Excellent app for various audio recording needs. I use it to record analog audio from old cassette tapes. I would give it 5 stars if it had the following improvements: - Leave audio monitoring ON when recording is paused - Have a Normalize function in advanced edit mode (applies to selected area) - Add multiple split points in advanced edit mode to create multiple segments. When exporting, have option to export the different segments as separate files. Great app! I would pay to upgrade for above features.

Choir Girl. Great Reliability and sound. I use it every week to record choir practice on my IPad. I get great sound. It’s easy to use, easy to email to friends who miss practice. Good for doing basic record and play. Great storage library capacity.

Great function. Great functionality in an ios app. Allows to edit and append.

Won’t Record. I’ve been using this app for 5 years and totally loved it until now. For some reason it won’t record correctly: it skips segments. It won’t recalibrate audio engine. What has gone wrong? I would have given this app a 10 star rating, but now it is unusable for recording.

Great app but no support. I love this app and have used it several years; however, if you have a question, don’t count on support. I want to edit a recording at a slower speed, but it won’t allow me to save it. If VRP7 people contact me and help me, I’ll change my review. But you don’t give a customer a way to email you on your website. Very poor.

Great practice tool / recorder. In my opinion this is the best recorder on my iPhone! It is so versatile. I love the fact that you can slow down a lick and it stays in the same key. I’ve had this for years and I use it the most

Recording Stops When Phone Is Locked. This app has become useless after OS 16. If the side button is pressed more than 3 times, the recording stops. If the Lock Screen recognizes your face ID, the recording stops. If the phone is emergency locked, the recording stops. I went to their support page, and there’s no way to contact them that I could see.

App crashes when I tried to export to export audio. This is my first time using this app, but it stop working when I tried to export the audio using the “Activities drop box” option please help!!!

Great Powerful Product. I have been using this product for years, with great results. I’ve tried other audio, recorders, and never found one that has this combination of reliability and capability. The free version is really fair and only puts up ads. I bought the paid version to support the company.

Good app but corrupts recordings!. Good app. I’ve already been using Voice Record Pro app by this same developer for a long time and it’s great. However when I record in this app about 40% of the time flies get corrupted. Can’t trust using it until it’s totally stable. Reverting back to VRP.

Options Galore. I record notes a lot with my phone and sometimes the files can be quite large. Instead of cutting them down to a size small enough to send over email to a work computer (which is locked down from accepting Bluetooth file or just about anything else), I just disconnect from my work’s VPN and connect with the app for direct download through a local IP address provided.

What happened?. I have been using this app for over four years, and I found it to be reliable, high-quality and versatile. And now it just quit working. Sometimes won't record it all, or if it records it won't play back. Can't email the recordings any longer no matter what format recorded in or quality of recording designated. I am just seriously disappointed, but would love to know what I might could do to make this app work again! As I say, I have used it, and relied on it, for quite a long time now! If you could let me know what I can do to make it work again, I'll be glad to update this review!

I’m so frustrated by this app. It’s lost several excellent field recordings I’ve tried to capture recently. They’re just.. not on my watch or the phone. Any of them. Also, going through the phone app UI trying to figure it out.. holy cow it is the worst thing I have legitimately ever seen. So clunky, glitchy and confusing. How on earth does this have largely 5* reviews? Time to find a new Watch recording app, thanks for trying guys..

Wow!. I use this app on iPhone 5s since 2016 and I love it so mush but unfortunately I can’t use it any more and get updates

Great App. I love this app. It does everything I need it to do and it offers awesome tools as well. I'm a musician and the only thing I wish it had is a metronome/click track.

Latest version problems. Need to search for existing files. Search not working.

No support. I use this on my Apple Watch 5 and have it on my iPhone 10. It seems to have a mind of it’s own. It will no longer download the recordings from the watch to the phone where I need them. They have zero support for you, take your money and run!

HELP!!!!. Why, when I open a audio file, doesn’t it play from the beginning of the file??? They always start about halfway or quarter way through… SO frustrating!! Am I missing something here??

thank you. thank you for this app. i’ve been using it for nearly ten years now. it still amazes me how no other recording app offers anything close to this many features, all of which are extremely useful. over the years i have tried to switch to other apps with prettier interfaces, only to come back to this one when the other app failed me. it has saved me many times, don’t know what i’d have done without it.

