Bad Service, Worse Support. We travel full-time with our family in our RV so we’ve been a lot of places with Mint. We also have an ATT hotspot plan as our main internet service on the road. ATT is there for us in 95% of the places we stay (and most are in towns and near cities, not in the woods). Mint, however, is usually good for voice, but the 10gb of data we pay for rarely gets used because their LTE service is nearly non-existent in the west. Try chatting to see if you can find some resolution and you’ll waste an hour and a half while someone takes 10 minutes between each response only to accomplish in that time checking an address they were told we don’t live at and resetting our phone, and finally checking a couple recent addresses to let us know, “we’re weak there. And there, too.” Oh, and offered $5 for the inconvenience that our plan with them that we’ve had for 3 years didn’t work in Bend, OR (100,000 pop) or 80% of the places we travel since leaving there. Customers for 3 years and we’ve kept it because it’s cheaper than most service plans and like I mentioned, we have our trusty AT&T hotspot for WiFi that works nearly EVERYWHERE. Why is ATT so much better than T-Mobile/Mint? I mean, it’s absurd how often Mint just fails you when you’re traveling. Oh, and they’re constantly pushing you to refer friends and family—I would never! Run!
Sooooo thrilled!!!. I had Straight Talk for years and it was always ridiculous shenanigans! Their website and app were both terrible and customer service, ugh forget it! I mostly used wifi so I just kept on at their lowest cost plan. However, after I moved & didn’t get home internet, my 10GB of data ran out super quick. I don’t use social media or streaming services, so it seemed weird. I had ppl stop sending me pics (sorry mom!) and limited data usage to just when necessary and still ran out about half way through the month. So I switched to Mint without fully realizing it was only 5GB for the 3 month $15 plan. At first I thought there was no way I could do it, but the last two months in a row I’ve been under 5GB by the end of the month and have been using data for several apps quite a bit! Service areas seem pretty comparable and the yearly plans are super reasonable. Just starting my fourth month since switching and I’m loving it! I don’t use the Mint app a ton. Like all other non-essential app, I have the data settings turned off and occasionally check my data usage while on wifi. I appreciate how easy and straightforward it is to check it!
Interface Far From User-Friendly. User interface was far from user friendly. Right out the gate, the only way to use this service, is to choose from one of their data plans; even if you’re just looking to transfer service providers, port over your number, and pay later, they will put you on their free trial, instead, with no confirmations or communications with you of any kind. Contrary to their mission statement, there is not a single person who will help you. Not only was I unsuccessful in porting over my number with this provider, but also, I am having trouble canceling said port-over because I instead switched to a different mobile provider whose user interface was also run using similar automated systems, and was charging even lower rates for exactly the same service, and their user interface ran a lot more smoothly and actually communicated my number port over to me properly, including checking whether or not my port over was successful, since I am now having billing issues with my former mobile company, because of something that’s allegedly not in their systems - meaning, it is in yours, Mint Mobile! I was literally unable to reach an actual person with regards to this issue, again, contrary to this company’s mission statement. The company only seems concerned with getting its users to spend money on their data plans, without properly communicating what exactly their “customers” are getting themselves into, especially when they are switching providers.
Don’t trust Mint Mobile. I spent two weeks trying to get Mint Mobile to help fix whatever was wrong with my number transfer, losing business, losing a lot of time, and losing money. Mint Mobile would have me on phone calls for hours only to not fix the problem, ask me to wait 48 hours to see if the transfer went through, and then have to start the process over again. My case got escalated to the port department twice and they never got back to me, a manager was supposed to return my call within three hours yesterday to three way call with me and my previous carrier to resolve the problem and they never got back to me. No one at Mint Mobile ever did anything real to help me. There is an old saying, “You get what you pay for” so there is absolutely a price to pay for getting a less expensive service - the customer service will tell you whatever they have to go get off the phone and pass the buck to someone else when you have to call back to tell the story again later. Save your money, your time, and your frustration by staying with a carrier you can count on. I returned back to my old carrier today and it works perfectly, headache over. Good riddance, Mint Mobile.
They refused to refund me for a service that didn’t work. I have been with Mint Mobile for over 2 years now. I have been very happy with them so far. Except recently, I needed extra data to run a hotspot for a temporary lack of WiFi. I paid $15 for the 5GB add on. The extra data showed up in my account but when I went to use the hot spot it did not work on any of my devices. I called customer service and they informed me it was because I purchased the “wrong kind” of data—my cellular data was maxed out so it was not supporting the hot spot bc I chose to add “hot spot” data. The problem is I was never given the option to select which kind of data I was purchasing. It lists it as “data/hotspot” add on. I purchased this thinking it would solve the issue and get me back online. It didn’t. So essentially I gave them money for a service that didn’t work and they refused to give me a refund. All of this happened literally days before they changed their unlimited model to be truly unlimited (in which case I wouldn’t have needed to purchase the add on in the first place). Of course I didn’t know this at the time. Not only that, the customer service agent told me my hotspot data would roll over to the next month, when it clearly says no rollovers. Sure enough I opened my app on the new month and NO rollover for hot spot. So she misled me there as well. Basically Mint Mobile stole my money and refused to work with me as a long time customer. Not happy.
I love Mint!. We switched from Verizon to Mint a year ago and I couldn’t be happier!! We’re saving so much money to get the exact same service, honestly maybe even better! We kept dropping calls on Verizon and would have slow internet data and I was worried it would be the same for Mint, but I haven’t had any dropped calls and my data has been great! What I love about Mint is it truly is what you see is what you get. If I run out of data, they tell me I can add more (for a really reasonable price) or my data will just be super slow. I love how easy it is to check data as well. The app is simple, but literally has everything you need. The only problems we’ve had was when we went on vacation to Portland. Our phones didn’t want to work around the mall area only…no clue why but honestly, it really wasn’t a problem. If you’re thinking about switching, truly just try it! You can try a three month plan, no strings attached. It’s the best phone service I’ve had and I’m not just saying that because of the fun Ryan Reynolds perks you get as well (like an ornament that had a recorded message you could call and listen too…totally used it to pretend I was on an important call at family gatherings…). I love Mint!
Happy I switched. This is totally random but a few months ago (4 months I think) I switched phone companies. I went from Boost mobile to Mint mobile. Anyways. I tried the plan that was like 30 gigs a month of data, and was shocked when it said I had only used less than 5 gigs in a whole month. However. I am extra cautious with using the data on my phone and always try to connect to wifi when I’m playing games or watching videos. You know, the stuff that uses lots of data. So with mint, you pay for 3 months. And each month I hardly used 5 gigs of data. So the next round I decided to try the unlimited data plan and I wanted to do all the normal things I’d do on my phone using data. Because I found it weird that with the last company I was with I would ALWAYS go over on my data even when I’d be extremely cautious about my usage. It didn’t seem right that I was doing all the same stuff as I did with my last phone company, and yet now I’m hardly using any of my data?… anyways. I can confirm even with using data- updating my phone, and updating games etc. I *still* haven’t gone over 10 gigs. So that leads me to believe boost was somehow causing my phone to use more data. Maybe with something running in the background. Because you can always buy more data if you go over. So freaking scammy. I’m glad I switched.
Great Company!. I left Verizon bc I didn’t like things they were saying and doing and also bc I felt like they were fleecing me each month with my enormous phone bill. I tried Visible for awhile, they’re a cheaper sister company of Verizon, but that didn’t work out bc they didn’t have service in areas that I needed service for my job. That sent me looking for alternatives. I looked at all of them, including Patriot Mobile and Pure Talk. They both had plans for $50-$60 a month, which was way better than Verizon, but I needed something a bit more economical that still had great service and attitude. That’s when I remembered that Ryan Reynolds had done a commercial for his company called Mint Mobile. I really like Ryan Reynolds. I think he’s silly and fun, so I looked into Mint. I loved the laid back, silly and fun demeanor of Mint from the get go. Atmosphere is huge for me. I also loved that I could pay a whole year up front for my service and it was only $100ish than I was paying MONTHLY at Verizon. I also noticed that my data usage plummeted as well, even though I haven’t changed anything I do on my phone.
Easy? Yeah, no.. I attempted to renew my plans today and was met with a full morning of phone calls. My partner and I are on a mint family plan and I’m the primary account. I wake up and see my renewal was declined by my financial institution. I attempt o make the payment manually in my account, but it seems like I have to split it up into two separate ones. It declines. I call my financial institution and they lift the hold. I call Mint. They try to push it through and it declines. I call my financial institution. They say it’s not them and it’s approved. I make one payment manually for my renewal. I attempt to renew my partners and it declines. I call my financial institution. They say there is no hold and it’s approved to charge a lot and multiple transactions to my account. I call Mint. I get transferred. I’m put on hold. They say they don’t have internal holds and it’s my bank. I ask them who’s lying them because both statements can’t be true. They try to push payment through again. I end up having to get card details for my backup card to make a payment or risk losing my phone plan. Mint mobile customer support staff are not very knowledgeable about the app. They say I should see details that don’t exist. At this moment, it doesn’t show my account or my family plan account are paid, but I see the amounts deducted. I was put on hold while receiving text messages that the transaction was denied. I wasn’t listened to when I explained that it could be an internal hold by Mint for repeat denials. I feel such issues should be better addressed. The process was not streamlined or easy, but frustrating and Orwellian.
Fantastic Switch from Verizon to Mint Mobile!. I recently made the switch from Verizon to Mint Mobile after being with Verizon for over a decade. With Verizon, I was paying a whopping $208 per month for four family lines, including taxes and fees. The decision to switch to Mint Mobile has been a game-changer. Ciao T-mobile Hello Mint. Since T-Mobile joined forces w/ Sprint I began to notice the change. Calls frequently dropped, my bill secretly increased, my same 2 associates for 3 years that always handled my account vanished…they would even ask how my dog Capone was… I soon was being transferred to a call center in another country … yeah T-mobile Tuesdays was a cool perk but after all issues stated above ..no longer a perk to me …I heard about Mint on Trash Tuesdays Podcast (Hollaaa Slugs) the paid 3,6,12 months at once like my car insurance was what sold me… then BONUS how extremely inexpensive the plans are! So this morning I waited 1 hour and 15 minutes for T-Mobile to call me back spoke with someone (I couldn’t understand her name) who had me on the phone for another 20 minutes to apologize letting me know she didn’t know how to release our phone numbers on the account to transfer too Mint. I then called up mint, Erick answered and within 10 minutes had both our numbers transferred and our new mint account activated! If making the switch because of their Awesome phone plans doesn’t budge you then hopefully this review of their Stellar Customer Service will! Just doooooo it!!!
