able to pull my own IP and see every little crumb I left on the internet and media by using some software I developed for myself to become a White Hat for Ethical Hacking. What you see on sponsored websites is false. They don’t do anything. They use the money they trick people into spending to buy advertisements and then make more money from that over time. I know every company is basically a fraud in one way or another, but with this one specifically, there is no benefit, but lost money I could have put towards groceries, house payment, car payment, Christmas for my daughter, and SO MUCH more. I’m not only dissatisfied, and disappointed, but I’m disgusted even a whole year after making a purchase I was PROMISED I could reverse within 30 days.
Problems with my subscription and bad customer service. I’ve used this app before when traveling through China for work, but had some issues with the subscription and not being able to use the service after the 7 day free trial. I deleted the app, and just re-downloaded it onto a different device and had very similar problems with the subscription. I logged in, and was prompted to choose a subscription plan, with the advertisement that the first 7 days were on NordVPN. There was no drop down menu within the app, the only option was to choose the 1 year subscription. I didn’t think I would immediately be charged. When I realized I’d been charged I cancelled my subscription and submitted a customer support. I was then sent an email with a ticket but when I clicked the link for the ticket, it took me to a page that could not be found. Overall, I’ve had a very frustrating experience using NordVPN and trying to choose a subscription/ attempting to use their service after the 7 day trial and purchasing a subscription. Their customer service has also left much to be desired.
They just took away a lot of features and control. Not happy about lost functionality. Stop telling me how to use the app. I want the bells and whistles not a “streamline.”That’s the point I would say that they have lost my trustworthiness and they are working against us to users and order to get our data. The reason I say this is they took away the Internet Killswitch. They took away auto connect which won’t connect it in tonight at all unless you are in the p.m. So no connected to the Internet and then they’ll connect you to the VPN maybe. Set a connecting you to the country you last requested, the connect you to a five eyes country first and then you have to re-select a different country. They’re just taking the axe to all the good features. And they will not let you connect to specific servers like before they choose the server that you get to connect to instead of the huge list we once got to have. I used to be able to find the fastest server myself or if I suspected that one, now I don’t get to have a choice. I have to change to completely different country if the Internet is slow or weird. They have been changing the terms of service also. So.....
