Still the most amazing game ever. The graphics are beautiful, the game controls are wonderful & i’m not sure why some people have problems but mine goes to auto save. Play it it at least three times in the past year and it’s still amazing every time I play it! I would definitely recommend and since I love all their games I hope these developers come out with a new game soon!

Cute. It’s a cute, but somewhat lacking game. Atmosphere and art is phenomenal but gameplay is pretty bland. Not worth a ton of money; wait for a sale. Mechanarium is better imo. I suggest considering that instead, if you haven’t played it already.

Wait, where is my save?. I was super excited to play this game but I think it needs more clear menu icons and choices. HOW DO I SAVE?? I got the game today and it seriously is such an amazing concept with beautiful graphics. I played until I was half way through finding the keys and then I went to do homework. I got back and I was back at the beginning! I really don't want this to happen again because that it one of the most frustrating things in a game. Also, the sounds of the characters are a bit loud. Overall, I want to play this game for as long as I can but I don't want to risk my save being lost. I'd really like some clarification on how to save or an update if it doesn't exist. That's why I'm giving it 4 starts for now. Great job!! EDITED: it's about a week or two later and honestly I'm so annoyed. I really want to play this whole game but I'm always sent back to the very beginning when I was at part 6. Can anyone help me maybe tell me why this is happening or can you guys maybe try to improve that? Once that is fixed I would love this game but right now it's just frustrating and I can't play because I know I'll be sent back again.

Just bought it, already HATE it !!!!( !!! ). Another one of these extremely incomprehensible games with too much animation, zero logic & designed merely to frustrate The player into complete madness ! Every game should start off insanely easy to give The player The encouragement to continue to The levels where playing actually begins, instead of immediately urging them to quit. $10 already forgotten, deleting this monstrosity right now!

Not for Me. I tried very hard to like this game. It is so visually appealing and seemed like it would be calm and lovely and fun. The first time I opened it, I was frustrated because I just didn’t understand what to do. I gave it three more tries on different days and got through a few levels but ultimately just kept going up and down the same branches feeling trapped . . . and that no option was left for me to move on. Frustrating. Many seem to like it so I must be missing something. I guess this game is not for me . . . deleted.

Just love your smart ideas and pleasurable retreats!. All games created by this developer are so pleasurable. I always wish they were longer but know there will be other games and worlds to explore! So smart relaxing and really fun!

A little confusing for me. Ok gaming but I keep getting lost trying to find my way or get back to where I need to go. Lost interest in the game. Good game but not for me. Amanita nailed it with games like Machinarium and Samorost 3

Incredible Experience. The art style, plot, unique characters, and uplifting soundtrack makes for one of the best games I have ever played

What is this.. What game are you guys playing? This is terrible. It won’t do anything and there is no explanation of what in the world the game is about. I hate that I paid for nothing. Would be nice if the game actually did something. First board and nothing happens no matter where I tap. I want a refund!

Lighthearted and engaging. I thought this might be too silly for me but it wasn’t. It was fun and sweet with beautiful artwork. It moves at a good pace and the challenges were just right.

Loved it!. It's the first puzzle type of game I have played in a while and truly enjoyed. The characters are cute and funny and the challenges are just hard enough!

Really nice but of course… a bug. Very nice and interesting game. Ended up finishing it. but there is a bug on part nine. I was playing the game for the second time when I noticed it. In part nine you are supposed to collect the five light sources to get to the spider right? Well when I played I could just go down into the giant mouth without all the light sources! Fix this bug and it will be five stars instead of four.

Confusing. Though I loved this game, the drawings, humor, etc I am stuck that even a walkthrough, that I have used too many times, I can't get past it, very frustrating , does not make sense, if it weren't for the walkthrough , I would have not have made it to the place I am stuck, having to do things over and over and over, so sad

Talk about an outer body experience kind of game. Can I just say that whoever came up with the idea/plot and visuals of this game are absolutely whole heartedly talented people!!!! The way you figure out the puzzles and the different worlds and different creatures... I could just go on and on. Figuring out the puzzles really put your brain to work while giving you a sense of actually playing a game at the same time. Wow. I definitely recommend it you guys. I bought the bundle pack and am currently on Machinarium, so Samorost will be last. Can’t wait to see more from these developers. (An under the sea version would be to die for, give me a cut if you use this idea please lol -no but seriously.) Ana

Good game but how do I turn the sound off!. Great game but I just want to turn off the sound! Cant find it anywhere!!! This will ultimately ruin the game for me if It is not possible. I like to listen to books while I play and this makes it impossible.