Switching to Mint was a massive mistake. I switched to Mint Mobile from Boost a week ago and have regretted it ever since. 1. It is not possible to speak with a human, ever. They offer chat with an AI only or you can wait on hold to speak with a human (I’m on with them now - 25 minutes and counting, chewing my international, credits as I’m out of the country). 2. Their app is buggy. It declines payments repeatedly (PayPal, credit, debit, doesn’t matter), making it next to impossible to add International Credits. And no, there is nothing wrong with any of my payment methods - it’s all on Mint’s side. 3. Their plan rates are nowhere near as good as they sound on the surface. To get the rates they advertise you need to pay in advance for 12 months. If you pay as you go (which I did with Boost for 8 years and had excellent service with), their rates are markedly higher. 4) I clicked the box saying “enable auto payments” in 3 months when my current plan ends. I changed my mind ten minutes later and deselected auto payment. The app keeps re-enabling auto payments in my account every time I close out of the app. That’s a big and a thieving one at that. So, buggy app that makes payments cumbersome (that’s if you’re lucky - they’re impossible when you’re not); no ability to speak to a human EVER; limited use AI Chatbot; plans that are nowhere near as good as they advertise. I will switch back to Boost as soon as I return back to the USA from Canada in a few days. Mint, you’re awful.
Disappointing Customer Service. Service agents never veer off scripts or checklists limiting ability to address the root cause and simple solutions for service and technical issues. Nearly a dozen phone calls and twice the Mint Mobile agents and technicians whom each time had us start troubleshooting from the beginning of their script/checklist rather than pick up where we left off from the call prior. Tech, agents, and supervisors all contradicting each other from call to call rather than coming up to speed with the notes from our previous interactions. In short, paying for service we are not able to use with one of our phones (3+ weeks thus far); not standing behind their confirmation that one of our phones is compatible; and not receiving 3 referral incentives I shared by link to family. That’s not to say that the representatives were not friendly or polite (except 1). In fact they were very pleasant. But inflexible to offer solutions that were both in best interest to the customer and to the Mint Mobile brand. Unfortunate. Forced to sever 4 customer relationships with the brand despite the very appealing connection costs. PS - Service slower during peak hours and more blackout zones which I experienced rarely with Verizon but those inconveniences were offset by the lower costs for me until I needed actual customer service issues addressed and rectified.
T-Mobile- Putting The U Back In Screwed. It’s almost comical that you can enjoy the top tier wireless service from T-Mobile, through Mint Wireless for pennies, without the hassle and thievery perpetuated by T-Mobile in their typical day to day operation of their own network. In the 4 months that I did business with T-Mobile, I experienced countless misrepresentations by their employees, no oversight of their retail operations, arbitrary rules and restrictions and straight up fraud with their additional charges for changes to your plan, “mid-cycle”. (Any change that takes place beyond the very moment of sale, before or after, is mid-cycle) My monthly bill went from $75 for the $55 plan, to $385 each month (6 lines i didn’t need, 2x i watches stated to be free but were not, 1 new iphone 16, stated to be free for 2 years my girlfriend used their service but was not, and then a half price i phone xr, that was billed at full price, all bundled in a 24 month contract). i waved them a gesture and ported over to Mint.
So much better than Sprint. I left Sprint shortly after getting married. After getting married, this is probably the best decision I ever made. Mint is made for people. It isn’t contracts and penalties and nonsense fees and ridiculously confusing plans. It’s simple. I went out of country and was worried about international data. Guess what? It’s simple to but some international data in the app. And it doesn’t ever expire. Already leagues ahead of other carriers. Not to mention, it is affordable. Especially with the referral system in place. I referred my wife, my brother, and my cousin. I am already up to $190 of referral credit (based on some special offers from Mint). Additionally - they got great service for cheap, and 3 months of free service with their new plan. Everyone wins. Them, me, us, Mint. The new update also made an already great app even better. You can now easily swipe your data usage to the side to see how much hotspot data is left. The app is simple, and it’s great. You can easily message through the app to customer service, which is great. Who loves being on hold? The service is in the Sprint and T-Mobile network, the access to 5G is an awesome boost. I never have problem with service day-to-day (I never did with Sprint either). I’ve had some issues during travel, but overall, nothing problematic. One of the absolute best decisions I ever made. Whenever anyone asks me about Mint, I smile and share how much I love the service. That’s not only rare with phone carriers - it’s literally unheard of. Unless Mint decides to become very Un-Mint (meaning not awesome) you would literally have to drag me kicking and screaming back to a major phone carrier. Thanks, Mint! And appreciate the update for easy hotspot data monitoring. Makes the customer experience that much better.
Mind blown. Incredible customer service who are actually people who care about your issues and act like humans instead of script readers. I had a wonderful conversation with one of the reps and had a good time while taking care of my service issues. Long story short Verizon sales reps tricked me into buying a phone with a down payment. Figured out it was only a down payment on an iPhone SE gen 3. So I owed money. Anyway, when I paid the next month it off I had to wait 60 days to have the phone unlocked. Which brings us to today. Mint did more for me in one day than Verizon has done in 3 months. No more paying $80 a month for phone service while not even being able to have access to my phones built in WiFi hotspot. $20 a month, and I have the full set of phone features, I can’t see why anyone would go anywhere else. Mint also sells current generation phones on their website as well if you want to skip the middle man phone wise. The phone number transfer process is generally easy and could be more simplified by other name brand carriers but mint will make sure it’s an easy and fun process as much as they can. 5 stars for mint and 5 stars for Ryan Reynolds. Can’t wait for Deadpool 3!
Too good to be true- But it’s true!. When I told my sister about mint Mobile, she said it was too good to be true and I told her it’s true because I’m a witness! I was draining in over payment with Verizon. Had been with them for 4 years and when I calculated my total expenses, I froze! I was not even on a contrast Phone but it felt worst than having a bad credit and paying high interest rate on a loan. Crazy thing is; they unapologetically keep going up on my phone bill. I started shopping for new services and I read about Mint. Thought to try it. I tried Mint Mobile with my second phone for 8 months. I mean, a network that is 100% better than Verizon. I woke up one day without further concerns and transferred my second line to Mint. I followed the instructions that came with my new SIM. I did my swapping through the Mint app as advised. It was very straight forward and in less than 2 mins, it was completed. Now I’m fully Minted! I’m free from Verizon prison. I like the unlimited plan with Mint and that I can pay 3,6, even 12 months and go to sleep. I have cut down on my phone Bill by 60%. The best part is… Mint mobile network is super-fast and reliable. Though they don’t have add-ons or combos services i.e Tv services, Apple Music etc. But I’ll stick to Mint all the way than allow Verizon drain me to an untimely death. Thank you for being a Life saver, Mint! N/B: If you’re reading my review and you live in GA, search no more and take it from someone who don’t write reviews… This network service is absolutely great, you won’t regret using Mint.
Worst customer service of any I’ve had the displeasure of dealing with!. I’ve had mint since October of 2021 without any issues until now. I switched from a 13 pro max to a 14 Plus and have been fighting with customer support for the last 10 hours just trying to get an E sim. I’ve reinstalled this app countless times, factory reset the new phone twice, reset network settings, and everything else under the sun, just to have to sit on the chat support screen for 20 minutes before getting any response, only for them to speak to me like an idiot and ask me to repeat the exact same steps the prior 5 support agents asked me to do, even when I show them screenshots of my issue and prior chats with their techs. One support agent when told I’ve followed the exact “fix” he asked me to do over a dozen times, asked me to just do it again anyways and try the chat screen again after the process if it didn’t work….. another 20 minute wait just to be asked to do that again. How hard should it be to get an Esim to activate a phone line?! The “order a replacement sim” option on my account just tells me “this function is not currently available, please contact mint care if you’d like to continue” yet their “care” is utterly useless! At this point I may just cancel my service and move to Verizon!
No Single-Month Plan & Weak Signal. I wish there was an option for a single month plan. I was looking for a single month plan for my partner who is going to visit here from the UK for a MONTH. Unfortunately, I am not going to pay a 3 month plan even it’s just only a month. I’d have to look another service instead. After almost three month of using this Mint Mobile service, this signal strength is very weak. I’ve been turning my iPhone off and on to see if it makes any difference. Sadly, no it is still the same. I am legally deaf myself and I’ve made video calls (FaceTime, Zoom, etc.), however, I can not see users signing due to a poor mobile connection. I can’t make any video calls when I am out of the house. So, I’d have to wait until I get home to connect to the WiFi for a better connection. It’s very frustrating. I had no problem with making video calls from the previous service. I feel like this service is great for those who like browsing, checking emails, texting. Not for video streaming, video chats, and other things that require a strong connection. This service is great for saving money, but with this signal strength, it is just not for me. Sorry, but I have to switch to a different service after my plan ends.
Mint Vs Tello. I do like Mint a lot. They have great and knowledgeable customer service, the phone service is great and I have never had any major problems that wasn’t fixed as soon as I reached out. The issue I have with Mint is they limit the tethering/hot spot on their unlimited plan to 5 GB. This is where they have a major disadvantage to Tello, who is on the same T-Mobile network as Mint. Although Tello’s “unlimited” plan is 25GB, you can use the entire 25GB on hotspot if you wanted to before you are slowed down. That’s the way it really should be. Why would Mint want to limit that to a fraction of what the customer is purchasing for a data plan? Additionally, on RedPocket’s 100GB plan, they do not limit how much of that you can use on the hotspot if you chose to do that. You could use the entire 100GB on hotspot. It’s unlikely that would happen, but at least they give you the option, unlike Mint. After all, YOU are paying for the data whether you use it or not. It should be YOUR choice how you use it. Mint did point out that they only limit 5GB on their unlimited plan whereas on the other plans you can use more. What?? Doesn’t make sense to me to limit the hotspot plans on the more expensive plans and then allow more hotspot data on the LESS expensive plans. Are they in business to make money?
Horrible customer service. I got my phone replaced. There was an issue transferring my eSIM to the new phone, so I had to get a replacement. My email wasn’t working either, so I had to change my email with mint. Due to the email change, I had to verify my account which takes a 8 hours. I’ve spent 3 weeks without service trying to resolve my issue, because the verification process requires me to know how many times I’ve gotten a replacement sim. I don’t have access to my old email, I don’t have access to my mint account, and the support team filed for a bunch of replacement sims in this process, so I had no way of knowing the answer to the verification question of how many replacement sims I’ve gotten. I failed several verification attempts because of this, and each support person took me through the same process over and over again with the same result despite explaining the whole situation every single time. Finally, a manager was able to verify my account and send me a physical sim (my phone doesn’t even have a physical sim slot), and got my number activated 3 weeks without service later. Since I didn’t have a phone, I had to go to my parents house to make all these calls to their customer support. For the verification process, someone from mint has to call me. 6 times, I told them when I would be available, and they didn’t call. Then they called when I had no idea they would call, and since then, I was blamed for these issues for no picking up their call. After 20 minutes of trying to get my account details to transfer my number out of mint (the representative would not take no for an answer), I finally got my account details, but they won’t refund me for lost service or for the remaining period of my contract. This has been the worst customer service experience I’ve ever had in my life.
Add more data. I was so excited to leave T-Mobile after the took over sprint! I had been w/ Sprint since 2002 and loved that company! Excellent everything even w/ a little higher bill then I wanted. Then T-Mobile ruined that company! So ciao to them and ciao to Mint! Everything has been okay. I wasn’t real happy w/ their version of unlimited data but for the price I didn’t have a lot to complain about. UNTIL the last few weeks! Every single time I enter my card to add more data I have issues!! 98% of the time it’s declined when I know, for a FACT, I have $$. I’ve called my bank and they can’t explain it. I talked w/ customer service and she couldn’t explain it either. She did say she would contact tech support. I was very appreciative BUT still having the same issues. It’s very irritating! So now, I may have to change because I cannot get my card to work on their end. If anyone else is having this issues or if anyone knows if I’m doing something wrong, please let me know. I am just exhausted dealing w/ this. Anyone reading this- honestly it’s not a bad company IF you can get it all to work right.