Very buggy. Worked well on my other iPhone models but now that I have my iPhone 12 Pro Max. Files are not playing and saying they have been repaired and when I seek the audio to move to a certain point the app freezes also after a phone call it says “unable to resume recording “ and I have to make a whole new one. Please improve this app.

Great app for recording song ideas on the go.. Would love to see a dark theme or custom color selection for the interface.

Buggy release. Sometimes, after pausing and resuming the recording, the sound quality becomes very bad and noisy. I’m on iPhone X, iOS 12.1.4, using custom recording settings. I’ve also noticed that with lower sample rates, the audio engine doesn’t register anything at all. This is a great app, but currently there is a serious risk that recordings become unusable if you pause and resume, so at I can’t recommend you roll the dice on your work.

How to transfer recordings from Apple watch?. Love the app. It used to crash a lot if you got phone calls but that's better now. I like that you can use your watch to record... But I can't figure out how to get that recording to my phone!! Ive looked all the places I can think but it just says "pending transfer" PLEASE HELP!!!

Advanced Edit no longer working. After the iOS 11.0 update, Advanced Edit no longer works. It does allow me to select, trim and save; but then the file actually saves with no content (size = 0). Frustrating! Hopefully this bug is fixed very soon. I’ll have to rely on Garage Band until the issue is addressed.

I love this app. I love this app it has so many amazing things that you can do for me in order for me to do a job that I do. I am a musician and I'm a singer, songwriter this app is amazing with all the different features we are right after I am finished singing a thought of it so I can take it converted from MP4to MP3 and then email it to whoever I want to I love that I can put it in my dropbox in my drives I love that I can edit it if I need to this is a fantastic app whatever it cost a little bit that because it's well worth it get it

Only App That Works Well for Audio Trimming. I don’t understand why Apple can’t take the time to make a built-in feature or app that is like this one. This is an AMAZING app. I love all the conversion options, trim options, and the ability to precisely select and scrub up to the millisecond (I think it's millisecond, at least.) THANK YOU for making my life so much easier and saving me MANY hours and A LOT of anguish. Can’t recommend this app enough!

Very good. Please add watch complication. Best recording app I've tried. I we ish you could put files in folders. Really needs Apple Watch complication for quicker access from watch.

Freezing. My recording stopped around 3 times. I had to clear out icon and hit play again. Not sure why.

Stopped working.. Keeps saying unable to initialize player after recording and attempting to playback. PLUS I am not sure how but i had purchased the full version and now somehow after update I have ads

Truly incredible.. I've used this app for so many things and it's truly fantastic. For the technically minded, the ability to record in full bit rate wav format is incredible. Matched with the astonishing microphone the iPhone 7, it's truly a high end recording interface. The features and flexibility to edit, export, import and organize recordings is not matched by any other application. Seriously, I've been using VPR since the iPhone 5 and they keep thinking of even more things I never even thought unneeded but now can't live without. Download this now!

Amazing. This is an amazing audio editor, along with being a good place to store audio in general. I keep a music collection on here, along with my own creations.

Why two of the same apps?. No idea why this company makes two different looking apps that do the exact same thing. I’m forever wondering if I’m missing something by not buying both. Pretty Ridiculous and it’s been this way for years.

Almost Full Featured. This app does so much for audio recording. In my opinion, there’s not a more fully-featured app for the iPhone/iPad out there. Four stars due to two functional misses: rotation when phone 180 degrees (usb-c facing upward with the Shure MV88 mic) and among all of the interfaces, the wifi downloading doesn’t work for webdav or browser.

Lower quality voice recording. This app was good initially when I first got it a few years back, but I noticed since last year everytime I convert an mp4 to mp3 file the final recording has poor audio quality. Sounds like I recorded something from a 2000s nokia. Wish the quality was still good.

Crashes. Update: More crashes than ever, lowering review score. Looking for an alternative. Will give 5 as soon as it crashes less. It crashes constantly after freezing. I don’t know if I’m using audio boost too loosely or what but that’s the main issue. ALSO, there should be a shuffle option for downloads because I have to manually switch music. It’d be a nice feature to add. Not trying to be nit picky but that’s necessary in my opinion. Edit: I have updated this to a two star review because the crashes have increased at least 3 fold since I’ve written this review. Not sure why but it’s quite annoying and I don’t want to use another app for the wide range of options on this, along with the audio boost. Please fix.