Please update worm/star maze *still agree*. I absolutely love this game. I loved Machinarium and Samorost. This is one of the most beautiful and happily bizarre games I've ever played. That being said, on a small iPhone, trying to pass the worm star maze is almost impossible. Please consider some sort of help for people trying to drag a tiny star with their finger through a maze they can't even see (fingers not being transparent and all). Thanks and I love your games!

Great. I really don’t have any complaints about this game. I was just stoked about it the whole time. There was so much thought put into it, with each minute thing to discover. I’m sad it’s over!

Stuck. Over and over. Level8.. I love the game but can't get the multi-eyed creature to hand over the star disk. Eight blue eggs, tried re-playing. Bummed. Playing on ipad mini and heard there is a workaround? NEED!

Dripping Water Puzzle.. Please try to simplify the dripping water puzzle or at the very least please provide some in game hints so that you don't need to understand any high level math like the angle of refraction formula and the like too...

Please make more!. I've had this game for over a year but this is the first time I persisted and got all the way thru. Yay, me! Now I'm sorry it's over. It is absolutely charming and one I'd happily share with my grandkids. Seniors like me aren't too keen on the mostly gruesome and gory adventure/escape games. Amanita seems to get that with Machinarium and Samorost. The challenges are pretty intuitive in what you need to do, although some walkthrough help was needed to see just how to do. But all are doable. Will return to this someday in the future. But please make more! And can you make Samorost 1 & 2 playable on iPads, please?

Stuck on a Level. There is a level where they each are granted a wish and I’m stuck in one of the wishes. It is when the caterpillars have the instruments. The way to get out of the wish space is to pull on a triangle, I did some research when nothing seemed to be working, and does not come up at all.

Stops working. This would be a great app if there were continuous play. It gets stuck, I follow designers' advice to uninstall and reinstall, I start all over, it gets stuck again. Very frustrating.

Fascinating. Loved this game. It was fascinating and puzzling in a very good way. Only thing I could see being added is an into that explains what you are doing a little better. I was sort of confused at one point and stopped playing for nearly two years before I picked it back up again.

Don’t believe the reviews. Did I really just pay for a game that’s the dumbest thing ever?! The answer is YES. I’m wondering if these reviews were somehow paid for. How in the world did a simple push buttons all over the screen to see what happens game cost $5!!!! This game is absolutely stupid. I have tried a couple times, in hopes if I get further in the game it gets better. NOPE. Not sure the point of the game, you just have to continue to tap all over the screen in hopes you can get something done. I want my $$$ back!

Amita design is the best!. This game is diverse, hard and extremely weird. I loved machinerium (Not sure how to spell it) and samorost 3, so I bought this one. This was on the same level of “Favoriteness” than both samorost 3 and machinerium! This game was cute and weird. Weirdly wonderful! There is no earthly logic involved, but who cares! If you don’t want to be super stressed out by your inexperience, then don’t get this one, but I encourage it if you want to take your time. Good luck!

Super frustrating. No instructions, no hints, end up running up and down the same brand 50 times. The creatures do next to impossible this one time and then are scared of their own shadows the next. I'm collecting keys and see a key but my monsters are scared of the scorpion and apparently only one of my creatures is useful, the rest are just there for moral support and would stand there and watch the useful on get eaten. I can't reason with them. I have buyers remorse.