Good coverage simple and cheap but kinda confused about the new rates are new customers getting lower rates while exsisting customers are getting stuck with the price they signed up with if thats true thats not fair in this case right in the Bible hey if people choose Jesus Christ at the start of their life or on their death bed just rejoice they chose Jesus and you’ll see em in Heaven through Christ alone but as for this pricing like if u started out cheap and people kept that price cause they are originals or get the better deal cause you were with the provider longer but to switch that would be twisted for example bob has been with mint since the startup and pays 45 bucks a month for true unlimited and pays 135 plus tax cause u can only buy atleast 3 months at a time, so than alexa joins mint 3 years later and her everything plan is 90 bucks plus tax for 3 months meaning she only pays 30 plus tax every month to mint mobile/provider, meanwhile bob signed up with that 135 plus tax and it never goes down for him that rate locks in but in this case for the worst not for the better so I just gotta understand when Ryan Reynolds was talking about that 15 a month everything deal why wouldn't existing customers automatically be switched over to that with a friendly text letting them know your congrats rates lowered your next auto withdrawal will actually just be 90 bucks plus tax hope this made your day- mint mobile anyway im confused please text me last four of cell#9066 and clear this up.
Five Stars for the service, one star for the app.. I switched to Mint Mobile about six months ago. It’s pretty great, very few problems with reception, and obviously, the price is about a quarter of what I was paying before. I have plenty of data for my needs for that rate. But their app is a hot mess. it crashes upon start up pretty much every time I try to use it the first time, half the time it tells me I need to update before I use it, fine OK, I do that, then I try to login, and for some reason, my password is always wrong, so I have to get a text from them, which usually takes 30 seconds to a minute to get - most services are instantaneous so that weight is frustrating if you need to check something in a hurry. Also, the app is mostly ads which is a personal pet peeve you login in the first thing it wants is hey don’t you wanna change it to automatic payments? And don’t you have any friends who would enjoy this service? And I’m like dude I’m just trying to see how much data I have left this month. Anyway, as I said, I like the service a lot, but the app is a mess. Don’t use it if you can avoid it.
Mint customer service is a nightmare..app is ok. I have had consistently had issues with mint customer service – I paid for my daughter’s three month phone plan over the phone, and somehow was also charged for a one-year phone plan as well. When I called back to get a refund for the one year phone plan that I did not want, they agreed to a refund quickly, which I appreciated. However, once they refunded my account, they canceled my daughter’s phone service, even though I had also paid for the three month plan and that had NOT been refunded. When I called back to get my daughter’s phone plan reinstated, not only was their phone service terrible and I could not hear the operator and had to call back repeatedly, but they claimed they have refunded my three month plan, which they absolutely have not because it is not in my bank account. I am very frustrated with this company and their issues and the consistent problems I have had. The app only works part-time – if you forget your password and need to reset it, the reset links NEVER actually send to your phone or email. You have to call the customer service line and have them reset it manually. Which takes a lot of extra time. Overall, I am very frustrated with this company, and, if it weren’t for the prices, I would probably cancel and switch to another company.
I tried, they failed. I would not recommend. I kept hearing about this company and decided to give them a try. I prepaid 3 months, they sent me a SIM, I activated the SIM, ported my number over using a transfer PIN, and setup the app. I followed the instructions and my mobile number was transferred over. A confirmation was received from both my previous service provider However, I did not have any service. Being I could not make calls or text messages, I attempted to leverage their chat for troubleshooting. Their system was constantly problematic and/or their team would ghost me. I ended having to do a WiFi call with my sister in another state to call their support line. They were equally as unhelpful. I even had to fight to obtain a transfer pin and my account number, completely giving up any hope of activating my phone with Mint. This activity cost me a half day at work, a missed appointment for an x-ray, an activation fee to reactivate with my previous provider, and a lot of frustration. I am glad to see others have had good experiences, but I just cannot see how they overcomplicated what should have been something super easy. I even provided alternatives to remediate the issue after their proposed solutions kept failing. They wanted nothing to do with it.
Would give it -5 stars if I could. This is the worst company I have dealt with in a while. They are just full of lies! Ordered a plan to try out, because I saw they promise a 7 days full refund tryout period. Their service didn’t work for me so decided on the 6th day to cancel my service and request a refund. They have declined my refund. Called them again, have been promised that I will receive the refund as it was a mistake from their end, got declined again. Spoke to a manager, who read all the notes of my issue, he apologized countless amount of times and agreed with me that I am in the right, and promised me that it will be taken care of. After he escalated the issue, with all the notes and screenshots, they still declined the refund. So they just stole my money and they are a company full of lies! Don’t trust them! It is my second terrible experience with them! I already have friends that switched from mint just because of this experience! You might as well pay an extra $5 or $10 a month, but you will get a better service with a different company, and for sure better customer support and they will make sure to help you, unlike those liars! This is why they take the money up front, so that they can decline the refund and steal peoples money!
Had Mint for Several Years Now. I’ve had Mint Mobile service for years now. The service has always been very bad when out & about, but I’m a recluse that stays home on my WiFi, so the cheap service has been fine. Recently they made some changes & now every time I open the app to check my family’s data usage or make payments it doesn’t recognize my phone & makes me jump through hoops to prove I’m me to access my info! I’ve had this Mint service on the same phone & SIM for years. I’ve contacted support several times & they always tell me something different & it’s always nonsense. The last guy said the app wouldn’t recognize a user if you logged in on WiFi & can only open the app in Mobile mode. What is that ridiculousness?? The service is so bad, I’d rarely be able to access it & at my rural residence, there is ZERO mobile service, so this company now says paying consumers of their service cannot access their app, which is the only way I get data or payment information! Also, do be aware that if you pay annually, you cannot get a refund after the initial 7 days after payment, even if months in they break their app & restrict access to your essential information.
Definitely will refer. We have tried the Walmart family plan, and a few other companies. The one we stuck with the longest has been Verizon. We were on the prepaid plan and paid almost $100 a month for both phones (both of which didn’t have I limited internet). The customer service was TERRIBLE due to us being prepaid. Verizon was rude and crabby when we’d call in and it got old. We accidentally found out about MINT due to Ryan Reynolds. After looking up if he had any current movies we saw he had a phone company. We looked online and loved how sarcastic and humorous the website was. We checked into the places we went and found they had service in the area. After trialing the 7 day card we decided to make the jump. My husband has the unlimited plan and I have the 4 GB plan. We were able to transfer over our numbers and keep our phones. It was a very smooth process. I love the price we are paying and that he gets more internet that I hope he needs. we’ve also found that in some areas we previously had issues with internet (example is our Tin shop) we now have full bars. Not sure how or why were able to have access to internet but I’m not going to complain. Absolutely love the company. 100% would recommend.
BEST PLAN EVER!. So I literally JUST got my sim and activated it. The process took no longer than 10 minutes. Honestly, the customer service part with my old carrier took the longest. But as soon as I correctly entered my pin, account number, and billing address, this was LITERALLY THE SMOOTHEST PROCESS EVER. Mint said it could take a few hours for the number to transfer (and up to 48 hours). But it literally took no longer than 5 minutes from the moment I entered everything and let them put in the transfer request to have my number activated with MINT. And it automatically cancelled my T-Mobile account (bill was paid up to date which made it easy) which was WONDERFUL because I don’t have to talk to customer service to do it! I was BLOWN AWAY by how fast it happened. Literally jaw dropped. I’m definitely going to update in a month or two about how well the service is for the plan, which I’m sure it’ll be phenomenal. For the record, I was paying $85 at T-Mobile. This is definitely a game changer and money saver. I used to work there too which is why I was agonized over the thought of talking to customer service for the account cancellation. Literally, I’m sold with Mint already!
So disappointed. I’ve had mint mobile for a year now. Used to rave about their service and recommend it to everyone. Not anymore since my phone broke I ordered a new one and didn’t get it for over a week when the delivery time was 4 business days max. After a week of waiting I called customer service and three different people on three consecutive days told me it will come tomorrow. Never did. I ended up asking for a refund and re ordering the phone to pay for overnight shipping 20$ extra. I did not get it overnight it came two days later. At this point I’ve been without a phone for two weeks while the service I paid for was just passing by and they can’t even put a credit on my account for the inconvenience. I’m so happy to get my new phone so I call to activate it. I spend over an hour with some guy whom I have a huge language barrier with making it ten times harder to get things done. He runs me around in circles for over an hour just to come to the conclusion that my phone is not compatible with e sim and the blank SIM card they sent with the phone is not going to work if I want to keep my old phone number. He said I’m going to have to pay for a replacement SIM card. I say ok fine that’s fine please let’s get this done. Three days later I haven’t gotten anything in the the mail so I’m actually on the phone in this moment just to be told that the last guy never Processed the order for the replacement SIM card!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Broooooooo I’m so over these people they’ve been no help and I’m going to stop service with them when my 6 months are up.
Advertised price is ONLY for NEW customers. Changing phone can cause you to lose your number.. Advertised price is ONLY for NEW customers. Yep, you will pay DOUBLE to renew. SURPRISE! Changing phones can cause you to **lose your number** & have several days without service even if you have time left on the plan. I made the mistake of buying a phone on the site along with the esim card. The phone arrived locked, with a standard SIM card. (Not compatible & not what I ordered) Tech support sent an email to “The Back Office” to update or help. I had No phone service during the 2 day waiting time. I knew my plan was a about to expire at the end of the month when I ordered the phone & new esim at the beginning of the month. I made the mistake of ordering from their add & not in the app. I am again without service while I wait for a back office to grant my wish for a credit to my mint account for the $$ spent instead of reimbursing my bank account & then pay double what I just spent to renew a 6 month plan. I know now I have to pay double to renew as an existing customer or lose my number. Single mom, with a type 1 diabetic 5yo who gets her blood glucose number on the app in my phone. The down time has been a pain to say the least. Things I have experienced as a customer, you may want to be aware of.
False advertising and bad billing practices. This company advertises an introductory rate and states on the website that you can keep that rate if you renew for a year after the introductory period. THIS IS A LIE to lure you in to their company. You’ll find out that the price more than doubles when you go to renew. I’ve contacted the Department of Consumer Affairs regarding this. ** Also, pay attention to the fact that this company has NO MONTHLY PLANS, even though they advertise monthly plans and pricing. Plans are billed UP FRONT IN FULL quarterly, bi-annually, and annually ONLY. Taxes and fees are an additional charge (unlike every other pre-paid service where taxes and fees are included in the monthly price.) **The company states that it is easy to talk to a real person by calling the 800#. However, there is no option to talk to someone and pressing 0 results in the company disconnecting your call to them. **The ChatBot feature is useless and if/when it connects you to a real person, it is obvious that it isn’t a real person (or the real person typing is educationally challenged as the responses aren’t even comprehensible sentences.) When I finally reached a real person in both chat and by phone, no effort was made to review my complaint nor was my request for a supervisor granted.