BEST APP OUT THERE. Wow the world would be a better place if all developers were like this. It has features other voice recorders boast about but voice record. Pro 7 has had these features years before others. Best app for musicians , I’d like maybe a merge 2 files or chapter marker options. But it’s probably tucked away in one of the many menus. Can’t rate it enough

Extremely capable and thought-through. I don’t have anything to do with audio professionally but I am a sound enthusiast. I originally used this app for reliable recordings of a word or two that I would then edit on a laptop and put in a song. The offerings for tweaking recording quality, file type, microphone options etc are presented in the forefront when you first make a recording and can come up every time but never feels intrusive (you can also just change the setting so the recording begins immediately). It motivated me to expand a bit and start recording other things I like, whatever birds sounded cool or a good roll of thunder or the pneumatic door on a train in France that sounded like Star Wars. I’ve recently explored more. Everything is customizable and so well thought-through by people who are so skilled in this, it’s like a master carpenter giving you a box of tools and supplies you need for a project so you don’t spend weeks online doing research, you just get going. The interface keeps surprising me with things just working like I would want them to: adding notes to a recording you’re listening to has the playback at the top with the time stamp, you don’t have to set anything you just make a note in the moment and it’s at the right time with options to automatically add date, location, phone type and a whole bunch of other potentially helpful details. Editing is intuitive, options everywhere are explained well to lay people like myself. It starts up quickly, I can’t remember the last time I encountered a bug and the watch app is actually useful sometimes which is rare. I’m the kind of person who goes through tons of research and playing around with a number of apps before I choose one as my daily driver, I’ve been using this app for years now and I just got particularly jazzed while fiddling with it a minute ago so now you have the longest review of 2020. Get it, you’ll be impressed or at the very least satisfied, and maybe one day you’ll write a book about it and upgrade to remove ads because I (or you) want to contribute to a very impressive team of people so they can continue doing what they’re doing.

Best recording app for iOS. I needed to use a lav mic to do interviews on the street. I plugged the mic into this app, and all of the audio recorded in very high quality. The free version is perfect and has no limits. After leaving my iphone in my pocket while the recording was running, I could then rename the file and upload directly to drive, or a host of other options. This made it really easy to sync my videos up later. Blows voice memos out of the water.

Awesome app. Ios 13 issue though. I’ve used this app for years with great success. Ever since I got my iPhone 11 though I can no longer adjust the gain on the level check before I record which is how I’ve always done. It’s like the gain section is there but there’s no slider to adjust. Very disappointed with this

Advanced Eedit changes won’t save changes. Everytime I attempt to save t song with new EQ, it does not save the new file. It saves with 0 content.

By far the best. I've never written a review before, but I will now, as this is by far the best recording app l could find. Stop looking, this is the one. I recommend you buy it, (instead of the free advertising method), just to support the maker and keep it alive. One thing, the app help support can be unreliable/hardly exists. I understand as the app is very high quality for low price, but I would happily pay a little more to keep this app alive and growing.

Excellent. Excellent recorded with lots of flexibility to change and edit the file and change the sound after recording.

No support for this app. App has many nice features, but there is no support available. The link to “App Support” here in the app store opens the dev website that has no contact link or form. The settings tab within the app has a Feedback feature, but dev has not replied to multiple requests for support there. iPhone app allows for looping continuous play of a recording; iPad app does not allow this, recordings stop at the end each time.

Powerful and friendly. I have tried a number of app and this one has many useful features that other apps don't have. Can also send recordings via email or upload to online storages, very handy. Look clean, beautiful, with a banner of ad at the bottom of the screen and no pop up. Use for 2 years and still keep it. Highly recommended.