Best game I've played. I just finished the app games and wished they were more. This app really capture my attention, thought provoking and keep my desire to keep playing. The attention to detail animation, cool graphics, fun puzzles and strategy games keeps me playing and feel good about myself when I successfully attain each level. I'm not one who spends a lot of time on apps but this app is great! Even my 8yr old son loves it. It's definitely for all ages. More levels please .. I'll miss these little things of friends... woo hoo! Very nice creation and looking for forward to more apps from this company.

Loved this!. Amanita Designs has come out on Apple Arcade. I’d never heard of them before, being a Mac girl. They are so creative with their characters, organic imagery, and music. I did need help but didn’t mind going back through. It would have been helpful to have a map, which I think the Steam version had. The last chapter is quite the labyrinth. And somewhere to get clues or a nudge, which Somorost 3 has, but wasn’t clear what you are meant to do. (The eye puzzle opens the clue book).

One of the BEST games ever. No exaggeration either. The characters are endless, each unique and with their own special sounds, are the cutest of any game I’ve played, of course, after the characters in Samorost 3 - by the same developer. I can’t even describe in words how well this game is made. It boggles my mind that those developers, whose heads popped out of the jack-in-the-box, came up with the ideas in this game. It’s unlike any game I’ve ever seen or played. It’s so unique, imaginative, beautiful, creative, and I could go on and on. It took me all day to complete the game and it was so much fun the entire time. I laughed out loud so many times. I can’t get over how well done this game is!!! It’s THAT GOOD. This game (and Samorost 3) are my favorite games of all time and I highly recommend them if you are looking for a great game with hours of play time. I’ve played every game by Amanita and I’m eagerly awaiting Creaks. Thanks to the devs for making the absolute best games out there!

Utterly charming!. I love this game and was sad when I finished that last puzzle! The game got more challenging as I progressed and a few bits had me stymied for a while. I found that leaving it alone for a while then coming back gave me new perspectives I found that it is much easier to play on the iPad than the iPhone. There are few games that even approach this level of creativity! Thank you so much to the team who developed it. Bravo!

Amazing art, great gameplay!. I loved the art style throughout this game! Everything gave you the feeling of being back in a childhood fairy tale. The gameplay was fantastic as well! Every puzzle was intuitive and interesting enough to keep me playing the game. All over a great game and a good time.

One of the most wonderful games I’ve played ever. This is a fabulous game that requires patience, thought, and attention. You help a little posse of a seed and his friends to save a tree. The graphics, the storyline, the puzzles are all so richly entertaining and rewarding. You cheer along with the posse as you save the tree from the scourge. I write this with a tinge of sadness; I have played this on-and-off since January and I finally finished, wanting to take each step on its own. And now I am done...and I am sad. Thank you to the very talented and inspiring developers for Botanicula!

Great game. Once you figure out how to play. Instructions at the beginning are non existent. But once I figured it out I couldn't put it down. One of my favorite iPhone games ever.

Issues on iPad 2. Not as good as machinarium but still a great game and beautifully designed. Would give it 5 stars but can't finish the game. Constantly crashing in part 9 on iPad 2 - iOS 8.1.2. Please fix!!

An amazing port but needs bug fixes. I love this game but I can't rate it 4 stars because part 9 constantly crashes and when I reopen the game I can't tap on anything so I have to restart, it's a persistent bug no matter where I go it still crashes (although going into the top mouth didn't do that) It aslo slows down after a while and it only takes a restart to fix so that's fine Overall great game! Crashing. Right off before playing the game I will give this tip to people suffering crashes. Always have at least the same amount of memory as the size of the app you are trying to run. I like to keep a Gb free. I have to remember that besides running and graphics memory, apps need scratch memory (where they work stuff out in the background). All this memory is what I see in the free memory of my ipad 2. There is no secret or other memory. If I keep a large block free I have no problems. In fact never have. I keep telling my 3 kids the same. "Delete those "old" games kids!" I'll get them to rate this and adjust the stars later but if it's as good as or better than Machinarium it will stay 5 stars.

Clever. This game is really clever. The puzzles are tricky but once you work them out they seem so obvious. It looks like a really intricate picture book that comes to life.