Reasonably priced but non-existent customer service. Basically, Mint is a good deal with decent to good (never great) coverage & speed depending on your location. I’d be inclined to give 4 stars except for 2 problems: 1) primarily, live phone customer service is essentially non-existent & help must be reached through live chat only. Additionally, the official Mint SubReddit is populated by “Mint Defense Force” trolls & the forum is moderated by reactionary children who censor/ban anyone who offers even the slightest deserved critique of Mint. They seem more interested in sweeping problems under the rug rather than actually helping customers; 2) They have a legit eSIM problem. Unlike T-Mobile, for example, they don’t have a client side app to make eSIM switching simple/easy. And if you change eSIMs between devices more than twice per year they change you for every device swap. This is a major hidden cost. The bottom line is that if the service works for you it’s a solid deal vs the “Big 3” (as long as you don’t have a need/desire to switch your line between multiple devices). But if anything goes wrong with your coverage or eSIM transfers between devices then good luck. You’ll have to post on Twitter & make a ruckus (or just try to catch Ryan Reynold’s attention I suppose) in order to get anyone to help you. I’m undecided if I’m going to stay with the service after my 6 months are up next month, but I’m leaning towards leaving as the lack of responsive customer service is a real problem if anything goes wrong.
Joining Mint Mobile. Hooray! I’m so excited. I’m 74 years young and I have difficulty using the internet. Not because I’m stupid but because of medications that give me a hard time concentrating when reading and typing is difficult because my fingers are bent with arthritis and they shake a lot and I double touch letters. So I really need to talk to a person because it’s easier. In connecting to Mint Mobile my choice of carrier, I had a lot to go through. With the help of Marge, to first get my transfer pin from my previous carrier which took quite some time and then I needed more help from Sasha on another matter concerning the removal of old SIM card and installation of the new SIM card and helping me buy the insurance for my phone. We talked about the use of the 2nd SIM card and I know just who it will go to and I get a special credit for that too. The two people I talked to were so nice and friendly. What made it nicer was the ability to talk to a live person at Mint Mobile. GO MINT MOBILE. I love you all ready! Typing is hard but this review is worth it.
DO NOT BUY A PHONE FROM MINT MOBILE. First I just want to say the phone service is spectacular and I have no issues with that and customer service is very helpful. However, when I decided to buy a Samsung Flip 5 for a friend the phone’s screen started glitching and now we can’t use it. So we contacted customer service via phone call and they just told us that they were going to submit a ticket and that we should receive an email with instructions within 24 hours but we never did. So we kept calling and we kept getting the same response “You should be receiving an email within 24 hours”. Now it’s been a month and a half and we tried speaking with someone higher up but they say that we’ll get a call back in an hour but never do. So our last resort was to contact Affirm and ask for help. I'm still going to keep my data plan because it is great but I'm never going to buy a phone from them again.
DO NOT USE MINT. I was going abroad for 3 months, so I called them first, the customer service. I asked how can I keep my number when I’m abroad. I got connected to this Filipino lady who got an accent (seems like the outsourced these people from low cost labor countries. I just recently connected to an Indian native too). She told me that I only need to purchaed an international package to keep my account running. I made sure she double checked, I asked her many more questions just to confirm. Now I cannot log into my app anymore, and when I talk to the Indian person mentioned above, she said my account is deactivated. I found out 2 things. One, the international package cannot keep your account running. Second thing, the period til deactivation is 60 days, not 90 days. Ok so I lost money buying that pack which I cannot use now due to my account being deleted. And I have to go through all the troubles of connecting with my old contact and setting up my new phone number. Like if you doubt that I was wrong, just think, why would I even purchase the pack when I knew that it’s not gonna keep my account active. Now I’m talking to the customer service again and am requesting an escalation of this problem to someone else. It seems like they dont have anyone who are more senior than these person, so my agent only refer to the other ones as “the other representatives.” So on one hand, this person is not able to take responsibility on behalf of Mint, while also cannot find anyone who could. Mint man… I’m genuinely disappointed. I guess cheap price does come with cheap services, as you can see they resort to these cheap laborers from third world countries.

Terrible customer service and technical issues. Mint Mobile might be cheaper than other phone plans, but it is not worth it. The eSIM activation link only works one time. If something happens (i.e. your Wi-Fi cuts out in the middle of activation, or you accidentally close the tab), you will not be able to activate the eSIM using this method. This happened to me, so I was on the phone with multiple people for an entire afternoon to find an alternate way to activate my eSIM and connect my two accounts into one family account. They helped me use a manual activation method for my eSIM, but after this, connecting my two accounts into one family account required usage of the Mint Mobile app, and this app refused to work for me. It wouldn’t let me create an account, so I had to create one through the website instead. But even after doing this, the app wouldn’t let me log into my account. I’ve never had any issues with SIM activation or family accounts with any previous phone carriers I’ve used. This process has always taken just a few minutes, but at Mint, it took an entire afternoon, and the experience was beyond stressful for me. The customer service was incredibly incompetent, and at times, rude. At one point, the customer service rep threatened to hang up on me. Please fix your technical issues and improve your customer service.
Stole my money. I just got off the phone with the “customer service” twice, because either their phone service is so bad it cut out or the guy just hung up on me. Over this weekend I purchased the 10g of hotspot so I could download a game I bought at my friends apartment. Only for it to never show that I got any hotspot and I still haven’t downloaded the game I bought. The customer support people on the phone just kept telling me that on their end it was “used” even though I told them that I wouldn’t even be on the phone with them if it actually was used at all. They asked if I actually downloaded the game, or it someone else was on the hotspot or if I accidentally left it on. To which I told them no to all of those. No one except for me was on the hotspot and I never leave it on and the game like I said still hasn’t downloaded. It’s actually just dlc for kings quest which is only a few gb so it would have only taken a few minutes to download. They very quickly turned my good mood into a bad mood especially by just repeating the same lines over again and not helping me in the end. Leaving me with no hotspot and 21 dollars taken for absolutely nothing also a waste of 40 minutes of time on the phone. Don’t get mint mobile they take money and might as well be robots on the other end of customer service. The service isn’t even that good anyway.
Overall good but number porting and esim pain. Got 3 lines on mint. First, new number, fine. Could not port AT&T phone number to this line because it was old mint acct. Why? Bureaucracy. So got new mint acct. Was able to port AT&T number and get esim. Hooray! Tried to get another mint acct to port another AT&T number. Learned that: 1. Esim transfer phone to phone is not possible to do on your own. You have to contact mint and it can take a couple hours on their chat line. Should have used sim card. 2. AT&T has so much fraud protection on number transfer (port) that if it fails, your number is in a weird intermediate state and mint points at AT&T and AT&T points at mint for the source of the problem. So therefore in that case, one just gives up. Ok the tech is too fragile for ez number transfer. Yes it works sometimes. But if you call AT&T, instead of fixing it, they try to sell you new devices and plans instead of fixing it. Do I want this hassle? Picture bugs bunny saying Noooooooo. Sorry mint, you have to complain to the FCC about this, it is above my pay grade and not my job. And your business model depends on it. Why should I waste hours on chat lines for esim transfer and number transfer? It should take 2 minutes. 5 at most.
AVOID IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR SANITY!. I had the very recent misfortune of joining Mint Mobile. The customer service is as aloof as it’s exiled Canadian CEO Ryan Reynolds. First off they use crappy Sprint/T-Mobile service so don’t expect any Verizon or AT&T signals. Now on to their thievery and fabrications. They offer 7 day refunds that they’ll never offer. After 4 days I demanded a refund due to poor phone service and heavy data drainage, used the same data use on a previous company and it didn’t pour like water like it does on Taint Mobile. They email me with details. I fill out the details and they ignore me. So I call them. The person on the other end named “Jason” threatens to hang up because I called them liars when he said there was no refund request on their records and then changes his mind and says the refund request was pit in ten days after. I tell him I have the emails from mint Mobile so he finally emails me under a different even faker name and I ask if it’s mint Mobile before I forward him the original emails. No response. I try to contact them on messenger. No response. It’s the equivalent of getting slimed every time you say I don’t know with Mint Mobile which ironically enough was the highlight of Ryan Reynolds career. Avoid Mint Mobile
This Company is a Scam!. I’m going to seek legal action if I don’t get a full refund. I requested a refund the same day I paid. I was misinformed about the terms and conditions by the mint mobile staff. Then they say they’ll issue me a refund but did not email me the transcripts after I requested and did not issue me a refund. Im going to report this to the better business bureau and file a complaint and speak to an attorney. You can’t treat customers this way. You can’t lie then run off with their money. I hate you Ryan Reynolds, you’ve ruined your image by promoting a horrible ill informed, poorly trained and staffed over seas in India telecommunications provider that don’t know their own T&C’s and can’t give a straight answer when explicitly questioned about the specifics of balance and auto renewals. Giving conflicting information about how and when to carry over preexisting cellular numbers. Worst of all is the lying about promotional price carrying over when auto renewal is activated. Nobody could answer what the difference is between “promotional price” and “regular price” and when it applies if at all when renewed. I got different answers from multiple customer service agents. Then they lie about refunding me which I am entitled to per Mint Mobile Conditions well within 7 days of service. I’m cancelling the same day I started because they told me I could carry my number over but it didn’t work and they told me I could keep the price I started with then they said it would change to regular price after promotional price. I want my full refund. Now!
Horrible experience!!!. I really thought I would like mint mobile because I support the companies idea of having a phone service just like any of the big companies like AT&T, Verizon, etc. but at a fair price. And I like how the company has a easy going vibe and shows a sense of humor through their app and other means. And as far as their phone service and coverage goes I don’t have anything negative to say about it.. but as far as customer service goes the company lost all my respect. Every customer service representative was obviously from a complete foreign country and could hardly speak any English. I tried porting in or transferring my number from consumer cellular to mint mobile and I called everyday several times a day from for more than a week straight trying to get it done but no one could help me every time I spoke with my old carrier they would tell me that mint needs to change the transfer pin on the port request. Then I would call mint and tell them that exactly and every single time they would tell me that they were un able to do so and told me they would make a ticket and gave me a case # and said they would contact me in 24 hr and then 24hr would pass and I’d do the same thing all over again. It was such an exhausting, and unbelievably frustrating experience trying to do something so simple. I finally just gave up. I wish I could speak to Ryan Reynolds’s and get my money, and also all of the time that I spent talking to his company’s customer service representatives who can’t even speak English back!
I was super happy with them until recently. I’ve been using mint for about 2 years now and i have been super happy with them up until recently. Their plans are super confusing and impractical. I was paying for the 10 gig plan but it wasn’t enough so i switched to unlimited so i wouldn’t have to worry about using all my data anymore. I was using my hotspot for my laptop today like i always do and i got a text saying i had used all my hotspot data for the month and then my laptop said no internet and my hotspot would no longer work. i went on the app and chatted with an employee asking if there was any way i could buy more hotspot data and they said no and that i would have to wait until my cycle renews. why do i pay for unlimited if it’s not actually unlimited?? so now i can only use my laptop for one week a month and i just have to wait until the data renews to use my laptop again. i’m super upset. this is completely impractical. why can’t i pay for more hotspot data?? how am i supposed to use my laptop when i’m not at home and have no other wifi options??