THE BEST. This is the best voice recording app I have used. So easy and full of features and best of all, for free. There is a paid version but for everyday use the free version is excellent. Each update it just gets better and better. I use it at least 3 or 4 times a week and once your recording is made there are many options to share or store it thru Dropbox, Icloud, email, etc. and editing is a breeze. You can record and no-one would even know as it can operate in the background. Keep up the good work guys. Looking forward to the next update. 🌺

Mourning iProRecorder, but this is great!. I used to love iProRecorder, from Bias, but now they have gone, no more updates and iOS 11 incompatibility has meant that I have had to bite the bullet and find a new audio recording app! I have to say, once I got used to the (very customisable) user interface, I find this app FANTASTIC, so powerful, effects are neat (not that I really need them much), and the Apple Watch app is FABULOUS, imagine being able to record on your wrist without even having the phone handy! And then it just syncs. In remote control mode the Watch app again is so useful I have made it a permanent part of my Watch Dock! Could probably do with some UI fine tuning/design work, but wow - highly recommended regardless! Worth buying the full version even though the unpaid version ads are very unobtrusive - the developers deserve it!

Best in class functionality, but.... Fantastic app! Easy to use, heaps of recording configuration options, so many ways of saving and transferring audio files. However... Noticed recently that the app no longer rotates. This is SUPER important when attaching a mic to the lighting port. Really difficult to operate upside-down. Please fix!

What I was looking for. This app is exactly what I needed to get some higher quality audio uploaded into Evernote. I love the huge amount of options for audio file type and quality. I would love it even more however, if user designed presets were possible, along with the ability to use one of those presets as the default with the instant recording feature. Having to set the file type every time is a pain, and can lead to lost opportunities when you're using it for field recording. I also agree that an wave form audio editor would be a fantastic addition, even if it was just basic functionality.

How do I fix dropouts in the audio?. I’ve never had any issues with dropouts before after an edit. Now I’m having them. (It sounds like when we used to record onto cassette when the music was still playing. It’s a short hic up.) • Is there a way to get rid of them or to add an extra track of room tone? • Would be great if there was a tab to eliminate pops and mouth sounds. Box.net integration doesn't work. Hi there, I want to continue to use the app but every time I try to upload a file to my box.net account, I keep getting an error popping up that says unable to create voice record pro folder. can you please help me fix this issue. I have no way to contact support for the app. The in-app support Feature is also broken.

Best apps ever for choirs. Rehearsal files for Soprano, Alto, Tenor and Bass are so easy to work with. All our choir members love the app. We are just sorry for those on Androïd, we haven’t find an equivalent as good as this one yet.

Great potential. The functionality is great. The settings are awesome. User interface looks great too. I would be willing to pay for this. There is a major flaw though: it keeps freezing and quits if the ipad goes in landscape mode. If I enable orientation lock, everything seems to be fine.

Great app, wish it had CarPlay support. I have been loving this app to play a loop of whatever songs I need to practice singing while driving. Unfortunately, lacking CarPlay support, if I adjust the volume in the car head unit, my podcast app starts to play along with VoiceRecord Pro 7. Very frustrating and hope it can be fixed.

The most useful app. I am very pleased by the functionality of this app. It is marvelous and performs much needed functions for working with audio on the ipad.

Recordings deleted without consent. I updated this app and when I opened it all my recordings were gone. 3 Years of data on the device are nowhere to be found. This has never happened before. I was not given any notice, there were no consent windows to agree to deleted data. I have reached out numerous times and have not heard back. Please help.

Close to being the greatest recording app ever. All of the cloud services support makes this app incredible! The only thing stopping it from being the best ever is no wave view for editing. Other than that, awesome.

Update ruined app. What the heck did you guys do? The latest update doesn't work properly, crashes iphone not only the app. Also gives an error message that initialization didn't work and none of the files will play. Things like this force people's hands - please fix. Also is there's no email address for customers support only way to communicate concerns is by having to register with development site - what ever happened to the simplicity of an email - don't need another password, another membership etc.

Great for reporters. I love this app! I work in radio and the recording quality is excellent. Being able to send MP3 clips by email in the field is great. I just wish it would record/convert to MP3 by default as our newsroom software needs that type, and it takes me a little bit of extra work to convert the original, delete it, and send the new version off.

Great App for Guitar Lessons. I started using this to record guitar lessons. I can then put bookmarks at important locations for easy access. I can also add notes to the lesson to jog my memory about certain points I need to work at. If I could have one new feature: a button to flip back 5 seconds when listening (or better a configurable 'n' seconds). On an hour long lesson, the slider is too hard to control for small rewinds.