Great App. This app has fantastic graphics and beautiful music and an engaging storyline but is a bit too complicated. The tasks are simple, but you have to click everywhere on the screen to find where you need to go. To improve this, please have a help button if you get stuck, so if you don't get what you need to do you can just have instructions on the side.

Supper annoyed - Doesn’t Work on Latest iOS. I love this game and gave it five stars a few years ago but ever since I switched to a 2018 iPad Pro 11 this game is glitchy as hell and unplayable. At first it just froze regularly - easy fixed by closing and reopening the app. But then I reached chapter five and hit a game breaking glitch. The bug meant to be carrying nuts you need to exchange for the bird in the oven just stopped appearing. Because they didn’t include any save options I can either start all over or give up because I can’t progress. So I’m just endlessly stuck one bird short in the weird nut people village. Reloading or changing scenes does nothing It really annoys me when I pay for games and the developers stop updating it. I want my money back or a free pc version so I can make back ups - there was no warning I was only renting the game for a couple of years instead of outright owning it for life.

Epic, but buggy. I absolutely love this, but I'm on ipad2 and I can't get past part 9 because it randomly crashes and when I open it again I can't press or go in any mouth at all. Please fix.

Yug Nivek. Great game, well WAS, now at final level chasing the light on the stork with the red outline beasties, I updated to iOS 8 and now at the point of success which I have achieved several times the game crashes, so I am now not able to complete game

Mesmerisingly unusual. What a gem of the human imagination. The games from these developers are more like interactive art forms then Pure entertainment games. This one is no exception. Highly unusual and delightfully familiar. I was struck by the sense that it was a genuine environment despite the bizzare creatures, behaviours, game mechanics and physics! Seriously thank you. It's an inspiration to art and to the mind. Certainly worth the price. It's a really delightful and inquisitive adventure that will have an impact on you.

This is such a beautiful thing.... I adore the look and feel of this game. I admit to getting stuck on a few of the puzzles, but overall I found Botanicula to be very enjoyable. However, since the solutions to the puzzles are identical every time, replay value is limited (unless you're obsessing about collecting all the creature cards). However, you can keep exploring the beauty of the environment without it ever getting old. If you play the game again, the challenge will be gone, but much of the entertainment will remain.

Best. I’ve played and bought all their games, Samorost 1,2,3 and Bontanicula and Machinarium and completely obsessed. I play them now over again when I’m anxious or want a calming activity as they’re so chill and soothing and take me to a different world. Love them sooo much. Good job Animata, I love you!!

Relaxing and Artistic. I really like the fact that it's visually light, cheerful and funny, (even the 5-legged black thing). Most games look like the inside of a dungeon. I love this game because there is none of the "in-app buy" stuff, that I just think is wrong. The visuals are engaging, and the music and sounds are really pleasant. I think it is suitable for any age.

U can tell the random sounds r people just making funny noises very cool and weird game lol , really atmospheric , Liking all the kooky Kool character cards , lots of time went into the small details of this game, puzzles somewhat challenging got stuck a few times . like it so much I bought Machinarium, its on sale for this release , why not if its half as good as this game. Beautiful. It is short when you play it - but when you look at the time, hours have passed. It has excellent graphics, an amazing storyline and the best balance of comedy. Playing it again is even better, it makes you feel powerful, since you know the paths. I would definitely recommend this app.

Excellent, with a glitch. It’s a gorgeous game. The visuals and music are sumptuous, a true delight. The comedic moments and the personality behind the protagonists made me smile and laugh out loud! I was annoyed by one glitch when an arrow did not appear, so I had to reboot the game, and an ending puzzle that was finicky (seemed glitchy but it turns out you need a lot of precision), but overall this was wonderful. Just fix those two issues and it’s 5 stars!

Charming! Loved it.. Really enjoyed this game. The characters and story are just adorable and made me giggle at every turn! Very charming attention to detail. Puzzles were progressively a little more challenging as the game went on. Overall I really loved it and will be looking for more games like this!