A little frustrating at first. Took 2 days to transfer my number and several calls to customer service. If you enter any info incorrectly during the transfer process you have to call customer service to cancel the transfer and re-initialize. Took several calls to figure this out and until someone who knew what they were doing. After the transfer was complete the app was not syncing saying my number transferred and providing up to date account info. Another call to customer service resolved the issue. If this happens uninstall the app and reinstall. Representative Mark issued a temporary password which allowed me to log in. After all this everything seems to be working fine. I was the test and at that point I transferred my wife’s phone. Hers transferred in a matter of minutes and was up and running. Posting this review will hopefully help anyone else with similar issues. 4 stars for the initial hiccups. I’ve placed several calls and so far call quality seems slightly better than republic wireless. Might be switching from a 5 year old phone to the iPhone SE. So far happy and saving $5 per phone per month over republic with paying for a year in advance. With republic I was paying $25 each month for 1GB of date and Mint it’s $20 for 10GB. I do like how mint has a customer service number while republic is chat or email only.
Credit card over phone problems. I have used Mint Mobile for a year and no complaints. I tried signing up for mint Mobile home Internet and I had to spend a half an hour on the phone trying to get all of my information tied from my phone account to the home Internet account. At the end of this half hour my credit card was declined multiple times and I never received a fraud alert or email or pending transaction or decline transaction. I contacted my bank and they don’t see anything. I called back and talked to a different representative again for half an hour. The same issue occurred. Why can’t Mint Mobile figure this out on the app to be able to tie the two accounts together? This was so frustrating. I ended up buying three months at an introductory price and did not get the $10 discount over the three months that I would have gotten. the representative then asked me if I would want to refer anybody. Why would I refer someone to go through this same trouble? I wasted an entire hour and didn’t get the discount even though I am a current customer. I’m very disappointed. Once I get the modem and call them back yet again, they should be able to tie my accounts together, and then I was told that when I renew for the next contract that I will be able to get the discount. This is almost too much of a hassle. Maybe if a customer service representative cared enough, they could fix this issue and have my account credited $30 since I completely qualify for this incentive and the fact that I was wasted an entire hour on something that would’ve taken me 10 minutes if they had the form online.
Excellent. For years I paid over $100 a month because I thought more expensive meant better service and better quality. Having been a Mint customer for about 1/2 year I could not have been more incorrect. This is one of the best money-saving moves I have ever made. To go with that, the customer service is miles better than anything I experienced as a customer of a big name carrier. For example, the Mint team made the transfer of my line from my old carrier to Mint effortless and stress free. They texted me an update when I had used 80% of my monthly data, just as a heads up, something large carriers never do until you actually use all of your data and it’s too late. The quality of data is also just as good as a name brand carrier. My phone still loads and sends at the same speed as it used to 6 months ago. The simplistic design of their app makes it easy to navigate and get the information you’re looking for as well. All of this just to say, I should’ve made the switch years ago and you can tell Mint’s customer base is extremely important to them. If you are skeptical of switching to a low cost carrier, I was too, but don’t be. It’s worth it and I highly recommend Mint Mobile as you go through the transfer process.
So far so good. Switched from straight talk. I had straight talk for probably 12+ years. It was generally OK but their customer service was horrendous. Also, my wife's card that was on file had been hacked on two separate occasions and straight talk was the only place that card was on file anywhere so we knew it had to come from them. my wife switched to mint about five months before I did. She doesn't use mobile data near as much as I do so she gave it a try first when she got a new phone. After she was satisfied with it I decided to go with it. I've been really happy so far. my biggest concern is coverage. We go camping from time to time and when we camp in the fall, I stream college football games. So coverage is important. Know some of these areas we go to like in southeast Ohio, coverage is very spotty so I don't expect good coverage at these places as nobody has it, but it still needs to be as good as I had before. The jury is still out on that one, but so far I am very happy I switched to Mint Mobile. Coverage has been great, the cost is phenomenal, and I have had zero issues. Customer service has been stellar so far.
Glad I switched from AT&T. I was really apprehensive about switching from AT&T. I had been a customer with AT&T when they first started as Cingular Wireless in 2002. My bill kept increasing. I had 4GB a month and I was paying around $45 each month. This past February when my cycle started over I got a text message 2 days into my new cycle saying that I was about to reach my limit. Which was ridiculous because I had been at home using my wifi when my cycle started. So there was no way this was possible. I called them and the supervisor really didn’t have an explanation. He credited my account $20 so that when I reached my data limit that credit would be used to add more data to my plan. From then on I would check my data usage every morning. Because I constantly worried that it would happen again. Which it did again in May. My husband had been a Mint customer for a year and had no issues. So I decided to take the leap in June. I did have a couple of mishaps at first. I switched on a Sunday and was told the wrong information that my phone would be working in a few hours. Which it wasn’t. Called in and was told that the department that handles the switching over was closed on Sunday. So I was without a working phone for about 12 hours. Once that got handled on Monday I haven’t had any problems at all. So in general I am happy that I switched carriers.

Wont refund me. Started a new plan, got Covid and wanted to quit and get a refund , made no calls and despite trying to get a refund that was promised, money never turned up… they have no email no customer service number to follow up …. I’m going to forfeit money and walk away.
Don’t get Mint if you go overseas. Everything they say about Mint working overseas is not true. I purchased Mint because I was going to the British Virgin Islands, where claims to have service. One of my phones had full service but my Mint mobile had zero. And when I spoke to support they said “…yeah sorry the problem is you’re overseas so it sometimes just doesn’t work overseas.” Seriously!

Worst connection quality you can get. Just like any other eSIM provider they are using the cheapest connection providers available probably to maximize their profits (or because these are the only one wanting to do business with them) I’m in a city with the best internet in the world and self driving cars (San Francisco) and I’m having the worst connectivity ever. Other eSIM providers unfortunately share the same issue. So I recommend just getting a local sim. Setup was easy and the app is intuitive. It is also quite cheap compared to other providers. However, the amount of connection issues I’ve had are just not worth it. Especially when you’re traveling and trying to find your way around

Not great. App would not work at all for quite awhile- tried deleting and reinstalling - could not activate e sim or physical sim on other phone- could only do via phone call - told to turn off wifi to get app to work- does work now but hassle and could not buy plan after trial until phoned

Signing in. I am a Canadian who uses Mint while in Florida 6months of the year, but pay for one year in advance so I can keep my number. Well, I am trying to sign in today and Mint does not seem to work with my same phone number or my password. Don’t know how to get this cleared up.

No longer recognizes any zip codes that worked yesterday. Update. App keeps saying there is no coverage when trying to activate. Meanwhile the maps app shows me in a coverage area on Mints coverage Map. When calling in to activate I enter my zip code, or any zip code and it hangs up. This is one of Ryan’s jokes I’m sure, just not funny in anyway. Then, if you try to reach someone by phone, they are in a Philippines call centre and are programmed to a script and take a half hour to get the point and then they can’t help you. Sorry Ryan, this is lame. The app worked until it was updated and was able to activate. Now won’t recognize any zip codes I put in. The network and service works fine on my activation. Same issue on 2 phones.

Internet/telephone connection. The connection is so bad that I can rarely use my phone. People I call always complain “every word is breaking up”. Internet is the same. Extremely slow and hard to pick up more than 2 bars. Very disappointing.
Refer a Friend promotion. Mint is refusing to give me credit for referring a friend because the friend did not use the referral link that I sent him. My friend did not have access to internet so he connected by phone. Mint refuses to give me the credit because this protocol wasn’t followed; even though the friend informed the Mint rep that I was the one who did the referral. Mint confirmed that my friend indeed was a customer, but refuses to give me the credit as advertised. Have made contact with customer support with no resolution…Very shoddy service!

Bad coverage. I live in rural NC about 3.5 miles South of Waxhaw. I had descent coverage with Tracfone using an AT&T SIM card but when Verizon bought Tracfone they were going to force me onto the Verizon network which has ZERO coverage where I live so I was forced to find another carrier. I was told when I signed up with Mint that I had GREAT coverage at my address , which is where I am 90% of the time, and that’s what the coverage map showed. Everything was fine until my free trial ended and I ported my number. Now my internet goes out all the time PLUS even my ability to talk on the phone & text goes out quite regularly. When I called customer service, they ran me thru all kinds of procedures to supposedly fix the problem but 5 minutes later the problem went back to the same as it was. The second time I called, I was told the coverage at my address is NOT GOOD. I feel I was lied to & now I’m stuck for two more months before I then have to find another carrier.
WOW! Great service at a fraction of the price!!. I was a customer with many different big wireless companies for decades and with the last one I had before mint I was paying almost $120/month for one line and only 10gb of data. I took a chance with Mint since my contract with them was up and thought “if the service isn’t good (which was my only real concern), I’ll just switch back to the other company and sign a new contract.” Much to my pleasant surprise I’ve noticed no change in my service whatsoever! No dropped calls, no dead zones, no difficulty hearing people or saying “can you hear me now?” I just renewed and got 12 months of service with Mint for what I would have paid for 2 months with the other company. Mint is saving me $1,200 a year! My only regret is that I waited so long to switch!
Best cell phone provider ever!!!!. This company is absolutely incredible, It has better coverage than its top three ( well known ) competitors , believe me I had them all . Their is know way they can compete with Mint Mobile, I’m serious, not even close. For the ones who have them you know what I’m saying is true, and it’s hard to believe that everyone doesn’t have them, I know about the trade in gimmicks other companies have, so maybe that’s a reason, but I’ve never been happier with me ,and my sons cell service from Mint , and that’s when it was 30 bucks a month unlimited, I just signed my Dad up , and now it’s down to 15 a month unlimited everything. Unheard of. I love it, and plan on going nowhere.
Best Provider. I’ll be honest I don’t know much about phone plans at all, but I have seen my family members struggle to make ends meet for their fluctuating monthly plans and the frustration looks stressful. I saw an ad for Mint Mobile literally right when I was looking for an affordable phone plan for my new phone and its been everything I want and more! I had a problem with my data one day and so I called their customer service number and the guy led me on how to fix the problem. He made it so easy to understand and my data was back to normal in like 5 minutes! I love that they have this app where I can see how much data I’ve used and always remind me when to renew my plan. I don’t know how they got the price so low and the quality so good, but I’m enjoying it to the fullest. 🌸
Poor Service & Poor Customer Service. Waste of money. My service was great for the first couple weeks, then my calls were consistently dropped within 60 seconds, and I could not use data at all (when well within my limit). When going back and forth with customer service and even getting ignored at one point, I did everything to fix the service issue and it didn’t work. Then when I tried to get a refund I was denied and told their policy states I was outside of my window to get a refund. A horrible window of opportunity for a refund when the service becomes awful midway through the 3 months I bought and I tried handling within the second month, how can you not refund that? Don’t waste your time, the service is awful and they won’t give you your money back if you experience such poor service. You get what you pay for, but they could at least reconcile really poor service issues. If I could at least get my money back I’d be happy to remove this review.