Best voiceover recording. This is my go to when I have to audition on the run or can’t make it to the studio. Super easy

Why did you have to break?. I'm a seasoned 30+ year bassist and love my DAW's that I have, so it's always a pleasure when an iOS app is made well, makes recording a dream, sadly however this dream turned into a nightmare!! This used to be my goto app. Recorded over nine months of rehersals flawlessly, then it started to mess up recordings! Last Saturday it butchered three hours into 6 minutes and forty seconds!!! What could have been an amazing memory is now just that, a mental memory as the audio file is worthless! It was once good, but now I'm back to trying different recording apps.. Giving Music Memos from Apple a shot.

Update Suggestion. Great app!! Would be nice if it could remember last time stamp for non-consecutive listening sessions.

One Bug Brings This App Down. There's a processing issue that causes this app to truncate the end of files. The precise issue: I have a recording (mine is around 1 minute). I applied a volume increase and EQ. When VRP 7 processes and saves to a new file, processing always ends early and truncates the end of the recording. I've tried about 10 times with 2 different recordings on the latest version and immediately previous. Outside of this HUGE issue, my rating would be higher and worthy of buying. I feel the app really needs a few improvements: 1) zoom in (controls are small on iPhone) - perhaps zoom when user is moving a slider 2) normalize 3) waveform view for trimming Hoping to update my review and rating. Clearly work and thought has gone into this app. It just couldn't do the job when I needed it to due to the bug.

Crash crash crash. iOS 26.x. This app crashes 100% of the time when finished and stopping a recording. There's no option to save or adjust anything when finished.

Handy and has some nice features. I use this app to record in-person and on-screen interviews. It has worked very well. I like being able to easily save the recordings to Dropbox or send them to myself via email. I transcribe the recordings afterwards and it would be nice to have a 10-second rewind button but other than that I have been pleased.

Pretty good, adjustable settings, but.... I really Like the UI & ability to change settings from presets! Mostly intuitive. Unless the volume input controls are only in the FULL version, I can't find them on this new version nor the previous. That, plus not much choice on output formats & not much of a help file if any is the reason for 4 stars instead of the 5 it is capable of being. Thank you so far! Pls keep up the good work & improvements!

How can I take the silent parts out of my recording?. Great quality, I just need some help.

MP4 to MP3 doesn’t work. Y’all really need to fix this. It’s the whole reason I got it and it doesn’t work at all.

Amazing app that needs one small improvement. I'm learning an unwritten indigenous language and this app is a lifesaver. I use it every day. The ability to slow down playback variably is a huge help with transcription, the bookmark feature is great for longer texts, and advanced edit is incredible. Sadly, there is no way to organize my hundreds of recordings into collapsible folders, so I am forced to transfer edited recordings to a different app. Please add the ability to organize with a file tree, and I'll be extremely happy! Thanks for continuing to add features! Highly recommended!

It has repeat and you can save notes on the app, instead of having to remember where you stopped or if a certain part was important, you just click "note" and it saves that part for you. Just click it and it automatically takes you to that second/minute! Perfect for school!!

Excellent as to is and can be better. I have tried a number of audio recording and editing apps and I really like this one. It has very pleasant interface and excellent record quality, and many useful options. If only its editing can be improved, it can be the very best. I would like to see better implement of its advanced editing interface and improve the speed of loading and saving. Keep up with the good work!

excellent functionality and reliable. after a few months of using this app I just upgraded to the paid version in order to support the developer. So far all of the functions that I've used work great, I especially love that you can jump 10 or 30 seconds forward and backward by swiping on the playback graphic, As this was a feature that I had been looking for and the other recorders I downloaded that had the feature were terrible. I have downloaded other recorder apps that had issues crashing and with saving files, but have had nothing but reliability with this app! definitely recommend, and recommend supporting the developer by purchasing pro version so that they can continue to offer support for and hone this great product :-)

Best professional grade recorder for iPhone. You can adjust the gain, and apply effects so that once it's recorded the effects are already applied, even EQ. So if you're making a movie and you're using your iPhone with a lapel mic as your concealed lav mic, you can have a saved EQ setting so that when you export the audio, it sounds just as you've designed it to sound. You won't have to make any adjustments in post. You can have one saved a setting for specific lav mic, or one just for the iPhone audio. It's brilliant. You can even sing into the microphone while monitoring yourself on headphones with the effects applied in real time, including reverb, delay etc. Sure makes singing in the car a lot more fun. :-). It does take a few minutes to understand everything because it has so much functionality, but everything makes sense, and what a beautiful piece of software. I have the free version but I might upgrade to the ad free version just to support these people.