Fun, Beautiful, and quite Challenging. The graphics are quite imaginative and beautiful, with an artistic mix of musical sounds. The puzzles or riddles for getting past obstacles are creative and fun ( some are quite hard to figure out, and thank goodness for the walkthroughs). With a few simple timing/coordination type games intermingled to mix it up. My 5 year olds love to play with me, and repeat again themselves to see how far they can go before asking for help. This is the second game we have really enjoyed from Amanita. I'm looking forward to he third.

FANTASTIC!. This game is a true work of art. The colors really pop. Each area could be a painting in its own right. Amanita Design continues to make wonderful unique adventures that fill my life with nothing but joy. Even in the end when things get a bit dark the sudden creepy atmosphere creates the perfect mood. Even the simple story and chirps that the inhabitants of the tree make throughout the story are a joy to witness. Note: When I first started it it lagged quite a bit on my iPad Mini. Closing all my background apps and restarting my iPad fixed this though. Runs very smoothly now. :)

Ignores mute setting on iPad. Bad citizen....fire this game up no it plays its music even if mute is on! No sound off setting within the game that I can find either.

Good-Looking But Exasperatingly Random. I picked up Botanicula after enjoying Machinarium by the same developer. The games are similar in that both point-and-click puzzle adventures. But whereas Machinarium's puzzles required logic and ingenuity to solve, the puzzles in Botanicula feel haphazard and illogical. Many of them require tapping repeatedly on screen elements until you've done it enough times that something happens. How are you supposed to know that when you've already tapped on something 3 times -- and it does the same pointless thing each time -- that you are then supposed to tap it a 4th time to magically make something significant happen? Or that you are supposed to take this weird thing you picked up on one screen and drag it onto this other weird thing you find on a different screen? The only way to figure out most of these "puzzles" is through very patient exploration of seemingly unrelated elements. Too random for me. I gave it a 2nd star only because it's visually inventive.

Bug in the middle. The game has a bug in the elements chapter and an inventory item is gone (sun element). I cannot go any farther now. Otherwise a charming game.

One the best games out there.. This is not your normal point and click game. And it is not random like people seem to think. This is well thought out game play. Once you get used to how to move around it makes some sense in the levels. Beautiful design, sound and music. Brilliant programming. The games this company makes just get better and better. Super enjoyable and sweet.

Beautiful.. Beautiful game. Just what I was looking for. Similar to Samaria 3, but different and certainly my it’s own game.

Buggy. The visuals are nice, the interaction is suitable for the iPhone, and the premise is interesting. It's just that I had *repeated* problems with pressing on things within the game and having them not react properly. At times, I had to struggle for ten or more minutes just to get something to function properly. I looked up a walkthrough for the game so I know that what I was doing was correct, and sometimes it did ultimately work...but not always. I've had to close the game, restart it, and restart the game from an earlier point several times. That's no fun. Really. Having to fight with an app just to get it to work? Not fun.

This is a game that you won't want to miss. Botanicula is a point and click game that is sure to impress. It is the story of five little creatures that have to save the last seed from their tree from a big group of spiders. But there is more then that. You also can interact with the creatures that you encounter on the way which provides an extra level of depth to this already wonderful game. (By the way this game has been one of my favorite games. 4.99 is a LOW price to pay for this wonderful game)

best little adventure game. If the terms "heartwarming" and "adventure game" don't go together in your book, get this one. The puzzles are just challenging enough to keep you occupied, but more importantly, you'll fall in love with the characters you meet along the way (and the funny little sounds they make). This kept me entertained while traveling and gave me the warm fuzzies at the same time. Highly recommended!

Interesting but frustrating. I have enjoyed playing the game but can't past the second level (5 keys) because I don't have dexterity with my fingers. I have played the game for hours trying to get past that level. I have deleted the entire game off my system to start over 3 times and each time I get stuck in the same place. I really want to give this game a shot, but if I can't get past the singing birds, I think I will have to just delete the game altogether. The only reason I'm frustrated is because I know what needs to be done, but because of a disease, I'm unable to get my fingers to react the way I have to have them to win this level. Visually, this game is gorgeous - and the music is beautiful so far as well. I just hope I can continue playing!