Data Rarely Works After Initially Being Great. I can never get my data to work anymore and reaching someone in customer service has become impossible. Not sure if it’s related to T-Mobile’s buying Mint but when I initially tested Mint after a friend suggested it a couple of years ago, the data worked great. It’s rare when I’m not on WiFi that I can get email or surf the net, and I’m in a suburb of DC and not in a place with few towers. At a large event, forget about using your email, getting online and often even sending/receiving calls. And you cannot use FaceTime anywhere - you have to be on someone’s wifi. I just renewed my service this month and am sorry that I did. I have unlimited for 12 months and will likely just go to Verizon now since there are too many places my phone doesn’t work. We are moving away from a major urban area to a suburb of Charlotte, so I’m sure service will get worse. So disappointed because it started off great.
You get what you pay for. Had Mint Mobile for almost a year and the coverage was relatively good in larger cities but did not have any in smaller cities / towns. This was to be expected though, they tell you this within their Coverage map. We recently moved out of state to a location that was said to have had good to decent coverage, however, I hardly received any. Something to be wary of. The price was really hard to beat and I'm typically connected to wifi anyhow, which is why we've stayed this long. Ultimately decided to switch to another carrier to get better coverage and upgrade to a new phone without paying for the entire cost immediately. For those looking to make any cancellations, read the fine print thoroughly. We cancelled under the assumption that we could recoup the unused data from our automatic 3-month payment (had about 1-2 months worth of data unused). Come to find out that they will not refund any terminations past the 45 days upon the purchase even though you're paying for it monthly, quarterly, or annually depending on the plan you choose. Ultimately, you get what you pay for. Price is hard to beat, service / coverage is mediocre. Customer support is great / easy to get ahold of. Refund policy is garbage.
Bad customer service[updated] resolved. Bought a promotion for three free months and activated by phone since it wasn’t working on safari and I didn’t have the app yet. Even though I requested to keep my number it gave me a new one and abruptly ended the call. The next morning I called to fix it during tech support hours and a nice lady assured me I could keep the deal after she refunded me and deactivated my SIM card. She then transferred me to another person to get my deal and he informed me that the deal expired last night and there was no way to get it back. I asked, well what can you do for me? He said, I can sell you a regul ar plan. Frustrating. (Edit) Another hour on the phone and I convinced them to refund the first three months. Have yo give 5 stars for 6 months for $60!
Cheaper doesn’t always mean better. I came to Mint Mobile because it advertises service that is cheaper and just as good as, if not better than the other services out there. This is not the case. First, we signed up for three months at an intro price. They had advertised that they will honor your intro price for a year if you purchased one year. When I inquired about this, they told me no, despite their ads. Next, we got the cards, got everything setup, and the service is terrible, despite it saying we had awesome service in our area. If I try to use my network, it’s extremely slow and buffers a lot. When I’m at work, which is in a city area, I get one bar, and it tends to take up to five minutes of buffering before I can get to a webpage. I had the same phone with TMobile, and I never experienced any connectivity issues. I won’t be renewing my contract with Mint Mobile. Just because it’s cheap, doesn’t mean it’s good.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!. I’ve been with several service provider sprint, at&t, and T-Mobile. I worked in a phone repair store and offered other prepaid services , I must say MINT has been the best ! For the price you get it for how can you complain. The block plans are what made me intrigued with the company and what they offer . I was recently laid off from work and got tired of paying T-Mobile nearly $150 a month for 1 phone on the plan . So I unlocked my iPhone 8 Plus and got a MINT started card . I Tried it out for a week with their trial and I must say , I was getting the same signal strength and data speed as T-Mobile . So I got the 3 month $60 promo plan with 8GB of data . Besides watching my data usage, I’m used to unlimited data the overall of the service is amazing . I’m glad I made the switch and definitely will be referring a lot more people to the company .
I’m saving a mint with mint mobile. 4 phone bills a year or 12 you decide I love Mint Mobile the no bill every month chill feel it’s the perfect plan for people who are looking to save money anyway they can without having to sacrifice basic things like unlimited talk text and data with a hotspot and I pay my bill every 3 months and don’t have to sacrifice the quality of my coverage while I do it and switching was simply the easiest thing ever and choosing the e sim was convenient I had everything set up and ready to go in minutes I’m saving a mint with mint mobile and you could too it’s much better than the big box brand and who else gives you free service when you buy a device and pay for a couple of months up front and the service is sweet
Grate Value, but App Lacking Features. As of right now I am happy with mint mobile. I got a great promotion and I was able to get the phone that I want. The set up was easy and so far customer care has been helpful. However, the app is embarrassing compared to coming from Verizon. There is no two factor authentication. This lack of security is not even something that should be a second thought in todays day in age. Now it make be a setting someone in Mint’s website, but this should be right and center in the app incase something were to ever happen. For this reason alone I cannot give this app a five star. This is a major over sight, but besides from that the sim swapping on command in the app and that stuff up was painless for me. Just because Ryan Reynolds owns the company doesn’t mean you guys need to slack on other important issues. I know you guys can do it. Don’t let me down.
Porting tip for Cricket Wireless. In the Mint Mobile sim packet, there was a paper where you could write down all the info you would need to port FROM Cricket. One of the numbers you need is labeled “PIN#”, so I assumed they wanted my Cricket 4 digit pin, so that was what I put on Mint’s porting form. That’s incorrect. Cricket needs to generate a 6 digit porting number. But since nothing explains that, I incorrectly entered my 4 digit pin and got an error message. I exited Mint’s porting form and researched at Cricket, got my porting number from Cricket. Thinking all is well now, I edited Mint’s porting form, correctly entering the 6 digit porting number. Oops! Still no go. Because Mint’s app was stuck in limbo. Error message again. It said that I would have to contact Cricket to have them delete the port request (that had an incorrect porting number) and then it would go through. Called Cricket and they said no, They didn’t need to do anything, it is Mint that needed to CANCEL the port request so I could start over. Contacted Mint through the chat function and it was switched within a few minutes. Very fast. Text and calls working just fine. Just putting this here to save other people. “You don’t know what you don’t know!”
Love it!. I switched to MM hmmm… 2015?? Know why I can’t recall? It’s cuz I’VE NEVER LOOKED BACK!!! I’ve lived in the city & moved to the boonies. Reception is always crystal clear & never any complaints on the other end. Set up was SO simple even for a non-techie like me. As to payment, I opted for an annual hit to my credit card. MM has never ever abused the privilege & my cost has remained low. Once in a while, in conversation, someone mentions what they pay for phone service. Whether they’re bragging about their latest bargain or lamenting their escalating fees, I never cease to be amazed by how good I’ve got it with Mint. I’ve managed to convert a quite a few into becoming true believers; others mysteriously refuse vote in their own best interests. As a nation, we’re divided on many issues, but surely we all can agree on the desirability of excellent affordable phone service?!
Customer service. I have been a huge advocate of mint mobile for the past year and half. Up until now I have never had any desire to switch. Now I am possibly considering the idea. I lost my phone in the River, no big deal, I contacted mint support to get a replacement sim sent in the mail and then again after receiving it (due to not having a secondary phone to activate it with). My issue is this, there is poor English being used in the chat systems that does at times affect the ability to understand what’s being communicated. That’s coming from someone who themselves, is not exactly wonderful with grammar so I imagine that alone speaks volumes. On top of that, mint mobiles only means of verification is via phone contents or submitting a ticket. So if you find yourself in a position such as myself, and you don’t have a a secondary phone or another means of activation, you may struggle to get your phone activated again. When I contacted support the second time to express this issue, the representative set up a call back regardless instead of attempting to find another work around. My issue still remains unsolved with no clear communication, and no solid verification process in place. I am not one to do a back and forth game, if I don’t think a company cares; I will show the same respect by peacefully removing myself from their profit margins. 🫰
Mint is mint.. I am loving the NBC (no bill chill) lifestyle. It’s a no-brainer, well, actually a brain is required to function day to day, but you get what I mean. I am not sure what type of sorcery is being used l, but I did the math, and I am now paying $35 less per month for equal, if not better phone service from a certain 4 character phone company (not Mint, the other 4 character phone company). I just have one app suggestion. Can you awesome folks include a widget so that I can track my data usage at-a-glance? I know, it’s just SO DIFFICULT to tap on an app to see that information. If you don’t get that last sentence, then there is a chasm between us, a SARCASM (well, erm…. different spelling, um, yeah… you know what I mean, I think… I hope).
NOT UNLIMITED & causes dangerous gps. Mint mobile has RAVVVVE reviews so I tried them. I think they must be fake reviews idk lol bc I don’t understand . What a lie they’re unlimited plan is . I’ll admit the company cultures is fun to observe as a consumer and I love the Ryan reynolds persona and wish his endeavors w the company well . But I’m waiting 5 minute for web page loads , the GPS on mint mobile are DANGEROUS to me?? Can’t be productive as “it loads and loads and loads “, and they claimed “UNLIMITED”. Mint is NOT unlimited Mint is really a 40gb plan not unlimited like Walmart mobile truly is or cricket even had great quality these days but they tack on crazy $5 fees to pay bill online or for customer service abs $5 if day late when service should just stop if a day. I truly wish I understood how these ratings could be 5 stars when I don’t get 40GB restored for 3 more days, it says , and it says bc I “used 40gb for the month” - SO HOWW is it Unlimited?!?😭🤣😂 It’s NOT! And they want $15 for more data for 3 days left and I would have if earlier in month before I realized what was happening in frustration, most of the month it feels like, so I truly have no sense for what “the good days “ with mint are . Unfortunately a cheap plan that parades as quality but cheap as their price that they want 3 months up front for in a recession. I would have paid ? The 3 months up front ? If it didn’t almost kill me not working on the road ?!!
App and website not very good. I have had mint mobile for about 7 or 8 months. I like that I can pay for so many months at a time and get such a good price. I was living on the gulf coast when we got the service and all was fine. Except that the app is not very easy to navigate and you only get the fix it on chat unless you wait a while. After my first six months, I renewed for a year. Two lines. My account was not updated for almost two months on the app and web. I had to go on the chat area to get that fixed. Every time we went on the app it told me I was out of data. Well that is fixed for my phone and now my granddaughter’s is still on the old plan and payment is showing plan to renew on a date that has passed. Also, I moved to Ohio in June and I cannot get more than two bars no matter where I go. Sometimes it says No Service. I am frustrated.
Pathetic. I was EXTREMELY excited to get a different cell service after being with Sprint/ T mobile my whole life. I wanted to start to save money and have had heard great things about Mint Mobile. I purchased the service and canceled with Tmobile in pretty much 1 day. I did not realize that I needed to have the phone released because I bought it from them. It is now 10 days and I still do not have service to my paid off phone. T mobile says that everything is released and there are no issues with switching. When I did release they said it would take 48 - 72 hours and it has been 5 days. I have talked with 10 people through MINT and I still do not have service to my perfectly good Iphone 14 pro max. I have asked for a refund but told that it has been longer then 7 days and they can’t do anything about it. I HAVE BEEN HAVING ISSUES EVER SINCE I HAVE PURCHASED SERVICE! They should have notes on this and nothing has changed!!!!