Love this app. I record language lessons to play back later. This works great. One improvement I'd like to see is in the playback function. Because the recording is long (more than an hour), it's difficult to add bookmark in small intervals, like seconds apart. Would love to see ability to zoom in smaller section of the audio file. Also desirable to see the volume graphics of the entire audio file and zoom in. Highly recommended!

Not working on my series 5 GPS.. I have used for a few years and it has worked great. Stopped recording on my watch series 5. This app does the exact same thing. Starts to record but when it goes to sleep it stops recording.

Easy. Super easy to use, great app

Input levels totally inaccurate and randomly inconsistent. A lot of nice features in this app, but all negated due to random and inaccurate input/gain levels which are the most important stage of signal flow, resulting in distorted live recordings therefore. Developer has avoided answering and addressing my specific queries and professional evidentiary measurements.

The best app I ever downloaded. I have many hundreds of apps, many of them most excellent. But I never once reviewed one. Breaking silence, I say: this is the best app I have ever downloaded. It does EVERYTHING I want for recording on my iPhone 6. MORE. It records flawlessly with a tap; gives every imaginable editing option; sorts, categorizes, analyzes files; exports everywhere ... Every other time I use it I find one more thing I love about this gem of a recorder. And it's free???! Whoever you are out there who made this one: this is Platinum!

Wow! Schweet. Well worth it. I don't like getting ripped. I like trying apps out for free as you can on this app. Tried it among multiples of others. Hands down, this is the one. I happily paid to remove the advertising, not because the adds were annoying, but because I wanted to show my appreciation to the developers for making my life easier. Taking it easy. Peace!

Very helpful. This application has been a huge for me, and my drum group! We have been learning a lot of new songs lately, and making sure we get all the crooks, and pitches just right is what will separate us from the rest! It allows the newer guys to break the songs up, and learn them piece by piece, and if anyone on here listens to powwow music they understand how important it is to get everyone on the same page! I highly recommend this app to anyone!

Excellent app. Now that that the sorting during cloud upload has been fixed, this app is almost perfect and i use it heavily. It is the best app i have found for recording frequent ideas and also works for long field recording or lecture. Sound quality is very good. I do have many suggestions that would make it perfect: - Option to have a file upload automatically once you stop recording, with the option to only do so on wi-fi. - Option to set your preferred cloud service and not be asked each time to select one. I upload to cloud constantly and really wish it could be no-click or one-click instead of three to five as it is now. Why must we click twice on "save to box cloud"? Then again to log in? - bug/issue: upload fails if you switch apps while its uploading - can this be fixed? Perhaps not, but it would be nice, especially with large files and slow connections. - Visual complaint - the minute/second meter is very small and hard to see, this being one of the most important things when moving through a file. - Add landscape mode - this would make tracking through file easier.

Only two flaws, but big ones. This app is excellent as voice recorders go, with extensive features, but I'm rating it very low because of two critical deficiencies. One is that it appears to be impossible to empty the trash. I have about 1.3Mb of discarded recordings, and nothing will empty the trash folder, at least with Windows iTunes. The related deficiency is that I've sought assistance from the developer repeatedly but have received not a word in reply. Nor does their web site appear to have a place to leave a question or comment.

my go-to recording app. So far, the app is flawless. I upgraded to ad-free to support the dev and continued app development. Takes a bit to figure out all of the options, but absolutely worth the time. Really appreciate the wide range of recording, managing and sharing options. Had problems with other recording apps, including Apple's native version, but this this one has not failed me. Highly recommended.

AMAZING. this app is apples voice recorder on steroids. It's insanely high quality!!!!! Literally I use this app to convert my music files to wav for my albums I produce and it's perfect. It can even change the bit rate!!!! I bought the remove ads within seconds and plus it comes with an apple watch app. Seriously these guys should be #1 in the App Store and I highly recommend this app.

ALWAYS CRASHES. ZERO STARS! If you try ANY advanced edits…even a small 2 second removal of silence…this app now crashes every single time you try to save the edit. And NO it’s not user error.