Why can't all games be thus good?. I loved Machinarium, so I didn't hesitate to get this game. And, it's awesome. It's cute, but still a little edgy, it's smart and fun...it's just a happy experience. I will say that there is no direction given, so you have to puzzle out what you're supposed to be doing in the beginning. But, it doesn't take long to figure out and the world is so fun to explore that you won't mind wandering aimlessly for a bit.

Incredibly satisfying.. I don't play games often. I've only played little big planet and puppeteer because they are beautiful and adorable. My husband bought me machinarium on PS3 a while ago and I LOVED it. He found this game for me a couple days ago and I'm obsessed with it. I love how beautiful it is. It's so unique, original and unlike anything I've seen. The voices and music are so cute and funny. I finished the game over the weekend and it was such a pleasure. Having no instructions can be frustrating at times but it makes it challenging and rewarding when you finally figure it out. Money well spent. When people complain about spending $0.99-$4.99 on a game like this, I have to roll my eyes because think about the talent and hard work that went into making this game. I just saw they have a game called Samorost, I plan on buying it right now!

Complete Rating. Just to start off, I absolutely love this game and all the other games made by Amanita Design. It has that sort of charm that Amanita Design always has. To the characters to the gameplay, everything is pretty much everything I want from a puzzle game. GAMEPLAY The gameplay, like all Amanita Design games, is very enjoyable. A classic puzzle game, but still unique in its own way. I like how you can do sort of side puzzles to collect “Creature Cards”, as some people call them. As far as the main puzzles go, I’d say they aren’t the most difficult puzzles I’ve done but they still make you think for a while. That’s what I like about these games. They’re hard enough so the game feels longer, but they’re not so hard that they’ll make you rage quit. To sum it up, I rate the gameplay a 4.5/5. VISUALS The visuals are what makes Amanita Design’s games so unique. Throughout the game you can definitely tell it’s a cartoonish style, but it kind of looks weirdly realistic, similar to Samorost. The characters are usually animated while the background sort of looks real. It certainly is enjoyable to look at. I give these astounding visuals a 5/5. MUSIC Botanicula isn’t really known for its music like Undertale and Cuphead are, but the music certainly adds a lot to the theme of the game. For example, when you’re getting chased by a creature, such as an ant or a crab-like insect, the music gets fast paced and dramatic, like most video games do. I think the singing frogs definitely deserve a shoutout in this review. I mean they certainly have skill. With that said, I rate the music 4.7/5, because of how great it fits the theme. STORYLINE A vital part of every game is a creative story line, and this game certainly has one. If you’re reading this and haven’t played the game, let me just sum up the storyline for you. Basically, there’s this spider thing and it starts eating this tree and gets more powerful every time it eats a leaf. A little orange guy saves a seed from the tree, and he teams up with his friends to plant it. You journey across the tree, and meet a bunch of colorful and amazing characters. From giant bees to little tiny lizards, you’ll see it all. For the storyline altogether I rate it a 4/5. FINAL RATING Although I may have not gave every category a perfect score, I still think this game deserves a 5/5. The charm, the art, the music, all of it is simply astounding. If the creators can somehow read this, let me just say, you did a great job. And on that note, this is the end of the review.

Amazed: by Not a Game Player. I'm a bit in awe of reviewers saying they got through this in A few hours. It took me weeks of half hours here and there and constant Guide cheating to make my way through the more challenging spots. But oh my! I was entranced, enchanted and completely in love. The story line is wonderful and the characters are beguiling. So now I'm off to Machinarium where obviously I will need to cheat but sure I will love.

Masterpiece. The game play is pretty simple. You have to find a bunch of objects, and bring them to whoever needs them. Some of the puzzles are clever, but nothing is outrageously difficult. So, why 5 stars? Because of the shear beauty and simplicity. This is about communication. The actual puzzle is always to find out what the little critters need. Given that there are no words, we appreciate that language is universal.

Absolute Trash. Makes no sense. No directions, totally arbitrary. A disgrace to the App Store.