Great App Almost Perfect but…. Great app mint mobile is almost the prefect service. But what I think would make it even better is if we could pay our renewal bill in bits an pieces before the date. Sure you can pay renewal ahead of time but it’s the full amount. I feel like especially for the 1 year plan unlimited plan this should be an option, instead of shelling out $400 come renewal date. I could be putting what amount of money have I towards that each month or and it either sits in my wallet or there is a separate option to chip away at that. For example I wanted to put $105 each month because I know I’m not the best at saving money but when I asked support if I added the money to my wallet would it go towards my renewal bill they said no.
Poor first impression. I’m 24 hours in to signing up and almost ready to quit. Not good instructions on how to sign up and activate, so I had zero service for 12 hours. Had to have customer service help me but had to I had a break at work because they didn’t open until 8am. Tried to use chat but a bot does the usual and gives you the run around until you ask for a human. Then it puts you in a queue with zero clue as to how long you’ll be in the queue. So you sit there for 5 or 10 minutes until you just give up. Can’t send text messages after being told I could. So as I see it I signed up for a phone company that doesn’t let you make calls, doesn’t let you text or send pictures until you jump through hoops to enable them; once you enable them you can’t use it anyway unless you call customer service, but only when they are open? I know it’s cheap, but I expected to be able to use my phone as a phone not a paperweight.
Data roaming. Mr. Reynolds, I am extremely disappointed in your customer service and your obscure rules. I signed up for a one year plan thinking you had great customer care and good approach to care about your customers. My plan included a pay per use for data roaming, you started a new data roaming plan which I think is extremely highly priced and canceled the other plan without informing me and your customers. We had an agreement and I paid one full year for that and you came and changed without even giving me a chance to cancel it with a prorated refund. This is very bad and unheard of. In addition I had transferred some funds to pay for the old data roaming plan and your customer service does not accept to refund. The funds are minor, but it’s a matter of principle. I am extremely disappointed and if this is the case I will never recommend nor renew my service with Mint Mobile. This is bad business and shameful to lock your customers after having them pay for an agreement you cannot keep. Thank you.
Cheap plans; terrible service, squirly app. Talk is cheap, so is the phone bill but there is hidden fees like the recovery fee I don’t love. I’ve been disillusioned. Note it takes the blood of your firstborn to get a customer service agent on chat (there is no store front). AKA they simply don’t respond until hours or once a day later. NOTE TO MINT: SPEND MONEY ON CUSTOMER SERVICE CHAT AGENTS AND/OR make the dashboard full with all possible information and options so it truly can be a self ran plan. If my expectations were lower to start (thanks Ryan) I would be much happier. Great referral discounts though. Tech glitches on the app sometimes I couldn’t login for weeks and would have to use desktop alone to access my info. But it works out, as long as you don’t need anything. I look ahead to improvements. But I’ve used cricket for unlimited w/ AT&T at $45 a month just fine. This works better only if you want to pay up in advance for cheaper rates.
Bad Service. Terrible cell phone coverage. The majority of the time the internet is too slow to use even with unlimited data. If you go over your allotted data, then they switch you to their EDGE coverage system; which is the system they used PRIOR TO 3G! Other companies are upgrading to 5G and Mint is still using a technology that is a decade old. If you attempt to buy an additional 5GB for $15 (huge rip off), make sure you do it the moment you go over your allotted data allowance. I was 6GB’s over my data for the month and I spent $15 because the phone is useless for work without data, and Mint told me I immediately used the 5 GBs within the minute I bought the data and would have to buy another 5GBs for more data. I spoke to 2 foreign support workers that could barely speak English and they both told me this was normal business practice for them. I eventually was put through to a supervisor that gave me my money back but this process took hours of frustrations. I will always go out of my way to tell people to avoid Mint.
Good prices, terrible coverage and customer service. We used mint for about 6 months because of the great pricing but our coverage was always poor. Internet was slow, calls would drop, but we put up with it for the good prices. Around the time our renewal was coming up we decided that we’d get a new carrier. We had just renewed with mint but switched carriers 3 days after renewal and asked for a refund from mint since they advertise a full refund if it’s within 5 days of renewal. My line they refunded for 80 dollars and I cancelled on day 5. My wife cancelled on day 3 and they would NOT refund her. They just keep saying she’s outside of the window, and even though I had receipts and emails to prove she was within it, and share those proofs, they still wouldn’t issue the refund. Stay away from mint, they are not honest, and their coverage is second rate, non-prioritized on the towers.
So excited! I recommend not porting your old number. I tried porting my old number, which was a big mistake, this is a very cheap service and it comes with the price of activities your new number glitching out and making you wait days after you’ve purchased your plan. When switching from porting old number to taking a new number, that took 4 days talking to customer service to work out. So having said that, just skip trying to keep your old number and enjoy the benefits of a cheap and good service. $25 a month for unlimited 10gb is insane and I can hotspot it to my laptop. No overage charges and slowed down data afterwards. T mobile service! Which is no Verizon obviously but for the price it’s amazing. Thank you Richard at customer service for being the only one who got it to work. Now that it works I’m so happy with it.
Best company I can work with.. I’ve recommended and got many friends onto this service. The ability to pay by the year is amazing. I save money and know what I need to choose. The data usage tracking and the recent addition of mint family has made it so much easier to keep track of others as well in my house. Data usages help me decide which plan is best for the best savings. I personally need the unlimited due to using 60gb a month but I don’t have wifi mostly. Others though they have wifi access so it helps us choose the right plans. The ability to manage everything through an app and not be locked into a contract is amazing. I love this app and mint. Mobile. Been with them for years and will continue to see the companies improvements.
Frustrated and cancelling soon…. I used this plus the hotspot on the unlimited plan, because I’m out of work and this was an affordable option. Without warning, I was out of data. I read the fine print and saw that unlimited wasn’t unlimited- ok that’s pretty basic. It also said that for $15 I could add 5 Gigs back on to last me till the next month. I left it for a couple of days, but with gps demands and application deadlines approaching, I decided to buy the extra 5 G. Immediately- nothing. So I turn my phone off and wait till the next day - still nothing - now I’ve called them and waited while they asked managers, and that 5 gig was spent *before* I bought it cause I had *gone over* so they will not refund me the $15 ( worth a bit more when you’re without a job) and I still do not have internet. I have to travel to free wifi to do basic things, and hope that I can find my way when I travel. I am very upset - I’ve learned my lesson - you get what you pay for 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻
Top MVNO provider. Full disclosure — I am no longer a Mint customer, but only because I live in an area that doesn’t have good cellular coverage from T-Mobile (their coverage maps are overly optimistic/generous). I’m a fan of MVNOs, and I wanted try out the Mint plan, as they offer a price point that is an outstanding value. I had some difficulty with the initial port-out, but that was caused by Sprint telling me that my phones were unlocked, which wasn’t true. After solving the port-out issue, we got to try out the service. Unfortunately, it wasn’t right for our family due to our location, but true to their word, they refunded my purchase. Kudos to Mint for sticking to their 7-day money back guarantee. If you are in an area with good T-Mobile coverage, and you have a T-Mobile (GSM) compatible phone, give Mint a try.
Doesn’t support eSIM Carrier Activation or eSIM Quick Transfer…. You have to finish setting up the new iPhone first, then open the app on it and go to Account>SIM Card>Change Device. Plus, you need a payment source to complete even though it’s free and you can’t add/autofill CC in app (should be a required feature). Not sure if I had erased my old iPhone and eSIM at the end of the D2D setup/transfer process as it asks if I would have been able to set it up on new iPhone. And after updating the app to latest version (2.2.7), it would not open/load properly, or at all sometimes (it takes about 15 seconds for Dashboard to load now). Then I received a text message that someone was trying to access my account from an unknown/unrecognized device/location. Tried contacting support via chat but no response for 20-30 minutes. And even though I described the issue they didn’t answer and closed the chat since I wasn’t waiting. Also, the UI is quite basic compared to US Mobile.
They are robbers. I will definitely not recommend anyone I know to use mint service. I started my plan two months ago and paid for whole year. The signal is below average, I always lose it somewhere in the basement and suburb area. The only reason I kept using it is their cheap offers. Now I found a better deal want to transfer, I asked service guy for the account number and pin, they seems quite cooperative. But after I transferred, they said I can’t get the refund because of some terms I signed. The easiest way to avoid losing money is to switch back to Mint and keep using it, that’s what I imagined. But they told me my whole account was deleted at the moment I transferred out, so all my money paid was lost somewhere nowhere in their bank account. So, I paid 240 for only two months usage and seems they don’t want customers retaining at all with their bad signals and services. Never never ever buy their yearly plan or you be be regretted!
BUYER BEWARE-ZERO STARS. This is an 11 year old business with an NR rating with the Better Business Bureau. They change data reception on a whim... up and down, to no service. Have had to make numerous calls in a day, on several occasions to try and get reception issues resolved for my prepaid service with this entity. The consumer has to fight to educate their support staff... as this is you’re only option to attempt at getting a resolution... but the problems persist. Their coverage map said great service before, during your purchase, and activation of prepaid service... then slowly (if you’re lucky) but surely your reception will diminish... especially when you fail to call (repeatedly, spending hours of your time, over days, into months when life/health/schedules permit) and fight for the service for which you already paid. When this entity does afford any of the service for which the consumer is owed, contact the Better Business Bureau that services your area. This is an option for obtaining a refund for those like myself, that are sick to death of this failing entity (their deceptive selling tactics, data reception manipulation, incompetence, programming mess, lack of restitution afforded to the deserving consumer, etc). Don’t buy into it, folks... cheaper, buy get the free, great reception, etc... I’ve certainly been regretting making that mistake, and am certainly just one of MANY!!
Ryan Reynolds got me for 15 bucks. my Verizon bill crept up to nearly $100 a month and one evening after spending about 20 minutes in a hold loop to fix an issue, I realized how much I despise my cell service provider. There are so many services I have that I don’t hate, I enjoy the ladies I bank with so much that I eschew online banking all together, just to see their smiling faces. not Verizon though- every interaction involves pain. so while watching a TV show about the Wrexham football club, I said to myself, that Ryan Reynolds doesn’t seem like he would actively try to screw me, he doesn’t strike me as a sadist, so I made the switch and I couldn’t be happier. I have not thought about my cell phone service in nearly 3 months and I feel like I was risking a lot because if Mint had sucked, it would’ve ruined all of those Deadpool movies for me. Make the switch. Be free.
Good reviews are earned. I cant honestly say anything bad about this service or the app. I have had my info leaked by ATT and been gouged by Verizon. Recently, I had a nightmare with Boost. Mint is like a shiny gold coin on the top of all its competitors. I hope they keep sane prices - would be my only concern. Overall, even customer service albeit overseas wasn’t terrible they got the job done. App is actually pretty simple and just seems to work. Security since Im a security and app engineer seems a bit weak and needs improvement. As mentioned above though in America now companies set the bar so low….Mint would have to essentially sell social numbers in order to fail security as poorly as competitors like ATT who also spy on their customers.