Favorite. Game. Ever.. I've played both Amanita games, Mechanarium and this one, and they are beautiful, engaging, challenging, sweet, and surprising. Very much looking forward to what they come up with next! the games have very fun sounds, no discernible language in the game (which is very fun and interesting) and the characters have a lot of personality. the games are beautiful to look at, lots of interesting details, lots of subtle and not so subtle humor. I laugh out loud when I play these games, and even though I've finished both of them, I've played them each a couple more times just to visit the botanicula and Mechanarium universes. Number one for sound effects, design, characters, challenges and good clean fun.

Excellent game perfectly adapted to iOS. Been playing adventure games for 30 years. Like other Amanita games (Machinarium, Samorosts), understated yet well thought-out, gorgeously designed(visual and sound), and absurdly cute and entertaining. Games like this help demonstrate that there's more to keeping people playing games than a reward system that promotes addictive playing. That games always have the potential to become an art form rather than mere reward-addiction. I had finished Botanicula on Mac, bought the iOS version to play it again, and it runs wonderfully smooth on an iPad mini 2.

complicated. my daughter did not enjoy this game after tge 5th level. i think it gets harder to move the characters especially on a touchscreen.

So awesome!!!. I used to play puzzle games on the computer as a kid, like Putt-putt and Pajama Sam, the kind of puzzle games where you have to figure out your surroundings and find what's hidden. I can't tell you how long I've been looking for a game like that and I stumbled across it when I found Botanicula! I LOVE this game! I hope the producers continue to make more games like this, with the amazing animation and audio. I love these games! I look forward to exploring the others :) One thing to improve on: there was little to no way to access any help on the difficult levels as far as what to do. I had to reference gameplay videos just to get a hint on a couple of the puzzles

I enjoyed this very much. I do not tend to leave reviews unless I have a big problem with an app however, in this case I had to review this wonderful game. I was leery about paying so much for an app but this game is just wonderful. The characters are adorable, the noises they make are charming, the graphics are beautiful, and everything about this game is just spot on. The designers did a great job with this game. It is difficult in some places as Machinarium was but not overly so. It took a few hours to get through for me as a casual player. If you have five dollars burning a hole in your pocket this is the app to spend it on!

Quirky cute!. This is actually a pretty great game from Amanita Design. I wasn't sure at first, as not much was explained. I greatly enjoyed Machinarium, but I had no idea what the specifics of Botanicula were. Well, it's a cute little story using characters from nature to complete the mission of saving the trees and the tree dwellings from the evil creatures that are killing their world. It did get tricky at times, so sometimes I used a walkthrough. No big deal, as most of the time you try enough things and end up figuring it out. Nice music too. And one last thing, it had some pretty humorous moments that sometimes actually made me laugh out loud. Very fun, and gave me a positive feeling while playing. 👍

One of the greatest games I've played on an iPad. I loved the gameplay and the creative ways you can interact with this beautiful environment. Relaxed gameplay..just fun exploring and puzzles. If you just tinker around you'll figure it out. Needed a walkthrough once because I didn't know that you could hold your finger down on something to have something different happen. It wasn't all just tapping and sliding. I really enjoyed Machinarium but I loved this one more. Intuitive, creative, beautiful. Great job.

Beautiful. This game was quite entertaining to play, though there were a few instances where I got stuck and had no clue what the next step was. I blame the simple interface for this: There is no text or captions to guide you which is understandable due to the story, but it creates and issue if you don't know how to solve the next puzzle. I turned to an online walkthrough when I had exhausted all possible options that I could see. The controls are easy to figure out, and each screen had only a few actions that could be done, which limited how confusing it could be. I enjoyed the story which was both cute (as it dealt with characters such as a leaf, a mushroom, and seed pod) and dark due to the conflict of the story. Amanita seems to have some pretty great games from what I can tell. I also played Machinarium, and I appreciated the book that you could open to help figure out the puzzles if you got totally stuck. I was hoping the same thing would be available for this game, but alas. No such luck. The Music, when I had it turned on, was peaceful and whimsical, nothing flashy or annoying. It fit the world of the game quite well. I recommend listening if you get the chance (though it's not crucial to finishing the game).