Love it so far! App could improve.. We were previously using Sprint/T-Mobile, and Mint has been 1000% better so far. I have liked being able to customize the plans to fit the needs of each family member. I do find the Mint family feature in the app could use some improvement. As a family manager, I would like to be able to see all of my family members usage on my dashboard and all of the plans that I’m paying for on the my plans screen. Especially since all of my plans renew on the same day, it would be nice to see actual totals for what I’m paying and whatnot. The information for my family members is currently buried in the app, which I find frustrating. But, that’s my only complaint, so still a 5-star product overall!
Satisfied Customer. I’am 100% satisfied with mint mobile switching was easy and transferring my number From at&t was smooth and I really love paying my for a full year as long as you enter everything correctly your number should transfer I was prepaid with AT&T and it took not even 5 minutes and my number was transferred I want to let everyone know I use to have a contract phone and I just got tired of having a high bill that seemed like it was going up so I went back to prepaid and then to mint mobile and I’m extremely satisfied and I hope it stays the it is and does not change I tell everybody I can to at least check mint mobile out and decide for themselves if they want to switch
Worth the change. I was a little hesitant at first...I have had ATT for years and was paying $165 a month for two phones for the unlimited plan. The only reason I had the unlimited plan was because of daughter who is constantly watching videos on her phone. Well my daughter now has her own plan so it was time to start shopping for a new plan. My girlfriend has had Mint Mobile for a few months now and loves it. So I decided to give it a try....what can I say. I am sold...never have problems making calls or texting. The data I use is probably no more than 6 gigs a month because I am always on wifi....and don’t really watch videos on my phone except on WiFi. Now I pay $300 for the whole year for 12gigs of data a month. How can I complain....money in the bank.
I’ve been with Mint over a year now and have little to complain about.. I love Mint because I have never had a issue with service access to the tower down like I did on Metro and Boost in the past and being left with no way to make a call or reach help if I needed it. Being disabled I need reliable service and Mint hasn’t let me down. My only issue is the Data my bill was just paid today (I meant to pay 3 mo and actually paid 12 months the positive side to my slip is I know I have service for a full year now!) and just being paid I should be good on my data and it’s showing LTE. That is my only complaint so have the data why is it showing LTE that never showed with others service until my data was getting low. However, I am able to use my hotspot however when needed for my tablet at times.
Challenging experience with mint mobile customer service. My recent experience with Mint Mobile left much to be desired. I had to reset my iPhone 15 due to coverage issues, and in the process, I inadvertently deleted my eSIM. Seeking assistance, I contacted Mint Mobile’s customer service, but my journey wasn’t as smooth as I had hoped. Initially, the customer service representatives were not particularly helpful. It took a considerable amount of explanation before they grasped the issue I was facing. Once they understood, they requested that I provide them with five numbers I had called within the past 90 days. Unfortunately, this is where my frustration grew. After diligently sharing the requested numbers, the system at Mint Mobile could not locate them. This left me feeling stuck, as I couldn’t proceed with reinstalling my eSIM. The inability of the system to recognize the numbers was a significant setback in resolving my problem. While I’ve had positive experiences with Mint Mobile in the past, this recent interaction was less than satisfactory. I expected a smoother and more efficient process for eSIM reinstallation, especially given that this service issue arose due to a phone reset. I hope Mint Mobile can work on improving their customer service process to ensure a more seamless experience for customers in similar situations. In the future, I would appreciate more effective and timely assistance in resolving such technical issues.
Horrible mobile carrier!!. To start off, they sent different SIM cards to refer to friends, acting as if my friends don’t already have their own preferred service, so I accidentally used a trial SIM instead of the paid one. I found out later, in VERY small print, that they even had a marketing question, “Why are there extra SIM’s?” on the order label, but I did not see it because it was minuscule. After that, it just went downhill. They would not let me add my phone number to the paid SIM because I had already added it to the trial, so I had to spend over 2 hours with customer service. Then, once we thought we had everything sorted out, the wifi and cellular quality itself was horrible! And, to top it off and what made my family and I switch back, they cancelled both of my sisters plans, just unexpectedly! Never again Mint Mobile!! Do not recommend to anyone! Rather spend more money and have working service!
Logging into your account is practically impossible. I’ve only been with mint since September. Prior to Mint I have only ever had Verizon (for about 20 years). It was difficult logging into my initial account and I had to talk to tech support then. I haven’t had a need to log into my account regularly because I prepaid for my plan. After trying to log in on the app tonight I encountered an issue where it was asking me to use my authentication app to login. However, that was part of my initial set up when I first got my account. Now, I can’t login online or into the app. I’m stuck in an infinite loop and customer support was useless. I called them and they claimed they couldn’t even pull up my accounts or allow me to verify it any other way. Waiting for “tech support” to get back to me. This is weird that I can reset a password and have it emailed to me to get into my own account. This is a rating about the app and not the cell service. Cell service seems fine. Customer service is kind of bleck.
Make the switch today!!. So let me start off by saying I work in a corporate cellphone store won’t say who. But think blue. I have been hearing about mint mobile a lot lately and have been thinking of ways to save money; so I decided to bite the bullet. I was paying over 180$ a month for two lines. I activated on the 3 month plan to start but will be going to the year. I already am in the works of paying the year upfront during my 90 days it’s that good! 5G coverage is fantastic and compares very well to the previous carrier I had (again think blue). I will refer everyone I know and some I don’t because this is too good to pass up on. Not to mention Ryan Reynolds ads are hilarious! Thank you mint for making 2021 seem a little brighter! Now switch today and start saving some $$$
Revised review; positive experience. I initially wrote a different review. To Mint’s credit, they responded and things got worked out with the issue I had with referral credits. The cellular service has been good as we’ve traveled and in our local area. A suggestion if you need support. You need to have something else to do while waiting for initial response, but found chat support more effective for my need, being able to be super clear in writing and conveying and understanding the issue I was having. And read all the fine print and follow protocols as you sign up or renew. It took multiple interactions, but was glad Mint resolved my issue, and the service is very cheap if you can buy the longer plans.
Disappointing. The price of $15 a month is a great lure. I wanted to cut back of the price of my current plan so I decided to give Mint a try. I live in a area that is somewhat mountainous so I checked out Mints Coverage Map. I pinpointed my exact location and found that it was supposed to have good. The carrier I left had excellent coverage in my area & I certainly miss it. With Mint I have to my WiFi service to get coverage. The service I receive is not good it’s horrible. I’m lucky to get 1 whole bar, some days my phone service registers at 1/2 a bar. Calls suddenly drop & sometimes a voicemail doesn’t even register until the next day. I really wanted to love Mint but unfortunately it is not working out the way I need it too. I only use cell service in my house, so it’s imperative that I get good reception/ reception. I never had a problem with my last network carrier except for high prices & the worst customer service experience I have ever experienced.
Unhappy customers 11/22. I was told by a mint rep that my plan was $15/month but I have a $40/month plan .. Horrible communication trying to get the issue resolved but they were only prolonging the time so they can say you are out the trial period. We have not even had the service longer than a month and I hate it.. they have $199 plus another $90 which would equal $24/month for twelve months for two service plan.. now even though they the plan is only correct for one of us; we experienced dropped calls, no service inside our home or in some areas where we have had service before with previous cellular carriers…. This looks as though they are offering cheap service but they are cheating customers and the customer service team are only getting paid to string you along so you fall outside the plan trial period.. But if you check our call in we have been trying to get operable service and plan… A company not living up to satisfying their customers..
Or as good as T-Mobile. Deceptive.. Ran out of high-speed data 11 days ago. Whatever "high/low speed data" is—good luck finding a readily available explanation anywhere. I always use only LTE/4G, because 5G is slow and unreliable (because of trash range and stability / reliability). Whatever not high-speed data is, it's garbage. Barely usable anywhere. All day yesterday (last day of cycle) it indicated that "tomorrow" is a new cycle, but it's 00:45 now and it still indicates that it's yesterday (same message) and speed is still not high-speed data. Am I gonna get my money back for this day? Restarted phone, refreshed network connection several times, same $h!t. Labeling any limited plan as "unlimited" is the same mental d!arrhea rampant in the mobile service industry. You could not do any business once your "high-speed" data runs out. "Unnecessary plan" is a joke. 60GB limit is laughable into today's landscape of podcasts, vlogs, media-rich web pages, apps, constant app updates, active background services and other data-hungry aspects of mobile devices. I suspect Mint Mobile will be absorbed fully into T-Mobile soon enough (which is always an intent of people who start companies like Mint Mobile). It's an investment game of the elite at the cost of consumers.
The Best Plan, always improving as they grow. In a matter of months mint went from service only to a full service including phones communication company. There a quick changeover was astonishing with a few bumps. All is good now. I got caught up the transition. It only took two months to resolve. But within those two months they went from not selling phones to selling a few then an array of phones. The phone came with an unbelievably wonderful plan. Otherwise I would not of waited. Got to say MINT Was well worth the wait. I’m trying to draft all my friends to help them save money. Ryan Reynolds as a spokesperson/owner partner, was an excellent idea. He symbolizes trust. Otherwise I would’ve demanded my money back when they didn’t produce for two months.
It’s perfect but. If you choose the 5g plan and you run out of high speed data I get it it will slow down but it’s non-existent on my phone. I am a very patient person, so like 45 min of waiting for the page to load for it to say page is unavailable is a little frustrating. I love the low prices thats what got me to switch! But it would be nice if we had the option to make payments towards the next plan we want instead of paying it all at once. The service is amazing! I have had to speak to customer service to apply my wallet credit to my bill. Everyone I spoke to was absolutely amazing super sweet and very helpful. That as well should be an option to put the money in our wallet and it automatically applies. But overall great phone company the best prices ever and you get three months free when you switch!
Why didn’t I do this sooner?. I was paying close to $100 each month to AT&T. I was skeptical at first because the price seemed to could to be true but decided to give them a try. I switched to Mint and pay a fraction of the price for better service. Mint also emailed me to let me know I didn’t even need an unlimited plan so after my first 3 months I switched to a plan that saved me more. I’m used to feeling like my wireless provider is always ripping me off, but Mint has given me a new sense of trust. I got a 12-month plan to keep the lowest price and it feels so nice knowing I only have to pay once a year. I’m telling everyone I can about Mint. I’ve never felt so good about my wireless plan. I just keep asking myself “why didn’t I do this sooner?”
Regret referring a friend. Personally, Mint is fine. Coverage is moderately better than my previous carrier. So, I refered my friend to it and tried to help him set up everything. Setting up Mint on my own phone was incredibly annoying, but I was hopeful my prior experience would make setting up my friend's phone easier. It was not. Oh my goodness was it awful the second time. Customer service was either unhelpful to too busy to respond. Something went wrong during the transfer and my friend was stuck without service from his old provider and mint for about 28 hours. His phone was literally in limbo. How is this even possible? Even as he got service from Mint, his experience was tainted. Mint became sononomous with annoying headache and he switch to Verizon as soon as he could. I understand that Mint prides itself on not having physical locations and hiring people in order to keep costs down. But there has to be a better way.
